worse and worse
by Baldanzd on 2020/11/29 17:51
used to be a good app but they ruined it
Thank you is not enough!
by Secondsin on 2020/11/29 16:42
So grateful to UG for all it has meant to me and my musical journey. The evolution of UG is amazing! May we all continue to be blessed and bless others. Love is the answer!
Get rid of shots!
by stjscott on 2020/11/29 16:35
This app would be so much better (aka 5 stars) if it was optional to turn off the shots. I couldn’t care less what others are playing, nor would I ever want to share my own playing. Only here for tabs, hate being constantly reminded to do something with the shots.
Can’t even open the app!
by santi_fbt on 2020/11/29 15:58
I can’t even open the app. I click on the home screen icon, it opens the app, wait a few seconds and then it crashes! Please fix.
Surprise!
by ServantOfGod123 on 2020/11/29 15:30
The nice surprise is having the ukulele option because I play both the uke and the guitar.
Increasingly Frustrating
by stupid monkey.....!? on 2020/11/29 06:53
It seems like every time a new update comes out for this app it works harder and harder to keep you away from learning music, and instead shoves as many ads down your throat as it can. I’ve been using ultimate-guitar (both online and in app) for over 10 years and have always had complaints about how tedious and anti-music the whole experience is. This latest update brings that experience to a head with the app now being /covered/ with ads, premium features, and desparate marketing attempts that completely negate any postive music learning. At it’s best, this app was tolerable. But if time has taught me anything, it is only going to get worse and soon unusable.
Glitches
by marlo0523 on 2020/11/28 22:54
I’ve used this for years why is it glitching so much lately. kinda can’t use it anymore it’d be dope if u guys fixed it cause no other app works like this.
Great when it isn’t crashing
by Cheesemoto on 2020/11/28 22:46
Love this app - when it is working. On my iPad Pro it crashes on a regular basis. Very frustrating.
Pretty trash
by sksodi3 on 2020/11/28 22:33
Why bro
Ive already paid for premium
by happy customer 01 on 2020/11/28 18:11
Ive been a long time user and i paid the premium price for this app in Feb 2018, I'm unhappy that I'm being asked to subscribe to a different premium plan than what i had originally purchased and would like my account restored, i love the app but i have already paid for these services and now they’ve been taken away which isn't right.
Subscription model is dumb
by kickinfatbeats on 2020/11/28 17:17
Just make it a paid app. Incentivize extras for power users who actually necessitate them. But don’t put up a free app that requires a paid subscription to have ANY functionality whatsoever. That just feels scummy.
I got this!
by poppy 7474 on 2020/11/28 16:04
I love this app! Thank you this is the greatest
Great app
by Kholl71294 on 2020/11/28 15:55
This app is a great resource. I would recommend anyone interested in playing to download and upgrade to pro - worth every dime!!!
Pretty cool
by 4rabanito on 2020/11/28 15:15
What’s find! App works well as a tool for learning new songs. So whether your new or a veteran musician you should be able to find it useful. I’ve been playing for over 30 years and am finding all kinds of uses for it. Also like the added benefit of having background music to play along with. That’s really helpful! You can upload your own version for others to listen to as well. Or just listen to others. Very nice community based app. Download it today!
Great resource but..
by JChow40400 on 2020/11/28 06:31
The editing option for this app is hot garbage. You tap one word and your cursor gets launched to a totally random section of the page. It’s ridiculously frustrating.
Amazing value
by Grogu_Luis on 2020/11/28 06:05
Usually always decline when apps ask me to rate them on the App Store but this app gives so much more than what I expected, even if you only have the free version
Really disappointed
by gayyyyewee on 2020/11/28 03:49
It was a really great app now I can’t even click on songs without me having to restart the app. I used to love it but I’m very disappointed 1 star review
Lost its way
by mcslain1970 on 2020/11/28 01:24
This is a great app. But recently it has lost its way and is focusing heavily on user videos. Tablature now is clearly in the backseat. The GUI makes this obvious as I now have to click through menus just to get to the tab. Very disappointing. There is nothing wrong with the user videos, which are called Shots. I just really prefer my tablature apps to focus on tablature. Especially when I‘ve paid for a lifetime subscription.
Official Tabs
by Sharkest pool on 2020/11/27 22:19
The Jingle bell Rock official tab is a masterpiece. One can view tabs for multiple instruments, and switch between them easily. The live-updating fretboard is awesome, it tells you where to place your fingers and when to press down. It’s awesome
Thanks👍🏼

Great app until they updated it
by jmichael1981 on 2020/11/27 21:29
I have no idea what you were thinking. App used to be amazing and what I loved most was being able to listen to a song via iTunes and go to the app, one click, get the tabs. Now you open and get “shots” of other people playing?!!?!? I didn’t want a social media app I wanted a app for getting tabs. If there is another app that is like how you used to be I will use it and delete this one ASAP. This is the first time I’ve ever written a review. I was so disappointed in the change to the app

by 3Rnest Lopez on 2020/11/27 17:57
Muy buena app. El problema que tengo es que me da muchos problemas cuando sincronizo la app con Spotify. Se cierra y cuando no se traba se traba.
Great app, crashes with new update!
by Iamsicoolsosuckit on 2020/11/27 05:48
Ever since I updated to the most recent iPhone update, this app crashes every time I open it. Tried reinstalling, reloading, nothing. Upsetting and hope to get a fix soon.
Great! But I’m having problems
by mary_cannon on 2020/11/27 03:03
I love this app and I think that it is very well developed but recently I’m having issues with the app glitching and freezing. After tapping on a single song I am unable to scroll down and my phone screen is frozen. I have to fully exit out of the app. Even if I can tap on a song and scroll, once I go back to my saved songs I am met with the same problem. “My tabs” screen is frozen and I have to fully exit out. I have tried powering down my phone and deleting and re-downloading the app, but nothing seems to fix my issue! Hopefully this is resolved soon or someone has a troubleshooting tip for me. I really have enjoyed using this app!!

iPhone 12 Pro Max Problems

Ever since upgrading from an iPhone XR to my new iPhone 12 Pro Max, I can’t pull up any tabs at all without the app crashing. Please fix that.
Good
by bbbchwjjjwhhbdj on 2020/11/26 18:02
It’s an amazing app! Free chords for piano, guitar and ukelele! The only thing I would say is annoying are all the ads you have to watch before you listen to the song. Of course if you have Spotify you can connect that but you have to do that every time.

