Expensive
by Shallow30 on 2019/02/17 14:31
I just don’t like the fact that they ask for so much money to become a “PREMIUM” member but they advertise MATCH as a free platform to meet people. Not forgetting to mention, a lot of spam or fake profiles. It will be nice if they at least let you try a week or so free with premium features. I ain’t about to pay $40+ dollars a month for something I can even test drive, maybe perhaps lowering the price?
Photos
by graehm on 2019/02/17 13:13
I have tried to add photos to my profile several times, and it just says uploading and never uploads them.
Needs Improvement
by What_the_Freak on 2019/02/16 06:44
The app does not include many of the features available with the desktop version. Trying to access the full site from my phone is almost impossible. It keeps directing my back to the mobile. There’s also no demo. It’s either learn as you go or search the internet for answers. Not the most user friendly.
Not good
by poggimax on 2019/02/16 05:26
Too complicated. Bad UX.
If you’re extremely good looking no need. If you’re not also no need.
by Fitbit returned on 2019/02/16 04:38
Nobody talks to anyone. You’re better off using a free dating site. Don’t wast the money. Free sites include more people who actually want to meet. I wasted money. Don’t make the same mistake I did
Hard to delete profile
by Jolly Warlock on 2019/02/16 02:33
Option should be available within the app. I'm not even sure my account actually got deleted. I hope it did. Should be illegal to make it so difficult.
You Have to Pay for Everything
by Lee wants frwe messaging on 2019/02/15 17:01
There are way too many free apps out there for this crap. They want $21 a month for 6 months in order to be able to see and reply to messages. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME.
Not a good value
by Robisbored on 2019/02/15 02:49
I have relatives that had good experiences 15 years ago. Now it seems like a bunch of fake profiles and a racquet to make more money off these boosts. I’m not getting my value as it is.
Waist of money
by AzziePdX on 2019/02/14 23:03
People who date on match are bunch of weirdos, they are socially accord and some of them sex addicts.
Total scam
by cmb user for 3 months on 2019/02/14 02:26
Dont bother with this app, all dating apps want to lure you in saying that there are people interested in dating, 6 months 0 matches, also don't even bother with downloading this as it will entice you to pay to even see who messaged you and as you do none of the people who match with you could even be in the ballpark of what you are looking for, and just after purchasing you will suddenly get 0 matches from then on. its all a big scam.
Heard Match Was the Best
by leowulf88 on 2019/02/13 23:33
I’ve been dealing with free sites. Fed up with them. Glad I read the reviews, here, before making a purchase. Seems like everyone is saying the same things: app previously was useful, but is no longer. Must have been purchased by new people. Thanks guys for reviewing!
Very good website with good people with morals
by Cape4@ on 2019/02/13 21:36
Being on catholic march is very educative . The people you find and interact with are of a higher caliber and morals inclusive. Thanks! Tom.
ABSOLUTE BS
by jehehebbebfb on 2019/02/13 20:38
42dollars a month are you serious are you guys on crack or something I’ll have the same luck on tender for free absolutely bs
Get views and reads but no replies!
by sam rosen 93 on 2019/02/13 03:39
I’m just asking for a few replies at least. Same cultural issues just different platform. Online dating is pure crap for males. It doesn’t matter how good our pics or profile details are. Still won’t get a reply. 150 bucks I just completed wasted.
Match review
by Goo Star on 2019/02/13 01:52
Match is a top notch dating website. Very easy to navigate. Quality dating selection and volume.
Slightly Disappointed
by Melzy513 on 2019/02/13 00:26
I feel like a large portion of the matches don’t meet my search credentials. Idk if that reflects on match or the app. But, really.
Terrible
by DCp75 on 2019/02/12 23:55
Mileage is not accurate. Many many not active accounts. If someone isn’t paying or active then don’t show them. Waste of money.
Bad matches
by KathrynA1981 on 2019/02/12 23:05
Match claims to send you daily matches that fit the criteria you are looking for but mostly they were not even close to the criteria especially the distance I requested. Also, there are a lot of profiles with old guys lying about their age so they show up in more searches. They should do something to verify at least the basics. Other less expensive or free services offer verification.
Wish I wouldn’t of wasted money on this crap
by t-love717845 on 2019/02/12 22:26
What a waste of money
Look elsewhere
by tonypete on 2019/02/12 22:06
I tried Match for 3 months and was disappointed overall. Expensive and lacks features found in similar dating apps. Save your money and look somewhere else.
Paying money to be ignored
by Felwalker on 2019/02/12 21:11
So you can’t really do anything but look at profiles unless you pay the $42 a month to talk to people. After that it’s just mindless sifting through people till someone catches your eye. Send a message. Kind, genuine, observant etc. something to not sound like a creep. It will either sit on sent because that person isn’t active, or even real, or read with no reply yes or no. If you’re lucky you get a response and hopefully more.
Fake profiles and app crashes
by Doog4646 on 2019/02/12 19:52
Tons of fake profiles and the app constantly crashes and goes blank.
Nice to meet you
by medina1991 on 2019/02/12 13:01
So far haven’t found my match but still looking
Too expensive
by Bokuwa Ninjutsu on 2019/02/12 05:44
$41 to message someone? That’s pretty lame. Please reconsider letting users actually being able to see who likes them, what and who has sent a message for that unreasonable price. There are other apps that do this for free mind you.
💸💸💸
by Ecgk91 on 2019/02/12 03:16
Such a rip off!!!! I’ve bounced between some different dating sites and after seeing an add I thought I’d give match a try. I was actually finding some people I would like to get to know when I realized you can’t do ANYTHING without paying an arm and a leg just to see any messages and mutual likes. Scam artists. I definitely wouldn’t recommend.
No love for educated, tall and curvy women.
by crissysibley on 2019/02/12 02:43
Let me start by saying that I am a curvy woman. I am not “slender” or “athletic and toned”. I mean curvy. I am almost 6 foot, and I wear a size 16 pants. I have pictures that show my size accurately. I am average+. Almost every single male profile I came across had a preference of “slender” as the female physique. Different men’s profiles would also have preferences on height: 5’2” to 5’8”. Not to mention the preferences that men had for their ideal woman to have a graduate degree.
Waste of time app
by pizzagurl93!! on 2019/02/12 00:25
Boring. Useless. Wants to charge you to “upgrade” your account in order to view your own messages from so called “prospects.” Thumbs down. Deleted the same down I downloaded it.
EMAILS FOR EVERYTHING THAT HAPPENS
by hsjabcja on 2019/02/11 22:43
Match literally SPAMS my email account with emails about messages, likes, etc. I have tried going into my settings and updating them to “never recieve email notifications” and it does nothing. The emails keep coming. I rely on my email account for work and I have to go through HUNDREDS of match emails to get to the necessary ones I need for my job. Such a ridiculous issue to have, especially for such a large company. PLEASE FIX
Not worth it!
by Pachunco13 on 2019/02/11 21:19
To be honest I had never tryed a dating app so since I hear of this app, I thought why not give it a try, after a few months, there has been no results lol and I get one message from a person that might be a fake! And they ask me to give it a rate!? Really? Well is simple. This is the worst app I have ever waisted my money on! I think I have waisted money on game app and they are far better because at least I get results! But this is just me, I don’t know I might just be an ugly person but at least a reply with a NO might of showed me that this is not just fake profiles.
Some annoyances.
by k879gn on 2019/02/11 21:16
Well, the suggested matches rarely are what my profile states I am interested in. I’d rather get no suggested matches than ones that have simple things wrong like age and even gender sometimes! I also haven’t enjoyed retyping messages that were sent but then did not actually send. I do enjoy the specific search parameters I can set to do my own searches.
Not happy at all!
by AndreaMango on 2019/02/11 04:56
This site is not what I expected at all. I’m giving it one more week and then cancelling my subscription. Such a waste of money.
Boring
by alexgahme on 2019/02/11 03:13
Paid $60 for nothing and barely anyone is active
I literally HATE this platform
by CaitlinAlexa on 2019/02/11 02:16
I’ve tried many dating apps, platforms, etc. I tried to attempt match for a month bc I was apparently missing out based on advertisements. I was charged for 6 months flat and can’t get a refund. The people on this app message me multiple times, even if I don’t match with them. They’ve been rude, assuming, and occasionally offensive. I didn’t have ANY matches for days upon signing up which is apparently what I paid for. And so far, my “matches” haven’t actually met my requirements. I have messaged the company twice and all I’ve received was a message that they won’t refund anything, but they hope I’ll reactivate my account once it runs out in 6 months. I don’t use the word “hate” lightly, but I actually HATE Match.com. I’ve seen the same people on bumble and tinder and have no clue how they can justify charging money for this service. All I want is for someone to be understanding. But hey, life is hard sometimes. Definitely don’t recommend.
Not what I had hoped for.
by LBGRate on 2019/02/11 01:16
There are very few matches populated, and not really done so with much accuracy. For the amount it costs, one might expect better performance.
Expensive
by Gingerella777 on 2019/02/10 22:07
Nickel and dime you. Too costly for what you get. Other dating apps are less expensive and you get better output. These men are no more serious about marriage than your average casual dater in my experience. They just think they’ll find desperate women here. Matches are terrible.
Missed connections
by Madotter1 on 2019/02/10 19:54
Can’t find how to use missed connections anymore. Used to be easy.
Not enough
by LNO6 on 2019/02/10 16:00
It’s disappointing that even though my selection or preferences were not taken into consideration. Sending me matches that are no longer active on the site isn’t really helpful! To think I was charged $35.95 for this is ridiculous!
Deleting

