SCAM ALERT!!!! Buyer beware
by gbarr009 on 2021/03/20 16:34
I signed up for Boingo while I was working at an airport to take advantage of the wifi in the facility. The service was fine until I left my job at the airport and tried to cancel my subscription. After submitting two requests to cancel my service they did not and continued to charge me. This type of practice is predatory to squeeze additional dollars out of individuals who sign up for their service. I highly suggest finding a different service if you’re looking for remote wifi.
Waste of money!

Not worth it.
by this company does bot care on 2020/04/22 22:25
I had to install the app then uninstall it because its so hard to see myself using Boingo in the near future, and my review needs to be seen by those considering subscribing to this “company” the only reason im still using them is for work purposes. DO NOT pay boingo anything, it’s practically a scam, you’re paying monthly for an “internet provider” that will not give you anything but disconnections or any other interrupted services, along with paying too much from what they ask. Boingo does not care for its customers or even care to improve their services. I’ve been on the phone with customer service multiple times all to just help me with my bad internet connection, TEMPORARILY, with everything shutting down the next hour. Truly not worth the price. Please do not pay them anything or you can be a very dissatisfied customer.
Not free any more. $15 a month! What a joke

Happy but annoyed
by _RcoSve-_ on 2019/12/14 06:12
I live in NYC. The app is great as far as always being able to find networks while I’m on the go. My one complaint is that I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall at least 10 times within 2 months as the app stops working and gives an “invalid password” error message. This needs to be fixed. I will hold that 5th star for ransom until I receive a fix and a holiday assortment gift basket.
Consider this spyware
by bferrara17 on 2019/12/06 22:46
I tried. And tried. And tried to connect to “boingo” networks. Airports, hotels, city - no luck. And more so, it will basically prevent you from logging into non-Boingo networks by trying to seek credentials through boingo. I tried this app many years ago, retried now, and still the same. It will make accessing any WiFi network 10x harder than simply using the WiFi network login page. Avoid at all costs. Will try again in 5 years or hopefully something better comes along..

Cannot select preferred connection methods
by Razr7 on 2019/09/10 21:20
As many have stated here before, having the app on the phone creates many connection woes. For instance it will try to connect you to to a hotel network and never actually connect you without giving an indication of an issue. Once you realize the app is the problem, it is supposed to give you an option to forget the network for a period of time but I have found this option presents itself about a third of the time. If you accidentally hit the wrong option, you never get the pop-up back. There needs to be a hard setting where these features can be turned off. The current only way to make this happen is to delete the app from the device.
Terrible. Don’t use even if you can. Delete it
by Taylorm98 on 2019/09/02 19:10
Terrible app we have tried all over the world vis-a-vie our Hilton Amex providing this “benefit”. It rarely works and many times with Hilton hotels actually inhibits wifi so we are deleting and not recommending anyone use this worthless app.

Hijacks Public WiFi Authentication
by RB Cantabrigian on 2019/08/05 23:11
I was unable to connect to hotel or airline WiFi because the Boingo app prevents the iPhone from displaying the portal authentication page. I first tried to reset network settings without success. Finally uninstalling this app allowed me to connect properly.

You won’t be able to connect to many networks when this app is on your phone
by Aaaaaaa000000 on 2019/07/02 02:45
You won’t be able to connect to many networks when this app is on your iPhone X. Your phone will show you are connected to the public WiFi network when you go to settings. But the WiFi sign will not show on the top right hand corner. And you won’t have internet access. The solution: delete the Bingo app from your phone, and you’ll be able to connect right away. :) So yeah, this app deserves ZERO stars. It does the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do.

