I hate it
by rh7508 on 2019/04/18 19:33
This site is bull crap. Where you get the numbers to base your claims on I don’t know. But overall it has been an overpriced load of bs.
Cost money to do anything
by Jessica6173 on 2019/04/18 18:45
You can’t view or receive or even send any messages without paying. Lots of other apps let you do that for free. Don’t use this app, there is much better ones that will give you the same benefits for free. Such as Tinder or Hinge.
2 days and I have canceled
by Jump272123 on 2019/04/18 16:52
I canceled my membership. They did give me a refund thankfully. But after signing up through the website my debit card was hacked one day after, if they can’t keep that safe how do I trust this site with my dating life. Also I have emailed twice and I know they can’t stop it but I do not feel safe or okay with the fact that anyone who has a match.com profile can see my profile no matter their age and if it’s not in my age group. Just because a 37 year old wants to match with a 24 year old doesn’t mean they should be able to see the profile, if it’s not in your age range but if is great then you should be able to match. It makes me feel very unsettled.
No one is communicating there
by rutine626854 on 2019/04/18 15:04
It’s complete waste of time, seems like people just wasting their time on this app and don’t talk to each other
Bad UI
by Sahara1999 on 2019/04/18 14:47
You keep modifying the UI and making it less user friendly. Just stop!
Not worth it
by winter fun low on 2019/04/18 05:57
I downloaded the app and I got like and people waiting to hear from me but to do so I would have to spend money and get a subscription. Bumble is way better then this app
App is stingy af.

Was terminated for no reason
by Bryan Hoffer on 2019/04/17 21:28
I was terminated because they don’t allow married individuals... I didn’t put that was married. I’m not married. ??????
Not worth it
by BigSexyBubba on 2019/04/17 16:53
The problems with this app (and Match.con in general) are numerous. Here are a few: 1. Too many fake profiles. 2. Too many outdated/no longer active profiles that appear in searches. 3. Functionality is VERY limited compared to the full website. 4. Search results rarely update, so you see the same profiles over and over and over. 5. Match recommendations are NOT EVEN CLOSE to the criteria you enter. Overall, the app is too limited, the results are less than stellar, and the general experience is horrid. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy.
Poor matching algorithm
by ChrisM055 on 2019/04/17 09:54
Had this for going on six months or so now and have had very few matches, most of the “people” on the app are old defunct profiles that haven’t been active in some time. Definitely not worth paying for a subscription when you can just go on something and bumble and get better results posting the exact same info for free.
Worst dating ever.
by K in ut on 2019/04/17 03:49
Purchased a month subscription. And nothing! I’ve been on other dating sites within hrs had several replies. They want more money out of you to get any results. What ever you do don’t waist your money!!!!!!
Ugh!
by Intggsr4 on 2019/04/17 02:13
Who is designing this app! The layout is terrible and the colors are so annoying.
Most freakishly weird people ever!
by bobofogaortari on 2019/04/17 00:45
Ok... are you really your age? There is more people who should be on Our time messaging me who say 39-50 look 70 and are not in my age bracket to begin with. California men are weirdos and have been all duds. If anyone says from Northern California run. One guy looked like uncle fester sent me 20 year old pictures. And when we met up was proud to announce turning 60. But willing to take a chance I met up... A Mug only a mother could love. Not to lump people... but this is bad! The speed dating event was even worse...I recommend any state but Northern California . I will return to New York, where men are not extraordinary misfit angry crack pots! By the way if anyone gives you an autobiography of their life . If the person is far from important, it’s hint they are a narcissist.
Just turned into another Tinder clone
by G392019234 on 2019/04/17 00:41
The new update basically turned the app into another Tinder clone. If you want to search, it is buried and you have to navigate away from the main Tinder feature. I won’t be renewing my subscription once it is up.
Unable to search
by too manu animals on 2019/04/16 16:47
After your most recent update I find I am unable to search from your iPad app. I am still able to search via the iPhone app and internet browser. Please don’t screw those up too...
Predators
by Candid Cameron on 2019/04/15 23:54
There are some key points that make for an online predator. Someone using a dating site design for relationships when what they really are trying to use it for is a free sex worker. Let’s say within a couple messages or a few minutes into a first date unsolicited demands for certain attire or fetishes or groping or flat out saying let’s go back to someone’s place for sex occurs. And I report this to match. And these people get to remain on the site and do it again and again. Even had one person say well it’s because you’re on Match that I thought I could use you for this. Are you still on ladies so watch out using this site. Match does not take them down for disrespecting, assaulting, or solicitation.
Muy mala experiencia
by sonadora14 on 2019/04/15 18:23
La mayoría de los que conocí aquí son casados y solo quieren sexo , la verdad muy mala experiencia. You need to change ...instead to meet real singles to meet real merried and cheaters

Messaging Feature Not Working Properly For Weeks
by Victoria Woodhull on 2019/04/14 22:01
DON’T SIGN UP FOR MATCH!!! The most important feature is messaging, in order to see if there’s interest on either members’ part. For weeks, I’ve been told by guys that my messages randomly disappear as they are reading my messages (current and past messages), and then they’ll mysteriously reappear some time later. It’s gotten so bad/so unreliable that we’ve opted to share phone numbers in order to text one another outside of the Match app. That’s not ideal, since providing your personal phone number takes you out of what should be a more protected interaction that the Match app should provide. Additionally, I just had a guy message me to say that our attempt to converse isn’t working...I’m losing out on the chance to meet this person because he clearly isn’t getting my messages...I can see that ‘sent’ messages go unread - they aren’t visible to him and he therefore thinks I’m not conversing/interested. I can see which messages were read - and he must think that I’m nuts or incapable of carrying on a conversation. (He’s only seeing just about every other message that I send.) I called Match roughly two weeks ago to report this issue - and directed Match to the three guys guys with whom correspondence was not working. Match could easily see - via the messaging app correspondence with these guys - that they report that my messages disappear. This issue should not persist for this period of time - it’s unacceptable. Match has no solution - or simply doesn’t care. They didn’t care about this issue when I reported it - they didn’t understand what I was reporting and the representative chose instead to say that they can’t control when someone reads a message. I had to work hard at getting the rep to understand the real issue at hand. He finally did, but didn’t seem to really care.... MATCH IS A WASTE OF MONEY! (Oh, on another semi-amusing note - their crack programmers provide an option of 12” in the ‘inches’ section of your height option...12” shouldn’t be there...once someone’s height passes 11”, you round up to a foot...as in someone is 6’ tall and not 5’ 12”.)
Terminated my account for no reason
by BLACKSLAJ on 2019/04/14 19:57
I downloaded the app and set up the free account last week and had no problems. Two days ago I decided to pay for one month Subscription and after I paid for it my account was automatically locked. I received an email stating that I was married and they close it. First of all, I am not married, I am divorced and I put Divorced on my profile. After calling three times to talk to someone and nothing was resolved. Someone from the corporate office emailed me two days later and didn’t solve the problem at all. They did not ask for proof of my divorce or why I so called put I was married. They terminated my services for no reason without any evidence or information from me. It baffles me that after I paid... my account was closed. The customer service workers was very rude and unwilling to help.
Not dependable for the iPad
by ThunderSpartan on 2019/04/14 18:22
The latest version has broken the app for iPad, you don’t see matches on iPad at all, but you can on the phone. This happens way to much, not going to renew.
Men?
by alwaysontime! on 2019/04/14 14:43
I would “enjoy” match more if I met compatible appropriate matches. This system has yet to do that, so I so far have perpetually met; men who aren’t who or what they say they are. Liars and grand illusioners don’t register with me. On the same hand though, Match can’t create “great” men, it’s not matches fault that there are relatively few men on this earth who have integrity, and those men are more than likely taken. Unless they are younger and haven’t been taken yet, so The quest continues, under 40 is my only hope. God Help Me.
HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
by Sheneka Adams on 2019/04/14 13:55
I downloaded the app, paid for a full subscription and within three days of using the app, I found myself logged out. I have been waiting for 3 days to get a response. They have horrible customer service not to mention they delete your account and then tell you they can give you a reason! DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS SHADY APP! THEY WILL HAVE YOU PAY FOR MEMBERSHIP AND STEAL YOUR MONEY!
Account blocked
by gacire on 2019/04/13 17:30
I received a promotional email to subscribe for roughly about $12/month for 6 months. Fast forward to 6wks later and my account was blocked. I email customer service only for them to tell me it was “inadvertently disable due to a technical issue.” So what happens? They refund me my money and say I have to resubscribe. For the low price of.... $21.67 for each of the 6 months. If the issue was technical then why not just reactivate the account. Why go as far as refunding me my money and making me try to subscribe again. It seems like a scam to me.

