Can’t upload photos!
by WildKnitter on 2019/12/14 12:41
I used to be able to upload photos easily and the WordPress app had a great Gif library. Now there’s no gif library and every time I try to upload an image, it fails. FIX THIS!!!
Very frustrating user experience!
by C. Michele on 2019/12/12 23:21
This app is very unreliable and doesn’t allow me to upload changes to my drafts. It keeps saying my device is offline when it’s not or says that I’m still loading media after the images are fully loaded. It also makes the images appear dozens of times in my media library. I would not recommend this app to anyone, incredibly frustrating experience! No idea how this app rates so highly in the App Store.
Classic tool that every serious blogger should use

Good grief. Is there anything better? What I have wrought here has amazed me and I am just scratching the surface.
Keep Blogging
by Upperkc on 2019/12/12 02:09
I've enjoyed Wordpress for many years now. It is a fun outlet to showcase my interest. Others find a business, I'm just a tiny blog, still at one visitor every now and then. I know it takes being active to be better blogger. I recommend this, 5stars.

Crash crash crashing on iPad Pro
by James Marcus Bach on 2019/12/10 14:55
I have a new iPad Pro and I am trying to connect to my WordPress installation (latest version of WP as of this writing). I had an old version of my site connected to the app, so I deleted that and reconnected to my current site. I am on public Internet at a Starbucks, but the web seems reasonably fast. I am able to see comments and a list of my pages, but it grinds to no effect when I want to look at my posts. It grinds and grinds for several minutes and then the app crashes (it disappears and I have to restart it). It’s so jarring and rare for ANY app to crash on an iPad, especially a shiny new modern one with lots of memory and such. I would call this a one star review except I have seen this app work on my previous iPad, and I like how the customer service people are paying attention and responding. We have to honor that. Hope you fix this thing!

Photos getting renamed
by Deuxmorteeee on 2019/11/28 23:49
Before I used to be able to upload photos via the mobile app named as photo1.jpg and that's what the file name would show up as. Now, after this update, all my photos (despite having descriptive file names) are getting renamed to random strings such as 1ecd792c-2e46-4e3a-9e14-f635b53fdb05. Please fix this!
Last update was trash
by zzwsrctybcsw on 2019/11/27 12:46
I loved this app, but the last update broke the app as far as l’m concerned. For one thing it is asking me to sign in multiple times and does not act as as if it understands the stay signed in check box. I also had to uninstall and reinstall the app to even get the app to open at all.
Awesome!
by Drei023 on 2019/11/26 15:58
Seriously useful and must-have app if you run a WordPress site (or, like me, several!) Not only can I publish and edit posts on the go, I’ve found myself using this app for traffic stats much more than Google Analytics lately.. it simply ROCKS! In fact, I really only use my laptop these days to install or change plug-in settings. Seriously loving the desk-free life! This app + the Google and Facebook ad managers make it totally possible!
Bad Update!
by A Daily Wordpress User on 2019/11/26 06:52

Why Does WP Make Everything Hard??
by Anellah on 2019/11/24 05:12
My self hosted sites worked fine on the app before today’s update. Now it won’t let me access any of them on my iPhone or iPad. It shouldn’t be this hard to blog.

Nonstop glitches
by Matthew2442 on 2019/11/19 17:43
It seems, with the increase of good features, there’s a never ending series of new and/or repeat glitches that makes using the app for writing & editing blogs very aggravating. I don’t use the app exclusively for writing (not possible for what I do) but just the stuff I do use it for... well... it’s a 3-star rating.
Why would you make pop ups!?
by sirsipher on 2019/11/16 20:05

by Soing B. Massung on 2019/11/15 06:16
No use! Why, everything is a game, no proper explainations, just one sided hurt, abuse, and shamming of the unsuspecting all while their lives get ruined in the process. What is the point of seeking out help if the help joins in to inflict more pain and suffering while charging absolutely outrageous prices, holding your own data for ransom!
A GREAT APP FOR BEGINNERS!
by SoonernSC54 on 2019/11/14 17:47
They have several areas to go for help. If you need examples on how to maneuver through WP or set up your site, you can easily find it. Once you've learned the basics, you can find tons of other ways to enhance your pages. Some require a small cost and some don't. After searching several other top websites, this is why I chose WordPress.
Stopped working

Problems after iOS13
by Jaredwhamilton on 2019/11/12 15:58
I don’t know what happened, but now after the iOS 13 upgrade, this app does not easily refresh stats. I have to switch between week/day view, completely close the app, and generally just “play around” until it finally shows stats for the day. Sometimes if you refresh, you’ll only get the previous day’s stats. Switching to week and back to day will show today’s stats. Incredibly annoying.

One Option Requested
by Mister Privacy on 2019/11/05 16:28
I like this app BUT I’d like to see and option allowing for allowing a non-default login page URL to be entered. I use a plugin that “masks” the default WP login URL with a URL of my own creation making it very difficult for hackers to access my sites. But, since this app always assumes the default WP login URL, I can’t use this app. It’s a simple option to add. Please consider it. Thanks.
Becoming More Unusable
by Morgan Jo on 2019/11/05 14:15
I do all of my real WordPress work on my computer, so I don’t explore all of the features of the app, however... for the one thing I use it for, it’s basically pointless. I only use this app to check my stats and traffic info. 9/10, it loads yesterday’s data with today’s date. Sometimes it loads a completely arbitrary number. Sometimes, it just won’t load anything at all. I’ve decided to log into my WordPress on Safari on my phone and use that to check stats rather than use this app. Hope they fix it because this looks like it has been an issue for a long time.

by Cnjsmom2 on 2019/10/31 14:45
I had a site. It used to work. Now it doesn’t take my password. I knew it was right but decided to change it since it didn’t want to change it. Got the email and changed it. Still won’t take the new password. Visited the forum. Doesn’t seem to be any simple fix. Will just have to kiss it goodbye I guess.
No galleries?
by t.dot.m on 2019/10/29 12:22
I love Wordpress, but this app is very far behind what is current in the Wordpress world. The new block editor is really cool, but it can only do a few rudimentary blocks. It doesn’t even support image galleries! The slow progress on this app vs. all the other cool stuff happening on Wordpress seems like a pretty major oversight given mobile phones are becoming the primary way of engaging with the online world. I hope the devs give this more priority soon.

