Can't edit roster
by Wmceach on 2015/06/02 13:19
Have never been able to edit roster on ipad....except for brief period yesterday when pencil icon next to player names in roster appeared then just as suddenly disappeared. This occurred on both my and my spouse's iPads! Very strange.
Awesome
by Bad Austin on 2015/05/31 23:11
Great app new features are awesome, still wish they would give injury updates
Improve SmackTalk
by Owlcityfreak on 2015/05/31 21:12
Really love this app and the ability to chat with people but the app is buggy and crashes ever so often. Please fix
Meh.
by BUlysses on 2015/05/30 04:46
I hate to knock them because I do like using yahoo fantasy but the app is so limited. I really wish they had some of the features of espn, specifically push notifications of add drop transactions or watch list activity.
Fantasy Baseball
by Zachsaintpierre on 2015/05/30 03:13
It shows on my team that josh Hamilton is in the utility spot on my roster then I switch to matchup and view it and see josh Hamilton is on the bench and tonight he had 2HR 3RBIS and 2R so it doesn't even get to count to my score but the app shows him playing on my starting roster until I go to matchup. This really bothers me that it would say one thing and then do another this will be the last time I sign up for a yahoo fantasy league unless this changes
This version is very buggy
by aaldrich on 2015/05/29 12:30
Player updates and stats don't load half the time. Have to kill the app a few times to get it working again. Crashes randomly as well.
Impressive
by Ya boy ocho on 2015/05/22 19:30
Compared to this app on my s5, the featured for apple products are far superior. Nice job
Landscape only is awful
by Ramstoria on 2015/05/22 07:09
Very frustrating that the ipad is forced into landscape mode. I'd rather use the website. Ridiculous not to offer a portrait mode.
Good app, needs better notifications
by Biscuit317 on 2015/05/21 12:51
The app works great. I can adjust my team, sign free agents, make trades, etc. The major issue is that it needs better notifications. I'd like to see if they can add notifications that say this player isn't playing today or that he's been injured. Other fantasy apps I've used use these features. I would come in handy especially with a longer season as with baseball.
Go away Yahoo
by PRock44 on 2015/05/21 11:58
Thanks for acting like it was no big deal when your football drafts crashed last year...flippant attitude backfires every time. Hello ESPN fantasy football...I never knew how good fantasy sports could be fumbling around with Yahoo...ESPN, thank you
Football already??
by Louis Brown Jr on 2015/05/21 04:21
Its the May!!! Youve opened up football leagues already?? Too soon, man!
a lot better than laptop version
by Michiganking on 2015/05/20 17:21
can find everything much easier within app than an actual laptop. very organized and very easy to use
The best
by Pan W on 2015/05/20 16:31
This is the best sports app on the planet!!!
App barely works
by Jfagan85 on 2015/05/18 13:26
I constantly receive an error saying it can't connect to the server when on lte. Never refreshes on wifi. Not sure what happened because it used to always work.
Too slow
by Kac1101 on 2015/05/18 12:22
The app is clunky, per usual, and a lot of useful information is impossible to retrieve (e.g., schedule, that day's pitching match-up, etc.). It is also much too slow, and it simply won't load player news or transaction buttons many times.
Good app
by Bassguy2012 on 2015/05/18 03:43
It's a good app. I just wish there were more commissioner settings available.
Old version was better and easier to use
by Ashoke C on 2015/05/18 00:36
Still not on par with desktop. Lots of features missing.
Awesome
by Dogman Prime on 2015/05/17 21:48
Love this App
Roster doesn't load.
by s.l.a.v.e.69 on 2015/05/17 03:30
For some reason my rosters won't load up.. I keep getting an error message. The only way I can see my team is through the match ups. Other than that... Last years version was better.
Doesn't work
by Giladyjay on 2015/05/16 15:08
This app is so horrible. I can't see my team or anything. It tries to load and doesn't. Horrible horrible
Yahoo fantasy app
by Verbaxitty on 2015/05/15 21:51
Good app. Maybe the most user friendly out there . Up there with espn
Meh
by Blanks421 on 2015/05/15 14:07
App seems to work sometimes, other times it just loads spinning the wheel like it's trying to load but never does.
Improved interface, solid!
by Songfta on 2015/05/15 03:51
This app complements the web version of Yahoo Fantasy leagues very well. The interface is intuitive, the app is stable and solid. Also integrates well with the Yahoo Sports app - a nice bonus.
Issue swapping players on DL
by Moak2141 on 2015/05/15 00:01
I go to swap a DL SS with a player on DL scheduled to come off. And says over max roster size. FIX THIS NOW!
Best football app ever
by Casino 504 on 2015/05/14 17:49
# 1 app better than the rest
Not very Commish Friendly
by Steelman1549 on 2015/05/13 01:03
The app serves the purpose but is not very commish friendly. It would be much easier if you could access all of the Commish settings from this app rather than having to log into a home PC to make a schedule change or change a waiver date..etc.. A mobile app is supposed to let do things on the go! This app makes u have to find a pc to really keep up with the action!
Great
by Chubbs0381 on 2015/05/12 00:24
Great
Love it!!
by Bmwe46nyc on 2015/05/11 16:38
Easy and nice
How do I give negative starts?
by RobDel11 on 2015/05/10 14:14
Too many issues not updating stats. If you are in a daily league and moves matter DO NOT USE YAHOO.
A nice effort
by whut_the on 2015/05/09 16:23
Good way to tie all the fantasy apps together. Readability could use improving, but lots to like here.

