When you think DJ-ing is not a joke (on iPad or iPhone)
by DJ Valy-D on 2021/07/11 22:21
I never write a review. Lately I’ve extended my license with 5 more years. Just taking my old iPad AIR2, my old DDJ-SB, headphone and powered speakers. Never had a single glitch. Bear in mind that you HAVE TO BUY (in my case) the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter and if your controller doesn’t come with a power supply, you HAVE TO BUY an USB splitter with its own adapter/power supply. Otherwise your controller will not power up, or if it will, it will drain your iPone/iPad. Read the Manual, this app has more than you think.
It’s a good app

This app is really awesome for scratching and mixing with one portable turntable . The split output really makes it awesome for having the scratching on one deck coming out the left and beats on the other deck coming out the right. My only complaint is the annoying pop up that muffles the audio . its a total vibe killer. It maybe you can have the pop up do its thing but not alter the audio out put?
Essential feature set w/out bloat, MIDI mapping, promising flexible DJ solution
by CliffyPop on 2020/12/21 22:17
This is the app I’ve been looking for. The features aren’t flashy (there are plenty of great offerings though) in favor of just what you need for solid mixing. Most important is MIDI mapping. If you have a controller that outputs MIDI, you can teach it to DPP. This is so obvious and all but the most basic toy DJ apps should support this. What’s more the settings are deep and broad for really dialing in you rig. In short there’s a lot to love about this serious app for striped down mobile mixing (and much more). I’ve experienced some problems and Deezer integration is spotty. Good news is the dev seems active in updates and responded to my support message quickly (apparently he’s working on the crashing and with Deezer to solve the intermittent track loading issue). So, while I wouldn’t want to rely on this for even a casual paying gig yet, I’m willing to pay for this app and stick with it for now in the hope these problems are resolved.
Serious mobile DVS
by DaveyRockit on 2020/09/22 22:59
Read the manual, Take the time to learn, & this will be your goto. Currently using 1 Pt-01 turntable w/ timecode record & akai amx mixer. Works flawless!! Took a second to learn the softwares layout & use “instant doubles” but I can now do a real DJ set with a 1 deck setup. Again read the freaking manual. It answers every question about mapping & getting the best performance of using timecode w/ a portable setup!
Deezer restrictions killed it.
by Highanger on 2020/08/04 12:19
Restrictions only allowing you to mix some tracks in Deezer killed it for me. So long, DJPP. You used to be cool.

I CALL FOR THE BOYCOTT!
by Founder & CEO of 3P on 2020/01/12 06:41
Aside from your Interface & Business Model being Flawwed beyond measure. The cash grab practices and the newer interface has us long time users extremely miffed. The layout, it's ease of use, and it's asthetics were primarily why we justified coming out of our pockets $20. Not only did the developer remove the app's long standing asthetic appeal, but they replaced the eye candy it once was with an easy on the eyes equivalent of a toxic garbage landfill. Then, Without creating a second app to justify the MANDITORY subscription payments, these developers....theyve effectively robbed Ecah and Every one of their long time supporting customer base! The excuses they've given in other comments, for making an already-paid-for $20 app, to now suddenly require additional monthly subscription payments was lame to say the very least. Theyre reasoning is I absurd and PROPOSTEROUS! Developers....Youve indicated the cost of research, development and advertisements to be the root cause for ripping us all off? Ever heard of actually creating new products instead? How about the creation and implementation of an entirely new and separate app? Because that would absolutely be justified in requiring money to obtain and use. This just goes to show the direction some of you developers are headed in. Bankruptcy. Your company and its employees are lazy and shady. You are all trying to still eat off of an older piece of work, by ripping off those of us who bought and paid for and supported your 8 year old work. Instead of putting in the time and effort needed to recreate a newer modern program, you are stealing the invested money of original supporters and attempting to revive the cash cow you once created and sold at 20 bucks a pop. Way too shady off a business practice for your company to last much longer. May your company's sales, growth and value soon reflect the very sick, lazy, vampiric-like nature that you've displayed here in the app store. I predict you will not be permitted to steal from us again. The community surely will no longer allow you to. BOYCOTT THIS AND ANY OTHER COMPANY RESORTING TO THEFT, RATHER THAN HARD WORK AND CREATIVE INNOVATION!