I do not trust this app to compose posts
by jchriscook on 2019/10/27 13:59

So many updates, so many fails.
by Jentropy on 2019/10/25 12:28
Welp, I finally got a brand spanking new iPhone and was excited because the WordPress app actually worked for about a month without a hitch. Now it’s back to failed media uploads, and I’m unable to edit posts or view schedules posts by other authors. Honestly pretty disappointed with this app. Devs would be better off focusing on making the mobile site better and just scrapping this app.
Image upload bug (Update)
by StanUlrik on 2019/10/24 10:16
I received an email from you (the developer) asking if the bug was with the featured image; The answer is yes. I still have the bug, despite updating **** Original review When I write a new blog post, and add an image via post settings, it upload the text, but it does NOT upload the image. Basically, I have to write the blog post, and ONLY then, when the post is uploaded, I have to edit it and upload the image. This has been a burden, because I work for an online company that posts a lot of blog posts, and it takes a long time for me to post anything because of that small issue. Please fix it, as it would help me and probably others a lot
Keyboard lag

Long Time User, Not Anymore
by TMC28 on 2019/10/21 11:06
I've used the WordPress app on my iPhone 7 for years without issues. Since the ios 13 updates, it's become nothing but annoying. I can't scroll any article that include links of any kind, without those links loading. What's really bad is no matter how gently I scroll past those links, they still load 90% of the time. Annoyingly, it takes 2 or 3 presses on the back button to escape the various links. I read mostly political sites with tons of links. I'm tired of wasting time using a platform I have to navigate through, like a minefield. Until it's fixed I'm not using WordPress at all, just Safari to read Sundance, which works without issues. 10.21.19 Edit: All is well in WordPress for my needs. In fairness, I'm not sure if the issue was with WordPress or the ios 13 updates. There have been several updates on both over the last month. Somewhere in those, it was fixed. It's place on my phone has been restored.
Click post-settings = CRASH
by Newer Reviewer Tour on 2019/10/20 16:42
The app crashes and just vanishes if you click post-settings on a WordPress.org site you are trying to edit. Unusable. Other fun bugs: - publish option disappears. - app freezes where all clocks on anything are ignored.

Loss of faith in the product
by @smaedli on 2019/10/18 00:29
Once again I’ve had an offline draft trashed by the app, which resulted in losing about 4 hours of writing and editing. I no longer trust the Wordpress app as it doesn’t fail safe — it fails with data loss. If you author posts offline (say on long flight without WiFi), AVOID using this app and compose in anything else. It is a shame, really, that the Wordpress app can’t function on the level of the most rudimentary iOS text editor. Loss of a star, loss of faith... — (Edit: It is great to hear that a number of the issues I’ve mentioned below are on the roadmap and that the app is not in maintenance mode. Thank you, Automattic, +1 for paying attention and raising hope for something better) — Aesthetics and ancient UI aside, I’m disappointed in its utter lack of any reasonable offline editing support (it kinda works, but one wrong tap and you’ve lost the draft you’ve been working on) as well as its inability to render basic HTML. Don’t believe me? It can’t render definition/description lists, a common staple of formatting for literally decades. Author a DL and it shows as simply “[DL]”. DLs aren’t exactly cutting edge and new... This app rises to the top only because the others out there only aspire to be as good as this product (which is a very low bar). I expect more from the top blogging platform on the planet, but it is what it is: an app for maintaining your Wordpress blog and little else.
Recent version not working well
by Jens_Happy on 2019/10/17 08:48
Over a month ago: The upgraded version started listing my sites in triplicate and crashing. Could not keep it open. Got even worse recently. Could not find any relevant support topics. Now threatens me with error messages as if my site is infected. I deleted the app and am reinstalling it now. I used to love this app for monitoring my sites. It was successful at easily looking up site visits by post, search terms, search engine, country, followed links, with valuable statistics. I could check on drafts of blogs and rewrite or post them on the fly; edit and post blogs, integrated with pics from my cell phone; and check on new posts from other sites I am following. I regret that I didn’t rate it before, because it would’ve been five stars then. If reinstalling the app doesn’t work, I will just go back to looking up my sites in a browser window.
Limited functionality
by honogica on 2019/10/16 16:29
Yes, it’s a mobile app, and ten years ago that would have justified its limited functionality and beta-like business, but not any more. The phone I use today has twice the computing power of the desktop computer I had when I first used WordPress. There’s simply no reason a Mobile app doesn’t have the same options I can get access to through a desktop computer. Add to that it’s inability to communicate properly with the desktop site (like how it almost never recognizes posts started, scheduled, or even published from the desktop) and it’s annoying built in bugs (it’s actually designed to pick up already used tags only after you type at least two letters (really? If I have to remember at least the first two letters then I’m actually forced to memorize them all... so what’s the point?). I suggest the top brass as WordPress use only this app for all their publishing needs for the next month. I’m certain we’d see some improvements. Until then I’ll just fumble through this as best I can going back and forth between app and desktop because, frankly, the website isn’t exactly mobile friendly. But then, neither is the mobile app.
Inconsistent
by dodisview on 2019/10/16 15:42
I use this to upload photos from my phone and have discovered that it’s best to upload the photo but do not place it in your post from the app. Last week I uploaded 10 photos and put them straight into my blog then published it. It looked great from my phone. However, 2 days later I pulled it up on my desktop and ALL the photos were sideways. I ended up having to delete it all from the post and redo all the photos, descriptions, everything from my desktop. As others have also noted the app seems to keep draft posts. In fact I had a draft still showing up that I had published from my desktop. When I deleted the draft, guess what? My post was gone too ...so be careful.

Vertical Images upload horizontally
by Angrybirdhimself on 2019/10/13 03:21
The feature to contact support fails every time I try to send a message, so I’m posting my issue here. Just recently, every time I upload a vertical image from my iPhone to my blog, it uploads it horizontally. It’s never done this in the past 3 years of me posting 100+ blog posts.
It's just too frustrating
by Jazz 2498 on 2019/10/12 22:49
I spent an hour just trying to get this thing to work with me but it did not save what I wanted, I spent forever trying to figure out how to change a title, and the log in steps felt like unnecessary hoops. I am not some 80 year with no tech instincts. I would have had an easier time using Facebook. It should not be this hard. 😞
Pretty good
by Banana Moon Studio on 2019/10/12 14:37
I like being able to add pictures and posts on the go. It’s really nice to be able to reply to comments from the app. What I do with the app most however is check stats. It’s working fine now, but some past glitches are why I gave it four stars instead of five.

