Description
RadarScope is a specialized display utility for weather enthusiasts and meteorologists that allows you view NEXRAD Level 3 and Super-Resolution radar data along with Tornado, Severe Thunderstorm, Flash Flood and Special Marine Warnings, and predicted storm tracks issued by the U.S. National Weather Service. It can display the latest reflectivity, velocity, dual-polarization, and other products from any NEXRAD or TDWR radar site in the United States, Guam, Puerto Rico, Korea, and Okinawa, as well as data from Environment Canada and Australian Bureau of Meteorology radars. These aren't smoothed images, this is native radar data rendered in its original radial format for a high level of detail. Whether you are scanning reflectivity for a mesocyclone's tell-tale hook echo, trying to pinpoint the landfall of a hurricane's eye wall, or looking for small features like velocity couplets in the storm relative radial velocity product, RadarScope gives you the power to view true radial weather radar data. RadarScope displays tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, and special marine warnings issued by the U.S. National Weather Service. You can browse the list of active warnings, select a warning to view the details, and even zoom to the selected warning on the map. Pinch or stretch to zoom in and out. Drag your finger around the map to scroll. Tap the radar sweep button in the toolbar to switch radars. Select one of the 289 different radars in the United States, Canada, Australia, Korea, Puerto Rico, Guam, or Okinawa. Plot your current location by tapping the location button and optionally report it to the Spotter Network. Tap the play button to download and animate over recent images. Display the names of over 25,000 cities and towns on the map as you zoom and scroll. Tap and hold the color legend to see the data values. Meanwhile, RadarScope will retrieve and display updated data automatically and intelligently (approximately every 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the radar scan strategy). You can display radar data from our servers, NOAA's public access web site, or your Allison House subscriber account. Spotter Network members can report their location and view the locations of other spotters. radarscope pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription with two different tiers to choose from. radarscope pro Tier One is an annual subscription that provides access to real-time lightning data in the U.S. and Canada that animates along with the radar loop and up to 30 frames of radar data, including extended loops of super-resolution data. Tier One subscribers can also access a data interrogation tool to quickly determine data values for specific radar pixels and an optional dual-pane mode for viewing two radar products side-by-side. radarscope pro Tier Two is an annual or monthly subscription that combines all the features in Tier One with more advanced features, including SPC outlooks, local storm reports, hail size and probability contours, and azimuthal shear contours in the U.S., a 30-day archive of all radar products, and the ability to use subscription features across multiple platforms. If you choose to buy the radarscope pro subscription, it will charged to your iTunes account. The subscription will be auto-renewed within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price you originally paid. Subscriptions may be managed and auto-renewal disabled via your iTunes Account Settings after the purchase. Once purchased, the subscription cannot be cancelled during the active subscription period. Pro Options Lacking
by iPhone Duke on 2019/10/11 05:28
I’m paying $100/yr for the pro tier two and can’t even get an option to change the freaking radar playback speed? Seriously? Though honestly it should probably be a standard option like many other radar apps. Even the desktop version of RadarScope has had this for ages. What’s taking so long? I’ll update this review back to five stars once we get this option we should’ve had years ago. I hate how slow it is playing back 30 frames on Pro. Also the Apple Watch app needs an overhaul. I use it all the time and it’s buggy and slow, even on new hardware and fast internet.
Been using for 6+ years
by lukewl on 2019/10/10 18:43
Love this app and all of the continuation of updates and features. The only added feature I wish that would be added would be the option to see where a watch area has been issued. Maybe a faded overlay with different colors for the types of watch. The only feature I would like to see in the future!
Good app!
by Max Decool on 2019/10/07 07:45
I enjoy this app a lot but recently KATX is not giving me anything to look at and it’s been like that for a little more than a week now. Please fix this radar soon as you can!!
Horrible Pricing
by Rg3xwees on 2019/10/01 23:57
I payed 10$ just to download the app to find out everything is is hidden behind a subscription wall. What was to point of paying the 10$ to download if your toning to hit me with subscriptions. #highwayrobery maybe think about charging less for the app so people will get the subscriptions
Apple says it "works great" on watchOS...
by phrz on 2019/09/30 19:43
Apple advertises this app as a great example of a standalone app on the new watchOS, whose main feature is standalone apps, but the app falls flat without the iPhone app to set favorite locations, which is not adequate UX for a $10 app. The same issue occurs on tvOS, where it's even less understandable given the broad screen real estate and built in text entry APIs. Worst, the interface these other hampered-functionality apps reference on the iPhone version is basically impossible to find.

Best of the best
by Gimpelson96 on 2019/09/10 00:22
Great app, not for beginners as you need to have more than a basic knowledge of how to read and interpret radar on the map. Once you are able to understand you will discover how much this app has to offer. I have the base app without a subscription and that is good enough for me. Radar updates very quickly. Kansas City was nearly slammed with an EF4 tornado in May of this year (2019) and RadarScope displayed accurate velocity to pinpoint where the mile wide tornado was located. I was able to monitor the debris field as well using correlation coefficient. This app is strictly radar and is best used with other apps such as The Weather Channel for forecasts. This is my go to radar app. Fantastic. The only change I would make would be a more detailed map.
Best Weather Radar App
by Asphalt-man on 2019/09/08 03:02
There’s a reason you see so many pros including NOAA using Radsrscope in their tweets, it’s simply the best. It’s technical so if you don’t need that it’s not worth the cost beyond the free, but if you rely on radar, it doesn’t get any better than this app. Remember all radar sources are the same, its each app that takes that data and deciphers it, well RadarScope hits a home run.

Must-have tool
by lihan161051 on 2019/08/29 02:12
This app packs more info into a screen than any other I’ve used, including the NWS radar pages. I recommend Pro Tier 1 for the lightning strike layer, it’s one of the best ways to spot active convection there is. That and the storm tracks are my two favorite features. I would like some way to filter the warnings by region, though. Without that, the count of warnings isn’t very helpful to me. Filtering by region and type would make that feature much more useful.
Needs Improvement...
by AW Bugs on 2019/08/28 04:05
This app needs 2 major features that most radar apps already include: #1 Hybrid Satellite Map - Display sat image and road network. Currently the “map” consists only of a black background with state/county border lines and major hwys. It’s 2019! #2 National Radar Combined - Display all radars rather than isolating a single site. While it may be faster to load, it can be confusing when trying to view radar in a certain location only to realize the area you’re viewing is not included in the active radar site range. These 2 items should at least be options, which could be turned on/off rather than omitting them altogether.
Best for Chasing
by upssnowman on 2019/08/28 03:45
Used it a long time for storm chasing just simply the best there is
Best radar app around.
by Homiej23 on 2019/08/22 20:45
This radar app has features found on no other radar apps. From velocity to correlation coefficient to echo tops, it has tools that allow people who have a decent knowledge on how to understand radar to accurately analyze storms. Only issues I have is storm relative velocity is very low resolution compared to the base velocity and the lack of the road networks.
Fantastic!
by Toristorii on 2019/08/21 23:53
I help run a helicopter touring company and we use RadarScope exclusively when we’re watching the radar closely during the summer thunderstorm season. I have no complaints at all! It’s a great app!

