There is always a problem with the app. In the last year, the whole program has become even less user friendly, I can’t access half of the pertinent information.

Slow and Constant Password/Token Issues

The app app is very easy to use and the UI is nice. It’s major downfall though is its speed. Every time you launch it or even open it after it’s been running in the background it takes upwards of 45 seconds to load (this is not an internet connection or internet speed issue). Navigating to anything takes this long to load. Not to mention when you do open the app about every other try it logs you out or says there was a token issue. It could be great, but these issues are too major to ignore. It’s 2019, you guys can’t make things load faster/work more reliably?

This company gets worse with every update which should not be the case. You reach out to their customer service team and you get a typical corporate response like “Updates are meant to improve usability” if that was the case you wouldn’t be getting complaints about them. Stop making things more complicated and leave it alone!

It will lock you out with an incorrect password, even if it’s correct, every time a new update comes out. It’d be nice to just be prompted to update instead of being told my correct password is wrong.

I absolutely hate this app. Unfortunately I have to use it because my job requires me to. But it ALWAYS logs me out, it crashes every time I’m using it, takes forever to load. Honestly if there was an option to opt out of using this horrible thing I would. Developers really need to step it up. I never write reviews but this app drove me to do it, and I’ve been using this so called app for 5 years already, and it has gotten worse with every update they put out. Why does it have to log me out EVERY SINGLE TIME I leave the app? I really wish my job would switch to something different. I’m sorry for the new users that have to download this for work, just be prepared to live with unnecessary aggravations HotSchedules will give you. It’s not even worth the price, this is really disappointing and it’s just horrible.

I have to have this app for work, or I could use the website, which isn’t any better. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have to login! EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!! What a piece of crap app. Wish I could get my 3 buck back. Could be a good app, if there wasn’t so many issues with logging in and keeping the password saved. Looks like almost EVERY review talks about the token issue, and yet here we are with a half assed app that my employer makes me use. SMDH

Here’s what would be stellar, if you could merge multiple jobs and locations onto 1 account. In college I had 3 different jobs, and had to have 3 separate HS accounts to view the schedules. Why can’t I put them all into the same account and then have a drop down menu where I can decide which schedule to view? Instead I’m forced to have 1 open in the app, and then log into my interest browser to view the other 2. Very inconvenient. Also, every update causes password and log in issues. Not exactly what you want to have when something is involving your work schedule.......

I realize we complain but the urgency to fix anything is minimal seeing as how we need this app for our jobs. 1) multiple job log-in. Come on! An account is an account. How is it that you can’t link them? 2) holy updates of not changing much. Really necessary? If so, tell us why, even the under the surface stuff. Help silence the peanut gallery. 3) the new method of entering availability is a bit wack. I’m trying to be as efficient and clear as possible for both jobs and it’s caused some conflicts. 4) am I missing a setting to see coworker’s phone numbers? 1/2 my coworkers say they can see each other’s on the app, 1/2 don’t. Curious how to fix it. 5) thanks for your hard work!

Only thing I ever could find wrong with this app is that it very randomly will log me out ever two or three days and force me to log back in, despite still receiving notifications and it’s just blatantly annoying

It’s ridiculous how much HotSchedules doesn’t care about the functionality. They gave it yet another facelift instead of actually addressing the multitude of problems, such as pages not loading or taking 5 minutes to load, logging me out EVERY TIME I close and reopen the app, not to mention all of the times it’s deleted my schedule that I had posted for my employees. Please, do not be fooled by them. If I had a choice, I would NEVER use HotSchedules ever again after dealing with the same nonsense for over 3 years. If you are a business owner, do not, I repeat, DO NOT choose this as your scheduling platform. You are better suited using good old fashioned pen and paper. FIX YOUR ISSUES NOW!

I think this app is great, it’s always been my favorite. Every time I have a job that uses hot schedules it makes my life so much easier, but I have two jobs that’s use hot schedules and it’s really irritating not being able to merge them. I don’t want to have a completely new user and password and log in and out every day. Get it together hot schedules.

A Manager’s Perspective

Despite the constant token and password word issues with every update, only half the reason why I gave two stars, I really like this app. It makes it super easy to leave notes for my fellow managers, to send messages to my employees via the app or to contact them by phone or text. The other reason I gave only two stars is this: There is no way for me to write my schedule on the app. The only way I can do that is to sit down at a computer and use the HS website. Being a manager sometimes I do not have the time to sit at a computer down to write my schedule. How great would it be if I didn’t have to be tethered to a desktop or have to lug my laptop around with me? It’d be awesome! I could do a little bit here, a little there. This would free me up to be able to do the schedule anywhere since I always have my phone.

This app would have so much more potential if it wouldn’t need an update literally every week just to be functional. Crashes very often and signs me out randomly. Servers are always slow retrieving data. The availability option for work is VERY buggy even after all of the updates. It adds in random days of availability I have not selected after I submit the form. Not worth the 3 dollars I payed for it.

I so miss this scheduling app. It’s so simple and easy to navigate. You can also have it sync with your google calendar and it will send you reminders for your work shifts. I miss it :(

app is prone to constant crashes, refuses to save login info - occasionally keeps my username, but only occasionally. every crash, logged out. every notification, logged out. it doesn’t matter how recently i was on the app. If i checked my schedule and 25 minutes later i got a notification it was modified, i’d be logged out without ever completely closing the app.

The iPad version of this app is indeed much more powerful than its iPhone counterpart, but still has a long ways to go if one is considering a tablet as a total computer replacement. There is no solution for creating/copying/posting schedules, and using the HS schedule via browser on the iPad is frustrating to say the least. What we need is a pro-level app for tablet users, or a specific manager app that offers these tools. Some minor UI adjustments would be welcome as well, making better use of the screen real estate offered on the iPad. Amendment: Why did the most recent update take away the timeline roster report that was unique to the iPad experience? This was so intuitive and helpful and really set the iPad experience apart from the website and/or the iPhone app. Another update: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner: it doesn’t seem the iPad app supports split screen on the iPad. MAJOR BUMMER HERE.

This use to be the best and easiest scheduling app and I loved having it for work. Now every single time I try to look at my schedule I have to re-sign in. I’ve updated in several times and it still hasn’t been fixed. NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY

Access to the dashboard stopped working about three months ago. The app will timeout after a while if you try to access it. A calendar for management to log important events for the restaurant would be extremely useful. It makes no sense that I have to scroll through every day of the month to try and find a note about an upcoming event when a calendar showing the events would solve the problem.

I’ve always loved using HS, but I’m guessing the most recent update took away the feature to be able to see crew hours for the week under the roster tab. We previously used it to see who was getting close to overtime, and it isn’t displayed anymore as of recently.

I’ve read the same similar issue happening for others in other reviews too but for me it keeps saying incorrect username and password when NEITHER are incorrect because 1 i go to the website and login and it works fine and 2 I’ve never changed my password so there’s really no reason for it to be saying “correct” for an app I payed for I’m expecting better

I absolutely hate having to re-downlod the app EVERY time there's a minor update, where most of the time you don't even feel anything change. And this is almost every (other) month. Why not just have all the versions be compatible and let the users choose to update at their own pace /convenience? It's such a hassle.

