It’s all about the money
by Chief Colorado on 2019/09/15 10:58
I really thought I’d struck gold when i-heart radio was commercial free without a fee. Then it happened, they now charge for commercial free and the free station is littered with commercials that are louder and obnoxious in between the music I love to listen to each day. It’s sad it’s about the money and nothing is sacred anymore without a profit motive. The commercials can’t be manually jumped over and they are louder than the volume of the music. They interfere with atmosphere of the songs being played. I manually reduced the volume so I don’t have to listen to the drivel of each commercial played. Then they put you through a torturous video commercial at startup before you get to listen to your favorite music. Honestly, I can’t even remember one of their commercial sponsors except for the monotone , “Cars for kids “ that I muted until it goes over. We are so mercifully pelted with commercials these days that I don’t honestly remember any commercial I hear. If I’m going to by something, I use a search engine to find what I’m in need of and not brainwashed into buying something from an obnoxious repetitive commercial. If anything, I’m repelled by the commercials and boycott their products. Thank you for the opportunity to vent my displeasure with today’s technology held hostage by advertising ad-nauseum. Yuck!
Ads ads ads ads ads ads.... ads ads ads
by BongoFett on 2019/09/14 15:42
I listen to a local talk radio, the radio uses a lot of ads but I heart radio squeezes more in. People wonder why radio is dyeing. In an hour of radio time, there’s 30 minutes of talk and sometimes more that 30 minutes of ads. Weird math but when you open app, you have to listen to more commercials and delay the broadcast. So if you only have an hour of listening, you won’t catch up on the broadcast. It is what it is but over the years, I heart radio has only increased the ads, the same stupid annoying ads every single break. They even call themselves out in the ads.
I heart this
by Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmi on 2019/09/14 14:31
This app is very easy to use even through the adds. I get to listen to all the genres I love, and I get to like the songs I like. It’s a great app, even without the premium membership.
Ads
by Trey Eu on 2019/09/14 02:23
My favorite radio station plays ads almost 50% of the time. To make it worse, every time my favorite DJ comes on that radio station, his mixes are cut short by long as times from iHeart. I tried the premium version of the app and it was the same result. Also, they took my favorite program, Car Talk, off of here. Once again, I couldn’t get the program with premium. Very disappointed to say the least
Fraud
by Hobartd on 2019/09/13 23:53
I never agreed to automatic renewals, yet was just charged $5.99 automatically. Very dishonest. Not surprisingly, I cancelled. Would love my money back.
Thought it was great until...
by iSnowdogGirl on 2019/09/13 23:20
I started the 30 day trial. Seemed like they said I could save songs, listen to live radio, listen to what I wanted. I tried to delete 2 old playlists-no you have to upgrade to $13/mo to manage playlists, can’t delete playlist content-you have to upgrade. In fact everything (simple tasks) I tried required an upgrade. I started the trial offer less than 20 minutes ago and I can’t do anything I couldn’t do on the free version. Getting fed up with companies making worthless offers assuming everyone is gullible and can be suckered into exorbitant subscription plans. Can you say “gouging”?
Service for some stations are just commercials
by 22?54! on 2019/09/13 19:23
The service seems to be more about playing the same stupid commercials over and over again. So bad that I have resolved to never buy any of these products and services. Going back to just listening to my own music. If I could give it no stars I would.
If your going to play adds do a better job of it
by Dodgetrainhorn on 2019/09/13 15:11
I have been listening for 15 minutes and have heard the same ad 7 times so far and am currently listening to it for the 4TH TIME IN A ROW. This happens all the time
American Girl Commercial

Please stop playing the American Girl commercial/ad back to back!!
Recent update has ruined app
by ChopperDave11115 on 2019/09/12 15:22
It looks like the app now HAS to be open to play audio - which makes it absolute garbage On top of that, it’s only playing ads on a loop

7-Eleven commercials have been playing for the past 5 minutes
by Kingbobo24 on 2019/09/11 22:54
I’ve been trying to listen to KFI AM 640 and 7-Eleven and party city commercials have been playing for the past 5 minutes and keeps repeating the same commercials... I can’t even listen to the station. I can only listen to the commercials...I’ve reinstalled the app and same issues. Can only listen now in my car...
Broken by ads
by MikeMikeMikessss on 2019/09/11 21:36
This latest update seems to attempt to run ads before playing live radio, but fails to play most (99%) of the time. Prerecorded stuff plays.
Elvis Duran show broken
by Dhdjndinrnr on 2019/09/11 21:07
When I go to replay today’s Elvis Duran on demand show, the app will cycle through old shows and play one of those. Super annoying!
App fails or no sound at all
by rellime on 2019/09/11 17:25
I use the app on my IPhone at work and streaming online at home and both have this same issue. For the past few months the connection has been horrible! This app fails to connect or has no sound at all. It goes out every few minutes making it hard to listen to. I don’t know what’s going on but you would think since IHeart is a major company, they could afford to fix these issues. Guess I’ll stick to Pandora 😞
So many options
by nastynate718 on 2019/09/11 17:00
So many choices old to the new that’s what you’ll do keep doing what makes me tell so many others about iHeartRadio have gotten so many to download the app they love slow jams like me nathaniel boomer
Tricks you into Premium Plan
by STFL69 on 2019/09/11 13:28
Cleverly tricks users to upgrade to plus subscription when opening app. Since you have to use thumbprint to open on iPhone 7 and it quickly accepts purchase without confirmation. Have to call Apple since they have no customer service number or contact.
Doesn’t stay connected
by Irmis0980 on 2019/09/11 13:20
Out of all my music apps, this is the only one that will keep disconnecting and refreshing and it’s very annoying when I’m listening to a station and miss parts of the shows. It’s not my WiFi or cell either. None of my other apps that have live shows will do this.
Great app!
by Bcmstudent on 2019/09/11 03:37
I use this for all my podcast listening. It works great as long as you listen to the whole podcast without stopping. If you are halfway through a podcast and pause it, there is a high probability of it erasing your location and starting from the beginning. This is beyond frustrating if you didn’t see exactly where you left off. When this gets fixed I will update the review.
Too easy to accidentally buy subscription
by Jaguth on 2019/09/11 03:08
The UI will occasionally slide-up a button to purchase a subscription. I will try to cancel my accidental purchase.
Ripped off. NO STARS
by GiggleKatt on 2019/09/11 02:45
I took advantage of the free month and cancelled well in advance. I was charged anyway for the coming month and couldn’t find a way to contact ANYONE. I hope my cancellation is complete. I will not subscribe again nor pay again.
Unreliable
by Bigbuubba3333 on 2019/09/10 17:32
Both the app and online it is unreliable. Cuts out or freezes up.
Connection keep dropping
by Some1dude on 2019/09/10 15:12
Trying to listen to 106.1 in Dallas, connection keeps dropping. I tried with WiFi and without it and it still keeps dropping. From the looks of it seems the connection to the actual station to iheart radio is having problems. When using Spotify or iTunes Radio the music streams well still so I know it isn’t the internet connection on my side.

