Adobe has continued to outdo themselves with their photo editing apps. Great editor for restoring old photos. They have different editing tools in their apps, when combined together, do an amazing restoration. I've been disappointed with other editors and found Adobe to the best for mobile devices! Thanks Adobe!!!

Awesome editor!
by CatWithCattitude on 2019/07/18 15:17
This is such a great photo editor! A lot of the photo editors you see everywhere involve subscriptions or payments but for this one you just need to sign in (I used my Google account) to use it. It is such fun and I really suggest it for anyone who is looking for an editor without ads or in app purchases (if there are in app purchases, I have not come across any yet). This editor doesn’t apply makeup like Facetune or other apps might, but there is an effect that smooths the skin. Personally, I don’t need makeup features so this app is perfect for me.
Amazing photo editing tool!

Great for all enthusiasts
by photosynthesislove on 2019/07/18 03:22
It’s pretty fantastic - I’m runnining it on N iPad Pro with raw files from a 5d mark III and it has no problems at all - I love the mirror effect but I wish it would allow for fuller frame or an option for a rectangular finish - either way it slays the other tablet and phone apps I’ve used in the past to be frank this is the first time I’ve been satisfied with the functionality and creative flexibility in any photo finishing app that I was able/willing to travel for 6 weeks with no computer - the save function “to camera roll” only was my number one complaint on the trip - ne ice to enjoy a batch function for us Lightroom lovers that just need a temp correction for a fbook post - would love to know if that is coming or already available in another app. Bravo any way - super functional easy to use easy to run on this iPad anyway - an imagine on the larger iPad Pro w the 6gb ram it would be starling fast - 3 Cheers =)
My Review
by SWM-2014 on 2019/07/18 03:20
Photoshop on my iPad does more than I need and does what I use. The only really annoying thing is that the image is display against some middle gray. So it's difficult to evaluate the quality of the images blacks. I haven't figured out how to configure the change. When posting to Facebook it creates a very fuzzy copy.
Free, intuitive PS filters
by PC Shelfmark on 2019/07/18 02:54
tl;dr Perfect for adding a lens flare and/or getting rid of a blemish. Nice filters and effects, 2GB storage, doesn't integrate with the other apps without an Adobe CC subscription. Pro: ✅ free, duh ✅ lots of filters, and new ones added frequently ✅ easy to use ✅ gives polish to mobile photos and communications ✅ lots of preset crops for popular social media, and different use cases e.g. post / headline / thumb (grain of salt on how often they're updated) ✅ nice selection of typefaces and borders, if that's your thing ✅ the collages are nice and easy to use, although you can't change photos once you start ✅ seamless sharing across platforms and devices; no lag on import or missing images like some options *cough* Google Photos *cough* Deltas: 🔺 I'm an old, and I learned on the desktop apps, YMMV. It's not a full Photoshop, though. 🔺 I haven't figured out how to write macros, and I admittedly haven't tried; it is somewhat customizable 🔺 You can only apply one filter at a time; obviously you can save the pic and go again, but it took me awhile to realize the default file size was 85%, so I was creating increasingly noisy images. 🔺 There's also not a PSD, and that's great for your device, but once you stop working on the photo, you can't get the edits back. Not the end of the world, but a little frustrating, mostly because I saved the poor quality images. Tbf, that's more delta me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 🔺 I just noticed that the filters in the collage menu are different from the ones in the photo menu. I think the color pop options may just have a different name and appearance, but it could be the images I am using. I was going to explore this when the review box popped up again. 🔺 I hate the subscription model. While there's free versions of Illustrator, Acrobat, a drawing app, etc, unless you are a Creative Cloud Subscriber of some sort, you can't edit a photo in PS, merge it with a vector in Illustrator, create a pdf or vector image. —> You can do quite a bit in each app, but you're either going to have to import them to an older version or an app by another company. —> There are of course $5/month subscription options to do this or that in each app. I personally dislike getting nickle-and-dimed into paying $60/year per app when it doesn't meet my needs. Again, YMMV. There's other apps that are a one-time purchase that work much better for me. I'm trying to do a quick edit, and I keep getting interrupted by a pop-up asking me to rate the app. The x moves, so minus a star right there. Tbf, there's not a bunch of advertising in the app, and Adobe is well rated for privacy by the Electronic Frontier Foundation. It's Photoshop, and it includes a ton of preset filters that are overall pretty easy to use. It also has preset crops for various social media channels, although who knows how often they're updated, so Caveat Emptor. I really like it for collages and mobile photo editing, and it's actually the least clumsy method of sharing photos between my ios and Android devices. I use it fairly often, and the most of the free Adobe apps. For vector editing and drawing, I think there's better options, and I haven't had any issues connecting to my desktop software. Sorry this is so long, hope it helps someone make a decision about the free app.
Easy to use and lots of tools.

As a professional photographer who uses the full software version of Photoshop, this mini version is a great on-the-go editing assistant. The number of filters are great and offer looks that enhance and add depth to your digital snaps. I like the corrective tool; It adds light to shadows, brightness to underexposed images and fixes common digital issues. You’re love it...I do!

