Rating for the Palm

Service was wonderful, there were 8 of us and we were seated at a small round table. The filet not worth the money scallops were tough and over cooked.

Great app
Just ok
by L.Noury on 2019/10/20 21:25
A recently changed menu threw us off but we found something on the brunch menu even though it was dinner time. The food was ok, underseasoned whipped sweet potatoes were just eh. My grilled BBQ chicken sandwich was good but also underseasoned. They shouldn’t consider your choice of water a punishment by giving you warm tap water, ice being a pretty easy upgrade. The place was pretty but just so so. Waitress was nice though!
Easy
by Yoga hat on 2019/10/20 21:22
Love the ease of this app. When we visit new places and don’t know where to eat, the reviews of the restaurants help us decide. Then make a reservation and it’s all done!! Perfect.
Good app!
by poiplanet on 2019/10/20 18:21
Open Table is a good app and makes the task of making restaurant reservations easier, especially when coordinating small groups or special occasions. The only thing is sometimes the app doesn’t seem to record when the number of people changes or when the reservation changes. Otherwise it is efficient.
Awesome

Love Open Table! Make finding a place to eat so easy!
Not great
by 68sicktomystomach on 2019/10/20 03:40
Not a great experience. I made a reservation, and we were told we could pick our seats? They were not great seats any of them. We ended up in a corner, where I felt I was part of the coat rack on the wall. I was basically sitting under someones jacket. It was Loud. We had to ask for more coffee. Our food did not come at the same time. The second dish was late coming to the table. We felt the waiter had a passive, rude approach. Extremely expensive. Don’t go hungry, because you won’t leave full. Not worth the money.

Butternut season
by SuzyJC on 2019/10/19 22:23
Our dinner was delicious as always. We started with the hummus (as usual) and it didn’t disappoint. My daughter had the butternut squash soup and it I wish I had it too. So creamy and it tasted like fall. She followed it up with the butternut squash pizza. I tasted it and it was amazing - great mix of flavors. The dried cranberries added the perfect touch. My husband had the spicy curry bowl and thoroughly enjoyed it. My lasagna bolonase hit the spot and warmed me up. Everything was perfection.

Horrible
by LAWINT on 2019/10/19 21:25
Henry’s on Jog Rd in Delray Beach could be one of the worst restaurants I’ve ever been to. The food is mediocre and Cindy, the manager has the worst attitude towards the customer. Recently 8 of us went for a family celebration and 3 ended up sick. After numerous phone calls explain what had occurred Cindy did absolutely nothing even though we had spent about $400.00. Do yourselves a favor while in Delray Beach...go to Burger King for a much better experience and much better food.
Garbage

Slow loading times, ugly UI all keep this app from even remotely resembling anything that could be described as “decent”
Quick and Easy
by richthatcher on 2019/10/19 18:24
While I may not be hip to the last gadgets and applications, I work in the restaurant industry as a consultant/sommelier and Open Table takes the work out of finding a good place. It also notes to the places I like to visit frequently that I am am loyal to their service. I may use others on occasion, but Open Table is my first choice.

Why enter time when it ignore time?
by Comrade Peter on 2019/10/19 16:44
Looking for a reservation on a busy night. Chose 7pm. And what does it do? It shows me every restaurant whether or not it has availability at 7pm. So, rather than looking at restaurants with 7pm available, I sift through every restaurant.

Choo Choo Crafted Cocktails
by SheFolAZ on 2019/10/19 04:45
Positives: Fun and novel experience! Excellent and friendly service. Lots of creative and complex cocktails to choose from. Must order off the bar cocktail menu. No beer or wine in the train car, but three are 2 other bars to choose from. Definitely a place to go when you have friends or family come to town. Tasty bourbon chocolate truffles brought with your check. Yum. Negatives: Parking is rough. Not much availability in their lot, nor next door at their sister bar Sip. Places nearby have tow signs. So during peak times Uber there, don’t subject yourself to the hassle. No food served at the Platform 18, not even a tiny bar snack. 😢. (Menu available in other areas of GP)
Not useful in NYC. Resy far superior
by caroline15789 on 2019/10/19 03:12
This app is not meant for use in NYC. If you search for restaurants in Brooklyn Heights or Cobble Hill, neighborhoods in north west Brooklyn, you will get primarily results all over the island of Manhattan. I realize in middle America there are not a lot of restaurant options, and half a mile is a reasonable distance to travel to eat in a given area but in cities, especially New York, you would need to take an Uber or transfer 3 trains to travel that distance, not to mention the fact that there are quite literally thousands of restaurants within closer proximity. If I wanted to eat in the west village I would search for restaurants in the west village but that ain’t what I asked, girl. To add salt to the would, the developers of this app did away with the feature to limit your search within a given map area or to sort results by distance, so you end up getting mostly irrelevant results that restaurants have paid to appear first. Hey OPENTABLE we know that basic tourist traps like Catch and Babbo pay you the big bucks to lead the search results but real New Yorkers want relevant results. Your roster has also gone down hill and it’s no wonder why. Yet another reason to rely on Resy!!!

Open Table... even in a small town
by Lins274 on 2019/10/17 22:55
I love open table! It makes things very convenient. And although only a few restaurants in my smaller town use it, i love it. I wish others would get it together and realize that reservations at a convenience are critical for busy professionals!
Difficulty in changing number of diners and confirming final reservation.
by Larry1,2,3,5,7,11 on 2019/10/17 14:37
I value Open Table, but always have difficulty changing, finalizing and confirming a reservation for more than 2 people. Entering the number of diners should be easier and more intuitive.

Dogs at Dinner
by bgdoglover on 2019/10/16 02:48
I just returned from an excellent wine dinner at Bijoux. Barnett Vineyards and the chef pairings were excellent. However, apparently friend of owner or chef was allowed to bring their dog to sit at the table. This was so unappetizing in so many ways. If this was so important to bring g your pup , I could have brought my precious Aussie as well. Could the owner/ chef have set these important friends in a separate table ??? I am a dog lover, however please do not make me eat dinner with animals unless I choose to. So disappointed in my most favorite restaurant. Again who brings dogs to eat at $100++ per person dinners???