Every time I’m in a new area traveling I know it’s just going to freak out every time so I try to wait to open the app when I’m hooked up to my usual towers or WiFi. Don’t ask me why this would ever matter but the pattern is there.

I have had this app for nearly 6 years now and it has been such a wonderful program, but with the update about 4 months ago it has gone completely in the trash. I can barely find my schedule, logging in is a chore, the whole layout of the app is a mess. Change it back or something comparable please. Until then, trash.

Just to set this straight, something has to piss me off REALLY bad in order for me to review anything. First off, the app can’t remember my login info. Even after clicking the check button for it to remember my login info. Second, this app doesn’t have an “easy to understand” layout, especially when having to accept new terms and conditions. There is just so much that the developers could easily change to make this app easy, after all, it’s for work, right? I don’t feel like the app I’m REQUIRED to use by my employer, needs to be so difficult. All I need is to check my schedule, and they’ve really made it difficult to do that with this app.

New update a few days ago, has made this app inconvenient, and not useful. I have to go to my computer to use it, instead of my iPhone. I have to sign in and out over and over again, and I cant compose messages to my coworkers because the app screen is all messed up. Fix it, It’s horrible.

Trying to be the leader in their field but can’t seem to do it right. How about perfecting each thing you want to do before introducing to the public? Everyday there’s some kind of bug or app crash that affects the original function and reason why EVERYBODY uses your app in the first place. Totally clunky update that makes the login process ridiculous by making you log in twice and then once logged in the interface is in a browser format that makes just the task of looking at your work schedule arduous. It was great before the merger with Clarifi and all the mypass nonsense.

The newest update or possibly a glitch has made the app open up to the online version. Which considering I paid for the app is very inconvenient and it won’t upload to my iPhone calendar anymore.

The newest update changed the entire format of the schedule. Rather than being a compact schedule it’s blown up and hard to read. It also requires me to login every single time I open the app. Sometimes it makes me re-login while I’m on my schedule because it says the login expired.

Worst update ever. Takes 4 minutes to open up my schedule after aleasys inputting my user name and password 2x. Once at the beginning of the app opening. And one 2 min later when it loads the My Pass Screen. What’s the point of clicking remember me if it won’t remember your user name ? Terrible app as of December 2018 updates.

I loved how easy to use this app was. Now that you’ve updated however it seems that I’m being taken to the website instead of the old app version which makes everything very difficult to navigate on a mobile device. I really loved this app and it made it so easy to check my schedule. It’s too bad it’s so difficult to use now, as they say, don’t fix things if they aren’t broken.

Data doesn’t seem to reside in your phone. The program want’s me to register n put a user name and password although I am the sole user of this phone. I needed a program that launched solely in my phone and that my data doesn’t go to the cloud. DON’T BUY if you care for your personal data.

My company recently switched to a more "organized" scheduling system. So, I said oh how convenient, an app! Paid $3 logged in one time, it updated and I forgot my password and the option to send reset password link does not work. So I am unable to check my schedule and I'm out $3. Thanks for nothing.

token and password issues EVERY update. plus the location is always messed up (you should make it with option to set location) so we can set a location for calendar sync. {and speaking of sync every time app is foreground it resyncs pushing calendar entries} Edit{} well now I'm not getting my calendar spammed but my password again occasionally doesn't verify at all through app unless i re download it fresh. This isnt a typing issue I'm using a saved password entry. This compounded an issue where this past Saturday a scheduled shift did not sync to my calendar at all. The email notification had it and online website had it but the calendar sync omitted Saturday but not Friday not Sunday. Look I paid for this app like everyone else but it LACKS the Website’s BASIC pickup shift features, but its ability to sync was its saving grace but you guys have now made it to where i cannot trust that it has synced. Further to complicate things was i was unable to login to the app to even verify the error. How the heck does one data point get omitted.

I hate the mobile and desktop updates where you no longer are able to “view entire schedule” on a one-page grid. I have been using hotschedules since 2015 and this update happened some time within the last year. Not practical for the user to click into each shift to see who is working on each shift instead of overseeing the week on one grid. Need to allow the option to see entire schedule again without clicking into 14 separate shifts to see a 7-day schedule.

This app is incredibly slow and clearly has bugs in it constantly. I’ve never written a review in my life, but this app is honestly so irritating and not worth buying. You’re better off just going to the hot schedules website. I have no idea how this app has a good rating on here.

Half the time I try and use this app, there’s always some error. But when it decides to actually work, it takes forever to load. All these updates keeps saying “fix bug issues” and all it does is make it worst.

token and password issues EVERY update. plus the location is always messed up (you should make it with option to set location) so we can set a location for calendar sync. {and speaking of sync every time app is foreground it resyncs pushing calendar entries} Edit{} well now I'm not getting my calendar spammed but my password again occasionally doesn't verify at all through app unless i re download it fresh. This isnt a typing issue I'm using a saved password entry. This compounded an issue where this past Saturday a scheduled shift did not sync to my calendar at all. The email notification had it and online website had it but the calendar sync omitted Saturday but not Friday not Sunday. Look I paid for this app like everyone else but it LACKS the Website’s BASIC pickup shift features, but its ability to sync was its saving grace but you guys have now made it to where i cannot trust that it has synced. Further to complicate things was i was unable to login to the app to even verify the error. How the heck does one data point get omitted.

As a user why can i not login to see my schedule? Oh, right, because hotschedules did yet ANOTHER nonsense update, and without downloading the update you cant login. What is so critically important that this app has to be updated twice a month or more? It’s like mission impossible, only “your schedule, if you choose to accept it, is...(every normal day)... this schedule will self destruct in 10 days (when we update the app for no apparent reason) ...” What could possibly be so critically important and secure about my stupid work schedule that it needs to update so often???? Thus losing my login data each time, thus making me download a new version (needing wifi) and requiring me re-verify my identity and password each time I use it? It’s annoying. It’s just giving me access to my dumb work schedule and not anything important like my bank account or a government secret agency mission impossible whatever geez

Despite the constant token and password word issues with every update, only half the reason why I gave two stars, I really like this app. It makes it super easy to leave notes for my fellow managers, to send messages to my employees via the app or to contact them by phone or text. The other reason I gave only two stars is this: There is no way for me to write my schedule on the app. The only way I can do that is to sit down at a computer and use the HS website. Being a manager sometimes I do not have the time to sit at a computer down to write my schedule. How great would it be if I didn’t have to be tethered to a desktop or have to lug my laptop around with me? It’d be awesome! I could do a little bit here, a little there. This would free me up to be able to do the schedule anywhere since I always have my phone.

