I love pandora but lately every time I open the app it takes me to Facebook to link the account. Every single time. No matter how many times I have declined it. Ridiculous push. I don't want to link my accounts and it shouldn't keep popping up every time. I shy away from using it as much now.

I love Pandora and I am a plus user but the app has constant issues. The biggest problem for me is the app unexpectedly turning on at random times all day/night, which is terribly distracting and annoying. I even had it turn on during a conference call, which was very embarrassing. I've tried to force shut it, uninstalling/reinstalling, and restarting my phone. Nothing has worked. I'm considering closing my account if the problem isn't fixed in the next week. I can't continue with this issue.

I listen to a lot of “raw comedy” on the app and therefore get ads for ‘Adam and Eve’ which is fine. My problem is the same Ads pop up when I’m listening to music with my family. It’s not really the ad I want to listen to with with my 9 year old. This is not the only reason I gave two stars. I loved the app when it first started, it helped me explore new music. Now it just plays the same songs over and over again.

It is not at all complicated; you just start a station with the artist or song you want, and it not only gives you the song or songs by the artist you chose. It plays related songs, but if you don't like one of the songs it provides, you just thumbs it down. And, poof! It's gone. Point is, very easy to use, plus, it's free!

I love pandora it my favorite it gives me new music so I don’t have to keep listen to the same song and also if you do like listening to the same song (me sometimes) I think the replay button was genius for those people. I love how it lets you get extra skips because some songs people just don’t like but I would just love to have pandora premium but I can’t any way I love pandora I use it way than Spotify I don’t even use Spotify any more I used it for 2 days and I got tired of it but anyway I love pandora more Love, Jessy

I have grown to hate this app. It locks up and it’s offline option used to be good but it is nearly worthless for me now: it claims to be downloading 3 stations and then it downloads 2. If this is an attempt to push me to premium I’d rather try another service.

I have pandora pro and the fact that i still pay for this crap amazes me. Needless to say im very unimpressed with the pandora i once knew.

Update: problem described below is now fixed. It took just about 3 months though to fix it-I even wrote up a detailed problem description ticket and provided it to Pandora, only to be told they were working on it- so I dealt with 3 months of subpar performance which I paid for. I’m only increasing to 2 stars since I’m sure this will happen again. Sound quality is still pretty inconsistent for paying customers - some songs are 192kps, but clearly not all. I now give them 2.5 stars, up from 1. Original review— Pandora used to work pretty well with my Alpine CDE W265BT head unit, but ever since the update from about 3 weeks ago (November 17), now the app never works on first try. I always plug in the lightning cable instead of Bluetooth for better audio quality - so it’s pretty unacceptable and disappointing that a modern iPhone 8 and head-unit advertised to work with Pandora do not properly work together. I now must enter the Pandora app, then close it out, then plug it into my head unit in order for music to play. It used to be seamless operation, but now it’s just terrible and distracting. Oh...and usually after a Pandora update, which seems to be weekly, it’s your responsibility to go into settings and set the audio quality back to High again since it usually defaults back low quality. The music stations also constantly play the same 20 or so songs— it’s like having that same mix cd playing the same music all the time. Despite the claims of creating a curated playlists for paying customers (like me)..its still the listener’s responsibility to constantly tell the app that a song had been played too much (which is a buried setting/feature). The thumbs up and down is flat out ignored in some cases.

It's the best but when I pay money I want the option to have more than one listener at a time. Plus don't interrupt my listening to try and convince me to buy the premium account. Once or twice sure but once a week no. And now I can’t get the app to work half the time.

Why when listening to English speaking music stations are the advertisements in Spanish? I’m aware that I can pay to get rid of the advertisements all together, but if we don’t have the paid subscription, shouldn’t the advertisements be in the same language as the songs are sung in so we can understand what the advertisers are trying to sell?

This app is basically pointless now. It absolutely does not compare to Apple Music or even YouTube Red... The only way you can pick any song is to pay a subscription, which is normal for Apple Music and Red. Most people would like an app that you can pick any song without ads and just listen to music. Why do you have to pay? It’s to the point where I have to go on YouTube and listen to a video of the song I desire just to enjoy a 3 minute song.. keep in mind the whole time I’m staring at other video thumbnails.. Pandora, this app is trash. I’m just going to spend the money every month on Apple Music and be able to play any song I choose without having to data or use your app Pandora which is slow as hell. I understand I have really no logical argument as most apps rules are the same but come on.. it’s just Music.. if Pandora really wanted to stay up with Apple Music they would just let us choose whatever song we desired. It’s not that big of a deal you money hogs.

We particularly love the “shuffle” Pandora offers! On shuffle Pandora exposes us to new artists, which are included with our favorite stations! I find myself going to my I-pad frequently to look at what artist is playing new and beautiful music!! Thank you Pandora for being such a wonderful constant companion!!

Ive downloaded a lot of music with premium, like over a thousand songs, but pandora has been deleting them automatically, by artist. I’m now down to 700 songs and I can’t keep up with it. Please fix this because I love pandora and I don’t want to delete it. Edit: It’s been a little over two months now, and I’ve gotten zero feedback, and the app is still deleting my music periodically. I just cancelled my subscription today and I’m switching over to Apple Music. I’m gonna keep pandora, but I just can’t pay for something that’s not working, I’m sorry. I’ve been with pandora for the last 7-8 years so this wasn’t a easy decision, as I really do want to continue supporting this app. I’ll gladly drop Apple Music if pandora gets it together again.

For the past couple months this has been freezing and I have to restart it many times before it starts acting right! I’m paying the 4.99 and I only got it for the skip reason. I tried to cancel my membership and I can’t figure out how to! I went to my apple play store, went to iTunes and even went to the website itself and can’t go it! Finally had to email them! I currently have a trial version of Premium that came with the speaker my dad bought me for Christmas. I really enjoy the ability to play specific songs and playlists in addition to the artist-based stations, but I have to give four stars due to connectivity issues. My phone’s WiFi displays full connectivity, but I’ll often open Pandora and be greeted with a “looks like we’re having trouble connecting to the internet.” I then have to spend several minutes convincing the app that I don’t need to use offline mode. I wish it’d connect easier!

I wrote to Pandora support frustrated that I cannot access all subscription options from a mobile device (no matter how much I request desktop site in Safari!), and was met with a 2-month trial offer for Pandora Premium. Premium has far and away reshaped the listening experience. Tons of music can be searched and played immediately, repeat played infinitely, full albums played through and repeated. The songs that are not (yet) licensed for immediate search and play can still be made into stations to match the song's genre categorization. The user interface looks prettier than the plain no-subscription counterpart. It is a very inclusive version of Pandora and best of all, not an ad to be seen or heard no matter how many hours listened or songs skipped. Only drawbacks for me, the price and competing music service prices are all too high. My $20 iTunes gift card couldn't stretch to a second month of Premium. It is missing a repeat option, so a user must manually replay a song or album for each replay. And it would be very useful to have the options flyout menu (top left of the app) always visible no matter to which depth one has navigated in their music discovery. Nevertheless, I am very thankful for the trial subscription. I tried a paid month since then and found Premium still to be just as satisfying apart from the monthly subscription price.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, this amazing app was being taken over by an evil glitch. Now that the glitch is fixed, everything is back to normal, i’m back to enjoying all my favorite songs, and discovering new ones. The app is still just as amazing without premium, which I never bothered to try, the app is amazing as it is. And now all that is back. Although there is one thing that I always forgot to mention in my two previous reviews, advertising. The advertisements are not a severe problem, just merely annoying more than anything, you just finished an amazing tune, and then an ad pops up trying to get you to go to Six Flags. I know you cannot remove these, they are necessary, I’m mostly writing this part as a warning to anybody who had the patience to read up to here 😉. Although in the end, we all hate advertisements. 😁 Although I found a glitch in the new update, I am using Pandora on an iPad mini and when I turn off my device while using Pandora and turn it back on the lock-screen is stuck on “Burn by Ellie Goulding” it happened when I was listening to the song and had to leave my device for a moment, and now every time I use Pandora, this glitch happens. I don’t know if it is my device, or your app, thank you for reading my review.

This is unbelievable! I can’t believe I am actually being charged for a service that is unusable. I pay monthly for an ad-free Pandora experience. Despite the minor hiccups, I’ve been relatively happy with this app for the past few years. However, with the most recent update, it no longer functions correctly. I have even taken a screencast to show that I’m not crazy or making it up. First, I have to open the app, which automatically freezes. So then I have to swipe out and open again. Then, after a song starts playing, it will suddenly stop like 30 seconds in. Don’t even try connecting to Bluetooth in your car or you’ll be one distracted driver trying to get it play just one song. If I also try to simultaneously use another app, as I have been doing for many years prior, it will now automatically stop playing. What is with these developers who don’t test out the updates before releasing them to the public and losing many LOYAL customers in return?? I am very frustrated and need this issue to be addressed immediately (for a road trip I’m taking) or I will find another radio music app worth my time and money! Ps- My phone and app have all the most recent updates and I have had no other issues with any other app. Previous Review: Love it! I use Pandora every single day. My only gripe is that I wish we could like/dislike songs on the lock screen without having to unlock the phone each time. Other than that, it's a wonderful app that I'm glad to have :-)
Crap for free and doesn’t get better with premium

Constantly goes offline when I have plenty of service. Now it won’t play the songs on my playlists. I select a song and it chooses a random song from the same playlist. I have premium yet your licensing restrictions require that a lot of the songs I like require to be listened to on the radio part of the app. What’s the point of paying for premium? I’d rather deal with ads. I listen to this app while I’m driving and now with our distracted driving laws in my state this app makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get it working if it starts wigging out on me. The offline playlists literally play crap music and only play like four songs. When you go back into service it chooses a playlist for you instead of resuming what you had going in the first place. This app is a total waste of money for premium and a total waste of time and effort for commuters without premium. Like if I want to listen to a song over, sure I will listen to an ad but don’t prompt me 7 times about premium before letting me rewind like seriously how am I supposed to listen and drive when the app is asking you 20 freaking questions. Stop making things more of an effort than they need to be. The other day I selected a song and it started randomly playing other songs on that playlist but then immediately choosing another and another and so on. My songs were on a literal shuffle. Get your life together pandora.

I’ve been a fairly long time user of Pandora One. The poor performance of this app is almost making me consider leaving them for online radio. First and foremost, here recently the app has been real garbage. Every time I open it it’s either wanting me to sign into Facebook, or sign up for the higher Pandora service. To me that’s a bit insulting as a person that already pays for Pandora One. There aren’t supposed to be ads, and I certainly don’t want to sign into Facebook on Pandora. Here recently it’s been terrible about audio playback too. For example, the other day if I’d switch to another app or if my phone would go to sleep Pandora would quit playing music. An uninstall and reinstall of the app did fix this. Another issue I’ve been having is sometime I’ll get a notification from another app, the music volume turns down for said notification, but then it doesn’t turn the music back up after, making me close the app and reopen it. One other complaint I have is if I pause the music, the app sometimes just plain seems to forget once I hit play if I spent too long on pause. In order to get music to play again I have to go and reopen the Pandora app. Often times whatever song I was enjoying is no longer there. Really discontent with the quality here recently.