by BizTraveker603 on 2019/06/01 18:55
Too many times now I’ve been blocked from hotel wi-fi because this app is interfering in the background. Latest update kept spooling until it nearly drained my battery. Use this app as a last resort and turn it off otherwise! App user beware.
Sketchy service
by Birdoggie on 2019/05/22 16:18
I paid for this service to sit in an airport and download a movie from iTunes. The speed test promised me that I was getting 95mbps, but in reality most connections were throttled. I understand that networking is complex and there are many potential bottlenecks but I used several proxies with a variety of locations to perform my own speed tests and noticed that I was only ever getting 0.8-1.8mbps. Being that iTunes is a major content distributor I don’t see why you would want to throttle it, unless it’s to promote your own services like boingo tv. This seems pretty unreasonable to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Unusable
by .tjinks on 2019/05/11 04:10
I can't connect to the hotel WiFi where I'm currently staying without using the app. I get disconnected after 5 - 10 minutes connection time forcing me to connect again using the app. Uninstalled the app and everything is normal now. Also the suggestion I got from support didn't apply to the version of the app on my iPhone 10s Max.
Battery killer - updated
by Cadel Lowe on 2019/05/10 13:43
iOS has a great feature to see what apps are constantly running - this one was so bad that it only let my phone charge to 80% as it was constantly running overnight in my house. Why does this app need to run in the background at all? When I need it, I’ll load it. Waste of time when you’ve already put the Boingo config profile on your phone. Added May 10 - the app is the latest version. I have a screen shot of battery and app usage for the day I deleted this app. Before 4 am, race condition, 60 minutes of background usage every hour. After 4am, almost no background usage. So yea, current version. Review stands.

Crap app
by Thisgirl702 on 2019/04/18 00:05

Corrupts your whole iPhone
by andrewtylerwind on 2019/04/15 18:39
iOS users be warned: I spent 11 months wondering why my iPhone wouldn’t load captive portal screens, thus preventing me from using dozens (hundreds?) of free WiFi locations around the world. Apple Geniuses had no idea what the problem was, nor did anyone on the Apple message boards. Then one random user with the same issue said deleting the Boingo app would fix the issue, so I did. Everything works properly now. This app is garbage from a garbage company that monetizes WIFi in places like airports where Internet should simply be free. Boingo extorts money from people when they’re often desperate to get online, and that’s just a fact. It’s been screwing me for months and I’m done. I hope the company fails.

Removed because Boingo never really found and auto connected to any networks, ever but more so it breaks Captive login. Uninstalled. Glad I don’t pay for my premium access. (Mine was included with something else) Don’t waste your time or your money.
Poor application.
by Kr Sat on 2019/03/20 03:42
I travelled to India from New York JFK airport via Abu Dhabi past week. boingo was almost of no use, even when there was free wifi at airports it would not find a signal. If I connected manually using my phone’s settings then bio go would happily report that I was connected. Other times, like in April 2018 and January 2019 when I made a similar trip, I would even get a message “ no internet is available on this device” . No kidding I did not have internet, what I was trying to do with the bio go app is to get internet. All in all not a very useful app - perhaps someone can tell me how much I should expect from this app. Thankfully I am not paying for this service because based on my experience over the past year, I would never pay for this. Frankly airports now have free wifi and this app is of less relevance now that it may have bee sometime back. If someone from boingo reviews my usage logs please note that at any time you see internet is because I connected using alternate means and then boingo figured it out and claimed success.
Prevents login to hotel Wi-Fi
by jwilli01 on 2019/03/11 12:28
Trouble is, ISS a hotel Wi-Fi is recognized by boingo as an available hotspot, the boingo pop up prevents the hotel login screen from opening. Struggled with this over three trips before I figured it out. No obvious way to disable auto login attempts in the app settings. So the app is deleted until this is fixed.
Nightmate
by Lapulgaluterana on 2019/03/10 09:47
Terrible. I installed this app and the only thing it proved able to do was to screw up every Wi-Fi connection in every hotel and every airport in Asia!!! what a nightmare !!! Hours of frustrating work configuring my phone over and over again trying to figure out why it wasn’t connecting to my free Wi-Fi signals ...finally somebody told me that Boingo App was the problem ...I deleted the app and Bingo ! my phone started working just fine again and picking up all WIFI signals everywhere. Lesson learned.
Prevents WiFi connections
by Studlybmecoop on 2019/03/04 19:43
I couldn’t figure out why I was connected to the WiFi at my hotel on my iPhone, but the phone was refusing to actually use the WiFi connection. A quick search revealed that this app actually prevents you from connecting to certain WiFi access points! Deleted the app and now I can connect just fine. This app is worse than useless, it is actually detrimental to your phone even when you’re not using it!

