Wow
by Gartano 1749272)-&;$ on 2020/10/23 00:17
I was blown away by this app. It’s seriously awesome. One of the sharpest apps I have ever used. They have thought of everything. I LOVE that I can listen to the song while I’m learning a new song.
The only place for quick, user-friendly chord charts and tabs
by solicitedopinions on 2020/10/22 19:12
I’ve been using this app for the better part of a decade. It’s gotten a lot better over time and the mobile friendly aspect of it means I’ve got the biggest songbook available basically anywhere. It’s the Wikipedia of amateur guitar knowledge, which is high praise. If you’ve got good enough eyesight, this is the most convenient way for a play-along as well. But don’t let it become a crutch for your ear.
Very disappointing
by Bhendi on 2020/10/22 18:45
This I never do. Writing a bad review for this rip off of a poorly designed, horrible impediment to the advancement of guitar players and students of guitar worldwide. It took me a while to write this. I really gave this app a chance but it is the epitome of an over-priced, badly-managed, piece of.. software I wish I hadn’t paid for. I would love a refund and hope (for the sake of all guitar students and music lovers out in the world) that they really revamp their curation system and content moderation. This app and its website are riddle with watered down, weakly analysed, and, just wrong charts and tabs. This app does a disservice to music by encouraging people to learn altered (horrendously) and a disservice to humanity by enabling second rate covers to be spread around. It won’t matter to them if you buy it or not. Really. They are already have their SEO such that they will sell these to naive believers and anyone who wishes to learn songs from tabs and chord charts because any search on any search engine pulls their site up and they are provably not even trying to improve it. I hope they have to be tortured by terrible covers at their resort while they enjoy the buffet and sip bad mimosas. The people who provide them free content (called users but are really the ones being used) should be paid for giving them even more exposure that the don’t deserve. Get it together ultimate guitar. I’m willing to give you another chance for as long as my $15.99 lifetime membership gets me access to a jumble of nonsense and frustrating design. If the app improves, I’ll change my review. To be fair, some of the charts are accurate because there are some great musicians who have used this or have submitted charts to one of the other sites ultimate guitar probably bought out or stole content from somehow long ago. Who knows. Maybe I’ll add content someday... But probably I’ll just use the other app. Don’t buy it!
Next to impossible to cancel subscription
by stevenanimator on 2020/10/22 10:27
Just a fair warning - you will be charged monthly for this app and good luck trying to cancel it. After seeing several threads in the forums of people asking how to cancel I started my own thread requesting my subscription to be canceled. If that doesn't work, I'm going to try calling Apple or my credit card and dispute any future charges. Whatever cool features this app has is negated by the deliberate strategy by the developer to make it nearly impossible to cancel subscription. I wish there was a consumer agency that would go after anyone who doesn't make it simple and clear to cancel a service.
Do not pay
by guitarguy245 on 2020/10/21 22:08
If you wanna spend $6 a month to have an app that crashes every time you click on a tab be my guest. Can’t even load tabs to view them without the whole app crashing
Good app overall! Some bugs recently...
by clay2hewlett on 2020/10/21 22:01
I love this app and use it all the time. Unfortunately there has been a bug recently when scrolling through the tabs section. The page jumps all over the place. Haven’t experienced this until just recently. Still love the app just hoping this annoyance will be fixed soon.
Video ads? Really?
by Millerboy91 on 2020/10/21 16:57
I can put up with a lot, but introducing ads into a well established app is a non-starter for me. Extra BS for no added benefit. The cool features were already locked behind a subscription, now I have to watch ads too? I’ll stick to the desktop webpage, where at least the auto-scroll works.
Newbie to Guitar Playing
by kjkellyus on 2020/10/21 12:39
Started playing almost 2 years ago. Love the tab concept, never knew playing a guitar would be this easy. Great app, only rated a 5 because there is nothing higher!
I’m impressed

Misleading advertising
by ydacannej on 2020/10/20 21:42
In summary: the app is no different and just as unusable as viewing the website in-browser if you don’t pay for premium. When trying to view chords on my mobile browser I’m inundated with ads to download the free app, and some of the features such as transposing, which is public to use when on desktop, are locked “unless you get the free app.” After finally downloading the app and turning down the offer to pay for a subscription, all the features which were advertised as “being available in the free app” were still locked. The app is almost if not MORE unusable than viewing in-browser. It’s even more frustrating because I know that these features are free to use when on a computer. I think it’s rather classist to have these features only free for people who can afford to have a full computer.
App is charging me even though I didn’t buy pro
by osb0rn on 2020/10/20 20:23
I never paid for pro, I’ve never had pro, yet I just received a receipt for my annual pro membership renewal. There is no option to cancel, nothing I can do about it at all. What the hell is this scam bs?!
This app is crap
by potpie1342 on 2020/10/20 14:41
Firstly I have been trying for weeks to figure out how to cancel! There is no cancel option for this app only to downgrade. I do. It recommend this app as I am not a fan of the scam!
Not what it used to be...
by Maddiev29 on 2020/10/20 06:53
I’ve had Guitar Tabs for YEARS. It was a wonderful option for a complete novice guitar player such as myself. However, now that they have switched over to the whole membership thing, the app has become practically useless for me. Heck, I can’t even look at the “official “ tabs of songs! As a beginner, simplifying songs and being able to play along are key points that I absolutely loved in this app... before it changed. Now, since I can’t afford lessons or the subscriptions, I’m still stuck at beginner. I know that they have to make their money somehow, but I wish that they would make just a couple things available to the “free” members.
Don't waste your time.
by El_Cid on 2020/10/20 03:22
The "help" and "account" settings always just say "error". Most of the tabs are identical, and of poor quality. The moderators are hit and miss. Some are decent, others are somewhere between rude, and completely worthless. Oh well, those who can "do", and those who can't, apparently moderate web sites these days. There are better sites, and better apps. Don't waste your time.

Well...amateur turns pro
by dickhaloren on 2020/10/19 07:09
I’ve been mediocre all my guitar playing life. This app gives me confidence and a slight edge.
I don’t recommend
by TIKt0k2020 on 2020/10/19 03:52
I hate these types of apps, Everything you try to do it asks you to pay money. If you don’t want to pay 6 dollars a month I don’t recommend this.

Great!
by AlrightKewl on 2020/10/18 05:26
Now while I will admit, locking some tabs behind a paywall completely is kinda dumb, (I’m thinking just turn off backing tracks for non-pro members using pro tabs) the app is amazing, especially if you can cough up the only $10 a year with the back to school discount. Top notch.
No
by Dewey_McFelon on 2020/10/18 03:05
Don’t include songs for us to download your app and find nothing. False advertising
This app is awful
by Katniss E. on 2020/10/17 21:38
I only got the app so that I could transpose the music but I have to pay to get transposing option which means it’s not free to transpose unlike it says in the ads. 1 Star

Terrible app
by Chancellor of RadNation on 2020/10/17 05:11
Figure it out. I’m on the website looking at “To make you feel my love” cover by Adele. I click the “Open in App” button then it takes me to the App Store. You don’t know I have the app downloaded?! Figure it out.
So far so good!