Doesn’t work
by Dusty.xxx on 2019/04/22 02:01
Using Akai AMX with iPhone XS Max on 12.2. I spent almost 2 weeks testing with multiple USB power hubs, power supply’s for the hubs, USB cords, Apple authorized adaptors, sent crash reports to the developer, sent a video of my set up to the developer, tested on 2 different iPhones (also iPhone SE), restored both iPhones to factory, tested multiple Serato formats (CD vinyl & SD cards), cancelled my subscription to re add it and even purchased a brand new AMX mixer but the app still can’t find it. Everything I bought the last 2 weeks has been tested and work fine on my MPK49 but DJPP still can’t find my AMX mixer. I’ve suggested to the developers that it might be a potential bug that could be patched with an update but they they’ve only responded back with “well it should work” or “well it works with my mixer” and now they won’t email me back at all. I’ve given up and moving over to edjing/Mix Fader. The cost of a Mix Fader would have been cheaper than everything I’ve purchased to make this app try to work with my current mixer.
Crashes upon opening, since last update.
by MrMillerIII on 2019/03/19 22:26
Thanks for the crash fix, Devs!!! App is most impressive, with the 120hz display support... Been waiting since forever for that!

UI freezes when loading iTunes library
by hermiteer on 2018/09/02 22:52
What I thought originally was a misbehaving app turns out to be a UI that gets blocked when the iTunes library is loading. Additionally the app does not support playlist folders, so my meticulously organized library is a giant list with no discernible order. djay pro also has this issue, but apparently this doesn’t bother anyone else, just me. Beyond that, playback is smooth and support for external controllers and i/o options is top notch, well done!
My Favorite DJ App!
by djdwell on 2017/12/09 22:06
You’re missing out if you’re not giving this app an honest look. Dust off that MIDI gear laying around and map it... works great with my faderfox setup. Stable and trustworthy. Works with DVS and great to sync other apps since you can share clock, link, etc. Stop investing in gear that only works with one app, thanks for supporting MIDI devs!
The Best dj app on iOS HANDS DOWN!
by Blue Cosmic Hand on 2017/12/03 03:11
This is the best iOS dj app I've ever seen, not a toy. No other app can do provide such clear control over the music. It can actually be used for performances and works well. The software is solid and has all the basic dj functions crammed into an app. Awesome for practice while on the go. It had helped my dj skill move to the next level. The only thing I don't like is the subscription. $90 a year for an app seems way too expensive. PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING AN ADROID VERSION. Thanks!!
Shady Developers
by WalkingSolo on 2017/11/07 05:10
Bought this app with no in-app purchase. After updating the app, now every minute their SUBSCRIBTION ad pops up forcing you to subscribe to one of their fees making this full paid app into a useless demo.
Powerhouse!
by Coppertop One on 2017/08/07 23:04
I've been using this app for 2.5 years and its pure power. Super low latency, all 4 tracks playing & my iPad battery lasts LAX to NYC mixing the entire flight (5hrs strong). They keep out developing themselves with more power and ease of features. Well done guys! Ver 9.0.6 = the UI is clear, quick to navigate and the effects and cues are integrated better than ever.