Our Servers Consider The App As In Attack Mode
by OutdoorEyes on 2019/10/10 10:52
After all these years, our servers “Pair Netwirks” blocks the IP address where you are at the moment as the server thinks my blog is being attacked by the Wordpress App. We really wish we could use your app. Pair Networks hosting of WordPress still blocks the IP Address you are on at the moment when you log in using this WordPress App. Has any progress been made regarding this particular issue? We have 5 WordPress Blogs and it does the same for all the blogs (blocks IP address). Thx. I've been trying to use the Wordpress App for the past 2+ years. The software design indicates to our servers that the software is in attack mode and bans and blocks whatever IP address we are at the moment. I can use the app and log in. Once in, Pair Network blocks the IP address as the server thinks that the software is trying to hack the Wordpress blog. I've discussed it multiple times with Pair Networks and it's in your log in code that does this. I've been using Pair Networks for 20+ years and Wordpress for as long as Wordpress has been out.
Can’t Log In
by Thewholeboard on 2019/10/09 18:58
Whenever I try to log into the App (Wordpress) on the iPad, it says that the password is not correct. I do know for a fact that the password is correct and for some reason, I am unable to log into my sight using the App. I can log into my site using a computer, but not the iPad App. This is why the 1 Star review. If someone can reach out and let me know what is going on, that would be appreciated. Once I can log in and use the App (to see if it works), I will change my review.
Problems.
by Amyshore on 2019/10/09 02:30
I have had difficulty with this app. I wouldn’t rate it 5 stars for being user friendly. As outdated as Blogger was it still was easier to use than this. I’ve got a message in to help center, so let’s hope they can help. It created a clone site (or I inadvertently did—how could that happen?) that will not publish or preview. Now I realize why I had so much trouble posting. I’ve used it successfully for a while but recently I’ve realized that the info pages I’ve created show up instead of my current post. Anyway it works but I can’t say I’m thrilled, especially lately. Perhaps it got more sophisticated and I didn’t?

by Macrophyllum on 2019/10/08 04:57
I use this app daily, it’s awesome to quickly see stats of my website. However, somewhere between iOS 13.1 and the most recent update, 9/10 times it just says, “Loading stats…” and the graph never appears. Other pages stats below the graph seem to update. I hope there is a fix for this soon! 🤞

The Blog Post In Block Editor
by UNroyalReneeKeke on 2019/10/05 15:53
I really like the block editor except when it comes to seeing a post on someones website and it looking janky when viewing sites on a phone. I find if the block editor only looks the way it should on a laptop/desktop and not phone (what people are mainly using these days) it seems useless to use the columns and a photo next to a heading.

I am having problems scheduling and posting posts. I use this everyday or sometimes twice and it’s very aggravating. The only way I can post is to use the web browser. I liked the app way much better but haven’t been able to. No the app and on line is where the problem is. Also now the app keeps kicking me off as soon as I click the icon.
Limited
by CherylNorman on 2019/09/27 16:20
I’ve used Wordpress for years and loved it, yet lately the app changed and I can no longer resize photos. I take high res pictures, but I previously downsized them when inserting into posts so they would load faster. I shouldn’t have to resize my photos before uploading. I never had to in the past. Now I’m losing readers because they don’t want to wait for photos to download. Frankly, I don’t have time to go back and redo it. Nor do I have access to my desktop to use the full Wordpress site.
Gets better with each update

I’ve been using WP for years and unlike most apps that you have no idea what’s actually being updated, this one adds real functionality and features.

Great WP blogging app needs multiple account support
by Kiri Pawo on 2019/09/18 13:15
If you use WP, you need this app. It makes blogging on the go easy, accessible, and functional. I can write, post, and manage my posts easily and keep up with comments and maintenance when I’m not at home or the office. FEATURE REQUEST: Multiple account sign-on. Please, let users with more than one WP account sign-in and stay logged in without having to switch accounts by logging out of the app. That’s the only missing feature in your otherwise fine app.
Post upload fail
by Lisanich on 2019/09/17 14:34
I have been really happy with Wordpress until lately. W/ or w/out images included, my posts are failing to upload about half the time I attempt to post. My cache is cleared, I have space, WiFi is working? Sometimes switching between the classic and block editing will allow it to post—I have no idea why this would make a difference. Recently I’ve had no luck in getting my most recent post to publish. I’m very frustrated.
Slow
by ald7988 on 2019/09/17 05:13
This app is terrible. I’d much rather use the website through safari on my phone! When it did allow me to write, which was rare, it barely let me post any. It would just be loading for days
Stop Breaking the App
by MarineOC0321 on 2019/09/15 20:18
The last couple of updates have only made the App even worse. It fails to auto save, it crashes when you try to add images to blogs, and trying to save a draft causes it to lock up and close, losing everything you’ve typed to that point. It’s extremely frustrating and I’m rethinking my decision to renew my paid site through your platform.

by Viperscho on 2019/09/12 12:47
Used this app infrequently for blog updates and it always worked fine. As of two weeks ago, it stopped working. When opened, the app briefly displays, then crashes to desktop on my iPad. No amount of updating, reinstallation, or patience while waiting for a fix has worked. Will have to begin using a different product to access my Wordpress site.

