My drive was super rude and practically threw the food at me. When I asked about the drink he said there was none and it wasn’t charged. Before I could even show him my order the guy was gone. I was left without a drink that I did pay for.

Honestly, GrubHub MUST be paying people to write their reviews for them. This is an AWFUL, unprofessional, delivery service. Seriously, I’m never ordering from here again. My roommate and I ordered food at 8:55pm. The time was delayed all the way to 10:55pm. We called grub-hub and they refunded our money and gave us a gift card but said that our order would STILL get to us. It never did, they canceled our order with no notification. We pick a similar dinner from a different restaurant at around 11:00pm, this has now been delayed until 12:45. We called grub-hub and they couldn’t even get in touch with their driver. The driver “had car issues” so our time was delayed until 1:33am and is now delayed until 1:45am. Grub-Hub is a terrible service and I really believe this 4.8 stars are paid reviews because there’s just no way people think grub-hub is a good delivery service. Grub-hub is horrible. I will never be ordering from them again.

Order was supposed to be 30-40 minutes and after 75 minutes I tried to reach out for support. I used the chat app and had no response. I waited for a call for 15 minutes and the guy ended up hanging up on me. They later sent me a text saying that I would receive a $10 credit for my $35 order and that my order would arrive in 75 minutes. Totally unacceptable.

They took my money out my account, lied and said they delivered my food then told me I had to wait 3-5 days to get a refund. Only offered me 10 dollars. I have never been scammed from grubhub but I will not ever order from them again. When your dirty your business will not last.

I live in an affluent suburb of Seattle. This is the sweet spot for these kinds of companies. DoorDash gives me close to a hundred restaurants to choose from, way more if I’m willing to pay more for the delivery. Grubhub gives me exactly 2. One is Pappa Johns Pizza (wow, pizza delivery how novel). The other a really bad Indian restaurant. Sell your stock. This one”s going to zero.

GrubHub seemed like a neat idea. I downloaded the app, placed and order, and saw that my card was immediately charged. About 10 minutes later, I receive a notification that my order was cancelled, no explanation, and was told to refer to my email for details. NO explanation in email either, expect to elaborate on when I may expect my full refund (in 3-5 business days)! Are you kidding me?! I received a follow-up email that I was getting a $5 off my next order comp. Missing my $40 for a couple days is no big deal, but I imagine for some it may be. For my situation, my spouse has the car at work, I was trying to order some dinner for myself and my kid, and didn’t want pizza, because we haven’t done grocery shopping and there’s no place close enough and safe enough to walk to in the dark for food. So now I don’t trust the app/service enough to order through them again and we’re stuck with pizza it looks like.

Unreliable drivers. The first 3 orders were delivered outside of the estimated time and food was cold at least once, then tonight I ordered and an hour later got a text saying my order was cancelled. Then got a call from Grubhub saying that the subway was closed when the driver got there. So, the driver was late getting there and that resulted in no food for us. Too late to get anything else. Thanks, won’t be relying on this service ever again.

First time GrubHub user. Ordered my food at 8:25 pm after having to call customer service twice in order to use a $15 off coupon on my first order. Even though I created an account for the first time (tonight) and ordered for the first time (tonight), the coupon would not work. So, after ordering my food GH “refunded” me $15. It’s now past 10pm, and after multiple calls to customer service and a random text from a delivery driver I cannot track via the app, I still have not received my food over an hour and a half after placing my order. My order was supposed to have been delivered at 9:10-9:15. Cannot imagine why anyone would want to use these services. I can definitively say that I never will again, and I’ll be sure to dissuade others from doing so as well. 0/5 stars.

I don’t usually do this but this by far the worst delivery experience and customer service I’ve ever had anywhere. The driver took over an hour to get to my apartment complex then couldn’t find my building. He spoke no English and had to give his phone to someone who lived in my neighborhood. Customer service also very rude. I called them a 2nd time for them to direct him to my door, after placing me on hold they called me back and told me my order was cancelled because I didn’t put my address when I ordered which is impossible to do. He put the blame on me with smart remarks such as “Your the one who put in the order.” then proceeded to hang up on me as i was contesting his claims. Stay far away from this app and these people. Stick with Uber eats or door dash. Way more reliable.

Yeah, I won’t be using Grubhub again. First, the website and app kept preventing me from adding items to the cart. After 10 minutes, Placed an order at 6PM for an 8:30 delivery. Grubhub waited until 8:15PM and texted me telling me that my order was cancelled and never received by the restaurant. I guess in 2019, it’s still too much to ask for to order my own food and have it delivered to my door. I’ll be here waiting when you all get it figured out, Grubhub.

GRUBHUB has been a go to app at this point. My orders come in the way it should and I respect the hustle of the drivers getting my order faster than the scheduled time. Overall, don’t hesitate to give this app a try.

I ordered from Grubhub before I came home. The estimated delivery time was 8:45 - 9:00. So I get home at 8:30 thinking I have time to spare. Nope seems they were here at 8:25. I missed it. I went to the help section but when it said chat was connected and I said what I wanted I could not get a response. Terrible service. I would not recommend this service.

So I took a leap of faith today, and decided, against all instinct, to put my nutritional concerns into the hands of a corporate giants stooge driver, who does not care whether or not I or my family starve. After placing a very generous order, and even including a two dollar tip, I was informed that I would be receiving my order of food, but what I got instead was an order of lies. As the estimated time of arrival slowly creeped higher and higher, my anger and anxiety rose, as well as, most importantly, my hunger. With mere minutes to spare before needing to leave for work, and force myself to through several torturous hours of malnourished labor, I knew something had to be done. I held my breath, and canceled this tremendous order, knowing the risk behind not being able to feed my family. However, after I canceled I was then informed that it would take three to five business days before my finances were returned to the un-GrubHubbed status, that being back in my account. I’ve never regretted a thing in my life, not my drunken plane ticket purchase to Italy, nor the four children I’ve had with five different women. But this... this may be the first. Well done. Wack. My first time using in a while. My complex can be pretty confusing and driver went to wrong door. Understandable, especially since my number on file wasn’t correct. At this point, I just wanted my order to be brought back or placed again. After 2 attempts, ended up getting a code that I could only use after spending an extra $8. The customer service is what leaves a bad note for me. Not the drivers inability to find my door. It happens.

This app hangs so bad on iPhone X iOS 12.1.4 that I can’t even swipe up to go home. Tapping the side button doesn’t lock the screen. You can’t use your phone AT ALL until the app stops hanging.

I always have problems with my orders. Customer service just sends me a $5 off coupon for my next order. I shouldn’t have to pay after my food takes an hour to get to me. A restaurant was closed and it still allowed me to order from them, you guys cancelled my order and I haven’t received my refund because it “takes 5 days”. So you’re telling me now I have to spend MORE money and wait around to see if you guys ACTUALLY pay me back? As if I haven’t already waited around enough before my order was cancelled. I lost my appetite an hour ago. Thanks GrubHub

55 min estimated delivery time (ordered 7:07pm) turned into over 2 hours (received order at 9:21pm). Not able to contact driver at all. Called restaurant after an hour and they said my food was sitting there just waiting for driver to pickup. After driver pickup they continued to go the opposite way doing pickups completely out of the way (took an additional 30-40 min after initial pickup). No transparency at all with GrubHub. Went to the “help” portion of app just to have 221 other people in front of me to ask Grubhub questions about my order. Save time and use DoorDash. Just ordered from them and a 48 min delivery was at my door and food was hot in about 37 min.

My first time using this app I ordered a flan and a drink , and my drink was in the bag and it spilled couldn’t even eat my food. I ordered a second time to give it a chance and my food was still all over the place. 😡 For this I’m never using this app again. Horrible customer service! Tried getting in contact with the driver and couldn’t even do that , no one did anything for me I even tried speaking with a representative from grub hub and still couldn’t resolve the issue.

This is a joke. I’m trying to get signed up as a driver but it blocks you out. Then it tells you to email their specialist which I did. It comes back that this is an invalid email. On my app it only wants to know where I want my food delivered. I DONT WANT FOOD DELIVERED. I wish I didn’t have to give them a star. They deserve a NEGATIVE 5 star. They probably don’t know what that means

So I ordered food at 11:18 pm from Taco Bell with a total of $12.79. The order at first is expected to be delivered around 11:45, driver delays it first by 20mins then again by another 20mins just to then after those 40mins to cancel my order! I am now out $12.79 and have to wait 5 “bank” business days. I asked the help number for any kind of compensation for my inconvenience of now being short that money. Ummmm no, this is extremely stupid and I uninstalled the app, extremely disappointed.☹️

For Valentine’s Day my wife and I wanted to spend a nice relaxing night in so we ordered from grub hub. It was from Bjs restaurant first the site gave a delivery window, after the window had passed you 10 minutes. we called the restaurant and and verified our order was ready 20 min prior. They said grub hub had messed up over 12 orders throughout the day. Then the site changed and now showed a delivery window 1 hour passed the original time .So we called grub hub customer service for over 20 minutes they had us on hold only to find out they blamed the restaurant and would not refund our order. So we asked to speak with a manager then being on hold for 30 min more they disconnected the line and hung up. I will never order from grub hub again and I encourage those who care about customer service to do the same.

Ordered once and the order was delivered in a decent time frame. Ordered today at 6:38pm and received two delivery delayed notifications (final eta 8:55pm), so I called the restaurant and I was told the food had been ready for pickup since 7:00pm. I asked if the food was cold, he said yes. I called and canceled my order, after waiting 17 minutes on hold. My order was canceled, but the funds are still on hold.

Ordered a meal and the ap said the restaurant hadn’t even begun preparing the food after an hour. So called Grub Hub and after waiting on hold for over 10 minutes a lady told me that the restaurant closed. Problem: it was 8 o’clock and the restaurant closes at midnight so I just chose to punt at this point since this person was clueless and I agreed to a refund. She then told me to hold for a confirmation and promptly hung up on me. I placed my own to go order online and had food to my door within an hour.

Grub hub makes sure you can’t contact them. Estimate was sooo off multiple times. One order was 2.5 hours. Then you can’t reach their customer service to cancel or inquire. So you’re just left with no food and an active order that you have no idea when/if it’ll show. Gave it quite a few chances and it’s just not a reliable service. Definitely not a customer centric service.

I usually use their competitors, but occasionally I'll use grubhub. They are by far the worst. They assign multiple orders to the same driver, so it's always late and it's always cold. I just got an order 50 minutes after it was originally supposed to be here. It wasn't the drivers fault at all. He got assigned two orders in opposite directions and didn't get them assigned until they were already late. Do yourself a favor and use door dash or Uber eats. Both are much better.

I don’t know if it is just my area but I have used this app a hand full of time and several times the wait is way longer than quoted. I have received cold food twice. And today I placed an order at 5:26 it said the arrival time should be around 6:00 I called customer service at 6:36 to cancel my order. I’m deleting that app just a waste of time. And now I have a 3 year old upset she couldn’t get what she wanted.

Ordered food that said would take 45-50 minutes. After an hour and a half the app still said the restaurant was making the food. Called restaurant which reported food is ready and no one has come to pick it up. Called Grubhub customer service and waited on hold for 20 mins to talk to someone who just tried to make excuses and acted like she couldn’t find our order. She found the order right as it was picked up. She then asked us to call them back when the food got there. There was no way we were gonna wait on hold for another 20 mins just to tell them our food was cold! It was obvious the food would not be fresh after sitting there for almost an hour. The representative then agreed to call us back after a few minutes to check. Ended up with cold, hard, dried out food and cold soggy nachos at 8pm. Food was ordered at 5:47pm. This app has problems and whoever is responsible for ensuring a driver is at the restaurant when food is ready failed miserably. Will not be using this service again.

The food never arrived. I called the restaurant to cancel the order and they said they can’t had to go through Grubhub. I went for their in app support and was given a number 405 people ahead of me needing help. Deleting this app once I’m done with this order’s mess.

Placed a order for some B-Dubs and took about a hour for delivery. After the order was placed I received a notification that it was delivered but food never made it to my house. Called there “all star” low budget foreign 3rd party service. The gentleman insisted on calling the driver and I was advised that they went to the wrong location and they will be there within 10mins. Half hour goes by and I call back and the female I spoke with called the driver again and couldn’t explain or tell me what happened with the food and just refunded me instead. Why is it that I have to call and waste hours of my time to fix an error on Grubhubs end. For being a web service platform your solutions to issues are not efficient. Sub contracting a call center to fix your problems sounds like Grubhub is too good to provide quality customer service. I hope I don’t get a respond from Grubhub on this because they are not solution driven enough to change my mind on such a simple manner.

I ordered Taco Bell and asked for the chips and nacho cheese instead of the cinnamon twists that usually come in the box and I still got the cinnamon twists.

I ordered from Grubhub while studying for an exam. The food took over an hour to be “delivered” but the food never showed up. Then I contacted customer service which took a long time to respond and than even longer to figure out that my food had been “missed.” Whatever that means. I did eventually get offered a refund but not before spending a couple of hours. Just use another delivery service instead.

This is a great app but it needs way more restaurants to choose from. And different varieties not just mostly fast food. Otherwise it’s a great and convenient service. I especially like that it allows Apple Pay in making payments.

Order a scheduled delivery and only received an update when I called the restaurant and they said it had been ready for an hour but no delivery driver for Grubhub showed up. When I called customer service they couldn’t give me an estimate for when I would get the food. Completely ruined my plans and ended up having to cancel the order and do everything myself.

The worst delivery service EVER. Waited just shy of two hours to get my food. Everything was cold and not edible. Something was floating in my drink and there was stuff on the lid. Would not trust the drivers. Never again!!!!!

We order food via grub hub and the order delivery was moved back from 7:15 pm to 7:45 pm. I called the restaurant and they told me the food was ready and waiting. So, I called Grubhub, I was told the their system never assigned a driver to our order. They assigned a driver and it is now 8:22pm and no food . Worst service ever !!!

I put an order through grubhub that had 4 items on it,but when it was delivered I had only gotten 3 items and the grubhub order had charged me for the original 4 items. I had to call the restaurant to get a refund for that 1 item, and this has happened before whenever I place an order to Red Robin through grubhub.

I have never ordered from Grubhub, so I downloaded the app to take advantage of a promo code. It was for $15 min new accounts. I had a new account and it did not work. Just to test it out, I used another email address not previously linked to GH and of course THAT didn’t work either. They try to get you in by offering deals, but rescind those offers once you’re ready to pay.

I have ordered from grub hub many times, all different days and times during the week and it has NEVER been on time. Not only is it consistently late with no update to the estimated arrival time, but the food is often cold, shuffled around, or completely ruined by the time it arrives. I avoid using grub hub whenever possible.