If you are not a true radar expert- don’t purchase this as most likely you will not be able to use it to your satisfaction. I myself am satisfied with the purchase as I always read the reviews and know what I am purchasing. I strongly recommend something much more simple for the people that just want to see the local weather. The app developers should be more forthcoming on the use. I truly understand the different displays and i use the terms daily and honestly believe I got my money worth . I am rating it low as I really don’t believe it’s anything beneficial to the average person.
A very good app but needs better map definition
by DaSchnuz on 2019/08/13 01:16
I was PRO level 1 for a few years before upgrading to PRO level 2. This is the best weather app on the market!! There is only one hitch, lack of road support.. You would think you could see where the bad weather was located, NOOO, you just get a generalization!!! So you could actually drive into a dangerous storm, because the map is that general. I would’ve thought with PRO level 2, it would’ve had a better map. Apparently you don’t have the ability to provide a Top Tier weather app, with a top tier road map!!! Get off your keister and fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fantastic, except for Apple Watch version
by sasha_nola on 2019/08/12 00:42
The iPad version of RadarScope is unsurpassed for this weather geek; haven’t seen anything better. However the Apple Watch app version is very disappointing. I have removed it. It does not know what it wants to be. I need an untethered Watch radar app to use when out on a run, walking the dog, or on a ride. Although it is intended to work while untethered, with my usage and Verizon etc, it loads a radar image less than 10% of the time I try to use it untethered. 90% of the time it loads nothing or occasionally returns a “failure to to connect to parent app” error. I have gotten caught in downbursts that I could have avoided if the app would have shown me local radar and/or lightning when I needed the info. In addition, I do not need to see, on my tiny watch screen, the myriad different products available from my local radar station (KLIX); that is what my iPad/phone version is for. Finally, I do not find the watch app to be useful in tethered mode either; I inevitably would rather have a look at the radar on my phone instead. Please redesign the watch app to be reliable in untethered mode even if it means losing many of the specialist radar products.
Could be more personal to your location.
by JordanRil on 2019/08/10 21:27
It would be helpful for alerts to be for your specific location only, not the entire United States.
Perfect for a pilot!
by Carrington Woods on 2019/08/04 15:51
I am young student pilot! As we know, pilot’s flying in the air must know about the weather and the atmospheric conditions just as well as meteorologists on the ground. Though I may be a lot more into weather than other Pilot’s I know, it is still important to know about storm intensities, cell movement, etc. I am only 19 and my understanding of meteorology is average compared to professionals, but with the help of this app, my knowledge has and will continue to grow very quickly! I’ve downloaded many apps in the past and was disappointed by the apps and their small capabilities. I love the work, dedication and time the developers of RadarScope put into this app. Definitely worth the money! I will tell my fellow pilots about it!
Not happy

If you want to know where the storm is and traveling at what speed and your precise location get this. Also this has become my go to radar when I travel Would like to see a compass incorporated in the screen
Great app for Skywarn
by UC+pilot on 2019/07/28 23:37
I use this app while doing Skywarn weather tracking because it has all the tools you need in one package. Wish it was CarPlay compatible, but a great app otherwise. If you want local high resolution detail of what a storm is doing, this app gets you there. If you want to see what the overall national map looks like, go to the NWS website or get an different app to work alongside this one. The Pro levels give you added goodies like lightning tracking and other handy tools in the tool box. Well worth it...🌪🚗
Good but...
by Respectfully on 2019/07/27 23:24
Edit - Problem resolved. Thank you! Edit - Currently on RadarScope,KBOX is displaying data which is 11.5 hrs. old. However, two other radar apps are displaying current KBOX scans. Radar Scope continues to provide its users with an ever expanding array of weather data. However, the increase in time it takes to generate each new volume scan comes at a cost. Over the years, the lag time between what you see on your phone and what you observe out your window has noticeably increased. Today the skies opened up and delivered a torrential downpour while RadarScope displayed six or more minutes of clear sky before eventually catching up and showing the storm move over the area.
Perfect!

$9.99 and then they want more!
by Billbuck88 on 2019/07/22 22:24
Pay up front and then they want a subscription for basics that other apps include for a one time fee. Only reason I got it was for the Apple Watch ability. Total waste of money..
Better apps for less money
by royal088 on 2019/07/21 23:21
You should listen to the negative reviews. This app is too narrow in scope of what a decent radar should show you. I don’t get to see the entire nation in one image only individual sites. Useless! Who wants to see only 6 frames of one radar site.

We live in NE Iowa in a small town I was hit by 3 squalls this year it’s so weird! Anyway this helps me see winds (using Velocity) and it’s better than the weather app Storm Track 7! A NE Iowa weather app! I like the classic radar type not to much though!

Perfect — Except
by JSchnee21 on 2019/07/18 15:45
I really wish there was an option to merge the radar feeds from multiple stations to provide a regional radar overview. As is, I need to use other apps to get this representation. You would not need to support all of the radar products, nor refresh the feed as often. But I just want to easily see the larger radar storm picture to the West of my home (into the next state or two) Currently, this means browsing the feeds of 3 or 4 different stations and then forming a mental picture in my minds eye (-: Or using a different App )-:
This has been a wonderful app.
by stanw55 on 2019/07/18 04:09
No complaints until about a week ago when the radar data stopped being displayed. Now I’m looking for a replacement.

by Rh800 on 2019/07/13 19:04

Great Weather App For All!!
by Jax is my dog on 2019/07/05 21:16
Unless your a Non Smart person this is a great app for anyone and everyone!! I am in school and learning all about weather and I’m very interested in everything about storms and tornados and such.... it’s great for this! It’s great for almost everything! All the haters are people that got it and saw all the features and didn’t even decide to try and understand what al the radars are, I got this app about 2 months ago and it’s helped me seeing all the dangers in my area and like if I can go to the beach or not. Before I used this I was using NOAA and it was extremely slow and didn’t update very fast, this updates constantly and is precise. Worth the money for sure!
I’ve learned a lot
by Sluchow on 2019/07/03 22:57
I got this during Hurricane Harvey while I was stuck inside for about a week. I started learning about how to identify storm structures, and now my wife and kids and coworkers have to hear me prattle on about weather. They’ve started staying away. It’s worth the paywall’s cost just for that. Five stars.
Great Mobile Radar
by eraseradarhead. on 2019/07/01 08:28
I haven’t gotten any of the subscriptions to this as I haven’t to Gibson Ridge. There’s no doubt that Gibson Ridge is the superior program to this program. But Gibson Ridge isn’t available in a mobile device. So if you want to have good radar on your iPad, or your iPhone, or your android, or whatever, you’re out of luck. No wait, maybe you’re not... you’ve got this. And despite what people may have said a subscription to any of the services it provides is not necessary. Thank goodness, because it should be a standalone program in the same way that Gibson ridge is, and it is, and It is a very good one.