This app is so nice and makes your life much easier. You can easily track your stats from the app. It had a bug that was displaying the date and time inaccurately. Now it has been fixed and everything is great. Thank you so much.
Worse and worse
by MouseRoad on 2019/09/06 14:14
Each update makes it *more* buggy, not less (or at best just swaps out old bugs for new). The editor get less friendly and less versatile (just as with the web-based editor), the app won’t update stats automatically, and if I come back to the stats the next day, it stays stuck on yesterday’s stats and won’t switch to today’s even if I shut down the app entirely. Update: Contacted by dev team. If I contact them _DIRECTLY_, they can help me fix it. Why don’t they fix it for everyone?
About Wordpress

I’m old and Computer-TechIlliterate! Wordpress is such a great and easy tool to use-from the start I was able to set up and post my first blog! You give me a lot of options like sharing with click of one button to all social networks though I’m only on FB-gotta get familiar and signed up for Twitter, Instagram, etc. Till then and until I’m able to pay you’re nominal fee-you don’t penalize me! I KNOW people are reading all I write thus the pledge to write a monthly update here on out cause it’s kinda’ in a nice way “demanded” and I need this push sometimes! I’m not sure about other services like yours but-I would NOT switch! This Old Timer sticks to what he knows and-I’ve recommended Wordpress to others with my seal of approval. I’m an Amateur writer, I need services that are five-star but easy to use. Y’all are the Greatest! Sincerely, Phil

Ver. 13.1 stats not showing for the current day
by dk94402 on 2019/08/27 13:59
I updated my iPhone and iPad to 13.1 (had to completely reinstall the app on my iPhone a few days ago when an earlier version 13.0? was released...). It is about 6:50 AM on August 27th. The Stats display still only shows stats up through 8/26 on the iOS app for both iPhone and iPad. If I use a web browser on a laptop and visit my site stats, I can see stats correctly up through 8/27, but not in the iOD version. I tried to open a chat session with you on my laptop to inform you of this, but it wasn’t connecting to anything, so, sorry, but I had to use this route for feedback. Hope you see this report!!! P.S. - My time zone is set correctly to Los Angeles in both the iOS and web versions. The latest iOS version history mentioned changes to the time zone setting, so I think this change was not thoroughly tested. PLEASE MOVE SLOWLY AND DO NOT BREAK THINGS!! Facebook’s software development philosophy is total crap!
Perfect for blogging on the go, but...
by ThatDamnHoney on 2018/10/24 23:45
Being that I tend to work on my iPad and not a laptop like most bloggers I know of, having this app really makes it easy for me to do just that. I do have a couple of suggestions. While I realise not everything that can be done on the browser can be possible on an app, I’m still suggesting: 1) Please integrate Gutenberg into the app. It’s been a bit messy going back and forth from browser to app without the integration. 2) Please integrate a way to adjust the uploaded photo size. Not just the display size but the actual image size. Sometimes, it can only be downloaded into one giant resolution that isn’t necessary for the size of blog content and it could help with storage and bandwidth issues. Thanks! Truly enjoy WordPress.
Lacking features from the full site
by Fawfulfan on 2019/01/18 17:14
I use this app for work because I'm frequently on the go and away from a computer, and for whatever reason accessing the site from iOS Safari makes it impossible to save anything into the body text form. While this app is a lifesaver and easy to use for the most part, I'm continually frustrated by how many features from the main site are missing. For instance, there doesn't seem to be any way to assign authorship to a blog post in the app, and nor does there seem to be any way to edit metadata in the media library. I can live with the fact that embedded social media cards and iframes don't display properly in the text form while writing, but it would be nice if posting a raw url in the app's text form automatically converted it into an html embed. Another problem with the app is that it seems to have caching issues. Tons of drafts that have already been published stay visible in drafts, and keep accumulating the longer I use the app without deleting it. I hope solutions to these things are in the pipeline.
Just another social media site
by Packerbacker_1977 on 2018/10/31 22:04
I’m making this brief (short memo, pun intended because it is a writing app) because if I had been asked to write a review 3 months ago I would have given it 3 stars. However, upon closing out and deleting my account over a week ago, now I’m receiving spam from one of their 3rd party partners or at least I hope it’s spam, otherwise, the alternative is Wordpress has a security breach and my data has been compromised. In case you are wondering, TrustPilot sent me an email to the email address in Wordpress’ possession thanking me for a recent purchase (good luck with the payment as the debit card used was prepaid and now has $0 value) and asking me to review Wordpress’ based on a ‘free’ gift they were mailing me. How could I receive a gift since I have deleted the account and if I hadn’t deleted the account why did it take 3 months before I was told of the free gift but if there an honest to god free gift, ever, then why is Wordpress partnering with a party just to solicit a response by offering a made up item. You can’t really trust any of these social media sites.
Erases progress, does not sync with desktop site, saves without prompting
by DNBoswell on 2019/06/16 02:54
I used this app yesterday to edit my blog. Later that evening I did more writing and a editing on my desktop as I have done reliably for years. I loaded the app today to pick up where I left off. Not only did this app NOT load the most recent version of this page as saved via my desktop and instead loaded only the page as last used on this app the previous day, but also immediately saved the page as this outdated version without prompting, thus erasing all progress made on my desktop the previous evening. When I looked up the page edit history to revert this app’s mistake, it loaded only the edit history up to the date and time when I first used this app. The desktop version was nowhere to be found. It did however show up in the edit history when I logged into the desktop again just now, proving that it did in fact save, so this error was entirely the fault of this app and thus rendering it entirely useless with no redeemable qualities whatsoever. Deleted.
Mediocre and continues getting worse
by Jlc09576 on 2019/04/01 14:23
I love Wordpress, I’ve been using it for my blog for years, but it’s one step forward and 5 steps back. Two complaints that need to be addressed: 1. Imbedded video. Unless I use the website I cannot embed videos in the post from the app. I used to be able to just drop the link into a text field and, viola!, the video would appear. Now, it just appears as the link, with no preview. And if I have to edit a post that has an embedded video from anything other than my computer browser, it reverts to just a link. 3. No clock coordination. I don’t know when scheduled posts are going to go live. I set the time (CST/CDT) and it either publishes early, not really a problem, or doesn’t publish at all. I like to have my posts to go live at specific times so that my regular readers know when to look. For example, if I schedule a post for 8am(CDT) on a specific day it might go live at 4am (CDT) that day or never. Come on people.
Better Blogging and Content Distribution
by Berevetti on 2018/09/29 15:06
Whomever writes your update diaries: Kudos to you! Been an avid user for close to two years. Increased functionality of phone app is much appreciated. Start blogging on iPad and resume edits on phone, synchronized same in browser. It's efficient, it's enjoyable and is effective. Keep up the good work, WordPress gang. One request: make it this easy to integrate Anchor, Podbean or some other podcasting app. I have a content host, but being able to post to WordPress from a podcast app or vis. versa would be awesome. Partner with one of those app crews if you need to, maybe. That's my suggestion for improving WordPress.
Could be better.
by savagegenius on 2018/01/17 01:00
I think that the app has gotten a lot cleaner in recent months, and there are some features present that previously weren’t unless you were on the desktop site. Despite that, I still am experiencing some issues with the app. My first and main issue is that it’s EXTREMELY difficult or impossible to manipulate the HTML in the iPad app. For instance, resizing photos with HTML does not work in-app. If I try to do so, then publish my post, all the formatting I did will disappear. My other problem is with text formatting. There is some bug (for lack of a better word) that occurs when using bold or italics. If I change my text to bold, then enter for a new paragraph and am still using bold, it will publish in such a way that all of the bold text is mashed together into one giant bold paragraph. There are also some huge bugs with ordered and unordered lists. Typically, the first item in my list will “jump” to the previous paragraph after I publish the post or save it as a draft. There seems to be no way to fix this, (either in HTML or Rich Text mode), unless I’m in the desktop site. Besides bugs, another feature that would be nice to have in the app is the ability to mosaic multiple photos like you can in the desktop site.
Discouraged