Prevents hotel WiFi landing pages from opening
by jcbd7 on 2019/02/21 14:53
The title says it all, this issue had been dogging me for over a year, I finally figured out that the app wasn’t letting the landing page load. Deleted the app, now it works like a charm. I love being able to connect to hotspots at airports transparently, but I spend more time at hotels, so it’s staying uninstalled until they fix this.
Bug! It loops to WiFi settings when checking for WiFi

Don’t load this virus onto your phone
by Annoyed Ang Moh on 2019/02/11 06:21
Worse than garbage. It straight up doesn’t connect to ANY wi-fi . Does not work as advertised. Ever. Even worse, it intercepts legitimate attempts to connect to wi-fi and makes it impossible to log into the welcome screens in public places. So it both doesn’t work and interferes with normal operations. Just smash a big rock into your forehead until you pass out and bleed all over yourself. It’ll be more productive and more fun.
No longer opens WiFi settings
by Favorite Game But Add Delete on 2019/01/31 08:52
Terrible update. The app used to work on my iPhone but now it no longer opens the WiFi settings when you click “check for boingo WiFi” in the app. Instead it open the settings for WiFinder (the app itself) and you can’t connect to any WiFi network associated with Boingo.
Please create a better app...
by Flexitron2000 on 2019/01/23 03:04
Update: had to delete the app as it was eating up 55% of my battery despite background activity being turned off... And yes I agree with the comment - non of that sounds right, but are the actual issues with the app... Similar issues as the other users: 1) app prevents you from logging into certain WiFis (I haven’t been able to find a solution) 2) it drains a LOT of your battery (35% on my iPhone over the past 10 days with “background activity”)
Is this updated?
by gggiachiii on 2019/01/20 03:57
Just changed to an iPhoneXS and I’ve been having problems detecting wifi available around me through the app, and it often redirects me to settings.
Boingo actually prevents me from connecting
by eBob99 on 2018/12/31 18:25
The staff of the Marriott in San Ramon, CA told me that if I wanted to connect to their Wi-Fi I had to delete my Boingo app first. They were right. As soon as I deleted Boingo, my phone connected immediately. I’ve had this same experience in airports & hotels around the world for a couple years now. Makes me wonder how it could go on this long without the Boingo developers fixing this.
Caution
by TW747 on 2018/12/13 22:59
The app clashes with other WiFi and prevents you from logging in. I find it is extremely problematic at Hotels (Hiltons, Marriott....). It typically results in deleting the app.

Worst app on the planet! Uninstall Wi-Finder!!
by NotATechGeek on 2018/11/27 18:50
What a crap of an app. Worst ever. It never does anything useful ... you can find WiFi networks just fine under “Settings —> WiFi “. But it actually PREVENTS you from getting on WiFi networks! That’s right! I now had been at several hotels, couldn’t figure out, why I could not log on. The check mark next to the WiFi symbol was there, but my IPhone won’t connect to the WiFi network. I spent HOURS trying to find a solution, resetting all passwords ( painful! ), etc ... nothing worked. I tried all the tricks I could find. Until ... I noticed that it said “look for Boingo WiFi” under that check mark. I open that app, now it connects me ... but I have no idea whether it is using its own plan to pay for it, or the plan I already paid for at the hotel. I went ahead and tried to delete it ... it is not under “Boingo WiFi Finder” but under “Wi-Finder”. Deleted it now, and now, everything works like a charm. But those lost hours of my life ... I never get them back. What a stupid, crappy app.
Breaks Other Free WiFi as other reviews. Developer’s purported fix is false.
by qdlb on 2018/11/24 23:12
It’s quite telling that this app apparently has received all 1-star reviews for more than a year. (Yet, oddly, still shows an overall high rating). I can attest that this app breaks at least 2 free WiFi spots with captive login verifications, as reviewer MrBen123 stated. One of them is certain Hilton HHonors WiFi, so fairly wide spread. It is a serious concern for frequent international travelers, as the breaks cause by the app are not easily identified and one is left to diagnose it in environments with no internet connections. The developer’s response (to MrBen123’s review) of a fix is irrelevant/inaccurate/incomprehensible at best, since, in their current version, pretty much none of the mentioned options were present. Avoid install/download!
CAUTION!!!!
by DrPsych on 2018/11/04 09:36
This App is NOT updated for latest OS 12 software. It will “latch on” to your Apple Wi-Fi app and “lock out” Wi-Fi all together! You will next spend hours if not days sorting it all out. Easiest solution: DELETE. Customer support (on this issue): NONE —unless you call repetitive responses saying, “Sorry, this is not the experience we want for our customers” etc. SORRY BOINGO — you’re R&D is lagging and you know it!

