Verification process is extreme, limited features
by Mktingmatt on 2019/05/24 18:25
The recaptcha process is horrible, why do I have to roll the ball 20 times only to learn my passcode is wrong? It was on a trusted device. Just horrible. When importing photos from my camera roll I should be able to chose to automatically delete those photos. Instead I have to select photos to import to DB, wait for them to upload and then go into my camera roll and hope I remember which photos and select them again to delete. Other apps such as photo vault have figured this out, why wouldn’t a premium service such as Dropbox have this feature?
Doesn’t work
by adamascorazon on 2019/05/24 14:00
Nothing on my Dropbox works, it never plays and I constantly have to redownload the songs for them to be work. It’s a great concept but if nothing works what’s the point.
Confused
by Audryanne Wright on 2019/05/24 04:00

Why email to upload one photo?
by LTT10 on 2019/05/23 14:57
I often need to upload only one or two photos to Dropbox from my iPad photos. It was much easier to do it one at a time from the camera roll rather than go to Dropbox and upload from there. Now there is a confusing menu box that insists I want to “share” that photo via email. So I have to email it to myself and then go and delete that email. Silly and time consuming. Why??? I’m using the paid version of Dropbox and for the price there are so many useful functions missing. I’ve put off migrating to another service because of the hassle and maybe that’s what Dropbox is counting on. Grrrrrrr.
Offline Files Function is Broken

Offline files function regularly fails. Loses synched offline files, cannot even show an index of the files if offline. This has been a problem for years.

Lacks so many features
by SxySam3 on 2019/05/21 14:08
Been a user of dropbox for so long...i can confidently say google drive beats it in every aspect. Many of the services that dropbox requires a subscription for... google drive has them for free. Its also far more accessible as google drive is connected to way more services. One of the most annoying things about dropbox is that you cannot print from the app. For software that touts itself as being “for the workplace” this is incredibly unintuitable. All in all, just make more google accounts for drive. You’re wasting your time with this app.
New policy makes it useless
by olive70 on 2019/05/21 03:42
Dropbox recently limited the number of device allowed on the free accounts to 3. 👎🏻 I’m using the service since 2008 and promoted it to many friends and colleagues. Now as a thank you Dropbox reduces to 3 the amount of computers we can connect which makes it useless for most of us. I’ll simply use the 1TB storage which comes free with my office 365 subscription. GoodBye Dropbox.
Classic Bait and Switch
by Fleksy fan on 2019/05/21 01:53
Dropbox has suddenly made premium features that have been free for years. Namely, the large number of synced devices and the availability to download files offline. These are basic features that have been free, and are free on literally every other cloud service. By asking people to pay you are making it clear that the company is struggling financially, or has a poor marketing team. The cloud storage industry is huge and Dropbox is a tiny speck in comparison. Take your data elsewhere. Google, Apple, Microsoft, Box, Mega. There are countless others. Don’t waste your time or money on a company that is so obviously grasping for any cash they can get.

The best of its kind.
by wyoem on 2019/05/20 04:12
Dropbox is bar far and way the best cloud storage of its kind. It works everywhere on every device. Its platform neutral as compared with iCloud, google drive, or one box to name a few. It’s strength is its ability to integrate. In a decade of use it has been the most reliable of any products that sync across all my devices.
3 device limit has made Dropbox all but useless
by DewVinci on 2019/05/19 20:10
$120/year to have more than 3 devices? I don’t know why anyone would pay that for storage alone when OneDrive and Google Drive offer so much more for the same price or lower.

Pretty Outstanding…
by Steven Zyler on 2019/05/18 01:46
...especially as a PDF reader. An alphabetical index selector on the right side of the Files tab screen, rather than just the scroll bar, would be a very handy improvement, especially with hundreds of files in a given folder.
Dropbox changed and now I can’t use it on iPhone.
by ADS-suck1977 on 2019/05/18 00:03
I don’t appreciate all of a sudden being told Dropbox can only support 3 devices, and hitting me up for money to do what I’ve been able to for free for a year. No worries though, I’ve got a Google Drive account and I like it better anyway. Just uninstalled the Dropbox app.

A Useful Feature To Add
by Ginger2541 on 2019/05/16 13:42
Y’all should really add a playlist option. For example, this would be useful for people who may be making their own music or for friends of people who make their own music. We like to listen to music that was sent to us that may not be perfect enough for the music artist to put on itunes or other platforms yet. I have a close friend who sent me songs he made and they are amazing, but I cannot listen to them all right after the other because I have to hand pick each one after a song is done playing. This makes it hard when driving; people don’t want to look at their phones and decide which song to pick next because that’s dangerous. I don’t know how hard it is to make this playlist feature happen, but I hope y’all will atleast think about it and get back to me. Much appreciated ☺️
Used to be good. Now there are better options
by I💜U on 2019/05/15 17:18
After many years of flawless use, you guys suddenly limited my devices. I’ve referred numerous people over the years to get nearly 10GB of space but now I am suddenly crippled and limited to 3 devices. I could see maybe 5, but 3? Seriously?Time to switch to Something better that isn’t a bait and switch scam.

by CplSmashed on 2019/05/15 06:22

Great, but lacking
by The Terroriser on 2019/05/15 03:59
Dropbox was good, good for storing all my files, but it had too little space. 2 GB. For all the files I need stored, I had to make 4 TOTAL Dropbox accounts. At a certain point I realized I can’t deal with this anymore. And I look into transferring my files to Google Drive. Giving me 15 GB of storage FOR FREE! I try to export my files to drive, only exports one file. I search all around! Nowhere does it say “export to drive”. I get I could have done it manually, but we’re talking folders and 6-8GB’s worth of documents, data, pictures, and whatever else. No way. I find a chrome extension, connect the account, let it sync my Dropbox to my drive! All of my dropboxes are COMPLETELY useless now! Don’t get me wrong, Dropbox is great. But hey lack in storage and refuse to give you options to transfer elsewhere. They don’t want to let you go.

Must have sync app
by yo walk on 2019/05/15 00:15
No one syncs data as reliably and painlessly as Dropbox. Been a paying customer for years and never had a problem. The mobile app can be a little finicky. I would love to see folder sizes and item counts. But that's just fluff. At the end of the day, it does it's job well.

Offline download removed!
by Deborah-B on 2019/05/13 23:03
I just upgraded to the latest version. I am very annoyed that the function to make “available offline” has been removed from the free version. It used to be there, why take it away?? I use Dropbox to download rehearsal recordings for my choir music, and I listen to them in the car. I do not want to use my precious data to stream these. Very annoyed, and must point out that Google Drive does not have this limitation.