So satisfying to my soul to love Music and have easy access when I’m drawn to learning a song
Young Singers, Possibly Future Stars
by C Joel on 2020/11/26 02:54
Being an older man of a 76, I really enjoy seeing folks learning how to play musical instruments and singing along with their music. When I was younger I learned to play several instruments, some a little bit and some quite a lot. I am so unhappy to say that I didn’t continue with any of them. So you people who have so many ahead to enjoy your music making, do keep it going not only for you but for those around you and your family and friends yet to come. Joel Veal

I am a pro user since 2014. When i try to search for a song the keyboard will not come up. Cant search. When i go to feedback it does the same. Keyboard will not come up. Cant send feedback. Love this app, but something is wrong. Are you all there?
It’s my bread and butter for all things guitar.
by Chrisisthedude on 2020/11/25 21:05
As a Christian, I wish I resorted to my bible as often as this app, but I find myself in need of the right chords more often than God’s timeless wisdom. I’m not saying this app is more important than the lord, but this app does exactly what it needs to do: provides the chords for all my favorite songs, and even the ones I hate. Great app! Been a subscriber for like 5 years now!
Good apps love it

Such a great app. It is well managed and the interface if perfect. It makes me want to play more guitar and it makes me a better guitar player. If you want to learn how to play guitar get this app. If you know how to play and want to learn more songs get this app. If you can play better than Eddie Van Halen himself than GET THIS APP.
Great resource!
by Super wearer so I ate pie on 2020/11/24 15:08
I am brand new to playing the guitar but this app makes it so easy to find songs I can play with the very few chords I know. Once I master the F chord, I’ll be ready to start booking tour dates. Stay tuned!
Great App

Crash didn’t deserve best picture broke back mountain did
by nagagahka on 2020/11/22 21:52
Love it but it crashes almost every day I use it. Doesn’t matter if I’m on my phone or iPad, or that it’s all up to date. I’ll be halfway through a song and the app will just close, and I’ll have to restart, refind the song, find my place, etc. So so so so so annoying, especially since it’s otherwise INCREDIBLE — most songs you want are there, and often with multiple versions.

by Fletch3232 on 2020/11/22 13:53
Whenever I want to learn a new song I know UG is only a click away. Watching other musicians gives this app a community vibe that keeps me playing everyday. When 2020 was turning the world upside I would just click on UG and learn a new jam to get me through 😎Thank you so much UG!
This app is all about enjoying music
by AnvilContent on 2020/11/22 02:01
I love this app. Whether you’re a pro or just starting out you’ll find the music you love laid out in an approachable way. And the community that’s grown around the app is really special and supportive. Having fun is what pushes any player along to get better.
Awesome!!!!
by dermhawk on 2020/11/22 01:01
Really helps me learn. Thank you.
Not the best.
by R_sey on 2020/11/21 23:17
So, the first two days I could see the cords to anything, and as a beginner guitar user that was cool. But today I couldn’t open ONE song without it saying “pro guitar subscription ” or something like that, and when I said no thanks it would kick me out of the song completely. I found that stressful, and honestly kind of trash.
Best Tablature App/Reference
by Immichür on 2020/11/21 18:57
I’ve been playing for over 40 years and have never seen or heard of such a fantastic collection of material. The “band” accompaniments are first rate, as is the user interface. Users are able to choose instrumentation, and mix sounds as needed. This app is a must for any musician.
We don’t need another social network
by Clp19 on 2020/11/21 17:50
I love your app, use it daily and have for years as a premium member. HOWEVER: This “shots” feature is irritating- we do not need more social networks in our life. Stop trying to become something you’re not. Stick with giving us, as musicians, accurate chords and tabs and leave us alone with your self promotional attempts to win the attention of Facebook and cash in.
Beware of this app!!
by Drbiner on 2020/11/21 14:18
I used this app up until about two years ago when I purchased a lifetime subscription to Tabs HD, which was an enhanced version of the current app. Suddenly, this week, the app I purchased will not open. I contacted customer service (who only responds every 24 hours) and was told only to “be sure you are using the standard version”. It’s as if they will not acknowledge the paid version ever existed! I feel that I have been scammed out of my payment!
I love this app so much
by KJ Elise on 2020/11/21 13:59
I really really love this app and it has honestly help me learn so many songs on the ukulele. I used to start off as a beginner, and now I can play SO many songs. Thank you for this great app!

Paid but can’t use it
by Miss dessy 😘 on 2020/11/21 03:43
I paid for the app when I first downloaded it and now they want me to pay a subscription. I bought it thinking I would be making a good investment and now they expect me to keep paying for the same thing I already paid for in the past. It’s frustrating.
From 5 stars to 1 star over-night
by Clewinctown on 2020/11/21 00:02
Wow. I’ve been playing guitar now for just 2 years and have been a paid subscriber during that entire time. It was a great app but the update I ran today (11/20/2020) destroyed it. The new look and feel of it are terrible. The things that made it great are there but now are cumbersome to find and they loaded a bunch of stuff I have zero interest in. They completely removed the home screen and when you log in now it is awful. Literally now 1 star. Oooff.
Profiteers ruin another folk thing
by Meriweather on 2020/11/20 21:34
Basically they are trying to profit off what is traditionally an honor. It is an honor to teach a song to another guitarist. It is an act of beauty to transcribe a song and share it freely. Song books are one thing, but this is theft. They have stolen our work and put a paywall in front of it. I will not be supporting this.
This is amazing!
by JulieRiveta on 2020/11/20 16:01
I really love this! I can find most of the music i’ve bene dying to play!
Awesome resource
by treks-on on 2020/11/20 16:00
What an awesome resource. It’s rare that I don’t find a song that I’m looking for within this app already. Provides multiple variations of several songs for those of us who don’t know all of the complicated chords yet. Great job guys!

Returning learning
by Firefighterguidry on 2020/11/19 12:48
Used to play a lot with some friends. Always enjoyed it and got away from it for around 10 years. Wife bought a new Gibson for me and I’m enjoying very much knocking the dust off with this app. And I also got the pro version, and I am loving the lesson articles. So much I never knew or took the time to learn before, and all of made easy to understand and not overwhelming. Thank you!!!

Lots of good but more bad
by Boizelo on 2020/11/18 22:09
So this is a pretty good app if I need to play a song at a party or something like that, the problem is is that there are so many features but they cost money. And the app is really laggy and slow. There are also so many ads. Just remove the bad or at least on of the bad thing and my rating will be 5 stars

Recent iOS and app upgrades makes the app not load
by irnbrulover on 2020/11/17 18:46
There is no other way to communicate with the developer that the app no longer works and as a result using the website is painful because all it does is try to get you to use the non-functioning app. UPDATE: I was able to get it to work by deleting the app and re-installing. Upping the review from one star to two.

Barely works but it’s the only option
by jescat26 on 2020/11/17 17:56
It will barely launch and load, even when I try and restart it, it just freezes. The only reason I even have this app is because they make the mobile website impossible to use so you have no choice.
Huge bug
by darian2 on 2020/11/17 16:49
I’m writing this here because the keyboard on the app won’t show up. I can’t search anything up or report the problem because the keyboard won’t pop up allowing me to report it. Love the app but this new bug is a huge problem
Good Stuff
by e R o X on 2020/11/17 15:53
I’ve been strumming&picking for many years however I really never progressed as to being able to change chords at the right time etc., Seems I had a “disconnect”, for lack of better choice of word. UG has helped me take a step up and frame those chords and stay in harmony so to speak. I’m still trying to get the nerve to do a shot. Well, guitar shot. Smirnoff comes natural. lol. 😎😜 Rock on Folks! eRoX 🤙🏼
Horrible user experience, tainted by in app purchases and ads
by 1738! on 2020/11/17 14:51
Ultimate Guitar seems to have made it a point to make your user experience as bad as possible, unless you're a paying user. You'll get ads, notification prompting you to sign up or buy in app purchases, and at the end of the day they produce none of their own content. It's 100% community driven, what are we paying for?
Awesome
by measure tech on 2020/11/17 11:40
Saves a lot of time having someone else tab it for you.
Highly overrated
by Bluishlocket on 2020/11/17 11:02
I don’t usually rate apps with low marks, but this thing really is a steaming pile. Crashes constantly, blatantly shoves ads in my face before every tab, and then has the gall to require me to switch over to the app when I’m looking at UG’s webpage in browser. And now it won’t even open, just perpetually takes me to a black screen of death. Why it has such high praise, I’ll never understand. As far as I’m concerned, once it’s gone, it’s gonna stay gone. I’m uninstalling right now, and if you want to avoid months of future headache, you should avoid this app like the plague.
Love your app had some issues
by SPACEGHOSTSF on 2020/11/17 06:49
I use your app all the time and it rocks! Recently had loading issues, deleted the app and reloaded it and it seems to be working again! And Thanks for the offline option!
Tabs galore
by Charlesonetime on 2020/11/17 06:06
A great treasure of tabs. Some are inaccurate but some are gems and with a little effort illuminates many songs. Just about everything is on here. I just found the right way to fingerpick Pacing the Cage by Bruce Cockburn and I’m ecstatic. Hint—. It’s the bottom one of the 5 offers.
Wonderful
by DudeBroManGuy10101010 on 2020/11/17 05:34
I’m a just a guitarist who’s always on the road. But I am a way better guitarist on the road because of this app. All the gear in the world can solve all my problems, but when you’re in a hotel room all by yourself without any of your gear...... my guitar & my phone are enough to make something that is meaningful. Sometimes those minimalistic moments are enough, but sometimes they’re just the beginning. Either way, they’re what I live for. Thanks.
Can’t use my preexisting subscription.
by sgguitarist94 on 2020/11/17 03:56