Can't get much better

Still no college football pick 'em? 0 stars
by pnanninga on 2015/05/06 04:06
How is it 2015 and worthless yahoo still doesn't offer an app for college football picks. We've been asking for it for 8 years. Time to fire the incompetent morons who can't figure out how to offer college football picks in a timely fashion.
I'd recommend it
by Maddogmattmct on 2015/05/06 01:54
Solid platform, good updates and changes.
This app blows.
by Joehartswagg on 2015/05/05 23:02
This app constantly signs me out, whereas my fantasy football app keeps me signed in forever. This is very confusing because I can exit the app for thirty seconds and have to sign back in, you don't even have to do that in banking apps! Also I'm not very impressed with the limit of control you have because you're not an ESPN insider. I switched to yahoo for my second league because of this. This app blows.
Amazing but could be better
by Wordfreak25 on 2015/05/04 19:21
Wish it had all the features of the website. For example, I see the daily stats as they are happening but don't see the change in rankings until next day. This would earn the app a 5 star. Otherwise, the app is amazing.
Just a bad app all around
by Aaron J. Friedman on 2015/05/04 03:23
Hard to navigate and so much worse than ESPN's app
Great option
by Pittsburgh_daddy on 2015/05/03 17:23
Excellent tool is you forgot to change your roster...
Not good
by Abcd9873 on 2015/05/02 20:20
My line ups keep getting change after I set them!!!!! How does work well all these years and then doesn't?
Great app
by M20015 on 2015/05/02 14:29
Handy to use
Not impressed.
by dustyel on 2015/05/02 14:14
Needs "research" features and "transaction trends". Player notes only work about 1/2 the time which renders it useless for me.
You got more work to do
by NjbDollabillz on 2015/05/02 03:26
Too limited compared to the website
Good app
by soldieraow on 2015/05/01 23:06
This is a good app if you like to play fantasy sports
Keeps me playin'
by ValSalas on 2015/05/01 22:13
I really like to use this app so I can control my fantasy team and make changes. I don't have a lot of time to be looking on the computer so it's nice to be able to access it on my phone. It's super easy to use too.
Issues
by Axbz on 2015/05/01 22:08
This app serves its purpose but my biggest issues are that the app crashes and that the individual stat layouts are not the same as when you are on the computer. When you are on a computer and you click on a player's notes you see a game log but on the app it tells you what he did for the week in total and last year, it's very annoying. If the app had game logs on a player's notes I would use the app more often and would make it more efficient for me to use for my fantasy teams.
Doesn't load stats anymore
by thegraffix on 2015/05/01 03:33
Used to work great until the last update, can't get player updates or stats to load. Not the only person with this problem.
Needs work
by HouseofStu on 2015/05/01 03:31
I'd give this a 5 if it finally somehow integrated start tracker into the app. How are we STILL not there yet with this app?!?
Love it
by Dioncole on 2015/04/30 23:40
Just needs a watch list.
Pick'em
by STLSCOTT on 2015/04/30 23:28
Why is the League Pick'em missing from the app? Leagues use this to encourage people to get their lineups in for a side game in the league. Please add it.
Fantasy Sports - Baseball
by intek299 on 2015/04/30 21:49
If there were a way to show innings pitched, this app would be even better than it is!
What did you do?
by PatrickRFlavin on 2015/04/29 06:59
This app used to work very well two years ago, now however, there is something wrong. None of my league's messages show up, it is constantly loading or reloading, and it seems to completely forgotten my watched players. These issues make the app almost useless except as an emergency back up to the website.
Needs a patch
by Fraaapt on 2015/04/28 15:07
I love the app if it would work properly. Stats and player notes hardly ever load properly. Would rate it a 4-5 star otherwise.
Won't load player stats
by Hate espn apps now on 2015/04/27 19:02
Constantly lagging. Won't load owner info or player stats with 4 bars and/or perfect wi-fi. Typical half-assssed stuff from yahoo.
IT'S BACK!!!
by S D M F on 2015/04/25 23:53
THANK YOU FOR THE GREAT APP!
No push notifications for iPhone6+?
by Ciscoiv on 2015/04/25 22:26
The option is there in the app but won't show up in iOS's notification settings. So I don't get push notifications even though inside the app it says it's "on."
Love It
by Danlegab on 2015/04/25 00:22
Great way to follow the game and put MLB Mgr and GM hat on. I mostly enjoy competing against my family and friends.
Was good
by Williamkm2 on 2015/04/24 14:37
Seems slow and errors out since the 4/20 update.
It's Yahoo, It's Meh
by gcc10 on 2015/04/24 06:44
It's not that great for fantasy baseball, the app could do a better job of providing daily stats for each player like they do for laptops. Also, it constantly messes up and doesn't let me see players' profiles, forcing me to delete the app and get it again. Quite annoying, yet you could do worse
Good enough to get the job done
by Mcfourputt on 2015/04/22 02:32
Wish it was fully functional like the full website version, but it's good enough.
Excited!!!
by JaYnOrMaS on 2015/04/21 20:53
Bought an apple watch for this sole reason, can't wait for the season to start! Please allow mock drafts for the watch!!!

User friendly and clean. No complaints.
Can't add/drop easily
by Walrusmt on 2015/04/21 00:33
I've had this app for a month now and still can't figure out how to manage my players. App is pretty useless for baseball. Tournament pickem was ok
Handy little app.

Love it
Yahoo sports fantasy baseball
by LoveHisWord on 2015/04/20 12:01
I use it on my iPad, and finding all of the stats and team pages is sometimes difficult.
Terrible Fantasy App
by Thecove on 2015/04/19 20:26
The only reason I use this app is because our league has been on Yahoo! for more than a decade. The UI is completely unintuitive and unfriendly for fantasy players. On occasion, lineup changes are not saved and that is an absolute sin for a fantasy app. The previous iteration of this app from 2-3 years ago was somehow light years ahead of the current version. If not for my league, this app would have been deleted off of my phone long ago.
Great app - somewhat limited vs. WAP version
by choco310 on 2015/04/19 18:31
I love the simplistic user experience and overall functionality. Wish you could see players stats per day for the last ten days and not just last week avg. or last two week avg.
Fantasy first
by PleiadesPete on 2015/04/19 15:01
My first time playing fantasy baseball. Yahoo! Is an outstanding provider. Love it. Easy navigation. I'm sold
Fantasy Baseball. App
by Billy1Iron on 2015/04/19 13:20
Pretty good, but navigating between options is sometimes less than intuitive. Maybe a little more documentation would help.
Not Intuitive. Bad Design
by repentantsoul on 2015/04/19 12:23
This app is not user-friendly. I work in IT support and can generally make my way around apps alright, but nothing about this one is smooth. The design is terrible. The black background makes it difficult to read. Probable pitchers for the day are indicated by a tiny ^ by their game time (how is someone supposed to know that?!). And generally speaking it just makes me want to avoid opening the app because it's not easy to use. I will say it doesn't crash and when you do realize where you're going in it it moves ok technically speaking. But I dread managing my team via this app. I have another team in another league with a much easier-to-use app interface. One more note...I went to leave this review and the "Write a Review" link the app pulls up didn't actually work. Now that's ironic...
Great!!!
by ccriss477 on 2015/04/19 04:38
This app is very nice!!!!
Terrible
by mustang51688 on 2015/04/19 04:06
Confusing interface. Hard to find what you are looking for
Limited
by Mrrags on 2015/04/19 04:00
Unfortunately, the app is limited in what it can do. I use it for baseball. For one, it's very limited in any kind of instructions. I have wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to do things. Not good! I still don't know how to pre-set draft rankings. I don't even know if it can be done. I asked the other members of my league and none of them knew either.
Good for fantasy
by Afhog on 2015/04/19 03:43

Terrible
by KKMARINO on 2015/04/18 23:31
Hard to read. Hard to use. Layout. Have to use my ESPN App to Make Roster Decisions. Worst Fantasy Game I have used in 15 years for all sports. Garbage. Will be a one and done with Yahoo.
Good App!
by Joebobaon on 2015/04/18 21:07
Useful if you are in a Yahoo league!
Great, but some annoying flaws
by Swingin' Siena on 2015/04/18 19:59
This app makes Yahoo's fantasy baseball all the fun. Best version yet.
Fun
by HBCA Dad on 2015/04/18 19:45
Easy to use and almost better than the online version!!!
Nice, streamlined experience
by cgigley on 2015/04/18 17:15
Once you get used to this app, it's a breeze to use.
Constructive commentary
by Wilkwonsev on 2015/04/18 16:58
Would be nice to have a live game day stat page where all games/players that are taking place that day are easily accessible and you keep track of what's going... Also a weekly drop down option in the players card where you can see what teams you're player is playing on a week by week
Hard to find
by Broke Ex-Hobbit on 2015/04/18 15:29
It's not very user friendly. You'll need to spend time searching for things I'd expect to be more accessible.
Baseball app
by JF Devildog on 2015/04/18 14:56
This app is hard to follow. And player info is not helpful!
Great App
by Cboy01376 on 2015/04/18 14:38
Love this app. I'd love to see push notifications and features that are online. Such as draft report cards or weekly performance grades. Or like where you compare your players to free agents that would be great
Useless
by Horribly Frustrating on 2015/04/18 14:18
Nearly impossible to adjust your roster and forget about seeing trends. Don't waste your time/space.
Keeps baseball fun and exciting.
by ConaninTN on 2015/04/18 11:18
Love the ease of roster changes and player addition.
Solid app
by D-nice416 on 2015/04/18 06:06
Could use better filtering for adding players but nice for live scoring updates and quick team management.
Great Fantasy Baseball app
by Jshadows89 on 2015/04/18 05:12
Great app to play and keep track of fantasy baseball! My only suggestion would be to improve notifications AND it would be nice to have a widget in the drop down screen.
Solid. I like the additions
by Playa yeah on 2015/04/18 05:08
Everything works pretty good. No complaints. Give me more add ons. I'd like to see it with nearly everything the website has.