Empty , still ignored us & didn’t seat us. 3 couples waiting- literally empty dining room. Sorry to be such a bother to the hostess who lacked any personality & clearly felt looking up was too much of an effort
Mediocre food
by Nervedoctor on 2019/10/15 12:31
The food was mediocre at best. The supposed homemade pasta did not have a typical fresh pasta texture. The tomato sauce was not tasty nor authentic Italian tasting. Bread was average and Oil that came with it had no taste. Service was poor. Servers were arrogant.

Not as Complete as it was
by !EDGE on 2019/10/14 14:43
Love the ease of searching and reserving on OT, but they must have introduced service levels at higher costs because some old favorites no longer appear on the OT site when I search for them. Now I need to go to Google, find the restaurant, reserve through Google and then the reservation magically appears on my OT account. So I can no longer rely on looking for a restaurant on OT exclusively.

Great for reservations but not for rewards
by Thesenicknamesareaproblem on 2019/10/13 16:17
This is a great service for making reservations, but its rewards program has real problems. Rewards often disappear, and if you change a reservation in which you had a reward of $20 or $50, it’s supposed to remain but doesn’t. They’re also increasingly lowering the value of the rewards.

Wrong info
by Sam69! on 2019/10/12 22:35
Well we arrived at Luna for dinner, my wife was ready to order the filet and myself the salmon. Imagine our surprise when we found a very unique bar that served only burgers/ quesadilla’s and Philly steak sandwiches? If You check your site ... well kinda different! Might need to make changes on OneTable!
What happened to the rewards?
by Brian 1969 on 2019/10/12 22:09
I collected 10000 points and planned to redeem for $100, as promised. But Open table changed the valuation by half! So, I think I have a $50 certificate now, but not certain. It became overly complicated to use. I wish there were a competitor to switch to.

by melissagregs1234556789 on 2019/10/12 01:52
We did the waitlist app. Checked in when we arrived and confirmed our spot, were told 30 min. Grabbed a spot at the bar. Our drink orders were taken and then ignored while the bartender when to 4 other patrons and fulfilled their drink orders. Finally filled ours. We drank at the bar for over 1 hour and 20 min. Service for bar service got marginally better. We went up to tell the hostess we would eat at the bar where she said they “tried to text and it didn’t go through”. Strange because I checked in, received a text, and CONFIRMED MY NUMBER! They have some staff training to get through which is normal for a new restaurant. The food was great, however everything came out twice. We will come back to try again, hopefully they can work out the kinks.

Used to be great, now just so-so ... call the restaurants directly!
by nabby487 on 2019/10/11 05:39
Open Table is only a shadow of what it used to be. Yes, it’s simple and easy to use. But, only 3 stars because of the new “points” system, where the diners have no control over the value of the points when the points are used. To maximize the value of the points, diners have to sacrifice the quality of the restaurants and seating times. The “points” system made Open Table fun to use, now it’s just a source of aggravation. Myself and other frequent diners I know don’t use Open Table as much any more. We reserve directly with the restaurants! Open Table, you’ve done the diners wrong! Hopefully, the genius that dreamed up the new points scheme is long gone from the CEO’s table. It was, and remains, a stupid idea!

Gautreau’s Restaurant New Orleans
by santafeslut on 2019/10/10 15:26
What a disappointment. The food was bland. Our duck entree tasteless. One virtually untouched plate was removed from the table without even an inquiry such as, “Was everything alright?” The noise level in this restaurant can be ear piercing and the waitstaff needs to learn how to smile. With so many excellent choices in New Orleans give this over rated restaurant a pass.
Quick and easy!

They could have made this a better experience
by linny_45 on 2019/10/10 01:09
After confirming my reservation the evening before via a text the restaurant sent, I still had to wait 30 minutes before getting seated at our table. The food was good. The service was decent. We just finish our dinner when we had to evacuate due to fire in the hotel. We waited outside for 20 minuets to return only to pay our bill. We did not get offered any compensation, including our sodas nor offered a free dessert. Definitely disappointed as we sat in the crisp fall weather to be honest people.

I don’t even like to go to restaurants that are not on here because it’s just such a quick convenient way to check out places to eat and of course the best way to make reservations!!!! I don’t know what I would do without them!

Hubbies birthday

We went to Chop to celebrate my hubbies birthday. We were guided to our table immediately and Jennifer was introduced as our server. She was fantastic and helpful. The food was delicious and his birthday free dessert was perfect! The only thing that I heard people say and we totally agree is it is to dark to read the menu. If your phone doesn’t have a flashlight bring one. Only improvement is turn the lights up a little. We will return and as for Jennifer.