Paid and now can’t even get to my account
by Jahixnahxiwvysjwjizjw on 2019/04/12 19:04
I paid and few hours later it signed me out. Apparently this happens to a lot of ppl. I’ve tried my email and password that is saved on my phone and an error message pops up. They literally took my money and booted me out of the app. I’m gonna wait and see if they charge me and if so, I’m definitely gonna get a refund
DON”T USE MATCH.COM
by Ok to Eat on 2019/04/12 17:46
I tried this service again and again I got locked out of the app. Contacted service and that takes several days that you don’t get back. Now they are telling me my account is closed and they can’t tell me why. Also they will not refund me my money and I have 3 weeks left. This app also just has tons of half filled out fake profiles. Do not waste your time with this service it’s just pure crap!!!!!!!!
Not very helpful
by raddogmom on 2019/04/12 08:33
I’ve been using this app/site on and off for a few years. It used to verify its members and show you the ones who were verified as real. They don’t do that anymore. I paid for the premium service, and asked for profile review, it took almost a month to get the review and that’s because I asked for it. Most of the “matches” they send me aren’t what I’m looking for, and they haven’t been active in forever. I’m 34 and I get mostly 50 somethings trying to talk to me. You also used to be able to “unlike” a person. Now, to get them off your “likes” list, you have to block them. Ridiculous, and have had mostly a start of conversation that seems to be going well, then they disappear.
Poor Selection
by Save your coins, sis on 2019/04/12 02:48
I joined this app from the glowing reviews and the attractive advertisements. No one on here is attractive, some people look MUCH older than what’s on their profile, and the options are the sticky ish at the bottom of the barrel. I feel like Match is a bait and switcher. Bait you with all of your potential matches and messages you need to respond to, join and see all that catfishes, literally. I’ve had more luck on free dating sites such as Bumble and even a Tinder. Save your coins sis. 3 month subscription = sewage money!
Scam
by selam1122 on 2019/04/11 23:09
This app is scam. I purchased the 6 months for over $100 sent over 100 msgs and didn’t get any reply all ghost profiles.. Company should be sued for this

by Jonohara21 on 2019/04/11 21:06
Match.com is mostly high maintenance and picky women. I would like normal woman over high maintenance and women. But sad that Match.com don’t have. For me, it not worth it. If you looking for high maintenance women then Match.com is for you and good luck!
Don’t bother
by TeamRiceRacing on 2019/04/11 17:32

Not worth the money - keep charging after I canceled
by LandscapeSW on 2019/04/11 15:30
Offers nothing that OKC doesn’t offer for free, much smaller pool of people. Messages only get seen by others who pay, so there’s a lot of time wasted sending messages that never get seen. Skip this one. **Months after I canceled (in Apple Pay and in the app) they charged me a $90 renewal.

Worst dating service out there.
by Knightmare-1991 on 2019/04/10 17:56
I created an account a while back ago because I have seen so many adds about how great this app was. And the subscriptions aren’t cheap. I paid for a membership witch ended up being a three month for about 60 dollars. Not once did I recover a match nor a message. The app claims that it finds matches when I doesn’t. I thought. Maybe I need to give it more time but yet nothing when I tried to cancel the membership I was told there was no refunds. And yet till this day I haven't received any matches likes comments messages. This app is a waste of time and money. Do not I repeat do not purchase or download this app they will just take your money and say oh well.. I would not be renewing my sub.
Nota big fan

I came on to this site hoping it would different then the ones that i use , but actually it’s worse . The other sites at least if your subscription ran out you could still kinda chat with those who at least matched or messaged you I have all these likes and messages and can’t see who they are. I paid for it once already and wasn’t impressed so I let it ride I hope there is improvements
The Worst. Period.
by Foxz26 on 2019/04/09 23:20
“MATCH” is garbage. Please don’t get it. These money-hungry fools need to be put out of business. The app is terrible and they charge crazy amounts for everything. Most of the profiles are abandoned and there aren’t that many girls who I would consider attractive. I’m giving it 1 star but it doesn’t deserve that. If I could, I’d give it a -4 stars, and that’s being generous. Save your money for the club or bar.
Opt out
by Traveling_blue on 2019/04/09 20:16
Your app preferences are only for push notifications and your emails don’t have unsubscribe option. I’m surprised you have not been sued yet. Please stop by emails!! I should be able to do everything via mobile app.

Crappy
by poets die young on 2019/04/09 17:45
So the 6 month guarantee where they give you 6 months of service if you don’t match with anyone has a lot of fine print to it. I felt like I was scammed. Once my subscription ran out, I was unable to access old messages from when I was a paid subscriber. Bumble, tinder, or any of the other services do not do that. You get nothing out of using this service unless you pay and in my opinion the other online services are better. Horrible customer service too!
Paid $90 then they BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT
by UpsetIU on 2019/04/09 12:34
I would never recommend his app to anyone!! This is the third time that this is happening in a span of 4 months! Unfortunately! I just made a payment ($90) for a premium membership only to wake up the next day to receive a message that my account has been BLOCKED when I tried to login. Why would they scam me, take my subscription money and not provide the service that they purport to? Very disappointing! 72 hours later and they still haven’t responded to my email or dealt with the situation! Hence I’d never recommend this app to anyone!
This app is fake

Unauthorized charge!
by Araches on 2019/04/08 21:11
6 months ago I purchased a 6 month package for a really good deal. I knew it was set up to automatically renew, so I made sure to unsubscribe through my AppleID as well as through the website... but I was charged $131.94 for another 6 months this past week. I called Match and they asked if I received a confirmation email stating my subscription had been canceled... I didn’t see one so no... which means they can only refund me for 5 months instead of the full 6 months. I have been in a relationship for 5 months (via OKCupid) and I have to pay for 1 month on Match because I didn’t get a confirmation email. 👎
Guarantee is voided by using the app
by Sir bored a lot on 2019/04/08 18:52
So match offers a”guarantee”, that if you pay for 6mo, and don’t find a partner after 6mo,they’ll give you six months more, free. I saw this, thought worth a try, so downloaded the app and paid for 6mo. Just finished six months, started some conversations, but nothing solid yet so, asked for my six months free to keep trying to find love, and Match said “oh, while it doesn’t specify in the ad or the fine print, you have to make the purchase thru the website, not the app/Apple. So buy another 6mo thru website and we’ll honor our guarantee.” Yeah...and your word is good, why? Cheats and swindlers.
Broken the app again
by UncleBuck12 on 2019/04/08 18:46
The app has never been as fully featured as the web page. In addition, the interface keeps changing. Many new features are gimmicks to emulate other apps, like swiping left or right. This release broke discovery, and doesn’t handle page redirects from email: it launches the app but doesn’t load the profile in question. It would appear that the app team didn’t properly QA before release.
Auto renewal policy
by mkyths on 2019/04/08 04:52
Its ridiculous how hard y’all make it to turn off this stupid auto renewal! I will never buy a product from you again this is holding people hostage. They just give up you make it so confusing to ever leave. There is no reason other than greed to auto renew people and make it this hard to leave this stupid app.

Better dating apps out there
by dallasinpcola on 2019/04/07 16:34
This one only allows for window shopping. You can’t contact or see who’s contacted you without paying a very high subscription. Plenty of Fish is better. FYI. Most singles sign up for multiple sites anyhow, so chances are you are better off going to one that doesn’t charge an arm and a leg just to *see* who’s interested as the same people on here are more likely to be on there too. Match is a total rip off.

by Babyraz on 2019/04/07 14:49
When I didn’t pay for the site, every day I had a “like.” Now that I have paid for a month services to see what all my matches are, and likes.I get no more emails with so call “likes.”🤔 All the females that I have liked, not one of those have responded🤔. Seem like this site is like the others. I don’t believe am that am ugly or mind set is of ugly. Or maybe I have to buy the big package to get results,(money-making-site) not really to help no one match.
Worst than blind dates.
by BunsandMoose on 2019/04/07 13:34
Too expensive. This is double and triple the subscription of other dating apps. I understand only the serious people pay for this, but come on. I have to pay just to see who likes me. And that’s not even a Match yet. At least give us the ability to make a educated decision instead of a blind decision if you are going to charge us this much just to see who “like” us.
Not user friendly at all- horrible
by juniper1030 on 2019/04/07 06:54
How is it possible for anyone and everyone to message you for a paid service?? And to change that it has to be an additional charge?! In 2 days I have over 90 messages from people 2x my age, this is such a bad user experience!!! I also went to the help section but the email preferences no longer exists in settings, and I am getting an email for every one of these messages- so my email is ruined as well. Can’t believe I signed up for 6 months of this and I’m only on day 2. If there’s a way to get a refund, I’d like one immediately.
Search found No Matches
by Schmoozer0069 on 2019/04/06 20:57
Ever since the most recent update every time I open the app it tells me that no matches were found. I tried modifying my search criteria with no luck. Really annoying and it amazes me that this made it past the developers.

