Serious problem in app

Both website and app is having serious problem. 1. The forgot passcode/ID feature don’t work even when right information is provided 2. Could not view or download bank statements 3. No reliable contact page. Customer had to wait during nights without 24/7 chat feature.

Alert lock up

When touching the alert, another screen comes up showing the individual alert. Tapping any of those will lock up the app. IPadOS 14.0.1. This doesn’t happen in iOS 14.0.1. Per instructions sent by BoA I removed and reinstalled the app. Still the same. Still the same. Every alert ends with a hung App!

This app allows me to do my day to day banking without having to go into a branch. I love that this app allows me to be in control of my finances. I love that I am able to manage my Merrill accounts here as well. Keep up the great work.

Started off fine, woke up with 750$ in my account did a 220$ transaction, next thing you know I’m almost 3 million dollars in debt had a face to face appointment they said 10 days to resolve the issue going on a month account still negative nothing resolved and oh yeah no longer accepting appointments now, waste of time, energy and money, they said someone did a 200$ chargeback from zelle after we did successful business then why not take the 200$ and leave my 330$ and then once my proof weighs out compensate me the other 200$

What happened to my being able to go to my account, see all my bill to accounts, pay all of my bills in one setting. I am 82 years old and can’t figure out your new technology which was obviously designed for the young tech savy crowed. After nearly 50 years with BOA, I feel my Wells Fargo or Mission Federal accounts are designed for me. I guess I will have to consider weather BOA only wants younger clients.

I use my app every day to keep track of spending and review charges on my account (to make sure I’m not being charged for anything I did not approve of or to be weary of any fraudulent activity). If I have any issues, the app makes it very easy to get into contact with anyone if I need any help! Everyone is always great, friendly and helpful! It’s secure and logs you out of your session if not used for more than a couple of minutes so it’s safe. Thanks BOA!

This App has always been ahead of its time. I enjoy bill pay and was wondering if we could get the feature back that shows the total form payments going out today. Also would like to see the available balance updated to show those payments as out before that day clears for those payments. I believe it used to be this way and now it’s not.

I love online banking and having access to my funds within the palm of my hands. Over the past few weeks the app has become more and more unavailable and even inaccessible. 3 days straight of no access and no answers is not acceptable. This persisted even a tee online chats and phone calls to the customer service areas that support online applications. Still no admission of a problem. So I’M the issue. That is the impression left when a company who clearly has a technical issue will not say that are experiencing technical issues. Now that I wrote this out; my 3 may be too generous. Look, like everything, when it works it works! When it DOES NOT; shut it down, flag it, fix it and get us back on track. Terribly disappointing experience. Just too much work to move it and I did consider it.

I’ve been banking with Bank of America for over 10 years and you charge me a $8 maintenance fee Bc my savings dropped under $500 for a couple days. I talked to your representative and she did not want to consider reversing it. She seemed unconcerned about me being unhappy and could care less that I’m closing my account.

This is not a negative review of BOA but rather a plea for help from the app makers! My iphone 11 was working fine with this app until either the latest app updates or iPhone updates! I download the app and get a message before signing in: “Error. We’re sorry, we weren’t able to complete your request. Please Try again. “ then it has a retry button that still doesn’t work! I notice I can’t search for the Bank of America site on any of the search engines on the phone but I can on my laptop Please help

The app has always been great but most recent update make it impossible to access the transfer tab. Using it on IPhone Mini and everytime I try to go to the transfer tab the app crashes and restarts. I have tried deleting the app and reinstalling and still no go.

With almost seventeen years of experience with BofA, I have known them to be always a step ahead, setting a bar for other Banks to follow. And this BofA App, it’s simple to use, with all the amenities you require from a Bank, I don’t even need to go to Banking Center. In this Covid19 season, Bank of America still offers superimposed, unprecedented services through this App to customers, making life even easier in difficult times. I ordered a vitamin from online a year ago, and the company tried charging me again just yesterday. Guess what? BofA declined them and notified me on my phone, asking if I authorized the purchase. With just a click, the case was resolved, and with just two more clicks, a new card was underway to me. In the meantime, a representative was awaiting in the Banking Hall even in this Covid19 situation, asking if I needed a Temporary Card. I got there, I entered the Bank. “Hi, welcome to Bank of America, are you Mr. .......”, she asked, “oh yeah I just spoke to you, right?”, she concluded. I left the Bank in just 7 minutes with this 6’ feet almost everywhere 😂. With Banking experience with other five major banks, BankofA sets itself apart, and you don’t have to have millions or thousands to be valued, that’s another thing you can’t compromise. Indeed, I know of no other Banking App available today, which offers so comprehensive, reliable and up to the minute Banking Experience, of so complex a customer’s demand.
New ‘Bill Pay’ is Horrible

The new Bill Pay section is poorly designed trash that has ruined the app experience. Not only is it ugly, it does a poor job of visually integrating with the rest of the app. Clunky and unintuitive, to now make an online payment you must sift through multiple screens, making multiple clicks—all of which is very confusing to the consumer. You now also have to manually assign a “pay by” date to complete the process which is terribly annoying. (The default should be set similar to the pre-updated version that automatically sets the earliest possible date for you. But, still allow a user to manually set their own “pay by” date if needed.) Overall, the former Bill Pay was MUCH easier to utilize and MUCH nicer to look at. To add to the problems, we no longer have the ability to delete old “Pay To” accounts from within the app the way we could previously. Another oversight. BOA has definitely taken steps backwards with this update. If I had to guess, budget cuts forced BOA to begin implementing new app updates via internal junior-level design team, rather than outsourcing to a professional UI/UX firm. As a result, this update has a “beta” feel displaying poor form, function and usability. Really embarrassing for a big bank.

Ok I don’t know if I’m talking about the bank of the Benk’s employees. I walked into the bank branch the other day to make a deposit and the teller convinced me to talk to a small business representative and so I did. The business representative explained to how easy and worth was for me to open a line of credit and before I could think they had me filling an application. On the conversation I explained all my life to the financing agent and said that I did not want a hard inquiry in my credit for no reason. She told me the for her experience and my record with the bank it would not be a problem to get the line of credit. I trusted her and went for it. After 7 days an other agent called me for an interview over the phone and she denied me based on my records; recored that they had access all along. So my review here is for you to be aware of shifting employees in branch who want to make a little extra with total disregard with people’s life. They don’t care if your credit will be damaged or your time wasted all they care is that they make they percentual extra money. Or it could be the bofa system too that operates on forcing them to screw clients with the complete disregard with damaging their personal life. So it could be the bank, the employees or both.

When I finally received my I-Phone, it was time to try banking on line. I downloaded this app & began a totally new adventure. As time provides, I’ve been slowly delving into what I thought would be an amazing experience where banking and bill pay would become easily completed with minimal effort. Wrong, not entirely true. At this point I am frustrated. To simply pay my bills every month, without fumbles, less stress and time, I find out from ALL options, I’m not able to do online banking to pay aforementioned bills because I don’t have the necessary accounts available to do so. I have checking, savings and a fairly healthy CD.....I wonder, why can’t I bank online? Why does it say I’m unable to use this app for online banking because I haven’t the accounts to do so? Huh? What? I’m so confused! I can’t locate the forms I need either....I want to be sure when I pass, my daughter receives all my monies from these “Appropriately Established” accounts! I’ve called 3 times to have the forms mailed to me...to no avail and I’m unable to pay my bills online. I’m disabled, hooked up to oxygen, unable to go into the bank as I mentioned when I called. I was told to open online banking that that would help me handle everything from home. If I figure it out one day, you’ll receive the 5th star. Take care my friend.

I want to acknowledge Daniela (I didn’t catch her last name.) a phone representative of B of A for her incredible knowledge and apparent skills sets that sets her apart from many other people. Upon receiving my call she was well versed on what to do about my issues and took immediate action to reverse a fraudulent erroneous charge to my account. Her demeanor is warm, friendly and I could just imagine her smiling while she was busy helping to close my old card down, reverse the charge, stop this business from ever being able to use my account again and send me a new card. This entire process was less than 10 minutes and my problem was resolved immediately. And this was done in a very professional and proficient manner with that bit of human kindness, and empathy. It’s rare these days to find someone over the phone who is competent and gives you excellent customer service like Daniela. Thank you for your OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! I have bank with this over 20 years for one purpose the bill pay system was great. Made my life easy. I scheduled my bills and the money came out of the account on the day I scheduled them to pay. Life was great. I had control of my life. They changed a perfectly good system for get additional bank fees. The current system ignores your scheduled payment day. It could come out as early as 3 days before your scheduled payment date. I’m sorry that I’m not rich and sometime I live check to check. Which means if I schedule it for a specific day, that the day my paycheck will be there... not 3 days earlier. The control I had help me manage my money better and raised my credit score to over 800. am now looking at other bank system. Their policies have ruined the best bank payment system. You no longer can trust this bank will consider customer the needs. BTW. They charge me for overdraft fees for processing the checks 3 days before I scheduled it on my pay date. When I called and complained, the service agent said they changed the check processing policy to what was convenient for the bank.

I’ve been using the app since it first became available and I’ve been absolutely delighted with it for all of these years of use. Then came version 8.1.12 and the bill pay part of the app went down the toilet. Keeping records of payments off-line is no longer easy. It tells me a payment was scheduled but leaves out the important stuff like to who, how much, and when. I also miss the list of scheduled payments with the total $ amount A quick screenshot used to be able to get and keep a record of off line for a quick reference without having to log in. Pay to, amount, pay date, and $ total all on one page. That was the best part of bill pay and now it’s gone. Ease of use went out the window with this version. It didn’t take long to become frustrated and gave up trying to do the easy and familiar tasks that were perfected over the years. I’m very sorry to see that change overnight. The app designers should be people that actually use the app frequently! Take a step forward and take the Bill Pay section back to what worked well for years!

I am an over the road truck driver and I work most days. I reported a suspicious charge on my checking account and asked them to block that merchant and not deactivate my debit card. The representative stated my debit card would remain unchanged and able to be used at any debit card terminal, but some idiot cancelled my debit card and mailed a new card to my mailing address in Florida. I drive all around the country so that stupid people like this can have food on their tables. I am a first responder and I save thousands more lives with each trailer load of food than one policebigot does throughout its entire career. I demand fair representation. This bank is unamerican crap, and does not provide reasonable accommodations to truck drivers who are a significant part of the American economy. My father and I are long term customers but as a trucker I just cannot deal with the incompetence of this bank any further so as soon as i get to my second property in El Paso (Monday since all their branches are closed on weekends even though I still work), I intend to go inside the El Paso BofA and demand every penny out of my checking account from the minimum wage idiot and they had better give me every penny. I will be banking with N26 instead. This is not Bank of “America”, this is Bank of Dixie. Dixie is just as bad for the American economy as it was during the Civil War.

