I really like to look into a restaurant before I walk in. I carefully read the reviews before deciding to step in. I also use the yelp app for small business.

Terrible
by Patsy Hilligoss on 2020/05/26 04:01
We order a $75.00 in food. We ordered the fried shrimp which was over cooked it was almost burnt. Orange Chicken was hard , Sweet & Sour Pork was hard over cooked same with the sesame beef it was like everything we ordered was cooked 3 or 4 days before and they just kept warming it up day after day. I was never so disappointed in my life. Panda is 100 times better. I will order from them again. I should of taken it all back, I just didn’t want to deal with it. I’ve bought food from them a couple other times and it was pretty good.
Constant huge updates
by ACMatthews on 2020/05/26 01:56
I am thinking about dumping this app. It eats up your huge amounts of your data download allowance Once a week. It isn’t the only one that does, but the updates are always huge. Maybe get it right SBD THEN post an update. That would be an Internet first.

RiverBend Restaurant in Texas
by spring valley paula on 2020/05/25 23:58
This was the best restaurant I’ve been to in years. I’m from Southern California and there is the great cod fish place near the border of TJ Mexico called Barrett Junction. By far RiverBend was better both in the food And the atmosphere!!! If I ever return to this area I will be there with money in hand.

Absolutely horrible
by jsd41 on 2020/05/25 23:49
Do not order from here! We ordered delivery of chicken parm and it was hard as a rock including the pasta. Called and let them know it was overcooked and not edible. Delivered 2nd replacement meal in less than ten minutes. Same thing....disgusting!

Yelp is the worst. I don’t see how this company didn’t go bankrupt a long time ago. Their info is ALWAYS wrong
Perry, IA’s George the Handyman
by girlinthemiddle on 2020/05/25 23:26
This guy came to my business explaining that he was a handyman who could do about anything. I needed some furniture moved and we arranged a time. My friend met them in Perry and Geirge and his employee loaded some furniture. When they arrived there was a hydabed to remove. They were scuffing it and I mentioned it. I was told I said it wasn’t any good anymore anyway. I told him he better treat the new one better than that. He was unaware that the backs came off. So the backs were removed. When my friend was putting them back together he showed me where there was a scuff /tear on the foot rest. The part is $60. Labor $180 and a trip charge. Text message sent to George and ask if he had insurance. No response. No more need for George.
Positano’s
by tiny timmie on 2020/05/25 23:11
Horrible service. No people in restaurant. Called ahead by one hour. Staff standing doing nothing. Our pizza not cooked. Staff smarted off when asked what a scheduled pickup time meant to them. Did not start cooking pizza until 10 after scheduled pickup, while standing around. Amazing poor service anytime, but in particular after the economy being in tatters. Totally disrespectful

Not a fan
by sassafrillyass on 2020/05/25 18:34
Zero stars for this intrusive app. It invites nay sayers to unload garbage in small businesses especially. In these times we need to support mom and pop shops. Clearly there will be an occasional bad day, would this nay sayers want the entire world to have access to a bad day in their life? Likely not. Entitled city people have wreaked havoc on some of our small town businesses. I’m embarrassed that people have gotten so mean.

by proffoody on 2020/05/25 17:23
I picked up a dinner from Marcello’s Restaurant yesterday and it was absolutely delicious! It was 2 fresh chicken cutlets with crabmeat in a blush sauce baked with mozzarella on top of spaghetti. That sauce was soooo good! Couldn’t wait to eat the leftovers today!
How can you not Yelp
by Sherlock10851 on 2020/05/25 16:55
Always adding helpful tools like “minority owned” and “female owned” badges
Very over rated
by Very Unfortunated on 2020/05/25 16:54
In my opinion these are cheaply built. I can hear every step they take above me, the parking garage is a joke. The doors are always broke, things get stolen, they give parking tickets if you are over the line and people are always letting their friends in the garage. The halls are not climate controlled so they are cold in the winter and miserable in the summer. NOT WORTH THE PRICE!
Good vegi burger
by steveziv on 2020/05/25 16:17
Great vegi burger. Takes awhile for order. So we always call ahead. But sometomes they do no pick up phone. Regular fries is very large. Enough for 2.

Grubhub hurts business
by ethper on 2020/05/25 15:52
Yelp hurts restraints by using grubhub. If you’re on the app and it says you can order from grubhub, don’t, they’ll nickel and dime the restaurant owner. Also make sure you dont call the restaurant’s grubhub number but actual number. Grubhub charges the restaurant even if you are just call to see in they’re open.
Adorable Stars Maine Coon Breeder Orlando FL
by littleChartieboy on 2020/05/25 15:48
We wanted a Maine Coon kitten & found Adorable Stars on line. Connecting with them was rather difficult but perhaps because of Covid. The breeder is located in a beautiful home and The kittens were brought to us in an office of the home. As soon as we saw them, we fell in love. The little orange male picked us as his expressive eyes and little face sought us out. I will say that the man who brought us in to the home was not very friendly and my husband and I felt rather uncomfortable. The lady who brought newborns in for us to see & hold was a delight. She spoke very little English but communicated her love of the kittens through her smile & loving spirit. She made us feel the way we expected to feel. We asked questions about the breed and were very disappointed in the mans seemingly disinterest. Perhaps because he gave very short answers. Our kitten was four months old at the time of adoption and when we took him to our Vet we We were told that the our kitten was due his second set of shots & should have received them before our $1800 adoption fee. That was an additional $150 for us. Our Vet also told us that our kitten had a considerable amount of fleas and we had another charge for his treatment. The breeder brought in for us to see a Scottish Fold that was beautiful and it became apparent that the main interest of the gentleman was the Folds. The experience there was saved by the lady’s outgoing personality and the adorable kittens, most especially the kitten who picked us! As for our kitten, Charlie is the most loving, snuggling, gentle little soul I’ve ever known. He fills us with unbelievable joy every day. We are totally in love with him. We communicate with Zac from Stars and send updates of Charlie’s growth. Our texts with Zac are wonderful. We asked for pics of Charlie’s parents & he sent them. Overall, we could not be happier. We feel we were indeed blessed with this most wonderful precious little new family member! Charlie has a stroller and many toys and we take him everywhere with us. I’ve never seen such a little loving kitten. We love him so much & cannot imagine our lives without him in it! Thank you Zac & your mother for your part in this precious little soul & your continued communication with us about our Charlie.
Amazing BBQ
by CMR444 on 2020/05/25 15:23
I ordered 3 lbs of brisket and 3 lbs of pulled pork. It was amazing. I picked up two hours before our meal time for my own birthday and they told me how to keep it warm without drying it out. It was a big hit. The family devoured it. I never got to take any pictures of it before it was gone. Guess I will order more next time. I’m planning to try their beef and pork ribs next. I saw them bringing some out for some one else and boy it sure looked yummy. Thanks Daves BBQ for an amazing BBQ experience!

