This application uses a unique method to teach you how to win at video poker. Each of the three levels of training give you ten different scenarios to choose from. To simulate these edge conditions, we provide over 4000 combinations of hands make it tougher to see the patterns. Your goal is to get all 14 right out of 14. Each time you play, your score will improve!
For example, which do you think is better? A Hi Pair or three cards of a Royal Flush? How about four of a flush or a low pair?
After you choose which cards to hold, it tells you which cards you should keep and why. Before you know it, you will be an expert at recognizing patterns and instinctively choosing the right cards!
Ever get a hand but don't really know what to hold? Use the Card Analyzer to tell you exactly what to do! The analyzer calculates the average payout of all possible hands you could get for each combination of cards you could hold. It does over 1/2 million calculations in less than 1 second and gives you the perfect move!

Not having a way to track the payout, as in a real game at the bottom of the screen (in Real Play), feels as if something is missing. So, I had to purchase other apps that have that feature. Having that feature allows one to realize how fast a bankroll could be lost /gained. With such feature I would have given the app a five stars.

I love this app. I use it whenever I’m at the casino. You can put the cards that you have in the analyzer and it will tell you what to do. The latest update crashes after every hand which is a bummer, but I’ll still use the app.

Have use the app at riverboat casinos in Indiana, in Vegas, on cruise ships and annually in Reno.
We are pretty good, but the app keeps us sharp in “Training Mode” before we gamble with real money.
Then in “Analyze” mode, we can enter the cards on the machine to see our best hold. That feature alone is worth the price of the app.

I especially like the Real Play feature. I’ve asked for a couple enhancements, but I haven’t noticed any bugs. I like to use a VP trainer in the weeks before a Vegas trip, to knock down the cobwebs. I also like to drink while I’m training for that casino ambiance. :-) This trainer has met my needs.

The perfect app for practicing Jacks or Better—a popular game that is also foundational for learning more complex video poker games. Lots of good features—you can edit the pay tablet to reflect the game you’re playing, you can practice hands and check the odds on your selection, and obviously, just enjoy “playing.” One feature I love is being able to enter a specific hand and analyze the correct move if you get stumped. This is a *must* for anyone who is planning to play for real $ and wants to come out on the winning side over the long term.

Really love this app. Been using it for awhile now to help increase my percentage of correct holds in VP. More correct holds equals more money in my pocket. it pays for itself almost immediately.

I have used VP Trainer many years with much success. My wife and I visit casinos quite often and use the trainer when ever in doubt as to which is the better hand to hold working toward the Royal Flush. My routine is listening to soft jazz on iPhone with VP Trainer near-by to second guess a difficult hand.

This has been a good app so far, but I've noticed the pay amount is wrong on many of the options for different pay scales. I am worried the entire app is inaccurate.

I didn't know how to play poker and within fifteen minutes I was able to grasp the basics. The game has different levels for more skilled players but you can still learn how to play poker using it. It has training levels with feedback coaching you.

There was a lot to learn, always thought "Bet Max" was a scam, and that a line of machines had the same payout for the same game - they don't !

So I got through the training, and was completely stoked about learning a few things that I had really been questioning, so I decided to test it out on the real play option. That was the point when 5 stars dropped to 3.
Training: 10c (clubs), Jc, Ac, 7c, 4h (hearts)
Suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac (for the royal)
Real play suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac, 7c (for the flush)
Well which is it?? 3 to the Royal or 4 to the flush??
I will say this though: This is the first time I've encountered a hypocritical software program. My only other gripe is the fact that there's no way to turn off the sound, and it makes some extremely loud and annoying sounds.

I live in vegas and their is a video poker game on every corner this app has turned me into a pro. Just like the user below stated, the game tells you to hold tens and to go for a high pair except the name of the game is called jacks or better not 10's or better, except the only time it tells you to hold a ten is when the ten is the same suit of another high card like a jack or king. It tells you to go for the high pair but it really means go for the royal flush. I emailed the dev about this and they explained. if any of you have any idea's on how to make this app better email the dev's they listen and want feedback. This game is not flawed and works great!

Do not buy this app for jacks or better as it states. Its flawed and will teach you wrong. It's almost great, but I think the casinos might be putting this out. 10s aren't as good as face cards. 10s are as good as a 3s. Along with other problems.

I'm pretty good already, but being able to enter the cards and find out what to do in tricky situations is priceless!!
I practice with the Real Play function before I hit the casino, keeping my thumb over the advice message to see if I did the right thing before I look at it.