it’s so confusing to put in a new availability: what happened to lunch/dinner shifts? Now I have to include time specific on-times? What if I can work lunch starting after 11:00a, and dinner by needing to be on by 5:00p? How do I input that? 11-5 as my availability? no, because now I’m only being scheduled between those hours and not getting approved to pickup shifts outside of that time frame. Go back to how it used to be, I never knew anyone complaining about your app or system. And its horrible trying to request time off, the old version was so much simpler and so much easier to look at. Now you can’t edit individual days with in your request, you either have to delete the WHOLE request and pray that it gets approved again, or pray that someone will release a shift on the day you can work again. It’s so restrictive and complicated. When it comes to work schedules, we want simple and flexible. What are you guys doing with hotschedules?! If this wasn’t a necessary app for my job, I would delete this new-version revamped atrocity of a system. and that makes me bummed because I was practically your biggest fan back in the day, with the green color scheme. :/

Easy to use app, makes life so much easier to have your schedule and manipulate it easily. Three suggestions (requests to the developers actually): 1) allow people to create an auto pick-up from the "my schedule" page. It would be a LOT easier to create these when you can see the holes in your schedule (maybe even on the schedule page put "auto pick up set" for the shifts you're hoping to get?) 2) allow notifications for when a shift gets released that you're not already scheduled for. 3) when you're on the "my schedule" page and click on a specific shift, it shows you who is working that shift and who isn't (brilliant) BUT, from there, allow the option to send a message to ONLY the people working that shift (like - hey anyone want tonight off?) AND be able to send a message to ONLY the people not working that shift (ie. hey can someone work for me tonight) instead of having to go to the messages center, select individual people or blast everyone on the whole team. Thank you!

I absolutely hate this app. Unfortunately I have to use it because my job requires me to. But it ALWAYS logs me out, it crashes every time I’m using it, takes forever to load. Honestly if there was an option to opt out of using this horrible thing I would. Developers really need to step it up. I never write reviews but this app drove me to do it, and I’ve been using this so called app for 5 years already, and it has gotten worse with every update they put out. Why does it have to log me out EVERY SINGLE TIME I leave the app? I really wish my job would switch to something different. I’m sorry for the new users that have to download this for work, just be prepared to live with unnecessary aggravations HotSchedules will give you. It’s not even worth the price, this is really disappointing and it’s just horrible.

The reviewers who cavil about minutiae are probably unrealistic; what do you expect for $3? It’s a brilliant app, and well worth its price. I can see who isn’t working (to swap shifts), negotiate all sorts of deals, message w/o having a phone number, and managers can approve shifts IMMEDIATELY. I used to manage schedules new-old school with Excel. While HS’s features are still clunky, they’re an improvement in design and speed. I would hope at some point that HS would work in an algorithm to automate staff shift rotations, but with all these features, and for its current price, this app is well worth its value.

Great app, extremely simple set up that is easy to navigate to whatever I’m looking for. Also my favorite part is the updates. Whomever does the thought of the weeks deserves a raise. And a promotion. Heck just give me an update every week so I can see those! Updated comment: I wrote this review almost a year ago, and guys they still do the thought of the week. Did that guy get his raise? Seriously send him my way if you don’t just so I can pay him to make one does me every day. Great app. Easy to use. And updates are still perfect!!!!

I’ve been using this app for probably 4 years now for work... and It’s always been awesome until the latest update. Everything was so simple and easy to look at. Now, making your availability makes absolutely no sense. For some reason it says you can create different weekly availabilities for each day, and figuring out how to get my shifts I want has felt near impossible. This update has caused so many problems for me and my managers. I was scheduled outside of my availability last week and had to miss my night class to come into work. Why did the availability section have to change? I don’t understand. Why mess with a good thing. Please, for the sake of me and so many others change it back to the way it used to be. I’d be happy to leave an awesome review if you did lol.

I wasn’t going to buy this app because the website is actually quite good. Colleagues of mine said they loved it so I paid the $3. Once I logged in I first thought the app had redirected me to Safari and to the desktop version of the program, but quickly realized thats essentially what the app was... a link. I could very easily just make a shortcut for the website into an app for my iPhone for free. Seems amazing that there are still apps like this that haven’t been updated to be more user friendly for tablets and phones. I’ll probably still use the app because it’s a link to my schedule but I’m not happy about it. I’d give the program itself 5* but the app 1* so people can read what they’re actually getting for their money.

So my work uses hot schedules and it is one of the easiest apps to use. My managers recommended that I purchase the app and I recommend the same to all new hires. My reasoning for writing this review is to suggest that you show the scheduled hours for the work week for the employee, because I know for the manager side it does show that. My work wants us to be conscious of our own overtime and sometimes it hard to see if I’ll hit it if I pick up a released shift. It would be great if you guys added this to the next update 🙏🏻

I have been using this app a little over a year and I love it but this new update is very confusing. It won’t say the end times for my shifts so I never know if I work 6 hours 8 hours etc and I like being able to know how many hours I’m working that day. The only way I can check for the end times for my shift is if I go online not through the app which is a bit annoying since I did pay for the app for the convenience of not having to go through all that logging in. Other than that great app, just a small issue of the times it shows.

Here’s what would be stellar, if you could merge multiple jobs and locations onto 1 account. In college I had 3 different jobs, and had to have 3 separate HS accounts to view the schedules. Why can’t I put them all into the same account and then have a drop down menu where I can decide which schedule to view? Instead I’m forced to have 1 open in the app, and then log into my interest browser to view the other 2. Very inconvenient. Also, every update causes password and log in issues. Not exactly what you want to have when something is involving your work schedule.......

It would be amazing if there were any option to see which employees are off for the whole day and not just AM or PM shifts. Everytime I need to check to see who's off, I have to keep switching back and for between shifts for that day just to see who's available to work. If we were to ever get an option like that, it would also be nice if there were any option to "message all who are available for shifts today". It would make functionality much easier! Other than that, no complaints 👏🏻
Mail feature needs work

Seems like I never get notifications from the app itself. When my employer emails me, I get a notification from Gmail but not one from the HotSchedules app. I’ve gone into the settings for HotSchedules just to realize that every thing is activated to notify me, yet still it is not doing that. The little red bubble you see on most apps, that tells you how many emails you have waiting for before you even open up the app, doesn’t seem to exist on this app. It would be nice if they can make it have the same standard set of features that most other email applications out there have. Lastly, even after the app is open, the little envelope icon doesn’t indicate any difference at all. So an email could be waiting for you and you would never notice it. That icon should also have a number next to it letting you know how many new emails you have. Hope The team at HotSchedules finds this feedback useful, Cheers

I like this app, it makes it easy to know when I work and where I'm scheduled to work. My only complaint is that when I go to view someone else's shift (to either swap or pick it up), it says what time their shift starts, but it doesn't say what time it ends! If I want to know a person's full shift time I have to go to the website, and that kind of ruins the point of having the app--I got it so I wouldn't have to go onto my laptop all the time. The app was supposed to make it easier and more convenient for me!!

Hey! I would love if there was a way to schedule recurring availability complications, such as not being able to work until after 5 a few days of the week. Right now I can only make schedule adjustments for 4 different weeks, which is frustrating when I know I'm going to have the same days off x numbers of weeks in advance. Also, being able to edit the availability rather than having to delete it and redo it entirely anytime something comes up would be helpful.

