Please add a way to disable daily goals
by Tiann66 on 2019/05/25 23:58
I love this game, because much of it is old-school FreeCell, with the ability of playing both random games and numbered games. However, I have no intention of playing it daily. I have daily goals for Spanish, not for solitaire. Please give us a way to totally turn daily goals off. I’ll bump it back up to five stars when you do.

I left a one star review (see below). Mobilityware was kind enough to respond with information including the fact that they do have a paid ad free version. I was puzzled because I couldn’t find it in the App Store. I had recently switched to a different iPad which I set up manually. The problem was user error and I am that user. All I can say is it would be helpful if the icon or the text made clearer the differences between the paid and unpaid versions. Thanks Mobilityware. I am glad to be able to play the daily challenges without ads. May 15 one star review:I have used Freecell, Spider, Solitare and Jig Saw Puzzles from Mobilityware for several years. I love them all. The latest update to Freecell has video ads which MUST be watched to get to the game. That is unacceptable to me. I would much rather pay for games to get the option of no ads. To demonstrate that, I just paid over $5 for Brainium’s Freecell without ads. Mobilityware, please let me know if/when you give an option to pay for ad free software.

Needs a couple of tweaks
by Stratslinger on 2019/02/26 00:05
Needs a couple of tweaks 1. Automatically moving cards to the left most stack instead of the highest card in a column is dumb. If a column has a king high that is where the move should go to. 2. Useless cards should be moved to the stacks without having to tap them. Could save some carpal tunnel surgeries. 3. Undo should not count as a move because it is far too easy to make a mistake when playing on a small screen. All of these suggestions can be offered as settings options.

Undo completes goals
by av8r.sco on 2019/01/30 14:50
I’m on level 483. I have found that if I have certain goals(move 2 in 25 moves, move 8 in 50 moves, etc) and I do several undos, the game will say I completed those goals. I love the game, but that seems like I am unintentionally cheating.

I think who ever redesigned this game didn’t think about who realistically spends the most time playing. Not children . So why ruin what was so good, and make it so your biggest fans don’t enjoy game anymore. Big fail. I’m going to find another FreeCell to enjoy.

update is bad!
by asmile518 on 2018/12/22 11:47
Before the update I was spending an absurd amount of time daily playing this game, however the new interface is so clunky, I haven't played it in weeks. I do not like it at all and wish every aspect of the interface, from the card size to the list of game play options, to the hints/suggestions/“no available moves” notifications, could revert to what it used to be.

Frustrating
by Murcielogo on 2018/12/10 18:25
This version is programmed to always may the dumbest move when given a choice. Many of the goals require playing badly. New fastest time and new least moves should always be rewarded.
Annoying ‘enhancements’
by Camilla and Mac on 2018/12/10 06:15
The last update added layers of screens and comments that make playing annoying. Having cutesy little labels at the top like ‘ace digger’ or ‘suit sequencer’ adds nothing but seconds to play. And the startup screen implies internet connection is necessary. Why? To track my other on-line behavior? Deleting. Will not buy any other games from this developer.

by Ma179 on 2018/11/28 22:11
I’m not happy with the new version. The system clock is missing which I used frequently. I travel frequently in an RV. While riding down the road I could play free cell with no problem. With the new version it won’t load properly and crashes in the middle of a game when finally does load. If you’re going to put a new version out without leaving the old version available to use you should at least test it for problems. An unhappy camper.

Space Cardet? Really?
by Msellert on 2018/11/24 12:16
The new titles are just dreadful. On the one hand, I don’t know which is worse- not being able to see what’s coming next, or the disappointment when I achieve it. Not much of an incentive. Free Cell has always been one of my favorite games, but I think I need to look for one with fewer bells and whistles, the game itself is enough. Leave this one to the younger set.

