Good game, but loses enjoyment with coding
by jghorton on 2021/05/07 15:26
Two major problems are: (1) persistently “rebalances the table” with no corresponding increase in original value of 1st, 2nd, 3rd place wins; (2) significant inconsistency in a multiple raise ‘traps’, based on the value of the online player ‘s hand (ie, game players repeatedly make baseless raises, until the online player is all-in, and then simply fold as if working as a team to beat the online player!
Unrealistic
by hunter3358 on 2021/05/06 20:17
If you’re looking for a realistic poker game this is not it. The bots will bet $400-700 pre flop it gets frustrating as crap.
Happy to play it all the time. Good presentation to your customers.

Best game. Keep up with good updates.
Don’t make ‘me like this anymore.
by LovinMusicMajor on 2021/05/02 23:14
A classic they’re still brings me joy every time I play it. They don’t make them like this anymore. Apple needs to get back into the gaming business.
Two many bad beats
by ckaybee on 2021/05/02 08:01
It happens too often that a hand is lost on the river. The AI stays in with terrible hands, and with incredibly long odds, wins on the river. The app is still very enjoyable, but the above mentioned flaw makes it difficult to apply basic poker strategy.

Very good casual poker game
by PaterNovem on 2021/04/16 23:47
I like the play, both in the overhead view and the face to face view. However, 2 things stand out that I wish could be adjusted. 1. When you fold, you don’t get to see how the rest of the hand plays out. You fold and there are 4 other players, it jumps immediately to the lay down. In the case of everyone else folding, you don’t get to see how the bets transpire. 2. In the face to face, same issue as above. And when you stay in and go to the lay down, if it is more than two players at the end, it is hard to tell who played what because it doesn’t show them in relation to the other players. Almost forgot... doesn’t sync between iPhone and iPad... which seems strange for an Apple app.
Name in avatar
by 1.?z on 2021/04/14 22:42
Can’t figure out how-to put name and use the comment part in the avatars spot I think someone controls this game. I get crappy cards all the time after folding continuous times to get decent cards .when I first started playing it seems like I was winning all the time
Cards not dealt randomly
by itisfreesowhatever on 2021/04/11 16:31
The more aggressively you play the more the cards come in your favor. I have repetitively had hands that should be 80% winners that are consistently 80% losers. You can’t play conservatively or you will lose
Nice to have it back

Poor AI
by Leafs fan '81 on 2021/04/03 03:56
Poor AI that bids too high to often; it’s like those players in real life who go all in without looking at their cards. The game is playable, but annoying. No point in playing strategically. I wanted to give it a two star rating, but bumped it up to three because of the videos of the characters your playing against, which gives it a funny feel. Not a bad game, but not good either. If this game had cost money I’d be demanding my money back, but as is it’s mediocre. I’ve played better, but also played worse.

Solid Game
by scorhan on 2021/03/15 02:06
No advertising, fun to play, etc. I will say the player AI could use some work. Impossible calls - on Ice Bar I have a pair on turn, move all in for $2k (no flush, straight possible) - computer calls with J,7 (no flush, straight possible) with no pair and hits 7 on the river.. come on man.
AIs

Nice of them to bring back a game I paid for
by Jester980 on 2021/03/12 07:24
I loved this game when iPhone apps first came out. The real question is why did an Apple game I paid ever leave the App Store in the first place.
Yes!
by jbl1975 on 2021/03/12 06:15
I used to looooove this app game. I’m not sure if I misunderstood by them saying ..we’re back”, that being the reason why I could not find this game for years and thinking I was a perfect idiot. Hey not that this disproves that but we can feel a little better now. Anywho, very thankful to the developers, the world in hardship as it is, and this game being one of, even if minuscule, life’s little-to-no-effort pleasures of owning an apple product. Gee I mean after my idk how many now products purchased from them, I hope I’ve earned it ;)
Annoying reminder...
by Stinki222 on 2021/03/12 03:54
At first I was annoyed about the ‘Tap the screen to continue.’ popping up too soon, staying too long and blocking the cards on the table. I thought you should be able to shut that off so I looked in settings and you can. Cool! My only complaint taken care of.
Why?
by app is free but worthless on 2021/03/07 18:23
Put it back on my iPad after removing it because of “the rare one-outer” always hitting. Played 1 tournament and will remove again. Same story. Lost to a one-out card on the river. Not sure why app is programmed to smoke a customer on the river at a consistent basis. Seems like they don’t want me to play here. OKAY, I WONT!
Doesn’t count kickers of high hands
by Anonymous User 23579 on 2021/03/05 13:52
The poker logic is flawed. Was just involved in a hand where I had AK and my opponent has AQ. The board showed 8 7 6 3 2. I should have won the hand with my K kicker being higher than my opponent’s Q kicker. But this game split the pot evenly between us. Apparently, it only looks at the high card and doesn’t take the kickers into account. Please fix the poker logic. Also, for some reason, the game music no longer plays. Changing it in settings doesn’t fix it.
Very good version

