Randomly plays music
by Firemedic723 on 2022/01/19 19:40
Great music stations but lately the app randomly starts playing my last station. Who likes to be woken up to techno music at 2am while in a deep sleep. I emailed tech support, uninstalled app, reinstalled, did everything they asked and it still happens. Random times but mainly at night.
News and Ads
by udueheueueiieywy on 2022/01/19 08:37
Instead of hearing local news, you replay the same news reports over and over again for days. Bring back local news. Also stop replaying the same ads over and over again. So annoying
Best station ever

Best station that tells the truth about what is going on in this world. LOVE THE KUHNER MAN?
MAKE IT STOP
by misstxbelle on 2022/01/18 15:39
The app opens and begins playing Christmas music. This has happened three times thus week and I completely close out the app every time. Today my iPhone was on the desk beside me and suddenly began playing Christmas music. I did not touch it, I did not tell Siri to begin iHeart, no contact at all !!!! MAKE IT STOP
Bad
by flindutchman on 2022/01/18 04:58
It tells me sometimes I can’t listen to local stations in my country. I’m in the US listening to local station.
Great until it wasn’t
by Minnesota Bobbi on 2022/01/17 20:49
Loved and used this app daily on my iPhone until today when it stopped in midstream, went black and stopped and I can’t get it started. I use it mostly to listen to local radio stations when traveling or unable to access programming I want. Wish I could figure out a remedy

Beat you to death with repeat ads
by djonesutas on 2022/01/17 14:33
This app runs the same ads over and over and over on every break. It ruins trying to listen to terrestrial radio on this app.
Randomly starts playing
by shelbymarsh20 on 2022/01/17 05:21
The app randomly starts playing even when I have it closed. Like middle of the night waking me up and scaring the daylights out of me! Also, sooooo many ads. This is the only app that lets me listen to the radio station I play every morning and not only do I have radio station ads but also iHeart ads on top of it. I’m going to have to find something else to listen to and just delete this app if it keeps playing randomly.
Commercial free? Nope
by Le Go Brandon on 2022/01/16 22:46
It goes from ‘all 80 commercial free’ to a commercial every five songs or so. I need to delete the app & re log in 3-4 times to stop the pre recording commercials.
Randomly starts blasting music
by Create Nickname II on 2022/01/16 21:28
This app has started randomly blasting music at the most inopportune times.I was sitting in church today, minding my own business and suddenly my phone started blasting music in my pocket. It turned out to be this app, and I don’t even think I have an account with or use this app, so I don’t have a clue what’s going on. Uninstalled.
Could be a lot better
by Defa111321 on 2022/01/16 13:35
It’s nice having something to listen to while I work, but the song selection is limited. Also, I pay the $12.99 so I don’t have to listen to ads and every 5-10 minutes I get several ads. Anywhere from 5 to 7 commercials. SEVEN commercials!! When I pay to not have to hear that crap!! So if you are considering paying the extra, just save your money and do the free or bare minimum!! You’ll just pay to listen to nonstop advertisements…
Noice

Commercial Free?
by Jeffgordon2488 on 2022/01/15 13:52
Im was listening to IHeart 10s commercial free station this mornin and there was commercials. Um IHeart can you please fix that? App is great overall!!!
App keeps shutting off.
by bus driver 66 on 2022/01/15 04:08
I like IHEART because it lets me listen to the radio stations I grew up with, even though I no longer live in Colorado. The only frustration I have is that the app stops playing. I live in a hilly area with spotty reception. I get that there’s nothing I can do for that. However, when the signal stops, so does the app. I can’t reach over every 2 minutes to hit the play button to see if the signal is back. It would be great if play wou just resume when the signal does.
About what so boring and dumb and how Spotify is better
by praisecorycj on 2022/01/14 15:40
So iHeart is trash dumb stupid you have to start a free trail for 9.99$ and Spotify you don’t have to start a free trail you can just put in your email you won’t HAVE TO START A STUPID FREE TRAIL LIKE IHEART SO IM BOUT TO DELETE IHEART AND DOWNLOAD SPOTIFY OK I JUST DID SEE ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PUT IN YOUR EMAIL IN SPOTIFY SO EVERYONE READING THIS DOWNLOAD SPOTIFY!!
Was a Great app until iHeart started playing randomly!
by Pure_Silk on 2022/01/13 04:13
I’ve had the app downloaded for years and listen to it all the time! Iheart radio randomly starts playing even when I have the app closed. I’m trying to fall asleep and all of a sudden KFAN from iheart radio starts playing at a loud volume!
Crashes
by Tifflanee on 2022/01/12 21:23
Why does it constantly stop during live shows and sometimes it’ll pick up where it stops other times not?!! You have to force quit the app constantly. I just bought me a radio from bestbuy. Back to the old school.
It just starts randomly playing!
by Sunseil on 2022/01/11 15:15
Seriously. Like in the middle of the night. Even if the app is closed. I love what it’s supposed to be but no one needs woken up in the middle of the night, even if it is good music. Or to have loud music start while you’re in a zoom meeting. If you google it, it happens to basically everyone at some point and the app makers don’t seem interested in fixing it since you can see it’s been happening since like 2012. The only solution I found was to delete the app, so that’s what I did.
Commercials leading to the downfall of society
by Jaime34 on 2022/01/10 21:33
What the actual H with these commercials?? Red Pill News? “Boomers, the liberals are coming for your retirement?” Pretty soon, I’m going to get an ad for I Heart Radio presents “Insurrection Daily” now with detailed discussions of the blueprints of the Capitol Building.
Too many ads
by Pissedaboutads on 2022/01/10 18:24
Not only do you get ads before the episode and after but, just recently ads have been added in the middle of the episode even 2 to 3 times in the middle of the episode. It never used to be that way and it’s quite annoying when I’m trying to listen continuously. Please eliminate ads only to before or after, not both or in the middle . The ads make me have to pull out my phone at work way too many times to fast forward thru them. It’s ridiculous. Please do something about it instead of just reading the review and doing nothing about it.
App will open itself and start playing
by Mysticladyfox1954 on 2022/01/10 18:24
This app has started playing music on its own 3 different times. Two times it was open in the background, but not used for several hours and started playing music around 2-3 am while I was sleeping. The third time I had closed all other apps on my phone, then this one started playing music while I was using Instagram even though the app wasn’t open.
Unnecessary
by joe broke on 2022/01/10 13:31
While I enjoy good playlist provider, and I heart radio it’s good for providing songs and video stations, no hassle the hassle that there is in wanting to change something about your billing/subscription makes it do you like it’s not worth it. The free edition does not have all the bells and whistle‘s that you hear DJs speak about. So I felt sort of roped into a paid subscription. I am trying to cancel the paid subscription, which there is no option on the site to do this. One has to go to The App Store, and even then it is an endless tail chasing. I guess I’ll have to go to my bank and put a stop.
Great content, terrible app
by Jonny Zebra on 2022/01/10 07:56
I love the many options this app brings to the table, but who ever developed this piece of crap should be fired. If you’re listening to one of the many awesome podcasts or stations on this app, it will render any other function of your phone virtually useless. It also doesn’t work sometimes and crashes too frequently for an app of this magnitude in 2022. Can’t live with it, can’t live without it.
Hard to believe professionals made this
by Dissatisfied Pingboard User on 2022/01/09 14:50
Stops playing anytime I go to any other app, randomly decides it doesn’t want to play podcast episodes, plays random commercials over parts of the morning show I’m trying to listen to. Never has my location correct and plays ads from other states. Hands down the worst app on my phone.