HORRIBLE!!!
by speakingFromExperience on 2020/05/25 13:31
Constantly calling this company to complain. Zero communication with regards to maintenance, switching between heat and cold, increase in HOA.....NOTHING. If you call all you get is “we encourage you to attend meetings” and “you should be thankful” and “I don’t live there so it’s not my problem” (yes, have heard all 3 responses when calling to report an issue). If you’re looking to buy or rent and “Stellar” is the owner of your building, keep looking!!!
Excellent App
by heyokamuse on 2020/05/25 12:51
It is better than the last one . It is fast , exceptionally creative like the site itself. Review system has massively improved. It is also easier to access the social media features on the site . The privacy settings are extremely secure as well . It wins hands down as it has evolved into just not another review site but the face of social media the way it supposed to be !

Can never get an order correct!
by Hockeydude1866 on 2020/05/25 01:39
I’ve never been able to come through this Taco Bell and get an order that was correct before driving off. Today was the worst of it all. Just placed an order for $70+ to feed a family of 7. They missed two items, went back through the drive through, explained what was missing just to leave the river through to miss a simple nacho’s with cheese, only to get the nacho cheese sauce. This is the most ridiculous Taco Bell that I have ever been to! I don’t see how hard it is to get an order correct when the order listed on the screen and reviewed by the QA/manager! How hard is it to read a screen and mark items correctly to ensure all items are in the bag! Yet you want more than minimum wage! Fix you issues if you want more money! Middle school quality for college order! Get yo life!
Horrible Service
by coolnessssssss on 2020/05/25 00:44

Trader Joe’s
by Eric to the hamilton on 2020/05/25 00:42
Yeah they yelled at me and told me to stand 20 far away from the cashier after I brought my bags up to him, Then the cashier yelled at me asking for a ID, They both sounded like Nazis. I don’t know who was worse the Whale in the line police or the brainless military nightmare man at the cashier. Read another review about it being militant and police like in there. It’s true. Also it’s close to my house. I should try a different one. Went there right before closing not sure if that made them bigger a holes than usual. I respect them trying to do their jobs but don’t make us feel stupid by being mean when I am innocently following precautions. Trader Joe’s employees (at least in Los Angeles ) where I am from, are historically nice 9/10 times. Polite intelligent helpful personable, Hope this review helps someone. Be prepared at this Trader Joe’s Play along and you’re fine. . . Good selection. Crab and sanitized I will give them that though the way they go about it.. wow .. just Wow

by miles0818 on 2020/05/24 23:31
Ordered take our. The hostess took order and it was clear she was not paying attention. I got there and she said they did not have the grilled cheese sandwich I ordered. I asked why they didn’t call and she said they lost my number. She never asked for it on the phone. My pizza was ready and when I got me it was not the pizza I ordered. She had no remorse and was rude when I checked out on 5-24.

Terrible front of house
by HELLHUND on 2020/05/24 22:31
This restaurant gets more than one star because the people who actually make the food are talented. The dumb, impatient teenagers they hire to take orders and answer phones have no clue about the menu, are short on the phone, and are rude and then quick to complain about the customers to their management. They get disgruntled customers in their face because they have, again, no clue how to provide customer service. Wake up, Azie, and hire people who are capable of acting professionally. You are loosing customers to Temaki and other restaurants who know how to treat the people paying their wages and keeping their restaurants open with kindness, knowledge, and respect.

A gem of a neighborhood place!
by shelleyk79 on 2020/05/24 18:30
Aroi Thai is reliable and has great heart. During this pandemic, they put out a sign offering to feed anyone in our community who is hungry but broke. Small businesses are hurting, but these guys are still being kind and generous. Their food is good. They add more veggies to dishes than you find in traditional Thai dishes (brussel sprouts??) but the flavors are yummy. I’m supporting them because they are a valued local small business and especially because they are being so kind and helping people in our community who are hurting the most. Thank you, Aroi Thai Team. I got take out from you all yesterday and will continue to support you. <3

The Best Days Have Come and Gone!
by Cville hometown on 2020/05/24 15:56
Last Thursday I went to the Popeyes in Collierville to pick up a 16 pc and biscuits to add to vegetables I had prepared at home. I was prepared to wait in the drive-thru line, that was no problem given the Covid19 requirements. I pulled into the line at 8:02pm I departed after paying $26 at 8:31 pm. I arrived home, opened the box to see that crust was falling off the chicken and it had NO taste AT ALL. It was easy to see they skipped all preparation steps. The chicken was horrible. I have consistently received poor service (wait time) pre covid19 and poor product from the Collierville location. I’m done shopping there. I will drive several minutes and miles to get the best product and service for my family and my money.

Shady crooked theives
by Brett10368 on 2020/05/24 14:06
These guys will destroy your business and bully you if you do not purchase their premium services. I told them no thanks and magically my business had 9 fake negative 2 star reviews the next day. Their rep claimed if I pay for premium the reviews will disappear. What!?! Are you serious!? I think yelp needs some regulation from the government as they are as crooked as they come.

Yelp has Poor service from their subcontractors
by NLMIfL on 2020/05/24 00:46
I have ordered food delivery through Yelp many times. In the Cocoa Beach, FL area, Yelp has partnered with Delivery.com who does not make timely deliveries, lies to their customers about the delivery, and who’s owner, Mike out of Titusville, FL, 321-607-1028, does not follow through with corrections of his company’s mistakes. Yells at his customer, then proceeds to harass the customers via text so you have to block his number.