Can’t use many WiFi connections when installed
by MrBen123 on 2018/09/25 15:54
Update to developer re fix: the problem is not that it doesn’t work when you try to connect thro the app. The problem is the iPhone will not connect to certain networks because the app is on the phone, but there is zero indication that this is anything to do with Boingo. No mention of it appears in the wi-fi connection screen. You just see a check mark next to network as though it’s trying to connect but you never get the WiFi 3 arcs in the top right; it never fully connects. How are people supposed to know to go to the boingo app to fix this in the first place? ——- I’ve had this app for 2 or 3 years and only just discovered it’s the cause of an inability to login to some networks. I see from other reviews now that it’s not just me. In many hotels I simply cannot log in to their networks, I get no indication that it’s because of the boingo app, instead it just hangs trying to connect with a check mark on the network but never actually getting any further. Only recently did I discover if I go into the app I can connect, but I had no idea the app was even something to consider, there was no indication I should be using it - I already was given free WiFi but the hotel. Same thing has just happened now in another hotel chain, although in this case I need to set the app to ignore the network as it can’t connect to it. So frustrating as there was no way to tell what was causing this for such a long time.
Breaks Hotel Logins
by CorpSuit on 2018/09/12 05:48
So just to echo what everyone has said if you install the app, there is a very good chance it will break the ability to login to a Marriott property. And you definitely won’t be able to add your iPhone if you have high speed internet as part of the Marriott Rewards program. Spent an hour trouble shooting and the tech said “do you happen to have Boingo?” And then explained that the app interferes with the login page. So I had to uninstall and it works now. New update from 6 days ago didn’t seem to fix it. Oh well.
Broke my WiFi connection.
by Rob2431 on 2018/09/04 17:11

Hotel Log-in BROKEN

When traveling through UK and France last week my iphone would never allow hotel WiFi log ins. In my settings screen, I can connect to a hotel network, but the WiFi signal strength bars on the upper left of my iphone are missing, I am never offered the pop-up hotel log-in screen at Marriott properties. Blocks Wi-Fi on iOS
by Jaa6921 on 2018/07/09 20:35
So rather than make excuses and apologies why didn’t someone actually fix this. Seems multiple users have the identical problem - isn’t that a clue? Go to your nearest Marriott and experience this for yourself. ================== I thought this was good at one time but now it’s impossible to log onto any Marriott hotel free Wi-Fi service or IHG Wi-Fi service from my iPhone 7Plus using iOS 10 and iOS 11 Caused me to consume excessive wireless data when I thought Wi-Fi was connected. The app seems to hijack the Wi-Fi connection I hope this will be fixed and then maintained across future iOS upgrades I removed the app and rebooted and now Wi-Fi always connects.
Finally figured out why I couldn’t login to Marriott Hotel WiFi! It was this app! Uninstalled.
by DR172 on 2018/07/09 10:14
For awhile when I travel I had trouble at various Marriott properties with the WiFi login not popping up. It wasn’t too much of a challenge since I am mostly a Hilton person. A few months ago I was at two different international destinations and had to use my LTE data which was a bit of a problem. I did notice that that the Marriott properties had the Boingo WiFi here text. Then I realized that it also happened on my iPad. Hmm why would both devices have a problem? Clearly it had to be an app that was installed. Yesterday same problem while in a Marriott. Thought that may be issue and did some googling. Sure enough others had reported problem. Removed this app and voila, the Marriott Hotel WiFi login popped right up. Uninstalled.

by BenChDC on 2018/07/04 17:36
I have had similar issues to Lgrtgfd. I didn’t realize it was the boingo app that was preventing me from logging on to hotel Wifi networks. This happens more often than not when staying at hotels and is incredibly annoying. Happened to me today at the Radisson Blu Gautrain. Deleted the app and am now connected to WiFi.