I don’t really to expect to meet anyone on match at this point. It isn’t match’s fault. The women are kind of a bummer. I don’t blame Match. It has been kind of degrading. I’m out.
Limited capabilities and interface, outdated and unsophisticated
by Miaotiao on 2019/04/05 11:13
I’ve had this app for leas than a week. Profiles are repeated multiple times; for example, when it says there are 248 matches with your preferences, half of them are duplicate or repeats. They don’t vet users so I notice many men have two and three profiles where they use different ages, different occupations, etc. There are several men doing that, each profile is different but they have the same name. Match also lacks the ability to show you matches according to preferences; for example, I mark my preferences in age, location, etc, and match matches me with men older and younger, and further away.
It’s the worst dating app, period!

Frustrating!
by Sgt7212 on 2019/04/05 00:58
I used to get 10-12 daily matches. All of a sudden, I’m getting 42. I do not have hours in the day to dedicate to reading and going through that many daily matches. Whoever came up with that idea should be fired. By default, I don’t even look at them anymore, except for the first one. I just hit no over and over again until they are all cleared. I can understand 10-12... I can even understand 15-20 daily matches... but not more than that. Ridiculous! Frustrating! Irritating!
Need more quality people

Seems like some dude’s don’t even put the effort into their pictures. Some don’t even have a picture. And the amount of unsolicited messages you get is a bit overwhelming to read all of them. I like the app bc it’s convenient but I’m finding it hard to keep up with all the messages, likes, daily matches etc. and still haven’t even gotten a date

Advertising themselves as a classier way to date and meet people is just a front to get your money. While offering one month, three month and yearly subscriptions, you will automatically be billed as their terms way down hidden will have you on an auto renew system. You can go into subscriptions and unsubscribe but you will still be charged (your initial subscription price annually according to your sign up length and price)until you physically call them and ask to be removed honestly it’s pretty sickening how apps and websites continue to be so shady. In addition they have now confirmed their sight to many of the same platforms as the free sifts like tinder and bumble. In addition the quality of women in my opinion is leagues lower than the other sights. Woman simply don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for a simple and sub par service you can go elsewhere and get for free. Neither should you.
Got scammed
by Funnybaggs on 2019/04/03 19:31
I was denied a profile and didn’t ever get an explanation. Thinking oh well no big deal I went on with life. It’s a year later and I find out they had been charging me 42.99 a month since. When I contacted them they said it wasn’t their fault and to contact Apple. I feel they should have refunded the first month and if I don’t have an account why keep charging me???
Rip off / scam
by Ricko9 on 2019/04/03 12:55
I signed up on Match.com last Sunday and purchased a one month subscription. Barely 2 hours later I couldn’t log in my account. I tried again after an hour and it said my account has been blocked by violation of terms. I’ve tried to get a refund but the customer service told me they can’t refund because I subscribed with a gift card or whatsoever. Total rip off

Latest version doesn’t give you a “show more” link under people’s text blurbs, so you can’t read everything they wrote. Kinda makes it harder to try to understand someone...
Is this a scam?
by LostAgain789 on 2019/04/03 09:46
I’m still not 100% this is legit. Either I’m that ugly and boring that no one is interested in me or it’s just all a scam. Send messages and get no replies back. I get likes but it’s from girls 3 states away. How is that matching????
Waste of money

No better than POF now
by Shmave on 2019/04/02 20:10
Yesterday the app changed to monetize “likes” and “viewed me” functions. I understand the business objective however Match stood out as having these options free, until 4/1. Bad April fools joke Match Updated 4/2/19: not only have they started charging for the aforementioned, you can’t even communicate with anyone unless you’re a paid member!! Profit over functionality. Worse decision ever!

Bad support and no help
by Mnop Q Martin on 2019/04/02 00:27
Short story: Profile was hacked two weeks in to a three month subscription. Changed passwords. Profile still acting odd. Match could not confirm if it was secure. Compromised my info and info of people who sent me messages. Still couldn’t help. Refused refund. I would not trust them with my personal information if I were you. Long story: I had downloaded the app and had a couple connections in the first week. I had paid for a three month subscription to get a better deal. At around two weeks of having the app, my account got hacked somehow. The profile picture had changed and a few details in the profile description changed to fit the picture, but everything else stayed the same. The person had reached out and sent messages to a bunch of people in Michigan, I live in the South. I changed my password and reset everything. I reached out to support to say I’d been hacked. They suggested I change my password. I let them know I did. That was as far as the help went there. Shortly after, when I went back to the app, I noticed that when I went to look at “Who’s viewed you,” my own profile came up as viewing myself. So I recontacted support to see if they could confirm if my account was still compromised or not. They could not. They suggested I contact technical support to see if they could help with the glitch. They could not. This was part of the email I received. “We received your report of technical issues with Match, and we’re so sorry to hear about the difficulties you’ve experienced. While we do review all reports of technical issues, at this time we aren't able to respond to each one individually. We will certainly reach out to you if we need additional information so there’s no need to reply to this message, but it may be helpful to review our online Help page here.” Again, no help. I had talked with customer support to say that since they could not confirm if my information was still compromised, I needed to shut down my account. Since it was a technical issue that they were not willing to solve, I requested a refund. I was denied. I asked if there was anything I could do. They said since it was a subscription I could contact Apple, but that if I cancelled, I would lose that money. So bottom line, my personal information compromised, the people who sent me messages, including phone numbers and meeting locations, compromised, no promise of things secure now, not able to help, no refund for services they will no longer be rendering.
Don’t do it!

I have been a member of Match for about 2 months now. Literally this app/website has so many fake accounts trying to acquire your information to steal your money or identity. Another thing. The price for a one month subscription seems to expensive. I even tried to get a free trial so I can decide if I should buy or not and the trial didn’t even work. You really want a peace of advice? Search for your match elsewhere. This app/website will only drain money out of you. You want to meet the one then go out there and search for it in person.

Been on the site for almost six month I feel that their matching algorithm is very inaccurate, non of my preferences actually matters. For example if a person viewed you the day before you will be matched the next day. I will not renew my subscription as I feel that’s a total waste of my time. Very disappointed
“Unable to locate your account”
by sasmith519 on 2019/03/04 23:01
I downloaded the app and purchased a month subscription to Match last week. Within the few few days of having the account. I woke up one morning and my account was logged out on my app. So I tried to login and it said that my password was incorrect, I tried again and no luck. So I hit the reset password link and waited for the email that never came. I tried again later that day and the next day. No email. I submit a support ticket to customer service and give them my info. They email me back and say they cannot find my account. I send them screenshots of my charge through Apple, an email notification of a message in my account and all of the information they requested. And of course they say “Unfortunately, I'm having trouble tracking down your account based on the information I have.” So I send more information, I check spam folders, I jump through all the hoops they requested and I am concerned that someone hacked my account. Meanwhile it seems like they are not concerned at all about this issue and are unwilling to provide any explanation as to what methods they have tried to find my account or concern over a potential hacking. I requested them to refund my money since I literally only used the app for 3 days and they said I need to contact Apple. So I submitted a customer care request and I hope that Apple will refund my $45 charge for a service I never received. I would never recommend Match to anyone. Ever.
Meh