5 Stars
by Hxdnnd on 2019/09/09 20:27
I think it is worth 5 stars but the one thing I don’t like is how you can’t pick your own song you get random! It would be better if you got to pick but otherwise it is excellent
IHeartRadio
by dennyt26 on 2019/09/09 15:51
I downloaded what I thought was a free app only to start receiving a monthly charge. Including taxes it’s $6.41. I use this app so infrequently that I chose to cancel.
All access
by Btown blues on 2019/09/09 14:56
A lot of money for a subscription to not have complete access to all of my selections at all times.
Adds
by laxbro1210 on 2019/09/09 14:49
It may be a bug but when I go to listen to a station it only plays adds no matter how long you wait or if you restart the app
Can’t listen to the app when doing other things on phone
by Lizeth_67! on 2019/09/09 14:14
I love this app however today I opened it and I usually am able to listen to it while I’m on Facebook or instagram however today that wasn’t working for me maybe they changed the app and they no longer have that function but if so I’m switching because that’s how I used it most of the time.
Ashely needs to go!
by sar poooo on 2019/09/09 10:59
Bad call firing bob dumas and chris edge!!! If anyone on showgram should have been fired it should’ve been Ashely-wrong spelling, I know!
Fraudulent charge for subscription purchase and renewal.
by RWarby on 2019/09/08 17:13
Did not care for subscription.
Was great, pushing subscriptions too hard
by RTalons on 2019/09/08 15:24
Was a great free music app, with artist stations that would randomly mix in similar music. Discovered some good artists that way! I travel a lot, so helped having music I could stream wherever. Recent updates seem to have eliminated that option if you’re not a paid subscriber... I was fine listening to the occasional add, but now all I can do with the app for free is listen to the radio... thanks for ruining a great app, deleted.
Good for live radio, terrible for podcasts
by Sam A. Spence on 2019/09/08 08:05
I love this app if I’m listening to something live. But if you want to listen to podcasts or archived shows then be ready to be frustrated with how slow they buffer. Not to mention they randomly skip forward and back. Very annoying
UK Fan
by Trl5961 on 2019/09/08 03:59
Best go to when on the road and trying to find KSR or broadcasts... sometimes you’re in areas where you can’t pick up a radio signal. This is the signal that always works.
WHO
by DGA Driver on 2019/09/07 19:33
The problem is what is advertised vs. what is delivered. Your ads imply that I can receive live radio on my phone or computer. That’s not what you deliver. Wanted to listen to the broadcast of the Iowa - Rutgers football game. Got an interview show and local news and weather. Very frustrating! iHeart Radio has two choices. Deliver what you promise in the ads. Or, advertise what you actually deliver. Failure to adopt either choice will bring a formal complaint to FCC.
Commercials
by Shawn Hennessy on 2019/09/07 15:36
There are so many commercials that sometimes the whole time I’m in my car it’s all I hear. I even upgraded to a paid subscription and it didn’t change.
Commercials
by gnizoons on 2019/09/07 15:33
All too often, commercials seem to get stuck in the loop and repeat themselves for several minutes. Very aggravating.
Unauthorized Subscription
by Gunn Lartey on 2019/09/07 15:17
I've been enjoying Pandora through the app. I've not subscribed and still listen with commercials. Yet I'm being charged the subscription fee. If this is a bug please fix.
i❤️ Radio
by Robbie Stanton on 2019/09/07 14:55
Great app for streaming music and radio stations from each genre. You can also listen to podcasts. Hopefully there will be a lot more stations on iHeart in the future.
Cuts off
by john46214 on 2019/09/06 17:39
Seems to cut off way to often and then starts up with a new ad.
Not very useful when signal is weak
by AP75000 on 2019/09/06 16:10
The app restarts with commercials after every “disconnect “ - which occurs frequently in poor cell signal areas: so I have to endure a barrage of ads each time the signal becomes strong enough. Also a bug where some elevator music start playing upon connecting occasionally.
Too many commercials
by fxysnik on 2019/09/06 14:29
Every single time I bring up the app to hear the live radio, there is over 10 minutes of nothing but commercials- terrible app—
Great app but...
by Type R505 Kia on 2019/09/06 13:28
I really enjoy the app I listen to podcasts on it from time to time. The issue is if you pause the video it kicks you out and you have to reopen the app. Once you reopen the app sometimes it will resume the podcast from where it was playing and other times it completely losses your podcast you which podcast you were listening to as well as your place in the podcast. It can be inconvenient to pause it for ten seconds to a minute and have to spend all the time pulling it back up and trying to find it again.
Amazingly few live radio stations
by barista brian on 2019/09/06 06:43
I’m a Wisconsin expatriate. Sad how few local radio stations iHeart Radio features. radio.net has stations iHeart Radio doesn’t. Just saying.
iHeartRadio # 1
by (•.-) on 2019/09/06 04:07
iHeartRadio makes my life easier and more enjoyable. You bring the important news of the world to my ears in a way that I can understand and I can relate to. And, when it comes to music iHeartRadio has a huge selection that allows me to create and customize my listening. A personal music listening experience like this helps heal and enrich my life! Wherever I may go, I always take iHeartRadio with me. I can always count on you to keep me “grounded” and at “home”. “iHeartRadio go bragh!!” :)

Look elsewhere for live radio app. Radio shows edited down to add commercials. Way more commercials then you get listening on radio. Guess you have to pay up or go elsewhere
Cost and interuptions
by iksdjvan on 2019/09/05 16:23
Constant interruptions to station broadcasts with commercials that are obviously not local and direct from i heart radio. I pay for COMMERCIAL FREE RADIO. That means stop putting your adds in acting like they are local adds! They also cut into local severe weather alerts with their adds which in my opinion should be illegal if its not already. Also its gotten way too expensive. It used to be $9.99 a year ago and its jumped $3 a month. Im considering other options.
Great, when it doesn’t cut out
by Steve@WI on 2019/09/05 16:08

Another Customer Tricked w/ SNEAKY monthly Subscription
by Tell It Straight! on 2019/09/05 14:53
Good luck getting a refund after being tricked w/ pop up adds for a subscription. So, I proceeded to remove my credit card info i had on file/Apple ID and iHeart still charged me as an automatic monthly charge of 5.99, this is the 2nd month! When I reported it and asked for a refund, I was told my request did not meet the criteria, what? I had to finally get on and cancel the subscription I don’t even use. Hmmmmm, I wonder how many people they scam on this and how much $’s they take from their customers on a monthly basis? They got me for almost $12.00, lets see if they stopped the subscription moving forward as i requested.

by giraffelandowner2 on 2019/09/05 05:29
The latest update was a real stinker. I only use this app to listen to an exclusive podcast, and now it doesn't save where I left off. I have to take a screenshot and manually choose the point where I stopped listening. I wonder why this feature was removed. Now they added popup notifications for programs I am not subscribed to. Thanks for making navigation more difficult. Update: They still haven't fixed resuming where I left off and the annoying popup advertisements.