How can I delete my account??

Match
by Geato pimps on 2019/02/10 03:21
It’s great to meet new people but it’s crazy frustrating when there are so many fake accounts and people.
Let down
by mj_robertson on 2019/02/10 02:05
There’s really nothing special about this app and I feel let down.
Terrible new format
by qeessszzxx on 2019/02/10 01:32
This new format blows big time! I don’t like the fact you can’t access the full site option. Change it back!
Missing profile info
by klesdfnfg78 on 2019/02/09 20:45
This new version is terrible! It parcels out the info, and my biggest issue is that it’s not displaying salary info which for someone who makes quite a bit of money is key to me.
Not a very deep pool
by Food is health on 2019/02/09 16:03
Match is probably the biggest game in town as far as online dating. Though what it offers in breadth it misses in depth. For every 50 profiles I see, I generally find only 1 viable candidate.
Be careful
by gibbyash on 2019/02/09 13:38
If you subscribed through iTunes you will not be able to cancel and deactivate your account. You will end up paying for something you won’t use.
Not actually free
by unnecessary2020 on 2019/02/09 07:47
So If I don’t pay for the premium upgrade or anything How am I supposed to interact with my matches? What’s the point of advertising as a free dating app if it’s secretly not?
Not recommended
by JodyKent on 2019/02/09 05:48
I had the app on my phone, and was enjoying it. Then it kicked me out and told me I needed to download the latest version of the app. Problem was, according to the App Store, I had the latest version. This is just the latest of a line of mess ups with this app. I would not recommend it. Delete . . .
Search
by Yo mamas a man on 2019/02/09 00:05
I’m having trouble searching for locals and customer service fails in helping me
Lackluster
by Hank2141 on 2019/02/08 21:42
I don’t know why it’s so poor. In comparison to bumble I’ve had more dates in 2 months of bumble than 2 years of match
New version HORRIBLE—go back please!
by FlCaliGuy on 2019/02/08 20:56
This new version is total crap. Was a Match subscriber years ago, and I am currently, but I will not renew based on this new version. Sometimes change is done just for the sake of change and actually screws things up… This is definitely one of those times!! BAD move. There is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving well enough alone. The new app is difficult to navigate around, it’s set up poorly compared to the prior version and also versions before that. In the past 24 hours I’ve noticed a reduction of views of my page, and I have a feeling that others are feeling as I am that it’s not at all user-friendly and a hassle. Also on one of my phones I can no longer use the Match app on that phone because I am running an older version of software, and it won’t even allow me to sign in. That aside, this new version is horrible and I am definitely going to look elsewhere. I hope that others express their dissatisfaction with the layout and functionality and maybe match will reconsider returning to the prior set up/version. If they do I will continue to subscribe otherwise I’m done. I give it an F. Please go back to the prior layout, this one is horrible. You ruined a pretty good thing.
Don’t download unless you want to over pay
by jdhcbf on 2019/02/08 18:20
There’s literally no utility in this app unless you pay their outrageous monthly bill. I get charging for some features and what not, but they charge way to much. This app is a scam.
Picture Upload Doesn’t Work
by #NoProfilePicOnADatingWebsite on 2019/02/08 12:49
The picture routine doesn’t work. You can upload and that’s about it. I’m still trying to tag one as primary, none of the help suggestions work.
Interested!!
by Beth030601 on 2019/02/08 03:49
I think you need to add an “interested” page. You don’t want to X him/her out but not ready to send a like. There are those people you just want to think about for a day or two, they have your attention but you need a couple days to decide.
New update is terrible!
by bmcmd on 2019/02/08 01:43
New update is terrible. Takes forever to get around the app now. Horrible step backwards!
No matches near me??!!
by dhc19 on 2019/02/07 21:54

Good app, better than the others
by 2RescueU on 2019/02/07 18:32
Good app. I like it better than the others. I just wish it had a keyword search.
Difficult to cancel
by 210drvr on 2019/02/06 23:39
If you’re going to use this, do not set up an auto renewal. You’ll spend way too long trying to get out.
Save your $$$
by El Jimmy69 on 2019/02/06 18:42
This system is definitely not worth it. Save your money it isnt cheap and it will produce no results. 99% of the women on the system dont check their messages cuz theyre on the free site that allows them to set up a profile. Unless your a paying member than you cant access the messages and respond back. So its pretty much pointless u have a better chance buying a random chick a drink at a bar and getting better results on your investment. You have been warned!
Buggy
by Ksurbs on 2019/02/05 18:38
I’m paying a monthly rate for the app to be buggy? That’s crap. It forces close and freezes even the free apps for better than this
Membership Upgrade
by Stroh97 on 2019/02/05 15:22

Absolute trash
by Garden state guy on 2019/02/04 00:32
I tried this app etc. on and off over several years and with no success or positive results. I would write to women and never hear back. Some will say it is a numbers game and that you are lucky to hear back from one out of every ten. I thought that is why we’re on this site because we want to meet someone. Secondly the app doesn’t look at your preferences at all and I’d get matched with women who are not even close to what I’m looking for. Thirdly from what I can see the women on here only want tall athletic good looking guys who make six figure salaries. If the profiles are real then maybe that’s why they’re in their thirties and still single. Or they are fake profiles. Lastly once I canceled my membership I would get messages stating that my profile has been viewed by more women than ever viewed it while I paid, and of course I can’t see who looked unless I resubscribe. Maybe this app/site was worth it once but not any more. Complete waste of time and money.
Really disappointing
by Grestratedsubscriber#1786342 on 2019/02/03 23:38
I’m sorry to say that I went out on a limb and used “Match” again.... between “Fake” virtual accounts, and a plethora of undesirable subscribers (apparently I’m one too) every nickel in money I’ve spent and every second of my precious time And attention I’ve given to this “App” and “service” has been an absolute waste! I’m so frustrated with my decision to sign up .... and actually PAY money (and time)... Never again.... don’t make the same mistake.
As bad as McDonald’s drive thru
by Omega_Edge on 2019/02/03 14:54
So I’m gonna tell you a quick story! I go to a certain McDonald’s in Tampa Florida, and no line-every time I order something as simple as a Large black ice coffee only one sugar, they mess it up! I kid you not every time! This is the way your app works! I put in my age parameters, and your matches, outside those parameters or when I go to search with my parameters you give me matches outside those parameters! What good is it to use your app when I’m a paying customer if you can’t make it function properly? It comes down to either ignorance or stupidity-you choose but fix it!
No
by stephhatesmatch.com on 2019/02/03 05:51
Match.com is trash. Absolute trash. This from someone who was just trying to trade up from Tinder. You're bombarded with emails, even when you've opted out of all emails. And you're bombarded with messages from men whether they're a match for you or not. Anyone, ANYONE (outside of my age range, outside of my religious preferences, literally nothing in common with you) can message you. I have no idea when someone I've liked has liked me back. It's just an unorganized mess and I'm not even understanding why choosing preferences on matches is an option. I cancelled my membership the day I got it. Just get on Bumble or something.
Very Disappointed
by Fjmaso assign on 2019/02/03 04:05
I paid for a membership and even still my matches didn’t meet the specifications Match asked me to fill out. And even with the pAiD mEmBeRsHiP the matches were still after that “one thing.” Shoulda stuck with tinder. Free, you know what you’re getting, and way more customized matches. Out of date and their “science” is bs.
Problems
by PMLff22 on 2019/02/03 03:47
I can be hooked up to WiFi and still get a wires crossed error message it pops up constantly! And I message people they either don’t get it or I don’t receive the messages they send having to send the same message multiple times gets pretty annoying and for as much as this service costs you would think that they would have the bugs worked out of it. Pretty disappointed in the app probably won’t be renewing.
If I could give this 0 stars I would.
by Me not you 12245567 on 2019/02/03 03:44
What a terrible app. Literally cannot do a single thing unless you pay.