by UDMF's on 2021/02/14 02:13
I played and greatly enjoyed this game a decade ago and missed its presence from the App Store while it was gone. Sadly this new version “balances” the table by bringing in additional replacement players as you beat the others and they are eliminated. What kind of crap is that???? Much of poker is a battle of attrition - especially in this version where to place in the money you must finish in the top 3. My strategy has often been to let the more reckless players eliminate each other and conserve enough chips to finish. I’m greatly disappointed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Flash back! What a hoot!
by Lil' Sylvie on 2021/02/06 23:10
love it except does not sync across devices in the same cloud. App loads to all devices but each then runs separate. Yo Apple what’s up with that????? So you get only 4 stars
Not pure
by Leecrowell on 2021/02/04 22:28
I could be wrong but after more than 20 hours of playing Apple Hold Em I see patterns in how the cards are dealt. I don’t believe the cards are dealt purely at random. I’ve correctly predicted a number of times how the turn and river cards would come out. Everything else about this game is far superior to all the others. Please Apple don’t try to manipulate the game.

by ocamann jr on 2021/02/04 05:21
Ok awesome
Ok game but not a realistic simulation
by JJ Skywalker on 2021/01/29 21:10
The npcs are pretty decent as far betting tendencies and being consistent. It is the cards I have an issue with. If you play a light hand (with slight odds advantage) and it goes to a showdown, 7/10 the npc is going to beat your hand on one of the last 2 card draws. They will pull the one card that beats you. Tells me that there is an algorithm deciding of I will win or lose as opposed to programming aimed at randomizing the cards. That throws the odds off from a real card game and makes it just a video game. If you want simulation, play the WSOP app against real people.
Good times great games

Awful Game
by Lifjdn on 2021/01/25 13:42
This game is fundamentally broken, the computer generated players raise ridiculous amounts before the river is even dealt out to the point where you have to fold every single round unless you have a pair aces to start with as you end up having to go all in before that cards are even dealt.

by Dwayne524 on 2021/01/18 04:12
I love this poker app. You start from nothing and you build your way up until you get to the 100,000 buy in. Costs you nothing to play and you have lots of fun while you’re at it. The trick to win is you fold 90% of the time until you get to the final table and your goal is to get at least third place so you fold and fold and fold until you have a solid hand and then wait till you get third place and try to get first after that. I have over 8 million chips doing it this way.
Glad it’s back!

I like this game but I have issues
by cjacobs34 on 2021/01/10 16:55
A player goes all in on the third hand, I have pocket aces so I call. The player has 3, 9 off suit. The flop is K 3 9 and then another 9 on the turn giving the CPU player a full house. It’s just not realistic. No one shoves pre flop with 3 9. I get it if they do it after they flop 2 pair, but not pre flop.
Same ol poker
by annoyed fots on 2021/01/10 15:08
Every poker game I download seems like the computer knows the cards before they flip. At first I thought I was being paranoid. But then I paid close attention. The first 3 cards were 2,4,7 and the computer went all in. And I was puzzled because it wasn’t a flush and I had a pair of kings. Then the flop and river flipped and it was a 3 and a 6. The computer had a 5 and a jack. The next time the cards were 3♠️ , k♦️, 9♠️and I had a pair of queens. The computer went all in for a total of $3,000+. The flop and river were a 2♠️ and k♠️ computer ends with a flush having a 5♠️ and a 7❤️. When I first got to the cruise ship the first 5 hands were last card flushes whenever I had the winning pair going into the flop. It’s an entertaining game, but when you start going to different levels your cards are horrible. The skill of the computer doesn’t grow. They just give them high cards constantly. Or will bait you in knowing the other players know what’s coming next. The logic should be to keep the cards random and have the computer learn how to manage their cards better as you go on. It’s not a complete deal breaker as i stated before, all poker games do this. Even some spades games also. Aside from this - the game is solid. you can tell the developers wanted to produce a great game. Once/if this gets fixed I will return and upgrade to 5 stars.