My Favorite app
by Arlowhat on 2020/11/17 03:10
After the latest update I have struggled a bit navigating through the app. Having said that it is still my favorite guitar app. I literally have learned to play guitar with this app. I am far from being a pro and still have so much to learn but I can now just play many cool songs just for fun. Thanks a million to the app developers.
Tab list jumps around

This app is great when it works. For a while recently my tab list bounces around when I’m not scrolling so it’s almost impossible to select the tab I want. I scroll down, stop, and then it jumps a few times to different parts of the list.

Gotta PAY UP if You Want to See Most Tabs
by Not Happy with GT on 2020/11/16 20:34
I have never before left a review for any app but this app inspired me. This app will annoy you to no end to pay for the monthly/ yearly subscription. If you don’t open the app in a week you’re forced to go though multiple pages that entice you to pay for the subscription before you can search. And 99% of the time the first few tab options require paying the subscription and the free tabs available are sometimes incorrect. It is without a doubt the worst app on my phone, which is a shame because their site was almost essential to learning guitar for me. Young guitar learners will be dissuaded from Guitar Tabs after using this app. I would much rather pay a one-time, upfront cost of $5 and still see 30 seconds ads in-app than pay the yearly subscription with no ads. The subscription choices are $6/month or $15/year, which is so obviously a scam because they’ll make you think “I’d be paying $72/year for monthly so I’ll save so much money buying the yearly subscription” but even $15/year is still not worth it. I’ve played guitar for 16 years and still play just about every day but I don’t use this app nearly enough to justify the cost. Their greediness will be their downfall.

Awesome, but...
by The-lateman on 2020/11/16 19:12
I gave four stars because of a really annoying bug. Every time I try to put in my birthday on my profile, it says that I was born a day earlier than I put. Ie: I wrote “June 4” and when I clicked save, it showed up as “June 3”. So I had to write June 5 instead, but then I left for a few days and came back, and it said June 31! Then when I tried to change it, it said that I was born MAY 31! What the frinkle? Also, I would really love an option to change your account username. I know you can change your name on the account details, but I mean the NAME name. The one that people see on your tabs, the one that people see on your comments. Otherwise, awesome app! I love it. It really helps me with piano, and I’m hoping to start learning guitar with it. Keep up the good work, just plz fix the bugs. (If I get a developer response I’m gonna feel so special, lol) Thanks! -Scarlett_K (soon to be SoKo, as soon as they let me change my username)

Sorry to see someone else has the same problem I do!

I have the same problem that another one of your subscribers had. (Drwho0204). I paid for the whole Premium Package deal On August 11, 2014. I just went and looked up my purchases (I took a screenshot) because I knew I’d had it for a long time and I paid for the Premium Package back then. I was informed today! I use it almost every day, I love it!! It’s the best app for chords I’ve ever seen or used. Funny, only 1 time was I not able to find a song I was looking for! And love that the piano is now included. And all the other terrific features it offered. Hope that gets taken care of. Not trying to be ugly, but I went and checked my purchases, I knew I had bought the Premium Package years ago. So… I’m really really shocked to see I’m being charged. If so, I believe you’ll do the honorable thing, and refund if so. I’m gonna try what the other person said they did . Delete it and then reinstalled it,I hope that it comes back as it was, because… Man I’m not paying for it again. I already did in 2014. The same exact thing happened to me as him. I really love the app. If I have problems … I read where to let you know. Thank you. Sara (lol…both nicknames I tried might be me)
Great app, I recommend but...
by Geometry dash3000 on 2020/03/17 00:23
I love this app. I’ve learned so much about guitar and enjoy learning how to play songs I love on the guitar. I bought the premium version on last (cyber Monday I believe) and it was worth it. More access to better tabs and also autoscoll which is great. But the one thing that always gets on my nerves is that I can’t remember a time that I’ve had this app (for almost two years now) that it hasn’t had A LOT of annoying bugs. Sometimes tabs take forever to load, other times just everything is slow. And currently, there’s no way for me to record something and retake it (go back) if I don’t want to publish it or save it to my library so I just have to exit the app altogether and wait for everything to reload to get back to the tabs I was using. Overall I would recommend it because despite the long waits for the tabs and such, its a great app to teach yourself guitar with. However, I would just ask that the developers spend less time reviewing the videos people post (there’s little need for these videos to be reviewed for inappropriate content, I’ve watched plenty of other people’s videos and I’ve never seen anything inappropriate there before, just make sure there’s a clear way to report someone if it’s necessary) and spend more time fixing the countless bugs and wait time for the tabs, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
They took everything I paid for away
by Drwho0204 on 2018/02/01 12:56
About six months ago maybe longer I bought the premium package deal thing. I mainly used it for the interactive tabs. Loved all the new features. I don’t know if this is a bug or something y’all planned but everything I paid for is not available anymore. It says that I need to upgrade to the full version. I already own it and I’m not paying for it again. I don’t know if you thought you could take it away and give it back after I payed for it again, but I’m not buying it agains. I truly hope this is a bug because I loved the app, but after this I don’t think anyone should it if they are going to steal your money Alright disregard my last post. During the full version deal there was a timer. It wouldn’t let me use any of the features I purchased. The full version deal would show up every time I tried to do anything that required the full version. After the timer went away it still wouldn’t let me access it. I waited a day to see if anything would happen. Nothing happened. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It now lets me use everything that I bought. I am so thankful this was bug because I loved the app. Other than an actual guitar tutor this is the best place to learn. I would highly recommend the full version as it is very useful.
Hands down best app on my phone!
by IPhone-All-the-Way on 2020/07/14 04:03
Had it for years. Paid for it once years ago (not sure if thats still how it works..) but arguably the best money I’ve spent on anything musical. This is no advertisement btw, just a guy who has saved hours upon hours of time learning songs by reading tabs/chords entered by other people who have already put in the time and serious effort for the benefit of all those who learn the song later. You can transpose the song into any key higher or lower to comfortably sing it or make it you own, have the page auto scroll as you go, hear the song too if you like, touch any chord and see the various ways it can be played (now on a piano and ukele as well.. excellent update btw, THANK YOU!) You can give feedback messages to those who create the tabs to collaborate in effort to make the perfect tab, any song you can think of is there and for many of the most popular songs you can get the exact sound effect for your guitar with the integration of “Tonebridge”. Well done. I can’t say enough good things. Just thanks, thank you, and thanks again! —A long time fan and one happy customer—