Loosing your money is better than buying this app!
by Mirajoon on 2019/02/02 16:30
I have been to this app since last month and from the first day there are almost the same people. Maybe saw only couple new profile. The only reason I decided to buy the app was that I am looking for serious relationship and Tinder was all about hook up. This hasn’t worked for me and very disappointed...
Not happy
by Rollingmyeyes on 2019/02/02 16:29
Haven’t had a match since I joined. Frustrated with the program. Disappointed to still be a member, & irritates that an auto payment kept me in the app. Still use if it cuz I ended up paying for it. I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER PAYMENT. I hope I’ve stopped that so I just not have to bother again. Hope side: maybe my experience will be better. I always believe in Hope.
Smh
by Nunyabisnas on 2019/02/02 13:23
So luck whatsoever....some of the matches don’t even live in the city I’m in ect ect.... The commercials lie haha this is just another tinder or bumble but you waste your money on it instead
Not free. Only to download app
by lilballa on 2019/02/01 22:08
You can download the app for free and enter all your personal information, including your email. They’ll have your email to send emails and sell to other spam companies. But to match with someone or message them you have to subscribe to a monthly payment. NOT FREE, FALSE/ MISLEADING ADVERTISEMENT.

Real dating
by tuikbbgffbjnn on 2019/02/01 20:00
My question is: does any woman on here actually want to date? I paid for a membership hoping to find women who want to interact not just send a few texts then block me. In all honesty, very poor results.
Suggestions
by jmcbus on 2019/02/01 14:31
Be able to delete anything from the app. Can do for messages and views, but not likes. Be able to undo a like for 10-15sec. Slips happen!! Be able to hide someone from a search with a button rather than going into the profile. Similar to like / message.
Same features as free apps
by Shell'z on 2019/02/01 08:01
I’m not sure why anyone would use this app over the others, it has the same lineup of end users, same features, nothing special about it.
AVOID WASTED TIME
by dhhsjsie on 2019/02/01 05:45
Doesn’t matter what you put for filter options they give you whatever pops up. Messages don’t go through all the time. Full of bots and fake profiles and ads. I don’t even want to give this one star, can you give negative stars?
Poor experience & expensive
by Dariav7 on 2019/01/31 22:35
1. They charge automatically in different ways, through apple or directly and you may miss to cancel your auto-renewal, whereas they won’t refund you. 2. There are a lot of fake profiles which they keep to have more “faces”. 3. They just changed UI and it started to be even more ugly and they removed features which were differentiating factor from other sating apps. 4. With all these said I don’t see why you have to pay $30/month if you can use Tinder or other apps where there are clearly more people and better interface for free.

Every match I feel compatible with and responding to never sends a reply back. Having the options to click in someone’s profile if “interested” and ALSO “not interested” with “Reasons Why” would be beneficial.
Doesn’t match based on your criteria
by Amh7777 on 2019/01/31 19:49
Match tends to match you up with just about anyone. It doesn’t take into consideration what you’ve clearly entered as your criteria.
One

It only shows one person on the app but if I sign in online there is a lot
Not as good
by unanimous178 on 2019/01/31 10:59
I don’t understand why they would remove the part where you can see when someone is last online makes no sense. Now you never know if you are sending a message to someone that may or may not have been on the app within the last month. Stupid thing to get rid of.
Do not join

Terrible waste of money
by notgoodluck on 2019/01/30 20:08
I never get responses like I used to. I really can’t understand. 99% of likes and messages go unanswered. That said this app used to work fine. Winking worked well FYI and the number of users seems to be depleting. I have been on here a long time and have met nobody.
Too expensive
by pennySinner on 2019/01/30 18:49
You can look at pics as a free member or pay a ridiculous amount for a month to do anything else.
Small selection
by kjyippi on 2019/01/30 17:34
Not much selection for my area. I’m seeing mostly bathroom pictures of guys that can’t seem to take a selfie without closing their eyes or showing me a ruffled shower curtain and toilet as a backdrop. Not seeing anything remotely appealing.
Fake
by mtimberlake1972 on 2019/01/30 01:26
I think your app is fake news. Thanks, you lose. (did you get that rhyme??)
You will never get a response
by Ibraheem662 on 2019/01/29 17:20
This dating app is about the money, you have to pay so you can chat and she has to pay so she can reply! You will never get a reply because the girls are not paying And the age range of the women in this app is 50 plus I will never use it again
Dissatisfaction
by ducky181818 on 2019/01/29 15:28
I would rather be able to delete ones I do not like and don’t want to scroll through them every time I get on. Also, I would like to be able to unlike someone.

