Sinc Covid 19 not working

The app had been working great before Covid 19. I was able to watch on demand and live shows away from the house. Since Covid 19 I open the app and select something to watch and the application shuts down. Is this due to AT&T not having enough band width for this application over the air? Called customer service and they couldn’t or wouldn’t answer this question.

Oh but it does work great! As long as you watch the libtard ignorance they want you to watch. Interesting how on home WiFi, or not, certain channels work just fine. All day. Every day. And others are stuck in the same 23 second loop from weeks ago. Delete it and reinstall you may say? Nope. Doesn’t work. Yet those channels that always work... yup, they still work just fine. We all know how big of scam artists att is but it does begin to get very frustrating when there’s a pandemic going on and we aren’t home because some of us are still fortunate to be working and can’t even get information except what they want us to get. Cover up? I agree. It is truly pathetic how these companies still think they American people don’t see what they’re doing. They’re all the same. If we want anything but local biased information we have to pay for service that we can’t even get. F you att. Good for nothing thieves.

Ever since I installed the 13.4 upgrade my u-verse tv on my iPhone and tablet will not play movies it just shuts down And when I try to watch a tv show or the news it’s still playing the same broadcast as it was over a week ago when I did the download I have re downloaded the app with no success of correcting the issue Please help

Certain channels don’t load. When going to watch DVR shows, if it will actually have it available, you go to click watch and it says there’s a network error...I’m at home on ATT’s internet looking to watch a show while exercising. Is it your internet or your app ATT?

1. Why can’t I locate a support contact for the U-Verse app? 2. I’ve logged out and reinstalled the app, and restarted my phone. Still, when I go to watch a live tv show, the app continues to play the content I aborted FOUR days ago. I can’t watch the channel live, the app continues to replay the same 2 minutes of content over and over again - and a stupid commercial at that! All other channels are fine. I’ve even tried letting it play for 30 minutes to see if the app will realize it’s not live. How to I fix this? I’ve moved and my TV/Internet can’t be installed until next week. I’m 100% reliant upon my iPhone 7 Plus.

This app is just about worthless on my iPad. I can watch every other streaming app just fine but the U-verse app cannot keep up with streaming. Stops. Have to reload. Stops. You hear sound but no video. Stops. Please update and fix this! Make it worth the money every month.

Why can’t It set to record a specific season of TV shows? I don’t need a hodgepodge of shows across the whole series. It can record until it gets most of a season and I’d be happy. ATT and their useless garbage! The only reason I still have it is because my condo has been blackmailed into only offering ATT. We’re moving this year buddy.

Overall, this app is good, especially when compared to other tv provider apps. One star due to major streaming problem with several channels. Golf channel consistently delivering a distorted/blurred picture. Fox News (210) not working at all by repeating the same point in a show continuously followed by losing the audio all together. Fix these major issues and 5 stars is certainly warranted.

The live channels offered, on demand library, and DVR management are good...not great and could be better. Local channels would be an improvement, the on demand library selection could be broader...more is better right? I can live with those things. But the streaming performance is horrible, definitely the worse by far when compared to any paid app or subscription service. And I’ve had free streaming apps that perform much better than this one. The application crashes frequently, streaming freezes and will loop backwards/forwards 15 - 30 seconds, video freezes while sound continues...especially during certain times of the day. I used to think my home WiFi was the problem, however Speedtest shows 125 down and up with 9ms ping, low jitter and no packet loss and U-verse streaming still has these issues. I experience this on both my iPhone and iPad, so it’s specific to a single device. I believe the issues are due to anything in my environment and am considering some changes if AT&T will not devote more attention and resources to this piece of the service. We’re it not for the performance problems, I would rate the app a 4.

Very frustrating that as a subscriber with a DVR I cannot watch my recordings from my phone/iPad/other device. I could when I had Comcast. As someone who is often traveling for long periods of time this was an invaluable feature.

Lost Connection

Constantly losses connection when trying to use the app as a remote - then it won’t be able to find the receiver. Pretty ridiculous and not consistent. Sometimes it will connect, but the other 90% of the time, you’ll close the app and reopen it, and the connection will be lost and you have to go through the whole phone setup again - which doesn’t work 95% of the time. Not worth the time or trouble frankly. Fix this broken app. I have no absolute idea how it has 5 stars!

The quality is dropping like a rock. App crashes constantly and it’s not my internet speeds. Picture is constantly pixelated and freezes. It’s like watching DirectTV during a bad thunderstorm. I called to try and switch to ATT TV and they said I’d have to pay more for less channels ... awesome job ATT... awesome job....

AT&T U-verse technical support responds with no help and maintains that they didn’t develop the app and they don’t maintain it even though their name is on it and we pay them every month for our U-verse service. It barely has any channels while away from home, there are NO local channels, and there are a ton of bugs and errors. I’ve been trying to watch a show ALL day but all is does is keep looping the same commercial over and over and over - even after I deleted the app and reinstalled it! FOUR years ago (2-29-2016) our local stations CBS and NBC switched National affiliates and ownership (yes, different). CBS became NBC (WRAL local) and local affiliate WNCN took over CBS (which was previously on WRAL CBS) shows etc This APP never caught up to the change - 4 years later! The logo and listings and channels and lineup are all wrong - 4 years later. Looking for a show on NBC - oops got to look under CBS! No where is listed how to bring this huge mess up to the attention of anyone that may care for it to be fixed! Raleigh/Durham

Take some time and please fix this garbage app. While u r all working from home would be the perfect opportunity to really dig in and fix the unstable situation of this app. I spend more time un-freezing, refreshing and rebooting this app than watching a show. Look at the fox now app and you might be able to pick up some pointers on how to make a decent app. AT&T you are a huge company with ungodly resources and should be extremely ashamed of yourself for putting out such a garbage waste of a app.

This App worked great for years but now while watching live tv the Bluetooth audio connection constantly disconnects then reconnects. It definitely is in the ATT app as this is not an issue while watching Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. Very irritating to say the lease.

Wish I could rate it a negative. For as much as I’m paying for cable and Internet service this app should work WAY BETTER! 90% of the time the screen is frozen, or there is no sound, or there is a lag. You can’t watch your dvr recorded shows on the app. VERY DISSATISFIED TO SAY THE LEAST!

I’m so happy to be a subscriber to U-Verse. I regularly travel between my home and my daughter’s home for late night babysitting. I can access my favorite channels, plug in the headphones and not disturb the children’s night sleep. I especially love the data free tv on long road trips. We don’t have to lug any DVD’s nor worry about going over our data plans!!!

This app works as it says but I would love it if one could watch and download a recorded program and watch it on iPad/iPhone offline. I’ve seen this option with other cable companies and it’s a fantastic option. Love to catch up on programs on a flight, etc.

The app will not let me delete some of the shows i recorded from the tv or the app. I watch them on tv, can delete shows on tv, but it will not delete them on the app. I go to app and try to delete the old shows , but it will not delete them. They look like they were deleted, but when I go back into the app the old shows are still there! I need help. I do like that I can add recordings remotely. Thanks.

I constantly get a never ending loading icon and usually it gets to a “cant load player” or something. Quality is not consistent at all, and I can’t even begin numerous shows. It takes multiple tries to load before it maybe works for 5 minutes. Please get some stability or something for this app it’s not that good, especially when I can’t just use the website on my computer to watch things.

#1 Please update this app. When I watch the Disney channel what’s showing on the app is not the same as what’s showing on a regular TV. The app says what’s showing is the same as the Disney channel on a regular TV but as soon as the video starts on the app it’s not what the info says is playing on the Disney channel. Other channels are doing the same as the Disney channel. We’re that say something is on and I click on the channel to find out what they say is on is not what is showing on that channel. #2 Please fix the subtitles. They are not in sink. For example when someone is talking in any video. The subtitle changes before the person talking can finish what they are saying. The subtitles seem to be ahead of all videos in this app. And sometimes the subtitles show up after the person in the video is finished talking. And sometimes the person starts talking and well in the middle of the sentence the subtitle shows up on the screen. So really I don’t know when the subtitles will show up on the screen. I’m talking about everything that is shown on this app not just movies. #3 Once and a while when I open the app it comes up saying do you like the app. Yes or no? Please stop asking that once and a while. It’s annoying to see that pop up once and a while when I open the app. No I’m not asking for it to pop up another time when I have the app open I’m asking for it to not show up anymore.