Been a member on and off for a few years. The app used to be great. It really was! But now they have switched it to where you can not delete emails and some other notifications you receive from the app. They just sit there piling up. Why on earth would your do that? Many of the emails/contacts you get are fake profiles (scammers) that are painfully/obviously fake and yet their staff don’t catch them when the profiles are approved. Once I identify a fake profile and notify them, they will discontinue their profile. However, the scammers emails sit in your email box and can not be deleted in the app even after they have been deemed to be a fake profile. They should be allowed to be deleted from the app. Take a look at the ratings you are now receiving Match. Things need to change. Also smoking choices need to be moved to one of the top things listed so you do not have to click on every single persons page to see if they are a smoker! 2.?? Average for an app with as many people as you serve? Not doing well for minimum $20-25 a month and sometime quite a bit more depending on the package you buy. Used to love you guys. Also. Most dating apps sites will allow some interaction with each other for non paying members who want to test out the app before buying. Match has the worst options for non paying members. You can hardly do or see anything anyone sends you. Hope things get better soon!
Auto-Renewal Crap
by Fidias412 on 2018/02/04 06:11
I decided to try match because I’ve tried several different free dating appa that have never worked so I thought maybe if I paid for this one this time it’ll be different. I decided to pay for the 1 month payment which was about $20 and as soon as I paid for it I regretted it cause it’s a very annoying app. As soon as you like someone it prompts you to send a very interest intrusive pre-automated message to them which is annoying. Whenever you have get in a chat with someone you literally get emailed whenever they send a message to you even if you have the chat open and are real time talking to them. I decided to wait out a month since I paid for it but nothing happened so I deleted the app a week before my month ended but now I received an email saying I paid for a whole other month?! They sneak the auto renewal payment into the terms of conditons so even tho I paid for a month it renews every month for the one month payment is more expensive than just got a valued bundle deal and theres no refund because thats their policy so now this crappy app just charged me for an extra month I won’t be using this app. So don’t try the app, its not worth it stick to free apps they’re all the same crap and won’t hit you with a renewal fee at the end of your already one time payment.
Happy to take your money and then give AWFUL customer service
by JCF2185 on 2018/05/01 22:08
I was a member on and off (more on that off) for the past 3 years. I ended up meeting my now girlfriend on Match this past November. It’s her birthday this week and *prepare for cheesiness* I wanted to print off our first messages to each other for this little thing I’m putting together for her as a gift. Since you can’t access you can’t even read your old messages if you’re not a current member (which is odd) I emailed support and asked for either a screenshot, transcript, or a brief access window. After 3 emails back and forth, they said there was no way for them to do such a thing. C’mon, it’s 2018....you know - technology. I then called today and the “customer service” rep was clueless and just kept repeating the same scripted response. I asked to speak with their supervisor and they flat out said no. I asked a few more times, more scripted responses, still no supervisor. I met my girlfriend on match so as a site, I can’t totally complain. But treating a former PAYING member of 3 years that way is unacceptable. I sound whiny right now and I’m really not that type of person. This just really got to me off the way they handled it after they were happy to take my money.
Good and Bad
by Nsen74 on 2017/12/13 15:31
On a good note I did meet someone on here and the relationship did last almost 5 years but I lend out that my patience and tolerance for human beings made this relationship last longer than it should have. Most men would have dumped her in a heartbeat. Don't get me wrong there were some good qualities but now I understand all those red flags. And the moral of this story is I have met a lot of women on these sites with issues. Most don't go anywhere. On a bad note (about the site). Too many scammers, lots of women who think they know what they want but don't. Also, met people who don't look like their pics or lie. There are a lot of ok features for the site but they keep taking away more of the features that used to be free and charging for them. Like it's not already too expensive as it is at $42 a month. Come on. Besides that my area is so bad. Out of a couple hundred women with 50 miles, there aren't many who are too attractive. So occasionally I'll browse without buying but in the end I'm deleting the app most of the time. Online dating is so tough. Try going to activity meet ups or joining a club or church, probably will get better results that way.
Don’t Bother With This App
by Distressed Couture on 2019/03/27 23:15
I’ve tried numerous dating sites and had nothing but bad experiences. I thought maybe signing up/purchasing a subscription through Match be different. Assuming that it was going to be for more serious users, I gave it a shot and to my surprise it’s the same EXACT thing I experienced while on free dating sites. 99.9% of users do not respond. You’ll get a bunch of likes from users, some who are not even near your location and when you go and like them back and message them they read your messages but don’t respond. It’s gives people complexes. I’m not sure if these users are shallow or they are looking for the man of their dreams that only exists on tv. I’m not an ugly person but I’m not Brad Pitt. But seriously it makes you feel like people are just judging you for your looks once again. So I’m not sure what the deal is. Is it the users in my area, is it the app creating false accounts or letting free accounts interact with paid users but want allow to message them fully? It’s a tease and very discouraging. What a complete let down. I used it for a couple of days and it’s been such a waste and to top it off I can’t even get a refund. I spent $75 for 3 months. So I’ll have this 3 months and most likely not getting out of this.
To many unused profiles
by EricXXxXxXxX on 2018/04/21 00:00
Here is what i will say about match. I have been on for a few months now and my matches and search result have stayed basically the same. I have sent out maybe 100 messages with zero replies, mostly because they were just never read. Most of the profiles were created, had one photo uploaded and abandoned and now are 80 percent of the search results. I feel i have waisted my time and money on this service because they do nothing to actually help you find someone. This part is STRICTLY OPINION BASED.... i have received likes and a couple messages from a number of people but most of the girls i find to be active are far from what i find attractive and mostly overweight. The quality of the people on here and the quality of the site, ESPECIALLY for the price is NOT WORTH IT!!! I’ve had better results from FREE sites even though most girls on those are just looking to chat and never meet, which again is why i expected much more for a paid site. E-HARMONY at least helps you find a match instead of asking for more money to show your profile to more people on a site you ALREADY PAID FOR!!!
New version HORRIBLE—go back please!
by FlCaliGuy on 2019/02/08 20:56
This new version is total crap. Was a Match subscriber years ago, and I am currently, but I will not renew based on this new version. Sometimes change is done just for the sake of change and actually screws things up… This is definitely one of those times!! BAD move. There is absolutely nothing wrong with leaving well enough alone. The new app is difficult to navigate around, it’s set up poorly compared to the prior version and also versions before that. In the past 24 hours I’ve noticed a reduction of views of my page, and I have a feeling that others are feeling as I am that it’s not at all user-friendly and a hassle. Also on one of my phones I can no longer use the Match app on that phone because I am running an older version of software, and it won’t even allow me to sign in. That aside, this new version is horrible and I am definitely going to look elsewhere. I hope that others express their dissatisfaction with the layout and functionality and maybe match will reconsider returning to the prior set up/version. If they do I will continue to subscribe otherwise I’m done. I give it an F. Please go back to the prior layout, this one is horrible. You ruined a pretty good thing.
Overrated and Needs A Refresh
by LadyLift83 on 2018/10/12 15:54
I wanted to love Match...I really did because it seemed to be the holy grail of dating apps. I’m a full time professional, parent of one in my mid 30s who began dating after a long period of being single. The matches were of no higher quality because the same people are on the free sites due to the mainstream nature of online dating in modern times. The user interface and features are just plain clunky and unnecessary in some regards. It just never felt like it was worth the cost. If you are just getting started with online dating I think it’s worth giving a try at least for a month or two just as a tool in your overall kit but don’t have high expectations. We live in a busy world and I found that some of the newer apps get it right in terms of simplicity. After a few months on Match I became more open minded to Tinder and had so much more success. I matched with good candidates and the app was so intuitive. I’m now in a loving relationship with a high quality man I met on Tinder and we matched within a month of me being on the app. No email no clunky interface no fee required.
Horrible customer service
by misslorielle on 2018/05/15 19:59
Match has the absolute worst customer service I have experienced with a app. They claim you can always speak to a live person what they don’t tell you is that there will be a person from the Philippines with a tenuous grasp of the English language. I signed up for a subscription April 27, 2018 and a week and a half into my membership my account was frozen. I could not login and was prompted to contact their customer service number. When I reached out to match they were unable to resolve the issue, not only that were they were unable to explain why I was ever locked out of my account in the first place. They offered no solutions or a refund of the membership price. They suggested instead I asked iTunes for refund. Apple has great customer service and of course they refunded my money. Now I am left to wonder what caused my account to be locked in the first place? For all I know it was hacked in my information stolen or someone else has control and is using my pictures and information which I’m very uncomfortable with. Match did nothing to ease my worries nor try to resolve the situation. I do not recommend a match as they do not care about the security of their patrons information.