I tried to set up auto pay to automatically pay the whole balance every month. No can do. The app automatically schedules the minimum payment every month. No way to change on the app. No help - so far - from customer service. Sad. Here is an update: I got a response from a member of the tech team. It said that the developer needed more information on the type of account. Fair enough. But the response took several days and I was unable to respond to the feedback. Clicking the response link went to a leave feedback general page so the whole thread would have been lost. In the meantime I called the general customer service number. They did not have the information so they referred me to a technical support line which was closed for the evening. I called tech support. They told me what I was trying to do (pay in full every month—less interest fees to the bank) could only be done on the desktop app, not the mobile app. So it is a deficiency in the mobile app. To add insult to injury making this change is not effective immediately or even in a few days but not until the next billing cycle over a month away. Poor technology choices all around. Desktop and mobile apps both. My rating of 2 stars has been confirmed several times over.

I have called tech support twice this morning.. both times representative was confident on the troubleshooting step given. I have three accounts on my phone of those three I can only Send money from two. I was told to uninstall and reinstall as I needed to update app. I did that it didn’t work.. I called back again .. rep tried steps again, she also had me login to webpage. From the webpage on my phone I was able todo the transaction. She had me log out of the mobile app and back in to try it again.. still didn’t work. She then told me that the next option was to restart my phone then she could open a ticket .. but we were talking on so, she would loose the call .. and that she couldn’t call me back.. Most people are in the device they need assistance with. There should be a disclaimer that if you need help with your mobile devices don’t call from it.. like when you call your mobile carrier.. long story short... I have restarted my phone and uninstalled and reinstalled a second time.. I still can’t make the transfer. Disappointed!

This is the glitchiest app I use and it’s frustrating that a mammoth of a financial institution cannot invest in a more robust mobile application. Almost every time I try to use mobile deposit, it hangs up. Usually this happens during the photo step. Often though, I get all the way to the end and try to finish the deposit and I get a pop up message that it failed and to try again later. Sometimes it fails all day and I have to wait until a day or two later. I turn off my phone and try refreshing it that way. I look for updates. Nothing will correct it. So I’m sitting on checks that I can’t deposit unless I go to a branch and that sort of defeats the purpose of a mobile app. Admittedly, I’ve considered switching banks because it’s happening more often now than it did a year or two ago, but I don’t have time to read reviews to see if any other banks have better technology. This is among the most frustrating apps I have. I get anxiety every time I need to deposit because I almost can predict that it’s going to take me all day to try dozens of attempts. It’s like I have to set aside a good time to go to work at it. My brother and daughter use the same bank/app and we recently shared our frustrations so I know it’s not my phone. (Sigh)

I’ve been using the BOA app since it was rolled out. It was good off the bat but upgrades that have been added make banking tasks easier and more accessible. Being able to deposit checks using the app means you can deposit any check instantly if you have internet access. Check your balances, transfer money between your account or to anyone whose bank uses Zelle like BOA does. Dispute transactions, apply for loans, check your portfolio of investments for real time values and much more. Notifications can remind you of regular or irregular payments as they approach and paying your bills is easy. And they make your money safe since you can get notified anytime any thing happens with your money I’d you set your settings up to receive such. notications. Never make a late payment again and watch your credit rating shoot up if you issues around remembering when to mail payments . Last you always have real time balances of all your accounts Off all the apps I have, the BOA app is one of the very best out there.

Love the iPhone version, but 3 stars for the iPad version. It behaves a bit oddly as far as rendering things nicely on the screen and it is only optimized for portrait mode - when you go into landscape mode it isn’t full screen, and things are cut off - not as polished as it needs to be. The iPad has had a dedicated keyboard and new iPads have an even better keyboard coming out, they should update the app to behave at its full potential in landscape mode. As an aside - and not related to the three stars. Since there is no official platform to address the Desktop site, I wanted to highlight something that I have noticed and hope the Desktop team fixes it. It looks like BofA is going through a design update but only parts of the site are done. For example, Budgets and Goals pages feature a full width toolbar, updated sizing and generally look modern, whereas the account overview page (basically the homepage you get when you log in) and every other page still has the centered 90s toolbar and super small objects and font. Hoping they switch the entire site over to the new face-lifted look. Thinking back I think Goals, Budgets and maybe Statements feature this new style.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Bring back the ability to sign in with fingerprint! I had to upgrade my iPhone at the end of last year. I was able to sign in using my fingerprint like I did with my iPhone 5, but that soon changed. I’m assuming there was a software update for my phone because at some time in Jan 2018, I was no longer able to sign in. I had a heck of a time with it and tried getting help through customer service (phone call) AND visiting a local branch to try to figure out how to get the option to open the app with my fingerprint, again. The branch people were just as frustrated as I was and said that you all were probably aware of the problem and working on it. We’re almost 9 months later and still no fix in sight. Frustration #2: I had to come up with a new password and it has so many stipulations on what it can or cannot be that I ended up choosing one that Apple produced for me. Do you know how frustrating it is to have to recall this new, convoluted password EVERY DANG TIME I need to access my account from the app?!?!?! With all said, I like the ease of use of the app once I’m in it. But I rarely use it any more. At least I’m now able to see my balances with a tap, but it sure is perplexing why you allow that but I cannot make a deposit without having to sign in?!?!?? Bizarre....

So the app was my favorite finance app: all the info in one place, easy to view and navigate. Until the “Erica” feature was launched. I’m not sure what the value-add is; I don’t want to talk to my phone about my banking, or spend time typing in questions, when you can get to pretty much everything with a few taps. The biggest pain point is that there obviously wasn’t much thought put into the Erica UI. There’s just this big red button that hovers over your screen, and - get this! - there’s NO WAY TO GET RID OF IT. Either it’s in the way of the balances you’re tying to view, or you drag it out of your way with every screen you go to. Not to mention that its default position is right where people who hold phones in their right hands swipe to scroll. One accidental tap and you’ve got this thing talking to you. I get it, some people like to talk about their banking out loud (and sometimes even in public, which doesn’t seem like the best idea). And some people get into Siri-like interfaces to apps. This one feels like someone at BofA decided they needed a shiny AI app so they could be like the cool kids, but forgot to budget for finding out what their consumers actually wanted.

I use this app all the time and have had a lot of success with it. There are 2 things about this app I would change if I could... 1) In online bill pay when you use the desktop version you can see when your last payment was sent and for how much under the payee information. On the app you have to click on the payee information to see it which opens a payment that you have to cancel out of if you don’t want to actually make a payment. It’s lots of clicks and it would just be easier if recent payment information was listed under each payee when you are in the online bill pay screen in the app. 2) I wish I did not have a monthly mobile deposit limit. My husband works out of state which is the main reason we use a national bank like BOA, but he is currently in a state with no BOA and when he gets paid off of a job he has to snail mail me the check so I can go to a banking center or ATM to deposit it after we hit the online mobile deposit limit which is usually the first week of a new month. Why is a limit necessary?! Other than that I love the app and use it all the time!

So far, over the last 10+ years, I have no complaints a with anything that I have called the bank about. The personnel that have assisted me have been both professional, knowledgeable and very helpful. This has been both in person and over the phone various times over the last 10+ years. I have used billpay at work and at home thru Suntrust Bank, Wells Fargo and small local banks. Bank of America has the easiest online billpay to navigate. Once you realize that certain features have to be accomplished on a laptop or desktop computer for security, it’s a whiz to use a cell phone or iPad, etc. to do your online banking, including deposits of checks. I am one of the older seniors (73 years old) who is very adept with computers, although most people assume that if you’re over 60 you don’t know how to use a computer, nor are you able to learn. I just call BofA support anytime there’s a change and I don’t want to spend the time to navigate the new feature and I’m helped within 5 to 10 minutes.
“View all” and search is very sparse!

Arbitrarily showing only 3 months of transactions on the accounts transactions search page is not useful, especially for savings accounts. Loading 25 more, and then 25 more, and then 25 more, similarly is a poor interface (after I’ve already clicked “view all” NOT “view a handful” or “view only 90 days’ worth without an option to search beyond the pittance that’s already been loaded.” Please just provide the same viewing and searching features that are available on the computer (or that were already available many years ago when online banking was in its infancy—why are our iPhones LESS capable vis-a-vis BofA than a computer from 2010?). Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the online statements in PDF, but the iPhone app _should_ also be made useful for quick searching, etc., of past transactions. Trying to go month-by-month in PDF statements is not fun on the iPhone, when the broader view/search technology would be easy and obvious to implement. It’s bad enough that you keep the inane “view all” button at all, as if the majority of users looking for recent activity only want to see six to ten transactions...

I really like dealing with a lot of the customers, I also especially like Pedro he works inside of the bank here in Altamonte Springs . Pedro truly deserves a raise or a promotion ,but I never get any surveys on him, even though I was told that I would . He’s been very helpful too us from day one since we moved here too Altamonte Springs Fla. He’s a really kind hearted person and he understands my needs . He’s helpful young man ,he listens too my situations and understand everything I’m trying too get done . And he takes care of us . My husband and I will continue too support Bank of America by trusting them with our money. As long as Pedro is working there. We trust him and enjoy working with him . I Pray he’s given a promotion because I was told I would get a survey on him but I’ve never gotten one, and that’s been since July . Your app never seems to work. Every time I go to open it it no longer recognizes my user ID or password. It doesn't even recognize the fingerprint anymore. I have to reset things every time by deleting and reinstalling. This is ridiculous. I don't know what you did to the app but whatever you did you ruined it because it just doesn't work. I can assure you that I want to use an app and if this thing does not start working properly I will change all four of my accounts over to another bank that has an app that does work. I'm updating my review. The stupid thing still doesn't work right. I have to constantly re-do the installation and place user names and passwords in. Twice I've had to change the password for no reason other than the stupid app can't recognize it. Fire your IT people and hire some new ones Wanted to update. Working great after the above problems finally resolved. My only complaint is they still don’t have a place for a memo when you write a check in the app. Seems like a logical thing to put there. I’ve requested it several times but to no avail.

How hard is it to make a SIMPLE app?! After the most recent update, I wanted to pay my BOA credit card bill through this stupid app, and I’m not allowed to pay using the former straight forward method, instead, it forced me to add my BOA credit card as a payee in the Bill Pay section, which is so stupid: why do I have to add the BOA as a payee when I’m already using the BOA app?!?! OK, fine, I did it since I don’t have a choice, however, after all these hassle, I found that I’m only allowed to pay from my newly opened BOA checking account, which I have no money there! I can’t pay from other checking accounts, I spent almost half an hour exploring this over complicated stupid app, and clearly there is no other way to pay except through Bill Pay, and there is absolutely no way to pay from any other checking accounts beside the BOA one! I have 5 credit cards from 5 different financial companies, and I use 5 different apps every month to pay my bills and do other stuffs, clearly this BOA app is THE WORST I ever used! To many useless features that no one will ever use, and the user interface is not just bad, it is awful! Whoever develops this app and this awful UI should be ashamed by yourselves! THIS APP IS A DISASTER!