This is a bad joke, right?
by cyclosaurus on 2018/06/06 20:24
This app is supposed to help the user locate Boingo WiFi locations. But it only works with a WiFi connection. If you don’t have an internet connection then the app can’t help you, and if you do then it serves no purpose. Not sure how so many 1 star ratings worked out to an almost 5 star average on the App Store? Completely useless.
Prevents me from accessing to WiFi
by matt922w on 2018/05/31 16:23
I just started to use this app and I think this app is preventing me from accessing free WiFi because it’s unsecured. I think the idea is great that we can access from anywhere. But it’s not working or it’s making worth now. Please fix this as soon as possible before I delete this app
Takes over hotel Wi-Fi and then needs constant reconnect
by anupnair on 2018/05/24 04:49
Updates have made this app really bad. To maintain continuous connection with hotel Wi-Fi, I’ve had to uninstall the app. Once uninstalled, connection is perfect. Install it again and the same issue. Not going to renew the service.
DO NOT INSTALL-Kills your WiFi connection capabilities!!!
by Eodtsgt on 2018/05/22 22:14
This app made it nearly impossible to connect to any WiFi connection without using the Boingo app. I could see WiFi connections, and my iPad Pro would say connected, but the connection would not show in the top left of on the iPad and I would not have connection. Then after a few minutes I would get a pop up notification from Boingo that there is a Boingo connection available near me, once I opened the app and connected through the app my WiFi connection would work. Also, when connected through the Boingo app every time my iPad went to sleep or I locked the screen it would drop my connection and any VPN if that was connection. I was getting super frustrated with my iPad until I saw a post about this on the Apple forums. I don’t recommend anyone use this app or install it until they figure this issue out.

Boingo breaks login pages
by Lgrtgfd on 2018/05/12 18:54
This has become a routine occurrence. I cannot log in to hotel landing pages. Boingo tried to make this sound like some sort of “one off” but it happens all over the place and disappears when you revive the app and the profile. I recommend removing this junk ware. The developer has replied that they “have limited control over certain hotspots” and like in other cases are trying to portray this as some sort of one-off problem. But this is a widespread problem, it basically interferes with any network that uses a landing page. Hotels (Marriott, Starwood, Hilton etc.), airports, and other places all over the world for me, it’s a systematic and consistent problem across networks and devices and has been going on for a long time. They need to make their app compliant with international standards and either won’t or can’t. I’ve deleted their app and the problem has disappeared. I suggest anybody who is having this problem do the same. They lack the competence to understand and fix the problem.
Same problem
by C.Snicket on 2018/05/07 09:15

App breaks iOS WiFi functions
by ammo168 on 2018/03/31 09:50
Not sure what this app did to my phone, but I can’t connect to networks run by Boingo (including several Scandic hotels in Europe this week) without using this app. And if I do use the app, the connection drops constantly, causing me to burn through cellular data. The app has made it so that in Settings on my iPhone, it will appear as if I’m connected to the WiFi network, but in the status bar I’m still on cellular, and yet cellular data doesn’t work either. It’s actually kind of amazing that they were able to screw up iOS core functions so badly with a single app. My other iPhone works fine and will connect to Boingo networks, give me the splash page, and stay connected. But now this iPhone seems to be permanently hosed courtesy of Boingo.

Prevents auto-login of hotel wifi
by qtip772 on 2017/10/12 00:36

I have two iPhones. One personal, one work. The one without Boingo remains connected to Wi-Fi even when locked. The one with Boingo always reverts to cellular when the phone is locked and I have to launch Boingo and reconnect every time I unlock my phone. The iPhone with Boingo has used 90% of my data allowance, because the background processes use cellular.