One sweet app
by carriosity on 2018/06/28 13:57
I grew up in a family where making music was an everyday occurrence. My dad played guitar and banjo. I started playing rhythm guitar when I was about 13. But then life happened and when I was about 29 years old, I lost my guitar in a divorce and haven’t had one since. (Warning...don’t get into a bad marriage with a musician). That was more than 20 years ago. Just bought an Epiphone acoustic and I’m shocked at how quickly muscle memory and strumming patterns are coming back. Except my old lady brain can’t automatically find the right chords for songs the way it used to. This app has seriously helped with this issue. So far, I have not thought of one song that I want to play that this app doesn’t include. Add to that, the ability to listen to new songs, and play along if you want, right in the app...that’s just awesome. I can’t read tabs but I may learn since that’s included as well. Anyway, thanks to the developers for this unusually helpful and functional product. Thanks to Ultimate Guitar, my husband, who is a drummer and has never picked up a guitar before, is now learning as well. 👍🏼
Want to Learn There’s No Better Place to Start

This app is probably one of the best ever made for iOS. Wish they made it for MacBook Pro OS X. Tons of songs, tons of functions and now becoming a community. Worth the tiny yearly price without a doubt. It will show notation bars along with tabs right under. You can slow the song down or speed it up as you learn. One of the best functions is the ability to high light bars and put them on repeat enabling you to work on bars that can be particularly tough. Using the Tonebridge app lets you use a digital foot pedal that sets up your guitar to sound like which ever song your playing. Clapton, Metallica, Jack Johnson, Eddie Van Halen, Jerry Garcia, Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd you name it. The Tonebridge also gives you a backing track. The back track steps Ultimate Guitar to legendary status by allowing you to play and instrument. Bass, Lead, Rhythm it gives you to pick the instrument. From beginners to pros this app is top notch resource. You will need an interface I have the Apogee Jam+ but there’s others. Go to you local independent music shop and support you local businesses.
Not what I thought I was paying for.
by Roguepandabear on 2019/08/27 08:38
I rarely ever write reviews on apps but this one made the acceptation. I’ve been using ultimate guitar on my laptop for years for free. I saw the app and it cost money but I thought it would be worth it to have it on my iPad, little did I know the charges didn’t stop there. Most of the content is only accessible if you pay for the monthly pro membership. If you don’t have the membership you can’t use the transpose function, every time you open a cord chart up you’ll have an advertisement pop up that you can’t close for at least thirty seconds and I’d say half of the content isn’t available unless you pay for the pro subscription. I’m really disappointed with their app and the fact that I payed for the app in the first place only to find out it’s set up like a free trial app that you have to pay that monthly subscription to have full use of it and to get rid of annoying advertisements. It’s probably all written out in the fine print what is available and I (like 99% of people) didn’t take the time to read the terms & conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this app to a friend, the website is still free but now covered in advertisements in the middle of the songs if you’re not a pro subscriber. Ultimate guitar used to be an amazing place for people to learn songs.
Revised Review - much better on second look
by AttendeeX on 2018/12/31 04:11
I struggled with my first try of the app at the free membership level (see old review below - probably was trying to use a "Pro" tab while at free membership tier). Given the overwhelming positive reviews I switched to the web version, thinking "it can't be this bad - has to be me". It was me. I had such better luck with the web version that I upgraded my subscription for use on the laptop. Now, with a little familiarity, life is way better in the app too. Plenty of novice-level tabs available. I'm using favorites, playlists, requesting new tabs from the community and authoring my own. Ultimate Guitar is my daily practice partner. Wouldn't want to live without it. Already well worth the annual subscription and will get more value as my playing improves. [OLD REVIEW]Sorry, unusable here. Every time I click on the song I want to see I get the video ad to upgrade to pro. Dismiss the ad and I'm back in the main menu. I can't tell that this is anything but spam. Not enticing me to upgrade.[/OLD REVIEW]
Love this app! But there is one problem...
by D cytfth on 2019/12/27 02:41
When I first started playing guitar, I was over the moon when I found this app! This app has helped me to learn so many chords and songs on my guitar but I have one problem with it. Whenever I want to play a song for a friend or a family member, I constantly have to pause in the middle of the song to scroll down so I can see the next part of the song. There is an autoscroll setting, but it’s only for premium users😕. This has become a problem for me because autoscroll -to me- seems like an essential requirement to play through a whole song for other people without having to memorize every single chord and when the chords come in, PLUS the lyrics! I think it’s good that there is a premium purchase because some of the premium stuff is VERY high quality. But autoscroll? I think that it should be available to all users so everyone can play the songs that they want and not have to stop the song every 10 seconds to scroll. That’s just my opinion, but it’s an opinion I feel very strongly about. Otherwise, this app is amazing for both beginners and experts!♥️♥️
Honest review
by DoM_76 on 2019/10/25 01:21
So let’s start of with the good things and then move on I like how this is unique considering the fact that there isn’t anything quite like it it has thousands of useful tabs all amazing to play and many ways to teach you how to play songs it’s truly amazing however not every tab is accessible because of how you have to pay to use certain features like chords and a tuner however there is many free tuners and places where u can find chords so I find this odd another thing is that I think that they should remove what you have to pay for and make it free but because I know you want money u can push the adds be different more different then you already are how about try things like amps and pedals or a tuner for guitars with more then 6 strings or just tubers for more stringed instruments the possibilities are endless I am sure you don’t need a unintelligent 12 year old to tell you to get money people care about the quality not about how much time they spend watching ads Spend a day of two just to look at different apps find the problems with them and make ur own
My favorite guitar site!
by roadapple_gl on 2018/10/02 02:24
Thanks for this. I use this app more than any other. I can learn chord progressions, lyrics and most anything that I need for playing out, playing new songs in worship service, or just for fun. I invested in a pro account a few years ago and I highly recommend it! You can learn how to play a song in the same key as the original recording, or in a simpler progression to match your skill level; or to a key that is easier to sing with. There are a ton of great songs on this site, in just about every genre you can think of... for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass (electric and acoustic), piano, violin and even ukulele! Most people making comments on this site are trying to be helpful, although there are always some that are quick to criticize, but offer no correction or suggestions; but unfortunately, you will find that on just about any site on the net. Give the Ultimate Guitar app a fair try, and I am sure you will find something useful to help you get to your next evolution of your guitar journey.
Lying to make a few bucks off of me
by Meeklekinz on 2018/09/19 18:05
I have been a devout user of Ultimate Guitar since probably 2008. I have always appreciated them as they always have always been a dependable source for me. Even when they finally created a smartphone app. I was all on board to pay for it. Recently, I decided to try out the pro side of things. I liked the features, but I have to admit, I hit a pretty rough spot financially, so I needed to cut back on a lot of small things. Like a monthly $7.99 charge. Well, after I couldn’t figure out how to cancel (users fault, I admit) I contacted UG and asked them to help cancel my subscription. They swore up and down that it was apples subscription and I needed to take it up with them. So I tried to figure it out to no avail. A month went by and I admittedly forgot because a lot went on. Another charge. So I contacted UG. Same response swearing up and down it isn’t them. So I contact apple and they point out that it is UG making the charges. I finally figure out how and where to manage my subscription and cancel it. I know I am at fault for being an idiot and not knowing how to cancel it myself. But why in the world would you guys not just help me out?? Screw you and I hope that extra cash you got from me makes all the difference in your lives.
Need much improvement.
by MisterCap88 on 2017/12/10 23:30
Many of the tabs I have used have been fairly decent. But many of them absolutely terrible. When you use the interactive tab, most of the music that goes along with the tabs aren’t matched with the tabs themselves. So the tabs being played on the interactive fretboard, aren’t going along with the music making it very difficult to play along or learn. There’s is also the brain and chromatic tuner problem. When using the brain tuner, I need to reset the app each time because it won’t make any sound for me to hear. With the chromatic tuner, I can play an E and it’s trying to tune a G. The tuner cannot pick up the string I’m trying to tune. Which isn’t a huge deal, it is a tuner on a phone. Lastly, I spent about $15 on this app with upgrades and I have nothing. Not sure what my money went towards, but the app keeps asking me to pay to get new features that I was under the impression I already had. When purchasing, it said I had all features, so still very confused. But what I have learned from this app has been good, lots of great tabs to choose from, just wish it functioned better, and wish I got my money’s worth.
Crashes occasionally, but still provides a great service
by TheFlyingM on 2019/04/23 22:09
Haven’t purchased a pro membership, but the free tabs they offer are great. Definitely my go-to source for guitar tab, and the app makes browsing on mobile much easier than in a web browser (though I gotta admit the way the website pushes you to download the app is pretty annoying). Occasionally the app freezes unexpectedly when looking at tabs. Only way I’ve been able to fix it is by killing the app and restarting, and even then I have to wait 5-10 seconds on restart before it reloads to the home page. Then have to find the tab I was on again, which sometimes isn’t the easiest if you’re like me and browse a lot of different tabs for the same song: then your search history is filled with links to every individual tab that you’ve viewed for that song. Ended up just signing in to my account so I could favorite tabs. It’s still pretty annoying to have the app crash in the middle of practicing though.
Was once a great app, not anymore
by SarahIsABaker on 2018/03/01 05:25
I’ve been using this app for years, and loved it. I paid for the app when it was a flat fee, and once they started adding more features I paid for those too. I used to use it all the time to learn new tabs. It used to be a 5 star app, that I recommended to anyone who plays the guitar or ukulele. With this new update, it’s useless. Constantly crashes, seems to have a mind of its own opening and closing tabs, speeding up and down when auto scrolling (going from .5 speed to 1.5 for example, on its own half way through a song) This is extremely frustrating when you’re trying to learn a new song, especially when you’ve paid for the service. I’ve sent two emails to the developers via the app, and never heard back, which is why I’m finally posting a review, since it appears they don’t care. I have the iPhone X, so it shouldn’t be an issue of compatibility. The update seemed great at first until I discovered all the problems. It seems like they were too focused on getting the update live, and ignored the fact it obviously wasn’t ready. I kept hoping they would fix it, but I tried using it again just a couple minutes ago before writing a review and it’s still has all these issues.
Rendered useless by pop ups
by smk725 on 2020/06/20 15:36
Ultimate guitar, the website used to be a premium place to get accurate tabs and featured good adds that didn’t clutter the screen. Now the website pushes you onto the app which may actually be nice but since it constantly bombards you with pop ups to subscribe it’s useless. I can’t even have the opportunity to try the app to see if it’s worth subscribing too. I have no faith in paying for an app that the makers don’t have the confidence in letting you use it without starting a “free trial “ or grab your information. Ultimate guitar is now rendered useless by their aggressive add targeting. I will much easily find tabs elsewhere. It’s like this... sometimes you quickly need to fingertip a lick or song on the fly and ultimate guitar does not allow this due to aggressive pop ups. If they haven’t caught on to how a guitar players workflow is by now and simply cause frustration when you are working on the fly then I have no faith or trust that their app is any good. I will use one of the other free it less aggressive services. It’s shady. I rarely give poor reviews but the makers of this app would have something investing in if they would think like a guitarist and not waste our time. They may also be wasting our money.
At first I did not like it
by MemerMan127 on 2020/10/28 15:51
At first I hated this app because it was literally just giving you the beginning of the song unless you paid, but if you actually helped the community and submitted a tab, it pays for you for a month. Just for one tab. I really like how it connects with the community to help other people learn guitar. It’s apps like this that really connect the world and help bring people together and enjoy music together. I play acoustic guitar, ukulele, and I am in a choir, and this app rivals some of the things my choir did to bring people together. I’m very great full to the creators of this app for bringing me towards this app. Thank you. I’m also great full towards the website, which lead me to this app. Thank you. And most of all I’m great full to the community for creating and submitting tabs for everyone to enjoy. Thank you. Everyone seeing this, please download this app and submit a tab. It doesn’t have to sound good or even be original. Just submit a tab so that everyone can join together in harmony.