I’m trying to make a reservation and the app doesn’t have an option to put number of people. It defaults to 2. I even tried to modify the reservation but it wouldn’t let me modify the number of people. If there’s a way to do it, I couldn’t find it.
Don’t know how I could do without it!
by Ali11576 on 2019/10/08 13:49
Makes finding a restaurant at the right time in the right location at the right price and easy and manageable process.
Terrible app
by Tom16404 on 2019/10/08 01:19
This app only works well to do what it wants you to do. Try to make a change or deviate from its preferred function and you’ve got to fight to get it done. And it wants access to your location at all times, not just when I choose to give it access. Talk about privacy violations!
Great App
by Tassie17 on 2019/10/07 15:41
I like this app. However, I find it’s getting harder to use it with ease. When I enter the app, I can’t find the regular list of restaurants in my area without fumbling around for many wasted minutes. Used to be so easy to use, but not now!
Good App, but Needs Improvement
by Cucina Saporita on 2018/12/17 17:17
I love the convenience of making reservations on this app, but I’ve given it 3 stars as it needs some improvements to go from good to great. OpenTable is great as most places use it, but if a competitor were to come up with a better user experience, I’d switch in a heartbeat. 1) Needs functionality to redeem points for dining coupons electronically. It’s 2018, why can’t I get a barcode that can be scanned at a restaurant? I tried to redeem points last weekend and it said to go to my desktop...some folks don’t even use a desktop outside of work. This is a huge miss. 2) Needs a better layout of local restaurants and navigation. I’ll search for local restaurants and after listing a few, it jumps to those 20 miles away. I’m in a huge metro suburb and I want to narrow in on a certain town and not get mixed results with places far away. I go out a lot and do a mix of city and suburbs but for folks not familiar with the area, it could be deceiving. For example, searching for something close by and you see an interesting place and don’t realize it’s further than you wanted until you click on the restaurant to explore.
They want receipt copies!!
by Sam Ovila on 2018/02/23 23:50
We are regulars at a local restaurant (1-2 times a week) and we always made reservations through the OpenTable app to avoid waiting in line. Sometimes they get too busy or have new host staff and apparently forget to check us in, so OT sends an email a few days later to ask if you attended your reservation. In the past, they’d check with the restaurant but when this recently happened to us, Khadejah asked for a scanned copy of our receipt. I explained that, for security reasons, I don’t feel comfortable sending copies of my credit card receipts (not to mention we shred anything with CC info) but I offered the names of staff we spoke to that evening with whom she could verify, and that we ALWAYS sit at table 10. Nope, she insisted on a receipt to give us credit for the visit. Why the change? Why demand personal financial information in a time when ID theft and credit card theft are rampant? I can tell you who saw me, who spoke to me, where I sat, heck- even what I wore, but that’s not sufficient? Unless there’s a change in this policy, we will likely begin using one of the many other reservation services available.
Birthday celebration
by aliwalsh on 2019/02/17 03:30
We made a 6:15 reservation at Kasai for my daughter’s 18th birthday with 4 of her friends. We were told when we arrived that the teppanyaki table we were waiting for had their check and was about to leave. 40 minutes later we were finally seated. The manager was very apologetic and even had appetizers on the house waiting when we arrived at our table. Everything else was great until the waiter delivering our soups looked like he purposely poured the soup all over my daughter. I actually watched him like it was in slow motion tilting the soup bowl onto her lap. She was soaked the rest of the night. The other waiter filled several of the soda glasses with water all night. The food was very good and the teppanyaki chef may have been the best we have had! The waiter at the end handed us the check and did not warn us that an 18% gratuity was already added. The final straw was when the waiter delivered bite sized cakes and my 11 year old daughter asked if there were any cashews or pistachios in them and the waiter said there are no nuts. She is allergic to both cashews and pistachios. She picked a chocolate one and bit into it only to find a trio of pistachios, strawberry and vanilla flavored cake. She immediately spit it into my napkin. The food was really good but there were too many other things that went wrong for us to visit again!
Thank God this place opened in our neighborhood!
by Dee Honest Ratings on 2018/12/10 22:32
All I can say is WOW WOW WOW! We came here for the second time (first time yesterday) and still the same review! Fresh homemade food served as described, but even better! The past two days we have almost tried everything and took food home to go! Amazingly, delicious food and it’s going to be hard not to drive by and stop no matter what! I recommend the calamari, hummus, pizzas, the lamb (doesn’t matter burger or the entree). This place knows the proper cooking temps on the lamb and the “Mediterranean” is truly “Mediterranean” if you know what it should taste like! Also, the talent within the restaurant is professional, well-versed on the menu and the wine list. Customer service is definitely a 5+ along with the food! You have a diverse variety of food to choose from such as pasta, pizza, seafood and it’s all amazing! A must try and you will be hooked! Seriously, it is one of the best restaurants in the valley!
Mostly good
by SF987654 on 2017/11/04 02:52
It's a useful service that I've used for years but there are a couple of annoying things about the app: 1) first of all, because you're on mobile, the app defaults you to "book a table near me now" mode and it's a little hard to navigate out of that. Most of the time I'm using the app, it's because I'm on the go or in a meeting - not because I need a table right then. It's annoying to constantly figure out how to book a table for a future date, in a distant neighborhood. It takes way too many clicks to do this. App designers: there's more than one mobile use case; more than one user journey. 2) rebooking a table doesn't seem to work. I tried at various times of the day and kept getting error messages, or no error just no success. I ended up having to call the restaurant directly which to me, defeats a lot of the purpose of OpenTable. Also, as others have noted, using rewards is a pain. This is the fault of the company, not the app, so it doesn't figure into my app rating, but I would advise against giving an Open Table gift certificate as a gift to anyone. There are way too many limitations, rules, and annoying steps to redeem.
Weak: don't bother
by SailorTommie on 2017/12/31 20:44
Been using OpenTable for years, spent literally thousands of dollars at affiliated restaurants, finally got around to claiming the rewards I've earned, and it's a pittance! Do the math: a typical meal's 100-point reward = 50 cents! Ah, but they're sneaky: they don't tell you what the conversion factor is until AFTER you make a reservation where you want to redeem. Worse, they're dishonest: redeeming 5,000 points worth "up to $50" was actually converted to just $25. That means my entire 20,000-point reward allotment for all those years is worth just $100. Pffftt!! They make it extraordinarily difficult to redeem, and instructions are confusing and contradictory. You can book on mobile, but you can't redeem. The mobile app directs you to the website -- which inaccurately says you can do everything on your phone! NOT. When you do figure it out, you get an email with a link BACK to the website, which generates an image that you must print and bring to the restaurant, where it's processed like a debit/reward card. Complete hassle; not worth the time and effort. I'm DONE. I'll search on Google -- which finds ALL cuisine, not just participating restaurants -- and click "call" to make my reservations the old-fashioned way: by speaking to a real, live, in-the-flesh human being.
Just don’t do it
by Cow & Cutie on 2019/07/18 01:01
It’s offensive to put this in the fine dining category. The crab cake appetizer had almost no crab. The shrimp cocktail was over cooked, mealy, and underwhelming. Before we were even finished with the appetizer the she crab soup was delivered without spoons. As they were trying to take away the appetizer plates the waiter spilt two shrimp tails on my skirt and just walked away without as much of an apology even though I’m quite certain he saw what he did. Before we as much as started eating the soup they tried to bring out the entree we were going to split. They did think to take it back after seeing the look on our face so the dish was nice and Luke warm by the time we were ready for it. When they did bring out the entree that we were splitting they did not pre-split it like any real restaurant but they did bring out a second dirty plate for us to split the meal ourself. Both the entree and soup claimed they had lump crab. The soup had shreds of crab and crab shell on top. I could not find any crab in the actual entree. The meal was also described as a lemon wine sauce but was actually a very heavy Alfredo. The entire meal with a predinner drink took 40 minutes. I would honestly give this negative stars if possible.
What a mess.
by HahahaComedy on 2019/06/15 01:09
I've had this app for about 5 minutes and I'm ready to delete it. I booked a table on my desktop and it asked me for my email address for the confirmation. Then it said to open an account to keep track of the reservation and have me the option of logging in with Google (which is different than my email address I used to send the confirmation). So I went to my account and sure enough the reservation isn't there. I try downloading the app and guess what? No option to log in with Google on the app. So I go back to the desktop to change the password because my Google password doesn't work on the "log in with open table" option. I get into the app, no reservations. I go to the email confirmation I received and click on change/view reservation and it of course takes me to my profile page for the account with no reservations. So I click on add to calendar and invite Google email to my own reservation. In the account I get a notification that I was invited, and then accept. Then I click on upcoming reservations and there are no reservations. And the alert icon is still red letting me know I was invited to my own reservation.
A must visit Winery that serves food.

