best app ever
by ThinkPink4Me on 2019/09/19 02:53
the pro membership is so worth it. built in tuner, chord book, infinite tabs & chords... and i LOVE the new social aspect of it w posting 1 min long videos. this app has everything you could possibly need
I did not want to buy a $20 yearly subscription for a useless app.
by 244832 on 2019/09/19 01:38
I never knowlingly authorized this app to charge me for a yearly plan. It must have gotten my fingerprint somehow because now I am $20 in the hole and furious about it. Seriously, don't download this app or pay for it. It doesn't show anything you can't get on Google.
...and always getting better

Crashing after latest update
by Natwilli on 2019/09/18 21:42
I have always loved this app but now it constantly crashes when starting up since the last update
Good way to view chords
by Kasana_07 on 2019/09/18 16:26
The ads I can deal with, but not being able to transpose the key without paying for it is straight up annoying. I use their website all the time, and when I try to transpose the key it says I could do so in the app. Now that I'm using the app, I can't do it without paying. It's just a little frustrating
New songs
by twister316 on 2019/09/18 13:09
So I’m starting to learn the guitar and this app is great for beginners. I’m learning old town road and it’s only like 4 cords you have to play hopefully I learn it and I can make videos on YouTube later. I really like this app.
Amazing app...love it!
by JJFlash7 on 2019/09/18 00:01
Amazing app...love it!... This apps gets 98% of the songs I search..and love the option of being able to change the key!! Really really excellent......
Thank you
by stonecoldgoldburg on 2019/09/17 23:15
It’s easy to use and normally has exactly the songs I want to play

Auto-scroll is so cool
by b..f. on 2019/09/16 23:55
Nice to have all the songs I’m working on in one place. Pretty good suggestions. Auto scroll helps from getting frustrated. Love it.
So much fun
by Neek Nak on 2019/09/16 22:51
A life saver when I’m down or don’t have anyone to be with
Two things it needs now that it has the “official” tabs.
by SemperFiLeo on 2019/09/16 06:42
First. There needs to be a filter for them in the favorite tabs filter box where you can switch between the pro, chords, etc. Needs an option for official so i can just see all those. Second. The official tabs feature really needs a better auto scroll solution in chords mode. It would be perfect if the app could sense the orientation and just put the words with large text and scroll properly like the notes version does. The page could scroll over automatically similar to how it follow which notes are being played in the pro view. Please make this my one app solution for effects modeling and hands free karaoke style chord tabs. It would make it perfect for strummers who sing and I would be able to use it in live gigs in case i forget the words. Otherwise i have to write my own and use a Bluetooth page turner....wha....! What? Wait a minute! Bingo! Please add Bluetooth page-turn and pagescroll options! Especially if it could work with the ik BlueBoard and the Blueturn pageturner! Please add that! Yes that would be the solution and would be the easiest fix! Like be able to backup and go forward even while the autoscroll is on! So scroll/page turn option regardless if autoscroll is on or off. Thanks I hope this gets to the developers. I couldn’t find a contact developers button anywhere on this iPad. I love what you’ve all done and where you’re going with this app and it’s been with my entire guitar learning journey. Thank you!!!!!
Fantastic!
by Blackops1125 on 2019/09/16 05:31
Great app! Well formatted, most of the tabs are accurate, and it works perfectly!
Neat app once you pay for the subscription

Best Song Learning Tool
by RoscoeDash$ on 2019/09/16 01:57
Never before has learning new songs been this easy! I can hear a song, type it in, and begin learning immediately!
So fun!
by KaylaDevinMarie on 2019/09/15 16:56
I looooove this app! They stream to videos of the song if you need a reminder. My phone was stolen and I re downloaded the app and all of my tabs are still saved! I have so much fun :)
The biggest cash grab
by Extra0404 on 2019/09/15 16:11
Just use the website... on a computer if you try on your phone they basically force you to buy app but guess what you’re not done paying there if you want any sort of meaning full use out of the app you have to pay a subscription that is more expensive then a Hulu subscription with no commercials and unlike Hulu I don’t use this app everyday maybe once a month
Filled with ads
by ChrisM2019 on 2019/09/15 13:44
Loaded with ads and promotions to buy versions. I bought the pro version of this app many years ago. It is painfully distracting due to the constant prodding to buy in app purchases. Absurd.
The new on boarding is awful.
by ChaseWindu on 2019/09/15 03:28
The onboarding survey is absolutely infuriating and shouldn’t be required. If there were a better source for tabs I would use it because of the onbording ux alone.
Needs to be fixed!!!!
by Phoenix Ramirez on 2019/09/14 23:52
I absolutely love this app. I’ve learned so much about guitar through this app. But with whatever update that was put in, it is constantly crashing. When I choose a tab from my collection it will randomly choose a tab from below or above it. Like most apps it has ads but anytime I click X it crashes. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling it and still the same issues keep on happening. If these problems are fixed then I will change my review to five stars.
help!!
by What Addie says on 2019/09/14 19:12
when i go to view my saved tabs/chords, it sits with the loading screen and never lets me see my chords. i’ve had this app for so long and i want my chords back!! 😭😭
You need this
by Easyuse on 2019/09/14 13:47
Autoscroll, backing tracks, videos tutorials, and various chord/tab submissions-awesome.
Why
by higviygfiuhg on 2019/09/14 12:58
If you don’t pay you don’t get the most useful tabs. What the heck. All I can use are the chords and not the actual tabs for the song I searched. DISAPPOINTING!!!

Love the app! I have learned so many songs using this app! Highly recommend!

by Amaya4Dayz on 2019/09/12 22:27
I use this app everyday but it constantly crashes or freezes up which is extremely obnoxious especially when playing guitar and looking at the music.
Free trial a rip off
by Bbyrnewv on 2019/09/12 21:49
Tried to cancel this before one week trial end and found no simple way to do so. Sent me on a wild goose chase with Apple ID and “manage” subscriptions to no avail. Was charged or a month and still can’t find a way to cancel. They have your credit card so....I bet these charges will continue. Trying with Apple now to get a refund and cancel. We’ll see
Most useful and inspiring
by Krabby patties on 2019/09/12 19:20
Definitely worth the purchase. Tabs and chords are diverse and almost always accurate, « official » tabs are both helpful and funny (look up a song with an official tab and listen to it - they’re often accurate in music but bizarre in tone). If you have it long enough you can get pro for free which is cool.
Stellar App
by brian RS Legacy on 2019/09/12 17:49
I’ve been using Ultimate Guitar back in the old .com days before such things as apps existed. The app took it to a whole new level. By far the most extensive catalogue of Tabs and Chords anywhere. I make this app a requirement for all my new guitar and Ukulele students. Plus with a clip on my mic stand, I never play a gig without Ultimate Guitar. Not so much for the songs I know, but for any curveball requests that may get tossed at me. Keep up the great work UG !
Best app ever
by Mallow7879 on 2019/09/12 13:13
I got this app a few weeks ago to get some music for my guitar, and it gave me all the music I needed and how to play them. I like that I have the ability to search any song and it will come up with many different versions I could play; all I’m saying is that it’s a great app and I am definitely recommending it to everyone!!!
Something is wrong
by Jbzz01 on 2019/09/12 00:58
Many high quality tabs, but something is wrong with the playback feature. I’m trying to learn a couple solos by obscura, and every time it skips notes and adds notes that are not shown on the score. I cannot figure out how to make it play exactly what is written.
Crap app
by Fewsax1234 on 2019/09/11 13:26
Spoke too soon, Horizontal scrolling pro tabs are back only on some tabs. Unreal man.