IHeart app
by fed up with tik tok on 2022/01/08 11:01
Your adds are the worst. Are you trying to chase us away or hope that we get so fed up with them that we upgrade. Can’t you quit playing the same addd over and over again some of them are just annoying. I understand why you play adds. Just quit playing the same ones. Other then that I love the app. Thanks

IHeartRadio
by wordscrapes rule in the game on 2022/01/07 05:30
i did remember rating the app before and the app itself replied to me but yet couldn't find it which was unfortunate. But anyways. The app is really good actually. Nothing is buggy, the songs play normally, etc;. Even though i deleted it and downloaded Spotify because of one great friend of mine recommended it, i spent a-lot of time on the app a-lot for probably more than a year. I say this because, you don't always track everything, but i definitely know that i frequently used it. It's really only a 4-star because you have to pay for the playlists, which i found annoying a little. Everything else is okay, skips, shuffles ( i think ), etc. I hope the person who replies to the other comments replies to this one as well. it would be one heck of a surprise once i come back from school or wake up in the morning.
One thing I look forward to in the morning to get me going in the right direction. Keep it up!

Commercials
by jdbdvdhdyskwt on 2022/01/05 22:45

Gross advertising from Trojan
by hobbit gran on 2022/01/05 22:04
I have loved IHeart radio until now. I used to be able to listen to podcasts but now am unable to. Many of us have young children around or are in mixed company when listening. These ads by Trojan are beyond embarrassing!

CarPlay problems
by Atvraptorman on 2022/01/05 17:11
Why do I have to open up the app on my phone first in order for it to work? Never used to do this. Every time there’s an update it makes things worse. Stop updating until you work out the bugs first. Annoying….

by Caroline Carbaugh on 2022/01/05 00:38
As much as I love this app I’m just coming in here to say that the American top 40s station that I listen to to see where songs are in the chart each week I’m noticing that that station is not working I don’t know if it is technical difficult to your what but lately what I’ve been trying to play it keeps on buffering so just fix that problem please other than that your app is fine PS, the station is working I think it was a technical difficulty in the station but just be mindful when he make future updates because there are some people who use this app who can’t see
It’s just okay if you use the artist radio stations
by 82flavors on 2022/01/04 23:15
I use the artist radio stations and I don’t know if it’s me or if the application can’t figure out more then 20 songs to play over and over for some other reason. Pandora has multiple modes to mix it up more so that would be something good. Besides the application on apple the website will only play one song then sit in loading mode forever so I just gave up and use pandora. But the rest is good. I hope it improves because I like the actual radio stations from different cities.

No rewind button on Lock Screen widget?????
by Jc54226 on 2022/01/04 15:09
Lots of good content, but how does the Lock Screen widget not have a back 15 seconds button??? There’s a forward 30 button but no back button. It’s the only missing feature I need that would make it a 5 star app.

by ghgfjjg on 2022/01/01 21:18
I’ve used Iheartradio for years with little no issue. There must have been an app update recently, because now the app will open itself and start playing at all hours of the day. I’ve had to install the app because it’s became too much of an inconvenience.

Ads need to be changed
by bbflowwrgirl on 2022/01/01 15:44
I’ve been listening to I heart radio for years now. I’m going to have to stop if you don’t change some ads. Theirs is a station that I’m sure kids listen to and it not appropriate to have Trojan commercials talking about sexual pleasure running every 5 minutes I’m sure you can find someone else

Volume increases during Ads driving me away
by SunnyGirlTN on 2021/12/31 09:51
I like the content on the iHeart app. I listen to several radio stations and a few podcasts. But I’m ready to leave the app. When a program cuts to their ads the volume increases drastically! So I turn the volume down. When the program returns the volume decreases. So I turn the volume up. It’s ridiculous that I have to be tied to the volume button anytime I’m on the iHeart app. Sometimes the ads will blast into my ears since I wear my AirPods and it’s really uncomfortable until I can lower the volume. I don’t know if there is a work around for this problem. It would seem reasonable to me that the app broadcast at a steady decibel level regardless if I’m listening to a program or an advertisement. But apparently not. Be warned when you’re wearing your air pods!!! The ads will be significantly higher in volume than the program you’re listening to!! Is there a fix for this problem?! If not I’m ready to move on to something else.

Leftist news updates
by Kshsyyhstbd on 2021/12/30 23:55
iHeart has recently chosen to start subtly sourcing short news stories during commercial breaks with a clear left-wing agenda. Ironically, it crashes all the time now. Done wth this trashy app.

Fixed: Stops playing when screen sleeps or when not active
by Jclark345 on 2021/12/29 03:12
One of the big reasons I use iheart to listen to podcasts is I can still multi task and look at other things on my phone while listening. I ran into an issue where this app wouldn’t let me. When restarting the app didn’t work, I restarted the phone, which fixed the issue.

by mmsrgood on 2021/12/27 05:38
Love this app. Haven’t listened to radio as much as I have since I started listening to iHeart Radio app. It’s been absolutely awesome❗️I haven’t tried the podcasts because I enjoy the music So much. Only wish I have is I personally would like to hear the name of the song & singer(s) before just so I could learn the artists. Sometimes I think I know them only to find out I was totally wrong. I guess mainly because I don’t sit looking at my cell to know the artists. Just inconvenient to stop what I’m doing while listening to get up or walk over to my cell to view the artists. Otherwise, definitely would be 5+ stars❗️

Playlist
by Maxxx191 on 2021/12/26 20:22
Why do you guys add songs to my playlist? If I wanted the songs you auto added to my playlist I would have added them. Now as I’m listening songs just play intermittently play within my playlist and I have to “skip” them and give thumbs down! I understand you could recommend songs similar to my “taste” in music but Don’t drop them into my personally made playlist! If I’m listening at bedtime trying to doze off to songs I chose ,your picks for me play and I can listen or get phone and pull up the skip option, it’s frustrating especially at bedtime, I often fall asleep to my (easy listening) playlist and your picks “Bam” play and wake me up, or take me out of my relaxed mode!!!

I have an iPhone; is there a fix for this????
Love the App but TOO expensive
by that nick name is tak3n on 2021/12/22 22:53
Yo… I love you’re app … but you’re charging way to much. I’m sorry , you’re charging 12.99 a month is obscene. I know you’re gonna make money either way off the advertisements so you really don’t care about my opinion. Maybe something more reasonable like 5.99 or 6.99 a month I could see myself paying it. And that’s a maybe considering you got Apple Music and a lot of other options out there. Shame. If it were 3.99 or 4.99 , something reasonable and fair I’d have a subscription for life. But yo I’m not getting raped by y’all. .. I’ll deal

by CeCeLuna on 2021/12/21 14:22
I like some radio stations which is why I keep this app around but don’t use it frequently because it crashes a lot and stops playing for no reason and I have to restart the app. The amount of ads is obnoxious in addition to regular radio ads. Free version is not free of regular radio station ads so you’re still stuck with them no matter what.

They should have a way to rate ads so stuff we don’t want to hear when a ad pops up, this is because I hear so many of the same ads that it is very annoying for me
Love this app, but recently…
by Libbylouu on 2021/12/17 16:09
Hello 5 am. This app has automatically been playing a station randomly at early hours in the morning. It’s not even open in the background, nor does it open upon randomly playing. It’s extremely annoying, as I usually have just gotten home from an ER night shift, and am just falling asleep. I’m highly contemplating deleting the app until fixed!
No thanks
by furinthal on 2021/12/17 00:32
I never turned it on, but it kept playing a podcast I never wanted to play every time I got in my car. Be gone
Way too many ads
by Steve5901 on 2021/12/17 00:06
I used to love this app, but I’m going to find a new one. The latest update puts a 30 second ad every time you open the app or change channels. I like to change channels a lot so the ads are really annoying. Also, some stations add their own ad when logging on - like WABC - so you get more ads before you even get the station.