Updated rating: the app now has the option to hide the annoying bot button, as noted by the developer response to this review. Odd that it’s not in the version history for the app. ——- The app is largely fine for basic banking transactions (transfer funds, check balances or transactions, deposit checks via phone camera), but the introduction of the bothersome “Erica” bot is an unnecessary annoyance: the button to engage is overlaid on the actual banking content making it easy to accidentally trigger or covering details you actually want; there’s no way to disable it as “Erica” will helpfully confirm; and the bot is sometimes displayed as an even larger block of promotional text. Having a chatbot may be useful to customers for selected services that would otherwise require a call, but forcing everyone to engage with it regardless of their current task in the app is quite a user-hostile implementation. I can only speculate that some poor middle manager on Bank of America’s app or marketing team has new job performance metrics tied to the number of Erica button clicks.

Yes so I love the app and all the features that come with the app just like any other banking app. The pros is that it has added security and you are given offers for local deals. That is a huge bonus for me and also the feature where you can send and receive money through Zelle. Now the cons I have especially recently is the notifications doesn’t seem to update in a timely manner. Meaning I’ll go and click on the bell and the notifications will be blue, so I click on them and my bell doesn’t have any alerts. However I can go back on there an hour later and those same notifications will pop back up unread. It’s quite annoying seeming mine is now at 20+ notifications that “hasn’t been opened”. Another issue I’ve had is trying to receive money on Zelle a few times. I’m not sure if we can only receive money from an a like account or someone who also has BOA or what. If that is the case it would be appreciated if you all considered expanding that, but if that’s not the case then maybe you guys should consider making an easier process for someone receiving money through Zelle.

This app is advertised as giving up-to-the-minute information on your account; that is misleading. I have ran into a lot of trouble because of that promise about this app, and that is causing me to move all my banking needs elsewhere having confirmed from Bank of America customer associates on several calls that I should not rely on the app for the real-time information on my account. Repeatedly, I have relied on the information provided by this app on my account only to wake up to surprising charges. Even when I go to bed with a positive balance on the app, I still end up with overdraft charges the next morning, referencing transactions that never showed up on the app. It’s almost at the point where I now feel that lag in giving up-to-date status of accounts on the app is intentional. For Small Business Owners just starting out and juggling finances, this app will ensure you keep you losing money. I’ve started the process of moving my banking needs elsewhere, and it is very sad because I thought Bank Of America really cared about small business owners, and I was wrong. Whatever you do, don’t rely on this app to give you the advertised up-to-the-minute update on your account as advertised.

Bank/app takes too long to post my spendings. I always think I have more than I actually end up having. Not sure how that happens. They blame the places, the places blame the bank. It actually makes sense it’s the bank, bc the places request money right away when swiping card, it’s the bank deciding of when they release money, but also it’s more of when they want to say they paid it. Unless really checked thoroughly in an internal audit that is honest and fair, you don’t know if they are handling your account fairly really. Why DOES it take it so long for transactions to post??? It’s in “processing” for almost 3 days sometimes! There’s other sketchy things I’ve noticed about bank also that I’m looking into. As I actually feel they’re stealing money from me that way, bc one example, if deposit more into account to cover any costs for the future, it deducts from there and all of a sudden the balance prior to deposit, was no more what it was. I will look more into it in my next coming purchases, and then will have to report. This more of a complaint against the bank than app. But bank actually deserves -1 Star so will note it anywhere it has to do with bank until I get to consumer affairs about how they handle accounts.

The app is fine it works as well as you’d expect. It gives you the answers to questions the bank wants you to ask. It shows you all your accounts at once so you can see that despite having thousands of dollars in one account the bank didn’t transfer any of it over to your other account. But hey, I can clearly see the -$35 overdraft fee. Kudos BofA you act really fast, I was only overdrawn for a couple of hours in the middle of the night, but luckily your computers never sleep so the overdraft was lightning fast followed quickly by a second one. Hey I spent $70 in my sleep. On nothing. Cool! But the app, yes the app is awesome I can transfer money from my phone. Only $1000 a day of course - the bank knows I don’t need anymore than that. The app is great with sending me messages. They are always 6 or 7 hours after the fact, but hey what’s the rush right? I can also deposit money with a click of my phone camera which is great. Of course the money still takes 3 days to hit my account, but it’s okay the bank knows I can wait - what other option do I have? Right! 😂 So all in all I’d recommend the app to anyone who is interested in watching their bank balance deteriorate in real time. Or who likes talking to chatbots named Erica.

The new mobile app for online bill pay is ridiculous. Screwed up my billing twice by not listing ALL outgoing payments in the same place under “Activity” and instead , as I’m now understanding, it puts payments sent by check in another location in the app. It does not allow you to manage your bills accurately. When you have 10 different credit cards, utility bills etc, it is VITAL to be able to have all outgoing payments listed TOGETHER BY DATE. When I called to complain about a payment that hadn’t been listed that I’d missed because of that, the customer service rep out in Virginia at the 800 number was rude and condescending and argued that I had “used the wrong word” to describe the issue. I’ve been baking with BOA since 2004 and never have had any representative of the bank behave so horribly. He needs to be fired as he does NOT belong in customer service. I’m at my branch now trying to get this handled, and if I am charged an overdraft fee, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve used all the banks in my area and finally decided to try BOA about 4 years ago. I’m so glad I did. The app is my brick and mortar bank now. I rarely have to go to the actual bank now because the app is so convenient and has so many services I can complete online. So I’ve opened a credit card, transferred my savings, my business, along with my checking and now my family and friends are too. I have to give a shout out to their customer service at the actual bank as well. People complain about not having a local “down home” type bank, well surprisingly, BOA employees always treat me like I’m a friend or neighbor, and I’m hardly ever there. The other banks charge money for things that are simply everyday transactions at BOA. Plus, the limits on things like transfers, sending money are higher (thus more convenient) than the other banks, and they’re mostly FREE! I’ve watched my friends and family complain about paying for simple stuff and I keep saying,”go to BOA.” I have the ability to transfer cash for free to anyone just by using their cell phone or email and it’s totally free. I have saved so much money in gas and time because I can pay someone to start a job for me without having to wait to drop off or mail a check. Phenomenal stuff!!! The app is easy to use and if I ever have a question I just call and they’re customer service is incredible. They always beat my expectations. I highly recommend this app and BOA!

I like the convenience of the mobile App. Especially when I don’t want to go out to Deposit a check. Now if you could only dispense money from my phone !! Customer service is as the previous reviewer claims - but no different from any other bank or business. It would be so innovative if a business took the lead and stated to their customers that they would provide THE BEST customer service and actually have a real person answering the phone when you call. People usually call with a specific problem or question that is NEVER included in the phone prompts. I just want to speak to someone right away because i know what my issue is and if I can TELL someone right away it would save a lot of time and aggravation for both parties. Just think of how happy your customers would be. And happy customers mean happy employees. It is a WIN WiN compromise. Thanks for giving me time and place to speak my mind. PS. I still do like the mobile APP!!
A issue with fund transfer

This is a great app. It's designed so meticulously that I would like to congratulate the development team of BoA. However, since last few months I’m not able to do funds transfer to a payee registered with bank of america account number. Everything goes fine until the step where it says that enter the safe passcode sent to your mobile number to complete the transfer but it never sends the safe passcode and the transfer can’t be completed. I called the support team and the agent told me that using the mobile app you can transfer funds to recipient registered with mobile or email only. It can’t be transferred to a recipient registered with bank account number. This was all working for last 3 years and now it’s stopped. I don’t have any communication from the bank about this neither it gives such information while initiating the transfer from the mobile app. The same works well from the desktop website or from mobile website. I don’t understand why it has been blocked in the App without any appropriate communication. Hopefully, someone in customer care team looks at this and resolves the issue.

Bank of America is my bank. I’m very proud to have my accounts in there at this bank, but this app does need some improvements. The first improvement that I would say is that it needs to make sure that he has an in-house budgeting system. The budgeting system that is used by Bank of America is to me outsourced, and it’s something that I think needs to be more in-house than something they used to second a.m. I also think that the checks need to be processed a lot faster when you snap A picture of it. Waiting anywhere from 3 to 5 days seem ridiculous in this age of instant. I think that something that needs to be improved. Overall, I do like this app. It’s one of the better banking app set out there, and it’s one of the apps that I actually will put together a digital assistant for you so that you can actually figure out what you’re doing. Overall download the app but make sure that you hold this bank accountable for keeping up to speed with the latest advancements.

Also gets glitchy. Can’t reset pw fully with it syncing to the actual BoA site. Several times over past months. Have to log into browser. Delete old app. Reinstall new. 45 minutes of tech support and guy got offended when I told him maybe to outsource so new developers so BoA can have a banking app that actually reliably works. @ MIke: yes, of course I tried using the touch ID but that only worked for about 3 days and then no longer (?). I DID try to reset the pw via the app- several times with rebooting included. Although it looked like it took the pw & I received the text key, etc... it did not store the new pw. Every time I went to log in, even when pw reset from tech support, it took me to the enter acct # /ssn page. When on browser site, I tried using the new pw that I created and it didn’t take saying had to be different. Obviously the app synced with BoA on some level however nothing, again, worked in the app. With over 17+ yrs in wireless/global regulatory type approval, I am not a newbie re: proper app functionality. You guys should really FIX the bugs in these apps because it’s creating a wretched experience for small business owners like myself.

I think it’s a little dated to think you can’t change your due date with the app. Shockingly enough you can’t even do this in the online account. They make you call there customer service line for this. I hope BOA crawls out from the Stone Age. The app and he o line banking portal seem outdated. The “payment due” notification doesn’t communicate with whether you already paid the bill and if can scare you when you say “past due” in the reminder section when really you just didn’t do the extra step to mark it as completed. Also I’m noticing almost all banks now offer a customer loyalty for making on-time payments and such to allow customers to apply for a credit line increase without a hard pull. Many of the other banks use a soft pull as if you yourself are checking your free FICO if they really want to look at your credit but even that is very rare most companies base it on good account history and customer loyalty. Just waiting for BOA to catch up with their competition. Hopefully someone with authority sees this review and makes a difference to bring the company to the competitive playing field

BofA you’ve created a monster. Erica is a nuisance. This app doesn’t need its personal Siri. The worst part is, you can’t turn her presence on the screen off even after you “unenroll” in her; that is, I didn’t enroll, but BofA did for me. This is a gimmick and has only surface value. It looks good and glitzy on the functionalities list, but serves no benefit to the end user. The app is great apait’s easy enough to navigate as it is; the “digital assistant” trend is a rapidly-dying trend. Let’s hang them up. Capital One is putting BofA to shame by their unnerving support for the Capitals Stanley Cup campaign this year. Let’s not mention their inhumane interest rates here I guess 😏😬. Also WHY WHY WHY is there no option to turn off the equally irrelevant and absurdly persistent “for your security,...inactivity” notification!!!! ITS 2018. PLEASE. The goal is to create things that save us time, not waste it. After all, time is the most valuable thing a person can respect for another.