Fantasy Baseball
by Gma12ggma17 on 2015/04/18 03:55
First time I've had a fantasy team. Joined cuz it's a family league. Got lucky and doing fine so far, but I don't understand the scoring. Or how to activate a player or how to start a trade. Is there any help area
Not acceptable
by Chadburk on 2015/04/18 03:23
I love the game but Yahoo has done a poor job with this app. There is so much functionality missing as compared to the website which leaves the user question why they downloaded it in the first place.
App is alright
by Ctymeson on 2015/04/18 02:54
Good features on the app but the color scheme and layout leave more to be desired. ESPN has a lot more sortable players by stats and Yahoo doesn't allow you to sort by team (that I've found).
Dark dark dark
by sinrich on 2015/04/18 02:37
I like the free part. Question: Would it be so hard to offer different colors for the typeface and background?
Very good. Could be better.
by RQjr on 2015/04/18 02:25
Functionally this app is fine but it could use some improvements. The layout could be better. The color scheme could be improved. And you can't do all the things you can on the web site but all in all the app is solid.
Can't even load the darn app
by ramenstein on 2011/10/15 19:44
U would think they would test the app before release I have iPad 2 and it won't even load I thought to wait hut week one is long gone and with week 2 around the corner you would think an update would have been released to at least fix the crashing issue but someone in their office is lagging hard... Maybe next year I'll move my fantasy leagues to other websites that have better support. Also why take functions out on a update?! That doesn't make sense even on opposite day. Wake up yahoo and give the users what they want and stop listening to whoever is make the calls on your end please... I been a long time user and this update was almost a slap in the face UPDATE: so I just got the update and strike 2!!!!! how can u release an update when you can't even load it ? I'm so annoyed right now... Just pathetic Update 2: this has to be a joke right are we getting punk'd or something there has been 2 updates since my last review and both were supposed to fix the problem of crashing on startup however still can't load the app it's come to the point where you are so mad that u can't help but laugh at the situation .... Ppl need to be fired for this sorry excuse of an app what's the point in fixing it anymore by the time yahoo gets it right well be 3/4 into the season. This is honestly my last year playing yahoo and they should be ashamed of them self that it's come to this. Take care of your users or your claim of being #1 won't last much longer!
Better than ESPN in most ways. Worse than ESPN in others
by CaptainTugBoat on 2013/11/26 22:54
Well... I'm still learning to navigate the App, but so far I really like it. I used ESPN for fantasy football last year and loved it. Had a great time using ESPN. So, I was resistant to change. Yahoo was immediately better. Now I'm using the App... I like most of it. It's a teeny bit harder to navigate, but I think it has way more features... Plus, u can DRAFT from your phone using the app. So cool. Millions of reasons to use it. Just needs a little refinement. I bet they'll get it just right next year. I have some thoughts for them. Okay.... I started writing this review weeks and weeks ago. After having used this app for most of my season I have learned to really like it. There are a few little features that they could add to make it better, but the app functions well and allows you to do most of the things that you would like it to do. When I need some more very specific information that the app cannot provide me, I can always get onto Safari and check out the full online version of Yahoo fantasy football. So, overall I really like this app. I will definitely use it again next year. I just hope that they add projections for future weeks under players stats and other various statistics for teams and players.
Terrible app: take note Yahoo!
by Joemama619 on 2013/09/09 04:09
Last year's fantasy football app was actually pretty good. This year, Yahoo has completely changed the app and it is TERRIBLE! The worst part is it's very slow and hangs up, frequently requiring a hard reset. When I say frequently, I mean nearly every time I try to change pages or perform an action. The user interface is not nearly as user-friendly as last year. The UI is ugly and jumbled and difficult to figure out when switching between different fantasy leagues. Scrolling is horribly implemented! When scrolling down, everything appears okay, but if you need to scroll up because (for instance) you passed up a player, the menu pops up and realigns the player list. It makes whatever list you're looking at "jump around" on the screen. It would be better if the menu was always present rather than making it disappear and reappear. Also, switching up starters on the roster is poorly done. Once a player is selected that you want to start, the interface is anything but straightforward. It's not obvious as to who you have selected. And to make matters worse, some switches don't even go through! I changed my starters this morning only to realize at game-time that my changes didn't even go through! This app is a POS. Unfortunately this app is the only way to access my league while not at home. This will be the last year my friends and I use Yahoo! fantasy football unless this is resolved.
To All Commissioners/League Managers...
by HI.cOnCePt on 2013/09/11 07:21
Please oh Please, do yourself and the rest of the league a favor and don't use Yahoo or switch immediately! This is my first year playing In a Yahoo league and I've never been so frustrated with an app in my life. Not only is it sloooooow, it doesn't load properly. I've turned my devices off and on, I've deleted the app and reinstalled it... 3 times, signed in and out, done everything possible to try and get it to work right... Nothin. It'll work for a minute then, then I get a blank screen, sometimes it splits the pages. (3/4 of one page on top,1/4 of another page on the bottom) Just to check my scores I'm going into my ESPN app (which is a million times better) to see what's happening with my players. With the way this app has been acting, God help us when try to make a trade and you end up with someone's kicker while they get AP from you! Haha! I've only had experience with ESPN, so I can't comment on other ones, but they absolutely give me what I need and more. No reason to switch elsewhere, absolutely flawless functionality! If you have no choice, stay near a computer before games because not if, but when this App screws up and its about kick off time, and you find out one of your starting players is OUT because he's got a paper cut on his pinky, LOL... Well, we all know what'll happen then... A BIG FAT ZER0!
Gettin' there
by jaydeedoubleyou on 2013/01/13 11:46
I'd kick in another 1/2 star on this if it were possible. The UI is solid but the apps technical characteristics as well as its overall "power" are pretty mediocre. I've found this to be mostly just useful for checking league scores and standings—if I ever needed any real league insight or managerial ability I've found myself on Bleacher Report or logging into the Yahoo desktop site 9 times out of 10. Once more tangible functionality is added I'll kick it up to four and when a level of solid stability is acquired then it'll be worthy of five. (The power outage really hurt your core consumer confidence.) Our league will be voting next preseason of whether we stick with Yahoo or move to CBS. I'm a Yahoo fan so I'm hoping you guys can pull one out and really make this relevant for 2013 and beyond. Might be worth considering a move to a new UI on the home screen utilizing a grid system as found on Flipboard, Cool Hunting, Pulse, etc. That would really open up space for navigable, pertinent and customized content for each player. This app should be an invaluable tool in fantasy league play—right now it seems more like it's just checking the box for having an app. Good luck devs! Go Hawks!
Rookie opinionated!
by La_Bala on 2014/10/26 09:04
This is my very first Fantasy Football Season and even though I might not know the ins and outs I think that every opinion is valuable. I like the app a lot, however I think a couple of things should be added. For example, the color of the match up against the team, green yellow and red, just like in the computer, so when you are doing changes on the app on the road it is easier to figure out what match up would be best to put your players on. Also, I got myself addicted to this thing so I have 4 leagues, so every time I open the app and the points have changed it is hard to tell if they went up or down and in which league, so how about updating it when the points go up color it in green and when they go down (fumble, interception) color it in red. The same for when you open a specific league, how about showing an update from the last time the league was opened in green and red when the points went up or down accordingly. I know this is rookie talk, but maybe this is thinking outside the box and with fresh eyes, and how hard can this be, so come on, get it together, man!
To late
by Defender fanatic on 2014/03/17 18:44
You just did an update today and it says this is the best update of our career. Don't you think it's a little late for that.? It's march don't you think you should of fixed it DURING FOOTBALL SEASON!!!!! Iv HAD to use this app for 5 years because yahoo is the league I'm in and this app has SUCKED EVERY YEAR and you fix it after football season then you will update it again at the start of the season and screw it up again. Yahoo is famous for doing this iv lost 3 out of 5 years just because of this app. Saying I changed my line up but did not do it. And NEVER working on Sunday and Monday night. I hope we do a different league next year because YOU have been putting the worst app in history out for 5 years in a row. If incompetence was a sport you would be in the Hall of Fame. Iv NEVER seen such incompetence in all my 47 years. And iv seen some incompetence. Trust me. I changed my server from yahoo because they are soooooo terrible. It's like you have 3 year olds working there. It's to little to late. YOU ARE PATHETIC YAHOO. And have done NOTHING for 5 years in a row to prove me and countless reviewers any different. So your UPDATE means NOTHING to us. Especially in March. Incase you didn't no football is over in February. This is March so just another stupid update from yahoo to make yourself look stupid AGAIN.
Used to be decent..now just bad
by Slipfan on 2011/09/08 23:36
What the heck happened? Seriously unreal and on the night of the NFL opener the app isn't complete. Last years version was decent. This one has a quirky UI and of course is missing vital components like drop/add ad well as almost everything else. Next year I'm convincing my league to switch from yahoo to ANYTHING else. Below is my review for last years app. Although, I haven't really utilized the app much since the season hasn't started I'm still giving this app 5 stars. I used last years app and although it wasn't perfect it definitely did the job. This years app doesn't seem all that different except it allows for real time scoring. While ESPN, part of billion dollar company, is charging $5 for their app Yahoo is giving their's away for free. So I will patronize their sponsors, check out the ads, and be thankful they aren't trying to shank me for $5 like ESPN. I realize this app doesn't have every feature available that some of the paid apps have but the UI is very smooth and I am able to make changes to my team on the fly as well as keep up on scores and my current matchup. Hopefully, yahoo will continue to improve this app with updates. So thank you Yahoo for not trying to rip us off like ESPN. you have my business for years to come.
Barely Functional and Terrible Navigation
by adambware on 2013/09/10 23:48