Having a fun time playing my favorite songs!
Maybe it was me
by some random guy review on 2020/10/16 18:19
The sound quality was terrible. I sound like i didn’t give the app a chance, but the sound it was playing sounded distorted and weird. Like I said maybe it was me, but last time I checked my phone sound worked fine.
I enjoyed the app
by The real Andyb on 2020/10/15 22:22
It helped me become a better musician and find chords to my favorite songs
Great tabs!
by ilovebaboo on 2020/10/15 17:34
I’m a newbie to the ukulele and these instructions make it so easy to follow. I also can’t believe how many different songs are here - $uicide boy$ to Melanie Martinez and the Gorillaz! I love them all so much. Thank you :)
Cant print on TABS app anymore, what the hell is going on!?

Cant print on this app anymore, what is going ?!!
charging me for nothing lol
by kelmpb on 2020/10/14 20:47
when i downloaded this app, i was not ever given a free option (which they insist there is) but only a free TRIAL option. i cancelled my free trial. they are still trying to charge me $20, which is currently pending in my bank with nothing i can do about it. i used this app a grand total of once, and it is definitely not worth the hidden $20 price tag.
Amazing

Pro ???
by ikomiko on 2020/10/11 18:32
What happened to my Transpose function? I had it since 2013. I went ahead and purchased Pro version today ($29.99 1 year) and I still have none of the Pro features, no Transpose. Your help FAQS suggested that I sign in. So I went to setting>sign out, and signed in. Nothing. Please help!
Fret neck is covering up tabs
by JohanUSA on 2020/10/11 06:39
The fret neck is covering up tab line being played during scrolling. The default size is way too small. Should zoom in to a reasonable size you can easily see. This happens every time you open a new tab. There is no transpose feature. You can’t highlight a section and replay it repeatedly to learn a section. You can’t use the page/line foot controllers for scrolling.
Tuner
by hdhdhdjdhsjdjdjsjsjsjs on 2020/10/10 23:26
Paid for the tuner years ago and now have to pay for a monthly subscription? How does that work. I loved this app in the past but it may be time for a free tuning app
Search bar stopped working
by BeniLouDea on 2020/10/10 16:16
I have used this app for so many years and I’ve enjoyed it and it helped me but recently the search bar stopped working and I can’t seem to search for any new songs this has been very troubling because I have so many songs in my database but I am afraid if I delete it and get it new again I won’t have all my music this is very frustrating and I need help.

Awesome resource
by Mindgamer2 on 2020/10/09 19:37
As a second time beginner guitarist I have greatly enjoyed the extensive access two most of the many songs that I love. And I love a lot of songs. The ability to simplify and transpose keys is extraordinary. The auto scroll is incredibly helpful. I’ve been encouraging all of my friends to download this app. I do not always agree with the chords provided in some of the songs so being able to edit and personalize is essential. This process is relatively easy on my computer but not so much on my iPhone. It would be great if it could be made easier there also as I usually play off of my phone.
Long time user tired of add-ons
by Pick2020 on 2020/10/09 02:10
I’ve had this app for years and it is great for tabs and chords. I just wish they would stop adding unnecessary things to it. If I wanted to share videos I would get on Facebook or YouTube.

app update caused pedal not to work
by AndyCorson on 2020/10/08 21:17
I like this app and I subscribed to the pro version. I purchased an air turn duo pedal to use with UG but it just randomly stopped working only with the UG app. Worked fine with other apps. UG quickly fixed the bug, though, so I’m updating my initial review. This app is definitely best with a pro subscription, and they usually have good deals on a 1 year sub.
Got scammed
by Jeremyk729 on 2020/10/08 19:38
Downloaded the app and signed up for the free-trial account which was linked to my Apple Card. Pretty sure they said they would alert me before my card got charged but the only “alert” I got was from Apple that my card was charged $42.49. It was only later when I got home from work that I saw I had gotten an email from APPLE that my subscription would be renewed for $39.99 for a year subscription? First of all, I did not agree to that and second, even if I did, why are you charging me for the highest payment option?!?! I tried to find someone to contact from their customer service but there is literally nowhere to do that and since I signed up for an account on the app, there isn’t even a place to view your account settings in the app?!?! So I can’t find any record of being signed up to a premium account in my own account anywhere. I’m pretty past the point of ever using their app or site again not that I was since the premium features aren’t even good. I’ll be using Songstr or somewhere else from now on unless maybe someone from their app or site contacts me and we can get this figured out. This is really frustrating and very sketchy.
Best place to find guitar chords for songs I’m trying to learn

Bam baby!
by ikn0wledge on 2020/10/07 19:24
Best app I’ve found. Worth the 30 bucks a year.
Good but could use improvements and bug fixes
by Oops, Something's Gone Wrong on 2020/10/07 17:25
Freezes and crashes randomly while looking at songs, and in landscape mode, it’s not clear what chords to play where. With piano, inversions, left hand, and chords with a different base note (C#/A) aren’t specified anywhere. The backing tracks are unnecessary (is it helpful for anyone? I just use the metronome if anything) and just slow down the page. It is a cool app, though, and while I do have these complaints, I’ve been subscribed for a while and use it daily!
confused and annoyed?
by password****🦄 on 2020/10/07 16:53
Just to be clear, I love this app, but last night it seemed to have a whole new format which I was really excited about! There was a feature where you could scroll through all the tabs you’ve viewed after linking your email, which I did. This morning, the format seems to have changed again, and the feature is gone. Am I crazy? Am I looking in the wrong place? The app didn’t update or anything
Nice

Best song learning app
by Tytllhere on 2020/10/07 14:58
Probably my favorite app I own, and since they added piano chord shapes this year as well it’s even better. I’ve been using it for piano for years and it has given me immeasurable joy. Only thing is I would encourage the website crew to reinforce the website to work without linking every step to the app, bc when the app isn’t working, I really need to be able to use the website. Not often, but upsetting when happening.

Best Guitar App but..
by Murdocman on 2020/10/06 17:23
This is by far the best app anyone can find; my account is PRO and i enjoy it very much. There is just one thing that i’ve observed when using the app there is a LAG even if my net connection is fast and even while searching on my downloaded tabs. I don't know if it is a bug or something, all i know is that when i use other app on my ipad it feels very smooth and have no lag at all. I got Lag only in this app. Hope anyone can fix this. Also i would like to add that if possible, there will be an option for us pro user to pay for an “Official Transcription” song request just in case we really need to learn a certain song quickly but there is no available pro tab in your library without the need of votes. It will be of great help. Rock on!!!
Your app is absolute garbage.
by Splourde23 on 2020/10/06 16:51
I’ve been a loyal user of your services for the entirety of my guitar playing career, over 10 years now. I’m thankful for what you guys do, but with that said this app is a steaming pile of manure. It glitches constantly, crashes 3/5 times I try and play a song on pro-tabs. It really needs to be fixed.
Misleading

Issues now not working at all
by PeregrinePlays on 2020/10/05 22:17
I was using the app as usual. Then it randomly closed. That happened from time to time, but when I went to reopen it, all I got was a blank dark screen. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it still wouldn’t work. I restarted my phone and same thing. Finally, I got it to work, but when I go to login to my pro account, everything is gone!!!!!!! All of my favorites and setting and everything from over 5 years of membership. I am livid!