I have banked with BofA for many years. I bank with a competitor bank as well. BofA stands out as the clear customer service winner. I took off one star for the older technology with my credit card. Every other card I have can be locked online by me for any reason. Only Bank of America will not give me that feature. When I tried to address the issue with the card representative I was given a bogus excuse. Bank of America should learn that there is no excuse to not provide their customers with this type of convenience and that the other cards have better technology the more control that you put in the customers hands the better the product will be liked and accepted and secure. I neglected my BofA cards and elected to use other cards because I have to be much more careful with them being that the only option is just shut down my BofA debit card and all the rest of my credit cards just to lock down one card so that I can investigate a charge.

It’s pretty slow on my 2017 iPhone SE. Everything is slow: launching the app, authorization, working in the app. I activated push notifications to follow my balance - the thing appeared to be inconvenient. It keeps sending me notifications every day but I want to be notified only when money is set to be withdrawn from my account. And again, any time I get a notification an annoying little red circle appears next to the app’s icon. To get rid of it I need to go to the app and “read” the notification in it which is an annoying thing to do every day because the app is so slow. There is a huge list of options when you are setting up push notifications. Many of them are not intelligible. This list needs to be redone: it needs to be brief and include only understandable and necessary options. The good thing about the app is the AI helper (I think they call it Emma) which they introduced recently. It is extremely helpful. It’s fast and really does what I ask it to do. I also don’t like the design, but it might be subjective though ...

I just hate how you'll over draw by only a dollar or two on Wednesday, and on Thursday they charge your account an overdraft fee of almost forty dollars, and my check goes in on Friday morning at 2 am...? What's up with this Bank of America? Y'all are robbing the little man, who lives pay check to pay check, just so y'all's executives can make big bonus checks at the end of the year!!! I think we need to sue again and get some of our money back! I called and told y'all the situation, where I wasn't gonna be able to feed my two babies until Friday and it would be a burden on us because I'm a single father of two and all I got was sorry sir!!! I have only asked twice in the past 8 years and they wouldn't help me. I know it's my fault, but a decent Bank and decent people would have helped a person down on his luck. But all that said it's still an excellent app, just don't expect no compassion from these people.

Every single time I have to use the App it just feels like a headache: 1.) They offer account balance without opening the App, but since the fingerprint login auto loads, you don’t even get the chance to tap the balance button. Dear App development team, just look at the App from Chase Bank, how elegantly they do that. 2.) The Alarms within the App are annoying.I just activated it because I want certain notifications on my lock screen, but within the App you are forced to go to a certain alarm area in order to make the App badges disappear. Pure nonsense. 3.) The App is completely overloaded with all kind of stuff, like promotions for BofA customers from other companies. And all that in the main area. This way the App looks like a website from 1998. With that said I want to point out that the App has ZERO elegance, ZERO smooth and intuitive moving around and ZERO nice design. 4.) There is no possibility to log out of the App from any area in the App, you have to go back multiple pages to the main screen in order to log out. When you finally tap log out a window pops up asking: “Do you really want to log out?” That’s so Microsoft OS !! 5.) in short: terrible app !!!

Paying bills, transferring money is very easy to do:), but sometimes I want to be able to get ?’s answered.. that is not so easy. U can’t always find the answers on here.. so then u have to call a rep, that is awful. Usually after a few transfers a hang up, them calling u back because u don’t want to wait on hold for 20 min?, then u get hung up on again. Then to get something fixed u have to go to a branch office. So?. Mobile banking is good for basic stuff. Also, I feel like when u transfer money? U should have the option to cancel it for up to 24 hours?? There r way to many scams going on & how is a person to protect themselves? The bank doesn’t protect us? Neither does Zelle, I found out today that this company or person that I thought I was getting a puppy from? I got in touch with the real Co & we spoke, she said that these people did this to them last year?? There websites were shut down she thought?? But I let her know they were up & going again?? It’s sad that the government can’t do anything??
Keeps locking my account

BofA- I’ve been a faithful customer for 16 years and have never had the amount of problems with the app that I’m having now. My account keeps locking when I try to authenticate. I walk through the steps to unlock and then it puts me right back in the same loop. The only way to resolve is to call the 800 # and get a temporary passcode (thankfully that process works). After multiple failures, it would appear that it is locking the account / looking for the account details for the first account in alphabetical order (which happens to be a custodial account with my daughter) vs what I expected to be my primary account. I wouldn’t have known this without my account getting locked multiple times and an email stating my account had been locked on my daughters account. Resolution: Let me select the account details I want to provide to unlock my account (which I’m still unsure as to why it is locking). Here’s the user story all written out for you: As a BofA mobile user, I want the ability to select which account details to use to unlock my password so I can use the mobile app. Bonus points if you can fix the bug that keeps locking my account. Help me help you. I’m happy to walk through the scenario with your product team and get to a resolution for all. I’m ready to give you a five star review if we can solve this. Right now my mobile experience is a one star :(

I have always gotten the best service from the bank tellers to Customer Aervice on the phone It doesn’t matter whether it’s first thing in the morning or five minutes before y’all close they are there to help and will do whatever it takes to make their customer happy. I wish y’all hadn’t closed all the drive thru cause it’s so much more convenient especially for people like myself who are in wheelchairs cause sometime when I go to the bank there’s no handicap parking and I have to wait till the people come out before I can park and go in the drive thru were Extremely Convenient but that’s my only complaint I Love all the other things about My Bank Of America Keep up the Amazing Customer Service That We the Customers have grown to Love. PS: if this gets to the right CEO OR Person in control would Consider putting the drive thru back

I love the app and am on it practically every day. The information is posted quickly and so love the deposit feature. My only wish is that the Bank review and update the 90-day average on a daily basis in connection with the various levels. I deposited $20,000 upon receiving a letter that my status was in jeopardy and it literally took more than two months for the website to update my three-month look back period. I was only about $3000 short of the $100k threshold, and if you’re going to send a letter threatening my platinum status, you darn well be calculating and updating the average on a daily basis. Finally, after checking the app each day for more than 2 months, I called the customer support line and they were able to assure me that the Bank knew I had exceeded the threshold and my status was safe. Not a good way to treat your supposed best customers. But other than that, the website is awesome.

I won’t bank anywhere else simply because of this app. It is so easy to use. I can see all of my accounts very quickly, and move money to where I need it in a snap. My favorite feature is categories can be made within an account, so you can set money aside for a vacation or whatever inside an existing account. And I can see how close I am to that goal by setting up my goal amount. Extremely useful. The newest update, the dashboard, allows me to see everything from my account balances my to credit score and how I am doing with my spending all at a glance. BOA is always coming out with new updates for this app and adding new features all the time. The only thing is setting up automatic payments I do through my computer, but that takes no time at all. BOA really offers so many things to help you manage your money better, and this app is the best tool for that I have ever seen. Thank you BOA!!

This app is good, I do standard things on it like transfer between accounts and check my balance. No problems. However, I hate the “Alerts” button is at the top left of the screen. When I click on one of my accounts and go back, you click the arrow on the top left to go back to the main screen. Many times I click the arrow more than once because the screen is not sensitive for some reason, and I end up clicking the alerts button. That button takes me to a different screen that I have to cancel each time, which a pop up comes up to confirm, and then I have to use the arrow AGAIN to go back to the main screen. This happens several times when I use the app and it drives me crazy. Either move the button to a different location on the screen OR just make it so I can go back in 1 click versus 3 clicks. I simply don’t want alerts on my phone. Thank you

To add to the worst review. Let’s not mention that they have taken away all Drive-through and have cut down on the amount of tellers which no matter what time of the day you go there is always a line and wait time is almost 30 minutes. Only reason why I stay is because my mortgage loan is with them and until it’s payed off next year I will surely be moving to another bank myself. The color is already helping the managers a miserable there is no personality smiles greetings no nothing they are definitely miserable at their job. And states constantly being made go in there to pay my credit card bill they end up paying my mortgage with my money then my credit card gets put on hold until they can fix the problem which is taking about a week or so they’ve done this on numerous occasions I hate this bank!!!! I feel bad for the elderly people that now have to stand in line and wait 30 minutes to get to a teller because they can’t go through drive-through because there are not any more seriously what are you people thinking this bank only want you to move to forgetting the mobile app or their ATMs. WORST BANK EVER!!!!!

I appreciate how user friendly the site is and how if you just take your time and read all the tabs on each page you really can do just about everything you need banking wise other than cold hard cash being put in your hand. At first I thought the app wasn’t able to help me with questions I had and frankly I couldn’t navigate through the app because I was in such a hurry and just angry that I couldn’t have everything I wanted at that second. So I called the bank and laid into the rep about how this app is this and that and once I calmed down she asked me what I was looking for. I told her and she seriously said, “do you see on your homepage after you sign in there are 4 tabs at the bottom that say...” I stopped her mid sentence and said, “ok, my bad! If I had only looked, eh I’m sorry for being rude.” It was, everything is, right in your face if you just look. I love the app, I would be lost without it!

This app is so useful for mobile checks and transferring money. So I am willing to admit that they did a great job with that... But I just came here in hopes that BoA would see my comment. BoA- you are thieves. Stop taking my money every month. Why is it fair to charge low-income account holders a $12 monthly fee just to put their money in your bank? If I was rich I wouldn’t have to pay? Guess what- I don’t live in America currently so my paychecks go to a different bank. I have to pay student loans back in the USA which means I get to enjoy sending money to my BoA account every few months. But I guess that isn’t enough for you turds, because you steal my $12 every month. I would happily leave BoA and sign up with a better bank, but living abroad makes that difficult to do, though I plan on it next time I’m home. You guys took hundreds of dollars from my friend who moved to Korea before you started charging (she had two separate accounts and hadn’t been checking them). And yet- people with over $1500 get off free. What are you, a reverse Robin Hood? Get f**cked. Anyway, nice app, kudos to the developers. I hope you don’t charge them monthly fees as well.
Bad review for a good bank

I’ve been with Bank of America since graduating high school. It’s a good service for mobile banking and feels seamless and secure. I’m writing this review because I find a problem with adding my international number in this app. I have investing accounts that I can’t securely verify using my phone number and Bank of America because the BOA app doesn’t allow the input or use of international numbers. While I’m overseas, all of my money is stuck in an account I can’t change because it requires verification with the use of an American type phone number. This problem cuts the usefulness of this app in half, making it less mobile. Not even the actual company accepts international numbers. I would really like this changed. I have to buy a new phone from an American provider while in Europe in order to connect my BOA account with iPhone apps. Luckily, iPhone is helpful with passwords. Otherwise, most people might find this app very useful.