Ruined
by MrDLoomis on 2018/11/21 15:50
Thank you very much for destroying one of my favorite games. Which high school computer class did you hire to design this terrible “update”? The game used to be fast, smooth, and bug-free. Now it’s slow, clunky, and includes childlike animations and even spelling errors! (It is, “one minute”, not “one minutes” in the goals). An absolutely disgusting mess. Using the word, “update” to describe it is an insult to all good updates. Why did you fix what wasn’t broken? Update: And now the points earned aren accurate. Update: It appears that shills are leaving 4 and 5 star reviews now which contrast sharply with the bad reviews of the update. Hmmm.

by Inkartinc on 2018/11/19 16:36
This is the best one I’ve found. I finally bought it. The free version had irritating ads. I put up with it for a while until I got tired enough to pay for the ad free version. It’s worth to me. Update: this “was” my favorite game for various reasons. My go to game. But then they did an update. I didn’t mind some of the changes. Though it was irritating to go in and have to reset up my preferences. But with this new version I lost what made this my go to game over the others. It filled the screen, taking away the time and battery level at the top. That’s why I played this game over others. I could keep track of both easily. With that gone, I am now playing something else during times I need to keep track. Too bad, it’s becoming less and less attractive for me.

Free cell review
by statsmatter on 2018/11/17 12:49
I have been playing free cell for about 15 years so you may conclude that I like to play. Recently the game has been given another overhaul which included that removal of the statistics section which included the number of games won and lost by a player. This information was important to me as I have played in the area of 50,000 games and enjoyed checking my statistics from time to time. People, if it’s not broken why fix it? Regarding the game itself my comment is that after playing for a period of time the player knows how the game will play in specific situations. It is not like playing with a human who has the ability to think what your play means.

Please bring back unlimited goal skips!
by SeanB. on 2018/11/15 03:42
I see there was a new update today, but I don’t see any options to set how the goal skips work. I purchased this game because I enjoyed playing the demo, now I’m unhappy with how this new update has changed the game. Please add the option back!!! Edit: Thanks for adding goal skips back! One last request- can you add the ability to skip or speed up end game animations by tapping the screen? The current animations seem slower than the previous version. Also, can you make longer stacks resize so they don’t go below/behind the bottom menu bar? Thanks for the updates!
I hate the update!
by Ddsterrett on 2018/11/14 20:11
Please bring the former, pre-updated version back. The daily goals were so much better. The whole visual thing just got stupid looking. Looks like you market it to 5 year-olds. And the thing I absolutely hate the most is you took away the ability to play quickest way possible. I can double tap a card and instead of going to the foundation row where it belongs, I have the “option” of tableau or Free Cell, and I don’t want either of those options. It costs time and loses points! I really hate the update!
“Elegant” They Say? Hmmmm
by John_From_Rochester on 2018/11/14 09:53
The 5.0.2 update user interface is not “elegant”, as stated in the app upgrade info box - at least not to my tastes in a user interface. The sharp, crisp design of the previous version was superior. The “blockiness” of the current version has a look seen in games designed for the very young. Sacrificed in this disappointing “upgrade” is the system clock in the top area of the screen above the playing board. That omission is just dumb... but necessary with the designers’ penchant for a game experience most appreciated by a child of 5 years old. Another “annoyance”... The poorly considered change in how the cards are “flushed” to the home piles when all the cards have been revealed in a low to high arrangement.

by Steveo0752 on 2018/11/13 02:13
I've played this on older desktops as well as the Kindle tablet; and the quality is much better on an iPad. This is a game my parents taught me when I was 8 years old (to help me work on basic math and detail matching.). Update November 2018: graphic enhancements are nice, but a little distracting. Still give this game a 5-Star rating.

I don’t usually give 5 stars...
by 6stringslingr on 2018/06/18 12:37
...but this game is simply awesome. I have improved greatly and I win much more often now because the game is engaging and entertaining. I love the fact that you can customize the background and card backs. The game controls are intuitive and easy to master, yet they also are comprehensive and don’t hinder the gameplay in their simplicity. I find the animations are a nice little reward when I win. I do have one small bit of feedback, though. I have made it to Grand Master level and every time I fill up the points bar, it shows a badge icon like there’s another title above Grand Master. There isn’t. I still love being able to see my points total, but I could do without having to clear that badge icon every couple of days. Like I said it’s a small bit, certainly not worth deducting a star, but worth looking into I think. Thanks for the years of great games and keep them coming!