Too many ads of course. I spend 1 minute (two 30 second ads) listening to your ads, ok great. Then a song comes on that I don’t like, press skip, instantly 2 more adds. So now 2 minutes have passed and I’m still stuck with listening to the SAME ads over and over and over again. The ad frequency is way too high compared to any other free radio out there. Plus, the music that does get to play isn’t even what I like to listen to. And a lot of time the music isn’t even tailored to the station. And then there’s the issue where after 8-10 songs, it literally LOOPS!!! It will the start playing the same songs you listened to an hour ago, or where you last listened to Pandora. Pandora is the WORST out there. Compare that to iHeartRadio who has a way better tailored music experience and less ads that are actually relevant to me. On top of that, the only benefits you receive after paying monthly for their premium is just “more skips” and “less ads”. There are definitely way better services out there that when you pay you get “no ads” and “unlimited skips”. Pandora is just a major waste of time, they’re only in it for the money and because of that they’ll eventually die off as someone else overtakes them; unless they radically change their business model and put the user listening experience in the spotlight.
I want an improved music service

This is Pandora’s last week to prove that it’s the music service for me. I drive a lot between major cities and service drops all the time. Even when i have good service the app locks up and makes me reboot. Lastly, it’s not clear what or how im paying for plus. I guit once because of the ridiculous monthly tap when all i wanted to do was pay for a year and forget about the hassle of remembering to deduct monthly payments. Now, i cant see (on the app) how I’m paying, again. Ill logon to the website and find out if I’ll just quit then and there. Apple music had been sending little treats and Pandora hasn’t been concerned enough to make the app work through my iphone ( so far) and without a pretty rapid service improvement ( i just updated the app) and a means to see how I’m paying for plus from my very secure phone, i will quit and move on. I have to add one more, i was engaged many years ago by a stellar customer service representative. She was so helpful that i nearly stayed on, in spite of the required monthly payments option at the time. When Pandora finally adopted the annual payment option again, I don’t return. But now service is suffering. Please make this right. Thank you very much for reading my novella! 😁
"Premium" upgrade removes key feature

For some reason I got some kind of "demo" of Pandora Premium, which is great except for the total loss of the "I'm tired of this track" feature. "But you get unlimited skips! Why would you need that?" Because it's vital to how Pandora actually works: giving a song a thumbs-up defines the kind of music you want to hear on a station, but you might not want to hear that exact song all the time. So the best way to build a Pandora station is to thumb-up all the songs that have the right kind of sound for you, but then put them on the "shelf" if Pandora starts to play them too often. But that feature has apparently been removed from Premium (and Support won't answer me, or tell me how to get out of this demo/trial that I don't want). My only options are to skip the annoying songs every single time they keep coming up... or bookmark them for future reference before giving them a thumbs-down, and mess up the kinds of music that Pandora is going to put into the station until I manually put them back a few weeks later. Their help files don't warn you of this but if you read carefully you'll see that the "Premium" help is in a different category and it doesn't mention the "I'm tired of this track" feature that's described under the regular iOS app help. Beware.

Since discovering Pandora listening I have found great joy in listening. Music is uplifting, I am able to choose genre that matches my feelings and mood at certain times of the day or Simply to get me going, it energized me! I have used Pandora to soothe my grandchildren when rocking them to sleep or entertain them while playing. I have used it while sitting with gravely I’ll family in Hospice, I have used it when visiting elderly friends playing music that was popular during their era. I have used it to comfort me , rather than relying on pills to help me fall asleep I Listen to music... I enjoy listening to music while working in my flower beds or sitting on my patio. When I don’t want complete silence I fill it with music. Music is like a good friend... it’s always there for me anytime, anywhere. I prefer listening to music rather than watching TV where there is so much trash and negativity that is depressing. Music lifts my spirit, it’s like visiting a counselor but without the high cost... it speaks to me through its words and melodies 🎼🎶🎹🎺🎷🎻so Thank you Pandora🎧🎶

Pandora used to be my go-to music app. I was introduced to artists I never knew existed because they were similar to what I already enjoyed. When I got a new car with SYNC3, Pandora was rock solid. I could move from house to car and back without missing a beat. But several months ago, Pandora started having problems. When I get in the car, especially when using CarPlay, there’s no better than a 10% chance that I’ll be able to open Pandora, select a playlist and actually hear music. Most of the time it will give me a list of my playlists, but selecting a playlist just snaps back and does nothing no matter how many times I select it. Sometimes the app on the phone tells me “Poor network connection”, or its stuck asking me to start a free trial, or there’s a “Skip to Pandora” button. But you know what’s not there? Music! My home wi-fi is unchanged. There are no new cell towers. I have at least three bars. There is no reason why I can’t do today what I did for months without any problems, and that’s listen to music. So I have deleted the app and reinstalled twice. If I have to delete again, there won’t be another installation. And that’s sad because an app that once brought me so much good music and introduced me to so many artists, now brings only daily frustration.
Can’t get it right AGAIN!!!

Once’s again you mess up the app. Now I can’t get it to work. When I turn it on the app then when I closed the screen to let it play in back ground. It turns off the music. Then when I try to put it back on it freezes. I have to turn off the app then turn it back on. This happens every time. Now that I paid for this service it not working. This happen 1 day after the last fix. Plus you can’t see whats playing in the lock screen. Just shows the pandora app is on. GREAT JOBS!!! (Not) (Next day) After I putting a bad review. The sent me a way to fix the problem the very next day. All I can say it now work and I’m happy again with pandora. This time it was a great job!! Just give them a problem and they will fix it. I might have been a little mad about the review. But at the time it was bad day and I wanted was to listen to music it chill with, and it didn’t want to work. I glad that the people at pandora really care about the people who uses their app. Just give a change and see what they can do for you. *****. 5 five rating.
Really like Pandora despite its issues

I really like Pandora. They fixed the latest crashing issue. I occasionally use and try other apps. Some are good for specific uses, like just finding a specific song or hearing what friends like. But Pandora consistently curated music very very well and I keep coming back, now defaulting to it for general listening in the car and at home. Jazz, electronica, fusion, trance, house, and artist or even song-based stations - you name it: I get an excellent mix suited to my tastes, with new tunes and artists I hadn’t yet heard. Yes, their ad behavior is irritating in the free version. But if you grew up listening to AM radio as I did, this is not really a problem. And if you can’t stand it, ante-up for the premium version. It is totally worth it if you hate the ads that much what with all the extra features you get. Keep it up Pandora. Just don’t make your ad function any more annoying than it already is (like popping up more ads when I just want to see the album cover, making me click two or three times to see it!). If you make it less annoying I’ll give you a full five stars!
Pandora Premium may not be so great after all

My headphone controls are not working with Pandora anymore over the last few days and Pandora no longer comes up on my lock screen. This is absolutely irritating. Who do I need to complain to in order to get this fixed?! Pandora is great. I always thought so. And I figured, it would be fantastic to upgrade to Pandora Premium (PP). I don't regret my decision, but it (PP) concentrates on playing thumbs up songs. Now that might sound great, but it 1) disallows the listener from gaining new music experiences from different artists, genres, and albums. 2) soon enough, I will grow tired of these favorite tracks. 3) you cannot undo a thumbs up after it is done. So if you thumbs up a song, you can neither unhighlight thumbs up nor hit "thumbs down" (although that may be extreme). What I want from Pandora Premium- and was available in the free version - is the flexibility of liking, unliking, disliking song tracks, and exploring new artists, genres, albums, and tracks. Still Pandora is great and receives 4 stars, but Pandora Premium, itself, is probably worth 2. It's not bad... just disappointing.

I always loved this service and before I was a paying customer, I was a regular subscriber since 2007 and I did love it but there are too many problems with it now! It is constantly buffering, it says it’s playing, the meter shows the music is on and it’s in play status but the problem is there’s nothing coming out! There is no communication between what we hear and what the machine says that we’re supposed to hear and I’m saying everything that the previous person reviewed is exactly how I feel and if this does not fix itself soon, I’m Leaving! I had to now delete the app as per Pandora’s help instructions and my stations and everything else has to be redone! Sometimes I put on gospel music from my coworker that I play with her once a week and once it comes on for some unknown reason I cannot get gospel off and it keeps going into my playlist although the station is the selected and I have close the app hit save and hit shuffle and I cannot get rid of it. Maybe that’s Interventional. Previous Review: I'm surprised to see how the music is chosen for variety. I pay for it, but the optional features are very good.i love Todays Comedy Radio station however, I seem to hear the same bits. So I hit skip a lot. Maybe you can add some variety.

Barely able to navigate app due to the overwhelming number of adds that they jam down your throat. Back to back Pop ups that require you to close, lazily slopped together commercials, and if that wasn't enough the variety of songs is pitiful. After the first 7 songs it just goes to a loop where I hear the same familiar songs day in and out. For how little this app provides it's not worth sitting through horrible repetitive commercials and closing swarms of pop up ads. Goodbye pandora. (3 month later-update) If I had the money to buy out pandora I would. Upon owning the company I would then run it straight into the ground and erase its existence from the planet. How you have managed to create a music listening experience that is so horrible is beyond me. Your listeners should love you not hate you. Annoying users with ads until they cave and purchase premium is a slimy business tactic. I have more respect for telemarketers. I came back to use the app to see if anything changed and I can't even open the app. I have a top of the line phone that can run everything but your app. It's almost 2018 and you can't get your app to function on a modern phone. There has been 3 updates and nothing has been resolved. DISGUSTED!

For people who truly love music Pandora is a godsend. There is a joy that That comes from a good surprise. With Pandora you don’t have to set up a playlist, so you’re never sure what song my play next. Pandora uses a song or band that you chose to start your station. They play music that is similar to your original chose. Pandora then uses algorithms that track your likes and dislikes of the songs that you have listened to in order to create a custom playlist for every user. I pay for the service that removes the ads and allows me to skip any songs or repeat any songs that I want.I have had Pandora for years and enjoy it so much that I stopped to write this small review. If you love music I think that you will also love Pandora. I hope that you give it a try. Music brings so much happiness to life, and with Pandora your music can always be with you. I don’t have to download hundreds of songs I can just listen to my music every were I go. I love music. I love Pandora.

Okay, so this app is amazing. Just because you have to pay for no adds and offline use and all of that junk it's a great app. I've been using it for I think a year, maybe more, maybe less. I don't know. After the resent update, Pandora forces me to use my free trial for Pandora Premium. I was saving it for my next summer vacation so I could really enjoy it instead of just knowing I'm wasting my week of an amazing Pandora experience. At first, I had absolutely no idea what was going on and for a minute I thought I had bought the subscription and being a fourteen year old, I was super scared that I was charging my mother's bank account. So, Pandora, if you read this, your app is amazing, but please take away my free trial and let me save it!! Thank you! I haven't had any crashes, like ever. (The teenager came out sorry) so I'm not afraid of that. This app really deserves 5 stars except the free trial thing. Okay, so, all in all, this is a great app and you should really get it. It's the best one like it.