FIX YOUR ISSUES
by dwalla6969 on 2019/05/10 18:14
I have been using Dropbox for a couple years now and I really enjoy the app. BUT the last couple times I’ve been using it somehow out of no where it randomly uploads a picture that I have NOT selected from my camera roll. So after I send off my photos to a client I have a random photo of something NOT work related at all. This is a huge issue and needs to be resolved ASAP. It’s embarrassing and could have been ALOT worse as you can imagine. Please fix this issue or I will be forced to leave and find another document sharing app.

Camera Uploads
by DeltaJack on 2019/05/07 03:44
No star!! Dropbox used a to be a photo storage app. When I first started using the app, it was because I had run out of space on my phone. After several years of sending my photos to Dropbox, Dropbox informs me I had run out of “free” space and needed to pay for an upgrade so I found Google photos. Dropbox has been offering me an upgrade and I have been saying no upgrade. Now...ALL OF MY PHOTOS ARE GONE!!!

Definitely not receiving what I’m paying for
by MeWhoDat on 2019/05/05 22:17
This app is ridiculously unreliable for the putpyit was created to provide. I have ample storage and constantly receiving “not enough storage” error. Downloading into the app takes forever no matter how small or big the file is. If you’re reading this app, save yourself some money, time and frustration. Go with a competitor. I promise you’ll get a better product. It’s obvious the developers are not reading these reviews as much as consumers are.
Update’s A Mess

Camera Roll Does Not Auto Upload To Customized Folders
by Infamous334 on 2019/05/05 17:43
My biggest issue for a few years now is that when taking photos I could have those photos uploaded to specific customized photos. This was an option via settings 2 years ago but for 2 years now it defaults to a folder “Photo” with no chance of selecting which folder. My business has 7 field agents taking about 30 photos each day of real estate properties. I use to be able to create folders for each user and have their photos upload to their specific folder per device. In the office it was very easy to sort out which photos were taken by each agent. Now they dump all into one single folder “PHOTOS”. I have talked to development about this but they tell me it was a 3rd party license called Carousel that allowed them to upload to customized folders but they failed to renew the 3rd party license. Now I get emails stating as of May 7, 2019 my version of the product will fail to operate unless I update but when I go to App Store it tells me I have the latest version. Should the product fail to operate as of May 7, 2019 we will move everything to ICLOUD because the support and tools we need simply don’t exist anymore. This product that once was very good simply does not support my business workflow anymore.
Constantly reducing free version
by cheme75 on 2019/05/05 17:07
Been a free user for years but now switching to google drive and onedrive due to constantly reducing free storage and now number of devices reduced to 3. Original free storage was 5gb, now down to 2.5gb - not a big issue since my need is mostly smaller files. However the recent restriction limit of 3 devices is a deal breaker. I have 4 I need to sync - desktop, laptop, phone and tablet. I suspect that Dropbox is well aware many people have similar needs so decided to try to coerce users to pay for the ability to sync a 4th device. It’s not worth it when I can use my 15gb free google drive or my 5gb free onedrive just as easily. I’m migrating my files now and will be done with Dropbox.

Greed will be the end of Dropbox
by Abner055 on 2019/04/26 04:17
This last move to limit the free service to three devices spells the end of Dropbox. I have used it for years and refered so many people that i’m at max of free space which is 22.25GB. And even continued to refer new users. They have even gotten quite a few premium paid subscribers from my referrals. But no more, their excessive greed has made me decide to stop using their service and use my own personal cloud and will no longer recommend them. And migrate people I do business with to my own personal cloud from my Western Digital PR 4100 Raid NAS. The developers response to another user about the max of three devices is the he can use unlimited web browsers to access his files. That is a pathetic response. We need the device limits raise! I use an Office PC, a home PC using Windows, a Laptop PC using MAC, an iPhone and two iPads that I need to have access to DropBox to make it usable. I'm sure other users are in the same boat with a combination of work and home PCs and personal device such as smartphones and tablets. How ridiculous is it to tell users that they have unlimited web browser sessions? Their days are numbered when so many other companies offer better services at more reasonable prices. Good Bye DropBox. You were good for so many years, but your greed will take you down!!! I predict that if DropBox continues their greed with pricing and limitations, they will be out of business within two years! Remember I said it, and my predictions on such issues is normally spot on.

DO NOT UPDATE!
by Jaileer on 2019/04/24 00:49
This updates removes access to all but 3 devices. I’ve used Dropbox for a long time, and I’ve turned so many people on to them I have maxed out my free space for referrals on my personal account. I’ve also purchased Dropbox business and Dropbox pro for companies I run. So this latest update feels like a slap in the face. It’s time to reconsider Google drive, box or pCloud.
Almost no value anymore, sadly.
by Pags36 on 2019/04/23 14:36
I never write reviews. And I guess I rarely use Dropbox anymore but when I installed the app on my new phone to access some documents I was so annoyed with how I was met I felt compelled to write this. Dropbox used to be a leader in digital storage. They were the first place I thought of when it came to digital storage in fact. Of course Google fame along and are their lunch by giving everyone 15 GB for free (in addition to being tied to their email service and app suite). But I have always had a soft spot for Dropbox over the years because I started with them. That soft spot has significantly hardened. The first thing was being greeted by a call to action because my “linked accounts” limit was reached. If this is for security fine. But it’s not simply by virtue of the fact I was asked to subscribe to an upgrade. How much would this monthly upgrade be? Who knows?? Only a free trial offered. I should know what I’m spending after a trial period ends. I decline. Only to be forced to “unlink” several accounts before seeing my files. This is simply ridiculous. Luckily I plan to move all of my files off Dropbox after this but it is absolutely ludicrous to think that I would be unable to access a file at work, on a another computer temporarily or at a friend’s house because I’ve reached my linked accounts limit. If I apply this principle to Gmail or any Google offering I guarantee Google would be out of business by now. It’s a barrier to ease of use and not customer friendly. Then to seal the deal I was asked to upgrade one more time after unlinking my accounts. This felt like salt in the wound. Further—no pricing information was given. Suddenly those warm and fuzzy feelings I used to associate with Dropbox all but dried up. I know it’s tough to run a business and keep increasing profits. The dev team and entire staff work hard to get this tech to work correctly and reliably with constantly expanding features. I am guessing this was the idea of one small group of people in the company. I speak to them when I say please re-evaluate your policies, be more transparent with pricing and stop working against your customer base. I’m sorry to say I won’t be using Dropbox any longer.
Literally the worst

I don’t even write reviews, but this is bad
by reff33 on 2019/04/22 07:43
Dropbox quietly updated so you can only sync 3 devices only now. For many people that might be suffice and I’m all up for Dropbox trying to monetize some way, but Dropbox should drop their ridiculous price likes of iCloud and/or Google Drive. 10 bucks.. a month. Don’t you see this not working? I gladly pay for iCloud and Google Drive, but this is the wrong direction Dropbox is taking. I can’t believe I’m taking time out to even update this. Feel like I was hoodwinked not being notified about this update.

