Getting worse !
by Daw135 on 2015/09/01 13:48
I try to use Facebook everyday but this site is a absolute mess. I can find no button to request friends.I have people listed as friends but can't post to them and they cannot post to me.I have checked all my settings and they seem to be correct so I may just have to give it up.....

BAD new update ! 👿
by ScaRlett Rosex on 2015/09/01 12:13
updates from bad to worse In the last update I can't mention my friends when I use the application from the iPhone! Seriously find a solution as fast as you make an updates every 2 weeks ! 😑 Very disgusting!
Connection problems
by 15090Nancy on 2015/09/01 11:58
I have been having connection problems since the last update. All my other apps & phone features are working fine. FB keeps trying to connect and alert pops up "re-establishing lost connection". Odd.

Another Failure: Users want messages built-in!
by xp22 on 2015/09/01 10:11
I feel like I am writing the same review every update. BRING MESSANGING BACK TO MAIN APP. it was a horrible move to remove messages from this app and force users to download a second app. How many biweekly updates will it take for these developers to realize this? unbelievable.

I feel like this app crashes on me more often with each update.
by AnmlBri on 2015/09/01 09:44
A few weeks ago it repeatedly crashed on me when I scrolled to a specific point in my News Feed. I thought it was an issue with the app, so I updated. Apparently that was a mistake going by the other reviews here. The current version that I'm using has crashed on me at least once a day for the past week or so. In other news, as someone else mentioned, I hate that now, when I visit an external web page in the app, the only button I have now is a "back" button. For a while, it just brought me back to the Facebook app, so if I clicked a link on the webpage and then wanted to go back, I had to exit back to Facebook, click the link again, and navigate to where I left off all over again. Bring back the browser setup! There isn't much point in updating every two weeks if you're not actually fixing anything useful, and if anything are making the app screwier. You had a good thing going. Why'd you have to go and muck it up?

The Antisocial Network (still)
by JKraley on 2015/09/01 05:45
AUG 28: (NEW!) BUGS: Notifications are not in chronological order: if more than one person comments on a post, the most recent comment is shown first, which makes no cohesive sense of using Fbook anymore! ALSO: Forgets where you were if you leave the app to quickly use Messenger to copy a quote, etc, coming back to nothingness. Slow loading, bigger battery drain, ugly "menu" change, yet still can't give us a "Most Recent" default setting usage!? This is a programming mess of an app. Overall: Facebook has reinvented itself to the point of devolution. Non-chronological "timelines" & too many ads: Why, w/billions in net assets, can't Fbook afford to give its users easy access to the "Most Recent" option IN their newsfeed? Why take private messages into an entirely separate app within an app? With continual "updates" that don't fix core problems, Fbook has managed to make my experience less social, less involved & especially less informed about my friends' lives, sadly. Fbook has become its own antithesis: The Antisocial Network.
Doesn't even deserve a single star
by Cooking with Johnson on 2015/09/01 04:59
here I am trying to create a stupid Facebook account so I can earn more rings on High School Story and all that I get is a huge list of complications. First, it demands I enter a confirmation code, which would be fine-if they had actually sent me the code! I refreshed my inbox a hundred times and never once got the email. When I tried to re send the code to myself, Facebook blocked me from using it!!!!!! What??? How is that the least bit helpful? So I go to the only other option, send to my other email, which I do. Thankfully I get my code, but when I go to input it, I WAS LOGGED OUT. So now Facebook is sending me to safari like are you serious? safari? seriously??? and now Facebook is demanding I give them my phone number which I have no intention of doing. Why can't I just use my email? Huh???? Is it such a crime?? must I enter my stupid phone number? I don't want Facebook chatting me up at 2am *Buzz buzz* ITS FACEBOOK WAKEY WAKEY EGGS AND BAKEY So now there's this account with next to no information about me which I cannot get into and cannot delete. I hope you're happy

Listening to music and getting on Facebook.

Distinguish between close and back
by I_cycle on 2015/09/01 02:19
In the latest update, there is a single back button for shared content that acts as both browser back and cancel/close/return to news feed. If you open a listicle with many pages, you must laboriously click back through each page to return to your feed! There should be one 'X' button to close the shared content and separate back, forward, and reload buttons to operate the embedded browser.

Every update it gets worse and WORSE... iPhone related
by DLov3Ly on 2015/09/01 02:08
WHY IS THE FONT SO BIG WHEN I POST NOW?! And for the love of the Universe could you PLEASE stay on Most Recent on my dang News Feed? Why do I have to keeping going back (to another page now instead of conveniently appearing on my home screen) to go back and click on Most Recent? And seriously, the performance of your iPhone app decreases every time you update it. It's getting incredible frustrating to be in the app at all now. Just keeps freezing and lagging and crashing.
Messing with volume level when app is open
by Trip on 2015/09/01 01:23

Trending topics update
by Christie<3 on 2015/08/31 23:36
The new trending topics layout is terrible!!! Who thought it was a good idea to make it so you can't see the whole title anymore? You see about five words and can't even get an idea of what the topic is about. The new font of it is okay, but change it back so you can read the whole topic!
Mehhhhhhhh
by Blue_yolozebra_ on 2015/08/31 23:26
Ok so I downloaded this so I would have to keep going to my web browser to check on messages and stuff. I tried to look at a message someone sent me on the app but then..oh wait I have to download messenger AND the Facebook app -_- this is by far the stupidest "feature" I have ever seen. Just put messenger and Facebook in one simple app and I'll be happy.

This app needs help!
by AshMarBurg on 2015/08/31 22:57
It is shocking to me how often the FB app freezes, completely shuts down and fails, can't load videos or photos, etc. 90% of the time the app works so poorly that I just give up on even getting on. It's amazing to me that a technology driven company could have such a poorly working app.
I do really like this !

Last Update-Now Unusable
by Angelk2121 on 2015/08/31 22:51
Nothing on my app will load now after this last update. I hope it will be fixed soon! I haven't minded any of the other updates tho and this app is generally pretty great. I just literally can't even load anything now. It freezes when I open the app and I have to quit the program.

by LauraDear on 2015/08/31 21:32

Okay app but repeatedly very buggy
by Wakethesunshine98255 on 2015/08/31 21:17
The notifications button on the bottom will show notifications but if you click it, it takes me to my profile. However if you click the button made to edit my profile, there is my notifications. I don't even know what was in this update that caused this but seriously Facebook, what on earth!?
ADDRESS THIS ISSUE!
by kingdavid1313 on 2015/08/31 21:13
When I'm listening to music on iPhone 6, facebook will limit my maximum volume until I close the facebook app. It's obnoxious, and it's been going on forever. I'm sure it's been brought up before. This needs to be fixed. Oh, and I still refuse to download the Facebook messenger app because messages worked completely fine before you made an entirely separate app for them. If you could stop being terrible, I'm sure that would be appreciated.

No, Thank You, I'll Just Use Safari To Look At Facebook Instead.
by Jenova (the real one) on 2015/08/31 19:51
Updating without changing anything every two weeks to clear the negative reviews isn't going to work. I can update this review every two weeks without really changing anything too! You don't need two apps where one web page does just fine. Facebook said I HAD to use their message app if I wanted my Facebook messages on my iPhone, so I deleted both apps because Facebook is not the boss of me. Also, Safari has a good mobile page which is 95% the same as the app. Now Facebook tells me on my iPad, I need to install the Messenger App. Facebook is not the boss of me, so I now I uninstall the a Facebook app on my iPad. See how that works? Simple.

by bnbplanet on 2015/08/31 19:00

Bring back the browser exit
by Elsponsdo on 2015/08/31 18:16
Update!! The update made it WORSE. Now I can't go back through any of the links. The back now exits directly to my newsfeed. Geez. Please go back two updates and Fix! This! This last app update no longer has a direct exit from the internal browser. If I open a link that has multiple pages of internal links I can not go back to Facebook without clicking through every page backwards. Please bring back the ability to directly leave the internal browser back to my feed.
5 Stars Is Not Enough
by Anegga! on 2015/08/31 16:50
This time I want to give more than 5 stars. Facebook is making great new features in their latest app update. But I also need to give suggestion what is still missing in Facebook "Auto-Like" features. It can also manage from a "Account Setting" this is what I feel for Facebook.
Terrible
by Ashrunner83 on 2015/08/31 15:26
Every time I try to use the search feature or look up friends the app closes. So irritating. Many functions make the app crash. I had to delete the app and re-download it. I shouldn't have to do that to make the app work.

Facebook update
by Loves WB on 2015/08/31 14:52
Had avoided updating app and now I wish I hadn't. Preferred having notifications at top of screen and being able to swipe from side to side. Update too cumbersome.....old version seemed much more streamlined. Do NOT like auto play video in newsfeed. Update***6/27/2015 FB used to have a really good photo editor. With this last update, you've taken away the ability to use aspects to crop and wonderful filters. 8/30/2015. Latest update. Can't edit photos at all!!! So wish I had never enabled updates very two week on my ipad.