I have been playing a lot of songs in the app, and it’s very easy to use!
So far so good.
by theoneandonlyBA on 2019/09/10 03:00
I have loads of friends who use it too. I'm excited about wasting less paper printing out songs to practice.
worst app i’ve ever used
by vanessa sw on 2019/09/10 00:56
totally scammed me for over a year without my knowledge and then when i complained they denied ever charging me (over $70) still i was never able to access the “pro features” on the app. worst customer service.
Amazing app
by cooldude3736 on 2019/09/09 23:17
It kept on glitching me to the home screen, but I deleted and reinstalled the app and it worked. Thanks for fixing it, other than that, amazing app!
it really helps !!!
by FrazzledTazzle on 2019/09/09 22:35
as someone who was self taught at the guitar and uke, i can really say that this app makes it a hell of a lot easier to find songs and learn them !! 100% would recommend to anyone of any experience level!!
Awesome app
by Carolxxx on 2019/09/08 20:14
I can’t say enough good about this app. When I am stumped on a tune, I can look it up and get the chords. It will even transpose for me.
Intensely confusing purchase/subscription process
by jfaughnan on 2019/09/08 19:39
A family member downloaded this and ran into the confusing morass of subscription and purchase options. She was very concerned shed unintentionally subscribed. After reviewing Apple subscriptions and transactions it appears she did not purchase or subscribe. That doesn’t change the problem with purchasing.
Pretty bad. Just use the regular website
by mkvffjjj on 2019/09/08 14:40
Getting from the App Store or safari to the app never carries over if I press a pre-set button specifically directing to the app. Terrible search algorithms. Might as well just get of the search function.

Just Worth It
by Omrivera1 on 2019/09/07 20:27
I use this for so much. It’s been a life saver for love life, fun, and more importantly growing in the knowledge of the guitar. You cannot continue to grow unless you have a variety of challenges and that’s what this app gives you. Get it now. You will not regret it. Cheers!
Good job/ not trash

Good job they made a guitar app that is not completely trash. Would recommend no matter what level you are at.
WHAT IS THE ISSUE WITH TRYING TO LOOP SECTIONS????
by Whitemarshall on 2019/09/07 20:07
Ok so this is was my favorite go to app for learning how to play songs. One of my favorite parts about it was being able to slow down the tempo and LOOPING A SECTION!!! That was until it undated a few months ago and now it’s nearly impossible to do that! Every time I try to look more than one bar and slide the blue bit across to be able to loop those sections as well, it doesn’t do anything. I can never get it to work and maybe you guys changed it to be needing to do it another way? It pisses me off, I’ve tried going through the tutorials to see if you changed it and teach it in one of those but can’t find anything. Every update I’ve hoped that it was resolved but still nothing. Only reason I’m leaving 1 Star is in hopes that you see this and FIX IT!

Terrible
by Jaybo1978 on 2019/09/07 01:38
Impossible to use without paid features. Impossible to even try without paid features. Railroads you into certain choices to “improve the experience.” It might be good for some but was a waste of my time.
1 star
by I play lots of catan on 2019/09/07 01:03
Why one star? Is the app that bad? No. But I’m FORCED to use it when I just want to use the website. It used to be so easy. That’s why your product blew up. It was easy to use, now it’s impossible to use unless you get the app. So 1 star for forcing me to use something that I never would use and definitely don’t need. And of course. I’m blasted with ads for a premium version. JFC. WHY IS THE SONG ONLINE AND SAYS “open in app” to literally do anything but it just goes to the App Store and I can’t even find the song on the app. SELL OUT HARDER PLEASE
Dumpster Fire
by dustinmattox on 2019/09/06 23:06
App is garbage. Randomly shuts down. Customer service is terrible. Lifetime member from years ago and still get adds and request to join premium. Safe yourself the headache and find music elsewhere.
Finding the right audience
by Dallas IPhone7Plus on 2019/09/06 14:30
Played most of my life. But sometimes certain people hate to hear you practice. After 19 years of playing in private I got rid of that person and found someone who likes a private concert every time I pick up one of my guitars. With this app I can play anything and my ability has increased 10 fold. I highly recommend this app. If you ever find yourself in a position where you can’t express yourself and relax with the Guitar Tab App, then delete the bad influence and get to rockin!
the most annoying app ever
by twatbagel on 2019/09/06 03:17

This App has literally changed my Life and the way I view playing the guitar. Step by step chords the correct way helps me stay on beat and on track. I would scream this recommendation from the rooftop if it would help someone play better understand how to play chords and new songs! Thanks guys

Great resource!!!
by byrdmgmail on 2019/09/03 21:55
Lots of great tabs, chords, and tools on this app. Very user/musician friendly! Just about any song you can dream up! Al Jolson? Janis Joplin? Ozzy Osbourne? Ozzie Nelson? They’re all in here, and most are pretty darned accurate, as well. I give it a 98% rating. Worth the extra $$ for Pro version! I recommend it highly!!!
Piano chords
by fabjohnson on 2019/09/03 20:32
I wish it showed the fingers for the piano and not just the frets for the guitar for the chords on the songs.
Amazing!
by Schcarbonzo on 2019/09/03 20:30
This app is awesome! I've been playing the ukulele for two years now and this app helped me learn so many songs. I recommend this app for anyone who is a beginner.
Great app
by Crazyfingered on 2019/09/03 16:03
Like I said already it’s a great app. Well it’s very good at the very least. Well at the very very least it’s ok, honestly. I mean it’s not like having a well behaved, independently wealthy, hot chick living in your flat who worships you. It’s not that great by any degree. But I digress, it’s worth a download. Especially since you don’t have the aforementioned hot chick and never will so make the best of what’s realistically available and this app is just that. Isn’t that great?
Pro Tabs Don’t Scroll Horizontally Anymore
by Mr. Garisson on 2019/09/03 07:58
Please add an option in the settings for tab-scrolling preferences. The new scroll-down from the top of the tab actually interferes with your playing because it leaves you guessing what notes come next and it is frustrating when playing along to a song.
Very useful resource
by JoeGo23 on 2019/09/03 01:49
I’ve always been a fan of this app from the day it was made! Pro is absolutely worth the money. The people at UltimateGuitar do a great job at creating these tabs and the standard notation to go with them. This lets you learn the music you enjoy and begin to make the music you love. Recommended 👍🏻

by OV8O Fam on 2019/09/02 22:24
I love the app, it’s a great resource for the garage guitar player! Even if the tab isn’t perfect it’s close enough to make an interpretation.
Great App Overall
by DancingGirly on 2019/09/02 19:16
Ultimate Guitar Tab is a great app! It gives musicians of all ages hundreds of songs to choose from. As a guitarist, I’ve improved a ton, challenging myself to harder songs everyday. The one thing I would say is, it’s very hard to cancel your free trial. After reading about it, I learned I was to the only one with this issue. It took me a good 20-30 minutes just to figure it out. That was very inconvenient, but I still love this app and would recommend it to anyone.

The best guitar app for everyone.
by torip555 on 2019/09/02 16:17
This app has helped me from day one. It’s not only for guitar it’s for bass, piano and ukulele. It has great features like, simplified cords for beginners, a listening feature that lets you hear the songs you are trying to learn and it even has a feature to let you change the tabs/cords for your own use. Over all this is definitely the ultimate guitar app.
Tragic fall from grace
by kmafb on 2019/09/02 13:28
This app used to be my favorite, all the tabs you needed, pro tabs if you wanted to upgrade, no ads, plenty of different versions of classics and lots of new stuff too. Nowadays there’s hardly any music that you can find that’s not strictly available as pro tabs you have to pay for unless it’s in one of the ‘collections’ that they post on the homepage; as if they couldn’t make plenty of money with the ads that have to show up before you open a song , even if that song was removed by request of the publisher which probably could be avoided by some change in their policies or processes. Most of this could all be solved by upgrading to pro and paying for it all but frankly people have a load of other things they need to pay for and shouldn’t feel like that’s the only way they can use this app, especially since they already get none of the add-ons like tutorials or even a simple tuner. They got greedy and weren’t even smart about it.

