Nothing happens on the app, atleast tinder you get matched with decent people.
Bogus App
by RachelT4! on 2019/05/18 14:39
They charge you $75 up front for 3 months of service but fail to mention the lack of active members on the site. They send daily recommendations, most of who haven’t been active recently. I was confused why none of my messages seemed to be getting read and then I noticed the colored dot used to indicate recent activity wasn’t on any of their pages. I’m messaging people that probably haven’t been active for months. In addition to the lack of monitoring of fake accounts. I find all these 64 year old men who have set their age on the app to 30 and then just mention in the description that they’re 60. If every profile is getting “reviewed” why are all these pervy old men getting through with fake ages?? I would recommend trying a free dating app instead. Not only have I had better results, but when you pay for a premium subscription on those apps they actually come with perks. The premium subscription of Match is trash.
Disappointed
by Open to possibilities on 2019/05/18 04:43
I’m surprised by how much guys do not reach out. They make no effort. The profiles make it seem like they want to meet someone and are open but they don’t reach out or respond. I’m disappointed
No one responds
by ghetto bread on 2019/05/18 01:40
This is awful expensive to be on only to have people to read your message, or not even read the message and just delete the message no one reply’s at all it’s like there not even real profiles. I find it hard to believe that out of all the girls I messaged none ever respond.
Latest update stinks
by Imperitas on 2019/05/17 23:17
App is more like tinder now where you simply like or pass on everyone. Kind of like tinder where you look at a picture and swipe. Only thing is, tinder’s free. Latest update changed the whole experience and I personally think it stinks and will not renew.
Scam
by Statusgroovy on 2019/05/17 14:57
Just read the other comments. It’s a complete waist of money. I was disappointed the second I started using it. And of course Match does not offer any sort of refund because it’s a scam and that’s how scams work.
Lame
by nonmame juan can obi on 2019/05/17 11:59
Half the people on here aren’t paying subscribers and there’s no way to filter by active users so you either pay more to ensure they can respond or you just waste time and money ... kind of a rip off
Never get this app
by buggaboodupaincheng on 2019/05/17 07:49
I got the app with the one month subscription. Now, it keeps charging and I get find a way to talk to someone. #1 biggest scam of my life.

Ruined okcupid!!!!
by cheyhTspn on 2019/05/17 00:30
Okcupid was hands down the best dating app. Everything was so slick and easy. The question categories was the best part. If I wanted to date you could look up those answers on someone’s profile or if you wanted to answer political questions you could click that categorie. Okcpuid was the best with respecting and adding more sexuality and gender options. Then match bought it and no one will ever be able to convince me that they didn’t ruin okcuipd to make match seem better. All the best loved and most useful options on okcupid were taken off and replaced with unnecessary and confusing things. Shame on y’all for this
Ok.....
by penolpy23 on 2019/05/16 21:58
I have like every 30, 40, and 50 year old that liked me. And the ones my age are not into what I put for a guy. Like I don’t want them to smoke. Or if they are drinking, at least be 21. Sometimes I get a good guy, but not really. It’s ok.....
Upsell product only
by Greggyw on 2019/05/16 05:56
That is useless without subscription. Can’t do anything besides browsing pictures. Even if anybody writes to you a message the payments is required to read it! I’m considering it as a fraud
Waste of money!
by 2aak86 on 2019/05/16 03:27
Worst app.. too pricey and lack of features/options. Would much rather spend money on other dating apps that are way cheaper and give you more for your buck!!
Seems broken.
by i want my money back 34 on 2019/05/15 23:49
Bought the premium. That was a bad decision. Not only did I quickly run out of potential matches, but the “who has seen you” feature says that a total of 2 people have seen my profile in two weeks. The ”personal advise on creating a good dating profile” is nothing more than a google search. Don’t expect a free trial opportunity. Don’t expect to meet anyone. Especially between the ages of 18 and 22.(I’m 19) I’ve never reviewed an app before, but match has changed that for me.
Stupid app in planet 🌎

Don’t Waste Your Money!
by NBGam80 on 2019/05/15 12:13
Match has become a joke. 3/4 of the profiles you come across aren’t even active, and I know for a fact that they keep deleted profiles, and use bots to send you likes & messages to get you to resubscribe. The worst part of it all, is the lack of responses. I’m good looking. My profile is well written. I feel like I’m a pretty good catch. Yet, I sent out 100 messages over the past few months ... half didn’t even read the message, and maybe 5% of the remaining even bother to respond. I regret signing up for 6 months, and I will be deleting this app, and never use it again once it expires. Don’t waste your money. Either try eHarmony, or stick to the free sites, bc you definitely do not get your monies worth anymore here.