Not impressed, not sure why you have to pay so much?
by Tierra024 on 2018/01/19 00:14
I’ve been a member for 12 days, and I know it’s not a long time to try out the app, I have to say with being on a variety of dating apps in the past 5 years I’ve never been this outraged. I’ve spent $45+ on this app for one month to experience what I could’ve experienced on tinder! POF at least has a variety of questions for you to answer in order to see who may match with you and your interest the best. And bumble has it where the women are in control of who is contacting who. The matches I was paired up with went on zero basis, and had nothing to do with my preferences. I am giving his app two stars because it is a well developed app. And I appreciate the easy to use profile setup and layout of each module. But this is app is not getting any more then two stars because I could’ve had the same experience and outcome on another app that with don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for. Some other apps that function in the same are even free. I’m not exactly sure why I’ve paid $45+ but honestly, I wish there was a way to get my money back. I’m very dissatisfied.
Kinda disappointed and let down
by Jennyft on 2018/09/25 11:02
I joined Match with high hopes that because it’s a paid service there would be higher security and better algorithms to find my 10 out in this world. So I paid for a month to see how it is and I’m kinda disappointed. You can really get nickeled and dimed for all the extras so essentially if you really want to find someone you have to pay more. On top of all that my account was hacked and some person sent messages to a few men with a phone number for them to text in Wisconsin. I don’t even know how many they sent messages to because I only saw a few left in my message box. When I saw this I searched like crazy for a contact number to call but because it was the weekend I could only email. Then their response was that I needed to change my password (which I had already done), they disabled my account for a day, and credit me 7 days. So I’m really not impressed. The only reason I’m staying is because I paid for the month and I’m just hoping that anyone looking for a hookup wouldn’t shell out the membership fee unless they were serious about finding their 10.
Try another site.
by Trayou on 2019/03/21 17:21
This site claims to ‘match’ you with others but there are about eight questions about basics (marital status, age, smoker, drinker) and that is it. So I made my profile but never signed up. I didn’t know if I wanted to but I had a lot of ‘likes’ and messages, which you can only see once you pay. I figured when you pay for the ‘service’ you would be asked more questions and they actually pick people you ‘match’ with. But no. I am accessible for people to see all over the country not just the area I am looking in. And ages of all sort! I am 32 and have 60 year old men messaging me and checking my profile multiple times a day 😡. They must not review profiles because there are men messaging me and ‘matching’ that say they are 30 and look 70. I hate this site and wish I never paid. It is a pay for service that is the same as Tinder for free. Do yourself a favor and look into other dating sites that actually try and match you. Yes I tried requesting a stop of service and refund within 24 hours as I saw my inbox was full of people not even in my area, older- about 1/4 were an 80% ‘match’ or more- aka they didn’t smoke 🙄
Horrible Customer Service
by bgraces on 2018/04/29 18:53
This Company has the worst Customer Service I’ve ever experienced. I never go and write reviews but I am astonished at the lack of care they have for people. All they care about is making $$$. I had no idea they automatically enroll you in Auto Pay. I never choose to have it that way. I was under the impression that I made a payment and would cancel after that was over. I was not happy with the service I felt it was way too expensive and I got the same type of people as any free or cheaper site. I realized I was billed again and canceled that same day. They billed me for three months going forward. Since I canceled and wouldn’t be using any of those three months I called and asked for a refund. They refused. I calmly asked for a manager and was hung up on. I called three times and was hung up on after their “Customer Service” reps recites like robots the same answers. To be hung up on is completely inexcusable just because they don’t want to help resolve an issue. I’m so disappointed with this company. And I did not have in my finances to be billed multiple times. Thanks for making thins so difficult. I wouldn’t recommend this site to anyone.
Match? More like Miserable

I was told this app was great for getting people out there and helping them their perfect match. So I figured I’d try it and to use it, you have to pay. Perfectly fine with that... and to save money in the long run I payed for the more expensive plan and started to enthusiastically mingle with other singles with similar interests and I noticed that every time I’d try to send a message, it auto fills a cheesy pre-made message about an interest that looks not original whatsoever and on top of that, hardly anyone ever replies. Then the app has the nerve to offer me paid boosts on top of a paid service to be more visible, basically it’s a bold faced cash grab. The last thing I will say about it is that the daily matches have NOTHING to do with your preferences of a match, just random people from the list and furthermore, you don’t even get them daily. I went a whole week without any daily matches checking in every day. Overall, I’d say stick to the free apps. At least then they aren’t grabbing money from your wallet AND making you lose hope of finding someone. Match convinced me they didn’t care if I found my someone, but rather that initial payday.
A Sham
by Bdizz3793158 on 2018/01/30 20:52
Match is hands down the worst dating site that exists. I purchased the 6 month plan and at first logged on often and messaged people diligently. I was frustrated that even after paying for the service, my profile was still “at the back of the line” and was constantly prompted to make further purchases so my profile would be seen by more members. After a time, I continued to be disheartened and while I still logged on often, I never received a message because I refused to put more money into an already expensive subscription. Now, my subscription ended very recently and since that time, I have gotten notifications from Match multiple times a day that people have viewed me and that suddenly I have 9 messages - but oho! My subscription has lapsed so I can’t see the profiles or the messages. After six months of nothing, I am in disbelief that the notifications I’ve received are anything but a sham to get me to purchase another subscription. Do yourself a favor, and do not put money into Match. There are plenty of free or low cost online dating sites that are much better at treating their customers like people and not a paycheck.
Needs work
by Franny925 on 2017/10/28 21:12
The "daily matches" have nothing to do with what I am looking for. They are just random people that I clearly specified I was not interested in (divorced, has kids, smokes). The daily matches should actually be matches (at least somewhat tailored to what you're looking for). There should also be a way users can filter the messages they would like to receive. I get too many messages from people I'm not interested in and I'd like to be able to actually see messages from people I like without having to sift through the clutter from men 20-40 years older than me or 1-5 word messages. Or the same creepy guy sending seven messages in a row that forces me to block him. If there was a filter that you could set to "only receive messages from", that would help me find what I'm looking for better. Or at least a delete feature where I can delete at least 10 messages at a time. This would help make the app better for me, I hope you will consider it. Maybe also consider something like OKCupid's question feature so matches will be more accurate.
Worst dating service ever. Disgusting customer service.
by Mashe848 on 2018/03/26 19:24
Scam, scam, scam. I paid for match thinking I'm getting 6 months for 25$ (dumb but I figured it was some sort of special, guessing they were banking for people like me) but after putting my card information in and submitting it I found out that I was getting charge 150$ for a service I never even tried. It was late so I simply sent an email and "canceled the subscription." I didn't hear back from the company and assumed I would be refunded 5 months. After dealing with a bunch of family issues and working 8-5 every day. I had to take time out of my work day to contact Match to see why I'm not refunded the money. I talked to a lady named May, who was very rude the entire time, laughing at me for thinking I was getting a refund. I asked to talk to her supervisor and she laughed again and said she could not do that. How does this service exist when it scams its members? I'm telling everyone I know to stay away from this page and tell them of the horrible customer service. I honestly cannot believe they have employees that laugh at their customers. It's disgusting.

I made my account out of curiosity to get an idea of what kind of people were in the area where I’m new, but I didn’t want to subscribe to anything or spend any money. But I noticed not long after I created the account that I had been signed up for a 6 month membership and my bank card had been charged the $50. So I immediately started trying to remedy this, but found only dead ends. The match app tells me I’m subscribed via iTunes and should adjust my subscription through the iTunes App Store, but iTunes doesn’t have anything on it to adjust any settings that I can find. So basically I was scammed out of $50 for this trash app I didn’t even want. For a short time I started actually using the app (for a couple days) and talking to people, but online dating is not for me and I don’t want this account that I’m being forced to pay for. I’m about to have to go to my bank and request a new bank card number and have to set up methods of blocking these types of payments because I can’t get rid of them otherwise. This trash app isn’t worth $10, much less $50 and I can’t get that money back that they stole.
Not bad... but...
by CaptBradleigh on 2018/10/03 02:02
In all fairness, this is the best dating app to look for women who are serious about relationships. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t run into the usual scammers who only want a free meal or an easy hookup. Match’s selective process helps you narrow down the results of you what you’re looking for, so be specific, and be patient. It’s worth signing up for 3-6 months. However, I’ve had several creepy experiences where I was catfished. This needs to be regulated better. Also, many of the female profiles are blatantly fake, to a “copy and paste” degree, which I find insulting to the intelligent users who sign up here. Many messages are read and not replied to, which also adds to my doubts of the authenticity of the app. Despite these things, it can be extremely difficult to meet single women (with natural chemistry) in real life, so if you’re serious about meeting someone, use Match. I’m 30 years old and had 5 dates in a month.
Don’t use if you value your time and money
by pizzalotus on 2018/01/22 16:12
The app is poorly designed and the website is not much better. Be prepared to spend most time on the app (and site) refreshing pages. Many of the features make no sense and you’ll question the value of being able to see “who’s viewed you” as well as wonder what exactly is the point of ‘likes’ as opposed to swiping ‘yes’ or just sending a message? Most users visible to me weren’t even in my area but instead were located in the adjacent towns usually up to 30-50 minute drives away. No refunds for the poor service they provide at an unreasonable price considering I’ve now had great experiences with free dating apps. This company preys on people’s loneliness and hopes you’ll get to the point of believing the more expensive paid service must somehow be better than all the free or cheap sites that may have frustrated you before. In reality, Match was miles behind the other dating services I tried over the last year and took much more of my money. They should hurry up, take their place among the relics of 1st gen online dating and just go out of business.
Just save your money
by Jaxkillzz on 2018/09/03 05:27
Just like all the other unhappy reviewers. Nothing new here... just move along. Unless you look like Brad Pitt or something and over 6’0 tall and make a lot of money, I would stick with the real world. Average dudes have no chance. I would like to see other paid members honestly so I’m not wasting my time writing them a message just so they can read it. Search algorithm is basically garbage for paid members. After shelling out all that money, you have to pay more money to be pushed to the front of the line where inactive users are king. Overall I would say just avoid all online dating apps. Maybe it was a thing back then, but now it’s just garbage. Wish I could get a refund of any kind. I’ve used the app daily with no response back from the hundreds of messages sent. I’ve tried all kinds of messaging techniques and yeah it’s a no go. I even responded to all the women who liked me that I didn’t find was a good match and even then they never responded back. Move along average joes nothing to see here. Even less attractive girls feel like a 10 on these apps lol.
This app is donkey booty terrible
by Ssx3000 on 2018/01/05 22:47
First, the interface for this app is terrible. They charge a premium to speak with others and non paying customers can barely do anything, even with the recent updates. They may look and might like but that’s about it. Having all the notifications fill your email inbox is bad. Now as far as “matching” their algorithm is bad. They kept matching me with people that weren’t really in my interest. I paid for both the subscription and top spot and it did nothing for me except take money out of my hands. Also, $30 for a professional profile???? Are you kidding me? That’s ridiculous. Now as far as matching with the women, and this is coming from a black man who works hard, it was a mess. I reached out to over 100 women within a month and barely got one response. Some of it has to do with the pricing but a lot has to do with they don’t care for black man as they claim. I feel I was cheated on of this junk service and would like my money back, my account closed and never again will I create a profile for a service like this. Waste of my time.
Just...no.
by KL1313 on 2018/04/23 00:56
Ugh. Every time you update the app, it gets worse!!! It takes an act of god to remove someone who has liked you (yeah, some of us don’t want to save every single person for all eternity) or block someone entirely. The “matches” feature shows me the same people over and over and over...some I’ve already gone out with and tried to hide/block. This is DC and you’re telling me in a 2-year period there’s not more than the same 20-25 guys in my area? And no matter how many times i specify something is a dealbreaker or must have, I’m STILL getting matches with those criteria. And not knowing how recently someone is active is absurd. So you want people to waste time on matches who haven’t been active in months? I mean, Match, I’m pretty tech savvy so it’s not that I just don’t “get” how to use the app...clearly all these other reviews have similar themes. Also, I’m not sure who is searching for me, but I’m 37 and get mainly likes and emails from guys over 50 or under 25 (FYI neither are even remotely close to the age range I’ve specified)...for real...what the heck am I going to do with that?!