Another Great Service destroyed by APP
by Ti leaf on 2019/04/20 08:00
The app is worse than useless. I used it last year quite successfully. This year I started using the camera upload feature. Now it won’t let me access the MANY MANY document files that are stored them. From vital legal documents (for hurricane/disaster protection), to articles, and other documents. I am a writer and journalist, and I travel. I have been using Apple products since 1989, and have migrated to the newer IPad Pro, for travel. Dropbox has become a monster dead pool of data. I will likely delete everything. Dump the app. Deal with it on desktop. Move to another cloud service, like Amazon. Sickened to have just paid $450 for a business account only to have it wreck my administrative systems, just as I begin another trip and will be away from home.

Like it, BUT....
by Litekid79 on 2019/04/20 00:00
I remember when bought my galaxy S3, wow...in doing so; received 100GB of free Dropbox space for 2 yrs. Was some kind of promotion for buying a Samsung Galaxy phone. Than I referred like 5 ppl, so received like an extra few GB. In all, I had around 105GB of space(or there abouts). Was awesome, had 5 devices connected & uploading all camera rolls/vids to a backup folder. Super handy, & used my Dropbox ALL the time. Then I get an email 1-2 mos before “honeymoon” was over saying my Dropbox storage is over the 15GB of space allotted to me. Than I find out that instead if 15GB of free space, they changed it to 5GB of free space, unless wanted to buy additional storage (& a tiered subscription every mo/yr). Kinda sucked having to copy 80GB of storage to external drive & took forever. I’m okay with Dropbox now & storage, as I have things managed & under control. Can only connect 2 devices now....kinda crappy, but dem da rules, w/ the continued 5GB of free space. Don’t mind all this, truly...I’m living w/ it. WHAT I HATE, is the UPDATES! Why? Thanks for asking. Here’s why(take good note Dropbox & other Devs/ppl): IT’S B/C YOU DONT LIST EXACTLY WHAT YOU’RE UPDATING OR DOING WITH THE APP, INFO, DATA, ETC... INSTEAD, YOU GIVE A CUTESY STATEMENT LIKE NETFLIX ET AL...OF TAKING OUT TRASH, KOW8NG THE LAWN, TWEAKING THIS/THAT....IMPROVING THINGS FOR US, & REGULARLY RELEASING NEW UPDATES WEEKLY TO JUST “TWEAK” AGAIN THE PREVIOUS WEEKS UPDATES! IF YOU & OTHERS WOULD TELL US WHAT YOUR DOING, IT WOULD SOLVE SO MANY ISSUES. IT WOULD ALLOW PPL A CHOICE WEATHER TO UPDATE OR NOT, MAYBE UPDATING WILL PREVENT APP FROM WORKING ON THEIR VERSION OF PHONE/OS(WHICH HAS HAPPENED MORE TIMES THAN CAN COUNT FOR ME/FAM/FRIENDS OF OTHER APPS ETC....), OR THEY DONT HAVE STORAGE SPACE & “CANT” UPDATE” BUT ARE WORRIED OF SECURITY PATCHES(& IF NO SEC PATCHES INCLUDED IN THIS PARTICULAR VERSION UPDATE, THEY DONT NEED TO WORRY...OR WORSE, DELETE APP CUZ DONT WANNA LOSE, COSTING YOU A CUSTOMER), THAT MIGHT NOT BE NEEDED IF NO PATCH INCLUDED ETC.... So please, real the mold....be bold, brave, & tell us what your changing/updating in the new versions of every update. Transparency goes a long way ya know, especially when we are trusting you with our data......just sayin’ ya know. Most Apps do list what’s new in the updates, heck....Apple does it, on their OS updates! Think about those apples...... Besides this, I like Dropbox & use it daily, but not “knowing” what I’m updating or allowing...is uncool & why a rarely update my App. The only reason I do update it, I MUST so it will continue working on my devices, otherwise, I don’t update any app that doesn’t list the new changes etc....ANY APP! Strange thing is, thought Apple required Devs to divulge to ppl what was being updated & why in the descriptions of every update &/or new install of an app/product; so then, why isn’t COs’ doing this then....Hmm... My score 3/5 b/c of lack of transparency in updates etc...FIX that & I’ll redo rating. Cheers y’all

Best investment in myself ever.

I'm into Dev and Tech of all sorts. I'm self taught and have been obsessed since elementary school. I got banned from using school computers in middle school I believe. Took the final exams for computer science and built a computer from the ground up my freshmen year. So needless to say I'm doing something right. Here's the catch. I'm very odd and ADD. Trying to pick up where I left off on code lines saving tidbits, thoughts, emailing myself and using every free image and file hoster I could get hands-on. I ever have two 1Tb hard drives in my mx14 Alien. It was a cluster of coding, open sources, project's, notes, reminders, you name it. No space to run programs at their full potential. I turned away after my free trial in HS. BUT after giving it another go and storing literally my life in your Application not knowing if I'd regret it forever if it didn't save everything. It syncs, it edits,it's organized and I have another 1tb of anything I need on the go. DropBox is perfect in every way for me and I'm obsessed. Thanks for making my passion less of a struggle to maintain and build upon.

Horrible Scam

It’s advertised as a free app, but won’t let me redownload it unless I pay money. Even though I never signed up for the paid version.
Dropbox bummer: it deletes files from my device.
by 3dTinkerer on 2019/04/15 20:06
I have been a Dropbox user for many years. I depended on Dropbox to keep offline files available on my device. Dropbox WAS very competent, reliable, and useful. I require access to my own data offline. This and archiving files are very important to me. Now Dropbox REQUIRES an online connection even for files I select to be available offline. What is this? It would be more useful if it asked permission before any deletions. However disappointing it is for my portable devices offline, Dropbox still correctly keeps and manages files on my desktop or laptop.
WHAT A MISTAKE
by runrunrepeat on 2019/04/14 20:27
Prepare for a lifetime commitment of being charged $9.99 every month because they’ve made it impossible to cancel my subscription. I gave them a try and shortly discovered I’ll never continually use their service because it’s just not useful to me. They continue to charge me because it’s linked to an email address I have no access to. In fact, it’s an email address that doesn’t exist because when I entered it upon signing up I made a typo and somehow it was overlooked when I created the account. To cancel my account with them, I have to have access to a nonexistent email account!!
Hate it
by Jdfvjpyfc on 2019/04/14 16:19
A teacher at school is using DropBox for a class. Instead of allowing desk top access, DropBox is forcing me to download the app or I can’t get to the files. Any brand that is this invasive and pushes their app on people so aggressively is BS. Deleting as soon as the class is over and happily going back to Google Drive. You’ve turned me and my entire class off of your product with your pushy ways – millennials want to choose what they opt into and this is a huge turn off. Improve your user interface and you won’t have to trap people into signing up.