Ads
by LP126 on 2021/12/16 11:59
Ads are too repetitive. Keep repeating over and over during same broadcast. Also ads in another language on an English language station is a turnoff. Same Spanish J.C. Penney commercial today within 15 minutes just this morning . Once more and I’m turning it off !
Music plays on its own???
by sugarangel on 2021/12/16 11:39
I’ve had iHeart for years and absolutely love it. I strictly use it just to listen to Z100 on my phone when I’m on the go. However, since last month, the app will launch on its own and just start playing Z100 at random times. Just recently, it started playing at 4am, waking me up of course 😫 I’ve looked through the settings to see how I could fix this, but with no luck I found nothing. Who do I need to reach out to have this fixed??? I’m on the verge of completely deleting this app if this keeps happening.
Not good at all

One Small Issue
by MetalKaden on 2021/12/15 22:15
This is a good app. However, I hate that I have to make an account just to use it, since I don’t have to do this on the website, nor do I want to. Please stop forcing the end-user to create an account, because it’s very annoying 😡.
Just a little bit of how I’m feeling right now…

I think that you guys at iHeart take the music seriously and you’re very passionate your things that you are interested in.😎😄
Fix Your Ad Delivery
by JDKMNILTX on 2021/12/15 14:59
As I type this, I'm listening to my favorite out of town station and I've heard the exact same healthcare ad EIGHT times in a town for one commercial break. I would be very upset if I'm an advertiser and my ads were being delivered this way. From the listener perspective, it makes me want to close out of the app and switch to a podcast.
Quit using app: excessive ads on live radio.
by BradBeeman on 2021/12/15 03:29
I stopped using the app because of the excessive Internet ads as I’m trying to listen to live radio. An example of my frustration is trying to listen to top of the hour news… Four minutes of ads opening the app makes me miss it. You should not play ads when someone is trying to open a live radio station. I got an old-school a.m. radio to solve this problem, thus you are missing out on ad revenue because of the excessive ads causing me to force quit your app. I have now dropped it all together. The app also tried to take over my music listening. I use Apple Music. So your app is toast on my phone/iPad. Update after Developer Response: I already did that. I suppose it could be that Apple’s privacy changes make our devices look new to you every time we get out of app and back in, whether one session to the next or if we go out to other apps when iMessages come in (and back into your app to hear more ads)…you’ll have to figure that out. iPhone 12 Pro, up to date iOS and your app.
Solid situationally but the auto-launch with Bluetooth is awful
by O SprinG on 2021/12/14 16:07
I like the app for streaming a podcast or two but the app recently began auto-launching when I turn my airpods on. It's not a huge deal but it's incredibly annoying to open the app and force stop it so often. Considering uninstalling as no fixes can be found online
Plays radio stations…

Love the opener every time I open the app “ads help keep iHeart radio free” only to load on to a radio station playing ads that owns and operates iHeart radio. LOL!!!