Unauthorized charges
by Px374692 on 2019/09/04 23:52
Automatically signs you up and charges you based on an accidental touch. Worst app ever!!’ My goodness! It did it a second time. I was trying to navigate to a local station that is on the few version of iHeartRadio, had the sun trying to get in my eyes, and iTunes made it much too easy to purchase an unwanted subscription. I hate the thieves that are called Apple!
Near Perfect
by E-Rock2010 on 2019/09/04 23:23

Dear KBPI, When I streaming KBPI on the net (iHeart) back in 2012, there were no commercials. Today, KBPI is full of the them. It is extremely distracting. What happened? Did the FCC come at you? Is it a possible reason KBPI 106.7 became 107.9? I am very unhappy having commercials when I am paying for the internet service. I would really like to know. Please Reply, John Alan Reedy SR Newport Beach CA

This app is very good. I listen to the iHeart 90s radio station all the time. However, there is one problem for voiceover users. I am a visually impaired man and I use voiceover. Voiceover will not read the stations on the screen in this newest update. It would be nice to have that bug fixed. Other than that one thing, it is a wonderful app

No longer enjoyable
by Steeltag on 2019/09/02 17:23
I used to really like this app, now, after they’ve made ‘updates’ , it’s much worse . It takes longer to load ( using my iPhone ), takes up to 1 minute to even start playing the radio/talk show....because there are now mandatory ads playing ....every...time you turn it off, stop the app temporarily, or ‘change stations’ and then come back . If you listen to the radio via this app...it’s very annoying and I miss parts of th talk show because of the ads
Some Problem(crashes)
by Doubollo4 on 2019/09/02 16:27
Holy crap lol. Idk if there’s too few subscribers but this is doing to much. You gotta upgrade to ‘skip’ a song now. Fricking ‘Skip’. “I hate radio” is the app version of China.

Buffering must be corrected to get 5 stars
by FHornRon on 2019/09/02 04:38
KFIAM640 and TalkRadio98.3 have really bad buffering, yesterday I listened to the same commercial 5 times! Portions of programs get dropped and other portions repeat. KUSC, BACH, Classical Sleep, Frédéric Chopin - no buffering. Correct the buffering and I’ll change my rating to 5 stars.
Subscription Scam

I have been using iHeart on occasion. Then one day I got an email that I was subscribed for $5.99 per month. I didn’t sign up. What a scam.

Subscription is too expensive
by StotkaGirls on 2018/10/06 03:55
Almost but not quite 5🌟, would have kept my monthly subscription but it’s way too costly. For just radio I thought, but considering it’s only $15 or so it’s not that bad. It would be great for a disc jockey (DJ) or a wedding event you can actually set up your own play lists so it can just continue playing continuously. Unless you feel the need to have the DJ interact with you like your in a pub or event to interact with the crowd. I’m sure that if you had issues to where you didn’t have a DJ show up for work then this would work for most small town or small scale clubs that’s holding only 50/75 people or so. I will say that most of the time I am able to find just about anything I want to listen when I had the subscription. And I didn’t have to listen to commercials. It’s really nice cause if you are a big music fan who buys a lot of tracks per month then I would just personally purchase a subscription to the iHeartRadio app. It’s just that cool. But being that I don’t buy that much music and I just couldn’t see spending that kind of money per month.
Was great on Windows Phone, new web app version six
by Nominally Normal on 2017/12/10 18:10
Loved this app on my Windows Phone, installed it when I was forced to switch to iPhone (which has been an inferior user experience in almost every way - it can’t even do autocorrect as well as the WP, but I digress), and it was pretty similar throughout the fall of 2017... logged in today, December, to find everything changed. I can’t figure out how to get to my favorite artist-based station (can find artist in search, but there doesn’t seem to be a station option anymore?) can’t find the Recently Played Songs list once I’m playing a station. It’s fine to change things, but not in such an extreme way that it appears so nonsensical to even fairly on-top-of-things users that they can’t easily find the features that are important to them. I don’t know if it was a web app before, but it must be because I don’t recall downloading an update and everything is just a little off, not polished and smooth like a native app would be. I expected that sort of thing on a minority platform like WP, but it’s really disappointing to have a worse experience on a brand new iPhone. Anyway, this app is in need of some major organizing/UI changes before it can match the user experience of previous versions. If I have to put in hours curating my stations (which looks like the direction this is going), as opposed to having a variety of stations that are good, just need minor tweaks to be great, I’d might as well use Pandora!
iHeartRadio
by toddster70 on 2018/02/04 11:50
I would have given it a five star BC I simply love being too listen to my home rock station when I'm working BC I work out of town most of time. But for some crazy reason lately it has started at 100% volume, even just now I got a head start on it and began working it down to about 60 % for it just to jump right back full blast even though I was holding down on volume button. Now I really can't explain how out why it would be turning down and almost to the half mark just for it to jump to the full volume while I'm still holding on the volume but this is not some thing that I can take or tolerate at 615 am nor will my boss's or work mates at this time in the morning and hell it could give some one a heart attack when u go from nor hearing a thing where a needle could be able to be heard hitting the floor. But you could say every one is awake today after this Bluetooth box going off. Please let me know what could and out can be done and if it's anything to do on my part in really sorry for not given the extra star but I had the volume working down for it to start over. Thanks and please have this fixed or fixed for me. Have no complaints about anything else so everyone download this app and listen to your favorite tubes so day and all the time for free.
Good App for streaming
by JLChaney's iPhone on 2019/06/05 16:46
It really is a good app. On the plus side, it is efficient with band usage if you have a limited internet plan. It is stable, with good buffering (I have lousy internet in my area so this is vital to me). It has a lot of content, including podcasts galore that can be downloaded. The minus, for which I deduct the stars has been to do with the ads. (I know, I could subscribe, but the monthly is too high for what I am listening too. Maybe some day someone can develop some sort of tiered subscriptions for those of us who just listen to limited content). I listen to a 24 hr news show with commentary. I grew up listening to KFI640 Los Angeles every morning. I don’t begrudge iheart for slipping in a couple of ads here and there, but you step right over THE PROGRAM ITSELF! Your ads should step on top of their ads, not the program. I want the whole news, not just the commentary. That’s what I chose, and it infuriates me when you cut the program off for a crappy 7-11 add, for which I will NEVER set foot in as my blood pressure rises, every time I see the sign and am reminded it’s going to INTERRUPT the program I am listening to in the morning. Iheart could program the timing of their ads better than this.
Good App (Usually...)
by Rosemaryadventure23 on 2018/01/05 02:52
Edit: It seems like all of the other problems I list below are gone now, due to the fact that I can’t get the app to play ANY music now. None of my stations work, they all constantly have a loading symbol, and where the artist’s other songs/info are, it says, “Artist Profile is not available at this time”. The app is completely useless to me at this point because it doesn’t do anything, and this started today only a few hours ago. This can’t be a phone problem because I have the latest iOS on a brand new iPhone 8. I’m hoping this will be fixed soon. I've used this app for a few years, and I've discovered many new artists and songs through this app. However, I've been experiencing a few problems lately. My biggest problem is that sometimes the app will refresh in the middle of a song, and not just pause it, but get rid of the song completely. I'm not sure if I can fix this in my phone settings or if it's an app issue, but this has never happened before. Another issue is that some ads with sound play at the same time as a song, which is obviously annoying. Overall, it is a good app and does what it promises, but with a few bugs.
Radio is still king
by DisneyLouisiana on 2019/01/23 05:59
I love radio and I mean real radio. IHeartRadio definitely fills my plate with what I love. I traveled for work and found great stations and shows that I continue listening to. It’s great to tune into a station from home when I’m hundreds of miles away and listening to what’s going on in my local area. They also have great streaming stations and the “Mixtape” is awesome. I didn’t give it five stars because after years with stock radios my wife got me a JVC stereo for my truck which had this awesome iHeartRadio feature. After multiple tries of connecting I went to the iHeartRadio support and the feature is no longer supported by iHeartRadio. I know I can just listen to it through usb or Bluetooth but I was looking forward to this feature on my new radio. Now I noticed that they have IHeartRadio “Auto” app. So now I have to have two apps ?? I actually pay for this one and I’m thinking of stopping because it’s a little frustrating.
Yuck!
Super inconsistent
by DigitalDCH on 2019/07/07 11:27
I use this app because it gives me access to older podcasts than apple’s podcast app does, but this app is absolutely infuriating! Sometimes the controls will be available from the home screen or the control center, but not always. Sometimes the controls have play/pause, skip forward 30s and skip backward 15s, but sometimes it’s play/pause, skip forward 30s and 3 bars that allow you to skip to the next/last podcast and maybe remove it from your list of favorites (can’t remember the last feature). The fact that the app isn’t always recognized as playing means that I can’t use my headphone shortcuts to play/pause like I normally do, and have to go in to open the app if I want to pause, which is super inconvenient when someone comes in to talk to you but you’re listening to a podcast and have to dig around to finally make the app pause and by that point you’ve either missed an indeterminate amount of podcast or you’ve missed half of what the person was saying to you. Overall this seems like something that an app developer whose primary focus is audio should be really on top of, and it is pretty poor development not to have this figured out in my opinion.
Great but one issue...
by Reviewer errrrr on 2019/06/04 00:46
I am completely loving this app. Features that I love is that it plays in the background of any other app. This is the best especially when using Waze in the car. I can still get the verbal directions from waze and the volume of iHeartRadio goes lower but doesn’t shut off! Also, when I close the app mid podcast, the podcast restarts automatically upon returning to the app. This also continues playing when minimized and when the phone is locked. The only feature that I would love to see change is the order in which the podcasts play. Instead of going up the list, example #4 to #5, the podcasts will play going down the list from #5 to #4. This means that you have to physically go into the app and click on the next podcast on the list. This is something that I hate doing, particularly when driving as it’s dangerous! I would love for iHeartRadio to fix this issue so that I can play a podcast list, and let it run up the list without needing to reopen the app and physically tap the next on the list. Besides this issue, I love this app for podcasts!
WOW