Most dishonest company ever.
Nothing as advertised, 95% paid actresses
by Mattb81 on 2019/05/13 13:00
Thinking about opening up a lawsuit against this company amongst other so called dating sites like eharmony and zoosk that prey on single guys by having 98% of the women on the site in the Seattle, Washington area and Green River, Wyoming areas as paid actresses. The other 1.9% that might actually be legitimate women on here are stuck up snobs who believe that if you’re less than 6ft tall that you won’t treat them right. That leaves the .1% of women on here that actually want to meet a genuine guy and maybe start something by dating. Biggest legal scam around and biggest waste of money. Signed, Very irritated customer.
This site ain’t what it claims to be
by Maxpayne25 on 2019/05/13 04:54
So I’ve been in this app for approximately one month, I paid for a 3 month subscription and bought a few boosts here and there and none of it seems to work. When you look at another woman’s profile it will let you know when they had logged on every when it’s been somewhat resent, all the ones I’ve been getting lately feel old due to 2 reasons that I suspect, number one, a lot of them don’t even show when the last time they’ve logged in and reason number two the profile would give one age and the paragraph where you write something yourself, some women add there age there as well and the age they type in is way younger. Another reason why this site doesn’t work, when someone views your profile, they site will notify you on who has seen your page, I’m assuming when you buy a boost more people would view, not me, just a few have viewed me, although my profile shows a good number of view, those views are because I’ve messaged them, and only a small percentage of the ones I’ve message write back but this I won’t blame on the site. I wish I could get my money back since I feel this site is just half fasting me I understand the rules and won’t attempt to fight that. On the women’s end it seems to be working and I don’t blame them, we get to see there profiles and message them. I have female friends on this site and they get more views then they expect since the site shares there profile more often. Anyways I canceled my renewal, now I just wing it and see where this takes me, I’d think twice before paying for this membership. Before I forget, they who’s near perk of this app doesn’t work, I only get one near me person and she is in Las Vegas, I live in Victorville, that’s hours away from me, the ones near me don’t pop up, this is upsetting, that’s all I can think of right now, good luck with this up to all, hope this review helps as well, bye
Flood gates open
by Tony P III on 2019/05/13 01:13
I was pretty specific with what I was looking for. I wanted To meet potential matches who where widows (like me) within my area. Match.com doesn’t seem to take what you want into consideration, other than maybe the age. It seems like they’ve thrown everybody at me from miles and miles around.
Awful user interface
by Grover019 on 2019/05/12 23:52
The user interface is flawed. Twice is selected the match icon, to connect with someone, and their profile just disappeared. There’s no way to recover lost matches, or to save one to view again later. Whoever developed this interface has no insight into how it is actually used, or how users would like it to work.
Completely pointless
by Ish scood on 2019/05/12 19:15
From my experience you are literally letting yourself out there for anyone and everyone. Didn’t find anyone that i was really interested in. Which made me feel horrible because people would try to talk to me but i wasn’t interested in them. It literally felt like it was grasping for anyone it could and putting them up for me. The app/email didn't work in junction with each other. I would get emails about something but then the app wouldn’t show it. I paid for 1 month. Felt like I got taken for 30 some odd dollars. I have been trying to cancel for a couple hours now and I keep getting the run around. I sure as hell hope I don’t get charged again. I was finally able to delete my subscription but I keep getting emails of people that have sent me messages. I don’t want them to see my profile. I don’t want to get anymore emails. I don’t care about knowing someone wants to message me through Match. I’ve emailed them once about it and they didn’t respond but I didn’t get an email for a couple weeks. So i considered the issue resolved. Then just recently I got another one. Essentially they are advertising me against my wishes. In my honest opinion this really doesn’t have much more on tinder or bumble or any other dating app out there. I don’t think it was worth the money, time or effort.
Waste of time
by Jazzyduck416 on 2019/05/12 18:24
Match is just like every other dating site, where women have all the power to pick and choose who they actually give the time of day to. I’ve been on here for 3 months and have yet to receive a single reply. Profile review and nothing. Profile boost, still nothing. Guys have a better chance of approaching random women on the street
Can filter by race but not salary?
by Je2f101 on 2019/05/11 07:29
The app took away salary criteria but still allows you to search by race. Lol I wish Match were more progressive. I don’t care about skin color. I DO care about ambition. In what world does this make sense?
Not good matches
by oregondating on 2019/05/11 02:27
I’m getting the worst matches I don’t know why I’m asked to fill anything g out when the matches don’t match any of my expectations even the ages. Very disappointed in the men that are being selected for me. Who knows may just be Oregon.
Not so sure...
by Josh|L on 2019/05/11 01:15
I’ve tried a lot of dating apps in the past and thought I’d give this a try. 1. I’m not the best looking guy, I’m a solid 4.5 but dang the majority of these people look like they’re on crack or haven’t walked outside in months. 2. I’ve had this app for 3 days (I know, not a long time) BUT not 1 match, message or look at my profile. 3. The amount of inactive looking accounts is ridiculous, at least show the people who’ve been on more recently first... 4. This app is clearly not for young people, I’m 20 and the majority of the people I’ve seen are at least 25+, I’ve seen around 3-4 under 24. 5. People saying they’re younger than they actually are. I’ve seen 7ish accounts that say they’re in their 20’s yet they look 50+... I wish this app had identity verification... In conclusion this app may be ok for people in their late 20’s+ but any younger and you’re just going to see a bunch of odd things people that you’d probably never go on a date with.
Can’t even get in contact with anyone you like
by BlazeOrbitmoon on 2019/05/10 20:08
This app is basically where you look at people’s bio for who ever is nearby you. There is no way to actually contact them to ask where they might want to meet or chat about unless both of the individuals are paying for it. It can’t just be you paying for it or the person you’re messaging, never gets your message until they pay for premium. It’s a really disappointing and flawed app that has much potential, but has way too much limitations. It’s almost as if they want you to pay for this “Free” app.
Allow delete from you like list
by asst scoutmaster on 2019/05/10 18:52
Overall the app is pretty good. One thing allow us to delete people off you liked list. You can click on the profile and can select remove from there but it doesn’t remove it from the list. Other wise it does what it’s supposed to do.
Preferences mean nothing.
by Cvir on 2019/05/10 18:36
NEGATIVES - This app is irritating for one reason and one reason only. Preferences mean NOTHING. For example, my preferences are mostly upheld but some of the time are not. But the problem is with other people. More often than not I am shown a profile of someone looking for someone YEARS older than me. Or they want someone within 5 miles of wherever, Chicago for example. I am NOWHERE NEAR Chicago yet Im always shown profiles of people with a preference of ‘5 mi near Chicago’ or other places I’m nowhere near. Why have preferences in the first place if they're never listened to, it makes NO sense. Another problem is dead profiles. Take this point with a grain of salt because idk how accurate my view on this is compared to the reality. I would say about half of the women I like either never look at my profile or look at the message I send them. I have liked and messaged dozens and dozens of women yet only 12 - 15 have looked at my profile or looked at the message. Now yes I know this could mean that most of the women are just very not into me but it happens so much its hard to ignore. This should be solved as those dead profiles are a massive WASTE of time. For an app/website that costs money per month (and a lot) I would have expected a much better experience. POSITIVES + This app is designed very well and it is very easy to navigate to where you want to go. You won’t accidentally super like someone or anything of the sort. The colors are designed nice and overall how this app looks and feels is on point.
Not good
by Jvkinca on 2019/05/10 16:45
Why did you remove the salary information? Make it easier to block/screen people I have already looked at.
Expensive and not productive
by 151 greg on 2019/05/10 13:01
This site is very expensive. Women can join but can not reply to messages unless the become paid members. Therefore I spend lots of time messaging women that can’t respond anyhow. A lot of wasted time!
They think we’re all rich!
by joemamaas on 2019/05/10 00:31
Literally no reason to download the app if you’re not loaded with money. You can’t be too messaged you if someone likes you doesn’t show you who it is, someone viewed your profile doesn’t show you. I understand a cost money for development but why not be more reasonable on your prices a few other great apps I’m using? *deleted*
Unable to use
by ffstl on 2019/05/10 00:01
Don’t purchase a membership before you try the app. This app is not functional. I downloaded the app and it said it recognized it was a new device and sent a message to verify the device, but it’s does not send the email to verify. I tried to contact support, but they said everything looked ok on my account. I’m not the first person to report this, yet match doesn’t attempt to fix the glitch in this app.
Where’s the features?
by MCGrassblock210 on 2019/05/09 21:14
Charging money for the basic act of communicating with other users is pure nonsense.
Expensive Disappointment
by DonMateoBasil on 2019/05/09 20:49
So let’s start with the fact that you can’t do anything except window shop for free on this. Once you pay the exorbitant fee you get all-access. Then you realize that 95% of the profiles are inactive and many of the recently created profiles are people who haven’t paid for an account. That means they can’t message you or see your message to them. Then out of what is left, barely anyone responds and people frequently just stop using logging into the app. 5 months of disappointment. I’m no super model, but I’m a handsome, successful guy with his life together. I’ve had much better luck on Hinge and Tinder for free. Too bad, was hoping this would actually lead to something
I can’t login
by ellers925 on 2019/05/09 18:15

Don’t Do It: Out Dated Platform
by Kramer_J33 on 2019/05/09 18:07
Match is a complete joke compared to the more modern apps out there (Bumble). The platform is out dated and archaic. Also beware when you want to cancel, DO NOT subscribe through Apple, they only offer renewal options, and match with not help or honor the cancellation request - they simply blame Apple. It’s an endless loop of frustration, and set up for both companies to scam your money. Highly recommend bumble or another more modern platform.
Absolutely awful!
by Sgudehy on 2019/05/09 13:53
I keep getting likes from men who are way over my preferred age range. I’m 25, I don’t want men older than my parents sending me likes. I’m completely grossed out. It’s also not listening to my distance preference. It’s finding men from different states no where near me. I set a 45 mile radius, I don’t understand why they aren’t listening. I also don’t get why I can receive messages from anyone. I thought this is “match”.com. Shouldn’t the matches be mutual? Waste of money. I’ll stick to hinge instead.
Update??
by Okay for a time on 2019/05/09 04:26
It stated I had to update the app and now since I did it is stuck in a boot loop stating I have to update app and kicks me to the App Store to open the new update and then try to sign in to tell me I need to update again!!!
Cost too much
by Woneleft15 on 2019/05/08 12:24
Yet another app more interested in making money and not following through with their word of what they offer. It would be great if you could talk to people without having to pay over $20 a month. Might as well go out and meet someone it’s a lot cheaper that way.
PLEASE UPDATE!!!!horrible
by 12345577890 on 2019/05/08 12:02
needs an overhaul the design is very old and needs updated more fun appealing and user friendly interface. Also, why keep getting matches on people that doesn’t even fit the filters you set. Annoying. Also, when there is a complaint about the app, why developer keep saying shoot me a message at match.com and we will be happy to help. We are telling u here and now on the review. That’s what this section is for. Use this review . Not gonna keep sending duplicate review or issue when u clearly see it here and probably not gonna be fixed or make a difference anyway

Can’t delete your account
by truther01011 on 2019/05/08 02:02
So I downloaded this app and I knew some part of the app cost which wasn’t a big deal because I wasn't going to purchase anything. Anyway it brought up this screen with all these guys profile on it and I hit skip and when I went in to see what guys. I liked it had all these other guys from the beginning that I didn’t like tell them that I liked them when I did. So I went in to delete them from my likes it says,I have to pay. When I went in to delete my account you can’t but you can hid it. THAT IS NOT THE SAME AS DELETE. So once you create with all your info you can’t go back.
It’s alright
by Gtarny on 2019/05/07 17:37

Limit visibility/messaging please
by private please on 2019/05/06 05:33
So even though there seems to be some high quality people, there are people that are outside my preferences able to see my profile and send messages. It’s weird to get messages from strangers states away. Also, if tinder is free and has better visibility/messaging preferences, it makes it silly that this paid service isn’t able to do so. Likes I can understand, but messages seem invasive if the match isn’t mutual. It’s literally called match.com. This one aspect would greatly increase my rating if worked upon.
Don’t use
by zb59368379389 on 2019/05/06 03:38
This site is the worse. When ever you cancel your subscription you magically get likes and messages on a daily basis. Now when you have an active subscription all of those disappear. Even when you look at the log of them, every single one of those profiles are removed. This site is nothing but a money grab.