Use it all of the time..
by Christine Jake and Logan on 2017/11/12 17:31
I shout a LOT of images with my phone..I think I am at 22 THOUSAND plus images and I will be backing them up here after I finish a few post production fixes..This app is GREAT for people who are “ok” with knowing going into it, that is is “Express” for a reason...Adobe products have been THE products professionals have been using for a long time..So much so that people see an image and say, “oh that image is definitely photoshopped” instead of “that image is definitely edited” ..It is synonymous with the word “edited” and that’s pretty cool if you ask me ?? Is this app the to the same same level and standard as the desktop version ? No, nor would I expect it to be..There are also other adobe products that professionals use and I can see how a pro would find this less than stellar but, it is meant to be used by the average user..This app is just fine for a mobile app that compared to others still offers certain features others do not..It allows a regular user to use the app without too much time learning how to get what they want, share it and that is what the average user is looking to do on a mobile app..If you are a pro, you WILL not likely find this to be what you are used to..As a person who want to do some edits and/or give their creative side a try, this is a GREAT start..Happy snapping! Oh I love how well the clarity and sharpen features work on this app..I would like to be able to add my © but, use a different app to add text..
Best editing app ever!!!!
by sammi celi c. on 2018/10/26 03:57
I love this app! It’s also free and I am so thankful for that because I don’t have that much money but I love taking photos it’s one of my hobbies. On this app u can add filters that look awesome. You can also add blur which makes the photo look great! This app is rlly easy to use and I rlly like it. Btw don’t like ever write reviews for apps but this app is the best and a must have for photographers or anyone rlly. I have pics that I don’t rlly like and want to delete but before I delete them I edit them in this app the I rlly like how it turns out and ❤️ the pick. I also recommend huji which is not rllya editing app but it’s a camera app, but I like ps express more. I high recommend this app fr yo. Get it lol. (Sry for any grammar mistakes I didn’t reread it cuz rn I want to edit more of my photos) Anyways trust me get this app u won’t regret it. When I tell someone and tell them to trust me on this I mean it and I know it’s true and they may not believe then but in the future they thank me so much. So u may not believe but just try and then maybe like spiritually thank me. P.S. your welcome for recommending it (ik that at least 94% of the people who read this comment will be so thankful, I did my calculations)
Is this the next Photobucket?
by 4knfast on 2017/11/15 17:15
Maybe the title has you scratching your head, but it’s what came to mind when I thought of the functionality that Adobe provides through Photoshop Express, Photo Fix, and Photo Mix — the thought that a poorly implemented monetization effort is not far behind. A backhanded compliment, to be sure, but I do have some genuinely positive things to say about Express. It has taken a lot of effort to become adroit at swapping among the three aforementioned apps, but in becoming so I have at my fingertips, literally, some very useful tools to improve, or simply create a different emphasis for, my pictures. I also have Adobe PS CS6 on my laptop, and I have to tell you that sometimes the quickest route to achieving my goal for a photo requires the use of all four applications. And that brings me back too my opening. The Adobe products are so scattered that they probably can’t persist in their current state amongst all the competition that is springing up, and to bring them together to remain competitive would be to cannibalize from PS CC. And PS CC is a ripoff. It’s closest competitor—that is getting closer every day—asks $20 to BUY their product. So, just as it appears Photobucket has signed it’s own death warrant with their pathetic monetization by hostage-taking, I fear Adobe could be heading in the same direction with its photo editing products. And they really have been The standard bearer.
Honestly

Easily a 5 Star app if not for adobe’s constant angling for more money and more user data, updates that reduce functionality and unexpectedly lock you out of the app just so they can demand your email address in order to track and market to you. They already had the market cornered and had one of the most loyal customer bases of an software company that they’ve built up since the earliest days of Macintosh computers. They are ubiquitous in the desktop publishing industry world wide with zero competitors in sight (at least once quark dodo’ed out). Now that they’ve introduced their monthly leasing structure for their flagship products they are not only destroying what they’ve built up until now but more importantly they’ve stopped cultivating younger generations of loyal users who will choose other photo editing software packages that have a relatively minimal one price tag. No ones going to stop using photoshop who’s used it for years but students and other new users will be using other more affordable options. Basically I rant to say that adobe decided to bleed the goose that laid the golden egg for bigger quarterly gains. Suckers ruining a good thing. But this app for the iOS is on point and tight, if you know what your doing and not just interested in pre-fab filters there’s an impressive amount of photo editing options here. Get it together before that golden egg laying goose flys the coop.
A mixed bag...

There are some things I really like about the app, and some things I really dislike. Positives: I really like the ability to create custom looks. This is a huge time saver... pull up a photo, apply your own personal style, and the photo is ready to save. I also like the adjustment tools as a whole. They are intuitive, easy to use, and cover my needs for post processing. Negatives: I hate the social part of the app. Every time I start the app, someone’s hoot pops up and I need to exit this to get to my photos. For social feeds, I use Instagram and I shouldn’t be force fed social media just to modify my pictures. This is a more recent update... you didn’t get that splash screen in the past. Ideally we should be able to disable this in settings. The other negative is the app can be slow or crash at times. This has happened for well over a year, and I originally thought it was my old iPhone. Nope... same issues when I got my iPhone X at the end of last year. It will freeze on a photo and take a couple of minutes to make one adjustment. This doesn’t happen in other photo processing apps I’ve used, just this one. Overall, it’s still the app I use most often for ease of use... I just wish the social splash could be turned off, and that the stability would improve... and I’d give it a 5.
Undeserving of the photoshop name

With affinity photo and other zillions of this type of app out there, this is kind of an embarrassment. To each their own, and not knocking anyone for liking it, but as a professional, this app - and their others - are not what you’d expect from adobe if you’ve relied on them for desktop software in the past. I can see plenty of instagrammers and selfie takers loving this, and that’s great - it’s nice to go beyond what apple stock apps and Instagram filters have to offer. 👍 However - Their scatterings of iOS apps meant to ‘add up’ to a pseudo-desktop ‘suite’ of features and offerings is exactly that - scattered. And highly frustrating because of it. There should be a much more robust amalgam of these apps for the iPad. Which the competition has already completed, so one must assume that adobe was and is always going to consider their iOS apps as lightweight apps for your phone only. Too bad, really. I appreciate adobe sketch, and I know that some of these apps have some perks and are designed fairly well, so it’s not like incompetence, it’s a plain and metered decision by adobe. With their pricey subscription model on desktop, and this ‘strategy’ for iOS, I can’t see them being top dog for much longer. Affinity and others may swallow them up while they remain somewhat oblivious and/or too profit-minded to survive this mobile/new-school editing software revolution.
Has been my go-to for years now