Today I ordered from Grubhub for my second time. The first time was a few months ago from a steves crazy subs and everything was great! My order was completely right even with it being complicated and the driver seemed nice. This time we ordered from subway and I honestly wanted to leave the review on the subway shop in the app, but it said the review was “skipped” which I never skipped it... well we got our food pretty quick so the service was good, but I found a hair inside my sandwich 🤢 which has never happened before to me at any subway! The wrappers on the sandwiches and the napkins in the bag were all damp and I thought it could have been from grease but my sandwich wasn’t greasy enough for it to get all over both sandwiches and the napkins. I think it was water or something because I don’t think it was grease. I also asked for lots of olives on my sandwich because it’s the only thing I get besides the meat and I got hardly any olives on the sandwich. We also asked that the driver call us when they arrive because we have dogs that bark at everything and will try to get outside if somebody’s here and they knocked; which isn’t that big of a deal but it showed that they didn’t read ANY of my notes that I added. I guess so far Grubhub is hit or miss depending on where you’re getting food from. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from that subway again and I wish I could have left them a review in the app.

It’s just sad because the service is an amazing idea, allowing any restaurant to deliver for a small extra fee, it’s something I was so excited to try it out when it was available in my city and I could not wait to try it out. I had picked a delicious burger place near my house and I chose a burger with fries, an appetizer and a dessert. The app is so easy to use and it was so easy to put my payment info and order the food and went very smoothly. 30 minutes went by and I was wondering where the food was, it was a Tuesday so they could not possibly be that busy! I called the restaurant at 35 minutes in and they said the food had been picked up 15 minutes ago... so 15 more minutes go by and I get a phone call from the automated grub hub number and it connected me to the driver, which I think is a great idea to make things easier. I step outside to get my food which took over an hour and I get the boxes of food from him, creepy driver, not Grubhub’s fault just an odd guy. I go inside open the box for the burger and it is very cold and it was so obvious that the fries had been picked at. The dessert was missing and the appetizer also looked like it had been picked at as well. I think this service would excel if they were more careful with the drivers they chose and have more time penalties for those drivers. Overall a great service if you get the right driver.

I have used gh at least 20 times. The app is great, it always works. though it seems inconsistent from restaurant to restaurant in its menu application and usage -sometimes confusing what comes with an item. The service from grub hub employees hasn’t been bad, they tell me when there’s a problem and make it right, so I think the company seems to care (more than I can say for other food delivery services I’ve used which I won’t name here, but it starts with a U!) So I’m loyal to gh in my restaurant delivery patronage anymore. Now you just have to expect though, the restaurants sometimes have issues and cancel your order & your experience depends in large part upon the relationship between that restaurant and gh. Another factor- if you get a driver who treats your food and your time with respect, which isn’t usually a problem. The drivers usually call from the driveway, I don’t know why, most pizza places ring the bell. Sometimes the drivers forget food or spill it. hey this is going to happen if you order from gh 20 or more times. You take your chances, because you don’t want to cook so much, and you don’t want to go out into the public either. Thanks for being there most of the time gh when I’m not cookin’. And shout out to mr. gyro because he is consistently good & fast, never cancels.☮️

So today I ordered Taco Bell through Grub Hub (obviously). It was like my fourth or fifth time doing so, all of the other times were all good. But today I ordered it at 1:02pm and it usually takes less than 30 minutes for them to be at my house with my food. I noticed the time for my ETA was getting later and later, so I call and tell them what’s going on. I was super nice because accidents happen and I’m an understanding person. They tracked the driver and said I should get a call from them in the next ten minutes. Ok. I get text ten minutes later saying my food should be there around 2:17pm. Ok great. 2:30pm...still not here. I got annoyed and called again to cancel my order. All was fine, she didn’t seem very sorry but whatever. I’m probably not going to order again, just because getting my food isn’t guaranteed. The only bad part about all of this, is that I had a hungry two year old waiting for his food that never came. Of course I gave him snacks to keep him happy until his actual food came, but he needed a real meal. I couldn’t drive anywhere to get food because my baby was sleeping. Also I’m breastfeeding, so when you don’t eat for a while it messes with your milk supply. Once my baby woke up we went to DQ. Because we had a late lunch, that meant no nap, and because no nap, I couldn’t get my shower for today. So thank you grub hub for making me hungry and stinky. That is all. (I never write reviews, I honestly just want to know how this even happened.)
Overpriced and ridiculous

I ordered food from this app/service and noticed first that they charge an additional fee they don’t mention, which should’ve been my first red flag. But with a coupon on your first order, fine. It was $10 off, and yet I still paid a several dollars over my order subtotal(basically the tip). So it literally just covered the fees, which I was choosing a very close restaurant so it was the smallest delivery fee they charge. My order arrived nearly 20 minutes late and was missing THREE items. There’s not way to log a quick problem with your order like with other similar services so I had to contact their support. Who took at least 5 minutes to just “look up my order details” before even asking what I was missing. When I tell them my missing items they just say, “you’re all set! You’ll get an email for your refund. Is there anything else I can assist with?” Without telling me what the refund is or anything. The email comes and I see they only refunded me part of what was missing, for the the third item. When I asked they said it was “a free part of the order”. It wasn’t. It was part of my combo. They start to list off the prices of my combo items individually and this happened to be the “free” item in it, which is so ridiculous. It was food that was supposed to come as part of my meal, so I should’ve had something come off of the price of the combo. Needless to say, I will never use this app/service again.

Will never ever try to order through here again. Customer service is awful and they don’t know what the hell they are doing, everyone is extremely rude and plain stupid. We had a snow storm hit and saw that one of our favorite restaurants was still available for delivery through Grubhub. Yeah first mistake- waited 2 hours and decided to try to call Grubhub and let them know maybe the restaurant is closed but they assured me no no the delivery driver is 4 minutes away. Ok cool, again I knew it was a snow storm and would take longer. Another 45 minutes pass so I call back and now...NOW they are saying oh the restaurant isn’t answering the phone or email so I’m canceling your order. Sure should have told me that the first time. Oh wait it gets better....so it was my first time using Grubhub so I got the $12 off. BUT I can’t use that coupon again because technically I used it yesterday and the best they can do is give me $7 off one order and then $5 off a whole different time. I DIDN’T GET TO USE THE $12 OFF THE FIRST TIME. Oh but then I called again and the lady said I never even used a coupon but my bank still reflects the total with coupon even though I won’t get that back for 5 days. So yeah never again.

The interface of this app is so painstakingly dumb. First of all, I live in a decent sized town, it’s not a major city but there’s a ton of restaurant options. With this grubhub app, those restaurants don’t even pop up when you search by category- you have to type in the restaurant name to get it to come up. I wonder if that’s some kind of under-the-table promotional idea Grubhub has with some restaurants. It’s moronic. This brings me to my next point of restaurants not showing up when they’re not open. I could care less if a restaurant was open to browse the menu!! For me, the app is rendered useless before 8AM, I cant do anything but look at the places I’ve ordered from in the past. The main screen literally just tells you to come back later. If this app is designed to help restaurants gain business and to link customers to places they may have never known existed, Grubhub is doing a pretty pisspoor job. I mean, at least have a live tracking option. On numerous occasions, drivers have had difficulty finding my place of work. Provide a better GPS interface and hirer smarter drivers who actually read the delivery instructions. Sidenote; even the fact that their ‘Leave Feedback’ option doesn’t bring you to the app store but asks you a survey-like question in which you have to choose from 3 options, goes to show how archaic their customer service is.

My new go - to food delivery app. More affordable with excellent customer service. I have ordered now going on 11 times from them, there was an issue with 4 out of 10 times and nearly every time they contacted me to let me know and usually 3/4 compensated me for my time with coupons and discounts. I had an issue tonight where I waited an hour and 15 mins for Taco Bell. I called them to let them know, they apologized and gave me a 5$ credit towards my next meal, told me where the driver was ( the driver was on time!) and then they called me 10 mins after to make sure I’d gotten my food then told me to have a great night. It’s 10pm here in California but I’m happy that I’ve got food and extra money towards something else & felt respected, lol. Door dash, postmates and uber eats usually just say ‘oops our bad, nothing we can do’ after 2hrs of waiting; unless you really push them and sometimes they still don’t budge. Anyways I’m high eating Taco Bell at 10:30 at night and thought the world needed to know that grubhub is great. 10/10 would recommend. Their taxes and delivery fees also don’t seem as high as the other apps and they don’t up-charge much either, you usually pay close to what you expected.

Worst customer service ever. The delivery ETA for my order kept changing every time I refreshed the page. When it got to an ETA of 45 min after the original ETA I called to find out what was going on. Customer service tried pinning it on the restaurant so I sat on hold while the rep called the restaurant. 14 min later she finally admitted that my food was in fact ready but they didn't have any drivers to pickup my food and had no idea how long it would be until they found someone. She told me I could cancel my order or wait. I asked if I could go pick it up myself and be refunded for the delivery charge and tip that I paid. She said she was taking care of that while we were on the phone and confirmed it was done before I hung up. I drove to the restaurant to pickup my food and as I am pulling in the parking lot, I get a text that my food had been picked up and was on its way to me. Called customer service back to confirm and told him about my previous conversation and he blamed it on a bunch of new employees. He offered me a discount on my next order and I told him to apply the discount to this order bc I won't be using them again. And asked again that they remove the delivery charge and tip bc the previous person failed to do so. Received an email receipt and was still charged the $9 tip despite me driving to pickup my own food and have it already be picked up. Finally after my 3rd attempt the charges were removed.

I use this app maybe a couple times a month at most when I don’t feel like cooking. The app itself is easy to use but the fulfillment of orders leaves much to be desired. Most of the time it takes much longer than is advertised (e.g. delivery time 45-55min has sometimes taken 90min), food has arrived barely warm despite coming from a few blocks away, drivers don’t know how to read maps (our condo complex is a little confusing but there are maps & they don’t bother looking - I’ve been called & expected to walk out to the front of my complex which I cannot do because I have a small toddler & probably ordered food vector was inconvenient to go out in the first place, & several drivers were rude or unprofessional. That being said, there have been a couple great driver & they have comped delivery fees or given ‘free next delivery’ codes when I’ve contacted the company but I don’t appreciate having to contact them with issues the majority of the times I’ve used the service. Hopefully hey can get it together & maybe take tips from Uber eats to have ratings for drivers separate from just rating the food. I still come back because of the restaurant selection in my area but always keep my fingers crossed that it will arrive in a reasonable time frame & be relatively hot still 😑

I’ve used the app several time and the delivery of the food was on time majority of the times I’ve ordered but my experience today was awful. I ordered my food at 12:00, with the delivery ETA of 12:45. I checked the status on my app and it said my food was delivered at 12:24. I spoke with customer service via chat and they stated they spoke with the delivery driver and he was three minutes away and my food would be delivered shortly. Another 30 mins went by no food. I called the restaurant this time and they stated my food was ready and had been siting there for 45 mins. I called GrubHub customer service to see what was going on, the customer service guy apologized offered me $10 off my next order and said he would call the driver. He got back on the phone and said he attempted to call the driver multiple times but the driver turned off his phone. I was outraged, the customer seemed rep gave me two options, cancel order for a full refund or have them deliver my order that has been sitting there for an hour at this point. GruHub offered new real solutions and it was almost 2:00 by this time and I was starving!!! I deleted the app, and never downloading again!!! I’ll stick to Eat24, at least on their app, I can call the driver directly and if something like this happens they still deliver the food and provide a full refund, now that’s true customer service. I guess I’ll go make lunch now.

This app is the best however there is one major glitch. If you Open a restaurant and start to place an order and then for some reason have to do something else on your phone such as received a phone call or send a message, when you go to go back in to GrubHub your order is completely gone. It in NO WAY saves your order to you bag. This has been a large inconvenience a few times. Also it doesn't often seem to be very convenient way to add extra small things that aren't always automatic optional extras. Like if you want to add peppers to your soup ( a cheap but important add for some) and you have to message in the comment you then and hope that they add it and possibly price adjust your order. The thing that the app is outstanding. I use it constantly. Not to mention their customer service is amazing! Recently we were missing an addition to a main dish that was supposed to be together. Not only did grandpa take it upon themselves to send out the missing item they re-ordered the main dish for us so that everything could be hot and fresh together. That will ALWAYS fix problems above and beyond. That's why I will continue to always use them.

Does this app/company seriously expect to make money and compete with Ubereats running their business like this? The delivery fee is $8 even if the restaurant is literally 5 minutes away from your location ... compared to a $4.99-$6.99 delivery fee from Ubereats (which by the way the amount you pay for delivery w/Ubereats is determined by proximity). Then this app requires that you to tip BEFORE you receive your food and SERVICE.. Excuse the hell out of me but when did tipping become something that is expected rather than EARNED. This literally gives the driver no incentive to provide great service ... at all. However, with Ubereats you tip after receiving the food and service. I’ve never had a problem with Ubereats arriving within the timeframe and if the driver is running a little behind they always call and keep me updated. They always deliver to my door, unless I’m at work because it’s difficult to do since I work at a hospital and people often get lost. I ALWAYS tip and have no problem with doing so but definitely have a problem with giving a tip before services are rendered and feel like I’m being forced to do so. If the company is reading this and wants to stay in business , please take notes from Ubereats and treat your paying customers better. I didn’t even have the chance to use the app because I was so turned off. I’ll stick with the better option for now... Ubereats.

First time using and was using a gift card. When I got to checkout it did not give me the option to use the gift card. I did finally see under My Grub there was a place to enter the gift card. Did that and still would not work! Finally went to Help function and called. Had a hard time understanding the person on the other end and she didn’t seem to understand what I was trying to tell her the problem was and put me on hold. While on hold I saw there were many fields to My Grub profile that needed completion. Did all of those while on hold and tried again to check out but again no choice to use gift card. The only field I didn’t fill out was credit card payment-lol and behold once I entered that information I was able to have the option at checkout to use my gift card! Your customer service person returns to the line and I told her I figured it out and had placed my order...she still didn’t seem to understand that as well!!! Very frustrating to say the least....my suggestion is when you sign up it forces you to submit all information needed. Also was extremely disappointed in choices of restaurants as you TV ads make it seem like you have lots of choices-even before signing up it said I had 82 choices when in reality once I put my address in I had maybe 15 and several were duplicate restaurants. I surely will not recommend Grubhub to my friends.

