Oscilloscope feature perfect for setting intonation. Have used app for years, perfect!
Ditto a watch app!!
by SJRIIS on 2016/04/21 01:44
I've been using this app for several years and it works perfectly for me. It would be wonderful to have it on my watch.
My first & still my favorite.
by Myklsan on 2016/01/10 10:08
When the App Store opened I downloaded this app. I like that it shows me a fret board for so many string instruments & shows me with simple lights & string colors that the string is flat or sharp. Other display choices, e.g., analog needle. I always restart it so it calibrates nicely. Started with iPhone Original all the way to iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.2
Please make an Apple Watch app!
by DHbyker12 on 2015/11/05 06:40
I've used this for years and just redownloaded it! Please make it work with my Watch!
Not sure it works all that well.
by Mr_indie_Rocker on 2014/09/27 10:52
I've been using this tuner since it released several years ago and it's by far the best in the App Store.
A fantastic purchase!
by  Caitza  on 2014/05/15 18:55
I adore this app, as it aids me in tuning most of my string instruments in a variety of ways. My only wish for this app is that they made a version for the iPad.
Not working on iOS7
by yasuman2 on 2013/09/20 02:34
No sound input, even if the microphone access is enabled.
Doesn't work at all now
by Allhailrat on 2013/09/19 21:40
I loved this app, and used it every time I needed to tune my guitar. It was accurate, easily accessible, and generally just functioned well. However, it does not work at all with iOS 7.0. I was prompted on opening the app, "this app would like to access the microphone," and of course I said ok. It clearly did not respond to outside sounds though, so the developers have a serious problem to fix now.
Keeps shutting down
by Mungbean4u on 2012/12/18 14:27
Still shuts down at home screen. Works periodically. This is the third iPhone I've had with this app... Last update was in March. Getting another tuner.
Stopped working

For the past mont, App closes immediately every time upon opening. Tried reinstalling and the Its the same. Please update!

Extremely useful, been using this app since it first came out, glad to finally see some type of update by the developer.

by Renelbgdnk on 2010/11/08 03:42
This app is so awesome! I use it for my trumpet, guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin it works great for all of them. I have an iPhone 4 and I'm really disappointed that this app hasn't been updated yet. And I'm annoyed with it. Hopefully it's updated soon.
This is now my only tuner.
by Oejc on 2010/10/11 22:47
I use this for my banjo and it works great. A bargain at $5.99!

Simply incredible...
by briandaldridge on 2010/02/15 02:17

Great app, I think
by Keyjale on 2009/09/30 11:40
The app works great for me, note recognition feature is the most pleasant one.
Amazing!
by castiyeaux on 2009/08/28 20:10
I play Clarinet, and when I tune on my iPhone, it works perfectly! I also play other instruments, so nice to be to tune all of them instead of just a guitar. I really like the UI- it is worth the five bucks.
Missing a Pitch Pipe
by nosscaj on 2009/08/02 08:59
Disappointed to discover there's no pitch pipe along with all the nifty note finding tools in your app. Cleartune has one and it's $2 less =/
Awesome for the banjo!!!
by Bler64 on 2009/07/09 23:44
Never tuned an banjo before and had it sounding great in no time. Beats spending $70 for a tuner!