Already bought full version of this app, now it's nerfed with a subscription. Bad form
by altimatetruth on 2017/06/12 19:08
Really disappointed that the app which I already bought is then nerfed because now they want a subscription fee. That's not customer support, that's a shakedown. Oh well, DJay or edjing here I come! Edit: in response to the developer - when they did update to djay2 they didn't nerf djay to force you to upgrade. What you did to the app would be equivalent to someone buying a car, then taking the car keys at the next service appointment, then saying "yah, even though you bought the car, we're not going to let you drive it unless you start paying us monthly".
Re: Developer Problems
by Tek115734 on 2017/06/08 04:03
This is a one star review because it is what the developer(s) deserve. This app was purchased for $19.99 being represented as a perpetual license. An update was released without warning basically bricking the application for everyone who supported it in the beginning and now attempting to extort a subscription out of said users. While it is unfortunate that the developer(s) lacked the foresight to have a sound and sustainable business model it is not the fault of the customers that have supported the app since the beginning. If negative stars were an option they would have been selected for how this situation was handled. The existing users could have been grandfathered into a perpetual license with new users having the subscription model available. What happened was essentially a bait and switch which is fraud. Another option would have been to release a new pro version with a subscription model and leave the existing users on the original version with the original terms that were in effect when they purchased the app. While this app has had more than 60 updates since the beginning it lacks innovation. Most, if not all, of the UI changes were more of an annoyance to anyone that uses the app on a regular basis. Using the term "pro" is a bit of a misnomer as this app has a number of issues that prevent it from being viable for professional users. One of them being the frequent UI changes that leave you stranded from gig to gig with no way to regress to the previous layout. Another is that it frequently crashes and force quits in the middle of using the app which is a show stopper. This has been across a number of current devices and recent iOS versions. The current subscription model says $89.99 for 60 months but it's buyer beware once they have your money. If they decide a year from now that the price point they chose is not sustainable they may get greedy and try to extort more money out of everyone again. It has already happened as you can see. I look forward to seeing what other iOS developers come up with to replace this app on my devices as we will no longer be supporting it.
Cool but one thing..

by Rgihgdd on 2017/04/03 12:32
I've been with Dj Player for a few years and I have to say, their recent update to the interface was a large step backwards. Some would say the user interface is not important, but this change was huge and in my opinion, a bad one that has led to me deleting the app. This latest version features two digital turntables in the center, just like the Edjing and Djay apps, which not only made DJ Player no longer unique from them, but made it less functionable. Nobody scratches on their iPhone or iPad using the screen. Maybe if they have vinyl or midi, but don't waste all that screen space with the vinyls! Have your own flavor DJ Player! On top of this, by adding these, many functions were added into sub-menus that made them more difficult to access when mixing. This is especially an issue if you need to access 2 parameters at the same time on 1 deck that are on different menus because you wouldn't be able to. If they didn't put the huge vinyl displays in the middle, they would have reduced the impact of this. Furthermore, the price has gone UP to use the software. I would have payed it for the old version because I loved it's uniqueness and functionality over the other popular DJ apps. But charging as much as the full version of Traktor or Serato for a limited amount of time on the full version of an app? And one that has gotten worse? Ridiculous. I've gone back to using Edjing after this last update as, unfortunately, my experiences with the app have gone from exciting and positive to annoying, frustrating, and upset. I hope DJ Player changes things because they have potential if they are willing to move away from where every other dj app is going. After all, they do have great midi and DVS support which is an awesome idea. My unedited old review of the previous version I wrote two years ago: I first began using this app completely unaware of how mixing was done. I read the little instruction packet and messed around a little first. There's a lot to see and be scared of but it's not hard to figure out if you are willing to get over the learning curve. It's by far the most professional app on the App Store and months later I still use it and I own my own professional hardware and I still love it for it's simplicity yet ability to work so easily. I mix on the train with it on my commute and it is perfect for these functions. Has almost all of the features my home setup has, and even some I wish my setup has. Do try! If you learn how to use it, the app will be much more accessible than any others on the App Store like djay or edjing.

This would be a six star app, but subscriptions are a bad idea. And you do not offer MIDI learn and Bluetooth MIDI option on the offline option DJ Player EM. These are what set you apart from the rest. I mean geez..... it does everything but video. I actually would prefer this to Djay. Adding my own MIDI devices makes this more versatile than Djay or Traktor. I like it until it asks me subscribe every 20 minutes or so. So mister developers I will change my 2 star rating to a 5 when you: A - Sell us Pro for a flat rate. Then offer the subscriptions in the app. Because I do not rent my music. I buy it. Or B - At least add the Bluetooth MIDI and MIDI learn function to DJ Player EM. So I can buy it. Then give it 5 stars as well.