Best radar period
by petenbama on 2019/06/23 11:59
I think I have tried literally every free weather radar app over the years. Living in tornado and hurricane prone area finally decided to pay up for a really serious weather app. Money well spent. There are some excellent YouTube instructional videos on how to properly interpret the different radar options. I really like how quickly the radar image updates during stormy weather. One thing I wish the app would add in the future is the option to add layer for bodies of water such as smallish lakes etc.
Love it

Very good
by Savagebacon92 on 2019/06/19 22:11
This is a very good app! In order to get your moneys worth for this app, I would recommend learning what to look for in the different radar images. You need to understand what the different filters show, and how they show them. Once you get that down, you will hopefully enjoy this app as much as I am! This app is great for storm chasers and weather spotters (I am one myself) because it updates very quickly and It is very accurate! It also allows for you to link your spotter network account (if you have one) to post your location, see the locations of other spotters, and post reports! I personally would like the tier 2, but it is very pricey, and I would not need it. I do not have the tier 1, but I can see myself getting it eventually. I don’t really see a huge need to buy any tiers yet, as the app is great by itself. Don’t buy the tiers unless you understand the extra information that you will be looking at, otherwise you are wasting money. Overall this is the PERFECT app as long as you understand the radar filters and tools.

Not for your average weather enthusiast
by PD#453 on 2019/06/17 13:39
Five stars because you’re not going to find anything better. Most people wanting to track the weather are not going to be able to figure out how to use this app. It’s not for those folks. Stick with your news channel weather app. You need to have a little more than a basic understanding of weather and at least some understanding of basic level atmospheric sciences to be able to use this app to its full potential. The features of RadarScope are unmatched. I can watch broad rotation turn to tight rotation then pull up the correlation coefficient view and see what is happening. See where the hail and high winds are down to almost street level. With a little learning you will be able to watch storm movement and know exactly where the danger is or may be approaching. Can’t beat the price for the service you’re getting.

The Best
by Mike Neuby on 2019/06/11 13:21
RadarScope is hands down the best weather radar out there. It gives you a level of detail not matched by other competitors. One of my wish lists for radar scope is for it to be a native app on the Tesla’s main display. As of today, Tesla has opened up its API to third parley developers to creat third party apps for its main screen. Having RadarScope on that beautiful center display would be simply unbeatable.
A live look at weather data
by cstephensondotco on 2019/06/10 19:18
I'm a novice user, learning about the different readings coming from the radar, but even with currently only understanding percipitation and velocity, this app is a million times better than any other radar app because the data is live. During a storm, it doesn't help much to see radar data that is ten to thirty minutes old unless you're looking at tracking info. I'm a map geek, and I love data, both likely important to why I love this app. Also, this app only provides data. I believe it's some of the same data that helps meteorologists forecast weather, but the app doesn't forecast. So if you only want to know what the weather will be like later today or tomorrow, I doubt this app is for you.
Minimal features for $10
by Benyyboyy on 2019/06/09 18:20
Not worth it if just buying the app. They’re more annual and monthly subscriptions in the app that has access to more features. If I could get my money back for returning an app I would.
Don’t listen to the 1 and 2 star reviews. Please read
by ChrisW2364 on 2019/06/09 02:59
First off, the people who are giving 1 stars probably don’t have a clue what they are looking at, the issues most people have on here are not radarscope’s fault, if your not even remotely into weather it can prove more difficult to interpret. That’s not radarscopes fault it’s the fault of the user. Radars are tools used by professionals, amateurs and ordinary people, the radar doesn’t lie on what it sees. If a radar isn’t updating it’s possible the NWS location (which is where the ap gets the data from) has issues, that’s not the apps fault. Sure the ap isn’t perfect but it’s hands down, it’s the best radar available on a phone or iPad. No other can even scratch the surface of what radarscope provides. For weather nerds is worth every dime. Easily able to add other data to get even more out of the radar.
Update please!!!
by maverick279 on 2019/06/08 16:55
Excellent app but it has to improve on the map, have options on the color since it is always black.🤦‍♂️ You could have a white one as an option and use a more detailed map like the google ones. I hope you can help with my suggestion. Thanks!!!
Real Time Precise Information
by Cirquerider on 2019/06/06 00:15
I purchased this app in 2009 had it has been my go-to for critical weather information on the motorcycle and boat. When you’re exposed to the elements you need to know precise information of whether to go through the storm or seek shelter. radarscope has never failed to give me the information I need to evaluate my risks, and the speed direction, intensity and hail of a system. No other program I am aware of gives this real-time detail. This is not the national weather or what will happen tomorrow, but if you need precise location, speed, intensity and direction right now, RadarScope delivers.
Love it!!
by HottieYanni on 2019/06/05 01:51
This app is by far THE BEST weather app if you know how to read radar imagery! I seriously open this app (watch, iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro) whenever I have any questions about the weather. It’s saved me more times than I can count, and was an EXCELLENT resource during Hurricane Irma! Love you guys!