The algorithms don’t reflect real-world odds
by So/So; bugs remain on 2020/12/25 21:58
I’ve played this game for a while now. At first, I assumed a patch would be released to fix the main issue with the game. But it has not been. This is from someone who has played over a year and amassed $82mil in earnings in the game. I’ve also played it on other iOS devices just to be sure if the mechanics there. The algorithms that determine both a) the likelihood of any given hand on each flop/action, and b) the probable response based on said flops/actions is fundamentally wrong. The average winning hand needs to be way, way too strong. Four of a kind, full houses, straights, and flushes are way too common. I am not exaggerating that a three-of-a-kind will rarely be the winning hand. And some of the player actions are just crazy stupid/lucky. When I play other apps or in person, I have to mentally adjust how I play. I will fold nine out of 10 hands in this app that I would play on the real world. This visuals are fine, and while there certainly are glitches, those don’t cause any major issues.

I just learnt how to play poker and I love this app for the graphics and the different rooms you can play in. Of course you get to play in the higher stakes room after you’ve earned the right to. That means earning the right amount of money from placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd in lower rooms. Love that you can also play in portrait or landscape mode. And if you get tired of the character animations you just have to tap the screen to advance pass them. Did I say I love this app?

by rewqfgtt on 2020/12/19 04:40
There is something wrong with your hand rankings versus the game play. There have been instances when two pair beats three of a kind but that doesn’t match your card rankings nor is it generally acceptable. So fix some of the bugs and I’ll continue to play. Also, if you had the ability for friend to join a table with you, this would be hands down the best poker app out there.
Could be so much better
by will i p on 2020/12/18 00:18
The basic premise is good - no limit Hold’em tournaments varying from 1-4 tables. The bigger ones have bigger buy-ins (no money involved). It’s offline so the other players are all run by computer algorithms. However, they don’t give you enough chips considering how aggressive and ridiculous the players are. Not only do they make big bets with 3-4 or 4-7, more often than not these junk hands win against A-A, K-K, or A-K. This is not sour grapes - I’ve played hundreds of 4 table games and I finish in the top 3 in about 33%. It’s just ridiculous when someone goes all-in early with junk and beat your pocket K’s.
What a worthless excuse for a game.
by Bedlam1239 on 2020/12/14 06:16
Good thing that you don’t have to pay for anything in this game. Multiplayer should be relabeled as meditation time and single player as I want to be a biker bitc. I haven’t been able to join a single multiplayer game and single player against the computer so a joke.

by GuyWhoWantsToListenToMusic on 2020/12/06 16:56
The presentation and UI are amazing. The game could be so much fun. But the BOTS! These bots will have the pot at 400 pre flop every single hand. Early levels like the garage this will eat up your entire stack of chips in a few hands. So I'll only play 1/10 hands like A/K or K/K and even then the community cards will be trash. This portion of the game just feels really bad. The players are cool for having their own personalities and actions. Connie really tilts me sometimes.

Most unrealistic poker game
by djjwidxijwjhx on 2020/12/02 08:34
The cpu just raises to raise, there are times pre flop where there are like 10 bets (not an exaggeration), and the cpu seems to always know when you have good cards post flop, because they will almost always check when you check, or fold even if you raise 10 dollars in a 1000 dollar pot. There are rarely pre flops that dont have 5 or more bets, and half the time the cpu has nothing, this doesnt happen in real poker games. Also i have just messed around and would go all in first hand everytime, and the amount of times the cpu hits their cards is ridiculous, you could have a cpu absolutely dominated pre flop but since they are a cpu they hit their cards. Try making an actual shuffle system, and cpus who dont 6-bet with 3-10 off suit, it would actually be an enjoyable game if it was the slightest bit realistic
Needs betting info
by DrDaddio on 2020/11/30 13:09
This app has a major flaw: no explanation of the betting and payout structure. I Googled Texas Hold Em “how to play” and there are several variations. I can’t fingered out why sometimes the pot is split between two or more players. I’ve had instances where both myself and another player had two pair and sometimes the pot splits and other times it doesn’t. I also don’t get all the blinds, checking, etc. The graphics and interface are great though. Very enjoyable to play.