So I used to love GrubHub and suggested it to all of my friends to download and use. Lately has been a different story. More often than not our food has taken at least an hour to get here, and I’ve had to walk outside and down the road or across the street because the drivers don’t leave their car. Now I’m understanding, so I called customer service to inform them of the issues I was having and the response I got was that they were short staffed and that it wasn’t policy to have the drivers bring the food to the door. But if I’m waiting for an hour, pay a delivery fee and tip, and then still have to go downstairs and outside down the road to get my food that’s ridiculous— what’s the point in paying for all that if they can’t even walk up to my door (and no it wasn’t raining or snowing or anything like that either). I talked to two customer service representatives and basically all I got was “I understand is there anything else I can help you with?” And felt extremely brushed off. I think we will be taking a long break from the app while they fix these issues. I’ve been using it for a long time and it’s upsetting that after having all these issues all I got from them was “oh I understand but if I can’t help you with anything else have a nice day”

I download this app about 3 days ago, all ordes were simple not complex AT ALL. My 3rd order I placed was for two meals and kids meals at Red Robin. Order was delivered but missing an ENTIRE KIDS ORDER.( missed my restaurant and driver) so I called customer service and I was told I’d have to reorder from the app to receive my food my driver cannot go back and get it. Another 45 minutes for my child to wait. They just refunded my money only for the one kids meal. Now I have to go out waste the time I didn’t want to to drive and get my child more food. I’m absolutely unsatisfied and would recommend everyone look for different apps that are similar to this one INSTEAD of this one. I was contActed and given a coupon by Grubhub so I’m trying it again, review to be changed after this experience I’m about to have. After my coupon I ordered from the same restaurant thinking it wouldn’t happen again, but it did. Now in no way is this grub hubs fault I don’t expect my delivery driver to root around in my food making sure everything is there, what I suggest is you DO NOT order from Red Robin. And grub hub I suggest you take them off your list to prevent a load of complaints in the future
READ BEFORE YOU’RE RIPPED OFF

I ordered from Grubhub 3 times. First time the food was delivered 15 minutes late and cold (not a big deal so I didn’t complain). Second time food was delivered late because driver “couldn’t find the entrance” despite incredibly clear instructions (still not a big deal and didn’t complain). Third time is where my problem started. Driver handed me my bag really quick and then took off. I found half my order to be missing. I called the restaurant and they said that the driver was in a hurry and had left the rest on the counter despite their efforts to tell the driver there was more. The restaurant was very polite but said grubhub handles the payments so they would have to issue the refund. I called Grubhub Customer service and the lady said they’d issue a refund for that amount (recorded on their line and mine). 4 days later, was not correct on bank statement, called and told it would be correct once charge wasn’t pending and had gone trough. Week later, charge went through and still wrong. Called and was told by customer service that since it had been a week they would not issue refund but could give me credit toward next purchase. Explained that was not going to happen, I had called the day of and was told refund, so what he was trying to do was illegal. Suddenly he was capable of refunding my amount. No further purchases will be made by me through grubhub.

The WORST. I've tried to use this app multiple times and every single time it's a total disaster. First of all, when you order for delivery it just doesn't show up. Cool, so just do pickup you might say. Wrong. You'll show up to the restaurant and they'll look at you like you have 3 heads, or try to tell you to pay at the restaurant, despite you having already paid for your food through this horrendous app. Today I reached my breaking point, though. They will lure you in with their $10 off coupons. I fell for it. Placed my order and went to check out. First it said my credit card number was invalid. Excuse me? Whatever. I try my boyfriends card. Same thing. Try my debit card. Nope. So we try on my boyfriends phone. Get the card to work, however now the coupon is invalid! "Only good on your first order" it says. This is my first order. I assume since I ATTEMPTED to place this order on my phone unsuccessfully it just went ahead and invalidated my coupon anyway. I don't know. All I know is you're better off just going to a drive thru and keeping your sanity. This app will break even the strongest minds. Stay away, save yourself. You will be left hungry and livid, you'll probably say some things you don't mean and destroy relationships with the ones you love most. Before downloading this nightmare just ask yourself, is it worth it?
No discount when you refer people

I’ve used this app countless times and I actually like using it more than the other apps out there. My one issue is that I’ve referred at least 3-4 people this year alone to use this app, which they have with the assumptions that I would receive the $10 discount as stated on their website. When they ordered, I’ve noticed that I never actually received the discount. To watch this closely, I referred someone in October while they were visiting for the weekend, I saw them use the link to order and for some reason I did not receive the discount again. I assumed that there was something wrong with my email but how could that be? I’ve used it a few times to order food and I had no issues doing so, I’m not sure if I’m the only one having this issue but that’s what I’ve noticed recently. Otherwise, it’s great, I will keep ordering from them because I have no issues paying for my meals but going forward I won’t assume that Grubhub will provide me with the discount as stated on their platform when I invite friends or maybe I should no longer refer people. I’ve contacted Grubhub btw, and provided the emails used and they weren’t able to assist. My two cents ✌🏾 Peace!
first experience and its terrible

i dont write bad reviews or complain ever but this was wild. i placed my order at 3:31 for chick fil a. drink sandwich and fries. it estimated the time at 4:05-4:15. 4:25 rolls around, i call just to make sure they got my order. the employee told me that the driver had just gotten there...which i was annoyed by but i was like maybe theres traffic its fine. another 20 minutes goes by and he still isnt here. FINALLY at 5:10 he gets here. my food is cold, and he didnt bring me my drink that i ordered. i called chick fil a but they said that its grubhub that i needed to contact so i did. the man i spoke to was not very considerate or polite. i couldnt understand his name but he sounded as though he was reading from a script. i am sick at home right now which is why i wanted delivery. there was nothing sincere in the apology he gave me. i explained how long i waited, that this was my first experience using their service, that part of my order was missing and that my food was cold. he said he could refund me for the drink and give me a ten dollar credit for grub hub. i was not happy with that either. i believe i should have been given a full refund. i payed an extra 5 dollars for delivery and tip. im extremely dissatisfied. ill use the ten dollar credit but unless someone contacts me and sincerely apologizes and gives me a full refund, i wont be using this app again. this was unacceptable

I’ve never written a review for an app but after having such a horrible experience with them several times I should add I felt absolutely compelled to write a review. This is the second time I order from them that they claim to have delivered my food and it never gets delivered, the first time it happened they just apologized and said my money wouldn’t be refunded until 2-3 business days and at the time it was the only money I had to order food with so I got left without money and food. The first two times I’ve had an issue with Grubhub customer service just apologized and offered a measly $10 off my next order. This time they said they wouldn’t refund me my full amount because the driver attempted to deliver the food and attempted to call me which is not true I never received a phone call from him not even from my call box at my apartment which he claimed to be at..ok furthermore I attempted contacting the driver 2 times after speaking directly with the restaurant and the restaurant attempted to call him as well and he never answered it wasn’t until grubhub directly contacted him that he answered. Then grubhub refuses to refund me my full amount?! For never delivered food? The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard wasted 30 more minutes of my time arguing with them about it and now it’s too late to order delivery from any other restaurant 🙃

This app is a great concept with many flaws. I’ve used grub hub MANY times and more times had issues than received my food long after I placed my order than receiving it in a convenient amount of time. Every time I press that place order button I find myself hoping that another issue isn’t going to come up where an hour to an hour and a half later I’m not going to have to call in and find out what’s going on. I can’t say not to use the app, because yea you will get your food and customer service is great, but don’t rely on it to get your food any faster than it would take you to just walk up the block and grab a quick bite. At the very least, I do have to give it to Grubhub for finding me hidden gems among the usual places I go to eat, but rather than coming back to use the app again I find myself walking to to place myself to get some food after. It’s hard to love this app when I always get my food once I’m so hungry that I’m almost willing to call the $30-35 for ONE MEAL thanks to feed and forced tips a loss and walk up the block and grab a quick sandwich or something.

This was my first time using this app, I usually order thru Uber eats but I didn’t have the app on my new phone so I decided to try something new and use this app. However I am not happy. It took way longer to get my food, by the time my food actually got here it was cold (obviously I ordered hot food) my food was a few minutes late (not a big deal but Uber eats is always on time) and I got the wrong food, I had to pay EXTRA for my food items so I’m obviously not happy getting the wrong food. I do the chat thing and talk to someone about it which took FOREVER (when using Uber eats I’ve always gotten very quick responses and my issues were always handled promptly and quickly) and in the end I’m sitting here with the wrong food it’s cold I can’t enjoy it it’s my first time ordering and no offer to fix my food just a refund that hasn’t shown up in my account and told to reorder the food again. WHY WOULD I WANT TO REORDER WHEN THEY MESSED IT UP THE FIRST TIME AND IT TOOK SO LONG. I am not willing to pay $30 to get the right food, and wait for half of it to be refunded if it does at all. I probably won’t use this app if something isn’t fixed or handled better, I would not recommend this to ANYONE. I have taken screen shots of the whole ordeal just Incase anyone would like some visual of just how poorly this whole fiasco went. 😭👎👎👎

I ordered panda express to deliver to my work we have a close the gate where the GPS will take the driver to they have to call in a driver did call and I gave simple instructions to the driver but every driver is always not speak English I speak English I’m not that good at Spanish yet or whatever country you’re from I want what’s my food and it turns out I had a meeting driver named Ali I told him samples instructions he would not listen to me He yelled at me and said I am not turning around to follow your GPS blah blah blah blah you need to come to the gate or not giving you food because I don’t speak English if you’re got to drive in America you must speak English that is the requirement GrubHub is the worst service ever for me I have to use this app because some of the stores or restaurants don’t deliver with the app I use and November 4 I had a SUBWAY® order that was been canceled and he said they will send the money back within 3 to 5 business days what turns out it is not in my account when I got the canceled from panda express he had to call the management I asked the number he refused I do not waste my money to GrubHub and have their employees eat my food I can I get good quality customer service at all take it delivered to my work address GrubHub you were the worst customer service ever what’s your staff
Delayed delivery with no updates

So I normally haven’t had any problems with this app in the past, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1, id probably give it 2 1/2 stars if we could do halves, but recently (within the last couple months or so) I’ve had an issue with getting my order on time. I get an estimated wait of 30-40 minutes, ok cool, and it gives me and estimated time of when I should receive my order but when it’s been 30, 45, 60 minutes since that supposed delivery time and I haven’t gotten my food yet, yea that’s a problem. Of course I call customer service and they contact the driver and within 15-20 minutes I get my order, but that’s just ridiculous. Like I don’t know if it’s my phone or if the app is just crappy and crashes/freezes all the time but this is the 3rd time this has happened with grub hub and it’s getting kind of annoying...like update the app to where we get updates for whatever is going on. Have never had any issue with Uber eats, so maybe redesign this to where it’s something similar to Uber eats cause there’s a live gps location so you can see where your driver is and how close they are. Nothing wrong with the food I’ve ordered, just the communication between driver/restaurant and customer.
A bit of a time saver

I probably use this app more than I should. being able to reorder prior orders is a time saver, as is not tying up a restaurant's busy phone lines. Couple of things I wish the app did a little better: 1) if you order enough times (or don't order after a certain amount of time), you'll get an email from grubhub with discount codes. These are great but are always very time limited AND you have to copy and paste from the email. These discount codes should already be available in app (and maybe last a little longer) 2) there are restaurants that don't show up in my app due to geography, but that do participate in grubhub. If I call on phone, they'll deliver to me. Would like a way to try and expand the geographic filter slightly to get those restaurants 3) wish there was a clear way to make recommendations to the restaurants in app to make tweaks to their menu. For example one of my restaurants has Brand X as a drink option in restaurant but not listed in grubhub. Instead I order Brand Y in app but write in Brand X in the comments. I've done this for over a year so surprised not picked up or changed by now.

Listen, I think I’m about done using Grubhub. There is absolutely no communication on the status of an order outside the inaccurate tracker within the app. Multiple times I’ve had an order not delivered within the expected time and I’ve had to call the care team to inform them that I still haven’t received my order. Most recently I called and was told that no driver had accepted my order to pick up yet from the restaurant, basically telling me that I have to continue to wait until someone accepts it to pick it up. And this is after I already waited an hour over the expected time of delivery. How about not allowing the order to go through and taking money from me until a driver accepts the pick up. Also how do you guys expect me to know that my order hasn’t been picked up yet because a driver refuses to accept it unless I called in? All you guys do is offer me a 10 dollar promotion every time. Meanwhile apps like ubereats and door dash give me both a visual and notify me that a driver has picked up my order. Then when I get the order, the food is cold. It’s really not worth the trouble and all the extra fees charged for a service that is always late. So as a long time Grubhub user you’ve guys have pushed me far enough and I’ll continue to use ubereats who actually bring me my food on time.

I ordered on Grubhub for the first time and was stoked with how easy it was. Right around the expected delivery time, I get a call from the driver saying that he was driving from 40 min away to come pick up and deliver my order and explained to me that other drivers had passed my order up because I hadn’t left a tip - he would deliver my order for no tip, but of course it would be appreciated. This seems like a poor app layout & business plan here. On the tip screen, it does not indicate if the tip is for the driver or the restaurant. If it is for the driver, having a confirmation screen after the order is marked as delivered to say that I received the order and it was correct, with an option for a tip would make much more sense. Something similar to Lyft for rating/tipping. Tipping in advance makes no sense. Also, I’m not sure how the drivers are paid, but it seems like it could use revising if it is not enough to have them accept order. (And this was a short drive, on a Friday night, in an urban area. Should be wicked easy to accept and move to the next order.) Would love to use this app again, but this issue with the tipping/driver not accepting orders makes me very hesitant to do so.

We use the app at least weekly. It has really spoiled me and the Mrs. The app has been improving since they started developing. It is very easy to use and they have made it convenient to having different payment options. We have never had any real problems with the restaurants we order from with the exception of one order from one of our favorite go-to’s, that is about 2 miles away, being an hour after their expected arrival time, they usually have it to our door in 20-45 minutes. Our concern was that the driver may be making a bunch deliveries with our food onboard and that it might not be fresh (sushi) by the time it arrived. We used the app to make an inquiry and Grubhub’s support called us within 2 minutes of my submission and then contacted the restaurant on our behalf to see what was up. Needless to say the food arrived maybe 10 minutes later and was otherwise perfect. So you can see per our experience that using the app is spoiling me. I’ve tried eat24 and UberEATS with consistently bad experiences. And we enjoy the deals they send to me via email like 20% off so forth.

Used Grubhub three times already. First time, order was delayed, but food arrived warm as ordered. Unfortunately one of the items on the menu was listed as vegan/vegetarian and later found out it was not - so that is a menu issue on the restaurant’s side. Second time ordered, food on time and warm, but the menu was not up to date so combos arrived with completely different sides. Third time ordered, food arrived warm and on time, special instructions were given (sauce on side) which were followed, but unfortunately- an entire meal combo was missing. It is a hassle to refund and reorder because of the wait time for the refund and adding the food prep and delivery all over again (if you experience this, might just consider a straight refund). It is a good concept, just not sure how they could fix issues with outdated menus or orders being correct. Maybe a fix like Instacart - where you can see when things are being added to cart as they happen in real time and the shopper/driver can text you about problems like substitutes, but that would be something on the restaurant’s end.

Maybe we were just lucky to live in small neighborhoods that also had great restaurant selections that offered delivery. A few times menu items that were still offered dropped off of GrubHub and we opted to call the restaurant instead for delivery, but this was after we'd been introduced by GB and had found a favorite through the app. Biggest pet peeve - sometimes restaurants that are closed certain days of the week will appear as available to order from. Will say that every time we had a problem GH customer service was great and we've never lost money, just a few meals we were excited for and then it was too late to try ordering from somewhere else. Are you an introvert foodie who hates to be surrounded by strangers while you eat, but wants something besides pizza or Chinese delivered to your doorstep while you wear pjs? We have discovered some great hidden gems and all without having to leave our safe little bunker (hey, we've got jobs that require our full energy and attention. Delivery is for unwinding in peace at home).