Like I stated in the caption this app is meant for more like professional and experienced storm spotters and storm chasers that know how to read it now with that being said I don’t know how to use this particular radar 100% I bought it because I liked a lot of the features I like how it has a measuring tool for how far away you are from the storm it’s got a future track to show where it’s going it breaks down the storm it’s very quick on giving you the latest radar image I do believe it’s every two or three minutes There’s a lot of different radar layers You can check and look at like the wind speed velocity and you can check the moisture And it shows how much moisture is putting out you can look at different tils Or however you spell that and If you have poor data you can Change it to make it a little more pixelated but does it use much data to give you the current readings I like the fact that you can have a Cone that shows what direction you’re facing and what direction you’re heading I do enjoy it I’ve always wanted to be into weather and just watch the storms But I have a lot to learn So if you’re willing to give it a try and you’re not scared to spend $9 To try it out and once you pay for it it’s paid for so you want to buy that again but there are pro versions one and two that are pretty much like subscriptions annual monthly gives a lot more to work with and do You can see and do a lot more See you were the storm chasers and spotters are A bunch of extra stuff that’s definitely helpful I am just using the app itself after paying nine dollars so like I said I like it I just got a used to it and understand it THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE I would REALLY LIKE to see a option to get notifications Via Phone when there’s severe weather or a slight or moderate or Enhanced RISK for the next day or today or thunderstorm warnings lightning strike tornado warnings They have that in the app and it shows you every warning they have out in the United States pretty much but I can’t seem to get notifications for my favorite locations that I have saved or if I have location on if I’m near that area it should automatically say hey there’s bad weather in your area Without me having to open the app and like check it and I understand this might be because of the professional status of this so you’re constantly looking at radar but it would be something nice to see if this is an option I have not found it But you do get notifications on the app itself of every single weather related warning and watch and everything in between it’s almost like a silent notification you just don’t get on your notifications screen on your phone And I guess the only thing I can think of And again this is probably just me not knowing what the hell I’m doing but I having a little bit I was smoother radar imagery it’s a little pixelated which kind of bothers me because I’m so used to the other apps that have HD or smooth radars Options or layers and again this is a professional raw radar I would just like to see A option to have a smoother for the non-pro user just buying the app itself I will update this if I find and understand some things a little better but this is definitely an app that I would use if I was getting into Meteorology and I was going to school for it I would totally use this and I’m sure once I get used to using it I’ll be able to understand it a little bit more but like I said it’s worth it definitely Very Good tool to have
Amazing app
by no tornadoes please on 2019/05/29 22:38
I really, really like this app. Great for severe weather. However, this is not for someone who is looking for an average radar app. If you don’t know what base velocity is, you probably shouldn’t get this app. Definite 5 stars.
Fantastic app! But,
by Pilot life on 2019/05/29 19:00
This app is absolutely amazing for tracking storms! I love the option where users can submit weather reports. However, the option to report rain is absolutely ridiculous. We do not need to know if a severe storm has rain. It clutters the radar
Best radar app for the weather enthusiast and t-storm junkie
by CS Guy on 2019/05/29 16:08
First there are clearly too many radar apps on the App Store that are really more about weather conditions and forecasts. And there are far too many similarities between them, with only one or two that are reasonable. And, THIS IS NOT ONE ON THEM! I you want an app that can delve into NexRad Level 2 and Level 3 radar feeds, including velocities and other important images needed for those who pay attention to storms and early indicators of severity and rotation, THIS IS YOUR RADAR APP!! Look no further! I hesitated for a while now because of the $10 price tag. But, fearing lately with some recent tornado watches and warnings near my home, I made the purchase. My only regret is not getting this sooner. It is that good. But, understand - this is a bit more advanced than your typical weather app. This app focuses on doing one thing - presenting you with comprehensive access to the latest NOAA radar images in hi-res. It’s not a simple weather forecasting app. Plenty of options exist if that’s all you want. The negative reviews are mostly because of people not understanding what they are getting. This is really good. Oh, and it has seamless integration with my Apple Watch, my Apple TV and my iPad. I’ve tested it out on all those, and it worked great. Just keep in mind that you need to set your favorite locations on your iPhone or iPad. Excellent app! Thank you! I may even pay for the service to get lightning and other extras, but the base app is quite good by itself.
Fantastic app
by Wonder girl1 on 2019/05/29 04:12
I absolutely love this app. It takes some time and study to get proficient at recognizing different aspects of storms but after all the weather is a complicated thing. Read the radarscope blogs and NWS articles on doppler radar, doesn't take long and you will be amazed how well you can detect everything just like you see on the weather channel radar images. It is well worth the effort to learn how to interpret the radar images, just work at it a little and you will love it and realize what a great app this is, especially if you live in a storm prone area or just interested in the weather.
Amazing app for an amazing price!!
by clintcash35 on 2019/05/25 22:09
This app is awesome and helps me track storms. It is a meteorologist app, a app you don’t need expensive tools for and the most accurate and present radar I have ever used!
Want to keep your family safe? Get this app
by Chicago Shane 007 on 2019/05/23 06:56
This is the best app for weather or storm chasing or to keep you informed to keep your family safe. I’m not a professional by no means I see people say it’s for professionals only not true you only need common sense and a little time to get familiar with it and you will be more then pleased with the comfort of knowing what’s in the future for your location and if you had to get away fast it wouldn’t be into the mouth of the storm . you will see your path to safety in the palm of your hand.
Had this App for years!! Love it.
by Eddie28480 on 2019/05/19 04:22
Love this app used it for many years. Tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms you name it this app has never failed me its my go to App when storms are near.

by Legobones on 2019/05/17 22:33
Spotter Network has changed Stormtrack and I can’t login my account on RadarScope witch is stupid to a lot of us who just made a account to Stormtrack so they can use it on RadarScope but will I hope you people at RadarScope try to fix it so we can login to your Stormtrack account aka use to be spotter Network so do something about it so WE CAN LOGIN AND USE IT
Sorry I bought it
by D_Snow on 2019/05/17 22:23
Looks at one one radar at a time! The is really pushing you go from one-time $10 app to the $100+/year or more add-ons
I expected better
by Jbbuibfvjsijbsif on 2019/05/17 14:35
The app hasn’t been able to poll data from rad sites for two weeks. I sent an email asking about the issue, and still haven’t heard back. When it worked it was pretty good for regional work.
This is a Professional App
by Monkeybutt203 on 2019/05/15 00:29
I agree with another user, this app is fantastic, don’t read too much into a poor review as it’s the user, not this great app. I have turned so many people onto this, as they see me using mine, they all ask how to get it.. If someone balks at the price, I just say you get what you pay for, there is no free app anywhere of this quality.. Thank you to the creators of this app, it’s a must have on your phone!!!!
I love it
by robotfool228 on 2019/05/13 02:38
When I bought the app, I was definitely not the target audience. I couldn’t really identify storm structures in person, let alone on radar. After getting this app and learning a ton more, it is one of the best radars out there. Yeah, there is a pretty big paywall, but you already get loads and loads of data for free. As I have learned about and experience weather more and more, I’ve really shifted from the mindset of asking why people would pay for all of the features to being able to see why there’s a paywall. The one thing that I dislike is that there isn’t any traditional map of roads, as well as certain cities that don’t show up entirely. Even if more cities showed up as I zoom in, that would be completely fine. It just gets somewhat frustrating when a friend tells me that he is near a cell in a certain city, there are dozens of warnings out, and I have to first find the city on a map before going to the warning this friend is referring to. Overall, the app is still phenomenal. It’s easy to use, provides loads of data, and is decently priced.
In app purchases
by TECHsan Raider on 2019/05/11 11:01
Its already expensive for a weather application. But the reviews on here said it’s great and worth the money. Only to my surprise that to even use more than 10% of the features you need to ALSO purchase a subscription. I would like to request a refund. Don’t buy unless you plan on spending twice as much to get a subscription as well. Not worth the money without the subscription.
The weather channel for free gives more information
by Rex in Houston on 2019/05/10 03:39
It’s not like the $9.99 is unaffordable... it’s that after you pay it and get on the site you find out you have to pay extra for features such as showing lightning strikes and it’s in real time so I guess you pay more if you want to see forecasting. The weather channel app shows lightning radar and future tracking. I don’t know what’s the professional see in this but for the novice who wants to know what’s happening when and for how long it will happen run from this one and go with the free weather channel app.