Sorry to see someone else has the same problem I do!
by just …Sara on 2020/10/05 06:38
I have the same problem that another one of your subscribers had. (Drwho0204). I paid for the whole Premium Package deal On August 11, 2014. I just went and looked up my purchases (I took a screenshot) because I knew I’d had it for a long time and I paid for the Premium Package back then. I was informed today! I use it almost every day, I love it!! It’s the best app for chords I’ve ever seen or used. Funny, only 1 time was I not able to find a song I was looking for! And love that the piano is now included. And all the other terrific features it offered. Hope that gets taken care of. Not trying to be ugly, but I went and checked my purchases, I knew I had bought the Premium Package years ago. So… I’m really really shocked to see I’m being charged. If so, I believe you’ll do the honorable thing, and refund if so. I’m gonna try what the other person said they did . Delete it and then reinstalled it,I hope that it comes back as it was, because… Man I’m not paying for it again. I already did in 2014. The same exact thing happened to me as him. I really love the app. If I have problems … I read where to let you know. Thank you. Sara (lol…both nicknames I tried might be me)

Can’t search now since most recent update
by Capt. Superdude on 2020/10/03 15:39
Since the most recent update I can not search through my favorites or use text in the search at all. Am I missing something? Until now I have used this app for next to everything with the exception of some shaggy songs it has been a big help.
Enabling my practice like NO other resource!
by zje112 on 2020/10/03 13:25
This is my favorite app. Period. I picked up guitar at the start of COVID. The online classes are all well and good, but I started losing interest in the drills and exercises early on. This app helped me find songs I actually wanted to practice along with! Everything is in it and the user community is massive. A few months later, I’ve saved over 100 tabs, and added the songs to a Spotify playlist to play along to. I’m playing better and better each week because I’m able to practice and learn new chords. Six months in, I’m excited to say I’m finally picking up bar chords! I wouldn’t have gotten here without Tabs!

Easy access to a tom of tabs plus pro gives you midi for tabs that have it which you you can slow down or speed up. Hard to beat. I will say i wish it had a way to search for songs by tuning. I love trying different tunings out and it’d be awesome if there was a quick way to find more songs in the tuning im playing

The latest update make adding songs to a playlist hard to do now that the “+” and checks are dark and don’t change to orange like they used to. Can you change this? Please?

Great app except for ads
by statusquofugitive on 2020/10/01 16:27
If this were a free app I'd have no complaints but I paid $5 and the persistence of ads and whatnot that pops up every single time I use the app is beyond irritating. Selling additional features through in app purchase is fine but don't force people to click through ads just to get to the functionality they paid for. Update: broke my iPhone and got an iPad to replace it (partially so I could read music more easily). Now the transpose and autoscroll features require that I pay a subscription fee to use not to mention the persistence of obnoxious ads. I want my money back!!!

Thank you. Sara (lol…both nicknames I tried might be me)
Great app, I recommend but...
by Geometry dash3000 on 2020/03/17 00:23
I love this app. I’ve learned so much about guitar and enjoy learning how to play songs I love on the guitar. I bought the premium version on last (cyber Monday I believe) and it was worth it. More access to better tabs and also autoscoll which is great. But the one thing that always gets on my nerves is that I can’t remember a time that I’ve had this app (for almost two years now) that it hasn’t had A LOT of annoying bugs. Sometimes tabs take forever to load, other times just everything is slow. And currently, there’s no way for me to record something and retake it (go back) if I don’t want to publish it or save it to my library so I just have to exit the app altogether and wait for everything to reload to get back to the tabs I was using. Overall I would recommend it because despite the long waits for the tabs and such, its a great app to teach yourself guitar with. However, I would just ask that the developers spend less time reviewing the videos people post (there’s little need for these videos to be reviewed for inappropriate content, I’ve watched plenty of other people’s videos and I’ve never seen anything inappropriate there before, just make sure there’s a clear way to report someone if it’s necessary) and spend more time fixing the countless bugs and wait time for the tabs, it would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
They took everything I paid for away
by Drwho0204 on 2018/02/01 12:56
About six months ago maybe longer I bought the premium package deal thing. I mainly used it for the interactive tabs. Loved all the new features. I don’t know if this is a bug or something y’all planned but everything I paid for is not available anymore. It says that I need to upgrade to the full version. I already own it and I’m not paying for it again. I don’t know if you thought you could take it away and give it back after I payed for it again, but I’m not buying it agains. I truly hope this is a bug because I loved the app, but after this I don’t think anyone should it if they are going to steal your money Alright disregard my last post. During the full version deal there was a timer. It wouldn’t let me use any of the features I purchased. The full version deal would show up every time I tried to do anything that required the full version. After the timer went away it still wouldn’t let me access it. I waited a day to see if anything would happen. Nothing happened. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It now lets me use everything that I bought. I am so thankful this was bug because I loved the app. Other than an actual guitar tutor this is the best place to learn. I would highly recommend the full version as it is very useful.
Hands down best app on my phone!
by IPhone-All-the-Way on 2020/07/14 04:03
Had it for years. Paid for it once years ago (not sure if thats still how it works..) but arguably the best money I’ve spent on anything musical. This is no advertisement btw, just a guy who has saved hours upon hours of time learning songs by reading tabs/chords entered by other people who have already put in the time and serious effort for the benefit of all those who learn the song later. You can transpose the song into any key higher or lower to comfortably sing it or make it you own, have the page auto scroll as you go, hear the song too if you like, touch any chord and see the various ways it can be played (now on a piano and ukele as well.. excellent update btw, THANK YOU!) You can give feedback messages to those who create the tabs to collaborate in effort to make the perfect tab, any song you can think of is there and for many of the most popular songs you can get the exact sound effect for your guitar with the integration of “Tonebridge”. Well done. I can’t say enough good things. Just thanks, thank you, and thanks again! —A long time fan and one happy customer—
One sweet app
by carriosity on 2018/06/28 13:57
I grew up in a family where making music was an everyday occurrence. My dad played guitar and banjo. I started playing rhythm guitar when I was about 13. But then life happened and when I was about 29 years old, I lost my guitar in a divorce and haven’t had one since. (Warning...don’t get into a bad marriage with a musician). That was more than 20 years ago. Just bought an Epiphone acoustic and I’m shocked at how quickly muscle memory and strumming patterns are coming back. Except my old lady brain can’t automatically find the right chords for songs the way it used to. This app has seriously helped with this issue. So far, I have not thought of one song that I want to play that this app doesn’t include. Add to that, the ability to listen to new songs, and play along if you want, right in the app...that’s just awesome. I can’t read tabs but I may learn since that’s included as well. Anyway, thanks to the developers for this unusually helpful and functional product. Thanks to Ultimate Guitar, my husband, who is a drummer and has never picked up a guitar before, is now learning as well. 👍🏼

