Asleep at the wheel
by Scotlandak on 2014/09/22 19:25
Website boasts about iOS 4 support. We are at ios 8 now folks. In ios 8 this app no longer has access to photos, only can attach a scribble to an email. Had to download the gmail app to send photo. When I went for support was when I found out about how old the website is.
Far better than the Gmail app from Google
by MoldyOldyComputerGuy on 2014/09/16 19:31
This app must be a well-kept secret. I'm glad I ran across it. The Google app is a snail compared to this one. Also, the Google app is limited to five mailboxes I believe. It seems a shame this app hasn't been updated–it still has the iPhone 4 size screen. I use MailPlane on my Mac. This app is wonderful for my iPhone.
Just ok
by NjVic on 2014/03/23 13:29
It's still very laggy on 5s. Also it doesn't utilize the entire available display on iPhone 5s. Also it doesn't like embedded links. I read a lot of messages from a forum I'm a member. Mailroom does not handle those embedded links well at all.
Why is this even still here?
by downsj on 2013/09/24 20:36
It's basically just a wrapper around Gmail Mobile, I wouldn't say it's worth $3. Badges would be nice to have, then it could at least replace the stock mail app. Update: the app has grown steadily worse and no longer works properly with multiple Google App accounts. One is always in an error state-- save your $3 and just use Safari directly. Update 2: Why is this crap even still on the App Store? It's not been updated in almost two years. Gmail has changed significantly in the past two years.
I love this app
by frauline3x on 2013/06/26 22:28
Works great and I can keep track of all emails at a glance.
Great idea , bad programming
by Smfeather on 2013/05/22 13:08
This could be a great app if they would fix the bugs. The app won't scroll correctly and opens the wrong email sometimes.

by LeedAPer on 2013/02/16 13:46
No iPhone 5 update. No notifications. Adds for Gmail's mail app? Garbage.
Great for Multiple Addresses!
by Garglefrub on 2013/02/03 18:08
This is a great app if you has several email addresses - you can view them all at once without constantly signing in and out.
Useless
by Erustyy on 2012/12/24 18:38
Useless app did not work with gmail 2 step verification , and author does not even bother answering to my email
Could be better
by Sean G Mack on 2012/12/20 19:26
Should add alerts to it. Or have it to straight to the email. Not sign in when clicked on. Got a lot of emails late because it did not alert me
Good app but quite slow
by Stupid stupid app! on 2012/12/06 13:10
Neat look. Good system but really quite slow compared to MAIL that comes with thd iPhone.
Works ok
by Sharon_Baker on 2012/11/30 08:10
If you have multiple gmail accounts otherwise it''s just another viewer to Gmail like most of the rest. A little bit slow even over wifi.
Simply refreshing

This app is really great. I can check my personal and school mail in just one click. Worth the buy!!
Better than imail
by Hitting expert on 2012/10/28 02:44
Like: offline viewing, stable, reliable Dislike: no way to hide keyboard to send the email, doesn't sinc with my online gmail, no badges for unread mail
Nice
by Shawna Young on 2012/10/27 02:17
It's nice to have all accounts in one location. I wish it would give a banner, or badge when a new email comes.
Great, but no push notifications!
by LightAcolyte on 2012/10/24 05:14
A great app for multiple e-mail accounts, but fails to have a good notification system.

Go to the web in Safari and trash this app
by Antiduplicity on 2012/10/13 19:44
This app has no point. It opens safari and points it to gmail. So, why use it? use Safari.
Please add a passcode lock option!
by iWriteReviews2 on 2012/09/23 14:19

😄 nicely done.