ABSOLUTELY the Best !!
by JohnE00 on 2019/05/09 16:18
I've tried all radar apps, and this one is without a doubt the best. Clearly shows precipitation, by intensity and direction. Sharp, clear images. Not just for professionals, but for anyone who wants the most accurate and easy to read weather radar. Well worth the money. I’d pay even more; so hope the developers don’t read this.
State highways
by Surveyor2 on 2019/05/06 00:51
This app is great except for the layer which show cities and highways. Extremely lacking in this area, barely shows any state highways much less county roadways!
Frickin awesome
by USMCDR on 2019/05/05 09:02
MY ONLY DESIRE IS THE ABILITY TO INCREASE THE 30 FRAME DISPLAY SPEED If you actually know anything about weather, and can read more than just a surface precip rader, this is the bee knees. Not for Joe six-pack. This is a professional app.
Simply the Best
by DeeCee00 on 2019/05/04 14:13
As an insurance claim adjuster, weather is my business. I can find no other app, free, paid, or subscription that comes close to the information this app provides. The free version is plenty for most casual observers. I subscribe to the $10/yr plan and it provides all I need. Hail? It’s so accurate, I can watch in real time as hail falls and as it moves. When I run a hail map from another service the next day to see where hail fell, it conforms the app’s real-time hail fall from the time of the storm in the exact same places, down the the foot— and it even shows the exact size of the hail. Lightning? It’s so accurate, as soon as I see the flash of lightning outside, the icon shows up in my circled location within the app— accurate down to the foot. There’s simply no other app that confirms hail, wind, and lightning as well as this one does. It’s real radar, deciphered so anyone can read it, with real-time wind, hail, & lightning data... and it doesn’t cost a fortune.
Great App! Couple suggestions...
by Kewltune on 2019/05/03 20:31
I love this app and have been using this at least 4 to 5 years now. The Pro membership is great. I have two requests for the developer: 1) Each time the app is updated from the App Store, the map move back to default location. Can you make the app remember last location and zoom level after each app update? 2) Add an option to drop multiple “pin’ markers with label on the map. I would like to mark several areas on the map like home, work, and etc and will remember these even after app is restarted or updated from App Store. Thank you!
Awesome
by NE Pastor on 2019/05/01 17:09
This is the best app for radar. The ability to locate your current position and nearest radar site is fantastic. Just one recommendation, it would be nice to have your current location GPS coordinates also displayed.
Uses (accurate) raw data from radar sites
by nimrawd.dot on 2019/04/30 22:45
This app displays data from individual radar sites, so the radius is limited to the actual radius of the actual radar. If you want a mosaic (combined images) then get an app that does that. They're free because they're less accurate. Research how radar actually works and you'll understand that they're naturally less accurate the further out they send their beams. Mosaics smooth and blend the edges, removing accuracy. They are essentially cartoon versions of the weather. I use one from my local weather station because it certainly serves a purpose, but when accuracy matters (99% of the time) then I use this app. Combined I'm aware of and prepared for the weather. There has been many, many times that I've had Radarscope open while watching the local station during severe weather and received updates in regards to warnings and increases or decreases in severity before the weather man indicates the changes on TV. I believe in keeping myself and my family safe by taking matters into my own hands, and this app makes that possible. If you just want to sit on your hands until you hear a siren that's your own perogative, and if you're content with an inaccurate mosaic image it is as well, but if you want to keep a close eye on the weather to keep your tools dry, your crew safe, and your family prepared, $9.99 a year is a no-brainer. This is the only app I've spent money on, and I've never regretted it. Educate yourself on what each mode indicates and you'll not regret it either.
Awesome app!
by weatherguyforever on 2019/04/30 22:42
Great app! Love how detailed it is radar wise. Keep up the good work! One suggestion, I would love it if the road network was more detailed as you zoom in. But no big deal. Still an awesome app to use! Six stars!!

My team uses this app to help us fallow along with potential life threatening storms and we help read curtain emergency alerts to help get the word out there to every one we know. Then if we find that a disaster has happened that needs help from a certified outside organization we then step in and offer our assistance. We use this app to helps us plan in advance in a situation that is very hard to plan for. Thank you from Texas Louisiana Coalition Ps now almost off of our disaster friends has now downloaded this app. Might I suggest making one tweet. Make it so when you click on a warning the words change a different color so we know which warnings we’ve already read. Something bold and easy to tell apart like orange to blue

My Goto App for Severe Weather...
by hsdajr on 2019/04/24 19:35
I have been using this app for many years. I have used this app on my iPhone to avoid many a storm while traveling. I have no idea if this is possible (i.e. allowed by Apple) but I would Love to see this work on CarPlay! My 2018 Mustang has a large touch-panel display and it would be much easier (and safer) to view the weather radar on my 8” Display than my iPhone in a cradle!
Fails to Update
by MariAnnelise on 2019/04/23 12:55
I love this app, but the radar just will not update no matter what I do, and it’s the worst when storms are in the area. I realize WiFi connectivity impacts this to some degree, but I’ve been connected constantly for days and have been unable to see a current radar for quite a while.
Perfect.

Best weather app for weather geeks, hands down
by iammarty on 2019/04/20 23:47
Note - NOT for checking your daily weather to decide if to bring an umbrella today. This great app is for anyone who takes the time and effort to study the data local radars produce. If you do not care about weather data then seriously consider this review.

I believe this is the best radar app that a intermediate to expert weather radar that you can get. Because I am a part time storm chaser this app has helped me to hunt down tornados and avoid the hail core. This is definitely worth the price and i wound get the pro version if your a storm chaser. DON’T believe the negative reviews there just kids that don’t know how to function and real radar.

Best radar
by hstnnn on 2018/03/25 19:16
The other reviewers are right-- this is the best radar and well worth the cost. I had purchased several others and put off this one because of the price. The other apps disappointed-- they have been inaccurate or slow to update. This one is precise and quick--so far is has never been more than a minute or two before it updates and most often it is up to the moment. And the accuracy has been brilliant. It has many features that I have not yet used, but i hope to learn them soon. I'm a weather novice, but I definitely want to know where the storms are, where they're going, and how much rain we'll get. This is the best radar by far! Update: the developer keeps refining an already brilliant application. This is THE radar application, far superior to any other out there. Absolutely one of the best purchases I've ever made for my iOS devices—beautiful on the iPad, crucial app on the phone, and a very informative glance at the radar on the watch. I bought the upgraded pro version and like the additional features: longer loops and lightening info. As with the basic version of this app, the cost is there but well worth it: this radar and all the features are the some of the best things on my phone. One of the top apps of any kind and one I will subscribe to without hesitation every year.