I feel like the app gets worse each update
by Manicsubsidal01 on 2015/08/31 14:39
Today alone my diagnostic log shows Facebook exceeded the memory usage 89 times. The kicker is I wasn't using the app at all today. Not once. For even a moment. Facebook is also set to not use cellular and background app refresh is off. That being said, according to my battery usage, 33% is Facebook (background) How is it that an app I'm not using and isn't supposed to run in the background is using a third of my power consumption.

Just gets worse with every update

by Newyorkbitxh on 2015/08/31 13:09

Bugs bugs and more bugs. Most recent wont load and always says lost internet connection.
Read the reviews and fix it!
by Leedle Nation on 2015/08/31 12:43
You're going to start losing so many users if you don't read their reviews and fix the problems, just saying. But on with my issue. Every time I go to read and article it stays on for like two minutes and then just goes blank. I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but it's annoying. I'll be reading the beginning of a wicked interesting article, and then it'll turn white. So I go back to my news feed and click the article again and the same thing happens.
Facebook Location VERY WRONG!!!
by NCGWNY.com on 2015/08/31 12:36
Everyone I know is having the same problem! When I post on Facebook my location is about 100 miles off! I'm in Buffalo New York and it's telling me that I'm in Erie Pennsylvania. All my friends are having the same problem! I am not sure what you did, Facebook, but you need to fix this right away!
Facebook keeps making it worse
by Xamiel on 2015/08/31 12:20
For a company that supposedly only hires top talent, you sure have an incompetent app development and test team. For the last 3 versions, it has been impossible to upload any photos, both on the iPad and on the iPhone. You briefly see the picture you selected, a line start to scan through it (sometime you can see a hand) and the app crashes. You need to fix this.
It freezes and crashes
by The mighty Thorne on 2015/08/31 12:09
There might as well no even be a video player on it because half the time the video will freeze up and glitch and you can't watch it even if you exit out of the app and go back in it will still freeze at the same point.
Not cool
by Jen+Brian on 2015/08/31 12:02

Crash, Bang, Boom
by Ixzaiana Rose on 2015/08/31 06:00
Ever since the most recent update the app crashes constantly. I'll be reading a post or watching a video & the app just closes. I'll try to open it again & starts to open then closes immediately. I can't write a status update or comment on a friend's post because the app won't stay open long enough. This didn't fix bugs. It created them.

Still great
by Leftcoast1963 on 2015/08/31 04:13
Don't listen to the nega-reviewers. There's good reasons Facebook is the long reigning king of social networking. Those reasons haven't disappeared and no one is going to catch up any time soon. Problems are fixed and the app is instantly updated. If you "liked" it then you'll probably still like it now.
Impossible to look at Most Recent newsfeed without losing your place.
by Mechanical ninja on 2015/08/31 04:01
I prefer to look at Most a Recent, but default is Top Stories. Now it's worse because from Most Recent, one slight mis-swipe can lead you to lose your place. App is pretty useless now.

by CaliforniaHank on 2015/08/31 02:25
Both the iPad and iPhone versions have been steadily declining in quality. Both lock up for ten seconds at a time. I get bored waiting for external pages to start loading and give up and go back to Facebook itself. This latest update seems incapable of playing any video on any website. I have to load pages in Safari to get them to play.

This is garbage! I hate this update!!
by Gq_foine on 2015/08/31 00:38
These updates are worthless!! I call them the worthless updates!! You would think Billions of dollars FB would have an awesome app! Nope this App is always jacked up! News feed is never updated! News feed is distorted and not able to change the view bases on time/date!! The app is confusing! And you expect to be much better quality since they started online! Nope it's garbage!!! They want to show the news feed how it s works best for FB not for the user's connivence!!! news feed is completely distorted. The update every two weeks doesn't mean it's suppose to be worse!! So now we meaningless updates!! Meaningless update = meaningless app They want me to download another app just for me to review my FB messages! ! What a waste! And now they want me to download FB messenger separately. Why don't they ask me to download a separate app for just photos, friends, newsfeed, and everything. What a piece of crap!!! I am looking forward to Apple creating a Social media website and then I am moving over! Or another company who has a better social website I will leave without question!

Since the last update a couple days ago, I haven't been able to launch this app. It keeps crashing and I've already restored my phone and re installed with no luck.

Seems to be the trend for a lot of apps to update it until they hate it, change s great when what you have is no good but when you live what you have change isn't all it's cracked up to be.
So much better but....
by Colorado5533 on 2012/10/03 00:45
This update makes it SO much better. It is much faster than it used to be and crashes so much less often. It's only happened twice as compared to every single time I got on. It loads the news feed and people's pages quickly, and makes my post quickly without crashing as well. So all in all its pretty good. However, I can't change my profile or cover pictures, can't make a new album, I'd like to be able to customize more. Like who can see post or pics. Like you can on a computer, so only specific people can see it. Sometimes when I delete a post it still shows up in the news feed but when I click on it it says you can't find it. There is no share button and no way to save pics to your library anymore like there used to be so how am I supposed to share a pic or link with my friends. I can't delete a post directly from the news feed, I have to go to my page and do it, so it's just an extra silly step. And as I said before it doesn't actually delete it. And then it doesn't refresh. I pull it down to do so and it doesn't. I noticed because the time from people's posts have not changed. I've had to log out completely and re put in my password, which is long, I don't know If I'm the only one who has these little problems but overall this is much better than the previous version and is good to find friends and pages and see pictures and posts as well as make your own. I just can't customize anything or do much else than see what's going on with friends.
Facebook

I love the fact that I can keep in touch with friends all over the world. Lots of good stuff. I don't like that I can't take pictures off that I'm in if posted by someone else. I also have been spammed by people getting my info. The privacy settings need to be adjusted to accommodate to give permission for photos not approved by me or individual when posted on someone else's wall, etc. the events page says past but doesn't show past birthdays so I miss many birthdays by a day sometimes. Needs that function. Also when someone unfriends you, reasons should be posted... For understanding what happened. Facebook on IPhone shuts down many times when in the middle of something. Thats all for now. I absolutely love Facebook. This is how I keep in touch with my kids as well as friends. I love Facebook but there are many glitches. One when using my IPhone, which is where I use Facebook mostly, the instant text messages pull up my group but does not show the recent messages so I have been unable to be an active participant in my group. I am very frustrated with this because I am missing out in the conversations. I do love being able to keep posted in friends and family. I do not like the businesses in my Facebook. nor the likes I post so my friends see that I am reading their posts, I did not want my other friends to see my likes. That is my business not theirs. Makes me not want to use Facebook or post a like. I would like to make some of people's posts private.
Let 'me have it.