I love the app but....
by ToeFur79 on 2020/01/01 17:13
This app is great for listening to music. I love all the iHeart decades I listen to them all. You finally added iHeart 10. Ya. I also love listening to Valentine in the morning best morning show out there in my opinion of course. I do wish the full paid version was 10$ like apple’s. But I keep listening to the free version until that happens. Now to the only complaint I have you introduced podcasts okay I had never listened to nor cared about them until you started playing them then I found ComicBook nation and I was hooked. I have also found some really cool “radio dramas” but and here’s the problem I cannot listening to them in order with out opening the app after every podcast and selecting the next one otherwise it plays them in reverse order every time. Who wants to listen to a story backwards? I have played with the little arrows at the top of the podcast but that just reorders them on the list not the actual playing order. So I have unsubscribed from all of the podcasts that I am not caught up on until you fix is. Im not getting a ticket for being on my phone while driving just so I can hear a story I order. Love the app please fix this. Thank you for all you great work.
Was great on Windows Phone, new web app version six
by Nominally Normal on 2017/12/10 18:10
Loved this app on my Windows Phone, installed it when I was forced to switch to iPhone (which has been an inferior user experience in almost every way - it can’t even do autocorrect as well as the WP, but I digress), and it was pretty similar throughout the fall of 2017... logged in today, December, to find everything changed. I can’t figure out how to get to my favorite artist-based station (can find artist in search, but there doesn’t seem to be a station option anymore?) can’t find the Recently Played Songs list once I’m playing a station. It’s fine to change things, but not in such an extreme way that it appears so nonsensical to even fairly on-top-of-things users that they can’t easily find the features that are important to them. I don’t know if it was a web app before, but it must be because I don’t recall downloading an update and everything is just a little off, not polished and smooth like a native app would be. I expected that sort of thing on a minority platform like WP, but it’s really disappointing to have a worse experience on a brand new iPhone. Anyway, this app is in need of some major organizing/UI changes before it can match the user experience of previous versions. If I have to put in hours curating my stations (which looks like the direction this is going), as opposed to having a variety of stations that are good, just need minor tweaks to be great, I’d might as well use Pandora!
iHeartRadio
by toddster70 on 2018/02/04 11:50
I would have given it a five star BC I simply love being too listen to my home rock station when I'm working BC I work out of town most of time. But for some crazy reason lately it has started at 100% volume, even just now I got a head start on it and began working it down to about 60 % for it just to jump right back full blast even though I was holding down on volume button. Now I really can't explain how out why it would be turning down and almost to the half mark just for it to jump to the full volume while I'm still holding on the volume but this is not some thing that I can take or tolerate at 615 am nor will my boss's or work mates at this time in the morning and hell it could give some one a heart attack when u go from nor hearing a thing where a needle could be able to be heard hitting the floor. But you could say every one is awake today after this Bluetooth box going off. Please let me know what could and out can be done and if it's anything to do on my part in really sorry for not given the extra star but I had the volume working down for it to start over. Thanks and please have this fixed or fixed for me. Have no complaints about anything else so everyone download this app and listen to your favorite tubes so day and all the time for free.
Subscription
by Funbro1 on 2018/09/19 10:53
I was charged $5.99 for a subscription that I was “tricked” into signing up for. I canceled the subscription within minutes of discovering that I had signed up for it, but ended up being charged anyway. I went to the online help on the iHeartRadio app to verify that my subscription was canceled and there is no unsubscribe button to hit. I then emailed iHeartRadio and received this response. “iHeartRadio Customer Support does not internally handle subscriptions processed through Apple. However, if you need to cancel your subscription, you can do so by following the procedure below:” I folloedthe procedure “below” only to get to a dead end. I sure hope I don’t get charged again, I guess I will have to open up a dispute through my credit card company at this point. In the future I will be very very careful what buttons that I tap. It’s a shame that the app gets updated and changes around so much that it is unfamiliar if you don’t use it every single day. Through the many updates I have also lost my favorite stations and my saved stations, and it gets really frustrating.
Good App for streaming
by JLChaney's iPhone on 2019/06/05 16:46
It really is a good app. On the plus side, it is efficient with band usage if you have a limited internet plan. It is stable, with good buffering (I have lousy internet in my area so this is vital to me). It has a lot of content, including podcasts galore that can be downloaded. The minus, for which I deduct the stars has been to do with the ads. (I know, I could subscribe, but the monthly is too high for what I am listening too. Maybe some day someone can develop some sort of tiered subscriptions for those of us who just listen to limited content). I listen to a 24 hr news show with commentary. I grew up listening to KFI640 Los Angeles every morning. I don’t begrudge iheart for slipping in a couple of ads here and there, but you step right over THE PROGRAM ITSELF! Your ads should step on top of their ads, not the program. I want the whole news, not just the commentary. That’s what I chose, and it infuriates me when you cut the program off for a crappy 7-11 add, for which I will NEVER set foot in as my blood pressure rises, every time I see the sign and am reminded it’s going to INTERRUPT the program I am listening to in the morning. Iheart could program the timing of their ads better than this.
Subscription is too expensive
by StotkaGirls on 2018/10/06 03:55
Almost but not quite 5🌟, would have kept my monthly subscription but it’s way too costly. For just radio I thought, but considering it’s only $15 or so it’s not that bad. It would be great for a disc jockey (DJ) or a wedding event you can actually set up your own play lists so it can just continue playing continuously. Unless you feel the need to have the DJ interact with you like your in a pub or event to interact with the crowd. I’m sure that if you had issues to where you didn’t have a DJ show up for work then this would work for most small town or small scale clubs that’s holding only 50/75 people or so. I will say that most of the time I am able to find just about anything I want to listen when I had the subscription. And I didn’t have to listen to commercials. It’s really nice cause if you are a big music fan who buys a lot of tracks per month then I would just personally purchase a subscription to the iHeartRadio app. It’s just that cool. But being that I don’t buy that much music and I just couldn’t see spending that kind of money per month.
Good App (Usually...)
by Rosemaryadventure23 on 2018/01/05 02:52
Edit: It seems like all of the other problems I list below are gone now, due to the fact that I can’t get the app to play ANY music now. None of my stations work, they all constantly have a loading symbol, and where the artist’s other songs/info are, it says, “Artist Profile is not available at this time”. The app is completely useless to me at this point because it doesn’t do anything, and this started today only a few hours ago. This can’t be a phone problem because I have the latest iOS on a brand new iPhone 8. I’m hoping this will be fixed soon. I've used this app for a few years, and I've discovered many new artists and songs through this app. However, I've been experiencing a few problems lately. My biggest problem is that sometimes the app will refresh in the middle of a song, and not just pause it, but get rid of the song completely. I'm not sure if I can fix this in my phone settings or if it's an app issue, but this has never happened before. Another issue is that some ads with sound play at the same time as a song, which is obviously annoying. Overall, it is a good app and does what it promises, but with a few bugs.
Love iHeartRadio and stuff to blow your mind
by scooter 501 on 2020/10/23 14:11
I really enjoy listening while working or just enjoying the show. Because I’m a new listener I do find it hard to navigate around the “Stuff” material. The list is so long that I find myself getting lost in the scrolling. It would be very helpful to divide the listening segments into groups, such as years of dates. That way you could find your place easier. I have recommended the show to friends but they all have trouble finding a particular podcast that I recommended. I also find it interesting that the earlier segments that date from 2010, which were hosted by a guy and gal had a different point of view than the more recent segments hosted by the two guys. (Sorry they are great but I can’t remember their names) I enjoy the male point of view that comes across but the difference is noticeable to me. Maybe they could throw in a female cohost once in a while.
It’s all about the money
by Chief Colorado on 2019/09/15 10:58
I really thought I’d struck gold when i-heart radio was commercial free without a fee. Then it happened, they now charge for commercial free and the free station is littered with commercials that are louder and obnoxious in between the music I love to listen to each day. It’s sad it’s about the money and nothing is sacred anymore without a profit motive. The commercials can’t be manually jumped over and they are louder than the volume of the music. They interfere with atmosphere of the songs being played. I manually reduced the volume so I don’t have to listen to the drivel of each commercial played. Then they put you through a torturous video commercial at startup before you get to listen to your favorite music. Honestly, I can’t even remember one of their commercial sponsors except for the monotone , “Cars for kids “ that I muted until it goes over. We are so mercifully pelted with commercials these days that I don’t honestly remember any commercial I hear. If I’m going to by something, I use a search engine to find what I’m in need of and not brainwashed into buying something from an obnoxious repetitive commercial. If anything, I’m repelled by the commercials and boycott their products. Thank you for the opportunity to vent my displeasure with today’s technology held hostage by advertising ad-nauseum. Yuck!
Great but one issue...
by Reviewer errrrr on 2019/06/04 00:46
I am completely loving this app. Features that I love is that it plays in the background of any other app. This is the best especially when using Waze in the car. I can still get the verbal directions from waze and the volume of iHeartRadio goes lower but doesn’t shut off! Also, when I close the app mid podcast, the podcast restarts automatically upon returning to the app. This also continues playing when minimized and when the phone is locked. The only feature that I would love to see change is the order in which the podcasts play. Instead of going up the list, example #4 to #5, the podcasts will play going down the list from #5 to #4. This means that you have to physically go into the app and click on the next podcast on the list. This is something that I hate doing, particularly when driving as it’s dangerous! I would love for iHeartRadio to fix this issue so that I can play a podcast list, and let it run up the list without needing to reopen the app and physically tap the next on the list. Besides this issue, I love this app for podcasts!
Worst app for podcasts
by thetashalee on 2020/10/25 15:02
Literally the clunkiest app I’ve ever used. If you can listen to your favorite podcasts on another app, do it! Unfortunately the Elvis Duran Show is owned by iHeartRadio, so I have to use this app to listen to their replay shows and podcasts. It takes forever just to open the app and get to the show I want to listen to. I keep the app open if I have to pause for a bit, and usually I try to come back later and listen... only to find that the app has closed itself and I have to go and search for the podcast I was listening to. A lot of times it doesn’t save my place, so I have to fast forward to where I was. This app has TRICKED ME into accidentally signing up for their premium, paid version by randomly bringing up the thumbprint authorization even after I had closed out of the ad. I’ve also tried listening to some of my favorite shows “live” and it constantly cuts out. I’ve had this app for years and despite going through many updates, it still is just NOT great. I don’t know how anyone can give it more than 3 stars. Either make my favorite shows available on the Apple podcasts app, or make this stupid app BETTER.
Super inconsistent
by DigitalDCH on 2019/07/07 11:27
I use this app because it gives me access to older podcasts than apple’s podcast app does, but this app is absolutely infuriating! Sometimes the controls will be available from the home screen or the control center, but not always. Sometimes the controls have play/pause, skip forward 30s and skip backward 15s, but sometimes it’s play/pause, skip forward 30s and 3 bars that allow you to skip to the next/last podcast and maybe remove it from your list of favorites (can’t remember the last feature). The fact that the app isn’t always recognized as playing means that I can’t use my headphone shortcuts to play/pause like I normally do, and have to go in to open the app if I want to pause, which is super inconvenient when someone comes in to talk to you but you’re listening to a podcast and have to dig around to finally make the app pause and by that point you’ve either missed an indeterminate amount of podcast or you’ve missed half of what the person was saying to you. Overall this seems like something that an app developer whose primary focus is audio should be really on top of, and it is pretty poor development not to have this figured out in my opinion.
WOW
by Darbie+doo on 2019/04/27 05:00
I first got a iHeartRadio as a free app when I first got my mobile device. It was free it was fun and the music was good because I could listen to it anywhere. That was about three years ago, now so much of the free things have been replaced by paid services that if I want to change anything that I had set up three years ago I can’t do it unless I pay them their fees to change anything on my accounts. You really have to love progress. On top of that because my mobile device is constantly logged on it doesn’t recognize the passwords I set up before they changed their site so now when I go to login online to try and change things it doesn’t recognize me. It’s a blast trying to reset my passwords and prove I’m not a freaking robot, great job iHeartRadio. I think it’s pretty funny that I have to prove I’m not a robot to reset my password but they can send automated email responses to folks. I’ve had these kind of problems before and they’ll send a generated email that says hey look up these corresponding posts on the forums to see if they match your problems. It’s all fun and games until the autistic guy wants to talk to a person then everybody hides behind a computer screen, if you find this funny awesome, if you don’t, fix it. It’s just one guys opinion.
To download or Not to d/l ?
by cbry1188 on 2018/05/23 19:58
I was going to dl the iheartradio Free app & thought I would check out the reviews before doing so. I was quite intrigued by the various array of issues that people pointed out, so I kept reading... first few reviews, I saw the response to the Reviewer’s issues by iheartradio was that they wanted to resolve whatever issues they were having & to please contact (email) them, so they can further address the problem(s). I thought, “Wow, they really do want to make sure that the problem is resolved for that person & seem to be taking that extra step in doing so.” Then I kept reading....I would have to say that each & every review that I read, the response was always the same , “pls contact (email) us, so that we can look into this issue and help you resolve it. “ Then I realized, why wouldn’t they address the issue or at least write down a foot note to the review, addressing the outcome & HOW it was corrected!!! I decided NOT to dl the app at this time bc I’m not if all the issues written about were ADDRESSED & CORRECTED ?? It’s great that you guys address the concerns and ask people to contact you for help -but how about letting the rest of us reading the reviews know how things turned out? Were the issues corrected & MORE IMPORTANTLY, How??
Tricked into automatically enrolling.
by Buckeye chris on 2018/09/15 16:05
I’ll start by saying I love the IHeartRadio app. I’ve been using it for almost 10 years now. It’s great because I travel for work and when in my truck in areas where there’s no local stations I can still have music. Plus I love all the podcasts. For instance I listen to the Alan Cox show that’s airs in Cleveland Ohio. They have all the shows from the past year so even if I miss a day or two I can go back and listen. However yesterday when I opened the app I had a popup window asking me to subscribe to a monthly trial. I tried to close the window and it automatically enrolled me in monthly subscriptions. I’m amazed apps can even get away with this. You basically tricked me into getting the subscription. You took advantage of the in-app purchase and since I have touch ID enabled there’s no way to avoid it. Judging by the reviews and the post on the Apple forums this is happening to a lot of people. I was able to contact Apple and let them know what was going on and have the charges blocked. I shouldn’t have had to go through this process at all. I feel bad for all the people that aren’t going to realize it happened and be billed. If this happens again I will delete this app.
Deleted and never looking back