Yes - I like the visuals, the additions of goals to achieve, and the graphics with the update. Mobilityware continues to please with this version of Freecell! Great graphics, player options that put you in control of the game, and the Daily Challenge. I'll be looking for other game apps from this team in days to come. Now, Mobilityware, your challenge is do similar updates to your other solitaire games such as Pyramid and TriPeaks. Why not add a new solitaire game while you're at it?!

by Inkartinc on 2018/11/19 16:36
This is the best one I’ve found.
Good game but with issues
by rbth3 on 2018/09/14 19:49
I enjoy playing this version of freecell, but have found two issues that are irritating. First, there is great emphasis on goals and striving to achieve new levels. That’s not why I play solitaire. I play solitaire to relax. I wish I could turn off all the flashing notifications and just enjoy the game. The other issue is this. I like to play winnable games. On a recent flight to Alaska, I tried to play and was told that the “winnable game” option was only available when connected to WIFI. WHAT???!!! I travel a lot internationally, and am often out of WIFI range! Why can’t they include a selection of winable games that can be available offline? If these two issues were corrected, I would gladly give this game 5 stars.
Finally Ad Free
by Secret Sambra on 2018/10/22 12:52
I enjoy playing free cell with MobilityWare. I've suffered through the ads that were, frankly, becoming increasingly intrusive, holding my enjoyment of the game hostage. I finally decided to buy the game for $4.99 and I am so glad that I did. No more ads are popping up. Hallelujah! I love the daily goals, which wasn't available in other versions. The game works faster in the purchased version. For the price of one visit to Starbucks, I am released from the bondage of advertising.
I love the game, I hate the ads, I hate the animations
by Cyndi25 on 2018/03/07 23:55
I’m happy to pay for an app. If I pay, don’t show me the ads. There’s an app that is in the pop cube type. It has a red, manicured, obviously fake finger popping the cubes. I have it timed now, so I don’t have to look at the screen to know when the X is coming on to close the friggin ad. Sometimes I think that if I have to look at that finger once more, I am going to scream. I’ve unchecked everything I can find to get rid of the animated cards that show up when you win a game. They make me nauseous. They twist, bend, turn and I honestly get sick to my stomach. I guess I’m going to have to find another free cell, pay to not have the ads, and get rid of Mobilityware. The game is fun. The rest is not. If you like the game, don’t buy this app. Find another one that doesn’t have a red finger.
Fantastic!!!!
by Highwindaloft on 2017/01/07 17:01
This version of Free cell has turned itself into a MONSTER game with it's new revamping to a graduated difficulty format. Previous, I have always clumped along winning some and losing a lot of others. Now the graduated system is actually training me by offering me increasingly difficult games. I am now able to develop my skills while solving increasingly difficult games. And I am winning, winning, winning!! What a fantastic version this has become.
Still Good, but update was not needed
by JonnyRod on 2016/12/24 15:05
I still like this game and play it regularly, but the update seems more targeted at "monetizing" the app as opposed to providing a better user experience. Here's changes that would improve the latter: 1. Ending animations, after a win, that are tied to how well you did, and are better and more interesting the better you did in the game. Gives you something to shoot for. 2. Something that indicates the difficulty level of a board. 3. Merging 1 and 2 above such that a great game on a higher difficulty board produces a super animation at the end. 4. Adding a setting that allows you to turn the prompt asking whether to auto-finish or not off, and to automatically auto-finish at that point. 5. Adding a history/save function so you can see the game codes and scores/times of the games you've played, and replay any you wish to.
Don't Like the NEW Version
by Vett8 on 2017/02/28 21:52
I don't like the new update for a couple of reasons but I still like MobilityWare better than the Microsoft PC games. I really don't like the panel at the bottom of the screen. It's not as easy to check Statistics and I don't like the design/graphics. I also don't like it when you back out of the game and when you return you can't use Undo without the timer starting again. That was my way of 'cheating' before. ;)
My favorite app of all time!
by ruvigr on 2017/01/19 06:30
My wife and I play the same deal against each other, (Best score, scores a point, if you don't complete the game opponent gets two points). This game is the best! We used to play it while she was in the Philippines and I was in the US. Just a fantastic app! Thank you. I liked it so much, I paid to remove the ads, I think it was only $1.00? What a value! Keep up the good work!
Happy with 2016 Updates
by LinS1009 on 2017/01/03 14:33
I play this game daily and love the update that allows the next sequential game to load automatically without having to keep track and enter the number manually--hooray! The display is visually pleasing but I am not interested in the "reward". Just show my score and load the next game. Knowing the difficulty level would be fun as well as having the "You Won" animation be linked to that level of difficulty. I haven't encountered any problems with the new version (December 2016).
This Free Cell The best yet
by Mbarker4 on 2017/03/28 23:00