Fake profiles and nobody chats
No message responses?
by ELang144 on 2019/01/29 05:01
I’m going with that whoever I message , which have been a lot, dont have the paid subscription? I was hoping to meet or chat more than what I’ve been chatting with now. Not very pleased.
Meh
by midnightmoker on 2017/10/10 16:45
Been a member on and off for a few years. The app used to be great. It really was! But now they have switched it to where you can not delete emails and some other notifications you receive from the app. They just sit there piling up. Why on earth would your do that? Many of the emails/contacts you get are fake profiles (scammers) that are painfully/obviously fake and yet their staff don’t catch them when the profiles are approved. Once I identify a fake profile and notify them, they will discontinue their profile. However, the scammers emails sit in your email box and can not be deleted in the app even after they have been deemed to be a fake profile. They should be allowed to be deleted from the app. Take a look at the ratings you are now receiving Match. Things need to change. Also smoking choices need to be moved to one of the top things listed so you do not have to click on every single persons page to see if they are a smoker! 2.?? Average for an app with as many people as you serve? Not doing well for minimum $20-25 a month and sometime quite a bit more depending on the package you buy. Used to love you guys. Also. Most dating apps sites will allow some interaction with each other for non paying members who want to test out the app before buying. Match has the worst options for non paying members. You can hardly do or see anything anyone sends you. Hope things get better soon!
Auto-Renewal Crap
by Fidias412 on 2018/02/04 06:11
I decided to try match because I’ve tried several different free dating appa that have never worked so I thought maybe if I paid for this one this time it’ll be different. I decided to pay for the 1 month payment which was about $20 and as soon as I paid for it I regretted it cause it’s a very annoying app. As soon as you like someone it prompts you to send a very interest intrusive pre-automated message to them which is annoying. Whenever you have get in a chat with someone you literally get emailed whenever they send a message to you even if you have the chat open and are real time talking to them. I decided to wait out a month since I paid for it but nothing happened so I deleted the app a week before my month ended but now I received an email saying I paid for a whole other month?! They sneak the auto renewal payment into the terms of conditons so even tho I paid for a month it renews every month for the one month payment is more expensive than just got a valued bundle deal and theres no refund because thats their policy so now this crappy app just charged me for an extra month I won’t be using this app. So don’t try the app, its not worth it stick to free apps they’re all the same crap and won’t hit you with a renewal fee at the end of your already one time payment.
Happy to take your money and then give AWFUL customer service
by JCF2185 on 2018/05/01 22:08
I was a member on and off (more on that off) for the past 3 years. I ended up meeting my now girlfriend on Match this past November. It’s her birthday this week and *prepare for cheesiness* I wanted to print off our first messages to each other for this little thing I’m putting together for her as a gift. Since you can’t access you can’t even read your old messages if you’re not a current member (which is odd) I emailed support and asked for either a screenshot, transcript, or a brief access window. After 3 emails back and forth, they said there was no way for them to do such a thing. C’mon, it’s 2018....you know - technology. I then called today and the “customer service” rep was clueless and just kept repeating the same scripted response. I asked to speak with their supervisor and they flat out said no. I asked a few more times, more scripted responses, still no supervisor. I met my girlfriend on match so as a site, I can’t totally complain. But treating a former PAYING member of 3 years that way is unacceptable. I sound whiny right now and I’m really not that type of person. This just really got to me off the way they handled it after they were happy to take my money.
Good and Bad
by Nsen74 on 2017/12/13 15:31
On a good note I did meet someone on here and the relationship did last almost 5 years but I lend out that my patience and tolerance for human beings made this relationship last longer than it should have. Most men would have dumped her in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong there were some good qualities but now I understand all those red flags. And the moral of this story is I have met a lot of women on these sites with issues. Most don't go anywhere. On a bad note (about the site). Too many scammers, lots of women who think they know what they want but don't. Also, met people who don't look like their pics or lie. There are a lot of ok features for the site but they keep taking away more of the features that used to be free and charging for them. Like it's not already too expensive as it is at $42 a month. Come on. Besides that my area is so bad. Out of a couple hundred women with 50 miles, there aren't many who are too attractive. So occasionally I'll browse without buying but in the end I'm deleting the app most of the time. Online dating is so tough. Try going to activity meet ups or joining a club or church, probably will get better results that way.
To many unused profiles
by EricXXxXxXxX on 2018/04/21 00:00
Here is what i will say about match. I have been on for a few months now and my matches and search result have stayed basically the same. I have sent out maybe 100 messages with zero replies, mostly because they were just never read. Most of the profiles were created, had one photo uploaded and abandoned and now are 80 percent of the search results. I feel i have waisted my time and money on this service because they do nothing to actually help you find someone. This part is STRICTLY OPINION BASED.... i have received likes and a couple messages from a number of people but most of the girls i find to be active are far from what i find attractive and mostly overweight. The quality of the people on here and the quality of the site, ESPECIALLY for the price is NOT WORTH IT!!! I’ve had better results from FREE sites even though most girls on those are just looking to chat and never meet, which again is why i expected much more for a paid site. E-HARMONY at least helps you find a match instead of asking for more money to show your profile to more people on a site you ALREADY PAID FOR!!!
Overrated and Needs A Refresh
by LadyLift83 on 2018/10/12 15:54
I wanted to love Match...I really did because it seemed to be the holy grail of dating apps. I’m a full time professional, parent of one in my mid 30s who began dating after a long period of being single. The matches were of no higher quality because the same people are on the free sites due to the mainstream nature of online dating in modern times. The user interface and features are just plain clunky and unnecessary in some regards. It just never felt like it was worth the cost. If you are just getting started with online dating I think it’s worth giving a try at least for a month or two just as a tool in your overall kit but don’t have high expectations. We live in a busy world and I found that some of the newer apps get it right in terms of simplicity. After a few months on Match I became more open minded to Tinder and had so much more success. I matched with good candidates and the app was so intuitive. I’m now in a loving relationship with a high quality man I met on Tinder and we matched within a month of me being on the app. No email no clunky interface no fee required.
Horrible customer service
by misslorielle on 2018/05/15 19:59
Match has the absolute worst customer service I have experienced with a app. They claim you can always speak to a live person what they don’t tell you is that there will be a person from the Philippines with a tenuous grasp of the English language. I signed up for a subscription April 27, 2018 and a week and a half into my membership my account was frozen. I could not login and was prompted to contact their customer service number. When I reached out to match they were unable to resolve the issue, not only that were they were unable to explain why I was ever locked out of my account in the first place. They offered no solutions or a refund of the membership price. They suggested instead I asked iTunes for refund. Apple has great customer service and of course they refunded my money. Now I am left to wonder what caused my account to be locked in the first place? For all I know it was hacked in my information stolen or someone else has control and is using my pictures and information which I’m very uncomfortable with. Match did nothing to ease my worries nor try to resolve the situation. I do not recommend a match as they do not care about the security of their patrons information.
Not impressed, not sure why you have to pay so much?
by Tierra024 on 2018/01/19 00:14
I’ve been a member for 12 days, and I know it’s not a long time to try out the app, I have to say with being on a variety of dating apps in the past 5 years I’ve never been this outraged. I’ve spent $45+ on this app for one month to experience what I could’ve experienced on tinder! POF at least has a variety of questions for you to answer in order to see who may match with you and your interest the best. And bumble has it where the women are in control of who is contacting who. The matches I was paired up with went on zero basis, and had nothing to do with my preferences. I am giving his app two stars because it is a well developed app. And I appreciate the easy to use profile setup and layout of each module. But this is app is not getting any more then two stars because I could’ve had the same experience and outcome on another app that with don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for. Some other apps that function in the same are even free. I’m not exactly sure why I’ve paid $45+ but honestly, I wish there was a way to get my money back. I’m very dissatisfied.
Kinda disappointed and let down
by Jennyft on 2018/09/25 11:02
I joined Match with high hopes that because it’s a paid service there would be higher security and better algorithms to find my 10 out in this world. So I paid for a month to see how it is and I’m kinda disappointed. You can really get nickeled and dimed for all the extras so essentially if you really want to find someone you have to pay more. On top of all that my account was hacked and some person sent messages to a few men with a phone number for them to text in Wisconsin. I don’t even know how many they sent messages to because I only saw a few left in my message box. When I saw this I searched like crazy for a contact number to call but because it was the weekend I could only email. Then their response was that I needed to change my password (which I had already done), they disabled my account for a day, and credit me 7 days. So I’m really not impressed. The only reason I’m staying is because I paid for the month and I’m just hoping that anyone looking for a hookup wouldn’t shell out the membership fee unless they were serious about finding their 10.
Horrible Customer Service
by bgraces on 2018/04/29 18:53