I first got a iHeartRadio as a free app when I first got my mobile device. It was free it was fun and the music was good because I could listen to it anywhere. That was about three years ago, now so much of the free things have been replaced by paid services that if I want to change anything that I had set up three years ago I can’t do it unless I pay them their fees to change anything on my accounts. You really have to love progress. On top of that because my mobile device is constantly logged on it doesn’t recognize the passwords I set up before they changed their site so now when I go to login online to try and change things it doesn’t recognize me. It’s a blast trying to reset my passwords and prove I’m not a freaking robot, great job iHeartRadio. I think it’s pretty funny that I have to prove I’m not a robot to reset my password but they can send automated email responses to folks. I’ve had these kind of problems before and they’ll send a generated email that says hey look up these corresponding posts on the forums to see if they match your problems. It’s all fun and games until the autistic guy wants to talk to a person then everybody hides behind a computer screen, if you find this funny awesome, if you don’t, fix it. It’s just one guys opinion.
To download or Not to d/l ?
by cbry1188 on 2018/05/23 19:58
I was going to dl the iheartradio Free app & thought I would check out the reviews before doing so. I was quite intrigued by the various array of issues that people pointed out, so I kept reading... first few reviews, I saw the response to the Reviewer’s issues by iheartradio was that they wanted to resolve whatever issues they were having & to please contact (email) them, so they can further address the problem(s). I thought, “Wow, they really do want to make sure that the problem is resolved for that person & seem to be taking that extra step in doing so.” Then I kept reading....I would have to say that each & every review that I read, the response was always the same , “pls contact (email) us, so that we can look into this issue and help you resolve it. “ Then I realized, why wouldn’t they address the issue or at least write down a foot note to the review, addressing the outcome & HOW it was corrected!!! I decided NOT to dl the app at this time bc I’m not if all the issues written about were ADDRESSED & CORRECTED ?? It’s great that you guys address the concerns and ask people to contact you for help -but how about letting the rest of us reading the reviews know how things turned out? Were the issues corrected & MORE IMPORTANTLY, How??
Tricked into automatically enrolling.
by Buckeye chris on 2018/09/15 16:05
I’ll start by saying I love the IHeartRadio app. I’ve been using it for almost 10 years now. It’s great because I travel for work and when in my truck in areas where there’s no local stations I can still have music. Plus I love all the podcasts. For instance I listen to the Alan Cox show that’s airs in Cleveland Ohio. They have all the shows from the past year so even if I miss a day or two I can go back and listen. However yesterday when I opened the app I had a popup window asking me to subscribe to a monthly trial. I tried to close the window and it automatically enrolled me in monthly subscriptions. I’m amazed apps can even get away with this. You basically tricked me into getting the subscription. You took advantage of the in-app purchase and since I have touch ID enabled there’s no way to avoid it. Judging by the reviews and the post on the Apple forums this is happening to a lot of people. I was able to contact Apple and let them know what was going on and have the charges blocked. I shouldn’t have had to go through this process at all. I feel bad for all the people that aren’t going to realize it happened and be billed. If this happens again I will delete this app.
American Top 40 with Casey Kasem!
by wxntrafficfan on 2018/08/14 18:38
Back when I had my car, I was paying $30/month for Sirius XM expressly for the purpose of listening to one Casey Kasem show each week. Someone on Facebook had suggested that I login to iHeartRadio and simply search “Casey Kasem”, and I found a channel that streams just American Top 40 shows from the 70s and 80s 24/7! Being only 25, I was never able to listen to his shows live, and Casey had passed just as I started getting into his shows in 2014. I had previously only kept iHeartRadio on my iPhone and iPad to be able to stream a station out of Grand Rapids, Michigan in November and December each year when they switch to Christmas music. Needless to say, I stream American Top 40 through iHeartRadio at least 1-2 hours a day, and often listen to it for extended periods while at work. Thank you iHeartRadio for making it possible for me to listen to an icon I didn’t get to know until it was too late.
Way too easy to accidentally subscribe
by brappleye3 on 2018/10/15 16:44
I haven't minded the iHeartRadio app and service and it generally works very well and it’s easy to use. However... I was listening to the radio while riding my bike recently, and pulled my phone out to change the station I was listening to, and somehow managed to accidentally subscribe to the “Plus” service while attempting to lock my phone after. Sorry, it shouldn’t be this easy to subscribe to your paid services, or if it is, it needs to be easier to reverse it immediately so I don’t have to live with a subscription/charges I don’t care to have. I didn’t bother to call Apple to have the charge removed since it seemed like a hassle hardly worth $6. I was able to discontinue the subscription in my Apple account so I won’t get recurring charges. It’s just frustrating that I managed to buy something I didn’t intend to. It should require a few steps to get to the purchase, especially for a recurring subscription! If it manages to happen again, you can bet I will stop using this app and find a different way to stream the stations I listen to.
iHeart Radio App for iPhone 7
by HnTresS on 2019/03/08 22:52
I have been listening to the music on this app for over a week now and I can't enough of it. They made it easy to navigate with great features. It works for me and I haven't experienced any problems as of yet. I think that this app is awesome and I usually don't write many reviews on things unless it's worth my time. Besides there is an app for everything now a days to sit there and rate them all when you download or use them would take a while, at least in my case. I recommend iHeart Radio for those of you who love music without tons of commercial breaks. Thanks iHeart Radio and keep up the good work. So far you have a really great thing going for you and I hope that it doesn't change to much over time with a bunch of pointless improvements or updates that aren't necessary to the users or listeners.
The app slows everything down and even stops internet connection
by Jesuslovesme4ever on 2018/09/18 08:09
I wanted to like IHeart Radio but every time, I download the app (which I have downloaded and re downloaded multiple times), it significantly slows my internet connection or even stops it. It also takes forever to load one song on the app and much can't be done on the app when a song is buffering. I even tried closing apps and deleting one or two apps and the app still slows everything down- a lot or even stops apps and the internet all together. Every time, I download the app, the internet stops working and as soon as I delete the app, everything on my phone works normally and fast again. I like that there is a decent selection to choose from (although it seems like Apple Music and Google Play have more variety in music) and the radio station selection is awesome. This app would be great if only the app didn't slow things down. I really wish this app worked. If only it were fast and didn't halt internet connection. I've never had these problems with any other music streaming app.
App on repeat
by KyngEclipse on 2019/03/30 19:50
I do enjoy using the app every morning to get my daily dose of radio. However, lately it’s like the app has been on repeat. I know there’s a delay from the live radio broadcast, but why are the conversations starting over. In the middle of the conversations it goes silent for a few seconds and then the conversations start over from a certain point and it does this repeatedly for about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes it corrects itself but today it’s really gotten out of hand, I’ve missed over half of the live content because the first 30 seconds have been on constant repeat. It’s becoming annoying and makes me want to look towards other internet radio providers because it’s becoming too much to deal with now. *Update* Decided to come back and drop the rating due to the “help” that was offered from the developers. Why am I being asked for so much info that they should already have and also be asked to do this and that repeatedly when I already told the support team what was done to try and correct the issue. Dealing with support for this past week has been no help at all.
Unable to download podcasts for the last week
by 837394Hal on 2019/02/03 23:38
I love the app and I never leave a review on things. I’m reporting an issue. It was a little over a week ago. An update was sent out. Now I’m not able to download any podcasts. I’m forced to stream them only. It just keeps popping up with the message “unable to download” it repeatedly pops up ever couple seconds. I’ve checked to ensure I have given the app proper permissions. Please fix this issue. I get that I can’t download music or other things. Since I’m not a paying sub. As a free user I can only download podcasts. Which is good for me. I’ve always downloaded the Elvis Duran and the morning show. Along with three other Elvis Duran related shows. We really need the issue fixed, because it’s making me go over my data. I just got a text about being close to my 22.5 gig limit. I checked to see what is using my data. IHeartRadio has used 7 gigs in the last week. That’s because it’s fully loading the episode every single time I open up to listen. I will be forced to not use the app if this isn’t fixed. I will find something different. Love you all so please!!
Preffered over Pandora
by Moe The Messenger on 2017/12/23 11:48
I have used this app for about 3 years was pleased with the free version. I’ve seen it updated & pay for it to open up a few more features to find songs, some I can & some I can’t, but I pay the $5.99/month to repeat a single song once & some very limited song searching. I believed this app is good because I can mix genres of music & it’s intuitive enough to know when I need my gospel/Christian playlist vs. the other artists/songs that I’ve like in the past. It also offers suggestions & it doesn’t appear to be so commercialized, I repeat NOT a commercial distribution list of who you are forced to like. Some of my local/Independent artists have songs that I’m able to find. I’m thankful for that. I’m not an iTunes type of person. I hate I lost ALL of my music after switching from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 6s. It made my day to hear my own music that aren’t published on iTunes, so I’m glad to at least be able to search for the ones that I once had on here.
Dupped
by HaloFan239 on 2019/06/04 09:19
The app was great a few years ago and is fun on the desktop service since I last used it. I was itching for more radio recently and decided to open up the app. As soon as I did I was prompted with a subscription payment from iHeartRadio. They wanted me to verify that I wanted to try their trial subscription. I barely had enough time to look at what was going on before I accidentally rested my finger on my scanner and the subscription was accepted. I was lucky to be able to reverse it, however if I want that free trial now I have to use it immediately or not at all. This is ridiculous. I should not be immediately prompted with a payment upon opening an app that I haven’t used in months. Is downright disrespectful and near predatory. There was also no warning. No pop up to show me that I was going to make a purchase, no redirection. Immediately loading into the app I was forced into a transaction. From what I’ve read of similar reviews this isn’t uncommon. The lack of respect I was shown is disgusting to me. Please be wary of this. I will try out this app some more but this is a really bad way to start off.
I love the content, but not the updates
by Sammich12 on 2017/12/17 22:34
I first got iHeartRadio on my old ipod on ios6 and I loved it. They had a setting where I could explore music or listen to mostly the same stuff. They did away with that and I miss it. Since then they’ve made the sleep timer harder to access, and everytime I open the app I’m baraged with an ad to try to upgrade to a paid version. I don’ mind seeing that maybe once a week, but I’m using other apps more because I get this annoying self add every time I open the app. It’s also harder to find the most recent radio stations I listen to. It keeps getting harder and harder with the new updates. Lastly, I love the play on start-up feature, but lately it doesn’t work (even when turned on in the settings) probably because of the ad I have to close out of. I’ve dug out my old ipod and I now mostly listen to iHeartRadio from that with whatever version ios6 can handle
Good but could be better
by RyanDred on 2017/11/16 01:15
Honestly, this app is better than pandora. However, my main two issues with it are the dislike feature and the song selections when you choose a specific band or artist. 1. Dislike feature: The problem with it is that if you click the dislike button on a song, that same song will keep coming back later until you’ve disliked it 3-4 times. Then after about a month it’ll come back again 2. Band/artist song selection: My major issues with this feature is that when you choose a band you want to listen to, the app will play almost anything but that band/artist. For example, if you choose fallout boy the app will play a fallout boy song once in every ten songs or so. Therefore what is the point in being able to select an artist. Now I’m not saying I don’t want to hear things outside of the band/artist I have chosen, however, it would be nice to hear the chosen band/artist at least every other song or so.
Subscription