As soon as you step in was welcomed with sample of wine. Presented with drink options and then was able to walk around and see what items they had for sale. Unfortunately we didn’t plan this part better and enjoyed the wine experience more. Next time. Off to our reservation we had quite a mix of food. Shrimp Rosotto which was amazing. Chicken sandwich that was listed as a favorite which was also good. The turkey burger though was of a softer consistency and not like a traditional patty. It was good, but not what we were expecting. They did exchange for a regular burger which turned out to be great. We decided after a couple more samples each to indulge in monthly membership and will definitely be returning. It’s amazing seeing all of the wines they offer from their own branding it’s pretty overwhelming actually. But now with a membership we can try them all.
Improvements made

First of all, who are these people detailing the restaurant’s tilapia and their server ignoring them on what is supposed to be the Open Table app review?! This is not Yelp, folks. This latest update resolved my ire with the searching. We can FINALLY search for restaurants in San Francisco in its entirety. For a long while you had to specify a SF neighborhood when looking for an available restaurant i.e. 3 people at noon in the Mission, San Francisco, CA. Every other city, you were able to indicate and search by just the city name all except for SF. Looks like the capability has returned. But scrolling through the list of restaurants was and still remains to be both annoying af and difficult as where my finger lands to swipe up or down to move the page up or down, it’ll attempt to drag and drop that restaurant as a link to a message whether text or email. Why anyone ever thought that would be a good idea when everyone in the app is using a touch screen phone is beyond me. Can we get that fixed, please?
Bad service
by old paradigm on 2019/04/13 18:48
Have not eaten at a Benihana restaurant in years. I now remember why. Years ago when Benihana hit the market they were an innovative and fun place to have dinner with friends. They have become nothing more than a novelty restaurant. The service and staff are no better trained than fast food chains. We set a reservation, and a hour later we called them to move the reservation back 30 minutes. We were put on hold, and then got hung up on so we called back and the system would not pick up our call. So we called back a third time and got put on hold for almost 7 minutes. When they got on the line and we complained to the staff and management they argued that we were only on hold for a mere seven minutes. The manager went on to say that this is not a big deal and there’s no reason for me to be frustrated?? WOW I explained I was on the phone for a total of 14 minutes and she begrudgingly moved my reservation back. When I asked her to stay on the phone with me for 14 minutes after she moved my reservation she told me she was busy and hung up on me… I guess it was a big deal to wait on the phone for 14 minutes
A hidden gem!
by pastalover69 on 2019/06/19 23:15
Don’t be fooled by the location. This is a wonderful Italian restaurant. I was in Bristow for a week, wondering where I could get a decent meal. Open Table made me aware of Tortino Mare. The location is a strip mall - the food is WORTH THE TRIP! The dining room is pleasant. The menu offers good choices. I started with the fennel and beet salad. Beautifully presented, with olive oil, walnuts and cheese. While I was tempted by the swordfish special, I went with the lamb chops. Delicious! The balsamic glaze made me lick my fingers! Even the gelato dessert revealed an attention to detail. And, a special shout out to my server, Javier, who was well-aquatinted with the preparation of the food, and knew how to make a guest feel welcomed. While I don’t come to Northern Virginia often, this place is definitely on my “must return to” list!
Useless when searching
by SVWIL on 2018/11/23 01:14
As other reviewers pointed out, when you know exactly which restaurant you want to go and when, using the app is a no-brainer - book, dine, and get points. However, when searching for future dates, for example, when planning vacation travel, is AGGRAVATING. The app keeps resetting to 2 people today. I like using map view to search, and I’d zoom out to widen the area, click “redo search” - a whole bunch of options pop up, but when you click on them turns out they aren’t available at the selected time and it literally just brings up all the restaurants in that area regardless of time and date you are trying to search. Developers clearly know of this issue, as it even brings up a pop-up box asking if you want to update your search to the criteria you set previously - but even after you click “Yes”, it runs the search and again the results are populated with restaurants that do not have availability at times you are looking for. USELESS! Fix this please!
Was Excited to Enjoy and Let Down
by Slipstreamer69 on 2019/03/17 03:57
My wife and i are in Park City for a long weekend of skiing and snowboarding. Tonight was out last night here and we were out to celebrate. I have celiac so was excited that they had a massive menu I could enjoy. I also work and travel a ton to Japan so even more excited. We arrived 20 min early. Was going to enjoy a cocktail. We were rudely told we will not be able to sit you for 30 min. That’s fine so we walked around Main St. We came back down at 8:28. At 9:00 still have not sat down. We were placed at the bar so we were “out of the way”. 15-20 minutes later tables were open yet we were still parked. I was tired. My wife was tired. And truthfully did not feel welcome at this place. The food smelled fantastic yet the customer service was terrible. Should have know this would be the case when we arrived people coming up were like don’t even bother. These people are goofy and it’s not worth your time. A great night planned for a great dinner ended with so so pizza a few doors down. Move on people.
Easy breezy to use with one big flaw
by fygar on 2018/02/24 15:05
Great app, use it all the time. But, one thing that has to be fixed is the restaurant search feature, which doesn't seem to care how far a restaurant is from your location if there is no restaurant with that name locally. Example: Searched for a restaurant and selected my city. The results give me first a restaurant that’s 400 miles away in another country followed by restaurants in my country that I guess were more farther away by distance. Okay, so no restaurant with that name locally, so just tell me! How about saying there are no restaurants with that name locally, followed by similar cuisine restaurant suggestions? Or even better, be able to select criteria that most closely fit that restaurant profile? That would be a lot more useful than accidentally reserving a restaurant 400 miles away in another country!
Wonderful Wedding Anniversary moment at Merchants
by Bill & Robin W on 2018/10/18 03:21
My wife and I are visiting Nashville again and decided to have dinner at Merchants on Broadway. The staff was wonderful as they always are, and kept apologizing for how long it was taking. We honestly hadn’t noticed and didn’t think it was taking long at all, we were just enjoying watching the people walking outside up and down Broadway. The manager talked to us on several occasions (and brought one of favorite items, the spiced sweet pickles) and then surprised us after dinner with a wonderful Happy Anniversary card signed by the staff. We will remember how gracious everyone was to us on our 27th anniversary. We highly recommend stopping in and visiting this Nashville landmark. Thank you to everyone at Merchants!
Disappointing
by Okiegirl61 on 2019/02/03 18:25
We are VERY VERY loyal patrons of this restaurant till today when at a last minute notice 5 members of our family unexpectedly came by to join us for brunch, not knowing that we had a reservation here but the hostesses would not let them eat with us or even split up in smaller tables, they said they would have to wait at least an hour so my 3 grandchildren left the restaurant in tears. While we were dining the booth next to us and table next to us were empty the entire time as well many other tables. The hostess/manager apologized for not letting our family join us and said she would give us free dessert, but she never did come thru on that so I guess she wasn’t that sorry. This will probably be our last time to eat there on a Sunday for sure. We should have just walked out and let cafe 501 have the table back for some other patron that walks in off the street at a last minute notice after church to have brunch with their family.
Truely Exceptional Service
by dakim23 on 2019/08/16 23:35
We have a child with allergies. It is often very difficult to find good options. We know that he can eat hamburger at Legal and it is usually our goto spot. We had never been to the Framingham location but the attention and service level was absolutely outstanding from the hostesses who sat us but especially our server Camilla. She was really great. I mean with two kids 2 and 5, we were messy and a bit unruly but she made us feel welcome and everything things was okay, no problem. We will definitely come back to this specific location in the future. I don’t write reviews that often but level of service was so noticeable that I’m doing this as I pay the bill.
Performance beginning to degrade
by Yessamp on 2019/09/21 02:40