More like Un-Match
by blackcc on 2019/05/05 19:27
The app and website is really easy to use and intuitive. Set your profile and what you’re looking for and then it’s off find that special person. That’s the good part. The bad part is their system of matching potential people that meet your ideal criteria. For example, you’re interested in white, black and asian ethnicities. Match.com sends you people who they think you’ll like. You find out who they propose and it has almost everything you’re looking for till it says this person is only interested in these ethnicities and not yours which makes Match.com very discouraging and not fun to use if they keep suggesting people that aren’t interested in your ethnicity. Why bother in suggesting these possible suitors when it’s clearly in their ideal date to be and have. They really need to address that problem. I’ve run across a lot of profiles that are amazing till you find out that they only like these ethnic groups or group. It seems like an easy fix but I’m not a programmer. So do whatever it takes and get the matches right.

I just happen to look through my apple subscriptions to cancel a few graphic design apps that I no longer need and stumbled on this Match.com app as not only downloaded BUT ALSO UPGRADED to $42/ a month. Are you kidding me?!?!???? I have no clue how long this has been going on but I am going to tell everyone I can that this service and app is a scam. YOU ARE THIEVES!!!!!

Don't waste your time and money. I had match for 9 months and I paid a lot of money for it. I texted to so many of matches, but out of thousands of sent texts, only 4 responded back, and all of them were not even a close match.
Not Impressed.
by Lexi1892 on 2019/05/03 06:33
Ok so, let’s start with the fact that the app was designed well. I liked the functionality of it, and the user friendliness. What I HATED was the fact that 50-60 year old men were looking at my profile, at 26 years of age. I was completely creeped out. I spent more time blocking people than actually enjoying my ‘member benefits’. There were a few good messages/interactions, that just didn’t work out. Other messages were the usual ‘send me full body shots’ or ‘hru’ or ‘I want your phone # (even though we met 2 mins ago)’. Maybe others will have more luck, but Match was just not for me.
You Have To Pay for EVERYTHING!!!
by i wanna die 828293628 on 2019/05/03 02:15
You see a girl you like? Go ahead and like her oh but if you want to message her so she actually notices you you have to PAY for the membership. Oh you want a boost? Too bad that’s going to cost you. Oh you want to see the 6 people that liked you? Oh too bad you have too ________, You guessed it, PAY. Literally every thing has a price and you still match with absolutely no one. Just get Badoo or Bumble or hell even Tinder because at least there you have some freedom.

Unsatisfied
by Infuriated in Ohio on 2019/05/02 10:12
The filters do not work well and the Matches are completely off. Not to mention the way they are trying to force people to read profiles doesn’t work. This app design was a bad choice for Match.
Not worth it
by ttgvvgyttt on 2019/05/02 04:40
To begin I would have to say don’t waist your money I wish they would match me with people that actually pay for match because there is a lot of profiles that people don’t use any more and people are not going to pay to send people messages so it’s really hard to find someone
It should be called NOT MATCH

What a waste of money
by Jbelanger80 on 2019/05/01 17:00
I will never pay to use this app again. Extremely limited profiles, I was using the free version for a few days and kept getting messages and likes... couldn’t see or do anything about them so I paid for a month.... boy was I disappointed by that. As soon as I logged into the pay version all of the messages were from people on hundreds of miles away and when I clicked on them I kept getting profile is no longer accessible. Ever since I paid for this I have not had any encounters of any kind and it finds no one in a 100 mile radius of my location. I have that this site is only looking for $ with little to no results! I will not be using again and will be going to the BBB on these practices. I have talked to several other people who experienced the same exact thing. They all got all these hits and had to pay to interact and they were all the same people from across the country and then nothing.... These guys have made a great money making scheme but over charging customers for a unusable product! Stay away there are better apps and cheaper.

They steal your data. Deny you access to your data. Stated they cannot tell me information about my own account even though it is mine. They acknowledge the account is mine but refuse to tell me about my own account. Horrific. Straight theft. Im a female who made an account not even 12 hours ago and I woke up to a message that said I cannot access my account, that I’ve been blocked from it, and to message customer service. I paid for a subscription and I’ve been blocked from my account. I haven’t even matched with ONE person. All of my photos are face only. I verified through Facebook and email. Blocked from my account with no answer. I shouldn’t have paid. Ridiculous. 10/10 they’re using my profile and showing it as active and male users are being scammed into thinking new Women are on the site when we aren’t...we’ve been removed. Update: I emailed two different customer service departments asking WHY my account was removed and WHICH rule I violated. They responded: “We received your inquiry requesting information about your Match account. Due to our privacy practices, we cannot disclose specifics about any Match account, including your own.” They’ll accept your money. Take your personal information. Then deny you access to your information. You lose complete control over your data. I’m so concerned about what’s happening with my data that I’m considering legal options because I’m fearful about what’s happening with it. Terrifying experience. Do not do this to yourself. To the developer who responded: Based on the response that I copy/pasted from the Match customer service, no information can be shared with ME about MY OWN account. Clearly, there is nothing you can do. It goes against your “pRiVaCy PoLiCy”.
I think may profiles are inactive or fake
by Dr.Blue891 on 2019/05/01 03:16
I get so many messages when I am not actively paying, but as soon as I do pay, most messages stop. I truly believe those messages are either bots or employees with fake accounts to get you to pay. So many times no replies, they have no online history, but you only see that after you message them. there should be a purge to not show profiles that are not active, but then the appearance to active users would be terrible. There are probably only 40 active users in my metro area of over a million people.
Not Worth the Money
by Small Town City Girl on 2019/05/01 02:56
Coffee Meets Bagel, Bumble & Hinge seem to have more members & are more user friendly. I live in DFW & only 19 guys in 100 miles match my preferences (my Christian faith, not smoking & not drinking are important to me). Few options for such a populated area! Some of those were same guys on free sites, my favorite is inactive & most others I would not consider. Stick to the free sites & save your money!

I had an old account that I deleted, yet it was still active on the site, which they claim won’t happen. I asked them to delete it, and instead their customer service deleted my current account along with contacts, messages, etc. and they couldn’t restore it. They also refused to refund me despite the fact they i did nothing wrong and they screwed up twice.

Don’t waste your money
by Tumaini on 2019/04/28 23:12
First, DON’T purchase more than a month at a time because it’s throwing your money away. The matches tend to not be a match for what you put in your profile. And there were an overwhelming amount of messages which were too many to manage. And they again are not from people who you enter in your profile as a match. I found Match to be creepy with very aggressive men. And they can track if you look at their profile. Oh, I also ended up with men in my likes and I never even looked at their profile. I’d rather hang out with my dog than deal with this site.
False advertising
by johnnnnyyy118953 on 2019/04/28 21:04
I have been on this site for a month and sent out hundreds of messages. Literally hundreds of messages, and only had about 3-4 responses. This site is absolutely ridiculous, I got scammed out of $40 a day after I spent $110 to sign up. I thought I stood a chance at finding love on this site, at least a date every couple weeks. I am beyond disappointed. If this continues for the next two months I am going to make it my life mission to inform the world about what a scam this whole website is. It has me borderline suicidal at night. Losing faith in humanity from all the positivity I message women on here with and get NOTHING in return. Not even a response.
Match is flooded with old creeps!
by just a girl tired of creeps on 2019/04/28 15:40
Although you have the ability to filter out who you see, match still allows the old creeps to contact you or show they like you. It doesn’t put me in the right head space to find love when grandpas keep trying to message me. This app was the biggest waste of money and no options.

Been using it for 3 days now and I liked 30 women and I had 22 views. I also sent the 30 women a message. Not once in 3 days have I got a profile like or a message. I think these dating sites are using fake profiles just to lure u in. I also used this app a few years ago and the same thing happened. I decided to give it another try but no luck.