Scores and all data is slow to update. Navigation is jerky and NOT intuitive. Sidebar navigation is worthless and filled with yahoo garbage not even related to fantasy football. Glitch on iPhone 5 where screen doesn't reach to the bottom but the settings menu item oddly appears where it doesn't reach. The settings menu has options for push notifications but those options never load (which should be handled in apples notification settings anyway). No commissioner tools. It's almost impossible to view all of a players statistics because the side-scrolling stats conflict with swiping between players, on top of the fact that you cant even scroll through stats at the bottom of an iphone 5 for some reason. There's now a permanent banner at the top telling users to force quit if data is not loading. FIX IT, don't put this on the users. Coming from a web/app developer, a fantasy football commissioner, and a fan of yahoo fantasy football in general, this is ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC and not even worth the 1 star I'm forced to give it. Hopefully the developers or yahoo's new female CEO will get the hint that we want FUNCTIONALITY NOT A FLASHY APP WITH PRETTY COLORS. Also, the new app icon is garbage compared to the old one. FAIL!
Clunky and haphazard
by @josueMacK on 2013/09/10 01:41
I've always used Yahoo for my FF leagues. When the apps came out I jumped on the opportunity to see my league on the go. Until now I had never been let down. This version is extremely clunky. It tries to be sleek like the new look on the web version of your league home but fails miserably. I'm not having data issues like others, but I'm not pleased with the look and operation of this app. Also, when viewing live stat updates on your weekly matchups, if you're scrolling down through the screen there's no problem. However, when you go to scroll back up to see a player there are top and bottom tabs that pop-up and only allow you to see two players max. Look, while aggravating at least it works on my iPad, but my iPhone screen is MUCH smaller. When the screen jumps like that it is just extremely confusing at first, then it becomes off-putting. Fix a couple of small issues and it could be good. Remove the adds (which I've never noticed in other versions) and the Yahoo tab at the bottom of the screen (if i wanted a Yahoo app i would download one from the app store. This app should be dedicated to FF) and it could be great!
So Disappointed
by jlnvs on 2011/09/18 17:37
Another Sunday and I still can't monitor my team on wifi or 3G. The refresh spinner just keeps going. I've used this app for 3 years and this year it is simply unusable. The scores either don't update or the individual matchup page just refreshes on game day and never updates (using wifi or 3G). Sometimes the scores update but not the game clock status. The navigation is not as intuitive as in past years. For example - On the home page the "View Matchup" link should take you to your matchup - not the whole league page. The matchup pages are really hard to scroll without clicking on a player profile. And the concept of little tiny text links you click with your fingernail in an iPhone app is just silly. I also have not figured out how to add/drop players even though that was is the list of features. I also don't understand why the matchup pages show projected points for players but does not show the team total like the website does. This missing feature makes setting up your roster to ensure you have more projected points than your opponent much more difficult. The website in Safari works so much better than the native app but not nearly as convenient as a working app would be.
For the love of god fix this thing!
by This nickname is taken 89 on 2013/12/01 17:37
It's pretty d@#$ obvious that Yahoo! is paying no attention at all to this app anymore. I understand the fantasy season is almost over, but this thing is almost unusable in the state it's in right now. For the past month a white screen keeps popping up, & here lately it's been getting more & more constant. At times, when the white screen comes up you can just exit out of it, but other times it gets stuck on the white screen. All you can do then is reset the app & start over again with what you were doing. And hopefully you can complete your task before it does it again. This is not the only issue that has plagued Yahoo! Fantasy Football this year, but i feel it is one of the worst. And even worst is the fact that Yahoo! is doing absolutely nothing about it. I have been dealing with Yahoo's sh@#%! work with fantasy sports for a long time now. And at this point I feel like it is worth the extra cash playing on CBS Sports, to not have to deal with this crap. I'm doing great in my leagues right now, yet I am looking forward to the end of the season, more just to finally be done with Yahoo!.
Runs SO MUCH BETTER
by DJShotz on 2011/11/20 13:53
This is the best the app has been all year. I don't get logged out randomly. I don't have to keep "retrying" to connect. You can FINALLY add/drop... Only thing missing is waiver additions... If you guys just make a waiver button under "view roster" it might work best for you! Click the waiver button and see each team in the order of there waiver with a number by the team name... Then once inside on the bottom you'll see two tabs one says "List" other says "My Waviers"... Click on my waivers and you can easily see a list of waivers in the order they will occur for example click edit to change order (kind of like how you change players)... Also when you click a waiver you will see each player and they're current stats they will be spreader by putting a "Get:" section at the top and a "Drop" section at the bottom... Implement that and you are GOLDEN... shouldn't be hard since you have all the tools available already in use throughout your app
Terrible Version
by iflyfa18s on 2013/09/13 18:16
How much begging will it take to go back to the old version? Every time I open the app, I'm on a page with 2 buttons. Create/Join League & Draft Central. I'm in a league. I want to do neither. And did I mention the error "Can't connect to server. Dismiss or Retry"? It has never NOT popped up. I have a great connection, but this app can never find it. Now I did see the menu, but it asks me to sign in. When I tap it... Nothing. When I click settings, it goes to a page that just says Push Notifications. Nothing there to select. The Rate This App button seems to be the only link that works in the whole app. I've never even been able to see my team. Is it me? Am I missing something? I don't see a link to my team or anything. Is this a terrible app or can someone tell me how it works? I never had a problem with the previous versions. UPDATE: In the ongoing fiasco that is this horrible app, I found a place to provide feedback & contact tech support. The thing is, to send a question, you need to fill in a captcha. I have never gotten one wrong in my life, but after being told 15 times my response was wrong, I gave up. Worst app ever!
Frustrating
by TAvzw on 2013/09/15 04:03
I gotta say, I love Yahoo's fantasy leagues, definitely the gold standard in fantasy football for sure. But this app is pretty terrible. When it works, I really like the functionality... Checking on player status / notes is easy and roster moves are seamless... But then it just stops working. Suddenly data stops loading and all functionality is lost. I have made roster moves that appeared to save but then didn't which can be a huge problem. They have had multiple updates come out where cheeky version changes talk about how "data problems have been ejected" and "our terrible app has been upgraded to full health" or whatever, but still the data stalls exist and it can be maddening. Mostly happens when switching between leagues (I have 3) but still... When I have 5-10 minutes to dedicate to checking my teams, I probably have to restart the app 5-6 times. They actually had a banner at the top for a long time that said if your data isn't loading to restart the app. C'mon guys, you're Yahoo, and your fantasy leagues are the best there is, gotta fix this or what's the point of having an app at all?
If you only want to see your homepage…
by Cdflen on 2013/11/05 11:31
Revised review: This is the first year the app has actually worked (knock on wood). I'm not a fan of the dark background or the sensitivity when scrolling (individual player info pops up), but these are minor complaints compared to past years when it crashed constantly or never even opened. Old review: If you only want to see your homepage…this is the app for you. If you want to view points, rankings, match-ups, players, make a trade, read a players status, or the most obvious thing on a Sunday - see if you're winning - nope, not the app for you. Why is a company as huge as Yahoo! unable to EVER get it together w/their FF app? It's the same year after year. They (almost) fix it by the time the season ends, but they should be troubleshooting for months before it starts. 94.3% of everyone I know plays FF so it's not like this is a basket weaving app used by 6 grandmas! Get it together Yahoo! and I'll change my rating.
Still could use some of the features on computer
by TheGovNa on 2012/09/05 13:43
I love playing yahoo fantasy football and over the years the app has gotten better but there are a few tweaks and features holding it back from a 5 star rating. First the app works fine for setting your team and making trades, picking up new players and tracking game day stats, but the scrolling feature is a bit clunky and sometimes you swipe to scroll down and it either does nothing or selects a player. Also I want the new placers section to have more filters like projected stats for the next week or the research function available in the web page. On the go I use the app all the time but when I'm out and about an I see a player got hurt I usually open the web page instead to check stats before using the app to add them to my team. All in all really good app, I would just like the extra bells an whistles available through the web page
need bigger fonts, better layout
by cbp2 on 2012/09/06 01:10
For watching a live matchup, I set my iPad off to the side… but the screen layout and font sizes are all horrible for this. Treat it like a stadium scoreboard - the important info needs to be BIG and easy to view. The list of match ups on the left takes up like 25% of the screen! Why? There' a ton of wasted white space there, too. Why do you need to waste space with the projected stats? Make that a toggle or something, but I don't need to see that all the time. The player names, current score, current game time, etc should be HUGE. I should be able to read these from 10 feet away. I should also be able to see ALL my active players on a single screen (I shouldn't have to scroll at all). Please, please… fix this. One more thing… there appears to be no live updating. So far, I've had to hit the refresh button to get any updates. It should update automatically, ideally with push notifications, but otherwise at least once every 30-60 secs.
Good Job Yahoo
by iStAcKsKuLLzz on 2012/10/31 03:49
It does have average graphics and only one update to the app so far this season, and the notes on most players aren't updated through out the week (more efficiency on that would be nice) but I give it 4 stars. I am constantly checking everything like player stats and keeping up with the league I'm currently in. I also keep up with the weekly NFL stats more via CBS Sports. I do like the fact you can update your rosters to the coming weeks. Yahoo Fantasy Football has definitely got me more in tune with stats in the NFL. I have always been a statistician but this definitely forces me to keep up with what's going on way more than I have in the past. I am currently 5-3 and in first place in my league. I lead the league in points scored and I am second in points allowed thru 8 weeks. This is my first season playing fantasy football and it will definitely keep me busy for 17 weeks out of the year.
Great and useful!
by jlondon81 on 2009/09/14 06:11