I’ve been using OT for ages, always had awesome experiences but today it was a train wreck. I was trying to dine at the Galvez Bar and Grill in Galveston Texas, after an hour and too much trouble with the wait staff we decided to leave and go at a more reliable restaurant. I tried to use OpenTable to make a reservation and OpenTable said “want to modify your reservation”, I said “yes”. Opentable popped up with “Call the restaurant”. I was one hour into dining. “Hello” Did the app not connect I had already been checked in? The restaurant checked me in on the app. By now I had already told the restaurant I was leaving. I tried to book another restaurant Gaido’s in Galveston Texas but the Open Table reservation would not process. Got to the they said you don’t have a reservation. Tried to reserve again and OT insisted I call again. So I called again spoke to The Galvez they said they were cancelling. Still the OpenTable app would not let me cancel. After dining at Gaido’s the app does not show Galvez Bar and Grill since it is cancelled and Gaido’s never got logged. The tool was built to simplify, but now they have changed the way their data is managed and so they have broken the process. It was a good many years but I believe OT is about to lose a very loyal customer, not willing to go through OT hassles.
Removed the “add to calendar” option
by Slithy Toves on 2018/02/27 09:16
This baffles me. Going out to a restaurant, there are a few things that are important - which restaurant, the address, the day, and the time. In the past, there was a button to hit that would put all of this information in my calendar. I wouldn’t even call it a feature, as it’s the most obvious thing in the world. Think of it like assuming that a calculator app has a plus sign button. If it lacks that plus sign button, you know the developer made a serious error. Guess what, the OpenTable people have decided that everyone can copy all that data in by hand. All the people complaining here and on Twitter are just ignored. Nice improvement there, guys.
Ok but harder to advise others now
by Autonog on 2017/11/15 13:58
Another example of a poorly managed "upgrade " / modification to a popular app. It used to be so easy to send a message to your guests with the info. There was a little arrow clearly visible and presto. Now you need to "add guests" and it appears you can only do it as a text, not an email....what if you don't have their mobile number, which often occurs with a business associate. Also once the message arrives, whether a text or something else, it should have an Outlook/ other calendar option so you/ they don't have to manually add the info to their calendar. These should be easy and obvious things but seem to have been overlooked.
Harder to use than desktop
by fashiondisaster on 2018/01/06 11:50
I’ve been using Open Table on my laptop since the early 00’s and switched to the app about two years ago. They have a pretty big base of restaurants to choose from and I’ve discovered a lot of long-standing favorites as a result of exploring. My biggest complaint about the app is that the map search feature regularly resets itself when you try to zoom in too closely on a neighborhood. The overall navigation is a little difficult, compared to the desktop version, (which I sometimes pull up on my phone if I need to find something fast). It’s also not possible to redeem rewards on the app, which is frustrating. Their rewards system has changed to a less desirable redemption process as well, but I guess that is unrelated to the app itself.
Great way to make and track dinner plans
by BirdGuy-7 on 2018/02/03 11:57
The new interface took a little getting used to but the app still works great. It is easy to search restaurants and times. One feature I would like to see added: search the next availability for a specific time. This would help with really popular places that always seem to be booked. ---- Update: this is still my go-to when I want to make a res. It used to be easier to send a notice of the reservation to others from within the app, but now they want you to link other party members which presumes they have the app themselves. Now I just wait until I get the confirmation email and forward that. I used a $100 reward a couple years ago and need to claim another.
Accruing points should not be optional.
by KDB6151 on 2018/07/10 18:25
I very much like using Open Table & periodically check to see if there are any additional restaurants in the area that are affiliated with OT. It’s very convenient & quick to use. More restaurants should use it. However, I haven’t used the app in a while until I went on vacation & wanted to make a reservation. I was in a hurry & did not take notice to the option to earn points, and of course missed earning points. It makes me mad that I missed the opportunity to earn points for that reservation. This makes no sense to me whatsoever. Why wouldn’t I want to earn points? Of course I want points! And if it’s optional, then it should be turned on by default. If someone doesn’t want points for some reason, let them be the ones that have to opt out.
app does not redeem points
by Ddsheets on 2018/05/03 11:13
App is good for quickly and easily finding reservations but useless for redeeming points. Customers are directed to go to the open table website. Once that is done, after clicking the redeem button that is supposed to send an email with link to redeem, nothing happens. Points are just added back to the account. It has nothing to do with password or cookies. I tried a different fresh computer with the same results. I also spent over a half hour on the phone with a customer service rep who could not remedy the problem. Administration has created a system that has devalued points from when I first started using the app many years ago even if they could be redeemed. Can it be they owe more points to diners than they want to distribute? SCAM? FRAUD? Yelp and google search offer more options.
Reservation O easy way !
by SPAM 1911 on 2019/01/01 12:36
This is the easiest way to make a reservation, for people who don’t make reservations all the time. When you use open table you find all kinds of different restaurants you didn’t even know existed in the area that you want to go eat or live in. I would recommend this app to anyone from a professional person who always has business lunches dinners to a person who needs a place To impress his date. Open table is the way to go I recommend it to everyone. And when friends ask him for a nice place to go eat I always tell them to to get the OpenTable app and you’ll be able to find any restaurant you want to eat it.
Fancy Night Out-No Reservation
by Nimbus 5000 on 2018/06/16 02:03
For a company that specializes in dinner reservations, it better work or what is the point? Right? I made a reservation for a restaurant on 2/16 for Saturday 6/9 just to be sure we could get into this nice place. 2 days before I got a confirmation reminding me about the reservation. Our party of 4 showed up, only to find a sign on the door that said the restaurant had closed on 5/27. All decked out we stumbled around town to find the only upscale place that would take us. Turns out there was a party of 12 in there who had the same experience. Imagine a party of 12 scrambling around to find a table in a small wine town? Easily Open Table should be on this, and send a note. The restaurant could as well, however if they’re closing/ closed who would do this. While I would normally not give any place just one star, this is the 2nd time I have had this happen with an Open Table reservation. The first time was on New Year’s Eve. There have been no communications from this app regarding this unfortunate experience. I would recommend that all restaurants who take Open Table reservations start working the front desk themselves and stop paying their fees. I would recommend all diners to trust the telephone more. You may be the next. Do not trust this app to be 100% reliable.
Exceptional?
by Dr.Gid on 2018/05/25 01:43
My wife and I received a gift certificate as a thank you for our job as educators. We were very excited to try a new restaurant especially one as highly lauded as Erling Jensen. Our server and food were excellent. However, we felt very out of place as the chef visited every single table that surrounded us yet never stopped by our table.... there were only six tables seated. We are hard working dedicated professionals who work just as hard as those seated around us. Again, the food and wait staff were excellent but the obvious exclusion makes any possible return very unlikely. If a person walks into such an establishment they should be afforded the same level of service as everyone one else. What should have been a very romantic and meaningful experience was reduced to an excellent yet uncomfortable meal.
Changing locations in search
by Jon Weymann on 2019/01/27 22:03
For the most part, the app is great except if you travel a lot, trying to get it to look for restaurants in a particular location that you are not currently in is extremely frustrating and difficult to make work. For example, at the moment, you’re in city XYZ but tomorrow going to city ABC and you want to search and book a restaurant in ABC for tomorrow is not a user friendly proposition. The same applies if your in a large city, NY, for example, but looking for a restaurant in a suburb or outlying city, very frustrating. It seems to default to current location which is only good if that’s where you’re trying to find a restaurant, otherwise a frustrating experience.
Disappointed
by llav1 on 2019/02/25 01:06
We have been coming to this location for quite some time. Things were rally off this time. The staff didn’t seem to have it together, service was slow, tables weren’t getting cleaned right away. When we sat at the bar prior to our reservation, the main bartender was rude to the 2 other gentleman behind the bar. No one seemed to work together. Typically even during busy times we are in and out. From the time we sat at our table and left it was almost 2 hours. We were sat in the worst possible seat in a high traffic area to the staff constantly walking by. We will not be visiting this location again. The lady manger (didn’t catch her name) was less than pleasant. Learn how to speak to customers. If you would have had a different approach, it wouldn’t have made things much better. We will drive the extra distance to either Schaumburg or oak brook on the future.