This Company has the worst Customer Service I’ve ever experienced. I never go and write reviews but I am astonished at the lack of care they have for people. All they care about is making $$$. I had no idea they automatically enroll you in Auto Pay. I never choose to have it that way. I was under the impression that I made a payment and would cancel after that was over. I was not happy with the service I felt it was way too expensive and I got the same type of people as any free or cheaper site. I realized I was billed again and canceled that same day. They billed me for three months going forward. Since I canceled and wouldn’t be using any of those three months I called and asked for a refund. They refused. I calmly asked for a manager and was hung up on. I called three times and was hung up on after their “Customer Service” reps recites like robots the same answers. To be hung up on is completely inexcusable just because they don’t want to help resolve an issue. I’m so disappointed with this company. And I did not have in my finances to be billed multiple times. Thanks for making thins so difficult. I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone.
Match? More like Miserable
by Emisio_Tursero on 2018/03/31 04:23
I was told this app was great for getting people out there and helping them their perfect match. So I figured I’d try it and to use it, you have to pay. Perfectly fine with that... and to save money in the long run I payed for the more expensive plan and started to enthusiastically mingle with other singles with similar interests and I noticed that every time I’d try to send a message, it auto fills a cheesy pre-made message about an interest that looks not original whatsoever and on top of that, hardly anyone ever replies. Then the app has the nerve to offer me paid boosts on top of a paid service to be more visible, basically it’s a bold faced cash grab. The last thing I will say about it is that the daily matches have NOTHING to do with your preferences of a match, just random people from the list and furthermore, you don’t even get them daily. I went a whole week without any daily matches checking in every day. Overall, I’d say stick to the free apps. At least then they aren’t grabbing money from your wallet AND making you lose hope of finding someone. Match convinced me they didn’t care if I found my someone, but rather that initial payday.
A Sham
by Bdizz3793158 on 2018/01/30 20:52
Match is hands down the worst dating site that exists. I purchased the 6 month plan and at first logged on often and messaged people diligently. I was frustrated that even after paying for the service, my profile was still “at the back of the line” and was constantly prompted to make further purchases so my profile would be seen by more members. After a time, I continued to be disheartened and while I still logged on often, I never received a message because I refused to put more money into an already expensive subscription. Now, my subscription ended very recently and since that time, I have gotten notifications from Match multiple times a day that people have viewed me and that suddenly I have 9 messages - but oho! My subscription has lapsed so I can’t see the profiles or the messages. After six months of nothing, I am in disbelief that the notifications I’ve received are anything but a sham to get me to purchase another subscription. Do yourself a favor, and do not put money into Match. There are plenty of free or low cost online dating sites that are much better at treating their customers like people and not a paycheck.
Needs work
by Franny925 on 2017/10/28 21:12
The "daily matches" have nothing to do with what I am looking for. They are just random people that I clearly specified I was not interested in (divorced, has kids, smokes). The daily matches should actually be matches (at least somewhat tailored to what you're looking for). There should also be a way users can filter the messages they would like to receive. I get too many messages from people I'm not interested in and I'd like to be able to actually see messages from people I like without having to sift through the clutter from men 20-40 years older than me or 1-5 word messages. Or the same creepy guy sending seven messages in a row that forces me to block him. If there was a filter that you could set to "only receive messages from", that would help me find what I'm looking for better. Or at least a delete feature where I can delete at least 10 messages at a time. This would help make the app better for me, I hope you will consider it. Maybe also consider something like OKCupid's question feature so matches will be more accurate.
Worst dating service ever. Disgusting customer service.
by Mashe848 on 2018/03/26 19:24
Scam, scam, scam. I paid for match thinking I'm getting 6 months for 25$ (dumb but I figured it was some sort of special, guessing they were banking for people like me) but after putting my card information in and submitting it I found out that I was getting charge 150$ for a service I never even tried. It was late so I simply sent an email and "canceled the subscription." I didn't hear back from the company and assumed I would be refunded 5 months. After dealing with a bunch of family issues and working 8-5 every day. I had to take time out of my work day to contact Match to see why I'm not refunded the money. I talked to a lady named May, who was very rude the entire time, laughing at me for thinking I was getting a refund. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she laughed again and said she could not do that. How does this service exist when it scams its members? I'm telling everyone I know to stay away from this page and tell them of the horrible customer service. I honestly cannot believe they have employees that laugh at their customers. It's disgusting.
Scam
by Lhhhiggskhjdefhx on 2018/02/27 18:54
I made my account out of curiosity to get an idea of what kind of people were in the area where I’m new, but I didn’t want to subscribe to anything or spend any money. But I noticed not long after I created the account that I had been signed up for a 6 month membership and my bank card had been charged the $50. So I immediately started trying to remedy this, but found only dead ends. The match app tells me I’m subscribed via iTunes and should adjust my subscription through the iTunes App Store, but iTunes doesn’t have anything on it to adjust any settings that I can find. So basically I was scammed out of $50 for this trash app I didn’t even want. For a short time I started actually using the app (for a couple days) and talking to people, but online dating is not for me and I don’t want this account that I’m being forced to pay for. I’m about to have to go to my bank and request a new bank card number and have to set up methods of blocking these types of payments because I can’t get rid of them otherwise. This trash app isn’t worth $10, much less $50 and I can’t get that money back that they stole.
Not bad... but...
by CaptBradleigh on 2018/10/03 02:02
In all fairness, this is the best dating app to look for women who are serious about relationships. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t run into the usual scammers who only want a free meal or an easy hookup. Match’s selective process helps you narrow down the results of you what you’re looking for, so be specific, and be patient. It’s worth signing up for 3-6 months. However, I’ve had several creepy experiences where I was catfished. This needs to be regulated better. Also, many of the female profiles are blatantly fake, to a “copy and paste” degree, which I find insulting to the intelligent users who sign up here. Many messages are read and not replied to, which also adds to my doubts of the authenticity of the app. Despite these things, it can be extremely difficult to meet single women (with natural chemistry) in real life, so if you’re serious about meeting someone, use Match. I’m 30 years old and had 5 dates in a month.
Just save your money
by Jaxkillzz on 2018/09/03 05:27
Just like all the other unhappy reviewers. Nothing new here... just move along. Unless you look like Brad Pitt or something and over 6’0 tall and make a lot of money, I would stick with the real world. Average dudes have no chance. I would like to see other paid members honestly so I’m not wasting my time writing them a message just so they can read it. Search algorithm is basically garbage for paid members. After shelling out all that money, you have to pay more money to be pushed to the front of the line where inactive users are king. Overall I would say just avoid all online dating apps. Maybe it was a thing back then, but now it’s just garbage. Wish I could get a refund of any kind. I’ve used the app daily with no response back from the hundreds of messages sent. I’ve tried all kinds of messaging techniques and yeah it’s a no go. I even responded to all the women who liked me that I didn’t find was a good match and even then they never responded back. Move along average joes nothing to see here. Even less attractive girls feel like a 10 on these apps lol.
Don’t use if you value your time and money
by pizzalotus on 2018/01/22 16:12
The app is poorly designed and the website is not much better. Be prepared to spend most time on the app (and site) refreshing pages. Many of the features make no sense and you’ll question the value of being able to see “who’s viewed you” as well as wonder what exactly is the point of ‘likes’ as opposed to swiping ‘yes’ or just sending a message? Most users visible to me weren’t even in my area but instead were located in the adjacent towns usually up to 30-50 minute drives away. No refunds for the poor service they provide at an unreasonable price considering I’ve now had great experiences with free dating apps. This company preys on people’s loneliness and hopes you’ll get to the point of believing the more expensive paid service must somehow be better than all the free or cheap sites that may have frustrated you before. In reality, Match was miles behind the other dating services I tried over the last year and took much more of my money. They should hurry up, take their place among the relics of 1st gen online dating and just go out of business.
This app is donkey booty terrible
by Ssx3000 on 2018/01/05 22:47
First, the interface for this app is terrible. They charge a premium to speak with others and non paying customers can barely do anything, even with the recent updates. They may look and might like but that’s about it. Having all the notifications fill your email inbox is bad. Now as far as “matching” their algorithm is bad. They kept matching me with people that weren’t really in my interest. I paid for both the subscription and top spot and it did nothing for me except take money out of my hands. Also, $30 for a professional profile???? Are you kidding me? That’s ridiculous. Now as far as matching with the women, and this is coming from a black man who works hard, it was a mess. I reached out to over 100 women within a month and barely got one response. Some of it has to do with the pricing but a lot has to do with they don’t care for black man as they claim. I feel I was cheated on of this junk service and would like my money back, my account closed and never again will I create a profile for a service like this. Waste of my time.
Just...no.
by KL1313 on 2018/04/23 00:56
Ugh. Every time you update the app, it gets worse!!! It takes an act of god to remove someone who has liked you (yeah, some of us don’t want to save every single person for all eternity) or block someone entirely. The “matches” feature shows me the same people over and over and over...some I’ve already gone out with and tried to hide/block. This is DC and you’re telling me in a 2-year period there’s not more than the same 20-25 guys in my area? And no matter how many times i specify something is a dealbreaker or must have, I’m STILL getting matches with those criteria. And not knowing how recently someone is active is absurd. So you want people to waste time on matches who haven’t been active in months? I mean, Match, I’m pretty tech savvy so it’s not that I just don’t “get” how to use the app...clearly all these other reviews have similar themes. Also, I’m not sure who is searching for me, but I’m 37 and get mainly likes and emails from guys over 50 or under 25 (FYI neither are even remotely close to the age range I’ve specified)...for real...what the heck am I going to do with that?!