Absolutely love Ultrasonic bug repeller!
by Meashale on 2020/05/24 00:21
The ultrasonic bug repeller is the best pest control product on the market today. It’s simple to use and it works! I had a problem with rats ok the patio and ants in the pantry. I tried everything, I even hired a professional exterminator, which cost me $300.00 and did not address my rat problem at all. I tried the Ultrasonic bug repeller out of desperation and much to my surprise this little device works better then anything else I have tried. I have been using the bug repellers forever about 3 weeks now. I have not seen anymore rats, except dead ones. My ant problem is over and I don’t have pesky flies anymore either. Great product, highly recommend!

I thought this would be a good way to find out which restaurant to go to and what grocery store to shop at. And don’t get me wrong, it’s a good app, but not for me. I have my location turned on but the app says I don’t and it takes forever to load, and I try to put a profile photo up but it won’t let me. These are minor issues but extremely aggravating.
Food is good, social distancing is non existent
by fcfjmvcdf on 2020/05/24 00:06
Placed a order last week but when I pulled up I realized they were acting the exact same as pre covid. Nobody was practicing any social distancing or signs saying 6 feet apart etc etc. no masks or curbside option. Decided to just not get my food and cut my losses. Shame cuz I liked this place before the world changed.

A Scam
by Amayayay on 2020/05/23 21:14
I’ve been told by multiple small business owners that Yelp informs them that they must pay a hefty fine of $300 to keep their positive reviews on their business page or else they will remove them from the public view. That is a disgusting business model that is dishonest and is hurtful to small businesses.

Lots of ways to share / no easy way to read write NOTES
by EatMyAnusApple on 2020/05/23 20:37
5/23/20 UPDATING RATING FROM TWO TO THREE they improved “add notes.” —————- Used to be able to add notes when you add a business to bookmarks/collections. Now that was replaced with share business. There are ALREADY a zillion East ways to share the business but NO EASY WAY TO SEE OR WRITE NOTES. When you save the business, you have to go to that collection and scroll for eternity to find the restaurant you just saved in order to add a note. I you use the search feature in bookmarks, there’s no add a note field. And if you go to the restaurants full listing, there’s no way to add a note or see a note. You all also REALLY need to come up with a better way to view bookmarks, remove closed restaurants from bookmarks and to search within bookmarks. 5 results is a joke. Handy app, but needs some major updates.

Venetian Nails
by Ranng22 on 2020/05/23 10:43
When I called Venetian nails I asked what their new protocol for manicures was going to be. They explained and I made the appointment. I was concerned because of this epidemic. I went to my appointment and am happy to tell you that their protocols are in place. From the reception desk taking my temperature and noting it next to my name to My favorite manicurist Cindy who was well schooled in sanitizing everything between clients, it was a pleasure to relax and enjoy the process. And my nails look beautiful again Don’t be afraid to ask. Businesses are happy to inform you of their new process and Venetian Nails is one of the best!

Map search is flawed
by B K Traveling on 2017/10/14 14:57
Summary: Map search results on iPhone include areas outside of map boundaries. I have had the Yelp app on several phones over the years and and I’m familiar with the website. I had it on my iPhone 6+ in the past but deleted it to save space about a year ago. Since then I have used the mobile website. I finally got tired of the nag screens telling me to view my search results on the app so I reloaded the app. When I search using map results I get places that are relatively nearby but not on the map. Very irritating to me. If I wanted results from other places I’d move the map or resize it. To Yelp: Stop giving me search results I don’t want or need. I just remembered another irritating thing about this app. Every time you change the search terms it resets the filters instead of keeping the previous ones.
I’m Yelp Elite...
by Mivoz on 2018/01/11 02:26
Love the app & the improvements made. Wish they’d make the following updates... 1. When you do a search, please automatically sort by distance, closest to furthest. Then, allow the list to be filtered again by: stars, etc. 2. Please expand your listing to the Bahamas. Your GPS is off and everything falls under Nassau, NY instead of Nassau, Bahamas. If Facebook can find me and I can check in there, it would behoove you to do the same. 3. When someone sends a complement based on a tip or a review, it’s helpful to know the context of the complement as the receiver. “Joe B sent you a complement from you review or tip at XYZ” 4. Please allow the about me section allowing it to be modified within the app. Please add more questions and please allow more characters to the comments. If I try to go online, it jumps to the app. 5. Please trigger notifications when you are active in the Talk section so you know there was a response. I don’t get notifications. I just have to keep checking back. 6. Please require a person to have at least 25 friends, 25 reviews and 25 pics WITH an actual pic before they are allowed to message anyone. I am beyond sick and tired of the stalkers and trolls. Men will troll to hit on women. This is not a dating site and creeps are getting in.
Yelp is a joke
by TorgerbLip on 2020/01/14 01:21
Yelp is utterly useless in trying to build an understanding of a restaurant. it has malicious business practices that hurt small businesses, and is a better reference to see how many stupid people had a poor understanding of what they were getting into through sol fault of their own. people flock to yelp to simply rant of bad experiences, or things not being as they expected, when more often than not, it’s just because they are dim witted and didn’t realize the price range, menu, or atmosphere before dining. on top of that yelp encourages restaurants to pay for ads to remove bad reviews and skew their results which just keeps big businesses on top and hurts the smaller ones. If you want a great example of yelp users stupidity look up grubhub on it. grubhub, an amazing ordering service with nearly a 5 star rating on the appstore, has a 1 on yelp because people don’t understand what it is, and are frustrated by the fruits of their incompetence.
Good but could use improvements
by Ric M. on 2019/01/31 03:44
Still my preferred app to check out restaurants. A couple of suggestions. I like that people can check in. It would make more sense if there was an option to geographically base the check ins. Say for example you go a business trip and there was an awesome restaurant you visited but couldn't remember what the name was or where it was located. While you remembered to check in, it was roughly about 3 years ago. You have to spend several minutes scrolling and scrolling through your saved check ins to find the general timeframe of when you went there. More often than not, I will skip over it and it just leads to frustration. Make check ins more useful. The same repetitive questions keep coming up. For attire, answering either casual or formal would generally suffice. I don't think people filter places specifically looking for a divvy or hipster venue. I think one of the more useful things you could add is average wait time and harness the database of loyal users. If you could ask if wait time is less than 5 min, less than 30 min, or greater than an hour for walk ins, that would help users prioritize their list of possible selections. Hope these suggestions make it to the next update.
Automatic opening of app- STOP
by ettie3 on 2018/02/01 02:12
UPDATE: Nothing has changed. I give the app a chance by clicking on a link in safari, knowing I will be redirected. I don’t get redirected to what I was previously reading. This is so ridiculous and tiresome. Clearly y’all don’t want people to use your site. ******* I am so tired of you guys forcing me to use this app while I am browsing on safari. It should be an option we can turn off. And if it's not offered, you do a great job of hiding the ball and making people search to figure it out. My use of this app is a choice. If I want to visit the website, I should not be forced to interact with the app. I thought you would have addressed this by now but nope. One star for tone deafness and really messed up advertising. Also: If you're going to force people to open the app when using safari and looking at the mobile site, make sure it works and people are actually directed to the site they were looking at on safari.