When I Thought I was getting a good deal it was all good. But I see now it’s a trick. I signed up for the premium service. Which I thought it said, they would build the website and I would have help with the building of it, I thought it said that it would be like having them sitting next to me. But that wasn’t the case what so ever. When I went to the support site (after I was emailed a link to get right back to my account) I had to login Every time. That alone was a great big pain in the rear. And everything I wanted to add while I tried to build it? Which I don’t know how to use this program. Everyone says it’s so easy to use has experience in building websites. I do not have any experience. And now when I login to my account it says to upgrade to premium? WTH?? I have receipts to prove that is what I paid for to begin with!! Disappointed Discouraged!

I just joined a couple of weeks ago. I’m new to blogging completely. I’m trying to set my site up the way I want to do it. But there are so many posts out there that it’s hard to decipher through them to see what I’m trying to find. I wish finding help with setting it up were easier and free. The site is a little hard to use to me in that for me all settings should be together. But you have to go to different places to edit different things, which in a sense I understand but it makes it confusing for newbies!! I’m sure over time I’ll get the hang of it and will figure out how to set up my site. Trying to figure out how to make page look better and what the different things are right now.
Does not work! Seriously...DOES NOT WORK!
by GaryWD on 2017/11/29 13:01
This is the classic “I wish I could give it a zero star rating”- I am sorry, but this thing has always been very buggy and never syncs properly. Finally, I was given advice from a tech support friend at another company who was familiar with this problem: he agreed the app is no good and told me that it was easier to just bookmark your web page on your phone and go directly to it. He was right— I put an icon on my home screen that I hit when I want to use/edit/check up on comments etc., and it works so much better than this dumb app which has only resulted in me wasting an hour or two of my life trying to get it to work properly. Don’t like to give negative reviews but my irritation level is too high to just delete it and forget it, so a parting shot before I delete it is warranted to keep future potential users from wasting time on it. You have been warned!
Keep Safari and App seperate
by Sengoku_us on 2019/07/01 04:20
Ver 12.6.1 review: Updated from 12.4.1 to this and regretted doing so. I preview the stats page from the earlier version. This one doesn’t look as good and also loads slower. I only use this app to view the stats page and nothing else. I do the rest in Safari. I’m thinking of just deleting this app and just stick with Safari on the iPad. Ver 12.5 review: Newest update now crashes opening opening. Tried removing and re-downloading the app, but it crashed just after signing in, and continues to quit back to the home screen after launching. Hopefully an update will be out pretty quickly to fix this issue (Rating one star in the meantime). Ver 12.4.1 Updated review: Spoke with Charlie, a happiness engineer, and although this is the direction the app is headed, I was provided with a workaround to let me keep the app installed and use Safari to create new blog posts. So updated my rating to 4 stars to reflect the help and support received. Original review below: I like to use the app to view wordpress stats and I like to use Safari to create and edit posts. However this latest update keeps directing me from Safari and into the app every time I try to create a new post, or edit an exisiting post. Please add an option to turn this “feature” off in the next update. Thank you

I enjoy the website. I just wish I had more freedom with the layout even though I am not good at coding. I also wish that placing pages within pages were made a little easier. Instead of grouping all blog post together for me that I had the option to choose which post goes under which menu item. I have the personal website which is nice for me for now but eventually I will upgrade to a business one. I also wish that the mobile app was updated to the same ability as the actual website. I cannot change the font color on the mobile app so when I update blogs it automatically changes my font color black even though on my laptop I have the font as pink.

I deleted two old "local" drafts from the app and the app also deleted the more recent published versions!! Gone! Several hours of unrecoverable work lost forever. Super unhappy. Update, Jan. 2018. This app also has issues synchronizing properly. I edit an existing draft at work on a browser, later open my iPad app at home, write more, then notice that my "at work" writings were missing and are now—unfortunately—overwritten and lost since the draft saved from the app. It seems the app assumes whatever version of a draft it has in still memory is current—BAD ASSUMPTION! Proper synchronization is major issue with this app. I'd recommend only editing from a browser and not using this app. I think I may just delete it off my iPad, it causes more headaches than it solves.
Terribly designed, poor features
by @Magnuson on 2018/09/28 17:07
Want to post a couple photos with a bit of text to your Wordpress blog? Well too bad, you can’t do that with the Wordpress app. Any photos taken with your phone and uploaded using the Wordpress app appear with an incorrect rotation. If you took your photo in portrait, the Wordpress app uploads it in landscape. Additionally, the Wordpress app makes it extraordinarily difficult to make images link to their media file so that when readers click the image it shows them the full size image. Instead, you have to navigate through countless screens and pop up menus in order to copy the media’s URL from the media page and then go all the way back into the blog post to edit the image. I do not know how someone at Wordpress thought this app was going to be useful to people. This app is useless.