Game changer!
by OzzieRox on 2017/01/06 01:47
My year subscription just ended for $20, and I'm definitely going to renew again for $20, The current version is so much visually better and cvs is tighter... I love this app using it frequently with my portablist (Numark PT01 & Vestax Handytrax)Dj setup and iPhone 6. Latency is less than 3m. Tighter than Traktor... I like how you can use different Timecode vinyl and adjust the settings to calibrate properly. I prefer using Traktor Mk2 vinyl rather than Serato's vinyl because of the accuracy and low latency... developers continue to update the app making it visually better frequently... keep up the good work!
Has to be the best!!
by StudeeO B on 2017/01/05 06:22
It honestly connects to everything every which way....I have used this for countless possibilities on my phone and iPad that traktor and serato, plus apps like djay wouldn't do!! 5 stars because it's real

by GlitchinTheMatrix on 2016/12/28 17:23
Absolutely fantastic, fully featured DJ app. Integration with Ableton Link and MIDI timecode support makes sync with a computer setup even easier. I use studiomux on iPad and a virtual midi port in Ableton Live which allows me to perfectly sync the arpeggiator on my Ultranova synthesizer (BOTH WAYS) on the fly for true live PA freedom. Once set up, works flawlessly and allows me to concentrate on what's in front of me instead of looking up at some computer screen. Holy Grail achieved, nicely done.

by GET SICK WIT IT! on 2016/12/07 07:18
The advertisement to purchase the full app comes up every song you mix. Makes the app pretty much worthless because it lowers the audio. Rather use a different app that can let me mix for fun with no interruptions. I'm not going to purchase a mixing app, I spent money on real equipment for that.
The only pro DJ app
by Allstar720 on 2016/12/06 15:55
12/6/16 update - now that there's a choice to have an old school two decks and a mixer layout, DJ Player is back to being the greatest DJ app available, and I've used them all. It doesn't have Spoitify because it's the brainchild of one guy who wouldn't be able to enter into a deal with such a big company, I'm sure. That said, this is the most pro DJ app you'll ever find. It runs so clean and glitch free. I especially appreciate that it makes stereo .wav recordings while I'm mixing in my headphones with master on one side of my cans and cue on the other. That's how to make mixtapes on the go with just your headphones, kids. Try that with the other popular ones (except for Traktor) and the recordings are in mono.
top of the pile
by decibillionaire on 2016/12/06 12:29
still technically the best dj software, on par with traktor. but the subscription model and additive approach have alienated me as a hobbyist. cloud features are nice, but another isolated music management system is an iffy value proposition for anyone these days. all that said, i highly recommend this to pros and controllerists.
Amazing App, missing some final touches though
by AdamRitenauer on 2016/12/01 18:18
I can actually take this app into a DJ booth, it's quite amazing. It falls short of 5 stars though. Absolute mode for DVS really doesn't work, and the midi mapping settings need a lot of help. Though I have high hopes for future versions

by NBaits on 2016/10/19 10:27
I purchased DJ Player. I loved it. Best DJ app on the market. But one day, I open my favorite app, and find that the layout has completely changed. I was displeased, but gave it a chance. Then the music cut out, and a box asked me to register. I figured it must be a mistake, since I already paid for this app. So I emailed the developer. Sure enough, the developer felt like the 'pay once' business model was not 'sustainable', and changed it to a monthly subscription. It wasn't a subscription service when I purchased it. The developer even referenced the Apple EULA, which basically says he can do whatever he wants, whenever he wants with the app. I feel like my money was stolen, and then he has the audacity to ask for more? Bad business. Poor ethics. All negativity aside, this is still probably the best DJ app available. But be careful when purchasing from this developer, you might wake up to find your money flushed down the drain.