Very Good App... Paying Extra Though
by DarkL3egendx on 2019/03/16 12:40
This app is amazing, it shows all you need at first. But my only problem is with the $10 just to get it you have to pay an extra $10 annually for the first pro tier, and $15 a month or $100 annually for the second pro tier. With the first tier you get the dual window feature as well as a lightning indicator, the second tier gives you all of what the first one does but as well as local updates and a whole lot more. I think for the $10 price tag you should get a lot of these features, or instead of subscription to just let you buy the actual tiers instead of having subscriptions. I just think with the prices that it makes it kind of unfair to people during bad seasons if they need local updates.
Junk

Do you like a national map that allows you to be able to locate local and long range storms? Do you like having high definition map overlays that allow you to locate exactly where the action is happening and heading? Do you want to have a weather app that is easy to navigate? Unfortunately this app fails on everything. What it does do well is charge 10 dollars to download the basic functions. If your disappointed by the basic application and interested and or already invested in the initial 10 dollars the next 10 dollars to get tier 1 access seems like an appropriate next step. Once you get yourself into the 20 dollar range of access you realize that it still is terrible and the next option to get the holy grail of weather apps is the PRO tier 2. It's only 100 dollars in addition to the 10 dollar app download fee. Also anytime you download the application regardless of level... your also agreeing to a contract that automatically deducts money from your account on a yearly basis. This weather application is the best...for it's investors.
Perfect in Almost Every Way
by A320Freak on 2018/09/03 17:51
I bought this app long ago, back before the 2013 Moore EF-5. It has served me so well since then. And new features keep getting added, making this app basically a portable AWIPS workstation, minus WarnGen. There’s one thing that I’d love to see added, though, and that’s the ability to set our own storm motion vectors and have velocity products calibrated to that. For people who use RadarScope for chasing, that would make it so much easier. Other than that, this app does wonders for storm chasers who are looking for quick and easy access to site specific radar products. Oh, and the app will snap to the closest radar if you enable location. Even without custom SRV, this app gets five stars for its simplicity to use and the tools that can be had with the subscriptions.
Don’t believe the haters
by BhamBrian on 2018/07/31 04:50
I have to laugh when I read a negative review comparing RadarScope to Weather Channel or any TV or national app. If you understand anything at all about radar products beyond “green is good, red is bad”, this app is for you. If you understand SR velocity, this app is for you. My 15yo daughter loves this app as well, tracking significant storms around the country and asking me about the precipitation and velocity products, comparing what we see with media reports in the aftermath. It’s amazing to her how we can predict how bad the damage is from what we see on radar. Ever since her grandmother was killed in a tornado a few years ago, while we watched the radar signature from miles away, she’s been a disciple. Thank you again WDT for the best weather app available. It’s well worth the investment.
Does as advertised
by 1stimpact on 2019/04/09 19:57
No complaints on my end. This is for advanced users and for anyone complaining about what the app does or doesn’t do, aren’t experienced enough to appreciate this on the fly system. If you’re complaining that it doesn’t show a nationwide map to view entire systems you’re not using the app for its intended purpose. When chasing or spotting this app will allow you to focus on an area of concern without a spliced image of the radar. It’ll also allow you to input addresses has the tools necessary to spot a storm quickly and efficiently. The only issue I’ve had isn’t something that I can blame on the app as much as I can my service provider is refresh time. Otherwise this app is money well spent for people who use phones and tablets while spotting/chasing.
If you are able to understand the different radar types then buy it! I love it!
by Meteorologistq1 on 2018/10/18 13:22
I’ve been using this app since March, because a fellow friend of mine, who is also a meteorologist recommended this app to me. I’m in love with this app. I don’t believe that you need to pay anymore than what you need to. The price it asks for is the price it really is. You don’t need to pay extra for pro stages if you don’t want those stages. You have access to every nexRad radar. You can see a variety of things I didn’t know was there. There is Velocity (rotation), reflectivity (normal radar), correlation coefficient (shows any non-meteorological debris), etc. I love it. I have payed for any of the pro tiers, and I don’t plan too. Even without lightning, I am able to tell if it has a lot of lightning in it.
Worth the buy & tier 1!
by WeatherGuy99 on 2018/10/15 03:07
If you’re a huge fan of the weather, especially when it comes to looking at the radar, this app is heaven for you! I recently upgraded to tier 1 for dual-pane radar, lightning, and inspector tools, and I outta say it’s been well worth it! A request to RadarScope, You probably won’t see this but could you add the town of Alto, Michigan if possible to the map? It makes for a great middle town between Grand Rapids, Clarksville, Lowell, and Caledonia Michigan. I also request this because the town has seen some nasty weather over the years and there’s been no proof to pinpoint the town on radar... just had to take a guess on it’s location. On top of that, there are quite a few residents in the town. It’s no ordinary one street pass-through. Thanks otherwise!
Best what is happening now weather app