If you’re looking for delicious food, huge selection of beer and liquor, fun (lots of that), friendly wait staff and a clean bathroom, you found it. No need to go anyplace else. We met James behind the bar about 2 weeks ago. Even when we told him one of us is Italian and of of us is Jewish, he just couldn’t have been friendlier and we laughed, drank and ate for the entire time we were there. Went back last night and it was packed with everyone having a great time. I had pork schnitzel (I’m Jewish) and it was soooooo delicious. That’s my dish 4ever. Thanks James. See you before 6. Ready for some good laughs, food and beer. Skip the other places. THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE. 🍺🥃🍸🍷and 🏈

Merely Meh for actual help
by Penmanchip on 2018/07/07 00:34
I’m now joining the ranks of those who see this app flagging and less focused on the user experience, something that should reveal why such an app should be more useful and valuable in the first place, instead of less valuable and less relevant to user needs. And plus, a pet peeve is any app that offers rewards and then removes them with no notification, alleging inactivity. That’s funny, because I have confirmation numbers which validate activity. So here’s the thing OP. You have competitors and many of them are proving to be more genuine, viable and user friendly because they focus on what users actually want—-like a more nuanced search. So, if you cannot upgrade your app in those critical ways, then why should we choose you? You’re lost, OP, and you are losing us.
Greatest Restaurant App
by Giggly-girlie on 2017/10/01 16:36
We have used Open Table all over the country to find great restaurants of all food types and for all kinds of reasons. Whether we are looking for a fine dining experience to celebrate an occasion or a casual place for tasty basics, Open Table delivers. I also love the themed emails they send. They recently sent one about restaurants with great views. We happened to be going to Pittsburgh for a wedding and on their list were two restaurants. We ate at one of them and were thrilled with our choice. The view was spectacular and the food was out of this world. I use Open Table every chance I get and will continue to do so. Thanks, Open Table!
Horrible service, even for easy-going guests
by Taylor Bloom on 2018/12/09 02:20
We are easy-going guests. We are millennials. We don’t have a ton of money to spend. We tip 20% to everyone, even the person who just hands us a pre-made muffin. We can forgive, smile, and honestly chuckle at what many people today can’t stand for five seconds without taking to Nextdoor or Yelp to complain about. We have never left a negative review. We try to understand. But this dining experience was a disappointment on so many levels. We should have heeded the recent warnings by others but we hung on to the positive experience we had there (maybe by chance, who knows) last year. From nearly 30 minutes at our table without service and never knowing our waiter’s name, to then receiving a check for $35, giving our card and then receiving a charge for $75 without apology... yeah. Do not recommend, even if you are an “easy-going guest.”
The best dining reservation app
by ApertureXTC on 2018/02/10 05:56
I've used OpenTable multiple times on multiple locations. I have never had a problem with the restaurant saying that I did not have a reservation, and I have never had a problem with the application being able to find correct dates and times. This is probably the best application for restaurant explorers or foodies that is on the App Store. If you love to dine and have it be no stress this is a must-have app! Update: I recently bought an Apple Watch (Series 3) and the Open table app keeps saying I have to log in on my phone. I have logged out, then logged in, delete the app off the watch and the phone the reinstalled... still the watch app doesn’t work. A quick Google search shows this is a problem for a lot of people. I can not give this app 5 stars again until this is fixed.
Service?
by bcab51 on 2019/05/26 03:55
But he time for 7 PM for my wife and my son who is visiting us when we arrived at 6:55 we were placed outside and were told that there was a section to mark outside or inside which I still cannot find. Christian who took over for the new person basically told us that our 7 PM reservation was only good for outside and if we want to inside we would have to wait over an hour, he truly didn’t care about a 7 o’clock reservation there was a table in front of him when I asked he said it was for a group who had reserve a table at eight the assistant manager attempted to help but by that time my wife and son left I have no idea about the food since I never had an opportunity to try it I don’t place very many reviews but felt something had to be done this was terrible how they treated us I will not return and possibly they may understand that you cannot treat people like this.
New policy stinks
by Frusyrated1234321 on 2018/07/02 22:02
So, I have used open table for a long time with only a couple of glitches. Recently though, they changed their app so you actively must choose to receive points. Apparently, someone must have complained that points automatically accrue when you book and dine at a restaurant, because you now must choose to collect points each time. I was in a rush to book a table the other night and was wondering why, for a 2nd time, I didn’t receive points. That is so cheap and they should be embarrassed. I’m sure that they will cite some obscure paragraph in their terms and conditions. Glitches are one thing but purposely trying to keep you from accumulating points is another thing. It deserves one star but I like the app so I gave it three
Vibrant atmosphere and “old school” Italian
by 1970Fan on 2019/03/15 14:55
Bardea is the hottest spot on Market Street in Wilmington. The restaurant has a warm rustic interior, which lends itself to a louder, but not intrusive atmosphere. Much like dinning with a large Italian family during the holidays. The food is just like it came from you grandmothers kitchen, just plated more elegantly. The selection of small plates with appease everyone at the table. Must try’s are the Eggplant Parm and the Grilled Octopus. All are good, but these standout against the best I’ve had anywhere. Get anyone of the pizzas to share for the table as they are worth having a slice, but allowing yourself to enjoy a main dish. Best to dine with people who enjoy sharing. Well done.
Wonderful app for finding and reserving table
by CadillacDave on 2017/10/13 13:24
Open Table has been outstanding for making future reservations, and especially for finding a restaurant on short notice. Many times I've been in a group when we spontaneously decided to eat together. I have used Open Table on my iPhone to find a restaurant that could accommodate us at the time we needed. The restaurants included are all great. I haven't yet found a restaurant that I wanted for a reservation that Open Table didn't have in their database. Great app! UPDATE: Still works flawlessly! So easy to know you have a reservation set for the time you need it.
Deceiving - Did Not Receive Points
by Dankchi on 2018/09/22 23:53