by Not worththetime on 2009/03/04 01:40
Very fast and easy
Too slow...
by Rufuss S. on 2009/03/02 08:51
The reaction time for this tuner is painfully slow at all settings. Also in the description it says you can change the frequency. But after I bought it I realized it only offered limited adjustment. I prefer the "Mozart" tuning of A-432. This is not one of the options.
Omni Tuner Review
by Reviewer-1 on 2009/03/02 07:17
This one is the real deal. Even if you have a good ear, fret boards being what they are, you almost always just "get close." Omni Tuner gets you right on, and that translates to your instrument just opening right up and coming alive. Love it! Only suggestion: List all of the instruments supported so that you don't feel you're taking a chance . . .
Worth 20x as much
by rooster187 on 2009/02/13 16:54
Very impressed at how much this does and how accurately it does it. Maybe sometime down the road the developers can ad a feature that let's the user press on the frets and notation screen to hear the notes. Include the ability to write, save, and email notation and add a good metronome and you got a one in all application. Amazing still. Best app value a seperate tuner that does all this would cost so much $$$$. I'm selling my old one as I no longer have use for it with this app.
Works perfectly, no regrets
by Air Phloo on 2009/02/07 02:16
I have used this app for a few months. It works with no complaints. It costs a few bucks but still cheaper than most stand-alone tuners. Worth the money. Plus, the updates have been nice improvements for free!
Great Updates, Solid Performance
by OvermanMusic on 2009/02/04 00:55
I've Tested this against my Korg and my Strobe, and it is right on. I have used this both before shows, and before open mics. The Best part of this app though, is that they continually update it with improvements. That to me shows a good company, who will listen to customers. I came back to finally write a review after the last update, we gotta raise the rating on this app. -Overman www.overman.info
Not ideal for bass guitar
by Jon987654321 on 2009/01/17 06:49
The tuner works exceptionally well: not jumpy, good interfaces, clear and precise output. My only complaint is that bass notes are not correctly transposed up an octave on the staff. This makes the staff module useless for bass players. Can you add this as an option or as part of the bass setting?
Decent response time and accuracy
by yunnnn on 2009/01/14 10:38
Works well in a pinch Could very well replace a tuner for novice instrument players
Best tuner
by Guitarwanabe on 2009/01/12 15:18
This thing is my fav app. Well worth the money and if you upgrade to the 3g from the first gen, it comes with you, that was a big worry for me. In the past if you downloaded something for your phone and got a new phone you lost your download. I have tuned using my phone and then checked the tune with my korg tuner it's dead on. Just get it.
i love it
by Brian.K.Teune on 2008/12/29 22:15
i really like this app but i have a 2gen ipod touch and i cant get the app to register my mic? is it my mic or the app??
Excellent sensitivity, wide choice of useful interfaces.
by Mudlumps on 2008/12/28 07:04
This is a great tuner. I tried the other free and inexpensive ones and this is easily the best one. It works as well on my 12-string as on my 6 string. Great array of user interfaces lets you play your mood when tuning. We'll worth the money!
Great App, highly functional, excellent support.
by gwatzn on 2008/12/16 21:10
This app does just what you hope it would do: it uses the microphone of your device to listen to the notes from your instrument and tells you if you're in tune with the appropriate notes. It seems to me to be very precise, and there is also a mode where you can view the actual frequency (Hz) of the notes to 2 decimal places. However, for me, the most useful view is the fretboard view where it automatically highlights the string you're tuning and provides a pitch meter to guide you to the correct note. If you've used a rack mounted or handheld tuner, it works just as well from my experience. Additionally, you can see the actual name of the note you're playing or even see it in musical notation. I was definitely sold on this app and the developer when they created a custom downloadable tuning preset for the fretboard view within minutes of me emailing a support request.
NICE ONE
by El-Marshall on 2008/11/24 23:59
You've exceeded my expectations with this one. Tunes perfectly. My 12 string never sounded better! Thanks peeps!
Very nice - highly recommended
by therossbelmont on 2008/11/22 17:48
Works well and nicely polished. Capable of more precision than you really need.

Still not as good as a clip on but much better engine....than sit.....
Works for my French Horn!
by Matthew Speer on 2008/11/05 00:22
This application is very nice and polished. I set it next to my friend's Korg tuner, and it was extremely accurate! I think it is a very nice application and well worth the price.
Works like a charm
by ciuil on 2008/10/26 17:50
i bought this app yesterday, and so far have tested it with soprano recorder and tympani. Omnituner tuned both of these quickly and accurately. Best $5 i spent on a musical device.
Awesome!
by historyBuff1620 on 2008/10/24 11:52
I hadn't picked up my guitar in years till yesterday just after I got this app. It was way out of tune and this app got it perfectly tuned up in minutes! I wish there were some instructions, but it was so intuitive that I was able to figure it out after just a couple of minutes, and I'm a complete novice! Bottom line, this tuner just works, well worth the price. Get it.
Love it!