Very well improved
by tangerine7199 on 2012/06/28 10:21
I see a sharp difference in the upgrade. I can send emails from all three accounts attached to my gmail. URLs work well too
Another 1 bites the dust
by Big neu on 2012/06/09 20:35
Even tho the color looks better than the gmail app, this is yet another app that doesn't support file attachment. I hope iOS 6 will fix that. Google phones allow u to work from w/in the app, & this is where iOS fails! Uninstall
Very pleased
by PsychBiller on 2012/06/03 15:58
Think about how complex this app really is! I have not experienced any problems. A very short lag when switching accounts so the app can log in to your Gmail account doesn't unreasonable to me. My life won't stop for 1-2 seconds. Excellent app if you have to manage multiple accounts (I'm doing 4 and could go to 5).
I love this app
by KelvAcos on 2012/04/25 22:48
Its very simple and easy to use, can check multiple emails by just clicking on the email address without going thru all the anoying log in process!
Much better that the standard apps
by we are them on 2012/04/25 02:49
It works fast for me, it manages lots more email addresses, I like it!
Rather Disappointing...
by Moto Laverda on 2012/04/01 17:38
The performance of this app is best described as **dog slow**. Could be that I am expecting too much, but moving from one mail to another or switching accounts is painful, really painful. Somehow I expected the offline feature to cache existing emails so that I could use Gmail when I have no 3G connection, which with AT&T service is all too often. Sadly, with no network availability, the app says I need to connect first before the offline feature will work. The notification badge for new mails also seems to work only occasionally. The concepts of the app are promising, but the implementation could use some serious work. Two stars for now and if I see some significant improvements, no problem bumping up the rating accordingly.
Makes it easy to access folders
by Dixieredhen on 2012/03/24 01:12
I was thinking it would let me import my groups to my contacts for iPhone use, but it doesn't. For that I needed the App called Groups.
Does A Good Job

Invaluable
by hybernaut on 2012/03/14 11:49
I've been using this every day since its initial release, and for using multiple gmail accounts (including Google Apps) .Mailroom can't be beat. The team behind Mailroom has responded quickly to Google's constant fiddling with the UI, and I have not had any problems that weren't fixed within a day or so. If you do run into any issues from gmail changes, just clear the cache from inside the Mailroom app.
Fine product
by Sgb3 on 2012/03/11 00:19
I am very happy with the software. I have tried other similar applications and this has the least re-boots and the most consistency/reliability. I'd recommend it anyone who has multiple Gmail accounts and 2or more computers.

I like it so far.
by NacahKalah on 2012/02/26 02:07
I like it so far. Still learning. little slow. crashed twice. cool, though.
Works well, not perfect but worth it
by Spookrepitus on 2012/02/24 00:46
This app has more features than the native mail app and it runs faster than the link to google mail. Best of all, it doesn't have to reload every time I go back to the inbox.
Would give it a 5...
by Jusjee on 2012/02/23 02:34
But it more often than not loads slow when opening an inbox.
Decent, but flawed
by nottheribbons on 2012/02/18 04:45
Much better performance than the standard gmail app and far superior to the iPhone's preinstalled interface, but it's slow and it crashes often.
Does nothing
by Dave Vosburg on 2012/02/13 11:27
This app does virtually nothing but automate signing into the web version of gmail. It is slow, clunky and a complete waste of money. I want my money back.
Good for multiple accounts
by VStar6 on 2012/02/11 03:00
This app is the quickest gmail app for switching multiple accounts.
user friendly
by 57U on 2012/02/09 15:12
Nice app not complicated. It works and gets the messages. Good job!
The Best App for Multiple GMail Accounts
by J.P. Corbran on 2012/01/30 18:57
Even though the Gmail web client for iOS now supports multiple accounts, it doesn't handle them anywhere near as well as this app. It does everything I could ask for; my only complaint is that it's not Universal, as there's nothing available for iPad that's even close.
Easier than the preinstalled email app

by robfuzz on 2012/01/20 01:04
I use this for my gmail on my phone and I have to admit the icon was what caught my eye. The UI is nice but it's rather slow to load. When I check boxes to delete emails it's slow to recognize the check. Speed this baby up and you get the fifth star.
Okay.
by quif on 2012/01/15 18:03
Mailroom isn't going to blow you away with excellence, but it is a convenient tool for enjoying Gmail's standard features with multiple accounts. From time to time it suffers a permanent failure to log in, and account info on the phone has to be reset. Nothing is really lost, of course, since Google's servers, not the phone, hold all the data, but this can be irritating. I still use the iOS mail app to compose/send, partly because it lets me include a signature, as Mailroom does not.