I have used the free photoshop express app on several generations of iPhones. Before Apple had editing right there in your iPhone photos. But honestly, even since the Apple editing has been included I still prefer using this Photoshop app. I’m no professional by any means so I have no idea how to articulate what it is that’s better lol but. I feel it’s extremely user friendly and has great options and features/tools to use in the free version (I’ve never even considered the premium). And... if you have used any other photo editing apps then you KNOW what I mean about the apps just suddenly kicking you out. Seriously aggravating when they just suddenly shut down and close the app thereby losing your edits and whatnot. I have never had that issue with this photoshop express. There are no advertisements either like some apps have. Previously, I would have said that I wish it had a couple other features so that I didn’t have to go to another second or third app to doodle on the pics or add a text overlay etc. but it appears as if they have added these things now! So, before I start sounding like a paid advertisement lol I digress.
Best app for amateurs and professionals while on their phone
by Gregknowles22 on 2019/05/08 03:59
I started using Adobe Photoshop in 1992 while in College to become a photojournalist. I remember still the awe I felt going to Mrs. V’s class. What incredible things would I see today? I try to hold on to those feelings in a world now full of altered images. It’s exciting, yet sad, that we seem to have lost ourselves in the realm of the surreal. I believe this app is incredible. There is no competition for handheld devices. Constantly improving while keeping its roots steady. At this point, I use the remove flaws tool as I used the original clone tool with great precision. If you’re at all confused or frightened by all the options photoshop has to offer, my advice to you is the words Mrs. V once told me...Just play. If I could give you any advice for improvement, I’d say look to the filters on instagram. I still prefer their options to any others offered here. And the effects offered by Carbon are brilliant! I’d add a Leica effect for selective focus and unique background pixilation and a hasselblad effect for a medium format look. That’s all. And if I could have my old clone tool with the choice of brushes...I’d be in Heaven. Thank you!
Must have for everyone of all ages and with beginner to advanced knowledge of photo “editing”
by K.C Morgan on 2018/12/19 17:55
It’s everything you can expect from Adobe! The favorite , to me anyway, is the collages variety! It’s not just squares beside each other, you got everything you can imagine including cool shapes like triangles or circles with as many photos as you can want( I don’t know that for sure , but so far I have used a collage with 12 photos and it looked awesome! The shapes also are aligned in many ways to make a huge impact and you can also size them each individually. It literally almost limitless what you can accomplish with these bold and exciting new look of collages! You can also add text with many options of the best fonts and can input them with “templates “ that are basically awesome quotes that you see on Pinterest or Facebook except you can edit the words, font, and color even the alignment ! Highly recommend !!!! I used it to sell things on offer up , eBay, or any site because it enables you to put everything on the first photo along with the price or info in a eye catching design that entices buyers to click to view your item(s)!!!
Always the standard
by gdongusgold on 2019/05/01 08:13
Sure, I’ll get excited about a new app with a unique feature or one with the standard offerings packaged differently enough to qualify as a novelty or disguise itself as a convenience - but they always fail to perform for long (usually get sluggish or think annoying commercials are what I deserve for using the product) and my excitement gives way to rational thought, and rational thinking is the antidote to impulse buying. But I win because while I may be out a couple dollars I learned something and I end up where I was doing well and knew the team on the other side of the app represent the gold standard in their industry. The only less than stellar features I’ve found were in the collage mode where resizing is not as simple as I’d like. Turns out it’s easier to delete the cell or whole collage than it is to edit it or find the help menu in a hurry. Every other feature and function is top notch and you can count on the Adobe team to keep it running smoothly.
CRASHES RANDOMLY & FREEZES
by MarvelouslyMe on 2018/07/30 16:26
i’ve used this App for several years now and even purchased the premium package as i love taking pictures and often have issues with the lighting. Was happy until recently. i use it on my iPhone X and didn’t have any initial issues. The past few months noticed the App freezing and crashing. Took note but shrugged and moved on until the past 3 weeks where it has started so frequently that when i go to save a pic i’ve edited i have the one eye squint while praying that it doesn’t pick this time to crash. Which it then of course does. Now i can only edit about 2-3 pictures without expecting a crash or for it to freeze. its bad enough if you use the App directly you don’t have the option of overwriting the original picture so then you have doubles of everything but this is a huge time waster and has me searching for another App out of sheer frustration. And good luck trying to contact customer support for help. They want you to research on the forum.. REALLY? Nothing else going on in my life and sleeping is overrated right? So now i should make time to do my own tech support for your product that i pay for the privilege of using..? Yeah i’m over it. Only received 2 stars because of the potential 2 pics i might be able to successfully edit before it crashes.
Bug with Recent updates (~2mo's ago)
by Bwa236 on 2019/04/09 05:21
I held off writing a review because I hoped Adobe would fix this problem. I enjoy this app very much and it's a robust, useful, full-featured app. BUT....accessing it via the Photos app (e.g., by clicking Edit and using PS Express to edit the photo in the Photos app interface) has become buggy all of a sudden. More than 75% of the time I edit a pic this way, when I go to save it the screen will go black and the little "working" animation will twirl around and around. And it never saves the changes. INFURIATING. Often I will close the Photos app, reopen it and try to edit it again only for the same result. Sometimes a third time is the charm and it will save the photo edits. Opening the PS Express app before doing this doesn't change the outcome. I prefer being able to quickly edit it via the Photos app as the workflow is easier than loading manually in PS Express directly (when I have many to go through). This only started about 2 months ago. I have iPhone 8, 256GB, latest iOS updates. Please please fix this, it's been a bug for long enough. Contact me if you'd like me to video record this happening or for help recreating the issue. Thanks!
My go-to app for quick edits
by Korubisutaa on 2017/12/11 20:13
I love all of the Adobe CC suite apps but this one probably gets the most day to day use. Unlike other editing apps, I've never had a crash and lost work, it is extremely stable, and doesn't lag when applying changes... Unlike some other apps that are badly optimized as far as ram usage. I like that you can make and save your own filters, in other apps I can achieve the same look I want but if I want to apply it to multiple images it's a pain in the neck of remembering the order of settings and their intensity. With PS Express that hassle is no more. It's so versatile too, I can use it to crop and adjust before importing (easily, I might add) into another image editing app, but I can ALSO do the reverse and use PS Express for the finishing touches. It all depends on the task at hand and what I want to achieve. I'd give it five stars if it had layers, though importing into Mix, among others, gives me that option so it's only a minor annoyance as some images could be done fully in Express if it gave the option for layers. But it's a really amazing app nonetheless and I highly recommend it.
I use PS more often than I thought I would
by jbiancalana on 2017/11/19 20:09
I am a hobby photographer, so had a hard time justifying the monthly subscription fee. However, I use the whole suite of Adobe photo manipulation tools more often than I thought I would. In addition, my photography also has significantly improved not just because of post editing, but because I am more thoughtful about what I can do post-editing. For example, I would often take tight photos and shoot jpegs only because I did not take the time to edit my photos. Since I know I will process my photos after a shoot, I don’t take super tight shots because I know I can do a far better job cropping with software than through a viewfinder. Also, I am almost never frustrated from overcropping when taking the photo anymore. I also always shoot raw giving me the additional flexibility to adjust exposure settings if I didn’t get it right the first time. Finally, I am far more selective about what photos I keep since editing is a little time consuming.
Excellent App; Two Suggestions...
by JustaRottenGirl on 2018/01/28 19:13
This will make your photos freaking sparkle! A sweet and free photo editing app that offers a lovely and helpful arrangement of filters, effects, and tools for your general and extra photo needs. It has a sleek design and I genuinely enjoy using it. It made my regular old photos pop within a few seconds- it looked like I’d taken professional photos- pretty impressive! I even edit HD wallpapers to my taste- super sweet. However, there are 2 suggestions I’d make: 1. The ability to save while you’re editing, I.e. ‘save progress’ instead of just saving once at the end. Sometimes I get stopped in the middle of editing to take another photo or just because I have to leave the app. 2. Allow users to apply more than one design effect per save. It’s laid out so that the editing process goes in order from filters/design effects, to cropping, lighting/color/clarity/contrast adjustments, to red eye etc. So you can’t apply more than one design effect per process- ex. If I wanted to add the design effect of ‘soft’ AND ‘spring’ I’d have to edit the first time with one, save it, and edit the new photo again to apply the second design effect- which is a tad annoying because often times I’d like to layer my effects. I usually just edit the new saved photo to curbside this feature. Overall an excellent introduction into photo editing apps- this is making me consider investing in more editing apps. I’m highly pleased with this :) solid 4/5!!
Better!