Bank of America is great and they’re cash back rewards credit card has been awesome. BUT why can’t I receive a notification the instant my credit card is used like my Discover or Capital One card?? This seems like a pretty common function and can definitely help users detect fraudulent charges as I may or may not remember what I have purchased a few days down the road when the charges post. Please add this ability to the app! That would be amazing. Aside from that my only other quarrel is that sometimes when I pay my bill there will still be a notification online that says my ebill needs to be paid, if I don’t mark it paid it just sticks around and will even show as being “late”. That always gives me a heart attack so if you could fix that as well that would be great. Overall good app, just needs a little more simplicity with bill notifications and instantaneous charge notifications added and this would easily be a 5 star app in my point of view. Those would be huge customer experience additions!

Both website and app is having serious problem. 1. The forgot passcode/ID feature don’t work even when right information is provided 2. Could not view or download bank statements 3. No reliable contact page. Customer had to wait during nights without 24/7 chat feature.

When touching the alert, another screen comes up showing the individual alert. Tapping any of those will lock up the app. IPadOS 14.0.1. This doesn’t happen in iOS 14.0.1. Per instructions sent by BoA I removed and reinstalled the app. Still the same. Still the same. Every alert ends with a hung App!

Started off fine, woke up with 750$ in my account did a 220$ transaction, next thing you know I’m almost 3 million dollars in debt had a face to face appointment they said 10 days to resolve the issue going on a month account still negative nothing resolved and oh yeah no longer accepting appointments now, waste of time, energy and money, they said someone did a 200$ chargeback from zelle after we did successful business then why not take the 200$ and leave my 330$ and then once my proof weighs out compensate me the other 200$

I am 82 years old and can’t figure out your new technology which was obviously designed for the young tech savy crowed. After nearly 50 years with BOA, I feel my Wells Fargo or Mission Federal accounts are designed for me. I guess I will have to consider weather BOA only wants younger clients.

I use my app every day to keep track of spending and review charges on my account (to make sure I’m not being charged for anything I did not approve of or to be weary of any fraudulent activity). If I have any issues, the app makes it very easy to get into contact with anyone if I need any help! Everyone is always great, friendly and helpful! It’s secure and logs you out of your session if not used for more than a couple of minutes so it’s safe. Thanks BOA!

I love online banking and having access to my funds within the palm of my hands. Over the past few weeks the app has become more and more unavailable and even inaccessible. 3 days straight of no access and no answers is not acceptable. This persisted even a tee online chats and phone calls to the customer service areas that support online applications. Still no admission of a problem. So I’M the issue. That is the impression left when a company who clearly has a technical issue will not say that are experiencing technical issues. Now that I wrote this out; my 3 may be too generous. Look, like everything, when it works it works! When it DOES NOT; shut it down, flag it, fix it and get us back on track. Terribly disappointing experience. Just too much work to move it and I did consider it.

I download the app and get a message before signing in: “Error. We’re sorry, we weren’t able to complete your request. Please Try again. “ then it has a retry button that still doesn’t work! With almost seventeen years of experience with BofA, I have known them to be always a step ahead, setting a bar for other Banks to follow. And this BofA App, it’s simple to use, with all the amenities you require from a Bank, I don’t even need to go to Banking Center. In this Covid19 season, Bank of America still offers superimposed, unprecedented services through this App to customers, making life even easier in difficult times. I ordered a vitamin from online a year ago, and the company tried charging me again just yesterday. Guess what? BofA declined them and notified me on my phone, asking if I authorized the purchase. With just a click, the case was resolved, and with just two more clicks, a new card was underway to me. In the meantime, a representative was awaiting in the Banking Hall even in this Covid19 situation, asking if I needed a Temporary Card. I got there, I entered the Bank. “Hi, welcome to Bank of America, are you Mr. .......”, she asked, “oh yeah I just spoke to you, right?”, she concluded. I left the Bank in just 7 minutes with this 6’ feet almost everywhere 😂. With Banking experience with other five major banks, BankofA sets itself apart, and you don’t have to have millions or thousands to be valued, that’s another thing you can’t compromise. Indeed, I know of no other Banking App available today, which offers so comprehensive, reliable and up to the minute Banking Experience, of so complex a customer’s demand.
New ‘Bill Pay’ is Horrible

The new Bill Pay section is poorly designed trash that has ruined the app experience. Not only is it ugly, it does a poor job of visually integrating with the rest of the app. Clunky and unintuitive, to now make an online payment you must sift through multiple screens, making multiple clicks—all of which is very confusing to the consumer. You now also have to manually assign a “pay by” date to complete the process which is terribly annoying. (The default should be set similar to the pre-updated version that automatically sets the earliest possible date for you. But, still allow a user to manually set their own “pay by” date if needed.) Overall, the former Bill Pay was MUCH easier to utilize and MUCH nicer to look at. To add to the problems, we no longer have the ability to delete old “Pay To” accounts from within the app the way we could previously. Another oversight. BOA has definitely taken steps backwards with this update. If I had to guess, budget cuts forced BOA to begin implementing new app updates via internal junior-level design team, rather than outsourcing to a professional UI/UX firm. As a result, this update has a “beta” feel displaying poor form, function and usability. Really embarrassing for a big bank.

Ok I don’t know if I’m talking about the bank of the Benk’s employees. I walked into the bank branch the other day to make a deposit and the teller convinced me to talk to a small business representative and so I did. The business representative explained to how easy and worth was for me to open a line of credit and before I could think they had me filling an application. On the conversation I explained all my life to the financing agent and said that I did not want a hard inquiry in my credit for no reason. She told me the for her experience and my record with the bank it would not be a problem to get the line of credit. I trusted her and went for it. After 7 days an other agent called me for an interview over the phone and she denied me based on my records; recored that they had access all along. So my review here is for you to be aware of shifting employees in branch who want to make a little extra with total disregard with people’s life. They don’t care if your credit will be damaged or your time wasted all they care is that they make they percentual extra money. Or it could be the bofa system too that operates on forcing them to screw clients with the complete disregard with damaging their personal life. So it could be the bank, the employees or both.

When I finally received my I-Phone, it was time to try banking on line. I downloaded this app & began a totally new adventure. As time provides, I’ve been slowly delving into what I thought would be an amazing experience where banking and bill pay would become easily completed with minimal effort. Wrong, not entirely true. At this point I am frustrated. To simply pay my bills every month, without fumbles, less stress and time, I find out from ALL options, I’m not able to do online banking to pay aforementioned bills because I don’t have the necessary accounts available to do so. I have checking, savings and a fairly healthy CD.....I wonder, why can’t I bank online? Why does it say I’m unable to use this app for online banking because I haven’t the accounts to do so? Huh? What? I’m so confused! I can’t locate the forms I need either....I want to be sure when I pass, my daughter receives all my monies from these “Appropriately Established” accounts! I’ve called 3 times to have the forms mailed to me...to no avail and I’m unable to pay my bills online. I’m disabled, hooked up to oxygen, unable to go into the bank as I mentioned when I called. I was told to open online banking that that would help me handle everything from home. If I figure it out one day, you’ll receive the 5th star. Take care my friend.

I want to acknowledge Daniela (I didn’t catch her last name.) a phone representative of B of A for her incredible knowledge and apparent skills sets that sets her apart from many other people. Upon receiving my call she was well versed on what to do about my issues and took immediate action to reverse a fraudulent erroneous charge to my account. Her demeanor is warm, friendly and I could just imagine her smiling while she was busy helping to close my old card down, reverse the charge, stop this business from ever being able to use my account again and send me a new card. This entire process was less than 10 minutes and my problem was resolved immediately. And this was done in a very professional and proficient manner with that bit of human kindness, and empathy. It’s rare these days to find someone over the phone who is competent and gives you excellent customer service like Daniela. Thank you for your OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! I have bank with this over 20 years for one purpose the bill pay system was great. Made my life easy. I scheduled my bills and the money came out of the account on the day I scheduled them to pay. Life was great. I had control of my life. They changed a perfectly good system for get additional bank fees. The current system ignores your scheduled payment day. It could come out as early as 3 days before your scheduled payment date. I’m sorry that I’m not rich and sometime I live check to check. Which means if I schedule it for a specific day, that the day my paycheck will be there... not 3 days earlier. The control I had help me manage my money better and raised my credit score to over 800. am now looking at other bank system. Their policies have ruined the best bank payment system. You no longer can trust this bank will consider customer the needs. BTW. They charge me for overdraft fees for processing the checks 3 days before I scheduled it on my pay date. When I called and complained, the service agent said they changed the check processing policy to what was convenient for the bank.

I’ve been using the app since it first became available and I’ve been absolutely delighted with it for all of these years of use. Then came version 8.1.12 and the bill pay part of the app went down the toilet. Keeping records of payments off-line is no longer easy. It tells me a payment was scheduled but leaves out the important stuff like to who, how much, and when. I also miss the list of scheduled payments with the total $ amount A quick screenshot used to be able to get and keep a record of off line for a quick reference without having to log in. Pay to, amount, pay date, and $ total all on one page. That was the best part of bill pay and now it’s gone. Ease of use went out the window with this version. It didn’t take long to become frustrated and gave up trying to do the easy and familiar tasks that were perfected over the years. I’m very sorry to see that change overnight. The app designers should be people that actually use the app frequently! Take a step forward and take the Bill Pay section back to what worked well for years!
Lost access to my money due to this bank’s incompetence

I am an over the road truck driver and I work most days. I reported a suspicious charge on my checking account and asked them to block that merchant and not deactivate my debit card. The representative stated my debit card would remain unchanged and able to be used at any debit card terminal, but some idiot cancelled my debit card and mailed a new card to my mailing address in Florida. I drive all around the country so that stupid people like this can have food on their tables. I am a first responder and I save thousands more lives with each trailer load of food than one policebigot does throughout its entire career. I demand fair representation. This bank is unamerican crap, and does not provide reasonable accommodations to truck drivers who are a significant part of the American economy. My father and I are long term customers but as a trucker I just cannot deal with the incompetence of this bank any further so as soon as i get to my second property in El Paso (Monday since all their branches are closed on weekends even though I still work), I intend to go inside the El Paso BofA and demand every penny out of my checking account from the minimum wage idiot and they had better give me every penny. I will be banking with N26 instead. This is not Bank of “America”, this is Bank of Dixie. Dixie is just as bad for the American economy as it was during the Civil War.

I tried to set up auto pay to automatically pay the whole balance every month. No can do. The app automatically schedules the minimum payment every month. No way to change on the app. No help - so far - from customer service. Sad. Here is an update: I got a response from a member of the tech team. It said that the developer needed more information on the type of account. Fair enough. But the response took several days and I was unable to respond to the feedback. Clicking the response link went to a leave feedback general page so the whole thread would have been lost. In the meantime I called the general customer service number. They did not have the information so they referred me to a technical support line which was closed for the evening. I called tech support. They told me what I was trying to do (pay in full every month—less interest fees to the bank) could only be done on the desktop app, not the mobile app. So it is a deficiency in the mobile app. To add insult to injury making this change is not effective immediately or even in a few days but not until the next billing cycle over a month away. Poor technology choices all around. Desktop and mobile apps both. My rating of 2 stars has been confirmed several times over.