Pandora filled my summer with exquisite songs and I found a lot of new music to listen to. I enjoyed the pleasant slow walks with quick steps in between running to soft calming tunes. I enjoyed the late night parties to Spanish music. I enjoyed the summer mornings spent playing basketball with my ball dribbling to the beat of drums. I could not put it into better words, but I felt like I was in love every single day in July and August. I cannot believe music has come this far. I cannot even trace where I found all such great music. The world definitely does not deserve Pandora because it gives more than we give back. I don't even have a favorite song. Because of all the great music Pandora has to offer. Rather I have a myriad of favorite songs ranging from R&B, pop, classic rock and romantic music. With artists like American Authors, OneRepublic, Pink, Daft Punk, and Taylor Swift. And favorite movie soundtracks like Paper Towns, Love Story, and Valerian. I've been using Pandora for a couple years now I think. But after an update probably 6-8 months ago, Pandora no longer works with a USB cord - on players, in my car, nothing. This is really annoying because the USB allowed me to control Pandora through the radio/remote/device it was connected to and now I have to use an AUX cord. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and done everything I can think of to no avail. The Pandora Premium pop up is really annoying - shoving it in my face isn't going to make me buy it. Also, why, if I pause Pandora for more than ~15 minutes, does it "refresh" and start playing a new song?! On the app and site it does this. I don't want to pause it for long periods during songs I like because I'm afraid I won't be able to listen to the rest of it! And your ads are WAY louder than the music, which is REALLY OBNOXIOUS because I'll be jamming out and suddenly I'm blasted with a commercial (I'm already hard of hearing, you don't need to make it worse, kay thanks) Fix these issues and you'll be golden 👌🏼

I’ve used it for 3 years and it keeps getting better. Minus the commercials between songs that kills my vibe it’s great. I also get annoyed by only have a few song skips. I mean there’s a lot of songs I like and a lot I don’t like, so I like to thumbs them down and skip. But when I run out of song skips then I’m forced to listen to music I hate... so I usually get off the app then. It would be nice if when you both thumbed it down and skipped the song then the skip wouldn’t count. To me it’s different to hate a song and skip it then to just casually not be in the mood for a song that you like but just don’t want to listen to, so you skip it. But anyways, other than those two things it’s overall a great app! It has some great songs that I just have to download to my phone after finding out about them. It always has the newest and oldest of songs of every genre.👍🏼 I can say if you download it you won’t regret it.

My Pandora experience has been getting worse and worse - I’ve been struggling to play songs bc it often freezes on any given song and I can’t play or pause or forward to the next song. (Its frozen right now I’m fact) I have the kill the app and try again. The app also frequently takes me offline when I have good connectivity. I’ve also had a problem where my Pandora will start to randomly play in my pocket. When I go to shut it off I try to pause it from the lock screen of my iPhone, which doesn’t work. I then have to authenticate to get into my phone and navigate to the Pandora app to stop the music. Only the pause button in the Pandora app doesn’t work either (meanwhile the music is still playing loudly). Now I need to kill the app which takes several seconds on the iPhone X. Very poor experience overall. The app doesn’t function properly for what it’s designed for and the random playing in my pocket (when my screen is locked btw with a password) is even more horrible, especially when I’m at work and I can’t turn it off!!! Fix these issues please.

Pandora was introduced to me as I was in one of the worst turmoils of my life. God will never give you more than you can handle they say..... But it was only because of Pandora that I survived!! Simply having the ability to allow the perfect song at the perfect time come through the tiny iPhone speaker was priceless. Forced to quit my successful job of 13 years to stay at home to take care of our 3 daughters..... After years of mental, emotional, financial and then physical abuse I was relieved when I came home and all my husbands clothes and belongings were gone...... it was a difficult divorce but Because of Pandora I was able to overcome the Obstacles, the Crushing barriers that would otherwise make someone give up or loose hope and become cold towards life and existence..... Needs an update for modern devices

Pandora needs an update for a stand alone app compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular. If I lose Bluetooth connection with my actual phone pandora will not work because it uses the app on my phone although I have the add on installed my watch. The point of having cellular on the Apple Watch is if you are out of range on Bluetooth with your phone you can still text, call, email etc from the watch. Would be nice to enjoy my pandora premium out on a walk with the dog without my phone and using my AirPods or out for a jog. iTunes does support a stand alone app for the watch so you can listen to music through AirPods without connection to your phone. Another benefit I would get here would be the usage of battery using pandora on my watch vs phone. I get home from a long day of work and my watch is at 80% and my phone is at 20% and that is off and on wireless charging all day. One of my coworkers opted for the iTunes unlimited subscription and I’m getting jealous for sure...

Pandora is one of my favorite apps. I listen to it almost daily. Nearly daily, however, it suffers little issues that frustrate me. Examples: The thumbs up/down feature is cool, but crude and its true functionality is in clear. Consider: A song comes on that I like, but it’s a live version. I hate listening to live versions of songs. So is that a thumbs up or down? Lately, if I have been listening for a while and my phone has gone into sleep mode (not sure that is the proper term), I’ll open the phone again and the pause/play button will be locked. The phone isn’t locked. Other controls work, but I can’t stop/start the music without starting a different station. Very frustrating. One more: I started a new station by picking a band (Alabama). Sure enough, first song was a live version of a mediocre song. I skipped the song. The next few songs that came up were non-Alabama songs I liked - songs I would like on an Alabama station. Thumbs up. No more Alabama songs. I quickly stopped thumbing up, then started skipping. Finally, I thumbed down some songs I actually liked. After an hour of music, Pandora had only played three crappy Alabama songs or crappy versions of good Alabama songs. I quit the station and deleted it. Next day I tried again and had a much better, but not great experience with a new Alabama station. Wonderful, magical, but sometimes very confusing.

I’ve been using Pandora and it’s app for a very long time. Like back when Motorola had phones out... In the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed several persistent errors. Each time that my iphone tries to bluetooth link up to a a vehicle... doesn’t matter if is my Mercedes C class or Ford Explorer...not even a random rental car. Each time the app locks up to the point of needing to shut it down manually and restart. Also, even after a restart I have to shut the radio down and turn it back in to get volume. All is good until I leave the vehicle and return. It’s live die repeat... This error was with my iphone 6 last month. It’s with my iphone 8 this month that I just got. I even had one of my employee’s with a iphone 7 that I found to have the same error. I’ve been waiting for this error to be fixed with a recent update but nothing. Is this an Apple problem? Is it a Pandora problem? I’m getting close to cancelling my Pandora account over it. I just need to make sure that it’s not an Apple driven “error” to drive people to iTune’s....

Pandora works great for me at the moment. I’ve yet to upgrade to premium but so far I can tolerate the ads (its not that much). I can easily find the songs I like so overall it’s a great app. The suggestion I have though isn’t really required such as recommended. I’d like for the rating of songs to be less broad than “like,” “dislike,” or just no rating at all. I know that I for one have songs that I like and songs that I love as well as songs that I dislike and songs I hate. The suggestion is that instead of just thumbs up or thumbs down there would be an advanced option. This would optimize my listening experience because being able to choose how much “thumbs-uping” or “thumbs-downing” a song will effect the rest of the music on my radio. This would, in turn, allow me to have more control over my music. Thank you for hearing me out!
Used to be the best

I have used pandora for many years in addition to paying for pandora one. I love the simplicity and overall use of pandora, but I have never managed to have pandora on any phone without it having issues. The previous update caused music to stop playing after about 30 seconds keeping you from being able to use the app at all, very frustrating when I use it on a daily basis for hours at work. Now this new update has fixed the previous issue, but won’t even allow me to pause the music (even after reinstalling the app). This is on top of minor issues the app has had for a long time like crashes and sound issues that I’ve been willing to ignore. Constant issues have left me with nothing but disappointment in pandora which is unfortunate because I’ve loved the app for so many years. I love the idea of the app, but the experience over the past year has been terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it at this point in time.

I have been a pandora user for about 6 years and I have seared the next button on the bottom right corner. So when I'm driving and I wanted to skip to the next song I don't have to look down to tap the next button, I just Do it! Now as a pandora Premium user, the thumbs up button is on the bottom right corner with the skip button to its left. So now when I'm driving I HAVE to look down to skip a song because sometimes I push the thumbs up button and it kinda wants me to not pay for premium just to have the skip button on the bottom right corner. I am really REALLY hoping you take my consideration on at least just switching the thumbs up and skip button so that the skip button is all the way on the bottom right corner so I can keep listening to my AWESOME pandora without the worry of taking my eyes off the road. Other than that PANDORA IS THE GREATEST!!! God bless! #driveresposibly

I’ve been with pandora for years and have had no complaints until recently. It seems that for every three songs you listen to they will then have you listen to two commercials. That was annoying but I had invested my thumbs up on enough songs that I had a great mix of music to listen to throughout the day with not many repeats so it seemed like starting over would be a pain. This week I’m considering deleting it and finding an alternative. I don’t want to start over but they’ve started playing a commercial that is entirely in Spanish and I hear it like every thirty minutes. I can’t understand a word of it other than the company whose ad it is. In these times of political correctness I’m sure there are plenty of people who will be a negative Nancy over this review. I’m sorry. I’m not trying to offend anyone. If pandora wants to play ads that are in another language other than English, they should find out which of their customers can understand that language and play those ads for them.

I tend to use whether I’m at home or out and about. The most annoying thing is the pop up ad to upgrade the membership, I get it, money needs to be made. I totally want to upgrade to be able to skip more but its not in the funds right now. The pop up happens so much and gets in the way of trying to change the station, or thumb up/down the songs..super annoying! It does an ok job of finding music thats similar, but a lot of the time its too repetitive. And I wish there was a way to fix a wrong thumb down without deleting the station and starting over again 😫 I’ve done this a few times and get so mad at myself, it happens to songs I was waiting for to come up and...oops I hit the wrong button and can’t fix it. I’d say now its average...they need new music in the artist’s categories, some of the stations get real short after taking out so many. I’ll keep using but it gets boring and annoying with the free version.

Pandora is either really good or really bad. I’ll open it and the songs are fire one after the next and the next they all are random songs that don’t even correlate to their station. For example I downloaded Pink radio because ya know, wanted to listen to Pink. 2 of her songs came on in between two other random songs played that were not Pink. After the second song of hers finished, it was a complete shuffle of the most random and unrelated songs to Pink Radio. Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner, Carrie Underwood... Carrie Underwood? They’re completely different genres of music, how are they on the same station. So I obviously skipped. I skipped 25 songs before I was out of skips, not even until I got to the next Pink song.. with my unlimited listening hour. Long story short, Pandora’s efforts to match songs to the specified station or genre or artist is absolute trash. Why is it so hard to play Pink songs on Pink radio? I will never understand the inability..