As a person that’s limited in activities they’re able to do for health reasons the tv and internet is my main path to the outside world. I’ve had all other tv providers and U-verse and the U-verse app are great. I can watch my recorded shows while I wait at my Drs office instead of reading the provided 10 year old magazines if I’ve forgotten my book. So I can always take or recorrd my shows if I forget. All in all so far as a customer of just a month so far I couldn’t be more happier. The only two drawbacks that I see are lack of on demand that stinks and the price. I can live with those the price isn’t so high that I would not have gotten it or make me unhappy with it and the in demand i can live with because you can download the apps for whatever channel you watch and because of your U-verse subscription you will be able to watch they’re online content which is what’s on demand anyway. So all in all I think that U-verse is a great tv choice all the way around.

I have been a customer since 2009 and I am mostly happy with my service. Customer service has been quite disappointing in times that I had to reach out: my relocation was a disaster I was told to bring my boxes from IL to CA, very expensive shipping. Then when the tech came he informed me customer service should have never told you that, new boxes were installed. I sent the old boxes back to att. Customer service not only did not offer to reimburse me, their was no offer of any discount/credit, or a simple apology. That was $300 in shipping that I should have never had to pay. My service works as expected, the occasional reset, but I am able to do it on my own. I just wish that customer service was still part of the overall picture. What is the purpose to have customer service when the customer is not being service to the best of a company’s ability. I don’t expect to be given $1,000 when my loss was $300. But, just acknowledgement me by making me whole again $300 is not to much to ask for in credits.

I downloaded the app and found that it lacks the ability to turn on or off the receiver boxes. The FAQ says it’s due to technical limitations. Get over it or hire someone who can make it work properly. The freezing streams are to be expected since celular reception varies by area, however the issue of CC is disconcerting to us handicapped people since the programming goes one way while the CC is writing the words of the last commercial!! As for volume controls, that shouldn’t be a biggie either since the Roku app can do it as well as a plethora of other apps that control stereo receivers, TV’s, etc. Your programmers must certainly be able to deal with these issues, and if not then there’s always outside help that can. For the rest I may say it’s a great app that could stand a couple improvements to become wonderful. Keep up the good work.

I can be in my home on my home network with speeds around 24mbps and it still won't play. Picture freezes, sound stops, sound isn't in time with the picture, random jumps forward or backward 30-45 seconds or more. Often it says I don't have access to certain channels, which is a lie, because I do have access it just chooses not to provide them at that time. Terrible experience. Even tried it on my work network at speeds of 56mbps and the same thing happens. This app could be so much better, both features and if it would actually just work. Very disappointing since it is a major part of their marketing of the product that you have access to watch when you are not at home or on other devices in your own home and they can't deliver. How about a discount until you get the product you describe to your customers actually working. Oh, and I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app numerous times, am running the most updated version of both the app and my operating system.

This APP is so convenient & such a plus to be able to have access to. Definitely worth paying your cable bill to be able to enjoy your cable options inside & outside your home. I just recently moved to a new city, currently I do not have a tv in my room but I am able to still access my favorite tv shows & entertainment through my phone. I give this app a 5 star rating just for the convenience of having it. Great way to stay updated & also, pass time through out your day. I was unable to watch one of my favorite shows on tv the other day, could not find the channel or the show on my tv on demand, pulled my phone put & was able to watch the premiere of my show on it. Thanks AT&T, makes you so grateful for the growth in technology.
WiFi vs. Cellular conflict

I have a U-verse package that includes internet & phone. I have unlimited cell service with AT&T also. I would like to know why I can only access my recorded shows on my iPad if I am on WiFi. I have an unlimited cellular plan that my I-Pad is connected to that I can’t use for my recorded shows. I can watch live tv, but not recorded shows. My cellular service has more range than WiFi. I’m not always where I can get to WiFi. I’ve noticed some apps are so insistent on there apps having WiFi access instead of cellular. It almost seems as if they have something against cellular. This app should be able to work with WiFi & cellular when it comes to recorded programs. And in case the thought comes to mind, the On Demand feature doesn’t access every show. I want to be able to access my recorded shows using my cellular connection when I am away from home.
Direct TV come first

Failed since the purchase of Direct TV. I’m still having issues with U-verse. They are trying their best to fade it out but there are people out there that bought into this lousy system years ago and grew to like it. After the purchase of DTV AT&T quite improving U-verse. It’s only going to get worse since the most resent purchase of TW. I’m paying AT&T monthly for TV, phone and internet but if I want to watch a series I have to download the networks app and pay for it when I’m already paying for it!! This is due to the fact that their OnDemand is weak at best. You waited to long to update your Data centers, switches, and fiber. Don’t get me wrong when all else fails copper and the old pulse system will still work. Unfortunately you decided to decrease your battery reserve and pray your generators turn on. Owning spectrum is great but fiber is the future and if you don’t update your servers to accommodate the fiber your ability to provide fast quality service will fail in the near future.

This is a one star review, but they only display the five star reviews at the top of the screen, so you need to View the reviews in date order to see the bad ones. . Sort on reviews by date, and for more than a month the U-verse app has been completely broken and nonfunctional in any useful way on any iOS. The app simply does not function like it is supposed to. It drops channels constantly, judders and stutters, gets the audio sync out. A competing cable company’s app on the same device in the same home (they were both on at the same time for about two weeks) has no problem whatsoever. The app is so lousy it has us rethinking whether we want to even use AT&T since the ability to watch mobile was important.

I have been reading some negative reviews & don't understand why. The way I used the app. is 2 program what I want to watch then watch it at my leisure. Works well & I haven't had any problems. Read the paper in the morning, program what I think I would like 2 C, C it when I have time, then delete it when finished. Works well, without problems. Sounds like my original review, it’s exactly what I would have said again. If anyone reads these reviews & doesn’t enjoy this app, your not watching much TV. Also, if you’re reading a paper or seeing a show on a passing TV while your away, stop & open the app, set it 2 record, watch it when U want when U get home again. It’s really that simple.
App Not Working

Tried everything. AT&T from “India” technical support has no clue. When you can understand them, they read off their scripted response and really offer no help. I have had Uverse for several years and it is ALWAYS an issue. AT&T has some of the worst services and terrible technical support. The amount of money that customers pay, you would think AT&T could provide a service that consistently works. It is like a Mounds Bar. “Sometimes it acts like a Nut and sometimes it does not”. The few times it does work, it is nice but do not get to experience that too often. AT&T makes promises to get your business, then after you are a customer, it’s like they just don’t care or have knowledgeable technicians to resolve the problems. Google it, I am certainly not the only one with this issue. You would think AT&T makes enough profits to handle their business.

Then i found they kept cutting off my cable within 2 weeks “TWICE”. & kept DOUBLE BILLING ME , they tune changed “Oh our policies and Procedures are when your U-verse is cut off due to none payment you are still entitled to pay the bill” Thats the Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, that they don’t even have a Rebuttal “Thats just policy”. Oh but it does work great! As long as you watch the libtard ignorance they want you to watch. Interesting how on home WiFi, or not, certain channels work just fine. All day. Every day. And others are stuck in the same 23 second loop from weeks ago. Delete it and reinstall you may say? Nope. Doesn’t work. Yet those channels that always work... yup, they still work just fine. We all know how big of scam artists att is but it does begin to get very frustrating when there’s a pandemic going on and we aren’t home because some of us are still fortunate to be working and can’t even get information except what they want us to get. Update May 2018: App worked well for a while, prior to latest update. Now a hot mess AGAIN. Connects but can't maintain a steady stream (probably like its app developers). Latest "update" broke what was working. Back to previous review... Malfunction junction, what's your function U-verse app? Never works properly. Constantly crashes, that is, when it starts at all. Garbage app for garbage service. Customers are paying for services they do not receive. Live TV rarely connects; when it does, it constantly crashes. Limited channels available through app, even when you are logged on at home. The website is even worse for this! Amazing! And...Watch foreign language channels? Well, too bad for you...Those will apparently never be available through the app or the website. Thinking seriously to dump cable and try a la carte services. The amount we are paying for substandard services is ridiculous.

The cable and TV service, when operating as contracted, is very good. However, staying operational has been a small battle for me. In the first four months using U-verse, the modem has been replaced twice. Whenever repair service is performed it is necessary to then check the AT&T billing. If you are on a PROMO contract, AT&T could cancel the PROMO rate and replace it with the standard rate explaining that the repair service appears as a ‘New’ installation in their system. This is curious as all documentation and communication leading to the repair service state that client lost both TV and WiFi service and is requesting a repair of the U-verse service. In conclusion, U-verse service is good. The AT&T contract administration is a bit questionable/dicey during the first four months. Can they redeem themselves in the future? Only time will tell.
Awful App

Having issues watching live TV & On Demand movies. Keeps freezing; running slow; in the middle of watching a movie, it will stop with a message that says “temporarily unavailable”. This is not only frustrating, but very disappointing. I’m paying for a service with an app that hardly ever works. I have only had this service for a little over a month & now seriously considering cancelling it. This App is pretty much hit or miss. Good thing I still have Netflix...no issue there or with the Spectrum App I used to have. To whomever is responsible for this App, can you please advocate for more money & resources to fix these issues? I read that Uverse is pretty much going under due the popularity of DirectTV, but, for those of us who tried to get it, but did not have a “direct line of site” this was the only alternative. Again, very disappointed.