First off, this has to be better than what ESPN is offering. ESPN advertises a free online game but charges $4.99 for the iPhone app? Please! I'm glad to see the free live scoring included in the app. I never paid for it before and was glad to hear they made it free this year. Never having had it before, I was a bit thrown off but the constant adding and subtracting of points, but I caught in quickly. I would love to be able to see other matchups within the league as opposed to going to Safari. Other than that I cant see too much wrong with it. Seems like it'd be easy to integrate more from the site to the app. With all the competition from ESPN and the like and with these apps being so new, I would hope the geniuses at Yahoo! will get on suggested improvements quickly. Plus, let's remember that Week 1 was the first true run of this. I can only hope for an update by Week 2 or 3 with some of our suggestions.
MUCH better than last year's app
by Wxuxwxyz on 2013/10/23 01:52
Update: the app now allows you to scroll through news from player to player by swiping sideways, which is a nice feature. The only problem is that you cant tell which players have new news because the "new item" indicator stays on for 3-4 days (unlike the web version, which knows what items you have already seen). Having a way to sort all player news by "most recent" would be useful. Also, the app cannot search for players (off waivers) based on any criterion except position. Previous review: This app is vastly improved over last years version. After my scathing review last year, I actually like this app. The only shortcoming (which ESPNs app has) is an "activity feed" that lets you see all of the recent injury reports and player updates at once. Because the yahoo app doesn't have this, it's not useful for making decisions about who to start.
Better than good!
by Need0033 on 2012/11/17 13:42
I enjoy this app immensely due to how convenient it is to check my fantasy squad and updates on the go. I do, however, wish it had some added features, such as the star ratings for your players and the epilogue that goes with what the fantasy advisors think of their weekly matchup. I find myself going to the computer more often than not just for that information. Also, in leagues where you hold the responsibilities as commissioner, I hope someday we can handle those options through this app, as sometimes a computer is not handy. Just some ideas going forward.. All in all, I love this app, especially because its FREE! Yahoo has continued to surge to the front when it comes to FF with constant updates and new ideas that keep us, especially commissioners, hungry for more. I will continue and look forward to using this app (if offered) for years to come. Thank you Yahoo!
Bad design, even worse execution
by Rbm0183 on 2013/09/10 11:59
Yahoo's updates to the web browsing fantasy football experience were really bad this year. But compared to the horrific changes they made to their mobile app, the online changes look great. This app is absolutely terrible. 1. It doesn't work. One would have thought they'd make sure the bugs were worked out by the time bullets were flying in week 1 of the NFL season, but the app is only getting worse and more unstable as time passes. 2. The UI is ugly and bizarre. Why Yahoo thought going from a clean, functional, easy-to-use appearance to this new look - which features icons that make no sense - is a mystifying question. 3. It's so hard to just view information you want to see. The viewable area changes constantly, making it very frustrating to try and view the information you're trying to see. Want to view the news or stats for your players? If you don't swipe your finger perfectly you will instead be taken to the next player on your roster. Every time. And now they have made the viewable area even smaller by adding a note to the top of the screen telling you to force close the app if it stops working (thanks, Captain Obvious) and links to other Yahoo apps at the bottom of the screen which seem to be impossible to make disappear. All in all, between the online changes and the complete and total butchering of their app, Yahoo has pretty much forced me to move to another fantasy football service after 12 years with them. It's that bad.
Awesome app but...
by TweederNutz on 2012/10/13 14:33
For some dumb reason I don't readily see my players' Byes listed on their profile or anywhere for that matter. That's kind of annoying but I still love this app and can't give it less than 5 stars. I would like to see more "sort by" options on the player search or waver line (ie: Season projected or weekly projected) much like the full web version. Also if the "Pick em" was incorporated into the app somewhere, I would love to use it but in my league everyone manages via the App only. Great job though, thanks yahoo. After my first year last year, I'm a big fan of your setup and FFB On a separate note, the iPad version has a few minor details that yahoo added that makes it tons better than the phone app when it comes to researching and comparing players and teams for making your weekly starting decisions. Awesome app!
Yahoo should be embarrassed
by OfferedRemains on 2011/09/28 00:13
This is yet another time when I wish apple would allow a 'no star' rating. This app is so pathetic in every way. First, they update it for the 2011 season by changing up the UI and TAKING AWAY FEATURES!!! What kind of app update removes useful features that make the app worthwhile?!?! I was shocked to see I could no longer add/drop players or even search for players. But they promised an update, so I waited. The update came and I downloaded it thinking relief had come. WRONG! First the app would load but then trying to do any little task was a chore beyond all chores. It was awful. Finally, the app decided to quit loading all together. It sits at the loading screen and never actually loads the app no matter how long I give it. Yahoo has been going down the drain for a long time now and the fact that they would release such a sorry app and essentially tell their customers to just deal with by not addressing any of our concerns is further proof of the horrible company they have become. You should be so embarrassed to be associated with this app, yahoo. Pathetic!
Reliable but Bad UI
by Kataclysmic on 2013/09/16 13:15
Although I have found this app to be reliable, I find its user interface almost unacceptable. They have menus with no purpose, toolbars that disappear when you scroll and reappear when you're on the top of the screen making navigation incredibly awkward. The add/drop feature leaves much to be desired to the extent that I haven't dedicated time to figuring it out. Same with the waiver wire access. Furthermore, if you're in multiple leagues, viewing all of your matchups is RIDICULOUSLY difficult as you have go go from the matchup on the main screen, hit back which takes you to THAT league's home page, THEN go back to the main page. Same process every time. If you're someone that likes to compulsively check your scores this app likes making you work for it. I also find the presentation of the information and stats inelegant and hard to read. It's not presented in a way that is easily digestible. Overall, yea this app does what it should but in a lazy and sloppy way.
Garbage app!!
by Mwolff92 on 2011/09/27 18:57
Love playing fantasy football through yahoos ONLINE layout but this app is garbage!! Last year the app was slow at loading and froze from time to time, somehow yahoo managed to come out with an even worse app! They made they layout look awesome this year but it gets stuck loading your team/matchup/league standing. It doesn't keep up with live games so unless you use safari or have a computer around don't even think about checking your score. Also they released the app with NO FREE AGENTS promising an update with player search would be released... Well they did, now you can find your players but you can't add/drop or put them on the waiver wire, WHAT'S THE POINT?!?!? yahoo's app is complete garbage this year, it amazes me that a month into the season they still haven't managed more that one update because this app needs to be fixed, yahoo is going to lose so many, including myself, to espn and NFL fantasy football. For this year download Fantast football monster '11 and as for next year, switch to espn or NFL fantasy football!
ESPN destroys this app
by plough12 on 2014/12/14 14:26
ESPN app far superior in a number of ways: yahoo doesn't have anything to compare to ESPN's FantasyCast that shows play by play of all NFL games. This is THE biggest complaint I have about this behind the times app. Yahoos player profiles are severely limited in information and content compared to ESPN. Small example, weekly performance says week# instead of opponent. There have been instances of software roster glitches that have cost me and others in my league. One week, another team and I had our DEF displaying active on Saturday and didn't notice until after our teams had locked that the DEF slot was empty. Just this week, I cancelled a claim 10 hours before it was to process after learning of an injury, but yahoo processed it the following morning anyway. Their actual site is slightly better than their app but STILL has nothing on ESPN's app. I could go on and on but to summarize, the winner of our league is the following years commissioner. When I win this season, I'll be picking this league up and heading to ESPN.
Still way too many bugs and the season has started!
by ItsML on 2013/09/06 03:59
Yahoo is so commonly used for fantasy football but next year I'm gonna get our group to switch to a better company! Last years and this years fantasy football apps have way too many bugs. It often doesn't load at all, doesn't load when you select a different match up to look at, and doesnt update changes in scores. The biggest thing is that it failed to load for our league's draft! Some friends and I were all using our iPads for our draft and all of ours failed to load no matter what we did, reset ipad, reset app, redone loaded app, nothing! We had to rush and sign into other friend's laptops, putting two or two people on the same computer, and our friend who picked 6 timed out and didnt get the player he wanted because of the problems with this app. It needs some major improvements to be a reliable app! It's only week 1 of the season and we're already frustrated with the app, I'm sure there will be issues later as the season progresses...
Beautiful. People who hate....
by roddykaregaran on 2013/09/06 09:47
This app is gorgeous. I am in love with the new yahoo and everything you guys are doing. People who are hating aren't use to change. This is a business people. Yahoo is becoming the massive powerhouse entity they once were, and it's due to the gorgeous design on this app (& other yahoo apps) AS WELL AS the website. There are a few situations (not bugs) that can be amended within the app (1. scrolling up shouldn't be so fast to unhide the top and bottom nav bars when you're looking at a team, it can be annoying. 2. We still need smack talk. 3. More profile customization and history views of previous leagues within the app, essentially bring more of the website features to the app), but overall working great! This year I've noticed the least amount of bugs. Keep up the great work!!!
Corporate Hypocrisy
by Aquaturk121 on 2014/08/02 03:26
Yahoo! wants to parade their CEO, Marissa Mayer, around as if she is some avid sports freak in touch with the thousands of fantasy football fans. They use Ms. Mayer to market how great their fantasy products are by having her act as if she actually uses them, knowing full well the Yahoo! Fantasy App for iPhone fails to perform the basic of functions (i.e. display all of the registered teams in a league). The sad truth is if Ms. Mayer was who she pretends to be, she would know this particular app simply does not work and do something to fix it. What is even more insulting is that Yahoo! puts idiotic radio advertisements on Sirius/XM talking about the greatness of their "award winning" fantasy app. This is total nonsense considering this app has a measly 2 star rating and is full of angry and frustrated users begging for Yahoo! to fix the problems. Ms. Mayer may be attractive, but not nearly attractive enough to distract from the fact that Yahoo! is simply incapable of designing and programming a quality fantasy app. The only "fantasy" is the one where Ms. Mayer and her team of flunkies dwell.