Update 2: Kudos to the developers who actually read these comments and care about user experience. The recent update allows for solid color backgrounds for collages however, this doesn’t completely fix the issue because of a few issues. 1. The color pallets for borders and backgrounds are different. 2. The color sliders for the CMYK and RGB are difficult to get a specific number on and 3. Even if you pick the same color, which is easiest to do using the themes, there is still a hairline border between the edge of the border and the edge of the background. I miss when I could just add radius to the border and not have to mess with the background. Update 1:This app was recently updated but the issue with collages remains. When you apply a radius borders the app creates a white layer that makes your border look terrible. There isn’t a solid fill option to fill the White later just patterns and gradients. The new update is a step backwards. The collage maker is not completely functional because you can't get rid of edges with out Mix. The text editor is woefully under powered compared to Fontcandy.
Needed a photo editor that did more than just add filters
by AmandaWaseskuk on 2019/01/06 15:49
This photo editor works great! And so far it is completely free, I have not run into anything that says “premium only” or anything like that. I had access to everything on the app. All you have to do is sign in via Facebook or Google and then you just get to work editing your photos. I had a picture that I took at Christmas that had some red eye, blemishes, and the sun light made a very weird line across my forehead in the picture. I was able to fix all of these things as well as add a great filter, which was hard to choose because they have so many! And it gives you the option to add a little bit of each one instead of just messing with how much of one filter like most ones do. You are completely creatively free in how you choose to edit your photos. I’m glad I downloaded this and will probably use it to fix up most of not all of my photos in the future!
All Functions Continuously Frozen
by Ironsidefan on 2019/03/19 06:44
I installed this app on my iPhone XS Max around four weeks back. It had a different design user interface that all made sense, and worked. I initially installed it to use its photo mirror reverse feature, but afterward began discovering what all else it was capable of. Several weeks passed which during I was notified and installed an update from the developer. At the end of that period I needed to utilize the mirror reverse feature again, and discovered the changes to the layout of the user interface. From that point until now nothing works. It is all frozen except for a function labeled “Collage”. I notified the developer, and they replied requesting screen captures of what was showing, as well as clarification of the situation. They replied three times altogether, but since have gone “silent”. I told them in my first message that if nothing changed after a week, that I would be permanently deleting their app as in its current state it is nothing more than completely useless when all of its icon controls remain in effect as an “oil painting”. As I have not received any further communication from them tonight I followed through, and permanently deleted their app.

This app is absolutely stunning! From allowing you to rotate and transform horizontal axis views ect. from the new update, to color blocking, lighting, and every possible filter and feature in between it is a high recommendation to both beginners and pros alike. I've used this app for about 4 years now and never once had it failed me. To think, I started off as a beginner finding random things to photograph and awkwardly squatting in the supermarket aisle so "the bottles hit the lights just right" to now having my hobby as a career! The biggest shocker is all I have ever used for my photography is a simple iPhone 6 camera.. My pro secret is any camera is the perfect camera with the right editor. The only thing I would like to recommend is layering, like having one filter on and being able to add another ontop of it. But until then, I'll manage by just saving one filter edit to my phone and simply re-editing it.
My staple
by Hhxfjmcdh on 2018/12/12 01:57
I’ve been using these Photoshop Expresses for years. I’ve been through 4 progressively newer models of iPads, about to get my 5th, & Photoshop Express has always been my staple. I like to draw & dink around and I mess with photos a lot. I have more than a dozen different photo editors, collage makers, and artsy apps. But still, none have come even close to what Express can do. Enlight is good but not close. The best thing about The Adobe Expresses is that they constantly update and add new features and mini apps to go along with the others. I’ve been thinking for a few weeks now that I wish they had better filters to work pictures that’s available while in Express Fix. Low & behold what do I find as I opened the app, a page showing off all the new filters available. Now I gotta go look at the other new stuff. Wow its almost like Christmas! Oh wait, timings off. 🎄Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays. Now go get Express.
Great for all enthusiasts