I have been a member since 8 years ago but was never a subscriber until now, I have finally paid the 3 months membership just to test it out. I have messaged almost 100 potential others and from the observations, there are about less than 25% who have read the message and among those nearly 100 others, only 4 replied and never heard from after that. In my defense, I always read someone’s profile in its entirety and then write a thoughtful initial message (at least 100 words or more) reflecting what she wrote. Another huge negative and ripped off is that you can not find out whether someone is a subscriber or not until they have read your message, or looked at your profile. Therefore, it is a gamble each time I write to someone. Also, the search is very limited and there are LOTs of profile that are constantly “active” or “active within 12 or 24 hour” whom will never read your message or reply back or look at your profile. I am highly suspecting those are fake profiles. The reason why I strongly think that is because I have extensive experience of using dating apps (not the hook up ones like tinder/bumble) for over 8 years and I have seen more than enough and got ghosted too often. None of the women have time to commit or ready to date. Every single one I met wanted to play around despite what they put on their profile “looking for serious relationship.” I definitely regret paying this, should have gone for eharmony (even though it is much costly).
Don’t do it!!
by Paparob1792 on 2018/09/02 13:19
So many things wrong with this app. I’ll admit to being desperate enough to pay $80 that I didn’t really have for a three month subscription for match so I came here to share what I learned the hard way. The biggest problem I see here is that without a paid membership you cannot read or respond to messages but you will not be able to tell which accounts are paid and which ones aren’t. This will lead to wast countless amounts of time writing dozens of notes that the recipients will not even be able to read much less respond to. It’s a just money grab. And a total wast of your time. Bumble and Tinder both work great for free and are much more streamlined modern feeling apps. Unlike the clunky useless match. Another note, if I were a lady on match I would very strongly recommend you turn off the missed connections. I’m not a serial killer but it seems to me when match is showing me I’ve crossed paths with someone 10 times in the same spot it’s a good bet this is where she works or lives. Do you see where I’m going with this?
Terrible waste of time!
by Um.......no on 2017/10/10 19:11
I tried Match for 6 months which was a total waste of time. Scammers abound. I'd get likes from men, only to not be able to see their profiles. You can pay to go to the front of the line, or pay to make sure your message is received, or pay for any upgrades in general, including seminars. I'd get matched with people that weren't what I put on my profile, or I had to rate the ones I did want to view, instead of actually viewing them. I'd receive messages, go to reply, and the profile would not be available. Not to mention the add ons. Pay to guarantee someone gets your message? Seriously? I got matched with the same profiles over & over, throughout my entire time period. I don't know if their algorithms even work, and the app is just meh. I ended up meeting very few people overall. I was under the mistaken impression that I'd be better off with a dating site that I had to pay for. Guess I was wrong! I gave Match 2 chances, but after this last time, I won’t ever go back. I’ll try other dating sites, instead.
Most pointless dating app ever
by Crowshaul on 2018/04/26 06:55
Seriously, don’t waste your money on this garbage. The app doesn’t seem to have any determinable algorithm. After you answer all the questions and tell them exactly what you’re looking for (and what you’re not looking for), they continue to show you what seems to be 100% of the people on there. Meaning they don’t narrow down your candidates AT ALL based on the criteria you’ve given. So you then have to sift through tons of people who live nowhere near you (oh yeah, the radius that they automatically put on there and that you cannot change is all kinds of effed up), and who you specifically said you didn’t want to see. They also continuously show you THE SAME PEOPLE, over and over again, no matter how many times you swipe left on them. Additionally, if you opt for a payment package, it’s in the fine print that they automatically renew your subscription when it’s up. WITHOUT WARNING. And they make it near impossible to figure out how to cancel your subscription!! Ugh, worst impulse purchase I’ve ever made.
Terrible App
by Disappointed user 16885229 on 2018/02/18 00:34
It rarely loads, the same matches get repeated as I scroll through so you’re seeing the same 20 people. Not all of the profile features are available in the app so you need to use your computer to complete your profile. Pretty upsetting considering you pay to use this site. Had I read the reviews first I would have chosen a different site to spend money on. It’s also frustrating that there aren’t any personality questions like POF and other sites. Your ‘matches’ are based on if the pick the same generic set of hobbies as you (like ‘coffee’ ‘book club’ ‘sports’). While the quality of people is better and there are fewer fake accounts, I expect more personality-based marching from a paid site. Very disappointed. Additionally, I shouldn’t show up on someone’s list if they don’t meet MY must haves. Half of my messages are from people who are the exact opposite. They make enough money off of these subscriptions, this should be better than a free dating site.
Don’t Do It
by ProDogPetter on 2018/01/11 12:07
I earnestly went in hoping for the best. But was really creeped out when several men who I didn’t even match with found me on my private social media accounts. Upon mistakenly forgetting to unsubscribe, I was charged again for a six month plan. I wrote to customer service and also included my concerns about security. I was offered about a $9 refund on a +$60 charge and told that my subscription would expire in a month. It didn’t make sense to me. So I wrote back and received no reply. I received a survey asking about my customer service “experience” and again voiced my concerns. I never heard back. Also finding a phone number to contact the company is pretty hard. Email is pretty much all that’s available. It just really creeped me out that pretty much anyone could contact me even if I didn’t have any interest in them. I would not recommend, as it seemed to me money was their main concern and not customer satisfaction. And the “matches” were constantly repeating and not at all what I was looking for.
Worst APP I have ever used.
by paigenicoled on 2017/09/28 10:46
This review has nothing to do with the website or Match’s general performance as a dating service. It’s about this app. It is the worst app I have ever downloaded. 99% of the time it “can’t reset my password” when I try to log in. I’m not attempting to reset my password when I receive this error message. I haven’t been able to sign in on the app for weeks, and before that I was lucky if I could get in by my 10th attempt. This app is garbage. Match, and any other “traditional” dating sites, would be smart to invest time and funds into creating an easy to use, FUNCTIONING app. The people who use these services are becoming more and more tech savvy, and not having the option of a good phone app is going to drive people away. Sure they might sign up, make their profile, and actively use the site for a few days or even weeks; but if they don’t find a reason to log on every day within that initial excitement, they will move on to competitors who at least offer a decent on-the-go option.
Awful software, awful service
by Kumarohaize on 2018/11/10 04:28
Constantly recommends matches that dont have a thing in common with me. Wont let me filter matches any more based on common interests, so theres no way to get it to show matches remotely interesting to me. Even though im a paying member already, they constantly try to get me to pay for “boosts”, so my profile shows at ths top of other peoples lists when i dont match their criteria either. Awful service that gets worse every year. Stay away! PS The developer response below is complete garbage. The whole point is they dont let me filter or search criteria based on the one category i actually care about (common interests). 20,000 matches listed and the vast majority are useless matches. The whole idea was to finfd someone i have something in common with, which they make completely impossible in the mobile version. Exactly what I expect from Match — a bullshart answer that completely ignores the points I made. I stand by what I said — this app, company and service are a complete ripoff. Stay away!
Miserable Experience So Far
by Johnny92M on 2018/05/29 01:40
I paid for the six month long package because I figured that if I paid for a dating service such as Match that I would have a better chance of finding a genuine person than tinder or bumble. This was not the case. Even after paying for the app, match still advertises things like “boost” in an attempt to take more money from me. In terms of the response rate of other clients, I have received very few responses, in comparison to tinder or bumble where I would almost always get responses. For the monthly amount that I’m paying, I would expect more opportunities and responses. I recently moved, and even after clearing my cookies, I can’t seem to get my daily matches to show my current location. My advice to those considering paying for the app is to stick with tinder, bumble, or any other dating site that isn’t asking you to pay just to use basic features such as messaging. I wish I could build a time machine so I could go back to before I purchased the six month package.
WASTE OF MONEY; they don’t know what “match” means!!!
by Abellaphoenix on 2018/11/06 16:02
I paid for 3 months but after 1 week I’m not impressed. The search functions are limited and updating some things on my profile is not possible. First of all, I am unable to change some of the parameters of the “what I’m looking for section” on my profile such as distance. So right now I’m limited to 5 miles because I made a mistake in choosing that when I signed up. I can change that in the search function, but that doesn’t update my profile. Now it seems I’m stuck with that and I’ve paid for 3 months. It’s been less than a week. I also am constantly getting matched (by Match) with folks who are not a good fit (I’m way outside their age range, height, or body type)!! More than 75% of my matches are not a fit. The search function is one way. In other words, I’m constantly matching with folks but I don’t match what they’re looking for (age, height, body type). That’s frustrating because it requires more work. This is a basic function of a dating app: don’t display matches for whom I’m not a match. You can only upload 4 photos at a time and they have to be approved. One of my photos was not approved then I submitted it again and it was approved. Although they sent a list of the reason for not approving, the application of their rules is not consistent. It also seems that not a lot of folks use this app in my area. Overall, I’m better off on OKCupid or Tinder.
“Filter” has a lot of holes
by Majoylind on 2018/07/20 23:05
Let’s just say I wanted to title this review “If I wanted someone not to listen to me, I’d probably be in a relationship instead of trying online dating.” Despite the somewhat rigorous questionnaire and many fields of interest, lifestyle, and preferences to fill out, very few of my matches actually fit the criteria I was looking for. Personally, my faith is a very important aspect of my life-which I indicated in both my preferences and search filters-but most of my matches blatantly did not share that quality, and in some cases were blatantly opposed to religion. This was not the only criteria that was not taken into account for my matches but definitely the most notable. I’ve been on match on and off over the last few years and have not had any luck with it. It also seemed that I got more interest while I was a free user, but when I would pay the *high price for the subscription, interest dwindled significantly. I won’t be falling for this again. Very unhappy with lack of quality service.
Don’t waste your time OR money.
by Rainonmebi on 2019/01/04 01:00
It makes no sense that living in the most populated city in the USA that there are NO prospects for me as a late 20s female. It seems as though the people who signed up for match when it first came out are the only ones left on here. Most all of the men are late 30s and early 40s pretty much. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about the $75 I spent for 3 months with this app. SO BAD. The functionality is very basic, other apps like OKC seem to care way more that you match with someone or learn something about them and they are 1/3 the price for 3 months. The design of the app also seems ancient. The colors, purple and off-white are an eye sore and do not make me want to stay on the app. There is no way to unsubscribe/opt out of their emails. Most companies put “unsubscribe” in the bottom of the email... nope, not them. For 3 weeks I was bombarded with emails of new likes and messages, turning it off didn’t help, I had to sign up for twitter and message them directly to turn it off. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Terrible UI
by Sahara1999 on 2019/01/27 13:57