Works Nicely.
by ray.haleblian on 2008/10/11 08:10
Well done. As accurate as any other tuner I've had. I like the option for more frequent but less averaged reporting, I imagine I can sometimes see a finer level of flatness or sharpness by averaging myself over time. I also like the frequency view, where I can see my A is indeed 440. With this, one could tune to a recording, then sample their own instrument to see what the detuning was in the performance or recording. I'm using this app with classical guitar.

by Mike909 on 2008/10/06 04:58

Perfection
by Pultritude on 2008/09/21 20:52
The tuner is spot on. It's a full chromatic scale tuner so it helps for all possible tunings. To top it off it even includes options of what tunings you want like drop d, drop c ext. If you want to write your music down, but only read tabs there is even an option that will show you where on the staff it is. I'm just dissapointed that all the people with itouches that wrote bad reviews because they don't have mics. If you play any musical instanent it's worth the five bucks.
Very well-designed App
by Captain Custerdome on 2008/09/20 04:10
This was one of the first Apps I bought, and as a professional musician, I am very impressed with the depth of features - all of the display modes are great as are the customization features, and the developer has offered useful and timely free updates. Great graphics, interface and overall design. Highly recommended!

Easy interface . Cool app.
Pretty Excellent
by Dagses on 2008/09/07 01:28
Very well-made program. There is a perceptible amount of fluctuation, however not too much so as to make the program unworkable. To the contrary, the fluctuations seem to accurately track the fluctuations in the note as played in real time. This is a credit to the accuracy of the program, it doesn't oversimplify its output, yet is still easy to read.
I didn't know how to tune a ukulele and figured it out!
by Marcel Molina on 2008/09/02 00:03
I got a ukulele having never tuned one before. I figured out easily using OmniTuner and now feel totally competent and confident tuning it. This exceeded my expectations. I would have gladly payed $10 bucks for this.
Great for string players!
by Aurolyn Largo on 2008/09/01 19:33
This is a wonderful and accurate tuner. Will save string players a lot of money buying an expensive tuner so that they may tune higher octaves. This application will tune the entire range of the viola. My only wishes are that it had other clefs such as alto (viola) and tenor (cello) clef and more variables for the A such as 444. Perhaps in an update?!
great app for trombone and vocals
by jaktylr on 2008/09/01 05:18
great and very accurate tuner. One small complaint. When viewing notes in the clef view, any notes below e flat 2 (in the bass singer range) aren't rendered properly. No biggie, and I'm sure y'all will fix it soon.
Best Tuner App!
by Xaulted on 2008/08/22 23:39
This App is genius! You can do any Guitar tuning config. And it now even tunes Bass Guitars. It's a great Chromatic Tuner and is very accurate, I find myself using it way more then I thought I would. You never know when you'll need a tuner, and this one is always with me! Can't beat it. Totally worth $5 you cheapos.
Great tuner after update.
by Ejbthree on 2008/08/22 02:50
Omni was marginal at best in the first version. It's really a great tuner now. Highly recommended.
Use it at Guitar Center all the time!