Awesome even for Amateur
by Mc12062011 on 2018/10/25 15:38
Unfortunately I don’t know much about photography, and I’m also a beginner artist. I needed to edit a photo for both clarity and color of a cat. I’m working with colored pencils which is especially challenging. This app has so many options! Even as an amateur, I was able to play around with the options to make my photo easier to use as my reference. I still have a lot to learn on taking photos that show detailed fur, but this app really gave me something I could work with. My cat is an orange tabby and I was able to get colors that closer matched her actual tint. I was also able to save it to my photo roll so I have both original (although this app does state that original is never lost) and the edited version. It will accomplish more than I will ever comprehend so I think both experienced and novices will find this app very helpful.
Pretty good
by iTif on 2019/06/25 19:28
Update: my beef still lies with the watermark. If you frame your pic in any fashion, There is a solid chance watermark is not going to end up where you want it. If only way to change it is to leave your photo, go into settings, put it where you think is a good placement, and try the whole process again. Would be great if you could take care of this when going to save the photo (which is when the watermark is added). I’ve been using this app for at least 3 years I would say. I love the addition of the watermark, but would REALLY love it if you could adjust placement once it’s been framed. The black highlight over a white frame just clutters up the image. Changing the watermark color would help, but still not as clean as a white watermark over the image. It would also be great if the user could move the image within the frame (if framing image), as opposed to the current workflow (unframe it, recrop, reframe, hope the image sits where you want it, repeat).
Glitchy
by MezzoMH on 2018/08/16 05:11
I love Photoshop, but recently it’s really glitchy when I am making collages. It stretches the picture when I try to save it to my camera roll, and any text becomes very distorted. I’ve been having to screenshot my collages and crop them from my camera roll. It’s also really glitchy when trying to add text to the collages. It keeps randomly switching the text/themes. It will also randomly undo things I’ve done, and it’s hard to get it back to the way I want it. It sometimes even freezes, and I can’t do anything with it and have to close the app, then go back in to start over. If I could find another app that makes edits as nice as Photoshop, I’d definitely use it instead. It’s just become so frustrating... It takes me at least three times as long to do a collage, just working around the glitches. I haven’t run into any issues while just editing photos, but there are definitely some problems with the collage portion of the app that need to be worked out.
Applicable for entry level to more advanced users
by GreenBayGirl on 2018/12/22 20:03
The thing to note is that this is an “express” version of the well-known Photoshop program by Adobe. As an app that is not intrusive on my phone and does not demand high monthly subscription fees, I absolutely LOVE this app! I use it on my iPad Pro, but I also have more advanced editing apps there. I also have this on my iPhone 7 Plus and Note 8 and enjoy using it on all platforms. It is wonderful that a person without any knowledge of what a ‘layer’ is can easily navigate their photo edits. For those who are more advanced, you can still save edits as layers and export to other versions of Photoshop. I appreciate the versatility of this aspect allowing non experts to still take advantage of Adobe’s more basic uses while not preventing a pro from getting a quick start on edits on their phone or tablet. Thanks for this!!!

Lots of really nice photo editing and collage features -for free! I’m not a photographer or into photography at all but I enjoy fixing up the images if I’m going to print them. Once you tinker around with a few pics and see what each tool does to correct/enhance the photo it becomes a breeze to use. I’m using it for the first time and found it user friendly and intuitive. The only criticism I’d give it is that when you undo an action it doesn’t tell you which action you’ve undone. For someone like me who doesn’t know what each feature does on regular photoshop on a desktop, it’d be nice to know each time what I’m “undoing”. Even without that feature, there are a lot of useful tools to enhance your phone pictures without making them look too filtered or overdone i.e. noise and color reduction, shadows, red eye and blemish correction, etc.
Powerful handheld editor

With a few more additions, this could be a one-stop-shop, all-in-one editor. Here’s what I love. The algorithms do wonders with Highlights, Shadows, Blacks, Whites. Saving your own ‘looks’ is a great feature for adding the same effects to multiple photos taken in the same lighting and scene conditions. Here’s my wishlist for further improvements: - Transferring ‘looks’ that have been created and saved on one device to my other devices, or to friends, or to your adobe online community. I created a magical ‘look’ on my iPhone that I cannot seem to recreate on my partner’s iPhone or my iPad. - Allow ‘looks’ that have already been created to be edited, or at least allowing to see what settings/recipe concocted that ‘look’ would be fantastic as well. - Mid-tones slide control. White, Blacks, Highlights, Shadows,...and Mids. - Vignetting with controls would be a nice basic feature that is currently missing. The current vignetting preset is too strong and cannot be adjusted. - Selective Color saturation editing. For example, to knock down a bit of saturation or slightly tweak hue of greens or yellows in the photo, but keep the blues or reds, etc. as-is. - Whites glow control for adding ethereal effects. - Edge sharpen as an addition to general sharpen. Cheers!
I wish we could do more.

Thanks for responding. I’m sorry if I took too long to answer the email, but I emailed the photos. The first photo is the original, and the second one is the edited photo. Thank You so much! Original Review: When I first opened the app, I thought “What a fake app. It doesn’t even look real.”. Those first assumptions were wrong. I pulled up an image of the solar system. I wanted to change the image completely into something else. I have and always wanted to photoshop something, so I was ready for excitement. By the time I finished, the solar system was a fireball. Yet, I was still disappointed. I expected to be able to make it look like I was there, in the solar system. Everything I did on this app, I could do easily and quicker on InShot. If I could give this app 2 1/2 stars, I would. Isn’t Photoshop supposed to be editing yourself into it. I want to put myself in the photo badly, and I bet other people do too. I’ve seen people Photoshop people into Paris or Jupiter. It’s an amazing skill I wish this app could do. I will keep this app because it is semi useful, but I will wait for my request for an update. To be fair, adjusting Contrast and fixing mess-ups is Technically photoshop. Please respond back. I am hoping you can find a way to let people express themselves by photoshopping their self into places.
Nice to have but not the best