So done with the ads and the greed of iheart/Clear Channel. Ads are a priority and now it’s just a glitchy ad filled experience. The greed of iheart/clear channel is disgusting. PLEASE understand who iheart actually is. Understand their legacy. Iheart literally owns all the radio stations. They don’t HAVE to make you watch ads to make the app free! They do not have to charge you for an “ad free experience”. They already own the stations. They’ve already sold those advertisements. You are already listening to the ads. That’s why radio is free. There is NO ad free experience, period. They charge the advertisers for air time and they charge the listeners to listen to the ads. Then they try to guilt people into paying to listen by saying the ads keep the app free! They are getting paid on ALL ends and would love you to believe they are some small start up that just wants to help you access content. Iheart is a HUGE GREEDY CORPORATION that already owns ALL the radio stations. The amount of money they make through ALL the advertising they already sell on the air is completely unimaginable! GREED and way to much control! Shameful and terrifying!
Podcast playback could be better
by Arrowhead Chief on 2020/04/15 13:55
I recently jumped from apple’s podcast system to this to hear my favorite radio podcast John and Ken because iHeart stopped having the Friday show on the Apple podcast stream. A move to get you to the iHeart app. Well I’m here and the podcast features are not that robust. The per episode playback order always goes newest to oldest and you can’t turn it the other way around. For catching up you have to remember that or you end up hearing the show out of order which is annoying if you just let the run to the next episode. No sleep timer available which helps you not run into other shows if you fall asleep listening. I got through eight episodes that way in one night. The skip features could be better and should be configurable. Get the settings better and I’ll rate you higher. Radio play of live content is great. Sound is clear.
I really do like this app but it could be better with minor fixes
by #1 Steve #1 on 2020/07/11 15:33
I listen to this app all the time and I love the concept but there are minor things that should be done to make it better. I love the podcasts but It does not seem to be fully compatible with I phone. The 11 pro is the first I phone I’ve ever had and I heart restarts or shuts off and won’t start replaying if I make or receive a call. I have to go into the app and start it back up. I’m disappointed with the selection of songs by some popular artists. Rammstein is very well known and played on I heart stations across the country. I am subscribed to the plus feature that you pay to be able to listen to full albums or save songs to play in your own playlist. They have 2 Rammstein albums neither of which include their popular songs. They have tons of crap bands and music no one listens to but lacking in music that is classic. There is no other way to make suggestions than write a review or I would’ve just contacted someone there with my feedback.
Battery Hog
by fxdp "That name is tsken" on 2020/10/25 21:48
More stable than the older version but uses battery at a MUCH higher rate than the prior version on my iPhone X. I usually listen to the app 7-9 hrs per day and the battery was at 40%-55% at the end of the day. Now it’s 5% and the battery log shows it’s all iHeart Radio. I wish I could go back to the old version. (Similar issues using cell data while it’s connected to WiFi.) Since writing this review (previously 4 stars, since downgraded) the developer contacted me. They sent me the following “workarounds:” “ Could you try going into your settings on your phone and check under apps and notifications - iHeartRadio - useage to make sure iHeartRadio isn't excluded from power saving features.” Well, DUH!! And then this: “ For iPhone X users, please follow the steps below: Swipe from the bottom of the screen and hold your thumb on the screen until it shows all of your open apps. Hold down on the iHeartRadio app until you see a red minus symbol appear at the top left corner of the app Click the red minus symbol to exit and close the iHeartRadio app”. IMO, this is utterly unacceptable and an insulting ask. When I stop playing and/or close the app I expect it to STOP ALL FUNCTIONS without any further BS. It does not. The old version did and worked tolerably well. I should never have “updated” it. I have deleted it. Avoid this app.
A lot of Positive-A lot of negative
by GKDimples on 2019/12/02 21:12
Couldn’t be happier with content and stations. On the flip side, it will play the same ad over and over (consecutively) while there is a station break. Also, horrible experience with local employee. Two local stations, only, were not playing. I called in to local office and receptionist who you see to claim prizes answered and was horrific. Insisted it was not their office and problem was on my end and hung up. I called corporate who gave excellent customer service said the 2 stations I inquired about were in fact down. I called back the local station, to let her know what corporate said in case other people called in and she literally called me a liar. Hung up on me. I tried calling back numerous times and she literally would not say anything and would pick up phone and slam it down, during regular business hrs. Called corporate back in hopes my conversation with local was recorded. They were extremely friendly, and promised to address with mgmt but I never received a follow-up to their investigation, as requested.
American Top 40 with Casey Kasem!
by wxntrafficfan on 2018/08/14 18:38
Back when I had my car, I was paying $30/month for Sirius XM expressly for the purpose of listening to one Casey Kasem show each week. Someone on Facebook had suggested that I login to iHeartRadio and simply search “Casey Kasem”, and I found a channel that streams just American Top 40 shows from the 70s and 80s 24/7! Being only 25, I was never able to listen to his shows live, and Casey had passed just as I started getting into his shows in 2014. I had previously only kept iHeartRadio on my iPhone and iPad to be able to stream a station out of Grand Rapids, Michigan in November and December each year when they switch to Christmas music. Needless to say, I stream American Top 40 through iHeartRadio at least 1-2 hours a day, and often listen to it for extended periods while at work. Thank you iHeartRadio for making it possible for me to listen to an icon I didn’t get to know until it was too late.
Way too easy to accidentally subscribe
by brappleye3 on 2018/10/15 16:44
I haven't minded the iHeartRadio app and service and it generally works very well and it’s easy to use. However... I was listening to the radio while riding my bike recently, and pulled my phone out to change the station I was listening to, and somehow managed to accidentally subscribe to the “Plus” service while attempting to lock my phone after. Sorry, it shouldn’t be this easy to subscribe to your paid services, or if it is, it needs to be easier to reverse it immediately so I don’t have to live with a subscription/charges I don’t care to have. I didn’t bother to call Apple to have the charge removed since it seemed like a hassle hardly worth $6. I was able to discontinue the subscription in my Apple account so I won’t get recurring charges. It’s just frustrating that I managed to buy something I didn’t intend to. It should require a few steps to get to the purchase, especially for a recurring subscription! If it manages to happen again, you can bet I will stop using this app and find a different way to stream the stations I listen to.
Yay!