Pandora has a good selection of music and is a good when you first open the app. Only problem is after you’ve been on one station for awhile it will start mixing crap into your favorite stations. My Queens of the Stone Age Station plays more Deftones Station than my Deftones Station and vice versa. And it’s not unlimited skips for 5 dollars a month. It’ll play songs that fall into the genre when you first open the Station and after about 5 songs it’ll just mix crap into it. After about 20 skips it won’t let you and say “cannot skip this track due to licensing agreement”. It’ll also announce that a station isn’t available sometimes after only one or two skips. It has a lot of potential but it seems like they just advertise as unlimited by mixing in corny independent bands that are distantly related to your station’s genre. I have a “Seasons in the abyss” that is supposed to play slayer and related bands and it hasn’t played a slayer song the last couple times that I selected it.

I have the Pandora Plus and its so great where you can skip your least liked songs but replay your favorites! Everyone I talk to about this app says "you don't have any control!" but you do. Why I say this is because it is just like a radio station. You have no idea what song is coming up next! But Pandora does pay attention to your thumbs ups and downs so if you do those then you can narrow down to your favorite songs while hearing some new ones. I also love the bedtime timer and alarm. Just lay back and relax while listen to your music while it automatically turns off depending on when you want it to. And then you wake up to the music you love when you want to. Also Pandora gives you notifications when an artist you like goes on tour or releases a new album.

Pandora would always crash and go offline quite often for reasons I don’t understand. When it crashes, it makes my phone turn off and it resets itself, then it comes back on and all is well again. This is the only app that does this to my phone, it’s kind of weird. Music is great, however, for a free app. I always recommend Pandora over other music apps. Commercials is a minimum of 2-3 quick clips, then back to music before you know it, not invasive and tolerable. You don’t need to buy the packages for Pandora to be commercial free, if commercials were to be your reason to spend real money on the Pandora app. I don’t recommend it, it’d be a waste. I love love love all of the genre options! There’s everything you can think of and more. Very much enjoyable. Personal favorites are all oldies music, southern rock, classics, and so on. Enjoy!

November- for a month or so now it’s been randomly crashing. Didn’t know what was going on but a few weeks ago I finally saw it happen while I was looking at my phone. Program shuts down and you see a star?symbol and then you have to re-unlock phone. Only app that does this The June bug sucked, stuck with it not launching for almost a week. Finally deleted it and redownloaded. Now I can listen to music on my way to work and home. Been listening for years. Love how you can read the bio on an artist. I have noticed lately that within a 30minute window that it plays the same song. Repeat much? I wish when listening to a station that it didn't just play my thumbs up songs. I like hearing new things and having to create a new station so I'm not listening to the same old same old yet again gets annoying.
Using with Bluetooth is a hassle

Complete garbage since the the latest IOS update. Every time I connect to a Bluetooth such as my Kenwood in my truck, my older speaker and my brand new one, and my skull candy’s over the ear headset I have to restart the app up to 5 times. On top of that just about every time I’m on a Bluetooth device my phone will randomly reboot (sort of) and then I have to reboot the app afterwards and then starts right back at the beginning of the track that had just ended or right at the end. I thought I had found a way around restarting the app by just switching stations but then found that I no longer had control of the app ( such as >\=, skip or even volume) from the Bluetooth device or even the phone itself. I’ve used pandora for many years and right now I’m about ready to look for another music listening provider. Update: they have done 3 updates sense I posted this that all say “bug fixes” and “improved listing experience” it it’s still doing the same thing

Advertisements are too frequent. I should NOT have to pay to not have commercials. I can use other competing music apps that don’t have commercials like Pandora does. Also, just because I “like” a song when I’m listening to one genre of radio station, doesn’t mean I want to hear that song when I’m listening to a different genre of radio station. As humans, we are all in different moods at different times, and enjoy listening to different genres of music, depending on our mood. So if I am in the mood to be listening to a more upbeat and dance type genre, that doesn’t mean I want to hear my favorite slow love song from Secondhand Serenade. Please keep the same theme of music within the genre of radio station selected by the customer. If I want to listen to a random mix of songs I have periodically “liked” on Pandora, then I can listen to my thumbprint station. Otherwise, if I pick “Dance Party”, I want Dancing themed music, likewise, if I pick “Love Songs”, I want to hear slow romantic deep lyrical music.

I love listening to pandora but it could be better. I've been using it for a long time now. At times it seemed easy to use other times it did not. It would be nice to put a particular song on. Also I have different stations because i feel like listening to certain songs at certain times but you seem to merge my stations. I will be listening to a station and a song that I put on one station will show up on another with a thumbs up and I know I didn't do that for that station. Also I have been noticing that a song that I gave a thumbs up to is playing as a different version but with the same name and a thumbs up and I never even heard that version before and I never hear the original version that I gave the thumbs up to again.

Always using Pandora; if I’m working I usually have it going, at the gym I’ll have it going, and my wife and I have relaxing spa music playing to get to sleep at night. I really enjoy having this mix of music available for any occasion. HOWEVER, there has been this issue with the app randomly crashing. Does this happen with anyone else? I’ll be listening to music, particularly when the phone is plugged in, the music will stop and my phone will make the sound of the charger being plugged in. And that’s it. I can open Pandora again, and sometimes it will happen again. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, my wife has an iPhone 6s, it happens on both our phones. We’ve both uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Fix the crashing issue and I change to 5 stars!!! Otherwise, great app!

I’ve used pandora for years and have enjoyed it for years but as of late I’ve been having a problem where my phone will slightly crash out and close the phone and pandora making me go back and open the app back up. The song that I was on no matter how far in I was resets and I have to listen to it again or skip. That’s the main issue I’m seeing but there is one more. Every once in a while the app will tell me a station isn’t available but it will let me open the station for two songs or so then kick me out again. Both of these problems together make the app almost unusable for me. But I will say these issues aren’t for everyone so I’m mainly doing this to try and get it fixed so take all I say with a hope that it doesn’t happen to you too. Thanks pandora I’ve enjoyed every year and every new favorite song!
Great but not very compatible with Apple CarPlay

I use pandora just about every day in my car through Apple CarPlay. It seems anytime my phone goes from WiFi to LTE I have to close and reopen the app to get it to work. If my phone is locked the app won’t respond to apple CarPlay commands. This is because I can’t close the millions of popups through Apple CarPlay, they’re blocking me from using the buttons on my cars display. I’ll have to unlock the phone itself open the app close the popups then click play. If i pause a song while in the car before I get out and say go shopping for 30 mins and come back it won’t remember the fact I paused a song and it’ll just skip to the next. Basically it seems anytime I hook it up to Apple CarPlay it forgets what the heck it was doing and needs reset on everything. What’s the point of Apple CarPlay if I have to use the phone 75% of the time?

I’m a yearly paying customer. Never needed any assistance until the latest update jacked up the app when connected to either of two different cars. Bluetooth connection is messed up bad. Will not play any station unless I skip the first song. Skipping any track requires directly skipping on the phone where steering wheel controls used to work perfectly in both vehicles. When shutting either vehicle off the Pandora app on the phone continues to play and closing the app or rebooting the phone is the only way to get it to stop playing. None of the controls on the app work at all. Went to the same link the developer posted for everyone having trouble and it is some BS link to a Pandora knowledge base. How about some real support rather than just telling your customer try this and email us back if it doesn’t work. That is very insulting to a paying customer. If I do not get some real support, I’m done with you Pandora.

I LOVE Pandora, but something’s wrong with the latest update. I can’t open any other app or the music stops. If I pull Pandora back up, it’s frozen, so I have to close it and wait a few seconds then open it again. First world problems, I know, but I’ve been paying for Pandora for years and this has never been a problem. Just thought they’d fix it within a few days—I’ve been checking daily for an update. I also saw an article on Wall Street Journal that we can now use the Pandora app to control our Sonos speakers—and I read all the news releases I could find to learn how, but there was no how-to anywhere. I still see nothing in Pandora’s iPhone app that associates with other apps. Still love the service—just hoping they get it right with the next release.

The latest updates have been a disaster. Two main issues I’m having: 1) I use Apple AirPods at work. Since the last Pandora update when I take one earphone out to answer my work phone or speak to a coworker, rather than automatically pausing the music (which is what is supposed to happen) it transfers the music to my iPhone. I have to remember to turn my phone sound all the way down before opening Pandora so I don’t blast away my coworkers with my music when I take an earphone out. 2) I never know when the music is going to stop. Opening another app, locking my phone or minimizing Pandora now randomly turns off the music. Not every time, but often enough to be irritating. Sometimes just pressing play and waiting 30 seconds is enough to pause the music. I’m close to giving up on this app. I can’t stand the commercials so I pay a monthly fee to have ad free music but lately it feels like a waste of music.

Raised the rating Pandora is working on DirecTV again as long as it’s a genie or higher. Shame I don’t think it’s ever going to come back to the legacy DVR‘s🙏🏽 I hope it does. Just seems like since August and iOS 11 update a lot of apps have a lot more ads than they ever used to. It’s really disturbing trend and it’s not just Pandora. For some reason if you have it i7 or lower do A sync back up with your laptop and quality lightning jack cable, seems like the phones will act less glitchy after I did that. But I really have to say iOS 11 and Apple want you to get the newer phones I8/i10 And it’s been having a devastating effect on DirecTV Pandora first 5 or 6 months ago. Now it’s even affecting the genies DirecTV says there’s some sort of corporate battle going on I can’t believe it Direct Tv AT&T just buy these idiots and make it better

PAID SUBSCRIBER HERE. Regarding the new update: I don't like it! I'm not able to add multiple songs from one artist. I've spent almost an hour entering songs to a playlist, song by song. I hit done, and for the second time, it says I have zero songs in the playlist! Really frustrating! An option to enter a particular band and select multiple songs for a playlist would be nice, instead of song by song. What happened to the thumbs up / down option? If that’s not available, how does Pandora learn what I like?? Horrible update. An option to add which years you’d like to be included in a playlist would help those of us trying to plan high school reunions or time themed parties. We are a dual genre household, so we created a station with a mix of rock and country. We added over 15 bands. The station plays nothing but country for about 45 minutes, then nothing but rock for 45 minutes. Is there any way to get this a bit more mixed??

I am a paid subscriber and have use Pandora for at least the last six years to seven years maybe more. Whatever happened as of late with the iPhone updates in Pandora update I can no longer listen to Pandora when I switch between apps. It was nice that Pandora would override and work in cooperation with other apps so that I could get directions and still listen to music or be able to switch between and do a voice text and then come back and use the app again. Now when I ask Siri to open the app it freezes. Whenever I unplug my headset from the phone it freezes I have to repeatedly swipe it closed and open it again to make it work. I am up-to-date on all updates and this is extremely annoying since I use Pandora every day of my life. Also, Canada. Why doesn’t Pandora work in Canada? That is extremely annoying. Also my alarm goes off and Pandora freezes and I have to swipe the app closed.