I ordered food from a restaurant and the original estimate was 30-40 minutes. Every time I checked on the status it kept adding time to when the food would actually be delivered. I contacted customer service and talked to Nick who told me he was so sorry I needed to check on the details of my order. Two hours after ordering and 10 minutes of waiting for Nick to respond, the driver shows up. He tells us there was an issue with the app and no driver had been dispatched. So we got our food late and ice cold. Nick then tells me he'll refund me the tip, so taking money away from the driver who did nothing wrong. What a joke. I deleted the app and will never use them again. When using these apps try to understand it's not the restaurant or the driver who did a bad job, it's a huge company that doesn't care about customer service at all. As an update to Grubhub's response - I did contact customer service, several months ago when I had the issue. Your customer service line was where I had the terrible service. Instead of owning up that there was an error in the app you tried to blame the driver and take money away from them. That is why I will never use this service again. Please read reviews next time before commenting.

I love food delivery services and am a frequent user of Uber Eats as its super convenient, has a wide selection and is decently quick. I finally decided to give Grubhub a try and had three restaurants to choose from: Taco Bell, Taco Bell and (you guessed it) Taco Bell. Not a problem as I do occasionally like me some soft tacos and crunch wrap supreme. I placed the order and patiently waited checking the app every so often to see if the food had been picked up yet. Alarmingly the estimated delivery time kept on getting pushed back until I saw the dreaded words “CANCELLED”. I shortly thereafter received a call from Grubhub letting me know that they were unable to get a driver, apologized and offered to give me $25 credit. I was pretty disappointed but I appreciated them trying to make thing s right. About a month later I decided to give Grubhub another try, still being a little leery about trying it again, but hey I had $25! When I finally go to check out I notice that there is no credit applied to my account. I start a chat with their support for them to tell me that my gift card had just expired days before and there was nothing they could do. This whole Grubhub experience has been a roller coaster ride ending in disappointment and empty stomachs. Ya’ll been warned!

I ordered my food around 9pm, the app told me to expect my food to arrive between 9:40pm and 9:50pm. At 10pm I decide to call the restaurant just to make sure that my order is on its way, or at least being made. They informed me that they were having a problem with GrubHub, their orders were not received, then they were, but GrubHub never showed up. The man on the phone told me that I needed to call GrubHub and speak with them. Meanwhile, GrubHub has yet to contact me, not by phone, or through the app. So I call GrubHub and speak to a gentleman, who placed me on hold for a very long time, as he was going to call the restaurant and figure out the problem. When we finally returned he doesn’t have any answers, and ask me if I see want my order? I’m like seriously? I’m like what were you doing for the past 4 mins when you placed me on hold? I decided that maybe a “chat” would be a better form of communication. I believe Amanda finally told me that my food is actually going to be made. I’ve waited for nearly two hours for some food, after skipping lunch today, and working 9 hours, and I still don’t have any food! Unbelievable. If your app is designed to ruins people nights well mission accomplished. Thank you, but no Thank you, you lost a customer.

I’ve used GrubHub few times and something went wrong every single time. The inability of contacting your driver makes everything extremely difficult when you live in an apartment complex. Last time I ordered trough GrubHub I waited for my food 30 minutes past the delivery time and my order was marked as “delivered”, called the customer service and they told me the driver couldn’t access the front door and left the food outside on the stairwell, I went out looking for the bag everywhere for 40 minutes and it was nowhere to be found, the security of my condo found the bag abandoned on the emergency stairwell of another building the morning after. I had to go find a place to eat at 11 PM in a city where pretty much everything closes by that time and I was offered $5 discount on my next purchase that never happened because I’ll be damned if I ever order from them again. I forgot to mention the small detail that I had to go look for my food walking with crutches due to a foot surgery I’ve just had, reason why I paid for my food to be delivered in the first place. Uber Eats has higher delivery fees but at least the service is guaranteed to be delivered at your door and you can physically talk with whoever is bringing you your order.

If you want the short version then yea.... use Uber eats to order your food... My experience with Grubhub can only be described as catastrophic. I have used it multiple times and every single time something has went wrong. The delivery time is CRIMINALLY slow and in my personal experience it has never stuck to the original estimated time. Sure being delayed by 10-15 minutes is fine, hell even 20-25 minutes I’d live with; however my delivery time kept getting delayed until it was 2 hours since the initial order was put. I could have went to the place and picked it up myself in less than that time ! I even called the restaurant to see if my order was picked up and they said it was waiting there for 55 minutes!😭🤦‍♂️. The only reason I am giving them two stars and not one is because their customer service was functional and I got a full refund along with a 25 dollar discount on my next purchase. However I won’t be using that on my next purchase because there won’t be another one. Now save yourself some time and either go to the restaurant yourself or use Uber eats. Uber Eats isn’t perfect but it still is better than this crap !

We’ve been in Los Angeles for almost 6 months, and have used this app a lot—average of once a week or so. So far we’ve only had one order where we didn’t get what we paid for, but that was the fault of the restaurant, not GrubHub. The restaurant manager said he would contact Grubhub for a refund for the missing item, but to my knowledge, we’ve never been credited. I chalk it up to being the same as getting the wrong toppings on your pizza or something similar—just human error. I love that I can order, cover the tip, and get notifications for delivery times! (which are always accurate, or even early) Coming from a rural area where delivery is limited, we feel like this app is almost magical! 😂😂😂 The only real complaint I would have, is that delivery fees are often different once you actually click on the restaurant. For instance it might say, “$2.99 delivery fee” but when you click on the restaurant the fee might be $6.99, so you have to pay attention. Other than that, we love it!

I will never order from any restaurant that uses Grubhub as delivery. A group of teachers ordered from Taco Bell and left a note in the memo stating that the delivery person needed an ID to get in the school. You would think that wouldn’t have been a problem since you need a driver’s license to drive a car to make deliveries. We ordered two hours before we needed the food because as teachers we only have a few extra minutes to make any orders. We have a half hour to eat before we have recess duty. I went to the front office to pick up our food, and it was not there. Someone tried to deliver the food an hour before we needed it but did not have a driver’s license, so she left. She didn’t even tell the front office she was delivering food to teachers because they would have gone out to get it. We called Grubhub who said they couldn’t do anything, couldn’t make a delivery, and fought with me to get reimbursed for the food we didn’t get. I don’t know what their delivery person did with $50 worth of Taco Bell food, but six teachers did not get lunch from Grubhub on that day. I spent my whole lunch time fighting with customer service to get reimbursed. After this review, I am deleting the app and never using the service again.

Our busy family would love it if this worked smoothly, but our orders are frequently wrong or incomplete. We keep trying it out because we would love to have dinner just appear, but tonight was the last straw. In the past it has been an appetizer missing or the wrong sauce or no drinks. Inconveniences, but we call customer service with the missing appetizer and it gets refunded. We’ve lost money because it seems like too much of a hassle to call customer service and deal with their long wait times and not native English-speaking customer service reps for a missing beverage or the wrong salad dressing or something, but tonight we had our children’s entire dinner missing. We called hoping that the driver could run their food back to us. Instead they refunded the money and apologized, so we end up having to figure out what to feed the kids anyway, on a night when we were short on time and options, which is why we decided to have dinner delivered in the first place. With so many different restaurants and drivers, there are too many moving parts for Grubhub to be able to ensure any kind of consistency, accuracy, or quality.

So today I ordered from Burger King through the grub hub app. The app automatically chose the location to place the order with and to my surprise 40 minutes after placing the order and the food still had not been picked up the app chose the location that was the farthest away from home. There is a store that .62 miles away. But it chose a store that was 2.9 miles away. Hmm why would the app choose the farthest one in my area and not the closest one? Waste of time. So I called customer service and mentioned this and they said sorry wait for your food that has been made 45 minutes waiting to be picked up to get to you to see if the freshness is okay for you #%?&@$ seriously how can you say that to a customer? It’s been sitting for 45 minutes it’s not fresh anything at this point and the customer service guy said food is guaranteed by 10am and I tried to explain the distance to this location that there was no way the food would be here by 10am... sure enough not here at 10am as a matter of fact the app just updated that food won’t be here till 10:25 am which is an hour and about ten minutes after I ordered it and an hour and five minutes since the store made it! HORRIBLE

I just can’t believe this company. I’m waiting to watch them be sued left and right for the business that they’re running. I’ve ordered a lot from grubhub and often my orders are late and a huge hassle when it comes to dealing with the drivers. A very frequent issue is that The drivers make it my job to find them when the service I ordered was a delivery not hide and seek. It is the delivery drivers job to know where they are delivering the food and making it hassle free for the customer. That’s the whole point to a delivery! Another major issue is how they handle refunds. This company will offer credit instead of a refund that expires in 3 months. This is where the company can be honestly sued. They didn’t allow the refund on my CC and forced me to take credit. After 3 months the credit was gone. When I asked why the rep responded with I should have asked for a refund on my CC.... which I did and they didn’t allow me to do. So basically they stole my money for a service that wasn’t performed. I just gave them money to screw up an order and never deliver it. It’s infuriating. Don’t give these people your money! Grubhub I hope you go down or rework the ethics and values of your business.

Let me start this by saying the customer service reps are the worst I have ever had to deal with ever in my whole life. There has been a lot of times where I have had to call in and had to either get a refund or whole items were missing from my orders MULTIPLE times! This is by far frustrating to me, and is down right stealing at times! However, besides the horrid customer service department that just needs to be ushered out and replaced all together because they basically stole my money and didn’t give me it back. The app itself doesn’t always work right and the drivers are kind of rude as well and the food won’t be hot by any means, and like I said before there is a chance the drivers will not check your order to make sure everything is there and just flat out leave things at the restaurant and won’t go back to get your full order! It’s kind of useless as a service. I work night shifts so this is appreciated when it works right and all the food and drink arrives that has been ordered! Again, if you are thinking of downloading this be careful the drivers might just throw your food at you or leave the food at the restaurants.

Grub Hub recently acquired Order Up (Baltimore area) and, unfortunately, I am disappointed. The Order Up app was definitely more user friendly. Many of the restaurants that I would frequently order from no longer will deliver to my house under Grub Hub. I never considered Uber Eats but looks like I will have to check them out. Hopefully, they will be a better alternative. ***UPDATE: I had continued using this service after my initial review. Still wasn’t my favorite but it did the job until last night. The food I had ordered and paid for never arrived. I had called the restaurant who had confirmed my order and said that it was ready but had been waiting for pick up. I tried called customer service but it wasn’t working. After two rings the call would drop. The online chat wasn’t available. Apparently “too many chatter.” I’ve read other horrendous reviews and this company doesn’t like to give full refunds or even refunds for that matter. I emailed this morning asking for a refund so I’m curious to see their response. I’m probably not going to even bother and just take this up with my bank. Bye bye Grub Hub. Hope you a**holes go out of business .
Grubhub takes no accountability

The app puts all the blame on restaurants. When I was waiting for food and the delivery time was extended again I called the restaurant who said the food was put in within a couple minutes of receiving the order, but no driver had arrived. They said they had actually called Grubhub to report the food sitting there for almost an hour. Grubhub said they would call me, but i received no call from them. I then had to call Grubhub and they said they would get a driver out ASAP. The restaurant remade the food since it was waiting. I had no way to rate my experience with the delivery driver or Grubhub’s dispatch issues. I don’t like how it put the blame on the restaurant, when they had done everything and were very kind about it. I also experienced another time where the driver picked up the food and it was the wrong order. I had to reorder the food to get a new order despite the driver and restaurant miscommunication over the name of the order?! Apparently both thought they had said the same name but they didn’t. WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM GRUBHUB. If there was a better delivery food service in my area I would use it. I always call the restaurant directly if they offer delivery themselves.

I’m not normally one to write a review but this time I am. It was my first time using grub hub as a delivery service. We placed our order and the restaurant made the food...after an hour of waiting with no update and it was a half hour past the expected delivery time. We called the restaurant and they told us our driver didn’t show up. They advised us to call grub hub for a refund. We called grub hub and the woman on the phone refused to give us a refund for our order. Instead she told us a driver had never been assigned to our order and that she would send a driver to to get it. We told her that was unacceptable because our food was sitting out for over an hour at the restaurant and was most likely cold. She promised to call the restaurant to check the quality of our order before dispatching the driver. We hung up the phone and got a notification that our order had been cancelled and we would get a refund in 3-5 business days (which is a totally different solution then the one we had just come to on the phone). We accepted that since it was what we originally wanted and instead called the restaurant and ordered carry out. But overall, not a good experience and I won’t be using grub hub again.

If I could give negative stars I would. Placed an order for Chinese food for pick up stix with a promise of it being delivered in 25-30 minutes. Here it is an HOUR AND FOURTY FIVE MINUTES later and still no food and this is the second time calling them. The first call said “I contacted the driver and she said she will be there in 5-10 minutes at the most.” Ok..... 25 minutes later and I call again to be told “the food is actually still sitting at the restaurant and the driver is being reassigned and we don’t have an available driver for your order. But we will call you when a driver become available to let you know your food is on its way and offer you a $10 promotion credit to put towards your next order?!?!?! So for all I know a driver never becomes available and we never get the food that we paid for.... You think I’m going to order from you again???? That’s cute.... I’ve now been on the phone with them for over half an hour with nothing solved. Meanwhile, it’s way past time for my kids to eat dinner. They’ve been sitting here asking me where their food is and telling me they are hungry. DO NOT USE GRUBHUB. Half the customer service workers can’t even speak proper English to communicate effectively.

I order my food nov29-18 and was waiting over an hour and a half. The wait was soo long that the restaurant called and asked if anyone was coming to get the food because they were closed. They stayed after their closing time waiting for someone to get the food; so i called grub hub and said where’s my food and the kept making excuses like the driver isn’t answering the phone, we’re gonna find a new driver. So at this point im irritated, and they gave me a coupon lol like i was really gonna use that trash app again. So i called the restaurant back and just told them to go home and apologized. So i called grub hub and told them to just cancel my order and give me my money back. So they canceled it and 5 minutes later it says my order was delivered and hour ago which was a lie. Grub hub is a SCAM they take hours to attempt to deliver your food, then ends up getting canceled. Btw i never got my refund money that was supposed to come in 3-5 days after the incident. They said to talk to my bank, which i did and they never gave me my money back. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UBEREATS & DOORDASH WILL BE THE ONLY DELIVERY SERVICE THAT WILL GET MY MONEY. I'm sorry to say this, but there is a lot of unreliability with this company. I'm not sure if it's the drivers or the company itself, but today I had to wait 2 hours and counting to receive my food because my delivery driver had problems with his car. Normally, I would totally understand. However, this is probably the third time in a row that my order was so incredibly delayed and it's always the same or a similar excuse. Either the driver's car broke down, or the restaurant ran out of food. We need more creative excuses here people! Or better yet--no excuses. They also told me he was stuck in traffic after picking up my order...the restaurant is 3 blocks away from my place. There is NO traffic. Even though they provide discount codes, it's not worth it because you still have to order from Grubhub to use them, and each time my order is over an hour delayed. At this point, Grubhub should be offering some kind of promotional credit to our cards--not for more bad service. Either amend your business practices, or hire better and more reliable delivery drivers. Highly dissatisfied with my experience, and it gets worse every time. Also thanks for the 2.5 hour old, cold food!!