Too little storage and too few connections allowed
by plawer88 on 2019/04/14 13:05
Comparing to the competitors, it’s amazing that Dropbox has such a loyal following. Less free storage available compared to the competitors. Restrictions on how many devices can be connected. My future is with OneDrive, Google Drive, Amazon Drive, and Box. Dropbox... that’s a thing of the past.
Sharing
by frankster222 on 2019/04/14 06:50
Will Dropbox ever get a clue? They need a less than premium plan with prices similar to apple storage. I have no need for a terabyte of storage. I'd like 50 or so gigabytes and the ability to save a folder instead of a file offline. Or be able to move a folder. So bottom line is I would never pay $99 a year for storage I'd use a fraction of a percentage off. Come on Dropbox
Charging for what has always been free
by Sleepysooner on 2019/04/13 16:37
I have always been able to access my files offline. That has been one of the best features of dropbox. Now you want to charge me for something that I already had. They try to make it sound like they really added new exciting features. Nope. Just being jerks.
“Camera Roll” is not the same as iOS’s Camera Roll
by SeriouslyDave on 2019/04/13 15:34
Reply to the Developer Response: The Developer’s reply discussed automatic photo upload. However, I was not talking about automatic upload and did not use the term. Therefore, I have modified my review to clarify. —- Review —- When manually selecting photos for upload from an iOS device, Dropbox is shows an iOS Moments view of iOS photos. Dropbox calls this “Camera Roll” even though it does not match the iOS Camera Roll. Worse, Dropbox does not offer a way to select photos for upload using a view that’s in iOS Camera Roll order. You have to remember the date you took a photo or do a whole lot of scrolling if you have more than just a handful of photos (scrolling is required because of the screen space wasted by an iOS Moments view). This is a not user-friendly approach. Another issue is that you must tap each photo instead of being able to slide your finger across the screen to select multiple. These are not the only usability issue I have with Dropbox and I use Dropbox less than I would like because of them. However, it still remains somewhat useful to me so I gave it three stars.
Overnight: Only allowed three connected devices?!
by JamesThomasIII on 2019/04/13 12:47
Overnight, Dropbox decides to limit connected devices to three—what a great way to ruin an otherwise excellent service. Not sure how this will help Dropbox compete against the plethora of other cloud storage services.

Not useful anymore
by w.phillips on 2019/04/13 10:51
They started limiting the sync options for the basic plan to just 3 computers recently. The notification of the changes to the terms of service came after the change. I feel for the developers stuck with a poor product guidance team but this app’s is no longer useful to me. It’s monthly price is 4 times what I pay for other services and I really only use it for one app that I can replace with a spreadsheet.

Another stab in my back
by czyrkr on 2019/04/13 02:32
I was using Dropbox since 2012. Never purchased it because it has business pricing. Too expensive for home users. Today I received another stab in my back with device limitations. Why, tell me why don’t you create let’s say 200 GB for $3/ month? Instead you are sending me to Microsoft where I can get $100/year for 5 users 1TB each (Office software included). I never complained about how DropBox is using a lot of memory on or complained about anything else. This was my #1 app on any device. But it is time to say good bye and I wish you Good luck DropBox.

by mayur11 on 2019/04/12 21:47

Such high reviews
by Skinny Pancakes on 2019/04/12 15:35
I have been hearing people use Dropbox for years to rave reviews, but what’s the big deal? I get 2 gb of storage for free and it took 2 days to upload a 850 mb video. On Google Photos I got free unlimited storage with breakneck upload speeds, that can upload about 50 gb/day. Seriously, how is this popular?
Poor network connection
by heysailor53 on 2019/04/12 11:16
Any more it seems that half the time I try and upload a file, Dropbox won’t do it and says “check your network connection”. It does this on 5GE with four bars, gigabit broadband, any connection. Please fix.
Garbage for how much everyone is using this service
by Zazzers on 2019/04/12 03:16
My buddy has been trying to send me links on Dropbox for years and i used to always have problems with them yet I’m very computer savvy. I finally just signed up for an account because I was forced to transfer some legal documents. As far as I’m concerned dropbox is poorly designed. It should be so extremely simple yet it it is so extremely frustrating. On the desktop I have to login only to get to another page where I have to login again I go back to the first page it seems to be a verifiable page on by dropbox yet it just takes me to another login page very frustrating. Yesterday I’m trying to send the second MP4 file to my lawyer and it just won’t share it this year option is not even there. I could go on but I don’t care. I will pretty much avoid dropbox as much as possible and look for another file sharing service like you should too !!!!
Taking away more and more free options.
by avengeds32 on 2019/04/11 02:01
I've used drop box for years, and all of the sudden I can't login until I deactivate all but 3 devices. But I can still login via a web browser on my tablet. It's pointless and annoying to take away features that have been free. I might as well transition everything over to Google drive.
Greedy
by MarioStar998 on 2019/04/10 23:32
The developers are seriously limiting how much you can do with just a basic account. Other cloud storage services are much more appealing. Now you can only have three devices access your account? What stupidity is that? Now you have to pay that pricey pro subscription to have more devices access Dropbox. No thanks.

Too much money for notta lotta “service”
by The Notorious t.i.g on 2018/07/12 00:39
After the recent update, DropBox stopped working properly for camera-roll upload on my iPad. Their solution? Remove the app, forget the network, fully restart the iPad, re-connect to the network, and re-install the app. Seriously? Good thing I have nothing else to do ... oh, wait. Basement flooded. So yeah, I have something else to do that's rather urgent. Good news is that yes, this did in fact resolve the issue, but really, I have other things to do in my life than reset apps with updates that fail. Especially when paying $75/month for the business version. For $75 a month I expect a MUCH better UI, amazing support, in-file search (not just the file titles), and so much more. Instead, we get the un/re-install merry-go-round, an ok UI, low-availability support (US normal business hours only), and an amazingly klugey sync setup. Heaven help you if your Mac has an external drive. What happens when you get a new Mac? It downloads everything from Dropbox again, even though all I did was remove the USB plug from the old machine to the new. Good job, Dropbox. Well done. Now I gotta wait for 4T of data to re-synch. Their super awesome support response? Well, we told you external drives might not work as expected. I’m totally looking for another service. Seriously, $900 a year for this? I feel like an idiot for locking myself into this “service”.
Never liked Dropbox and still don’t
by Conan the Reviewer on 2019/03/14 04:17
This app is confusing and hard to use. A friend sent me a Dropbox link of a song file, and when I clicked on it I got the option to either get the song in the browser or “download the app,” which I had already done. I clocked the latter option, and it just brought me to the App Store. When I clicked open no notice appeared about the download; it just took me to the app. As far as I can tell there’s no way to search through emails or Facebook messenger from the Dropbox app to download the link. I then went back to the link and clicked the other option, “open in browser,” which took me to a playable file but again gave me no options to download the file. I’ve always had problems with Dropbox, and the only time I use it is when someone shares something with me on it. This was one of those times, and though this was my first time using the iPhone app, I came away from it disappointed as usual.
Great except keeps losing recent files
by Paul, just Paul ... on 2018/10/26 00:27
99% of the time when I used this app, it is to do something with one of the three or four files I have most recently edited. For some reason this app keeps losing track of those, which makes it take much longer to use. Last time it was because they forced dropbox paper towns artificially find a recent list, this time the paper staff is back again and all my recent files have disappeared. There is no option to remove the paper spam from the recent list. For bonus points they say it’s easy to contact them if you have problems about the app. It isn’t. When I finally found a way, their support page doesn’t work; it won’t let me choose a device and therefore won’t let submit a ticket. This is of course on my iPhone, the same device the app is running on, using safari, the default and dominant browser. Ridiculous.
Okay...