Unable to access anything unless you pay for an upgraded account......not even a trial offer to entice you to want to pay. by sparcjockey on 2019/04/27 01:50
Can’t get to search without going through the profiles Match feeds you. Each one registers as a view whether or not you would have actually viewed that person’s profile. So some misguided person thinks I am repeatedly viewing their profile.
Poor user interface and detail to profile
by the sly 1 on 2019/04/26 20:17
Very poor user interface regarding messaging and history. Doesn’t remember what was written after you view a profile while writing a message. history does not show you your past conversation or message history. Does not show you income on anyone’s profile.
Waste of money
by Auddijo on 2019/04/26 06:50
This app has been useless for me as a 22 year old, there have been few and far between profiles I’ve even found that match what I’m looking for. I paid for a month subscription only to get a handful of messages from men old enough to be my dad and even grandfather. Not to mention, that none of them are even remotely close to my location. Waste of money! The app doesn’t tell you people can still like your profile without paying meaning that you can’t even start a conversation with them.
“Unable to locate your account”
by sasmith519 on 2019/03/04 23:01
I downloaded the app and purchased a month subscription to Match last week. Within the few few days of having the account. I woke up one morning and my account was logged out on my app. So I tried to login and it said that my password was incorrect, I tried again and no luck. So I hit the reset password link and waited for the email that never came. I tried again later that day and the next day. No email. I submit a support ticket to customer service and give them my info. They email me back and say they cannot find my account. I send them screenshots of my charge through Apple, an email notification of a message in my account and all of the information they requested. And of course they say “Unfortunately, I'm having trouble tracking down your account based on the information I have.” So I send more information, I check spam folders, I jump through all the hoops they requested and I am concerned that someone hacked my account. Meanwhile it seems like they are not concerned at all about this issue and are unwilling to provide any explanation as to what methods they have tried to find my account or concern over a potential hacking. I requested them to refund my money since I literally only used the app for 3 days and they said I need to contact Apple. So I submitted a customer care request and I hope that Apple will refund my $45 charge for a service I never received. I would never recommend Match to anyone. Ever.
Meh
by midnightmoker on 2017/10/10 16:45
Been a member on and off for a few years. The app used to be great. It really was! But now they have switched it to where you can not delete emails and some other notifications you receive from the app. They just sit there piling up. Why on earth would your do that? Many of the emails/contacts you get are fake profiles (scammers) that are painfully/obviously fake and yet their staff don’t catch them when the profiles are approved. Once I identify a fake profile and notify them, they will discontinue their profile. However, the scammers emails sit in your email box and can not be deleted in the app even after they have been deemed to be a fake profile. They should be allowed to be deleted from the app. Take a look at the ratings you are now receiving Match. Things need to change. Also smoking choices need to be moved to one of the top things listed so you do not have to click on every single persons page to see if they are a smoker! 2.?? Average for an app with as many people as you serve? Not doing well for minimum $20-25 a month and sometime quite a bit more depending on the package you buy. Used to love you guys. Also. Most dating apps sites will allow some interaction with each other for non paying members who want to test out the app before buying. Match has the worst options for non paying members. You can hardly do or see anything anyone sends you. Hope things get better soon!
Auto-Renewal Crap
by Fidias412 on 2018/02/04 06:11
I decided to try match because I’ve tried several different free dating appa that have never worked so I thought maybe if I paid for this one this time it’ll be different. I decided to pay for the 1 month payment which was about $20 and as soon as I paid for it I regretted it cause it’s a very annoying app. As soon as you like someone it prompts you to send a very interest intrusive pre-automated message to them which is annoying. Whenever you have get in a chat with someone you literally get emailed whenever they send a message to you even if you have the chat open and are real time talking to them. I decided to wait out a month since I paid for it but nothing happened so I deleted the app a week before my month ended but now I received an email saying I paid for a whole other month?! They sneak the auto renewal payment into the terms of conditons so even tho I paid for a month it renews every month for the one month payment is more expensive than just got a valued bundle deal and theres no refund because thats their policy so now this crappy app just charged me for an extra month I won’t be using this app. So don’t try the app, its not worth it stick to free apps they’re all the same crap and won’t hit you with a renewal fee at the end of your already one time payment.
Happy to take your money and then give AWFUL customer service
by JCF2185 on 2018/05/01 22:08
I was a member on and off (more on that off) for the past 3 years. I ended up meeting my now girlfriend on Match this past November. It’s her birthday this week and *prepare for cheesiness* I wanted to print off our first messages to each other for this little thing I’m putting together for her as a gift. Since you can’t access you can’t even read your old messages if you’re not a current member (which is odd) I emailed support and asked for either a screenshot, transcript, or a brief access window. After 3 emails back and forth, they said there was no way for them to do such a thing. C’mon, it’s 2018....you know - technology. I then called today and the “customer service” rep was clueless and just kept repeating the same scripted response. I asked to speak with their supervisor and they flat out said no. I asked a few more times, more scripted responses, still no supervisor. I met my girlfriend on match so as a site, I can’t totally complain. But treating a former PAYING member of 3 years that way is unacceptable. I sound whiny right now and I’m really not that type of person. This just really got to me off the way they handled it after they were happy to take my money.
Good and Bad
by Nsen74 on 2017/12/13 15:31
On a good note I did meet someone on here and the relationship did last almost 5 years but I lend out that my patience and tolerance for human beings made this relationship last longer than it should have. Most men would have dumped her in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong there were some good qualities but now I understand all those red flags. And the moral of this story is I have met a lot of women on these sites with issues. Most don't go anywhere. On a bad note (about the site). Too many scammers, lots of women who think they know what they want but don't. Also, met people who don't look like their pics or lie. There are a lot of ok features for the site but they keep taking away more of the features that used to be free and charging for them. Like it's not already too expensive as it is at $42 a month. Come on. Besides that my area is so bad. Out of a couple hundred women with 50 miles, there aren't many who are too attractive. So occasionally I'll browse without buying but in the end I'm deleting the app most of the time. Online dating is so tough. Try going to activity meet ups or joining a club or church, probably will get better results that way.
Don’t Bother With This App
by Distressed Couture on 2019/03/27 23:15
I’ve tried numerous dating sites and had nothing but bad experiences. I thought maybe signing up/purchasing a subscription through Match be different. Assuming that it was going to be for more serious users, I gave it a shot and to my surprise it’s the same EXACT thing I experienced while on free dating sites. 99.9% of users do not respond. You’ll get a bunch of likes from users, some who are not even near your location and when you go and like them back and message them they read your messages but don’t respond. It’s gives people complexes. I’m not sure if these users are shallow or they are looking for the man of their dreams that only exists on tv. I’m not an ugly person but I’m not Brad Pitt. But seriously it makes you feel like people are just judging you for your looks once again. So I’m not sure what the deal is. Is it the users in my area, is it the app creating false accounts or letting free accounts interact with paid users but want allow to message them fully? It’s a tease and very discouraging. What a complete let down. I used it for a couple of days and it’s been such a waste and to top it off I can’t even get a refund. I spent $75 for 3 months. So I’ll have this 3 months and most likely not getting out of this.
To many unused profiles
by EricXXxXxXxX on 2018/04/21 00:00
Here is what i will say about match. I have been on for a few months now and my matches and search result have stayed basically the same. I have sent out maybe 100 messages with zero replies, mostly because they were just never read. Most of the profiles were created, had one photo uploaded and abandoned and now are 80 percent of the search results. I feel i have waisted my time and money on this service because they do nothing to actually help you find someone. This part is STRICTLY OPINION BASED.... i have received likes and a couple messages from a number of people but most of the girls i find to be active are far from what i find attractive and mostly overweight. The quality of the people on here and the quality of the site, ESPECIALLY for the price is NOT WORTH IT!!! I’ve had better results from FREE sites even though most girls on those are just looking to chat and never meet, which again is why i expected much more for a paid site. E-HARMONY at least helps you find a match instead of asking for more money to show your profile to more people on a site you ALREADY PAID FOR!!!
New version HORRIBLE—go back please!
by FlCaliGuy on 2019/02/08 20:56
This new version is total crap. Was a Match subscriber years ago, and I am currently, but I will not renew based on this new version. Sometimes change is done just for the sake of change and actually screws things up… This is definitely one of those times!! BAD move. There is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving well enough alone. The new app is difficult to navigate around, it’s set up poorly compared to the prior version and also versions before that. In the past 24 hours I’ve noticed a reduction of views of my page, and I have a feeling that others are feeling as I am that it’s not at all user-friendly and a hassle. Also on one of my phones I can no longer use the Match app on that phone because I am running an older version of software, and it won’t even allow me to sign in. That aside, this new version is horrible and I am definitely going to look elsewhere. I hope that others express their dissatisfaction with the layout and functionality and maybe match will reconsider returning to the prior set up/version. If they do I will continue to subscribe otherwise I’m done. I give it an F. Please go back to the prior layout, this one is horrible. You ruined a pretty good thing.
Overrated and Needs A Refresh
by LadyLift83 on 2018/10/12 15:54