I was charged $5.99 for a subscription that I was “tricked” into signing up for. I canceled the subscription within minutes of discovering that I had signed up for it, but ended up being charged anyway. I went to the online help on the iHeartRadio app to verify that my subscription was canceled and there is no unsubscribe button to hit. I then emailed iHeartRadio and received this response. “iHeartRadio Customer Support does not internally handle subscriptions processed through Apple. However, if you need to cancel your subscription, you can do so by following the procedure below:” I folloedthe procedure “below” only to get to a dead end. I sure hope I don’t get charged again, I guess I will have to open up a dispute through my credit card company at this point. In the future I will be very very careful what buttons that I tap. It’s a shame that the app gets updated and changes around so much that it is unfamiliar if you don’t use it every single day. Through the many updates I have also lost my favorite stations and my saved stations, and it gets really frustrating.
In A World Where Danger Is Everywhere...
by Pastorlarry on 2018/11/07 19:10
I was a subscriber to a popular satellite radio company who shall remain nameless. 🤔🤷‍♂️😂 Well, I found myself in between jobs and needing to find a way to stay caught up on what was going on in the worlds of sports, current world events, and the like. I had downloaded the iHeart Radio iPhone application a few years ago, but I never used it. Actually, I had forgotten about it due to the metal plate in my head negatively reacting to the use of my microwave when preparing my burritos. (My bowels would release and I would forget who I was for about an hour or so.) Anyway, I decided to utilize the application so as to experiment with and experience the full effects of the frequently promoted pleasure of said application. I must say that I was quite amazed at the vast and diverse selections at my fingertips! I am very thankful for the opportunity to listen to my favourite programs! I give this application 4 stars due to the excellence in which they approach this stubborn, never say die medium known as ”Radio.” Download it now and find out what you are missing! Also, if you too have a metal plate in your head, your reception will increase by at least 80%! iHeart radio and unlimited data...it is like heaven on earth, it is like Ireland without the pipe bombs. It is 🎯💯 GOLD!
Used to work better
by OriginalDino on 2017/11/28 19:57
Before the last update, iHeartRadio would resume the last station I was listening to when it connected with my car’s bluetooth. After the previous update, I started having to hit the channel down button on my steering wheel to get it to start playing. Fine, whatever. But since the last update even that no longer works; I have to open the app and manually tap the specific station I want. Every. Single. Time. Also, since the last update, every time I start the station, I get a 30-second video ad. Uh, a VIDEO ad, on iHeart RADIO? Seems a bit self-defeating, especially since many of the video ads have no audio indication of what they are advertising. So I’ve just learned to turn the audio down to zero when first starting, until the word ADVERTISEMENT goes away from my radio display. I tried iHeartAuto once, thinking to would be better suited to what I wanted, but that app was completely hopeless.