It’s a good app but…
by _TheBlindPirate_ on 2019/09/01 20:04
It’s a good app and all probably one of the best ones I’ve used but the “pro account” pops up way too much and you need to buy a pro account for almost every feature it’s really dumb and there’s a lot of features I could just download a different app for that would give it to me for free
Ad Complaint
by The_AriC on 2019/09/01 18:44
I don’t write reviews, but I use this app pretty often because I’m teaching myself guitar. When I first downloaded it, I thought it was great. My first issue is having to pay for auto-scrolling. Having to stop strumming to scroll seriously breaks the immersion. I can’t count how many times I’ve messed up because I had to scroll to see the second verse. This brings me to my second point: why are there ads in the middle of chord pages?? It’s rude, disruptive, and breaks focus from practicing. I’m sure I can’t be the only one who doesn’t appreciate seeing huge ads take up space between the pre-chorus and the chorus. If you must have your ads, put them where it’s not going to mess up practice for people. Your unskippable 30 second adds before each page are bad enough. I’ve also found that with the increased ads, my app moves slower and it’s much more prone to bugging out/crashing. Thanks.

by hsivywnavxislabxtcysjsb on 2019/08/31 22:34
Ok, I like ultimate guitar’s website, but that’s it. Don’t get me wrong, when I can’t find a song’s ukulele tabs because it’s less popular I always turn to ultimate guitar first. I really like that they have nearly every song, I have literally never come across a song that wasn’t on ultimate guitar. I was really surprised when I first found them that they had the real world by owl city, devil town by cavetown, and even music box by Malinda Kathleen Reese (really good songs, you should check ‘em out). But that’s kinda where all the goodness stops. On the website you can’t transpose, auto scroll, save the tab pdf, or even listen to the song. They have buttons to do so on the website but all it says is something like “this feature is available in the app”. Then why is there even a button for it? So I download the app to do what I can do on literally any other ukulele tab page’s website. I try to transpose and auto scroll and all that came up was something like “this feature must by paid for”. Are you actually kidding? I just downloaded your app to do the things that, may I remind you, are on every other tab website for free and you say I need to pay for it. I understand how only $19.99 a year would be worth it, but honestly, just go on ukutabs or something. You won’t have the same variety of songs which is depressing, but at least you can transpose and auto scroll.
Amazing app

This is an amazing app but I definitely suggest getting pro it helps a lot. Overall it deserves a five star rating.

The backing track doesn’t work anymore it just makes it silent completely or only some notes make sound and it’s generally really annoying
Very unfortunate me...

This is one of the wonderful learning software for amateur like I am, but the most unfortunate thing for me is I can’t access/buy full version from Bangladesh. iPhone doesn’t have any payment location here. But I loved it with such little access.

Played this song in front of a very beautiful girl on my futon in college and it was sooooooo good so everyone should learn how to play the guitar! Have a great day:)))
I love it!

This program has been amazing! Just started using it and I am so thrilled with the amount of music available. Thank you!!
OUTSTANDING APP!

This app is one of a kind app! I think it brings people more closer to music as they find the song(s) on this app. I 100% recommended this app! I have had to look up on other sites and stuff to find the certain song or songs I am playing but other than that it is 100% amazing!
Love this!

Great app!

I am a very cheap person and I have no regrets with purchasing this app. Pros: -Inexpensive -The number of tabs/chords available -Ability to download tabs/chords -Adjustable auto-scroll -Customizable playlists for tabs/chords -Tools (Chromatic tuner, brain tuner, metronome and interactive chord library) -GREAT customer service ... These are the only features I have used over the past year but there are a lot more that I have not tried out. Cons: None found yet.
Great

... but this should be sold as a paid app. It does nothing but put up “buy me” dialogs in the free version.
Brilliant cooperative, I use it nearly every day!