I have called tech support twice this morning.. both times representative was confident on the troubleshooting step given. I have three accounts on my phone of those three I can only Send money from two. I was told to uninstall and reinstall as I needed to update app. I did that it didn’t work.. I called back again .. rep tried steps again, she also had me login to webpage. From the webpage on my phone I was able todo the transaction. She had me log out of the mobile app and back in to try it again.. still didn’t work. She then told me that the next option was to restart my phone then she could open a ticket .. but we were talking on so, she would loose the call .. and that she couldn’t call me back.. Most people are in the device they need assistance with. There should be a disclaimer that if you need help with your mobile devices don’t call from it.. like when you call your mobile carrier.. long story short... I have restarted my phone and uninstalled and reinstalled a second time.. I still can’t make the transfer. Disappointed!

This is the glitchiest app I use and it’s frustrating that a mammoth of a financial institution cannot invest in a more robust mobile application. Almost every time I try to use mobile deposit, it hangs up. Usually this happens during the photo step. Often though, I get all the way to the end and try to finish the deposit and I get a pop up message that it failed and to try again later. Sometimes it fails all day and I have to wait until a day or two later. I turn off my phone and try refreshing it that way. I look for updates. Nothing will correct it. So I’m sitting on checks that I can’t deposit unless I go to a branch and that sort of defeats the purpose of a mobile app. Admittedly, I’ve considered switching banks because it’s happening more often now than it did a year or two ago, but I don’t have time to read reviews to see if any other banks have better technology. This is among the most frustrating apps I have. I get anxiety every time I need to deposit because I almost can predict that it’s going to take me all day to try dozens of attempts. It’s like I have to set aside a good time to go to work at it. My brother and daughter use the same bank/app and we recently shared our frustrations so I know it’s not my phone. (Sigh)

I’ve been using the BOA app since it was rolled out. It was good off the bat but upgrades that have been added make banking tasks easier and more accessible. Being able to deposit checks using the app means you can deposit any check instantly if you have internet access. Check your balances, transfer money between your account or to anyone whose bank uses Zelle like BOA does. Dispute transactions, apply for loans, check your portfolio of investments for real time values and much more. Notifications can remind you of regular or irregular payments as they approach and paying your bills is easy. And they make your money safe since you can get notified anytime any thing happens with your money I’d you set your settings up to receive such. notications. Never make a late payment again and watch your credit rating shoot up if you issues around remembering when to mail payments . Last you always have real time balances of all your accounts Off all the apps I have, the BOA app is one of the very best out there.
The iPad Version seems like a afterthought

Love the iPhone version, but 3 stars for the iPad version. It behaves a bit oddly as far as rendering things nicely on the screen and it is only optimized for portrait mode - when you go into landscape mode it isn’t full screen, and things are cut off - not as polished as it needs to be. The iPad has had a dedicated keyboard and new iPads have an even better keyboard coming out, they should update the app to behave at its full potential in landscape mode. As an aside - and not related to the three stars. Since there is no official platform to address the Desktop site, I wanted to highlight something that I have noticed and hope the Desktop team fixes it. It looks like BofA is going through a design update but only parts of the site are done. For example, Budgets and Goals pages feature a full width toolbar, updated sizing and generally look modern, whereas the account overview page (basically the homepage you get when you log in) and every other page still has the centered 90s toolbar and super small objects and font. Hoping they switch the entire site over to the new face-lifted look. Thinking back I think Goals, Budgets and maybe Statements feature this new style.

PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! Bring back the ability to sign in with fingerprint! I had to upgrade my iPhone at the end of last year. I was able to sign in using my fingerprint like I did with my iPhone 5, but that soon changed. I’m assuming there was a software update for my phone because at some time in Jan 2018, I was no longer able to sign in. I had a heck of a time with it and tried getting help through customer service (phone call) AND visiting a local branch to try to figure out how to get the option to open the app with my fingerprint, again. The branch people were just as frustrated as I was and said that you all were probably aware of the problem and working on it. We’re almost 9 months later and still no fix in sight. Frustration #2: I had to come up with a new password and it has so many stipulations on what it can or cannot be that I ended up choosing one that Apple produced for me. Do you know how frustrating it is to have to recall this new, convoluted password EVERY DANG TIME I need to access my account from the app?!?!?! With all said, I like the ease of use of the app once I’m in it. But I rarely use it any more. At least I’m now able to see my balances with a tap, but it sure is perplexing why you allow that but I cannot make a deposit without having to sign in?!?!?? Bizarre....

So the app was my favorite finance app: all the info in one place, easy to view and navigate. Until the “Erica” feature was launched. I’m not sure what the value-add is; I don’t want to talk to my phone about my banking, or spend time typing in questions, when you can get to pretty much everything with a few taps. The biggest pain point is that there obviously wasn’t much thought put into the Erica UI. There’s just this big red button that hovers over your screen, and - get this! - there’s NO WAY TO GET RID OF IT. Either it’s in the way of the balances you’re tying to view, or you drag it out of your way with every screen you go to. Not to mention that its default position is right where people who hold phones in their right hands swipe to scroll. One accidental tap and you’ve got this thing talking to you. I get it, some people like to talk about their banking out loud (and sometimes even in public, which doesn’t seem like the best idea). And some people get into Siri-like interfaces to apps. This one feels like someone at BofA decided they needed a shiny AI app so they could be like the cool kids, but forgot to budget for finding out what their consumers actually wanted.

I use this app all the time and have had a lot of success with it. There are 2 things about this app I would change if I could... 1) In online bill pay when you use the desktop version you can see when your last payment was sent and for how much under the payee information. On the app you have to click on the payee information to see it which opens a payment that you have to cancel out of if you don’t want to actually make a payment. It’s lots of clicks and it would just be easier if recent payment information was listed under each payee when you are in the online bill pay screen in the app. 2) I wish I did not have a monthly mobile deposit limit. My husband works out of state which is the main reason we use a national bank like BOA, but he is currently in a state with no BOA and when he gets paid off of a job he has to snail mail me the check so I can go to a banking center or ATM to deposit it after we hit the online mobile deposit limit which is usually the first week of a new month. Why is a limit necessary?! Other than that I love the app and use it all the time!

I have used billpay at work and at home thru Suntrust Bank, Wells Fargo and small local banks. Bank of America has the easiest online billpay to navigate. Once you realize that certain features have to be accomplished on a laptop or desktop computer for security, it’s a whiz to use a cell phone or iPad, etc. to do your online banking, including deposits of checks. I am one of the older seniors (73 years old) who is very adept with computers, although most people assume that if you’re over 60 you don’t know how to use a computer, nor are you able to learn. I just call BofA support anytime there’s a change and I don’t want to spend the time to navigate the new feature and I’m helped within 5 to 10 minutes.
“View all” and search is very sparse!

Arbitrarily showing only 3 months of transactions on the accounts transactions search page is not useful, especially for savings accounts. Loading 25 more, and then 25 more, and then 25 more, similarly is a poor interface (after I’ve already clicked “view all” NOT “view a handful” or “view only 90 days’ worth without an option to search beyond the pittance that’s already been loaded.” Please just provide the same viewing and searching features that are available on the computer (or that were already available many years ago when online banking was in its infancy—why are our iPhones LESS capable vis-a-vis BofA than a computer from 2010?). Don’t get me wrong, I do appreciate the online statements in PDF, but the iPhone app _should_ also be made useful for quick searching, etc., of past transactions. Trying to go month-by-month in PDF statements is not fun on the iPhone, when the broader view/search technology would be easy and obvious to implement. It’s bad enough that you keep the inane “view all” button at all, as if the majority of users looking for recent activity only want to see six to ten transactions...

I really like dealing with a lot of the customers, I also especially like Pedro he works inside of the bank here in Altamonte Springs . Pedro truly deserves a raise or a promotion ,but I never get any surveys on him, even though I was told that I would . He’s been very helpful too us from day one since we moved here too Altamonte Springs Fla. He’s a really kind hearted person and he understands my needs . He’s helpful young man ,he listens too my situations and understand everything I’m trying too get done . And he takes care of us . My husband and I will continue too support Bank of America by trusting them with our money. As long as Pedro is working there. We trust him and enjoy working with him . I Pray he’s given a promotion because I was told I would get a survey on him but I’ve never gotten one, and that’s been since July . It’s October 1st tomorrow and still as of today still no survey on Pedro . But yes he deserves a promotion or a raise because he’s truly good at what he does for Bank of America. Your app never seems to work. Every time I go to open it it no longer recognizes my user ID or password. It doesn't even recognize the fingerprint anymore. I have to reset things every time by deleting and reinstalling. This is ridiculous. I don't know what you did to the app but whatever you did you ruined it because it just doesn't work. I can assure you that I want to use an app and if this thing does not start working properly I will change all four of my accounts over to another bank that has an app that does work. I'm updating my review. The stupid thing still doesn't work right. I have to constantly re-do the installation and place user names and passwords in. Twice I've had to change the password for no reason other than the stupid app can't recognize it. Fire your IT people and hire some new ones Wanted to update. Working great after the above problems finally resolved. My only complaint is they still don’t have a place for a memo when you write a check in the app. Seems like a logical thing to put there. I’ve requested it several times but to no avail.

How hard is it to make a SIMPLE app?! After the most recent update, I wanted to pay my BOA credit card bill through this stupid app, and I’m not allowed to pay using the former straight forward method, instead, it forced me to add my BOA credit card as a payee in the Bill Pay section, which is so stupid: why do I have to add the BOA as a payee when I’m already using the BOA app?!?! OK, fine, I did it since I don’t have a choice, however, after all these hassle, I found that I’m only allowed to pay from my newly opened BOA checking account, which I have no money there! I can’t pay from other checking accounts, I spent almost half an hour exploring this over complicated stupid app, and clearly there is no other way to pay except through Bill Pay, and there is absolutely no way to pay from any other checking accounts beside the BOA one! I have 5 credit cards from 5 different financial companies, and I use 5 different apps every month to pay my bills and do other stuffs, clearly this BOA app is THE WORST I ever used! To many useless features that no one will ever use, and the user interface is not just bad, it is awful! Whoever develops this app and this awful UI should be ashamed by yourselves! THIS APP IS A DISASTER!

Updated rating: the app now has the option to hide the annoying bot button, as noted by the developer response to this review. Odd that it’s not in the version history for the app. ——- The app is largely fine for basic banking transactions (transfer funds, check balances or transactions, deposit checks via phone camera), but the introduction of the bothersome “Erica” bot is an unnecessary annoyance: the button to engage is overlaid on the actual banking content making it easy to accidentally trigger or covering details you actually want; there’s no way to disable it as “Erica” will helpfully confirm; and the bot is sometimes displayed as an even larger block of promotional text. Having a chatbot may be useful to customers for selected services that would otherwise require a call, but forcing everyone to engage with it regardless of their current task in the app is quite a user-hostile implementation. I can only speculate that some poor middle manager on Bank of America’s app or marketing team has new job performance metrics tied to the number of Erica button clicks.