Another update download failure
by BayouBlues on 2008/08/18 01:49
Again, the first version of this excellent program "was " well, excellent. The new update does not download properly and renders this app useless. I give 4 stars because it did work well, once upon a tune. Please fix update. Caveat emperator in the mean time.
Saved the day
by Frackin Good! on 2008/08/17 01:53
I only bought this app because of a funeral. I recently attended a funeral service and my brother was going to play a song on guitar that brought back fond memories of the departed. He forgot his tuner and I thought hey Ive got a phone that I can just get apps for. I did a quick search and read about a few tuner apps. I took a chance on this one...the reviews were all over the board! I'm glad I did. My brother tuned his 12-string and played the song amazingly! The funeral was for our Mom:) cs

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, and I've owned a lot of tuners in my time. This one is hands down the best I've ever used and I love that I have it with me wherever I go. Just buy it!
Very good
by hawaiianchimp on 2008/08/08 21:11
This application works very well. Haven't had a problem yet. Some suggestions though: 1. Add playable tones for the instruments so you can tune by ear and 2. Drop C!
Absolutely Wonderful
by boo27hoo on 2008/08/08 18:31
I teach band and play several instruments for various gigs. This $5 app has already proven to be invaluable to me. I still carry my Korg with me, (maybe not much longer) but I have rarely had to use it since purchasing OmniTuner. Great Work Mauvila!!!!
Not very good at all
by Kova on 2008/08/07 08:02
This App is very cool looking but works poorly. Even with the most recent update it doesn't work very well. The meter wanders all over the place and rarely stays still. I'm a professional musician so I expected it to work perfectly since I had to pay for it. This should have been FREE because it works at a very poor level. You can barely get a decent tuning out of this App and definitely far from professional quality. I bought this to use in my room where it's quiet but it let me down. =((( I'm going to look at other tuner Apps and see if they work better. Hopefully the Programmer will see this post and improve it's abilities. Otherwise, I want my $5 bucks back!
Well built, but not built well
by Captain Wonkybutt on 2008/08/03 04:46
This is a pretty slick app that has some great features. Unfortunately there is too much jitter in the tuner to make it useful. Without sounding a single not the tuner picks up all kinds of input. That causes it to jump all over the place when you are trying to let it listen to a real note.
impossible to tune with
by Moonliner on 2008/08/02 21:59
The lights jump around at an extremely frenetic pace. I played a note I knew to be in tune just to test it, and the lights bounced all over the place, never staying in one spot more than half a second. This does NOT work. That's $5 completely wasted.
Great buy
by Peavey 5150 on 2008/08/02 07:15
Best app for any guitar player out there I tested this app to my $25.00 korg tuner this app match up perfectly. Would like to see bass add to it. The frequncey update was nice to good for make sure my left amp is set at the same vol. As the right amp. Keep da updates comein
Awesome tool at a great price
by foureight84 on 2008/07/24 07:46
I have been a fan of this tool since it was first offered through installer predating the appstore. The app was called funiculus, and omnituner is the name of the next version. I have to say that this version is a lot better than the older free version. $4.99 is not a bad price at all.
Great backup tuner for professional musician
by Vicsong11 on 2008/07/23 22:16