FaceBook? what a piece of cr......eative genius. There has never been an entity in World History that has captured global attention, curiosity, excitement and wonderment that is truly awe inspiring. There should be Rating button - how much do you enjoy FaceBook at this instance in time? "Hey what do you think?" Or "what are you doing?" Can now be answered according to the amount of courage and hutzpa you possess. In a way it Is the ultimate test of strength to the degree of loyalty you have regarding your religion and politics, the two topics which may get you banned or a following in the millions. Tempering one's remarks and enthusiasm again is how daring are you. Never-the-less it is the best instrument to see "what make's .you tick?" Those who want to be heard now can be. Facebook doesn't discriminate against social status, the most sad, most down, most lonely person in the world now can express what ever they want and have an equal chance as anyone to have it read. Many of us just wasn't our placed in the world to be noticed and respected. ThanK You FaceBook creators, you have given the world a remarkable cosmic string go use for the betterment of all. Sometimes only the right words have to be written to changes mind world Peace I wish one day all the people of the world can agree on what that means. If not being able to agree about it then at least being able to discuss it. Yea FaceBook you.'really ok in my little corner of the world
Great but one problem
by B'g Buy'r on 2009/09/02 03:21
I dowloaded the update the minute it came out. I was hoping for the landscape mode which I sorta got. When I'm in chat for instance in landscape mode and I want to swich to my news feed I go to the menu and it is in portrait. I was like okay... So I click news feed still holding my phone in landscape and it enters news feed in portrait and I have to wait a bit for the program to register the position of my phone and it changes. It isn't consistant without the whole program. Another thing I was hoping for was push notifications especially in the chat feature and for notifications and messages. I haven't seen that yet... A couple last things were facebook video capability and chat "errors". 1. Why show their are videos and a play button when you can't view them be cause they aren't compatible yet with the iPhones and iPod touches? 2. When sending chats and staying in the same place (not in the car and no change in serivice) I frequently get a message saying cannot send messages at this time and yet my friend is still messaging me. Resulting in having to close the program and opening it again. (which doesn't always work) despite these few problems I think that this application is a HUGE improvment in the previous version and if they fix these few problems I think we will have a perfect facebook app. There is "one last thing" as a Steve jobs would say, facebook is a lot more useful than Twitter. Twitter isn't worth your time!!
Long review and my solution to login issues
by TheRealBenji_IpodTouch on 2008/10/05 03:15
After the launch of facebooks first app I became very dissapointed with their lack of ingenuity, after flaunting with the idea of just closing my facebook account I decided to wait until the magic little 1 appeared on my app store icon for the update. Now after avoiding the little f button at the bottom of my screen for so long I'm happy to say I downloaded facebook app2 (at school, with their ultra-slow wifi) in hardly any time at all. Then I turned opened it and... It wouldn't login. Dissapointed, I figured it was because I was on campus, and hardly any of the schools I've been to allow access to myspace or facebook so no surprises there (who else resents having their devices limited by a fat techy in a chair?) anyway, after finding the same problem in by room I concluded that the site was busy and found I could login on my moms iPod Touch running 1.1.4 and the original app. I then preceded to turn off my iPod, turn it back on, and sync it to my laptop. Now it works just fine, and as my friends and I rarely turn our iPods off I think this may be the solution to others problems. Now the app works I have yet to come across a feature from the internet version (well at least on that is stupid) that is missing. Uploading, tagging, commenting, messanging and chatting are way easier than they ever were on the computer version. If you really want to know what the app is like, just download it. It's free so you have nothing to lose.
havent had much issues with it but..
by Clenzer1235 on 2012/01/15 04:46
ill have to say i dont understand what these ppl are talking about its been running fine for me and i havent had any complaints except a couple. When you go to someone pictures and view the comments on their picture then scroll to another picture u lose the ability to look at other peoples comments. That and this app needs to support ppl with other versions of facebook on here cause ive been chatting with people that are obviously online but it doesnt show them being online. It might not be the updates fault and might be a feature that i dont know about but it sure is annoying. In past versions my close friends tab has disappeared on me that was annoying dont know why that happen :/ . Also if you could make it to where we could play most of the games you offer that i can only play on my desktop that would be great but i know that requires flash :( . Alternatively you could make seperate apps for each of the major games ppl play on facebook so that we can login using our facebook login info and play our games anywhere we want. Also when i upload more than one picture to my account my friends only see 1 picture and not three at a time like others i have seen. I dont know if theres an option i need to turn on or if im doing something wrong but it is very annoying. You fix those things and honestly I wouldnt have really anything else to complain about. Im sure there are prolly more things that i am missing but i havent come across any
Version 3.4

This update is terrible the app is very laggy and it crashes frequently. The notifications are also terrible I will be sitting on my couch watching tv and I will hear the ring and it says I have a wall post or other thing but it was from like ten or even a half-hour ago. Either that happens or you don't even get a notification. For example if friends comment on your status it sometimes won't show up. This update is also missing a TON of things that they could incorporate into the app. First of all they need push notifications for the chat instead of just the noise. The noise only happens when you are in the app and your Iphone/Touch is at the lock screen. They also need to add the ability to tag people in statuses. Oh there is also one more bug I forgot to mention. The app doesn't let you post pictures. Once they add these features and fix these bugs they need to do some other stuff. I've only had my iPod for about 2 years and I am going to update to the iPod touch 5g when it comes out but the app needs a new design. They need to make it like widgets and have sliding features. If you slide left it brings you to the news feed and if you slide left then it brings you to chat and have a pull down menu for other things. The only thing that could be left alone is the notifications bar. Once they fix these bugs and add those features/layouts the app will be perfect. P.S. I doubt the new layout will happen due to the fact it would basically kill the app with crashes.

Put back the change the timeline picture on iOS devices change cover photo on iOS back I can't log in I see my post on my wall but not on my stream I wish I can change my cover photo to the app Can you add and change timeline cover photos How do I change my cover photo on my iOS device? Adelante Adam and the app say what you were doing please It's not working on the app idea what you're right what you're doing Nothing is showing up on my newsfeed what's happening Underbite see what you doing at in the category for celebrities and on the pages today like the app crashes when I try to push timeline Adding the app say what you doing Write what you adumbrate what you are doing on the app like listening to drinking watching a movie or TV show eating and how are you feeling that would be awesome Under listening to Adanon automatically from your iPod library that would be cool I'm girl are listening to Adam and a microphone icon and what people are listening to under watching at in the camera feature to scan what people are watching on TV and movies and celebrities and Adam and topics under Schlitter you say what you're doing automatically under listening to watching beating you eating and playing automatically add those activities in from different apps that are requiring you to sign into Facebook that would be I can't download the update on my iPod touch cool and easier
After resisting updating the app for a while...

..I finally caved. Seeing far fewer "sponsored" posts now is quite nice, but this update has reintroduced a baffling insistence on switching my news feed back to "Top Stories" mode every time I've been away from it more than a few hours. I don't know about you, but I will NEVER want to read posts in anything other than chronological order (aka "Most Recent"). So, that's pretty irritating and knocks off a star. However, I haven't had problems with crashing, and I appreciate the new "Copy Link" ability when viewing a web page in the app. Sometimes I can also copy a post for quoting purposes (but not always, which puzzles me). This is marginally helpful compared to the desired option: the ability to highlight portions of posted text for Copy/Define. New photo posting options are also more convenient and have some occasionally-useful filters. Haven't quite figured out yet if I can choose albums for them straight from my phone, which would be good. Overall, more functional than it used to be, and could be improved with a few more ease-of-use tweaks and the removal of that silly round, floating Messages icon which you have to drag to hide. (Its tiny collage of participant userpics doesn't help at all to identify the current message if you have multiple similar group messages going, and we already have an unobtrusive Messages icon in the top bar which doesn't need to be swatted out of the way like a fly after every use.)
Hmmm, what do I think of the FB app?
by -Misfit75- on 2013/06/05 18:49
Well, for the most part it's ok. It can be very useful to have it right on your phone and not have to use my phones browser. But I have problems with the messaging function! As I scroll to read longer messages the text disappears and reappears at will! It makes reading longer messages rather difficult! And when I tap a picture to get it to bring it up full screen it sometimes comes up quickly but other times it takes a long time! Sometimes so long that I have to close the app, reboot and restart it. So, what do I think? I think that FB is such a popular social network with so many employees that is now a publicly traded company and makes so much money that they really could do a better job with app development! And this new deal where it is setting goals for you, like "Adding 5 friends", and constantly pressuring you to list more information about yourself needs to go!!! I can set my own goals for what I want my page to be, I'm a grown man! And I can decide what information I want to share, again I'm a grown man! I'm sure they want you to add as much personal information as possible so they can sell it or target you for advertisements!!! And all this recommending pages or people I may know right there at the top of my timeline and news feed needs to go too !!! I don't want to see what you think I should do! I want to see what I added to my page!!! There! That's what I think about FB!!! HAPPY NOW?????!
Present review of FB
by Photo Crazy1 on 2014/12/04 09:44
Great way of reuniting and keeping in touch with friends and relatives. Do not need posts on news page of all the comments and likes of my friends' friends. Leads me to believe that a lot of privacy has been lost. Also too commercial now with all the ads inserted in main part. Also we used to be able to easily hide posts from friends without defriending permanently. In trying to find important posts from friends now it is much too time consuming to scroll past all the garbage. Used to love checking FB a couple times a day. Find myself looking at it less and less and much more discreet in personal comments. My comments haven't changed much. I do find when using phone or iPad app I have difficulty getting to settings to eliminate having their comments or likes of friends appear on my page. Ditto what I recently wrote. Since upgrading this app in Oct 2014, it has gone further downhill. When wanting to add a pic, I used to be able to go to an album in iPhoto, but now I can't. In other words, I would keep all the cute pics for birthdays in one album. Now I have to hunt for a picture. Also, there are ads covering up parts of articles and have trouble closing the ad so I can read the article. Some comments stay the same. Nice to have FB in phone especially when out or traveling. Don't like ads which are hard to close covering up articles. I'm one that is not interested and fast forward TV to skip commercials.

You asked for a review so don't get mad if your chastised. There have been too many instances where people and friends have mentioned how some of their posts were deleted or just vanished because of their political context. I myself recently had a comment just disappear after posting it. It is becoming more and more apparent that certain political expression is discouraged through censorship. If this be the case, I expect you to be the ultimate example by staying clear of Freedom of Speech & Expression or when you suppress one, you do so for both major party's. Either We The People have the Right to Free Speech or Facebook becomes a "Big Brother", just another leftist media controlling platform deciding what people can or can not post about OUR elected officials or you become the frontrunner, ahead of EVERY News Source by staying clear of We The People and allow us to expose ALL the corruption and injustice that has gripped our great Nation! Facebook should encourage people to question and speak up about OUR government. After all it is our Duty as Americans to do so! But over all, of course I greatly like Facebook. It's an awesome social network, just as long as Facebook stays out of We The People's Right to express our likes and dislikes about how OUR elected officials, on both sides, are or are not doing the Will of the People! Thanks!