This app would destroy the competition if you could actually play jacks or better against the computer, make bets, collect winnings, etc. The "real play" practice mode is awesome but I had hoped to play games, too.

I love this app! The training modes are great, but I really love the "real play" mode, which lets you play and while you are betting it simultaneously tells you whether this is the best move. I have found no glitches and am happy. One suggestion would be to make the real play more fun, add cash so you can see how much you are winning (or losing). Thanks!!!

Good app with lots of helpful information. The strategy guide and practice session are great tools for beginners. With some additions, this app could be one of the best apps available! My suggestions:
1) up to date casinos in Vegas currently offering 9/6
2) deuces/joker wild strategy/practice
3) further detail explaining the math behind the best cards to keep
4) live practice with available statistics on player choices and play
Hope to see some of these suggestions on the future. Thanks for app!

I'd like to see an explanation listed for certain strategic plays. I find myself wondering why the apps choice makes more sense a lot. I'm not arguing it, just want to learn more about why to choose those cards.
It'd be nice to actually play Jacks or Better, not just train for playing it. I want to test out the newly learned behaviors.
The tactics menu doesn't allow me to see anything beyond the first page. I can't swipe to the other pages.
Hoping for a good update. Lots of potential here!

I like some of the situations represented but I don't see as many chances for a straight at a video poker machine at a casino as the trainer gives. I do like the tatics page showing what to keep and what to discard, that is worth the buck.

Liked old version enough, but this new one is slicker, and has 12 more tests. It gets 5 Stars for the STRATEGY page alone, as neither I nor anyone I know was aware what to look for on a machine to check it's payout. Even the same bank of machines can have different payouts! I doubt many people know that - thanks for opening my eyes!

I thought there would be more to this for $1.99. You go through the 30 different hands they show you - some of which are totally obvious - then you're done forever. Nothing new and not even the chance to practice what you' ve learned. Just not worth the money.

I didn't know how to play poker and within fifteen minutes I was able to grasp the basics. The game has different levels for more skilled players but you can still learn how to play poker using it. It has training levels with feedback coaching you.

Good app with lots of helpful information. The strategy guide and practice session are great tools for beginners. With some additions, this app could be one of the best apps available! My suggestions:
1) up to date casinos in Vegas currently offering 9/6
2) deuces/joker wild strategy/practice
3) further detail explaining the math behind the best cards to keep
4) live practice with available statistics on player choices and play
Hope to see some of these suggestions on the future. Thanks for app!

So I got through the training, and was completely stoked about learning a few things that I had really been questioning, so I decided to test it out on the real play option. That was the point when 5 stars dropped to 3.
Training: 10c (clubs), Jc, Ac, 7c, 4h (hearts)
Suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac (for the royal)
Real play suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac, 7c (for the flush)
Well which is it?? 3 to the Royal or 4 to the flush??
I will say this though: This is the first time I've encountered a hypocritical software program. My only other gripe is the fact that there's no way to turn off the sound, and it makes some extremely loud and annoying sounds.

I'd like to see an explanation listed for certain strategic plays. I find myself wondering why the apps choice makes more sense a lot. I'm not arguing it, just want to learn more about why to choose those cards.
It'd be nice to actually play Jacks or Better, not just train for playing it. I want to test out the newly learned behaviors.
The tactics menu doesn't allow me to see anything beyond the first page. I can't swipe to the other pages.
Hoping for a good update. Lots of potential here!

I thought there would be more to this for $1.99. You go through the 30 different hands they show you - some of which are totally obvious - then you're done forever. Nothing new and not even the chance to practice what you' ve learned. Just not worth the money.

This application uses a unique method to teach you how to win at video poker. Each of the three levels of training give you ten different scenarios to choose from. To simulate these edge conditions, we provide over 4000 combinations of hands make it tougher to see the patterns. Your goal is to get all 14 right out of 14. Each time you play, your score will improve!
For example, which do you think is better? A Hi Pair or three cards of a Royal Flush? How about four of a flush or a low pair?
After you choose which cards to hold, it tells you which cards you should keep and why. Before you know it, you will be an expert at recognizing patterns and instinctively choosing the right cards!

Not having a way to track the payout, as in a real game at the bottom of the screen (in Real Play), feels as if something is missing. So, I had to purchase other apps that have that feature. Having that feature allows one to realize how fast a bankroll could be lost /gained. With such feature I would have given the app a five stars.