I have been a member since 8 years ago but was never a subscriber until now, I have finally paid the 3 months membership just to test it out. I have messaged almost 100 potential others and from the observations, there are about less than 25% who have read the message and among those nearly 100 others, only 4 replied and never heard from after that. In my defense, I always read someone’s profile in its entirety and then write a thoughtful initial message (at least 100 words or more) reflecting what she wrote. Another huge negative and ripped off is that you can not find out whether someone is a subscriber or not until they have read your message, or looked at your profile. Therefore, it is a gamble each time I write to someone. Also, the search is very limited and there are LOTs of profile that are constantly “active” or “active within 12 or 24 hour” whom will never read your message or reply back or look at your profile. I am highly suspecting those are fake profiles. The reason why I strongly think that is because I have extensive experience of using dating apps (not the hook up ones like tinder/bumble) for over 8 years and I have seen more than enough and got ghosted too often. None of the women have time to commit or ready to date. Every single one I met wanted to play around despite what they put on their profile “looking for serious relationship.” I definitely regret paying this, should have gone for eharmony (even though it is much costly).
Don’t do it!!
by Paparob1792 on 2018/09/02 13:19
So many things wrong with this app. I’ll admit to being desperate enough to pay $80 that I didn’t really have for a three month subscription for match so I came here to share what I learned the hard way. The biggest problem I see here is that without a paid membership you cannot read or respond to messages but you will not be able to tell which accounts are paid and which ones aren’t. This will lead to wast countless amounts of time writing dozens of notes that the recipients will not even be able to read much less respond to. It’s a just money grab. And a total wast of your time. Bumble and Tinder both work great for free and are much more streamlined modern feeling apps. Unlike the clunky useless match. Another note, if I were a lady on match I would very strongly recommend you turn off the missed connections. I’m not a serial killer but it seems to me when match is showing me I’ve crossed paths with someone 10 times in the same spot it’s a good bet this is where she works or lives. Do you see where I’m going with this?
Terrible waste of time!
by Um.......no on 2017/10/10 19:11
I tried Match for 6 months which was a total waste of time. Scammers abound. I'd get likes from men, only to not be able to see their profiles. You can pay to go to the front of the line, or pay to make sure your message is received, or pay for any upgrades in general, including seminars. I'd get matched with people that weren't what I put on my profile, or I had to rate the ones I did want to view, instead of actually viewing them. I'd receive messages, go to reply, and the profile would not be available. Not to mention the add ons. Pay to guarantee someone gets your message? Seriously? I got matched with the same profiles over & over, throughout my entire time period. I don't know if their algorithms even work, and the app is just meh. I ended up meeting very few people overall. I was under the mistaken impression that I'd be better off with a dating site that I had to pay for. Guess I was wrong! I gave Match 2 chances, but after this last time, I won’t ever go back. I’ll try other dating sites, instead.
Most pointless dating app ever
by Crowshaul on 2018/04/26 06:55
Seriously, don’t waste your money on this garbage. The app doesn’t seem to have any determinable algorithm. After you answer all the questions and tell them exactly what you’re looking for (and what you’re not looking for), they continue to show you what seems to be 100% of the people on there. Meaning they don’t narrow down your candidates AT ALL based on the criteria you’ve given. So you then have to sift through tons of people who live nowhere near you (oh yeah, the radius that they automatically put on there and that you cannot change is all kinds of effed up), and who you specifically said you didn’t want to see. They also continuously show you THE SAME PEOPLE, over and over again, no matter how many times you swipe left on them. Additionally, if you opt for a payment package, it’s in the fine print that they automatically renew your subscription when it’s up. WITHOUT WARNING. And they make it near impossible to figure out how to cancel your subscription!! Ugh, worst impulse purchase I’ve ever made.
Terrible App
by Disappointed user 16885229 on 2018/02/18 00:34
It rarely loads, the same matches get repeated as I scroll through so you’re seeing the same 20 people. Not all of the profile features are available in the app so you need to use your computer to complete your profile. Pretty upsetting considering you pay to use this site. Had I read the reviews first I would have chosen a different site to spend money on. It’s also frustrating that there aren’t any personality questions like POF and other sites. Your ‘matches’ are based on if the pick the same generic set of hobbies as you (like ‘coffee’ ‘book club’ ‘sports’). While the quality of people is better and there are fewer fake accounts, I expect more personality-based marching from a paid site. Very disappointed. Additionally, I shouldn’t show up on someone’s list if they don’t meet MY must haves. Half of my messages are from people who are the exact opposite. They make enough money off of these subscriptions, this should be better than a free dating site.
Don’t Do It
by ProDogPetter on 2018/01/11 12:07
I earnestly went in hoping for the best. But was really creeped out when several men who I didn’t even match with found me on my private social media accounts. Upon mistakenly forgetting to unsubscribe, I was charged again for a six month plan. I wrote to customer service and also included my concerns about security. I was offered about a $9 refund on a +$60 charge and told that my subscription would expire in a month. It didn’t make sense to me. So I wrote back and received no reply. I received a survey asking about my customer service “experience” and again voiced my concerns. I never heard back. Also finding a phone number to contact the company is pretty hard. Email is pretty much all that’s available. It just really creeped me out that pretty much anyone could contact me even if I didn’t have any interest in them. I would not recommend, as it seemed to me money was their main concern and not customer satisfaction. And the “matches” were constantly repeating and not at all what I was looking for.
Worst APP I have ever used.
by paigenicoled on 2017/09/28 10:46
This review has nothing to do with the website or Match’s general performance as a dating service. It’s about this app. It is the worst app I have ever downloaded. 99% of the time it “can’t reset my password” when I try to log in. I’m not attempting to reset my password when I receive this error message. I haven’t been able to sign in on the app for weeks, and before that I was lucky if I could get in by my 10th attempt. This app is garbage. Match, and any other “traditional” dating sites, would be smart to invest time and funds into creating an easy to use, FUNCTIONING app. The people who use these services are becoming more and more tech savvy, and not having the option of a good phone app is going to drive people away. Sure they might sign up, make their profile, and actively use the site for a few days or even weeks; but if they don’t find a reason to log on every day within that initial excitement, they will move on to competitors who at least offer a decent on-the-go option.
Awful software, awful service
by Kumarohaize on 2018/11/10 04:28
Constantly recommends matches that dont have a thing in common with me. Wont let me filter matches any more based on common interests, so theres no way to get it to show matches remotely interesting to me. Even though im a paying member already, they constantly try to get me to pay for “boosts”, so my profile shows at ths top of other peoples lists when i dont match their criteria either. Awful service that gets worse every year. Stay away! PS The developer response below is complete garbage. The whole point is they dont let me filter or search criteria based on the one category i actually care about (common interests). 20,000 matches listed and the vast majority are useless matches. The whole idea was to finfd someone i have something in common with, which they make completely impossible in the mobile version. Exactly what I expect from Match — a bullshart answer that completely ignores the points I made. I stand by what I said — this app, company and service are a complete ripoff. Stay away!
Miserable Experience So Far
by Johnny92M on 2018/05/29 01:40
I paid for the six month long package because I figured that if I paid for a dating service such as Match that I would have a better chance of finding a genuine person than tinder or bumble. This was not the case. Even after paying for the app, match still advertises things like “boost” in an attempt to take more money from me. In terms of the response rate of other clients, I have received very few responses, in comparison to tinder or bumble where I would almost always get responses. For the monthly amount that I’m paying, I would expect more opportunities and responses. I recently moved, and even after clearing my cookies, I can’t seem to get my daily matches to show my current location. My advice to those considering paying for the app is to stick with tinder, bumble, or any other dating site that isn’t asking you to pay just to use basic features such as messaging. I wish I could build a time machine so I could go back to before I purchased the six month package.
WASTE OF MONEY; they don’t know what “match” means!!!
by Abellaphoenix on 2018/11/06 16:02
I paid for 3 months but after 1 week I’m not impressed. The search functions are limited and updating some things on my profile is not possible. First of all, I am unable to change some of the parameters of the “what I’m looking for section” on my profile such as distance. So right now I’m limited to 5 miles because I made a mistake in choosing that when I signed up. I can change that in the search function, but that doesn’t update my profile. Now it seems I’m stuck with that and I’ve paid for 3 months. It’s been less than a week. I also am constantly getting matched (by Match) with folks who are not a good fit (I’m way outside their age range, height, or body type)!! More than 75% of my matches are not a fit. The search function is one way. In other words, I’m constantly matching with folks but I don’t match what they’re looking for (age, height, body type). That’s frustrating because it requires more work. This is a basic function of a dating app: don’t display matches for whom I’m not a match. You can only upload 4 photos at a time and they have to be approved. One of my photos was not approved then I submitted it again and it was approved. Although they sent a list of the reason for not approving, the application of their rules is not consistent. It also seems that not a lot of folks use this app in my area. Overall, I’m better off on OKCupid or Tinder.
“Filter” has a lot of holes
by Majoylind on 2018/07/20 23:05
Let’s just say I wanted to title this review “If I wanted someone not to listen to me, I’d probably be in a relationship instead of trying online dating.” Despite the somewhat rigorous questionnaire and many fields of interest, lifestyle, and preferences to fill out, very few of my matches actually fit the criteria I was looking for. Personally, my faith is a very important aspect of my life-which I indicated in both my preferences and search filters-but most of my matches blatantly did not share that quality, and in some cases were blatantly opposed to religion. This was not the only criteria that was not taken into account for my matches but definitely the most notable. I’ve been on match on and off over the last few years and have not had any luck with it. It also seemed that I got more interest while I was a free user, but when I would pay the *high price for the subscription, interest dwindled significantly. I won’t be falling for this again. Very unhappy with lack of quality service.
Don’t waste your time OR money.
by Rainonmebi on 2019/01/04 01:00
