Easy to get on but maze to cancel. Want to cancel and don’t know if it happened. That’s why I don’t like these sites with free trial. Misleading. I canceled Dropbox on this. Date don’t know why it was sent to me by a client. I’ll never pay for a service like this. Pure bs.

Agree functionality is poorer now on dropbox personal than before after updates to dropbox and/or ios on ipad pro. Long wait times for attachments to emails. Hangups. Clunks. Have used as my primary storage/synch app for some time. Recent problems are perhaps dropbox tactic to drive upgrades. I may have to switch, as there are certainly other options that I already pay for.

I've been a paying Dropbox customer for years and use Dropbox for my personal use and my music business. About 6 months ago a company I was working for sent me an invite to Dropbox to share files and join the team. The company did not like DP's service, so cancelled their business account and along with it - Dropbox locked me out of my personal account. I emailed support asking for them to give back me access to my personal account, which I had been using for many years separately from the business account I had joined. Support informed me they are unable to do so without permission to reactivate account from the business admin of the group I joined. My admin immediately emailed them to approve the reactivation, upon which DP said they can no longer reactivate my personal account due to the fact that the business account was deactivated over 30 days ago. I am completely livid - I have lost thousands of dollars in potential music licensing because my only access to my files were through dropbox. I cannot understand how my personal account, with extremely important files on it, that I've had AND PAID FOR now for many years would get deleted and deactivated just because an outside business group had decided to share files with me. I even paid for a year in advance and am paying for my account to not work!!! Customer service has not been helpful at all and I need a solution ASAP.
Fails to work after latest update

Worked fine until the update 2 days ago. Now files will not open regardless if they are Excel, Word or PDF. Also doesn’t matter if connected to wi-fi or not. Please fix!

Dropbox updated the app for IOS (iPhone and iPad) yesterday (2/13/2019) and since then I have been unable to access my files in MS Excel or MS Word. Many other users have had this problem according to the forums. I’ve used Dropbox for several years to all of a sudden lose access... and with no answers from Dropbox.

I have updated all apps and software as of yesterday, and getting an error message “cannot open file. Office cannot file. It may have been deleted or moved” I’ve lost all ability to use my Dropbox features in Excel and Word.

I used Dropbox for several years. But time by time I started to be disappointed. Firstly I have to pay 1TB Plan and I’m not using 80% of it. Secondly Background Upload is not working! I have in queue 22,000 photos and more waiting to upload in Dropbox. This happened cause app doesn’t work properly. I tried everything, to reinstall the app, etc., but it doesn’t work. Dropbox, please make at least 3 different Plans, cause I don’t want to pay for something I don’t use. And make sure you fix Background Upload. Many friends of mine left Dropbox cause of this. If you don’t fix it, I’ll have to leave Dropbox too. And If I get comfortable to another platform don’t think that I’ll be back. “If you don’t listen to your customers, someone else will” Thank you.

On my iPad and iPhone I can no longer open excel files stored in Dropbox. Excel still works for work files stored in OneDrive, but not my personal files stored in Dropbox. Other than today I really like Dropbox.

Every since the system update I cannot access my two Dropbox accounts via Microsoft apps (work and excel). I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox and made sure I didnt have a passcode on. BUT nothing is working - which makes it useless!! Help - any other ideas on how t fix this (I deinstalled Dropbox from the Microsoft apps and tried to reinstall it but I keep getting a “No network connection Please check your internet connection and network settings and try again” - which is bull because my internet is fine. HELP!

Dear PMs of Dropbox, why does it take me hours to figure out how to get a video on Dropbox onto Instagram?? It’s a dark UI where you make it intentionally hard to use other products and you’re just keeping your content inside the black hole of your app. Make integration with other apps easier!!

I opened a text file and was writing some important stuff, then I opened a PDF file & took me to Dropbox alp, opened the document & my unsaved text file was gone poooph disappeared. Now i have to re write all over. This is outrageous.

I have had Apple rep try to help me contact you about my account which is really not my account, but that of my deceased husband. You have NO phone contact to talk to anyone. You want me to send you message, but only under my husbands email address and password which I do not have since he did not share them with me prior to his death. I tried for 3 hours To get the information to you to cancel this account to no Avail. I was finally advised to call my bank and put a stop Payment to your yearly bill. Perhaps then you would contact me to properly cancel this account. I really do not know if all The information presently in his account will be canceled along with this stop payment. I am hoping it will not. Your emails are signed the Dropbox team, but you do not want to talk to me.

I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.

I have never reviewed any apps before but I am fuming, and just want to warn everyone about this app. I had years worth of photos entrusted to Dropbox but they decided that I don't need those photos anymore and just deleted all of them! Tech support can't retrieve the files anymore and all they can say is sorry for the inconvenience?!? Take my advice, delete Dropbox and just download Photobox, I haven't accessed my account in years but lo and behold my photos are still there.

Now this isn’t anything major but I just want to point it out. So I use this app a lot but after a few days of importing and exporting files, when I click export it says exporting but doesn’t seem to make any progress. So I wait a little while and it still didn’t change. Please fix soon. Thx

Have to give this one star because they insist that apps **cannot** be made to work with Files unless you turn off passcode lock. Nonsense. Resilience Sync does it just fine. Fix this very basic feature so I can secure my documents, or your app is useless to me. Also: the ability to email a file, rather than a link to a file, is important to me as well. Oh well. Off to the competition....

I can no longer easily save or access files on mobile. I just get the spinning wheel. I can’t save files or easily upload them. I’ve tried clearing the cachet the app, deleting the app and restarting my phone, redownloaded it and the same problem presents itself. I use dropbox for work and this past month has been one headache after another. Taking my business, and my corporate business, to a competitor’s cloud service. Sick of all the bugs!

I used to use Dropbox as my primary cloud backup service until I got better deals from it’s competitors. Today, I received an email giving me 200Mb, which reminded me of using Dropbox. I used it today, and noticed that it has not improved, and has in fact, in my opinion, gotten worse. It still has limitations it’s competitors do not have on both Android and iOS(iPhone). File management needs improvement. Speeds are not what used to either. Dropbox used to be the leader in cloud storage. One Drive and Google Drive offer more for less. Mega is better for privacy minded individuals.

there should be a way to save multiple photos to your phone camera roll at a time. it’s takes too long to save each photo one at a time. otherwise, it’s great. transfers media from my phone to computer instantly, and vice versa.

This app appears to be impossible to unsubscribe from. I have been trying since the day I downloaded it thanks to a soccer coach putting all of my kids pics in this. I’ve googled how to unsubscribe, emailed the company, deleted my account etc. yet my App Store thing claims I’m subscribed and wants me to pay these people $10 for a folder of junk.

Dropbox is easy to use, secure as it gets, and makes cloud storage and collaboration a breeze. I love how easy it is to switch between personal and the Dropbox Business team my work uses, all within the app. My only complaint is that I can’t give it more than 5 stars!!!

This product works and works very well. My favorite feature is the scan to PDF and save. I had a hard time keeping track of receipts. This takes the headache out of it. As soon as I get a receipt, I scan it and store it. No more lost receipts! I can then access them from my desktop and phone. I highly recommend this app.

Well I’m new to Dropbox and I can’t seem to get it going? Got a new HP laptop for Xmas so I get 25 FB free but they keep emailing me to claim my freebie and I click on let’s get started and I have a few files there but they keep saying I have to complete my set up? What do I do or what am I not doing? I’m so confused? I want all my patterns and recipes in Dropbox but don’t know how! Poor instruction for someone not so savvy with apps.

Dropbox is painfully slow or not working at all for exporting pics and video to the camera roll. I can’t even open a .txt file with minimal text. So lame. I rely on this app and pay $120 a year for this service that doesn’t work. Time to switch to another service.

I’m a long term user of Dropbox, primarily online & desktop. I’ve used the app for some years now, but recently the app has been bugging out more and more. It’s so frustrating & ends up taking 10X the amount of time it typically would with a working app. Dropbox App used to be my go to, I especially loved the scan feature. So useful- all in one. Now if I’m trying to scan documents/receipts, I need to plan on the app getting stuck in a forever “pinwheel” stage or crashing. Sometimes when I’m just near the end of my last item to process - BOOM. Back at square one. Please fix this!

Well, was a member of Apple cloud storage and charged me $1/month. Stored some files and then forgot all about it. Never used the facility for a long time. One day finally tried to look at the stored files, but couldn’t. Went to kcal Apple outlet for help. They tried but couldn’t find my files. So much for their storage service. But they continued to charge my card for their no service job. Then decided to cancel their service but couldn’t. Finally, to stop them for no service charge had to cancel my credit card. What a service?