Couldn’t have been more dissatisfied with my recent Grubhub experience! The restaurant called an hour after I placed my order and informed me that my order was ready but no driver had been assigned. I placed a call to Grubhub and after an over ten minute hold I was told a driver was located and assigned and my order would be there in fifteen minutes. After twenty minutes and still no delivery I placed another call to Grubhub, was placed on yet another over ten minute hold and was then hung up on. I called back waited another five minutes on hold and was told they could not find a driver, this was after informing there was a driver assigned in the previous phone call. At this point I demanded to speak with a supervisor, I was repeatedly refused a transfer to a supervisor and was told my order would arrive in thirty minutes after the delivery of another order. After waiting 45 minutes, I received an email stating my order was canceled by Grubhub. All total I waited for over three hours! Completely ridiculous! Would not recommend this service if you plan on eating anytime soon or at all! Giving a no star rating was not an available option. I hate I was forced to give one star.

My drive was super rude and practically threw the food at me. When I asked about the drink he said there was none and it wasn’t charged. Before I could even show him my order the guy was gone. I was left without a drink that I did pay for.

Honestly, GrubHub MUST be paying people to write their reviews for them. This is an AWFUL, unprofessional, delivery service. Seriously, I’m never ordering from here again. My roommate and I ordered food at 8:55pm. The time was delayed all the way to 10:55pm. We called grub-hub and they refunded our money and gave us a gift card but said that our order would STILL get to us. It never did, they canceled our order with no notification. We pick a similar dinner from a different restaurant at around 11:00pm, this has now been delayed until 12:45. We called grub-hub and they couldn’t even get in touch with their driver. The driver “had car issues” so our time was delayed until 1:33am and is now delayed until 1:45am. Grub-Hub is a terrible service and I really believe this 4.8 stars are paid reviews because there’s just no way people think grub-hub is a good delivery service. Grub-hub is horrible. I will never be ordering from them again.

Order was supposed to be 30-40 minutes and after 75 minutes I tried to reach out for support. I used the chat app and had no response. I waited for a call for 15 minutes and the guy ended up hanging up on me. They later sent me a text saying that I would receive a $10 credit for my $35 order and that my order would arrive in 75 minutes. Totally unacceptable.

I live in an affluent suburb of Seattle. This is the sweet spot for these kinds of companies. DoorDash gives me close to a hundred restaurants to choose from, way more if I’m willing to pay more for the delivery. Grubhub gives me exactly 2. One is Pappa Johns Pizza (wow, pizza delivery how novel). The other a really bad Indian restaurant. Sell your stock. This one”s going to zero.

GrubHub seemed like a neat idea. I downloaded the app, placed and order, and saw that my card was immediately charged. About 10 minutes later, I receive a notification that my order was cancelled, no explanation, and was told to refer to my email for details. NO explanation in email either, expect to elaborate on when I may expect my full refund (in 3-5 business days)! Are you kidding me?! I received a follow-up email that I was getting a $5 off my next order comp. Missing my $40 for a couple days is no big deal, but I imagine for some it may be. For my situation, my spouse has the car at work, I was trying to order some dinner for myself and my kid, and didn’t want pizza, because we haven’t done grocery shopping and there’s no place close enough and safe enough to walk to in the dark for food. So now I don’t trust the app/service enough to order through them again and we’re stuck with pizza it looks like.

Unreliable drivers. The first 3 orders were delivered outside of the estimated time and food was cold at least once, then tonight I ordered and an hour later got a text saying my order was cancelled. Then got a call from Grubhub saying that the subway was closed when the driver got there. So, the driver was late getting there and that resulted in no food for us. Too late to get anything else. Thanks, won’t be relying on this service ever again.

First time GrubHub user. Ordered my food at 8:25 pm after having to call customer service twice in order to use a $15 off coupon on my first order. Even though I created an account for the first time (tonight) and ordered for the first time (tonight), the coupon would not work. So, after ordering my food GH “refunded” me $15. It’s now past 10pm, and after multiple calls to customer service and a random text from a delivery driver I cannot track via the app, I still have not received my food over an hour and a half after placing my order. My order was supposed to have been delivered at 9:10-9:15. Cannot imagine why anyone would want to use these services. I can definitively say that I never will again, and I’ll be sure to dissuade others from doing so as well. 0/5 stars.

I don’t usually do this but this by far the worst delivery experience and customer service I’ve ever had anywhere. The driver took over an hour to get to my apartment complex then couldn’t find my building. He spoke no English and had to give his phone to someone who lived in my neighborhood. Customer service also very rude. I called them a 2nd time for them to direct him to my door, after placing me on hold they called me back and told me my order was cancelled because I didn’t put my address when I ordered which is impossible to do. He put the blame on me with smart remarks such as “Your the one who put in the order.” then proceeded to hang up on me as i was contesting his claims. Stay far away from this app and these people. Stick with Uber eats or door dash. Way more reliable.

Yeah, I won’t be using Grubhub again. First, the website and app kept preventing me from adding items to the cart. After 10 minutes, Placed an order at 6PM for an 8:30 delivery. Grubhub waited until 8:15PM and texted me telling me that my order was cancelled and never received by the restaurant. I guess in 2019, it’s still too much to ask for to order my own food and have it delivered to my door. I’ll be here waiting when you all get it figured out, Grubhub.

I ordered from Grubhub before I came home. The estimated delivery time was 8:45 - 9:00. So I get home at 8:30 thinking I have time to spare. Nope seems they were here at 8:25. I missed it. I went to the help section but when it said chat was connected and I said what I wanted I could not get a response. Terrible service. I would not recommend this service.

So I took a leap of faith today, and decided, against all instinct, to put my nutritional concerns into the hands of a corporate giants stooge driver, who does not care whether or not I or my family starve. After placing a very generous order, and even including a two dollar tip, I was informed that I would be receiving my order of food, but what I got instead was an order of lies. As the estimated time of arrival slowly creeped higher and higher, my anger and anxiety rose, as well as, most importantly, my hunger. With mere minutes to spare before needing to leave for work, and force myself to through several torturous hours of malnourished labor, I knew something had to be done. I held my breath, and canceled this tremendous order, knowing the risk behind not being able to feed my family. However, after I canceled I was then informed that it would take three to five business days before my finances were returned to the un-GrubHubbed status, that being back in my account. I’ve never regretted a thing in my life, not my drunken plane ticket purchase to Italy, nor the four children I’ve had with five different women. But this... this may be the first. Well done. Wack. My first time using in a while. My complex can be pretty confusing and driver went to wrong door. Understandable, especially since my number on file wasn’t correct. At this point, I just wanted my order to be brought back or placed again. After 2 attempts, ended up getting a code that I could only use after spending an extra $8. The customer service is what leaves a bad note for me. Not the drivers inability to find my door. It happens.

I always have problems with my orders. Customer service just sends me a $5 off coupon for my next order. I shouldn’t have to pay after my food takes an hour to get to me. A restaurant was closed and it still allowed me to order from them, you guys cancelled my order and I haven’t received my refund because it “takes 5 days”. So you’re telling me now I have to spend MORE money and wait around to see if you guys ACTUALLY pay me back? As if I haven’t already waited around enough before my order was cancelled. 55 min estimated delivery time (ordered 7:07pm) turned into over 2 hours (received order at 9:21pm). Not able to contact driver at all. Called restaurant after an hour and they said my food was sitting there just waiting for driver to pickup. After driver pickup they continued to go the opposite way doing pickups completely out of the way (took an additional 30-40 min after initial pickup). No transparency at all with GrubHub. Went to the “help” portion of app just to have 221 other people in front of me to ask Grubhub questions about my order. Save time and use DoorDash. Just ordered from them and a 48 min delivery was at my door and food was hot in about 37 min.

My first time using this app I ordered a flan and a drink , and my drink was in the bag and it spilled couldn’t even eat my food. I ordered a second time to give it a chance and my food was still all over the place. 😡 For this I’m never using this app again. Horrible customer service! Tried getting in contact with the driver and couldn’t even do that , no one did anything for me I even tried speaking with a representative from grub hub and still couldn’t resolve the issue.

This is a joke. I’m trying to get signed up as a driver but it blocks you out. Then it tells you to email their specialist which I did. It comes back that this is an invalid email. On my app it only wants to know where I want my food delivered. I DONT WANT FOOD DELIVERED. I wish I didn’t have to give them a star. They deserve a NEGATIVE 5 star. They probably don’t know what that means

So I ordered food at 11:18 pm from Taco Bell with a total of $12.79. The order at first is expected to be delivered around 11:45, driver delays it first by 20mins then again by another 20mins just to then after those 40mins to cancel my order! I am now out $12.79 and have to wait 5 “bank” business days. I asked the help number for any kind of compensation for my inconvenience of now being short that money. Ummmm no, this is extremely stupid and I uninstalled the app, extremely disappointed.☹️

For Valentine’s Day my wife and I wanted to spend a nice relaxing night in so we ordered from grub hub. It was from Bjs restaurant first the site gave a delivery window, after the window had passed you 10 minutes. we called the restaurant and and verified our order was ready 20 min prior. They said grub hub had messed up over 12 orders throughout the day. Then the site changed and now showed a delivery window 1 hour passed the original time .So we called grub hub customer service for over 20 minutes they had us on hold only to find out they blamed the restaurant and would not refund our order. So we asked to speak with a manager then being on hold for 30 min more they disconnected the line and hung up. I will never order from grub hub again and I encourage those who care about customer service to do the same.

I had already paid and was waiting for the delivery, 20 minutes after the time my food was suppose to be delivered I got a text saying my order was cancelled. Ordered once and the order was delivered in a decent time frame. Ordered today at 6:38pm and received two delivery delayed notifications (final eta 8:55pm), so I called the restaurant and I was told the food had been ready for pickup since 7:00pm. I asked if the food was cold, he said yes. I called and canceled my order, after waiting 17 minutes on hold. My order was canceled, but the funds are still on hold.

Ordered a meal and the ap said the restaurant hadn’t even begun preparing the food after an hour. So called Grub Hub and after waiting on hold for over 10 minutes a lady told me that the restaurant closed. Problem: it was 8 o’clock and the restaurant closes at midnight so I just chose to punt at this point since this person was clueless and I agreed to a refund. She then told me to hold for a confirmation and promptly hung up on me. I placed my own to go order online and had food to my door within an hour.

Grub hub makes sure you can’t contact them. Estimate was sooo off multiple times. One order was 2.5 hours. Then you can’t reach their customer service to cancel or inquire. So you’re just left with no food and an active order that you have no idea when/if it’ll show. Gave it quite a few chances and it’s just not a reliable service. Definitely not a customer centric service.

I usually use their competitors, but occasionally I'll use grubhub. They are by far the worst. They assign multiple orders to the same driver, so it's always late and it's always cold. I just got an order 50 minutes after it was originally supposed to be here. It wasn't the drivers fault at all. He got assigned two orders in opposite directions and didn't get them assigned until they were already late. Do yourself a favor and use door dash or Uber eats. Both are much better.

I don’t know if it is just my area but I have used this app a hand full of time and several times the wait is way longer than quoted. I have received cold food twice. And today I placed an order at 5:26 it said the arrival time should be around 6:00 I called customer service at 6:36 to cancel my order. I’m deleting that app just a waste of time. And now I have a 3 year old upset she couldn’t get what she wanted.

Ordered food that said would take 45-50 minutes. After an hour and a half the app still said the restaurant was making the food. Called restaurant which reported food is ready and no one has come to pick it up. Called Grubhub customer service and waited on hold for 20 mins to talk to someone who just tried to make excuses and acted like she couldn’t find our order. She found the order right as it was picked up. She then asked us to call them back when the food got there. There was no way we were gonna wait on hold for another 20 mins just to tell them our food was cold! It was obvious the food would not be fresh after sitting there for almost an hour. The representative then agreed to call us back after a few minutes to check. Ended up with cold, hard, dried out food and cold soggy nachos at 8pm. Food was ordered at 5:47pm. This app has problems and whoever is responsible for ensuring a driver is at the restaurant when food is ready failed miserably. Will not be using this service again.

Placed a order for some B-Dubs and took about a hour for delivery. After the order was placed I received a notification that it was delivered but food never made it to my house. Called there “all star” low budget foreign 3rd party service. The gentleman insisted on calling the driver and I was advised that they went to the wrong location and they will be there within 10mins. Half hour goes by and I call back and the female I spoke with called the driver again and couldn’t explain or tell me what happened with the food and just refunded me instead. Why is it that I have to call and waste hours of my time to fix an error on Grubhubs end. For being a web service platform your solutions to issues are not efficient. Sub contracting a call center to fix your problems sounds like Grubhub is too good to provide quality customer service. I hope I don’t get a respond from Grubhub on this because they are not solution driven enough to change my mind on such a simple manner.

I ordered from Grubhub while studying for an exam. The food took over an hour to be “delivered” but the food never showed up. Then I contacted customer service which took a long time to respond and than even longer to figure out that my food had been “missed.” Whatever that means. I did eventually get offered a refund but not before spending a couple of hours. Just use another delivery service instead.

Order a scheduled delivery and only received an update when I called the restaurant and they said it had been ready for an hour but no delivery driver for Grubhub showed up. When I called customer service they couldn’t give me an estimate for when I would get the food. Completely ruined my plans and ended up having to cancel the order and do everything myself.

I have never ordered from Grubhub, so I downloaded the app to take advantage of a promo code. It was for $15 min new accounts. I had a new account and it did not work. Just to test it out, I used another email address not previously linked to GH and of course THAT didn’t work either. They try to get you in by offering deals, but rescind those offers once you’re ready to pay.

I have ordered from grub hub many times, all different days and times during the week and it has NEVER been on time. Not only is it consistently late with no update to the estimated arrival time, but the food is often cold, shuffled around, or completely ruined by the time it arrives. I avoid using grub hub whenever possible.

Today I ordered from Grubhub for my second time. The first time was a few months ago from a steves crazy subs and everything was great! My order was completely right even with it being complicated and the driver seemed nice. This time we ordered from subway and I honestly wanted to leave the review on the subway shop in the app, but it said the review was “skipped” which I never skipped it... well we got our food pretty quick so the service was good, but I found a hair inside my sandwich 🤢 which has never happened before to me at any subway! The wrappers on the sandwiches and the napkins in the bag were all damp and I thought it could have been from grease but my sandwich wasn’t greasy enough for it to get all over both sandwiches and the napkins. I think it was water or something because I don’t think it was grease. I also asked for lots of olives on my sandwich because it’s the only thing I get besides the meat and I got hardly any olives on the sandwich. We also asked that the driver call us when they arrive because we have dogs that bark at everything and will try to get outside if somebody’s here and they knocked; which isn’t that big of a deal but it showed that they didn’t read ANY of my notes that I added. I guess so far Grubhub is hit or miss depending on where you’re getting food from. I don’t think I’ll be ordering from that subway again and I wish I could have left them a review in the app.