I’m so happy that free users can make playlists now! I was really tired of using the standard ‘my playlist’ for all my playlists. One thing I’d like is being able to pick your interests so the ads would actually help. Now that I think on it, I’d also like to be able to remove the ‘suggestions’ from a playlist. The suggestions have a tendency to play more than the actual songs, and they’re usually just songs you like, not songs that go with the ‘theme’ of the playlist. Although, the suggestions can be helpful. I’d also like the ability to only play the playlist and not the suggestions for free. I get that you need to make money to improve your app, but could you at least let us choose the song we want to listen to for free?? I’d also really like it if lyrics were available on more songs. All in all, good app.
What happened?

I am split down the middle on my rating. I have been using iHeartRadio app for years and it has been one of my most used apps(Rovers Morning Glory brought me here) and I never rarely had issues before. In fact, I would have probably given it 5 stars before. My favorite thing about this app was that it would pause where I left off on a podcast and I could resume it as soon as I opened the app again. This was very convenient. But now, since I had deleted the app and reinstalled it recently, it doesn’t do that anymore. I guess I re-downloaded the updated version? If I have the podcast going, and, say I watch a video on Facebook real quick, when I return back to what I was listening to on the iHeartRadio app, it starts the show completely over, and I’m stuck fast forwarding back through a 3 hour podcast to try and find where I was. It is really annoying and getting to the point where I really don’t even want to bother with the app any longer.
The app slows everything down and even stops internet connection
by Jesuslovesme4ever on 2018/09/18 08:09
I wanted to like IHeart Radio but every time, I download the app (which I have downloaded and re downloaded multiple times), it significantly slows my internet connection or even stops it. It also takes forever to load one song on the app and much can't be done on the app when a song is buffering. I even tried closing apps and deleting one or two apps and the app still slows everything down- a lot or even stops apps and the internet all together. Every time, I download the app, the internet stops working and as soon as I delete the app, everything on my phone works normally and fast again. I like that there is a decent selection to choose from (although it seems like Apple Music and Google Play have more variety in music) and the radio station selection is awesome. This app would be great if only the app didn't slow things down. I really wish this app worked. If only it were fast and didn't halt internet connection. I've never had these problems with any other music streaming app.
Glitchy and individual dj sets DO NOT receive compensation from IHeartRadio
by agitated eggplant on 2020/07/13 17:26
I love being able to listen to my favorite morning radio show, but this app makes it quite difficult. It’s constantly crashing for no reason. If I close the app it will stop playing and when I go back to the app it restarts the whole thing and then I have to search for my show again and scroll down to find the episode I was in the middle of streaming. I know the app works “better” if you pay for it but that’s not how apps should work. You shouldn’t make a glitchy app to force people into paying for basic quality. Also! The radio show I listen to has been VERY vocal about not receiving any kickback from the profits of this app. I know for a fact that the producer of the show I listen to puts a lot of time and effort into uploading the podcasted version of the show, including the separate break segments. They should be receiving compensation, because thousands of people definitely listen to the podcasted version, and it should reflect on their ratings and listener count. Shame on you IHeart Media.
App on repeat
by KyngEclipse on 2019/03/30 19:50
I do enjoy using the app every morning to get my daily dose of radio. However, lately it’s like the app has been on repeat. I know there’s a delay from the live radio broadcast, but why are the conversations starting over. In the middle of the conversations it goes silent for a few seconds and then the conversations start over from a certain point and it does this repeatedly for about 15-20 minutes. Sometimes it corrects itself but today it’s really gotten out of hand, I’ve missed over half of the live content because the first 30 seconds have been on constant repeat. It’s becoming annoying and makes me want to look towards other internet radio providers because it’s becoming too much to deal with now. *Update* Decided to come back and drop the rating due to the “help” that was offered from the developers. Why am I being asked for so much info that they should already have and also be asked to do this and that repeatedly when I already told the support team what was done to try and correct the issue. Dealing with support for this past week has been no help at all.
Unable to download podcasts for the last week
by 837394Hal on 2019/02/03 23:38
I love the app and I never leave a review on things. I’m reporting an issue. It was a little over a week ago. An update was sent out. Now I’m not able to download any podcasts. I’m forced to stream them only. It just keeps popping up with the message “unable to download” it repeatedly pops up ever couple seconds. I’ve checked to ensure I have given the app proper permissions. Please fix this issue. I get that I can’t download music or other things. Since I’m not a paying sub. As a free user I can only download podcasts. Which is good for me. I’ve always downloaded the Elvis Duran and the morning show. Along with three other Elvis Duran related shows. We really need the issue fixed, because it’s making me go over my data. I just got a text about being close to my 22.5 gig limit. I checked to see what is using my data. IHeartRadio has used 7 gigs in the last week. That’s because it’s fully loading the episode every single time I open up to listen. I will be forced to not use the app if this isn’t fixed. I will find something different. Love you all so please!!
iHeart Radio App for iPhone 7
by HnTresS on 2019/03/08 22:52
I have been listening to the music on this app for over a week now and I can't enough of it. They made it easy to navigate with great features. It works for me and I haven't experienced any problems as of yet. I think that this app is awesome and I usually don't write many reviews on things unless it's worth my time. Besides there is an app for everything now a days to sit there and rate them all when you download or use them would take a while, at least in my case. I recommend iHeart Radio for those of you who love music without tons of commercial breaks. Thanks iHeart Radio and keep up the good work. So far you have a really great thing going for you and I hope that it doesn't change to much over time with a bunch of pointless improvements or updates that aren't necessary to the users or listeners.
Love/Annoyed

I love iHeartRadio 99.9 KSAB the best tejano music choices especially those who live on boarders of Texas because all you hear is music from Mexico (for those who like that music is great ) although born and raise with tejano/conjunto prefer 99.9 KSAB station I can have your station on all day and all night but....I never hear any stories from our Texas musicians from our original State “Texas” all I hear is other musicians from other states or countries on how they started there music which I hardly hear their kind of music on your station and I get annoyed when the same story is on night after night so if you read this and knowing I am a big fan of iHeartRadio 99.9 from Robstown Texas please get this message to the station I want to hear how Intocable or Little Joe or Elida Reyna and so on and so on started as musicians ...supporting our local and getting to know our famous musicians that are rocking the USA as we speak ...thank you
Preffered over Pandora