The Best
by hellohellohello1209 on 2018/05/09 15:32
Been using this site for my tab needs ever since I started playing. And saying that it has been an awesome experience would be an understatement. There are new tabs being posted constantly. There are almost always multiple renditions of the same song depending on your difficulty level (which really helped me progress). And such a personal company that I was able to send in a suggestion to improve the site, and within a few weeks the new feature was added. Whenever I go to any other tab platform, I end up feeling discouraged by the lack of interactivity and personalization ultimate guitar provides, especially if you spend the couple bucks for tab pro. Then wait around for Black Friday and pick up a lifetime subscription for like 60 bucks. The community is also an awesome point that must be touched on. All constructive feed back. And whenever you feel a tab is a little off, you can go to the feedback and usually someone has already posted the solution.
Greatest thing since sliced bread...

I started playing the ukulele about eight months ago. I was pretty well organized I had set up files for each song and put the research that I was able to find off the Internet into each of the file folders set up for each of the songs. It’s a lot of work. With this app you have everything you want in one place. Somebody has already done the research for you and has found the tabs, solos, the actual song itself and then the lyrics. This is the only app and in fact it’s the only place that you can find all of these needed tools in one place. I spent a lot of time consuming hours finding this same information and putting it together myself. You don’t need to do that or do what I did because all you need is this app. So going forward now when I learned a new song I don’t have to spend half the time researching and locate in the information. With this app I can now just identify the song and start playing. Thank you.
Great for finding worship lyrics and chords
by Nickoman333 on 2020/08/18 15:49
As a music worship leader, and as someone who doesn’t like wasting time, this app is great for finding chords and lyrics to worship songs quickly. And because people can submit their own versions, I am sometimes exposed to some unique arrangements that I prefer over the originals. My only request would be that the auto scrolling matches whatever tempo we want to play to the song. It can get frustrating trying to get the scrolling set to just the right speed so you’re not having speed up or slow down your playing. Maybe that’s only doable on the songs original version, but maybe it’s possible to set the tempo and have the text scroll to match it? I’m not a developer, so I don’t know how easy or difficult that would be to do. If you are looking for a way to find chords and lyrics (worship or otherwise), I highly recommend this app. Thank you to the developers and to everyone contributes their versions of songs.
Hello from Tennessee
by brianjames8282 on 2019/02/19 01:37
I am a 36 year old bass musician who plays at local bars and in my at home studio. I love that I can look up almost any song in your search bar and have the tablature right in front of me. Not only for the bass, but I can get tabs for lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin or any other instrument that was used to record that particular song. The reason I gave the app 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the accuracy of some of the tabs. I know that most of them were written by users and are the users interpretations of the song. Also several versions are usually available but sometimes the tabs are so far away from what was actually written by the artist that it could be a completely different song altogether. It just seems like there should be some kind of proof reading/editing. At least for the tabs that have such a large difference from what the original artist wrote. Other than that I love the app! It has helped me learn songs for years. Keep up the good work and please take my criticism as constructive. Thanks.
Disappointed

I really enjoy guitar tabs. It makes it very easy to learn tabs and learn new songs. Guitar Tabs has been a really helpful tool while learning how to play guitar. There is one flaw though, a few months ago, I did a free trial for I believe 30 days. When it was done I deleted my pro account, but weeks later I found it was still saying I had a pro account. I checked my credit card to see if it was still charging me, and yes it was. I went to account settings to delete it, but there was no way to delete the account. I looked up how and it seemed impossible to get off my pro account. Sadly, I decided the only way to get off pro was to delete my account. I was very sad to do this because I thoroughly enjoyed using this app, but there seemed no other way around it. When I went to delete my account I found there was also no way to delete my account. I looked up how, but as before, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t just delete my account, I would still be paying for the account. Today still, I don’t know what to do. I would suggest you don’t get this app because they literally make it impossible to get rid of it.