Because of this, I need a reliable music app to really help keep my energy high for those late night workouts. Recently, I sought the advice of other people at my gym about which app they’d recommend. I got opinions from other late night regulars and even the staff. I got a wide variety of recommendations. The last guy I asked for advice was the overnight janitor who always seems to be working very hard, with headphones on. I love Pandora and I am a plus user but the app has constant issues. The biggest problem for me is the app unexpectedly turning on at random times all day/night, which is terribly distracting and annoying. I even had it turn on during a conference call, which was very embarrassing. I've tried to force shut it, uninstalling/reinstalling, and restarting my phone. Nothing has worked. I'm considering closing my account if the problem isn't fixed in the next week. I can't continue with this issue.

I listen to a lot of “raw comedy” on the app and therefore get ads for ‘Adam and Eve’ which is fine. My problem is the same Ads pop up when I’m listening to music with my family. It’s not really the ad I want to listen to with with my 9 year old. This is not the only reason I gave two stars. I loved the app when it first started, it helped me explore new music. Now it just plays the same songs over and over again.

It is not at all complicated; you just start a station with the artist or song you want, and it not only gives you the song or songs by the artist you chose. It plays related songs, but if you don't like one of the songs it provides, you just thumbs it down. And, poof! It's gone. Point is, very easy to use, plus, it's free!

Update: problem described below is now fixed. It took just about 3 months though to fix it-I even wrote up a detailed problem description ticket and provided it to Pandora, only to be told they were working on it- so I dealt with 3 months of subpar performance which I paid for. I’m only increasing to 2 stars since I’m sure this will happen again. Sound quality is still pretty inconsistent for paying customers - some songs are 192kps, but clearly not all. I now give them 2.5 stars, up from 1. Original review— Pandora used to work pretty well with my Alpine CDE W265BT head unit, but ever since the update from about 3 weeks ago (November 17), now the app never works on first try. I always plug in the lightning cable instead of Bluetooth for better audio quality - so it’s pretty unacceptable and disappointing that a modern iPhone 8 and head-unit advertised to work with Pandora do not properly work together. I now must enter the Pandora app, then close it out, then plug it into my head unit in order for music to play. It used to be seamless operation, but now it’s just terrible and distracting. Oh...and usually after a Pandora update, which seems to be weekly, it’s your responsibility to go into settings and set the audio quality back to High again since it usually defaults back low quality. The music stations also constantly play the same 20 or so songs— it’s like having that same mix cd playing the same music all the time. Despite the claims of creating a curated playlists for paying customers (like me)..its still the listener’s responsibility to constantly tell the app that a song had been played too much (which is a buried setting/feature). The thumbs up and down is flat out ignored in some cases.

This app is basically pointless now. It absolutely does not compare to Apple Music or even YouTube Red... The only way you can pick any song is to pay a subscription, which is normal for Apple Music and Red. Most people would like an app that you can pick any song without ads and just listen to music. Why do you have to pay? It’s to the point where I have to go on YouTube and listen to a video of the song I desire just to enjoy a 3 minute song.. keep in mind the whole time I’m staring at other video thumbnails.. Pandora, this app is trash. I’m just going to spend the money every month on Apple Music and be able to play any song I choose without having to data or use your app Pandora which is slow as hell. I understand I have really no logical argument as most apps rules are the same but come on.. it’s just Music.. if Pandora really wanted to stay up with Apple Music they would just let us choose whatever song we desired. It’s not that big of a deal you money hogs.

We particularly love the “shuffle” Pandora offers! On shuffle Pandora exposes us to new artists, which are included with our favorite stations! I find myself going to my I-pad frequently to look at what artist is playing new and beautiful music!! Thank you Pandora for being such a wonderful constant companion!!

Ive downloaded a lot of music with premium, like over a thousand songs, but pandora has been deleting them automatically, by artist. I’m now down to 700 songs and I can’t keep up with it. Please fix this because I love pandora and I don’t want to delete it. Edit: It’s been a little over two months now, and I’ve gotten zero feedback, and the app is still deleting my music periodically. I just cancelled my subscription today and I’m switching over to Apple Music. I’m gonna keep pandora, but I just can’t pay for something that’s not working, I’m sorry. I’ve been with pandora for the last 7-8 years so this wasn’t a easy decision, as I really do want to continue supporting this app. I’ll gladly drop Apple Music if pandora gets it together again.

For the past couple months this has been freezing and I have to restart it many times before it starts acting right! I’m paying the 4.99 and I only got it for the skip reason. I tried to cancel my membership and I can’t figure out how to! I went to my apple play store, went to iTunes and even went to the website itself and can’t go it! Finally had to email them! Hope they get it fixed soon!

I currently have a trial version of Premium that came with the speaker my dad bought me for Christmas. I really enjoy the ability to play specific songs and playlists in addition to the artist-based stations, but I have to give four stars due to connectivity issues. My phone’s WiFi displays full connectivity, but I’ll often open Pandora and be greeted with a “looks like we’re having trouble connecting to the internet.” I then have to spend several minutes convincing the app that I don’t need to use offline mode. I wish it’d connect easier!

I wrote to Pandora support frustrated that I cannot access all subscription options from a mobile device (no matter how much I request desktop site in Safari!), and was met with a 2-month trial offer for Pandora Premium. Premium has far and away reshaped the listening experience. Tons of music can be searched and played immediately, repeat played infinitely, full albums played through and repeated. The songs that are not (yet) licensed for immediate search and play can still be made into stations to match the song's genre categorization. The user interface looks prettier than the plain no-subscription counterpart. It is a very inclusive version of Pandora and best of all, not an ad to be seen or heard no matter how many hours listened or songs skipped. Only drawbacks for me, the price and competing music service prices are all too high. My $20 iTunes gift card couldn't stretch to a second month of Premium. It is missing a repeat option, so a user must manually replay a song or album for each replay. And it would be very useful to have the options flyout menu (top left of the app) always visible no matter to which depth one has navigated in their music discovery. Nevertheless, I am very thankful for the trial subscription. I tried a paid month since then and found Premium still to be just as satisfying apart from the monthly subscription price.

As I mentioned in a previous comment, this amazing app was being taken over by an evil glitch. Now that the glitch is fixed, everything is back to normal, i’m back to enjoying all my favorite songs, and discovering new ones. The app is still just as amazing without premium, which I never bothered to try, the app is amazing as it is. And now all that is back. Although there is one thing that I always forgot to mention in my two previous reviews, advertising. The advertisements are not a severe problem, just merely annoying more than anything, you just finished an amazing tune, and then an ad pops up trying to get you to go to Six Flags. I know you cannot remove these, they are necessary, I’m mostly writing this part as a warning to anybody who had the patience to read up to here 😉. Although in the end, we all hate advertisements. 😁 Although I found a glitch in the new update, I am using Pandora on an iPad mini and when I turn off my device while using Pandora and turn it back on the lock-screen is stuck on “Burn by Ellie Goulding” it happened when I was listening to the song and had to leave my device for a moment, and now every time I use Pandora, this glitch happens. I don’t know if it is my device, or your app, thank you for reading my review.

This is unbelievable! I can’t believe I am actually being charged for a service that is unusable. I pay monthly for an ad-free Pandora experience. Despite the minor hiccups, I’ve been relatively happy with this app for the past few years. However, with the most recent update, it no longer functions correctly. I have even taken a screencast to show that I’m not crazy or making it up. First, I have to open the app, which automatically freezes. So then I have to swipe out and open again. Then, after a song starts playing, it will suddenly stop like 30 seconds in. Don’t even try connecting to Bluetooth in your car or you’ll be one distracted driver trying to get it play just one song. If I also try to simultaneously use another app, as I have been doing for many years prior, it will now automatically stop playing. What is with these developers who don’t test out the updates before releasing them to the public and losing many LOYAL customers in return?? I am very frustrated and need this issue to be addressed immediately (for a road trip I’m taking) or I will find another radio music app worth my time and money! Ps- My phone and app have all the most recent updates and I have had no other issues with any other app. Previous Review: Love it! I use Pandora every single day. My only gripe is that I wish we could like/dislike songs on the lock screen without having to unlock the phone each time. Other than that, it's a wonderful app that I'm glad to have :-)
Crap for free and doesn’t get better with premium

Constantly goes offline when I have plenty of service. Now it won’t play the songs on my playlists. I select a song and it chooses a random song from the same playlist. I have premium yet your licensing restrictions require that a lot of the songs I like require to be listened to on the radio part of the app. What’s the point of paying for premium? I’d rather deal with ads. I listen to this app while I’m driving and now with our distracted driving laws in my state this app makes it IMPOSSIBLE for me to get it working if it starts wigging out on me. The offline playlists literally play crap music and only play like four songs. When you go back into service it chooses a playlist for you instead of resuming what you had going in the first place. This app is a total waste of money for premium and a total waste of time and effort for commuters without premium. Like if I want to listen to a song over, sure I will listen to an ad but don’t prompt me 7 times about premium before letting me rewind like seriously how am I supposed to listen and drive when the app is asking you 20 freaking questions. Stop making things more of an effort than they need to be. The other day I selected a song and it started randomly playing other songs on that playlist but then immediately choosing another and another and so on. My songs were on a literal shuffle. Get your life together pandora.