It makes no sense that living in the most populated city in the USA that there are NO prospects for me as a late 20s female. It seems as though the people who signed up for match when it first came out are the only ones left on here. Most all of the men are late 30s and early 40s pretty much. I feel sick to my stomach thinking about the $75 I spent for 3 months with this app. SO BAD. The functionality is very basic, other apps like OKC seem to care way more that you match with someone or learn something about them and they are 1/3 the price for 3 months. The design of the app also seems ancient. The colors, purple and off-white are an eye sore and do not make me want to stay on the app. There is no way to unsubscribe/opt out of their emails. Most companies put “unsubscribe” in the bottom of the email... nope, not them. For 3 weeks I was bombarded with emails of new likes and messages, turning it off didn’t help, I had to sign up for twitter and message them directly to turn it off. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
Opinion
by unhappy with Match on 2018/07/28 23:54
The App is ok & somewhat user friendly. Just my thought when receiving a message from another member, it would be nice to have the message content sent with the notification to your email so you do not have to close your email and open the app. to read it. As far as Match itself, 3 complaints which Match obviously cannot control. I have been on & off for several years and it is the same women on year after year. Second, & I am told it happens with both sexes, the photos are rarely current and you never know who you are going to meet. Stop the lying and post a current picture. 3 I have met some nice people on here however there have been a few who were still married or living with someone as well the occasional few who will overindulge on alcohol & appetizers when you are paying the tab. My suggestion, stick to a coffee date.
Oh goodness
by Chicago girl 82 on 2018/06/29 05:21
The app is fine but I’ve been on the site since April and the choice of men are just horrible. I’m constantly being emailed by other members that don’t fit my specifications. ALOT of cougar men on this site looking for young women, I’ve been disrespected by men on who I’ve turned down, and have people contacting me from ridiculously far away. I find the cougar men to be extremely gross and I’m beginning to dread every time i see a message in my inbox for this reason. And a message for Match as i see you respond to reviews...i just want you to know that I’ve spoken to many people regarding my experience on match (including men on the site) and felt you should know that it’s starting to have the reputation as tinder. There are a lot of people that have fake profiles and are just looking for a “good time.” I’m sure this isn’t the reputation you want so thought i should pass this on. I have been contacted by members that fit this description.
So far this app is a dud...
by Ldybgk360 on 2018/07/21 14:40
So I’ve been using this app for maybe a month or so now. Truly it’s a complete dud for me, which is very similar to other dating apps except this costs money. Most of the time people don’t respond to messages, and truly if I have removed someone from my searches because I know there wouldn’t be a connection they should not show up in the daily ‘matches’ that are sent to you and they should not be able to show my profile to any person I remove. Truly I’d like to see a setup where what I set as my search parameters is who my profile is shown to. It makes zero sense for my profile to be shown to anyone that doesn’t meet the criteria I have set for my searches. Of course Match continues to show me people that don’t match my settings as well, so maybe their search function doesn’t work. If I wasn’t stuck in this 6 month paying for it crap I would have already deleted my account.
Daily matches don’t update
by Dzhared761 on 2018/05/05 13:12
Since one of the recent updates, I’ve gone onto the app and went through the daily matches. Unfortunately, shortly afterwards they don’t update when you like or dislike them. Even minutes later the set I just went through reappears as though I didn’t go through them at all. And you know that people dislike? Being sent notifications multiple times that someone has “liked” you. It’s stalker-y. Since Match app engineers can’t seem to figure this out and fix it, why bother swiping left or right at all? Better yet, why use this service since the quality seems to be based more in gaining subscribers by showing flashy tools instead of concentrating more on matching people? Though I’m eligible for the Match Guarantee, I’m going to end my subscription as they can’t continue to attract new subscribers in my area. The few rare new members are mobbed immediately and sent into hiding.
Payed dating, but with guilt for not paying more!
by Adventure590 on 2018/01/28 01:25
I get mostly the same matches every day, so it is a much more limited selection than the free apps (I live in Fort Collins, Colorado) which might not necessarily be bad, but... every single time I open the app (despite the fact that I’m paying 25 a month for this nonsense) it wants me to pay more actual physical money to “boost my profile to the top” or something, and the only alternative selection is “No, I’m fine at the back of the line.” Apparently I’m paying monthly to be “at the back of the line.” Awesome. Unfortunately I’m on the three month plan, but when it ends I will be so happy to delete this app from my phone and never download it again. Much better luck with tinder and OK Cupid. Update - one month in literally every single one of my daily “matches” has no picture and has not been on match in a month. This accompanied by daily cheerful reminders that I’m at the back of the line. Thanks, Match. Again, just so so glad you have my money.
Used to be a good app
by keithshepherdfineart on 2018/03/21 00:43
This is one of about 4 dating apps I have. I was going to try it again, and see if it’s worth paying for. It used to be like a lot of them and if you message someone, they can read your message and you can interact. The likes and winks were usually invisible until you pay, and that was fine. NOW, you can’t see ANYTHING. You can see how many people like your profile, and you can probably see if someone messages you, but you can’t read messages or send at all. So what’s the point? At least give us a reason to join besides the possibility that the person that “liked” you has paid as well, AND they’ll see any message you’re allowed to send them (now that you’re paying) You go to all the trouble to set up a thought provoking profile, to find out you can’t do anything but watch the likes go up and never meet them, which are probably fake profiles anyway, from what I’ve read on other reviews. Oh well, back to POF, and ok Cupid, I guess
Absolute trash
by Garden state guy on 2019/02/04 00:32
I tried this app etc. on and off over several years and with no success or positive results. I would write to women and never hear back. Some will say it is a numbers game and that you are lucky to hear back from one out of every ten. I thought that is why we’re on this site because we want to meet someone. Secondly the app doesn’t look at your preferences at all and I’d get matched with women who are not even close to what I’m looking for. Thirdly from what I can see the women on here only want tall athletic good looking guys who make six figure salaries. If the profiles are real then maybe that’s why they’re in their thirties and still single. Or they are fake profiles. Lastly once I canceled my membership I would get messages stating that my profile has been viewed by more women than ever viewed it while I paid, and of course I can’t see who looked unless I resubscribe. Maybe this app/site was worth it once but not any more. Complete waste of time and money.
It’s a trap!
by 748n8 on 2018/04/01 00:36
Although I had several successful dates and an overall decent experience, I eventually met someone (offline, in-person like nature intended) so I cancelled my subscription. Prior to canceling, I had not been active online, so I wasn’t receiving many likes, messages, etc. Literally the day after canceling (removed my pics, changed my summary to “subscription cancelled, no longer active on Match”, AND changed my profile to “hidden”) I started receiving a litany of messages from beautiful women. Today I received 10 messages from women w gorgeous profile pics. Of course I cannot read them bc my membership has been cancelled. Coincidence? I think not. I think scam. I even changed my communication preferences to no longer send me email notifications and I’m still getting emails. So frustrating. If you’ve read all the reviews/complaints about fake profiles, it’s 100% true. Match has many shady business practices but this is infuriating. Think twice before joining.
Misleading
by Beej1254 on 2018/08/12 14:24
I subscribed to match for one month. During my time I had a bit of luck and even went on a few dates. Ultimately though, the experience with match was poor. The service seems very misleading, and I question how many profiles are of real, active users. I went 2 weeks out of my month subscription with zero notifications or replies. I didn’t auto renew my subscription, and literally the DAY my subscription expired I received 10 new notifications stating that someone liked or viewed my profile. Regardless I didn’t renew until almost a month later. Excited to see the new matches or potential matches, I signed in. To my displeasure the NEW notifications I received were actually notifications for profile views and likes I had ALREADY GOTTEN during my first initial subscription. Match seemingly deliberately mislead me into thinking my new notifications were from new interactions when they were actually from things I’ve seen before. WATCH OUT.
Too many inactive users
by abababanab on 2018/11/09 16:26
Usually 70+ percent of the suggested matches were not even active members anymore. I dated several people on this site and every single one of them misrepresented themselves. You have to jump to the gauntlet of false information, altered pictures and deceiving posts. I’m sure it’s also like that on a lot of other dating sites. I have had tons of contact by likes and messages since I’ve been around. I had a several who immediately wanted my home phone number and email address. I don’t give my phone number out until I know somebody, nobody else should do it either! I immediately started getting spam from that person for pornographic materials. So you have to be very cautious, there are a lot of spammers out there and unfortunately most of the sites cannot control that unless complaints are made..
Don’t sign up!!
by JR123567890 on 2018/06/30 17:56
It is a scam! The customer service is absolutely horrible. They hook you with a deal and if you don’t go into your account and turn off renewal they automatically sign you up for another 6 months at $100. It’s not worth it when you hardly use the app to begin with. I had a friend that told me his account was adjusted and I called and asked for the same and all because I talked to one guy just a couple of sentences back and forth and just like a few days after the renewal date, they said they could not reimburse me. I asked to speak to a manager and they WOULD NOT ALLOW ME to speak to anyone else and I talked to 3 different representatives. When the one representative finally told me he couldn’t do the reimbursement because me talking to that guy. He could see the WHOLE conversation!! Super creepy!! They are all perfectly trained scam artists and creeps! What kind of person does that job?!! Yuck! Don’t go with them, use a free app. Bumble works just fine for me.
Zero stars if possible
by d. on 2017/11/22 12:43
The “matches” this site makes for me are guys who don’t fit my “must haves” or I don’t fit theirs. And almost all of the messages I receive are from men who don’t meet my “deal breakers”- the emails are filtered on the website but not the app. And many emails I receive are men accusing me of being paid to be on the site or a fake profile or upset that I am not interested- so many bitter men, and i can’t help but think it’s because the site has lead them to believe this, or doesn’t monitor the type of people who sign up. You don’t have this issue of harassing messages on other sides bc you can only message people when you mutually like each other. Also, I bought Top Spot and it says there are tens of thousands online right now, so I hit Top Spot, and it will say 250 men are seeing your profile, but it just shows me the same 5-10 profiles, multiple times. So basically, the same 10 guys are viewing my profile 10-20x...?!? Garbage!