Dropbox is great. It has saved me time and energy with storage and accessibility. I would however suggest adding a feature for stylus writing to the app so I can write on my uploads, not just type. My semester is starting soon and I'm realizing this would be a life saver if I could free hand write on the app. Add this feature and I'll definitely consider 5 stars.

Scan function is pretty bad when compared to scannable, etc. Keeps asking me to sign with Adobe first before Dropbox option which is counterintuitive -- Bumped it up a star because there is offline folder capability — As of 1-15-19 I really want to like Dropbox but the ‘live stream’ of my ever changing files is not visually appealing to me.

The existence of this app on my phone makes it impossible to view zip files shared with me by others. The link opens in the app, which cannot view images in zip files. If the app is uninstalled, the link works fine and the images can be viewed in the browser.

I’ve been trying to get into a shared work file for hours now. I finally (after restarting my tech, deleting and reinstalling the app) tried to email customer service. I am told that someone will email me in a few days. Wow. I’ve paid for the upgrade, but I still only have 2GB of space, and therefore cannot access my work files. Terrible customer service when you’re paying for the app, and crickets 🦗.

I think the app is useful. However expensive and not user friendly. For example when trying to downgrade from paid to free it doesn’t appear to be possible. So please don’t provide instructions for actions which appear not. The F Bard.

This application has greatly improved since my last review. The only thing I would change currently is the new photo tweak which is just useless bloat. The software can not be a Swiss Army knife without becoming cumbersome. I would focus on more obvious improvements instead.
Great app takes forever

When it takes 24 hours to upload a 15 minute video that’s a little ridiculous. Uploading takes forever. And it shouldn’t. Update: cancelled my subscription. Nothing will upload anymore. Waited 2 days to upload a 10 minute video and it couldn’t upload. Not Going to pay for something that can’t do what it says. Please contact me when you fix the app.

I tried to open a file and it says that I needed to go to a different format. So I sent it to my email address and opened it their, only to have it say that I need the Dropbox app to open this file. Of course I already have the app so the circle your wagons for nothing is frustrating.

Files are taking way to much time to load since the last update. Have to close and reopen the app multiple times for it to load files. Even some of the offline files don’t want to load. Please look into this issue.

Signed up for “free trial” through an in-game offer. Trial only valid upon input if credit card. If you don’t manually cancel, you are automatically charged for a year at $750.00! 2019 Update: STOP harassing me to upgrade—apparently $99 per year isn’t enough for you greedy developers! Getting sick and tired of being constantly pestered to upgrade to a business account on the app, on the web, and on my MacBook (“save 20 GB space...”). Pandora did that and they lost my business. Stop it! Previous Review: Have been a premium Dropbox customer for many years; and overall relatively pleased. However, I don’t entirely trust it with my precious photos taken over the years. Also, please provide support for Live Photos, save my EDITED photo (not original) or both; and lastly, allow us to view smooth videos. These implements will bring my rating back up to a 5.

It’s been 5 days since I downloaded this app , and as soon as I downloaded it I started to upload all my pictures (350 pics) well we are now on our 5th day and everything is still uploading , so it uploads 2 pics per day . Which is RIDICULOUS!!! And I can’t be on the app for more than 6 seconds because it shuts down and takes me back to my home screen . !!! This is by far the WORST APP EVER !!!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!

Generally, this app works amazing, thank you so much for all the great work! HOWEVER! Suddenly, files will not load/open for me. It happened a couple days ago when I went to check, and I dismissed it. Now its not happening again. As someone who uses their iPad as their computer, this is a huge problem!! Please fix!!!!

The Dropbox app has never worked well for me. The latest glitch is the search function simply failing. The one good thing is being able to play videos directly from the app/site, which does seem like a legit differentiator. Other than that, I prefer Dropbox’s competitors in almost every way.

Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.

I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.

Dropbox is good but one problem i have with it is that when you upload photos, it jumbles them all up so there is no order and I can never find photos I am looking for. It also takes FOREVER to upload videos, like over a week until it’s pointless to try. And i wish to export or delete there was a “select” option for group exports/deletes of photos.

Too many distractions

I use Dropbox and will continue to use it but I’m sick and tired of the popups that interrupt my flow when I’m working. This app constantly shoves notes in my face about what I can do when I’ve seen these boots hundreds of times. There’s no way to turn them off so they just keep adding extra time to what I’m doing dropping my efficiency. I don’t care to be pestered all the time by something I pay for. Stop distracting me from work.

The recent update has rendered all of my PDF files useless. I cannot open anything on the iOS version of drop box for iPad. I know it is syncing because new folders that are made on my desktop is reflected in the app. However, when I open ANY PDF files, I get a picture of a cat on a box with “error loading the file”. I really need this to work. I am currently using the iCloud Drive to access my Dropbox and bypass this stupid error in the mean time. PLEASE FIX!!!!

I've been a paying Dropbox customer for years and use Dropbox for my personal use and my music business. About 6 months ago a company I was working for sent me an invite to Dropbox to share files and join the team. The company did not like DP's service, so cancelled their business account and along with it - Dropbox locked me out of my personal account. I emailed support asking for them to give back me access to my personal account, which I had been using for many years separately from the business account I had joined. Support informed me they are unable to do so without permission to reactivate account from the business admin of the group I joined. My admin immediately emailed them to approve the reactivation, upon which DP said they can no longer reactivate my personal account due to the fact that the business account was deactivated over 30 days ago. I am completely livid - I have lost thousands of dollars in potential music licensing because my only access to my files were through dropbox. I cannot understand how my personal account, with extremely important files on it, that I've had AND PAID FOR now for many years would get deleted and deactivated just because an outside business group had decided to share files with me. I even paid for a year in advance and am paying for my account to not work!!! Customer service has not been helpful at all and I need a solution ASAP.

After the recent update, DropBox stopped working properly for camera-roll upload on my iPad. Their solution? Remove the app, forget the network, fully restart the iPad, re-connect to the network, and re-install the app. Seriously? Good thing I have nothing else to do ... oh, wait. Basement flooded. So yeah, I have something else to do that's rather urgent. Good news is that yes, this did in fact resolve the issue, but really, I have other things to do in my life than reset apps with updates that fail. Especially when paying $75/month for the business version. For $75 a month I expect a MUCH better UI, amazing support, in-file search (not just the file titles), and so much more. Instead, we get the un/re-install merry-go-round, an ok UI, low-availability support (US normal business hours only), and an amazingly klugey sync setup. Heaven help you if your Mac has an external drive. What happens when you get a new Mac? It downloads everything from Dropbox again, even though all I did was remove the USB plug from the old machine to the new. Good job, Dropbox. Well done. Now I gotta wait for 4T of data to re-synch. Their super awesome support response? Well, we told you external drives might not work as expected. I’m totally looking for another service. Seriously, $900 a year for this? I feel like an idiot for locking myself into this “service”.
Great except keeps losing recent files

99% of the time when I used this app, it is to do something with one of the three or four files I have most recently edited. For some reason this app keeps losing track of those, which makes it take much longer to use. Last time it was because they forced dropbox paper towns artificially find a recent list, this time the paper staff is back again and all my recent files have disappeared. There is no option to remove the paper spam from the recent list. For bonus points they say it’s easy to contact them if you have problems about the app. It isn’t. When I finally found a way, their support page doesn’t work; it won’t let me choose a device and therefore won’t let submit a ticket. This is of course on my iPhone, the same device the app is running on, using safari, the default and dominant browser. Ridiculous.

Hello, I just wanted to say that Dropbox is actually a really great place to store Office files, sorry if I was harsh earlier. I wouldn’t trust it with all of your files, because I’ve had a lot of issues with the iWork things and all that. The app itself works fine this way. Just wanted to say that. Suggestions: -Maybe we can do a one-time payment for a little extra storage? Like pay $1 for 2 extra gigs. I would definitely pay a few dollars for that. -Support for Apple files. As I’m writing this, there’s no way to edit Pages/Numbers/Keynote files from Dropbox. I use Pages a lot and so do a lot of other people, so you need to add support for those. -Once, I opened the Dropbox app and found that it wouldn’t let me create any Office files. (Like when I clicked “new file,” the option for creating Office files wasn’t there.) I signed out of Dropbox and tried to sign back in, but it said “there was an error” when I tried to sign in even though I got the sign-in info correct! This wasn’t a huge deal since I was able to log back in a half hour later with the create files feature back, but you might want to make sure it doesn’t happen again. -PowerPoint files take FOREVER to load up! (At least for me they do.) Please make it quicker. Thank you for reading!!!

Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.

I’ve had this app for a while now. They promise to keep all your pictures safe “NO MATTER WHAT” which is all a lie! Let’s say u lose access to the account for a bit so you are inactive with it. Well without them even asking for your permission, they decide to erase your account and all the pictures you saved with it!! I completely believed them like an idiot and deleted my pictures and gave it to them so they can “KEEP IT SAFE” and without even consulting me or thinking about the fact that I have important pictures and things I actually wanted them to keep safe, they just erase and pretend like nothing ever happened. I completely do not recommend this app!! PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! GET EVERALBUM OR EVEN GOOGLE PICTURES BUT DO NOT USE THIS!!!

After looking down the long list of seriously bad recent reviews, I’m NOT doing the latest upgrade (operating under the theory “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”). What I’m using now, while far from perfect, is adequate; I don’t have to wrestle constantly with the software, and I know what workarounds I need to employ to get ‘er done, so…its not a perfect world, but no new surprises. I already knew their customer support was nonexistent; I have a “story” of my own. I hope someone sues them for false advertising (for claiming they have customer support). I’d say it’s possible to win that in a court of law: if someone pays for a product and substantially relies on the written description of something (“we have customer service available to serve you,” or whatever is written), there’s a case to be made if the person or business incurred a provable loss due to that reliance. Hmmm… 🤔 Dropbox appears to have gone the way of so many apps - it’s all about the Benjamin’s (as opposed to quality, reliable customer support). But, of course, the less peeps employed, the better the bottom line looks. I noticed, however, that their marketing department must be working overtime. How a 4.7 star rating is possible with as many really bad (recent) reviews is absolutely beyond me. Of course, no one would ever skew the review numbers to make an app look more attractive, would they? 🙄
Picture & Video upload is broken

Picture & video upload now constantly crashes. Very slow upload when it does work. Refuses to upload when the battery is low (even if its plugged in and currently charging!) If I have low battery don't you think it would be IMPORTANT to be able to upload/backup what I can before it dies?!? At the very least they should be an option that says 'continue anyway'. And if the phone is already charging I don't see why that matters? I can't upload a SINGLE picture? Really? Why does dropbox decide when I can or can't upload pics? This used to be a great app but recently it's falling apart. The media player is missing many desired features like fast forward/rewind 15 seconds, etc. Please fix the app! I've been a long time customer but I'm finding more frustrations than conveniences. Please fix the pic and video upload! App constantly locks up and crashes.

Oh my gosh! I was having a difficult time logging in on my desktop - trying to remember my password and it wouldn’t let me in. I figured I’ll just continue to use the app on my phone, until I saw the “Connect A Computer” button. I pressed it and in a matter of seconds (I’d say less than 45secs) I was able to get into my account on my desktop computer. It was just three easy steps! I’ve been using Dropbox for almost 8 years and thought it was good but nothing outstanding enough to write a review until now. I just hate the little badge icon that appears on a document when saved in Dropbox. I hide it but it comes back... All good tho!

What can I say about an app that gives me access to everything I have from my cell phone- simple intuitive fail-free. The biggest tech mistake of my life was switching briefly to another service which lost my data and treated my like dirt when I asked for help. There are few things I’d like Dropbox to change but they aren’t specific to the app. The only app bug I’d like to see changed is the folder size limit which does not apply to desktop versions. it has been an inconvenience to break up one of my large folders, but still worth it to have my whole life with me anytime anywhere.

The scan feature has been really nice but one thing has driven me crazy. Using a phone, how hard is it to zoom into the document or receipt you are trying to capture? Not really that hard!! I personally don’t mind if i have a piece of the surface the doc is sitting on captured with the image. What drives me crazy, however, is ALWAYS having to adjust the image to actually capture what i intended to. The success of the auto detect feature is less than 50% for me and that’s only because I’ve gotten better at tricking it. Long story short, please Dropbox, at least have an option to disable the auto detect feature. I keep thinking this is going to fixed with updates but it hasn’t.
Saving Offline

I’m wanting to make a certain folder in my Dropbox available offline. But I need to make sure before I do so. That the contents of this folder that I’m wanting to make offline to view whenever with data or not.. that it won’t be automatically updated into my iPhone camera roll. Or put into a folder in my iOS camera roll. That would be BAD... very very BAD. so that’s my concern. I need to make sure that these sensitive confidential files won’t be seen ANYWHERE else except offline in the Dropbox app. And not in my personal camera roll. Please advise. Respectfully, Dropbox 1TB user. :)

Reply to the Developer Response: The Developer’s reply discussed automatic photo upload. However, I was not talking about automatic upload and did not use the term. I have modified my review to clarify. —- Review —- When manually selecting photos for upload from an iOS device, Dropbox is shows an iOS Moments view of iOS photos. Dropbox calls this “Camera Roll” even though it does not match the iOS Camera Roll. Worse, Dropbox does not offer a way to select photos for upload using a view that’s in iOS Camera Roll order. You have to remember the date you took a photo or do a whole lot of scrolling if you have more than just a handful of photos (scrolling because of the screen space wasted by an iOS Moments view). This is a not user-friendly approach. This is not the only usability issue I have with Dropbox and I use Dropbox less than I would like because of these. However, it still remains somewhat useful to me so I gave it three stars for the somewhat usefulness.

Having this Dropbox App is a great way to have accessto your (Dropbox) cloud documents; specially since it integrates with the built in Files app. It's also a great way to upload things to your Dropbox account. Starting out with 2GB of free data is pretty silly in this day and age, but that describes the service, not the app. What I do find ridiculous about the app is that a simple feature like "Make available offline" is hidden behind a paywall. Really? I need to pay to maintain files on my device so I don't have to constantly use up your service's bandwidth whenever trying to open such files? Just ridiculous..

Hi, I have had an amazing experience with the app for iPad. I use Dropbox to save my photos and videos, my memories. Camera load is very useful. I have one suggestion: the option to sort files by creation time is not available. It is possible to sort them by modification time, but is not the same. It would be awesome to have that option available, because I will be able to see my photos and videos in a chronological order. Me and my family will be very happy if this option comes true. Greeting an keep up with the good work.

About a year ago I tried to use Dropbox for photo and video backup from my iPhone so I could clear up some space....It was so slow it was useless. I literally had to upload 1 file at a time or it flat out would not work. Fast forward to today. It's the exact same thing. I've been trying to backup 64 files (videos less than 60 seconds long shot on my iPhone 5) and it's exactly the same thing. To make sure it wasn't my connection I sent a 1.5 gig file to a client via WeTranfer to test and it only took about 20 minutes. On the laptop I have no problems but the iPhone app just doesn't cut it.

I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.

BEWARE! I cancelled my trial, the App Store tried to charge me a week before trial was up, then continued trying to charge me,fortunately I had removed my credit card before that because App Store said my valid card wasn’t valid, obvious App Store problem. Way to go Apple! Dropbox sends emails you can’t reply to, and there is no way to contact them thru app or website, I’d rate ZERO stars if I could, how are users supposed to get support? Reading other reviews, apparently there is none, that’s a major FAIL!!! I suppose the app works ok if you have access to high speed internet or work with tiny files, but if you don’t or are limited to a cell connection it’s pointless if working with large video files.

2019 Update: STOP harassing me to upgrade—apparently $99 per year isn’t enough for you greedy developers! Getting sick and tired of being constantly pestered to upgrade to a business account on the app, on the web, and on my MacBook (“save 20 GB space...”). Pandora did that and they lost my business. Stop it! Previous Review: Have been a premium Dropbox customer for many years; and overall relatively pleased. However, I don’t entirely trust it with my precious photos taken over the years. Also, please provide support for Live Photos, save my EDITED photo (not original) or both; and lastly, allow us to view smooth videos. These implements will bring my rating back up to a 5.

I use Dropbox for numerous things online, both business related and personal. In all circumstances I need to be able to interact with people on shared documents and the most recent update has made that impossible for some reason on my iPad. I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem so it should probably be fixed right away. If not people like me will have to find other programs to use. That aside, before the problem occurred Dropbox was my go to on all of my devices. I sincerely hope this problem gets fixed.

Always there, online, offline, moving documents from one platform to another, Dropbox is your quick, easy, no fuss solution. It’s one of the cleanest layouts ever created (in my opinion). I would defiantly suggest giving Dropbox a try for anyone going to school or working in business. Other platforms exist such as google docs, or Microsoft office, which I also use, but Dropbox has them beat in speed of upload and download, and loading of page, AND ease of navigation.