I love this app. I use it whenever I’m at the casino. You can put the cards that you have in the analyzer and it will tell you what to do. The latest update crashes after every hand which is a bummer, but I’ll still use the app.

Have use the app at riverboat casinos in Indiana, in Vegas, on cruise ships and annually in Reno.
We are pretty good, but the app keeps us sharp in “Training Mode” before we gamble with real money.
Then in “Analyze” mode, we can enter the cards on the machine to see our best hold. That feature alone is worth the price of the app.

I especially like the Real Play feature. I’ve asked for a couple enhancements, but I haven’t noticed any bugs. I like to use a VP trainer in the weeks before a Vegas trip, to knock down the cobwebs. I also like to drink while I’m training for that casino ambiance. :-) This trainer has met my needs.

The perfect app for practicing Jacks or Better—a popular game that is also foundational for learning more complex video poker games. Lots of good features—you can edit the pay tablet to reflect the game you’re playing, you can practice hands and check the odds on your selection, and obviously, just enjoy “playing.” One feature I love is being able to enter a specific hand and analyze the correct move if you get stumped. This is a *must* for anyone who is planning to play for real $ and wants to come out on the winning side over the long term.

I have used VP Trainer many years with much success. My wife and I visit casinos quite often and use the trainer when ever in doubt as to which is the better hand to hold working toward the Royal Flush. My routine is listening to soft jazz on iPhone with VP Trainer near-by to second guess a difficult hand.

I live in vegas and their is a video poker game on every corner this app has turned me into a pro. Just like the user below stated, the game tells you to hold tens and to go for a high pair except the name of the game is called jacks or better not 10's or better, except the only time it tells you to hold a ten is when the ten is the same suit of another high card like a jack or king. It tells you to go for the high pair but it really means go for the royal flush. I emailed the dev about this and they explained. if any of you have any idea's on how to make this app better email the dev's they listen and want feedback. This game is not flawed and works great!

Do not buy this app for jacks or better as it states. Its flawed and will teach you wrong. It's almost great, but I think the casinos might be putting this out. 10s aren't as good as face cards. 10s are as good as a 3s. Along with other problems.

I'm pretty good already, but being able to enter the cards and find out what to do in tricky situations is priceless!!
I practice with the Real Play function before I hit the casino, keeping my thumb over the advice message to see if I did the right thing before I look at it.

I love this app! The training modes are great, but I really love the "real play" mode, which lets you play and while you are betting it simultaneously tells you whether this is the best move. I have found no glitches and am happy. One suggestion would be to make the real play more fun, add cash so you can see how much you are winning (or losing). Thanks!!!

This app is okay but seems very limited in strategy. Also there is no actual video poker game just the trainer. Limited to a 9/6 machine which are few and far between in the real Vegas.

I like some of the situations represented but I don't see as many chances for a straight at a video poker machine at a casino as the trainer gives. I do like the tatics page showing what to keep and what to discard, that is worth the buck.

I'm a new poker player. I started playing video poker too about 3 mos. Ago. I was very confused about what a straight, flush, high cards, low cards, etc, etc was. Now I'm starting to understand what is really going on while playing. How to win. I'm hooked!!! This app. Is worth every penny.

Liked old version enough, but this new one is slicker, and has 12 more tests. It gets 5 Stars for the STRATEGY page alone, as neither I nor anyone I know was aware what to look for on a machine to check it's payout. Even the same bank of machines can have different payouts! I doubt many people know that - thanks for opening my eyes!

I thought there would be more to this for $1.99. You go through the 30 different hands they show you - some of which are totally obvious - then you're done forever. Nothing new and not even the chance to practice what you' ve learned. Just not worth the money.

The perfect app for practicing Jacks or Better—a popular game that is also foundational for learning more complex video poker games. Lots of good features—you can edit the pay tablet to reflect the game you’re playing, you can practice hands and check the odds on your selection, and obviously, just enjoy “playing.” One feature I love is being able to enter a specific hand and analyze the correct move if you get stumped. This is a *must* for anyone who is planning to play for real $ and wants to come out on the winning side over the long term.
Would like to see a payout feature.

Not having a way to track the payout, as in a real game at the bottom of the screen (in Real Play), feels as if something is missing. So, I had to purchase other apps that have that feature. Having that feature allows one to realize how fast a bankroll could be lost /gained. With such feature I would have given the app a five stars.