I got this application as a backup for my tuner - as a professional oboist, you always have to have your tuner with you to tune the orchestra at the start of each rehearsal and concert. I'm glad I did since the second day after downloading it my regular tuner batteries died, and I used my phone instead! It worked like a charm and my colleagues were very impressed :)
Works with Bass, Don't be afraid to buy if you're a bassist!!
by JokerB on 2008/07/23 16:16
Although there is no bass setting under the fretboard feature, the standard tuner feature works just fine. And all in all the everything is covered by this tuner app. By far the best tuner app out there. Definitely worth $5, I'd pay more for a tuner with all these capibilities!!
No Bass setting
by buffalo bass on 2008/07/22 14:08
The description says that it is for numerous stringed instruments and you would expect that to include a standard bass guitar, but you'd be wrong.
Great Tuner
by GibsonGuitar1234 on 2008/07/22 04:44
This is a great tuner. Very accurate. Using the built in microphone on the phone works great but it doesn't work with electric instruments. If you buy a video iPod cable and put an RCA to 1/4" adapter on the Red plug you can plug it into an electric guitar and it works! A tuner thats always in my pocket. Worth $10, but its only $4.99 so its a great deal.
Far too sensitive
by cdwilliams1 on 2008/07/17 23:50
Unless the room is completely quiet when tuning my acoustic guitar this thing wanders all over the place. Looks nice and great idea but too hard to use. Even with no sound in the room it's picking up pitches. It never settles or even hovers in a range. As the volume changes (even if the pitch doesn't) it fluctuates.
I was skeptical, but it works
by Swingkid81 on 2008/07/17 20:43
I was skeptical of purchasing a tuner without being able to try it first, but the convenience of having a tuner built into my phone was worth the risk... and it payed off. I've been playing guitar a long time, and bought lots of tuners along the way (and forgot to bring them, thought it was in one case but it was the another, and of course just flat out lost them someplace). I've always got my phone with me though, and now that means I've got a tuner too! Works as well as all the little korg tuners I've bought over the years... but at 5 bucks with the convenience of having a tuner in my phone... awesome... now if they could just get an adapter so you can plug in a 1/4" from an electric... :-)
what a concept!!!!!!
by lemaitrethemonk on 2008/07/16 15:20
This product is amazing...For those of us who do not have the ability to tune by ear, its just another way to keep the music playing. For the guitar this product works great. I also tested my A harp for a second instrument, not a problem. Cant wait to WOW some friends by a campfire...thanks mauvila software keep up the good work
$5 tuner that works well! It's a no-brainer
by tonyludiker on 2008/07/15 16:47
I just downloaded this app and tried it on my fiddle. It worked like a charm. One of the reviews said the display jumped around a lot... not so. In fact, I wish it were just a bit twitchier for fine-tuning like a lot of the other chromatic tuners I've owned (and I mean a LOT). For five bucks this is a great tuner -- you can't go wrong. Beings my phone is always with me (unlike the tuners I leave lying around where I work as a professional musician) I'll alway be able to quickly touch up my tuning. Nice app with a nice readout. I heartily recommend it! (Tony Ludiker - fiddler/vocalist for the Flying W Wranglers)
Not Very Usable at all
by plondinquilopo on 2008/07/14 23:32
Sort of usable. But, there is not much accuracy here. There is no slow or fast setting. The tuner jumps around all over the place. I tried it on an electic piano, and some other instruments. If the instrument is already in tune, you can see that is it tune, as the light will most likley stay in the green, but will jump around a bunch. But if the instrument is out of tune, then good luck trying to get it there with this thing.