It’s ridiculous how much HotSchedules doesn’t care about the functionality. They gave it yet another facelift instead of actually addressing the multitude of problems, such as pages not loading or taking 5 minutes to load, logging me out EVERY TIME I close and reopen the app, not to mention all of the times it’s deleted my schedule that I had posted for my employees. Please, do not be fooled by them. If I had a choice, I would NEVER use HotSchedules ever again after dealing with the same nonsense for over 3 years. If you are a business owner, do not, I repeat, DO NOT choose this as your scheduling platform. You are better suited using good old fashioned pen and paper. FIX YOUR ISSUES NOW!

The iPad version of this app is indeed much more powerful than its iPhone counterpart, but still has a long ways to go if one is considering a tablet as a total computer replacement. There is no solution for creating/copying/posting schedules, and using the HS schedule via browser on the iPad is frustrating to say the least. What we need is a pro-level app for tablet users, or a specific manager app that offers these tools. Some minor UI adjustments would be welcome as well, making better use of the screen real estate offered on the iPad. Amendment: Why did the most recent update take away the timeline roster report that was unique to the iPad experience? This was so intuitive and helpful and really set the iPad experience apart from the website and/or the iPhone app. Another update: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner: it doesn’t seem the iPad app supports split screen on the iPad. MAJOR BUMMER HERE.

The app serves its purpose quiet well but the reason it has earned such a review is the lack of management nearly every week for as long as I can remember there has been at least one update of this app which requires you to re log in which in all honestly may be a small hiccup maybe 1 minute of time but it does get quiet tiring as time goes on I’ve used this app where I worked for four and a half years now and it gets the job done but it’s the only app on my home screen that requires so much routine maintenance which is especially confusing since the only real major change that’s happened in the time I’ve used it was a primary color change from green to blue So let your product work and instead of doing a million small updates how about you compile the bug fix’s and role um out all in one update at the start or end of every month KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YALL!!!

I’ve used hot schedules with my company for the last 4 years. The first few years were great. No issues and no confusion. The last several updates have created so many issues. More often than not, dropped shifts don’t show, auto pickup/drop doesn’t work and the way you now have to input your availability is just silly. Please fix the kinks. If the released shifts could always show up and never disappear (unless pickup and approves) it would definitely go up in stars and I’d have more faith. There have also been times where my schedule was completely different than what was in my manager’s hot schedule.

Overall a great app but there was a recent update that won’t allow you to see released shifts on shifts that I have requested off. Just because I request off, doesn’t mean I may not change my mind and want to pick up a shift. I also wish there was full capability with the auto pickup feature. The desktop version allows you to customize which shifts, sections, and people you want to pick up from, but the app won’t let you!

I love this app! It’s easy to use and convenient. BUT to make it better, you should be able to combine schedules from different jobs. Or see both. I work for 2 companies that use this and it is so time consuming and annoying to have one schedule only on my browser, and one schedule in the app! Should make a way to view more than one schedule in the app!! Would make it so much easier and better.
Good app but eliminated key feature

I greatly miss being able to see what order you are for request offs for a specific date and the number of requests for that date as well. It used to say you are 2 of 10 or 3 of 5, etc. It was extremely helpful to plan for specific days to request time off instead of constantly bugging my managers to tell me how many requests there are to plan for vacations, etc.

Two job accessibility

I love the app. The only thing I wish for, is to be able to have two different jobs logged in and to be able to switch back and forth between the two jobs without having to log out of one job and back in to the other to see one or the other schedules. This app is great very easy to use if just checking schedules or looking up employees phone numbers. What would earn this app five stars would be the ability to make schedule changes as well as a better over look of the posted schedule of all employees for a specific day. All in all it was money well spent makes it much easier then trying to use the webpage!

The app says that it is not longer supported by the device but I am unable to download the new version from my App Store. The browser version isn’t working either and I’m stuck with having to harass my managers for scheduling conflict when things shouldn’t be as complicated. HotSchedules you’re failing on your mission! I usually don’t post negative reviews but I keep encountering technical issues with the app AND website and I came to a point of ultimate frustration. Don’t waste your time and money on HS.

Love this app but why oh why does my schedule all the sudden show up on both the calendars I use (including the Apple calendar) like 25 times? I'm saying my 2pm-12am schedule shows up 25+ times. I'm sure it's user error but I get 25 reminders every day for the 25 entries to my calendar.. and it's only my schedule doing this not other entries (which are lost in a see of schedules). It didn't do that before so I'm wondering if it's a bug?

My job just switched apps and so I’m coming from another scheduling app and I don’t like how all the open shifts and your schedule are mixed together. I wish there was a tab where you could see just the open shifts and another where you can see a brief summary of what days you work. Also an email when someone puts up their shift so we can be notified ASAP if we chose to. I do like how you can see the staff and who is not working that day.

I have had hot schedules for three different jobs and it really depends on what version your company has. It would also be nice to be able to switch accounts without logging in and logging out so like Twitter or Instagram you can switch to your other account quickly and easily hot schedule does not allow that. That should be on their next update.

When you read the updates, they have a thought of the week, and it feels like someone was really high when they write them. It’s probably the only I really enjoy using the app. Along with seeing shifts and work stuff it’s pretty useful. The thought of the week really trips me out sometimes.

This app is the least user friendly app I’ve ever seen. Firstly, if you work for more than one place, you can’t keep all your schedules within the same account. You literally have to have a separate account for each job. Secondly, it crashes constantly. Third, there is no way to change your personal info within the app. Lastly, if you have performance issues, the support will send you back one email that has nothing to do with your issues, and offers no help at all. This app is really terrible. All thumbs down.

I never write reviews, but after trying to log into my app for the seventh time after time is me out and says “I took to long and “I’m really frustrated and don’t know what to do. My work has called and complained and got no response back from the developer. So I’m hoping to take to the reviews to shed some light. I can’t login under general login, I can only logged under my pass. And my past won’t let me login. If I could refund this purchase I would. Never used to be like this, I don’t know what happened or what they were thinking

The new versions of the app logs me out every single day. It's very inconvenient especially because everyday it asks me to log in, change my password, and then log in again. Multiple log ins are absolutely unnecessary, I'm just trying to see what time I have to go into work. Please fix this. I shouldn't need three pages of log ins just to get into my account. I'm convinced that Trump's twitter account has less security than my hot schedules app.

I think this app is great, it’s always been my favorite. Every time I have a job that uses hot schedules it makes my life so much easier, but I have two jobs that’s use hot schedules and it’s really irritating not being able to merge them. I don’t want to have a completely new user and password and log in and out every day. Get it together hot schedules.

I think the app works great the way it is, but my only suggestion for auto pick up is instead of having to go to the menu then selecting pickup/release and selecting a date, on the main screen (your schedule) click the day and shift you want to pick up/release

It’s not enough that you have to pay $2.99 for this app after my boss already paid for it but the app DOES NOT WORK. You can’t see when your shift ends and you can’t see your coworkers schedules so trading shifts or trying to get a shift covered is a nightmare. AND you can’t request a day off if it’s more than 4 weeks away. Why wouldn’t you and your scheduler want to be on the same page in terms of vacation days. This app isn’t user friendly and I can’t imagine it making sense for any business model. Try again.