Although there are a few things I feel that could be better. I feel like skipping songs shouldn’t be an exclusive thing only paid membership people can do an unlimited amount of times, cause on the radio station that is titled my name’s favorites, a lot of stuff is mixed in there that I don’t actually listen to. And also, despite giving them the thumbs down, they reappear again. What’s the point of giving that song a thumbs down if it’s just going to show up again? I know I’m nitpicky, but these are things I feel that could make the experience better for the users that can not afford a membership or a subscription. Cause right now I cannot work and I wanna listen to music how I want to...and that’s skipping over stuff I don’t like to get to what I do like.
Don’t waste your money
by Lilmama88888888 on 2018/02/06 14:59
This app isn’t even worth downloading the free version, definitely don’t throw your money away for the paid version. 30% of the time I can’t get anything to load on here. When I actually can get it to work, it takes about 3 minutes to load. It rarely remembers where I left off on the podcasts. For example, right now, when it started up, after 3 minutes of waiting, it started playing a podcast I had already listened to. I kept trying to go to the Podcast I had already listened to about half of. The circle around the play button would go around and around for about 4 minutes and then it would go back to the previous podcast. After about 8 tried and wasting 20 minutes, it finally played the one I wanted, but started back over at the beginning, I had to spend another 5 minutes figuring out where I left off. There are so many other places to listen to music and podcasts, go elsewhere, unless you like constantly wasting 20 minutes of your day waiting for things to load.
Fantastic Music
by MillionsLost on 2019/04/17 01:30
I have used iHeart Radio for about 3 years. I never have a problem finding the music I am interested in. The selection of live radio stations and genres is fabulous. I have lived in three different Countries besides the U.S. and it is fun to be able to find a “local station” from where I used to reside. iHeart makes it possible for me to stay current with the artists from these small Countries. This past weekend I went on a road trip through mountains. There were many places that Wi-Fi and even LTE were not available. iHeart radio continued playing through many of these places. Even when the radio stations on my radio weren’t playing. It really did make the trip better, having my favorite music along for the drive! Thanks iHeart!
Lousy App with Inconsistent Content
by ChiTownDave on 2019/06/04 20:07
They keep making this app worse! Now the app has to be restarted nearly every time I stop pause a channel. I can't help but wonder if they release updates as frequently as they do so that their app has more stars than it should. How about adding an option to nag screen of "Never" and making the default start screen "My Stations." Even trying to launch from the widget does not work as the app keeps forgetting my recent stations. I'd give it ZERO stars if I could. They took a buggy app that crashes, and introduced startup/channel change advertisements that delay getting to the program. It seems like every update makes this app perform worse. The newest version of app will just stop playing at the top and top and/or bottom of the hour. Further, the app once again fails to resume following a phone call. The widget also fails to play the station. Further, the app keeps forgetting recently played stations! More important is that channels like WLS are running commercials when the show has resumed for over-the-air listeners (that's assuming the stream is working at all). Further, app stops playing content for no apparent reason even while connected to WiFi. When tested against iheartradio on the computer (using same connection) the stream is playing on the computer, so the problem is with the app. Luckily, the content I enjoy is not limited to Clear Channel stations. Clear Channel should hire competent developers.
So many new problem
by Clarence kidney420 on 2018/10/06 19:23
Since the last update the app has been going crazy I pay monthly every month and it switches songs in the middle of listening to a song volume goes up and down like crazy and you can never find a number to talk to a person it makes me not want to pay with card monthly fee tried the free one does the same thing I would’ve given five stars but the new update messed it all up. They just keep saying it’s going to be fixed by their developers but they are not fixing it it has been almost 2 months paying $15 a month and they still have not even change thing and the only thing that they said was that they were working on it it’s all bull they don’t care about the people paying money the only way to get in touch with them is by email don’t waste your money they are as stupid as most people are these days horrible customer service maybe if they fix my radio station correctly I will give them a better review to be continued ?
App Issue
by Fjohn52 on 2019/02/28 14:31
For the third time, the app has gotten me to sign up for the $5.99 monthly version when I didn’t intend to. This didn’t happen ever until a couple of months ago. I pick up the phone to turn in the app and it asks for my thumbprint. Odd, but I do it. Then it says thanks for for subscription. There is no easy way to correct the mistake. It will let you cancel, but the charge isn’t reversed and I am stuck with it for a month. The first time, I spent a long time on the phone and email with Apple and PayPal. I eventually got the money reversed. The second time, I kicked myself for not having recognized it was happening again and I just canceled it and sucked up the $5.99 that I had to pay for a month of service I didn’t ask work. It happened again today and I am super frustrated. There must be something in this version of the app that is causing this because it never happened before. One had to go through a couple of steps to subscribe to the extra cost service.
Best app ever
by qweffhvf on 2019/05/31 20:52
I see a lot of reviews that aren’t positive about this app, yet I say there is no problems! Yes I know that there’s a lot of things you have to pay for, but there’s a lot of things you don’t. Like all my favorite channels, radio stations, and podcasts are free. I recommend this app for anybody Who likes listening to music. Also I was looking at my account and it gives me notifications whenever there’s a new song posted by One of my favorite artists and new podcast channels. I really like this app, and it kind of makes me feel weird that people are saying that it is a bad app. I mean how many apps give you a lot of free music? Not very many. Before I got this app I had to pay for all music, but now I get all my favorite stuff for free. #BestAppEver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ghosts Playing With My Phone??
by Tmama711 on 2017/10/28 11:57
I use this app every single day to listen to my local radio station morning show. I’ve never had an issue, always runs really smoothly, except for an occasional “dead air” or skip in the middle of a song. I don’t use it for much more, not even rating songs. Here’s my problem... I turn it off when I’m ready to walk out the door to go to work, and it randomly starts playing again. The app is completely turned off and closed. This happens several times a day. Even while I’m at work. I ended up deleting the app and reinstalled it hoping that would fix the problem. It didn’t. So I deleted it again to ensure that I wouldn’t be humiliated at work again by the random music playing from my purse. I download the app again because like I said, I listen to Elvis every single day but this is getting seriously old and annoying.
Too many repetitive commercials for radi
by Hagarpun on 2018/07/05 12:07
I like the app. I use the app for listening to my favorite radio station, WTKS 104.1. It can be glitchy at times, but I think it may have to do with cellular issues. The reason why I’m giving it 2 stars is because at every commercial break, it plays the same commercials over and over and over. I know the commercials played are a way to generate income for the app but it’s ridiculous how many times these same commercials are played. I personally will not ever buy any product or service from any company advertising on real radio because it’s sickening listening to them over and over. The funny thing is is that a lot of other listeners will complain about the app for this reason, on the air. Now, if I could pay the subscription to get more local commercials, I would pay for it not to hear the same commercials over and over and over. Are you listening iHeart radio?
Best Radio App
by BUST123 on 2018/07/22 02:11
EDITED: The one issue I had was resolved. I use this app frequently and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you. ... Aside from the following issue, this app is awesome. I love the ability to listen to radio through my phone. Hopefully this gets resolved, my rating would be higher. Nearly every time I open the app, it automatically tries to make an in app purchase and asks for my finger print. This has something to do with the pop up offer that comes up every time I open the app. Instead of allowing me to dismiss the offer, it acts like I clicked on it. I could easily have accidentally subscribed to your paid service if I wasn’t paying close attention. Based on the reviews, this appears to already have happened to several other unsuspecting users. Please find a way to prevent this pop up from showing up every time I open the app. I understand you need a source revenue and have no problem with advertisements. But I’m not interested in making any purchases and would like to enjoy this free app without the risk of accidentally paying for a subscription each time I open it. I will update my review when this is resolved.
So many songs I never wanted to hear
by LusitaniaAngel313 on 2017/12/20 09:10
So the only reason why I’m not ranking this 5 stars is my own favorites station. Before I had a pretty finite selection and I was cool with that! Now I’m flooded by songs I don’t really care for and it seems if I thumb them down, they return days later (example being Uptown Funk which I completely despise)! While yes the station will play some of the songs I do care for, once they switch to what they THINK I like, good luck getting my songs to play again. Also it annoys me when the same station flat out quits and won’t play anything! Like it ran out of content! Now I will admit this station has pulled some interesting surprises like pulling Jump by Rihanna to the station which made me happy as can be. I still listen wholeheartedly because where else can I blast CENTURIES into my ears? ;)
Pales to iPhone Podcasts
by TJTackleberry on 2019/06/07 19:46
Just tried the podcast function on this app and noticed a disappointing feature - when I shut off the car stereo or switch to the radio (in the car stereo) and come back to the podcast, the stereo starts playing default music from the iPod. Yet when I use the Podcast feature by iPhone or am playing music from the iPod and do the same thing, when I come back it picks up exactly where I left off with me not having to do anything. For the podcast function in iHeartRadio, I’ve got to reopen the app and select it manually. Not the best option when our state just passed a very restrictive law on cell phone usage in vehicles. There’s a button on my steering wheel that I just have to hit until I get to what output I want and don’t have to touch the phone. iHeart podcast app does not allow me to use this simple hands-free feature.