It’s just sad because the service is an amazing idea, allowing any restaurant to deliver for a small extra fee, it’s something I was so excited to try it out when it was available in my city and I could not wait to try it out. I had picked a delicious burger place near my house and I chose a burger with fries, an appetizer and a dessert. The app is so easy to use and it was so easy to put my payment info and order the food and went very smoothly. 30 minutes went by and I was wondering where the food was, it was a Tuesday so they could not possibly be that busy! I called the restaurant at 35 minutes in and they said the food had been picked up 15 minutes ago... so 15 more minutes go by and I get a phone call from the automated grub hub number and it connected me to the driver, which I think is a great idea to make things easier. I step outside to get my food which took over an hour and I get the boxes of food from him, creepy driver, not Grubhub’s fault just an odd guy. I go inside open the box for the burger and it is very cold and it was so obvious that the fries had been picked at. The dessert was missing and the appetizer also looked like it had been picked at as well. I think this service would excel if they were more careful with the drivers they chose and have more time penalties for those drivers. Overall a great service if you get the right driver.

I have used gh at least 20 times. The app is great, it always works. though it seems inconsistent from restaurant to restaurant in its menu application and usage -sometimes confusing what comes with an item. The service from grub hub employees hasn’t been bad, they tell me when there’s a problem and make it right, so I think the company seems to care (more than I can say for other food delivery services I’ve used which I won’t name here, but it starts with a U!) So I’m loyal to gh in my restaurant delivery patronage anymore. Now you just have to expect though, the restaurants sometimes have issues and cancel your order & your experience depends in large part upon the relationship between that restaurant and gh. Another factor- if you get a driver who treats your food and your time with respect, which isn’t usually a problem. The drivers usually call from the driveway, I don’t know why, most pizza places ring the bell. Sometimes the drivers forget food or spill it. hey this is going to happen if you order from gh 20 or more times. You take your chances, because you don’t want to cook so much, and you don’t want to go out into the public either. Thanks for being there most of the time gh when I’m not cookin’. And shout out to mr. gyro because he is consistently good & fast, never cancels.☮️

So today I ordered Taco Bell through Grub Hub (obviously). It was like my fourth or fifth time doing so, all of the other times were all good. But today I ordered it at 1:02pm and it usually takes less than 30 minutes for them to be at my house with my food. I noticed the time for my ETA was getting later and later, so I call and tell them what’s going on. I was super nice because accidents happen and I’m an understanding person. They tracked the driver and said I should get a call from them in the next ten minutes. Ok. I get text ten minutes later saying my food should be there around 2:17pm. Ok great. 2:30pm...still not here. I got annoyed and called again to cancel my order. All was fine, she didn’t seem very sorry but whatever. I’m probably not going to order again, just because getting my food isn’t guaranteed. The only bad part about all of this, is that I had a hungry two year old waiting for his food that never came. Of course I gave him snacks to keep him happy until his actual food came, but he needed a real meal. I couldn’t drive anywhere to get food because my baby was sleeping. Also I’m breastfeeding, so when you don’t eat for a while it messes with your milk supply. Once my baby woke up we went to DQ. Because we had a late lunch, that meant no nap, and because no nap, I couldn’t get my shower for today. So thank you grub hub for making me hungry and stinky. That is all. (I never write reviews, I honestly just want to know how this even happened.)
Overpriced and ridiculous

I ordered food from this app/service and noticed first that they charge an additional fee they don’t mention, which should’ve been my first red flag. But with a coupon on your first order, fine. It was $10 off, and yet I still paid a several dollars over my order subtotal(basically the tip). So it literally just covered the fees, which I was choosing a very close restaurant so it was the smallest delivery fee they charge. My order arrived nearly 20 minutes late and was missing THREE items. There’s not way to log a quick problem with your order like with other similar services so I had to contact their support. Who took at least 5 minutes to just “look up my order details” before even asking what I was missing. When I tell them my missing items they just say, “you’re all set! You’ll get an email for your refund. Is there anything else I can assist with?” Without telling me what the refund is or anything. The email comes and I see they only refunded me part of what was missing, for the the third item. When I asked they said it was “a free part of the order”. It wasn’t. It was part of my combo. They start to list off the prices of my combo items individually and this happened to be the “free” item in it, which is so ridiculous. It was food that was supposed to come as part of my meal, so I should’ve had something come off of the price of the combo. Needless to say, I will never use this app/service again.

Will never ever try to order through here again. Customer service is awful and they don’t know what the hell they are doing, everyone is extremely rude and plain stupid. We had a snow storm hit and saw that one of our favorite restaurants was still available for delivery through Grubhub. Yeah first mistake- waited 2 hours and decided to try to call Grubhub and let them know maybe the restaurant is closed but they assured me no no the delivery driver is 4 minutes away. Ok cool, again I knew it was a snow storm and would take longer. Another 45 minutes pass so I call back and now...NOW they are saying oh the restaurant isn’t answering the phone or email so I’m canceling your order. Sure should have told me that the first time. Oh wait it gets better....so it was my first time using Grubhub so I got the $12 off. BUT I can’t use that coupon again because technically I used it yesterday and the best they can do is give me $7 off one order and then $5 off a whole different time. I DIDN’T GET TO USE THE $12 OFF THE FIRST TIME. Oh but then I called again and the lady said I never even used a coupon but my bank still reflects the total with coupon even though I won’t get that back for 5 days. So yeah never again.

The interface of this app is so painstakingly dumb. First of all, I live in a decent sized town, it’s not a major city but there’s a ton of restaurant options. With this grubhub app, those restaurants don’t even pop up when you search by category- you have to type in the restaurant name to get it to come up. I wonder if that’s some kind of under-the-table promotional idea Grubhub has with some restaurants. It’s moronic. This brings me to my next point of restaurants not showing up when they’re not open. I could care less if a restaurant was open to browse the menu!! For me, the app is rendered useless before 8AM, I cant do anything but look at the places I’ve ordered from in the past. The main screen literally just tells you to come back later. If this app is designed to help restaurants gain business and to link customers to places they may have never known existed, Grubhub is doing a pretty pisspoor job. I mean, at least have a live tracking option. On numerous occasions, drivers have had difficulty finding my place of work. Provide a better GPS interface and hirer smarter drivers who actually read the delivery instructions. Sidenote; even the fact that their ‘Leave Feedback’ option doesn’t bring you to the app store but asks you a survey-like question in which you have to choose from 3 options, goes to show how archaic their customer service is.

My new go - to food delivery app. More affordable with excellent customer service. I have ordered now going on 11 times from them, there was an issue with 4 out of 10 times and nearly every time they contacted me to let me know and usually 3/4 compensated me for my time with coupons and discounts. I had an issue tonight where I waited an hour and 15 mins for Taco Bell. I called them to let them know, they apologized and gave me a 5$ credit towards my next meal, told me where the driver was ( the driver was on time!) and then they called me 10 mins after to make sure I’d gotten my food then told me to have a great night. It’s 10pm here in California but I’m happy that I’ve got food and extra money towards something else & felt respected, lol. Door dash, postmates and uber eats usually just say ‘oops our bad, nothing we can do’ after 2hrs of waiting; unless you really push them and sometimes they still don’t budge. Anyways I’m high eating Taco Bell at 10:30 at night and thought the world needed to know that grubhub is great. 10/10 would recommend. Their taxes and delivery fees also don’t seem as high as the other apps and they don’t up-charge much either, you usually pay close to what you expected.

Worst customer service ever. The delivery ETA for my order kept changing every time I refreshed the page. When it got to an ETA of 45 min after the original ETA I called to find out what was going on. Customer service tried pinning it on the restaurant so I sat on hold while the rep called the restaurant. 14 min later she finally admitted that my food was in fact ready but they didn't have any drivers to pickup my food and had no idea how long it would be until they found someone. She told me I could cancel my order or wait. I asked if I could go pick it up myself and be refunded for the delivery charge and tip that I paid. She said she was taking care of that while we were on the phone and confirmed it was done before I hung up. I drove to the restaurant to pickup my food and as I am pulling in the parking lot, I get a text that my food had been picked up and was on its way to me. Called customer service back to confirm and told him about my previous conversation and he blamed it on a bunch of new employees. He offered me a discount on my next order and I told him to apply the discount to this order bc I won't be using them again. And asked again that they remove the delivery charge and tip bc the previous person failed to do so. Received an email receipt and was still charged the $9 tip despite me driving to pickup my own food and have it already be picked up. Finally after my 3rd attempt the charges were removed.

I use this app maybe a couple times a month at most when I don’t feel like cooking. The app itself is easy to use but the fulfillment of orders leaves much to be desired. Most of the time it takes much longer than is advertised (e.g. delivery time 45-55min has sometimes taken 90min), food has arrived barely warm despite coming from a few blocks away, drivers don’t know how to read maps (our condo complex is a little confusing but there are maps & they don’t bother looking - I’ve been called & expected to walk out to the front of my complex which I cannot do because I have a small toddler & probably ordered food vector was inconvenient to go out in the first place, & several drivers were rude or unprofessional. That being said, there have been a couple great driver & they have comped delivery fees or given ‘free next delivery’ codes when I’ve contacted the company but I don’t appreciate having to contact them with issues the majority of the times I’ve used the service. Hopefully hey can get it together & maybe take tips from Uber eats to have ratings for drivers separate from just rating the food. I still come back because of the restaurant selection in my area but always keep my fingers crossed that it will arrive in a reasonable time frame & be relatively hot still 😑

I’ve used the app several time and the delivery of the food was on time majority of the times I’ve ordered but my experience today was awful. I ordered my food at 12:00, with the delivery ETA of 12:45. I checked the status on my app and it said my food was delivered at 12:24. I spoke with customer service via chat and they stated they spoke with the delivery driver and he was three minutes away and my food would be delivered shortly. Another 30 mins went by no food. I called the restaurant this time and they stated my food was ready and had been siting there for 45 mins. I called GrubHub customer service to see what was going on, the customer service guy apologized offered me $10 off my next order and said he would call the driver. He got back on the phone and said he attempted to call the driver multiple times but the driver turned off his phone. I was outraged, the customer seemed rep gave me two options, cancel order for a full refund or have them deliver my order that has been sitting there for an hour at this point. GruHub offered new real solutions and it was almost 2:00 by this time and I was starving!!! I deleted the app, and never downloading again!!! I’ll stick to Eat24, at least on their app, I can call the driver directly and if something like this happens they still deliver the food and provide a full refund, now that’s true customer service. I guess I’ll go make lunch now.

This app is the best however there is one major glitch. If you Open a restaurant and start to place an order and then for some reason have to do something else on your phone such as received a phone call or send a message, when you go to go back in to GrubHub your order is completely gone. It in NO WAY saves your order to you bag. This has been a large inconvenience a few times. Also it doesn't often seem to be very convenient way to add extra small things that aren't always automatic optional extras. Like if you want to add peppers to your soup ( a cheap but important add for some) and you have to message in the comment you then and hope that they add it and possibly price adjust your order. The thing that the app is outstanding. I use it constantly. Not to mention their customer service is amazing! Recently we were missing an addition to a main dish that was supposed to be together. Not only did grandpa take it upon themselves to send out the missing item they re-ordered the main dish for us so that everything could be hot and fresh together. That will ALWAYS fix problems above and beyond. That's why I will continue to always use them.

Does this app/company seriously expect to make money and compete with Ubereats running their business like this? The delivery fee is $8 even if the restaurant is literally 5 minutes away from your location ... compared to a $4.99-$6.99 delivery fee from Ubereats (which by the way the amount you pay for delivery w/Ubereats is determined by proximity). Then this app requires that you to tip BEFORE you receive your food and SERVICE.. Excuse the hell out of me but when did tipping become something that is expected rather than EARNED. This literally gives the driver no incentive to provide great service ... at all. However, with Ubereats you tip after receiving the food and service. I’ve never had a problem with Ubereats arriving within the timeframe and if the driver is running a little behind they always call and keep me updated. They always deliver to my door, unless I’m at work because it’s difficult to do since I work at a hospital and people often get lost. I ALWAYS tip and have no problem with doing so but definitely have a problem with giving a tip before services are rendered and feel like I’m being forced to do so. If the company is reading this and wants to stay in business , please take notes from Ubereats and treat your paying customers better. I didn’t even have the chance to use the app because I was so turned off. I’ll stick with the better option for now... Ubereats.

First time using and was using a gift card. When I got to checkout it did not give me the option to use the gift card. I did finally see under My Grub there was a place to enter the gift card. Did that and still would not work! Finally went to Help function and called. Had a hard time understanding the person on the other end and she didn’t seem to understand what I was trying to tell her the problem was and put me on hold. While on hold I saw there were many fields to My Grub profile that needed completion. Did all of those while on hold and tried again to check out but again no choice to use gift card. The only field I didn’t fill out was credit card payment-lol and behold once I entered that information I was able to have the option at checkout to use my gift card! Your customer service person returns to the line and I told her I figured it out and had placed my order...she still didn’t seem to understand that as well!!! Very frustrating to say the least....my suggestion is when you sign up it forces you to submit all information needed. Also was extremely disappointed in choices of restaurants as you TV ads make it seem like you have lots of choices-even before signing up it said I had 82 choices when in reality once I put my address in I had maybe 15 and several were duplicate restaurants. I surely will not recommend Grubhub to my friends.

So I used to love GrubHub and suggested it to all of my friends to download and use. Lately has been a different story. More often than not our food has taken at least an hour to get here, and I’ve had to walk outside and down the road or across the street because the drivers don’t leave their car. Now I’m understanding, so I called customer service to inform them of the issues I was having and the response I got was that they were short staffed and that it wasn’t policy to have the drivers bring the food to the door. But if I’m waiting for an hour, pay a delivery fee and tip, and then still have to go downstairs and outside down the road to get my food that’s ridiculous— what’s the point in paying for all that if they can’t even walk up to my door (and no it wasn’t raining or snowing or anything like that either). I talked to two customer service representatives and basically all I got was “I understand is there anything else I can help you with?” And felt extremely brushed off. I think we will be taking a long break from the app while they fix these issues. I’ve been using it for a long time and it’s upsetting that after having all these issues all I got from them was “oh I understand but if I can’t help you with anything else have a nice day”

I download this app about 3 days ago, all ordes were simple not complex AT ALL. My 3rd order I placed was for two meals and kids meals at Red Robin. Order was delivered but missing an ENTIRE KIDS ORDER.( missed my restaurant and driver) so I called customer service and I was told I’d have to reorder from the app to receive my food my driver cannot go back and get it. Another 45 minutes for my child to wait. They just refunded my money only for the one kids meal. Now I have to go out waste the time I didn’t want to to drive and get my child more food. I’m absolutely unsatisfied and would recommend everyone look for different apps that are similar to this one INSTEAD of this one. I was contActed and given a coupon by Grubhub so I’m trying it again, review to be changed after this experience I’m about to have. After my coupon I ordered from the same restaurant thinking it wouldn’t happen again, but it did. Now in no way is this grub hubs fault I don’t expect my delivery driver to root around in my food making sure everything is there, what I suggest is you DO NOT order from Red Robin. And grub hub I suggest you take them off your list to prevent a load of complaints in the future

I ordered from Grubhub 3 times. First time the food was delivered 15 minutes late and cold (not a big deal so I didn’t complain). Second time food was delivered late because driver “couldn’t find the entrance” despite incredibly clear instructions (still not a big deal and didn’t complain). Third time is where my problem started. Driver handed me my bag really quick and then took off. I found half my order to be missing. I called the restaurant and they said that the driver was in a hurry and had left the rest on the counter despite their efforts to tell the driver there was more. The restaurant was very polite but said grubhub handles the payments so they would have to issue the refund. I called Grubhub Customer service and the lady said they’d issue a refund for that amount (recorded on their line and mine). 4 days later, was not correct on bank statement, called and told it would be correct once charge wasn’t pending and had gone trough. Week later, charge went through and still wrong. Called and was told by customer service that since it had been a week they would not issue refund but could give me credit toward next purchase. Explained that was not going to happen, I had called the day of and was told refund, so what he was trying to do was illegal. Suddenly he was capable of refunding my amount. No further purchases will be made by me through grubhub.