Want to Learn There’s No Better Place to Start
by Chris MF Smith on 2020/07/04 22:50
This app is probably one of the best ever made for iOS. Wish they made it for MacBook Pro OS X. Tons of songs, tons of functions and now becoming a community. Worth the tiny yearly price without a doubt. It will show notation bars along with tabs right under. You can slow the song down or speed it up as you learn. One of the best functions is the ability to high light bars and put them on repeat enabling you to work on bars that can be particularly tough. Using the Tonebridge app lets you use a digital foot pedal that sets up your guitar to sound like which ever song your playing. Clapton, Metallica, Jack Johnson, Eddie Van Halen, Jerry Garcia, Allman Brothers, Pink Floyd you name it. The Tonebridge also gives you a backing track. The back track steps Ultimate Guitar to legendary status by allowing you to play and instrument. Bass, Lead, Rhythm it gives you to pick the instrument. From beginners to pros this app is top notch resource. You will need an interface I have the Apogee Jam+ but there’s others. Go to you local independent music shop and support you local businesses.
Not what I thought I was paying for.
by Roguepandabear on 2019/08/27 08:38
I rarely ever write reviews on apps but this one made the acceptation. I’ve been using ultimate guitar on my laptop for years for free. I saw the app and it cost money but I thought it would be worth it to have it on my iPad, little did I know the charges didn’t stop there. Most of the content is only accessible if you pay for the monthly pro membership. If you don’t have the membership you can’t use the transpose function, every time you open a cord chart up you’ll have an advertisement pop up that you can’t close for at least thirty seconds and I’d say half of the content isn’t available unless you pay for the pro subscription. I’m really disappointed with their app and the fact that I payed for the app in the first place only to find out it’s set up like a free trial app that you have to pay that monthly subscription to have full use of it and to get rid of annoying advertisements. It’s probably all written out in the fine print what is available and I (like 99% of people) didn’t take the time to read the terms & conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this app to a friend, the website is still free but now covered in advertisements in the middle of the songs if you’re not a pro subscriber. Ultimate guitar used to be an amazing place for people to learn songs.
Revised Review - much better on second look
by AttendeeX on 2018/12/31 04:11
I struggled with my first try of the app at the free membership level (see old review below - probably was trying to use a "Pro" tab while at free membership tier). Given the overwhelming positive reviews I switched to the web version, thinking "it can't be this bad - has to be me". It was me. I had such better luck with the web version that I upgraded my subscription for use on the laptop. Now, with a little familiarity, life is way better in the app too. Plenty of novice-level tabs available. I'm using favorites, playlists, requesting new tabs from the community and authoring my own. Ultimate Guitar is my daily practice partner. Wouldn't want to live without it. Already well worth the annual subscription and will get more value as my playing improves. [OLD REVIEW]Sorry, unusable here. Every time I click on the song I want to see I get the video ad to upgrade to pro. Dismiss the ad and I'm back in the main menu. I can't tell that this is anything but spam. Not enticing me to upgrade.[/OLD REVIEW]
Love this app! But there is one problem...
by D cytfth on 2019/12/27 02:41
When I first started playing guitar, I was over the moon when I found this app! This app has helped me to learn so many chords and songs on my guitar but I have one problem with it. Whenever I want to play a song for a friend or a family member, I constantly have to pause in the middle of the song to scroll down so I can see the next part of the song. There is an autoscroll setting, but it’s only for premium users😕. This has become a problem for me because autoscroll -to me- seems like an essential requirement to play through a whole song for other people without having to memorize every single chord and when the chords come in, PLUS the lyrics! I think it’s good that there is a premium purchase because some of the premium stuff is VERY high quality. But autoscroll? I think that it should be available to all users so everyone can play the songs that they want and not have to stop the song every 10 seconds to scroll. That’s just my opinion, but it’s an opinion I feel very strongly about. Otherwise, this app is amazing for both beginners and experts!♥️♥️
Honest review
by DoM_76 on 2019/10/25 01:21
So let’s start of with the good things and then move on I like how this is unique considering the fact that there isn’t anything quite like it it has thousands of useful tabs all amazing to play and many ways to teach you how to play songs it’s truly amazing however not every tab is accessible because of how you have to pay to use certain features like chords and a tuner however there is many free tuners and places where u can find chords so I find this odd another thing is that I think that they should remove what you have to pay for and make it free but because I know you want money u can push the adds be different more different then you already are how about try things like amps and pedals or a tuner for guitars with more then 6 strings or just tubers for more stringed instruments the possibilities are endless I am sure you don’t need a unintelligent 12 year old to tell you to get money people care about the quality not about how much time they spend watching ads Spend a day of two just to look at different apps find the problems with them and make ur own
My favorite guitar site!
by roadapple_gl on 2018/10/02 02:24
Thanks for this. I use this app more than any other. I can learn chord progressions, lyrics and most anything that I need for playing out, playing new songs in worship service, or just for fun. I invested in a pro account a few years ago and I highly recommend it! You can learn how to play a song in the same key as the original recording, or in a simpler progression to match your skill level; or to a key that is easier to sing with. There are a ton of great songs on this site, in just about every genre you can think of... for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass (electric and acoustic), piano, violin and even ukulele! Most people making comments on this site are trying to be helpful, although there are always some that are quick to criticize, but offer no correction or suggestions; but unfortunately, you will find that on just about any site on the net. Give the Ultimate Guitar app a fair try, and I am sure you will find something useful to help you get to your next evolution of your guitar journey.
Need much improvement.
by MisterCap88 on 2017/12/10 23:30
Many of the tabs I have used have been fairly decent. But many of them absolutely terrible. When you use the interactive tab, most of the music that goes along with the tabs aren’t matched with the tabs themselves. So the tabs being played on the interactive fretboard, aren’t going along with the music making it very difficult to play along or learn. There’s is also the brain and chromatic tuner problem. When using the brain tuner, I need to reset the app each time because it won’t make any sound for me to hear. With the chromatic tuner, I can play an E and it’s trying to tune a G. The tuner cannot pick up the string I’m trying to tune. Which isn’t a huge deal, it is a tuner on a phone. Lastly, I spent about $15 on this app with upgrades and I have nothing. Not sure what my money went towards, but the app keeps asking me to pay to get new features that I was under the impression I already had. When purchasing, it said I had all features, so still very confused. But what I have learned from this app has been good, lots of great tabs to choose from, just wish it functioned better, and wish I got my money’s worth.
Lying to make a few bucks off of me
by Meeklekinz on 2018/09/19 18:05
I have been a devout user of Ultimate Guitar since probably 2008. I have always appreciated them as they always have always been a dependable source for me. Even when they finally created a smartphone app. I was all on board to pay for it. Recently, I decided to try out the pro side of things. I liked the features, but I have to admit, I hit a pretty rough spot financially, so I needed to cut back on a lot of small things. Like a monthly $7.99 charge. Well, after I couldn’t figure out how to cancel (users fault, I admit) I contacted UG and asked them to help cancel my subscription. They swore up and down that it was apples subscription and I needed to take it up with them. So I tried to figure it out to no avail. A month went by and I admittedly forgot because a lot went on. Another charge. So I contacted UG. Same response swearing up and down it isn’t them. So I contact apple and they point out that it is UG making the charges. I finally figure out how and where to manage my subscription and cancel it. I know I am at fault for being an idiot and not knowing how to cancel it myself. But why in the world would you guys not just help me out?? Screw you and I hope that extra cash you got from me makes all the difference in your lives.