I’ve been a fairly long time user of Pandora One. The poor performance of this app is almost making me consider leaving them for online radio. First and foremost, here recently the app has been real garbage. Every time I open it it’s either wanting me to sign into Facebook, or sign up for the higher Pandora service. To me that’s a bit insulting as a person that already pays for Pandora One. There aren’t supposed to be ads, and I certainly don’t want to sign into Facebook on Pandora. Here recently it’s been terrible about audio playback too. For example, the other day if I’d switch to another app or if my phone would go to sleep Pandora would quit playing music. An uninstall and reinstall of the app did fix this. Another issue I’ve been having is sometime I’ll get a notification from another app, the music volume turns down for said notification, but then it doesn’t turn the music back up after, making me close the app and reopen it. One other complaint I have is if I pause the music, the app sometimes just plain seems to forget once I hit play if I spent too long on pause. In order to get music to play again I have to go and reopen the Pandora app. Often times whatever song I was enjoying is no longer there. Really discontent with the quality here recently.
Ads, ads, and then more ads

Too many ads of course. I spend 1 minute (two 30 second ads) listening to your ads, ok great. Then a song comes on that I don’t like, press skip, instantly 2 more adds. So now 2 minutes have passed and I’m still stuck with listening to the SAME ads over and over and over again. The ad frequency is way too high compared to any other free radio out there. Plus, the music that does get to play isn’t even what I like to listen to. And a lot of time the music isn’t even tailored to the station. And then there’s the issue where after 8-10 songs, it literally LOOPS!!! It will the start playing the same songs you listened to an hour ago, or where you last listened to Pandora. Pandora is the WORST out there. Compare that to iHeartRadio who has a way better tailored music experience and less ads that are actually relevant to me. On top of that, the only benefits you receive after paying monthly for their premium is just “more skips” and “less ads”. There are definitely way better services out there that when you pay you get “no ads” and “unlimited skips”. Pandora is just a major waste of time, they’re only in it for the money and because of that they’ll eventually die off as someone else overtakes them; unless they radically change their business model and put the user listening experience in the spotlight.
I want an improved music service

This is Pandora’s last week to prove that it’s the music service for me. I drive a lot between major cities and service drops all the time. Even when i have good service the app locks up and makes me reboot. Lastly, it’s not clear what or how im paying for plus. I guit once because of the ridiculous monthly tap when all i wanted to do was pay for a year and forget about the hassle of remembering to deduct monthly payments. Now, i cant see (on the app) how I’m paying, again. Ill logon to the website and find out if I’ll just quit then and there. Apple music had been sending little treats and Pandora hasn’t been concerned enough to make the app work through my iphone ( so far) and without a pretty rapid service improvement ( i just updated the app) and a means to see how I’m paying for plus from my very secure phone, i will quit and move on. I have to add one more, i was engaged many years ago by a stellar customer service representative. She was so helpful that i nearly stayed on, in spite of the required monthly payments option at the time. When Pandora finally adopted the annual payment option again, I don’t return. But now service is suffering. Please make this right. Thank you very much for reading my novella! 😁
"Premium" upgrade removes key feature

For some reason I got some kind of "demo" of Pandora Premium, which is great except for the total loss of the "I'm tired of this track" feature. "But you get unlimited skips! Why would you need that?" Because it's vital to how Pandora actually works: giving a song a thumbs-up defines the kind of music you want to hear on a station, but you might not want to hear that exact song all the time. So the best way to build a Pandora station is to thumb-up all the songs that have the right kind of sound for you, but then put them on the "shelf" if Pandora starts to play them too often. But that feature has apparently been removed from Premium (and Support won't answer me, or tell me how to get out of this demo/trial that I don't want). My only options are to skip the annoying songs every single time they keep coming up... or bookmark them for future reference before giving them a thumbs-down, and mess up the kinds of music that Pandora is going to put into the station until I manually put them back a few weeks later. Their help files don't warn you of this but if you read carefully you'll see that the "Premium" help is in a different category and it doesn't mention the "I'm tired of this track" feature that's described under the regular iOS app help. Beware.

Since discovering Pandora listening I have found great joy in listening. Music is uplifting, I am able to choose genre that matches my feelings and mood at certain times of the day or Simply to get me going, it energized me! I have used Pandora to soothe my grandchildren when rocking them to sleep or entertain them while playing. I have used it while sitting with gravely I’ll family in Hospice, I have used it when visiting elderly friends playing music that was popular during their era. I have used it to comfort me , rather than relying on pills to help me fall asleep I Listen to music... I enjoy listening to music while working in my flower beds or sitting on my patio. When I don’t want complete silence I fill it with music. Music is like a good friend... it’s always there for me anytime, anywhere. I prefer listening to music rather than watching TV where there is so much trash and negativity that is depressing. Music lifts my spirit, it’s like visiting a counselor but without the high cost... it speaks to me through its words and melodies 🎼🎶🎹🎺🎷🎻so Thank you Pandora🎧🎶

Pandora used to be my go-to music app. I was introduced to artists I never knew existed because they were similar to what I already enjoyed. When I got a new car with SYNC3, Pandora was rock solid. I could move from house to car and back without missing a beat. But several months ago, Pandora started having problems. When I get in the car, especially when using CarPlay, there’s no better than a 10% chance that I’ll be able to open Pandora, select a playlist and actually hear music. Most of the time it will give me a list of my playlists, but selecting a playlist just snaps back and does nothing no matter how many times I select it. Sometimes the app on the phone tells me “Poor network connection”, or its stuck asking me to start a free trial, or there’s a “Skip to Pandora” button. But you know what’s not there? Music! My home wi-fi is unchanged. There are no new cell towers. I have at least three bars. There is no reason why I can’t do today what I did for months without any problems, and that’s listen to music. So I have deleted the app and reinstalled twice. If I have to delete again, there won’t be another installation. And that’s sad because an app that once brought me so much good music and introduced me to so many artists, now brings only daily frustration.
Can’t get it right AGAIN!!!

Once’s again you mess up the app. Now I can’t get it to work. When I turn it on the app then when I closed the screen to let it play in back ground. It turns off the music. Then when I try to put it back on it freezes. I have to turn off the app then turn it back on. This happens every time. Now that I paid for this service it not working. This happen 1 day after the last fix. Plus you can’t see whats playing in the lock screen. Just shows the pandora app is on. GREAT JOBS!!! (Not) (Next day) After I putting a bad review. The sent me a way to fix the problem the very next day. All I can say it now work and I’m happy again with pandora. This time it was a great job!! Just give them a problem and they will fix it. I might have been a little mad about the review. But at the time it was bad day and I wanted was to listen to music it chill with, and it didn’t want to work. I glad that the people at pandora really care about the people who uses their app. Just give a change and see what they can do for you. *****. 5 five rating.
Really like Pandora despite its issues

I really like Pandora. They fixed the latest crashing issue. I occasionally use and try other apps. Some are good for specific uses, like just finding a specific song or hearing what friends like. But Pandora consistently curated music very very well and I keep coming back, now defaulting to it for general listening in the car and at home. Jazz, electronica, fusion, trance, house, and artist or even song-based stations - you name it: I get an excellent mix suited to my tastes, with new tunes and artists I hadn’t yet heard. Yes, their ad behavior is irritating in the free version. But if you grew up listening to AM radio as I did, this is not really a problem. And if you can’t stand it, ante-up for the premium version. It is totally worth it if you hate the ads that much what with all the extra features you get. Keep it up Pandora. Just don’t make your ad function any more annoying than it already is (like popping up more ads when I just want to see the album cover, making me click two or three times to see it!). If you make it less annoying I’ll give you a full five stars!
Pandora Premium may not be so great after all

My headphone controls are not working with Pandora anymore over the last few days and Pandora no longer comes up on my lock screen. This is absolutely irritating. Who do I need to complain to in order to get this fixed?! Pandora is great. I always thought so. And I figured, it would be fantastic to upgrade to Pandora Premium (PP). I don't regret my decision, but it (PP) concentrates on playing thumbs up songs. Now that might sound great, but it 1) disallows the listener from gaining new music experiences from different artists, genres, and albums. 2) soon enough, I will grow tired of these favorite tracks. 3) you cannot undo a thumbs up after it is done. So if you thumbs up a song, you can neither unhighlight thumbs up nor hit "thumbs down" (although that may be extreme). What I want from Pandora Premium- and was available in the free version - is the flexibility of liking, unliking, disliking song tracks, and exploring new artists, genres, albums, and tracks. Still Pandora is great and receives 4 stars, but Pandora Premium, itself, is probably worth 2. It's not bad... just disappointing.

I always loved this service and before I was a paying customer, I was a regular subscriber since 2007 and I did love it but there are too many problems with it now! It is constantly buffering, it says it’s playing, the meter shows the music is on and it’s in play status but the problem is there’s nothing coming out! There is no communication between what we hear and what the machine says that we’re supposed to hear and I’m saying everything that the previous person reviewed is exactly how I feel and if this does not fix itself soon, I’m Leaving! I had to now delete the app as per Pandora’s help instructions and my stations and everything else has to be redone! Sometimes I put on gospel music from my coworker that I play with her once a week and once it comes on for some unknown reason I cannot get gospel off and it keeps going into my playlist although the station is the selected and I have close the app hit save and hit shuffle and I cannot get rid of it. Maybe that’s Interventional. Previous Review: I'm surprised to see how the music is chosen for variety. I pay for it, but the optional features are very good.i love Todays Comedy Radio station however, I seem to hear the same bits. So I hit skip a lot. Maybe you can add some variety.

Barely able to navigate app due to the overwhelming number of adds that they jam down your throat. Back to back Pop ups that require you to close, lazily slopped together commercials, and if that wasn't enough the variety of songs is pitiful. After the first 7 songs it just goes to a loop where I hear the same familiar songs day in and out. For how little this app provides it's not worth sitting through horrible repetitive commercials and closing swarms of pop up ads. Goodbye pandora. (3 month later-update) If I had the money to buy out pandora I would. Upon owning the company I would then run it straight into the ground and erase its existence from the planet. How you have managed to create a music listening experience that is so horrible is beyond me. Your listeners should love you not hate you. Annoying users with ads until they cave and purchase premium is a slimy business tactic. I have more respect for telemarketers. I came back to use the app to see if anything changed and I can't even open the app. I have a top of the line phone that can run everything but your app. It's almost 2018 and you can't get your app to function on a modern phone. There has been 3 updates and nothing has been resolved. DISGUSTED!

For people who truly love music Pandora is a godsend. There is a joy that That comes from a good surprise. With Pandora you don’t have to set up a playlist, so you’re never sure what song my play next. Pandora uses a song or band that you chose to start your station. They play music that is similar to your original chose. Pandora then uses algorithms that track your likes and dislikes of the songs that you have listened to in order to create a custom playlist for every user. I pay for the service that removes the ads and allows me to skip any songs or repeat any songs that I want.I have had Pandora for years and enjoy it so much that I stopped to write this small review. If you love music I think that you will also love Pandora. I hope that you give it a try. Music brings so much happiness to life, and with Pandora your music can always be with you. I don’t have to download hundreds of songs I can just listen to my music every were I go. I love music. I love Pandora.

Okay, so this app is amazing. Just because you have to pay for no adds and offline use and all of that junk it's a great app. I've been using it for I think a year, maybe more, maybe less. I don't know. After the resent update, Pandora forces me to use my free trial for Pandora Premium. I was saving it for my next summer vacation so I could really enjoy it instead of just knowing I'm wasting my week of an amazing Pandora experience. At first, I had absolutely no idea what was going on and for a minute I thought I had bought the subscription and being a fourteen year old, I was super scared that I was charging my mother's bank account. So, Pandora, if you read this, your app is amazing, but please take away my free trial and let me save it!! Thank you! I haven't had any crashes, like ever. (The teenager came out sorry) so I'm not afraid of that. This app really deserves 5 stars except the free trial thing. Okay, so, all in all, this is a great app and you should really get it. It's the best one like it.