by Scramble golfer on 2020/11/25 03:53
Wow, I’ve been playing this for about 4-5 hours total (not consecutively) and I’m already sick of it. Recently got beat with pocket AA to a guy who called my all in with a Q9. Really? ALSO, the betting is extremely heavy handed. It’s one thing to bluff, but it’s another thing to constantly bet 8-10 times the amount of the big blind before the flop. A glitch I found that should have been spotted and fixed by now is if you switch your screen view by rotating your phone, don’t do it in the middle of a flop or one or two of the flop cards will stay not turned over! Really?? Then it continues to deal the turn and river with that same flop card upside down. That’s messed up. I like to start at the table view before the flop to see how many players are in the hand, then switch to the up close view once I know who’s still in. Have been messed up a few times now because of that glitch. Seems like a few easy things to fix, but others have commented on the constant heavy betting and no fix. No more.
The game is challenging and frustrating
by lvcigarz on 2020/11/22 07:20
I have left reviews in the past that weren’t five stars. I am an above average player and a tournament winner. I had a really hard time keeping any money in my bank so I could play the higher stakes games. I felt that the game had issues.
Lengthy sometimes but great!
by Adept Poker Lover on 2020/04/03 19:32
I was in a game for nearly 3 hours before I kept folding too much and eventually lost and got 2nd place. The very next game all players got eliminated in almost 10 minutes. I had eliminated everyone and gotten there by getting 2 Flushes in a row betting 3000 chips at a time to get everyone to go all in. I was left with one guy who had a measly 225 chips left haha. He got me with a pair of 10’s but then the next hand I got him eliminated with a pair. I got 1st place! That whole game took about a little over 10 minutes. It can be very fun once you start getting good hands. But can be aggravating when you get bad hand after bad hand and the other guy bets 800 chips for no reason even though he has bad cards. Good tactic to boot the other person out. Sparky is a little devil! Good ad free game and I will continue to play.
The draws, though...👎
by JohnnyRoastbeef1967 on 2020/04/03 03:05
It’s a good, fun app when you hold the phone horizontally and play quickly. Having said that, there is usually one bot who gets nothing but good hands, even if they start with garbage, like 7-2 offsuit. Sometimes this is “Connie,” but more often “Chris,” who has drawn a full house on me to beat an ace-high flush and quads to beat a full house. In fact, he has drawn quite a few quads, usually at those moments you really need your straight or flush to hold up. The bots are also obscenely aggressive preflop and often see trash hands to the end and often draw out on them. They go all-in all the time, which is super annoying. They don’t give a fig for pot odds, either. So while I really like the music, speed and atmosphere, the card-dealing RNG is questionable and the bots’ betting behavior is outrageous. I also really dislike the inevitable “really lucky bot” who gets nothing but boats, straights and sets. EDIT: Played again today after a few months. The bots got quads four times in less than 10 minutes of play. What universe does that happen in?!
It’s a bit like a cheesey movie...
by Just-Jennifer on 2020/02/16 23:53
You know, the kind of movie where the gang of crooks have set up a scam game, and know what the mark (that’s you) has, what cards they will be dealt. I have had players go all in right off, have a seemingly unbeatable hand, and get wiped out because one of the bots has a higher hand that they should not have known was coming. They make bets that are a little too perfect. Apple needs to make the deals truly random. You win what seems to be a fixed percentage, and can tell when it is your turn to advance. If you play the Garage, you can accumulate quite a bit of money to pay entry fees, but you risk losing a large amount. And the bots are all rather nasty characters. They are arrogant, smug, even vulgar. If you are playing in portrait, they can be quite annoying. At least in landscape you are spared that. Please Apple, make it a realistic game. It is too predictable.
Glad you’re back

I loaded this on to my iPod Touch years ago and absolutely loved this game. Great graphics, good card action and betting. Then the Touch gave way to other brands of phones until finally I bought the iPhone 7. I hunted through the offline poker section of the App Store. Only found a handful of apps. I didn’t want to sign in to the world poker tour app and have to buy chips. Then one day I found this version. Christmas arrived early this year. Thanks for bringing this back. It’s a straightforward yet engaging way to play.
Good game horrible algorithm
by PoppieALAM on 2019/09/29 23:41
I really enjoy the game but the algorithm is horrible. Very little reality in the game almost to the point you can anticipate what is going to happen. Example: player will move all for 50k only leaving 3k behind...when this happens push all in and the bot will fold. Another example: The bots will also call an all in with no draw and no pairs only to runner runner 2 pair. Once again, it’s a good game but would be better if more realistic algorithm was applied. If you can’t win at this game you have no reason playing poker at all. You can anticipate the moves of the bots. Went from 0 to 110 million +. I’ll keep playing until I get to 1 billion. Maybe another level after Macau would be good!
Fantastic fun
by Dwayne524 on 2021/01/18 04:12
I love this poker app.
Opponents’ betting is super buggy in the re-release.
by Squareman on 2020/04/10 16:40
I have seen both of the following betting bugs several times in this re-release (when I didn’t in the original), the second one rather frequently: 1. Opponents who are still in the hand, even though their chip stack says $0 before the hand starts. They can win the pot if they get the right cards. 2. Opponents who “raise” with a call. This one happens frequently! It’s so frustrating. Player to my left raises for $8,000. Okay. Player to his left calls for $8,000. Okay. Next player “raises” to $8,000 – not another $8k, the same $8k! That’s a bug. If I simply call, the original raiser will often raise again, when that’s not legal and blows my entire strategy of playing within my range.
Betting by Bots unrealistic.
by rnash309 on 2020/07/20 18:47
I’ve been using this App for a while because it’s the one of the few multi player with good graphics. That said the algorithm is not very realistic. Very high bets on small pots with highly improbable starting winning hands. Big and small blinds consistently have foldable hands against, again, improbable betting with small pots. And finally consistent bad beats, again, with improbable starting hands. The game is easily beaten by bypassing 90% of early bets and after half the Bots have been eliminated. A middle or higher pair or an Ace with a face card is a minimum after half of the Bots are eliminated. Risker bets are better played when only 3 players are left to play guaranteeing at least a third place finish. Updated - not even close to probable betting based on hand to pot probability. This app isn’t even worth the one star because of an unrealistic betting algorithm. Very high bets on small pots with highly improbable starting winning hands. Big and small blinds consistently have foldable hands against, again, improbable betting with small pots. And finally consistent bad beats, again, with improbable starting hands.