I have an iPhone X, so quite capable of handling any app - EXCEPT for the LOUSY, FAKE APP that AT&T touts as being so great. Really? How can an app be great when it won’t even log in to account without “ERROR” caused by app and the MOST ANNOYING message to “try again later”!! I’m so frustrated with this. I just switched from Comcast where I had a streaming app that worked flawlessly! I’m happy to save money getting rid of highway robbery Xfinity, but it appears that “trading down” comes with problems that the provider apparently could care less to fix. What’s even worse? An AT&T tech doing install LAUGHED when I asked about app, stating it never works for him either, and hears the same from 100’s of customers. Here’s my question AT&T, if you can’t make the U-verse app ACTUALLY WORK...why have the darn thing? I’m deleting it AGAIN. I hoped reloading would help, but NOPE, same annoying frustration. I’ve read all the reviews that are like mine and find it hard to understand how this many complaints would be left without the company actually CORRECTING the APP so it WILL WORK!! ONE year contract and then switch again if still no improvement. Tired of these overly high priced cable/internet...packages that makes you pay for crap you don’t want and what you do want, doesn’t work!
Guide limits

You used to be able to see as far into the future with guide on the app as you could on TV but now barely 6 days out. The only thing more aggravating than this idiotic artificial limitation is trying to tell someone at AT&T about it. Handed off to three people (first two in sales) before anyone even understood what I was trying to tell them and then he promised to tell his supervisor about it. Frequently it will refuse to schedule a program for recording for no apparent reason; even though the on screen guide allows it without a problem. This app could and should be great and convenient but it is apparently the ignored “step child” of their service. I should take off another star for the constant pop ups soliciting a positive review of the app.

Great app for on demand and clearing recordings when traveling after watching on demand or live in a different time zone. Would be great if it included accessing recordings, but still useful. Terrible when trying to access the guide to set up new prime time recordings. Have not been able access programming on most nights during prime time over the next 10 days. Constantly no prime time listings, some missing as soon as 1-2 days away. There are even days when the iPad version has listings on nights not on the iPhone version & sometimes the iPhone has listings on nights not on the iPas version.😔

Are all of the AT&T apps crap? I have Directv and cell service. I bundled for a discount and downloaded the myAT&T app which is supposed to give me access to both accounts. I just want to use the remote control feature shown on the apps. It says error with the server when logging in and jumps me over to the Directv app. So I download that. I click to get into tv programs and it jumps me over to another download screen for a third app - the U-verse app. So I’m already into this for two apps, what the heck, let’s try 3...now it says my password contains invalid characters. It’s the same (bleeping) password as the first 2 apps! Why are letters and numbers suddenly invalid? I’m done. Roku has a great remote app and even lets me play the sound through the remote app so I can use the headphones on my phone and mute the tv and not disturb my husband. So Netflix it is.
Remote control function won’t work

I just spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T tech support trying to get the remote control function of this app to connect to my U-Verse receivers. Or to just connect to one - I have 5. I keep getting an error message that says, “U-verse wireless gateway not found,” despite that my phone is clearly connected to my U-verse gateway. Every other function of the app works fine but not the remote, which I was hoping to use to eliminate the extra U-verse remote controls I have lying all over the house. If you’re in app development for AT&T, please investigate this and address it in your next release of this app.

I have a membership to four different streaming services. Three of those apps never give me trouble. Why is your app so bad? 1) Don't even bother with the 'favorites' star. The moment you log out and back on and try to use the favorites link to easily watch your shows, it doesn't work. 2) Don't be a busy person because if you are in the middle of a program and have to pause for too long your show will not continue playing. You will have to completely exit out and reopen the app. 3) I keep getting 'licensing rights' errors when clicking on shows that show in your top menu. If I try to close the app and go back in too many times, I then get a message that I have opened too many sessions. 4) Keep getting errors stating I don't have access to certain channels when I do in fact pay for said access. I have to close and reopen app several times in order to fix. 5) Experiencing a sorely un-missed lag time pixellation that I thought was a thing of the 2000's, not this decade. As I said before, I also have three other streaming apps on my same tablet. I do not have any of these same issues with those other apps. Hire some free college interns to help your IT department figure out how to iron out these kinks.

Looking up the guide is great. Being able to set and manage recordings away from home is great too. Two stars for those. The app will seemingly randomly sign you out. That's not terrible (provided I can remember my password). The most annoying thing is that it won't remember my receivers. If I want to change the channel with my phone/iPad, it always says that I need to set up my receivers. I would sort of be ok with that f it were after app updates, but this is every time I try. After connecting it will work. That last few times, it has had trouble recognizing that I am on my AT&T wireless gateway requiring a gateway restart. I'm not sure why this app has such troubles with this. It seems like there is a quality control issue on the development side.

Don’t waste your time downloading this app, even if you do have iPhone. Doesn’t matter. Only thing that you can do with this is sign into your account and schedule a recording. Live tv offered one option which was some boring news commentary. You would think that you could access your recordings to watch since they have a tv remote in the app. But no, it does nothing! No access to On Demand or your recordings! AT&T needs to get their act together and make their content available to their customers like Directv’s app. For a company so big you’d think they could create a decent app with all that technology. No wonder people are going to Spectrum and other companies. They’re taking a lot of money from us but what exactly are they doing with it? This doesn’t rate 1 star but I had to choose
Rescued from flood aftermath

My review may not connect with most people, but will for friends in and around Baton Rouge after the August 2016 floods. I always liked the app, but didn't use it to watch shows until I had to move to an apartment for nearly nine months. Since I went to the house every day, I left the Internet and cable on there. I had two rooms not damaged or dirty from flood waters. When I needed a break, I still had something to watch during break. But when I returned to the apartment each day I had Internet and basic cable from another company. My favorite shows were not available and that just added to the dismal evenings. One night it all of a sudden dawned on me I could watch "shows" on my iPhone. I could even go upstairs in the apartment, lie down and watch TV. While it was still less than great to be in the apartment, it was soooo much better with the app. I did have a chuckle over realizing my wifi to watch AT&T was coming from a rival. Freda

I love the concept of the “on the go” app to go along with my subscription. Just a few small things would make this a five star app. First, the receiver remote function is great but unreliable. Every time my phone or iPad goes to sleep it loses contact with the receiver and takes about 30 sec. to establish contact once I wake the device up. It would be great if they put a “no sleep” capability when the remote is being used. My Food Network app does this so I don’t have to unlock the device with dirty hands. I would think this can be done on this app as well. Second, local channels cannot be streamed. I use it while local so what’s the difference between using an iPad or a tv (except one doesn’t travel well to soccer games and swim meets).

My favorite feature is the Guide in the app when channel surfing. Being able to scan the guide without interrupting what's playing on screen, having remote control access to TV or switching to Live TV. When I travel, I wish I had more channels. The buffering is just how the Net works believe. I have used 3Mb/sec and watched a whole movie streaming and 1Gb/sec and got lots of buffering especially at prime time. I test my speed and get good results. Consider the 3: source server, ISP and what is my device memory and-or network activity.

I used to love this app from 5 stars to 3 this week -things were easy to find so I could travel and watch shows live, watch recoded shows, watch on demand, update/schedule recordings and delete shows I had watched. Now the delete recordings feature has suddenly stopped working, my recordings are full (with a bunch of shows I’ll never watch) and new shows I love are not recording. BIG bummer. Hope they fix this soon - there are complaints on the forum, so I am not the only one with the problem, but the “fix” Att directs you to is directions on how to delete - that don’t work. Hope they fix the bug soon!

1 star because you added a feature that has only worked for me on 1 show. The “notify me of new episodes” button has only worked for me on 1 show. It does NOT work on 10 other shows I like. I’ve made mention of this before in a review. Does anyone read these reviews and attempt even attempt to correct the issues that we the people, spend our time writing up? When an update comes around, why not make mention of what exactly you fixed or improved, rather than just writing “big fixes”?
Remote Works Again

The remote works again. All the other features like setting a recording, watching certain live shows are great. No issues. I do think it would be great if U-Verse allowed casting to your tv for on-demand shows that are available from the app but not the cable box. Other than that, great service. Prior Review: This app was great until the remote stopped working. No support from ATT. Sound silly? Try having a toddler that only falls asleep watching a cartoon. Being able to change/restart the show from a different room was a godsend!
Consistently Reliable Functionality

UVerse has a winner with its App. It's relatively easy to use, and when you have a problem using any of the functionality the Help and Support sections are very good at troubleshooting and correcting the difficulties. With a good home network connection I've found viewing Live and other content to be of fairly good quality and each revision to the app has made it better. My opinion is that the UVerse app is the best of its kind. Keep improving it AT&T and I'll continue to pay a little more then your competitors to stay with you.