DJ Player HUD is Changed (8.0.3)
by Nicomanism on 2016/08/25 16:34
Recently, my IPod Touch 6 had a crack on my screen and was not able to access it on my device. When I got my device a new replace screen, it forced me to lose the original version (7.7) of this application to forcing me to use version (8.0.3). Once I tested the latest version, I freaked out. It's buggy when you want to mix it with you fingers and doesn't even allow you to switch over version's (7.7) DJ interface. iMect, I don't understand why you're doing this. Please make an option where you can switch the original DJ interface (7.7) to latest interface (8.0.3 as of 8/25/16) anytime you want . Please fix this considering I can DJ on both my iOS device, iPod Touch 6, and on my turntable. Please fix this! Thanks, - Nico

Excellent - Professional - Intuitive - Deep
by Brodyism on 2016/08/19 16:28
I now perform almost entirely with DJ Player Pro on my iPad. I’ve Midi mapped a bunch of different controllers to it with amazing results and love the audio and midi routing possibilities. Recent updates have been welcomed warmly and the developer listens to feedback. There is a lot going on - enough to please the professional but intuitive enough for the beginner. Patiently awaiting audio bus or inter-app audio support for better effects routing. Overall an excellent, stable, performance tool.
So, while I wouldn’t want to rely on this for even a casual paying gig yet, I’m willing to pay for this app and stick with it for now in the hope these problems are resolved.

by Family name on 2020/12/28 07:30
This app is really awesome for scratching and mixing with one portable turntable . The split output really makes it awesome for having the scratching on one deck coming out the left and beats on the other deck coming out the right. My only complaint is the annoying pop up that muffles the audio . its a total vibe killer. It maybe you can have the pop up do its thing but not alter the audio out put?

WAY TO MUCH...FUN! (And Productive)
by alientek on 2011/10/15 09:06
This past weekend I played a set for a couple of hours using DJ player. It was a friends last minute birthday party, so when I got there he said he was sorry he wasn't able to get a DJ setup together since he wanted to hear me play. He asked if I brought any CDs or an iPod, to which I replied that I brought the DJ setup. I had my iPad and bag with my accessories and asked him to connect me to his stereo. A few people made some wisecracks about not wanting to listen to someone play DJ Hero. A few songs in and it was officially a party. I have been spinning professionally since 1987 and although I would not use it for a paying gig (yet) I have started using it to listen & mix new tracks to get familiar with them. No more having to be at the decks to do so. Now I can sit just about anywhere anytime and enjoy the music. A couple wrinkles aside it is almost flawless. BPM detection is still very hit & miss with non 4/4 tracks. And the "Constant Power" x-fader setting is anything but. But the new Loop FX panel is the ABSOLUTE DOPENESS!
Why did you removed dropbox?