I have used this app for about 3 years was pleased with the free version. I’ve seen it updated & pay for it to open up a few more features to find songs, some I can & some I can’t, but I pay the $5.99/month to repeat a single song once & some very limited song searching. I believed this app is good because I can mix genres of music & it’s intuitive enough to know when I need my gospel/Christian playlist vs. the other artists/songs that I’ve like in the past. It also offers suggestions & it doesn’t appear to be so commercialized, I repeat NOT a commercial distribution list of who you are forced to like. Some of my local/Independent artists have songs that I’m able to find. I’m thankful for that. I’m not an iTunes type of person. I hate I lost ALL of my music after switching from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 6s. It made my day to hear my own music that aren’t published on iTunes, so I’m glad to at least be able to search for the ones that I once had on here.
No respect, app is OK
by jeremy1069 on 2019/12/31 17:49
App is great but they have no respect for their listeners as far as radio stations go. None. Stations change format in the middle of the night, when listeners ask “Why” on Facebook or Twitter they’re deleted instantly. That’s how much respect iHeartradio has for their listeners. Zero. The radio stations get more generic and boring every year. The amount of time they spend playing commercials promoting this app could be literally used for something else more useful (Like real commercials that make real money or maybe a weather forecast) Beyond the bad radio stations, the app is pretty decent. Been using it since it came out around 2008 or so. Some of the other stations on this app are OK. Music streaming is nothing special. It has grown into a pretty decent Podcast platform in the last couple of years. There’s plenty to listen to. I do not believe they are “#1 for Podcasts” as they say on the radio over and over but I do believe they have a lot of them, which for people who listen to Podcasts (I rarely do) is a good thing.
Dupped
by HaloFan239 on 2019/06/04 09:19
The app was great a few years ago and is fun on the desktop service since I last used it. I was itching for more radio recently and decided to open up the app. As soon as I did I was prompted with a subscription payment from iHeartRadio. They wanted me to verify that I wanted to try their trial subscription. I barely had enough time to look at what was going on before I accidentally rested my finger on my scanner and the subscription was accepted. I was lucky to be able to reverse it, however if I want that free trial now I have to use it immediately or not at all. This is ridiculous. I should not be immediately prompted with a payment upon opening an app that I haven’t used in months. Is downright disrespectful and near predatory. There was also no warning. No pop up to show me that I was going to make a purchase, no redirection. Immediately loading into the app I was forced into a transaction. From what I’ve read of similar reviews this isn’t uncommon. The lack of respect I was shown is disgusting to me. Please be wary of this. I will try out this app some more but this is a really bad way to start off.
I love the content, but not the updates
by Sammich12 on 2017/12/17 22:34
I first got iHeartRadio on my old ipod on ios6 and I loved it. They had a setting where I could explore music or listen to mostly the same stuff. They did away with that and I miss it. Since then they’ve made the sleep timer harder to access, and everytime I open the app I’m baraged with an ad to try to upgrade to a paid version. I don’ mind seeing that maybe once a week, but I’m using other apps more because I get this annoying self add every time I open the app. It’s also harder to find the most recent radio stations I listen to. It keeps getting harder and harder with the new updates. Lastly, I love the play on start-up feature, but lately it doesn’t work (even when turned on in the settings) probably because of the ad I have to close out of. I’ve dug out my old ipod and I now mostly listen to iHeartRadio from that with whatever version ios6 can handle
Good but could be better
by RyanDred on 2017/11/16 01:15
Honestly, this app is better than pandora. However, my main two issues with it are the dislike feature and the song selections when you choose a specific band or artist. 1. Dislike feature: The problem with it is that if you click the dislike button on a song, that same song will keep coming back later until you’ve disliked it 3-4 times. Then after about a month it’ll come back again 2. Band/artist song selection: My major issues with this feature is that when you choose a band you want to listen to, the app will play almost anything but that band/artist. For example, if you choose fallout boy the app will play a fallout boy song once in every ten songs or so. Therefore what is the point in being able to select an artist. Now I’m not saying I don’t want to hear things outside of the band/artist I have chosen, however, it would be nice to hear the chosen band/artist at least every other song or so.
In A World Where Danger Is Everywhere...
by Pastorlarry on 2018/11/07 19:10
I was a subscriber to a popular satellite radio company who shall remain nameless. 🤔🤷‍♂️😂 Well, I found myself in between jobs and needing to find a way to stay caught up on what was going on in the worlds of sports, current world events, and the like. I had downloaded the iHeart Radio iPhone application a few years ago, but I never used it. Actually, I had forgotten about it due to the metal plate in my head negatively reacting to the use of my microwave when preparing my burritos. (My bowels would release and I would forget who I was for about an hour or so.) Anyway, I decided to utilize the application so as to experiment with and experience the full effects of the frequently promoted pleasure of said application. I must say that I was quite amazed at the vast and diverse selections at my fingertips! I am very thankful for the opportunity to listen to my favourite programs! I give this application 4 stars due to the excellence in which they approach this stubborn, never say die medium known as ”Radio.” Download it now and find out what you are missing! Also, if you too have a metal plate in your head, your reception will increase by at least 80%! iHeart radio and unlimited data...it is like heaven on earth, it is like Ireland without the pipe bombs. It is 🎯💯 GOLD!
Used to work better
by OriginalDino on 2017/11/28 19:57
Before the last update, iHeartRadio would resume the last station I was listening to when it connected with my car’s bluetooth. After the previous update, I started having to hit the channel down button on my steering wheel to get it to start playing. Fine, whatever. But since the last update even that no longer works; I have to open the app and manually tap the specific station I want. Every. Single. Time. Also, since the last update, every time I start the station, I get a 30-second video ad. Uh, a VIDEO ad, on iHeart RADIO? Seems a bit self-defeating, especially since many of the video ads have no audio indication of what they are advertising. So I’ve just learned to turn the audio down to zero when first starting, until the word ADVERTISEMENT goes away from my radio display. I tried iHeartAuto once, thinking to would be better suited to what I wanted, but that app was completely hopeless.
Great App - Playback Needs Work
by Willy0909 on 2021/05/12 18:41
Great app to be able to listen to any genre of music or listen to talk radio from anywhere in the world. Playback at times (and becoming more and more frequent) will repeat the same portion of a segment (no skip or scratch when it happens, so kudos for that) and will have to listen to the same portion of what was being said. Not certain if this is a buffering issue, but seems to only happen during talk radio programs. One pesky issue, when receiving a call, inadvertently stopping a talk radio show, commercials/ads will run again before getting back into the same station/program. Should be a way for the program to see that you have not left the station in order jump right back into the program, otherwise you miss a portion of the program that at times is vital to understanding the conversation.
Probably the worst app
by Allroad.357 on 2021/11/08 15:39
If you like the developers hand in your pants this is the app for you. If you love glitchy performance this app is for you. If you love advertising this is absolutely your app. This app is always tracking you regardless of your privacy settings. Any notification that pops up resets the program you are listening to and starts the advertisement all over again. It is also not advertising from the program you are listening to which is relevant to me it is whatever crap iHeart wants you to hear over and over and over again. I have used this app for years because it is the only way to hear the program I want to listen to in my area. IHeart has been getting worse and worse for years and now it is intolerable. Absolute garbage. Oh and it randomly picks and starts playing random stations for you. Stuff I would never select for any reason. Now this crap always pops up in my feed. Garbage. Oh and don’t bother trying to report to iHeart, that feature is broken too. This app is crap.
Disregard my stars, this app is Crap!
by 450 Honda on 2021/05/09 02:32