Crashes occasionally, but still provides a great service
by TheFlyingM on 2019/04/23 22:09
Haven’t purchased a pro membership, but the free tabs they offer are great. Definitely my go-to source for guitar tab, and the app makes browsing on mobile much easier than in a web browser (though I gotta admit the way the website pushes you to download the app is pretty annoying). Occasionally the app freezes unexpectedly when looking at tabs. Only way I’ve been able to fix it is by killing the app and restarting, and even then I have to wait 5-10 seconds on restart before it reloads to the home page. Then have to find the tab I was on again, which sometimes isn’t the easiest if you’re like me and browse a lot of different tabs for the same song: then your search history is filled with links to every individual tab that you’ve viewed for that song. Ended up just signing in to my account so I could favorite tabs. It’s still pretty annoying to have the app crash in the middle of practicing though.
Was once a great app, not anymore
by SarahIsABaker on 2018/03/01 05:25
I’ve been using this app for years, and loved it. I paid for the app when it was a flat fee, and once they started adding more features I paid for those too. I used to use it all the time to learn new tabs. It used to be a 5 star app, that I recommended to anyone who plays the guitar or ukulele. With this new update, it’s useless. Constantly crashes, seems to have a mind of its own opening and closing tabs, speeding up and down when auto scrolling (going from .5 speed to 1.5 for example, on its own half way through a song) This is extremely frustrating when you’re trying to learn a new song, especially when you’ve paid for the service. I’ve sent two emails to the developers via the app, and never heard back, which is why I’m finally posting a review, since it appears they don’t care. I have the iPhone X, so it shouldn’t be an issue of compatibility. The update seemed great at first until I discovered all the problems. It seems like they were too focused on getting the update live, and ignored the fact it obviously wasn’t ready. I kept hoping they would fix it, but I tried using it again just a couple minutes ago before writing a review and it’s still has all these issues.
Rendered useless by pop ups
by smk725 on 2020/06/20 15:36
Ultimate guitar, the website used to be a premium place to get accurate tabs and featured good adds that didn’t clutter the screen. Now the website pushes you onto the app which may actually be nice but since it constantly bombards you with pop ups to subscribe it’s useless. I can’t even have the opportunity to try the app to see if it’s worth subscribing too. I have no faith in paying for an app that the makers don’t have the confidence in letting you use it without starting a “free trial “ or grab your information. Ultimate guitar is now rendered useless by their aggressive add targeting. I will much easily find tabs elsewhere. It’s like this... sometimes you quickly need to fingertip a lick or song on the fly and ultimate guitar does not allow this due to aggressive pop ups. If they haven’t caught on to how a guitar players workflow is by now and simply cause frustration when you are working on the fly then I have no faith or trust that their app is any good. I will use one of the other free it less aggressive services. It’s shady. I rarely give poor reviews but the makers of this app would have something investing in if they would think like a guitarist and not waste our time. They may also be wasting our money.
The Best
by hellohellohello1209 on 2018/05/09 15:32
Been using this site for my tab needs ever since I started playing. And saying that it has been an awesome experience would be an understatement. There are new tabs being posted constantly. There are almost always multiple renditions of the same song depending on your difficulty level (which really helped me progress). And such a personal company that I was able to send in a suggestion to improve the site, and within a few weeks the new feature was added. Whenever I go to any other tab platform, I end up feeling discouraged by the lack of interactivity and personalization ultimate guitar provides, especially if you spend the couple bucks for tab pro. Then wait around for Black Friday and pick up a lifetime subscription for like 60 bucks. The community is also an awesome point that must be touched on. All constructive feed back. And whenever you feel a tab is a little off, you can go to the feedback and usually someone has already posted the solution.
Greatest thing since sliced bread...
by Tex B on 2018/07/23 00:46
I started playing the ukulele about eight months ago. I was pretty well organized I had set up files for each song and put the research that I was able to find off the Internet into each of the file folders set up for each of the songs. It’s a lot of work. With this app you have everything you want in one place. Somebody has already done the research for you and has found the tabs, solos, the actual song itself and then the lyrics. This is the only app and in fact it’s the only place that you can find all of these needed tools in one place. I spent a lot of time consuming hours finding this same information and putting it together myself. You don’t need to do that or do what I did because all you need is this app. So going forward now when I learned a new song I don’t have to spend half the time researching and locate in the information. With this app I can now just identify the song and start playing. Thank you.
Hello from Tennessee
by brianjames8282 on 2019/02/19 01:37
I am a 36 year old bass musician who plays at local bars and in my at home studio. I love that I can look up almost any song in your search bar and have the tablature right in front of me. Not only for the bass, but I can get tabs for lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin or any other instrument that was used to record that particular song. The reason I gave the app 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the accuracy of some of the tabs. I know that most of them were written by users and are the users interpretations of the song. Also several versions are usually available but sometimes the tabs are so far away from what was actually written by the artist that it could be a completely different song altogether. It just seems like there should be some kind of proof reading/editing. At least for the tabs that have such a large difference from what the original artist wrote. Other than that I love the app! It has helped me learn songs for years. Keep up the good work and please take my criticism as constructive. Thanks.
Great for finding worship lyrics and chords
by Nickoman333 on 2020/08/18 15:49
As a music worship leader, and as someone who doesn’t like wasting time, this app is great for finding chords and lyrics to worship songs quickly. And because people can submit their own versions, I am sometimes exposed to some unique arrangements that I prefer over the originals. My only request would be that the auto scrolling matches whatever tempo we want to play to the song. It can get frustrating trying to get the scrolling set to just the right speed so you’re not having speed up or slow down your playing. Maybe that’s only doable on the songs original version, but maybe it’s possible to set the tempo and have the text scroll to match it? I’m not a developer, so I don’t know how easy or difficult that would be to do. If you are looking for a way to find chords and lyrics (worship or otherwise), I highly recommend this app. Thank you to the developers and to everyone contributes their versions of songs.
Disappointed
by maria_gomez on 2018/09/22 22:46
I really enjoy guitar tabs. It makes it very easy to learn tabs and learn new songs. Guitar Tabs has been a really helpful tool while learning how to play guitar. There is one flaw though, a few months ago, I did a free trial for I believe 30 days. When it was done I deleted my pro account, but weeks later I found it was still saying I had a pro account. I checked my credit card to see if it was still charging me, and yes it was. I went to account settings to delete it, but there was no way to delete the account. I looked up how and it seemed impossible to get off my pro account. Sadly, I decided the only way to get off pro was to delete my account. I was very sad to do this because I thoroughly enjoyed using this app, but there seemed no other way around it. When I went to delete my account I found there was also no way to delete my account. I looked up how, but as before, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t just delete my account, I would still be paying for the account. Today still, I don’t know what to do. I would suggest you don’t get this app because they literally make it impossible to get rid of it.