I have been using Dropbox as a tool to exchange files between my iPhone, 2 ipads, and several windows PCs. When I encounter errors, the messages are very ambiguous. Often the message is followed by a “try again” phrase. Trying again has never worked without doing additional research and changing the operation. Often the change involves using an alternate ‘cloud’ and it’s tools. The only support tool that seems to work is the the ‘community’, but this is normally very high level and cluttered with noise. It requires a lot of time in searching and reading that rarely returns a helpful answer.

I downloaded drop box on an old phone almost 2 years ago(when it was free), got a file sent to me, never used it again, got a whole new phone and forgot about it, I just noticed on my credit card bill about 5 months ago I got upgraded without my knowledge and have been paying 10 dollars a month and now Dropbox is like “oh I’m sorry We have nothing to do with that it’s the Apple store” and I’ve been trying to get my money back for a month and there is no way to get a hold of anyone because it’s such a big company they can just take your money and you’re forced to deal with it. Not cool at all. I even cancelled and it still took my money this month, AGAIN.

I’ve really enjoyed Dropbox. It makes accessing my files across multiple devices so easy. After the most recent update I’m no longer able to attach files to emails through the “attachment” option in the mail app on my phone. Not everyone has a Dropbox account and I hate sending links to the files as it seems unprofessional to me. I’ve looked into it and it seems many people have experienced this issue. I hope it is resolved soon.

The App has a major bug since iOS 12 - I cannot access any file from the App but I can access same file using mobile safari. I have been emailing customer support for past 2 months and keep getting canned and useless responses. I also tried to escalate to Drew Houston, CEO of Dropbox but I don’t think he cares. I will be writing about this bad experience on other social platforms as well. I have been a shareholder as well but given how bad their general approach towards customers is, I will be selling my shares as well.

I have been trying to download a file from a paid account to my unpaid account. I am unable to download any files from my Dropbox account to the local storage on my device. This gets one star until Dropbox realizes its existential purpose if transferring files from one computer to another computer and not one account to another account. Review of paid trial version. Now I am not able to select more then one file. I have the option of downloading a file but that’s not that helpful to me if I need to download gigs of content for work. Additionally it limits the file size you are able to download to something between 50 and 100 megabytes. That what.. a minute of 1080 video? Why do I not have the option of downloading an entire folder of content. I am willing to pay for the Dropbox experience I had in 2012. I am frustrated when the basic law of modern economics that things get better and cheaper over time is rolled backwards by greedy present hedonistic executives.

Of the few paid cloud services that I suscribe to, Dropbox would be the first one that I would close. Fewer returns for the buck. The cloud service is clunky and counterintuitive, inc. it’s search engine. Uploading and managing files, as compared to other services is a chore. They haven’t upgraded the available storage space in years (1 Tb). It continues to be great, for what most of us signed-up for, to begin with— sharing docs with others, and for syncing frequently used files/folders in our hard-drives. But this is now also possible w other cloud providers.

it’s a good app, it’s very useful when i broke my screen and needed to upload about 3000 photos off my phone but a huge issue is that when i need to download them all BACK on my phone, i have to go and redownload EVERY individual photo. i don’t have time for that !! they need to add a feature where you can select multiple and export them to camera roll all at once and/or select a folder(s) that you can download to camera roll bc it’s so annoying to redownload every picture/video individually. PLEASE FIX THIS

Dropbox keeps me well organized with all types of data by allowing me to sort them out into files & folders. It also allows me to share with others selected data, files, folders or all of it and even to allow others to make changes to selected or all data. Furthermore it allows one to share large files & folders. Dropbox is just AWESOME! I can’t wait for the next improvements to come by!

I have been using Dropbox for years and love that it is accessible through an app for IOS. I am having a major problem, however, which may be a deal breaker. I am unable to find a way to export multiple files to a device at once. Currently, I have to save each file separately, and when dealing with hundreds, or thousands of files, this is just not practical by any means. I will gladly change my review if this fault is truly user error, but I have found many others with the same complaint.

Amazing app that does a very nice job and helps with workflow tremendously. I wish it had two features: 1) the ability to choose which app to open files in directly from Dropbox (like pdf expert instead of just adobe) 2) syncing / comparability with Microsoft word so that when you make a file available offline in Dropbox you can open it from Dropbox in Word without internet.

I’m a long term user of Dropbox, primarily online & desktop. I’ve used the app for some years now, but recently the app has been bugging out more and more. It’s so frustrating & ends up taking 10X the amount of time it typically would with a working app. Dropbox App used to be my go to, I especially loved the scan feature. So useful- all in one. Now if I’m trying to scan documents/receipts, I need to plan on the app getting stuck in a forever “pinwheel” stage or crashing. Sometimes when I’m just near the end of my last item to process - BOOM. Back at square one. Please fix this!

Using Dropbox has helped me in keeping everything in a safe and easy to use platform space. My favorite feature is the ability to scan an upload documents just by taking a picture of it. So far, so good! I would recommend others to give it a try so they can appreciate the advanced technological features and a stress free tool that’s easy to learn how to use.

Everything with Dropbox is cool but whenever I want to share a photo from gallery or a pdf there’s a big problem that I can’t just use “share via” cuz when I select Dropbox I have to assign an email address to share the link with. It can’t just upload something directly to Dropbox without sharing. And another problem is that I can’t share a file directly from Dropbox; I just have to send the link

Our office has a business account w/ 5TB storage. Dropbox app on my Iphone X (w/iOS 12.1) was virtually useless for about a month. It continually froze & crashed. The latest update seems to have fixed the problem. My hope is the developers will do a better job of vetting & testing their updates, before releasing them to the public. If that means releasing fewer or less-frequent updates, so be it. What good is constant tweaking if you jeopardize the reliability of your product?

Usually this app works seamlessly but lately has been giving me issues with saving files. When I try to save (or export) an image to my phone, it starts the process but then the “exporting” pop up doesn’t go away and I can’t continue to browse photos because the pop up blocks it. I can only continue using the app after I close out completely then I have to go scroll back to where I was. It’s a bit of an inconvenience to have to close down the app after every photo I view/save.

Most of my files are missing... no indication of them being updated or syncing or a data wheel turning... just says folder is empty.... been waiting four hours now no files... is quality control just an out dated concept? Where are my files? Update: now photo uploads stall after 2 photos. Rebooting the phone gives the ability to load 2 more before stalling again Update: for some reason the developers have decided to get rid of the refresh function. So when the app bombs out there is no way to refresh the view… Why would you eliminate the refresh function?

What’s happened to DropBox? Was a super reliable app. In the last month it now constantly freezes and crashes on my iPad, iPhone X and iPhone 6s so much so that I can’t use the app any longer. I have a pro business account and have use DB for 5 years and loved it and rated it 5 stars. Now it is completely broken and unusable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and also done all the Apple updates on all three of my devices and it still constantly freezes and crashes. I have quit using it. Please, please fix. This is very unlike DropBox.

Now this app itself is amazing. I have been able to use it to listen to music offline, and not have to pay for any subscription service. This honestly earns it 4.5 stars in my opinion, but sadly I can’t rate it as that. The only thing I can think of that I have a problem with is that when you are listening to audio clips, there is no button available to loop the sound. Otherwise, absolutely amazing!

If I’m paying I thought i was suppose to see some type of upgrade besides more space... I can only upload one file at a time. Save photos and videos from my dropbox one at a time. It takes all day to load and if you leave the app for even a second the upload that was happening will stop and start over again. Also the duplicating feature again when you leave the app and leave the uploaded material unattended it will either delete or make a double of itself. This is immensely frustrating!

What if I don’t change locations? Why should it matter for uploading? Why do you need location? Why arbitrarily choose to not upload large files? I expect background sync to work fully for everything otherwise I need another solution and one that doesn’t use 25% of my battery!

I don’t appreciate this on bit - with memory still left you can NOT add unless you buy more storage space. This is deceitful in my opinion. Suggest going to Google drive or somewhere else before spending your money with these characters. You guys need to add better features for audio files. I want to be able to have a section for my downloaded audio files and be able to play the song on repeat for that one song and be able to skip to the next song as well. It’s very limited and annoying that I have to swipe up every time and press play once the track has finished so it can replay again.

The features are hidden so you have to click all over to try and find what you’re looking for. Once you upload files and create a folder to put the files in, it doesn’t let you add files to folders. You have to start the whole process all over. It restricts you to only sharing once a day, but they have the system rigged to tell you that you exceded the once a day limit when you haven’t shared anything at all today. If, I’m able to share this file today, I’ll never deal with this junk again. I’ll keep using the wetransfer website.