At first I did not understand WordPress, I mainly posted from Go Daddy I think, but now since I am posting from WP I am learning more and how great WP is. People say it is expensive but I see that it offers a lot of potentials I am basically self taught. The plugin that I use would be the issue and I thought it was WordPress. I am a work in progress and I am still learning. I never really used WP that much because I was intimidated by it but I am getting better. I am still confused by Go Daddy. WordPress the function of each was explained but I know I will get even a better understanding of each role each play, but for now I think my recipes and blogging is coming along.
I wish it worked better!
by Bduepancwiene s on 2018/05/02 13:40
I love the idea of the Wordpress app, and this one has the potential to be so amazing. I love being able to draft posts, reply to comments and check my stats. The app tends to be unreliable most of the time though. I have to copy my work often and save to my iPhone Notes because so many times I have drafted a post, hit ‘update’ and I’ll get an error and lose EVERYTHING. A lot of times it won’t let you upload pictures. There is an error stating the max allowed for a photo is “zero KB” which is pretty frustrating. In today’s world, people like to do everything from their phones, but this app DEFINITELY does not replace the computer experience. It’s unfortunate. 😔
Should be zero stars
by Primiumpoop on 2017/12/09 18:17
This app has locked itself from functioning. It’s so buggy and broken that it’s asking me to log in (had some sort of error so needs me to confirm my password) except! Won’t let me press next to actually submit my password for verification. If I try to press cancel to log back in fully the app warns me “you’ll lose all your data on this device” what the hell Wordpress. I even tried updating my password to see if the app would fix itself. No lock I’m just going to have to use my browser. The developer has contacted me, but showed they have little understanding of the issue. I can not access the app at all (only says enter in your password and won’t let me press next at all) and yet the developer wants me to use the help and support feature within the app.
Wasted my money when I can’t do anything!
by Ryerye81 on 2019/08/19 01:09
Ok I’m fed up with this and I’ve been patient! When I’m on my web page to view as I just started building it, I get an Error message when I click on Menus saying”The operation couldn’t be completed. ( NSURLError Domain error -999.)So every time I log in and go to Dashboard in red it tells me “Please configure your Google Analytics settings so I click the link and license key shows up under Monster insights and general. I scroll down to google Authentication and tap the connect Monster Insights and I get 403. Error: disallowed _useragent. When I click learn more I get anotherError: The password you entered for the email address is incorrect. I’m very new to this so I’m not savvy so I would have given a better review if I could get some help and maybe make a web page😡👈🏻
User Interface
by Proph.Chaos on 2019/03/26 00:06
This is a problematic app if it isn’t user friendly. I’m trying to create subpages for categories of my blog but once the parent page is established, the subpages just copy whatever is in the parent page. This is unacceptable. Subcategories are the foundation of organization. Without them, every subtopic is lost in the sea of excess main topics. They shouldn’t be main topics. Please fix this. If not, there is no reason to stay with this app. Am I missing something? Are there simple tutorials clearing this up and I’m an idiot? Can someone who has mastered this app show me how it works? I just deleted an important page just to put a link in that erased the content and luckily I took a screenshot before losing it all to the cyber graveyard...
Drafts disappear without warning
by Uzique on 2017/12/22 13:31
Don’t ever write direct to your blog, at least on iPad. I’ve had two draft posts suddenly disappear as I was typing. That’s enough for me to want to never return. I don’t post frequently and had forgotten my last bad experience. Now I posted a short entry reminding myself about the problem. Both times I’d been writing for about 20 or 30 minutes. I know others have had the same issue and I learned that while searching for a fix. Be careful out there. AFTER I submitted the above review I received a response that I can’t use. Apple says “Automattic responded to your review of WordPress Automattic "Hi! So sorry to hear about the lost drafts. If you have a moment, please go to "Help & Support" in the app and tap on "Contact us" so we can note which editor you were using during the losses and any details that may help us locate the problem to fix it. BUT I can’t find Help & Support. According to the WP site it’s supposed to be a little ? question mark in the lower left corner but I don’t see that. If there is a Help & Support it would be better if it were findable. Very annoying app, at least on the iPad. Works great on a PC.
Great App!
by Snowflake83Designs on 2017/10/24 02:10
This app is extremely useful! I hadn’t thought about how easy it would be to use an app to blog. I had always thought I needed to type on the computer, thus never writing on my blog! Ha! With the app, I have written two posts. I love that I don’t have to keep sending myself pictures to add to my posts, I can just do that through the app! The only thing that is frustrating, is how many times it freezes. The good news is, it saves my posts without having to save it prior. It’s happened to me during both posts, just thankful it saved! Thank you for developing a great app!
Problems.
by Amyshore on 2019/10/09 02:30
I have had difficulty with this app.
Great app—having trouble with edit features
by Revelation2134 on 2017/12/07 12:08
The app is user friendly and convenient. The only issue I have run into is that some of the features such as add a Portfoilo post don’t show up on my phone. Likewise, a friend I referred to Wordpress has similar issues. We logged onto her site from our phones and each saw different My Site options. She has deleted and reloaded the latest version of the app several times. It’s not a show stopper, so we haven’t called support, but it would be nice if desktop and mobile features were more consistent across devices.
Wordpress Review
by spotlightofahighschooler on 2018/04/08 20:15
Hi! I’m a fairly new Wordpress user and I am absolutely in love with it! I am 14 and I have already had a fair amount of people view my posts off of a free plan on Wordpress. I love writing and Wordpress has allowed me to share that with everyone else, there is nothing you need to improve, any of my concerns are probably just things I have yet to discover. The only thing that could be I proved is the html section because unlike other sites, it makes you input all the coding and confusing information manually.
So Buggy
by Dani_EG on 2018/04/30 01:49
I've started writing to my blog exclusively on my computer, just because this app has gone so far down the drain. I can't add captions to photos and, despite selecting center alignment, they come out without alignment, which looks awful. It still messes up with lists, and headings often lose their formatting as well. If it weren't for wonderful 3rd party apps ending their support (Blogsy), I wouldn't even be using this. I'm on the search for a new third party app, because I don't trust Wordpress to ever come through on the iPad app. It's been years with this buggy mess, and it's gotten no better. I don't know how this app has above a 1 star rating. I can't imagine anyone using this app is updating their blogs with any sort of regularity, images, or formatting.
How is this app so highly rated?
by sarahhh63 on 2019/03/25 18:55