I love yelp because it is an all inclusive app that you can find anything that your looking for, from food to home maintenance. The great thing about it is the reviews and the pictures others post, it tells the true story of what your getting yourself into. I use Yelp for everything to finding places to hangout, to eat and even my vacations locations. Oh wait the best thing about Yelp is the discounts you get for checking in to places that use Yelp to advertise #awesome, I have gotten some good coupons and I like it as well for the badges and status you get for the check ins and reviews. Well I guess you can see I love to Yelp so I hope you become a Yelper yourself it will save you the time and headache trust me.
Why I’m Addicted to Yelp Now
by Lauren Hooligan on 2018/04/18 14:05
After being in marketing for years I always understand what Yelp is, how it’s great for business, how to set up profiles, what it costs to list yourself on there as a premium account, etc etc. Up until recently I never used the app and never really thought it would be useful to me. I preached about, and helped with developing processes to get consumers to write good reviews.... did I mention for quite a few years? Meanwhile I was over here never writing any reviews myself or using the tool to my advantage! I’ve saved money, visited little places I didn’t know existed and have settled food decision wars in my house. I love Yelp now and told my husband I may be headed toward becoming a full on “Yelper” soon. 🤔😊
Needs to prioritize reviews better
by Sashazur on 2018/02/08 05:05
It doesn't make sense that even for places with hundreds of reviews, the app lists reviews in random order... You might see a six month old review on top, followed by one from five years ago, then one from last week, etc. This makes it harder to tell if a place with overall good ratings has gone downhill recently, or if a place with overall bad ones has started improving. About the only way I can see this seemingly random order making sense is when a business suddenly gets a bunch of mostly good or bad reviews due to sketchy reasons - but that likely doesn't happen often. One other comment... I know people complain about how businesses can pay to get listed first, but the app makes it obvious by showing the "ad" symbol etc. and Yelp has to make money somehow.
Worst Business Decision EVER
by Jakey long on 2018/10/08 22:45
I’ve been in business for 13 years and never used any advertising to gain new clients from the internet or traditional advertising methods. I get new clients from referrals from current clients. I thought I’d join YELP just to have an online presence. Since that decision 1 month ago, I’ve been promised help with my business listing by Valentina my customer service rep at YELP (never happened). I have received 9 calls from other sites trying to get me to pay money to get my business listing to the top of a google search. I’ve also been charged $118 by YELP but Im not sure why. Valentina assured me I had a $300 credit to give my company exposure. (Randomly put my business at the top of the page when searching for my category of service) When I emailed Valentina, my customer service rep at YELP about the charge, she said she had no idea why I was charged and suggested I contact YELP billing. BOTTOM LINE: Dony join YELP for advertising, it’s a scam!
They keep making their bookmarks feature worse and worse
by CaliPharoah on 2018/05/25 21:43
Who is in charge of this design? I use the bookmarks feature extensively and it has only gotten worse. Now in order to see my bookmarks on the app, I have to select “more” from the menu at the bottom, then select “bookmarks” which doesn’t actually take you to your bookmarks but to the collections feature which is pretty useless IMO and then click “bookmarks”. Fine I’ve lived with that since the last bad update but now you have no way of seeing whether the restaurant is open or closed without having to click on the individual business. You can’t see it from the list or the map anymore at all and it makes bookmarks so much less useful on the fly. I was hoping they would add a feature to show bookmarks by “open now” like you can with the search function but instead they crippled the function even more. This is a huge step backwards
Garbage.
by Nickname is taken ugh on 2018/06/07 20:49
I don’t ever write reviews, but I feel compelled to about this sham of an app. Every time I’m looking into a business for whatever reason, the top searches all yield the same results: Yelp. Then, in the middle of what I’m trying to read, I’m forced to stop because Yelp wants me to go to their app. After months of this, I relented. Mistake. Not only does the app never have any useful information, but when I find something on the website and then “continue in app” it takes me to a page completely unrelated to what I was just reading! It’s such a scam. Don’t waste your time with this awful app, and don’t waste your time with Yelp! It’s a garbage website, with more ads than info. They obviously make lots of money to have the monopoly on Google searches, and I wish that would change, because all I want to know is who has the best sushi in my area and I might never know. Delete the app before you throw your phone across the room.
Very helpful
by Gravity Warrior on 2018/01/29 22:43
Use this app often to research anyplace unfamiliar, especially restaurants. I like to see real deal pictures from the customers and not just the dressed up ones they want you to see. I do find reviews can be skewed. Some people just can’t be pleased like complaining about a 30 minute wait at a restaurant on Friday night or a 2 star review because of something that was superficial and likely an honest mistake like putting the appetizer on the wrong check with a party of 3 couples. When taking all this into account I find this app extremely helpful and informative. So far it has helped my family find several favorite local go to spots. We especially rely on it when traveling.
Yelp's Review
by Wyverk on 2017/09/13 16:13
Yelp is quite an amazing app. Many use it to rate first experiences of restaurants, gyms, clothing stores, you name it. Others rate what they have been going to their whole life. Either way, it is a great tool to use in order to understand whether a place you want to check out is good or not. Another bonus to this app is the fact that some businesses are willing to give free product and bonuses just for liking them and leaving a review on yelp. One thing that does confuse me is that a place for show four reviews actually have more than hundred. I'm guessing Yelp either has some algorithm to determine if a review is legitimate or yelp has certain preferences towards certain businesses. Who knows?
Northglenn Heights Assisted Living Northglenn Colorado
by Dianne Lindenmeyer on 2020/01/17 19:44
Choosing a residence for our aging parents can be tough. I found Northglenn Heights in 2016 after my mom had 3 significant events that impacted her ability to live alone without assistance. When you come into the facility, Gwen will greet you and help in any way possible. AJ is so kind as she checks on mom before administering her medications. Kathy talks to mom like a dear friend. Theresa walked me through the transition for mom to have her medications administered by staff. And of course Gifty has held my hand with grace and patience through understanding the process of mom’s finances and how that works in an assisted living environment. The staff truly cares about their residents. Thank you for all that you do for my mom and others.
YELP
by AKPitman on 2019/09/24 20:08
I love Yelp! For a long time I had never even heard of Yelp. I was going to restaurants and writing reviews on the food I was getting every place I went. I have always considered myself a good judge of great food, mediocre food, and terrible food. I also believe in telling the truth, but without being downright rude. I then discovered Yelp and started reading reviews of places. I loved reading everyone’s opinion of all the different places. I don’t really remember how I got started writing for Yelp, but I’m glad I do because I love every minute of it. Meeting some of the Yelpers has been a treat too! Real people writing real opinions about food and businesses. Thank you YELP for allowing me to be a part of a wonderful organization.
What’s the agenda here? Or just incompetence?
by MC2020202 on 2018/11/29 05:28
Three different patrons left our business STELLAR reviews today on Yelp (first time I ever mentioned our presence on Yelp or had their link on our Web site [already removed]). Within a few hours, one of said customers contacts me to let me know her review was pulled by Yelp or made invisible, without reason or explanation. Why? I had no idea for her. Even worse, during the same timeframe, some older gentlemen we’ve never dealt with leaves a terrible, one-star review for us — even though he SPECIFICALLY CITES in his write up that he’s actually talking about an entirely different company with a somewhat similar name... It’s just unacceptable and infuriating... after this realization, I noticed that numerous other positive reviews that have been left by our patrons, were for some reason being made invisible and uncounted by Yelp. In the Cannabis industry (my company is a medical research and education organization), there are too many other resources for reviews available to even acknowledge Yelp. Resources which are UNIMPEACHABLE in credibility, cross-referencing IP addresses, among many other authenticity verifying protocols. This will now be a topic at our regional conference next Monday — I’ve already contacted the president of the Commission for my state, and I will be unequivocally recommending a boycott of Yelp for the entire Cannabis Industry.
LESS than 1 star
by SoCalLannette on 2018/08/22 21:54
As a business owner I know not every single customer will love you but Yelp lets anyone say WHATEVER they want, even lies with no proof and the business owner can only respond to the review! Yelp will not assist business owners in removing reviews that are lies! I am a Yelp user and I have been a loyal advertiser until today! I received a 1 star review from a customer that was in my store last week, her review is about 10 paragraphs long and contradicts herself multiple times, not only that but what she says is a lie and I have proof but does Yelp care? NO! Does Yelp care that I was screamed at by someone unstable for 30 minutes and I never raised my voice and do they care that she was given a full refund? NO! Does Yelp care that I was told by my other clients in my store and 2 of my employees that I needed to call the police on this woman? NO! Does Yelp care that out of her 19 reviews she has left for other stores, over 10 of them are 1 star? NO!
Incentives
by Artierce on 2018/03/15 02:32
Love this app! Use it often. Yelp has allowed me to further develop my critical and creative thinking! It has sparked the food critic in me. Which in turn helped me cipher between bias and unbiased opinion. A hat off to their development team, for keeping up with updates. Best features come in handy ...Such as the check in rewards for visits at participating venues. To the social status, and awards for rankings. One thing am not keen on. Is the image share. Within app—taking images, then resulting with yelp insignia all over the image one takes. What’s up with that? In a way that feature has discouraged me from taking images. No biggie. In all this app is fun to use and gives me incentives to continue using it! Thanks Yelp!