When watching Sports, the feed pixelates and skips so you miss a lot of action. When viewing through other apps, it’s perfect. It’s very frustrating and forces me not to use this feature when it comes to sports. I would complain about not being able to stream sports on CBS, ABC, Fox, or others, but, if it works like the NBC sports stations, they wouldn’t work anyway. I love the concept and when it was introduced, none of these issues were there. Definitely a value add IF it was like it was at inception.

We have been with ATT for years. We continue to stay because of your outstanding customer service. Once again this evening, after being without TV for 24 hours on a few of our receivers, Terrell, did an excellent job at troubleshooting and helping me get back up and running. Not only was he knowledgeable on the technical aspect, but he had an excellent customer presence. From beginning to end he was professional and caring. ATT, you should be honored to have such wonderful people on your team.

The 6.2.4 update was meant to fix the quality, bugs in the app; however, it created the same problems in intended to fix. Before this release, I had minimum problems with the quality, buffering, stalled streaming. AFTER the release, the quality of the streaming starts off bad and the moment the quality clears up, the screen freezes, although I can still hear the sound of the video. This all started after the update. PLEASE fix this. The update didn't work. I've done all the troubleshooting myself: deleted app, cleared the cache, cleared the data, rebooted the internet, etc, etc & none of this has worked! This is beyond frustrating. Please fix this. It's going on week 3/4. And I can't watch anything.

EPIC FAILURE AT&T WHEN WHEN WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE THIS USELESS APP TO WORK WITH IOS 13,??????. This app hasn't worked for a week. Remote will not function, says wireless gateway not found. Tried all the recommended resets to no avail. I've seen others with the same problem, so obviously a problem with the app. Please fix att. This has all occurred since updating to iOS 13. Please update this app.

Let me first say that I normally don’t take the time to leave reviews unless someone/something is really, really good or really, really bad. That being said, ATT uVerse is hands down the WORST cable/streaming provider I have ever used. After coming from Comcast and being able to watch any channel I paid for anywhere: phone, iPad, TV or computer ATT is like going back to the Stone Age. You can’t watch programs you pay for on the U-verse app on your phone/iPad and you can’t watch anything on your computer!!!??? I can’t imagine anyone being satisfied with paying for this type of “service”. I got pulled into switching my cable from Comcast for a free iPhone X and $500 in Visa gift cards. That being said, I am literally counting the days until my contract is up as I will have Comcast installed a couple weeks prior and be cancelling my u-verse service never to return. Simply awful! As a footnote, I’ve had to call customer service 3 months in a row for “corrections” to my monthly bill. If you have ATT, you need to keep an eye on your bill as things promised tend to be forgotten, omitted or left off.
Does not play ANY On Demand content on iOS

Every time I try to view any On Demand movies in the U-Verse app (iPhone and iPad), I get a black screen saying that "there has been an error processing your U-verse TV subscription. Please call customer support... (US0501)". I just spent 3 days on this problem with 3 different tech support reps and no resolution. One hung up on me and another never called me back as promised. One of the troubleshooting webpages they direct you to, suggest that you search these reviews to see if other people have reported your problem! A rep today said "there is an outage with online content on iOS devices". But I first noticed this problem 2 months ago. I can watch my U450 content live in the app, but I can't stream any of it On Demand. I have watched HBO STARZ SHOWTIME etc movies on demand on the u-verse app for several years, so it's really frustrating that AT&T doesn't care that this isn't working anymore. I've been a U-verse customer for over 10 years. If it really is an outage, why don't they warn you when you startup the app? Either it's a known problem, or AT&T has changed its service features and isn't telling us.

I just switched over from Comcast and the Comcast app is way superior over this app. Gives errors all the time, when launching a fav and even when viewing “live” it stops playing and at times will go into a continuous loop where it plays the same scene over and over again when viewing “live”. You can’t even view recordings that you have. The app seems to have worsened since I was last on U-verse 2yrs ago. I’ll probably go back to Comcast in a yr. They should hire some Comcast engineers. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPad mini 4 and both have the same problems. ATT should of put some of that money they just spent trying to get bigger with the time warner deal and make a better product.

We have been without U-verse since Saturday. Very upset about this. We have had three service calls so far. One guy finally got it fixed. It went out again in about 45 minutes and we have to wait another day for a service tech to come out. It was an AT&T installation crew working down the street that caused this problem three days ago, but when we talked to them about it on that day, we were told they didn’t do it and we had to call for a service tech. We are so frustrated to not have wi-fi or U-verse for over three days. We had some contracts to sign via e-mail and could not do it. Horrible service !

Can you say highly disappointed I switched over from sprint to AT&T thinking I’m going to get better service AT&T offers DIRECTV to be watched on your mobile devices and said I would get HBO free however it just doesn’t work I’ve had AT&T for a month now and I’ve been trying to get it installed on my iPhone and my iPad and it continues to says you have entered an incorrect name or something of that nature I called AT&T they gave me another number and then another number and another number then call back in 24 hours and the problem should be resolved really who does that?!! I have yet to watch DIRECTTV or HBO on my mobile devices. If you offer it you should honor it...let me not pay my bill AT&T will harass the hell out of me!
Won’t work on home network anymore

The previous version of this app allowed me to use it on my home network. This was great for being able to watch stuff in the kitchen where we don’t have a TV. The new app works everyone BUT on my home network (my guess is that ATT would rather I pay for additional receivers)... problem is I don’t want additional TELEVISIONS. Great for travel, but now my primary use for this app is gone, and so are three of a five possible five stars because of it. This new change is stupid.

I start my day with the Today Show. I was with the same cable company for 18 yrs. I knew they were ripping me off and the service was horrible. But, we didn’t have many choices where I live. This nice guy happen the to catch me one day and he sat out on my porch with me and he didn’t have to really convince me. I am saving a little over $80 a month. Internet is awesome, so far everything is.......except on tiny thing. When using the app to watch tv I can not get the Today Show! What is up with that?

We had the DirecTV Now app but were offered a bundling discount with our phone and internet to get the uverse app. Everything we don't like: - there are MANY shows that I cannot watch live if I am not at my house. This has proven to be very annoying as we like to watch football games when we are out and about - we can't watch uverse on our laptop so I am stuck watching my phone when traveling - we can't skip through commercials on recordings. This is especially annoying considering I can only watch on my phone so I can't even kill time on social media while the commercials play - it is not user friendly. I was never confused by my DirecTV Now app but I have been confused several times with this app. Sometimes it let's you record something yet I am unable to watch the show live. I've searched for shows before and couldn't figure out why I couldn't watch them live. - I think I am paying more money for fewer live channels than my DirecTV Now. I am sure we will cancel this soon. What a disappointment.

The u-verse service is completely awful! If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The upload speed is ridiculously slow, with no way of upgrading, and that is when it is working at all. The internet service is constantly dropping, making the tv goes in and out and even when the signal is working, the WiFi is atrocious. I have called customer service numerous times and they have repeatedly upgraded my system or switched the WiFi settings and guess what? The service keeps getting worse. My husband can no longer work from home because the service has gotten so bad. Don’t waste you time with this service. My family is planning on switching as soon as possible.

I love that I can walk around my home and watch the evening and morning news on this app. It has become an important part of my daily routines. With that said, I often (daily) find myself frustrated with how unreliable this app is. It stops often to inform me that it cannot pick up the internet and therefore will be using data to run and then it stops again 1 minute later to inform me of the same thing despite the fact that my location has not changed. It often has lapses in broadcasting and causes me to miss pertinent information. I wish there was another way.
Receiver connection often lost

This iPhone app regularly loses connection with the receiver, even when it is the ONLY receiver set up. It also intermittently re-connects to the receiver, and you never know under what circumstances disconnections or re-connections occur! This app is especially important to U-verse users because U-verse’s Program Guide screen accessed from a U-verse remote results, over time, to screen burn-in of the colored A, B & C icons because those icons remain STATIC on one’s screen throughout the Program Guide screen use!! This app is the ONLY way to view the Guide (on one’s iPhone, iPad, etc) that can avoid screen burn-in using the remote. It’s a shame that using the app OR the remote each have an issue that frustrates the U-verse user.