I've been playing free cell for several years, finally got so sick & tired of ads , that I made the move to purchase this version, no ads no interruption. I'm so thrilled to bring up a game and completely absorb my self to beat the game. I think the only improvement would be to give stats on a game that I fail to beat ,how many people have beaten and in what amount of time. Beating a game in less than minute, very difficult.
Great app with exceptional customer support!
by CarpeLanam111 on 2017/06/08 12:11
I am having fun with this app, for me it is a happy combination of the game I enjoy with the level of automation that I want, thanks to their many Settings options. Their customer support is exceptional: they replied quickly and with all the information clearly presented so that my issue could be resolved. Am I a fan of this app and the team behind it -- you bet!
Great update
by skeeter gray on 2017/01/06 04:26
I'm loving the new update! I like the challenges. I also like that you can play consecutive games and it will keep count for you. I started some time back with game 1 and have been playing consecutively since then. Sometimes I would lose count and have to try to remember the ballpark number of the game I was on. The new update keeps track for me! Well done!
New Version
by Ma179 on 2018/11/28 22:11
I’m not happy with the new version.
Great Ap!
by Jody4870 on 2017/02/09 02:16
I've always liked freecell. After trying several of the free versions it became clear to me that paying the small price for this ap would be worthwhile. So far it had worked flawlessly. Play every day, no crashes or glitches. Watch out for the "tap to move" - if there are more than one possible places to move to it usually picks the least advantageous play, costing you an additional move.
A great game
by RevKev55 on 2018/07/30 11:56
This is my favorite game. I’ll go to it a few times a day when I’m ready for a short break or while listening to something. It’s well designed, with extra challenges to help keep it interesting. I like the option to choose winning deals so I don’t give up too easily. If I don’t win on the first attempt, I know I need to keep trying.
Mobility's Free Cell is excellent!
by ReviewAHolic2 on 2016/12/22 22:48
You can not get a better game for your phone. In this version you can select any game by number. That way, when you find one that is really hard you can share your data with a friend for comparison. The new version is a little more glitzy than the old one, but it is basically the same solid programming.
Changes to Free Cell App
by Rainbow Pearl on 2017/01/13 06:18
This was one of my favorite card games until the recent changes made to the game. I am extremely disappointed in the changes and would give 5 stars just to have it restored to the way it was. It is annoying to constantly be asked what level I want to be on or the stupid new point system. Don't fix it when it's not broke. This game used to be relaxing, but not anymore. I will not recommend this game to anymore of my friends. I hope you will fix this and stop the annoying games that pop up after each completed play. I
Previous Version Superior
by RETIRED AT LAST on 2016/12/27 19:38
I played the previous version of FreeCell for a long time and several thousand games. I enjoyed the challenge. This new version adds nothing of importance only confusion and pretty graphics. Whatever it cost to prepare was WASTED MONEY. I totally ignore the experience stuff. I don't understand what improvement it provides to the basic game.
One thing I don't like.
by Hefto on 2017/06/15 15:31
This is a best in class FreeCell game, which I enjoy enough to have paid the $4.99 for the ad-free version. My only complaint is that it requires an internet connection to start a new game unless you pick a random deal instead of a winning deal. I did not expect that when I bought ad-free version. I travel often enough on planes and/or no coverage areas that this is a real annoyance.
Always a good game...Even Better on an iPad!
by Steveo0752 on 2018/11/13 02:13
I've played this on older desktops as well as the Kindle tablet; and the quality is much better on an iPad. This is a game my parents taught me when I was 8 years old (to help me work on basic math and detail matching.). Update November 2018: graphic enhancements are nice, but a little distracting. Still give this game a 5-Star rating.
Free Cell the best
by Peggy Cary on 2017/06/10 04:35
I have been playing Free Cell for years and I never seem to grow tired of it. I usually play 3 games, and the other two are replaced after a while (right now they are Spider and Algerian Patience). Free Cell remains my favorite, always fun and challenging to (okay, 😂 sometimes a little frustrating - i can't win them all!)
November update disappoints. Don’t update.
by Apple~Jack on 2018/11/06 14:00
Beware, there’s a BIG change that’s not in the new description! I used to use the three daily goals to encourage me to become a better player. They could be changed many times until I found goals that met my playing ability. Now, the game limits me to making only three changes per day. Most of the goals are way over my head, so I have to settle for unattainable goals. Basically, this means I can’t enjoy the entire experience of reaching a goal I set for myself ... so I don’t try anymore. PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS BEFORE.
One of my favorite games
by H2forAll on 2016/12/30 20:30
I play this game for relaxation. When I choose "Winning Deal", I know that it can be solved and the challenge is to find the best way. It is also fun to get a high score. Getting high scores requires playing the same game multiple times until I find the quickest way to win it. Try the game. It is fun.
The best!!!