Gee I mean after my idk how many now products purchased from them, I hope I’ve earned it ;)
The algorithms don’t reflect real-world odds
by So/So; bugs remain on 2020/12/25 21:58
I’ve played this game for a while now.
Just my speed as a single player
by ReadingAndAble on 2020/12/24 04:31
I just learnt how to play poker and I love this app for the graphics and the different rooms you can play in.
Stay Away!
by Doob214 on 2020/07/29 02:52
Love the game play, the graphics, no ads. However the programming is horrendous. I’ve lost on the river card 63 times and won 7 times I’ve gone all in (it’s actually a lot more than that but I started keeping track after I saw how often it happened.) I’ve either got the worst luck in the world or there is some funky programming. To add to that, almost all of those have been losing to a much worse hand. The programming clearly is not random which takes away some of the fun of the game Note: After reading many other reviews I realized it’s not me. The bots are truly programmed against you in an unrealistic fashion. I guess the developers don’t read the reviews because clearly they have not fixed the issue Update: I finally had to delete the game after it became so ridiculous. Losing on the river 75 times and winning 7, consistently losing to much worse hands (last straw was losing three in a row, the last was pair Q to 8-4; two before that was pair K to 3-7 - hit flush on river card), and when suited flopped entirely opposite color 85% of the time.
Overall a great app
by Demonhunter315 on 2020/09/22 22:55
Overall this is a fun poker app, especially since it is free and ad-free. A couple things I'd like to see would be some "quick bet" buttons with various dollar amounts or 1/2 pot bet options so I don't always have to "dial in" my bet. Secondly would be an option to always skip the "acting" in portrait mode. Sometimes it's just easier to hold the phone that way but I dislike the cutaways most of the time. Really enjoy the app!
It’s just ridiculous when someone goes all-in early with junk and beat your pocket K’s.

by llamaramadingdong on 2020/05/10 05:31
Terrible simulation of realistic poker. Will rarely let you win when you play according to what you would in a real live game. For ex: when you draw pocket Aces with a third ace on the flop, invariably the computer players manage to consistently get a flush or full house to win. Another common issue: Over 80% of the time, you’ll draw low cards with higher card flops or if you occasionally get high cards or pocket kings/ aces but the flop is almost always very low cards. Very untypical of real poker. Interface and graphics are nice however. Just an unrealistic gameplay experience. Wish they would fix and update