This used to be the worst app of any I had but has improved by fits and starts. It bugs the daylights out of me to have to answer two loaded survey questions in order to use it. Hey, AT&T—isn’t it enough for you to get hundreds of my dollars every month? You have to run fake customer satisfaction surveys, too? I know it’s not a serious request for opinions because you would give me a way to give my opinion rather than just pick one of a few responses that have nothing to do with what I want or how I use your app. Just one more display of your corporate arrogance, I guess!😡😡😡

I’m writing this review because I’m really upset with the service. I’m in career field were you really never at home and I must use TV apps in order to watch TV. So I go to my app today knowing that my show comes on. It recorded because I’m able to see it in the app; although, I can’t view them. I realize that I can’t view anything I recorded unless it’s on demand or if I’m at home and I think that’s unfair to us customers. The price we pay we should be able to view any show that is recorded and I think they need to realize that an make it an option is. That is my only con about this TV service.

I’ve been trying to use U-verse app for about 5 years and it’s got worse by day. To begin with, very expensive mythological U-verse wi-fi, should I say more? I’m using it as background noise in my office where I don’t want to add another TV set. I keep looking for competitors ever since we signed up for u-verse. Never-ever again I’ll be their customer. Everyone I know is disgusted by u-verse and yet we are the suckers keep paying for crapy service. U-verse app drops the picture, freezes after every commercial break, either sound is not coming or picture, kicks out and prompts to re-enter log in info or states some bogus error, constant prompts to succumb to Nielsen railings. Anyone who uses this app, I can guarantee you’ll be disgusted.

The app had been working great before Covid 19. I was able to watch on demand and live shows away from the house. Since Covid 19 I open the app and select something to watch and the application shuts down. Is this due to AT&T not having enough band width for this application over the air? Called customer service and they couldn’t or wouldn’t answer this question.

1. Why can’t I locate a support contact for the U-Verse app? 2. I’ve logged out and reinstalled the app, and restarted my phone. Still, when I go to watch a live tv show, the app continues to play the content I aborted FOUR days ago. I can’t watch the channel live, the app continues to replay the same 2 minutes of content over and over again - and a stupid commercial at that! All other channels are fine. I’ve even tried letting it play for 30 minutes to see if the app will realize it’s not live. How to I fix this? I’ve moved and my TV/Internet can’t be installed until next week. I’m 100% reliant upon my iPhone 7 Plus.

Overall, this app is good, especially when compared to other tv provider apps. One star due to major streaming problem with several channels. Golf channel consistently delivering a distorted/blurred picture. Fox News (210) not working at all by repeating the same point in a show continuously followed by losing the audio all together. Fix these major issues and 5 stars is certainly warranted.

The live channels offered, on demand library, and DVR management are good...not great and could be better. Local channels would be an improvement, the on demand library selection could be broader...more is better right? I can live with those things. But the streaming performance is horrible, definitely the worse by far when compared to any paid app or subscription service. And I’ve had free streaming apps that perform much better than this one. The application crashes frequently, streaming freezes and will loop backwards/forwards 15 - 30 seconds, video freezes while sound continues...especially during certain times of the day. I used to think my home WiFi was the problem, however Speedtest shows 125 down and up with 9ms ping, low jitter and no packet loss and U-verse streaming still has these issues. I experience this on both my iPhone and iPad, so it’s specific to a single device. I believe the issues are due to anything in my environment and am considering some changes if AT&T will not devote more attention and resources to this piece of the service. We’re it not for the performance problems, I would rate the app a 4.

Constantly losses connection when trying to use the app as a remote - then it won’t be able to find the receiver. Pretty ridiculous and not consistent. Sometimes it will connect, but the other 90% of the time, you’ll close the app and reopen it, and the connection will be lost and you have to go through the whole phone setup again - which doesn’t work 95% of the time. Not worth the time or trouble frankly. Fix this broken app. I have no absolute idea how it has 5 stars!

FOUR years ago (2-29-2016) our local stations CBS and NBC switched National affiliates and ownership (yes, different). CBS became NBC (WRAL local) and local affiliate WNCN took over CBS (which was previously on WRAL CBS) shows etc This APP never caught up to the change - 4 years later! The logo and listings and channels and lineup are all wrong - 4 years later. Looking for a show on NBC - oops got to look under CBS! Take some time and please fix this garbage app. While u r all working from home would be the perfect opportunity to really dig in and fix the unstable situation of this app. I spend more time un-freezing, refreshing and rebooting this app than watching a show. Wish I could rate it a negative. For as much as I’m paying for cable and Internet service this app should work WAY BETTER! 90% of the time the screen is frozen, or there is no sound, or there is a lag. You can’t watch your dvr recorded shows on the app. VERY DISSATISFIED TO SAY THE LEAST!

I’m so happy to be a subscriber to U-Verse. I regularly travel between my home and my daughter’s home for late night babysitting. I can access my favorite channels, plug in the headphones and not disturb the children’s night sleep. I especially love the data free tv on long road trips. We don’t have to lug any DVD’s nor worry about going over our data plans!!!

This app works as it says but I would love it if one could watch and download a recorded program and watch it on iPad/iPhone offline. I’ve seen this option with other cable companies and it’s a fantastic option. Love to catch up on programs on a flight, etc.

The app will not let me delete some of the shows i recorded from the tv or the app. I watch them on tv, can delete shows on tv, but it will not delete them on the app. I go to app and try to delete the old shows , but it will not delete them. They look like they were deleted, but when I go back into the app the old shows are still there! I need help. I do like that I can add recordings remotely. Thanks.

I constantly get a never ending loading icon and usually it gets to a “cant load player” or something. Quality is not consistent at all, and I can’t even begin numerous shows. It takes multiple tries to load before it maybe works for 5 minutes. Please get some stability or something for this app it’s not that good, especially when I can’t just use the website on my computer to watch things.

#1 Please update this app. When I watch the Disney channel what’s showing on the app is not the same as what’s showing on a regular TV. The app says what’s showing is the same as the Disney channel on a regular TV but as soon as the video starts on the app it’s not what the info says is playing on the Disney channel. Other channels are doing the same as the Disney channel. We’re that say something is on and I click on the channel to find out what they say is on is not what is showing on that channel. #2 Please fix the subtitles. They are not in sink. For example when someone is talking in any video. The subtitle changes before the person talking can finish what they are saying. The subtitles seem to be ahead of all videos in this app. And sometimes the subtitles show up after the person in the video is finished talking. And sometimes the person starts talking and well in the middle of the sentence the subtitle shows up on the screen. So really I don’t know when the subtitles will show up on the screen. I’m talking about everything that is shown on this app not just movies. #3 Once and a while when I open the app it comes up saying do you like the app. Yes or no? Please stop asking that once and a while. It’s annoying to see that pop up once and a while when I open the app. No I’m not asking for it to pop up another time when I have the app open I’m asking for it to not show up anymore.

As a person that’s limited in activities they’re able to do for health reasons the tv and internet is my main path to the outside world. I’ve had all other tv providers and U-verse and the U-verse app are great. I can watch my recorded shows while I wait at my Drs office instead of reading the provided 10 year old magazines if I’ve forgotten my book. So I can always take or recorrd my shows if I forget. All in all so far as a customer of just a month so far I couldn’t be more happier. The only two drawbacks that I see are lack of on demand that stinks and the price. I can live with those the price isn’t so high that I would not have gotten it or make me unhappy with it and the in demand i can live with because you can download the apps for whatever channel you watch and because of your U-verse subscription you will be able to watch they’re online content which is what’s on demand anyway. So all in all I think that U-verse is a great tv choice all the way around.

I have been a customer since 2009 and I am mostly happy with my service. Customer service has been quite disappointing in times that I had to reach out: my relocation was a disaster I was told to bring my boxes from IL to CA, very expensive shipping. Then when the tech came he informed me customer service should have never told you that, new boxes were installed. I sent the old boxes back to att. Customer service not only did not offer to reimburse me, their was no offer of any discount/credit, or a simple apology. That was $300 in shipping that I should have never had to pay. My service works as expected, the occasional reset, but I am able to do it on my own. I just wish that customer service was still part of the overall picture. What is the purpose to have customer service when the customer is not being service to the best of a company’s ability. I don’t expect to be given $1,000 when my loss was $300. But, just acknowledgement me by making me whole again $300 is not to much to ask for in credits.