by Chebyshev13245 on 2016/12/26 02:32
This app is an absolutely superb production, in the way it displays, in the extremely ingenious graphics. I have this game in the "solitaire till dawn" version on my Mac, and that is also an extraordinary piece of software. In certain respects, I like this app better, particularly in the way it suggests on an ongoing basis the movements that can be made. Great piece of work.
Update
by BeagleLuvr on 2016/12/29 07:17
I do like some of the new things in the update, but dislike others. I would really like to see something that indicates the difficulty level of each deal, as well as your ID mentioned if you get a new low # of moves in a deal. Too much weight is given to how fast a deal is solved, and how strategically it is done is completely ignored.
Slow hands, fast brain
by clockmaker fred on 2016/12/28 14:08
At 80 years my eyes and hands don't seem to work together as fast as needed for action games, but I can still figure out the next move if you give me a minute. This game is fun, entertaining, and challenging The graphics are nice, and fanfare after a win is fun.
A little more help?
by Kathleen's games on 2018/01/11 18:45
I like this game but am struggling to catch on. I'd like to see more help, such as staying at level 1 until I choose to go up, rather than being up to a three! Also would like to pause "how to win" feature, then go on. In my 60s dealing with flying cards is more difficult ( but important to keep trying)!
Excellent free cell game
by Fhelliott on 2017/01/11 06:36
The latest update is nice with the daily goals but I still hope the created will create a warning that the number of consecutive wins will start over when new game is accidentally hit twice. The accident counts as a loss and should not since it was never played.
Fun and Challenging
by JK cook on 2017/08/17 23:14
I just started playing in this game about a week ago. It's a challenging game. I still haven't figured out all the technicalities. I wish it had a daily challenge like the other mobilityware games because the goals don't make a lot of sense to me. I'll keep working on it.
Even better!
by Shariam47 on 2018/11/17 17:04
My husband & I have been playing Free Cell for years. We started playing to help with our memory. Then we were competing with each other. Now we have started playing the games in sequence, starting at 1. Beware, the game is addictive.
Want to turn off end of game animation
by Fieldgoal8576 on 2018/04/25 02:20
I find the end of game animations to be annoying and there’s not an option to turn them off. In the settings, it appears there is an option, but turning it off doesn’t work. Chose this one because the card graphics are the easiest to see.
Great solitaire game
by mullinix9777 on 2018/03/07 17:50
I had the free version that I played daily for over a year. It was great fun and very entertaining, but the pop-up ads started to get very tedious. I finally decided to pay for the ad free version and I’m so glad I did. Now I have my daily Free Cell fix without the ads.
New version 5.0
by Spiniker Sally on 2018/11/05 23:39
At first glance the screen is too bright. Second issue is all my history is gone, my new level is that of Maiden. Unwanted reset! In each game played on day one the most irritating issue is when tapping, for instance, a 10 of diamonds to go to the foundation- the 10 jumps back and forth to the jack of spades and clubs in the stacks. Third times a charm = 2 extra moves!
Back to FreeCell and it’s great!
by PedrickV on 2018/04/03 20:32
I got tired of being stymied in the older versions, which wouldn’t let you undo and redo. This new (to me) lets me enjoy playing. I paid for the individual version of the game and the ads are gone! And I turn off the animations I don’t like. So this is a lot of fun while still being a challenge.
My daily entertainment!
by Old lady Elli on 2018/02/12 06:31
I find this game most entertaining! It is challenging and fun to play while relaxing. I play opting for the numbered deal starting with game number 0001 and have enjoyed playing to game 6000 so far. It puts my old brain to work trying to figure out how to win.
Awesome rebuild!
by Hallux Sinister on 2018/11/04 02:41
I have been wasting a fair amount of time with this app, and had been pretty happy, then an update stating that they’d had to rebuild FreeCell from scratch; oh boy, I thought... but I updated anyway and I’m happy I did. There are actual visible improvements. Give it a try!
Challenge
by Swede Allen on 2017/10/20 02:57
Figured out how the challenge works, now it clear as a bell. You may already have done the daily challenge and not even known it. Just finish one of the unusual and the rest follow and the remainder of the event is automatically finished.
Unable to use own background
by enlightndDr on 2018/10/25 21:04
I am unable to choose my own background picture as I have in past versions, it freezes the game and I have to close app. Very frustrating.
That's right: It's Dyn-O-Mite!
by TonyXavier on 2017/09/11 09:03
This is close to being the perfect game: it's challenging, it wards off dementia (by making you think), all of the answers are right under your nose, and if you plan carefully it's really not hard to beat the game. In my opinion it's a five star game. I only gave it a four to keep its author on his or her or the gender challenged's toes.
Good Game & This Is a Good Version
by Nut4Wine on 2016/12/31 15:16
I've never played Freecell before but I had to find one for someone. I picked this one after some research and I'm very happy with it. After playing both the free and paid versions, I find it's worth getting the paid to avoid the ads. They took too many clicks to dismiss.