PS for mobile devices should be combined with at least LR so bouncing between files isn’t a hassle and so there should still be an option to edit raw files within PS. Also, if it doesn’t now, I feel that PS should be able to sync with PS CC 2019 so further edits could be made. Overall though I feel PS for the iPad should be more in depth. Even the base model 2018 iPad could handle some tasks. Let’s make it happen. Make me want to invest I’m am iPad Pro for artistic purposes and be able to use the devices as such. Right now everything still solely relies on a MacBook and or laptop. Which is fine because it’s been that way, but for myself and for somebody who never gets stuck in the same type of office space, it would be nice if the iPad had more flexibility so it could be a more prosumer device compared to what it is now. Anyway, still love Adobe mobile apps, just hope to see them shine through as time progresses.
First 3 hours - First project
by Gagethan on 2018/07/20 18:21
I am very impressed with the capability of this application. It offers the widest range of tools of any editing app I’ve seen on the market, and allows for multiple add-on applications that help to expand that tool belt and all for free. I would suggest that with all of the apps available together you could accomplish any goal in editing without needing to look at any other software. As well, they have made it easy to jump between these applications while working on the same project. This must be the closest thing to having my full editing bay I am used to condensed into a simple to use, one stop, medium right at my finger tips. After searching for any competing application that would allow me to dissect existing files and work on a project with layers, I was close to caving in and trying a paid app that I do not feel would have been worth the purchase. This was an invaluable download. I would highly recommend to anyone interested in editing or photo touch ups. My only suggestion would be to steer away from the ease of access style HUD which lists filters and correction wizards most immediately, and move to something more heavily concentrated on the tools professionals will be looking for. All in all, it was easy to navigate to these features.. it was just a little tedious.
Simple, decent features
by anaspis on 2019/04/29 18:06
I’ve only just started using the app and I have a paid CC subscription, so my opinion is skewed in that manner. But I really like the app! It doesn’t have the same functionality as desktop Photoshop, but then again, I didn’t expect it to. It makes photo editing simple, whether you’re trying to improve the coloring/detail of your photo, cover some blemishes, or literally stifle your image with a filter. Quick and easy. My only complaint is the beta camera affects choices are, uh, lacking. Not in variety—in quality. If you try the app you’ll understand. It’s not a major complaint, especially because the feature is in beta and I probably won’t use it. But for people who really like vintage effects on their photos, this app will not (realistically) create that for you.
Thank you and don’t remove ability to edit in photos app with app

I recently was frustrated beyond belief because you did an “update “ of the app that meant one could no longer be on a photo in your photos library and use photoshop express to edit. I voiced my severe frustration with this change as it means as a photographer who has several thousand images editing using the app only in their app means it’s impossible to use the app to edit as no one wants to navigate through several thousand images to edit your specific file . You changed it back so after investigating other apps to use for photo editing my Favourite is back and will be my go to. Please don’t make this change again it is of no use to anyone. Thank you for changing it back !!!5 stars
Destroyed

Welp. Now I have to find a new editor. I never understand why companies think it’s a GOOD IDEA to take away features. This app used to be amazing and it auto adjust images perfectly. Well they took that feature away and left only the magic wand. So now, either I get way too much effect or it barely does anything to make the image look better. I’m frustrated and angry about this. Frankly I didn’t have time to go shop for another photo editor to use on my mobile but now I have to stop everything I’m working on because they took that away in the middle of me editing a month’s worth of photos. To keep the consistency, it also destroyed what work I had already done. Thank you adobe for being the absolute biggest pain in my side this holiday season. So to sum up: If you were looking for a photo editing app that works fantastically well with quick and easy edits you best look somewhere else. This app will no longer help you unless you want to sit and tweak dozens of sliders for hours on end. That’s the main reason I never use Snapseed!!
The best minimalist app on the app store!
by average review on 2018/03/26 00:03
They say that this app was created for those who need to “edit photos on the fly” and, with that in mind, they include what I can only assume are the most requested/used “photo editing” tools for the filter-obsessed, selfie-addicted, instagramillennial generation. I guess making a fresh-poppin app that’s both hip and dope at the same time turned out to be vastly more profitable than the old business model, developing versatile, and useful mobile photo-editing tools. Unfortunately, those who find such tools useful are vastly outnumbered by the throngs of people who only need a quick way to make their lives look less average than they really are. So, for what it is, I guess it works good. Of course, they did set the bar pretty low. It’s easy to make an awesome app if you remove all of the complex functionality. But, sure, four stars. It’s not like they actually say this is a useful app for photo editing professionals. It is what it is. By the way, if anyone knows of a good mobile app that offer the same set of tools that PS Touch used to have, please let me know. I was one of the fifteen poor slobs who actually used the thing and it’s obvious that Adobe is really only interested in money at this point so, I don’t see them bringing it back any time in the near future.
Mandatory login is trash