Yes, it is not all inclusive if every single aspect of the music industry, but expecting that of anything in any culture or app is ridiculous. What it DOES have is a huge selection, with input from common folk like myself up to the big wig professionals and bands we all idolize and adore. I have been able to teach myself so much that I never knew was out there, on multiple instruments, thanks to this app. I first discovered it several years ago when it was just a website, and now as they features are added to this app and are continuously improved upon, I continue to find new information and aspects that push me and drive me to learn. My band I am in that is trying to make it big has been able to use this as an amazing resource as well. They are also fantastic at responding to customers and their reviews, and making sure that everyone has the best experience possible. Thank you Ultimate-Guitar!

I bought this app probably about 8 years ago when it cost 5 or 6 bucks. Pretty expensive for an app back then. Anyway you didn’t need to login to an account, and there were a few more free features included like free chord charts. Anyway, somewhere along the line they decided to make the app free and then charge you like 8 bucks a month for all the features that used to come when you just bought the app, and since I had not created an account I got completely screwed out of the money I paid for the app and now can’t even use the features I used to have access to. When I tried to email customer service about this to try and get my features back they were not helpful at all! They essentially called me a liar by trying to poke holes in my story and never once tried to right THEIR wrong. Never left a review for anything on line, but I have also never been this furious about the way I have been treated. I feel like trying to get someone to pay for the same thing twice is the definition of a con. Can not believe ultimate guitar, shame on them, I will find a different tab website to use. Would rate zero stars if I could.
Updated. Wish we could change print font
by Qwertyasdfghzxcvbn4 on 2020/04/03 17:41
I’m on a free trial. MAIN GRIPE. When I go to print I cannot change the font size. I have to copy and paste (you can do this from the pro version print screen) to notepad in order to change the printing font size. The entire reason I tried the pro was to be able to print, which it does.... but it’s incredibly small and doesnt allow you to adjust anything. Half of a verse or chorus will be on page one and then you’ll end up with just a couple lines on page 2. I will probably cancel before I get charged for the year. Of there was printing font adjustments I would absolutely be a long time customer. If your only going to use an iPad it’s a useful app. OLD NOTES PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. I have an iPad Pro. The app doesn’t work. I try to search for a song. Song shows up. Click on it and nothing happens. I try to go back, app is frozen and I have to force close. I’m on version 13.3.1 I’ll have to stick to he website. Make sure it works before you buy it!
Great App, Very Useful!
by Noot40 on 2019/05/07 02:17
This is a fantastic app and a MUST for any guitar player, new to the instrument or professional. I really love the fact that they include chords for other instruments for songs as well(guitar, bass, ukelele, etc.). This app is definitely a very efficient way of finding chords and words to your favorite songs and learning how to play them. If I could suggest one thing to the developers, it would be that there was an option where you could choose a certain genre of music and be provided a list of songs with varying difficulty in that genre. At times, I’ve wanted to play different songs than the ones I had in My Tabs but I wasn’t exactly sure what to play. As nice as the preset playlists are within the app, many of them don’t apply to my personal interests or provide enough options for songs. This feature would definitely make this app shine more than it already is! Well done and keep doing what you do best!
Great Support

This app (The paid version) is extremely amazing with everything that it does. I've only been playing guitar for about two weeks now, but I've already gotten quite a few chords down and transitioning as well as strumming pattern. I've yet to search for a song too and not be able to find it! Aside from that, the favorites are really awesome too. I'm able to pretty much recalibrate the song by editing lyrics or chords, allowing me to edit it to my own liking and allowing me to practice something that's more my level. Pretty much able to clean songs that have a great message but maybe a couple of cuss words, you know? Or implement the placement of a chord/strumming order etc in a place that it isn't written at. Anyways, I'm pretty much ranting now XD I just highly recommend getting this app if you really want to be able to learn guitar or honestly even some other instruments such as ukelele or maybe even piano, etc.
Practically Perfect Except For One Thing
by Big mama45 on 2019/06/16 00:04
I had recently found an old ukulele in my room and wanted to stay playing. I downloaded the app after seeing a few ads and really enjoyed it. Their collection of songs is extraordinary and I learned many new songs. I never purchased premium, because I’m not that serious of a player, and the app was still great without having yo pay. When opening new tabs, an ad will open up, no problem I just wait until I can click out of it. Recently however, the ad, even after a an x appears in the corner and I’ve clicked it several times, still remains. I get stuck on that screen, but my phone itself is fine. When I close the app and restart it, this problem still occurs. Eventually it resolves itself. This has happened a few times in the past month or so, but I would not let it prevent you from downloading the app. Altogether, it is well done and useful.
Great. I spend most of my free time with this app
by Lanceg02 on 2019/07/01 19:25
I found this app while searching for guitar tabs on safari. My first impression of this app was bad because after downloading the app and opening it from safari it looked like the tab i wanted to play was premium only. I tried another tab and it said the same. I deleted the app but after a few weeks i went back to the internet to look for more tabs for songs i love and re-downloaded the app. I saw the same thing from the first time but decided to try it out. Once i figured out how to work the app i fell in love with it. I now use this app whenever i get bored or want to play the guitar which is most of the time since schools let out for summer and i stay at home all day. Thank you so much for this app and if i had the money i would buy premium just to support the creators of this app. Keep working on this app to keep it up to date and make it even better!!
Few bugs but great overall
by LTDplayer on 2018/04/13 14:58
I’ve been using this app for about 3 years. I’m a self-taught guitarist so using this app really makes learning songs easy and quick to learn. As for those of you who want to learn guitar, this app will be your best friend in learning any songs you’re heart desires, just not every song is available FYI. A down side I had is the price. Yes, you have to pay for the app which I thought that was it but once purchased you also have to purchase the “PRO” edition in the app. Yes it was a bummer but I didn’t mind paying extra for the PRO. As for the new version they come out with, its great, excellent design for the platform but, and I say this because most users also have this issue, it’s become very problematic. What I say by this is that I’ve had the issue with the app freezing and lagging either on the search or on the tabs which became quite annoying having to refresh the app constantly. Overall, it is an excellent app just, it just need better maintenance.
Awesome!!!
by DBarnhoff on 2017/11/14 23:00
I've been using this app for around three years now and I still utilize it daily! When I decided to actually start taking guitar playing seriously, with the goal of being able to play and sing songs from start to finish, I knew I'd need a good reference guide for song chords. I tried a couple free apps first before I bought the full version... wasted time. For around twelve bucks, since I wanted all the options at the time, I have a great tool to practice with. Being able to have the lyrics and chords scrolling as the song plays has been so helpful. I went from learning chord shapes to playing and singing confidently on stage with my band. I was just a singer at first... now I'm center stage playing and singing so many of my favorites. Either at home with friends and family or on stage for strangers, I can now fully enjoy sharing music with others and feel like I wrote the songs myself. Thanks for this app!
You are not ‘too busy’ to pick up your guitar!
by jtlbell on 2019/12/10 06:40
As someone who used to go to the music store with a pocket full of change to buy sheet music when I first learned to play, this is really technology at its finest. I’m having so much fun. This afternoon, I totally wasted $15 on a burrito and beer that made me feel terrible but the $15 I just spent renewing my pro account made me feel so happy. I like the camaraderie of other musicians posting their covers as well. It provides good inspiration to not make excuses and sit down for at least 30 min a day. Given the number of years I’ve had a guitar in my room, I should have my 10,000 hours in already if I didn’t use life as an excuse to avoid pursuing my passion. Since my phone is always in my pocket anyways, I just find a new song to play and tap it out for when I get home, which I find to be a significantly better use of my time than scroll through news sites or social media.
Guitar help you seek= this app helps

I love that I can learn new songs every day and learn them better and more efficient. All the cool gadgets you have like time, tempo, metronome, and other awesome things just make me love the app more. Totally worth paying for. I had been playing guitar for a while but I wanted more challenges, and now I have them. Learning by ear does not to justice to the complex rhythms and things that show up in tabs! Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity to improve my skills! I guess it must have been quite difficult to dissect so many songs and I thank you!!! Great app for any level guitar player! I am a little confused though. I’ve heard a lot about this app being free, yet I did have to pay. I think it’s totally worth it and I got a great deal, but I don’t know exactly what I bought now that I’ve heard a lot of responses about this being free. But a great app and I appreciate the effort this took to make.
Love us still the answer