I love it. Amy is my favorite. I drive all day starting 430 am to 5 pm doing deliveries. I listen all day, Monday thru Friday. The local host lean a little left, but they always give the other side. They are fair. I listen to RUSH, Tom Sullivan and the Sheriff. And then Kitty takes me home. You have a great staff. Your news is informative and accurate. The CBS affiliate reporter sometimes is not. Your station will correct that immediately. I appreciate this station because they don’t try to sway my opinion. I appreciate all the hosts and like your line up. Of course RUSH is right leaning, Tom is middle of the road and the sheriff puts the topic as it applies to the law. I like that. I don’t care for his “deputy “ fill in host and miss the sheriff when he is gone. Love all of you. Keep up the good work!!
iHeartRadio
by Tomassetti_21 on 2019/05/29 23:43
I love iHeartRadio!!! I listen to it everyday! I think it’s the best app to listen to music to or hear the radio! I don’t think any other app would be better than this one!!!😁👍 I just have one problem, I don’t really like that the non-premium have only a about of skips. I totally understand why, because it would want to put your customers onto premium. But I would add a thing for the non-premium’s an add thing. If they watch a add they can automatically get one skip to use. In my opinion I think that’s a great idea but it’s up to u guys. I still will always use iHeartRadio! I just think that would be a good idea for the people that do have only a certain amount of skips. I hope u like my idea and maybe use!😄😁👍
Better Than Radio
by Alphadogtucker on 2018/01/25 18:39
I use this app every day. You can “create” “stations” that play music similar to your choice such as a band or style, although choices off the mainstrsam can be very limited. For example, if you choose Taiko, it won’t be long before Zaideco or Euro muzac is playing. IHR has a great selection of AM and FM radio stations. Great for listening to the news back home or that talk radio program that doesn’t play in your area. The trade-off here is the repetitive, ear-grating PSAs and ads that they play over the stations’ ads. If I could, I would pay the subscription price just to get rid of those awful PSAs. Don’t forget podcasts. IHR has a great collection with many categories. I listen to several about business and career skills. My favorites, though, are Ben Shapiro and Wretched Radio. Shapiro is a sharp political commentator who examines all sides and does not let party loyalty or ideology get in the way. Wretched Radio keeps you aware of movements and deviations from biblical Christianity but without the judgmentalism (except where it’s been earned). There are so many choices, it’s impossible to keep up. And you don’t have problems with interference or fading, as long as you have a good Internet connection.
it's not as grand as it was
by Allanah M. on 2018/04/11 20:30
The principal of it was splendid. The last update that I’ve done completely changed the look. The look is nothing. Nothing compared to how it works which has changed dramatically. I can’t access my saved stations. Saved not meaning my favorites as they were different on purpose. The app now starts off playing the last station and if I want to change the station I have to go through my now limited ability to see stations to do so. Clicking on it doesn’t change it instantly anymore and it takes ages for it to load a list I personally don’t care for and change the station. It’s overly complex for no reason. Having a list is fine after you’ve started my saved station or if it was a new station for me to see what would be on it. I throughly dislike it, and I forgot why I didn’t update it. I will go through iTunes and undo the update.
Generous 3 stars. Only because I love the morning show
by Chasingkeri on 2018/01/05 21:34
Dear iheart executive people, Why on earth would I even consider your premium version if you can't get the free app right? I haven't been able to listen to anything Elvis Duran in months because the pause button just spins and spins and hardly ever starts playing. I try the 15 min morning show, Elvis Duran replay channel, acquired taste podcast, Elvis Duran on demand and nothing works!! Finally today after months of attempts and ultimately giving up after about 20 minutes of silence it worked after 35 min. But I was attempting to listen to acquired taste and instead the ED replay channel started playing! So I tried to switch back to acquired taste and spins and silence again!!! What's up, iheart??!?
Good app ( sort of )
by Niablix on 2019/04/07 05:00
I’ve listened to this app for years discovering new artist I like and dislike but it’s on accident. Many times when I decide I want to listen to my station ( imagine dragons ) some other song will pop up! ( Panic! At The Disco ) please fix this so only songs written by that band or singer or something very similar will pop up when you listen to a station. Also I don’t understand why I have to pay $6.00 more just to skip songs I don’t like or pick a certain song on a station I want to listen to instead of having to listen all through a station I might not like just to listen to that song. Besides that I love IHeartRadio listening to my rock station while I’m busy or simply just being a lazy couch potato.... so please fix at least the first thing.
Love for my local station, BUT....
by CoolMomsRock! on 2018/10/10 17:38
Few things I don’t like. I considered paying for this because I use it a lot and was interested in the other paid features. Glad I used the free trial (since canceled). I used “my favorites” that’s supposed to play just what I’ve liked, and it played a mess of songs that not only didn’t I like, I’d most certainly never made the effort to click like in the first place. I prefer the pandora option of being able to create a station based on multiple songs or artists. And lastly, hello... why offer a “lyrics” option if there are never any lyrics available? Nothing worth than an ear worm with lyrics you know you’re not hearing right. So I ‘ll continue to use multiples until one music app gets it 100% right.
Stop the REPETITIVE ads!!!
by Bears99 on 2018/01/10 15:27
An American Red Cross ad played 15 times in a row today. That is ridiculous. This isn’t the first time either. It happens every time I use this app. Also, it seems every few months the ad that repeats over and over changes. A while ago it was about Jimmy and his grandpa talking about light bulbs, then it was about Alison and seat belt safety, now it’s for blood donation. I’ve written about this before and you replied saying “we need to have ads to support us to give you the best musical experience”. Well listening to an ad on an endless loop is hardly a great experience. So now every time I hear the Red Cross ad I know it’s going to repeat so I have to restart the app. Somethings that works, but mostly it restarts the ad repetition all over again. So I just have to sit there and listen to the ad until it stops. It happened today from 10:15 am through 10:25 am EST. I was listening to the Loop. You need to fix your crappy ad algorithms.
Bug needs fixing...
by Kim & Trone on 2019/01/29 14:47
There’s a glitch in the app that needs to be fixed ASAP. When I play an artist station (in this example, it’s Lindsey Stirling) and I tap to replay a song, a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT song begins to play. On a hunch, I went back into the replay menu yesterday and tapped on the song currently playing to see what would happen and lo and behold the song I originally wanted to replay started playing! What’s interesting is that the song that I “skipped by going to replay domes back on exactly two tracks later. The same happens if I let the “wrong” replay song play through—the song I really wanted to replay comes back on two tracks later. It’s really frustrating and I like the vast majority of the songs that play on the artist station I listen to daily, so it feels like I’m skipping stuff I like just to replay a song I want to hear. Even my 9-year-old noticed it! Please fix this.
Used to be the best but now
by wndyeliza on 2018/02/16 05:36
I down loaded iHeart Radio several years ago and was a very loyal listener because l could get any artist l wanted even some of the lesser known ones ( NOT flavor of the year types). I’m punching in favs having a good time. Well, lost my job and hasn’t opened the app now l find all of the things l used to do for free l get the opportunity to pay for. Why do l have to pay for their bad management? Yes, l know they almost went bankrupt, but why are you screwing the fans? We are the ones who come to the festivals paying big bucks, so now l get to subscribe to get my unlimited plays back, what does that hurt you guys that you need money for it? If you’re that close to going BK then re-organize so you don’t hurt the people who came to you in the first place and kisten to your stations on/off the app. You have a good thing, don’t get greedy.
STOP HIDING SAVED STATIONS!
by Hansoloicanthearyou on 2017/12/21 22:20
This new update was the last straw for me. Every update the app gets less and less useful and harder to use. First off the “for you” page is completely worthless. Stop making that the landing page. Second, every single time you update the app it becomes harder and harder to find my saved stations. It is sooooo annoying! I should be able to just hit the app and it starts playing the last station I listened to. Sometimes it will sometimes it seems to have no idea what I listened to last so I have to hunt around the app to find my saved stations. Then once I get used to how to find it you update it again and move the saved stations AGAIN. The landing page should be simple - recently played stations and then your favorite stations on a scrolling list. I shouldn’t have to hunt around the app for 10 minutes trying to find them.
Tricked me into paying for a subscription
by MigrantFarmer on 2018/08/03 14:30
About a month ago, a pop-up got me to click on a free trial that I didn’t care for. Clearly, the X to exit the pop-up is too small, and you can unintentionally hit the ad instead of the X. Once the free trial ended, another pop-up came up yesterday when I was trying to turn on iHeartRadio. I thought I dismissed it, but a message kept coming up asking me to enter my iTunes password. Every time I dismissed that iTunes password request, it kept coming back. I assumed it was for an update, so eventually I just gave in and entered the password. I didn’t know it was to make a purchase. There was no other indication that the password would force a subscription. That is shady as hell. This company is pathetic for taking advantage of people like this. It makes sense why they are doing this forced subscription trick, though. These guys have been losing money since 2017. Nobody cares about their trash app.