I really wish I could give the 5 Star Rating I used to think Facebook deserved! I do love the opportunities of connecting so many different people. To connect with my daughters in other countries is really nice, too. You can put family all together. But, OH, it's a big BUT! But too many things go wrong too often. The 3 that really bother me are reading a friend or family members Post, type out an answer---touch to Post------it DISAPPEARS! Where? I dunno. In the middle of reading, texting, anything, and it Drops me back to my APP Start Up. ???? I dunno. But the most frustrating, disappointing, irritating is when I open Facebook, reach to touch & open for a response, and it flips away before or just as I touch, and its an hour before I find it again! If I keep trying to. If I wait I may not. Today I opened Facebook, to my News Feed automatically, a beautiful child's face was smiling with her new hair style to start the school year. It flipped away. I don't know why or where. Or when I will see the pictures of a middle school granddaughter that only said my daughters name and she had posted 2 new photos. I think I need to just text or message and request that she do them over. I had waited on seeing those. In anticipation. I'm not mad. Or angry. I might have been a little irritated. But I know that I will get them again. Just a disappointed grandma. Now, you don't have to publish this. Just read it and see if you can fix it. Thank you.
Has room for improvement.

Okay so first of all, facebook's mobile iOS app has improved over the years. Overall, I do enjoy using the mobile application as it runs fairly smoothly and does not usually have trouble updating me on what my friends are up to. However, there are several flaws that make this app a pain to use sometimes. The biggest annoyance I have with the application is its chat function. The chat itself runs pretty good. when I minimize my chat to scroll through the news feed, I get a message notification when my friend sends me a message through chat. When I open up my chat box to reply, the red message notification does not go away even after I have replied to their message which I find annoying. I have to go and tap the message notification icon and physically open the message I got the notification from to make the notification to away. That is the biggest issue I have with the app. Along with the chat notification issue, I also find it annoying that the notifications will fail to update you to your latest notifications if you leave your iPad in hibernation for a few hours. I had to completely close and relaunch Facebook in order to get up to date notifications on my iPad. Aside from that, the application works pretty well for me. I hope they update their photo gallery soon as they have done for their browser site as the images now look awful on the new iPad. Also, the icon is still pixilated on the new iPad, please update soon!!
Why can we still not tag?
by M Abercrombie on 2012/06/16 23:58
First, let me state that this app isn't bad. For the most part it gets the job done and it's much less cumbersome than trying to use the "mobile browser" version of Facebook. However, when I'm on a computer in a web browser I can hit the @ symbol while writing a post and tag a person/business so that their name shows up as a link to their profile/page. This is a highly useful feature which has STILL not been included in the iPhone app, despite being out for quite a long time now. What gives? In general, day-to-day, I use the app more than the browser version of Facebook. It is super annoying to have to wait until I can have access to a PC to be able to link to someone in a post. If I'm out at an event and want to "check-in" and tag a business represented at the event (like I was today), I'm out of luck. That business just lost my free advertising because this social app is missing a key social feature... And if I want to tag an artist in a picture that I took on my iPhone, I first have to email the picture to myself, get on a computer, go to the webmail portal, download my picture, then re-upload it on the browser version of Facebook... Running a recording studio, and wanting to tag bands in my pics, I run into this issue almost every day. Again, what gives? You would think that Facebook would think to add one of their most basic and useful features to their iPhone app, wouldn't you?
Some things need to change
by No1grandi on 2012/09/17 15:30
I've been on FB for quite some time. And while I believe in upgrading and moving forward, I do not like all of the changes on FB. If its not broken you don't need to FIX it. Change just for the sake of Change isn't always good. I would prefer to see all my friends personal status updates again... And not have to go to their page and mark that I want to see them. I have over 1,000 friends that I try to stay in touch with. It takes too much time to try to go to their individual pages and mark "close friend" just so I can see their daily updates. And even then, that doesn't always work. I've had to go back several times when I realize I'm not seeing someone on my page and mark that I want to see them on my newsfeed. I really wish that aspect could go back to the way it was before all the "updating FB" became so popular. I also loathe the fact that FB now allows all those "cartoon" pics to be added. I personally will disconnect from anyone that solely posts those things because that's not personal communication and it takes forever to wade thru them. While I will say some are amusing and I can see why some people post them to bring a smile.... Perhaps there could be an "update" where there is a separate page for these things just as there is for personal photos and let the newsfeed be just for personal status updates. I have written all this....realizing FB could care less what I think. Maybe my venting is at least therapeutic.
New update is much to be desired.
by Ewarren534 on 2013/03/27 06:06
Ever since I updated to the newest version, the app has crashed more times than it's worked. And when it does work, it freezes and I must tap links numerous times before it'll begin to load. The feed is INSANELY slow, and only goes back a minimal amount of posts before refusing to load more. Unacceptable. My notifications also take forever to load if they actually show up at all. And I've been getting phantom notifications when there isn't anything about which to be notified. As far as the new layout goes, why are you trying to inject the twitter layout with the icons for feed, messages, profile, and more on the bottom of the screen? The same icons are at the top. Having two is redundant and cumbersome. Pick one. I don't care which. I very much like how you can easily upload more than one picture at a time. Nice change. But pictures seem to be taking far longer to load in this new version as well. I do not use Facebook for the bells and whistles of the app. I use it to keep up with my friends and share my life with them. If I cannot easily do that with the app then it is useless to me, and I find myself drifting to twitter more often to interact with friends. My advice is to focus on what your customer needs most out of this product: speed of the app to enhance speed in communication, less APP and more us. I was much happier when the app looked more plain and actually worked correctly. This reboot should get the boot. And fast!
Pretty good but could be better

I wanted to love this app and give it 5 stars - I really did, mainly because I love Facebook. I am, like many others, addicted to it. SO it's absolutely wonderful to have an iOS app for Facebook. The problem is, the app is lacking several features. For example, users cannot update many parts of their own profile including "about me", likes/interests, and several other things. In an age in which people can live with an iPad or iPhone as their only technology, it would seem to me that the app ought to be able to do everything you can do in the web browser. Unfortunately this is not the case. Fortunately I also have computers, or I suppose you could use Safari on the iOS device, but why shouldn't the app do everything. For its part, everything the app does, it does very well. I like it and use it every day. I would have given it 4 stars rather than 3, except that the Facebook Team does not seem to have a direct way to actually get support and receive a guaranteed response. All the contacts result in either bug reports or feedback submissions which make no promise of any kind of response. If I didn't love Facebook, and if I were just judging this app as an app, I'd keep looking, since it lacks what I consider to be some essential capabilities, not the least of which is actual app tech support. Yet as I said, the app does work well, and it has become an essential part of my iOS devices and my life.
"BEST" Social Application in the World!!!
by Abercrombie10 on 2013/01/06 16:27
FB has brought about a few "positive" results for myself, as well as, for a couple of family members. I utilize this very App in the best fashion possible, such as, locating long, lost family & friends of which without this AWESOME App this very outcome would NOT have resulted as I attempted to locate in the past prior to the creation & development of FB and zero results came about. Similar outcomes resulted with a couple of family members, as well!!!!!!! It's all in how you utilize & engage in this social App, as occasionally, I will hear negative comments about FB and how it supposedly got them into trouble in some way or another??? Well, it's NOT FB that gets people into trouble, it's people who get themselves into trouble; they're NOT using FB in a smart way instead they're, no doubt, putting their lives right out there where everybody can view it, well, that's NOT FB's fault, rather, that's a bad decision and/or judgement call on behalf of that particular individual who is blaming FB versus blaming themselves(typical, though)!!!!!!! I LOVE FB but know & understand how to utilize for my "benefit" and the positive "benefit" of others, too but only with their prior approval, of course!!!!! "THANK YOU" FACEBOOK(FB) for developing such a social App(#1in the WORLD) that has brought many POSITIVE Outcomes & Results to many people's lives!!!!!!!!!!
Some good additions, some bad changes

First of all I like the new format of the news feed and being able to select different feeds from the top of the screen and the new chat heads on the iPhone are nice, but I have had more random crashes than ever before-even on initial startup, but also performing other simple functions requiring a change or refresh of the page. My biggest issue is with 'pages' I can no longer go on a page and read 'posts by others' which is huge for me on a certain page I contribute to frequently. I can still post to the page but I never see it until I get a notification about a comment or like of that post. Am I missing something with that? Or am I just screwed on this version until hopefully it changes back to have access to what other people post on pages. I also have some questions about the chat features that have always boggled my mind, I can see when people are online or how long it's been since they have except for one or two of my friends and they can see my time since being online until a few days after this update one of them randomly noticed that my 'time offline' disappeared without changing anything, and well after the update. Overall I like the news feed and how this works with friends, but I'm extremely disappointed with how 'pages' show up now and the lack of features and ability to see the entire content of them
I like it.