I hate it

No one is communicating there
by rutine626854 on 2019/04/18 15:04
It’s complete waste of time, seems like people just wasting their time on this app and don’t talk to each other
Bad UI

Ugh!

It seems like a scam to me.

by Jahixnahxiwvysjwjizjw on 2019/04/12 19:04
I paid and few hours later it signed me out.
3 month subscription = sewage money!

by LandscapeSW on 2019/04/11 15:30
Offers nothing that OKC doesn’t offer for free, much smaller pool of people.

Not a good match...
by lals#1 on 2019/04/07 17:27
This app is SO bad. It pays no mind to the restrictions that one lists when initially establishing a profile. I’m getting “likes” from people MUCH older, younger, and VERY far beyond my distance limitations. Maddening
Thumbs down

So tired of these apps that are scams. Yo fill out all the information then before you can actually do anything or have any real access you have to be a premium member

WASTE OF MONEY
by fit&fun49 on 2019/04/06 01:24
You see the same profiles all the time, half of them are fake, and the other half aren’t anything close to what you’re looking for. Save your time and money and get on a different site
Not a great experience really.
by Wilderness Hunter on 2019/04/05 15:45
I don’t really to expect to meet anyone on match at this point.
It’s the worst dating app, period!
by reviewexpert123 on 2019/04/05 06:07
I downloaded this dating app hoping for a better experience but I got the worst I could imagine! It’s basically a trailer for a dating app. You have to pay to do very basic things other dating apps provide for free. The only thing you could do on this app is create a profile and swipe on others profile, that’s it! You can’t text them, you can’t see their text, you can’t see who liked you. Basically, other than liking the person you like, there’s no way of contacting them. You’re probably thinking, what if I leave my personal info, like a Snapchat or instagram handle in my bio and even though the person who liked me can’t contact me on the app, they could just reach me using that? Well, I’ve got some bad news! According to Match’s guidelines, you can’t leave ANY personal info in your bio. Not even your last name! So in general, if you’re not willing to spend your money on this dating app like me, I suggest you don’t download it in the first place! They should’ve not made it free to download in the first place to be honest. The only positive thing I can say about it is that, it’s not a hassle to delete your profile like it is on some other dating apps.
Irritating!

by Rssbecka on 2019/04/05 00:26
Seems like some dude’s don’t even put the effort into their pictures.

I signed up on Match.com last Sunday and purchased a one month subscription. Barely 2 hours later I couldn’t log in my account. I tried again after an hour and it said my account has been blocked by violation of terms. I’ve tried to get a refund but the customer service told me they can’t refund because I subscribed with a gift card or whatsoever. Total rip off

by Shmave on 2019/04/02 20:10
Yesterday the app changed to monetize “likes” and “viewed me” functions.

Don’t do it!
by Shallow30 on 2019/04/02 00:14
I have been a member of Match for about 2 months now.

Ever.
Meh
by midnightmoker on 2017/10/10 16:45
Been a member on and off for a few years.

Match? More like Miserable
by Emisio_Tursero on 2018/03/31 04:23
I was told this app was great for getting people out there and helping them their perfect match.
Scam
by Lhhhiggskhjdefhx on 2018/02/27 18:54
I made my account out of curiosity to get an idea of what kind of people were in the area where I’m new, but I didn’t want to subscribe to anything or spend any money.
Not recommended
by MaliciousMark on 2018/05/06 18:28
I have been a member since 8 years ago but was never a subscriber until now, I have finally paid the 3 months membership just to test it out.

Oh goodness

Garbage!