by $5 Holla on 2012/01/03 18:18
Like the app. Allows me to have multiple gmail accounts managed while staying true to gmail look and feel. Only problem is that an error kept popping up. The error was fixed promptly.
Not great. But best option for what I'm looking for
by Barstooldawg on 2012/01/03 00:30
Yes, it is slow to load when switching accounts and sometimes loads the wrong account. Backing out and reloading generally works, though. Is it great? No. Ok to good? Yes.
Still my mail app of choice
by Om1219 on 2011/12/18 02:37
I have had this app since it first came out and it's pretty good right now. Mine doesn't have crashing issues on iPhone 4s and the only minor bug I've noticed recently is if you view an image attachment the "message" button disappears to go back an you have to close and restart. I much prefer this to gmail on safari and the gmail app seems to still have terrible reviews. I personally don't care about push.
Happy with this app
by welshport on 2011/12/15 00:45
I've been using this app for a while now on my iPhone 3G. It can be slow at times, I can't say how much that is to do with me still having a 3G, but it has been the best of the Gmail apps that I have tried. I would recommend it.
So close...
by CiaoMonello on 2011/12/13 18:42
Love the icon and UI, the set up is lovely and easy to navigate, but won't load new emails unless I physically open app and reload. Would be perfect otherwise.
Better than Mail app
by markepstein on 2011/12/09 01:14
Better than Google's Gmail app and the iOS Mail app. Closer in functionality to Web-based Gmail client.

by MerkelTunes on 2011/12/06 15:05
I often find myself frustrated because of the constant crashing and because the loading took forever. I think that the recent update helped, however it's still fairly slow. I keep getting this "Error" box, and I am not sure why. does anyone else get that?
The recent upgrade worked!
by Berlins7 on 2011/12/02 16:04
This app is finally working again. It actually seems rock solid now. I'm very happy. Thanks devs!

Constant crashing
Needs work
by superbtj on 2011/10/31 00:12
I have owned Mailroom for a while, but just started using it regularly over the last couple of weeks. It crashes fairly often under heavy use. Scrolling is poor. More often than not, I end up at the top or bottom of the screen...hard to scroll smoothly. Hoping for improvements and will start looking for a replacement.
Great but needs a fix!
by Jay4592859 on 2011/09/29 01:14
This app is great for anyone who has many gmail addresses. I run my business through Gmail and I can always quickly see if I have new email in seconds without logging in. What happens is the same that everyone is complaining about, some gmail accounts will blend together and some won't even load. If you un-install the app and then re-download it and install it, it works perfect again but soon gets buggy after a week. I really wish we would see an update for this as it's worth every penny when it works like advertised! Please fix this soon!!!
Slow and unreliable.
by RyWild on 2011/09/22 00:27
Same as others... My accounts take forever to load... Sometimes fail... Sometimes stuck in endless loop. Please fix this app!