Peer reviewed by those who demonstrated professional and semi pro qualities. It would be impossible for one person to collect such a diverse and vast array of songs. That’s the beauty of this program and social environment. Those who are willing and capable contribute by adding to that library and by approving of the words and chords and formatting. While the formatting may seem overly stringent, in the time I’ve had this application I’ve come to see the value and purpose of the structures. I don’t think there’s anywhere else to go to get such an extensive lexicon. People all over the world are contributing to what has got to be the most eclectic, comprehensive and thorough gathering of songs from all eras. While UltimateGuitar is a great way for beginning reasons to find songs that they know and the chords to go with them, Pro and semi-pro players can enjoy having a quick source for cover tunes, requests, etc. One of the valuable things to me is that I can put my originals in as personal songs and have them ready to be a reference for me as well as a quick key change check. I got my lifetime membership at a great price, and it is one of the best musical investments I’ve ever made.
They took everything I paid for away
by Drwho0204 on 2018/02/01 12:56
About six months ago maybe longer I bought the premium package deal thing. I mainly used it for the interactive tabs. Loved all the new features. I don’t know if this is a bug or something y’all planned but everything I paid for is not available anymore. It says that I need to upgrade to the full version. I already own it and I’m not paying for it again. I don’t know if you thought you could take it away and give it back after I payed for it again, but I’m not buying it agains. I truly hope this is a bug because I loved the app, but after this I don’t think anyone should it if they are going to steal your money Alright disregard my last post. During the full version deal there was a timer. It wouldn’t let me use any of the features I purchased. The full version deal would show up every time I tried to do anything that required the full version. After the timer went away it still wouldn’t let me access it. I waited a day to see if anything would happen. Nothing happened. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. It now lets me use everything that I bought. I am so thankful this was bug because I loved the app. Other than an actual guitar tutor this is the best place to learn. I would highly recommend the full version as it is very useful.
Great for practicing musicians
by elijahstinkinmarth on 2019/03/01 00:23
I use this app all the time to learn new songs, or practice songs I have forgotten. The tabs work well for guitar, but I mostly use it for piano actually. The chord charts have really great features, and are very easy to use. Transposing, auto scrolling, and the ability to make playlists are all incredibly convenient, as they allow me to play great songs in keys I can actually sing in, and save those songs for easy reference. The library/catalog of songs is extensive. Very rarely do I search a song and find it doesn’t have some kind of tab. The “versions” feature functions flawlessly, which is great for when I may need to switch between more (or less) difficult/technical interpretations of the same song, or for comparing sections of songs where some tabs are more accurate than others. Having written several tabs as well, I can say that the creating process is very well thought out also. Overall, this is a great app for anyone looking to have fun playing songs they know and love (on most any instrument), and an essential app for any serious musician.
One sweet app
by carriosity on 2018/06/28 13:57
I grew up in a family where making music was an everyday occurrence. My dad played guitar and banjo. I started playing rhythm guitar when I was about 13. But then life happened and when I was about 29 years old, I lost my guitar in a divorce and haven’t had one since. (Warning...don’t get into a bad marriage with a musician). That was more than 20 years ago. Just bought an Epiphone acoustic and I’m shocked at how quickly muscle memory and strumming patterns are coming back. Except my old lady brain can’t automatically find the right chords for songs the way it used to. This app has seriously helped with this issue. So far, I have not thought of one song that I want to play that this app doesn’t include. Add to that, the ability to listen to new songs, and play along if you want, right in the app...that’s just awesome. I can’t read tabs but I may learn since that’s included as well. Anyway, thanks to the developers for this unusually helpful and functional product. Thanks to Ultimate Guitar, my husband, who is a drummer and has never picked up a guitar before, is now learning as well. 👍🏼
Revised Review - much better on second look
by AttendeeX on 2018/12/31 04:11
I struggled with my first try of the app at the free membership level (see old review below - probably was trying to use a "Pro" tab while at free membership tier). Given the overwhelming positive reviews I switched to the web version, thinking "it can't be this bad - has to be me". It was me. I had such better luck with the web version that I upgraded my subscription for use on the laptop. Now, with a little familiarity, life is way better in the app too. Plenty of novice-level tabs available. I'm using favorites, playlists, requesting new tabs from the community and authoring my own. Ultimate Guitar is my daily practice partner. Wouldn't want to live without it. Already well worth the annual subscription and will get more value as my playing improves. [OLD REVIEW]Sorry, unusable here. Every time I click on the song I want to see I get the video ad to upgrade to pro. Dismiss the ad and I'm back in the main menu. I can't tell that this is anything but spam. Not enticing me to upgrade.[/OLD REVIEW]
Not what I thought I was paying for.
by Roguepandabear on 2019/08/27 08:38
I rarely ever write reviews on apps but this one made the acceptation. I’ve been using ultimate guitar on my laptop for years for free. I saw the app and it cost money but I thought it would be worth it to have it on my iPad, little did I know the charges didn’t stop there. Most of the content is only accessible if you pay for the monthly pro membership. If you don’t have the membership you can’t use the transpose function, every time you open a cord chart up you’ll have an advertisement pop up that you can’t close for at least thirty seconds and I’d say half of the content isn’t available unless you pay for the pro subscription. I’m really disappointed with their app and the fact that I payed for the app in the first place only to find out it’s set up like a free trial app that you have to pay that monthly subscription to have full use of it and to get rid of annoying advertisements. It’s probably all written out in the fine print what is available and I (like 99% of people) didn’t take the time to read the terms & conditions. I wouldn’t recommend this app to a friend, the website is still free but now covered in advertisements in the middle of the songs if you’re not a pro subscriber. Ultimate guitar used to be an amazing place for people to learn songs.
My favorite guitar site!
by roadapple_gl on 2018/10/02 02:24
Thanks for this. I use this app more than any other. I can learn chord progressions, lyrics and most anything that I need for playing out, playing new songs in worship service, or just for fun. I invested in a pro account a few years ago and I highly recommend it! You can learn how to play a song in the same key as the original recording, or in a simpler progression to match your skill level; or to a key that is easier to sing with. There are a ton of great songs on this site, in just about every genre you can think of... for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass (electric and acoustic), piano, violin and even ukulele! Most people making comments on this site are trying to be helpful, although there are always some that are quick to criticize, but offer no correction or suggestions; but unfortunately, you will find that on just about any site on the net. Give the Ultimate Guitar app a fair try, and I am sure you will find something useful to help you get to your next evolution of your guitar journey.
Need much improvement.
by MisterCap88 on 2017/12/10 23:30
Many of the tabs I have used have been fairly decent. But many of them absolutely terrible. When you use the interactive tab, most of the music that goes along with the tabs aren’t matched with the tabs themselves. So the tabs being played on the interactive fretboard, aren’t going along with the music making it very difficult to play along or learn. There’s is also the brain and chromatic tuner problem. When using the brain tuner, I need to reset the app each time because it won’t make any sound for me to hear. With the chromatic tuner, I can play an E and it’s trying to tune a G. The tuner cannot pick up the string I’m trying to tune. Which isn’t a huge deal, it is a tuner on a phone. Lastly, I spent about $15 on this app with upgrades and I have nothing. Not sure what my money went towards, but the app keeps asking me to pay to get new features that I was under the impression I already had. When purchasing, it said I had all features, so still very confused. But what I have learned from this app has been good, lots of great tabs to choose from, just wish it functioned better, and wish I got my money’s worth.
Lying to make a few bucks off of me
by Meeklekinz on 2018/09/19 18:05
I have been a devout user of Ultimate Guitar since probably 2008. I have always appreciated them as they always have always been a dependable source for me. Even when they finally created a smartphone app. I was all on board to pay for it. Recently, I decided to try out the pro side of things. I liked the features, but I have to admit, I hit a pretty rough spot financially, so I needed to cut back on a lot of small things. Like a monthly $7.99 charge. Well, after I couldn’t figure out how to cancel (users fault, I admit) I contacted UG and asked them to help cancel my subscription. They swore up and down that it was apples subscription and I needed to take it up with them. So I tried to figure it out to no avail. A month went by and I admittedly forgot because a lot went on. Another charge. So I contacted UG. Same response swearing up and down it isn’t them. So I contact apple and they point out that it is UG making the charges. I finally figure out how and where to manage my subscription and cancel it. I know I am at fault for being an idiot and not knowing how to cancel it myself. But why in the world would you guys not just help me out?? Screw you and I hope that extra cash you got from me makes all the difference in your lives.
Was once a great app, not anymore
by SarahIsABaker on 2018/03/01 05:25
I’ve been using this app for years, and loved it. I paid for the app when it was a flat fee, and once they started adding more features I paid for those too. I used to use it all the time to learn new tabs. It used to be a 5 star app, that I recommended to anyone who plays the guitar or ukulele. With this new update, it’s useless. Constantly crashes, seems to have a mind of its own opening and closing tabs, speeding up and down when auto scrolling (going from .5 speed to 1.5 for example, on its own half way through a song) This is extremely frustrating when you’re trying to learn a new song, especially when you’ve paid for the service. I’ve sent two emails to the developers via the app, and never heard back, which is why I’m finally posting a review, since it appears they don’t care. I have the iPhone X, so it shouldn’t be an issue of compatibility. The update seemed great at first until I discovered all the problems. It seems like they were too focused on getting the update live, and ignored the fact it obviously wasn’t ready. I kept hoping they would fix it, but I tried using it again just a couple minutes ago before writing a review and it’s still has all these issues.
The Best
by hellohellohello1209 on 2018/05/09 15:32
Been using this site for my tab needs ever since I started playing. And saying that it has been an awesome experience would be an understatement. There are new tabs being posted constantly. There are almost always multiple renditions of the same song depending on your difficulty level (which really helped me progress). And such a personal company that I was able to send in a suggestion to improve the site, and within a few weeks the new feature was added. Whenever I go to any other tab platform, I end up feeling discouraged by the lack of interactivity and personalization ultimate guitar provides, especially if you spend the couple bucks for tab pro. Then wait around for Black Friday and pick up a lifetime subscription for like 60 bucks. The community is also an awesome point that must be touched on. All constructive feed back. And whenever you feel a tab is a little off, you can go to the feedback and usually someone has already posted the solution.
Greatest thing since sliced bread...
by Tex B on 2018/07/23 00:46
I started playing the ukulele about eight months ago. I was pretty well organized I had set up files for each song and put the research that I was able to find off the Internet into each of the file folders set up for each of the songs. It’s a lot of work. With this app you have everything you want in one place. Somebody has already done the research for you and has found the tabs, solos, the actual song itself and then the lyrics. This is the only app and in fact it’s the only place that you can find all of these needed tools in one place. I spent a lot of time consuming hours finding this same information and putting it together myself. You don’t need to do that or do what I did because all you need is this app. So going forward now when I learned a new song I don’t have to spend half the time researching and locate in the information. With this app I can now just identify the song and start playing. Thank you.