Access to the dashboard stopped working about three months ago. The app will timeout after a while if you try to access it. A calendar for management to log important events for the restaurant would be extremely useful. It makes no sense that I have to scroll through every day of the month to try and find a note about an upcoming event when a calendar showing the events would solve the problem.
The Worst Work Scheduling App

I’ve had multiple jobs– which means I’ve had the opportunity to try other apps to figure out my schedule. I had to PAY for this one and it’s by far the WORST one. Homebase is FREE and way more efficient. This app always logs me out, the entire layout just looks half-assed, and as of right now it’s not even letting me log into my account. If you are an employer considering on using this for your employees, forget about it. Homebase is so much better and on top of that it’ll save the times you clock in & clock out at work too! You could also message your coworkers through the app in a normal fashion, not like some kind of announcement board. Homebase even shows you the amount of hours in total hours you’ve worked, which day you started, etc. I’d stop using this app if I could but I have to because of my job.

I don’t have as many problems with this app as other people, it works just fine for me but the new update has taken away the feature that tells us how long our shift is? For example, it would say 1:00-9:00 but now it just says 1:00 and doesn’t show me the ending time at all, like what? Who thought that was a good idea? It shows up on the website but not the app so basically I paid $2.99 for absolutely nothing.

I wish this app worked well for us. I also wish I hadn’t paid 2.99 for it. I have always used When I Work as my scheduling app before this transition. This app fails in so many ways. Not only has it limited my interaction with my managers but it has made it completely impossible to make the required switches and drops. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. My large workplace/coworkers are in the process of paying out of pocket to have When I work because hot schedules doesn’t work for the restaurant industry

I like hot schedules for the most part. I just wish there was more manager functions we can do on our phone, mobile app or iPad rather than having to be right at a computer. I can’t make any schedule changes from these other devices. Otherwise, I probably would give it a 5 if it did those things.
Available To Pick Up Shift

It would be awesome to have a feature that once schedules are posted it allows us to notify other coworkers that you’re available to pick up a shift either AM or PM or both. That way when someone releases a shift the app can tell the person who has the feeler out so they can snag it. All around nice app to have for work.

The whole idea behind hotschedules is supposed to be conveniency but this app is anything but that. What's the point of having a "remember me" option if it's still going to make me log back in EVERY SINGLE TIME the app gets minimized for 2 seconds or god forbid my phone screen goes to sleep. That's if the app even lets you login in the first place, lately almost every time I try I get an error message saying that I took too long to login; apparently the 20 seconds it takes to retype my information isn't fast enough.

Slow and Constant Password/Token Issues

The app app is very easy to use and the UI is nice. It’s major downfall though is its speed. Every time you launch it or even open it after it’s been running in the background it takes upwards of 45 seconds to load (this is not an internet connection or internet speed issue). Navigating to anything takes this long to load. Not to mention when you do open the app about every other try it logs you out or says there was a token issue. It could be great, but these issues are too major to ignore. It’s 2019, you guys can’t make things load faster/work more reliably?

You reach out to their customer service team and you get a typical corporate response like “Updates are meant to improve usability” if that was the case you wouldn’t be getting complaints about them. I absolutely hate this app. Unfortunately I have to use it because my job requires me to. But it ALWAYS logs me out, it crashes every time I’m using it, takes forever to load. Honestly if there was an option to opt out of using this horrible thing I would. Developers really need to step it up. I never write reviews but this app drove me to do it, and I’ve been using this so called app for 5 years already, and it has gotten worse with every update they put out. Why does it have to log me out EVERY SINGLE TIME I leave the app? I really wish my job would switch to something different. I’m sorry for the new users that have to download this for work, just be prepared to live with unnecessary aggravations HotSchedules will give you. It’s not even worth the price, this is really disappointing and it’s just horrible.

Here’s what would be stellar, if you could merge multiple jobs and locations onto 1 account. In college I had 3 different jobs, and had to have 3 separate HS accounts to view the schedules. Why can’t I put them all into the same account and then have a drop down menu where I can decide which schedule to view? Instead I’m forced to have 1 open in the app, and then log into my interest browser to view the other 2. Very inconvenient. Also, every update causes password and log in issues. Not exactly what you want to have when something is involving your work schedule.......

I realize we complain but the urgency to fix anything is minimal seeing as how we need this app for our jobs. 1) multiple job log-in. Come on! An account is an account. How is it that you can’t link them? 2) holy updates of not changing much. Really necessary? If so, tell us why, even the under the surface stuff. Help silence the peanut gallery. 3) the new method of entering availability is a bit wack. I’m trying to be as efficient and clear as possible for both jobs and it’s caused some conflicts. 4) am I missing a setting to see coworker’s phone numbers? 1/2 my coworkers say they can see each other’s on the app, 1/2 don’t. Curious how to fix it. 5) thanks for your hard work!

It’s ridiculous how much HotSchedules doesn’t care about the functionality. They gave it yet another facelift instead of actually addressing the multitude of problems, such as pages not loading or taking 5 minutes to load, logging me out EVERY TIME I close and reopen the app, not to mention all of the times it’s deleted my schedule that I had posted for my employees. Please, do not be fooled by them. If I had a choice, I would NEVER use HotSchedules ever again after dealing with the same nonsense for over 3 years. If you are a business owner, do not, I repeat, DO NOT choose this as your scheduling platform. You are better suited using good old fashioned pen and paper. FIX YOUR ISSUES NOW!

I think this app is great, it’s always been my favorite. Every time I have a job that uses hot schedules it makes my life so much easier, but I have two jobs that’s use hot schedules and it’s really irritating not being able to merge them. I don’t want to have a completely new user and password and log in and out every day. Get it together hot schedules.

A Manager’s Perspective

Despite the constant token and password word issues with every update, only half the reason why I gave two stars, I really like this app. It makes it super easy to leave notes for my fellow managers, to send messages to my employees via the app or to contact them by phone or text. The other reason I gave only two stars is this: There is no way for me to write my schedule on the app. The only way I can do that is to sit down at a computer and use the HS website. Being a manager sometimes I do not have the time to sit at a computer down to write my schedule. How great would it be if I didn’t have to be tethered to a desktop or have to lug my laptop around with me? It’d be awesome! I could do a little bit here, a little there. This would free me up to be able to do the schedule anywhere since I always have my phone.

This app would have so much more potential if it wouldn’t need an update literally every week just to be functional. Crashes very often and signs me out randomly. Servers are always slow retrieving data. The availability option for work is VERY buggy even after all of the updates. It adds in random days of availability I have not selected after I submit the form. Not worth the 3 dollars I payed for it.

app is prone to constant crashes, refuses to save login info - occasionally keeps my username, but only occasionally. every crash, logged out. every notification, logged out. it doesn’t matter how recently i was on the app. If i checked my schedule and 25 minutes later i got a notification it was modified, i’d be logged out without ever completely closing the app.