Best Fantasy App Hands Down!
by DPINDATWHITEP on 2015/01/05 07:10
I've been using Yahoo! As my fantasy option ever since I started playing fantasy sports over 10 years ago and this App. Is the best one not only because of the Yahoo! fantasy style, but just the overall ease and look. I play almost every fantasy sport (4 football teams, basketball, hockey, baseball) and to have one app that you can access all your teams is great! Live scoring and fantasy notes and news is great. Only reason I don't gib it 5 stars is that the formatting/features are not the same for every sport. For example, the football sections offer a different format/information than the basketball. Anyways I will forever use yahoo! The only thing that they could add from ESPN is the player matchup system used in football (where it matters on what position you place your players affects the overall score).
It's OK...when it's working
by Locard73 on 2013/09/10 10:22
Progress, for the most part, is good. Yahoo is clearly trying to put out a better app here. But if seems as if they are more concerned with how it looks than how it works. Sure it looks a bit better than last years offering, but it's functionality is a whole different story. It is filled with so many bugs that it difficult to get through a day without something going wrong (I missed about half of one of my drafts trying to get it up and running after an update that was supposed to "hibachi" one of the bugs). Clearly, there was not nearly enough testing performed prior to the rollout. They had about six months to get if right and they missed the mark. By the way Yahoo, your descriptions of how you took care of the bugs were funny the first few times. After reading through so many of them during the frequent updates (which seem to only cause other problems) they are now annoying. Concentrate more on fixing the problems and less in being cute and creative.
Lazy
by The KzA on 2009/09/12 03:48
This is a lazy, lackluster and near useless app. Clearly Yahoo! see more value in it's advertisers than it's user community. Everyone reviewing this app would have paid $.99 or more for a solid, feature rich application. But this isn't an application, it is an advert sold to and advertiser to "reach eyeballs on an innovative platform." I don't care about Subway. I care about scores, push updates and alerts, my league community, transactions, waivers, injuries and timely news. But clearly, you guys think I came here for a sandwich ad. Subway: this money would have been better spent on your own app that's rushed, useless and lackluster. (BTW, I wouldn't have a problem with your logos if this app did any of the things that a FF team/league owner could be productive with.) Buyer beware. Yeah, it's free, I know. But it'll cost you time, memory, wasted multi-touching energy and enthusiasm towards Yahoo! Fantasy products. To build this and put it out, sponored no less, is a true testement to why Yahoo! needs to be bought. No respect for the user or the experience context.
Better than the others..
by Trinijoeindc on 2012/11/18 18:07
I have this, ESPN, and NFL apps for fantasy football and this is by far the best one. The things I like are the ease of substituting the players with access to additional stats, the scoring is updated really fast, and I really like how they show predictions for the remainder of the season. On the other end of the spectrum I think player news needs to be updated quicker. I've seen mutiple times where players get updated days later. Last thing and I actually hate this, you can't do your draft via the app. To br fair the other two platforms can't do it either so this is something Yahoo should definitely try and do before anyone else because that is a game changer for me. Also, that outage was a fluke and i've never had a problem with them before and i've used the platform forever. Good luck!!
Yahoo Fantasy Football
by Andrewmv79 on 2013/09/11 23:13
I've played fantasy football for upwards of 10 years now. Yahoo is, by far my favorite, only the past 3 or 4 weeks my link isn't working. It reads "error connecting to server" I have no prob getting anything else to work, so it is the yahoo server. Once that stops happening, I will love this site again. When you wake up early to set a lineup and check the injury report, to not be able to do anything is extremely aggravating !! I wrote the above complaint last year, and this year the app freezes after just a few actions. Why can't you get it right? I have another league I play in ESPN, and there site is way better. That's saying a lot since there's is inferior to yours in many ways, but when I decide to set a lineup, or compare my weekly matchup, it allows me to do so. Please fix
Needs a lot of work
by AlArPa on 2013/09/12 02:49
I like the direction Yahoo headed with this year's app (allowing live draft directly from the app, making roster updates and player news much easier to see and move between, and an overall slicker presentation), but the execution has fallen flat. Perhaps the back end wasn't quite as fleshed out as the UI front end (which I really do like). The problem is that the app is just buggy and inconsistent. There will be times when it works flawlessly, but just as frequently it hangs when moving between panels. Or player data will load, but attempting to sort by a column header causes the page to become unresponsive. It can't be a good thing when there's a very prominent banner message at the top of the app suggesting a force quit if data doesn't load. I'm hoping there's an update around the corner to add some stability, because there are some good things going on. The performance just stinks at the moment.
Gets better each year/update
by EGWashburn on 2012/09/16 03:32
The first few versions in my opinion weren't very good at all, struggling and throwing ugly errors if the network connection was lost or you left the app and came back. This version is MUCH better, and with each release and each season the app gets better and better. At this point I believe it does everything it should, as well as it should. I'd like to see a portrait mode on the iPhone and I personally would rather the app use more standard buttons/controls/layouts, but unlike earlier versions, the app now works as expected, even with the custom buttons/controls so it's really just a matter of preference. If you are participating in a Yahoo fantasy football league and have an iPhone/iPod Touch than there's absolutely no reason you shouldn't have and use this app regularly.
What a mess...
by HawksFan69 on 2011/10/18 04:07
I'm still trying to figure out who thought this app was an improvement over last year's. The graphics are sharper, but it's definitely not worth the rest of the horrible stuff you have to deal with. It takes FOREVER to get to any page (if at all). And once it gets there, it is almost impossible to scroll through the page without accidentally launching another page. You don't get nearly the same details in stats as the 2010 version--- which actually doesn't surprise me too much because I think the programmers of this app know NOTHING about sports. Hint for you guys: when you show the score of a game that a certain player is playing in, you ALWAYS put the score of the player's team first. I had a Steelers player in my lineup during the Steelers-Seahawks game a few weeks ago and was STUNNED when I saw the game score was 0-14. Well, turns out it the score was actually 14-0. It's times like this I wish I could give zero stars. My one star definitely comes with a huge asterisk.
Plain Awful
by Sabor Místico on 2014/05/19 00:54
Being so mobile, I thought this app would be a big help to me when I am in transit and unable to use a computer. Unfortunately this has proven not to be the case as I have tried everything I can think of but I can't get this thing to work. I have studied it, played with it, deleted and re-installed it, and attempted to use every button/function I can identify, but no matter what I do I cannot get this thing to work, much less make changes of any kind to my fantasy team lineup. This is awful because that was the entire point of downloading this app in the first place. Also, even in terms of figuring out how everything worked, I found what little instruction there was, confusing and unhelpful, which only slowed me down in trying to determine if the app worked at all. In the end, this app is of little use to me, and that's extremely disappointing. Please overhaul this thing. It could be a great resource for Yahoo fantasy sports gamers -- if only it worked.
Good App, Not Great
by rljohnson on 2012/09/22 15:57
This is a nice app to use as a supplementary experience to managing your team on the desktop website. I love to use this app while watching games on Sunday to keep track of my team, as well as my opponent's. However, I do not believe that this app is fleshed out enough to use as a standalone app to fully manage your team. Features like player notes and game to game statistics are not fully available to app users the way that they are to website users. I sometimes find myself logging into the site on my iPad to get more detailed numbers. It does what it absolutely needs to, and as a companion app to monitor your team on game day this is a great app. It's missing a few features that could make it great (more detailed stats page, a game tracker of some sort to monitor the progress of multiple games simultaneously).
Crap App
by Beanstalker1973 on 2012/09/25 03:48
Poor functionality even with the latest update- on gameday it's missing information - stats not updated or correct IF they even appear! I never know how I am doing so why use this app? It tells me nothing. As for making roster moves - clunky- and I'd rather do that on my computer. I need the app on the fly to check on my score and this app is useless for that. The reviews written by the programmers crack me up - giving it high marks and suggesting to add player #'s - what?! That's about as clueless a suggestion as the makers of the app itself! Obviously NOT written by someone that knows fantasy football... Player numbers would be helpful???What???? How??? OMG what a fake review that was! Yahoo would be better off canning this entire new interface (and those responsible for it) and just go back to the one they had 2 years ago which worked much better and was easy to use! I actually am surprised Apple even approved this App to be used as an iPhone/iPad app - it doesn't even come close to the standard! Its not easy to use or figure out - poorly designed! BTW - the yahoo StatTracker is messed up now too so I cant even get reliable FF scoring updates from yahoo on my computer. The dummies think it's enough to update everything in GameChannel for all the NFL games but not in our own Fantasy Football games?? The people now in charge of Yahoo Fantasy Football quite obviously don't know fantasy football.
Pretty good, but could use a couple improvements.
by Kelly Fleig on 2014/09/10 02:05
This app has worked pretty well in managing most aspects of my team. I have only noticed a couple of flaws. First, it would not allow anyone in our league to draft defensive players during the draft if they were using the app. The website worked fine but anyone using the app had to log on to the website after and just take what was left. Second, and this is a small one, the app will not allow you to post links in the chat section. My league seems to use the chat feature a lot. If you need to post a link to a site or article in the chat system you must do so on the website as the app won't allow you to post links or copy/paste from the chat section. Other than those things, it's a good app.