Yes, it is not all inclusive if every single aspect of the music industry, but expecting that of anything in any culture or app is ridiculous. What it DOES have is a huge selection, with input from common folk like myself up to the big wig professionals and bands we all idolize and adore. I have been able to teach myself so much that I never knew was out there, on multiple instruments, thanks to this app. I first discovered it several years ago when it was just a website, and now as they features are added to this app and are continuously improved upon, I continue to find new information and aspects that push me and drive me to learn. My band I am in that is trying to make it big has been able to use this as an amazing resource as well. They are also fantastic at responding to customers and their reviews, and making sure that everyone has the best experience possible. Thank you Ultimate-Guitar!
Hello from Tennessee
by brianjames8282 on 2019/02/19 01:37
I am a 36 year old bass musician who plays at local bars and in my at home studio. I love that I can look up almost any song in your search bar and have the tablature right in front of me. Not only for the bass, but I can get tabs for lead and rhythm guitar, mandolin or any other instrument that was used to record that particular song. The reason I gave the app 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the accuracy of some of the tabs. I know that most of them were written by users and are the users interpretations of the song. Also several versions are usually available but sometimes the tabs are so far away from what was actually written by the artist that it could be a completely different song altogether. It just seems like there should be some kind of proof reading/editing. At least for the tabs that have such a large difference from what the original artist wrote. Other than that I love the app! It has helped me learn songs for years. Keep up the good work and please take my criticism as constructive. Thanks.
Long time paying customer conned by ultimate guitar
by ripped off by ultimate guitar on 2019/03/07 13:56
I bought this app probably about 8 years ago when it cost 5 or 6 bucks. Pretty expensive for an app back then. Anyway you didn’t need to login to an account, and there were a few more free features included like free chord charts. Anyway, somewhere along the line they decided to make the app free and then charge you like 8 bucks a month for all the features that used to come when you just bought the app, and since I had not created an account I got completely screwed out of the money I paid for the app and now can’t even use the features I used to have access to. When I tried to email customer service about this to try and get my features back they were not helpful at all! They essentially called me a liar by trying to poke holes in my story and never once tried to right THEIR wrong. Never left a review for anything on line, but I have also never been this furious about the way I have been treated. I feel like trying to get someone to pay for the same thing twice is the definition of a con. Can not believe ultimate guitar, shame on them, I will find a different tab website to use. Would rate zero stars if I could.
Disappointed
by maria_gomez on 2018/09/22 22:46
I really enjoy guitar tabs. It makes it very easy to learn tabs and learn new songs. Guitar Tabs has been a really helpful tool while learning how to play guitar. There is one flaw though, a few months ago, I did a free trial for I believe 30 days. When it was done I deleted my pro account, but weeks later I found it was still saying I had a pro account. I checked my credit card to see if it was still charging me, and yes it was. I went to account settings to delete it, but there was no way to delete the account. I looked up how and it seemed impossible to get off my pro account. Sadly, I decided the only way to get off pro was to delete my account. I was very sad to do this because I thoroughly enjoyed using this app, but there seemed no other way around it. When I went to delete my account I found there was also no way to delete my account. I looked up how, but as before, it seemed impossible. I couldn’t just delete my account, I would still be paying for the account. Today still, I don’t know what to do. I would suggest you don’t get this app because they literally make it impossible to get rid of it.
Crashes occasionally, but still provides a great service
by TheFlyingM on 2019/04/23 22:09
Haven’t purchased a pro membership, but the free tabs they offer are great. Definitely my go-to source for guitar tab, and the app makes browsing on mobile much easier than in a web browser (though I gotta admit the way the website pushes you to download the app is pretty annoying). Occasionally the app freezes unexpectedly when looking at tabs. Only way I’ve been able to fix it is by killing the app and restarting, and even then I have to wait 5-10 seconds on restart before it reloads to the home page. Then have to find the tab I was on again, which sometimes isn’t the easiest if you’re like me and browse a lot of different tabs for the same song: then your search history is filled with links to every individual tab that you’ve viewed for that song. Ended up just signing in to my account so I could favorite tabs. It’s still pretty annoying to have the app crash in the middle of practicing though.
Great App, Very Useful!
by Noot40 on 2019/05/07 02:17
This is a fantastic app and a MUST for any guitar player, new to the instrument or professional. I really love the fact that they include chords for other instruments for songs as well(guitar, bass, ukelele, etc.). This app is definitely a very efficient way of finding chords and words to your favorite songs and learning how to play them. If I could suggest one thing to the developers, it would be that there was an option where you could choose a certain genre of music and be provided a list of songs with varying difficulty in that genre. At times, I’ve wanted to play different songs than the ones I had in My Tabs but I wasn’t exactly sure what to play. As nice as the preset playlists are within the app, many of them don’t apply to my personal interests or provide enough options for songs. This feature would definitely make this app shine more than it already is! Well done and keep doing what you do best!
Great Support

This app (The paid version) is extremely amazing with everything that it does. I've only been playing guitar for about two weeks now, but I've already gotten quite a few chords down and transitioning as well as strumming pattern. I've yet to search for a song too and not be able to find it! Aside from that, the favorites are really awesome too. I'm able to pretty much recalibrate the song by editing lyrics or chords, allowing me to edit it to my own liking and allowing me to practice something that's more my level. Pretty much able to clean songs that have a great message but maybe a couple of cuss words, you know? Or implement the placement of a chord/strumming order etc in a place that it isn't written at. Anyways, I'm pretty much ranting now XD I just highly recommend getting this app if you really want to be able to learn guitar or honestly even some other instruments such as ukelele or maybe even piano, etc.
Awesome!!!
by DBarnhoff on 2017/11/14 23:00
I've been using this app for around three years now and I still utilize it daily! When I decided to actually start taking guitar playing seriously, with the goal of being able to play and sing songs from start to finish, I knew I'd need a good reference guide for song chords. I tried a couple free apps first before I bought the full version... wasted time. For around twelve bucks, since I wanted all the options at the time, I have a great tool to practice with. Being able to have the lyrics and chords scrolling as the song plays has been so helpful. I went from learning chord shapes to playing and singing confidently on stage with my band. I was just a singer at first... now I'm center stage playing and singing so many of my favorites. Either at home with friends and family or on stage for strangers, I can now fully enjoy sharing music with others and feel like I wrote the songs myself. Thanks for this app!
Few bugs but great overall
by LTDplayer on 2018/04/13 14:58
I’ve been using this app for about 3 years. I’m a self-taught guitarist so using this app really makes learning songs easy and quick to learn. As for those of you who want to learn guitar, this app will be your best friend in learning any songs you’re heart desires, just not every song is available FYI. A down side I had is the price. Yes, you have to pay for the app which I thought that was it but once purchased you also have to purchase the “PRO” edition in the app. Yes it was a bummer but I didn’t mind paying extra for the PRO. As for the new version they come out with, its great, excellent design for the platform but, and I say this because most users also have this issue, it’s become very problematic. What I say by this is that I’ve had the issue with the app freezing and lagging either on the search or on the tabs which became quite annoying having to refresh the app constantly. Overall, it is an excellent app just, it just need better maintenance.