Yes so I love the app and all the features that come with the app just like any other banking app. The pros is that it has added security and you are given offers for local deals. That is a huge bonus for me and also the feature where you can send and receive money through Zelle. Now the cons I have especially recently is the notifications doesn’t seem to update in a timely manner. Meaning I’ll go and click on the bell and the notifications will be blue, so I click on them and my bell doesn’t have any alerts. However I can go back on there an hour later and those same notifications will pop back up unread. It’s quite annoying seeming mine is now at 20+ notifications that “hasn’t been opened”. Another issue I’ve had is trying to receive money on Zelle a few times. I’m not sure if we can only receive money from an a like account or someone who also has BOA or what. If that is the case it would be appreciated if you all considered expanding that, but if that’s not the case then maybe you guys should consider making an easier process for someone receiving money through Zelle.

This app is advertised as giving up-to-the-minute information on your account; that is misleading. I have ran into a lot of trouble because of that promise about this app, and that is causing me to move all my banking needs elsewhere having confirmed from Bank of America customer associates on several calls that I should not rely on the app for the real-time information on my account. Repeatedly, I have relied on the information provided by this app on my account only to wake up to surprising charges. Even when I go to bed with a positive balance on the app, I still end up with overdraft charges the next morning, referencing transactions that never showed up on the app. It’s almost at the point where I now feel that lag in giving up-to-date status of accounts on the app is intentional. For Small Business Owners just starting out and juggling finances, this app will ensure you keep you losing money. I’ve started the process of moving my banking needs elsewhere, and it is very sad because I thought Bank Of America really cared about small business owners, and I was wrong. Whatever you do, don’t rely on this app to give you the advertised up-to-the-minute update on your account as advertised.

Bank/app takes too long to post my spendings. I always think I have more than I actually end up having. Not sure how that happens. They blame the places, the places blame the bank. It actually makes sense it’s the bank, bc the places request money right away when swiping card, it’s the bank deciding of when they release money, but also it’s more of when they want to say they paid it. Unless really checked thoroughly in an internal audit that is honest and fair, you don’t know if they are handling your account fairly really. Why DOES it take it so long for transactions to post??? It’s in “processing” for almost 3 days sometimes! There’s other sketchy things I’ve noticed about bank also that I’m looking into. As I actually feel they’re stealing money from me that way, bc one example, if deposit more into account to cover any costs for the future, it deducts from there and all of a sudden the balance prior to deposit, was no more what it was. I will look more into it in my next coming purchases, and then will have to report. This more of a complaint against the bank than app. But bank actually deserves -1 Star so will note it anywhere it has to do with bank until I get to consumer affairs about how they handle accounts.

The app is fine it works as well as you’d expect. It gives you the answers to questions the bank wants you to ask. It shows you all your accounts at once so you can see that despite having thousands of dollars in one account the bank didn’t transfer any of it over to your other account. But hey, I can clearly see the -$35 overdraft fee. Kudos BofA you act really fast, I was only overdrawn for a couple of hours in the middle of the night, but luckily your computers never sleep so the overdraft was lightning fast followed quickly by a second one. Hey I spent $70 in my sleep. On nothing. Cool! But the app, yes the app is awesome I can transfer money from my phone. Only $1000 a day of course - the bank knows I don’t need anymore than that. The app is great with sending me messages. They are always 6 or 7 hours after the fact, but hey what’s the rush right? I can also deposit money with a click of my phone camera which is great. Of course the money still takes 3 days to hit my account, but it’s okay the bank knows I can wait - what other option do I have? Right! 😂 So all in all I’d recommend the app to anyone who is interested in watching their bank balance deteriorate in real time. Or who likes talking to chatbots named Erica.

The new mobile app for online bill pay is ridiculous. Screwed up my billing twice by not listing ALL outgoing payments in the same place under “Activity” and instead , as I’m now understanding, it puts payments sent by check in another location in the app. It does not allow you to manage your bills accurately. When you have 10 different credit cards, utility bills etc, it is VITAL to be able to have all outgoing payments listed TOGETHER BY DATE. When I called to complain about a payment that hadn’t been listed that I’d missed because of that, the customer service rep out in Virginia at the 800 number was rude and condescending and argued that I had “used the wrong word” to describe the issue. I’ve been baking with BOA since 2004 and never have had any representative of the bank behave so horribly. He needs to be fired as he does NOT belong in customer service. I’m at my branch now trying to get this handled, and if I am charged an overdraft fee, I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

I’ve used all the banks in my area and finally decided to try BOA about 4 years ago. I’m so glad I did. The app is my brick and mortar bank now. I rarely have to go to the actual bank now because the app is so convenient and has so many services I can complete online. So I’ve opened a credit card, transferred my savings, my business, along with my checking and now my family and friends are too. I have to give a shout out to their customer service at the actual bank as well. People complain about not having a local “down home” type bank, well surprisingly, BOA employees always treat me like I’m a friend or neighbor, and I’m hardly ever there. The other banks charge money for things that are simply everyday transactions at BOA. Plus, the limits on things like transfers, sending money are higher (thus more convenient) than the other banks, and they’re mostly FREE! I’ve watched my friends and family complain about paying for simple stuff and I keep saying,”go to BOA.” I have the ability to transfer cash for free to anyone just by using their cell phone or email and it’s totally free. I have saved so much money in gas and time because I can pay someone to start a job for me without having to wait to drop off or mail a check. Phenomenal stuff!!! The app is easy to use and if I ever have a question I just call and they’re customer service is incredible. They always beat my expectations. I highly recommend this app and BOA!

I like the convenience of the mobile App. Especially when I don’t want to go out to Deposit a check. Now if you could only dispense money from my phone !! Customer service is as the previous reviewer claims - but no different from any other bank or business. It would be so innovative if a business took the lead and stated to their customers that they would provide THE BEST customer service and actually have a real person answering the phone when you call. People usually call with a specific problem or question that is NEVER included in the phone prompts. I just want to speak to someone right away because i know what my issue is and if I can TELL someone right away it would save a lot of time and aggravation for both parties. Just think of how happy your customers would be. And happy customers mean happy employees. It is a WIN WiN compromise. Thanks for giving me time and place to speak my mind. PS. I still do like the mobile APP!!
A issue with fund transfer

This is a great app. It's designed so meticulously that I would like to congratulate the development team of BoA. However, since last few months I’m not able to do funds transfer to a payee registered with bank of america account number. Everything goes fine until the step where it says that enter the safe passcode sent to your mobile number to complete the transfer but it never sends the safe passcode and the transfer can’t be completed. I called the support team and the agent told me that using the mobile app you can transfer funds to recipient registered with mobile or email only. It can’t be transferred to a recipient registered with bank account number. This was all working for last 3 years and now it’s stopped. I don’t have any communication from the bank about this neither it gives such information while initiating the transfer from the mobile app. The same works well from the desktop website or from mobile website. I don’t understand why it has been blocked in the App without any appropriate communication. Hopefully, someone in customer care team looks at this and resolves the issue.

Bank of America is my bank. I’m very proud to have my accounts in there at this bank, but this app does need some improvements. The first improvement that I would say is that it needs to make sure that he has an in-house budgeting system. The budgeting system that is used by Bank of America is to me outsourced, and it’s something that I think needs to be more in-house than something they used to second a.m. I also think that the checks need to be processed a lot faster when you snap A picture of it. Waiting anywhere from 3 to 5 days seem ridiculous in this age of instant. I think that something that needs to be improved. Overall, I do like this app. It’s one of the better banking app set out there, and it’s one of the apps that I actually will put together a digital assistant for you so that you can actually figure out what you’re doing. Overall download the app but make sure that you hold this bank accountable for keeping up to speed with the latest advancements.

Also gets glitchy. Can’t reset pw fully with it syncing to the actual BoA site. Several times over past months. Have to log into browser. Delete old app. Reinstall new. 45 minutes of tech support and guy got offended when I told him maybe to outsource so new developers so BoA can have a banking app that actually reliably works. @ MIke: yes, of course I tried using the touch ID but that only worked for about 3 days and then no longer (?). I DID try to reset the pw via the app- several times with rebooting included. Although it looked like it took the pw & I received the text key, etc... it did not store the new pw. Every time I went to log in, even when pw reset from tech support, it took me to the enter acct # /ssn page. When on browser site, I tried using the new pw that I created and it didn’t take saying had to be different. Obviously the app synced with BoA on some level however nothing, again, worked in the app. With over 17+ yrs in wireless/global regulatory type approval, I am not a newbie re: proper app functionality. You guys should really FIX the bugs in these apps because it’s creating a wretched experience for small business owners like myself.

I think it’s a little dated to think you can’t change your due date with the app. Shockingly enough you can’t even do this in the online account. They make you call there customer service line for this. I hope BOA crawls out from the Stone Age. The app and he o line banking portal seem outdated. The “payment due” notification doesn’t communicate with whether you already paid the bill and if can scare you when you say “past due” in the reminder section when really you just didn’t do the extra step to mark it as completed. Also I’m noticing almost all banks now offer a customer loyalty for making on-time payments and such to allow customers to apply for a credit line increase without a hard pull. Many of the other banks use a soft pull as if you yourself are checking your free FICO if they really want to look at your credit but even that is very rare most companies base it on good account history and customer loyalty. Just waiting for BOA to catch up with their competition. Hopefully someone with authority sees this review and makes a difference to bring the company to the competitive playing field

BofA you’ve created a monster. Erica is a nuisance. This app doesn’t need its personal Siri. The worst part is, you can’t turn her presence on the screen off even after you “unenroll” in her; that is, I didn’t enroll, but BofA did for me. This is a gimmick and has only surface value. It looks good and glitzy on the functionalities list, but serves no benefit to the end user. The app is great apait’s easy enough to navigate as it is; the “digital assistant” trend is a rapidly-dying trend. Let’s hang them up. Capital One is putting BofA to shame by their unnerving support for the Capitals Stanley Cup campaign this year. Let’s not mention their inhumane interest rates here I guess 😏😬. Also WHY WHY WHY is there no option to turn off the equally irrelevant and absurdly persistent “for your security,...inactivity” notification!!!! ITS 2018. PLEASE. The goal is to create things that save us time, not waste it. After all, time is the most valuable thing a person can respect for another.

I have banked with BofA for many years. I bank with a competitor bank as well. BofA stands out as the clear customer service winner. I took off one star for the older technology with my credit card. Every other card I have can be locked online by me for any reason. Only Bank of America will not give me that feature. When I tried to address the issue with the card representative I was given a bogus excuse. Bank of America should learn that there is no excuse to not provide their customers with this type of convenience and that the other cards have better technology the more control that you put in the customers hands the better the product will be liked and accepted and secure. I neglected my BofA cards and elected to use other cards because I have to be much more careful with them being that the only option is just shut down my BofA debit card and all the rest of my credit cards just to lock down one card so that I can investigate a charge.