If you want to know what’s happening right now with the best graphics, this is the best app. I would also use in with conjunction with Dark Sky. Dark Sky is great for what will happen in the future but the colors for DS aren’t the best. This app has been invaluable to me knowing exactly where the clouds are and where they’re going. Once I was traveling without a coat and it was raining REALLY hard. I noticed on here the severe storm only had a little more to go and then would be clear after. I ducked in for dinner and I knew I was good. You don’t need the extra super duper upgrades but I upgraded to the first tier since it’s fun to see the lightning. It is also nice that it shows the severe weather warnings and outlines exactly where the warning is for.
RadarScope Review
by Mister Solitude on 2019/01/30 00:49
This app is perfect. It will show you everything you need to know. Just going to say that this app is for those who know how to use Doppler Radar, and for those who know a little about it, it should be easy. The Velocity mode for this app is awesome. I sometimes wonder if they are going to add smoothing for the Reflectivity. Something that would be very nice and useful to this app is reviewing old radar data from a certain date. Let’s say you want to see the Moore, OK tornado from 2013. You can set the date and time, and bam, you’ve got that wonderful Radar Signature in front of your eyes that you can study. It may not be possible, but that is my only request. Getting that out of the way, for tracking tornadoes and storms, this is the app.
Good but...
by Respectfully on 2019/07/27 23:24
Edit - Problem resolved.
Crap
by M1i9c75 on 2018/05/15 17:52
One review stated “this app is for professionals” yet it proclaims to be an effective tool for even the novice weather enthusiast. But that’s not my complaint so I digress.... my issue is I just bought this app an hour or so ago and have been looking at the app while watching the weather channel and the storms/tornado warnings in PA. The app is giving utterly and completely different information than the weather channel. The app has the tornado box/warning, several hundred miles north of what the weather channel is reporting. There are also warnings in several other places in the north east as per the tv, yet they’re absent from the app. I guess for “professionals” it’s groovy to stare at a screen with a bunch of colors, a few yellow and red boxes that are seemingly hundreds of miles away from what the actual professionals (meteorologists) are displaying... but I guess, what do they know anyway?
Very good
by Savagebacon92 on 2019/06/19 22:11
This is a very good app!
Great even for non pro’s..
by Hydropower0229 on 2018/12/29 15:14
I use fairly regularly since finding a few weeks ago.. Exactly what I was looking for to track storms here in Montana. Allows me to plan for road conditions and prepare for storms. Few drawbacks.. Needs better instruction for novice users who want to learn. The video walkthrough offered is useless. Also, like every other app, for the extra features u need to... Yup, pay extra. This is a paid app, yet they want more $ at every step along the way. I paid $10.. The infrastructure was/is there. Not like RadarScope is building radar stations and funding using the $ from app. Greed ruins everything. Unfortunately, u feel it here too.
The MUST HAVE Advanced Radar App
by Tuck0089 on 2018/10/01 19:09
While this may be above the heads of the general public, if you’re a knowledgeable weather enthusiast, student, professional - this is THE MUST HAVE radar app. I would be lost without RadarScope. It has a very simple interface and every radar product you could imagine. I use this app when I go storm chasing and have full confidence in its performance while in the field. Additionally, creating loops and screenshots for media could not be easier. I really cannot speak more highly about this app. Price is $10, but I would happily pay $100 for a product like this.
Hands down-The Best Radar App
by Mr. Luigi on 2018/07/18 15:20
Real radar for those who need high quality radar maps. My absolute favorite weather app and totally worth the cost. One request...the map overlay (roads, etc.) is too sparse. The weather situation can be quite different just a couple miles away (severe thunderstorm, snow-rain line, etc.). But, the nearest displayed road on the map is many miles away making it real hard to pinpoint where "the weather is." It would be AWESOME if the developers would add functionality such that as you zoom in on the map the level of detail of roads increases.
Great app but needs an improvement
by Qwusay on 2019/03/04 16:26
Great app but needs an improvement. I live in a fringe rural area (tornado ally) between three radar locations. I really like that the selected radar is more timely updated than the rest, but because of the fringe area it would be a tremendous help to be able to select the three surrounding radars with one as primary (most current time update) and the other two as secondary. Being able to view all three overlayed radar images on one view would give a composition view of incoming threats.
Nice app if you can figure out the features
by G_ChipT on 2018/06/25 02:59
The app seems to be feature rich but my problem is the “User Guide”. It is hardly a guide. For example there are a series of icons across the bottom, one of which is allows you to identify where you currently are on the map. Well if you hit this a second time a small angular wedge appears and it slowly rotates around. There is nothing that I can find that tells us what this feature is doing for us. I can find nothing that describes the other icons on the base of the display. The other support detail is thin too. Sorry to say I need a bit more before I can pay for a Pro account much less the highest level Pro account.
Disappointed
by Sorry Charlie 2 bad on 2017/09/12 23:42
I just purchased this app for $9.99 and I must say I'm VERY disappointed. First of all it allows you to pick a radar site in a state and when you do it's just for that area that the radar reaches out to. I bought it wanting to see Hurricane Irma in its whole size since it was a huge hurricane and I was only able to see a part of the hurricane! It doesn't allow for a full screen of the actual hurricane. You also can't zoom all the way out thinking if you do you'll get to see the size of the hurricane. It ONLY shows what's in that specific radar zone and that's it! I will use my other radar app NOOAA Hi-Def radar Pro to see the whole size of the next hurricane and zoom out or in to see the whole hurricane and not just be limited to an area like this app. DO NO WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS APP!
Well worth the money!
by Switz1157 on 2018/06/09 23:55
I was a longtime user Weather Underground’s Storm app. After it was taken over by the Weather Channel it became just another useless radar. I searched trough all the free apps to find a similar replacement and could not. It was then that I took the plunge into paying for Radar Scope. Once I used it, I knew that I was home. This app is by far superior to any other weather radar app available on iOS! For a reasonable annual upgrade fee it gets even better. High res reflectivity, velocity and so much more is available in virtual real time
Professional grade radar and storm tracking! 💯
by NateDawg1123 on 2018/08/31 01:50
This is the de facto standard app for radar and storm tracking data. Ask any storm chaser. Yes it costs money, but is so worth the cost for the features you get. I subscribe to the Level 2 data and it is perfect for my needs. High resolution reflectivity and lightning data is great to have. Refresh rates are nice and disable auto lock is handy when a huge storm is passing over. Forget the haters, probably people that don’t really understand what they are getting. This app is the real deal! 👍🏻
Well worth it...🌪🚗
Great Weather Radar App—Worth Every Penny
by steve oc on 2018/07/03 21:50
RadarScope is an absolutely amazing weather radar app. The SuperRes Reflectivity view gives amazing detail. Location Services make it easy to pinpoint exactly where you are so you can use the radar animation to determine what is coming your way in the next hour or the next few minutes. Storm tracks and the distance tool help you figure out the timing. There are over 25 different radar views showing wind velocity, precipitation, and more. I look forward to learning how to interpret these advance radar views. There has been much consternation about the new Pro subscription. The introduction of this never took away the 6 frame SuperRes Reflectivity view. It just offers the option add 14 more frames to the view and gives real time lightning reporting. I went for it, but you have an amazing tool without it. This app is worth every penny.
Best. Radar. App. Hands Down!
by Pepsifan1976 on 2019/02/27 01:17
This is THE best radar app that there is. It is just a beautiful app. The radar is raw data. For those complaining you can’t see the whole US or the entire hurricane, then you don’t understand this app. I love how you can see where a tornado is by using the different radar options. That’s if you know how to use it. If you want a basic radar app, this isn’t for you! If you want a professional radar app with raw data, then don’t think twice!
BEST RADAR APP PERIOD!!
by Worm56 on 2018/01/21 22:19
This app is for meteorologists, storm chasers, storm spotters or anyone who is weather saavy. It upsets me when anyone rates this app bad when they don't know how to use it. This app is everything you want in radar and more. If you know weather data it can cost as much as $20 to $30 dollars monthly for hi resolution, this app is unbelievable. Hi res reflectivity, hi res velocity, tilt and beam height, shows your position on the maps. Warnings and advisories. Compatible with Spotternetwork and Allisonhouse. If you are a spotter or chaser this is a must!!
Amazing App
by Mr_rich11 on 2017/09/17 14:22
Obviously this is NOT for your causal weather viewer. This is a extremely powerful app for users that know something about how weather works. If you want to know if it's going to rain next week, go use some other free app. If you want to know exactly down to the minute how the storm is acting and developing and your interested in investing a little time into learning what the different radar products mean, this is the app for you. Absolutely awesome!
One of the best products out there!
by AaronMason47 on 2019/04/14 01:48
I’ve been using this for a couple years now, and I have a Pro Tier One subscription. Easily the best $10 a year I spend, as it provides me with several different products to keep me on top of unfolding weather events, with an easy to understand user interface. I also have the same product for Windows, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Trusted by storm chasers, trusted by me, and should be trusted by you.
Without a doubt, the best radar app out there.
by MattSandy34 on 2019/04/08 11:24
A warning to anyone downloading this app: this is for weather nerds only. If you download this app, keep in mind that it doesn’t stitch radars or sugarcoat the info, it’s the raw data from the radar. But, for weather nerds and meteorologists, it’s the best radar app out there. You can use it on-air, and you can easily track storms with your own data. I love this app so much, I actually bought their t-shirt.
I am a disaster volunteer and this app saves my @**
by jcims4ever on 2019/04/30 20:03
My team uses this app to help us fallow along with potential life threatening storms and we help read curtain emergency alerts to help get the word out there to every one we know.
Best radar app
by LibertyMedic on 2018/06/24 21:12
This is my go to radar for almost 5 years. Used in storm chasing, and all the tools were well worth the cost to keep us near enough to see action but far enough away from danger. This radar does not have a national screen, that's not how Doppler works. If you want the basics, use something else. If you want to see how a storm is rotating or where the updraft and downdraft is located in a supercell, this is your app.
Best Radar App in the Market Today
by Ganso97 on 2017/10/05 23:49
Radarscope is by far the best radar app in the App Store it anywhere else on the internet. Every single radar product the weather service or TV meteorologists can see are all on this app. Every radar in the US, Canada, Australia, Guam, Alaska, Hawaii, and South Korea is on here. Don’t let the $9.99 price throw you off. Once you try it, you will see it is worth far more than the price tag.