Pandora filled my summer with exquisite songs and I found a lot of new music to listen to. I enjoyed the pleasant slow walks with quick steps in between running to soft calming tunes. I enjoyed the late night parties to Spanish music. I enjoyed the summer mornings spent playing basketball with my ball dribbling to the beat of drums. I could not put it into better words, but I felt like I was in love every single day in July and August. I cannot believe music has come this far. I cannot even trace where I found all such great music. The world definitely does not deserve Pandora because it gives more than we give back. I don't even have a favorite song. Because of all the great music Pandora has to offer. Rather I have a myriad of favorite songs ranging from R&B, pop, classic rock and romantic music. With artists like American Authors, OneRepublic, Pink, Daft Punk, and Taylor Swift. And favorite movie soundtracks like Paper Towns, Love Story, and Valerian. I've been using Pandora for a couple years now I think. But after an update probably 6-8 months ago, Pandora no longer works with a USB cord - on players, in my car, nothing. This is really annoying because the USB allowed me to control Pandora through the radio/remote/device it was connected to and now I have to use an AUX cord. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and done everything I can think of to no avail. The Pandora Premium pop up is really annoying - shoving it in my face isn't going to make me buy it. Also, why, if I pause Pandora for more than ~15 minutes, does it "refresh" and start playing a new song?! On the app and site it does this. I don't want to pause it for long periods during songs I like because I'm afraid I won't be able to listen to the rest of it! And your ads are WAY louder than the music, which is REALLY OBNOXIOUS because I'll be jamming out and suddenly I'm blasted with a commercial (I'm already hard of hearing, you don't need to make it worse, kay thanks) Fix these issues and you'll be golden 👌🏼

I’ve used it for 3 years and it keeps getting better. Minus the commercials between songs that kills my vibe it’s great. I also get annoyed by only have a few song skips. I mean there’s a lot of songs I like and a lot I don’t like, so I like to thumbs them down and skip. But when I run out of song skips then I’m forced to listen to music I hate... so I usually get off the app then. It would be nice if when you both thumbed it down and skipped the song then the skip wouldn’t count. To me it’s different to hate a song and skip it then to just casually not be in the mood for a song that you like but just don’t want to listen to, so you skip it. But anyways, other than those two things it’s overall a great app! It has some great songs that I just have to download to my phone after finding out about them. It always has the newest and oldest of songs of every genre.👍🏼 I can say if you download it you won’t regret it.

My Pandora experience has been getting worse and worse - I’ve been struggling to play songs bc it often freezes on any given song and I can’t play or pause or forward to the next song. (Its frozen right now I’m fact) I have the kill the app and try again. The app also frequently takes me offline when I have good connectivity. I’ve also had a problem where my Pandora will start to randomly play in my pocket. When I go to shut it off I try to pause it from the lock screen of my iPhone, which doesn’t work. I then have to authenticate to get into my phone and navigate to the Pandora app to stop the music. Only the pause button in the Pandora app doesn’t work either (meanwhile the music is still playing loudly). Now I need to kill the app which takes several seconds on the iPhone X. Very poor experience overall. The app doesn’t function properly for what it’s designed for and the random playing in my pocket (when my screen is locked btw with a password) is even more horrible, especially when I’m at work and I can’t turn it off!!! Fix these issues please.

Pandora was introduced to me as I was in one of the worst turmoils of my life. God will never give you more than you can handle they say..... But it was only because of Pandora that I survived!! Simply having the ability to allow the perfect song at the perfect time come through the tiny iPhone speaker was priceless. Forced to quit my successful job of 13 years to stay at home to take care of our 3 daughters..... After years of mental, emotional, financial and then physical abuse I was relieved when I came home and all my husbands clothes and belongings were gone...... it was a difficult divorce but Because of Pandora I was able to overcome the Obstacles, the Crushing barriers that would otherwise make someone give up or loose hope and become cold towards life and existence..... Pandora needs an update for a stand alone app compatible with the Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular. If I lose Bluetooth connection with my actual phone pandora will not work because it uses the app on my phone although I have the add on installed my watch. The point of having cellular on the Apple Watch is if you are out of range on Bluetooth with your phone you can still text, call, email etc from the watch. Would be nice to enjoy my pandora premium out on a walk with the dog without my phone and using my AirPods or out for a jog. iTunes does support a stand alone app for the watch so you can listen to music through AirPods without connection to your phone. Another benefit I would get here would be the usage of battery using pandora on my watch vs phone. I get home from a long day of work and my watch is at 80% and my phone is at 20% and that is off and on wireless charging all day. One of my coworkers opted for the iTunes unlimited subscription and I’m getting jealous for sure...

Pandora is one of my favorite apps. I listen to it almost daily. Nearly daily, however, it suffers little issues that frustrate me. Examples: The thumbs up/down feature is cool, but crude and its true functionality is in clear. Consider: A song comes on that I like, but it’s a live version. I hate listening to live versions of songs. So is that a thumbs up or down? Lately, if I have been listening for a while and my phone has gone into sleep mode (not sure that is the proper term), I’ll open the phone again and the pause/play button will be locked. The phone isn’t locked. Other controls work, but I can’t stop/start the music without starting a different station. Very frustrating. One more: I started a new station by picking a band (Alabama). Sure enough, first song was a live version of a mediocre song. I skipped the song. The next few songs that came up were non-Alabama songs I liked - songs I would like on an Alabama station. Thumbs up. No more Alabama songs. I quickly stopped thumbing up, then started skipping. Finally, I thumbed down some songs I actually liked. After an hour of music, Pandora had only played three crappy Alabama songs or crappy versions of good Alabama songs. I quit the station and deleted it. Next day I tried again and had a much better, but not great experience with a new Alabama station. Wonderful, magical, but sometimes very confusing.

I’ve been using Pandora and it’s app for a very long time. Like back when Motorola had phones out... In the last couple of weeks I’ve noticed several persistent errors. Each time that my iphone tries to bluetooth link up to a a vehicle... doesn’t matter if is my Mercedes C class or Ford Explorer...not even a random rental car. Each time the app locks up to the point of needing to shut it down manually and restart. Also, even after a restart I have to shut the radio down and turn it back in to get volume. All is good until I leave the vehicle and return. It’s live die repeat... This error was with my iphone 6 last month. It’s with my iphone 8 this month that I just got. I even had one of my employee’s with a iphone 7 that I found to have the same error. I’ve been waiting for this error to be fixed with a recent update but nothing. Is this an Apple problem? Is it a Pandora problem? I’m getting close to cancelling my Pandora account over it. I just need to make sure that it’s not an Apple driven “error” to drive people to iTune’s....

Pandora works great for me at the moment. I’ve yet to upgrade to premium but so far I can tolerate the ads (its not that much). I can easily find the songs I like so overall it’s a great app. The suggestion I have though isn’t really required such as recommended. I’d like for the rating of songs to be less broad than “like,” “dislike,” or just no rating at all. I know that I for one have songs that I like and songs that I love as well as songs that I dislike and songs I hate. The suggestion is that instead of just thumbs up or thumbs down there would be an advanced option. This would optimize my listening experience because being able to choose how much “thumbs-uping” or “thumbs-downing” a song will effect the rest of the music on my radio. This would, in turn, allow me to have more control over my music. Thank you for hearing me out!

I have used pandora for many years in addition to paying for pandora one. I love the simplicity and overall use of pandora, but I have never managed to have pandora on any phone without it having issues. The previous update caused music to stop playing after about 30 seconds keeping you from being able to use the app at all, very frustrating when I use it on a daily basis for hours at work. Now this new update has fixed the previous issue, but won’t even allow me to pause the music (even after reinstalling the app). This is on top of minor issues the app has had for a long time like crashes and sound issues that I’ve been willing to ignore. Constant issues have left me with nothing but disappointment in pandora which is unfortunate because I’ve loved the app for so many years. I love the idea of the app, but the experience over the past year has been terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it at this point in time.

I have been a pandora user for about 6 years and I have seared the next button on the bottom right corner. So when I'm driving and I wanted to skip to the next song I don't have to look down to tap the next button, I just Do it! Now as a pandora Premium user, the thumbs up button is on the bottom right corner with the skip button to its left. So now when I'm driving I HAVE to look down to skip a song because sometimes I push the thumbs up button and it kinda wants me to not pay for premium just to have the skip button on the bottom right corner. I am really REALLY hoping you take my consideration on at least just switching the thumbs up and skip button so that the skip button is all the way on the bottom right corner so I can keep listening to my AWESOME pandora without the worry of taking my eyes off the road. Other than that PANDORA IS THE GREATEST!!! God bless! #driveresposibly

I’ve been with pandora for years and have had no complaints until recently. It seems that for every three songs you listen to they will then have you listen to two commercials. That was annoying but I had invested my thumbs up on enough songs that I had a great mix of music to listen to throughout the day with not many repeats so it seemed like starting over would be a pain. This week I’m considering deleting it and finding an alternative. I don’t want to start over but they’ve started playing a commercial that is entirely in Spanish and I hear it like every thirty minutes. I can’t understand a word of it other than the company whose ad it is. In these times of political correctness I’m sure there are plenty of people who will be a negative Nancy over this review. I’m sorry. I’m not trying to offend anyone. If pandora wants to play ads that are in another language other than English, they should find out which of their customers can understand that language and play those ads for them.

I tend to use whether I’m at home or out and about. The most annoying thing is the pop up ad to upgrade the membership, I get it, money needs to be made. I totally want to upgrade to be able to skip more but its not in the funds right now. The pop up happens so much and gets in the way of trying to change the station, or thumb up/down the songs..super annoying! It does an ok job of finding music thats similar, but a lot of the time its too repetitive. And I wish there was a way to fix a wrong thumb down without deleting the station and starting over again 😫 I’ve done this a few times and get so mad at myself, it happens to songs I was waiting for to come up and...oops I hit the wrong button and can’t fix it. I’d say now its average...they need new music in the artist’s categories, some of the stations get real short after taking out so many. I’ll keep using but it gets boring and annoying with the free version.

Pandora is either really good or really bad. I’ll open it and the songs are fire one after the next and the next they all are random songs that don’t even correlate to their station. For example I downloaded Pink radio because ya know, wanted to listen to Pink. 2 of her songs came on in between two other random songs played that were not Pink. After the second song of hers finished, it was a complete shuffle of the most random and unrelated songs to Pink Radio. Kelly Clarkson, Taylor Swift, Tina Turner, Carrie Underwood... Carrie Underwood? They’re completely different genres of music, how are they on the same station. So I obviously skipped. I skipped 25 songs before I was out of skips, not even until I got to the next Pink song.. with my unlimited listening hour. Long story short, Pandora’s efforts to match songs to the specified station or genre or artist is absolute trash. Why is it so hard to play Pink songs on Pink radio? I will never understand the inability..

Pandora has a good selection of music and is a good when you first open the app. Only problem is after you’ve been on one station for awhile it will start mixing crap into your favorite stations. My Queens of the Stone Age Station plays more Deftones Station than my Deftones Station and vice versa. And it’s not unlimited skips for 5 dollars a month. It’ll play songs that fall into the genre when you first open the Station and after about 5 songs it’ll just mix crap into it. After about 20 skips it won’t let you and say “cannot skip this track due to licensing agreement”. It’ll also announce that a station isn’t available sometimes after only one or two skips. It has a lot of potential but it seems like they just advertise as unlimited by mixing in corny independent bands that are distantly related to your station’s genre. I have a “Seasons in the abyss” that is supposed to play slayer and related bands and it hasn’t played a slayer song the last couple times that I selected it.