I wanted to love Match...I really did because it seemed to be the holy grail of dating apps. I’m a full time professional, parent of one in my mid 30s who began dating after a long period of being single. The matches were of no higher quality because the same people are on the free sites due to the mainstream nature of online dating in modern times. The user interface and features are just plain clunky and unnecessary in some regards. It just never felt like it was worth the cost. If you are just getting started with online dating I think it’s worth giving a try at least for a month or two just as a tool in your overall kit but don’t have high expectations. We live in a busy world and I found that some of the newer apps get it right in terms of simplicity. After a few months on Match I became more open minded to Tinder and had so much more success. I matched with good candidates and the app was so intuitive. I’m now in a loving relationship with a high quality man I met on Tinder and we matched within a month of me being on the app. No email no clunky interface no fee required.
Horrible customer service
by misslorielle on 2018/05/15 19:59
Match has the absolute worst customer service I have experienced with a app. They claim you can always speak to a live person what they don’t tell you is that there will be a person from the Philippines with a tenuous grasp of the English language. I signed up for a subscription April 27, 2018 and a week and a half into my membership my account was frozen. I could not login and was prompted to contact their customer service number. When I reached out to match they were unable to resolve the issue, not only that were they were unable to explain why I was ever locked out of my account in the first place. They offered no solutions or a refund of the membership price. They suggested instead I asked iTunes for refund. Apple has great customer service and of course they refunded my money. Now I am left to wonder what caused my account to be locked in the first place? For all I know it was hacked in my information stolen or someone else has control and is using my pictures and information which I’m very uncomfortable with. Match did nothing to ease my worries nor try to resolve the situation. I do not recommend a match as they do not care about the security of their patrons information.
It’s the worst dating app, period!
by reviewexpert123 on 2019/04/05 06:07
I downloaded this dating app hoping for a better experience but I got the worst I could imagine! It’s basically a trailer for a dating app. You have to pay to do very basic things other dating apps provide for free. The only thing you could do on this app is create a profile and swipe on others profile, that’s it! You can’t text them, you can’t see their text, you can’t see who liked you. Basically, other than liking the person you like, there’s no way of contacting them. You’re probably thinking, what if I leave my personal info, like a Snapchat or instagram handle in my bio and even though the person who liked me can’t contact me on the app, they could just reach me using that? Well, I’ve got some bad news! According to Match’s guidelines, you can’t leave ANY personal info in your bio. Not even your last name! So in general, if you’re not willing to spend your money on this dating app like me, I suggest you don’t download it in the first place! They should’ve not made it free to download in the first place to be honest. The only positive thing I can say about it is that, it’s not a hassle to delete your profile like it is on some other dating apps.
Not impressed, not sure why you have to pay so much?
by Tierra024 on 2018/01/19 00:14
I’ve been a member for 12 days, and I know it’s not a long time to try out the app, I have to say with being on a variety of dating apps in the past 5 years I’ve never been this outraged. I’ve spent $45+ on this app for one month to experience what I could’ve experienced on tinder! POF at least has a variety of questions for you to answer in order to see who may match with you and your interest the best. And bumble has it where the women are in control of who is contacting who. The matches I was paired up with went on zero basis, and had nothing to do with my preferences. I am giving his app two stars because it is a well developed app. And I appreciate the easy to use profile setup and layout of each module. But this is app is not getting any more then two stars because I could’ve had the same experience and outcome on another app that with don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for. Some other apps that function in the same are even free. I’m not exactly sure why I’ve paid $45+ but honestly, I wish there was a way to get my money back. I’m very dissatisfied.
Kinda disappointed and let down
by Jennyft on 2018/09/25 11:02
I joined Match with high hopes that because it’s a paid service there would be higher security and better algorithms to find my 10 out in this world. So I paid for a month to see how it is and I’m kinda disappointed. You can really get nickeled and dimed for all the extras so essentially if you really want to find someone you have to pay more. On top of all that my account was hacked and some person sent messages to a few men with a phone number for them to text in Wisconsin. I don’t even know how many they sent messages to because I only saw a few left in my message box. When I saw this I searched like crazy for a contact number to call but because it was the weekend I could only email. Then their response was that I needed to change my password (which I had already done), they disabled my account for a day, and credit me 7 days. So I’m really not impressed. The only reason I’m staying is because I paid for the month and I’m just hoping that anyone looking for a hookup wouldn’t shell out the membership fee unless they were serious about finding their 10.
Try another site.
by Trayou on 2019/03/21 17:21
This site claims to ‘match’ you with others but there are about eight questions about basics (marital status, age, smoker, drinker) and that is it. So I made my profile but never signed up. I didn’t know if I wanted to but I had a lot of ‘likes’ and messages, which you can only see once you pay. I figured when you pay for the ‘service’ you would be asked more questions and they actually pick people you ‘match’ with. But no. I am accessible for people to see all over the country not just the area I am looking in. And ages of all sort! I am 32 and have 60 year old men messaging me and checking my profile multiple times a day 😡. They must not review profiles because there are men messaging me and ‘matching’ that say they are 30 and look 70. I hate this site and wish I never paid. It is a pay for service that is the same as Tinder for free. Do yourself a favor and look into other dating sites that actually try and match you. Yes I tried requesting a stop of service and refund within 24 hours as I saw my inbox was full of people not even in my area, older- about 1/4 were an 80% ‘match’ or more- aka they didn’t smoke 🙄
Horrible Customer Service
by bgraces on 2018/04/29 18:53
This Company has the worst Customer Service I’ve ever experienced. I never go and write reviews but I am astonished at the lack of care they have for people. All they care about is making $$$. I had no idea they automatically enroll you in Auto Pay. I never choose to have it that way. I was under the impression that I made a payment and would cancel after that was over. I was not happy with the service I felt it was way too expensive and I got the same type of people as any free or cheaper site. I realized I was billed again and canceled that same day. They billed me for three months going forward. Since I canceled and wouldn’t be using any of those three months I called and asked for a refund. They refused. I calmly asked for a manager and was hung up on. I called three times and was hung up on after their “Customer Service” reps recites like robots the same answers. To be hung up on is completely inexcusable just because they don’t want to help resolve an issue. I’m so disappointed with this company. And I did not have in my finances to be billed multiple times. Thanks for making thins so difficult. I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone.
Match? More like Miserable
by Emisio_Tursero on 2018/03/31 04:23
I was told this app was great for getting people out there and helping them their perfect match. So I figured I’d try it and to use it, you have to pay. Perfectly fine with that... and to save money in the long run I payed for the more expensive plan and started to enthusiastically mingle with other singles with similar interests and I noticed that every time I’d try to send a message, it auto fills a cheesy pre-made message about an interest that looks not original whatsoever and on top of that, hardly anyone ever replies. Then the app has the nerve to offer me paid boosts on top of a paid service to be more visible, basically it’s a bold faced cash grab. The last thing I will say about it is that the daily matches have NOTHING to do with your preferences of a match, just random people from the list and furthermore, you don’t even get them daily. I went a whole week without any daily matches checking in every day. Overall, I’d say stick to the free apps. At least then they aren’t grabbing money from your wallet AND making you lose hope of finding someone. Match convinced me they didn’t care if I found my someone, but rather that initial payday.
A Sham
by Bdizz3793158 on 2018/01/30 20:52
Match is hands down the worst dating site that exists. I purchased the 6 month plan and at first logged on often and messaged people diligently. I was frustrated that even after paying for the service, my profile was still “at the back of the line” and was constantly prompted to make further purchases so my profile would be seen by more members. After a time, I continued to be disheartened and while I still logged on often, I never received a message because I refused to put more money into an already expensive subscription. Now, my subscription ended very recently and since that time, I have gotten notifications from Match multiple times a day that people have viewed me and that suddenly I have 9 messages - but oho! My subscription has lapsed so I can’t see the profiles or the messages. After six months of nothing, I am in disbelief that the notifications I’ve received are anything but a sham to get me to purchase another subscription. Do yourself a favor, and do not put money into Match. There are plenty of free or low cost online dating sites that are much better at treating their customers like people and not a paycheck.
Worst dating service ever. Disgusting customer service.
by Mashe848 on 2018/03/26 19:24
Scam, scam, scam. I paid for match thinking I'm getting 6 months for 25$ (dumb but I figured it was some sort of special, guessing they were banking for people like me) but after putting my card information in and submitting it I found out that I was getting charge 150$ for a service I never even tried. It was late so I simply sent an email and "canceled the subscription." I didn't hear back from the company and assumed I would be refunded 5 months. After dealing with a bunch of family issues and working 8-5 every day. I had to take time out of my work day to contact Match to see why I'm not refunded the money. I talked to a lady named May, who was very rude the entire time, laughing at me for thinking I was getting a refund. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she laughed again and said she could not do that. How does this service exist when it scams its members? I'm telling everyone I know to stay away from this page and tell them of the horrible customer service. I honestly cannot believe they have employees that laugh at their customers. It's disgusting.
Scam