The WORST. I've tried to use this app multiple times and every single time it's a total disaster. First of all, when you order for delivery it just doesn't show up. Cool, so just do pickup you might say. Wrong. You'll show up to the restaurant and they'll look at you like you have 3 heads, or try to tell you to pay at the restaurant, despite you having already paid for your food through this horrendous app. Today I reached my breaking point, though. They will lure you in with their $10 off coupons. I fell for it. Placed my order and went to check out. First it said my credit card number was invalid. Excuse me? Whatever. I try my boyfriends card. Same thing. Try my debit card. Nope. So we try on my boyfriends phone. Get the card to work, however now the coupon is invalid! "Only good on your first order" it says. This is my first order. I assume since I ATTEMPTED to place this order on my phone unsuccessfully it just went ahead and invalidated my coupon anyway. I don't know. All I know is you're better off just going to a drive thru and keeping your sanity. This app will break even the strongest minds. Stay away, save yourself. You will be left hungry and livid, you'll probably say some things you don't mean and destroy relationships with the ones you love most. Before downloading this nightmare just ask yourself, is it worth it?
No discount when you refer people

I’ve used this app countless times and I actually like using it more than the other apps out there. My one issue is that I’ve referred at least 3-4 people this year alone to use this app, which they have with the assumptions that I would receive the $10 discount as stated on their website. When they ordered, I’ve noticed that I never actually received the discount. To watch this closely, I referred someone in October while they were visiting for the weekend, I saw them use the link to order and for some reason I did not receive the discount again. I assumed that there was something wrong with my email but how could that be? I’ve used it a few times to order food and I had no issues doing so, I’m not sure if I’m the only one having this issue but that’s what I’ve noticed recently. Otherwise, it’s great, I will keep ordering from them because I have no issues paying for my meals but going forward I won’t assume that Grubhub will provide me with the discount as stated on their platform when I invite friends or maybe I should no longer refer people. I’ve contacted Grubhub btw, and provided the emails used and they weren’t able to assist. My two cents ✌🏾 Peace!
first experience and its terrible

i dont write bad reviews or complain ever but this was wild. i placed my order at 3:31 for chick fil a. drink sandwich and fries. it estimated the time at 4:05-4:15. 4:25 rolls around, i call just to make sure they got my order. the employee told me that the driver had just gotten there...which i was annoyed by but i was like maybe theres traffic its fine. another 20 minutes goes by and he still isnt here. FINALLY at 5:10 he gets here. my food is cold, and he didnt bring me my drink that i ordered. i called chick fil a but they said that its grubhub that i needed to contact so i did. the man i spoke to was not very considerate or polite. i couldnt understand his name but he sounded as though he was reading from a script. i am sick at home right now which is why i wanted delivery. there was nothing sincere in the apology he gave me. i explained how long i waited, that this was my first experience using their service, that part of my order was missing and that my food was cold. he said he could refund me for the drink and give me a ten dollar credit for grub hub. i was not happy with that either. i believe i should have been given a full refund. i payed an extra 5 dollars for delivery and tip. im extremely dissatisfied. ill use the ten dollar credit but unless someone contacts me and sincerely apologizes and gives me a full refund, i wont be using this app again. this was unacceptable
WORST DELIVERY APP OF ALL TIME

I’ve never written a review for an app but after having such a horrible experience with them several times I should add I felt absolutely compelled to write a review. This is the second time I order from them that they claim to have delivered my food and it never gets delivered, the first time it happened they just apologized and said my money wouldn’t be refunded until 2-3 business days and at the time it was the only money I had to order food with so I got left without money and food. The first two times I’ve had an issue with Grubhub customer service just apologized and offered a measly $10 off my next order. This time they said they wouldn’t refund me my full amount because the driver attempted to deliver the food and attempted to call me which is not true I never received a phone call from him not even from my call box at my apartment which he claimed to be at..ok furthermore I attempted contacting the driver 2 times after speaking directly with the restaurant and the restaurant attempted to call him as well and he never answered it wasn’t until grubhub directly contacted him that he answered. Then grubhub refuses to refund me my full amount?! For never delivered food? The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard wasted 30 more minutes of my time arguing with them about it and now it’s too late to order delivery from any other restaurant 🙃

This app is a great concept with many flaws. I’ve used grub hub MANY times and more times had issues than received my food long after I placed my order than receiving it in a convenient amount of time. Every time I press that place order button I find myself hoping that another issue isn’t going to come up where an hour to an hour and a half later I’m not going to have to call in and find out what’s going on. I can’t say not to use the app, because yea you will get your food and customer service is great, but don’t rely on it to get your food any faster than it would take you to just walk up the block and grab a quick bite. At the very least, I do have to give it to Grubhub for finding me hidden gems among the usual places I go to eat, but rather than coming back to use the app again I find myself walking to to place myself to get some food after. It’s hard to love this app when I always get my food once I’m so hungry that I’m almost willing to call the $30-35 for ONE MEAL thanks to feed and forced tips a loss and walk up the block and grab a quick sandwich or something.

This was my first time using this app, I usually order thru Uber eats but I didn’t have the app on my new phone so I decided to try something new and use this app. However I am not happy. It took way longer to get my food, by the time my food actually got here it was cold (obviously I ordered hot food) my food was a few minutes late (not a big deal but Uber eats is always on time) and I got the wrong food, I had to pay EXTRA for my food items so I’m obviously not happy getting the wrong food. I do the chat thing and talk to someone about it which took FOREVER (when using Uber eats I’ve always gotten very quick responses and my issues were always handled promptly and quickly) and in the end I’m sitting here with the wrong food it’s cold I can’t enjoy it it’s my first time ordering and no offer to fix my food just a refund that hasn’t shown up in my account and told to reorder the food again. WHY WOULD I WANT TO REORDER WHEN THEY MESSED IT UP THE FIRST TIME AND IT TOOK SO LONG. I am not willing to pay $30 to get the right food, and wait for half of it to be refunded if it does at all. I probably won’t use this app if something isn’t fixed or handled better, I would not recommend this to ANYONE. I have taken screen shots of the whole ordeal just Incase anyone would like some visual of just how poorly this whole fiasco went. 😭👎👎👎

I ordered panda express to deliver to my work we have a close the gate where the GPS will take the driver to they have to call in a driver did call and I gave simple instructions to the driver but every driver is always not speak English I speak English I’m not that good at Spanish yet or whatever country you’re from I want what’s my food and it turns out I had a meeting driver named Ali I told him samples instructions he would not listen to me He yelled at me and said I am not turning around to follow your GPS blah blah blah blah you need to come to the gate or not giving you food because I don’t speak English if you’re got to drive in America you must speak English that is the requirement GrubHub is the worst service ever for me I have to use this app because some of the stores or restaurants don’t deliver with the app I use and November 4 I had a SUBWAY® order that was been canceled and he said they will send the money back within 3 to 5 business days what turns out it is not in my account when I got the canceled from panda express he had to call the management I asked the number he refused I do not waste my money to GrubHub and have their employees eat my food I can I get good quality customer service at all take it delivered to my work address GrubHub you were the worst customer service ever what’s your staff
Delayed delivery with no updates

So I normally haven’t had any problems with this app in the past, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1, id probably give it 2 1/2 stars if we could do halves, but recently (within the last couple months or so) I’ve had an issue with getting my order on time. I get an estimated wait of 30-40 minutes, ok cool, and it gives me and estimated time of when I should receive my order but when it’s been 30, 45, 60 minutes since that supposed delivery time and I haven’t gotten my food yet, yea that’s a problem. Of course I call customer service and they contact the driver and within 15-20 minutes I get my order, but that’s just ridiculous. Like I don’t know if it’s my phone or if the app is just crappy and crashes/freezes all the time but this is the 3rd time this has happened with grub hub and it’s getting kind of annoying...like update the app to where we get updates for whatever is going on. Have never had any issue with Uber eats, so maybe redesign this to where it’s something similar to Uber eats cause there’s a live gps location so you can see where your driver is and how close they are. Nothing wrong with the food I’ve ordered, just the communication between driver/restaurant and customer.
A bit of a time saver

I probably use this app more than I should. being able to reorder prior orders is a time saver, as is not tying up a restaurant's busy phone lines. Couple of things I wish the app did a little better: 1) if you order enough times (or don't order after a certain amount of time), you'll get an email from grubhub with discount codes. These are great but are always very time limited AND you have to copy and paste from the email. These discount codes should already be available in app (and maybe last a little longer) 2) there are restaurants that don't show up in my app due to geography, but that do participate in grubhub. If I call on phone, they'll deliver to me. Would like a way to try and expand the geographic filter slightly to get those restaurants 3) wish there was a clear way to make recommendations to the restaurants in app to make tweaks to their menu. For example one of my restaurants has Brand X as a drink option in restaurant but not listed in grubhub. Instead I order Brand Y in app but write in Brand X in the comments. I've done this for over a year so surprised not picked up or changed by now.

Listen, I think I’m about done using Grubhub. There is absolutely no communication on the status of an order outside the inaccurate tracker within the app. Multiple times I’ve had an order not delivered within the expected time and I’ve had to call the care team to inform them that I still haven’t received my order. Most recently I called and was told that no driver had accepted my order to pick up yet from the restaurant, basically telling me that I have to continue to wait until someone accepts it to pick it up. And this is after I already waited an hour over the expected time of delivery. How about not allowing the order to go through and taking money from me until a driver accepts the pick up. Also how do you guys expect me to know that my order hasn’t been picked up yet because a driver refuses to accept it unless I called in? All you guys do is offer me a 10 dollar promotion every time. Meanwhile apps like ubereats and door dash give me both a visual and notify me that a driver has picked up my order. Then when I get the order, the food is cold. It’s really not worth the trouble and all the extra fees charged for a service that is always late. So as a long time Grubhub user you’ve guys have pushed me far enough and I’ll continue to use ubereats who actually bring me my food on time.

I ordered on Grubhub for the first time and was stoked with how easy it was. Right around the expected delivery time, I get a call from the driver saying that he was driving from 40 min away to come pick up and deliver my order and explained to me that other drivers had passed my order up because I hadn’t left a tip - he would deliver my order for no tip, but of course it would be appreciated. This seems like a poor app layout & business plan here. On the tip screen, it does not indicate if the tip is for the driver or the restaurant. If it is for the driver, having a confirmation screen after the order is marked as delivered to say that I received the order and it was correct, with an option for a tip would make much more sense. Something similar to Lyft for rating/tipping. Tipping in advance makes no sense. Also, I’m not sure how the drivers are paid, but it seems like it could use revising if it is not enough to have them accept order. (And this was a short drive, on a Friday night, in an urban area. Should be wicked easy to accept and move to the next order.) Would love to use this app again, but this issue with the tipping/driver not accepting orders makes me very hesitant to do so.

We use the app at least weekly. It has really spoiled me and the Mrs. The app has been improving since they started developing. It is very easy to use and they have made it convenient to having different payment options. We have never had any real problems with the restaurants we order from with the exception of one order from one of our favorite go-to’s, that is about 2 miles away, being an hour after their expected arrival time, they usually have it to our door in 20-45 minutes. Our concern was that the driver may be making a bunch deliveries with our food onboard and that it might not be fresh (sushi) by the time it arrived. We used the app to make an inquiry and Grubhub’s support called us within 2 minutes of my submission and then contacted the restaurant on our behalf to see what was up. Needless to say the food arrived maybe 10 minutes later and was otherwise perfect. So you can see per our experience that using the app is spoiling me. I’ve tried eat24 and UberEATS with consistently bad experiences. And we enjoy the deals they send to me via email like 20% off so forth.

Used Grubhub three times already. First time, order was delayed, but food arrived warm as ordered. Unfortunately one of the items on the menu was listed as vegan/vegetarian and later found out it was not - so that is a menu issue on the restaurant’s side. Second time ordered, food on time and warm, but the menu was not up to date so combos arrived with completely different sides. Third time ordered, food arrived warm and on time, special instructions were given (sauce on side) which were followed, but unfortunately- an entire meal combo was missing. It is a hassle to refund and reorder because of the wait time for the refund and adding the food prep and delivery all over again (if you experience this, might just consider a straight refund). It is a good concept, just not sure how they could fix issues with outdated menus or orders being correct. Maybe a fix like Instacart - where you can see when things are being added to cart as they happen in real time and the shopper/driver can text you about problems like substitutes, but that would be something on the restaurant’s end.

Maybe we were just lucky to live in small neighborhoods that also had great restaurant selections that offered delivery. A few times menu items that were still offered dropped off of GrubHub and we opted to call the restaurant instead for delivery, but this was after we'd been introduced by GB and had found a favorite through the app. Biggest pet peeve - sometimes restaurants that are closed certain days of the week will appear as available to order from. Will say that every time we had a problem GH customer service was great and we've never lost money, just a few meals we were excited for and then it was too late to try ordering from somewhere else. Are you an introvert foodie who hates to be surrounded by strangers while you eat, but wants something besides pizza or Chinese delivered to your doorstep while you wear pjs? We have discovered some great hidden gems and all without having to leave our safe little bunker (hey, we've got jobs that require our full energy and attention. Delivery is for unwinding in peace at home).
Horrible customer service

I ordered food from a restaurant and the original estimate was 30-40 minutes. Every time I checked on the status it kept adding time to when the food would actually be delivered. I contacted customer service and talked to Nick who told me he was so sorry I needed to check on the details of my order. Two hours after ordering and 10 minutes of waiting for Nick to respond, the driver shows up. He tells us there was an issue with the app and no driver had been dispatched. So we got our food late and ice cold. Nick then tells me he'll refund me the tip, so taking money away from the driver who did nothing wrong. What a joke. I deleted the app and will never use them again. When using these apps try to understand it's not the restaurant or the driver who did a bad job, it's a huge company that doesn't care about customer service at all. As an update to Grubhub's response - I did contact customer service, several months ago when I had the issue. Your customer service line was where I had the terrible service. Instead of owning up that there was an error in the app you tried to blame the driver and take money away from them. That is why I will never use this service again. Please read reviews next time before commenting.