Yes, it is not all inclusive if every single aspect of the music industry, but expecting that of anything in any culture or app is ridiculous. What it DOES have is a huge selection, with input from common folk like myself up to the big wig professionals and bands we all idolize and adore. I have been able to teach myself so much that I never knew was out there, on multiple instruments, thanks to this app. I first discovered it several years ago when it was just a website, and now as they features are added to this app and are continuously improved upon, I continue to find new information and aspects that push me and drive me to learn. My band I am in that is trying to make it big has been able to use this as an amazing resource as well. They are also fantastic at responding to customers and their reviews, and making sure that everyone has the best experience possible. Thank you Ultimate-Guitar!
Long time paying customer conned by ultimate guitar
by ripped off by ultimate guitar on 2019/03/07 13:56
I bought this app probably about 8 years ago when it cost 5 or 6 bucks. Pretty expensive for an app back then. Anyway you didn’t need to login to an account, and there were a few more free features included like free chord charts. Anyway, somewhere along the line they decided to make the app free and then charge you like 8 bucks a month for all the features that used to come when you just bought the app, and since I had not created an account I got completely screwed out of the money I paid for the app and now can’t even use the features I used to have access to. When I tried to email customer service about this to try and get my features back they were not helpful at all! They essentially called me a liar by trying to poke holes in my story and never once tried to right THEIR wrong. Never left a review for anything on line, but I have also never been this furious about the way I have been treated. I feel like trying to get someone to pay for the same thing twice is the definition of a con. Can not believe ultimate guitar, shame on them, I will find a different tab website to use. Would rate zero stars if I could.
Updated. Wish we could change print font
by Qwertyasdfghzxcvbn4 on 2020/04/03 17:41
I’m on a free trial. MAIN GRIPE. When I go to print I cannot change the font size. I have to copy and paste (you can do this from the pro version print screen) to notepad in order to change the printing font size. The entire reason I tried the pro was to be able to print, which it does.... but it’s incredibly small and doesnt allow you to adjust anything. Half of a verse or chorus will be on page one and then you’ll end up with just a couple lines on page 2. I will probably cancel before I get charged for the year. Of there was printing font adjustments I would absolutely be a long time customer. If your only going to use an iPad it’s a useful app. OLD NOTES PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. I have an iPad Pro. The app doesn’t work. I try to search for a song. Song shows up. Click on it and nothing happens. I try to go back, app is frozen and I have to force close. I’m on version 13.3.1 I’ll have to stick to he website. Make sure it works before you buy it!
Great Support

This app (The paid version) is extremely amazing with everything that it does. I've only been playing guitar for about two weeks now, but I've already gotten quite a few chords down and transitioning as well as strumming pattern. I've yet to search for a song too and not be able to find it! Aside from that, the favorites are really awesome too. I'm able to pretty much recalibrate the song by editing lyrics or chords, allowing me to edit it to my own liking and allowing me to practice something that's more my level. Pretty much able to clean songs that have a great message but maybe a couple of cuss words, you know? Or implement the placement of a chord/strumming order etc in a place that it isn't written at. Anyways, I'm pretty much ranting now XD I just highly recommend getting this app if you really want to be able to learn guitar or honestly even some other instruments such as ukelele or maybe even piano, etc.
Great App, Very Useful!
by Noot40 on 2019/05/07 02:17
This is a fantastic app and a MUST for any guitar player, new to the instrument or professional. I really love the fact that they include chords for other instruments for songs as well(guitar, bass, ukelele, etc.). This app is definitely a very efficient way of finding chords and words to your favorite songs and learning how to play them. If I could suggest one thing to the developers, it would be that there was an option where you could choose a certain genre of music and be provided a list of songs with varying difficulty in that genre. At times, I’ve wanted to play different songs than the ones I had in My Tabs but I wasn’t exactly sure what to play. As nice as the preset playlists are within the app, many of them don’t apply to my personal interests or provide enough options for songs. This feature would definitely make this app shine more than it already is! Well done and keep doing what you do best!
Practically Perfect Except For One Thing
by Big mama45 on 2019/06/16 00:04
I had recently found an old ukulele in my room and wanted to stay playing. I downloaded the app after seeing a few ads and really enjoyed it. Their collection of songs is extraordinary and I learned many new songs. I never purchased premium, because I’m not that serious of a player, and the app was still great without having yo pay. When opening new tabs, an ad will open up, no problem I just wait until I can click out of it. Recently however, the ad, even after a an x appears in the corner and I’ve clicked it several times, still remains. I get stuck on that screen, but my phone itself is fine. When I close the app and restart it, this problem still occurs. Eventually it resolves itself. This has happened a few times in the past month or so, but I would not let it prevent you from downloading the app. Altogether, it is well done and useful.
Few bugs but great overall
by LTDplayer on 2018/04/13 14:58
I’ve been using this app for about 3 years. I’m a self-taught guitarist so using this app really makes learning songs easy and quick to learn. As for those of you who want to learn guitar, this app will be your best friend in learning any songs you’re heart desires, just not every song is available FYI. A down side I had is the price. Yes, you have to pay for the app which I thought that was it but once purchased you also have to purchase the “PRO” edition in the app. Yes it was a bummer but I didn’t mind paying extra for the PRO. As for the new version they come out with, its great, excellent design for the platform but, and I say this because most users also have this issue, it’s become very problematic. What I say by this is that I’ve had the issue with the app freezing and lagging either on the search or on the tabs which became quite annoying having to refresh the app constantly. Overall, it is an excellent app just, it just need better maintenance.
Great. I spend most of my free time with this app
by Lanceg02 on 2019/07/01 19:25
I found this app while searching for guitar tabs on safari. My first impression of this app was bad because after downloading the app and opening it from safari it looked like the tab i wanted to play was premium only. I tried another tab and it said the same. I deleted the app but after a few weeks i went back to the internet to look for more tabs for songs i love and re-downloaded the app. I saw the same thing from the first time but decided to try it out. Once i figured out how to work the app i fell in love with it. I now use this app whenever i get bored or want to play the guitar which is most of the time since schools let out for summer and i stay at home all day. Thank you so much for this app and if i had the money i would buy premium just to support the creators of this app. Keep working on this app to keep it up to date and make it even better!!