NEED A MEDIA PLAYER!!! Keeps playing whatever song I was playing last at random times, even after killing the app. Has also been doing a lot of freezing and restarting. Maybe if you had a media player.... Otherwise app is an absolute life saver. Being able to coordinate large files with others and send links in a snap is fundamental to my professional existence.

I had a Dropbox account for a couple years. I haven’t used it recently and have not gotten the emails saying they were going to close my account. They literally will not let me sign into my account with MY pictures and the email said they have been deleted? Are you kidding me. These are my pictures. They are my memories. I’m sorry I don’t go on the app daily but they were nice to look back on every once in a while. Now my account no longer exists and my pictures are deleted. Who tf thought that was okay to delete peoples pictures. I’m mad. I want my pictures back!!!!

Agree functionality is poorer now on dropbox personal than before after updates to dropbox and/or ios on ipad pro. Long wait times for attachments to emails. Hangups. Clunks. Have used as my primary storage/synch app for some time. Recent problems are perhaps dropbox tactic to drive upgrades. I may have to switch, as there are certainly other options that I already pay for.

I've been a paying Dropbox customer for years and use Dropbox for my personal use and my music business. About 6 months ago a company I was working for sent me an invite to Dropbox to share files and join the team. The company did not like DP's service, so cancelled their business account and along with it - Dropbox locked me out of my personal account. I emailed support asking for them to give back me access to my personal account, which I had been using for many years separately from the business account I had joined. Support informed me they are unable to do so without permission to reactivate account from the business admin of the group I joined. My admin immediately emailed them to approve the reactivation, upon which DP said they can no longer reactivate my personal account due to the fact that the business account was deactivated over 30 days ago. I am completely livid - I have lost thousands of dollars in potential music licensing because my only access to my files were through dropbox. I cannot understand how my personal account, with extremely important files on it, that I've had AND PAID FOR now for many years would get deleted and deactivated just because an outside business group had decided to share files with me. I even paid for a year in advance and am paying for my account to not work!!! Customer service has not been helpful at all and I need a solution ASAP.

I used Dropbox for several years. But time by time I started to be disappointed. Firstly I have to pay 1TB Plan and I’m not using 80% of it. Secondly Background Upload is not working! I have in queue 22,000 photos and more waiting to upload in Dropbox. This happened cause app doesn’t work properly. I tried everything, to reinstall the app, etc., but it doesn’t work. Dropbox, please make at least 3 different Plans, cause I don’t want to pay for something I don’t use. And make sure you fix Background Upload. Many friends of mine left Dropbox cause of this. If you don’t fix it, I’ll have to leave Dropbox too. And If I get comfortable to another platform don’t think that I’ll be back. “If you don’t listen to your customers, someone else will” Thank you.

On my iPad and iPhone I can no longer open excel files stored in Dropbox. Excel still works for work files stored in OneDrive, but not my personal files stored in Dropbox. Other than today I really like Dropbox.

Every since the system update I cannot access my two Dropbox accounts via Microsoft apps (work and excel). I have cleared the cache, uninstalled and reinstalled Dropbox and made sure I didnt have a passcode on. BUT nothing is working - which makes it useless!! Help - any other ideas on how t fix this (I deinstalled Dropbox from the Microsoft apps and tried to reinstall it but I keep getting a “No network connection Please check your internet connection and network settings and try again” - which is bull because my internet is fine. HELP!

Dear PMs of Dropbox, why does it take me hours to figure out how to get a video on Dropbox onto Instagram?? It’s a dark UI where you make it intentionally hard to use other products and you’re just keeping your content inside the black hole of your app. Make integration with other apps easier!!

I have had Apple rep try to help me contact you about my account which is really not my account, but that of my deceased husband. You have NO phone contact to talk to anyone. You want me to send you message, but only under my husbands email address and password which I do not have since he did not share them with me prior to his death. I tried for 3 hours To get the information to you to cancel this account to no Avail. I was finally advised to call my bank and put a stop Payment to your yearly bill. Perhaps then you would contact me to properly cancel this account. I really do not know if all The information presently in his account will be canceled along with this stop payment. I am hoping it will not. Your emails are signed the Dropbox team, but you do not want to talk to me.

I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.

I have never reviewed any apps before but I am fuming, and just want to warn everyone about this app. I had years worth of photos entrusted to Dropbox but they decided that I don't need those photos anymore and just deleted all of them! Tech support can't retrieve the files anymore and all they can say is sorry for the inconvenience?!? Take my advice, delete Dropbox and just download Photobox, I haven't accessed my account in years but lo and behold my photos are still there.

Have to give this one star because they insist that apps **cannot** be made to work with Files unless you turn off passcode lock. Nonsense. Resilience Sync does it just fine. Fix this very basic feature so I can secure my documents, or your app is useless to me. Also: the ability to email a file, rather than a link to a file, is important to me as well. Oh well. Off to the competition....

I can no longer easily save or access files on mobile. I just get the spinning wheel. I can’t save files or easily upload them. I’ve tried clearing the cachet the app, deleting the app and restarting my phone, redownloaded it and the same problem presents itself. I use dropbox for work and this past month has been one headache after another. Taking my business, and my corporate business, to a competitor’s cloud service. Sick of all the bugs!

I used to use Dropbox as my primary cloud backup service until I got better deals from it’s competitors. Today, I received an email giving me 200Mb, which reminded me of using Dropbox. I used it today, and noticed that it has not improved, and has in fact, in my opinion, gotten worse. It still has limitations it’s competitors do not have on both Android and iOS(iPhone). File management needs improvement. Speeds are not what used to either. Dropbox used to be the leader in cloud storage. One Drive and Google Drive offer more for less. Mega is better for privacy minded individuals.

The app keeps telling me .mov files are incompatible with my device or something of a similar effect. This is false, since iOS uses .mov. The app basically restricts me from something it should be able to do.

This app appears to be impossible to unsubscribe from. I have been trying since the day I downloaded it thanks to a soccer coach putting all of my kids pics in this. I’ve googled how to unsubscribe, emailed the company, deleted my account etc. yet my App Store thing claims I’m subscribed and wants me to pay these people $10 for a folder of junk.

Dropbox is easy to use, secure as it gets, and makes cloud storage and collaboration a breeze. I love how easy it is to switch between personal and the Dropbox Business team my work uses, all within the app. My only complaint is that I can’t give it more than 5 stars!!!

This product works and works very well. My favorite feature is the scan to PDF and save. I had a hard time keeping track of receipts. This takes the headache out of it. As soon as I get a receipt, I scan it and store it. No more lost receipts! I can then access them from my desktop and phone. I highly recommend this app.

Well I’m new to Dropbox and I can’t seem to get it going? Got a new HP laptop for Xmas so I get 25 FB free but they keep emailing me to claim my freebie and I click on let’s get started and I have a few files there but they keep saying I have to complete my set up? What do I do or what am I not doing? I’m so confused? I want all my patterns and recipes in Dropbox but don’t know how! Poor instruction for someone not so savvy with apps.

Dropbox is painfully slow or not working at all for exporting pics and video to the camera roll. I can’t even open a .txt file with minimal text. So lame. I rely on this app and pay $120 a year for this service that doesn’t work. Time to switch to another service.

I’m a long term user of Dropbox, primarily online & desktop. I’ve used the app for some years now, but recently the app has been bugging out more and more. It’s so frustrating & ends up taking 10X the amount of time it typically would with a working app. Dropbox App used to be my go to, I especially loved the scan feature. So useful- all in one. Now if I’m trying to scan documents/receipts, I need to plan on the app getting stuck in a forever “pinwheel” stage or crashing. Sometimes when I’m just near the end of my last item to process - BOOM. Back at square one. Please fix this!

Well, was a member of Apple cloud storage and charged me $1/month. Stored some files and then forgot all about it. Never used the facility for a long time. One day finally tried to look at the stored files, but couldn’t. Went to kcal Apple outlet for help. They tried but couldn’t find my files. So much for their storage service. But they continued to charge my card for their no service job. Then decided to cancel their service but couldn’t. Finally, to stop them for no service charge had to cancel my credit card. What a service?

Dropbox is great. It has saved me time and energy with storage and accessibility. I would however suggest adding a feature for stylus writing to the app so I can write on my uploads, not just type. My semester is starting soon and I'm realizing this would be a life saver if I could free hand write on the app. Add this feature and I'll definitely consider 5 stars.

Scan function is pretty bad when compared to scannable, etc. Keeps asking me to sign with Adobe first before Dropbox option which is counterintuitive -- Bumped it up a star because there is offline folder capability — As of 1-15-19 I really want to like Dropbox but the ‘live stream’ of my ever changing files is not visually appealing to me.