I love Wordpress but the iPhone app is trash. Trying to make a new post on it is rendered a chore. The tutorial pop-ups and messages telling me how to finish setting up my account are omnipresent every time I start a new post, no matter how many times I click through them they never go away. Clicking on them also seems to have the effect of making me no longer able to scroll down to work on my post when my phone is held vertically; I almost always have to turn my phone horizontally to complete a new post. It wasn’t like this when I first installed it, but a few updates later and now it’s in this sorry state, and I wait in vain hoping that each new update will fix it. Terrible.
Not user friendly
by Daniel Greene on 2018/05/27 01:43
It's so much easier to post to Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr. With this WordPress app, if I want to post a photo, I have to go into a whole other area of settings to make it a photo post format; then if I want to add tags, it's another field in the post settings. With the aforementioned apps, post formats are automatically done for you, and with Tumblr you pick a post format at the beginning. Easy! Same with tags for all three: hashtags do the trick. I would like to post to my WordPress big and then syndicate to my social media, but it's so tedious I usual don't bother with WordPress and just pay to social media the easy way. 🙁
About Wordpress
by Detrans Phil on 2019/09/05 19:38
I’m old and Computer-TechIlliterate!
Won’t Translate from Laptop to Cell Phone
by Kmecksteiner on 2019/05/01 07:02
On more than one occasion my work within a draft hasn’t been saved even though I saved it before closing. I just spent 3 hours writing within a draft on my laptop with a stellar WiFi connection, saved it multiple times before exiting, now I am without my laptop for a few days hoping to be able to work through the app and I don’t even see my three hours of work in the draft! Now I’m concerned it has all be lost as it has been before. This is extremely frustrating and really hurting my productivity. I am traveling and I can never get that time back! Very frustrating issue...
I love Wordpress
by Mimes1 on 2018/02/14 02:02
I’ve been blogging with Wordpress for years now: averaging 2 to 5 blogs a month. I love Year In Review summary with readers from different countries statistics. Easy to navigate. One complaint: I used to get mobile alerts for Likes. They disappeared. I only get email notifications now. Can’t figure how to change that back. UPDATE: I received an awesome unexpected response from the developer. However-the problem resolved somehow! Wordpress: 5 stars! I’m getting iPhone post alerts again.
What happened,an update and it becomes a struggle to write a blog post
by Ahstewie on 2018/05/24 03:08
It was so easy to write a blog post, could get a lengthy blog post written without an issue, the last update it is hit and miss, sometimes you can get a whole blog post written, other times it crashes. It forgets the setting for crash reports so it asks every time you restart the app even when you tell it to always send a report. One blog post it took me 12 restarts to get it written. Thankfully most of the work was in the drafts but it was exhausting and so easy to lose focus on what was being written. Thankfully what I blog is mostly inanity that for some reason people like to read. Used to be five stars but now it’s just a one star app.
Gets the job done but could be more mobile friendly
by The Marvelous Moose on 2018/01/07 15:11
I like what I have done with WordPress so far just some features are missing or difficult to use on a phone. I like to run my blog all from my phone so it would be nice to have full functionality. I also think it would be good to have a "are you sure?" When publishing. I've accidentally hit the button before on a incomplete post and had to go to all of my connections to remove. Overall I like it and will continue to use it.
Powerful blogging system
by SootyFootyPut on 2018/06/09 21:17
Wordpress has more of a learning curve than Blogger out of the gate, but they make it fun to learn. Their tutorials are written in a fun, playful way; other internet companies should take note. Blogging University sets you up for blogging success. The app makes it easy to keep-up with your blogs even those not on WordPress. You can update your blog from your phone through the app. The reader makes it easy to be part of a blogging community.
Okay, but could be better
by Smuckitelly on 2017/10/07 13:16
My biggest problem with the app is that I can't figure out the line-spacing. It seems to single space and then double space at will. I don't know how to change this. It would also be nice to format some standard headers. I've also had problems with a post just completely disappearing, which is very frustrating and discouraging. I do like many of the features and I've been hoping these issues I have can be fixed. Or maybe I don't understand it. If so, I hope somebody will help me especially with the line spacing.
Amazing platform
by Wldror on 2018/03/23 19:23
I’ve written blogs before but as a side thing nothing serious. Now that i decided to go full time and start a sole proprietor business, wordpress gives you everything you all the tools you need to use create a web page that you envision. The mobile app is extremely easy to use with all the important tabs and buttons you need to maintain and to allow u too check improved stats.
It works, but only barely...
by spdorsey on 2019/03/13 15:33
This app allows posts to my personal blog, but it is extremely difficult and often impossible to format them in a way that allows me to leave the post without needing to later log in on my laptop and fix it later. Images are upside-down, links don’t have thumbnails, tags are difficult to add, and many other details are awkwardly implemented or left out altogether making this app only barely capable of meeting my needs. I could never tell my Mom to post to our blog using this app. The results would be ugly, poorly formatted, and end up with hours of me supporting her. The app is unintuitive and poorly designed. They can do better.
Love this app
by Bubbly1639572538682 on 2018/08/19 00:18
I truly love this app, but PLEASE let there me an option that you can revert back to previous posts edits while it is saved. I had a post that I have now completely lost because it somehow saved wrong and I can’t undo on my progress. If there was a way to go back to previous edits than I could recover one of my posts. But I can’t, and I completely lost a post I worked very hard for. I know Google drive has a version of this and it’s really helpful Other than that, I do love this app.
Such an improvement over web interface for iPad
by Alexander Hendrickson on 2018/05/20 15:34
Love this app - works very well, and it’s super clean looking in its interface. Depending on how many plugins and things you have, the web interface can be almost entirely unusable on iPad. Using arrow keys to move around within text posts causes page to jump up and down unnecessarily. This solves all of that. ONE THING IT NEEDS - character count. Can’t imagine this would be a hard thing to incorporate, but surprised it doesn’t have it.
Good for stats, comments. Not formatting or editing.
by Mikezots on 2019/08/10 14:21
All the rich block formatting options aren’t here. Missing gallery options, verse, quote, drop cap, color... Worse, if you used them in a browser, their content is hidden or broken. Formatting is not always compatible with WP in the browser, either. If you go from the app to the browser, fine. Going the other way - browser to app - may not work, depending on block type. Headers, paragraphs and images work. Other things? Maybe not. Going back to the app from the browser? Fraught. It’s good for feedback, stats, reader, adding classes and keywords... anything but editing. Imagine that! An editor that can’t edit!
Good, but needs some updates
by boo bugling on 2018/12/26 19:34
Overall I have enjoyed using this app for a blog, and I think you guys did a very good job with this app, but I do think there are some issues. First of all, it’s extremely hard to like a post. On many apps it’s a simple double click, but for some reason on Wordpress I find myself taking 5 minutes to like something. In addition I think the layout for creating blog posts is a little complicated and it could be much easier. It would mean a lot of you guys could look at these problems, thanks.