Hello, my name is Kathe. I am 66 years old, retired and live in Oklahoma City, OK. Just found this song and keep listening to it over and over. I play the guitar but not that well anymore. I have played since I was about 15 years old...no lessons, just taught myself. This quarantine is hard because my son and his wife live in Montgomery, New York and my daughter and her husband and my two grandsons live here, but are under very strict quarantine due to her auto-immune status. So we see each other only on the phone. I am going to try and learn this song so I can sing it to the kids at the school where I usually substitute teach when we finally get through this quarantine! Thanks so much for sharing this song!! I have some problems with depression on a ‘good’ day so I need good songs and feelings to get me through. God bless all of you and thanks for the song, and letting me share!! Love really is the answer!
My thoughts on Ultimate Guitar app
by Tomy tony timmy on 2020/04/21 01:43
This app is f’n great. Wether you’re learning how to play guitar/bass/piano/ukulele or if you already know how to play. They have most songs you could ever want. And then so many other features to the app. You can connect with other musicians, and watch them play/sing or post vids of yourself. Ultimate Guitar also seems to always be coming out with more features too. When I first saw how much the app cost I was a little wary. In the landscape of millions of apps costing like a dollar this was a bit more. The difference here is that Ultimate Guitar App is worth it. Not just another one of those countless crappy dollar apps. I use this app daily. The app developers seem like they want to give their members the best app that they can. Oh, and if there is anything that you would like to see in the app that isn’t there they have a way that you can contact them and make suggestions for that.
A great tool to improve playing, ear, and sight reading
by Doctor Parsnips on 2018/10/05 17:29
I’ve been a long time bassist, and I still need help figuring out bass lines and chord progressions. This app is a god-send. I love that I can look at a tab for quick reference when I’m jamming or at a gig, or I can spend time with an official or interactive tab to really nail a part or learn a line I haven’t been able to figure out on my own. Playing along with the official tabs has improved my sight reading; having the track there as an audio reference if I get lost is awesome, and the ability to slow down the tempo to really nail groove, fingering, and more length is extremely helpful. I feel that my playing has improved dramatically after spending time with these tabs, more so than it has with actual lessons or music books. I say this is a must for musicians of all skill levels, from amateurs to gigging musicians looking to perfect their parts.
Great app but some issues
by E Bathurst on 2018/10/07 19:02
Good stuff: I’m a thirteen year old boy, and I really enjoy music. I got my guitar in second grade but lost interest. In the past couple of months, I’ve learned that I really like how the guitar sounds, so I researched guitar apps. After heavy research, my parents ad I decided that this was the app to get. I’ve had the app for about a month, and l’m really enjoying the app. I’ve tried playing stuff from Beck to AC/DC. Bad stuff: App is confusing to navigate when you open it for the first time. Also, it is not said in the description that there is a subscription payment, which upset me, but I was able to pay it. But the thing that Aggravates me most is the fact that after playing too many songs, the app sends an error message saying I can’t play anymore “official” tabs. This forces me to put down my guitar for x amount of time until I can jam again and learn more songs. Overall, It’s a great app for veteran players, as well as beginners like me.
Suggestion

I love this app so much! The unlimited is worth every penny! I use it for acoustic gigs and when songs need to be learned on the fly, and it’s incredible. If I could add any features it would be a filing system for multiple set lists (so that you wouldn’t have to scroll through your entire collection, but to be able to group certain songs together for easy access) and a feature that would allow you to mark up/paint on the music for side notes, vocal cues, etc. I’ve played with people who leave notes out or want me to only sing certain backups and I have to try and remember on the spot 😂 if there was a markup/paint feature I could just scribble on the music, and get it done with no worries. But even still, UG has CHANGED THE GAME! GET IT! You won’t regret it! Every guitar player needs this, you’ll save so much time when you’re in a bind to learn a lot at the last minute. 🤘🏻
LOVE THIS APP 🔥🔥

Never fails me when I need a quick resource to find the chords/lyrics to just about any song. On a real level, this is like my pocket gig trick. I play gigs and bonfires nearly every weekend and take requests often.. this app has come in handy on more than just a few occasions. There are multiple versions for each song, which is great if you need to change the key signature to suit your vocal range. This app has a tuner that will tune for you or has the option to tune by ear. If you're unsure of how to play a chord, the app has the chord positioning within each song. You can even hear how the chord should sound by pressing play. If you want to know the strum pattern, you can listen to the chord progressions. So many dope features, it's truly an all in one app. I never write reviews on anything, but this application really deserves 5 stars. It's the Perfect sidekick for any gig- anytime, anywhere. 🤙🏼

This app, y’all. Out of ALL the apps I’ve had to delete in those frantic pressing moments of clearing cloud n’ device space to capture new memories, Guitar Tabs is by far the app I have consistently redownloaded shortly thereafter. SHOOT, y’all—even just the website a decade ago (in its most ancient era) imparted enough clarity, drive, and inspiration to keep my Fretty and me going. The GT App, y’all. IT’s OFF the wall, and YOU—you’ll be ON fire. Which final thought: I typically search for fairly random songs n’ artists (rarely of the now, and rarely billboard, popular, well-known, or well, known! ahAha With GT, I ALWAYS find the song & artist. FURTHERMORE, TALK about OPTIONS. Such a vast array of interpretations, styles, methods, or otherwise suggestions from which to choose. The biggest problem I have with it? TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES! Too many resources and too supportive&responsive a community. Like, GREAT. NOW what’s my excuse?! 😒🤨😅☺️😌
Long time user before the app
by Urmom666witch on 2019/05/26 23:27
While I do really appreciate the access to great free guitar/bass/uke tabs, I can’t say that this service has improved in the course of the past 9+ years. I’m not looking for any fancy extra features, just here for the music and would prefer if really loud ads didn’t pop up every 10 seconds when I’m trying to learn a new song.. Hasn’t happened when I use the web version, so if that’s something that improves on the app I’ll change my review. -EDIT: I have absolutely no issues with having ads, I totally respect that it’s necessary. A simple solution could possibly be just to play the ad when I click the tab, and then let me get on with learning. My only issue is that it continues to pop up multiple times, stop the song I’m playing to and then starts playing an ad. This means I have to, not only turn my speakers down while the ad plays, I also have to go out of the app, turn the song back on and then start over, only for the ad to pop up again in 30 seconds.. Will remain hopeful for improvements.
Almost perfect

I’ve been a long time user of the app and with the most recent update I’ve been even more impressed. A few things, personally, are holding it back for me. First, there’s a lot of lag when it come to switching between instruments in the pro tabs. It’s just not smooth at all and makes it very difficult when learning multiple parts. Second, in addition it does not indicate well what instruments play what part. Simply guitar 1, 2, 3 do not help me to know which is lead or rhythm or solo. I understand it is up to the tab creators to name the instruments, but it there a way to require indication of the positions?? Maybe it’s being too picky, but when there are 12 guitars listed in numerical order rather than position it is a pain to search for a particular one. These are really minor aggravations that over all take away very little but would add so much if included in future updates. Keep up the good work.
Great app, but...
by TheMagnificentSock on 2020/01/15 06:29
I’m happy with the functions of the app. I don’t mind ads and I don’t mind what I’ve seen other reviews “paywalls” to content via subscriptions; ads are what they are and I honestly only ever use the app for chords anyway. Auto scroll is helpful and except for one or two obscure exceptions, I’ve never had an issue with finding the song I’m looking for. 5 star app. However. Making it so you can’t access most of the Guitar Tabs website on your phone’s browser, thus pretty much forcing those of us without laptops, or at least those who prefer to use their phones, to get the app is frustrating. It’s annoying that I can’t see diagrams of chords I’m unfamiliar with, have limited access to songs, and am constantly and consistently pushed to get the app. It’s so irritating that I have actively avoided getting the app and going to the website altogether for the longest time, opting for websites that are in my opinion of lesser quality, just because I didn’t want to be bombarded with the sheer lack of accessibility the mobile website inundates you with. Like I said, I enjoy the app and give it a five star review. But I needed to make it clear that limiting a user’s experience on one platform so that you can raise traffic to another platform is one of my biggest peeves with a lot of other websites. I hope I don’t come across as angry or bitchy, I would just like to see this resolved.
Thank you!!!!!