Serious App for DJing, Not a Toy
by funkadelick on 2013/07/11 15:16
If you do any research at all on iPad/iPhone apps for serious DJing, DJ Player will come up again and again and let me tell you, it's earned it's reputation. In the land of push-button DJ's, this app takes the craft back to it's roots where you actually have to work to get a good mix, and it ain't for the faint of heart. I've been DJing for 15 years, used every kind of software and hardware out there, and I feel like DJ Player is the gear I've been waiting for! If you are considering using your iPad to DJ, this is the app you need. Tons and tons of features, user friendly layout, multiple input/output options (including wireless syncing). On top of all that, the guys at iMect give DJ Player lots of love and attention and are constantly updating the app, so you can feel confident in the middle of playing live that the app won't crash. One thing that thoroughly impressed me was the day I got the app (bought the upgraded version right out of the gate), I had a minor issue with track playback. Sent them an email with my concerns, and promptly got a reply sorting the issue out (operator error, nothing to do with the app). I can't recommend this app enough. Totally worth it.
Just like daft punk
by Kparonable on 2014/08/08 05:24
This app is great, especially for a novice who is trying to learn. The overall look of the app is very sleek and simple. All of the controls were organized and placed accordingly to make it the look and feel of the app seemless. The app was difficult to understand at first, but I was able to get the hang of it after a couple of tries. I really liked how this app allows you to remix your own music from your iphone library. This was great because it gave me a selection of music that I already enjoy. I also like that I can just hook my phone up to my speakers and use the app at the same time, so it's as if I'm actually djing.
A fantastic tool that's fun to use.
by Walt D on 2012/03/01 19:39
With periodic updates that add substantial features, this has proven to be a great investment. Sure, the price is high, but if you aren't looking for a mere toy, it is worth it. The precision with which you can set up cues and beatmatch is fantastic. And while I had grown accustomed to calculating BPM in other computer programs, this app does a great job of detecting the BPM automatically (although the option to tap out the BPM manually is here, if you need it). This app is very versatile and fun to use. I can't recommend it enough to anyone serious about DJing. There is a steep learning curve if you've never done any real DJing, but again, if you are serious about trying to learn, you'll acquire skills that will translate to any other professional DJing solution (I say "any other", because this is a real contender, and frankly, one from which I wouldn't want to switch back). The only real downside is that there aren't really any resources or tutorials anywhere that I've found to help with the learning curve for newbies. It may very well be daunting for a newcomer. Oh, and the new live camera for iPad 2 is pretty cool as well (turn it on in the mixer page)!
Don't get cheated
by NBaits on 2016/10/19 10:27
I purchased DJ Player.
Awesome!
by LadyVara on 2015/03/20 11:56
I luv this app, i luv making music from it. But I have a few suggestions. First off, get rid of the Upgrade thing that pops up and ruins my recording every few minutes. It super duper annoying and no one likes it. Secondly, when you first open the app for the first time, have a tutorial like normal apps do! I have had to figure out how to do stuff, and I only figured out a third of what I can do! And finally, maybe have some tracks u can use to do an under beat. For example the beat from Clarity I can mix the All About That Base. Put some Dubstep you can use for under beats!!!!! Other than that excellent app!
A vinyl DJ is converted
by El Pedro Del Oeste on 2012/12/09 05:19
I've been a DJ for 17 years - played vinyl, cd's and digital. I've been using iPads to DJ for over two years, using most other apps out there, including the expensive ones. This is the best, and thanks to multi routing in iOS6 it'll be the last one I use. I've now DJ'd a set wirelessly in the middle of the dancefloor using NetOut, being truly expressive with my gestures triggering cue points and effects. It was the opposite of looking bored while pointing one finger at cute miniature turntable graphics. I love vinyl, don't enjoy the laptop jockey thing, but I want all the power/tricks and DJ Player does it while remaining fun - and integrates with my vinyl setup nicely.
On a solid path to 5 🌟s
by LAX2TLV on 2013/03/14 19:31
As a veteran DJ-software user, I've tried close to everything to hit the market, from the pioneering PCDJ of the 90s to Serato and Traktor. I strongly believe that this app has got the touch-based DJing paradigm right: functionality-centric interface design. Daring to deviate from the standard iOS conventions, the dev/s put forth a refreshing, highly functional, solution. There is, indeed, much room for improvement, as is expected in any radically new design. Sure to come...
Great update! Welcomed functionality improvements
by @JgreenawayJ on 2013/05/08 06:18
I had to review this after all of the grief this fantastic upgrade's been getting. YES, it looks different and OMG I CAN'T DO THE SAME COOLNESS I COULD BEFORE THE UPGRADE- IT MUST BE THE APPS FAULT. Wrong. All the functionality's there, it took me maybe an hour to get acquainted with the new look but I love its design, side by side waveforms are a HUGE pro, everything that could have been improved in my opinion has been tuned and excellently so. Best app I've purchased from the app store! So please, Gabor, ignore the naysayers and 'Haters'. You've done amazing work and this upgrade only solidifies my love for DJ Player.
Fantastic Job
by Fistsofsteel4yourface on 2014/07/18 17:21
I use this app with my ipad and my numark mixtrack pro 2. First off I want to thank you for the constant updates and descriptions of the new update. I'm shocked to see that there are no reviews yet. This app is great and it helps me make use of the expensive apple products I already own instead of forcing me to go buy a MacBook and a version of traktor or serato $$$$$. It definitely turns heads when I play and people wonder where my computer is. Just wanted to say thanks, and I look forward to future updates.