I’ve been a Match user off and on for a few years. This latest release is the worst yet. The “more like her” is now crammed at the bottom of the screen and scrolls left to right. It’s only one row of thumbnails so your thumb is always covering what you’re trying to view. This isn’t new to this latest release, but I still hate that you removed Favorites and only offer Likes. Besides the obvious that I might not be sure I like the person yet and want a way to save the profile so I can come back and look in more detail when time permits, you also can’t remove the Likes. So you are left with a cluttered list of irrelevant profiles or “profile not available” because they have hidden/removed their profile with no way to clean up the list. It is not clear to me what features have been added over the last few years. You just seem to keep rearranging the layout and removing features. Based on other reviews I’ve read, I’m not alone in my feelings about your site/app.
Opinion
by unhappy with Match on 2018/07/28 23:54
The App is ok & somewhat user friendly. Just my thought when receiving a message from another member, it would be nice to have the message content sent with the notification to your email so you do not have to close your email and open the app. to read it. As far as Match itself, 3 complaints which Match obviously cannot control. I have been on & off for several years and it is the same women on year after year. Second, & I am told it happens with both sexes, the photos are rarely current and you never know who you are going to meet. Stop the lying and post a current picture. 3 I have met some nice people on here however there have been a few who were still married or living with someone as well the occasional few who will overindulge on alcohol & appetizers when you are paying the tab. My suggestion, stick to a coffee date.
Oh goodness
by Chicago girl 82 on 2018/06/29 05:21
The app is fine but I’ve been on the site since April and the choice of men are just horrible. I’m constantly being emailed by other members that don’t fit my specifications. ALOT of cougar men on this site looking for young women, I’ve been disrespected by men on who I’ve turned down, and have people contacting me from ridiculously far away. I find the cougar men to be extremely gross and I’m beginning to dread every time i see a message in my inbox for this reason. And a message for Match as i see you respond to reviews...i just want you to know that I’ve spoken to many people regarding my experience on match (including men on the site) and felt you should know that it’s starting to have the reputation as tinder. There are a lot of people that have fake profiles and are just looking for a “good time.” I’m sure this isn’t the reputation you want so thought i should pass this on. I have been contacted by members that fit this description.
So far this app is a dud...
by Ldybgk360 on 2018/07/21 14:40
So I’ve been using this app for maybe a month or so now. Truly it’s a complete dud for me, which is very similar to other dating apps except this costs money. Most of the time people don’t respond to messages, and truly if I have removed someone from my searches because I know there wouldn’t be a connection they should not show up in the daily ‘matches’ that are sent to you and they should not be able to show my profile to any person I remove. Truly I’d like to see a setup where what I set as my search parameters is who my profile is shown to. It makes zero sense for my profile to be shown to anyone that doesn’t meet the criteria I have set for my searches. Of course Match continues to show me people that don’t match my settings as well, so maybe their search function doesn’t work. If I wasn’t stuck in this 6 month paying for it crap I would have already deleted my account.
Daily matches don’t update
by Dzhared761 on 2018/05/05 13:12
Since one of the recent updates, I’ve gone onto the app and went through the daily matches. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards they don’t update when you like or dislike them. Even minutes later the set I just went through reappears as though I didn’t go through them at all. And you know that people dislike? Being sent notifications multiple times that someone has “liked” you. It’s stalker-y. Since Match app engineers can’t seem to figure this out and fix it, why bother swiping left or right at all? Better yet, why use this service since the quality seems to be based more in gaining subscribers by showing flashy tools instead of concentrating more on matching people? Though I’m eligible for the Match Guarantee, I’m going to end my subscription as they can’t continue to attract new subscribers in my area. The few rare new members are mobbed immediately and sent into hiding.
Payed dating, but with guilt for not paying more!
by Adventure590 on 2018/01/28 01:25
I get mostly the same matches every day, so it is a much more limited selection than the free apps (I live in Fort Collins, Colorado) which might not necessarily be bad, but... every single time I open the app (despite the fact that I’m paying 25 a month for this nonsense) it wants me to pay more actual physical money to “boost my profile to the top” or something, and the only alternative selection is “No, I’m fine at the back of the line.” Apparently I’m paying monthly to be “at the back of the line.” Awesome. Unfortunately I’m on the three month plan, but when it ends I will be so happy to delete this app from my phone and never download it again. Much better luck with tinder and OK Cupid. Update - one month in literally every single one of my daily “matches” has no picture and has not been on match in a month. This accompanied by daily cheerful reminders that I’m at the back of the line. Thanks, Match. Again, just so so glad you have my money.
Used to be a good app
by keithshepherdfineart on 2018/03/21 00:43
This is one of about 4 dating apps I have. I was going to try it again, and see if it’s worth paying for. It used to be like a lot of them and if you message someone, they can read your message and you can interact. The likes and winks were usually invisible until you pay, and that was fine. NOW, you can’t see ANYTHING. You can see how many people like your profile, and you can probably see if someone messages you, but you can’t read messages or send at all. So what’s the point? At least give us a reason to join besides the possibility that the person that “liked” you has paid as well, AND they’ll see any message you’re allowed to send them (now that you’re paying) You go to all the trouble to set up a thought provoking profile, to find out you can’t do anything but watch the likes go up and never meet them, which are probably fake profiles anyway, from what I’ve read on other reviews. Oh well, back to POF, and ok Cupid, I guess
It’s a trap!
by 748n8 on 2018/04/01 00:36
Although I had several successful dates and an overall decent experience, I eventually met someone (offline, in-person like nature intended) so I cancelled my subscription. Prior to canceling, I had not been active online, so I wasn’t receiving many likes, messages, etc. Literally the day after canceling (removed my pics, changed my summary to “subscription cancelled, no longer active on Match”, AND changed my profile to “hidden”) I started receiving a litany of messages from beautiful women. Today I received 10 messages from women w gorgeous profile pics. Of course I cannot read them bc my membership has been cancelled. Coincidence? I think not. I think scam. I even changed my communication preferences to no longer send me email notifications and I’m still getting emails. So frustrating. If you’ve read all the reviews/complaints about fake profiles, it’s 100% true. Match has many shady business practices but this is infuriating. Think twice before joining.
Misleading
by Beej1254 on 2018/08/12 14:24
I subscribed to match for one month. During my time I had a bit of luck and even went on a few dates. Ultimately though, the experience with match was poor. The service seems very misleading, and I question how many profiles are of real, active users. I went 2 weeks out of my month subscription with zero notifications or replies. I didn’t auto renew my subscription, and literally the DAY my subscription expired I received 10 new notifications stating that someone liked or viewed my profile. Regardless I didn’t renew until almost a month later. Excited to see the new matches or potential matches, I signed in. To my displeasure the NEW notifications I received were actually notifications for profile views and likes I had ALREADY GOTTEN during my first initial subscription. Match seemingly deliberately mislead me into thinking my new notifications were from new interactions when they were actually from things I’ve seen before. WATCH OUT.
Too many inactive users
by abababanab on 2018/11/09 16:26
Usually 70+ percent of the suggested matches were not even active members anymore. I dated several people on this site and every single one of them misrepresented themselves. You have to jump to the gauntlet of false information, altered pictures and deceiving posts. I’m sure it’s also like that on a lot of other dating sites. I have had tons of contact by likes and messages since I’ve been around. I had a several who immediately wanted my home phone number and email address. I don’t give my phone number out until I know somebody, nobody else should do it either! I immediately started getting spam from that person for pornographic materials. So you have to be very cautious, there are a lot of spammers out there and unfortunately most of the sites cannot control that unless complaints are made..
Don’t sign up!!
by JR123567890 on 2018/06/30 17:56
It is a scam! The customer service is absolutely horrible. They hook you with a deal and if you don’t go into your account and turn off renewal they automatically sign you up for another 6 months at $100. It’s not worth it when you hardly use the app to begin with. I had a friend that told me his account was adjusted and I called and asked for the same and all because I talked to one guy just a couple of sentences back and forth and just like a few days after the renewal date, they said they could not reimburse me. I asked to speak to a manager and they WOULD NOT ALLOW ME to speak to anyone else and I talked to 3 different representatives. When the one representative finally told me he couldn’t do the reimbursement because me talking to that guy. He could see the WHOLE conversation!! Super creepy!! They are all perfectly trained scam artists and creeps! What kind of person does that job?!! Yuck! Don’t go with them, use a free app. Bumble works just fine for me.
Zero stars if possible
by d. on 2017/11/22 12:43
The “matches” this site makes for me are guys who don’t fit my “must haves” or I don’t fit theirs. And almost all of the messages I receive are from men who don’t meet my “deal breakers”- the emails are filtered on the website but not the app. And many emails I receive are men accusing me of being paid to be on the site or a fake profile or upset that I am not interested- so many bitter men, and i can’t help but think it’s because the site has lead them to believe this, or doesn’t monitor the type of people who sign up. You don’t have this issue of harassing messages on other sides bc you can only message people when you mutually like each other. Also, I bought Top Spot and it says there are tens of thousands online right now, so I hit Top Spot, and it will say 250 men are seeing your profile, but it just shows me the same 5-10 profiles, multiple times. So basically, the same 10 guys are viewing my profile 10-20x...?!? Garbage!
Cannot delete profile
by Pbouton97 on 2018/01/04 01:32
I’ve tried multiple time to delete my profile and unsubscribe from the service. Each time it leads me on a wild goose chase on how to unsubscribe. None of it has worked. The app also charged me for 6months when I first got it. I did NOT ask for the purchase and have been unable to contact anyone who can help. They give you no support option, at least not one that I have found. The best option I’ve found for “deleting” my account is making it hidden and deleting the app from my phone. That doesn’t account for the 6 months they’ve charged me and the possible renewal that could happen when the time is up. I did not find a match, and I’m honestly tired of these online apps. You never meet a genuine person and there is an over abundance of scammers on this app. I know a few people who it has worked out for, but I am not one of them.
App is ok, but match needs a lot of improvement
by S0loguy on 2018/02/27 20:25
Been on match for about 10 months, honestly not impressed...figured it was a legitimate dating site, so I went all in and even paid for the extra feature to allow anyone I message to reply without restriction...most of the profiles are obvious fakes...they are either the default prompts provided by the site or have generic info...I’d say most of the women are either escorts looking for customers or foreigners looking for a green card...also, I edited my profile last night, which required approval from the site...after receiving the approval, I looked at my profile to find my entire summary section deleted...according to customer service, they are unable to restore it, saying it must’ve been deleted by accident...unless you’re at least 6’0” tall with a sports car and a 6 figure salary, don’t waste your time or money
Horrible Site and Customer Service
by Boogerb12 on 2017/11/02 10:03
I am bisexual and when I got this app I was under the impression that I could pay for one account to look at and be seen by one gender and that I would be able to have another account that I would not have to pay for to look at and be seen by the other gender. Instead I payed over $30 for a subscription and when I tried to contact customer service the person was very rude and they said I would have to pay another $30 on the other account. When I tried to get a refund for the subscription I did pay for I was told that I couldn’t get a refund because I used Apple Pay on my phone. It wasn’t until I contacted Apple and was on hold with them for over an hour that I finally got my refund. This company wasted my time. It is not fair or reasonable to expect bisexuals to pay double the money just because they want to be seen by and look at both genders. This needs to be fixed.