by Paigeduh on 2011/09/19 18:15
I tried to set up my work email on it's own and it doesn't work with this app so I thought I'd be able to use it through gmail but I can't send an email from that address and that is the one thing I wanted to be able to do. Please help!
Buggy but Pretty
by YUJMU on 2011/09/11 11:41
Overall this is a good app that Im trying to switch to using as my sole email app. However the other critical reviews are right-on that its basic functions are hindered by its buggyness. I think if the developer would use their own app on a daily basis for their emails they would get a sense for what needs to be fixed with more urgency. Wait for an update to purchase.
Completely Unreliable!
by nace831 on 2011/08/31 21:35
I use multiple google accounts with this app. Most times it loads the mail from one account in the wrong account. It also crashes all the time. Until they get all the little bugs fixed, I recommend not wasting your money.
Update: Working again...
by randomdawg on 2011/07/23 16:13
This app broke following recent changes to the Gmail interface. It now frequently returns errors, gets you stuck in an infinite login loop, etc. I would strongly recommend avoiding this app until these problems have been resolved. Update: Seems like Google fixed the problem behind the scenes, as Mailroom is now working as expected.
Code 1007
by Photo-gal on 2011/07/21 06:43
I get this code with a message to report but no way of sending the report. Worked fine the first two times of switching between two gmail accounts. Now either logs in continuously then asks for password or doesn't switch at all. Sometimes can't get in at all because if the error message.
Excellent app
by lovingj on 2011/05/30 10:42
Works as advertise. People are correct when they say it's a wrapper to gmail mobile site. But it allows u to use multiple gmail accounts and takes advantage of gmail's HTML 5 caching to offer a near native experience. For people crying about push, don't need it. Use your mail app for notifications. Google quickly send reads back to the mail app badge count just as they do with google voice.
Seems buggy.
by muddyrabbit on 2011/05/29 16:44
Won't switch between accounts reliably. I go to one account an it has the correct account name but displays the in box for the other gmail account. Does this about half the time.
Elegantly solves the problem
by N. PLG on 2011/05/28 03:58
If you NEED to read several Google Apps/Gmail accounts in Safari, Mailroom does exactly what you want. What is your time worth? $3.00 lets you get on to more meaningful activities, such as reading your mail :-)
Great multi account app
by Zazar.Alcazar on 2011/05/04 12:23
Just started using it. Seems like a great multi account app. Doesn't re-login into each account, so allows for some offline review as well.
Definitely worth $3 to me!
by menomineenative on 2011/04/27 02:58
Those of you that think this app is not worth the money must not be using the features it adds to gmail. I have 3 Google Apps accounts across multiple domains that I check regularly. I need to be able to quickly switch between them. Mailroom does it better than any other app I've tried. Also, my biggest pet peeve with the gmail mobile interface is the inability to view HTML emails correctly (other than that, I much prefer the gmail interface to Apple Mail on the iPhone). Mailroom handles HTML mail almost seamlessly. Mailroom adds multiple account capability and full HTML support, plus HTML 5 caching to the features I already love about gmail, such as threaded messaging, labels, and server-based filters and spam processing. Frankly, I think people are getting a bit spoiled with how inexpensive iApps are. $3? Geez! Skip that morning latte for a day and pony up!
Current Version
by jaset on 2011/04/08 04:53
Buggy buggy. Always issues black screen. Constantly have to reset. App gets worse by the update.
Good app, wish it was more like sparrow for Mac
by Listen_to_Me on 2011/03/23 05:29
Great app, with a couple shortcomings. First I would like to use aliases with my gmail account. Second there are two status bars on the to of the screen, on for gmail and one for going back to the accounts overview. One would be better. Overall it was a snappy app and better than the plain Jane web app from google. I kinda wish it was a lot more like sparrow for Mac, I would probably pay 10$ for a good app like that.
Thumbs Way Up
by Eyemo on 2011/03/17 20:27
At last, an easy way to check all my Gmail accounts in one app. Works great for me.
Great idea; milquetoast execution.
by AnthonyDaniel on 2011/03/15 23:12
This app is a great concept, and would meet a real need - if it worked. As it stands, the app is buggy, slow-loading, and overall more of a pain to use than the utility it would provide.
Three bucks is a LOT to pay for an iPad app
by DaveWinPS on 2011/03/03 00:40