Thanks!!
Ready out of the box
by chaudfroid on 2011/07/05 05:53
Not having taken out my turntables since before my kindergartener was born, i was able to match beats within fifiteen minutes of getting acclamated to the interface. It was a wonderful experience and i think the standard mixer setup with ipad intuitive gestures makes for something i could have lots of fun with. Too bad i cannot record sessions to review. I cant wait to dj our drive to Austin this week!
WOW
by GlitchinTheMatrix on 2016/12/28 17:23
Absolutely fantastic, fully featured DJ app.
Very easy to use!
by Dominic Sette on 2014/08/04 19:47
This is by far one of the easiest most versatile DJ app it there. This app allows you to take music directly from your library and mix it right here on your I-device. This may seem corny but my favorate part is that you can swipe up and down and it will seem as if your scratching a record. I recommend this to any newbie or even advanced DJer if that's a word because it is easy to use but has nice advanced controls.
I'm not a DJ, but wow!
by Drumkat on 2013/03/10 13:35
Maybe not a fair review, as I'm not a pro dj (I'm a musician) and I got this app for free for the day it was on sale, but since I don't have a laptop anymore I wasn't sure what I was going to use to DJ a 500+ dance last night. Then I remembered this app. Wow, so easy and awesome. 100x better than using iTunes. Cross fades, beat matching, just everything I could've wanted/needed. Worth the money if you use it twice I think. Awesomeness on my iPad.

Helps if you don't have the money to get good equipment. Let me just say it's fun and it's good to impress your friends especially with high quality speakers or low-quality doesn't really matter I am pressed a group of my friends when they came to my house I had a DJ set up but no mixers or turntables they asked what I was using and I said this cool app and each and everyone of my friends got it
Not perfect, but well crafted app
by ortega194 on 2014/08/10 03:20
I dabble in mixing for fun and this app is probably one of the nicest ones I've worked with on my phone. The interface is vibrant, good fx options, pitch shifting, the standard. My only problem is that it's not incredibly intuitive. Takes a while to get really used to all the things you can do, but once you get the hang of it, you can create some sweet mixes off this thing.
Fantastic, easy and fun app!
by Beginner DJ on 2012/11/30 14:59
This is a very well designed and executed app. Fun, easy and great results after 5 minutes of testing. Very intuitive for basics. Quality of platform really sets the bar for apps high. I've never done any DJ work but results were staggeringly good IMHO. It looks like there are a ton of options which are explained in the Internet instructions link. Some items I don't get but I had fun scratching the surface and might just ignore these advanced options. I will note that I have found most apps to be a real disappointment. This DJ app however is the real deal. I look forward to using more and showing off my new skills. A nice way to revisit some of my forgotten music and mix it in new ways. Have fun!

This app is awesome! I love it because I like to make my music and this app helps me! But in the description it states that it's just like one of those things that professionals use, and there was even a picture of dubstep pads it might be there maybe I'm just an another annoying person you have to deal with, I don't know! But anyway this app is great so keep up the the good work! JUST ADD DUBSTEP PADS!!!! 😂😂
Great but...

This app is amazing and has a great interface it works really well standalone. I just have one question, I saw a Portablist use this app with a turntable which leads me to believe that you can connect other turntables and digital mixers. I paid the $10 for the pro version thinking I could do so but I can't . How do you make it work?