It’s pretty slow on my 2017 iPhone SE. Everything is slow: launching the app, authorization, working in the app. I activated push notifications to follow my balance - the thing appeared to be inconvenient. It keeps sending me notifications every day but I want to be notified only when money is set to be withdrawn from my account. And again, any time I get a notification an annoying little red circle appears next to the app’s icon. To get rid of it I need to go to the app and “read” the notification in it which is an annoying thing to do every day because the app is so slow. There is a huge list of options when you are setting up push notifications. Many of them are not intelligible. This list needs to be redone: it needs to be brief and include only understandable and necessary options. The good thing about the app is the AI helper (I think they call it Emma) which they introduced recently. It is extremely helpful. It’s fast and really does what I ask it to do. I also don’t like the design, but it might be subjective though ...

I just hate how you'll over draw by only a dollar or two on Wednesday, and on Thursday they charge your account an overdraft fee of almost forty dollars, and my check goes in on Friday morning at 2 am...? What's up with this Bank of America? Y'all are robbing the little man, who lives pay check to pay check, just so y'all's executives can make big bonus checks at the end of the year!!! I think we need to sue again and get some of our money back! I called and told y'all the situation, where I wasn't gonna be able to feed my two babies until Friday and it would be a burden on us because I'm a single father of two and all I got was sorry sir!!! I have only asked twice in the past 8 years and they wouldn't help me. I know it's my fault, but a decent Bank and decent people would have helped a person down on his luck. But all that said it's still an excellent app, just don't expect no compassion from these people.

Every single time I have to use the App it just feels like a headache: 1.) They offer account balance without opening the App, but since the fingerprint login auto loads, you don’t even get the chance to tap the balance button. Dear App development team, just look at the App from Chase Bank, how elegantly they do that. 2.) The Alarms within the App are annoying.I just activated it because I want certain notifications on my lock screen, but within the App you are forced to go to a certain alarm area in order to make the App badges disappear. Pure nonsense. 3.) The App is completely overloaded with all kind of stuff, like promotions for BofA customers from other companies. And all that in the main area. This way the App looks like a website from 1998. With that said I want to point out that the App has ZERO elegance, ZERO smooth and intuitive moving around and ZERO nice design. 4.) There is no possibility to log out of the App from any area in the App, you have to go back multiple pages to the main screen in order to log out. When you finally tap log out a window pops up asking: “Do you really want to log out?” That’s so Microsoft OS !! 5.) in short: terrible app !!!

Paying bills, transferring money is very easy to do:), but sometimes I want to be able to get ?’s answered.. that is not so easy. U can’t always find the answers on here.. so then u have to call a rep, that is awful. Usually after a few transfers a hang up, them calling u back because u don’t want to wait on hold for 20 min?, then u get hung up on again. Then to get something fixed u have to go to a branch office. So?. Mobile banking is good for basic stuff. Also, I feel like when u transfer money? U should have the option to cancel it for up to 24 hours?? There r way to many scams going on & how is a person to protect themselves? The bank doesn’t protect us? Neither does Zelle, I found out today that this company or person that I thought I was getting a puppy from? I got in touch with the real Co & we spoke, she said that these people did this to them last year?? There websites were shut down she thought?? But I let her know they were up & going again?? It’s sad that the government can’t do anything??
Keeps locking my account

BofA- I’ve been a faithful customer for 16 years and have never had the amount of problems with the app that I’m having now. My account keeps locking when I try to authenticate. I walk through the steps to unlock and then it puts me right back in the same loop. The only way to resolve is to call the 800 # and get a temporary passcode (thankfully that process works). After multiple failures, it would appear that it is locking the account / looking for the account details for the first account in alphabetical order (which happens to be a custodial account with my daughter) vs what I expected to be my primary account. I wouldn’t have known this without my account getting locked multiple times and an email stating my account had been locked on my daughters account. Resolution: Let me select the account details I want to provide to unlock my account (which I’m still unsure as to why it is locking). Here’s the user story all written out for you: As a BofA mobile user, I want the ability to select which account details to use to unlock my password so I can use the mobile app. Bonus points if you can fix the bug that keeps locking my account. Help me help you. I’m happy to walk through the scenario with your product team and get to a resolution for all. I’m ready to give you a five star review if we can solve this. Right now my mobile experience is a one star :(

I have been with Bank Of America For over 10 years. I have always gotten the best service from the bank tellers to Customer Aervice on the phone It doesn’t matter whether it’s first thing in the morning or five minutes before y’all close they are there to help and will do whatever it takes to make their customer happy. I wish y’all hadn’t closed all the drive thru cause it’s so much more convenient especially for people like myself who are in wheelchairs cause sometime when I go to the bank there’s no handicap parking and I have to wait till the people come out before I can park and go in the drive thru were Extremely Convenient but that’s my only complaint I Love all the other things about My Bank Of America Keep up the Amazing Customer Service That We the Customers have grown to Love. PS: if this gets to the right CEO OR Person in control would Consider putting the drive thru back

I love the app and am on it practically every day. The information is posted quickly and so love the deposit feature. My only wish is that the Bank review and update the 90-day average on a daily basis in connection with the various levels. I deposited $20,000 upon receiving a letter that my status was in jeopardy and it literally took more than two months for the website to update my three-month look back period. I was only about $3000 short of the $100k threshold, and if you’re going to send a letter threatening my platinum status, you darn well be calculating and updating the average on a daily basis. Finally, after checking the app each day for more than 2 months, I called the customer support line and they were able to assure me that the Bank knew I had exceeded the threshold and my status was safe. Not a good way to treat your supposed best customers. But other than that, the website is awesome.

I won’t bank anywhere else simply because of this app. It is so easy to use. I can see all of my accounts very quickly, and move money to where I need it in a snap. My favorite feature is categories can be made within an account, so you can set money aside for a vacation or whatever inside an existing account. And I can see how close I am to that goal by setting up my goal amount. Extremely useful. The newest update, the dashboard, allows me to see everything from my account balances my to credit score and how I am doing with my spending all at a glance. BOA is always coming out with new updates for this app and adding new features all the time. The only thing is setting up automatic payments I do through my computer, but that takes no time at all. BOA really offers so many things to help you manage your money better, and this app is the best tool for that I have ever seen. Thank you BOA!!

This app is good, I do standard things on it like transfer between accounts and check my balance. No problems. However, I hate the “Alerts” button is at the top left of the screen. When I click on one of my accounts and go back, you click the arrow on the top left to go back to the main screen. Many times I click the arrow more than once because the screen is not sensitive for some reason, and I end up clicking the alerts button. That button takes me to a different screen that I have to cancel each time, which a pop up comes up to confirm, and then I have to use the arrow AGAIN to go back to the main screen. This happens several times when I use the app and it drives me crazy. Either move the button to a different location on the screen OR just make it so I can go back in 1 click versus 3 clicks. I simply don’t want alerts on my phone. Thank you

To add to the worst review. Let’s not mention that they have taken away all Drive-through and have cut down on the amount of tellers which no matter what time of the day you go there is always a line and wait time is almost 30 minutes. Only reason why I stay is because my mortgage loan is with them and until it’s payed off next year I will surely be moving to another bank myself. The color is already helping the managers a miserable there is no personality smiles greetings no nothing they are definitely miserable at their job. And states constantly being made go in there to pay my credit card bill they end up paying my mortgage with my money then my credit card gets put on hold until they can fix the problem which is taking about a week or so they’ve done this on numerous occasions I hate this bank!!!! I feel bad for the elderly people that now have to stand in line and wait 30 minutes to get to a teller because they can’t go through drive-through because there are not any more seriously what are you people thinking this bank only want you to move to forgetting the mobile app or their ATMs. WORST BANK EVER!!!!!

I appreciate how user friendly the site is and how if you just take your time and read all the tabs on each page you really can do just about everything you need banking wise other than cold hard cash being put in your hand. At first I thought the app wasn’t able to help me with questions I had and frankly I couldn’t navigate through the app because I was in such a hurry and just angry that I couldn’t have everything I wanted at that second. So I called the bank and laid into the rep about how this app is this and that and once I calmed down she asked me what I was looking for. I told her and she seriously said, “do you see on your homepage after you sign in there are 4 tabs at the bottom that say...” I stopped her mid sentence and said, “ok, my bad! If I had only looked, eh I’m sorry for being rude.” It was, everything is, right in your face if you just look. I love the app, I would be lost without it!
Great app, terrible bank

This app is so useful for mobile checks and transferring money. So I am willing to admit that they did a great job with that... But I just came here in hopes that BoA would see my comment. BoA- you are thieves. Stop taking my money every month. Why is it fair to charge low-income account holders a $12 monthly fee just to put their money in your bank? If I was rich I wouldn’t have to pay? Guess what- I don’t live in America currently so my paychecks go to a different bank. I have to pay student loans back in the USA which means I get to enjoy sending money to my BoA account every few months. But I guess that isn’t enough for you turds, because you steal my $12 every month. I would happily leave BoA and sign up with a better bank, but living abroad makes that difficult to do, though I plan on it next time I’m home. You guys took hundreds of dollars from my friend who moved to Korea before you started charging (she had two separate accounts and hadn’t been checking them). And yet- people with over $1500 get off free. What are you, a reverse Robin Hood? Get f**cked. Anyway, nice app, kudos to the developers. I hope you don’t charge them monthly fees as well.
Bad review for a good bank

I’ve been with Bank of America since graduating high school. It’s a good service for mobile banking and feels seamless and secure. I’m writing this review because I find a problem with adding my international number in this app. I have investing accounts that I can’t securely verify using my phone number and Bank of America because the BOA app doesn’t allow the input or use of international numbers. While I’m overseas, all of my money is stuck in an account I can’t change because it requires verification with the use of an American type phone number. This problem cuts the usefulness of this app in half, making it less mobile. Not even the actual company accepts international numbers. I would really like this changed. I have to buy a new phone from an American provider while in Europe in order to connect my BOA account with iPhone apps. Luckily, iPhone is helpful with passwords. Otherwise, most people might find this app very useful.
Needs Better Notification Options!

Bank of America is great and they’re cash back rewards credit card has been awesome. BUT why can’t I receive a notification the instant my credit card is used like my Discover or Capital One card?? This seems like a pretty common function and can definitely help users detect fraudulent charges as I may or may not remember what I have purchased a few days down the road when the charges post. Please add this ability to the app! That would be amazing. Aside from that my only other quarrel is that sometimes when I pay my bill there will still be a notification online that says my ebill needs to be paid, if I don’t mark it paid it just sticks around and will even show as being “late”. That always gives me a heart attack so if you could fix that as well that would be great. Overall good app, just needs a little more simplicity with bill notifications and instantaneous charge notifications added and this would easily be a 5 star app in my point of view. Those would be huge customer experience additions!