Not worth the money
by ChevGrl1500 on 2011/03/02 14:27
Would give it 4 stars if it were free, but it's not worth $2.99.
Works poorly with authenticated accounts
by mas90guru ct on 2011/02/24 10:00
I am greeted constantly with requests to re-authenticate my account. The main Gmail screen went blank and I was unable to reset it to read more mail. I would not buy this again.
glorified version of Gmail's existing site
by Ignatius_J_Reilly on 2011/02/12 22:19
In my haste to find a mail client that works better with Gmail on iPhone than Apple Mail, I downloaded this -- only to realize it's just a slightly repackaged version of the Gmail site. In other words, it's an HTML interface and doesn't cache enough to be of much use offline. As an iPod Touch user it's pretty much a waste of $2.
Wishing for push
by jakedeg on 2011/02/12 07:06
Nice work. Good app. The only bad news is that the badge count is never accurate since there is no push support. Bummer. Have to leave mail.app right next to mailroom so I can have an accurate count. Please add push. The third party solutions are too clunky.
update
by bryghe on 2011/02/02 22:14
Are you serious? I paid money for this, used it daily and with the update if I don't have ios4 I cannot use this app? Nice. Hi. Are you going to fix this for people who paid for this app prior to ios4? This is really unfair and very very frustrating. Unfortunately one of the three things you are celebrating is NOT any customer service for people who bought this application to use on earlier os versions and have been left in the cold by all the updates. You can also celebrate your ability to ignore your poor reviews. Congratulations!
Good & Bad
by kidslow on 2011/01/23 15:13
The Good: - Clean support for multiple gmail accounts separates it from the free GmailApp. The interface is also superior. The Bad: - No badge on the App Icon, which is what the other reviewers are complaining about. There are interior badges with the TrueNew customization. Would like to see these applied to the app icon on a home screen with ability to choose which accounts are included in the badge count and whether or not it is based on New or TrueNew. I have to believe this is in the roadmap. - No obvious way to change the sender address (From:) when composing an email. Google allows this in the gmail interface, so dev has closed off some useful functionality in the app interface. - Easy to get lost in the Google interface to non-gmail account features and necessitate a cache clean. - No method to rename an account on the 'Accounts' screen except to delete and re-add. There are work-arounds for those last two items, but the first two keep this from 5-star. Addition of icon badge takes it to 4-star and clean up all the little stuff gets it to 5-star.
Excellent
by Logic Squirrel on 2011/01/13 17:49
I have found this works as said and I have no problems using it with my handful of google email accounts. When I did find a bug and contacted The seller they were polite and fast fixing it. In a word... Awesome.
Well, I Wanted To Like It
by Printergirl on 2011/01/07 13:46
As the owner of several email accounts, all through the gMail server, I thought I had found a workable solution. And, when it works it is great, but, at least 50 percent of the time it is never able to make a connection to my account, so I can see my emails, or, when it does, I just see a blank white screen. :( I have six accounts set up in it, and just tried to check them. Three worked fine, three gave me a white screen...no sign of emails! :( I have tried clearing the cache, as suggested by the developer if there are problems, but it still happens. I feel kind of ripped off for $3.00 now.
Solid Gmail interface
by ArataTakú on 2011/01/07 07:57
The poor app reviews are unwarranted. I do think the app needs a bit of work to reach perfection, but the dev also seems to be working to keep regular updates coming. This app is much better than using Safari and gives you the full gmail experience unlike the iPhone's mail app. I would recommend this, especially for anyone with multiple gmail accounts.
Recommended with a caveat
by Casuale17 on 2011/01/04 19:56
Pros Emails grouped by conversation Search for any email on the server Cons No push notifications App is a little slow

Works as promised but not worth 2.99
by Jimmy Quek on 2010/12/17 14:06
This app creates a "start" page that opens up the mobile version of Gmail on your iPhone's Safari. If you have multiple gmail accounts, without this app you would either use the iPhone's native mail app or create separate shortcuts for each account on your homescreen. This app combines it all on one page. However, beyond that, there's not much to justify 2.99. Especially when it does not have a push function and requires a separate Boxcar app to push. Its clunky to see Boxcar open then switch to Mailroom. Sure, it's automatic but still clunky to watch. Also, if you like to have your unique "sent via iPhone" email signature, this app won't be able to do that since it redirects you to Gmail's mobile interface. You will be using your own gmail signature.
Very disappointed