Excellent game
by Gary Leive on 2019/05/22 22:41
I left a one star review (see below). Mobilityware was kind enough to respond with information including the fact that they do have a paid ad free version. I was puzzled because I couldn’t find it in the App Store. I had recently switched to a different iPad which I set up manually. In that process I unknowingly installed the unpaid version of Mobilityware’s FreeCell with ads. The unpaid version shares the same icon as the paid version in the App Store and on the screen. I couldn’t find a paid version because I had already purchased it. In the App Store both versions with the same icon both showed a cloud rather than a price.

The free version lately was taking time to load so I bought the paid version...it is inexpensive, anyway. It works like a charm! As a side note, the support is very prompt in responding, one of the best I have ever seem. The version seems to have reverted back to one with ads. Why am I getting Game Center pop up.

update is bad!
by asmile518 on 2018/12/22 11:47
Before the update I was spending an absurd amount of time daily playing this game, however the new interface is so clunky, I haven't played it in weeks. I do not like it at all and wish every aspect of the interface, from the card size to the list of game play options, to the hints/suggestions/“no available moves” notifications, could revert to what it used to be.

by Murcielogo on 2018/12/10 18:25
This version is programmed to always may the dumbest move when given a choice.

An unhappy camper.

by Msellert on 2018/11/24 12:16
The new titles are just dreadful.

Hmmm.

That was my way of 'cheating' before. ;)

Great Ap!
by Jody4870 on 2017/02/09 02:16
I've always liked freecell.
It is fun.
The best!!!
by Chebyshev13245 on 2016/12/26 02:32
This app is an absolutely superb production, in the way it displays, in the extremely ingenious graphics. I have this game in the "solitaire till dawn" version on my Mac, and that is also an extraordinary piece of software. In certain respects, I like this app better, particularly in the way it suggests on an ongoing basis the movements that can be made. Great piece of work.
Update
by BeagleLuvr on 2016/12/29 07:17
I do like some of the new things in the update, but dislike others.