I love music!!! I play a variety of different instruments including guitar, ukulele, piano, etc. and guitar tabs has helped me tremendously!!!! I love to sing as well and I love how easy it is to access so many songs and i love how there are different versions of the same song, so if I don’t like a certain version, I can choose a different one! And I don’t only use this app for guitar! I love the guitar, but i use this app more for piano. If you know how to play chords on piano, then this app is great for you!!! And you can also use this app for the ukulele!!! And, you don’t even have to be good! I learned most of the guitar by using this app. Before I found this app I only knew a couple chords on guitar because I didn’t really like the pressure of learning a new instrument. But guitar tabs made it fun! By letting me chose exactly what I want at the perfect level of experience is very helpful.
Best and efficient app for song chords period!
by Mahi Mo on 2019/05/02 02:44
I’ve been using this app for 3plus years now for finding chords to songs we use for worship on Sundays and its been awesome!! I love that it has different versions of a single song, it makes it easy to find what works and also the feature that lets you scroll through the lyrics at a speed that you set so you can play along through the whole song without having to touch your phone! The paid version is so worth these and any other additional features! It won’t be a stretch if I said I learned how to play songs through this app and it helped my journey in learning how to play guitar period. Not totally there yet but this has been and continues to be a huge part of my growth as a guitar player. Thankful for the community, the app and everyone involved in what it is!! Many more blessings to you all!!
Great app but updates are killing its speed
by Walker2021 on 2018/06/06 19:20
Tons of songs, easy to use, and a great way to either learn or just stay dialed in. Love this app. I still think this is one of the best apps out there for learning guitar tablature and chords, however, it seems like the most recent updates have just slowed it down and made it incredibly glitchy. I remember this app used to run incredibly seamlessly, albeit having some crashing problems, but now it seems the open tabs that weren’t touched, pauses while auto scrolling, and sometimes plays videos without ever even having press the play button without any chance of making them stop without closing the app completely. In terms of information and content this app is world be on just about any other guitar learning app especially for the price but until some of these incredibly annoying problems get resolved I just can’t quite give this app a five star rating.
Crashes all the time
by smiledirect on 2020/01/28 05:36
I use this for hours on end, every day. It’s one of the best apps I’ve ever had when it comes to music. I’ve even gotten many friends to download it. I am not kidding when I say I’m on it constantly learning new songs, whether it be on piano, uke or guitar, tabs, chords... there are tons of possibilities. Only issue I’m having is that it crashes constantly. I’ll open the app and it’ll load the home page and all the new shots, and the moment I go to open my playlist, or search for a song, it crashes. Every time, without fail. Also, when I’m scrolling it’ll not scroll, and then it’ll jump ahead or say I’ve clicked a song when I haven’t. It only started happening recently (this month) but it’s definitely inconvenient considering how often I use it, and how much I pay for it. Other than that, if these bugs are taken care of, I highly recommend it. Genuinely a great app.
Needs fixes
by ileostommy on 2020/08/05 22:36
Fantastic selection to choose from. But devs spends a lot of time trying to sell you on subscription payment while ignoring basic layout issues that cause parts of the app to be unusable. For instance, there are significant impairments when you try to edit a tab on an iPhone X or newer (or any phone with a bezel). While your screen is vertical, the app doesn’t let you zoom out so tabs are shifted out of place and you just see lines and x’s everywhere. But if you turn your phone horizontal, the keyboard takes up half the screen (should be able to be compressed + option to hide altogether with proper coding), and the bezel cuts off the beginning of each line on the side. That type of stuff isn’t a “subscription vs. free” issue, that’s an inherent app issue. Once those types of problems are fixed, I’d be open to purchasing a subscription, but paying is not worth it if you pretty much only use the mobile app (and not a computer/desktop).
Awesome

The reason I still find myself picking up the guitar everyday is because of Ultimate Guitar it gave me a way to play me favorite songs and I fell in love with it. Their new update is genius as a way to get us to show the world the work and dedication we’ve put into this and what we have accomplished. With that being said I rate only 4 because it should be easier to find people who play the same things as you as well as be able to follow people who comment on your posts. They’re essentially trying to make stories like Snapchat and Instagram for Ultimate guitar so make it that way! Make it very easy to connect and find people make recommendations for users along with people who use the same type of tabs as you. I know this update is brand new and will improve but I would love to see this take off because it could very easily be a social media platform for musicians if Ultimate Guitar chooses to do so.

Do not pay

Don't waste your time.

by AlrightKewl on 2020/10/18 05:26
Now while I will admit, locking some tabs behind a paywall completely is kinda dumb, (I’m thinking just turn off backing tracks for non-pro members using pro tabs) the app is amazing, especially if you can cough up the only $10 a year with the back to school discount. Top notch.

when i downloaded this app, i was not ever given a free option (which they insist there is) but only a free TRIAL option. i cancelled my free trial. they are still trying to charge me $20, which is currently pending in my bank with nothing i can do about it. i used this app a grand total of once, and it is definitely not worth the hidden $20 price tag.

Awesome resource
by Mindgamer2 on 2020/10/09 19:37
As a second time beginner guitarist I have greatly enjoyed the extensive access two most of the many songs that I love. And I love a lot of songs. The ability to simplify and transpose keys is extraordinary. The auto scroll is incredibly helpful. I’ve been encouraging all of my friends to download this app. I do not always agree with the chords provided in some of the songs so being able to edit and personalize is essential. This process is relatively easy on my computer but not so much on my iPhone. It would be great if it could be made easier there also as I usually play off of my phone.

app update caused pedal not to work
by AndyCorson on 2020/10/08 21:17
I like this app and I subscribed to the pro version.

I’ve been a loyal user of your services for the entirety of my guitar playing career, over 10 years now. I’m thankful for what you guys do, but with that said this app is a steaming pile of manure.

I wouldn’t have gotten here without Tabs!

no joke this app has every song in ukulele form!! it’s the best!!
Awesome

Best guitar and instrument app for chords
Quick tip
by Family_Freindly on 2020/10/01 13:23
A quick tip for if u don’t want to pay but still want premium tab. Go online and search up the tab u want and than click on the link for the site. It will send u to the app and u won’t have to pay to view and save the tab
Not crazy about the latest update!!
by captn rob on 2020/10/01 00:25
I love your app overall but the latest update made my print so small in the app that I can hardly see it! Can’t find any way to make the print bigger.... other than getting new glasses... also please get more of Micheal McCloud??
Thank you. Sara (lol…both nicknames I tried might be me)
Great app, I recommend but...
by Geometry dash3000 on 2020/03/17 00:23
I love this app.

Long time paying customer conned by ultimate guitar
by ripped off by ultimate guitar on 2019/03/07 13:56
I bought this app probably about 8 years ago when it cost 5 or 6 bucks.

Awesome!!!