Push doesn't work, no difference from the free webapp.
Fantastic for Gmail users, forget about push
by erisynne on 2010/02/15 23:48
Mailroom is fantastic for anyone who likes Gmail, and especially if you have multiple accounts. I used to keep a bunch of web bookmark icons on my iPhone's screen, but of course when I switched from one to the other, I often had to log in again. I dunno about you, but I hate typing passwords into Mobile Safari. Mailroom makes that a thing of the past. The Address Book integration is great. And, TrueNew is just awesome. (I tend to leave a lot of mail deliberately unread, so TrueNew makes Mailroom way more useful for me than any other email program!) I like that it doesn't have a badge icon, because the last thing I need is one more thing taunting me to open my email when I've tried to learn to be disciplined about how many times I check it. Of course, I also thought Push would be nice. But then I thought about how that would work. The Mailroom guy would have to run a special web-based service - and you'd have to give them your Gmail usernames and passwords, in plain text. The only way Push could work is if they logged in as you, and checked your messages, and then sent you a push. Doesn't sound like such a good idea now, does it? I wouldn't hand off my passwords unencrypted to any hosted service. I like Mailroom how it is!
Good app, could be great
by Orion S. on 2010/04/09 22:16
Thank you for making the mail app I was looking for! It works very well for me, but there are a couple improvements needed before I can give it 5 stars. The first obvious improvement would be built-in push notifications/badge updating. It's rather frustrating knowing that I've read a message, but I didn't navigate back to the overview screen, so the badge isn't updated. Another thing I'd like to see implemented urgently is the ability to set whether you want images to load in-line by default. Maybe I'm just overlooking a setting somewhere, but this is really frustrating for me, since a lot of my emails are HTML, and I have no problem waiting a couple seconds for them to load. However, I do have a problem with having to manually tell it to load the images for every message. I am right on the verge of taking away another star, because this seems like such an obvious failing. Anyway, thanks again to the developer. If these improvements are made (or even just the latter one), I will have no problem recommending this app to friends.
Good & Bad
by kidslow on 2011/01/23 15:13
The Good: - Clean support for multiple gmail accounts separates it from the free GmailApp.
Good App...w/push Badges it will become Great
by brothersoftheangle.com on 2010/03/30 17:28
this is a great app for seperating multiple accounts into seperate mail applications (i.e. work in completely seperate app from personal email). i've been looking for something that would allow me to do just that and this app does the trick. one key thing that will take this app to the next level is if the push notifications updated the badge with the number of new messages. Currently that only happens when you open and load the app. this would take this app to the next level.
Love it!!!
by zeroair on 2010/03/08 20:29
I've tried almost all but this is the best & safest gmail app out there. Ideal, highly recommend it. The fact that it can handle multiple accounts is advantageous. Their commitment to not allow these 'fake' push notifications is courageous and gives me more faith in them. If there's one minor thing I would like to see, it would be the ability to direclty save attachments without opening Safari. Perhaps I haven't figured out how to do it yet? That update will make me a happy man and fill in the remaining star :)
Invaluable
by hybernaut on 2012/03/14 11:49
I've been using this every day since its initial release, and for using multiple gmail accounts (including Google Apps) .Mailroom can't be beat. The team behind Mailroom has responded quickly to Google's constant fiddling with the UI, and I have not had any problems that weren't fixed within a day or so. If you do run into any issues from gmail changes, just clear the cache from inside the Mailroom app.
Needs Fast App Switching
by Melodicious on 2010/08/01 08:42
This app is in dire need of fast app switching. Also, a better push notification system would help. Mailroom should utilize gmail's RSS feed for it's push (like mail notifier). This way, I get push notifications every time I get a new email message, and once I check the message, Mail Notifier sends a silent notification to update the badge number. A better solution to Mailroom's true new or whatever. Implement these two features and Mailroom will be the hands down best mail app for gmail users. Bar none.