Hello, I just wanted to say that Dropbox is actually a really great place to store Office files, sorry if I was harsh earlier. I wouldn’t trust it with all of your files, because I’ve had a lot of issues with the iWork things and all that. The app itself works fine this way. Just wanted to say that. Suggestions: -Maybe we can do a one-time payment for a little extra storage? Like pay $1 for 2 extra gigs. I would definitely pay a few dollars for that. -Support for Apple files. As I’m writing this, there’s no way to edit Pages/Numbers/Keynote files from Dropbox. I use Pages a lot and so do a lot of other people, so you need to add support for those. -Once, I opened the Dropbox app and found that it wouldn’t let me create any Office files. (Like when I clicked “new file,” the option for creating Office files wasn’t there.) I signed out of Dropbox and tried to sign back in, but it said “there was an error” when I tried to sign in even though I got the sign-in info correct! This wasn’t a huge deal since I was able to log back in a half hour later with the create files feature back, but you might want to make sure it doesn’t happen again. -PowerPoint files take FOREVER to load up! (At least for me they do.) Please make it quicker. Thank you for reading!!!
Stop changing stuff!
by Dudebraj9000 on 2018/09/18 09:03
Why do you guys constantly insist on changing the whole interface of the app? Seriously. Every update things are different, and not in a good way. Also, I can’t scroll down on my synced folders anymore. It makes my files disappear when I try. This started after the recent update. I’m not one of those “let me speak to your manager” kind of people but I just had to let you know how bad my experience has been so far. Please fix it, and leave it that way unless there’s a really important bug to fix. Also gave you 5 stars because I know you’re hard working people over there and I pay for pro. Don’t hate the app, just hate the constant changes to the overall look of the app that honestly seem more like a step backward than forward.
Five stars for completely disappointing me!!
by keilaa.17 on 2018/07/24 10:01
I’ve had this app for a while now. They promise to keep all your pictures safe “NO MATTER WHAT” which is all a lie! Let’s say u lose access to the account for a bit so you are inactive with it. Well without them even asking for your permission, they decide to erase your account and all the pictures you saved with it!! I completely believed them like an idiot and deleted my pictures and gave it to them so they can “KEEP IT SAFE” and without even consulting me or thinking about the fact that I have important pictures and things I actually wanted them to keep safe, they just erase and pretend like nothing ever happened. I completely do not recommend this app!! PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! GET EVERALBUM OR EVEN GOOGLE PICTURES BUT DO NOT USE THIS!!!
🚫 Not upgrading
by The Blonde Cookie on 2018/10/30 02:50
After looking down the long list of seriously bad recent reviews, I’m NOT doing the latest upgrade (operating under the theory “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”). What I’m using now, while far from perfect, is adequate; I don’t have to wrestle constantly with the software, and I know what workarounds I need to employ to get ‘er done, so…its not a perfect world, but no new surprises. I already knew their customer support was nonexistent; I have a “story” of my own. I hope someone sues them for false advertising (for claiming they have customer support). I’d say it’s possible to win that in a court of law: if someone pays for a product and substantially relies on the written description of something (“we have customer service available to serve you,” or whatever is written), there’s a case to be made if the person or business incurred a provable loss due to that reliance. Hmmm… 🤔 Dropbox appears to have gone the way of so many apps - it’s all about the Benjamin’s (as opposed to quality, reliable customer support). But, of course, the less peeps employed, the better the bottom line looks. I noticed, however, that their marketing department must be working overtime. How a 4.7 star rating is possible with as many really bad (recent) reviews is absolutely beyond me. Of course, no one would ever skew the review numbers to make an app look more attractive, would they? 🙄