I had a horrible time downloading the update. first the app wouldn't load, so I restarted my iPod. that didn't work, so I deleted & reinstalled the app. still wasn't working so I restarted my iPod again. that time my ipod froze on the apple logo & I had to restore it >.< I think part of the freezing was my fault though, as I was really running out of space & may have not had enough for the update. anyways, the new interface is nice though I don't understand why one section is called "favorites" when I can't change them myself. I'd like another little thing like we had before where we could add a person & quickly go to their profile & everything. just more customization with it, really. opening links is a lot faster now which is great. I love being able to quickly see a notification or message & then jump right back into what I was doing. I am having some problems with a notification showing up when there is nothing new, though. that gets a little annoying but over all I really like the changes. I don't see why everyone has to get so upset every time Facebook makes a change... this app shouldn't have such a low rating. edit - okay nevermind. if people are have that bad of problems then it does deserve a low rating. xD please get another update out quickly.

How is it possible that with an iPhone 5 and LTE and wifi and 100 megabits per second download speeds the Facebook app still sometimes takes 30 seconds to load a photograph? Or doesn't update properly? Or doesn't delete messages when deleted? Or crashes? How is it possible that I have to refresh my messages several times sometimes before it shows me new ones? How is it possible that in 2013 I still cannot actually delete messages on the app but have to archive instead? Admittedly this app gets better and better to use and easier to use each time, and I am super excited about having direct implementation iOS 6, however there are things that have not been taken care of that in my opinion that should've been handled five years ago. Kind a like PayPal who doesn't have an iPad app yet… But the iPhone app has been out for years. Integration into the iPhone is nice, but you cannot tag people or mention peoples names, you can simply post or post photographs. Obviously at this point everyone in the world has the app it's not really a question of whether you download it or not so I hope that engineering just reads this and makes the necessary improvements, other than that, Facebook is a really great experience and very useful to grow my life and business on. It's an amazing tool to connect that truly has shaped this era.
How can you be good yet bad?
by Κunta Kinte your name is Toby on 2012/09/02 13:13
Well guys I have to say that the layout of the new Facebook app is wonderful and much easier to navigate. They have made it much more user friendly now which is a plus. Finally they have returned to the alphabetized friends list no longer this random friend list they would show you before so now it is much easier to find your friends. Sadly though with all the improvements they have also gone down by taking away certain key features. Such as the headache to delete messages. You may think you can not delete them but you actually can, just don't try it from the actual messages center there it won't let you. You have to go into the chat to actually delete well not delete actually archive them because Facebook seems to like to keep a record of all your conversations (don't say anything that can be used against you in a court of law). Another thing that bothers me is the inability now to change my cover photo from my phone. Seriously I have to wait to get on my PC to change it? So if I take a picture on my phone and I want to use that as my cover photo. That means I have to upload it to my PC or directly to Facebook then log into through my PC and change it there. Couldn't make it more of a pain guys. Overall some good changes but the bad bring it down so I give it a 3 out of 5. Which maybe still a Lil too much. Maybe 2 1/5 if we ha the option.
Great tool for keeping in touch......BUT.........!!!!!!!
by Their Nana on 2013/01/13 00:45
I love Facebook for finding people I have known and WANT to keep in touch with. I have stayed with Facebook for years, through changes, upgrades, etc. Lately it seems that changes aren't necessarily for the best, and make it more difficult to manage information and feel secure. MOST IMPORTANTLY, however, I found out recently that if you really have a major problem with Facebook, SUPPORT IS NON-EXISTENT. My Facebook account was attacked because I clicked on a link sent from a friend's account regarding tickets from Southwest Airlines. Facebook (rightly so) locked my account, as the attacker was accessing my friend list and spamming. However, although I asked REPEATEDLY for assistance, searched for help and answers, called every number I could find, I received only two replies from Facebook - one asking for verification of who I was (again, rightly so), and one email to advise that my account had been restored and my access granted. Not true - as I was NEVER able to access my account again, and NEVER received another reply from Facebook, although I emailed and called several times per day for days!!! I lost my account, all of my data, access to friends, pages, areas, etc., both free and purchased, that I had built up over the years. Also noted: "Help" information links do not necessarily contain correct information. NOT HAPPY!!!!!!! If my friends and I find another app to replace this, we will definitely try it!
Love/hate relationship
by Gracemomlett on 2013/07/10 12:58
Facebook is Facebook, an ever-changing forum that challenges the obsessively social members of society to conform to the learning curve. Why can't I treat my liked pages like friends and get notifications from the ones I choose? And if this is already an option, why does it require rocket science to figure out how to do it? Why must I restart the app when I click on stuff, sometimes? Servers in overload or is my ram the problem? And why does fb take me back to the beginning of my feed when I follow a rabbit trail? Is someone laughing maniacally at me every time I have to scroll back through it all to get back where I was? I understand the need for occasional updates, but can future changes involve less automatic availability of my info to the masses, and feature more emphasis on the protection of my privacy? And why can't I go back into my own posts and find stuff I put there? Sometimes I post things so I have easy access to them later. If you're going to erase stuff from my page, can you at least give me a heads-up first so I can back it up? Do I sound annoyed? I guess I could have continued on in frustration, a slave to my appreciation for all the good things about Facebook, but since you asked for my opinion...oh, and how many times should I hit Submit before my review is posted and the "Write a review" option goes away? We're you just waiting til I asked that question?
What happened?
by Alfonso Huerta on 2014/08/20 15:03
The idea behind Facebook is probably the best thing about it. Then the reality of making money has made it frustrating to use. I am not like the average user on Facebook. I use Facebook to stay connected with people I actually know in real life. I don't follow celebrities, organizations, or news sites. I don't like every single post that pops up on my almost useless timeline. Every time I log into the app, I have to switch to the most recent. I don't care for the "top stories". I just want to see all the new posts since the last time I logged in, not all the likes. How is that new information. I say useless because the same posts continue to appear on my timeline every time someone likes a post. I just want to see the latest post. I don't I care if someone liked someones post from a week ago today. I wished they would let people customize their newsfeed. I like that my own wife's posts don't appear on my timeline. What I started doing is going into my friends pages that don't appear on my timeline to see what they post. Also, why the hell would I want to use messenger. If people wanted to contact me they can do it on my Facebook wall or they can text me. I am not going to download another app that will have the same function as someone texting me or posting on my wall. I rarely post things and I don't share my personal information on social sites. I just basically use Facebook as an active address book.
Multiple Issues
by eryn21rose on 2015/08/11 04:30
Everybody uses Facebook, that's obvious. Pretty much 99% of the time we use it through this app. You would think with "updates every two weeks" it would be the best app in the store but it really isn't all that amazing. I know I'm not the only one whose newsfeed has a bunch of status' from people that posted at all of these different times. But then you have the option to go to a "most recent" newsfeed. Why is that? Don't you think it would make sense that status updates would be in the order of the times they were posted all in one place? Another huge issue of mine, and I'm sure everybody else, is the whole issue of using a different app for messaging. We have phones with low storage spaces. Why should we have to download another app and take up more phone storage just to message when we could use it in the Facebook app itself? It's probably one of the most pointless thing's ever created. Not only does this make app users annoyed but it's just pointlessly inconvenient for everybody. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say this but I really wish Facebook would just forget the messenger app and revert it back to its old messaging way. Other than it just being a typical social media app, it really doesn't stand out from the crowd. It's outdated and doesn't "wow!" me. You want to bring back a bunch of Facebook app users, fb? Get rid of messenger and maybe create something that's actually beneficial to your users!
Freezes, updates endlessly, shuts down without reason, hate the ads!
by alpha1me on 2013/05/23 12:48
*THIS IS AN UPDATE TO MY REVIEW FROM SEVERAL MONTHS AGO: Nothing has changed. It still freezes constantly, shuts down without reason, updates endlessly which prevents you from doing anything until it decides it's ready to quit wigging. And, I STILL HATE THE ADS! If I want to shop, I know where to go. I have enough of a brain to not need suggestions. Don't we get bombarded enough with that kind of stuff on TV? That is why I cut the cord from cable and do Netflix! Fix this thing! It's near unusable some days. Previous review: You know, if I wanted to shop I know where to go on the web to do so, or I can put on my shoes and go to a real store. I hate seeing ads or as you call them "suggestions" on my page. It is almost enough to make me leave once and for all. Get rid of the ads on my page! If you want them on the side bar as in the past so be it, but not on my page!!!!! Also, the app freezes up and/or shuts down constantly. At times it will attempt to update and get stuck in the updating status until I close the app. I can open it back up and it will still continue updating indefinitely. The only way to make it stop is to either uninstall and reinstall the app or shut my iPad completely off and the cut it back on. Can't say it's my WiFi strength, tested at 20+Mbps. OVERALL, I CAN LIVE WITH THE FREEZING, SHUTTING DOWN, CONTINUOUS UPDATING OVER THE DANG ADS!!!!!! GET RID OF THE ADS!!!!!