The app is pretty and I love fantasy basketball through yahoo, it's the best to use! Although, probably the nicest fantasy app that I have seen is Fan Duels. It is quick and easy to use with information in perfect places. Here are my few gripes about the Yahoo app: 1) The app is to cluttered. It's not a very user friendly app. It's intimidating to follow along. More so than the old Yahoo Basketball app. The old one, while ugly, was so much easier to follow and use. 2) Not enough settings. I want to have commish abilities, all of the them. But it's so limited. 3) Add "Start available players" button. This would be huge for all the casual players. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make this happen. :) 5) It's too difficult to see if you have a notification (trade request), make it red or give push notifications or something, instead of making the same white color that the rest of the app is. I had a trade request waiting for me and didn't know it until someone text me and said "did you see my request?" 6) Ads. Let me buy a premium version. 7) Not enough customization. I would love to be able to change the look and feel of the app But nonetheless, Yahoo is the best available fantasy basketball league. I'm excited for the season and hope to see some great enhancements to the app soon.
Great App
by sDotFIR3 on 2012/10/11 15:55
Much better UI than ESPN, I use both and have tried the NFL or CBS versions with this by far being my favorite with one small complaint, player updates are not as quick as ESPN, it seems to load a couple hours earlier. But come game day all the information is great! I just like to check during the week and find myself looking up my Yahoo, or any roster for that matter, on ESPN. But that is merely during the week. The upgrade on Yahoo over this past season are by far the best making this a must have for any fantasy player. Yahoo is much more user friendly in all aspects including the website. I prefer it over other sites hands down simply for the fact that you can customize scoring much more than what other sites will offer and it has the best app.
So Far... Horrible Disappoint!
by schlerbo on 2013/09/06 04:30
1st- overall graphics are less appealing than last year's. 2nd- draft interface was horrible! Was disconnected multiple times which resulted in an auto-draft pick. If you're going to buy out the best FF draft app on the market, why don't you incorporate some of its features? 3rd- app crashes consistently. Only into the first game of the season & the app crashes almost every time I access it. 4th- information doesn't load- even if the app doesn't crash, it won't load and display the information, like.. Your own line-up, available players, even your current score. 4th- NOTE TO YAHOO - a lot of people like to run their FF teams completely from their mobile phones and you have taken 2 (if not 3) steps backward from the previous version and delivered an inferior product to your customer base. I'm only 3/4 of the way thru the 1st game of the NFL season & I am completely livid about not being able to have a reliable mobile application.
Log In issue resolved
by azcards09 on 2009/09/10 10:28
Updating my previous review from 1 star to 3 stars as I can now sign in and use the app using my Yahoo! ID and password. After I first installed the app yesterday, I could not log in using my Yahoo! ID and password. The app kept giving me a "Sign-In Problem. Please contact customer support." error when trying to log in. I was finally able to resolve the issue on my own by logging into my Yahoo! account on my laptop and changing my password to one more secure containing numbers and at least one capital letter. After changing my Yahoo! account password, I was then able to log in the iphone app without issue. If you're unable to log into this app using your Yahoo! account, give this a try. The app currently does not show projected points for your players. I'd like to see that added, as well as see live scoring for all teams in my league.
LOTS of issues -- In need of some immediate fixes
by Purcelly211 on 2013/09/08 20:34
I used to actually LOVE this app; in past years, this app has worked perfectly for me; HOWEVER, over the past week, I've experienced a number of problems... And, worst of all, this morning (of all days)--the first regular season Sunday of the season--the repeated freezing up and having to force quit/close the app numerous times (as well as several instances of the app going back and forth between responsive and unresponsive without warning), I actually was unable to make a last minute roster change to my team for my Week 1 matchup. Luckily, the move (rather, the lack thereof) didn't hurt me... Nevertheless, I certainly can't risk something like this happening in the future. Obviously, with the problems I've experienced, along with the problems detailed by MANY other people commenting on here as well, there are clearly some MAJOR ISSUES that need to be fixed ASAP...
Finally - Live Drafting on iDevice
by Choochee123 on 2013/08/14 17:49
As the rest of the world knows, the many iDevices are not Flash compatible (and thus cannot run the Yahoo Live Draft in Safari). However, Yahoo has finally acknowledged this fact and has an updated Fantasy Football App for iPhone and iPad that works for the draft. I just completed a Live Mock Draft on an iPhone 3GS without incident. You can set your player queue, talk trash on the message board, have access to all the views of teams, picks, players, etc… that you do on desktop version, it’s just a little cramped visually. But it works. This is a huge upgrade and I did not encounter any issues with it. I have done a bunch of live Yahoo drafts so I was basically familiar with the layout, but I found the draft part of the app intuitive to use on top of it.