Picture & Video upload is broken
by Ktobs on 2018/10/27 16:12
Picture & video upload now constantly crashes. Very slow upload when it does work. Refuses to upload when the battery is low (even if its plugged in and currently charging!) If I have low battery don't you think it would be IMPORTANT to be able to upload/backup what I can before it dies?!? At the very least they should be an option that says 'continue anyway'. And if the phone is already charging I don't see why that matters? I can't upload a SINGLE picture? Really? Why does dropbox decide when I can or can't upload pics? This used to be a great app but recently it's falling apart. The media player is missing many desired features like fast forward/rewind 15 seconds, etc. Please fix the app! I've been a long time customer but I'm finding more frustrations than conveniences. Please fix the pic and video upload! App constantly locks up and crashes.
Horrible
by donna381 on 2019/01/06 18:09
Useless app. Not user friendly. I spent an hour just trying to figure out how to open a file, seriously an hour, and could not get past “download Dropbox paper”. Never succeeded in opening one file, much less sharing files between devices. Googled help for this app and was told to click buttons that did not exist (but clearly should exist!). You would think an app that is supposed to help you manage documents would at least have a straightforward way to open a file. That’s the most basic thing most users would want to do and after one hour a person of at least average intelligence can’t do it. I typed the name of my document in the search bar and it told me it wasn’t found. Double checked for typos, again it wasn’t found. Tried with just one word which I knew to be contained in many of my document files... still “not found”. Ridiculous and frustrating.
Connect A computer
by Hotshtuf on 2018/08/06 20:35
Oh my gosh! I was having a difficult time logging in on my desktop - trying to remember my password and it wouldn’t let me in. I figured I’ll just continue to use the app on my phone, until I saw the “Connect A Computer” button. I pressed it and in a matter of seconds (I’d say less than 45secs) I was able to get into my account on my desktop computer. It was just three easy steps! I’ve been using Dropbox for almost 8 years and thought it was good but nothing outstanding enough to write a review until now. I just hate the little badge icon that appears on a document when saved in Dropbox. I hide it but it comes back... All good tho!
Worst service ever!!!!!
by vedeta h on 2019/01/05 14:43
I have been a Custumer for over 10 years no problem. I have a yearly contract with them. This year they took the money out of my account. In June 2018 and turned off my service in July 2019. I have been fighting with them for months I gave them the receipt from my account and the Apple store. The app say active until June 2019 but when I go the the app it say full must pay money. They said they didn’t get a payment so I need to pay again. I have tried to contact them. You can only talk to them though email or twitter they will not call you. They don’t respond or slow to respond. After months of trying to get in touch with them and proving I paid. They still did not turn on my service. I called the BBB on them and they never responded. Something so simple to solve has turn me off from this product and has made me find other services better than this.
The one app I can’t live without
by Kaiaim on 2018/07/14 20:29
What can I say about an app that gives me access to everything I have from my cell phone- simple intuitive fail-free. The biggest tech mistake of my life was switching briefly to another service which lost my data and treated my like dirt when I asked for help. There are few things I’d like Dropbox to change but they aren’t specific to the app. The only app bug I’d like to see changed is the folder size limit which does not apply to desktop versions. it has been an inconvenience to break up one of my large folders, but still worth it to have my whole life with me anytime anywhere.
Good For The Most Part
by Oof Beans on 2019/03/27 15:16
It’s a pretty good app, I prefer it over google photos. The only thing is that when I upload more than 10 photos at a time, they just won’t download. This is a major problem because I’m switching devices and want to save all of my photos, I want to upload all the photos I want to keep at the same time and have them down load instead of just sitting there with a gray bar under them or saying “waiting to download.” Its fine when it’s only downloading one picture at a time, (since that happened before) but I don’t have control over how many pictures download at a time (and it’s usually four) please fix this!
Almost really good
by mgar5544 on 2018/12/06 15:25
The scan feature has been really nice but one thing has driven me crazy. Using a phone, how hard is it to zoom into the document or receipt you are trying to capture? Not really that hard!! I personally don’t mind if i have a piece of the surface the doc is sitting on captured with the image. What drives me crazy, however, is ALWAYS having to adjust the image to actually capture what i intended to. The success of the auto detect feature is less than 50% for me and that’s only because I’ve gotten better at tricking it. Long story short, please Dropbox, at least have an option to disable the auto detect feature. I keep thinking this is going to fixed with updates but it hasn’t.
Saving Offline
by Byhiu on 2018/10/17 20:34
I’m wanting to make a certain folder in my Dropbox available offline. But I need to make sure before I do so. That the contents of this folder that I’m wanting to make offline to view whenever with data or not.. that it won’t be automatically updated into my iPhone camera roll. Or put into a folder in my iOS camera roll. That would be BAD... very very BAD. so that’s my concern. I need to make sure that these sensitive confidential files won’t be seen ANYWHERE else except offline in the Dropbox app. And not in my personal camera roll. Please advise. Respectfully, Dropbox 1TB user. :)
Scam!
by Kitty Envy on 2019/03/08 00:01
I feel like this is a scam! I had someone send me a doc to look at and it was from this app. So I had to create an account to see it. Then all these options to pay and have no use for app but when I created thinking I could see doc and delete app, it’s not even pulling up doc. I ask friend to send in a regular email. I go to the option to contact support and I can type in the issue of asking to get rid of account (literally minutes after setting up) but drop down box to choose device doesn’t work so no way to get this company’s attention to not be charged or have this account at all. Would not recommend and hope someone from this company sees this because I’m at a loss and truly upset that I might be charged for something I have no use for.
New conditions of use are very limiting
by Catherine31491 on 2019/04/09 22:03
I understand that Dropbox is in the business of making money, but they should not start randomly charging to use their app on more than 3 devices or there should be a more economic, scalable option. With the only alternative being to start paying 9.99 a month to use this on 4 devices I am just going to have to start using other software. I loved Dropbox and have been with them since the beginning and I also understand charging for more storage space but to charge existing members to just use what they have is a deal breaker. Give me a 2.99 option, but $10/month for space I don’t need and no other added functionality is it for me. Good luck to anyone who tries to add a new device to their existing free account.
Great way to access cloud files
by Jedidude on 2018/08/07 02:07
Having this Dropbox App is a great way to have accessto your (Dropbox) cloud documents; specially since it integrates with the built in Files app. It's also a great way to upload things to your Dropbox account. Starting out with 2GB of free data is pretty silly in this day and age, but that describes the service, not the app. What I do find ridiculous about the app is that a simple feature like "Make available offline" is hidden behind a paywall. Really? I need to pay to maintain files on my device so I don't have to constantly use up your service's bandwidth whenever trying to open such files? Just ridiculous..
Sort files by creation date
by Trololololol222 on 2018/10/24 13:53
Hi, I have had an amazing experience with the app for iPad. I use Dropbox to save my photos and videos, my memories. Camera load is very useful. I have one suggestion: the option to sort files by creation time is not available. It is possible to sort them by modification time, but is not the same. It would be awesome to have that option available, because I will be able to see my photos and videos in a chronological order. Me and my family will be very happy if this option comes true. Greeting an keep up with the good work.
It's sooo slooooow...
by thebasher on 2018/09/14 01:05
About a year ago I tried to use Dropbox for photo and video backup from my iPhone so I could clear up some space....It was so slow it was useless. I literally had to upload 1 file at a time or it flat out would not work. Fast forward to today. It's the exact same thing. I've been trying to backup 64 files (videos less than 60 seconds long shot on my iPhone 5) and it's exactly the same thing. To make sure it wasn't my connection I sent a 1.5 gig file to a client via WeTranfer to test and it only took about 20 minutes. On the laptop I have no problems but the iPhone app just doesn't cut it.
LOVE our business plan! Please fix one problem!
by JohnPoltrock on 2019/02/05 02:56
I love this app. Totally revolutionized our business. I REALLY NEED on app an undo button. The ability to drag and drop files is nice but it’s TOO easy. Just scrolling through files, you grab one and move it to another file and have NO idea what happened, no way to track it, and no undo. Please fix! Also maybe make it so have to hard press and wait for it to jiggle to move like in iOS. Also be nice to add a blank “sheet of paper” to a file that you can jot notes on and save like a pdf right from the app. This would be SUPER.
No support/Tried to charge for a cancelled subscription
by Xvd68 on 2018/09/22 16:47
BEWARE! I cancelled my trial, the App Store tried to charge me a week before trial was up, then continued trying to charge me,fortunately I had removed my credit card before that because App Store said my valid card wasn’t valid, obvious App Store problem. Way to go Apple! Dropbox sends emails you can’t reply to, and there is no way to contact them thru app or website, I’d rate ZERO stars if I could, how are users supposed to get support? Reading other reviews, apparently there is none, that’s a major FAIL!!! I suppose the app works ok if you have access to high speed internet or work with tiny files, but if you don’t or are limited to a cell connection it’s pointless if working with large video files.
Good backup, but
by BAR112 on 2019/01/09 03:31
2019 Update: STOP harassing me to upgrade—apparently $99 per year isn’t enough for you greedy developers! Getting sick and tired of being constantly pestered to upgrade to a business account on the app, on the web, and on my MacBook (“save 20 GB space...”). Pandora did that and they lost my business. Stop it! Previous Review: Have been a premium Dropbox customer for many years; and overall relatively pleased. However, I don’t entirely trust it with my precious photos taken over the years. Also, please provide support for Live Photos, save my EDITED photo (not original) or both; and lastly, allow us to view smooth videos. These implements will bring my rating back up to a 5.
Please fix the problem
by D.James.E on 2018/06/04 01:09
I use Dropbox for numerous things online, both business related and personal. In all circumstances I need to be able to interact with people on shared documents and the most recent update has made that impossible for some reason on my iPad. I’m sure I’m not the only one with this problem so it should probably be fixed right away. If not people like me will have to find other programs to use. That aside, before the problem occurred Dropbox was my go to on all of my devices. I sincerely hope this problem gets fixed.
Documents On The Go
by Fan L33 on 2018/05/27 02:07
Always there, online, offline, moving documents from one platform to another, Dropbox is your quick, easy, no fuss solution. It’s one of the cleanest layouts ever created (in my opinion). I would defiantly suggest giving Dropbox a try for anyone going to school or working in business. Other platforms exist such as google docs, or Microsoft office, which I also use, but Dropbox has them beat in speed of upload and download, and loading of page, AND ease of navigation.
Cancelled due to lack of customer service
by jessica r_ on 2019/03/14 04:26
I’ve been a loyal paying customer of Dropbox since 2011. I’ve stuck with it despite all the bugs and glitches along the way. A few months ago I made the mistake of signing up for a trial to a higher business tier. After opting out of the trial, my account no longer functioned properly. I am now dozens of customer service outreaches in and have yet to find someone who will directly address the problem. Instead, they outright ignore it and tell me the only fix is to upgrade to the higher tier plan. All I’ve asked for is my account’s functionality to be reinstated to its post annual payment / pre-“free trial” status. I’d rather take my business elsewhere than be hustled by “customer service.”
Poor support
by Rodger584 on 2018/11/23 21:39
I have been using Dropbox as a tool to exchange files between my iPhone, 2 ipads, and several windows PCs. When I encounter errors, the messages are very ambiguous. Often the message is followed by a “try again” phrase. Trying again has never worked without doing additional research and changing the operation. Often the change involves using an alternate ‘cloud’ and it’s tools. The only support tool that seems to work is the the ‘community’, but this is normally very high level and cluttered with noise. It requires a lot of time in searching and reading that rarely returns a helpful answer.
Basic functionality with SERIOUS privacy flaws
by willnotburn on 2019/03/01 23:36
1. Get FaceID or TouchID or password requirement by default when the app is launched. Data entry n my Dropbox is just as sensitive as my bank Goldman information. Then why does my banking app require *some* sort of verification (FaceID) upon launch, but Dropbox seems oblivious to this issue. Isn’t the need for this obvious? 2. STOP DISPLAYING MY MOST RECENTLY USED FILES ON THE HOME SCREN OF THE APP!! I use the app all the time to pull up a figure or article to show to professional colleagues at work. Imagine, we’re in the middle of a discussion, I pull up an app to show something, and with them looking over my shoulder my personal files come up on the home page. Unacceptable!
Please update with basic playback tools like
by RnbLover! on 2019/03/12 12:40
1. bigger play, stop, pause in audio playback 2. loop function This is particularly important as we use the app a lot to listen back to mp3s in development, however it is a huge safety issue to locate the tiny little play button every time to restart playback when driving for example. 3. Can you make it possible to please choose weather we want the audio to remember where left off or not. In meetings this is particularly annoying when it starts somewhere else than the beginning. I have sent messages about this before and years ago without any updates and am now adding a review about this for the first time in hope that you take it more seriously. Please fix these basic things so us professionals that rely on your app quite a bit can have a more seamless and safe experience. Thanks again for listening..(i think)
Just signed me up for a subscription
by caylaatx on 2018/09/05 14:02
I downloaded drop box on an old phone almost 2 years ago(when it was free), got a file sent to me, never used it again, got a whole new phone and forgot about it, I just noticed on my credit card bill about 5 months ago I got upgraded without my knowledge and have been paying 10 dollars a month and now Dropbox is like “oh I’m sorry We have nothing to do with that it’s the Apple store” and I’ve been trying to get my money back for a month and there is no way to get a hold of anyone because it’s such a big company they can just take your money and you’re forced to deal with it. Not cool at all. I even cancelled and it still took my money this month, AGAIN.
Love dropbox but app has issues
by Bealullabyz on 2019/02/24 18:40
I love Dropbox and have been using it for years, but the app has issues. It's annoying that when I'm in a folder that has over 3000 photos and i'm browsing one by one to delete, the folder refreshes and shows an empty folder. Then i have to go back to the parent folder, enter the photo folder and go back to where i was. It refreshes every couple of minutes and shows an empty folder. The iPhone also does this. Sometimes, the folder disappears and i have a minor freak out thinking it got deleted so i have to log out then log back in again.
Frustrated with the most recent update
by DanieF1020 on 2018/08/24 04:56
I’ve really enjoyed Dropbox. It makes accessing my files across multiple devices so easy. After the most recent update I’m no longer able to attach files to emails through the “attachment” option in the mail app on my phone. Not everyone has a Dropbox account and I hate sending links to the files as it seems unprofessional to me. I’ve looked into it and it seems many people have experienced this issue. I hope it is resolved soon.
Buggy - cannot access any file from App
by Neotk9711 on 2018/11/27 14:37
I am a Dropbox professional subscriber for past several years but now will be moving to google drive and cancelling my subscription. The App has a major bug since iOS 12 - I cannot access any file from the App but I can access same file using mobile safari. I have been emailing customer support for past 2 months and keep getting canned and useless responses. I also tried to escalate to Drew Houston, CEO of Dropbox but I don’t think he cares. I will be writing about this bad experience on other social platforms as well. I have been a shareholder as well but given how bad their general approach towards customers is, I will be selling my shares as well.
What is the point if you cannot download the files? Updated
by user 272475728 on 2018/09/05 19:08
I have been trying to download a file from a paid account to my unpaid account. I am unable to download any files from my Dropbox account to the local storage on my device. This gets one star until Dropbox realizes its existential purpose if transferring files from one computer to another computer and not one account to another account. Review of paid trial version. Now I am not able to select more then one file. I have the option of downloading a file but that’s not that helpful to me if I need to download gigs of content for work. Additionally it limits the file size you are able to download to something between 50 and 100 megabytes. That what.. a minute of 1080 video? Why do I not have the option of downloading an entire folder of content. I am willing to pay for the Dropbox experience I had in 2012. I am frustrated when the basic law of modern economics that things get better and cheaper over time is rolled backwards by greedy present hedonistic executives.
Could be better
by Marley-blu on 2018/08/26 13:45
Of the few paid cloud services that I suscribe to, Dropbox would be the first one that I would close. Fewer returns for the buck. The cloud service is clunky and counterintuitive, inc. it’s search engine. Uploading and managing files, as compared to other services is a chore. They haven’t upgraded the available storage space in years (1 Tb). It continues to be great, for what most of us signed-up for, to begin with— sharing docs with others, and for syncing frequently used files/folders in our hard-drives. But this is now also possible w other cloud providers.
good
by 🍥Cream🍥Pop🍿 on 2018/12/10 23:38
it’s a good app, it’s very useful when i broke my screen and needed to upload about 3000 photos off my phone but a huge issue is that when i need to download them all BACK on my phone, i have to go and redownload EVERY individual photo. i don’t have time for that !! they need to add a feature where you can select multiple and export them to camera roll all at once and/or select a folder(s) that you can download to camera roll bc it’s so annoying to redownload every picture/video individually. PLEASE FIX THIS
Great app, just wish for more
by Frugal twins on 2019/03/05 16:49
I've used Dropbox for quite awhile. My one complaint is that I wish there was an easy way to switch between different accounts. I have a personal account as well as one I use for accessing files while teaching. I don't really want to merge the two into one account, but I can't figure out how to quickly and easily gain access to both without opening one in a browser while using the app with the other. Otherwise, I will continue to use and love Dropbox!
Dropbox is just awesome!
by mayerou on 2018/05/27 19:29
Dropbox keeps me well organized with all types of data by allowing me to sort them out into files & folders. It also allows me to share with others selected data, files, folders or all of it and even to allow others to make changes to selected or all data. Furthermore it allows one to share large files & folders. Dropbox is just AWESOME! I can’t wait for the next improvements to come by!
Dropbox is great