by Samsk1201 on 2017/09/13 15:32
I don't know any other app that does the job like yelp, and there's a reason to that. Yelp is unique in that there's a whole community that shares their experiences about restaurants all over the world. The app is so easy to use and user-friendly. I couldn't have asked for more from an app, and I believe this app will change your life, at least in the area of knowing what restaurants and joints to check out. Although the ratings and reviews may be opinionated, you're better off trying a new restaurant with the affirmation of good reviews on yelp, than trying one on your own whim (from experience). So if you haven't tried yelp, which is highly unlikely, then go ahead and give it a shot.
Yelp Exposes Bad Business & Scammers
by Kingof4rst on 2019/02/19 16:16
I am glad this app exists. In today’s world, unfortunately, there are many businesses who take advantage of customers. Businesses can’t alter or change the bad things they have done on Yelp and holds them accountable! They are like the police of the businesses for consumerism! Totally support this type of honestly and accountability from consumers and others. For the business owners who get mad or disagree, maybe you should check yourself! It’s too bad they didn’t have an app for the businesses who treat employees bad for future prospects, who are looking for work. For the businesses who do their consumers right thumbs up to you ! Keep up the good fight! Keep the businesses honest!! Thumbs up to yelp!!

I don’t like to waste my time or spend my money for service I didn’t enjoy. Since I’ve been using this app faithfully, I can honestly say, I’m never let down. I love how this app lets people take a picture and post about their experience. Rather just reading a review about how great a dish was or how great this hairstylist achieved their haircut or color but can’t see it. Yelp allows every review be personal but very helpful for others. Thank you Yelp!
Honesty
by Sherrie Ann on 2017/10/23 16:56
That’s what you get when you read a yelp review. No one gets paid to write a review unlike an advertisement. Remember how it used to be? You’d go to a place, the service, the products or the food were terrible, and you let your friends know about it. The owners never got any feedback generally and you just never went back. Yelp gives consumers a voice and owners constructive knowledge of how to improve. It’s no wonder that reviews can either boost or detract from Sales. It gives power to the consumer. Let’s face it, Honolulu is not cheap. And if you’re going to pay that much for something, you have the right to have something that is delicious, experience good service and a good product.
Live by Yelp!