Ok, look. I know some might be thinking, “What about Netflix?” Yeah ... no. Guitar tabs has all the features that a learning guitarist needs (I mean it is impossible for a guitarist to know everything, so you’re always learning!). From Tuners, to Metronomes, the app has your back. I originally signed up about 1 year and a half ago, and have been playing for almost 4 years. The moment I signed up for the pro subscription, my learning rate soared. My teacher and I were going through songs by the week, whereas before it would take about 3 weeks to learn it all. For any guitarist, whether you’re new to it, or a hard veteran, this app is for you! Bringing you songs from all the current artists, and even older artists like some good old ‘80s rock, meaning Queen, Metallic, etc. Anyways, Guitar Tabs is a true lifesaver (hence the 5 stars). What are you waiting for, stop reading this 12 year old’s review, and get the app already!!!!!

I found this app while searching for guitar tabs on safari. My first impression of this app was bad because after downloading the app and opening it from safari it looked like the tab i wanted to play was premium only. I tried another tab and it said the same. I deleted the app but after a few weeks i went back to the internet to look for more tabs for songs i love and re-downloaded the app. I saw the same thing from the first time but decided to try it out. Once i figured out how to work the app i fell in love with it. I now use this app whenever i get bored or want to play the guitar which is most of the time since schools let out for summer and i stay at home all day. Thank you so much for this app and if i had the money i would buy premium just to support the creators of this app. Keep working on this app to keep it up to date and make it even better!!

I love that I can learn new songs every day and learn them better and more efficient. All the cool gadgets you have like time, tempo, metronome, and other awesome things just make me love the app more. Totally worth paying for. I had been playing guitar for a while but I wanted more challenges, and now I have them. Learning by ear does not to justice to the complex rhythms and things that show up in tabs! Thank you guys so much for giving me this opportunity to improve my skills! I guess it must have been quite difficult to dissect so many songs and I thank you!!! Great app for any level guitar player! I am a little confused though. I’ve heard a lot about this app being free, yet I did have to pay. I think it’s totally worth it and I got a great deal, but I don’t know exactly what I bought now that I’ve heard a lot of responses about this being free. But a great app and I appreciate the effort this took to make.
A great tool to improve playing, ear, and sight reading
by Doctor Parsnips on 2018/10/05 17:29
I’ve been a long time bassist, and I still need help figuring out bass lines and chord progressions. This app is a god-send. I love that I can look at a tab for quick reference when I’m jamming or at a gig, or I can spend time with an official or interactive tab to really nail a part or learn a line I haven’t been able to figure out on my own. Playing along with the official tabs has improved my sight reading; having the track there as an audio reference if I get lost is awesome, and the ability to slow down the tempo to really nail groove, fingering, and more length is extremely helpful. I feel that my playing has improved dramatically after spending time with these tabs, more so than it has with actual lessons or music books. I say this is a must for musicians of all skill levels, from amateurs to gigging musicians looking to perfect their parts.
Great app but some issues
by E Bathurst on 2018/10/07 19:02
Good stuff: I’m a thirteen year old boy, and I really enjoy music. I got my guitar in second grade but lost interest. In the past couple of months, I’ve learned that I really like how the guitar sounds, so I researched guitar apps. After heavy research, my parents ad I decided that this was the app to get. I’ve had the app for about a month, and l’m really enjoying the app. I’ve tried playing stuff from Beck to AC/DC. Bad stuff: App is confusing to navigate when you open it for the first time. Also, it is not said in the description that there is a subscription payment, which upset me, but I was able to pay it. But the thing that Aggravates me most is the fact that after playing too many songs, the app sends an error message saying I can’t play anymore “official” tabs. This forces me to put down my guitar for x amount of time until I can jam again and learn more songs. Overall, It’s a great app for veteran players, as well as beginners like me.

I love this app so much! The unlimited is worth every penny! I use it for acoustic gigs and when songs need to be learned on the fly, and it’s incredible. If I could add any features it would be a filing system for multiple set lists (so that you wouldn’t have to scroll through your entire collection, but to be able to group certain songs together for easy access) and a feature that would allow you to mark up/paint on the music for side notes, vocal cues, etc. I’ve played with people who leave notes out or want me to only sing certain backups and I have to try and remember on the spot 😂 if there was a markup/paint feature I could just scribble on the music, and get it done with no worries. But even still, UG has CHANGED THE GAME! GET IT! You won’t regret it! Every guitar player needs this, you’ll save so much time when you’re in a bind to learn a lot at the last minute. 🤘🏻
LOVE THIS APP 🔥🔥

Never fails me when I need a quick resource to find the chords/lyrics to just about any song. On a real level, this is like my pocket gig trick. I play gigs and bonfires nearly every weekend and take requests often.. this app has come in handy on more than just a few occasions. There are multiple versions for each song, which is great if you need to change the key signature to suit your vocal range. This app has a tuner that will tune for you or has the option to tune by ear. If you're unsure of how to play a chord, the app has the chord positioning within each song. You can even hear how the chord should sound by pressing play. If you want to know the strum pattern, you can listen to the chord progressions. So many dope features, it's truly an all in one app. I never write reviews on anything, but this application really deserves 5 stars. It's the Perfect sidekick for any gig- anytime, anywhere. 🤙🏼
Long time user before the app

While I do really appreciate the access to great free guitar/bass/uke tabs, I can’t say that this service has improved in the course of the past 9+ years. I’m not looking for any fancy extra features, just here for the music and would prefer if really loud ads didn’t pop up every 10 seconds when I’m trying to learn a new song.. Hasn’t happened when I use the web version, so if that’s something that improves on the app I’ll change my review. -EDIT: I have absolutely no issues with having ads, I totally respect that it’s necessary. A simple solution could possibly be just to play the ad when I click the tab, and then let me get on with learning. My only issue is that it continues to pop up multiple times, stop the song I’m playing to and then starts playing an ad. This means I have to, not only turn my speakers down while the ad plays, I also have to go out of the app, turn the song back on and then start over, only for the ad to pop up again in 30 seconds.. Will remain hopeful for improvements.

This app, y’all. Out of ALL the apps I’ve had to delete in those frantic pressing moments of clearing cloud n’ device space to capture new memories, Guitar Tabs is by far the app I have consistently redownloaded shortly thereafter. SHOOT, y’all—even just the website a decade ago (in its most ancient era) imparted enough clarity, drive, and inspiration to keep my Fretty and me going. The GT App, y’all. IT’s OFF the wall, and YOU—you’ll be ON fire. Which final thought: I typically search for fairly random songs n’ artists (rarely of the now, and rarely billboard, popular, well-known, or well, known! ahAha With GT, I ALWAYS find the song & artist. FURTHERMORE, TALK about OPTIONS. Such a vast array of interpretations, styles, methods, or otherwise suggestions from which to choose. The biggest problem I have with it? TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES! Too many resources and too supportive&responsive a community. Like, GREAT. NOW what’s my excuse?! 😒🤨😅☺️😌
Almost perfect

I’ve been a long time user of the app and with the most recent update I’ve been even more impressed. A few things, personally, are holding it back for me. First, there’s a lot of lag when it come to switching between instruments in the pro tabs. It’s just not smooth at all and makes it very difficult when learning multiple parts. Second, in addition it does not indicate well what instruments play what part. Simply guitar 1, 2, 3 do not help me to know which is lead or rhythm or solo. I understand it is up to the tab creators to name the instruments, but it there a way to require indication of the positions?? Maybe it’s being too picky, but when there are 12 guitars listed in numerical order rather than position it is a pain to search for a particular one. These are really minor aggravations that over all take away very little but would add so much if included in future updates. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!!!!!