Can’t upload photos!
by WildKnitter on 2019/12/14 12:41

Very frustrating user experience!
by C. Michele on 2019/12/12 23:21
This app is very unreliable and doesn’t allow me to upload changes to my drafts. It keeps saying my device is offline when it’s not or says that I’m still loading media after the images are fully loaded. It also makes the images appear dozens of times in my media library. I would not recommend this app to anyone, incredibly frustrating experience! No idea how this app rates so highly in the App Store.

They have several areas to go for help. If you need examples on how to maneuver through WP or set up your site, you can easily find it. Once you've learned the basics, you can find tons of other ways to enhance your pages. Some require a small cost and some don't. After searching several other top websites, this is why I chose WordPress.

Beneficial and Required.

One of my favorite apps for writing. I have been using Wordpress for years and they truly are the best.
Worked at one time. Not now.
by Cnjsmom2 on 2019/10/31 14:45
I had a site.
Useless
by RainySolace on 2019/10/29 06:57
I’ve had this app for months. And even after the most recent update, I’m still unable to access my pages. It just keeps searching to no end.
Too buggy
by Seriously tho on 2019/10/28 15:43
Could not get past log in screen to create a new account, it never sent the vertification email and kept asking me for a password BEFORE I could even set one up. Frustrating.
I do not trust this app to compose posts
by jchriscook on 2019/10/27 13:59
I spent a lot of time updating a post and when I hit “update” most of my content was replaced by “[UNDEFINED]” I basically had to start from scratch. Unbelievably disappointing.
Constantly crashes

Will not publish a post to my site nor will it let me edit the post. The app simply disappears...again and again!

Missing Verse

Love this app, but gets stuck a lot
by Macrophyllum on 2019/10/08 04:57
I use this app daily, it’s awesome to quickly see stats of my website. However, somewhere between iOS 13.1 and the most recent update, 9/10 times it just says, “Loading stats…” and the graph never appears. Other pages stats below the graph seem to update. I hope there is a fix for this soon! 🤞

by JimAbelsPhotography on 2019/10/06 15:47

The Blog Post In Block Editor
by UNroyalReneeKeke on 2019/10/05 15:53
I really like the block editor except when it comes to seeing a post on someones website and it looking janky when viewing sites on a phone. I find if the block editor only looks the way it should on a laptop/desktop and not phone (what people are mainly using these days) it seems useless to use the columns and a photo next to a heading.

by MikiDaShrew on 2019/10/05 02:12

by AntIAm17 on 2019/09/30 12:19

App Crashing
by Shae F. on 2019/09/29 05:48

by Cntrygirlz on 2019/09/28 04:17
I am having problems scheduling and posting posts.

Sept 11, 2019: Tried it again. Splash screen stays so long it’s like the app is hanging; trying to use Reader gifts only intermittent freezes and kill-the-app crashes; the editing is now so tap-happy just to get to a post — uninstalled, again. I’ll deal with the website. iPad Pro, first gen, latest OS. And no I won’t contact you. You’ve proven repeatedly → no point. April 5, 2018: Max size for featured image upload is 0kb. Late April Fools Day joke? Insanely incompetent. No. You don't need to talk. TEST the dang thing! April 9th: Surprise! Can't even use Reader. Crash City. Thought: testing is your friend, WordPress. April 3, 2018: Seriously, no testing phase? Preview invariably yields a 404 error. I've sent so much time flipping back and forth re the classic /wp-admin web interface, since this app bombs in multiple ways, that I now use wp-admin as my go to. So much for iPad mobility. Thank goodness for my ChromeBook. === Previous: Search bar no longer accessible on ipad b/c only the top tip appears. HTML edit gone AWOL. No way to access featured image ALT tag. The list of infirmities stretches for miles. No clue crew re mobile access. Sad. And I'm paying for this ongoing debacle. Fortunately, only a few months to go before the annual sub date materializes, allowing me to explore alternatives.

Makes blogging feel natural
by 46makun on 2019/09/03 03:34
I love this app because it makes it so easy to compose blog posts as soon as they come to mind. The layout is pretty simple and there are some things you can do in-browser that can’t be done in the mobile app, but I actually prefer it that way to keep it streamlined. Some bugs come up now and then, but the development I’ve seen on the WordPress platform over time (I’ve been using WP for 5+ years) always trends to the positive. This app meets my needs perfectly by adding a mobile supplement to the more intense admin on the site—it’s perfect for blogging on the fly.

Until then I’ll just fumble through this as best I can going back and forth between app and desktop because, frankly, the website isn’t exactly mobile friendly. But then, neither is the mobile app.

Loving it but struggling...

Thank you
Fashion Blogsite

I enjoy the website. I just wish I had more freedom with the layout even though I am not good at coding. I also wish that placing pages within pages were made a little easier. Instead of grouping all blog post together for me that I had the option to choose which post goes under which menu item. I have the personal website which is nice for me for now but eventually I will upgrade to a business one. I also wish that the mobile app was updated to the same ability as the actual website. I cannot change the font color on the mobile app so when I update blogs it automatically changes my font color black even though on my laptop I have the font as pink.

Be wary!
by BangSplat on 2018/01/12 07:18
I deleted two old "local" drafts from the app and the app also deleted the more recent published versions!!
Pretty good
by Raisinet on 2018/01/13 15:11
At first I did not understand WordPress, I mainly posted from Go Daddy I think, but now since I am posting from WP I am learning more and how great WP is.