The service seems to be more about playing the same stupid commercials over and over again. So bad that I have resolved to never buy any of these products and services. Going back to just listening to my own music. If I could give it no stars I would.
If your going to play adds do a better job of it

I have been listening for 15 minutes and have heard the same ad 7 times so far and am currently listening to it for the 4TH TIME IN A ROW. This happens all the time

Recent update has ruined app

It looks like the app now HAS to be open to play audio - which makes it absolute garbage On top of that, it’s only playing ads on a loop

I love this app however today I opened it and I usually am able to listen to it while I’m on Facebook or instagram however today that wasn’t working for me maybe they changed the app and they no longer have that function but if so I’m switching because that’s how I used it most of the time.

Commercials

Seems to cut off way to often and then starts up with a new ad.
Not very useful when signal is weak
by AP75000 on 2019/09/06 16:10
The app restarts with commercials after every “disconnect “ - which occurs frequently in poor cell signal areas: so I have to endure a barrage of ads each time the signal becomes strong enough. Also a bug where some elevator music start playing upon connecting occasionally.
Too many commercials
by fxysnik on 2019/09/06 14:29

Great app but...
by Type R505 Kia on 2019/09/06 13:28
I really enjoy the app I listen to podcasts on it from time to time. The issue is if you pause the video it kicks you out and you have to reopen the app. Once you reopen the app sometimes it will resume the podcast from where it was playing and other times it completely losses your podcast you which podcast you were listening to as well as your place in the podcast. It can be inconvenient to pause it for ten seconds to a minute and have to spend all the time pulling it back up and trying to find it again.
Amazingly few live radio stations

iHeartRadio makes my life easier and more enjoyable.

Subscription
by Funbro1 on 2018/09/19 10:53
I was charged $5.99 for a subscription that I was “tricked” into signing up for.
I do love the radio options
by Cherie Fairy on 2018/08/09 06:06
Although there are a few things I feel that could be better.