I downloaded the app and found that it lacks the ability to turn on or off the receiver boxes. The FAQ says it’s due to technical limitations. Get over it or hire someone who can make it work properly. The freezing streams are to be expected since celular reception varies by area, however the issue of CC is disconcerting to us handicapped people since the programming goes one way while the CC is writing the words of the last commercial!! As for volume controls, that shouldn’t be a biggie either since the Roku app can do it as well as a plethora of other apps that control stereo receivers, TV’s, etc. Your programmers must certainly be able to deal with these issues, and if not then there’s always outside help that can. For the rest I may say it’s a great app that could stand a couple improvements to become wonderful. Keep up the good work.

I can be in my home on my home network with speeds around 24mbps and it still won't play. Picture freezes, sound stops, sound isn't in time with the picture, random jumps forward or backward 30-45 seconds or more. Often it says I don't have access to certain channels, which is a lie, because I do have access it just chooses not to provide them at that time. Terrible experience. Even tried it on my work network at speeds of 56mbps and the same thing happens. This app could be so much better, both features and if it would actually just work. Very disappointing since it is a major part of their marketing of the product that you have access to watch when you are not at home or on other devices in your own home and they can't deliver. How about a discount until you get the product you describe to your customers actually working. Oh, and I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app numerous times, am running the most updated version of both the app and my operating system.

This APP is so convenient & such a plus to be able to have access to. Definitely worth paying your cable bill to be able to enjoy your cable options inside & outside your home. I just recently moved to a new city, currently I do not have a tv in my room but I am able to still access my favorite tv shows & entertainment through my phone. I give this app a 5 star rating just for the convenience of having it. Great way to stay updated & also, pass time through out your day. I was unable to watch one of my favorite shows on tv the other day, could not find the channel or the show on my tv on demand, pulled my phone put & was able to watch the premiere of my show on it. Thanks AT&T, makes you so grateful for the growth in technology.
WiFi vs. Cellular conflict

I have a U-verse package that includes internet & phone. I have unlimited cell service with AT&T also. I would like to know why I can only access my recorded shows on my iPad if I am on WiFi. I have an unlimited cellular plan that my I-Pad is connected to that I can’t use for my recorded shows. I can watch live tv, but not recorded shows. My cellular service has more range than WiFi. I’m not always where I can get to WiFi. I’ve noticed some apps are so insistent on there apps having WiFi access instead of cellular. It almost seems as if they have something against cellular. This app should be able to work with WiFi & cellular when it comes to recorded programs. And in case the thought comes to mind, the On Demand feature doesn’t access every show. I want to be able to access my recorded shows using my cellular connection when I am away from home.

Failed since the purchase of Direct TV. I’m still having issues with U-verse. They are trying their best to fade it out but there are people out there that bought into this lousy system years ago and grew to like it. After the purchase of DTV AT&T quite improving U-verse. It’s only going to get worse since the most resent purchase of TW. I’m paying AT&T monthly for TV, phone and internet but if I want to watch a series I have to download the networks app and pay for it when I’m already paying for it!! This is due to the fact that their OnDemand is weak at best. You waited to long to update your Data centers, switches, and fiber. Don’t get me wrong when all else fails copper and the old pulse system will still work. Unfortunately you decided to decrease your battery reserve and pray your generators turn on. Owning spectrum is great but fiber is the future and if you don’t update your servers to accommodate the fiber your ability to provide fast quality service will fail in the near future.

This is a one star review, but they only display the five star reviews at the top of the screen, so you need to View the reviews in date order to see the bad ones. . Sort on reviews by date, and for more than a month the U-verse app has been completely broken and nonfunctional in any useful way on any iOS. The app simply does not function like it is supposed to. It drops channels constantly, judders and stutters, gets the audio sync out. A competing cable company’s app on the same device in the same home (they were both on at the same time for about two weeks) has no problem whatsoever. The app is so lousy it has us rethinking whether we want to even use AT&T since the ability to watch mobile was important.

I have been reading some negative reviews & don't understand why. The way I used the app. is 2 program what I want to watch then watch it at my leisure. Works well & I haven't had any problems. Read the paper in the morning, program what I think I would like 2 C, C it when I have time, then delete it when finished. Works well, without problems. Sounds like my original review, it’s exactly what I would have said again. If anyone reads these reviews & doesn’t enjoy this app, your not watching much TV. Also, if you’re reading a paper or seeing a show on a passing TV while your away, stop & open the app, set it 2 record, watch it when U want when U get home again. It’s really that simple.

Tried everything. AT&T from “India” technical support has no clue. When you can understand them, they read off their scripted response and really offer no help. I have had Uverse for several years and it is ALWAYS an issue. AT&T has some of the worst services and terrible technical support. The amount of money that customers pay, you would think AT&T could provide a service that consistently works. It is like a Mounds Bar. “Sometimes it acts like a Nut and sometimes it does not”. The few times it does work, it is nice but do not get to experience that too often. AT&T makes promises to get your business, then after you are a customer, it’s like they just don’t care or have knowledgeable technicians to resolve the problems. Google it, I am certainly not the only one with this issue. You would think AT&T makes enough profits to handle their business.

Then i found they kept cutting off my cable within 2 weeks “TWICE”. & kept DOUBLE BILLING ME , they tune changed “Oh our policies and Procedures are when your U-verse is cut off due to none payment you are still entitled to pay the bill” Thats the Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, that they don’t even have a Rebuttal “Thats just policy”. Oh but it does work great! As long as you watch the libtard ignorance they want you to watch. Interesting how on home WiFi, or not, certain channels work just fine. All day. Every day. And others are stuck in the same 23 second loop from weeks ago. Delete it and reinstall you may say? Nope. Doesn’t work. Yet those channels that always work... yup, they still work just fine. Update May 2018: App worked well for a while, prior to latest update. Now a hot mess AGAIN. Connects but can't maintain a steady stream (probably like its app developers). Latest "update" broke what was working. Back to previous review... Malfunction junction, what's your function U-verse app? Never works properly. Constantly crashes, that is, when it starts at all. Garbage app for garbage service. Customers are paying for services they do not receive. Live TV rarely connects; when it does, it constantly crashes. Limited channels available through app, even when you are logged on at home. The website is even worse for this! Amazing! And...Watch foreign language channels? Well, too bad for you...Those will apparently never be available through the app or the website. Thinking seriously to dump cable and try a la carte services. The amount we are paying for substandard services is ridiculous.

The cable and TV service, when operating as contracted, is very good. However, staying operational has been a small battle for me. In the first four months using U-verse, the modem has been replaced twice. Whenever repair service is performed it is necessary to then check the AT&T billing. If you are on a PROMO contract, AT&T could cancel the PROMO rate and replace it with the standard rate explaining that the repair service appears as a ‘New’ installation in their system. This is curious as all documentation and communication leading to the repair service state that client lost both TV and WiFi service and is requesting a repair of the U-verse service. In conclusion, U-verse service is good. The AT&T contract administration is a bit questionable/dicey during the first four months. Can they redeem themselves in the future? Only time will tell.

Having issues watching live TV & On Demand movies. Keeps freezing; running slow; in the middle of watching a movie, it will stop with a message that says “temporarily unavailable”. This is not only frustrating, but very disappointing. I’m paying for a service with an app that hardly ever works. I have only had this service for a little over a month & now seriously considering cancelling it. This App is pretty much hit or miss. Good thing I still have Netflix...no issue there or with the Spectrum App I used to have. To whomever is responsible for this App, can you please advocate for more money & resources to fix these issues? I read that Uverse is pretty much going under due the popularity of DirectTV, but, for those of us who tried to get it, but did not have a “direct line of site” this was the only alternative. Again, very disappointed.

I have an iPhone X, so quite capable of handling any app - EXCEPT for the LOUSY, FAKE APP that AT&T touts as being so great. Really? How can an app be great when it won’t even log in to account without “ERROR” caused by app and the MOST ANNOYING message to “try again later”!! I’m so frustrated with this. I just switched from Comcast where I had a streaming app that worked flawlessly! I’m happy to save money getting rid of highway robbery Xfinity, but it appears that “trading down” comes with problems that the provider apparently could care less to fix. What’s even worse? An AT&T tech doing install LAUGHED when I asked about app, stating it never works for him either, and hears the same from 100’s of customers. Here’s my question AT&T, if you can’t make the U-verse app ACTUALLY WORK...why have the darn thing? I’m deleting it AGAIN. I hoped reloading would help, but NOPE, same annoying frustration. I’ve read all the reviews that are like mine and find it hard to understand how this many complaints would be left without the company actually CORRECTING the APP so it WILL WORK!! ONE year contract and then switch again if still no improvement. You used to be able to see as far into the future with guide on the app as you could on TV but now barely 6 days out. The only thing more aggravating than this idiotic artificial limitation is trying to tell someone at AT&T about it. Handed off to three people (first two in sales) before anyone even understood what I was trying to tell them and then he promised to tell his supervisor about it. Frequently it will refuse to schedule a program for recording for no apparent reason; even though the on screen guide allows it without a problem. This app could and should be great and convenient but it is apparently the ignored “step child” of their service. I should take off another star for the constant pop ups soliciting a positive review of the app.