The iPad version of this app is indeed much more powerful than its iPhone counterpart, but still has a long ways to go if one is considering a tablet as a total computer replacement. There is no solution for creating/copying/posting schedules, and using the HS schedule via browser on the iPad is frustrating to say the least. What we need is a pro-level app for tablet users, or a specific manager app that offers these tools. Some minor UI adjustments would be welcome as well, making better use of the screen real estate offered on the iPad. Amendment: Why did the most recent update take away the timeline roster report that was unique to the iPad experience? This was so intuitive and helpful and really set the iPad experience apart from the website and/or the iPhone app. Another update: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner: it doesn’t seem the iPad app supports split screen on the iPad. MAJOR BUMMER HERE.

Access to the dashboard stopped working about three months ago. The app will timeout after a while if you try to access it. A calendar for management to log important events for the restaurant would be extremely useful. It makes no sense that I have to scroll through every day of the month to try and find a note about an upcoming event when a calendar showing the events would solve the problem.

I’ve always loved using HS, but I’m guessing the most recent update took away the feature to be able to see crew hours for the week under the roster tab. We previously used it to see who was getting close to overtime, and it isn’t displayed anymore as of recently.

Every time I’m in a new area traveling I know it’s just going to freak out every time so I try to wait to open the app when I’m hooked up to my usual towers or WiFi. Just to set this straight, something has to piss me off REALLY bad in order for me to review anything. First off, the app can’t remember my login info. Even after clicking the check button for it to remember my login info. Second, this app doesn’t have an “easy to understand” layout, especially when having to accept new terms and conditions. There is just so much that the developers could easily change to make this app easy, after all, it’s for work, right? I don’t feel like the app I’m REQUIRED to use by my employer, needs to be so difficult. All I need is to check my schedule, and they’ve really made it difficult to do that with this app.

The newest update changed the entire format of the schedule. Rather than being a compact schedule it’s blown up and hard to read. It also requires me to login every single time I open the app. Sometimes it makes me re-login while I’m on my schedule because it says the login expired.

Data doesn’t seem to reside in your phone. The program want’s me to register n put a user name and password although I am the sole user of this phone. I needed a program that launched solely in my phone and that my data doesn’t go to the cloud. DON’T BUY if you care for your personal data.

My company recently switched to a more "organized" scheduling system. So, I said oh how convenient, an app! Paid $3 logged in one time, it updated and I forgot my password and the option to send reset password link does not work. So I am unable to check my schedule and I'm out $3. Thanks for nothing.

I hate the mobile and desktop updates where you no longer are able to “view entire schedule” on a one-page grid. I have been using hotschedules since 2015 and this update happened some time within the last year. Not practical for the user to click into each shift to see who is working on each shift instead of overseeing the week on one grid. Need to allow the option to see entire schedule again without clicking into 14 separate shifts to see a 7-day schedule.

As a user why can i not login to see my schedule? Oh, right, because hotschedules did yet ANOTHER nonsense update, and without downloading the update you cant login. What is so critically important that this app has to be updated twice a month or more? It’s like mission impossible, only “your schedule, if you choose to accept it, is...(every normal day)... this schedule will self destruct in 10 days (when we update the app for no apparent reason) ...” What could possibly be so critically important and secure about my stupid work schedule that it needs to update so often???? Thus losing my login data each time, thus making me download a new version (needing wifi) and requiring me re-verify my identity and password each time I use it? It’s annoying. Despite the constant token and password word issues with every update, only half the reason why I gave two stars, I really like this app. It makes it super easy to leave notes for my fellow managers, to send messages to my employees via the app or to contact them by phone or text. The other reason I gave only two stars is this: There is no way for me to write my schedule on the app. The only way I can do that is to sit down at a computer and use the HS website. Being a manager sometimes I do not have the time to sit at a computer down to write my schedule. How great would it be if I didn’t have to be tethered to a desktop or have to lug my laptop around with me? It’d be awesome! I could do a little bit here, a little there. This would free me up to be able to do the schedule anywhere since I always have my phone.

it’s so confusing to put in a new availability: what happened to lunch/dinner shifts? Now I have to include time specific on-times? What if I can work lunch starting after 11:00a, and dinner by needing to be on by 5:00p? How do I input that? 11-5 as my availability? no, because now I’m only being scheduled between those hours and not getting approved to pickup shifts outside of that time frame. Go back to how it used to be, I never knew anyone complaining about your app or system. And its horrible trying to request time off, the old version was so much simpler and so much easier to look at. Now you can’t edit individual days with in your request, you either have to delete the WHOLE request and pray that it gets approved again, or pray that someone will release a shift on the day you can work again. It’s so restrictive and complicated. When it comes to work schedules, we want simple and flexible. What are you guys doing with hotschedules?! If this wasn’t a necessary app for my job, I would delete this new-version revamped atrocity of a system. and that makes me bummed because I was practically your biggest fan back in the day, with the green color scheme. :/

Easy to use app, makes life so much easier to have your schedule and manipulate it easily. Three suggestions (requests to the developers actually): 1) allow people to create an auto pick-up from the "my schedule" page. It would be a LOT easier to create these when you can see the holes in your schedule (maybe even on the schedule page put "auto pick up set" for the shifts you're hoping to get?) 2) allow notifications for when a shift gets released that you're not already scheduled for. 3) when you're on the "my schedule" page and click on a specific shift, it shows you who is working that shift and who isn't (brilliant) BUT, from there, allow the option to send a message to ONLY the people working that shift (like - hey anyone want tonight off?) AND be able to send a message to ONLY the people not working that shift (ie. hey can someone work for me tonight) instead of having to go to the messages center, select individual people or blast everyone on the whole team. Thank you!

I absolutely hate this app. Unfortunately I have to use it because my job requires me to. But it ALWAYS logs me out, it crashes every time I’m using it, takes forever to load. Honestly if there was an option to opt out of using this horrible thing I would. Developers really need to step it up. I never write reviews but this app drove me to do it, and I’ve been using this so called app for 5 years already, and it has gotten worse with every update they put out. Why does it have to log me out EVERY SINGLE TIME I leave the app? I really wish my job would switch to something different. I’m sorry for the new users that have to download this for work, just be prepared to live with unnecessary aggravations HotSchedules will give you. It’s not even worth the price, this is really disappointing and it’s just horrible.

The reviewers who cavil about minutiae are probably unrealistic; what do you expect for $3? It’s a brilliant app, and well worth its price. I can see who isn’t working (to swap shifts), negotiate all sorts of deals, message w/o having a phone number, and managers can approve shifts IMMEDIATELY. I used to manage schedules new-old school with Excel. While HS’s features are still clunky, they’re an improvement in design and speed. I would hope at some point that HS would work in an algorithm to automate staff shift rotations, but with all these features, and for its current price, this app is well worth its value.