I made my account out of curiosity to get an idea of what kind of people were in the area where I’m new, but I didn’t want to subscribe to anything or spend any money. But I noticed not long after I created the account that I had been signed up for a 6 month membership and my bank card had been charged the $50. So I immediately started trying to remedy this, but found only dead ends. The match app tells me I’m subscribed via iTunes and should adjust my subscription through the iTunes App Store, but iTunes doesn’t have anything on it to adjust any settings that I can find. So basically I was scammed out of $50 for this trash app I didn’t even want. For a short time I started actually using the app (for a couple days) and talking to people, but online dating is not for me and I don’t want this account that I’m being forced to pay for. I’m about to have to go to my bank and request a new bank card number and have to set up methods of blocking these types of payments because I can’t get rid of them otherwise. This trash app isn’t worth $10, much less $50 and I can’t get that money back that they stole.
Not bad... but...

In all fairness, this is the best dating app to look for women who are serious about relationships. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t run into the usual scammers who only want a free meal or an easy hookup. Match’s selective process helps you narrow down the results of you what you’re looking for, so be specific, and be patient. It’s worth signing up for 3-6 months. However, I’ve had several creepy experiences where I was catfished. This needs to be regulated better. Also, many of the female profiles are blatantly fake, to a “copy and paste” degree, which I find insulting to the intelligent users who sign up here. Many messages are read and not replied to, which also adds to my doubts of the authenticity of the app. Despite these things, it can be extremely difficult to meet single women (with natural chemistry) in real life, so if you’re serious about meeting someone, use Match. I’m 30 years old and had 5 dates in a month.
Don’t use if you value your time and money
by pizzalotus on 2018/01/22 16:12
The app is poorly designed and the website is not much better. Be prepared to spend most time on the app (and site) refreshing pages. Many of the features make no sense and you’ll question the value of being able to see “who’s viewed you” as well as wonder what exactly is the point of ‘likes’ as opposed to swiping ‘yes’ or just sending a message? Most users visible to me weren’t even in my area but instead were located in the adjacent towns usually up to 30-50 minute drives away. No refunds for the poor service they provide at an unreasonable price considering I’ve now had great experiences with free dating apps. This company preys on people’s loneliness and hopes you’ll get to the point of believing the more expensive paid service must somehow be better than all the free or cheap sites that may have frustrated you before. In reality, Match was miles behind the other dating services I tried over the last year and took much more of my money. They should hurry up, take their place among the relics of 1st gen online dating and just go out of business.
Just save your money
by Jaxkillzz on 2018/09/03 05:27
Just like all the other unhappy reviewers. Nothing new here... just move along. Unless you look like Brad Pitt or something and over 6’0 tall and make a lot of money, I would stick with the real world. Average dudes have no chance. I would like to see other paid members honestly so I’m not wasting my time writing them a message just so they can read it. Search algorithm is basically garbage for paid members. After shelling out all that money, you have to pay more money to be pushed to the front of the line where inactive users are king. Overall I would say just avoid all online dating apps. Maybe it was a thing back then, but now it’s just garbage. Wish I could get a refund of any kind. I’ve used the app daily with no response back from the hundreds of messages sent. I’ve tried all kinds of messaging techniques and yeah it’s a no go. I even responded to all the women who liked me that I didn’t find was a good match and even then they never responded back. Move along average joes nothing to see here. Even less attractive girls feel like a 10 on these apps lol.
This app is donkey booty terrible
by Ssx3000 on 2018/01/05 22:47
First, the interface for this app is terrible. They charge a premium to speak with others and non paying customers can barely do anything, even with the recent updates. They may look and might like but that’s about it. Having all the notifications fill your email inbox is bad. Now as far as “matching” their algorithm is bad. They kept matching me with people that weren’t really in my interest. I paid for both the subscription and top spot and it did nothing for me except take money out of my hands. Also, $30 for a professional profile???? Are you kidding me? That’s ridiculous. Now as far as matching with the women, and this is coming from a black man who works hard, it was a mess. I reached out to over 100 women within a month and barely got one response. Some of it has to do with the pricing but a lot has to do with they don’t care for black man as they claim. I feel I was cheated on of this junk service and would like my money back, my account closed and never again will I create a profile for a service like this. Waste of my time.
Just...no.
by KL1313 on 2018/04/23 00:56
Ugh. Every time you update the app, it gets worse!!! It takes an act of god to remove someone who has liked you (yeah, some of us don’t want to save every single person for all eternity) or block someone entirely. The “matches” feature shows me the same people over and over and over...some I’ve already gone out with and tried to hide/block. This is DC and you’re telling me in a 2-year period there’s not more than the same 20-25 guys in my area? And no matter how many times i specify something is a dealbreaker or must have, I’m STILL getting matches with those criteria. And not knowing how recently someone is active is absurd. So you want people to waste time on matches who haven’t been active in months? I mean, Match, I’m pretty tech savvy so it’s not that I just don’t “get” how to use the app...clearly all these other reviews have similar themes. Also, I’m not sure who is searching for me, but I’m 37 and get mainly likes and emails from guys over 50 or under 25 (FYI neither are even remotely close to the age range I’ve specified)...for real...what the heck am I going to do with that?!