Review stands.

by Aaaaaaa000000 on 2019/07/02 02:45
You won’t be able to connect to many networks when this app is on your iPhone X.

Oh well.

This app is worse than useless, it is actually detrimental to your phone even when you’re not using it!
Blocks Wi-Fi on iOS

Easiest solution: DELETE. Customer support (on this issue): NONE —unless you call repetitive responses saying, “Sorry, this is not the experience we want for our customers” etc. SORRY BOINGO — you’re R&D is lagging and you know it!

Delete this app
by BenChDC on 2018/07/04 17:36
I have had similar issues to Lgrtgfd. I didn’t realize it was the boingo app that was preventing me from logging on to hotel Wifi networks. This happens more often than not when staying at hotels and is incredibly annoying. Happened to me today at the Radisson Blu Gautrain. Deleted the app and am now connected to WiFi.
Broke my WiFi connection.
by Rob2431 on 2018/09/04 17:11
This app disabled the WiFi connection on my iPhone X during my stay at two different Marriott hotels. Using the app to connect to WiFi only worked for a few minutes before returning to cellular data. Uninstalling the app fixed my WiFi issues completely.

Never works
by Super Hybrid on 2018/10/27 00:19
I had this app for a few years already and it used to connect fine but lately (about a year so far) it never connects. The app finds WiFi spot that allows connection but using this app it does not connect. I hope future update will fix this issue.
Stops the WiFi login page from coming up
by sunday@sh on 2018/04/27 22:41
The login page never came up for both hotel WiFi networks yesterday and today. Searched the web and tried a few options. The removal of this app solved the problem.
Hijacks Public WiFi Authentication
by RB Cantabrigian on 2019/08/05 23:11
I was unable to connect to hotel or airline WiFi because the Boingo app prevents the iPhone from displaying the portal authentication page. I first tried to reset network settings without success. Finally uninstalling this app allowed me to connect properly.
seems broken
by shogoni on 2018/10/25 13:04

Takes over hotel Wi-Fi and then needs constant reconnect
by anupnair on 2018/05/24 04:49
Updates have made this app really bad. To maintain continuous connection with hotel Wi-Fi, I’ve had to uninstall the app. Once uninstalled, connection is perfect. Install it again and the same issue. Not going to renew the service.
Prevents auto-login of hotel wifi
by qtip772 on 2017/10/12 00:36
The hotel wifi is an unsecured network and after connecting, displays a login page to enter name and hotel room number. Boingo prevents the pop-up login page. I had to delete the app to use hotel wifi.

Absolutely the worst
by cynicalmusic on 2018/10/19 02:53
In an airport with several hotspots, didn’t log into one of them. Also seems shady that you can’t cancel the strong armed subscription within the ap. I could have downloaded a PDF faster with two tin cans and a piece of string. Just terrible

I highly suggest finding a different service if you’re looking for remote wifi.

by this company does bot care on 2020/04/22 22:25
I had to install the app then uninstall it because its so hard to see myself using Boingo in the near future, and my review needs to be seen by those considering subscribing to this “company” the only reason im still using them is for work purposes.

Crap app

If someone from boingo reviews my usage logs please note that at any time you see internet is because I connected using alternate means and then boingo figured it out and claimed success.

by Lapulgaluterana on 2019/03/10 09:47

It’ll be more productive and more fun.

by Flexitron2000 on 2019/01/23 03:04
Update: had to delete the app as it was eating up 55% of my battery despite background activity being turned off...

Oh well.
Broke my WiFi connection.
by Rob2431 on 2018/09/04 17:11
This app disabled the WiFi connection on my iPhone X during my stay at two different Marriott hotels. Using the app to connect to WiFi only worked for a few minutes before returning to cellular data. Uninstalling the app fixed my WiFi issues completely.
Very easy to start a subscription by mistake.
by Fat_Angus on 2018/08/23 11:53
Accidentally installed and started a subscription. Can not get my $10 back now. Reported the problem to Apple several times with no results.