Improved interface, solid!
by Songfta on 2015/05/15 03:51
This app complements the web version of Yahoo Fantasy leagues very well. The interface is intuitive, the app is stable and solid. Also integrates well with the Yahoo Sports app - a nice bonus.

This app makes u have to find a pc to really keep up with the action!

by pnanninga on 2015/05/06 04:06
How is it 2015 and worthless yahoo still doesn't offer an app for college football picks.

Needs "research" features and "transaction trends". Player notes only work about 1/2 the time which renders it useless for me.

Used to work great until the last update, can't get player updates or stats to load. Not the only person with this problem.

by HouseofStu on 2015/05/01 03:31
I'd give this a 5 if it finally somehow integrated start tracker into the app. How are we STILL not there yet with this app?!?

Just needs a watch list.
Pick'em
by STLSCOTT on 2015/04/30 23:28
Why is the League Pick'em missing from the app? Leagues use this to encourage people to get their lineups in for a side game in the league. Please add it.

Would rate it a 4-5 star otherwise.

by Hate espn apps now on 2015/04/27 19:02
Constantly lagging. Won't load owner info or player stats with 4 bars and/or perfect wi-fi. Typical half-assssed stuff from yahoo.

Great!!!

by Mrrags on 2015/04/19 04:00
Unfortunately, the app is limited in what it can do. I use it for baseball. For one, it's very limited in any kind of instructions. I have wasted a lot of time trying to figure out how to do things. Not good! I still don't know how to pre-set draft rankings. I don't even know if it can be done. I asked the other members of my league and none of them knew either.