Yessssir, thanks developers
by iPhunnn on 2010/03/24 05:11
All I REEEALY wanted was to not be bugged about app upgrades and to not have to re-enter my login/pass, ever. For a while I was puzzled about not being able to find a simple paid app that satisfied those 2 things. Another plus is multiple accounts. Handles that beautifully. Only thing I'd change has already been mentioned; the ability to hide that bar on the top.
This app delivers
by DigiSage on 2010/03/08 06:50
This app does exactly what it says it will. I find the choice of included features to make sense. It's also very fast - wayyyy faster than using mobile safari for your email. I'm so happy that those days are over, thanks to this app. I do have one feature request: add a "lock in landscape" option (not just "lock in portrait" like the app has now)
Okay.
by quif on 2012/01/15 18:03
Mailroom isn't going to blow you away with excellence, but it is a convenient tool for enjoying Gmail's standard features with multiple accounts.
Has potential...
by Jessabelle on 2010/06/14 20:17
After getting tired of the boring client that iPhone comes with, I decided to check out what the app store had to offer. This app is good, because unlike most gmail apps, it allows me to use my domain gmail account. It seems a bit slow, and I would like to see some other UI enhancements to make me feel like I'm not just using the mobile-web version... But mostly it's a good buy! Can't wait to see what else they come up with in it.
Simplifies multiple Google accounts
by Nik FrieTeB on 2010/03/16 13:02
For the most part, Mailroom is just like using Safari to access Gmail. But by adding easy support of multiple accounts, and getting rid of any requests to re-authenticate, it makes things that much easier for people with multiple Gmail/Google Apps accounts. Having access to phone contacts is just icing on the cake.
Desperately needs push integrated within app.
by oo3 on 2010/06/30 06:52
I would use this app more frequently and make it my default email app on my iPhone if they would just implement push within the app directly. Going through a third party is not going to cut it. Been using gmail growl on PC and Mac, then tying it to my Prowl app, but it I always get annoying Donate push notifications. This is the ONE thing keeping it from being one of the greatest apps on the iTunes Store.
Great app. But what doea the filing box icon do?
by Hugobugo on 2010/10/15 00:19
I found the builtin iphone mail app so inadequate i was about to get a blackberry. Then i discovrs this app and im so glad! This is the solution i really needed. But can someone tell me what the sexond icon, the one that looks like a filing box, does? Emails disapearnwhen i use it, an it cant be a "move to" icon as that is implemented elsewhre....anybody help?
Just a glorified mobile Safari
by Mvkel on 2010/02/12 14:52
I was hoping this app could replace the native Mail app, as I primarily us GMail. Unfortunately, Mailroom doesn't come close. Simple features like offline mail viewing, or attaching a file(!) are missing. Building an app that just makes GMail's mobile interface look better is not the best way to tackle this. It's not a problem people are demanding a solution for, as it's just as annoying and inefficient as opening up Safari. Additionally, the unfortunate side effect of "no background apps" means I have to sit there and wait for the mail to send before I can lock the screen. With the native mail app, I can hit send and put the iPhone in my pocket. With spotty AT&T, this is integral. In summation, I wish this app was 100% native, not just a frame.
Expensive and buggy
by 360Dave on 2010/06/14 14:00
I've been using this app for awhile and have grown increasingly dissapointed with it. I got it because of it's multiple accounts ability, but there are others that can do that and are free. It crashes all the time and simetimes it doesn't even show me the mail. I have constantly 'clear the cache' but even that isn't helping anymore. If this app were free, then I wouldn't be complaining. Not worth the money.
Fine product
by Sgb3 on 2012/03/11 00:19
I am very happy with the software. I have tried other similar applications and this has the least re-boots and the most consistency/reliability. I'd recommend it anyone who has multiple Gmail accounts and 2or more computers.
Could be faster
by robfuzz on 2012/01/20 01:04
I use this for my gmail on my phone and I have to admit the icon was what caught my eye. The UI is nice but it's rather slow to load. When I check boxes to delete emails it's slow to recognize the check. Speed this baby up and you get the fifth star.