Too many modifications
by Meshell222 on 2013/08/02 13:31
So many updates so many modifications/upgrades are becoming overwhelming. Facebook constantly needs to be updated and its pretty annoying. Though it would b nice for bug fixes to not be necessary so often after updates that modify and upgrade the program. Though I personally liked FB better when it was simple with no timeline. I don't need to chat with anyone through my FB app. And I certainly don't need to be on FB 24/7 using all the fancy updates. I like to be able to quickly check in and see what my contacts r up to. My biggest pet peeve is the fact that u can't prevent anyone from posting embarrassing pixz. And Cyber bullying on Facebook is growing in large volumes an there seems to b no way to prevent it. Many young impressionable Tweens/teens are suffering the repercussion. FB needs to do something about it. In the meantime I am just going to stick with FB on my PC rather than my phone especially since I can't accidentally like something with my mouse. Added comment: One feature that is annoying is when hiding friend requests. They r hidden for a reason and don't need to be highlighted on the friends page. Now the friend suggestion is even more in your face and when u click on see more it takes u to the area where u can see all ur hidden requests. Please remove all of this. It's too much. Especially for people who want it simple and don't need to be constantly adding new contacts.
Too many glitches or bad programming
by Chief O on 2013/02/22 04:21
I don't like the program on a few areas. I setup to receive notifications when my wife makes posts but now I don't get them. Last couple months I would receive a text message notification and warn me to keep on I had to reply. I would reply every time per the instructions to keep on my messages and then it showed I would continue to receive messages. This happened many times within five days or less and then it would happen again. I did this multiple times. I recently went to my page on my PC and again turned on my notifications (15 Feb) but then again on 19 Feb it was off again. This is BS to keep making me and others keep turning on something I already turned on. Today, 22 Feb I see my wife did some posts but I have not received any notifications. I don't like that it only loads a few posts and then I have to select to load older posts. People should be able to preset a number of days to preload such as 30 or 60 days, not just 5 posts that were all done in less than an hour. My biggest problem is access to an account for a deceased person. The surviving person or police should have access granted based on a valid police report just like insurance companies or stolen cars with on-star. Last, I saw the story of the 104 year old woman and the fact she can't use her real age. Facebook MUST change to allow her to use her real age!
Crashes too often; doesn't deliver content; push notifications almost never send.
by autermatic on 2013/07/04 16:29
Developers, here's your moneymaker: The more on my newsfeed that I have to scroll through, the more ad content I'm willing to put up with. So; if the person is on my friends list, PUBLISH ALL OF THEIR STATUS UPDATES TO MY NEWSFEED. I only get consistent status updates from maybe four people on my friends list; either you've run everyone else away, or you're failing to deliver status updates from all my friends. (Oh and sometimes the App refuses to load any updates from more than just a day ago. Again: more content means more traffic for your business partners.) If I open a shared link halfway through my news feed, when I return I have to start loading all posts again from the very most-recent. Instead, I'll just stop using FB for the day. (You might have fixed this already, but since I've already almost given up on your App I wouldn't know. I'm sure you're not trying to lose even more consumers though. You'll notice every front-page review from recent dates - ALL of them - are one-star reviews.) Push notifications almost never send -- there is no discernible pattern to why they work sometimes and sometimes don't. When I move from the App to a different App, then re-open Facebook, it will just crash. This results in the previously-mentioned having to re-load all the data on my newsfeed which I've already seen, if I want to continue browsing. Instead I abandon FB for the day.
Privacy policies
by CookMom03 on 2013/10/21 14:39
I love the App and love Facebook! I'd say its perfect other than picture privacy settings! I believe your pictures should be able to be protected to the fullest extent!!! For those that don't care they don't have to put the settings in place, but for us that do care it would be so comforting to know that my pictures cannot be copied, or shared by anyone and can't be even seen by anyone who isn't a friend! I love to share my family events with those I love and with Facebook it's so easy but I worry so much about who can see my pictures through friends pages or by someone that may choose to stalk my page! I keep all settings as private as possible and instead if helping to protect our children and private family photos Facebook is doing the opposite by getting rid of more and more private settings!!! Facebook would get 10 stars in my book if they could make these simple changes that people like me could have the option to make our private life more private!!! There are tons of good people is this world and just as many bad! Child predators, people who steal your photos for fake profiles, people looking for personal information to steal identities, and so many more!! Please fix our Facebook so we can make our stuff more private and feel more secure!!! Not the other way around!!!
What are you talking about???
by Jazarrr on 2012/08/26 20:02
I have no clue what some people are talking about when it comes to some features. You can still save pics.. Just tap and hold the pic. You can still share pics... There is a little icon by the comment and and like buttons. You can search for people other than your friends and the search is much faster than before... Just type a random name and see. You can still delete posts by swiping them sideways. You can set profile pics... Just tap and hold and of your pics or one you're tagged in. You can update existing albums... Just go to album and tap the + in the upper right corner. You lose out on landscape view, but I dont know anyone who actually uses it. You can't update cover pic... But that makes sense because uploading a cover pic on your phone looks COMPLETELY different from when you update from PC. You lose out on being able to tag existing photos but you can tag any new photos you add. App is much faster. Pics are much better and faster to load. New gestures are very nice. You can leave conversations in your inbox (I love that they enabled that... Don't you hate it when someone adds you to some useless convo you don't wanna be in and you couldnt removed yourself till you got home?!). I'd say this is my favorite update thus far. The gain certainly outweighs the loss.
Posting to a friend's wall
by KCMadson on 2013/09/26 16:03
Is it just me or is anyone else having to go through six steps to be able to get to a friend's timeline to post on their wall?? I have no "Friends" list or icon other than by swiping the screen to the left. Then, when I do and find their name and touch it it takes me straight to the Messages screen vice their timeline. If I want to post to their wall I have to touch on their name at the top of the message screen which then tells me about them then I have to touch "More" to get the "View Timeline" option to pop up. Then I have to touch "View Timeline." Wow, finally to their wall! But, lets not forget, there is still one more step before finally being able post something...having to touch "Write Post" (which obviously is no different than before.) But what a pain!! Am I missing something? I realize I am still only operating on iOS6.2 but geez!! I have a handful of navigational icons at the bottom of the Newsfeed screen but none of them say "Friends" or "View a Timeline." Would rather have that than the "More" icon in that row!! Oh, and the other annoyance? ...after going through all those steps, when you're done and go back to the Newsfeed, the picture bubble of the person who's wall you just posted on is now on your screen. You have to do yet one more thing and slide their bubble to the bottom of your screen to make it disappear!! Frustrating!! Either tell me how to accomplish this with minimal steps like before or PLEASE FIX it!
Title
by Nickname17238893215 on 2014/06/24 20:08
This app has been making me very angry. Every time that I get on Facebook through this app, it will randomly go to my home screen. I can't use links because it does the same thing when I click on them. I don't enjoy having to scroll through my newsfeed over again to get to more posts when the app quits on me. Game requests- they are horrible. If I had any interest in playing them, I would have started playing them hundreds of game requests ago. I disabled many of the games I could be notified for, but I am not able to disable them all. Another thing that I dislike is other people liking things and what they liked showing up on my newsfeed. I really don't care if they liked some stupid Teenager Post that I have already seen ten times. Also, I dislike how the chat is set up on the app. Instead of saying which users are currently on Facebook, I have a favorites list. The thing with that list is, it is not based off of how often I message them. I would like to see which users are currently on Facebook, not a random list of people that are not. However, I do like Facebook, I just don't like the Facebook app. The website is amazing on a laptop, just not on most mobile devices. If I were to rate Facebook as a website and not an app, I would give it a higher rating. The app needs a lot of work. The creators of Facebook have almost perfected the website, but haven't perfected the app.
Keeps getting worse
by Thot_Killer7 on 2014/08/11 10:17
I have recently gotten my Facebook hacked and I'm sure it's not the last. I wanted to send my best friend a message on how to help me since I have never gotten hacked but I couldn't because I had to download the stupid Messenger app. I downloaded it. And then I saw my messages blow up and saw that my angry friends were telling me that they have received spam on comments and really weird messages from me that I have never sent. I told them I got hacked and told me it was ok. Then I messaged my friend and he told me to change my password which I did. Then I see that 2 people accepted friend requests I did not send. Then I checked that my hacker had sent over 100 friend requests!!! I had to delete them all and I got a notification that I got blocked from sending requests for a few weeks. Really?!?! I was already having a stressful day and I had to deal with this. The stupid hacker could have read all my messages and private things. Please fix with an antivirus or something like that to prevent future hacks. Another problem I have is with the messenger app. I don't want to download it but now it's MANDATORY to download it. I never had a problem with it as I used a tablet in the past and I would use the chat heads, no problem but I got a new iPod and it won't let me use chat heads. The chat heads were easier as I could stay on the Facebook app and still send messages. I don't want to go from Facebook to another app just to read my messages. Again please fix