I love food delivery services and am a frequent user of Uber Eats as its super convenient, has a wide selection and is decently quick. I finally decided to give Grubhub a try and had three restaurants to choose from: Taco Bell, Taco Bell and (you guessed it) Taco Bell. Not a problem as I do occasionally like me some soft tacos and crunch wrap supreme. I placed the order and patiently waited checking the app every so often to see if the food had been picked up yet. Alarmingly the estimated delivery time kept on getting pushed back until I saw the dreaded words “CANCELLED”. I shortly thereafter received a call from Grubhub letting me know that they were unable to get a driver, apologized and offered to give me $25 credit. I was pretty disappointed but I appreciated them trying to make thing s right. About a month later I decided to give Grubhub another try, still being a little leery about trying it again, but hey I had $25! When I finally go to check out I notice that there is no credit applied to my account. I start a chat with their support for them to tell me that my gift card had just expired days before and there was nothing they could do. This whole Grubhub experience has been a roller coaster ride ending in disappointment and empty stomachs. Ya’ll been warned!

I ordered my food around 9pm, the app told me to expect my food to arrive between 9:40pm and 9:50pm. At 10pm I decide to call the restaurant just to make sure that my order is on its way, or at least being made. They informed me that they were having a problem with GrubHub, their orders were not received, then they were, but GrubHub never showed up. The man on the phone told me that I needed to call GrubHub and speak with them. Meanwhile, GrubHub has yet to contact me, not by phone, or through the app. So I call GrubHub and speak to a gentleman, who placed me on hold for a very long time, as he was going to call the restaurant and figure out the problem. When we finally returned he doesn’t have any answers, and ask me if I see want my order? I’m like seriously? I’m like what were you doing for the past 4 mins when you placed me on hold? I decided that maybe a “chat” would be a better form of communication. I believe Amanda finally told me that my food is actually going to be made. I’ve waited for nearly two hours for some food, after skipping lunch today, and working 9 hours, and I still don’t have any food! Unbelievable. If your app is designed to ruins people nights well mission accomplished. Thank you, but no Thank you, you lost a customer.

I’ve used GrubHub few times and something went wrong every single time. The inability of contacting your driver makes everything extremely difficult when you live in an apartment complex. Last time I ordered trough GrubHub I waited for my food 30 minutes past the delivery time and my order was marked as “delivered”, called the customer service and they told me the driver couldn’t access the front door and left the food outside on the stairwell, I went out looking for the bag everywhere for 40 minutes and it was nowhere to be found, the security of my condo found the bag abandoned on the emergency stairwell of another building the morning after. I had to go find a place to eat at 11 PM in a city where pretty much everything closes by that time and I was offered $5 discount on my next purchase that never happened because I’ll be damned if I ever order from them again. I forgot to mention the small detail that I had to go look for my food walking with crutches due to a foot surgery I’ve just had, reason why I paid for my food to be delivered in the first place. Uber Eats has higher delivery fees but at least the service is guaranteed to be delivered at your door and you can physically talk with whoever is bringing you your order.

If you want the short version then yea.... use Uber eats to order your food... My experience with Grubhub can only be described as catastrophic. I have used it multiple times and every single time something has went wrong. The delivery time is CRIMINALLY slow and in my personal experience it has never stuck to the original estimated time. Sure being delayed by 10-15 minutes is fine, hell even 20-25 minutes I’d live with; however my delivery time kept getting delayed until it was 2 hours since the initial order was put. I could have went to the place and picked it up myself in less than that time ! I even called the restaurant to see if my order was picked up and they said it was waiting there for 55 minutes!😭🤦‍♂️. The only reason I am giving them two stars and not one is because their customer service was functional and I got a full refund along with a 25 dollar discount on my next purchase. However I won’t be using that on my next purchase because there won’t be another one. Now save yourself some time and either go to the restaurant yourself or use Uber eats. Uber Eats isn’t perfect but it still is better than this crap !

We’ve been in Los Angeles for almost 6 months, and have used this app a lot—average of once a week or so. So far we’ve only had one order where we didn’t get what we paid for, but that was the fault of the restaurant, not GrubHub. The restaurant manager said he would contact Grubhub for a refund for the missing item, but to my knowledge, we’ve never been credited. I chalk it up to being the same as getting the wrong toppings on your pizza or something similar—just human error. I love that I can order, cover the tip, and get notifications for delivery times! (which are always accurate, or even early) Coming from a rural area where delivery is limited, we feel like this app is almost magical! 😂😂😂 The only real complaint I would have, is that delivery fees are often different once you actually click on the restaurant. For instance it might say, “$2.99 delivery fee” but when you click on the restaurant the fee might be $6.99, so you have to pay attention. Other than that, we love it!

I will never order from any restaurant that uses Grubhub as delivery. A group of teachers ordered from Taco Bell and left a note in the memo stating that the delivery person needed an ID to get in the school. You would think that wouldn’t have been a problem since you need a driver’s license to drive a car to make deliveries. We ordered two hours before we needed the food because as teachers we only have a few extra minutes to make any orders. We have a half hour to eat before we have recess duty. I went to the front office to pick up our food, and it was not there. Someone tried to deliver the food an hour before we needed it but did not have a driver’s license, so she left. She didn’t even tell the front office she was delivering food to teachers because they would have gone out to get it. We called Grubhub who said they couldn’t do anything, couldn’t make a delivery, and fought with me to get reimbursed for the food we didn’t get. I don’t know what their delivery person did with $50 worth of Taco Bell food, but six teachers did not get lunch from Grubhub on that day. I spent my whole lunch time fighting with customer service to get reimbursed. After this review, I am deleting the app and never using the service again.

Our busy family would love it if this worked smoothly, but our orders are frequently wrong or incomplete. We keep trying it out because we would love to have dinner just appear, but tonight was the last straw. In the past it has been an appetizer missing or the wrong sauce or no drinks. Inconveniences, but we call customer service with the missing appetizer and it gets refunded. We’ve lost money because it seems like too much of a hassle to call customer service and deal with their long wait times and not native English-speaking customer service reps for a missing beverage or the wrong salad dressing or something, but tonight we had our children’s entire dinner missing. We called hoping that the driver could run their food back to us. Instead they refunded the money and apologized, so we end up having to figure out what to feed the kids anyway, on a night when we were short on time and options, which is why we decided to have dinner delivered in the first place. With so many different restaurants and drivers, there are too many moving parts for Grubhub to be able to ensure any kind of consistency, accuracy, or quality.

So today I ordered from Burger King through the grub hub app. The app automatically chose the location to place the order with and to my surprise 40 minutes after placing the order and the food still had not been picked up the app chose the location that was the farthest away from home. There is a store that .62 miles away. But it chose a store that was 2.9 miles away. Hmm why would the app choose the farthest one in my area and not the closest one? Waste of time. So I called customer service and mentioned this and they said sorry wait for your food that has been made 45 minutes waiting to be picked up to get to you to see if the freshness is okay for you #%?&@$ seriously how can you say that to a customer? It’s been sitting for 45 minutes it’s not fresh anything at this point and the customer service guy said food is guaranteed by 10am and I tried to explain the distance to this location that there was no way the food would be here by 10am... sure enough not here at 10am as a matter of fact the app just updated that food won’t be here till 10:25 am which is an hour and about ten minutes after I ordered it and an hour and five minutes since the store made it! HORRIBLE

I just can’t believe this company. I’m waiting to watch them be sued left and right for the business that they’re running. I’ve ordered a lot from grubhub and often my orders are late and a huge hassle when it comes to dealing with the drivers. A very frequent issue is that The drivers make it my job to find them when the service I ordered was a delivery not hide and seek. It is the delivery drivers job to know where they are delivering the food and making it hassle free for the customer. That’s the whole point to a delivery! Another major issue is how they handle refunds. This company will offer credit instead of a refund that expires in 3 months. This is where the company can be honestly sued. They didn’t allow the refund on my CC and forced me to take credit. After 3 months the credit was gone. When I asked why the rep responded with I should have asked for a refund on my CC.... which I did and they didn’t allow me to do. So basically they stole my money for a service that wasn’t performed. I just gave them money to screw up an order and never deliver it. It’s infuriating. Don’t give these people your money! Grubhub I hope you go down or rework the ethics and values of your business.

Let me start this by saying the customer service reps are the worst I have ever had to deal with ever in my whole life. There has been a lot of times where I have had to call in and had to either get a refund or whole items were missing from my orders MULTIPLE times! This is by far frustrating to me, and is down right stealing at times! However, besides the horrid customer service department that just needs to be ushered out and replaced all together because they basically stole my money and didn’t give me it back. The app itself doesn’t always work right and the drivers are kind of rude as well and the food won’t be hot by any means, and like I said before there is a chance the drivers will not check your order to make sure everything is there and just flat out leave things at the restaurant and won’t go back to get your full order! It’s kind of useless as a service. I work night shifts so this is appreciated when it works right and all the food and drink arrives that has been ordered! Again, if you are thinking of downloading this be careful the drivers might just throw your food at you or leave the food at the restaurants.

Grub Hub recently acquired Order Up (Baltimore area) and, unfortunately, I am disappointed. The Order Up app was definitely more user friendly. Many of the restaurants that I would frequently order from no longer will deliver to my house under Grub Hub. I never considered Uber Eats but looks like I will have to check them out. Hopefully, they will be a better alternative. ***UPDATE: I had continued using this service after my initial review. Still wasn’t my favorite but it did the job until last night. The food I had ordered and paid for never arrived. I had called the restaurant who had confirmed my order and said that it was ready but had been waiting for pick up. I tried called customer service but it wasn’t working. After two rings the call would drop. The online chat wasn’t available. Apparently “too many chatter.” I’ve read other horrendous reviews and this company doesn’t like to give full refunds or even refunds for that matter. I emailed this morning asking for a refund so I’m curious to see their response. I’m probably not going to even bother and just take this up with my bank. Bye bye Grub Hub. Hope you a**holes go out of business .

The app puts all the blame on restaurants. When I was waiting for food and the delivery time was extended again I called the restaurant who said the food was put in within a couple minutes of receiving the order, but no driver had arrived. They said they had actually called Grubhub to report the food sitting there for almost an hour. Grubhub said they would call me, but i received no call from them. I then had to call Grubhub and they said they would get a driver out ASAP. The restaurant remade the food since it was waiting. I had no way to rate my experience with the delivery driver or Grubhub’s dispatch issues. I don’t like how it put the blame on the restaurant, when they had done everything and were very kind about it. I also experienced another time where the driver picked up the food and it was the wrong order. I had to reorder the food to get a new order despite the driver and restaurant miscommunication over the name of the order?! Apparently both thought they had said the same name but they didn’t. WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM GRUBHUB. If there was a better delivery food service in my area I would use it. I always call the restaurant directly if they offer delivery themselves.

I’m not normally one to write a review but this time I am. It was my first time using grub hub as a delivery service. We placed our order and the restaurant made the food...after an hour of waiting with no update and it was a half hour past the expected delivery time. We called the restaurant and they told us our driver didn’t show up. They advised us to call grub hub for a refund. We called grub hub and the woman on the phone refused to give us a refund for our order. Instead she told us a driver had never been assigned to our order and that she would send a driver to to get it. We told her that was unacceptable because our food was sitting out for over an hour at the restaurant and was most likely cold. She promised to call the restaurant to check the quality of our order before dispatching the driver. We hung up the phone and got a notification that our order had been cancelled and we would get a refund in 3-5 business days (which is a totally different solution then the one we had just come to on the phone). We accepted that since it was what we originally wanted and instead called the restaurant and ordered carry out. But overall, not a good experience and I won’t be using grub hub again.

If I could give negative stars I would. Placed an order for Chinese food for pick up stix with a promise of it being delivered in 25-30 minutes. Here it is an HOUR AND FOURTY FIVE MINUTES later and still no food and this is the second time calling them. The first call said “I contacted the driver and she said she will be there in 5-10 minutes at the most.” Ok..... 25 minutes later and I call again to be told “the food is actually still sitting at the restaurant and the driver is being reassigned and we don’t have an available driver for your order. But we will call you when a driver become available to let you know your food is on its way and offer you a $10 promotion credit to put towards your next order?!?!?! So for all I know a driver never becomes available and we never get the food that we paid for.... You think I’m going to order from you again???? That’s cute.... I’ve now been on the phone with them for over half an hour with nothing solved. Meanwhile, it’s way past time for my kids to eat dinner. They’ve been sitting here asking me where their food is and telling me they are hungry. DO NOT USE GRUBHUB. Half the customer service workers can’t even speak proper English to communicate effectively.

I order my food nov29-18 and was waiting over an hour and a half. The wait was soo long that the restaurant called and asked if anyone was coming to get the food because they were closed. They stayed after their closing time waiting for someone to get the food; so i called grub hub and said where’s my food and the kept making excuses like the driver isn’t answering the phone, we’re gonna find a new driver. So at this point im irritated, and they gave me a coupon lol like i was really gonna use that trash app again. So i called the restaurant back and just told them to go home and apologized. So i called grub hub and told them to just cancel my order and give me my money back. So they canceled it and 5 minutes later it says my order was delivered and hour ago which was a lie. Grub hub is a SCAM they take hours to attempt to deliver your food, then ends up getting canceled. Btw i never got my refund money that was supposed to come in 3-5 days after the incident. They said to talk to my bank, which i did and they never gave me my money back. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UBEREATS & DOORDASH WILL BE THE ONLY DELIVERY SERVICE THAT WILL GET MY MONEY. THEY’RE PROFESSIONAL AND YOU CAN ACTUALLY CONTACT THE DRIVER. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY ON THIS SCAM

I'm sorry to say this, but there is a lot of unreliability with this company. I'm not sure if it's the drivers or the company itself, but today I had to wait 2 hours and counting to receive my food because my delivery driver had problems with his car. Normally, I would totally understand. However, this is probably the third time in a row that my order was so incredibly delayed and it's always the same or a similar excuse. Either the driver's car broke down, or the restaurant ran out of food. We need more creative excuses here people! Or better yet--no excuses. They also told me he was stuck in traffic after picking up my order...the restaurant is 3 blocks away from my place. There is NO traffic. Even though they provide discount codes, it's not worth it because you still have to order from Grubhub to use them, and each time my order is over an hour delayed. At this point, Grubhub should be offering some kind of promotional credit to our cards--not for more bad service. Either amend your business practices, or hire better and more reliable delivery drivers. Highly dissatisfied with my experience, and it gets worse every time. Also thanks for the 2.5 hour old, cold food!!

Couldn’t have been more dissatisfied with my recent Grubhub experience! The restaurant called an hour after I placed my order and informed me that my order was ready but no driver had been assigned. I placed a call to Grubhub and after an over ten minute hold I was told a driver was located and assigned and my order would be there in fifteen minutes. After twenty minutes and still no delivery I placed another call to Grubhub, was placed on yet another over ten minute hold and was then hung up on. I called back waited another five minutes on hold and was told they could not find a driver, this was after informing there was a driver assigned in the previous phone call. At this point I demanded to speak with a supervisor, I was repeatedly refused a transfer to a supervisor and was told my order would arrive in thirty minutes after the delivery of another order. After waiting 45 minutes, I received an email stating my order was canceled by Grubhub. All total I waited for over three hours! Completely ridiculous! Would not recommend this service if you plan on eating anytime soon or at all! Giving a no star rating was not an available option. I hate I was forced to give one star.