I’ve been using OpenTable for quite sometime and have been receiving dining points however the last 3 restaurants I’ve visited I’ve received no points. I just thought those restaurants didn’t participate in OT’s dining points program until I became suspicious and stared to read some of the negative reviews. At some point, probably after an update or re-install OT now makes you turn ON dining points. Mine somehow by default was OFF. How deceitful is that!!! The negative reviews are accurate. Man, companies are getting sneaky. OpenTable is now on my list of Evil Companies. TURN ON DINING POINTS IN YOUR SETTINGS. Without dining points why use OpenTable? It’s actually sometimes an inconvenience. Several times I’ve seen no reservations available within the app however when I call the restaurant 9 times out of 10 they have tables available.
Like open table
by Near and far on 2017/12/26 11:13
Overall, I use open table consistently and therefore, I rack up points. It is an easy app to use and I find the choices and selection of restaurants varied and convenient. On this app. a great pizza joint can get 5 stars and an outstanding, full service restaurant can also get 5 stars so you have to discern what the 5 stars really mean. I also found getting the certificate to be a cumbersome and annoying process thereby getting a certificate or voucher is convoluted and you have to jump through hoops. Open Table needs to stream line the process to get certificates for dining once sufficient points are collected. The certificate program is an incentive and the downfall of the app.
Good and bad
by spraypaintedgold on 2018/01/24 02:23
As most everyone knows, open table is a convenient way to book tables or change/cancel your reservation. The app is well written with one glaring exception: it introduces extra steps to search if you don’t share your exact location with the company. A dining reservation app has no business knowing my real-time location, nor making it harder for me to book because I don’t share location data. I see many restaurants in my area are switching away from open table and it’s not hard to see why. Subscription fees, per-head fees, installation fees... this app raises costs for the restaurant industry and prices for patrons. If I’m a regular at a restaurant that subscribed to open table I’ll call them and forget about this app.
Easy to use, effective, and you get rewarded!
by gmagalla on 2019/01/15 02:23
Having an app that connects me to great food is important. The app is visually appealing and the process from selecting a restaurant and confirming your reservation is seamless. Also, you get reward points for doing what you have to normally do anyway! Why wouldn’t you take advantage!? I guess the one thing that takes one star away is that it isn’t the perfect app for discovering new food. Certainly, Yelp is probably better for that. Can’t blame Open Table too much since not every restaurant has the required technology/agrees to work with Open Table. Overall, if you plan on eating you somewhere, you should have this app!
Disappointed Anniversary
by beachlbc on 2019/07/12 03:16
We have been dining here since they moved from Canopy restaurant in town to Firefly on the beach. The food was ok. Our Wedge salad was lacking in bacon and tomatoes which use to be plentiful. Our main course was good. Several familiar items from before Hurricane Michael were not on the menu although the service is still excellent. We have dine here on several special occasions over the years and Canopy’s before that and were always treated with a dessert with our occasion written in chocolate on the dessert. Tonight was our 38th Anniversary. All We receive was a “ Happy Anniversary” from our waitress. I did not I feel like I had a fine dining experience tonight like I use to in years past. Very disappointed on our anniversary.
One big flaw and minor navigation issues
by Mycalls on 2017/12/27 20:29
I’ve only recently started using, but twice have found that restaurants may seem to have no availability, when in reality it’s only that they won’t take a reservation for a smaller party. This should be an easy fix, just change the message to be clear that it’s the party size and not the time that’s the issue, and that smaller parties are first come first served. The navigation could be improved too, I’m usually using when I already know where I want to go. Wish there was a way to integrate with phone numbers so you’d have contact info for when the restaurant ends up not being on Open Table at all. (Which seems to happen more often than not for me.)
Be careful how you use this app. They are sneaky
by DufferJ on 2019/01/03 23:49
Its ok for reservations but the sneaky developers just added a toggle for you to ‘opt-in’ on receiving points. Then they make it difficult to redeem. Far cry from the original concept and the app developer actually treats you as the enemy rather than streamline and make it easier to use. They change terms and conditions often requiring to keep an eye on uses. Make sure you are awarded your points and keep your receipt. These folks make it very hard to collect points if the restaurant forgets to credit you. 2019 Update: this company makes it so difficult to redeem points, gift points that it makes you wonder why you even use the app. To the Developer: your Customer Service, responses, replies are very poor. Either use a call center and stop hiding behind email or watch members drop you.
Multiple bugs and user unfriendliness
by PlasmaNM on 2018/07/07 19:21
The latest update is incompatible with iOS. The layout of search results now requires a LOT of effort to get to a listing of restaurants. Perhaps GREED has taken over and they are having restaurants pay them more to appear in a VERY SHORT and USER UNFRIENDLY list. The layout makes it EXTREMELY difficult to navigate to the broader list. Likewise, there is a bug in viewing reservations, with regards to iOS systems. Instead of offering a back arrow, the stupid programmers have you swipe down! Any sensible programmer would have realized that this pulls down the notification toolbar in ALL iOS systems. The only option to get back to the home screen is to KILL THE APP and restart it! Downright dumb!! Similarly, in the AppStore, the stupid programmers have redirected the “report problem” to loading up the home screen of the App. Seriously, programmers, did you ever beta test this? As a manager of multimillion dollar programs, I would be firing several people if I were there. The gold rule of “if it ain’t broke...” is clearly the last thing on these programmers minds. The current failures do not portend well for Opentable’s future. I certainly will seek out other options as the “benefits” do not scale with the pain of this app.
Disappointed
by Fine dining fan on 2018/12/26 21:51
Seriously, for a service that is so popular - and I am a very frequent user - your website is absolutely abysmal. The navigation is terrible, particularly when booking multiple reservations in one session. Once a reservation is completed, you need to essentially start over with the one page. A more sensible approach would be to ask the user if they would like to make another reservation. In addition, there is minimal context about “me” reflected in my searches. It seems as if I always need to remind the site of my primary location and preferences. There are many other aspects that need work. I am confident you hear this from many other users, so I am shocked that there is never any improvement. There are other competitors coming along and I would strongly advise you to address the site issues.