I've been a very frequent business traveler for over 20 years. In that time I've been my experience seeing the country grow more and more interesting. Yelp has made the travel more interesting and fulfilling than ever before. In fact I always find anything from gasoline to entertainment using Yelp. I've learned the ins and outs of interpreting reviews and I cannot remember a poor experience after finding a place with Yelp. It's become my right hand when it comes to nearly every commerce transaction in my life. Yelp is a remarkable tool for finding excellent food, service, and entertainment. I will always recommend it to friends and always use it at every opportunity.
Home Depot on Barbara Jordan Blvd. in Austin, TX
by AustinJoeboy on 2019/09/29 19:55
I needed to rent a truck at a moments notice in an area I'm not familiar with at a Home Depot I'm not familiar with. The yelp reviews of this location were very low so I was concerned. I was relieved and pleased to find that I was very quickly connected to the right individual in the right department with the current correct information. When I arrived I was able without any trouble to find the right area to go to. I did wait about 5 minutes with a couple who had been waiting 15 minutes for someone to come to the desk to help but when the young man arrived everything went smoothly and quickly. Overall it was an easy, painless, very reasonably priced transaction. Good on ya HD
Use it all the time but annoying sponsored adds
by Emwilflower on 2019/03/30 01:12
I love this app but the sponsored adds are annoying especially when they aren’t part of your modification on search. Also annoying when you go to read reviews on a place and they actually have SPONSORED reviews or something for other restaurants as your scrolling for other restaurants. Not only are these adds irrelevant to your search, but it’s made me misread reviews for places thinking they were for the place I was looking up. HOWEVER! I will continue to use this app because despite the annoyances like, it’s still extremely useful overall and I’ve even used it to schedule appointments for hair and nails. But usually use for food. Still recommend it for looking up places.

Poor management reservation canceled
by smujmu on 2020/02/22 05:02
As a previous guest noted this hotel will cancel a reservation without contacting you if they feel like they have a higher profile guest or can perhaps sell room at a higher rate. My husband and daughter were booked for an admitted student event and while on way were contacted by Expedia and told reservation canceled. Had we not used Expedia they would have arrived at midnight without a room. I doubt property would have called. I called hotel and desk clerk told me they were oversold. I questioned him further and asked how that is possible. He said they are told by mgt to book walk in reservations as long as rooms are open. I asked to speak to manager and he said she was not onsite and put me through to voice mail. I inquired how many others are going to show up and have no room? He admitted that was a problem he was working on. It was 7 pm and they gave away our room. I had called ahead specifically to confirm a late arrival 11 pm and told we were all set. Their late arrival policy is 3AM! I stayed here in December and had a great experience. The desk clerk was pleasant. Hotel is new. Breakfast just ok. Room is spacious. The manager of this property should be fired. I wrote to Hilton corporate because I doubt the mgr will return my call. Sadly I will have to look elsewhere for future lodging since they seem to cancel on a whim.
Gutter guard installation-Joe Britton Roofing and siding
by Fairviewst on 2019/05/29 17:36
Contacted the above contractor with regards to having gutter guards installed. I used Britton’s roofing approximately 8 months ago for a new roofing. He not only gave me the best price but excellent customer service and the job was completed in one day. I can say the same thing with regards to the gutter guard install. Gutter guard installation occurred approximately 1 week after I had called. Very satisfied with the work performed on both installs. Would definitely recommend Britton’s Roofing. Joe cares about the quality of his work produced and he always makes sure his customer are satisfied with the work performed. I would use this contractor without any reservation for any upcoming work that I need don.
Yelp is my go-to guide for all the things!
by bowiesmama on 2018/09/26 19:20
Whether it’s looking for a new nail salon to try in my area or a hot sushi place in Las Vegas, I am constantly using Yelp to help lead me to my next destination. I love how I can read through reviews to find out what to order or who to book an appointment with. I also find it very convenient to see the hours the businesses are open and click to call directly. The most convenient tool I’ve recently used is the “Join the Waitlist” link for a local hot restaurant. What a convenient and time-saving feature! I truly don’t know what I would do without Yelp. It’s the best way to navigate through unfamiliar cities and even to find recommendations in my own town.
Best customer service ever!!!