The only problem l really have with this app is that you can’t zoom into locations close enough to get an exact location

Lost in the update

Wow, this update stinks. Took away most of the features and lost resolution. Are you making us pay $100 per year for what I had before? Really?

Perfect!

Thank goodness, because it should be a standalone program in the same way that Gibson ridge is, and it is, and It is a very good one.

by petenbama on 2019/06/23 11:59
I think I have tried literally every free weather radar app over the years.

Waste.
by Zpgggggrrww on 2019/06/17 18:27

I love it

by Jacob4444 on 2019/06/11 16:51

The Best
by Mike Neuby on 2019/06/11 13:21
RadarScope is hands down the best weather radar out there.
THIS APP IS FOR MORE EXPERIENCED PEOPLE
by shadowbandit91(youtube) on 2019/06/01 10:18
Like I stated in the caption this app is meant for more like professional and experienced storm spotters and storm chasers that know how to read it now with that being said I don’t know how to use this particular radar 100% I bought it because I liked a lot of the features I like how it has a measuring tool for how far away you are from the storm it’s got a future track to show where it’s going it breaks down the storm it’s very quick on giving you the latest radar image I do believe it’s every two or three minutes There’s a lot of different radar layers You can check and look at like the wind speed velocity and you can check the moisture And it shows how much moisture is putting out you can look at different tils Or however you spell that and If you have poor data you can Change it to make it a little more pixelated but does it use much data to give you the current readings I like the fact that you can have a Cone that shows what direction you’re facing and what direction you’re heading I do enjoy it I’ve always wanted to be into weather and just watch the storms But I have a lot to learn So if you’re willing to give it a try and you’re not scared to spend $9 To try it out and once you pay for it it’s paid for so you want to buy that again but there are pro versions one and two that are pretty much like subscriptions annual monthly gives a lot more to work with and do You can see and do a lot more See you were the storm chasers and spotters are A bunch of extra stuff that’s definitely helpful I am just using the app itself after paying nine dollars so like I said I like it I just got a used to it and understand it THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO SEE I would REALLY LIKE to see a option to get notifications Via Phone when there’s severe weather or a slight or moderate or Enhanced RISK for the next day or today or thunderstorm warnings lightning strike tornado warnings They have that in the app and it shows you every warning they have out in the United States pretty much but I can’t seem to get notifications for my favorite locations that I have saved or if I have location on if I’m near that area it should automatically say hey there’s bad weather in your area Without me having to open the app and like check it and I understand this might be because of the professional status of this so you’re constantly looking at radar but it would be something nice to see if this is an option I have not found it But you do get notifications on the app itself of every single weather related warning and watch and everything in between it’s almost like a silent notification you just don’t get on your notifications screen on your phone And I guess the only thing I can think of And again this is probably just me not knowing what the hell I’m doing but I having a little bit I was smoother radar imagery it’s a little pixelated which kind of bothers me because I’m so used to the other apps that have HD or smooth radars Options or layers and again this is a professional raw radar I would just like to see A option to have a smoother for the non-pro user just buying the app itself I will update this if I find and understand some things a little better but this is definitely an app that I would use if I was getting into Meteorology and I was going to school for it I would totally use this and I’m sure once I get used to using it I’ll be able to understand it a little bit more but like I said it’s worth it definitely Very Good tool to have
Amazing app
by no tornadoes please on 2019/05/29 22:38
I really, really like this app.

This is the best app for weather or storm chasing or to keep you informed to keep your family safe. I’m not a professional by no means I see people say it’s for professionals only not true you only need common sense and a little time to get familiar with it and you will be more then pleased with the comfort of knowing what’s in the future for your location and if you had to get away fast it wouldn’t be into the mouth of the storm . you will see your path to safety in the palm of your hand.

by Monkeybutt203 on 2019/05/15 00:29
I agree with another user, this app is fantastic, don’t read too much into a poor review as it’s the user, not this great app.

Thank you!
Awesome

Six stars!!

Perfect.

Note - NOT for checking your daily weather to decide if to bring an umbrella today. This great app is for anyone who takes the time and effort to study the data local radars produce. If you do not care about weather data then seriously consider this review.

Best radar
by hstnnn on 2018/03/25 19:16
The other reviewers are right-- this is the best radar and well worth the cost.

Best what is happening now weather app
by SageBeach on 2017/11/04 20:46
If you want to know what’s happening right now with the best graphics, this is the best app.
I will tell my fellow pilots about it!

by M1i9c75 on 2018/05/15 17:52
One review stated “this app is for professionals” yet it proclaims to be an effective tool for even the novice weather enthusiast.
Very good
by Savagebacon92 on 2019/06/19 22:11
This is a very good app!
Great even for non pro’s..

Unfortunately, u feel it here too.

by Cirquerider on 2019/06/06 00:15
I purchased this app in 2009 had it has been my go-to for critical weather information on the motorcycle and boat.
Well worth it...🌪🚗
Great Weather Radar App—Worth Every Penny
by steve oc on 2018/07/03 21:50
RadarScope is an absolutely amazing weather radar app.