Hotel Log-in BROKEN
by Stokar on 2018/07/13 12:50
When traveling through UK and France last week my iphone would never allow hotel WiFi log ins. In my settings screen, I can connect to a hotel network, but the WiFi signal strength bars on the upper left of my iphone are missing, I am never offered the pop-up hotel log-in screen at Marriott properties. Avoid this app until this bug is fixed.

Garbage
by DraftDodger on 2018/07/09 22:14
I still can’t believe they refuse to address the hotel login issue. It should be simple to be able to just temporarily what the app does or ignore it for some networks rather than having to uninstall. But that’s what I’m going to do because this is garbage

Same problem
by C.Snicket on 2018/05/07 09:15
I had the same problem as another customer. I paid for the in app purchase and then it would not connect me to any boingo network. I'd honestly like my money back.

Blocks Access to legitimate WiFi connections
by Todd578 on 2018/01/29 03:06
Your app overtakes the WiFi functionality on my iPhone and prevents me from connecting to any legitimate WiFi connection like hotels. I literally have to uninstall the app in order to connect to non Boingo supported connections. Why is that? This issue had been in existence for years and over multiple versions. Please do not respond with a canned answer.

Prevents auto-login of hotel wifi
by qtip772 on 2017/10/12 00:36

by Ronlap on 2017/10/07 01:00
I have two iPhones. One personal, one work. The one without Boingo remains connected to Wi-Fi even when locked. The iPhone with Boingo has used 90% of my data allowance, because the background processes use cellular.

It does the exact opposite of what it’s supposed to do.

by bferrara17 on 2019/12/06 22:46
I tried.
Nightmate
by Lapulgaluterana on 2019/03/10 09:47
Horrible
by ...wwwwee on 2020/07/26 02:46
The worst wifi you could ever buy be better off using a mobile hotspot this wifi is the worst in the world they lie about speeds they always have excuses and no results I would never recommend this wifi to anyone only reason they haven’t gone out of business is because they are con artist and somehow managed to con there way on a bunch of bases to mess up everyone’s gaming
WIFI does not connect as presented
by n^som on 2018/01/04 04:21
My iPhone does not automatically login to supported WIFI Hotspot as presented. Need to open the app and manual authen all times. I asked support team twice and got same answer to uninstall and reinstall app/cert but when ask back on next step is no answer. It’s far from my expectation which receive from competitor service(iXXXX) which I have used previously.
Unusable
by .tjinks on 2019/05/11 04:10
I can't connect to the hotel WiFi where I'm currently staying without using the app. I get disconnected after 5 - 10 minutes connection time forcing me to connect again using the app. Uninstalled the app and everything is normal now. Also the suggestion I got from support didn't apply to the version of the app on my iPhone 10s Max.
CAUTION!!!!
by DrPsych on 2018/11/04 09:36
This App is NOT updated for latest OS 12 software.
Interferes with other wi-fi & updates can lock up your phone and drain battery
by BizTraveker603 on 2019/06/01 18:55
Too many times now I’ve been blocked from hotel wi-fi because this app is interfering in the background. Latest update kept spooling until it nearly drained my battery. Use this app as a last resort and turn it off otherwise! App user beware.
Boingo purchase
by Keepinittrippy on 2020/10/15 10:52
I paid for monthly unlimited on my computer which said I can use on up to 4 devices. Why did it charge me again when I tried to download the app on my phone?
Is this updated?
by gggiachiii on 2019/01/20 03:57
Just changed to an iPhoneXS and I’ve been having problems detecting wifi available around me through the app, and it often redirects me to settings.
Never works
by Super Hybrid on 2018/10/27 00:19
I had this app for a few years already and it used to connect fine but lately (about a year so far) it never connects. The app finds WiFi spot that allows connection but using this app it does not connect. I hope future update will fix this issue.
Finally uninstalling this app allowed me to connect properly.
seems broken
by shogoni on 2018/10/25 13:04
Whenever I click to look for a network it just takes me to the Settings screen. I already have it set to Allow everything for the app, but still keeps sending me there.
Can’t use WiFi
by Tim0thy on 2019/09/02 15:14
This app makes some WiFi networks unusable. You can’t tell it’s happening but the WiFi will work once you delete this app. This is a horrible bug and I would never have this app on my phone ever again.