Support responses are along the lines of “Dear User we require more inputs.” Nobody from Adobe (who understands English) reads these or cares what we think, or has cared in years — a fact they made abundantly clear when they moved to the Creative Cloud pricing structure. They did far worse than alienate me as a user of this worthless free app, they lost me as a 20 year Photoshop customer: I’m at 6.0 and will never update to CC. Be assured that your words to/about Adobe fall on deaf ears, when they run out of money and die it will be the most deserved tech business failure death spiral in recorded history. You know why this app has a 4.8 rating? Because it resets for the current version to give devs a chance to fix their stuff and not be dinged for bad reviews on old buggy versions. Adobe just keeps pushing through fake and useless “updates” so they boost their rating after too many of us complain about being forced to log in. If they gave you a dumb reply be sure to re submit your review when they “update” it.
Great app!
by La Super Gravitania on 2017/10/27 21:43
I had been using photoshop for years, so I decided to give their app a try, and It has been my go to app to work my photos for years now. It has all the basic tools to enhance a good photo. It doesn’t do miracles! If your photo isn’t good. It might be hard to fix it. I don’t use the filters that much because I like “normal” looking photos, and their filters alter the image to much, but some people like that, so I guess is ok. He are a few things I would change: 1 vignette - I would add it to the tools section like other apps do and add a slider to it to change the intensity of it. 2 frame - besides being able to crop it, it would be nice to be able to fit it in the screen or give it a margine like other apps like InstaSize do. That is really helpful. Specially because it gives the image a white background. 3 touch screen - I also use an app called paint effects because It allows me to change only parts of the photograph without altering the entire image. They do good use of the touchscreen. It is like the mouse for the computer. You select the tool you want and drag your finger over the screen to apply it to an area. It is genius and super simple to use. This is a great app. I really recommend it.
Love all the different options
by 00Chelle00 on 2018/05/19 19:16
I love this app! I take so many pictures it’s ridiculous... over 25,000 on my phone and I’m out of memory now! Lol I had the desktop version of this app before my computer messed up and I used it all the time.... it was amazing! I’m by far no expert on editing photos... I need all the help I can get actually! I really like how you can bounce from one app to the other and back again to do further editing that this app doesn’t provide. The only problem is when I do this, after I finish editing my photo and try to come back my photo isn’t coming back with the edits. There’s a problem somewhere in the transfer from one app to the other! I hope this is soon fixed because when it does work it’s pretty awesome!
New way to get into the app is garbage
by chocolate thunder with a lil lightning on 2018/09/17 17:16
I have loved this app for YEARS. I updated it the other day and now instead of just using it I had to sign in with an Adobe ID or Facebook. I don’t have Facebook so creating a new account was a minor inconvenience. You want my data. I get it no problem. The problem I have is not being able to use the app on the fly like I could before. I could take a photo and edit it with this app without having to create a new photo. This HAS become a big inconvenience. Now instead of being able to edit the photos with this app inside of photos app, I have to open it up PS Express and then bring in the photo. It takes more time and now I have two photos instead of being able to just edit the original. This is time consuming when you are at an event and want to post a great photo on Twitter or Instagram. The app still produces great work but this new functionality bites. Please change it back.
No longer able to use without an email address
by Naja12168 on 2019/02/13 20:46
I have used this app for a couple of years now, and it’s relatively easy to use. I enjoy the features provided in it, as I use it for basic things like color altering and cropping. I went to go to use it just now, however, it won’t let me access the features without registering my Facebook or Gmail email, or without getting an Adobe ID. I never needed anything before. Now, you must register in some way in order to use the features? That seems unfair to me. I don’t need another company sending me email. I don’t need another company tracking my movements or trying to sell me stuff, which is the main reason why businesses request email addresses. It’s a shame, because I truly enjoyed this app. I wish I could continue to access the features like before. I was able to use it just fine two days ago.
Lost of free features!
by 5myth on 2019/02/22 19:54
This is by far the best photo editor if I base this on quality. It doesn’t have a lot of wacky things you can add to you photos like others but the quality and crispness of the applied effects are stunning. No quality loss at all. If you have photos installed on your pc you can connect your account and use the pro tools. The pro tools are really good effects and are ways you can distort and modify your image. it’s not as accurate and lacks a lot of features the desktop version has but if you know how to edit and are looking for effects this is a good one to have to refine your images. You do have to have a subscription to unlock pro effects but I’m still giving 5 stars because the quality is so amazing.
Not Watered Down Photoshop
by PeterAsolomon on 2019/04/26 12:06
The application is an extension and portability of the work flow to places of convenience. This app can be a very powerful Tablet/Phone editor but it’s more. It has some built in features which make up for the lack of pencil enabled screens and the precision this brings to sutler changes. That you can use a feature sets that require the Photoshop Engine in which to como, este, and attach to it remote, brings the two products together giving the remarkable rendering power of your GPU, to the new abilities of the tablet touch. There are also some great effects, filtres and even color pop options reducing time of workflow. This is well with the investment, especially if you own the full version of photoshop. It does command respect independently on its own.
No more Photos shortcut
by moimoiak on 2019/01/10 21:25
I used to edit all my photos in PS Express. In a recent update, the option to use PS Express from the Edit screen in Photos was eliminated. Now instead there’s a shortcut you can add to import into PSE from the Share menu. NBD if you’re editing a single photo, but it’s an extra step that’s a bit of a headache if you’re working with more than that. I find I use PSE a lot less now unless I know I’m only going to work with one photo. The most recent update also turned on a PhotoShop watermark that doesn’t show up until after you’ve saved/exported a photo. I didn’t notice it until after I’d already posted it on a work-related IG account. Then I had to go looking for the option to turn it off. That’s not the kind of feature you should be springing on people with no warning. Now I’m wondering what other surprises I can expect with the next update.
Great app, but raw support for newer cameras is lacking
by Sengoku_us on 2018/12/05 00:09
Overall this is a great app. Could do with support for nested folders in the photos app. Also support to import/edit files via the iPad’s ‘File’ app would be great! Ver 7.0 Fuji X100F firmware 2.11 raw files are supported! yay. After updating, “My looks” have been erased. Very annoying. Needs to be a way to export them and import them in cases like this Ver 6.10 Fuji X100F firmware 2.11 raw files currently not supported! Have submitted feedback and a raw file. Has been two app updates since feedback was submitted. Ver 6.6.1 Fuji X100F firmware 2.10 raw files now supported! yay! 5 stars!! It takes a few updates once Adobe has been notified, but they get there in the end. Ver 6.5.2 Fuji X100F raw files still not working. I contacted Adobe about it on ver 6.4. I’m a little upset it has taken so long. Ver 6.4 Fuji X100F firmware version 2.10 raw files do not work (and just after Adobe updated the app to work with firmware 2.00) Ver 6.2.2 Still no RAW support for the X100F, I’m dropping my rating by one star. Especially after I was informed this request would be passed on to the developers. Ver 6.2.1 Especially with Fuji cameras. X100F has been out since Feb 2017, and it is now Jan 2018 and the X100F raw files are not yet supported.
For basic editing photoshop express is my go to app.
by rich_blondes on 2017/12/05 18:29
I really like the smoothed out look I can get in portraits without pixels or noise effecting my end results. Now I t is almost a a three because except for the wonderful basic editor the rest of the filters , including the premium. It’s kind of sad that a company that is known for advanced powerful software looks like they let kids make their premium filters. Pop art filters would be more useful, and I do like the color recognized in the collage section. I can get three pics together that I love, and the color that is dominant is picked up in the other photos making cohesive and looks nice. It would be a great feature for anyone obsessed with a theme, or a color so their feed looks matchy matchy. I just post if something is interesting, but it’s awesome for the themesters
5 Stars for mobile usefulness
by Florida Keys House Wife LLC on 2018/07/30 15:43
Photoshop Express comes with my subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud and I’m seriously in love with it. I have more than 50,000 images loaded on Lightroom and use the gallery share CONSTANTLY for my growing business in photographing people, real estate, industrial, auto and events like 4th July Parades and weddings, races and poker runs! Yes!!! PE is fabulous. I work it from both the creative cloud side as well as the Photoshop Mix angle. If I need something in PExpress it’s super high quality makes it usable for most delivery (client) needs. It can handle my 40 to 80 megapixels image needs. Love it. Such a handle Professional tool in a mobile useful way. I’d love to be able to import three different logos into a file and have them available to superimpose without leaving PE:)
The ONLY photo editing App I use!