Great app for on demand and clearing recordings when traveling after watching on demand or live in a different time zone. Would be great if it included accessing recordings, but still useful. Terrible when trying to access the guide to set up new prime time recordings. Have not been able access programming on most nights during prime time over the next 10 days. Constantly no prime time listings, some missing as soon as 1-2 days away. There are even days when the iPad version has listings on nights not on the iPhone version & sometimes the iPhone has listings on nights not on the iPas version.😔

Are all of the AT&T apps crap? I have Directv and cell service. I bundled for a discount and downloaded the myAT&T app which is supposed to give me access to both accounts. I just want to use the remote control feature shown on the apps. It says error with the server when logging in and jumps me over to the Directv app. So I download that. I click to get into tv programs and it jumps me over to another download screen for a third app - the U-verse app. So I’m already into this for two apps, what the heck, let’s try 3...now it says my password contains invalid characters. It’s the same (bleeping) password as the first 2 apps! Why are letters and numbers suddenly invalid? I’m done. Roku has a great remote app and even lets me play the sound through the remote app so I can use the headphones on my phone and mute the tv and not disturb my husband. So Netflix it is.

I just spent over an hour on the phone with AT&T tech support trying to get the remote control function of this app to connect to my U-Verse receivers. Or to just connect to one - I have 5. I keep getting an error message that says, “U-verse wireless gateway not found,” despite that my phone is clearly connected to my U-verse gateway. Every other function of the app works fine but not the remote, which I was hoping to use to eliminate the extra U-verse remote controls I have lying all over the house. If you’re in app development for AT&T, please investigate this and address it in your next release of this app.

I have a membership to four different streaming services. Three of those apps never give me trouble. Why is your app so bad? 1) Don't even bother with the 'favorites' star. The moment you log out and back on and try to use the favorites link to easily watch your shows, it doesn't work. 2) Don't be a busy person because if you are in the middle of a program and have to pause for too long your show will not continue playing. You will have to completely exit out and reopen the app. 3) I keep getting 'licensing rights' errors when clicking on shows that show in your top menu. If I try to close the app and go back in too many times, I then get a message that I have opened too many sessions. 4) Keep getting errors stating I don't have access to certain channels when I do in fact pay for said access. I have to close and reopen app several times in order to fix. 5) Experiencing a sorely un-missed lag time pixellation that I thought was a thing of the 2000's, not this decade. As I said before, I also have three other streaming apps on my same tablet. I do not have any of these same issues with those other apps. Hire some free college interns to help your IT department figure out how to iron out these kinks.

Looking up the guide is great. Being able to set and manage recordings away from home is great too. Two stars for those. The app will seemingly randomly sign you out. That's not terrible (provided I can remember my password). The most annoying thing is that it won't remember my receivers. If I want to change the channel with my phone/iPad, it always says that I need to set up my receivers. I would sort of be ok with that f it were after app updates, but this is every time I try. After connecting it will work. That last few times, it has had trouble recognizing that I am on my AT&T wireless gateway requiring a gateway restart. I'm not sure why this app has such troubles with this. It seems like there is a quality control issue on the development side.

Don’t waste your time downloading this app, even if you do have iPhone. Doesn’t matter. Only thing that you can do with this is sign into your account and schedule a recording. Live tv offered one option which was some boring news commentary. You would think that you could access your recordings to watch since they have a tv remote in the app. But no, it does nothing! No access to On Demand or your recordings! AT&T needs to get their act together and make their content available to their customers like Directv’s app. For a company so big you’d think they could create a decent app with all that technology. No wonder people are going to Spectrum and other companies. They’re taking a lot of money from us but what exactly are they doing with it? This doesn’t rate 1 star but I had to choose
Rescued from flood aftermath

My review may not connect with most people, but will for friends in and around Baton Rouge after the August 2016 floods. I always liked the app, but didn't use it to watch shows until I had to move to an apartment for nearly nine months. Since I went to the house every day, I left the Internet and cable on there. I had two rooms not damaged or dirty from flood waters. When I needed a break, I still had something to watch during break. But when I returned to the apartment each day I had Internet and basic cable from another company. My favorite shows were not available and that just added to the dismal evenings. One night it all of a sudden dawned on me I could watch "shows" on my iPhone. I could even go upstairs in the apartment, lie down and watch TV. I love the concept of the “on the go” app to go along with my subscription. Just a few small things would make this a five star app. First, the receiver remote function is great but unreliable. Every time my phone or iPad goes to sleep it loses contact with the receiver and takes about 30 sec. to establish contact once I wake the device up. It would be great if they put a “no sleep” capability when the remote is being used. My Food Network app does this so I don’t have to unlock the device with dirty hands. I would think this can be done on this app as well. Second, local channels cannot be streamed. I use it while local so what’s the difference between using an iPad or a tv (except one doesn’t travel well to soccer games and swim meets).
The many things it does enhances the TV experience

My favorite feature is the Guide in the app when channel surfing. Being able to scan the guide without interrupting what's playing on screen, having remote control access to TV or switching to Live TV. When I travel, I wish I had more channels. The buffering is just how the Net works believe. I have used 3Mb/sec and watched a whole movie streaming and 1Gb/sec and got lots of buffering especially at prime time. I test my speed and get good results. Consider the 3: source server, ISP and what is my device memory and-or network activity.

I used to love this app from 5 stars to 3 this week -things were easy to find so I could travel and watch shows live, watch recoded shows, watch on demand, update/schedule recordings and delete shows I had watched. Now the delete recordings feature has suddenly stopped working, my recordings are full (with a bunch of shows I’ll never watch) and new shows I love are not recording. BIG bummer. Hope they fix this soon - there are complaints on the forum, so I am not the only one with the problem, but the “fix” Att directs you to is directions on how to delete - that don’t work. Hope they fix the bug soon!
“Notify me of new episodes”

1 star because you added a feature that has only worked for me on 1 show. The “notify me of new episodes” button has only worked for me on 1 show. It does NOT work on 10 other shows I like. I’ve made mention of this before in a review. Does anyone read these reviews and attempt even attempt to correct the issues that we the people, spend our time writing up? When an update comes around, why not make mention of what exactly you fixed or improved, rather than just writing “big fixes”?
Remote Works Again

The remote works again. All the other features like setting a recording, watching certain live shows are great. No issues. I do think it would be great if U-Verse allowed casting to your tv for on-demand shows that are available from the app but not the cable box. Other than that, great service. Prior Review: This app was great until the remote stopped working. No support from ATT. Sound silly? Try having a toddler that only falls asleep watching a cartoon. Being able to change/restart the show from a different room was a godsend!
Consistently Reliable Functionality

UVerse has a winner with its App. It's relatively easy to use, and when you have a problem using any of the functionality the Help and Support sections are very good at troubleshooting and correcting the difficulties. With a good home network connection I've found viewing Live and other content to be of fairly good quality and each revision to the app has made it better. My opinion is that the UVerse app is the best of its kind. Keep improving it AT&T and I'll continue to pay a little more then your competitors to stay with you.

When watching Sports, the feed pixelates and skips so you miss a lot of action. When viewing through other apps, it’s perfect. It’s very frustrating and forces me not to use this feature when it comes to sports. I would complain about not being able to stream sports on CBS, ABC, Fox, or others, but, if it works like the NBC sports stations, they wouldn’t work anyway. I love the concept and when it was introduced, none of these issues were there. Definitely a value add IF it was like it was at inception.

We have been with ATT for years. We continue to stay because of your outstanding customer service. Once again this evening, after being without TV for 24 hours on a few of our receivers, Terrell, did an excellent job at troubleshooting and helping me get back up and running. Not only was he knowledgeable on the technical aspect, but he had an excellent customer presence. From beginning to end he was professional and caring. ATT, you should be honored to have such wonderful people on your team.

The 6.2.4 update was meant to fix the quality, bugs in the app; however, it created the same problems in intended to fix. Before this release, I had minimum problems with the quality, buffering, stalled streaming. AFTER the release, the quality of the streaming starts off bad and the moment the quality clears up, the screen freezes, although I can still hear the sound of the video. This all started after the update. PLEASE fix this. The update didn't work. I've done all the troubleshooting myself: deleted app, cleared the cache, cleared the data, rebooted the internet, etc, etc & none of this has worked! This is beyond frustrating. Please fix this. It's going on week 3/4. And I can't watch anything.
Wireless gateway not found

Time to delete this app. Obviously att isn't ever going to fix it. Would give zero stars if I could. EPIC FAILURE AT&T WHEN WHEN WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO UPDATE THIS USELESS APP TO WORK WITH IOS 13,??????. This app hasn't worked for a week. Remote will not function, says wireless gateway not found. Tried all the recommended resets to no avail. I've seen others with the same problem, so obviously a problem with the app. Please fix att. This has all occurred since updating to iOS 13. Please update this app.