I have been a member since 8 years ago but was never a subscriber until now, I have finally paid the 3 months membership just to test it out. I have messaged almost 100 potential others and from the observations, there are about less than 25% who have read the message and among those nearly 100 others, only 4 replied and never heard from after that. In my defense, I always read someone’s profile in its entirety and then write a thoughtful initial message (at least 100 words or more) reflecting what she wrote. Another huge negative and ripped off is that you can not find out whether someone is a subscriber or not until they have read your message, or looked at your profile. Therefore, it is a gamble each time I write to someone. Also, the search is very limited and there are LOTs of profile that are constantly “active” or “active within 12 or 24 hour” whom will never read your message or reply back or look at your profile. I am highly suspecting those are fake profiles. The reason why I strongly think that is because I have extensive experience of using dating apps (not the hook up ones like tinder/bumble) for over 8 years and I have seen more than enough and got ghosted too often. None of the women have time to commit or ready to date. Every single one I met wanted to play around despite what they put on their profile “looking for serious relationship.” I definitely regret paying this, should have gone for eharmony (even though it is much costly).
Don’t do it!!
by Paparob1792 on 2018/09/02 13:19
So many things wrong with this app. I’ll admit to being desperate enough to pay $80 that I didn’t really have for a three month subscription for match so I came here to share what I learned the hard way. The biggest problem I see here is that without a paid membership you cannot read or respond to messages but you will not be able to tell which accounts are paid and which ones aren’t. This will lead to wast countless amounts of time writing dozens of notes that the recipients will not even be able to read much less respond to. It’s a just money grab. And a total wast of your time. Bumble and Tinder both work great for free and are much more streamlined modern feeling apps. Unlike the clunky useless match. Another note, if I were a lady on match I would very strongly recommend you turn off the missed connections. I’m not a serial killer but it seems to me when match is showing me I’ve crossed paths with someone 10 times in the same spot it’s a good bet this is where she works or lives. Do you see where I’m going with this?
Terrible waste of time!
by Um.......no on 2017/10/10 19:11
I tried Match for 6 months which was a total waste of time. Scammers abound. I'd get likes from men, only to not be able to see their profiles. You can pay to go to the front of the line, or pay to make sure your message is received, or pay for any upgrades in general, including seminars. I'd get matched with people that weren't what I put on my profile, or I had to rate the ones I did want to view, instead of actually viewing them. I'd receive messages, go to reply, and the profile would not be available. Not to mention the add ons. Pay to guarantee someone gets your message? Seriously? I got matched with the same profiles over & over, throughout my entire time period. I don't know if their algorithms even work, and the app is just meh. I ended up meeting very few people overall. I was under the mistaken impression that I'd be better off with a dating site that I had to pay for. Guess I was wrong! I gave Match 2 chances, but after this last time, I won’t ever go back. I’ll try other dating sites, instead.
Most pointless dating app ever
by Crowshaul on 2018/04/26 06:55
Seriously, don’t waste your money on this garbage. The app doesn’t seem to have any determinable algorithm. After you answer all the questions and tell them exactly what you’re looking for (and what you’re not looking for), they continue to show you what seems to be 100% of the people on there. Meaning they don’t narrow down your candidates AT ALL based on the criteria you’ve given. So you then have to sift through tons of people who live nowhere near you (oh yeah, the radius that they automatically put on there and that you cannot change is all kinds of effed up), and who you specifically said you didn’t want to see. They also continuously show you THE SAME PEOPLE, over and over again, no matter how many times you swipe left on them. Additionally, if you opt for a payment package, it’s in the fine print that they automatically renew your subscription when it’s up. WITHOUT WARNING. And they make it near impossible to figure out how to cancel your subscription!! Ugh, worst impulse purchase I’ve ever made.
Terrible App
by Disappointed user 16885229 on 2018/02/18 00:34
It rarely loads, the same matches get repeated as I scroll through so you’re seeing the same 20 people. Not all of the profile features are available in the app so you need to use your computer to complete your profile. Pretty upsetting considering you pay to use this site. Had I read the reviews first I would have chosen a different site to spend money on. It’s also frustrating that there aren’t any personality questions like POF and other sites. Your ‘matches’ are based on if the pick the same generic set of hobbies as you (like ‘coffee’ ‘book club’ ‘sports’). While the quality of people is better and there are fewer fake accounts, I expect more personality-based marching from a paid site. Very disappointed. Additionally, I shouldn’t show up on someone’s list if they don’t meet MY must haves. Half of my messages are from people who are the exact opposite. They make enough money off of these subscriptions, this should be better than a free dating site.
Don’t Do It
by ProDogPetter on 2018/01/11 12:07
I earnestly went in hoping for the best. But was really creeped out when several men who I didn’t even match with found me on my private social media accounts. Upon mistakenly forgetting to unsubscribe, I was charged again for a six month plan. I wrote to customer service and also included my concerns about security. I was offered about a $9 refund on a +$60 charge and told that my subscription would expire in a month. It didn’t make sense to me. So I wrote back and received no reply. I received a survey asking about my customer service “experience” and again voiced my concerns. I never heard back. Also finding a phone number to contact the company is pretty hard. Email is pretty much all that’s available. It just really creeped me out that pretty much anyone could contact me even if I didn’t have any interest in them. I would not recommend, as it seemed to me money was their main concern and not customer satisfaction. And the “matches” were constantly repeating and not at all what I was looking for.
Worst APP I have ever used.
by paigenicoled on 2017/09/28 10:46
This review has nothing to do with the website or Match’s general performance as a dating service. It’s about this app. It is the worst app I have ever downloaded. 99% of the time it “can’t reset my password” when I try to log in. I’m not attempting to reset my password when I receive this error message. I haven’t been able to sign in on the app for weeks, and before that I was lucky if I could get in by my 10th attempt. This app is garbage. Match, and any other “traditional” dating sites, would be smart to invest time and funds into creating an easy to use, FUNCTIONING app. The people who use these services are becoming more and more tech savvy, and not having the option of a good phone app is going to drive people away. Sure they might sign up, make their profile, and actively use the site for a few days or even weeks; but if they don’t find a reason to log on every day within that initial excitement, they will move on to competitors who at least offer a decent on-the-go option.
Awful software, awful service
by Kumarohaize on 2018/11/10 04:28
Constantly recommends matches that dont have a thing in common with me. Wont let me filter matches any more based on common interests, so theres no way to get it to show matches remotely interesting to me. Even though im a paying member already, they constantly try to get me to pay for “boosts”, so my profile shows at ths top of other peoples lists when i dont match their criteria either. Awful service that gets worse every year. Stay away! PS The developer response below is complete garbage. The whole point is they dont let me filter or search criteria based on the one category i actually care about (common interests). 20,000 matches listed and the vast majority are useless matches. The whole idea was to finfd someone i have something in common with, which they make completely impossible in the mobile version. Exactly what I expect from Match — a bullshart answer that completely ignores the points I made. I stand by what I said — this app, company and service are a complete ripoff. Stay away!
Miserable Experience So Far
by Johnny92M on 2018/05/29 01:40
I paid for the six month long package because I figured that if I paid for a dating service such as Match that I would have a better chance of finding a genuine person than tinder or bumble. This was not the case. Even after paying for the app, match still advertises things like “boost” in an attempt to take more money from me. In terms of the response rate of other clients, I have received very few responses, in comparison to tinder or bumble where I would almost always get responses. For the monthly amount that I’m paying, I would expect more opportunities and responses. I recently moved, and even after clearing my cookies, I can’t seem to get my daily matches to show my current location. My advice to those considering paying for the app is to stick with tinder, bumble, or any other dating site that isn’t asking you to pay just to use basic features such as messaging. I wish I could build a time machine so I could go back to before I purchased the six month package.
WASTE OF MONEY; they don’t know what “match” means!!!
by Abellaphoenix on 2018/11/06 16:02
I paid for 3 months but after 1 week I’m not impressed. The search functions are limited and updating some things on my profile is not possible. First of all, I am unable to change some of the parameters of the “what I’m looking for section” on my profile such as distance. So right now I’m limited to 5 miles because I made a mistake in choosing that when I signed up. I can change that in the search function, but that doesn’t update my profile. Now it seems I’m stuck with that and I’ve paid for 3 months. It’s been less than a week. I also am constantly getting matched (by Match) with folks who are not a good fit (I’m way outside their age range, height, or body type)!! More than 75% of my matches are not a fit. The search function is one way. In other words, I’m constantly matching with folks but I don’t match what they’re looking for (age, height, body type). That’s frustrating because it requires more work. This is a basic function of a dating app: don’t display matches for whom I’m not a match. You can only upload 4 photos at a time and they have to be approved. One of my photos was not approved then I submitted it again and it was approved. Although they sent a list of the reason for not approving, the application of their rules is not consistent. It also seems that not a lot of folks use this app in my area. Overall, I’m better off on OKCupid or Tinder.
“Filter” has a lot of holes
by Majoylind on 2018/07/20 23:05
Let’s just say I wanted to title this review “If I wanted someone not to listen to me, I’d probably be in a relationship instead of trying online dating.” Despite the somewhat rigorous questionnaire and many fields of interest, lifestyle, and preferences to fill out, very few of my matches actually fit the criteria I was looking for. Personally, my faith is a very important aspect of my life-which I indicated in both my preferences and search filters-but most of my matches blatantly did not share that quality, and in some cases were blatantly opposed to religion. This was not the only criteria that was not taken into account for my matches but definitely the most notable. I’ve been on match on and off over the last few years and have not had any luck with it. It also seemed that I got more interest while I was a free user, but when I would pay the *high price for the subscription, interest dwindled significantly. I won’t be falling for this again. Very unhappy with lack of quality service.
Don’t waste your time OR money.

It makes no sense that living in the most populated city in the USA that there are NO prospects for me as a late 20s female. It seems as though the people who signed up for match when it first came out are the only ones left on here. Most all of the men are late 30s and early 40s pretty much. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about the $75 I spent for 3 months with this app. SO BAD. The functionality is very basic, other apps like OKC seem to care way more that you match with someone or learn something about them and they are 1/3 the price for 3 months. The design of the app also seems ancient. The colors, purple and off-white are an eye sore and do not make me want to stay on the app. There is no way to unsubscribe/opt out of their emails. Most companies put “unsubscribe” in the bottom of the email... nope, not them. For 3 weeks I was bombarded with emails of new likes and messages, turning it off didn’t help, I had to sign up for twitter and message them directly to turn it off. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Opinion
by unhappy with Match on 2018/07/28 23:54
The App is ok & somewhat user friendly. Just my thought when receiving a message from another member, it would be nice to have the message content sent with the notification to your email so you do not have to close your email and open the app. to read it. As far as Match itself, 3 complaints which Match obviously cannot control. I have been on & off for several years and it is the same women on year after year. Second, & I am told it happens with both sexes, the photos are rarely current and you never know who you are going to meet. Stop the lying and post a current picture. 3 I have met some nice people on here however there have been a few who were still married or living with someone as well the occasional few who will overindulge on alcohol & appetizers when you are paying the tab. My suggestion, stick to a coffee date.
Oh goodness
by Chicago girl 82 on 2018/06/29 05:21
The app is fine but I’ve been on the site since April and the choice of men are just horrible. I’m constantly being emailed by other members that don’t fit my specifications. ALOT of cougar men on this site looking for young women, I’ve been disrespected by men on who I’ve turned down, and have people contacting me from ridiculously far away. I find the cougar men to be extremely gross and I’m beginning to dread every time i see a message in my inbox for this reason. And a message for Match as i see you respond to reviews...i just want you to know that I’ve spoken to many people regarding my experience on match (including men on the site) and felt you should know that it’s starting to have the reputation as tinder. There are a lot of people that have fake profiles and are just looking for a “good time.” I’m sure this isn’t the reputation you want so thought i should pass this on. I have been contacted by members that fit this description.
So far this app is a dud...
by Ldybgk360 on 2018/07/21 14:40
So I’ve been using this app for maybe a month or so now. Truly it’s a complete dud for me, which is very similar to other dating apps except this costs money. Most of the time people don’t respond to messages, and truly if I have removed someone from my searches because I know there wouldn’t be a connection they should not show up in the daily ‘matches’ that are sent to you and they should not be able to show my profile to any person I remove. Truly I’d like to see a setup where what I set as my search parameters is who my profile is shown to. It makes zero sense for my profile to be shown to anyone that doesn’t meet the criteria I have set for my searches. Of course Match continues to show me people that don’t match my settings as well, so maybe their search function doesn’t work. If I wasn’t stuck in this 6 month paying for it crap I would have already deleted my account.
Daily matches don’t update
by Dzhared761 on 2018/05/05 13:12
Since one of the recent updates, I’ve gone onto the app and went through the daily matches. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards they don’t update when you like or dislike them. Even minutes later the set I just went through reappears as though I didn’t go through them at all. And you know that people dislike? Being sent notifications multiple times that someone has “liked” you. It’s stalker-y. Since Match app engineers can’t seem to figure this out and fix it, why bother swiping left or right at all? Better yet, why use this service since the quality seems to be based more in gaining subscribers by showing flashy tools instead of concentrating more on matching people? Though I’m eligible for the Match Guarantee, I’m going to end my subscription as they can’t continue to attract new subscribers in my area. The few rare new members are mobbed immediately and sent into hiding.
Payed dating, but with guilt for not paying more!
by Adventure590 on 2018/01/28 01:25
I get mostly the same matches every day, so it is a much more limited selection than the free apps (I live in Fort Collins, Colorado) which might not necessarily be bad, but... every single time I open the app (despite the fact that I’m paying 25 a month for this nonsense) it wants me to pay more actual physical money to “boost my profile to the top” or something, and the only alternative selection is “No, I’m fine at the back of the line.” Apparently I’m paying monthly to be “at the back of the line.” Awesome. Unfortunately I’m on the three month plan, but when it ends I will be so happy to delete this app from my phone and never download it again. Much better luck with tinder and OK Cupid. Update - one month in literally every single one of my daily “matches” has no picture and has not been on match in a month. This accompanied by daily cheerful reminders that I’m at the back of the line. Thanks, Match. Again, just so so glad you have my money.
Used to be a good app
by keithshepherdfineart on 2018/03/21 00:43
This is one of about 4 dating apps I have. I was going to try it again, and see if it’s worth paying for. It used to be like a lot of them and if you message someone, they can read your message and you can interact. The likes and winks were usually invisible until you pay, and that was fine. NOW, you can’t see ANYTHING. You can see how many people like your profile, and you can probably see if someone messages you, but you can’t read messages or send at all. So what’s the point? At least give us a reason to join besides the possibility that the person that “liked” you has paid as well, AND they’ll see any message you’re allowed to send them (now that you’re paying) You go to all the trouble to set up a thought provoking profile, to find out you can’t do anything but watch the likes go up and never meet them, which are probably fake profiles anyway, from what I’ve read on other reviews. Oh well, back to POF, and ok Cupid, I guess