by TheOneIronHorse on 2019/11/13 07:33
The only problem I have with this game is that I am somewhat clueless as to some of the rules, and what those chips with the letters on them are for, and how to redeem them, and for what purpose do I redeem them? I also don’t understand what “blinds” are. Other than that, I am thoroughly enjoying this game! Since I’m a jazz aficionado, I enjoy the music, too. I still don’t think I’m ready for the big time on TV just yet...
River river river
by MasterLi7501 on 2020/07/07 15:08
Update: Deleting app. Played another game after writing this review and the bad beats just seemed worse. It’s a shame that these developers have no idea how to program this. Has the potential to be great but unfortunately it’s not. I have never seen so many rivers in all my decades of playing poker. This game could be great if the geniuses would fix the river wins. I counted a few times after I’ve been rivered and have rivered multiple times. 75% of the hands in a game were one on the river. That’s just ridiculous. Also, who goes all-in or calls an all-in with 72 off? Or K3 off. I know, the “CPUs” in this game. Fix these issue and you will have a much better game.
No Consistency
by jjsledge on 2019/11/26 19:40
The game has no consistency, which is annoying. I recently played a game where the prior deal split money between 2 players with 1 equal card, despite the fact I had a better 2nd card. However, the literal next deal had the same situation and awarded all the money to the player who had what I had held the prior hand and it knocked me out of the game. I have also played numerous games where the game will split the pot on a hand where one player may have a certain hand (ex. 1 pair), but the next has a better hand (ex. 2 pair, 3 of a kind, full house, etc). The lesser hand gets a couple hundred dollars, and the better hand gets the remainder. The better hand should always win it all. Every poker rule book will tell you that. Game should be a lot better than it is. I will say the “entry fee” part is also a bit ridiculous. Most fees double (50, 100, 200) before going from $500 to $2000.
Positive reviews are fake
by O.ojason on 2020/07/22 10:14
The algorithm makes it nearly impossible to win. As you progress in levels the game bets against you really hard and forces you too blind high against your odds only. Higher level games can’t last more than 2 minutes even if you fold on every single hand. It forces the money out of you. The game is not randomized. Coding is bad for whoever made the game should fix it The game actually knows who has the highest cards all the time and the bets are placed accordingly. YOU CAN NOT BLUFF IN THIS GAME. 000% bluff. The only bluffs the game ever lets you win are always tiny tiny tiny tiny pots and the ai always have the same hand A and J. Game is broken
Pretty Good
by JFH52 on 2019/12/14 11:17
Not bad, fun game. In a real game, unless you are playing against some real morons, some actions of the opponents are mindless. Examples are going all in after all cards are on the table and having low cards and not even a pair; folding on the blind when nobody has raised; betting wars. Also, I know of two hands where my opponent and I have the same hole cards and at the end I was awarded the pot - programming. The multiplayer mode is a great way to learn to coordinate and cheat for real cash online games. Still, it’s a fun game and it’s free.
Such an oldie but a goodie!
by huntsman767 on 2020/04/14 15:36
I learned how to play on this app on my dads first iPhone and I had looked for it multiple times but couldn’t ever find and I’m delighted to see they’ve added it on! Such a fun easy game not too difficult and you can certainly play for a few minutes or suddenly get lost in it for an hour. Would really recommend this classic!
Entertaining, however...
by lenchild on 2020/08/09 10:32
I originally gave this app 5 stars the first time it came out because there wasn’t a lot out there. So Apple brings this back, but they haven’t improved it one bit. So now it’s a 2. The betting patterns are ridiculously high and unrealistic, and I can’t tell you how many times I fall victim to a bad beat. So let’s say I get an AQ, and somebody raises the blind $60. I call, and then someone else raises to $260, then it gets raised to $540. At this point, I’m going all in because I have a great starting hand, but then I get beat by K5. This does happen, don’t get me wrong, but not EVERY single hand.
Poor AI
by Leafs fan '81 on 2021/04/03 03:56
Poor AI that bids too high to often; it’s like those players in real life who go all in without looking at their cards.
Apple Texas hold’em
by miketnt on 2020/04/14 21:16
I did thank you for bringing back Texas hold’em classic. This my first game on the iPhone 4. It’s slowly lose some of it’s feature first the cards sound and then The music as apple upgraded their software. After iPhone 6 I was so sad playing the other poker game. After playing the game it was better when you beat The garage room and move on to aquarium room game if you lost it took you back to garage room Game. Now I play any room. A haven’t play Multiplayer room.
Great interface, but AIs are brutal and annoying
by mikeMcDermott>KGB on 2020/02/21 14:45
Everything about gameplay is amazing, but I just wish the AIs weren’t so brutal. Someone goes all in pre-flop with 5-3 off-suit. You have to fold almost every hand until you finally get good cards. Very easy to win, place, and show since they take themselves out by going all-in all the time, but would like more realistic AIs. But everything else is amazing. Don’t mean to be negative, just not like real poker with AIs
Fun waste of time
by Dr. Nashville on 2019/10/12 17:36
Fun little waste of time but if you have ever played hold’em or plan on actually learning, this game isn’t going to help. Raises are often 10x big blind at least. There will be $120 in the pot and the raise will be to $900. Super unrealistic. And I have played a lot of Hold’em in casinos. Also, it’s ridiculous you can’t see your table position without turning the phone sideways. Hand position means almost as much as what cards you are holding. Like I said, fun waste of time but really bad algorithm.
Impossible to beat
by a1)ed8v2c$-@5 on 2020/02/01 20:44
Would give it a zero if i could. Played it for several days. I’ll admit the game play can be addicting but it ultimately becomes too frustrating when you realize there is no way to win. Early in a game you can gain some momentum. Once it gets late and there are only a few players left, opponents get incredible hands and start betting outrageous totals. You’re always tempted to call their bluff but their never bluffing. Their hands will always beat yours late in the game. I dont care what your cards are, they will always have a better hand. Completely impossible to win this game.
Good poker app
by spot710 on 2020/05/25 10:32
Must say that I don’t agree with everything about it, but the only one I have found that is not a scam. The big problem I have with this app is the actual cheating that goes on. The lengths that I’ve seen the characters go to shut someone completely out has truly amazed me. The things they do really take the enjoyment out of playing the game. It’s gotten to the point where I’m just going to delete the app. I’ve asked for help with this issue and have gotten nowhere