This is my go-to App when it comes to sharing and editing ANY & ALL my photos! I've been using it for several years now & Honestly don't think I'd ever come across a more simpler App to use to edit my photos.. nor one that does/has All the Amazing Features & results as Photoshop Express!! Thanks Adobe for making the best photo editing software in the world! I've my degree in Photography & I'll be back to using Photoshop & Lightroom on my Desktop as soon as I am able to afford to replace my DSLR CAMERA that was lost in a fire, asking with everything else I'd owned. But after 7 years, I'm FINALLY almost able to start saving to replace my camera!! I love Adobe & Photoshop Express is perfect while using my iPhone to take my photos.😊🙇‍♀️🙏🏼📷🙏🏼🙇‍♀️😇
Please Fix Text Sizing
by Jipsy Zoom on 2018/05/24 06:49
Hi, I am a busy Mom who is working as a Photographer. I use this app all the time to edit photos on the fly. I have WiFi on my Canon DSLR and it’s so easy to get the photos into my phone and edit using this app. I barely log on to my desktop anymore. Thank you for updating the app so that we can now add multiple texts! It’s so much better. I’m disappointed that you didn’t make sizing the text easier. I wish there was a toggle bar where we can just swipe left to right to get the text size just right. It is cumbersome to use fingers to do this. I’ll spend more time than I want to get my text aligned and the right size. It’s also hard to get text aligned vertically. There must be a way to make this more seamless. It would also be great if we can bring text to the back of the photo. Instead of always being on top or in front. Someone mentioned adding a watermark. I agree, there should be an option right on the app to add a watermark. I searched under help in the app but it only showed me how to add it in Lightroom. Additionally, I find myself going back and forth between PSX, PS Fix and PS Mix a lot to get the photos just the way I want. If you can integrate the features of Fix and Mix into this app it would be the best!
iPhone Xs Max Upgrade?
by ALTA Images on 2018/10/11 03:58
I’m a professional photographer based in Miami and this has been my go-to app for quick, on the fly editing since the app first came out. I recently upgraded to the iPhone Xs Max and it seems as though the PS app isn’t configured properly for this phone because buttons on top and bottom are very hard to use. Especially the top ones which are practically hidden/cut off near the top of the screen. Is there an update coming out anytime soon to address this issue? There is also some feedback on the editing tools that I’d like to provide to help make the app better and more useful. Where can I chime in on these things in hopes of it getting to the developers? Any info on my concerns would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Phenomenal, but...
by Fardwark on 2019/05/25 22:52
Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of indications that Adobe has let an ignorant executive loose on the administration of this app. The functionality, as always, is superb, but several aspects seem...poised for monetization. That is making the experience feel slimier. To begin, there is now a stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid splash screen that I must eliminate in each of my ‘big 3’ Adobe Apps. These advertise other Adobe products I already have. Quit preaching to the choir, you poltroons. You’re just getting in the way of what makes these apps great. Would you make unskippable tutorials that played each time an app was opened? Then why do this? How many times a day does your average user open your apps? How many times are we annoyed by the SAME message each time? It isn’t even as though you’ve changed the message for ages. Someone got an order to add that, but did anyone ask whether it worked? Also, I recently needed to delete/reinstall this app and now little blue stars inform me that features I’ve been using for years are ‘free for now’. Build all the new apps you want. Charge whatever you want for them. Stop supporting the old apps. That is a normal, customary, sensible practice. But don’t try to reach into my existing apps and tell me I’ll have to start paying for them. Because I won’t.

They have different editing tools in their apps, when combined together, do an amazing restoration. I've been disappointed with other editors and found Adobe to the best for mobile devices!

The number of filters are great and offer looks that enhance and add depth to your digital snaps. by Christine Jake and Logan on 2017/11/12 17:31
I shout a LOT of images with my phone..I think I am at 22 THOUSAND plus images and I will be backing them up here after I finish a few post production fixes..This app is GREAT for people who are “ok” with knowing going into it, that is is “Express” for a reason...Adobe products have been THE products professionals have been using for a long time..So much so that people see an image and say, “oh that image is definitely photoshopped” instead of “that image is definitely edited” ..It is synonymous with the word “edited” and that’s pretty cool if you ask me ??
Honestly
by Tintek on 2018/10/21 18:55
Easily a 5 Star app if not for adobe’s constant angling for more money and more user data, updates that reduce functionality and unexpectedly lock you out of the app just so they can demand your email address in order to track and market to you.
A mixed bag...
by GGTriGeek on 2018/11/15 00:19
There are some things I really like about the app, and some things I really dislike.
Undeserving of the photoshop name
by storeE8 on 2017/10/14 15:15
With affinity photo and other zillions of this type of app out there, this is kind of an embarrassment.
Has been my go-to for years now
by Critic#928004562 on 2017/10/11 17:55
I have used the free photoshop express app on several generations of iPhones.
Thanks!

Great for all enthusiasts
by photosynthesislove on 2019/07/18 03:22
It’s pretty fantastic - I’m runnining it on N iPad Pro with raw files from a 5d mark III and it has no problems at all - I love the mirror effect but I wish it would allow for fuller frame or an option for a rectangular finish - either way it slays the other tablet and phone apps I’ve used in the past to be frank this is the first time I’ve been satisfied with the functionality and creative flexibility in any photo finishing app that I was able/willing to travel for 6 weeks with no computer - the save function “to camera roll” only was my number one complaint on the trip - ne ice to enjoy a batch function for us Lightroom lovers that just need a temp correction for a fbook post - would love to know if that is coming or already available in another app. Bravo any way - super functional easy to use easy to run on this iPad anyway - an imagine on the larger iPad Pro w the 6gb ram it would be starling fast - 3 Cheers =)

Powerful handheld editor
by Bobaque on 2017/11/23 18:30
With a few more additions, this could be a one-stop-shop, all-in-one editor.

Thank you and don’t remove ability to edit in photos app with app
by nearlycanadian on 2018/09/24 05:16
I recently was frustrated beyond belief because you did an “update “ of the app that meant one could no longer be on a photo in your photos library and use photoshop express to edit.
Destroyed
by Zero7starz on 2018/12/16 18:17

The ONLY photo editing App I use!
by SoulStarShine on 2018/03/14 09:23
This is my go-to App when it comes to sharing and editing ANY & ALL my photos!