I tried this app etc. on and off over several years and with no success or positive results. I would write to women and never hear back. Some will say it is a numbers game and that you are lucky to hear back from one out of every ten. I thought that is why we’re on this site because we want to meet someone. Secondly the app doesn’t look at your preferences at all and I’d get matched with women who are not even close to what I’m looking for. Thirdly from what I can see the women on here only want tall athletic good looking guys who make six figure salaries. If the profiles are real then maybe that’s why they’re in their thirties and still single. Or they are fake profiles. Lastly once I canceled my membership I would get messages stating that my profile has been viewed by more women than ever viewed it while I paid, and of course I can’t see who looked unless I resubscribe. Maybe this app/site was worth it once but not any more. Complete waste of time and money.
It’s a trap!
by 748n8 on 2018/04/01 00:36
Although I had several successful dates and an overall decent experience, I eventually met someone (offline, in-person like nature intended) so I cancelled my subscription. Prior to canceling, I had not been active online, so I wasn’t receiving many likes, messages, etc. Literally the day after canceling (removed my pics, changed my summary to “subscription cancelled, no longer active on Match”, AND changed my profile to “hidden”) I started receiving a litany of messages from beautiful women. Today I received 10 messages from women w gorgeous profile pics. Of course I cannot read them bc my membership has been cancelled. Coincidence? I think not. I think scam. I even changed my communication preferences to no longer send me email notifications and I’m still getting emails. So frustrating. If you’ve read all the reviews/complaints about fake profiles, it’s 100% true. Match has many shady business practices but this is infuriating. Think twice before joining.
Misleading
by Beej1254 on 2018/08/12 14:24
I subscribed to match for one month. During my time I had a bit of luck and even went on a few dates. Ultimately though, the experience with match was poor. The service seems very misleading, and I question how many profiles are of real, active users. I went 2 weeks out of my month subscription with zero notifications or replies. I didn’t auto renew my subscription, and literally the DAY my subscription expired I received 10 new notifications stating that someone liked or viewed my profile. Regardless I didn’t renew until almost a month later. Excited to see the new matches or potential matches, I signed in. To my displeasure the NEW notifications I received were actually notifications for profile views and likes I had ALREADY GOTTEN during my first initial subscription. Match seemingly deliberately mislead me into thinking my new notifications were from new interactions when they were actually from things I’ve seen before. WATCH OUT.
Too many inactive users
by abababanab on 2018/11/09 16:26
Usually 70+ percent of the suggested matches were not even active members anymore. I dated several people on this site and every single one of them misrepresented themselves. You have to jump to the gauntlet of false information, altered pictures and deceiving posts. I’m sure it’s also like that on a lot of other dating sites. I have had tons of contact by likes and messages since I’ve been around. I had a several who immediately wanted my home phone number and email address. I don’t give my phone number out until I know somebody, nobody else should do it either! I immediately started getting spam from that person for pornographic materials. So you have to be very cautious, there are a lot of spammers out there and unfortunately most of the sites cannot control that unless complaints are made..
Don’t sign up!!
by JR123567890 on 2018/06/30 17:56
It is a scam! The customer service is absolutely horrible. They hook you with a deal and if you don’t go into your account and turn off renewal they automatically sign you up for another 6 months at $100. It’s not worth it when you hardly use the app to begin with. I had a friend that told me his account was adjusted and I called and asked for the same and all because I talked to one guy just a couple of sentences back and forth and just like a few days after the renewal date, they said they could not reimburse me. I asked to speak to a manager and they WOULD NOT ALLOW ME to speak to anyone else and I talked to 3 different representatives. When the one representative finally told me he couldn’t do the reimbursement because me talking to that guy. He could see the WHOLE conversation!! Super creepy!! They are all perfectly trained scam artists and creeps! What kind of person does that job?!! Yuck! Don’t go with them, use a free app. Bumble works just fine for me.
Zero stars if possible
by d. on 2017/11/22 12:43
The “matches” this site makes for me are guys who don’t fit my “must haves” or I don’t fit theirs. And almost all of the messages I receive are from men who don’t meet my “deal breakers”- the emails are filtered on the website but not the app. And many emails I receive are men accusing me of being paid to be on the site or a fake profile or upset that I am not interested- so many bitter men, and i can’t help but think it’s because the site has lead them to believe this, or doesn’t monitor the type of people who sign up. You don’t have this issue of harassing messages on other sides bc you can only message people when you mutually like each other. Also, I bought Top Spot and it says there are tens of thousands online right now, so I hit Top Spot, and it will say 250 men are seeing your profile, but it just shows me the same 5-10 profiles, multiple times. So basically, the same 10 guys are viewing my profile 10-20x...?!? Garbage!

Way overpriced and overrated

It’s alright
by Gtarny on 2019/05/07 17:37
There are a lot of people on this app yes BUT it’s be much better if the users actually logged on and used it most people just make an account and never get of after.

I have NEVER subscribed to this app. NEVER. I noticed my bank statement for my apple subscriptions were high but I am a graphic designer and so use expensive apps to do my job.
Don't waste your time and money
by Hamed2323 on 2019/05/03 11:33
Don't waste your time and money.
Maybe others will have more luck, but Match was just not for me.

by i wanna die 828293628 on 2019/05/03 02:15
You see a girl you like? Go ahead and like her oh but if you want to message her so she actually notices you you have to PAY for the membership. Oh you want a boost? Too bad that’s going to cost you. Oh you want to see the 6 people that liked you? Oh too bad you have too ________, You guessed it, PAY. Literally every thing has a price and you still match with absolutely no one. Just get Badoo or Bumble or hell even Tinder because at least there you have some freedom.

by Jbelanger80 on 2019/05/01 17:00
I will never pay to use this app again.

Stick to the free sites & save your money!

by Tumaini on 2019/04/28 23:12
First, DON’T purchase more than a month at a time because it’s throwing your money away.
This app was the biggest waste of money and no options.

by sparcjockey on 2019/04/27 01:50
Can’t get to search without going through the profiles Match feeds you.

Scam
by Lhhhiggskhjdefhx on 2018/02/27 18:54
I made my account out of curiosity to get an idea of what kind of people were in the area where I’m new, but I didn’t want to subscribe to anything or spend any money.
Not bad... but...
by CaptBradleigh on 2018/10/03 02:02
In all fairness, this is the best dating app to look for women who are serious about relationships.
Not recommended
by MaliciousMark on 2018/05/06 18:28
I have been a member since 8 years ago but was never a subscriber until now, I have finally paid the 3 months membership just to test it out.
Not so sure...

Oh goodness

Absolute trash
by Garden state guy on 2019/02/04 00:32
I tried this app etc. on and off over several years and with no success or positive results.
Garbage!