Love how the chip pile gets taller when you win more. Love this app Jackpot with no ads. I will rate this as premium app with no ads best part it’s free.

Texas Hold’em is a great game and this is only my first day playing it I also already have about two hundred dollars. One time I played it and most of the time I got bad but about every time I put most of my money in and usually they folded but sometimes they didn’t and beat me but I still got my money back and also won first place! All I am trying to say is that TEXAS HOLDEM IS A GREAT GAME!!!
Chances Portrayed are Misleading
by A Preacher by Calling on 2020/08/18 00:47
Playing this game as Single Player, I’ve noticed that the bots are dealt hands that simply don’t show up in real life as frequently as they’re portrayed to in the game. I have a great hand, when the bot next to me has a straight flush and the one next to it has a full house. What are the chances? Evidently pretty high, because according to the developers of the game, it should occur three times in less than 10 rounds(exaggeration but not far off from the reality)
Interface is great, AI not realistic.
by glennedy on 2019/08/16 10:19
As others have noted the interface is great, but the AI players actions and reactions to hands and calls is not at all how players react in real life. I get called on Ace/King suited All-in pre-flop with 2/7 unsuited. AI picks up full house on the river. Similar and other unrealistic calls happen way too often. I’ve also gone multiple entire games without a single pre-flop hand I would realistically even play. Best hand across multiple games was Q/6 suited. As SigmaSnake noted, it completely takes the fun out of playing this game.
Nice to have it back, but....
by Lrn2read on 2019/08/01 14:06
Could you PLEASE change of order of the choices to “Abandon Game” and “Resume Game?”... I’ve abandoned way too many excellent games in progress by going on autopilot and selecting abandon by accident. Or maybe just add an, “Are you sure?” to verify your choice. Obviously, this is my own shortcoming, but I can’t imagine I’m the only person that’s done this. Other than that, thx for bringing it back!
Bots know the Whole Hand
by ThatYeloBoi on 2020/08/05 12:31
I’ve been playing this game pretty consistently for the past week, and one thing I have noticed is that the bots instantly know if their hand is going to be the best hand. This is frustrating, because patterns seem to be in place for when they know. While I have had some luck certain times, it’s frustrating when the bots will consistently go All-in before the flop has even happened.

NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS!!!
by €£>,>€€<<€^#~~*^~^<~**#~£ on 2020/09/26 04:41
Great game that has been around since the beginning of the App Store. Fun, easy to use, and can play with fake money. As said above there are absolutely NO MICRO TRANSACTIONS in this game. I got this app back when it first launched and could not be happier to see it back! Definitely worth the money to initially purchase and a must get for anyone who likes poker!
Doesn’t try to get money from me
by Annieheart on 2020/04/16 05:42
Great app! The only Poker app that is Ad-free and doesn’t try to lure you into spending any real money. Love it! My only suggestion is that I would love if users could see more of their own stats and that we could see the stats of the last hand played/won in a game :)

Well made but unrealistic
by SigmaSnake on 2019/07/09 11:35
This is an well made, technologically superior poker game. However, the AI players does leave much to be desired for. For example, an AI player called my all-in bluff with an Ace and King while having a high card on the flop, only to eventually win on the river. In another match, a player with pocket 2’s went head to head with my all-in on the flop, only to obtain a final 2 on the river. This isn’t how normal players would react to hands and bluffs, with AI foul play severely limiting the fun of playing this game.
This game cheats, no Help provided
by Dieting by coloring on 2020/06/28 19:52
I have been playing this game for a few weeks now. It frequently awards a win to one of my opponents even though I know I had the winning hand. Most recently I had two pair: Kings and Tens. One of my opponents had two pairs of lower cards. They got the win, not I. Also, the game frequently awards a smaller amount than the total of the pot. There needs to be some way to contact the Developers from the game itself. As it is now, the “Help” feature isn’t helpful at all.
Not realistic
by Randy2815 on 2020/07/18 04:38
I play poker and downloaded the game to simulate real game play. It’s not realistic at all and doesn’t come remotely close to how real people would play poker. Going all in w/ a 6 and a 10 off suit! Come on. I know it’s a game made to generate money but at least try. The game is laughable. No matter how much the blind is you can count on a re raise. And then the person who re raised ends up folding after the flop. Watch some real poker and make the gameplay somewhat relatable to real poker.
SO ADDICTING
by McKay Cloward on 2020/10/12 02:08
I’ve got tons of my friends and family hooked on this game. I love the offline functionality so whenever I’m on low battery I can turn of Wifi/Cellular and play. The 1.5Gb download is 100% worth it and will definitely keep you occupied when doing online work. 5/5 stars.