Expensive
by Shallow30 on 2019/02/17 14:31
I just don’t like the fact that they ask for so much money to become a “PREMIUM” member but they advertise MATCH as a free platform to meet people. Not forgetting to mention, a lot of spam or fake profiles. It will be nice if they at least let you try a week or so free with premium features. I ain’t about to pay $40+ dollars a month for something I can even test drive, maybe perhaps lowering the price?
Photos

Not enough
by LNO6 on 2019/02/10 16:00

Missing profile info
by klesdfnfg78 on 2019/02/09 20:45

Not a very deep pool
by Food is health on 2019/02/09 16:03

by unnecessary2020 on 2019/02/09 07:47

I had the app on my phone, and was enjoying it. Then it kicked me out and told me I needed to download the latest version of the app. Problem was, according to the App Store, I had the latest version. This is just the latest of a line of mess ups with this app. I would not recommend it. Delete . . .

Interested!!
by Beth030601 on 2019/02/08 03:49
I think you need to add an “interested” page. You don’t want to X him/her out but not ready to send a like. There are those people you just want to think about for a day or two, they have your attention but you need a couple days to decide.

Buggy

If I could give this 0 stars I would.

by Mirajoon on 2019/02/02 16:30
I have been to this app since last month and from the first day there are almost the same people. Maybe saw only couple new profile. by lilballa on 2019/02/01 22:08

Suggestions
by jmcbus on 2019/02/01 14:31
Be able to delete anything from the app. Can do for messages and views, but not likes. Be able to undo a like for 10-15sec. Slips happen!! Be able to hide someone from a search with a button rather than going into the profile. Similar to like / message.
Same features as free apps
by Shell'z on 2019/02/01 08:01

Showing Interest
by Dragond220 on 2019/01/31 22:31
Every match I feel compatible with and responding to never sends a reply back. Having the options to click in someone’s profile if “interested” and ALSO “not interested” with “Reasons Why” would be beneficial.

by unanimous178 on 2019/01/31 10:59
I don’t understand why they would remove the part where you can see when someone is last online makes no sense. Now you never know if you are sending a message to someone that may or may not have been on the app within the last month. Stupid thing to get rid of.

I would rather be able to delete ones I do not like and don’t want to scroll through them every time I get on. Also, I would like to be able to unlike someone.