The existence of this app on my phone makes it impossible to view zip files shared with me by others. The link opens in the app, which cannot view images in zip files. If the app is uninstalled, the link works fine and the images can be viewed in the browser.

I’ve been trying to get into a shared work file for hours now. I finally (after restarting my tech, deleting and reinstalling the app) tried to email customer service. I am told that someone will email me in a few days. Wow. I’ve paid for the upgrade, but I still only have 2GB of space, and therefore cannot access my work files. Terrible customer service when you’re paying for the app, and crickets 🦗.

I think the app is useful. However expensive and not user friendly. For example when trying to downgrade from paid to free it doesn’t appear to be possible. So please don’t provide instructions for actions which appear not. The F Bard.

This application has greatly improved since my last review. The only thing I would change currently is the new photo tweak which is just useless bloat. The software can not be a Swiss Army knife without becoming cumbersome. I would focus on more obvious improvements instead.

When it takes 24 hours to upload a 15 minute video that’s a little ridiculous. Uploading takes forever. And it shouldn’t. Update: cancelled my subscription. Nothing will upload anymore. Waited 2 days to upload a 10 minute video and it couldn’t upload. Not Going to pay for something that can’t do what it says. Please contact me when you fix the app.

2019 Update: STOP harassing me to upgrade—apparently $99 per year isn’t enough for you greedy developers! Getting sick and tired of being constantly pestered to upgrade to a business account on the app, on the web, and on my MacBook (“save 20 GB space...”). Pandora did that and they lost my business. Stop it! Previous Review: Have been a premium Dropbox customer for many years; and overall relatively pleased. However, I don’t entirely trust it with my precious photos taken over the years. Also, please provide support for Live Photos, save my EDITED photo (not original) or both; and lastly, allow us to view smooth videos. These implements will bring my rating back up to a 5.

It’s been 5 days since I downloaded this app , and as soon as I downloaded it I started to upload all my pictures (350 pics) well we are now on our 5th day and everything is still uploading , so it uploads 2 pics per day . Which is RIDICULOUS!!! And I can’t be on the app for more than 6 seconds because it shuts down and takes me back to my home screen . !!! This is by far the WORST APP EVER !!!!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!

Generally, this app works amazing, thank you so much for all the great work! HOWEVER! Suddenly, files will not load/open for me. It happened a couple days ago when I went to check, and I dismissed it. Now its not happening again. As someone who uses their iPad as their computer, this is a huge problem!! Please fix!!!!

The Dropbox app has never worked well for me. The latest glitch is the search function simply failing. The one good thing is being able to play videos directly from the app/site, which does seem like a legit differentiator. Other than that, I prefer Dropbox’s competitors in almost every way.

Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.

I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.

Dropbox is good but one problem i have with it is that when you upload photos, it jumbles them all up so there is no order and I can never find photos I am looking for. It also takes FOREVER to upload videos, like over a week until it’s pointless to try. And i wish to export or delete there was a “select” option for group exports/deletes of photos.

Too many distractions

I use Dropbox and will continue to use it but I’m sick and tired of the popups that interrupt my flow when I’m working. This app constantly shoves notes in my face about what I can do when I’ve seen these boots hundreds of times. There’s no way to turn them off so they just keep adding extra time to what I’m doing dropping my efficiency. I don’t care to be pestered all the time by something I pay for. Stop distracting me from work.

The recent update has rendered all of my PDF files useless. I cannot open anything on the iOS version of drop box for iPad. I know it is syncing because new folders that are made on my desktop is reflected in the app. However, when I open ANY PDF files, I get a picture of a cat on a box with “error loading the file”. I really need this to work. I am currently using the iCloud Drive to access my Dropbox and bypass this stupid error in the mean time. PLEASE FIX!!!!

I've been a paying Dropbox customer for years and use Dropbox for my personal use and my music business. About 6 months ago a company I was working for sent me an invite to Dropbox to share files and join the team. The company did not like DP's service, so cancelled their business account and along with it - Dropbox locked me out of my personal account. I emailed support asking for them to give back me access to my personal account, which I had been using for many years separately from the business account I had joined. Support informed me they are unable to do so without permission to reactivate account from the business admin of the group I joined. My admin immediately emailed them to approve the reactivation, upon which DP said they can no longer reactivate my personal account due to the fact that the business account was deactivated over 30 days ago. I am completely livid - I have lost thousands of dollars in potential music licensing because my only access to my files were through dropbox. I cannot understand how my personal account, with extremely important files on it, that I've had AND PAID FOR now for many years would get deleted and deactivated just because an outside business group had decided to share files with me. I even paid for a year in advance and am paying for my account to not work!!! Customer service has not been helpful at all and I need a solution ASAP.

After the recent update, DropBox stopped working properly for camera-roll upload on my iPad. Their solution? Remove the app, forget the network, fully restart the iPad, re-connect to the network, and re-install the app. Seriously? Good thing I have nothing else to do ... oh, wait. Basement flooded. So yeah, I have something else to do that's rather urgent. Good news is that yes, this did in fact resolve the issue, but really, I have other things to do in my life than reset apps with updates that fail. Especially when paying $75/month for the business version. For $75 a month I expect a MUCH better UI, amazing support, in-file search (not just the file titles), and so much more. Instead, we get the un/re-install merry-go-round, an ok UI, low-availability support (US normal business hours only), and an amazingly klugey sync setup. Heaven help you if your Mac has an external drive. What happens when you get a new Mac? It downloads everything from Dropbox again, even though all I did was remove the USB plug from the old machine to the new. Good job, Dropbox. Well done. Now I gotta wait for 4T of data to re-synch. Their super awesome support response? Well, we told you external drives might not work as expected. I’m totally looking for another service. Seriously, $900 a year for this? I feel like an idiot for locking myself into this “service”.
Great except keeps losing recent files

99% of the time when I used this app, it is to do something with one of the three or four files I have most recently edited. For some reason this app keeps losing track of those, which makes it take much longer to use. Last time it was because they forced dropbox paper towns artificially find a recent list, this time the paper staff is back again and all my recent files have disappeared. There is no option to remove the paper spam from the recent list. For bonus points they say it’s easy to contact them if you have problems about the app. It isn’t. When I finally found a way, their support page doesn’t work; it won’t let me choose a device and therefore won’t let submit a ticket. This is of course on my iPhone, the same device the app is running on, using safari, the default and dominant browser. Ridiculous.

Hello, I just wanted to say that Dropbox is actually a really great place to store Office files, sorry if I was harsh earlier. I wouldn’t trust it with all of your files, because I’ve had a lot of issues with the iWork things and all that. The app itself works fine this way. Just wanted to say that. Suggestions: -Maybe we can do a one-time payment for a little extra storage? Like pay $1 for 2 extra gigs. I would definitely pay a few dollars for that. -Support for Apple files. As I’m writing this, there’s no way to edit Pages/Numbers/Keynote files from Dropbox. I use Pages a lot and so do a lot of other people, so you need to add support for those. -Once, I opened the Dropbox app and found that it wouldn’t let me create any Office files. (Like when I clicked “new file,” the option for creating Office files wasn’t there.) I signed out of Dropbox and tried to sign back in, but it said “there was an error” when I tried to sign in even though I got the sign-in info correct! This wasn’t a huge deal since I was able to log back in a half hour later with the create files feature back, but you might want to make sure it doesn’t happen again. -PowerPoint files take FOREVER to load up! (At least for me they do.) Please make it quicker. Thank you for reading!!!

Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.

I’ve had this app for a while now. They promise to keep all your pictures safe “NO MATTER WHAT” which is all a lie! Let’s say u lose access to the account for a bit so you are inactive with it. Well without them even asking for your permission, they decide to erase your account and all the pictures you saved with it!! I completely believed them like an idiot and deleted my pictures and gave it to them so they can “KEEP IT SAFE” and without even consulting me or thinking about the fact that I have important pictures and things I actually wanted them to keep safe, they just erase and pretend like nothing ever happened. I completely do not recommend this app!! PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! GET EVERALBUM OR EVEN GOOGLE PICTURES BUT DO NOT USE THIS!!!