I love this app. I use it whenever I’m at the casino. You can put the cards that you have in the analyzer and it will tell you what to do. The latest update crashes after every hand which is a bummer, but I’ll still use the app.

I have used VP Trainer many years with much success. My wife and I visit casinos quite often and use the trainer when ever in doubt as to which is the better hand to hold working toward the Royal Flush. My routine is listening to soft jazz on iPhone with VP Trainer near-by to second guess a difficult hand.

Have use the app at riverboat casinos in Indiana, in Vegas, on cruise ships and annually in Reno.
We are pretty good, but the app keeps us sharp in “Training Mode” before we gamble with real money.
Then in “Analyze” mode, we can enter the cards on the machine to see our best hold. That feature alone is worth the price of the app.

I especially like the Real Play feature. I’ve asked for a couple enhancements, but I haven’t noticed any bugs. I like to use a VP trainer in the weeks before a Vegas trip, to knock down the cobwebs. I also like to drink while I’m training for that casino ambiance. :-) This trainer has met my needs.

Really love this app. Been using it for awhile now to help increase my percentage of correct holds in VP. More correct holds equals more money in my pocket. it pays for itself almost immediately.

I live in vegas and their is a video poker game on every corner this app has turned me into a pro. Just like the user below stated, the game tells you to hold tens and to go for a high pair except the name of the game is called jacks or better not 10's or better, except the only time it tells you to hold a ten is when the ten is the same suit of another high card like a jack or king. It tells you to go for the high pair but it really means go for the royal flush. I emailed the dev about this and they explained. if any of you have any idea's on how to make this app better email the dev's they listen and want feedback. This game is not flawed and works great!

I'm pretty good already, but being able to enter the cards and find out what to do in tricky situations is priceless!!
I practice with the Real Play function before I hit the casino, keeping my thumb over the advice message to see if I did the right thing before I look at it.

I love this app! The training modes are great, but I really love the "real play" mode, which lets you play and while you are betting it simultaneously tells you whether this is the best move. I have found no glitches and am happy. One suggestion would be to make the real play more fun, add cash so you can see how much you are winning (or losing). Thanks!!!

Apparently someone read the reviews, because at last this has everything we have been asking for plus more. You can now actually play a real game that tells you the best possible move and the analyzer is great. Can't wait to go back to Vegas to test out my skills. 5 stars just like I promised.

This app has been indispensable for me to learn and memorize the best tactics in Jacks or Better video poker. Nice balance of practical advice, training tools and great to have the 'real play' mode bringing it all together.

I didn't know how to play poker and within fifteen minutes I was able to grasp the basics. The game has different levels for more skilled players but you can still learn how to play poker using it. It has training levels with feedback coaching you.

This app would destroy the competition if you could actually play jacks or better against the computer, make bets, collect winnings, etc. The "real play" practice mode is awesome but I had hoped to play games, too.

Good app with lots of helpful information. The strategy guide and practice session are great tools for beginners. With some additions, this app could be one of the best apps available! My suggestions:
1) up to date casinos in Vegas currently offering 9/6
2) deuces/joker wild strategy/practice
3) further detail explaining the math behind the best cards to keep
4) live practice with available statistics on player choices and play
Hope to see some of these suggestions on the future. Thanks for app!

So I got through the training, and was completely stoked about learning a few things that I had really been questioning, so I decided to test it out on the real play option. That was the point when 5 stars dropped to 3.
Training: 10c (clubs), Jc, Ac, 7c, 4h (hearts)
Suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac (for the royal)
Real play suggested hold: 10c, Jc, Ac, 7c (for the flush)
Well which is it?? 3 to the Royal or 4 to the flush??
I will say this though: This is the first time I've encountered a hypocritical software program. My only other gripe is the fact that there's no way to turn off the sound, and it makes some extremely loud and annoying sounds.

There was a lot to learn, always thought "Bet Max" was a scam, and that a line of machines had the same payout for the same game - they don't !

I'd like to see an explanation listed for certain strategic plays. I find myself wondering why the apps choice makes more sense a lot. I'm not arguing it, just want to learn more about why to choose those cards.
It'd be nice to actually play Jacks or Better, not just train for playing it. I want to test out the newly learned behaviors.
The tactics menu doesn't allow me to see anything beyond the first page. I can't swipe to the other pages.
Hoping for a good update. Lots of potential here!

This has been a good app so far, but I've noticed the pay amount is wrong on many of the options for different pay scales. I am worried the entire app is inaccurate.