As a former musician (but still a music enthusiast!), I have a personal Korg tuner that sometimes people from my church worship team would borrow from me. It will no longer be a hassle having a tuner on my phone! I even ran it side by side with my Korg tuner -- and it's a wonderful substitute for on the go!

I now have a ukulele tuner!
by marusin on 2008/07/11 13:33
I was about to pick up a digital tuner for my guitar / ukulele and thought I'd give this a whirl. Perfect price and always on my iPhone. My only advice is have some more details as to what instruments, etc this software supports. I took a gamble that it had uke settings and luckily it paid off.

Perfection
by Pultritude on 2008/09/21 20:52
The tuner is spot on.
Awesome!
by historyBuff1620 on 2008/10/24 11:52
I hadn't picked up my guitar in years till yesterday just after I got this app. It was way out of tune and this app got it perfectly tuned up in minutes! I wish there were some instructions, but it was so intuitive that I was able to figure it out after just a couple of minutes, and I'm a complete novice! Bottom line, this tuner just works, well worth the price. Get it.
Love it! Only suggestion: List all of the instruments supported so that you don't feel you're taking a chance . . .
Best tuner
by Guitarwanabe on 2009/01/12 15:18
This thing is my fav app. Well worth the money and if you upgrade to the 3g from the first gen, it comes with you, that was a big worry for me. In the past if you downloaded something for your phone and got a new phone you lost your download. I have tuned using my phone and then checked the tune with my korg tuner it's dead on. Just get it.
Definitely worth $5, I'd pay more for a tuner with all these capibilities!!
what a concept!!!!!!
by lemaitrethemonk on 2008/07/16 15:20
This product is amazing...For those of us who do not have the ability to tune by ear, its just another way to keep the music playing. For the guitar this product works great. I also tested my A harp for a second instrument, not a problem. Cant wait to WOW some friends by a campfire...thanks mauvila software keep up the good work
Too slow...
by Rufuss S. on 2009/03/02 08:51
The reaction time for this tuner is painfully slow at all settings. Also in the description it says you can change the frequency. But after I bought it I realized it only offered limited adjustment. I prefer the "Mozart" tuning of A-432. This is not one of the options.
Great Tuner
by GibsonGuitar1234 on 2008/07/22 04:44
This is a great tuner.
Works perfectly, no regrets
by Air Phloo on 2009/02/07 02:16
I have used this app for a few months. It works with no complaints. It costs a few bucks but still cheaper than most stand-alone tuners. Worth the money. Plus, the updates have been nice improvements for free!
Great concept!
by saberprincess on 2008/07/11 20:17
As a former musician (but still a music enthusiast!), I have a personal Korg tuner that sometimes people from my church worship team would borrow from me. It will no longer be a hassle having a tuner on my phone! I even ran it side by side with my Korg tuner -- and it's a wonderful substitute for on the go!
Old
by Renelbgdnk on 2010/11/08 03:42
This app is so awesome! I use it for my trumpet, guitar, banjo, mandolin, violin it works great for all of them. I have an iPhone 4 and I'm really disappointed that this app hasn't been updated yet. And I'm annoyed with it. Hopefully it's updated soon.
Amazing!
by castiyeaux on 2009/08/28 20:10
I play Clarinet, and when I tune on my iPhone, it works perfectly! I also play other instruments, so nice to be to tune all of them instead of just a guitar. I really like the UI- it is worth the five bucks.
Simply incredible...
by briandaldridge on 2010/02/15 02:17
This app is by far the most impressive of any of the apps I've purchased; and dollar for dollar, it is worth every penny! It's a must have for every musician!
Great Tuner!
by 007JBSA on 2008/08/09 03:08
I've been playing guitar for over 40 years, and I've owned a lot of tuners in my time. This one is hands down the best I've ever used and I love that I have it with me wherever I go. Just buy it!
Great Tuner App
by FloridaStateMan on 2012/03/10 05:09
Extremely useful, been using this app since it first came out, glad to finally see some type of update by the developer.
Well built, but not built well
by Captain Wonkybutt on 2008/08/03 04:46
This is a pretty slick app that has some great features. Unfortunately there is too much jitter in the tuner to make it useful. Without sounding a single not the tuner picks up all kinds of input. That causes it to jump all over the place when you are trying to let it listen to a real note.
great app for trombone and vocals
by jaktylr on 2008/09/01 05:18
great and very accurate tuner. One small complaint. When viewing notes in the clef view, any notes below e flat 2 (in the bass singer range) aren't rendered properly. No biggie, and I'm sure y'all will fix it soon.
Works for my French Horn!
by Matthew Speer on 2008/11/05 00:22
This application is very nice and polished. I set it next to my friend's Korg tuner, and it was extremely accurate! I think it is a very nice application and well worth the price.
Works like a charm
by ciuil on 2008/10/26 17:50
i bought this app yesterday, and so far have tested it with soprano recorder and tympani. Omnituner tuned both of these quickly and accurately. Best $5 i spent on a musical device.
Very good
by hawaiianchimp on 2008/08/08 21:11
This application works very well. Haven't had a problem yet. Some suggestions though: 1. Add playable tones for the instruments so you can tune by ear and 2. Drop C!

Great app. Let's u prgram alternate tuning and is very accurate. Even works during band practice as long as I place my phone directly in front of my amp. Well worth it