After looking down the long list of seriously bad recent reviews, I’m NOT doing the latest upgrade (operating under the theory “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”). What I’m using now, while far from perfect, is adequate; I don’t have to wrestle constantly with the software, and I know what workarounds I need to employ to get ‘er done, so…its not a perfect world, but no new surprises. I already knew their customer support was nonexistent; I have a “story” of my own. I hope someone sues them for false advertising (for claiming they have customer support). I’d say it’s possible to win that in a court of law: if someone pays for a product and substantially relies on the written description of something (“we have customer service available to serve you,” or whatever is written), there’s a case to be made if the person or business incurred a provable loss due to that reliance. Hmmm… 🤔 Dropbox appears to have gone the way of so many apps - it’s all about the Benjamin’s (as opposed to quality, reliable customer support). But, of course, the less peeps employed, the better the bottom line looks. I noticed, however, that their marketing department must be working overtime. How a 4.7 star rating is possible with as many really bad (recent) reviews is absolutely beyond me. Of course, no one would ever skew the review numbers to make an app look more attractive, would they? 🙄

Picture & video upload now constantly crashes. Very slow upload when it does work. Refuses to upload when the battery is low (even if its plugged in and currently charging!) If I have low battery don't you think it would be IMPORTANT to be able to upload/backup what I can before it dies?!? At the very least they should be an option that says 'continue anyway'. And if the phone is already charging I don't see why that matters? I can't upload a SINGLE picture? Really? Why does dropbox decide when I can or can't upload pics? This used to be a great app but recently it's falling apart. The media player is missing many desired features like fast forward/rewind 15 seconds, etc. Please fix the app! I've been a long time customer but I'm finding more frustrations than conveniences. Please fix the pic and video upload! App constantly locks up and crashes.

Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.

Oh my gosh! I was having a difficult time logging in on my desktop - trying to remember my password and it wouldn’t let me in. I figured I’ll just continue to use the app on my phone, until I saw the “Connect A Computer” button. I pressed it and in a matter of seconds (I’d say less than 45secs) I was able to get into my account on my desktop computer. It was just three easy steps! I’ve been using Dropbox for almost 8 years and thought it was good but nothing outstanding enough to write a review until now. I just hate the little badge icon that appears on a document when saved in Dropbox. I hide it but it comes back... All good tho!

I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.

What can I say about an app that gives me access to everything I have from my cell phone- simple intuitive fail-free. The biggest tech mistake of my life was switching briefly to another service which lost my data and treated my like dirt when I asked for help. There are few things I’d like Dropbox to change but they aren’t specific to the app. The only app bug I’d like to see changed is the folder size limit which does not apply to desktop versions. it has been an inconvenience to break up one of my large folders, but still worth it to have my whole life with me anytime anywhere.

The scan feature has been really nice but one thing has driven me crazy. Using a phone, how hard is it to zoom into the document or receipt you are trying to capture? Not really that hard!! I personally don’t mind if i have a piece of the surface the doc is sitting on captured with the image. What drives me crazy, however, is ALWAYS having to adjust the image to actually capture what i intended to. The success of the auto detect feature is less than 50% for me and that’s only because I’ve gotten better at tricking it. Long story short, please Dropbox, at least have an option to disable the auto detect feature. I keep thinking this is going to fixed with updates but it hasn’t.

I’m wanting to make a certain folder in my Dropbox available offline. But I need to make sure before I do so. That the contents of this folder that I’m wanting to make offline to view whenever with data or not.. that it won’t be automatically updated into my iPhone camera roll. Or put into a folder in my iOS camera roll. That would be BAD... very very BAD. so that’s my concern. I need to make sure that these sensitive confidential files won’t be seen ANYWHERE else except offline in the Dropbox app. And not in my personal camera roll. Please advise. Respectfully, Dropbox 1TB user. :)

Reply to the Developer Response: The Developer’s reply discussed automatic photo upload. However, I was not talking about automatic upload and did not use the term. I have modified my review to clarify. —- Review —- When manually selecting photos for upload from an iOS device, Dropbox is shows an iOS Moments view of iOS photos. Dropbox calls this “Camera Roll” even though it does not match the iOS Camera Roll. Worse, Dropbox does not offer a way to select photos for upload using a view that’s in iOS Camera Roll order. You have to remember the date you took a photo or do a whole lot of scrolling if you have more than just a handful of photos (scrolling because of the screen space wasted by an iOS Moments view). This is a not user-friendly approach. This is not the only usability issue I have with Dropbox and I use Dropbox less than I would like because of these. However, it still remains somewhat useful to me so I gave it three stars for the somewhat usefulness.

Having this Dropbox App is a great way to have accessto your (Dropbox) cloud documents; specially since it integrates with the built in Files app. It's also a great way to upload things to your Dropbox account. Starting out with 2GB of free data is pretty silly in this day and age, but that describes the service, not the app. What I do find ridiculous about the app is that a simple feature like "Make available offline" is hidden behind a paywall. Really? I need to pay to maintain files on my device so I don't have to constantly use up your service's bandwidth whenever trying to open such files? Just ridiculous..

Hi, I have had an amazing experience with the app for iPad. I use Dropbox to save my photos and videos, my memories. Camera load is very useful. I have one suggestion: the option to sort files by creation time is not available. It is possible to sort them by modification time, but is not the same. It would be awesome to have that option available, because I will be able to see my photos and videos in a chronological order. Me and my family will be very happy if this option comes true. Greeting an keep up with the good work.

About a year ago I tried to use Dropbox for photo and video backup from my iPhone so I could clear up some space....It was so slow it was useless. I literally had to upload 1 file at a time or it flat out would not work. Fast forward to today. It's the exact same thing. I've been trying to backup 64 files (videos less than 60 seconds long shot on my iPhone 5) and it's exactly the same thing. To make sure it wasn't my connection I sent a 1.5 gig file to a client via WeTranfer to test and it only took about 20 minutes. On the laptop I have no problems but the iPhone app just doesn't cut it.

I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.

BEWARE! I cancelled my trial, the App Store tried to charge me a week before trial was up, then continued trying to charge me,fortunately I had removed my credit card before that because App Store said my valid card wasn’t valid, obvious App Store problem. Way to go Apple! Dropbox sends emails you can’t reply to, and there is no way to contact them thru app or website, I’d rate ZERO stars if I could, how are users supposed to get support? Reading other reviews, apparently there is none, that’s a major FAIL!!! I suppose the app works ok if you have access to high speed internet or work with tiny files, but if you don’t or are limited to a cell connection it’s pointless if working with large video files.

2019 Update: STOP harassing me to upgrade—apparently $99 per year isn’t enough for you greedy developers! Getting sick and tired of being constantly pestered to upgrade to a business account on the app, on the web, and on my MacBook (“save 20 GB space...”). Pandora did that and they lost my business. Stop it! Previous Review: Have been a premium Dropbox customer for many years; and overall relatively pleased. However, I don’t entirely trust it with my precious photos taken over the years. Also, please provide support for Live Photos, save my EDITED photo (not original) or both; and lastly, allow us to view smooth videos. These implements will bring my rating back up to a 5.

I use Dropbox for numerous things online, both business related and personal. In all circumstances I need to be able to interact with people on shared documents and the most recent update has made that impossible for some reason on my iPad. I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem so it should probably be fixed right away. If not people like me will have to find other programs to use. That aside, before the problem occurred Dropbox was my go to on all of my devices. I sincerely hope this problem gets fixed.

Always there, online, offline, moving documents from one platform to another, Dropbox is your quick, easy, no fuss solution. It’s one of the cleanest layouts ever created (in my opinion). I would defiantly suggest giving Dropbox a try for anyone going to school or working in business. Other platforms exist such as google docs, or Microsoft office, which I also use, but Dropbox has them beat in speed of upload and download, and loading of page, AND ease of navigation.

I have been using Dropbox as a tool to exchange files between my iPhone, 2 ipads, and several windows PCs. When I encounter errors, the messages are very ambiguous. Often the message is followed by a “try again” phrase. Trying again has never worked without doing additional research and changing the operation. Often the change involves using an alternate ‘cloud’ and it’s tools. The only support tool that seems to work is the the ‘community’, but this is normally very high level and cluttered with noise. It requires a lot of time in searching and reading that rarely returns a helpful answer.

I downloaded drop box on an old phone almost 2 years ago(when it was free), got a file sent to me, never used it again, got a whole new phone and forgot about it, I just noticed on my credit card bill about 5 months ago I got upgraded without my knowledge and have been paying 10 dollars a month and now Dropbox is like “oh I’m sorry We have nothing to do with that it’s the Apple store” and I’ve been trying to get my money back for a month and there is no way to get a hold of anyone because it’s such a big company they can just take your money and you’re forced to deal with it. Not cool at all. I even cancelled and it still took my money this month, AGAIN.

I’ve really enjoyed Dropbox. It makes accessing my files across multiple devices so easy. After the most recent update I’m no longer able to attach files to emails through the “attachment” option in the mail app on my phone. Not everyone has a Dropbox account and I hate sending links to the files as it seems unprofessional to me. I’ve looked into it and it seems many people have experienced this issue. I hope it is resolved soon.