I love music!!! I play a variety of different instruments including guitar, ukulele, piano, etc. and guitar tabs has helped me tremendously!!!! I love to sing as well and I love how easy it is to access so many songs and i love how there are different versions of the same song, so if I don’t like a certain version, I can choose a different one! And I don’t only use this app for guitar! I love the guitar, but i use this app more for piano. If you know how to play chords on piano, then this app is great for you!!! And you can also use this app for the ukulele!!! And, you don’t even have to be good! I learned most of the guitar by using this app. Before I found this app I only knew a couple chords on guitar because I didn’t really like the pressure of learning a new instrument. But guitar tabs made it fun! By letting me chose exactly what I want at the perfect level of experience is very helpful.
Best and efficient app for song chords period!
by Mahi Mo on 2019/05/02 02:44
I’ve been using this app for 3plus years now for finding chords to songs we use for worship on Sundays and its been awesome!! I love that it has different versions of a single song, it makes it easy to find what works and also the feature that lets you scroll through the lyrics at a speed that you set so you can play along through the whole song without having to touch your phone! The paid version is so worth these and any other additional features! It won’t be a stretch if I said I learned how to play songs through this app and it helped my journey in learning how to play guitar period. Not totally there yet but this has been and continues to be a huge part of my growth as a guitar player. Thankful for the community, the app and everyone involved in what it is!! Many more blessings to you all!!
Great app but updates are killing its speed
by Walker2021 on 2018/06/06 19:20
Tons of songs, easy to use, and a great way to either learn or just stay dialed in. Love this app. I still think this is one of the best apps out there for learning guitar tablature and chords, however, it seems like the most recent updates have just slowed it down and made it incredibly glitchy. I remember this app used to run incredibly seamlessly, albeit having some crashing problems, but now it seems the open tabs that weren’t touched, pauses while auto scrolling, and sometimes plays videos without ever even having press the play button without any chance of making them stop without closing the app completely. In terms of information and content this app is world be on just about any other guitar learning app especially for the price but until some of these incredibly annoying problems get resolved I just can’t quite give this app a five star rating.
Practically Perfect Except For One Thing
by Big mama45 on 2019/06/16 00:04
I had recently found an old ukulele in my room and wanted to stay playing. I downloaded the app after seeing a few ads and really enjoyed it. Their collection of songs is extraordinary and I learned many new songs. I never purchased premium, because I’m not that serious of a player, and the app was still great without having yo pay. When opening new tabs, an ad will open up, no problem I just wait until I can click out of it. Recently however, the ad, even after a an x appears in the corner and I’ve clicked it several times, still remains. I get stuck on that screen, but my phone itself is fine. When I close the app and restart it, this problem still occurs. Eventually it resolves itself. This has happened a few times in the past month or so, but I would not let it prevent you from downloading the app. Altogether, it is well done and useful.
Most effective collection of music.
by Gourd1776 on 2019/05/21 08:01
I have used this app for over a year, almost two now and I use it constantly. I am self taught for almost two years as well and this App has every song I can think of and multiple versions of it transcribed by different authors, each rated by peers like me. I just upgraded to the newest ipad pro 2019 from my 2014 ipad air and noticed all my prevuous frustrations with this app have vanished. This app is definitely optimized for the newest operating system, otherwise your time will be wasted so be warned. The app includes a good tuner that has presets for fun Bob Dylan songs that need drop-D tuning for example. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an organized library of your favorite songs at your fingertips. I find myself playing more guitar because of the ease of access to the music. Excellent job.
Awesome
by Luke Blamer on 2019/01/03 07:51
The reason I still find myself picking up the guitar everyday is because of Ultimate Guitar it gave me a way to play me favorite songs and I fell in love with it. Their new update is genius as a way to get us to show the world the work and dedication we’ve put into this and what we have accomplished. With that being said I rate only 4 because it should be easier to find people who play the same things as you as well as be able to follow people who comment on your posts. They’re essentially trying to make stories like Snapchat and Instagram for Ultimate guitar so make it that way! Make it very easy to connect and find people make recommendations for users along with people who use the same type of tabs as you. I know this update is brand new and will improve but I would love to see this take off because it could very easily be a social media platform for musicians if Ultimate Guitar chooses to do so.
Must have
by AnonymousTraveler on 2019/03/02 17:58
I always feel like a part of my soul dies when I pay for an app, but I'm actually really happy I got this one. I can't speak for other instruments, but it's a must for playing guitar and ukulele. I especially love that you can create a list of favorite tabs, you can listen to the original recording of the song as you play, and you can set it to automatically scroll down the page as you play so you never have to stop to find the next verse. I’m just coming back to edit this review because I left a suggestion that was actually incorporated in an update. From what I can tell, the developers are constantly listening to feedback, adding new features, and striving to do better. Definitely worth the money, and unless something drastically changes I will continue to recommend this app to any musician. It’s awesome.
I hope I live long enough to try the many features!
by GYYYO on 2019/03/14 01:53
Really I had no idea this app did half of what it does, and truthfully I’m not sure of all it does. I do know this. You know that rare Stones b-side you used to play in your old band and thought you were radical because it was never heard on the radio. I thought I knew it by heart but I forgot. So I’m looking on Safari (web browser) when it leads me to an app I already have; “Tabs” You’re going to get more than one way to play the song too. Whether it be chords or lead breaks, they seem to have a constantly growing monstrosity of data containing sometimes 3 and 4 ways to play that song. I bought this app a while ago but hadn’t picked up the guitar in a while. Been hanging in the background as a bass player, giving my bandmate a chance to shine on lead. The rhythm guy and he “weave” like Brian and Keith! Far be it for me to get in the way of their magic. So I’m home and decide to play some regular guitar for a change. I was trying to play “Citadel” off Satanic Majesties (ok not a b side but just as obscure) tonight, and forgot the Dsus! It was nice to find that I had this app to help me rediscover my first love. The acoustic guitar. Great app and I’ve yet to use all the features but I promise, I’ll try. Worth every penny! Fantastic job guys, thank you!
I LOVE THIS APP
by Shelby-forevermusic on 2018/09/17 22:59
So I’ve been a member on this app for 3+ years. I’ve never payed a penny for PRO as I really just wanted the simple features. The only con was without PRO I could only use the tabs on my phone and not my IPad without paying. So deal by deal went by and I was very tempted, but I never took them. I loved the app and used it all the time and decided I didn't need PRO. But one day I woke up and since I had been a loyal member for so long they gifted me PRO for FREE! After I had PRO I found out about all the amazing things that come along with it. This app is amazing and PRO is worth your money, if you play guitar often. Honestly if your on the fence just get the app use it for a while then just wait for a deal to come around. The developers are amazing and the songs are accurate. Thanks to the developers for the amazing gift! Gonna use this app forever!
What An Amazing App! Thank You!

Such a good app and so very useful! I am so grateful to the Guitar Tabs team for making this amazing app possible! I have used this app for several years now and am just now leaving my review. I love the vast array of sons from various genres available (I play piano). I love the fact you can auto scroll the song as you’re playing it, as well as that if you don’t like certain chords in the song you can edit them and save as your personal edited copy! I also love the fact you can have saved customizable playlists of all your favorite songs available for easy use on your phone or tablet/iPad. Also, every time I’ve reached out to the Customer Service team every one of them has been so very helpful! Thank you again for making such a great app possible! Please always keep it going.
Almost there....