Let me first say that I normally don’t take the time to leave reviews unless someone/something is really, really good or really, really bad. That being said, ATT uVerse is hands down the WORST cable/streaming provider I have ever used. After coming from Comcast and being able to watch any channel I paid for anywhere: phone, iPad, TV or computer ATT is like going back to the Stone Age. You can’t watch programs you pay for on the U-verse app on your phone/iPad and you can’t watch anything on your computer!!!??? I can’t imagine anyone being satisfied with paying for this type of “service”. I got pulled into switching my cable from Comcast for a free iPhone X and $500 in Visa gift cards. That being said, I am literally counting the days until my contract is up as I will have Comcast installed a couple weeks prior and be cancelling my u-verse service never to return. Simply awful! As a footnote, I’ve had to call customer service 3 months in a row for “corrections” to my monthly bill. If you have ATT, you need to keep an eye on your bill as things promised tend to be forgotten, omitted or left off.
Does not play ANY On Demand content on iOS

Every time I try to view any On Demand movies in the U-Verse app (iPhone and iPad), I get a black screen saying that "there has been an error processing your U-verse TV subscription. Please call customer support... (US0501)". I just spent 3 days on this problem with 3 different tech support reps and no resolution. One hung up on me and another never called me back as promised. One of the troubleshooting webpages they direct you to, suggest that you search these reviews to see if other people have reported your problem! A rep today said "there is an outage with online content on iOS devices". But I first noticed this problem 2 months ago. I can watch my U450 content live in the app, but I can't stream any of it On Demand. I have watched HBO STARZ SHOWTIME etc movies on demand on the u-verse app for several years, so it's really frustrating that AT&T doesn't care that this isn't working anymore. I've been a U-verse customer for over 10 years. If it really is an outage, why don't they warn you when you startup the app? Either it's a known problem, or AT&T has changed its service features and isn't telling us.
U-verse apps is terrible compared to Comcast

I just switched over from Comcast and the Comcast app is way superior over this app. Gives errors all the time, when launching a fav and even when viewing “live” it stops playing and at times will go into a continuous loop where it plays the same scene over and over again when viewing “live”. You can’t even view recordings that you have. The app seems to have worsened since I was last on U-verse 2yrs ago. I’ll probably go back to Comcast in a yr. They should hire some Comcast engineers. I have an iPhone 7 Plus and an iPad mini 4 and both have the same problems. ATT should of put some of that money they just spent trying to get bigger with the time warner deal and make a better product.
U-verse service

We have been without U-verse since Saturday. Very upset about this. We have had three service calls so far. One guy finally got it fixed. It went out again in about 45 minutes and we have to wait another day for a service tech to come out. It was an AT&T installation crew working down the street that caused this problem three days ago, but when we talked to them about it on that day, we were told they didn’t do it and we had to call for a service tech. We are so frustrated to not have wi-fi or U-verse for over three days. We had some contracts to sign via e-mail and could not do it. Horrible service !

Can you say highly disappointed I switched over from sprint to AT&T thinking I’m going to get better service AT&T offers DIRECTV to be watched on your mobile devices and said I would get HBO free however it just doesn’t work I’ve had AT&T for a month now and I’ve been trying to get it installed on my iPhone and my iPad and it continues to says you have entered an incorrect name or something of that nature I called AT&T they gave me another number and then another number and another number then call back in 24 hours and the problem should be resolved really who does that?!! I have yet to watch DIRECTTV or HBO on my mobile devices. If you offer it you should honor it...let me not pay my bill AT&T will harass the hell out of me!
Won’t work on home network anymore

The previous version of this app allowed me to use it on my home network. This was great for being able to watch stuff in the kitchen where we don’t have a TV. The new app works everyone BUT on my home network (my guess is that ATT would rather I pay for additional receivers)... problem is I don’t want additional TELEVISIONS. Great for travel, but now my primary use for this app is gone, and so are three of a five possible five stars because of it. This new change is stupid.

I start my day with the Today Show. I was with the same cable company for 18 yrs. I knew they were ripping me off and the service was horrible. But, we didn’t have many choices where I live. This nice guy happen the to catch me one day and he sat out on my porch with me and he didn’t have to really convince me. I am saving a little over $80 a month. Internet is awesome, so far everything is.......except on tiny thing. When using the app to watch tv I can not get the Today Show! What is up with that?

We had the DirecTV Now app but were offered a bundling discount with our phone and internet to get the uverse app. Everything we don't like: - there are MANY shows that I cannot watch live if I am not at my house. This has proven to be very annoying as we like to watch football games when we are out and about - we can't watch uverse on our laptop so I am stuck watching my phone when traveling - we can't skip through commercials on recordings. This is especially annoying considering I can only watch on my phone so I can't even kill time on social media while the commercials play - it is not user friendly. I was never confused by my DirecTV Now app but I have been confused several times with this app. Sometimes it let's you record something yet I am unable to watch the show live. I've searched for shows before and couldn't figure out why I couldn't watch them live. - I think I am paying more money for fewer live channels than my DirecTV Now. I am sure we will cancel this soon. What a disappointment.
Terrible Service

The u-verse service is completely awful! If I could give it 0 stars, I would. The upload speed is ridiculously slow, with no way of upgrading, and that is when it is working at all. The internet service is constantly dropping, making the tv goes in and out and even when the signal is working, the WiFi is atrocious. I have called customer service numerous times and they have repeatedly upgraded my system or switched the WiFi settings and guess what? The service keeps getting worse. My husband can no longer work from home because the service has gotten so bad. Don’t waste you time with this service. My family is planning on switching as soon as possible.
Unreliable

I love that I can walk around my home and watch the evening and morning news on this app. It has become an important part of my daily routines. With that said, I often (daily) find myself frustrated with how unreliable this app is. It stops often to inform me that it cannot pick up the internet and therefore will be using data to run and then it stops again 1 minute later to inform me of the same thing despite the fact that my location has not changed. It often has lapses in broadcasting and causes me to miss pertinent information. I wish there was another way.
Receiver connection often lost

This iPhone app regularly loses connection with the receiver, even when it is the ONLY receiver set up. It also intermittently re-connects to the receiver, and you never know under what circumstances disconnections or re-connections occur! This app is especially important to U-verse users because U-verse’s Program Guide screen accessed from a U-verse remote results, over time, to screen burn-in of the colored A, B & C icons because those icons remain STATIC on one’s screen throughout the Program Guide screen use!! This app is the ONLY way to view the Guide (on one’s iPhone, iPad, etc) that can avoid screen burn-in using the remote. It’s a shame that using the app OR the remote each have an issue that frustrates the U-verse user.
Worked For a While

This used to be the worst app of any I had but has improved by fits and starts. It bugs the daylights out of me to have to answer two loaded survey questions in order to use it. Hey, AT&T—isn’t it enough for you to get hundreds of my dollars every month? You have to run fake customer satisfaction surveys, too? I know it’s not a serious request for opinions because you would give me a way to give my opinion rather than just pick one of a few responses that have nothing to do with what I want or how I use your app. Just one more display of your corporate arrogance, I guess!😡😡😡

I’m writing this review because I’m really upset with the service. I’m in career field were you really never at home and I must use TV apps in order to watch TV. So I go to my app today knowing that my show comes on. It recorded because I’m able to see it in the app; although, I can’t view them. I realize that I can’t view anything I recorded unless it’s on demand or if I’m at home and I think that’s unfair to us customers. The price we pay we should be able to view any show that is recorded and I think they need to realize that an make it an option is. That is my only con about this TV service.

I’ve been trying to use U-verse app for about 5 years and it’s got worse by day. To begin with, very expensive mythological U-verse wi-fi, should I say more? I’m using it as background noise in my office where I don’t want to add another TV set. I keep looking for competitors ever since we signed up for u-verse. Never-ever again I’ll be their customer. Everyone I know is disgusted by u-verse and yet we are the suckers keep paying for crapy service. U-verse app drops the picture, freezes after every commercial break, either sound is not coming or picture, kicks out and prompts to re-enter log in info or states some bogus error, constant prompts to succumb to Nielsen railings. Anyone who uses this app, I can guarantee you’ll be disgusted.