I am a Dropbox professional subscriber for past several years but now will be moving to google drive and cancelling my subscription. The App has a major bug since iOS 12 - I cannot access any file from the App but I can access same file using mobile safari. I have been emailing customer support for past 2 months and keep getting canned and useless responses. I also tried to escalate to Drew Houston, CEO of Dropbox but I don’t think he cares. I will be writing about this bad experience on other social platforms as well. I have been a shareholder as well but given how bad their general approach towards customers is, I will be selling my shares as well.

I have been trying to download a file from a paid account to my unpaid account. I am unable to download any files from my Dropbox account to the local storage on my device. This gets one star until Dropbox realizes its existential purpose if transferring files from one computer to another computer and not one account to another account. Review of paid trial version. Now I am not able to select more then one file. I have the option of downloading a file but that’s not that helpful to me if I need to download gigs of content for work. Additionally it limits the file size you are able to download to something between 50 and 100 megabytes. That what.. a minute of 1080 video? Why do I not have the option of downloading an entire folder of content. I am willing to pay for the Dropbox experience I had in 2012. I am frustrated when the basic law of modern economics that things get better and cheaper over time is rolled backwards by greedy present hedonistic executives.

Of the few paid cloud services that I suscribe to, Dropbox would be the first one that I would close. Fewer returns for the buck. The cloud service is clunky and counterintuitive, inc. it’s search engine. Uploading and managing files, as compared to other services is a chore. They haven’t upgraded the available storage space in years (1 Tb). It continues to be great, for what most of us signed-up for, to begin with— sharing docs with others, and for syncing frequently used files/folders in our hard-drives. But this is now also possible w other cloud providers.

it’s a good app, it’s very useful when i broke my screen and needed to upload about 3000 photos off my phone but a huge issue is that when i need to download them all BACK on my phone, i have to go and redownload EVERY individual photo. i don’t have time for that !! they need to add a feature where you can select multiple and export them to camera roll all at once and/or select a folder(s) that you can download to camera roll bc it’s so annoying to redownload every picture/video individually. PLEASE FIX THIS

Dropbox keeps me well organized with all types of data by allowing me to sort them out into files & folders. It also allows me to share with others selected data, files, folders or all of it and even to allow others to make changes to selected or all data. Furthermore it allows one to share large files & folders. Dropbox is just AWESOME! I can’t wait for the next improvements to come by!

I have been using Dropbox for years and love that it is accessible through an app for IOS. I am having a major problem, however, which may be a deal breaker. I am unable to find a way to export multiple files to a device at once. Currently, I have to save each file separately, and when dealing with hundreds, or thousands of files, this is just not practical by any means. I will gladly change my review if this fault is truly user error, but I have found many others with the same complaint.

Amazing app that does a very nice job and helps with workflow tremendously. I wish it had two features: 1) the ability to choose which app to open files in directly from Dropbox (like pdf expert instead of just adobe) 2) syncing / comparability with Microsoft word so that when you make a file available offline in Dropbox you can open it from Dropbox in Word without internet.

I’m a long term user of Dropbox, primarily online & desktop. I’ve used the app for some years now, but recently the app has been bugging out more and more. It’s so frustrating & ends up taking 10X the amount of time it typically would with a working app. Dropbox App used to be my go to, I especially loved the scan feature. So useful- all in one. Now if I’m trying to scan documents/receipts, I need to plan on the app getting stuck in a forever “pinwheel” stage or crashing. Sometimes when I’m just near the end of my last item to process - BOOM. Back at square one. Please fix this!

Using Dropbox has helped me in keeping everything in a safe and easy to use platform space. My favorite feature is the ability to scan an upload documents just by taking a picture of it. So far, so good! I would recommend others to give it a try so they can appreciate the advanced technological features and a stress free tool that’s easy to learn how to use.

Everything with Dropbox is cool but whenever I want to share a photo from gallery or a pdf there’s a big problem that I can’t just use “share via” cuz when I select Dropbox I have to assign an email address to share the link with. It can’t just upload something directly to Dropbox without sharing. And another problem is that I can’t share a file directly from Dropbox; I just have to send the link

Our office has a business account w/ 5TB storage. Dropbox app on my Iphone X (w/iOS 12.1) was virtually useless for about a month. It continually froze & crashed. The latest update seems to have fixed the problem. My hope is the developers will do a better job of vetting & testing their updates, before releasing them to the public. If that means releasing fewer or less-frequent updates, so be it. What good is constant tweaking if you jeopardize the reliability of your product?

Usually this app works seamlessly but lately has been giving me issues with saving files. When I try to save (or export) an image to my phone, it starts the process but then the “exporting” pop up doesn’t go away and I can’t continue to browse photos because the pop up blocks it. I can only continue using the app after I close out completely then I have to go scroll back to where I was. It’s a bit of an inconvenience to have to close down the app after every photo I view/save.

Most of my files are missing... no indication of them being updated or syncing or a data wheel turning... just says folder is empty.... been waiting four hours now no files... is quality control just an out dated concept? Where are my files? Update: now photo uploads stall after 2 photos. Rebooting the phone gives the ability to load 2 more before stalling again Update: for some reason the developers have decided to get rid of the refresh function. So when the app bombs out there is no way to refresh the view… Why would you eliminate the refresh function?

What’s happened to DropBox? Was a super reliable app. In the last month it now constantly freezes and crashes on my iPad, iPhone X and iPhone 6s so much so that I can’t use the app any longer. I have a pro business account and have use DB for 5 years and loved it and rated it 5 stars. Now it is completely broken and unusable. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and also done all the Apple updates on all three of my devices and it still constantly freezes and crashes. I have quit using it. Please, please fix. This is very unlike DropBox.

Now this app itself is amazing. I have been able to use it to listen to music offline, and not have to pay for any subscription service. This honestly earns it 4.5 stars in my opinion, but sadly I can’t rate it as that. The only thing I can think of that I have a problem with is that when you are listening to audio clips, there is no button available to loop the sound. Otherwise, absolutely amazing!

If I’m paying I thought i was suppose to see some type of upgrade besides more space... I can only upload one file at a time. Save photos and videos from my dropbox one at a time. It takes all day to load and if you leave the app for even a second the upload that was happening will stop and start over again. Also the duplicating feature again when you leave the app and leave the uploaded material unattended it will either delete or make a double of itself. This is immensely frustrating!

What if I don’t change locations? Why should it matter for uploading? Why do you need location? Why arbitrarily choose to not upload large files? I expect background sync to work fully for everything otherwise I need another solution and one that doesn’t use 25% of my battery!

I don’t appreciate this on bit - with memory still left you can NOT add unless you buy more storage space. This is deceitful in my opinion. Suggest going to Google drive or somewhere else before spending your money with these characters. If you think I’m kidding, here’s part of the actual response they send before asking you to Annie up more $$$: This is a friendly reminder that your Dropbox is almost full! Sadly, it won't save any new changes until it's back in shape.

You guys need to add better features for audio files. I want to be able to have a section for my downloaded audio files and be able to play the song on repeat for that one song and be able to skip to the next song as well. It’s very limited and annoying that I have to swipe up every time and press play once the track has finished so it can replay again.

I have been using for years now without worry of being someplace in some meeting without necessary information. Does not matter which of the 3 computers am or am not using information is available by signing in, whether using Windows or IOS. Love having documents available offline; planning for meeting in places without internet access.

The features are hidden so you have to click all over to try and find what you’re looking for. Once you upload files and create a folder to put the files in, it doesn’t let you add files to folders. You have to start the whole process all over. It restricts you to only sharing once a day, but they have the system rigged to tell you that you exceded the once a day limit when you haven’t shared anything at all today. If, I’m able to share this file today, I’ll never deal with this junk again. I’ll keep using the wetransfer website.

NEED A MEDIA PLAYER!!! Keeps playing whatever song I was playing last at random times, even after killing the app. Has also been doing a lot of freezing and restarting. Maybe if you had a media player.... Otherwise app is an absolute life saver. Being able to coordinate large files with others and send links in a snap is fundamental to my professional existence.

I had a Dropbox account for a couple years. I haven’t used it recently and have not gotten the emails saying they were going to close my account. They literally will not let me sign into my account with MY pictures and the email said they have been deleted? Are you kidding me. These are my pictures. They are my memories. I’m sorry I don’t go on the app daily but they were nice to look back on every once in a while. Now my account no longer exists and my pictures are deleted. Who tf thought that was okay to delete peoples pictures. I’m mad. I want my pictures back!!!!