Update, after re-downloading this app I finally see everything back, please be mindful of future updates the big please? I can see why some of these reviews people at express their frustration So I really like using Dropbox as a blind person or use it every day to organize my college work I i’ve noticed that all my dropbox folders are showing up on my laptop but not my iPhone I hope there’s a way to fix it
Multiple file exports possible?
by Aaron1989 on 2018/07/15 14:59
I have been using Dropbox for years and love that it is accessible through an app for IOS. I am having a major problem, however, which may be a deal breaker. I am unable to find a way to export multiple files to a device at once. Currently, I have to save each file separately, and when dealing with hundreds, or thousands of files, this is just not practical by any means. I will gladly change my review if this fault is truly user error, but I have found many others with the same complaint.
Great app. Needs to keep pushing to push the bounds
by ProfChris32 on 2018/11/20 12:50
Amazing app that does a very nice job and helps with workflow tremendously. I wish it had two features: 1) the ability to choose which app to open files in directly from Dropbox (like pdf expert instead of just adobe) 2) syncing / comparability with Microsoft word so that when you make a file available offline in Dropbox you can open it from Dropbox in Word without internet.
Very disappointed that I would have to pay to have files saved locally
by JimRaleigh on 2019/03/23 01:59
I’m a long time user of DropBox, and have always been very pleased with it, however, I recently tried to save a file locally on my iPad for use when I was away from WiFi and discovered that that feature has now been removed from the standard Dropbox account. I’ll be moving all my files off Dropbox to OneDrive - I get 1 TB of storage there plus Office for my laptop and devices for less than I’d have to pay for just 1 TB on Dropbox - doesn’t make sense. Dropbox responded to this without acknowledging that they did away with the Offline feature in the free Dropbox basic. Bad move, Dropbox.
Continuously Crashing - Dropbox Fix This!
by Wine Birdie on 2019/01/23 21:52
I’m a long term user of Dropbox, primarily online & desktop. I’ve used the app for some years now, but recently the app has been bugging out more and more. It’s so frustrating & ends up taking 10X the amount of time it typically would with a working app. Dropbox App used to be my go to, I especially loved the scan feature. So useful- all in one. Now if I’m trying to scan documents/receipts, I need to plan on the app getting stuck in a forever “pinwheel” stage or crashing. Sometimes when I’m just near the end of my last item to process - BOOM. Back at square one. Please fix this!