I love the new look, simplicity, and feel of the Ultimate Guitar app after the last update. However, I have to give it a two for functionality performance. The app freezes up and lags when scrolling through the song list on the “My Tabs” feature. Frustrating to say the least. The search function in “My Tabs” is now gone, or not easily accessible. Now when I search, after entering the “My Tabs” section, it searches the whole catalog of tabs in your database, instead of just searching through the tabs I actually have saved. I have over 400 tabs saved through that portal, and not being able to search through them, but actually have to scroll through them to find them, is a terrible flaw. To further drive that point home, as you know, there are more than one version of any given song being searched for. I have chosen the one I like and sounds best to me, so I don’t have to weed through the versions I don’t like. If the search function in “My Tabs” is gone, I have to weed through them again. It, in effect, makes the whole “My Tab” experience completely unusable with the ease it was created and intended for. Again, I love the app, and use it on a daily basis because I’m a musician, but there’s a couple things that could make it better. This is based on my experience of past versions. I’ve been using your app for quite sometime now. Thank you in advance and good luck on the changes.
Good but has some things that could be fixed
by Mendeleev The First on 2018/11/18 16:42
I love this app! This app really helps me when I wanna find chords for a song that is playing or just need to find tabs or chords. 10/10 for its free resources. However, I feel that a lot of essential options, like printing out chords, should also be free. I'll pay for pro chords. I'll pay for an amp simulator that I can hook up my guitar to and sound like the guitar in the song, but some things I won't pay for, like a tuner. GuitarTuna has you beat in terms or tuning, because they offer it for free, along with a chord library. If you made the tuner free, I wouldn't have to have two apps and I would just uninstall GuitarTuna and use the built in tuner! I realize you all work hard and need to get the bread, but not everything has to be a premium feature. Awesome app overall!
4 just because I remember it being faster.
by simply Payton on 2018/08/14 03:20
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good app and does what I need.. however, years ago the older versions were a lot snappier, and that was with older devices. I’m assuming they switched to pulling the playlists and tabs from online, every time. Every change I want to make or even pulling up the search bar takes longer than it should. It’s like everything being server-side instead of client side, if that makes sense. Then it ends up needing to be restarted after long enough, and sometimes the edit tab feature hasn’t worked. If they stored more data locally and just tried to sync things quietly in the background while all my favorites came up with no delay.. I used to have 100s of songs that came up instantly and the list never had to buffer as I scrolled. Those are the only things keeping me from 5 stars right now.
It was great until today
by which1spink on 2019/04/10 05:51
I had pretty much no problems with this app and used it all the time. I paid fifty dollars a couple years ago for a lifetime Pro account and ever since then I’ve had relatively few complaints aside from the occasional bug here and there (which isn’t even too big of a problem because every app will have them). Now all of a sudden I’m getting messages that I have to unlock a Pro account to use certain features, as if I hadn’t already bought it. This is infuriating and quite frankly feels like a blatant attempt to siphon money. Update disregard what I said previously. Apparently it was one of the aforementioned bugs and I guess my account timed out or something. This is not a common issue for me at all but like I said things happen from time to time. Sorry guys!!
Good variety
by clownworld on 2019/04/22 06:33
The song I’m looking for is always in the search, and the rating system makes my selection of the version I want to learn pretty smooth. A lot of people have obviously dedicated a lot of time to this app and it just makes me happy to have this resource. My only complaint is that the pro version of classical pieces seems off. Like the sound reflects one version of the piece, and the tab is just a part of it. I’d much rather hear the piece I’m trying to learn, no matter if it’s a less complete or complex version. Especially when the piece is a piano piece transposed into guitar. It feels like the pro version is trying to get away with a trick when I just want a straight forward experience. But all the chord ballads and the rock stuff feels pretty satisfying. I come back all the time.
Money grabbers
by Optimus Shine on 2019/01/12 15:41
This app used to be free back in the day. Then, they started running ads. No worries, I thought, it’s still free. Then, they started charging for the app. Not a huge deal, I said, it was a pittance in the grand scheme of things. THEN, they started running ads on the PAID version and would push and push and push for you to ‘upgrade’ to the latest version with all the tools that the old version had but were now being charged for. NOW, they want you to pay a subscription fee in order to access whatever new features they have and are running ads at an alarming rate. I honestly don’t know how this has a rating as high as it does. I suspect they are paying for good reviews with all the cash they’ve been making on their ‘upgrades’. It’s a shame the developers don’t want people to have easy access to learning their favorite songs and helping artists and novices alike learn to hone their craft. It seems they’ve turned into a money machine that wants to keep coming up with ways to squeeze the pennies from our hands.
Great App But Pretty Glitchy
by stupidvirgo on 2018/07/24 18:50
I spent along 15 - 20 bucks on this app and all of it was worth it. I got awesome pro tabs along with lessons that have made me a better guitarist and even more useful features that I use almost everyday. However, my only problem is that when I scroll through the collections when I’m trying to learn a new song, the app seems to glitch out. The menu seems to scroll by itself and always set me to the top of the page whenever I try to scroll down. Basically, I will be scrolling down and then the collections will no longer show until finally they do show but it’s now scrolling up and down through the collections until it settles me to the very top of the page. This makes it incredibly difficult to find a song to play. Other then that small glitchy problem, I am pretty happy with this app.
Longtime user lifetime purchase
by Roblack1 on 2019/01/30 10:12
I’m a music teacher and purchased YEARS AGO the lifetime membership. Not only that, I’ve recommended it to every single one of my students sending you hundreds of purchasers of the same lifetime membership! Whatever you guys did, we’ve all been kicked out and I’ve got angry parents and students. I’ve tried every single email address, I can no longer transpose or use any features. And there seems to be no way to contact you or get any support. I spent lots of wasted time in class trying to get this to work. Additionally I am a member of several teacher groups online, and they’re all saying the same thing. That they paid for the lifetime membership and can no longer access it or are being asked to repurchase. Your support article says to go ahead and create a new login and it will attach to the Apple ID. That does not work. What am I supposed to tell my students? That I sent them to an app that swindled them out of money by selling something that was supposed to be lifetime and really wasn’t?

best app ever

the pro membership is so worth it. built in tuner, chord book, infinite tabs & chords... and i LOVE the new social aspect of it w posting 1 min long videos. this app has everything you could possibly need

Good way to view chords

The ads I can deal with, but not being able to transpose the key without paying for it is straight up annoying. I use their website all the time, and when I try to transpose the key it says I could do so in the app. Now that I'm using the app, I can't do it without paying. It's just a little frustrating
New songs

So I’m starting to learn the guitar and this app is great for beginners. I’m learning old town road and it’s only like 4 cords you have to play hopefully I learn it and I can make videos on YouTube later. I really like this app.
Amazing app...love it!

I couldn’t find a contact developers button anywhere on this iPad. by KaylaDevinMarie on 2019/09/15 16:56

Why
by higviygfiuhg on 2019/09/14 12:58
If you don’t pay you don’t get the most useful tabs. What the heck. All I can use are the chords and not the actual tabs for the song I searched. DISAPPOINTING!!!

That doesn’t change the problem with purchasing.

by mkvffjjj on 2019/09/08 14:40

1 star
by I play lots of catan on 2019/09/07 01:03
Why one star? Is the app that bad? No. But I’m FORCED to use it when I just want to use the website. It used to be so easy. That’s why your product blew up. It was easy to use, now it’s impossible to use unless you get the app. So 1 star for forcing me to use something that I never would use and definitely don’t need. And of course. I’m blasted with ads for a premium version. JFC. WHY IS THE SONG ONLINE AND SAYS “open in app” to literally do anything but it just goes to the App Store and I can’t even find the song on the app. SELL OUT HARDER PLEASE

Great app
by Crazyfingered on 2019/09/03 16:03
Like I said already it’s a great app.

The Best

Great. I spend most of my free time with this app

Awesome

Must have