I love that I can learn new songs every day and learn them better and more efficient. All the cool gadgets you have like time, tempo, metronome, and other awesome things just make me love the app more. Totally worth paying for. I had been playing guitar for a while but I wanted more challenges, and now I have them. Learning by ear does not to justice to the complex rhythms and things that show up in tabs! Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity to improve my skills! I guess it must have been quite difficult to dissect so many songs and I thank you!!! Great app for any level guitar player! I am a little confused though. I’ve heard a lot about this app being free, yet I did have to pay. I think it’s totally worth it and I got a great deal, but I don’t know exactly what I bought now that I’ve heard a lot of responses about this being free. But a great app and I appreciate the effort this took to make.
Awesome!!!
by DBarnhoff on 2017/11/14 23:00
I've been using this app for around three years now and I still utilize it daily! When I decided to actually start taking guitar playing seriously, with the goal of being able to play and sing songs from start to finish, I knew I'd need a good reference guide for song chords. I tried a couple free apps first before I bought the full version... wasted time. For around twelve bucks, since I wanted all the options at the time, I have a great tool to practice with. Being able to have the lyrics and chords scrolling as the song plays has been so helpful. I went from learning chord shapes to playing and singing confidently on stage with my band. I was just a singer at first... now I'm center stage playing and singing so many of my favorites. Either at home with friends and family or on stage for strangers, I can now fully enjoy sharing music with others and feel like I wrote the songs myself. Thanks for this app!
You are not ‘too busy’ to pick up your guitar!
by jtlbell on 2019/12/10 06:40
As someone who used to go to the music store with a pocket full of change to buy sheet music when I first learned to play, this is really technology at its finest. I’m having so much fun. This afternoon, I totally wasted $15 on a burrito and beer that made me feel terrible but the $15 I just spent renewing my pro account made me feel so happy. I like the camaraderie of other musicians posting their covers as well. It provides good inspiration to not make excuses and sit down for at least 30 min a day. Given the number of years I’ve had a guitar in my room, I should have my 10,000 hours in already if I didn’t use life as an excuse to avoid pursuing my passion. Since my phone is always in my pocket anyways, I just find a new song to play and tap it out for when I get home, which I find to be a significantly better use of my time than scroll through news sites or social media.
Love us still the answer

Hello, my name is Kathe. I am 66 years old, retired and live in Oklahoma City, OK. Just found this song and keep listening to it over and over. I play the guitar but not that well anymore. I have played since I was about 15 years old...no lessons, just taught myself. This quarantine is hard because my son and his wife live in Montgomery, New York and my daughter and her husband and my two grandsons live here, but are under very strict quarantine due to her auto-immune status. So we see each other only on the phone. I am going to try and learn this song so I can sing it to the kids at the school where I usually substitute teach when we finally get through this quarantine! Thanks so much for sharing this song!! I have some problems with depression on a ‘good’ day so I need good songs and feelings to get me through. God bless all of you and thanks for the song, and letting me share!! Love really is the answer!
My thoughts on Ultimate Guitar app
by Tomy tony timmy on 2020/04/21 01:43
This app is f’n great. Wether you’re learning how to play guitar/bass/piano/ukulele or if you already know how to play. They have most songs you could ever want. And then so many other features to the app. You can connect with other musicians, and watch them play/sing or post vids of yourself. Ultimate Guitar also seems to always be coming out with more features too. When I first saw how much the app cost I was a little wary. In the landscape of millions of apps costing like a dollar this was a bit more. The difference here is that Ultimate Guitar App is worth it. Not just another one of those countless crappy dollar apps. I use this app daily. The app developers seem like they want to give their members the best app that they can. Oh, and if there is anything that you would like to see in the app that isn’t there they have a way that you can contact them and make suggestions for that.
A great tool to improve playing, ear, and sight reading
by Doctor Parsnips on 2018/10/05 17:29
I’ve been a long time bassist, and I still need help figuring out bass lines and chord progressions. This app is a god-send. I love that I can look at a tab for quick reference when I’m jamming or at a gig, or I can spend time with an official or interactive tab to really nail a part or learn a line I haven’t been able to figure out on my own. Playing along with the official tabs has improved my sight reading; having the track there as an audio reference if I get lost is awesome, and the ability to slow down the tempo to really nail groove, fingering, and more length is extremely helpful. I feel that my playing has improved dramatically after spending time with these tabs, more so than it has with actual lessons or music books. I say this is a must for musicians of all skill levels, from amateurs to gigging musicians looking to perfect their parts.
Great app but some issues
by E Bathurst on 2018/10/07 19:02
Good stuff: I’m a thirteen year old boy, and I really enjoy music. I got my guitar in second grade but lost interest. In the past couple of months, I’ve learned that I really like how the guitar sounds, so I researched guitar apps. After heavy research, my parents ad I decided that this was the app to get. I’ve had the app for about a month, and l’m really enjoying the app. I’ve tried playing stuff from Beck to AC/DC. Bad stuff: App is confusing to navigate when you open it for the first time. Also, it is not said in the description that there is a subscription payment, which upset me, but I was able to pay it. But the thing that Aggravates me most is the fact that after playing too many songs, the app sends an error message saying I can’t play anymore “official” tabs. This forces me to put down my guitar for x amount of time until I can jam again and learn more songs. Overall, It’s a great app for veteran players, as well as beginners like me.
Suggestion

I love this app so much! The unlimited is worth every penny! I use it for acoustic gigs and when songs need to be learned on the fly, and it’s incredible. If I could add any features it would be a filing system for multiple set lists (so that you wouldn’t have to scroll through your entire collection, but to be able to group certain songs together for easy access) and a feature that would allow you to mark up/paint on the music for side notes, vocal cues, etc. I’ve played with people who leave notes out or want me to only sing certain backups and I have to try and remember on the spot 😂 if there was a markup/paint feature I could just scribble on the music, and get it done with no worries. But even still, UG has CHANGED THE GAME! GET IT! You won’t regret it! Every guitar player needs this, you’ll save so much time when you’re in a bind to learn a lot at the last minute. 🤘🏻
LOVE THIS APP 🔥🔥
by Ripp3drick on 2018/05/23 16:58
Never fails me when I need a quick resource to find the chords/lyrics to just about any song. On a real level, this is like my pocket gig trick. I play gigs and bonfires nearly every weekend and take requests often.. this app has come in handy on more than just a few occasions. There are multiple versions for each song, which is great if you need to change the key signature to suit your vocal range. This app has a tuner that will tune for you or has the option to tune by ear. If you're unsure of how to play a chord, the app has the chord positioning within each song. You can even hear how the chord should sound by pressing play. If you want to know the strum pattern, you can listen to the chord progressions. So many dope features, it's truly an all in one app. I never write reviews on anything, but this application really deserves 5 stars. It's the Perfect sidekick for any gig- anytime, anywhere. 🤙🏼