I have the Pandora Plus and its so great where you can skip your least liked songs but replay your favorites! Everyone I talk to about this app says "you don't have any control!" but you do. Why I say this is because it is just like a radio station. You have no idea what song is coming up next! But Pandora does pay attention to your thumbs ups and downs so if you do those then you can narrow down to your favorite songs while hearing some new ones. I also love the bedtime timer and alarm. Just lay back and relax while listen to your music while it automatically turns off depending on when you want it to. And then you wake up to the music you love when you want to. Also Pandora gives you notifications when an artist you like goes on tour or releases a new album.

Pandora would always crash and go offline quite often for reasons I don’t understand. When it crashes, it makes my phone turn off and it resets itself, then it comes back on and all is well again. This is the only app that does this to my phone, it’s kind of weird. Music is great, however, for a free app. I always recommend Pandora over other music apps. Commercials is a minimum of 2-3 quick clips, then back to music before you know it, not invasive and tolerable. You don’t need to buy the packages for Pandora to be commercial free, if commercials were to be your reason to spend real money on the Pandora app. I don’t recommend it, it’d be a waste. I love love love all of the genre options! There’s everything you can think of and more. Very much enjoyable. Personal favorites are all oldies music, southern rock, classics, and so on. Enjoy!

November- for a month or so now it’s been randomly crashing. Didn’t know what was going on but a few weeks ago I finally saw it happen while I was looking at my phone. Program shuts down and you see a star?symbol and then you have to re-unlock phone. Only app that does this The June bug sucked, stuck with it not launching for almost a week. Finally deleted it and redownloaded. Now I can listen to music on my way to work and home. Been listening for years. Love how you can read the bio on an artist. I have noticed lately that within a 30minute window that it plays the same song. Repeat much? I wish when listening to a station that it didn't just play my thumbs up songs. I like hearing new things and having to create a new station so I'm not listening to the same old same old yet again gets annoying.
Using with Bluetooth is a hassle

Complete garbage since the the latest IOS update. Every time I connect to a Bluetooth such as my Kenwood in my truck, my older speaker and my brand new one, and my skull candy’s over the ear headset I have to restart the app up to 5 times. On top of that just about every time I’m on a Bluetooth device my phone will randomly reboot (sort of) and then I have to reboot the app afterwards and then starts right back at the beginning of the track that had just ended or right at the end. I thought I had found a way around restarting the app by just switching stations but then found that I no longer had control of the app ( such as >\=, skip or even volume) from the Bluetooth device or even the phone itself. I’ve used pandora for many years and right now I’m about ready to look for another music listening provider. Update: they have done 3 updates sense I posted this that all say “bug fixes” and “improved listing experience” it it’s still doing the same thing

Advertisements are too frequent. I should NOT have to pay to not have commercials. I can use other competing music apps that don’t have commercials like Pandora does. Also, just because I “like” a song when I’m listening to one genre of radio station, doesn’t mean I want to hear that song when I’m listening to a different genre of radio station. As humans, we are all in different moods at different times, and enjoy listening to different genres of music, depending on our mood. So if I am in the mood to be listening to a more upbeat and dance type genre, that doesn’t mean I want to hear my favorite slow love song from Secondhand Serenade. Please keep the same theme of music within the genre of radio station selected by the customer. If I want to listen to a random mix of songs I have periodically “liked” on Pandora, then I can listen to my thumbprint station. Otherwise, if I pick “Dance Party”, I want Dancing themed music, likewise, if I pick “Love Songs”, I want to hear slow romantic deep lyrical music.

I love listening to pandora but it could be better. I've been using it for a long time now. At times it seemed easy to use other times it did not. It would be nice to put a particular song on. Also I have different stations because i feel like listening to certain songs at certain times but you seem to merge my stations. I will be listening to a station and a song that I put on one station will show up on another with a thumbs up and I know I didn't do that for that station. Also I have been noticing that a song that I gave a thumbs up to is playing as a different version but with the same name and a thumbs up and I never even heard that version before and I never hear the original version that I gave the thumbs up to again.

Always using Pandora; if I’m working I usually have it going, at the gym I’ll have it going, and my wife and I have relaxing spa music playing to get to sleep at night. I really enjoy having this mix of music available for any occasion. HOWEVER, there has been this issue with the app randomly crashing. Does this happen with anyone else? I’ll be listening to music, particularly when the phone is plugged in, the music will stop and my phone will make the sound of the charger being plugged in. And that’s it. I can open Pandora again, and sometimes it will happen again. I have an iPhone 7 Plus, my wife has an iPhone 6s, it happens on both our phones. We’ve both uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Fix the crashing issue and I change to 5 stars!!! Otherwise, great app!

I’ve used pandora for years and have enjoyed it for years but as of late I’ve been having a problem where my phone will slightly crash out and close the phone and pandora making me go back and open the app back up. The song that I was on no matter how far in I was resets and I have to listen to it again or skip. That’s the main issue I’m seeing but there is one more. Every once in a while the app will tell me a station isn’t available but it will let me open the station for two songs or so then kick me out again. Both of these problems together make the app almost unusable for me. But I will say these issues aren’t for everyone so I’m mainly doing this to try and get it fixed so take all I say with a hope that it doesn’t happen to you too. Thanks pandora I’ve enjoyed every year and every new favorite song!
Great but not very compatible with Apple CarPlay

I use pandora just about every day in my car through Apple CarPlay. It seems anytime my phone goes from WiFi to LTE I have to close and reopen the app to get it to work. If my phone is locked the app won’t respond to apple CarPlay commands. This is because I can’t close the millions of popups through Apple CarPlay, they’re blocking me from using the buttons on my cars display. I’ll have to unlock the phone itself open the app close the popups then click play. If i pause a song while in the car before I get out and say go shopping for 30 mins and come back it won’t remember the fact I paused a song and it’ll just skip to the next. Basically it seems anytime I hook it up to Apple CarPlay it forgets what the heck it was doing and needs reset on everything. What’s the point of Apple CarPlay if I have to use the phone 75% of the time?

I’m a yearly paying customer. Never needed any assistance until the latest update jacked up the app when connected to either of two different cars. Bluetooth connection is messed up bad. Will not play any station unless I skip the first song. Skipping any track requires directly skipping on the phone where steering wheel controls used to work perfectly in both vehicles. When shutting either vehicle off the Pandora app on the phone continues to play and closing the app or rebooting the phone is the only way to get it to stop playing. None of the controls on the app work at all. Went to the same link the developer posted for everyone having trouble and it is some BS link to a Pandora knowledge base. How about some real support rather than just telling your customer try this and email us back if it doesn’t work. That is very insulting to a paying customer. If I do not get some real support, I’m done with you Pandora.

I LOVE Pandora, but something’s wrong with the latest update. I can’t open any other app or the music stops. If I pull Pandora back up, it’s frozen, so I have to close it and wait a few seconds then open it again. First world problems, I know, but I’ve been paying for Pandora for years and this has never been a problem. Just thought they’d fix it within a few days—I’ve been checking daily for an update. I also saw an article on Wall Street Journal that we can now use the Pandora app to control our Sonos speakers—and I read all the news releases I could find to learn how, but there was no how-to anywhere. I still see nothing in Pandora’s iPhone app that associates with other apps. Still love the service—just hoping they get it right with the next release.

The latest updates have been a disaster. Two main issues I’m having: 1) I use Apple AirPods at work. Since the last Pandora update when I take one earphone out to answer my work phone or speak to a coworker, rather than automatically pausing the music (which is what is supposed to happen) it transfers the music to my iPhone. I have to remember to turn my phone sound all the way down before opening Pandora so I don’t blast away my coworkers with my music when I take an earphone out. 2) I never know when the music is going to stop. Opening another app, locking my phone or minimizing Pandora now randomly turns off the music. Not every time, but often enough to be irritating. Sometimes just pressing play and waiting 30 seconds is enough to pause the music. I’m close to giving up on this app. I can’t stand the commercials so I pay a monthly fee to have ad free music but lately it feels like a waste of music.

Raised the rating Pandora is working on DirecTV again as long as it’s a genie or higher. Shame I don’t think it’s ever going to come back to the legacy DVR‘s🙏🏽 I hope it does. Just seems like since August and iOS 11 update a lot of apps have a lot more ads than they ever used to. It’s really disturbing trend and it’s not just Pandora. For some reason if you have it i7 or lower do A sync back up with your laptop and quality lightning jack cable, seems like the phones will act less glitchy after I did that. But I really have to say iOS 11 and Apple want you to get the newer phones I8/i10 And it’s been having a devastating effect on DirecTV Pandora first 5 or 6 months ago. Now it’s even affecting the genies DirecTV says there’s some sort of corporate battle going on I can’t believe it Direct Tv AT&T just buy these idiots and make it better

PAID SUBSCRIBER HERE. Regarding the new update: I don't like it! I'm not able to add multiple songs from one artist. I've spent almost an hour entering songs to a playlist, song by song. I hit done, and for the second time, it says I have zero songs in the playlist! Really frustrating! An option to enter a particular band and select multiple songs for a playlist would be nice, instead of song by song. What happened to the thumbs up / down option? If that’s not available, how does Pandora learn what I like?? Horrible update. An option to add which years you’d like to be included in a playlist would help those of us trying to plan high school reunions or time themed parties. We are a dual genre household, so we created a station with a mix of rock and country. We added over 15 bands. The station plays nothing but country for about 45 minutes, then nothing but rock for 45 minutes. Is there any way to get this a bit more mixed??

I am a paid subscriber and have use Pandora for at least the last six years to seven years maybe more. Whatever happened as of late with the iPhone updates in Pandora update I can no longer listen to Pandora when I switch between apps. It was nice that Pandora would override and work in cooperation with other apps so that I could get directions and still listen to music or be able to switch between and do a voice text and then come back and use the app again. Now when I ask Siri to open the app it freezes. Whenever I unplug my headset from the phone it freezes I have to repeatedly swipe it closed and open it again to make it work. I am up-to-date on all updates and this is extremely annoying since I use Pandora every day of my life. Also, Canada. Why doesn’t Pandora work in Canada? That is extremely annoying. Also my alarm goes off and Pandora freezes and I have to swipe the app closed.

I spend a lot of time working out at a 24 hour gym, because the late nights are my only time to do so. Because of this, I need a reliable music app to really help keep my energy high for those late night workouts. Recently, I sought the advice of other people at my gym about which app they’d recommend. I got opinions from other late night regulars and even the staff. I got a wide variety of recommendations. The last guy I asked for advice was the overnight janitor who always seems to be working very hard, with headphones on. I got him to pause his work one night and asked him if he was listening to a steaming app. “Sho nuff!” He said excitedly. He went on: “I gotta have the best thing out there. And when I’m spending hours every night buffering these floors, trust me, I’ve become an expert. And nothing, I mean nothing, can stay buffering all night like Pandora.”