Great app, extremely simple set up that is easy to navigate to whatever I’m looking for. Also my favorite part is the updates. Whomever does the thought of the weeks deserves a raise. And a promotion. Heck just give me an update every week so I can see those! Updated comment: I wrote this review almost a year ago, and guys they still do the thought of the week. Did that guy get his raise? Seriously send him my way if you don’t just so I can pay him to make one does me every day. Great app. Easy to use. And updates are still perfect!!!!

I’ve been using this app for probably 4 years now for work... and It’s always been awesome until the latest update. Everything was so simple and easy to look at. Now, making your availability makes absolutely no sense. For some reason it says you can create different weekly availabilities for each day, and figuring out how to get my shifts I want has felt near impossible. This update has caused so many problems for me and my managers. I was scheduled outside of my availability last week and had to miss my night class to come into work. Why did the availability section have to change? I don’t understand. Why mess with a good thing. Please, for the sake of me and so many others change it back to the way it used to be. I’d be happy to leave an awesome review if you did lol.

I wasn’t going to buy this app because the website is actually quite good. Colleagues of mine said they loved it so I paid the $3. Once I logged in I first thought the app had redirected me to Safari and to the desktop version of the program, but quickly realized thats essentially what the app was... a link. I could very easily just make a shortcut for the website into an app for my iPhone for free. Seems amazing that there are still apps like this that haven’t been updated to be more user friendly for tablets and phones. I’ll probably still use the app because it’s a link to my schedule but I’m not happy about it. I’d give the program itself 5* but the app 1* so people can read what they’re actually getting for their money.

So my work uses hot schedules and it is one of the easiest apps to use. My managers recommended that I purchase the app and I recommend the same to all new hires. My reasoning for writing this review is to suggest that you show the scheduled hours for the work week for the employee, because I know for the manager side it does show that. My work wants us to be conscious of our own overtime and sometimes it hard to see if I’ll hit it if I pick up a released shift. It would be great if you guys added this to the next update 🙏🏻

I have been using this app a little over a year and I love it but this new update is very confusing. It won’t say the end times for my shifts so I never know if I work 6 hours 8 hours etc and I like being able to know how many hours I’m working that day. The only way I can check for the end times for my shift is if I go online not through the app which is a bit annoying since I did pay for the app for the convenience of not having to go through all that logging in. Other than that great app, just a small issue of the times it shows.

Here’s what would be stellar, if you could merge multiple jobs and locations onto 1 account. In college I had 3 different jobs, and had to have 3 separate HS accounts to view the schedules. Why can’t I put them all into the same account and then have a drop down menu where I can decide which schedule to view? Instead I’m forced to have 1 open in the app, and then log into my interest browser to view the other 2. Very inconvenient. Also, every update causes password and log in issues. Not exactly what you want to have when something is involving your work schedule.......

It would be amazing if there were any option to see which employees are off for the whole day and not just AM or PM shifts. Everytime I need to check to see who's off, I have to keep switching back and for between shifts for that day just to see who's available to work. If we were to ever get an option like that, it would also be nice if there were any option to "message all who are available for shifts today". It would make functionality much easier! Other than that, no complaints 👏🏻
Mail feature needs work

Seems like I never get notifications from the app itself. When my employer emails me, I get a notification from Gmail but not one from the HotSchedules app. I’ve gone into the settings for HotSchedules just to realize that every thing is activated to notify me, yet still it is not doing that. The little red bubble you see on most apps, that tells you how many emails you have waiting for before you even open up the app, doesn’t seem to exist on this app. It would be nice if they can make it have the same standard set of features that most other email applications out there have. Lastly, even after the app is open, the little envelope icon doesn’t indicate any difference at all. So an email could be waiting for you and you would never notice it. That icon should also have a number next to it letting you know how many new emails you have. Hope The team at HotSchedules finds this feedback useful, Cheers

I like this app, it makes it easy to know when I work and where I'm scheduled to work. My only complaint is that when I go to view someone else's shift (to either swap or pick it up), it says what time their shift starts, but it doesn't say what time it ends! If I want to know a person's full shift time I have to go to the website, and that kind of ruins the point of having the app--I got it so I wouldn't have to go onto my laptop all the time. The app was supposed to make it easier and more convenient for me!!

Hey! I would love if there was a way to schedule recurring availability complications, such as not being able to work until after 5 a few days of the week. Right now I can only make schedule adjustments for 4 different weeks, which is frustrating when I know I'm going to have the same days off x numbers of weeks in advance. Also, being able to edit the availability rather than having to delete it and redo it entirely anytime something comes up would be helpful.

It’s ridiculous how much HotSchedules doesn’t care about the functionality. They gave it yet another facelift instead of actually addressing the multitude of problems, such as pages not loading or taking 5 minutes to load, logging me out EVERY TIME I close and reopen the app, not to mention all of the times it’s deleted my schedule that I had posted for my employees. Please, do not be fooled by them. If I had a choice, I would NEVER use HotSchedules ever again after dealing with the same nonsense for over 3 years. If you are a business owner, do not, I repeat, DO NOT choose this as your scheduling platform. You are better suited using good old fashioned pen and paper. FIX YOUR ISSUES NOW!

The iPad version of this app is indeed much more powerful than its iPhone counterpart, but still has a long ways to go if one is considering a tablet as a total computer replacement. There is no solution for creating/copying/posting schedules, and using the HS schedule via browser on the iPad is frustrating to say the least. What we need is a pro-level app for tablet users, or a specific manager app that offers these tools. Some minor UI adjustments would be welcome as well, making better use of the screen real estate offered on the iPad. Amendment: Why did the most recent update take away the timeline roster report that was unique to the iPad experience? This was so intuitive and helpful and really set the iPad experience apart from the website and/or the iPhone app. Another update: I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner: it doesn’t seem the iPad app supports split screen on the iPad. MAJOR BUMMER HERE.

The app serves its purpose quiet well but the reason it has earned such a review is the lack of management nearly every week for as long as I can remember there has been at least one update of this app which requires you to re log in which in all honestly may be a small hiccup maybe 1 minute of time but it does get quiet tiring as time goes on I’ve used this app where I worked for four and a half years now and it gets the job done but it’s the only app on my home screen that requires so much routine maintenance which is especially confusing since the only real major change that’s happened in the time I’ve used it was a primary color change from green to blue So let your product work and instead of doing a million small updates how about you compile the bug fix’s and role um out all in one update at the start or end of every month KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK YALL!!!

I’ve used hot schedules with my company for the last 4 years. The first few years were great. No issues and no confusion. The last several updates have created so many issues. More often than not, dropped shifts don’t show, auto pickup/drop doesn’t work and the way you now have to input your availability is just silly. Please fix the kinks. If the released shifts could always show up and never disappear (unless pickup and approves) it would definitely go up in stars and I’d have more faith. There have also been times where my schedule was completely different than what was in my manager’s hot schedule.

Overall a great app but there was a recent update that won’t allow you to see released shifts on shifts that I have requested off. Just because I request off, doesn’t mean I may not change my mind and want to pick up a shift. I also wish there was full capability with the auto pickup feature. The desktop version allows you to customize which shifts, sections, and people you want to pick up from, but the app won’t let you!