This app has turned into a peace of Shiiiit! They just started running adds non stop! I mean you have to work at it to get the adds to stop playing by pausing the app and then sometimes it will go to the station you want, if your lucky you then will get another commercial that is only 30 seconds long, then after messing and listening to commercials for 15-20 minutes, you will get to listen to more legitimate commercials from the station you were trying to listen to, then when you station is actually playing, out of nowhere the app will go back into endless and I mean endless commercials and you have to mess with it nonstop and go through the same cycle again to get to the station you wanted to hear, what a holy piece of MF crap!
I do love the radio options
by Cherie Fairy on 2018/08/09 06:06
Although there are a few things I feel that could be better. I feel like skipping songs shouldn’t be an exclusive thing only paid membership people can do an unlimited amount of times, cause on the radio station that is titled my name’s favorites, a lot of stuff is mixed in there that I don’t actually listen to. And also, despite giving them the thumbs down, they reappear again. What’s the point of giving that song a thumbs down if it’s just going to show up again? I know I’m nitpicky, but these are things I feel that could make the experience better for the users that can not afford a membership or a subscription. Cause right now I cannot work and I wanna listen to music how I want to...and that’s skipping over stuff I don’t like to get to what I do like.
Don’t waste your money
by Lilmama88888888 on 2018/02/06 14:59
This app isn’t even worth downloading the free version, definitely don’t throw your money away for the paid version. 30% of the time I can’t get anything to load on here. When I actually can get it to work, it takes about 3 minutes to load. It rarely remembers where I left off on the podcasts. For example, right now, when it started up, after 3 minutes of waiting, it started playing a podcast I had already listened to. I kept trying to go to the Podcast I had already listened to about half of. The circle around the play button would go around and around for about 4 minutes and then it would go back to the previous podcast. After about 8 tried and wasting 20 minutes, it finally played the one I wanted, but started back over at the beginning, I had to spend another 5 minutes figuring out where I left off. There are so many other places to listen to music and podcasts, go elsewhere, unless you like constantly wasting 20 minutes of your day waiting for things to load.
Loving “Classic American Top 40!!”
by Koffeeklick on 2020/03/08 18:46
Ever this app, its horrible! Now we need to login with facebook? Why?! And before while listening to iheart, if a song came on i really liked, id open shazam to capture it and share. But now, once i open shazam, the music on iheart completely stops, preventing me from capturing it. Shazam has been more than helpful, saying it has to do with the iheartradio app. But when i contacted iheartradio about my problem and joked if i can downgrade to the older version which worked perfectly, the only response i got was " no downgrade available". Thats it. No solution or anything.I emailed them again on 10/28, no response. Tried again a bit ago. Cant we go back to the old version, everyone hates this new update!!
Used to be great.
by Poloar caps on 2019/11/13 19:36
I’ve been having problems with the app as of recently. Radio stations work great but when listening to podcast, that’s where the problems start. First the playback order, I prefer to listen from old to newer ones just in case of two part episodes. Second after each episode I have to reopen the app to play the next episode since the app shuts down after ending an episode. And last the ads, it’s understandable why ads are needed but when you hear the same 30 second ad for 3 minutes straight and then again for another 1 or 2 when another episode starts. It gets really annoying. I have contacted them and got the general response of thanks for bringing it to their attention. This has been going on for almost 2 months. So now I’m stuck listening to out of order stories not understanding what is going on. Also the discontinuation of the watch app. It was better than using the native play to control the stations being played.
Lousy App with Inconsistent Content
by ChiTownDave on 2019/06/04 20:07
They keep making this app worse! Now the app has to be restarted nearly every time I stop pause a channel. I can't help but wonder if they release updates as frequently as they do so that their app has more stars than it should. How about adding an option to nag screen of "Never" and making the default start screen "My Stations." Even trying to launch from the widget does not work as the app keeps forgetting my recent stations. I'd give it ZERO stars if I could. They took a buggy app that crashes, and introduced startup/channel change advertisements that delay getting to the program. It seems like every update makes this app perform worse. The newest version of app will just stop playing at the top and top and/or bottom of the hour. Further, the app once again fails to resume following a phone call. The widget also fails to play the station. Further, the app keeps forgetting recently played stations! More important is that channels like WLS are running commercials when the show has resumed for over-the-air listeners (that's assuming the stream is working at all). Further, app stops playing content for no apparent reason even while connected to WiFi. When tested against iheartradio on the computer (using same connection) the stream is playing on the computer, so the problem is with the app. Luckily, the content I enjoy is not limited to Clear Channel stations. Clear Channel should hire competent developers.
Podcast Problems
by Sad/Angry @ Bump on 2020/03/13 03:46
This app is fine for listening to the radio but the podcasts are totally inferior to other podcasting apps. The ridiculous advertising of it being the #1 app for podcasting is infuriating. #1 because they force you to use their app for the content they offer. If you could listen to their podcasts on a different app plenty of people would. The most frustrating problem is that it frequently cannot remember where you left off. This is totally unacceptable for a podcast app. I absolutely miss when I could listen to my podcasts using the Podcast app on my iPhone - a drastically better product. I just went to use it again and it told me I was selected for a survey which I was looking forward to filling out. Of course clicking on it just took me to a website that said the survey was closed. That about sums up the quality of what this company is putting out (and then advertising is fantastic).
What’s the problem with this app?
by ChadleyTN on 2021/06/27 05:02
I pay monthly for this app but it feezes on the home page when you first open it and then freezes while playing my music. If this isn’t repaired by 7/4, I’m going to Pandora. When I’m paying for something, I expect it to work. This app works a little more than half the time. Also, Russel whitney, Jesus nor the New Testament mentions homosexuality unless you read something into a particular verse. Many professional historians are sure that John the Baptist was homosexual. Do you think Jesus cared one iota about that. ABSOLUTELY NOT! You need to ask yourself something before you spew hatred and discontent: What Would Jesus Do? He would never write the crap you do online or anywhere else. Judging is one of the worst sins listed in the Bible. Let God hash all that out and in the meantime, mind your own business and get counseling for yourself.
iHeart Radio Dark Mode
by Gringa tozuda on 2020/12/10 07:31
As we’re currently on Christmas Mode of the iHeart Radio App, where you have that specific look that makes it look like that it’s on Dark Mode, even though it currently doesn’t have a Dark Mode Option, for when it’s not Christmas at the time, it would be nice to even add a Dark Mode Option on here to help some of us out with who doesn’t like using Light Mode at night nor in Dark Rooms, etc., as Light Mode can blind some of us out with that Whiteness in there & Dark Mode would help those of us out a whole lot, as a huge overlooked favor. So, maybe in the next Update of the iHeart Radio App, add a Dark Mode Option in there perhaps & maybe add a Device Theme as well to have it automatically switch between Light & Dark Modes depending on the Light/Dark Mode Option in Settings on the Mobile Devices that support the Light/Dark Mode Option. 🤔

So annoying

MAKE IT STOP

by Minnesota Bobbi on 2022/01/17 20:49
Loved and used this app daily on my iPhone until today when it stopped in midstream, went black and stopped and I can’t get it started. I use it mostly to listen to local radio stations when traveling or unable to access programming I want. Wish I could figure out a remedy

IHeartRadio
by wordscrapes rule in the game on 2022/01/07 05:30
i did remember rating the app before and the app itself replied to me but yet couldn't find it which was unfortunate.
Keep it up!

But yo I’m not getting raped by y’all. .. I’ll deal

Plays radio stations…
by robert.cantrell on 2021/12/14 14:51
Love the opener every time I open the app “ads help keep iHeart radio free” only to load on to a radio station playing ads that owns and operates iHeart radio. LOL!!!
The app is awesome
by pro bass singer on 2021/12/14 07:02
The singer was on the Christmas station is horrific out of tune and has a bad singing voice the app itself is fenominal

Yay!
by Foxmoon9❤️ on 2021/09/02 22:03
I’m so happy that free users can make playlists now!
What happened?
by Krdurb on 2020/03/09 16:04
I am split down the middle on my rating.