Facebook review
by Holiday417 on 2013/02/20 03:56
I am extremely happy to have the Facebook app for on the go. It lets me view most everything. That is one problem, there are some things that do not show up on my news feed on my phone. I don't even know they are there unless I log on using a computer. Examples being birthday notifications and event invitations. Events cannot be made on this feature either. Nor can i modify or delete comments made by other people on anything on my timeline. This can be rather frustrating as people do not always post/comment things I want everyone to see, or that I care to see. Profile pictures cannot be changed on this app. And I'm not sure if it actual Facebook or my phone but I cannot turn my pone sideways to get a wider screen or keypad and I find it extremely frustrating to type on even smaller letters. And one general frustration with Facebook is the news feeds no longer show up in order. I can have a post from 3 days ago and then "just now" and then 3 minutes ago. No apparent order to how they show up. I am pleased with simplicity of adding photos with this app though. Also, upon reading other reviews I have realized the slowing down of the app must be the app itself. This is very frustrating a I cannot view pics or enlarge posts often. I thought it was my Internet, but given he common complaint i see that is not the case.
Some helpful suggestions
by Marisa HB on 2013/06/27 19:32
Easy to use, intuitive, convenient. The couple of areas I would improve upon would be: When a picture is uploaded it is not automatically made public. It's a huge bother to have to remember to go back & change the privacy settings on every single pic individually. I would suggest having an option in Privacy Settings where you can set a default of who can see any pic you upload, then if you wish to modify that, you can. Secondarily, I've noticed that on the mobile FB app you don't have the ability to delete a post. It would be nice to be able to do that. Thirdly, it would be great to be able to edit a status, rather than having to delete & repost. This is especially disappointing when the status already has likes & shares, because those are lost. Lastly, it would be a convenient upgrade if it were possible to add pics to an already posted status. Maybe a button named "add pics" or just use the existing pic icon. For instance, if you posted a status saying you we're somewhere or doing something, and then later on had some pics of that place or activity, it would be great to be able to upload those pics to that status as opposed to creating a new status to post the pics in. Thank you for reading/considering my feedback. :)
If I could give zero stars I would
by Tsurratt on 2014/12/02 11:12
This app, in all honesty, deserves at least three, maybe four stars. However, with the multitude of problems that users have with the management of the app from the removal of messages, the attempts to force a second app on us, the near removal of the most recent feature, and horrible loading and freezing times, I think that it's obvious what's going on. Ever since facebook went public, the company and its product has gotten worse and worse. Pages that have nothing wrong with them are flagged and blocked because some people don't like the message. Ads are everywhere, and facebook decided that ad space is more important than friend updates. This is no longer a social media site; its a social experimentation site. Facebook has been caught experimenting on users through newsfeed manipulation before, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what all of this nonsense is. The problems that everyone has are easily circumvented, but it's a waste of time and space. Forcing people into a message app is an attempt to create more revenue. Removing the most recent and assaulting users with ads is an attempt to create revenue. I guarantee you mark zuckerberg doesn't use this app; he probably has the app we all want this one to be. As soon as another social media site comes out with the same features, and it will be soon, Facebook will start down the same road MySpace and the chat rooms from the old days went: into the archives.
Jumping the gun
by Stone Temple Pilot on 2013/07/15 02:42
It's a little slow to update when you re-open it on an iPad. I can't really use it at all on my phone, which is a Droid. It's still okay on my laptop. It would be nice if the interfaces were the same or at least a lot more similar to each other between devices, because some things I can do with the app on my phone (when it worked, anyway) I can't do with the iPad or laptop, and vice versa. Also, the only way to get rid of the number of "Close Friend" updates, I have to open the list with my laptop. I can see the list with my phone and iPad, but it doesn't "count" that I looked at it so it will still say I have X amount of updates I haven't seen. It's a crapshoot to look to see if there really is something new on there or not, plus the list doesn't refresh very well. The "chat heads" don't appear while I'm using another app on my iPad, nor do they hang around on the home screen until dismissed, so I have no idea I have a message until it's too late (I read on my iPad and nothing happens to notify me if I have a new message). Basically, Facebook seems to be adding all sorts of new things, but not making sure that whatever new option they made works and syncs across all platforms before throwing it out there. There should also be more games from Facebook available as apps that sync between devices like Candy Crush Saga and Bubble Witch Saga. Those are the only two that I know of that can synchronize progress between devices.
FB new update
by Miasavlei on 2014/12/20 00:05
I use FB daily usually & for the most part I enjoy it. I have a few issues with the constant blocking me from friend requesting just because a couple people may say they don't know me since you give them that option now so you think I'm spamming. Ridiculous! & block me from FB altogether sometimes & you say it's for 30 days but it ends up being closer to 60 or more. & if I choose to deactivate my account temporarily, you delete my photo album & other criteria & I struggle to get it all back again. & other glitches in your imperfect system. But regarding the new update, there are pros & cons, mainly sometimes it won't let you create a new photo album & upload to it. Sometimes it won't let you delete comments on threads. It won't let you do much of what you could before. The only positive thing I can say about it is that it gives you the option to speed back up to top to new posts in newsfeed & speed down to new comments on threads. Though you slide around too much viewing pics. Personally, my main complaint is that it won't let me see 'most recent' posts. Instead, it shows in my newsfeed what FB thinks I want to see. In turn, I miss tons of my friend's posts. I have to go to their page to see their activity. Just show us everyone, not just some people! More cons than pros but hey, FB is free huh? For now anyway. Peace!
It works, mostly.
by foold on 2011/05/20 00:38
For starters let me say that when the Facebook app works, it works well. With the small exception of not being able to tag people in posts (a feature that would be a GREAT addition) you can do most everything else that you could do on a regular computer. However, it only works 60% of the time. If its not being slow, laggy, or otherwise unresponsive, its randomly logging you out (and I do stress RANDOMLY, I can find no pattern in the log outs). Getting back in is just as difficult, involving quitting the app via the quick switch menu accessed by double tapping the home button, but only AFTER you have typed in your information and waited at least 10 seconds to make sure you don't receive the all to frequent "try again later" message. The notification system is poor at best, showing some notifications but not others. Looking at, and commenting on photos is a nightmare, don't even bother using the app for that. The one redeeming feature that makes the app worthwhile is the creepy-if-you-think-about-it-too-hard "check in" system, which works fairly well. For all it's flaws, however, the app remains superior to trying to use the iPhone browser, and in the end it IS a free app. If I were paying for it, I'd be outraged. But I'm not, so I'm not. I can only hope that they fix the bugs in the system especially the relatively recent one of randomly logging out.
New and recurring problems with every update
by Nefretari2 on 2012/04/14 00:37
With every update I keep hoping that it will get better, but I am consistently disappointed. The latest update, 4.1.1, is terrible! I get notification indicators, but I can't see my notifications, it's incredibly slow, and keeps crashing. I should not have to keep logging out then back in to make it work. I also should not have to keep deleting and reinstalling all the time either. Another complaint that I have has to do with the sorting of my newsfeed (all updates since the introduction of Timeline).I like seeing my friends' most recent posts, which is why I dislike that the default sort is Top Stories. I follow some news pages, and with the sort defaulting to Top Stories the post that I really care about, those posted by my friends, are buried way down at the bottom of my feed. I would prefer the default to be Most Recent, with the option to choose Top Stories. Especially since the app tends to freeze or crash before I can't scroll down to what I find important. I DON'T NEED FACEBOOK TO TELL ME WHAT'S IMPORTANT! I know what's important to me, and no matter how complicated of an algorithm is written, it will never be able to intuit that. I understand that this is a free app for a free site, but honestly, I would be willing to pay a couple of bucks for the app if it meant that the product was reliable and bug free. I also know that no one at Facebook will actually read this, but one can always hope.
Ok but needs some work
by fireflyhmk on 2012/11/17 16:57
There are several things going awry with this app. I have to go between the app and safari to get things done. It typically works better from safari for most things. There are such inconsistency's between the two. The app should be up to date and super awesome compared to the mobile site version. Some things I can recall are... The newsfeed isn't always up to date not to mention you can't stop following someone from your phone. As well it seems to zone in on the same ppl. Out of all my friends why do I only get to see a handful of them? I've missed engagements, births etc. Fb should reclassify what qualifies for "important". Picture tagging doesn't work. Events are a disaster. If you RSVP no, you can't write a post any longer. You can't share events with friends most times and it won't let you add invitees for events. Pretty sure you can't create an event from your phone unless using safari. (I get confused which one will do what!) and you aren't able to change the event picture at all. Also I think there should be a way to add event to your calendar. (google calendar would be great) Can't delete or edit post from app, have to go to safari for that. I don't have issues with it crashing as others have mentioned. Functions fine just has some user friendly things that would be helpful if improved.