Service was wonderful, there were 8 of us and we were seated at a small round table. The filet not worth the money scallops were tough and over cooked.

Just ok
by L.Noury on 2019/10/20 21:25
A recently changed menu threw us off but we found something on the brunch menu even though it was dinner time.
Awesome

Not great
by 68sicktomystomach on 2019/10/20 03:40
Not a great experience.

Plus it automatically puts the reservation in your calendar, eliminating any problem. Open Table is the easiest to use, and the best!

Open Table has made making reservations for me so convenient and simple. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s never failed for birthdays, anniversaries and just hanging out. Even when I’m out of town.
Always amazing

The food is so fantastic, technically perfectly prepared, interesting fresh flavors. Fourth time and still fantastic. Wish I lived here.
Don’t waste your time!

Booked a week ago arrived early to sit and enjoy a drink at the bar finished at bar 10 minutes after our reservation expecting that our table was held for us. We were led to a table in hallway next to bathroom. We went back to bar Really upset This restaurant always a must when coming to Saratoga Will miss it

Thank you for having this app that makes it so convenient to make reservations! It is always on my list of “favorite things!”

With so many excellent choices in New Orleans give this over rated restaurant a pass.

by linny_45 on 2019/10/10 01:09
After confirming my reservation the evening before via a text the restaurant sent, I still had to wait 30 minutes before getting seated at our table.

🍺🥃🍸🍷and 🏈
Choo Choo Crafted Cocktails
by SheFolAZ on 2019/10/19 04:45
Positives: Fun and novel experience!