My Main DJ App
by Peter03102 on 2014/02/16 23:02
I own several of the best DJ apps for the iPad. But this app stays on my iPad all the time. It's small size and functionality stand out in my book. This app is universal and works on older devices. This app is frequently updated. There is a book to learn how to be a DJ with this app. There is a active community. All linked inside the app. Works we'll on my iPad Air ios 7.04
Clean Fun Mixing
by diggeyeleven on 2014/08/04 22:02
After messing around with this app for a while I have to say I'm impressed. Very clean interface and quick loading of music from my library. It has plenty of tweak to mix all the music I want the way I want. It loads quick and works just as quick with the change in frequencies, tempo, and beats.
good
by dsslsz-0833 on 2014/04/03 06:12
It's a really nice app thats very entertaining. I think this one's the one thats the most similar to the original. Except this ones better because you get metals like platinum, gold or silver. Also the bird's blue which is pretty nice cause i was getting tired of the usual yellow one. Definitely recommended for anyone and a great way to kill time.
WITH A FIX...
by Marlee23984 on 2015/08/02 22:19
The app looks great and let's you customize colors, awesome! I have an IDJPRO and the mapping is very off, I am not to tech so I can't figure out mapping 😖 if it was mapped properly and even with the best "scratch samples" authentic vinyl when I begin to scratch it sounds horrible, I understand it is an "app an controller" But I think it's possible to make it sound close close to the real thing. Hope you can take time to rework the IDJPRO would be 8 stars
Not bad
by Trung Dung 0306 on 2015/06/26 02:07
Very solid performer. Really fun, useful and trustworthy 100%. The app works perfectly fine and also makes you learn the beat. Recommend either if you just wanna play or use it on nay party, has everything that's needed for mixing songs. This app really deserves to be famous you should really get it.
Perfect for New DJs
by silverm34 on 2015/10/29 06:01
Don't go to edjing 5 or anything like that, and don't be fooled by the many buttons in this app. It's quite simple after a little practice. The only downside is that a notification mutes the sound of the mix every few minutes, but that's a small price to pay for a free app.
My Favorite DJ App!

Bought this app with no in-app purchase. After updating the app, now every minute their SUBSCRIBTION ad pops up forcing you to subscribe to one of their fees making this full paid app into a useless demo.

It honestly connects to everything every which way....I have used this for countless possibilities on my phone and iPad that traktor and serato, plus apps like djay wouldn't do!! 5 stars because it's real

WOW
by GlitchinTheMatrix on 2016/12/28 17:23
Absolutely fantastic, fully featured DJ app.

This is pretty legit especially on larger iPhones. I can get good ideas comfortably without having to setup my actual equipment...portable and responsive.
Advertisements every 2 mins
by GET SICK WIT IT! on 2016/12/07 07:18
The advertisement to purchase the full app comes up every song you mix.

This is the most impressive DJing app I have ever seen. I couldn't be more impressed with an iPhone app for DJing There are a lot of cool features my favorite are: controller support, easy to navigate design, and high-quality sound And it's free to try I say stop looking at reviews and just download it 😀

No rewind
by Fireson98 on 2016/11/01 08:13
I would like to have a rewind on the play button again because no other app allows me to rewind music as easy as this app. Also, you should make an update that allows me to switch between the previous interface and the new one because I got used to the previous interface and it looked better.

by NBaits on 2016/10/19 10:27
I purchased DJ Player.

Please remove subscription pop up!
by Family name on 2020/12/28 07:30
This app is really awesome for scratching and mixing with one portable turntable . The split output really makes it awesome for having the scratching on one deck coming out the left and beats on the other deck coming out the right. My only complaint is the annoying pop up that muffles the audio . its a total vibe killer. It maybe you can have the pop up do its thing but not alter the audio out put?

Great update! Welcomed functionality improvements

WOW
by GlitchinTheMatrix on 2016/12/28 17:23
Absolutely fantastic, fully featured DJ app.
Fun
by ITLJ_tyler on 2016/01/22 19:07
Helps if you don't have the money to get good equipment.
Have fun!

Powerhouse!
by Coppertop One on 2017/08/07 23:04
I've been using this app for 2.5 years and its pure power.
Only one thing wrong
by Civil Gaming on 2015/09/30 02:27
This app is awesome! 😂😂
Great but...
by Kingdom of Prussia on 2016/05/01 19:12
This app is amazing and has a great interface it works really well standalone.

My Favorite DJ App!
by djdwell on 2017/12/09 22:06
You’re missing out if you’re not giving this app an honest look. Dust off that MIDI gear laying around and map it... works great with my faderfox setup. Stable and trustworthy. Works with DVS and great to sync other apps since you can share clock, link, etc. Stop investing in gear that only works with one app, thanks for supporting MIDI devs!