I love this app! It’s easy to use and convenient. BUT to make it better, you should be able to combine schedules from different jobs. Or see both. I work for 2 companies that use this and it is so time consuming and annoying to have one schedule only on my browser, and one schedule in the app! I greatly miss being able to see what order you are for request offs for a specific date and the number of requests for that date as well. It used to say you are 2 of 10 or 3 of 5, etc. It was extremely helpful to plan for specific days to request time off instead of constantly bugging my managers to tell me how many requests there are to plan for vacations, etc.

I love the app. The only thing I wish for, is to be able to have two different jobs logged in and to be able to switch back and forth between the two jobs without having to log out of one job and back in to the other to see one or the other schedules. This app is great very easy to use if just checking schedules or looking up employees phone numbers. What would earn this app five stars would be the ability to make schedule changes as well as a better over look of the posted schedule of all employees for a specific day. All in all it was money well spent makes it much easier then trying to use the webpage!

The app says that it is not longer supported by the device but I am unable to download the new version from my App Store. The browser version isn’t working either and I’m stuck with having to harass my managers for scheduling conflict when things shouldn’t be as complicated. HotSchedules you’re failing on your mission! I usually don’t post negative reviews but I keep encountering technical issues with the app AND website and I came to a point of ultimate frustration. Don’t waste your time and money on HS.

Love this app but why oh why does my schedule all the sudden show up on both the calendars I use (including the Apple calendar) like 25 times? I'm saying my 2pm-12am schedule shows up 25+ times. I'm sure it's user error but I get 25 reminders every day for the 25 entries to my calendar.. and it's only my schedule doing this not other entries (which are lost in a see of schedules). It didn't do that before so I'm wondering if it's a bug?

My job just switched apps and so I’m coming from another scheduling app and I don’t like how all the open shifts and your schedule are mixed together. I wish there was a tab where you could see just the open shifts and another where you can see a brief summary of what days you work. Also an email when someone puts up their shift so we can be notified ASAP if we chose to. I do like how you can see the staff and who is not working that day.

I have had hot schedules for three different jobs and it really depends on what version your company has. It would also be nice to be able to switch accounts without logging in and logging out so like Twitter or Instagram you can switch to your other account quickly and easily hot schedule does not allow that. When you read the updates, they have a thought of the week, and it feels like someone was really high when they write them. It’s probably the only I really enjoy using the app. Along with seeing shifts and work stuff it’s pretty useful. The thought of the week really trips me out sometimes.

This app is the least user friendly app I’ve ever seen. Firstly, if you work for more than one place, you can’t keep all your schedules within the same account. You literally have to have a separate account for each job. Secondly, it crashes constantly. Third, there is no way to change your personal info within the app. Lastly, if you have performance issues, the support will send you back one email that has nothing to do with your issues, and offers no help at all. This app is really terrible. All thumbs down.

I never write reviews, but after trying to log into my app for the seventh time after time is me out and says “I took to long and “I’m really frustrated and don’t know what to do. My work has called and complained and got no response back from the developer. So I’m hoping to take to the reviews to shed some light. I can’t login under general login, I can only logged under my pass. And my past won’t let me login. If I could refund this purchase I would. Never used to be like this, I don’t know what happened or what they were thinking

The new versions of the app logs me out every single day. It's very inconvenient especially because everyday it asks me to log in, change my password, and then log in again. Multiple log ins are absolutely unnecessary, I'm just trying to see what time I have to go into work. Please fix this. I shouldn't need three pages of log ins just to get into my account. I'm convinced that Trump's twitter account has less security than my hot schedules app.

I think this app is great, it’s always been my favorite. Every time I have a job that uses hot schedules it makes my life so much easier, but I have two jobs that’s use hot schedules and it’s really irritating not being able to merge them. I don’t want to have a completely new user and password and log in and out every day. Get it together hot schedules.

I think the app works great the way it is, but my only suggestion for auto pick up is instead of having to go to the menu then selecting pickup/release and selecting a date, on the main screen (your schedule) click the day and shift you want to pick up/release

It’s not enough that you have to pay $2.99 for this app after my boss already paid for it but the app DOES NOT WORK. You can’t see when your shift ends and you can’t see your coworkers schedules so trading shifts or trying to get a shift covered is a nightmare. AND you can’t request a day off if it’s more than 4 weeks away. Why wouldn’t you and your scheduler want to be on the same page in terms of vacation days. This app isn’t user friendly and I can’t imagine it making sense for any business model. Try again.

Access to the dashboard stopped working about three months ago. The app will timeout after a while if you try to access it. A calendar for management to log important events for the restaurant would be extremely useful. It makes no sense that I have to scroll through every day of the month to try and find a note about an upcoming event when a calendar showing the events would solve the problem.

I’ve had multiple jobs– which means I’ve had the opportunity to try other apps to figure out my schedule. I had to PAY for this one and it’s by far the WORST one. Homebase is FREE and way more efficient. This app always logs me out, the entire layout just looks half-assed, and as of right now it’s not even letting me log into my account. If you are an employer considering on using this for your employees, forget about it. Homebase is so much better and on top of that it’ll save the times you clock in & clock out at work too! You could also message your coworkers through the app in a normal fashion, not like some kind of announcement board. Homebase even shows you the amount of hours in total hours you’ve worked, which day you started, etc. I’d stop using this app if I could but I have to because of my job.

I don’t have as many problems with this app as other people, it works just fine for me but the new update has taken away the feature that tells us how long our shift is? For example, it would say 1:00-9:00 but now it just says 1:00 and doesn’t show me the ending time at all, like what? Who thought that was a good idea? It shows up on the website but not the app so basically I paid $2.99 for absolutely nothing.

I wish this app worked well for us. I also wish I hadn’t paid 2.99 for it. I have always used When I Work as my scheduling app before this transition. This app fails in so many ways. Not only has it limited my interaction with my managers but it has made it completely impossible to make the required switches and drops. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. My large workplace/coworkers are in the process of paying out of pocket to have When I work because hot schedules doesn’t work for the restaurant industry

I like hot schedules for the most part. I just wish there was more manager functions we can do on our phone, mobile app or iPad rather than having to be right at a computer. I can’t make any schedule changes from these other devices. Otherwise, I probably would give it a 5 if it did those things.
Available To Pick Up Shift

It would be awesome to have a feature that once schedules are posted it allows us to notify other coworkers that you’re available to pick up a shift either AM or PM or both. That way when someone releases a shift the app can tell the person who has the feeler out so they can snag it. All around nice app to have for work.

The whole idea behind hotschedules is supposed to be conveniency but this app is anything but that. What's the point of having a "remember me" option if it's still going to make me log back in EVERY SINGLE TIME the app gets minimized for 2 seconds or god forbid my phone screen goes to sleep. That's if the app even lets you login in the first place, lately almost every time I try I get an error message saying that I took too long to login; apparently the 20 seconds it takes to retype my information isn't fast enough.