This app, y’all. Out of ALL the apps I’ve had to delete in those frantic pressing moments of clearing cloud n’ device space to capture new memories, Guitar Tabs is by far the app I have consistently redownloaded shortly thereafter. SHOOT, y’all—even just the website a decade ago (in its most ancient era) imparted enough clarity, drive, and inspiration to keep my Fretty and me going. The GT App, y’all. IT’s OFF the wall, and YOU—you’ll be ON fire. Which final thought: I typically search for fairly random songs n’ artists (rarely of the now, and rarely billboard, popular, well-known, or well, known! ahAha With GT, I ALWAYS find the song & artist. FURTHERMORE, TALK about OPTIONS. Such a vast array of interpretations, styles, methods, or otherwise suggestions from which to choose. The biggest problem I have with it? TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES! Too many resources and too supportive&responsive a community. Like, GREAT. NOW what’s my excuse?! 😒🤨😅☺️😌
Long time user before the app
by Urmom666witch on 2019/05/26 23:27
While I do really appreciate the access to great free guitar/bass/uke tabs, I can’t say that this service has improved in the course of the past 9+ years. I’m not looking for any fancy extra features, just here for the music and would prefer if really loud ads didn’t pop up every 10 seconds when I’m trying to learn a new song.. Hasn’t happened when I use the web version, so if that’s something that improves on the app I’ll change my review. -EDIT: I have absolutely no issues with having ads, I totally respect that it’s necessary. A simple solution could possibly be just to play the ad when I click the tab, and then let me get on with learning. My only issue is that it continues to pop up multiple times, stop the song I’m playing to and then starts playing an ad. This means I have to, not only turn my speakers down while the ad plays, I also have to go out of the app, turn the song back on and then start over, only for the ad to pop up again in 30 seconds.. Will remain hopeful for improvements.
Almost perfect
by A7xfanJDubs17 on 2018/03/23 03:19
I’ve been a long time user of the app and with the most recent update I’ve been even more impressed. A few things, personally, are holding it back for me. First, there’s a lot of lag when it come to switching between instruments in the pro tabs. It’s just not smooth at all and makes it very difficult when learning multiple parts. Second, in addition it does not indicate well what instruments play what part. Simply guitar 1, 2, 3 do not help me to know which is lead or rhythm or solo. I understand it is up to the tab creators to name the instruments, but it there a way to require indication of the positions?? Maybe it’s being too picky, but when there are 12 guitars listed in numerical order rather than position it is a pain to search for a particular one. These are really minor aggravations that over all take away very little but would add so much if included in future updates. Keep up the good work.
Great app, but...
by TheMagnificentSock on 2020/01/15 06:29
I’m happy with the functions of the app. I don’t mind ads and I don’t mind what I’ve seen other reviews “paywalls” to content via subscriptions; ads are what they are and I honestly only ever use the app for chords anyway. Auto scroll is helpful and except for one or two obscure exceptions, I’ve never had an issue with finding the song I’m looking for. 5 star app. However. Making it so you can’t access most of the Guitar Tabs website on your phone’s browser, thus pretty much forcing those of us without laptops, or at least those who prefer to use their phones, to get the app is frustrating. It’s annoying that I can’t see diagrams of chords I’m unfamiliar with, have limited access to songs, and am constantly and consistently pushed to get the app. It’s so irritating that I have actively avoided getting the app and going to the website altogether for the longest time, opting for websites that are in my opinion of lesser quality, just because I didn’t want to be bombarded with the sheer lack of accessibility the mobile website inundates you with. Like I said, I enjoy the app and give it a five star review. But I needed to make it clear that limiting a user’s experience on one platform so that you can raise traffic to another platform is one of my biggest peeves with a lot of other websites. I hope I don’t come across as angry or bitchy, I would just like to see this resolved.
Thank you!!!!!

I love music!!! I play a variety of different instruments including guitar, ukulele, piano, etc. and guitar tabs has helped me tremendously!!!! I love to sing as well and I love how easy it is to access so many songs and i love how there are different versions of the same song, so if I don’t like a certain version, I can choose a different one! And I don’t only use this app for guitar! I love the guitar, but i use this app more for piano. If you know how to play chords on piano, then this app is great for you!!! And you can also use this app for the ukulele!!! And, you don’t even have to be good! I learned most of the guitar by using this app. Before I found this app I only knew a couple chords on guitar because I didn’t really like the pressure of learning a new instrument. But guitar tabs made it fun! By letting me chose exactly what I want at the perfect level of experience is very helpful.
Best and efficient app for song chords period!
by Mahi Mo on 2019/05/02 02:44
I’ve been using this app for 3plus years now for finding chords to songs we use for worship on Sundays and its been awesome!! I love that it has different versions of a single song, it makes it easy to find what works and also the feature that lets you scroll through the lyrics at a speed that you set so you can play along through the whole song without having to touch your phone! The paid version is so worth these and any other additional features! It won’t be a stretch if I said I learned how to play songs through this app and it helped my journey in learning how to play guitar period. Not totally there yet but this has been and continues to be a huge part of my growth as a guitar player. Thankful for the community, the app and everyone involved in what it is!! Many more blessings to you all!!
Great app but updates are killing its speed
by Walker2021 on 2018/06/06 19:20
Tons of songs, easy to use, and a great way to either learn or just stay dialed in. Love this app. I still think this is one of the best apps out there for learning guitar tablature and chords, however, it seems like the most recent updates have just slowed it down and made it incredibly glitchy. I remember this app used to run incredibly seamlessly, albeit having some crashing problems, but now it seems the open tabs that weren’t touched, pauses while auto scrolling, and sometimes plays videos without ever even having press the play button without any chance of making them stop without closing the app completely. In terms of information and content this app is world be on just about any other guitar learning app especially for the price but until some of these incredibly annoying problems get resolved I just can’t quite give this app a five star rating.
Needs fixes
by ileostommy on 2020/08/05 22:36
Fantastic selection to choose from. But devs spends a lot of time trying to sell you on subscription payment while ignoring basic layout issues that cause parts of the app to be unusable. For instance, there are significant impairments when you try to edit a tab on an iPhone X or newer (or any phone with a bezel). While your screen is vertical, the app doesn’t let you zoom out so tabs are shifted out of place and you just see lines and x’s everywhere. But if you turn your phone horizontal, the keyboard takes up half the screen (should be able to be compressed + option to hide altogether with proper coding), and the bezel cuts off the beginning of each line on the side. That type of stuff isn’t a “subscription vs. free” issue, that’s an inherent app issue. Once those types of problems are fixed, I’d be open to purchasing a subscription, but paying is not worth it if you pretty much only use the mobile app (and not a computer/desktop).

I got this!

Great app, crashes with new update!
by Iamsicoolsosuckit on 2020/11/27 05:48

I really have enjoyed using this app!!

by bbbchwjjjwhhbdj on 2020/11/26 18:02
It’s an amazing app! Free chords for piano, guitar and ukelele! The only thing I would say is annoying are all the ads you have to watch before you listen to the song. Of course if you have Spotify you can connect that but you have to do that every time.

This is amazing!

by Boizelo on 2020/11/18 22:09
So this is a pretty good app if I need to play a song at a party or something like that, the problem is is that there are so many features but they cost money.

Upping the review from one star to two.

by jescat26 on 2020/11/17 17:56

Tabs galore
by Charlesonetime on 2020/11/17 06:06
A great treasure of tabs. Some are inaccurate but some are gems and with a little effort illuminates many songs. Just about everything is on here. I just found the right way to fingerpick Pacing the Cage by Bruce Cockburn and I’m ecstatic. Hint—. It’s the bottom one of the 5 offers.

Thanks.

Thanks a million to the app developers.

Sorry to see someone else has the same problem I do!
by just …Sara on 2020/10/05 06:38
I have the same problem that another one of your subscribers had.

The Best
by hellohellohello1209 on 2018/05/09 15:32
Been using this site for my tab needs ever since I started playing.
Greatest thing since sliced bread...
by Tex B on 2018/07/23 00:46
I started playing the ukulele about eight months ago.

Great Support
by Dustin Reliford on 2017/11/08 18:21
This app (The paid version) is extremely amazing with everything that it does.

Guitar help you seek= this app helps

Awesome!!!