I would just like to say that Keagan Ross has amazing customer service. After stressing for the past week after accidentally inviting my family over for thanksgiving (knowing I don’t have a dining room table right now) I found them on Facebook marketplace. I inquired about several different tables and all of my questions were answered within minutes..... yes MINUTES!!! They have reasonable prices and guaranteed to have our table ready and delivered by thanksgiving. They answered all of our calls and gave us so many options to choose from to create a truly customized table for our family. A big thanks to Keagan Ross for making this stressful time very stress free!
Medical clinics
by KTdid12345 on 2019/05/30 16:37
You must take medical providers/facilities off yelp. This app is single handedly demoralizing the practice of medicine in ways you will see clearly until physicians practices are owned by pharmaceutical / insurance companies / Coca Cola (any other corp w the funds to lead marketing). Hospitals are now branding. Emergency rooms are branding. This is unavoidable for facilities who wish to stay afloat in practice where reimbursement is becoming directly dependent on public opinion. Soon to be indistinguishable from retail, food industry, politics. Make no mistake this evolution is already happening behind the scenes. You must consider the level of corruption to which you are leaving medicine vulnerable, and what this means for patient care in the near future. You are industry leaders in this arena and have the opportunity to cap the damage and take bold ethical position early. Medicine was never meant to be ‘reviewed.’ If you continue to treat as a retail provider, this is what this practice will become.
Use it all the time
by Mkematt on 2019/04/26 21:27
Yelp rocks. I use it when I travel, when guests are in town, when it’s date night, just to see what’s new, etc. so I use it a lot. At least a few times a week most weeks, and sometimes multiple times a day. I find it's better than any of the other services like it by a mile. It’s outlasted nearly all the other restaurant review sites for a reason. It’s not perfect, like when I’m in a big city with a ton of options, lots of times I find there are one or two places missing from Yelp. Or if you’re in a small town you’ll find a highly rated place that really isn’t all that great. But that’s hardly Yelps fault. The app rocks. I love it and use it all the time.
BIG BIG BIG LIAR
by Doan Grace on 2018/11/06 09:45
Money is their first priority. They don’t care how hard people work to deserve their 5-star review. They have no glue or point except for deleting 5-star review just because you don’t pay for their ads. They told me that they treat those paying customers and non-paying customers the same, but I think that many business owners out there already experienced and knew Yelp is big liar. When you pay, they keep all the 5-star review and pull it to the 1st page. When you don’t pay, they delete those 5-star and pull the 1-star up. What such a dishonest business like that !!!!!! Please please please BOYCOTT YELPPPPPP. There are still google and facebook which are amazing for both customers and business owners. One more thing, they already delete our 23 5-star reviews on our page just because we refuse to pay a penny to them !!!!!! Be aware guysssss, don’t be fooled by this dishonest business !!!!!!
Best App for Restaurant Reviews
by Tigerrose88 on 2018/02/24 04:32
Yelp is very helpful in finding places to dine when you are traveling and in different areas so you don't end up in a "dive" restaurant or eating places that does not suit your taste. Stars are pretty reliable from personal experiences. Be careful on those with low ratings, its not as reliable than 200+ reviews. It's practical and easy to read. It provides tips and check in offers that we have used. They need to update and remove closed restaurants, maybe allow reviewer to put a closed notice. Need more reviews in European countries . Overall I am very satisfied with Yelp and it is more reliable than other reviews online. We travel a lot so Yelp is so handy.
pointless
by ItsTori_0103 on 2017/12/12 23:14
so if i’m looking on my phone for something and don’t have yelp its basically pointless for me to even try. and then again i’m seeing that honest reviews are being shot down by yelp to help save companies reputations? so why would i even trust the app? the app makes it so hard for me to find actual information about a place without being redirected to this screen being prompted to download an app that isn’t 100% honest and will feed me only what it wants me to know about some restaurant or some dog park where i just want to see some pictures. Advice to apple and yelp. make information a choice not a prompt to download some stupid app. it makes it so inconvenient and ill never want to use my iphone again to look things up on maps or anything. id be happy running another app or another system to get around this horrible way of trying to get people to download every app you promote.
Awesome app!! I do have a request though...
by BlackKnight0739 on 2020/03/09 22:11
First off! Awesome app! We use it all the time to find new places to eat! My friends and I came up with a cool feature we think the app could use; it’ll make it more social and turn finding a place to eat into a great game! Friend Groups: Groups of friends on Yelp can add each other for all kinds of benefits, such as checking in together or finding a good place to eat! Searching within a similar radius, the group members can vote for whatever restaurants they choose using a swipe system (or even a thumbs up/down selection if that’s copyrighted) and then vote on any matches! Anything that gets a unanimous thumbs up/swipe right automatically wins!
Unfair reviews
by dogs4pkc on 2019/10/12 04:02
I don’t understand how they can say they aren’t biased. There is often no rhyme or reason why some reviews are selected as “not recommended” and others, all factors the same, are left in recommended. I frequent a specific business often, my one luxury is getting acrylics done on my nails. Yet when I have more to say, instead of allowing it to post as an update, as they do for other customers, they separate the updates and post it under not recommended, leaving only the latest update. When I sort the reviews by the most recent first, even though the update is 4 days ago, it does not appear as recent. Since so many reviews are posted under not recommended, even those with 5 stars, it causes me to pause and question what is really going on. I’ve researched all their explanations but haven’t seen them applied.
Sensible Home Products
by CandisU on 2019/06/25 09:55
Jeremy is passionate about his business. Everything about my siding project was scrutinized and discussed. Jeremy explains other details such as the lighting fixtures on your exterior. I added exterior lighting, window boxes, a cupola, and a new storm door. It took weeks to decide on the color of my siding. Jeremy picked up several samples. Ultimately I chose the color and love it. The size of my shutters was reviewed and changed at the last minute. Jeremy had to make a special trip to make this change. The crew of three was pleasant and professional. My neighbors even commented they were quiet and respectful. When making a major home improvement I would recommend Sensible Home Products!
It Takes a Village
by NotADan3eM0m on 2019/03/03 20:42
We have traveled all over the world, and thanks to Yelp, our experiences are getting better and better. The Yelp community has some terrific people who provide honest reviews. Because of this, we have not had a bad meal (while traveling) for 2-3 years! In fact, my daughter’s dance group always asks where we are going to eat because Yelp has been so wonderful about helping me find hidden gems in strange cities. The Yelp community has also provided us with some new experiences - reviewing restaurants and shops in areas we would not have ventured on our own. Thank you all for helping me save time and money, and for helping me to provide unique experiences for my kids.
So much fun!
by Loonie Lisa on 2019/01/09 03:27
I adore learning about new as well as old local, especially small independent business'. And this is just the place for doing so. Like many I have always taken pictures of my good food. So I continue to go through all my digital photo files finding photos and writting reviews. Some say they 'hide' the unfavorable reviews. But I only want to know of the good anyway. We all have a bad experience from time to time. I just read a bad review of Trader Joe's in Spokane. It was months old and hadn't been hidden? Anyway it is a great way to be in the know and is really fun to participate. Be a foodie, pretend to be a critic, post fun photos and even make friends who enjoy similar finds. So far oh so good.
Excellent Experience
by Jay E Morse on 2020/05/15 23:37
During the virus shutdown I had my wife’s birthday celebration with all the mandated regulations observed. I searched for a lobster roll restaurant and Baxters Boathouse was open for pickup. A handful of times I spoke to Samantha to ensure everything would be seamless and ready when the day came. She was cheerful, reassuring, helpful and a pleasure to work with every time. The lobster roll dinners were excellent, well labeled and packaged in an organized fashion. The day came and all went perfectly, right on time. The young “masked” men that delivered the lobster dinners to the car were polite and prompt. I highly recommend Baxters Boathouse and Samantha should get a raise. I look forward to getting some more lobster roll dinners this weekend!
Fabulous dinner and wine
by Carmen lawyer on 2020/04/28 18:43
I am a long time Jimmys customer . Last week I bought homemade tomato sauce (vodka) ground Italian sausage mild, and frozen ravioli cheese and veal. I made the meal of Vikings, along with some great wine also from Jimmys. My sweet husband who I lost last summer loved Jimmys so I social distance made my way through the store and made this meal for my kids cause it was one of my Bens favorites. We raised our forks and glasses remotely , Bens favorite Jimmys red and we celebrated his life and his loss on what would have been his birthday. There is nothing like having a store that is like family. Support small business and try out the frozen Lasagna , cheeses, deli goods as well as all their fabulous desserts . Di Carlo Sister kills the desserts. Once they are back up get on the mailing list for the fabulous private dinners. Sell out in 15 minutes, that’s how great they are. Paul, Jeff, Mike and Tony are very very special people if you are a customer go back if you aren’t already go to them for the best service, wine, and food you can find in Dallas. They treat you like family and once you are a customer you will reciprocate. Carmen
Applebee’s
by Deldra on 2020/01/20 18:44
Very disappointed in they call a “All you can eat “ when it should be called “all u want us to eat “ Mine and my husband was going through difficult times with his toe amputated and him out of work for almost a year . We lost are place and was homeless we had to get food from charities . It’s been a year my husband finally went back to work and we talked about getting the all u can eat and getting full with our first check that we had extra money... ordered the shrimp with 7 pieces of shrimp the fries were cold and hard my husband got the ribs ( a fair amount ) went to order again this time I asked for the ribs it took 45 minutes to bring me a small plate with a small( tiny ) piece of rib) ordered again this time it took longer with a even smaller piece, . Will NEVER go there again beside that the customer service was poor . We had 4/5 different servers. The location 7677 Balboa Ave.
Mooya
by Delayed uodates on 2019/12/19 23:54
Mooya’s on Jefferson has great food, and fantastic service. I keep going back for my elderly mother who discovered them this summer. However, today my order was especially big as I got dinner for the family. Fernando cooked it amazing of course, but he took extra time to label and organize each bag so we’d know what food belonged to who and could dig right in. When you spend $45 + dollars for take out , you really appreciate 1. getting the correct order 2. well made food 3. extra service and attention they give you. I keep coming back because this business deserves my business ! By the way. first time hubby had one of your burgers and let’s just say , he’s a fan now.
You need to allow reporting of false info
by Ricky Browning on 2019/10/23 14:57
The app is great of course. But you need to allow people to report false information. I understand people have different experiences but when something is a flat out lie and can be proven as a lie by looking at photos from other users, we as a community should have the right to take down the false comment. For example I could say a place of business only allows kids to use their business but other users have posted pictures and comments showing adults using the business as well. That would not be a personal experience. That would be a flat out lie. At least allow the reporting to go to the business owner so they can be made aware of the false accusations.
Missed opportunity
by Audiberry on 2019/09/29 15:21
Very impressed with the decor and atmosphere. However, hostess informed us that there would be a 1 hour wait, but could sit at the bar or on the back deck. The bar wasn’t an option as we had our 18-month old. So we choose the back deck and were sitting in the waiting area while they prepared our seating. Two young couples arrived shortly thereafter and asked about seat availability, they were told there would be a 20-minute wait! Nevertheless, we took our seats on the back deck and were immediately assailed by flies. Long story short, this was not going to work so we placed our order and as for it to be boxed up. We got home only to find that what we brought home was not what we ordered. Called to inform them of the mishap and was offered a free dessert for my troubles. Suffice it to say that we will never step foot in this place ever again.
Great app, but some very annoying glitches...
by Alexkaay on 2019/04/05 08:53
Yelp is an awesome app but there are some glitches but that make it super irritating to use! The main one is that every time I go to look at a restaurant’s photos, it’ll freeze after a minute or two and then I have to close the app and restart it and search all over again. This happens every time I use the app without fail. Another glitch is when I search for a restaurant on Google, find their yelp page, click on the link and a message prompts asking if I want to open the page in the Yelp app. I click ‘yes’ and the app opens but not the restaurant’s page. I have to then search for it, which is not a huge deal but kinda defeats the purpose of me opening it on Yelp rather than simply clicking on the page from Google.
Bugs?? What bugs? My Yelp has no bugs. Please explain.
by mb365 on 2019/01/30 14:42
So I’m asking a question here instead of leaving a review because the App does not present a clear path to do that anywhere. If I get no reply from Yelp. THAT is a bug I want fixed. To this point, I’d like to put forth the argument that many update requests from App developers, including Yelp, are not necessary, at all. And, in fact, may not serve its users, but its developers. Why, you ask? Well, my friends, that is another conversation not for this space. At least not now. A better explanation to motivate user updates is very specific, VERY useful feature additions, and, of course, increased listings. A bland and non descriptive “fixed bugs”, says nothing, and actually has the potential to cover any and all activity and adjustments by the developer, that we users do not want done in the first place. If the update requests that come through by app developers more and more frequently these days are about bugs constantly, why is it that my apps have never crashed or behaved strangely, even as I miss multitudes of updates? Ps: Happy to upgrade the star rating when I get a reply from Yelp. I have no problem with the app itself. It’s the call for updates that I write about here. To be fair, it’s not an exclusive Yelp gripe. It’s for almost all app developers.
User interface & experience updates please
by curlsbythapound on 2018/05/24 20:17
Overall the app is easy to use and becomes more intuitive the more you use it, like with any aspect of technology that’s designed to learn preferences and make recommendations. What I would like to see developers improve over the next few updates is how you’re able to request “friends” or at least have a section where I can track/manage my requests one they are sent. After a request has been sent, there’s no section to refer back to or receive notifications from. I’m aware that you can edit bot Yelp and push notifications in the setting but I’d like to see some more updates regarding the social aspect. I use Yelp primarily from my iPhone if that helps.