Like the app. Allows me to have multiple gmail accounts managed while staying true to gmail look and feel. Only problem is that an error kept popping up. The error was fixed promptly.
Needs work
by superbtj on 2011/10/31 00:12
I have owned Mailroom for a while, but just started using it regularly over the last couple of weeks. It crashes fairly often under heavy use. Scrolling is poor. More often than not, I end up at the top or bottom of the screen...hard to scroll smoothly. Hoping for improvements and will start looking for a replacement.
Review
by MerkelTunes on 2011/12/06 15:05
I often find myself frustrated because of the constant crashing and because the loading took forever. I think that the recent update helped, however it's still fairly slow. I keep getting this "Error" box, and I am not sure why. does anyone else get that?
Happy with this app
by welshport on 2011/12/15 00:45
I've been using this app for a while now on my iPhone 3G. It can be slow at times, I can't say how much that is to do with me still having a 3G, but it has been the best of the Gmail apps that I have tried. I would recommend it.
Works well, not perfect but worth it
by Spookrepitus on 2012/02/24 00:46
This app has more features than the native mail app and it runs faster than the link to google mail. Best of all, it doesn't have to reload every time I go back to the inbox.
glorified version of Gmail's existing site
by Ignatius_J_Reilly on 2011/02/12 22:19
In my haste to find a mail client that works better with Gmail on iPhone than Apple Mail, I downloaded this -- only to realize it's just a slightly repackaged version of the Gmail site. In other words, it's an HTML interface and doesn't cache enough to be of much use offline. As an iPod Touch user it's pretty much a waste of $2.
Horrible, horrible app.
by elle_marie on 2010/03/29 06:22
I wish it were possible to give this app lower than one star. It's the most expensive app I've ever bought from the app store and surprisingly the most useless. It's much slower than using Gmail straight out of safari and that's saying a lot. Not to mention it doesn't support proper html to allow me to respond to what I need to. I should have stuck with the regular gmail and saved myself the money.
Easy to use!
by Karen Graff on 2012/09/01 18:04
I tried four mail apps before this one and really like it. I have three accounts and they load quickly.
It's almost there
by kcellb on 2010/03/21 03:28
What's keeping it from 4 stars is the account bar at the top takes too much room. It should just be shaking the iPhone shows/hides the top bar for a fullscreen view. 5 stars comes with increased app speed. It takes too long to go from one account to the next.
I love this app
by KelvAcos on 2012/04/25 22:48
Its very simple and easy to use, can check multiple emails by just clicking on the email address without going thru all the anoying log in process!
Fast & Easy
by arronlorenz on 2010/02/12 02:57
This app is FAST! It's been an amazing experience to be able to use the full mobile Gmail experience while not have to clunk through Safari! I gave it a 5.
Great app, would love integrated push
by Outlet on 2010/10/16 09:46
Great app, love how it refreshes mail counters in the main screen. Developer is very responsive. Would love, and pay extra for, *reliable* integrated push (OAuth preferred). Multiple account support for push would be even cooler...
Not the solution I was looking for
by HotFreaks on 2010/03/20 02:33
After playing with this app for a day or so, I've had to edit my review and my rating. There are a number of problems with Mailroom that have caused me to remove it from my iPhone and revert to the built-in mail client. 1. Its very slow: it takes forever going from startup to composing an email. 2. It does not remember the state: every time you start up, it reverts back to the accounts screen. It should stay where you left it; even the Gmail web app does this. 3. The unread count is rarely correct. Hopefully some of these will be resolved in a future release.
Not there yet
by www.grace.ac on 2010/05/04 22:30
I bought when I read a review that said it was the mailplane equivalent. Well, I bought it and tryed to use at iPhone 3GS and at the iPad.. It doesnt work that well. Its difficult to select messages and reply. Anyway I am happy to support the development and I am looking forward to tive it five stars.
Great for Multiple Addresses!

This app is finally working again. It actually seems rock solid now. I'm very happy. Thanks devs!
Multiple accounts
by Paigeduh on 2011/09/19 18:15
I tried to set up my work email on it's own and it doesn't work with this app so I thought I'd be able to use it through gmail but I can't send an email from that address and that is the one thing I wanted to be able to do. Please help!
Good for multiple accounts

Better than imail