Cards not dealt randomly
by itisfreesowhatever on 2021/04/11 16:31
The more aggressively you play the more the cards come in your favor. I have repetitively had hands that should be 80% winners that are consistently 80% losers. You can’t play conservatively or you will lose

Poor AI
by Leafs fan '81 on 2021/04/03 03:56
Poor AI that bids too high to often; it’s like those players in real life who go all in without looking at their cards.

No advertising, fun to play, etc. I will say the player AI could use some work. Impossible calls - on Ice Bar I have a pair on turn, move all in for $2k (no flush, straight possible) - computer calls with J,7 (no flush, straight possible) with no pair and hits 7 on the river.. come on man.

by Jester980 on 2021/03/12 07:24
I loved this game when iPhone apps first came out.

Not pure
by Leecrowell on 2021/02/04 22:28
I could be wrong but after more than 20 hours of playing Apple Hold Em I see patterns in how the cards are dealt. I don’t believe the cards are dealt purely at random. I’ve correctly predicted a number of times how the turn and river cards would come out. Everything else about this game is far superior to all the others. Please Apple don’t try to manipulate the game.

If you want simulation, play the WSOP app against real people.

by Lifjdn on 2021/01/25 13:42
This game is fundamentally broken, the computer generated players raise ridiculous amounts before the river is even dealt out to the point where you have to fold every single round unless you have a pair aces to start with as you end up having to go all in before that cards are even dealt.

by Dwayne524 on 2021/01/18 04:12
I love this poker app.

There is something wrong with your hand rankings versus the game play. There have been instances when two pair beats three of a kind but that doesn’t match your card rankings nor is it generally acceptable. So fix some of the bugs and I’ll continue to play. Also, if you had the ability for friend to join a table with you, this would be hands down the best poker app out there.

by will i p on 2020/12/18 00:18
The basic premise is good - no limit Hold’em tournaments varying from 1-4 tables.

Straights, flushes, full houses, all something you see routinely. 4 of a kind? I got it two hands in a row, the odds of which are one in 50 million. I’m not sure what game this is, but it’s not Texas Hold’em.

The bots.
by GuyWhoWantsToListenToMusic on 2020/12/06 16:56
The presentation and UI are amazing.

Try making an actual shuffle system, and cpus who dont 6-bet with 3-10 off suit, it would actually be an enjoyable game if it was the slightest bit realistic

by DrDaddio on 2020/11/30 13:09
This app has a major flaw: no explanation of the betting and payout structure.

No more.

by Adept Poker Lover on 2020/04/03 19:32
I was in a game for nearly 3 hours before I kept folding too much and eventually lost and got 2nd place.

Maybe another level after Macau would be good!

by Dwayne524 on 2021/01/18 04:12
I love this poker app.

Stay Away!
by Doob214 on 2020/07/29 02:52
Love the game play, the graphics, no ads.

Outstanding Great Job Apple
by wh1146 on 2020/08/13 22:56
Best Ever no ads, especially local multiplayer offline love it. Would be nice if we could upload our face as our own character option as well and have 3d mode in multiplayer like in single player. Love how the chip pile gets taller when you win more. Love this app Jackpot with no ads. I will rate this as premium app with no ads best part it’s free.
TEXAS HOLDEM
by CIAN$ on 2020/02/05 23:02
Texas Hold’em is a great game and this is only my first day playing it I also already have about two hundred dollars.
Tilt!
by UDMF's on 2021/02/14 02:13
I played and greatly enjoyed this game a decade ago and missed its presence from the App Store while it was gone.
Name in avatar
by 1.?z on 2021/04/14 22:42
Can’t figure out how-to put name and use the comment part in the avatars spot I think someone controls this game. I get crappy cards all the time after folding continuous times to get decent cards .when I first started playing it seems like I was winning all the time
Well made but unrealistic
by SigmaSnake on 2019/07/09 11:35
This is an well made, technologically superior poker game.
5/5 stars.