Terrible
by Patsy Hilligoss on 2020/05/26 04:01
We order a $75.00 in food.

Totally disrespectful

by sassafrillyass on 2020/05/25 18:34
Zero stars for this intrusive app.

Crab and sanitized I will give them that though the way they go about it.. wow .. just Wow

A Scam
by Amayayay on 2020/05/23 21:14
I’ve been told by multiple small business owners that Yelp informs them that they must pay a hefty fine of $300 to keep their positive reviews on their business page or else they will remove them from the public view.

Garbage.

This app is a MUST HAVE if you want your coin spent for a good experience!

I use this app for everything! I tell my friends and family about it. I’m a very adventurous person so I love to try new restaurants, hair salons, nail salons, even night life when I’m in different cities!
Live by Yelp!
by Seb the FoodDude on 2017/10/07 14:42
I've been a very frequent business traveler for over 20 years.

Best customer service ever!!!
by Coxzy0989 on 2019/11/14 22:58
I would just like to say that Keagan Ross has amazing customer service.

Carmen
Applebee’s

Overall the app is easy to use and becomes more intuitive the more you use it, like with any aspect of technology that’s designed to learn preferences and make recommendations. What I would like to see developers improve over the next few updates is how you’re able to request “friends” or at least have a section where I can track/manage my requests one they are sent. After a request has been sent, there’s no section to refer back to or receive notifications from. I’m aware that you can edit bot Yelp and push notifications in the setting but I’d like to see some more updates regarding the social aspect. I use Yelp primarily from my iPhone if that helps.