ok it is good a little different than website and in a bad way website better but the app is still good but needs an update and I prefer the website I think you will because te website is way better and easier to use but if you are always on the go and just need to see what your friends are up to then this app is great but I think the app should use an update because can take a wile to load but with the latest update it has been a lot faster when loading but the app should be updated so if u are always at home use the website if u r always on the go the app will be fine I am giving it three stars because the website is better an this app can take some time to load but as I said with the latest update it is a lot faster than before but if u don't want to go through the trouble of looking up Facebook or something than this app is perfect oh and FYI Facebook is so last year if you want to be hip and cool get instagram it has never crashed on me and loads right away so check out instagram or twitter celebrities aren't on Facebook or never post so if all u want to do is keep track of celebrities then go on twitter which is kinda 6 months ago and instagram is def in and hip celebs are on both but NOT Facebook for all of u who read my review thank you I know it's long but at least it tells u what's in and what's out
Disappointed but hopeful

I find it annoying that I am limited to Like and Comment, instead of being able to share pictures and statuses. Also I don't like that the feed is random rather than chronological. I think I preferred just going through the Internet, rather than the iPad app for Facebook. Well, FB asked me to rate it, but it already had this comment before I started. (It may be a comment I made sometime ago!) I do find that they have improved some opportunities to share, but it seems to be random. I prefer chronological and I do prefer making my own choices from a set selection. Still haven't figured out the privacy settings, too many questionable hoops to jump through. FB is such a big endeavor, I guess they are still sorting and developing. Categorizations: the Encouragers, the Crazies, the Lonely, the Moms trying to keep up with their families' lives, the Networkers, the Scalpers, the Wicked, the curious, and the bored kids. Love is needed, and I am thinking that only the perfect love of Jesus will do! Thanks FB for inventing this social media, trusting that you will keep improving! I think that the FB iPad app has improved, but keep working, because the iPad is fun, yet addictive. I never dreamed I could be a techie at 65. :-)

When there's an app (or 2 or 3 or 5) to access FB mobile, it might be a clue that brings to mind the Mother of Invention. "Quickly" allows you to change your header (but can't access photos from your mobile device). Then there's messenger, etc. Yeah, FB is fine, it's fun, but the app is soooo slow! I've yet to find info on how to make it faster. It's usually the app and very inconsistent. 1/6 of the time it's great. Not a good average in a world that asking us to move at light speed. I've finally started to explore Google+. It's geared more for adults. That said, 5 years in, I'll always love FB. Finally, my greatest concern is the lack of privacy. When you read mainstream articles about FB co-owners skipping town over taxes owed, or the gathering of personal info and trends, and when you you hear that employers are demanding your FB password, it tells you your living in a very creepy world. Marks great, and incredibly generous and a friend to the right side of history, so I do appreciate this powerhouse being socially responsible. However, anyone that thought FB was worth even 25% of what it went public for is an astronomical idiot. And please don't get me started in Billion Dollar Baby, INSTAGRAM. They alleged they don't technically own everything you post, but why else buy an app that filters are being mimicked left and right? Frankly in surprised Getry Images hasn't bought the lot. Signed, The Village Idiot.
Love my Facebook
by Wanda-hoondi hoonda-wandi on 2013/01/01 02:33
I am an original user... Signed up when it first came out to keep in touch with my friends overseas. It was great. We had used many formats to try to accomplish this. None had lasted or if they have, they weren't effective at keeping us in contact. Fb has been awesome. Then, just when I had found all the friends I thought possible, I came across an old school friend. It was like winning the lottery. Through this one friend, I found a jackpot of friends from long ago, and got to see how people were doing as well as their families. By this time Fb was on the move and people were signing up left and right. I found a whole new group of overseas friends who hadn't been on Fb originally. Then, alas, this last election season, I was able to meet people who share my ideas and have similar thoughts and take action on them. It's very exciting. I think the privacy is excellent! Children are not allowed, and when they get onto fb, their parents almost always know (which makes it a bad parent issue, not an Internet issue). I hope I have made my point. I hope Fb lasts. We love the free games, love the sharing of pics, status, bdays, it's better than sending emails. Thank u Zuck, I think you are doing fine.
Copy/paste, better integration with other apps needed
by Li'l Bob on 2009/09/05 11:26
This app keeps getting better, and the new OS 3.0 version is great... But why the heck does it not support copy and paste? Of course, the only reason it really needs copy/paste in the first place is that the app is so weak at smartly integrating with other apps. Sure, AIM addresses open the AIM app if you have it, but this kind of functionality could be WAY extended. What about recognizing phone numbers and addresses, and if not automatically adding them to iPhone contacts, then at least making them links as in the 3.0 version on the native Notes app. For iPod touch users like me, this would be especially helpful, as we cannot call a number from FB, and would often like to add it to the appropriate contact. Of course this should work for any number posted anywhere, not just the ones people list on their profiles in the phone number field. Likewise a click and hold on addresses should offer to add them to both contacts and Maps bookmarked places, and a single tap should open the address in Maps. FB is such a basic application (it's in my dock and I use it every hour or so) that it really should be up to speed with the kind of intuitive, helpful way most other iPhone apps play well together. Thanks, FB team.

Connection problems
by 15090Nancy on 2015/09/01 11:58

Trending topics update
by Christie<3 on 2015/08/31 23:36
The new trending topics layout is terrible!!! Who thought it was a good idea to make it so you can't see the whole title anymore? You see about five words and can't even get an idea of what the topic is about. The new font of it is okay, but change it back so you can read the whole topic!

Ok so I downloaded this so I would have to keep going to my web browser to check on messages and stuff. I tried to look at a message someone sent me on the app but then..oh wait I have to download messenger AND the Facebook app -_- this is by far the stupidest "feature" I have ever seen. Just put messenger and Facebook in one simple app and I'll be happy.

by AshMarBurg on 2015/08/31 22:57
It is shocking to me how often the FB app freezes, completely shuts down and fails, can't load videos or photos, etc. 90% of the time the app works so poorly that I just give up on even getting on. It's amazing to me that a technology driven company could have such a poorly working app.

Simple.

That being said, according to my battery usage, 33% is Facebook (background) How is it that an app I'm not using and isn't supposed to run in the background is using a third of my power consumption.

by Newyorkbitxh on 2015/08/31 13:09
Where do I begin? Each update is worse than the last. Facebook drains about 70% of my phone battery WHEN IM NOT USING IT...... Facebook is always slow. It's also very disorganized. I ended up deleting the app......so yeah
Newest update is horrible 8-31-2015

Not cool

Crash, Bang, Boom
by Ixzaiana Rose on 2015/08/31 06:00
Ever since the most recent update the app crashes constantly. I'll be reading a post or watching a video & the app just closes. I'll try to open it again & starts to open then closes immediately. I can't write a status update or comment on a friend's post because the app won't stay open long enough. This didn't fix bugs. It created them.

Im sure there are prolly more things that i am missing but i havent come across any
Version 3.4
by Zylluh on 2011/04/18 22:19
This update is terrible the app is very laggy and it crashes frequently.

After resisting updating the app for a while...
by bphing on 2013/07/30 18:04
..I finally caved.
Let Freedom Ring! ...or shut it down.
by DEA3872 on 2013/02/14 15:00
You asked for a review so don't get mad if your chastised.

Some good additions, some bad changes
by CoryD81 on 2013/04/30 23:36
First of all I like the new format of the news feed and being able to select different feeds from the top of the screen and the new chat heads on the iPhone are nice, but I have had more random crashes than ever before-even on initial startup, but also performing other simple functions requiring a change or refresh of the page. Overall I like the news feed and how this works with friends, but I'm extremely disappointed with how 'pages' show up now and the lack of features and ability to see the entire content of them
I like it.
by baayyliee on 2011/10/12 17:33
I had a horrible time downloading the update. first the app wouldn't load, so I restarted my iPod. that didn't work, so I deleted & reinstalled the app. still wasn't working so I restarted my iPod again. that time my ipod froze on the apple logo & I had to restore it >.< I think part of the freezing was my fault though, as I was really running out of space & may have not had enough for the update. anyways, the new interface is nice though I don't understand why one section is called "favorites" when I can't change them myself.
Mostly Useful
by Tari Mannello on 2013/03/12 23:41
How is it possible that with an iPhone 5 and LTE and wifi and 100 megabits per second download speeds the Facebook app still sometimes takes 30 seconds to load a photograph?