Grrrrrrr.

BEWARE!

Literally the worst
by Meadosam on 2019/04/22 20:43
All I wanted to do.. was open the wedding video file my dad sent me and Dropbox is all “free” to download but heaven forbid I actually want to watch the video because I have to sign up to pay $10 a month. NOPE.

So, thanks for making this app, Dropbox creators! ^^

Improve your user interface and you won’t have to trap people into signing up.

by frankster222 on 2019/04/14 06:50
Will Dropbox ever get a clue? They need a less than premium plan with prices similar to apple storage. I have no need for a terabyte of storage. I'd like 50 or so gigabytes and the ability to save a folder instead of a file offline. Or be able to move a folder. So bottom line is I would never pay $99 a year for storage I'd use a fraction of a percentage off. Come on Dropbox
Charging for what has always been free
by Sleepysooner on 2019/04/13 16:37

Overnight: Only allowed three connected devices?!

by w.phillips on 2019/04/13 10:51
They started limiting the sync options for the basic plan to just 3 computers recently.

Can’t link new devices. Why don’t u provide plans under 100G. Don’t need that much space

It has been less useful lately, and more alternatives to Dropbox are available than before. Please explain to those of us who have been around a while why we should pay excessive subscription prices for something worse than the free version was - but no longer is.
Waste of Time
by mayur11 on 2019/04/12 21:47
Money hungry company. You can only link to 3 devices...what BS. I'm not asking for more space, just want to access my documents on my devices. Rather use Box over this any day. Much better user interface.

No thanks.
What the hell
by zoee w. on 2019/04/10 17:57
I got this for one day and signed up for a subscription... I would love to unsubscribe. But they’re being STINGY with their money. Get me out. I’m tired of being billed $10 a moth for NOTHING. Let me unsubscribe please tell me how. This has been going on since November. If possible, I would like a refund. I used this app for absolutely nothing.

But this is now also possible w other cloud providers.
good

it’s a good app, it’s very useful when i broke my screen and needed to upload about 3000 photos off my phone but a huge issue is that when i need to download them all BACK on my phone, i have to go and redownload EVERY individual photo. i don’t have time for that !! they need to add a feature where you can select multiple and export them to camera roll all at once and/or select a folder(s) that you can download to camera roll bc it’s so annoying to redownload every picture/video individually.
