Doesn’t work
by MayZee17 on 2021/10/24 16:27
What kind of an app is this….? Nothing works. Nothing happens when I click on any of the buttons. Had to delete it. Unbelievable
My friends have the Evernote ap and are unable to share notebooks with me.
by dvdkitch on 2021/10/24 03:07
My friends have the free version of Evernote, I pay for my subscription , I can share my notebooks with them but they are unable to share those with me, I feel maybe I should cancel my subscription and get the free version
Task feature has serious bug
by Shawn X Lu on 2021/10/23 17:16
It takes about 30 secs to open a task note, the loading icon show up at the bottom floating action button. A simple task shouldn’t take that long to open.

First thing it asks is to create an account and you’ve got to pay a subscription. About $6/mo.
iPad version needs a fix or a rollback to earlier version
by BloomChicago on 2021/10/23 11:52
23Oct This iPad app started crashing on a regular basis about a month ago or so. But I could use it until it crashed. Now it just opens to a black or a white logo screen and is useless. I thought I'd get around that for now by using the web version, but that crashes the Safari browser before I can get much done. Looking at reviews, I know I'm not the only one. (This doesn't happen on the PC version.)
Does not SAVE on iphone
by pengrus on 2021/10/22 21:15
I tried three times to edit on iPhone and save, it doesn't save. I lost about half hour of work. Looks like Evernote doesn't reply here.
App is so broken. Won’t even open now.
by Kim01234 on 2021/10/22 18:53
Been using the legacy PC version forever. Love it. Have 4 paid accounts for different things. The app is useless though. For the last couple days it doesn’t even open. Ever since the big Evernote overhaul, the app is terrible. Why do they continue to try to add all these features when the basic barely function? It takes absolutely forever to sync, even on fast Wi-Fi. It’s unbelievably laggy. I try to go to a note, and even though it showed the note in the list, when I click on it it says it’s unavailable. The refresh button does nothing. As I said, can’t even be opened now. Really struggling to continue with Evernote. Love the legacy version, but now they’re trying to mess with success and it has been a huge failure. So frustrating. Takes so much of my time to deal with the app. My time is extremely valuable to me.

I love Evernote, but not the iPad version
by anotherreader on 2021/10/21 21:39
For weeks (months) now, the app crashes nearly every time I use the search function. I’ve repeatedly updated both the app and the OS, deleted-and-reinstalled, shut-down-and-restarted, and nothing helps. Evernote isn’t useless without search, but it’s half-way there. Update: after an update several months ago, the app started crashing (actually, going to a black screen) every time I try to open it. I communicated with the company, buy they’ve pretty much just given up as a far as I can tell. So, now it is completely useless.
Entropy at work
by duhcomments on 2021/10/21 15:43
Update 2021: 10+ year user of this app. Used to love it and used it all the time. It has gotten progressively slower and prone to just not work when I need it the most. If you lose cell or WiFi, or signal is weak, it has become reliably unreliable. Not sure if this is a pay issue, or an app issue. Don’t have this experience with any other app. Also seems to have lost its intuitive location ability. Why do I always have to try to find reminders? Anyway, kind of disappointed in the general direction of usefulness it used to have. Prior reviews: This is one of my favorite things. It has great value to capture things you need to capture, including things you don't even know why you are saving. Buy it, you'll like it. Many of the things that people complain (whine) about are often a lack of knowledge. If you look at the help, or ask a question, you may find the answer. This is an extremely versatile, useful and memory aiding app. You can do todo's contrary to prior notes. Update may 2019 This is probably old news to some, but learned a very painful lesson recently. I had some critical information stored on Evernote for an emergency. When I went to retrieve it, I was in a remote location with no cell or internet coverage. To my dismay, it appears you no longer have access to a note when you are incommunicado. Be very careful not to store any critical information if it relies on internet or cell access. Duplicate the info on a reliable local source as you may find yourself in a very surprising situation. Besides that, still a useful and well done app, but still.....

This app just keeps going from bad to worse… Can we bring back the old version so things actually work the way they’re supposed to?
Lag, lag, lag when it even opens.

DOWnhill……
by HayWire0831 on 2021/10/20 01:55
This was a great app. “WAS” a great app. I have been using it for years. Then…I got the boot. The app started booting me out stating I had too many devices using it at once and I needed to upgrade my subscription in order to keep using it. It said I could use on up to 3 devices without upgrading. I only ever used it on my phone, my tablet (of which I’ve only had 1) and my work computer browser. There were device names that the app stated it was being used on that weren’t any of the devices I was using it on, so then I’m wondering who is using my Evernote app on their devices? Now, I can’t even unsync devices and use it on my phone. I’ll be finding a new app to use. Probably one that has no limits. BYEEEE!!
Long term Issues with this app
by bread2u on 2021/10/19 11:58
I am a long-time user of Evernote. For years the poor quality of the app has caused me to look for alternatives. I’ve not found anything worth the pain of moving my 11,000+ notes created since 2009. When switching to a different application there are always things that don’t port (because of different feature sets), so, after struggling with the decision for months (and years) I expect to pay for Evernote for yet another year. The biggest problems: - Sync often doesn’t happen on it’s own. Often for a day, recently some notes took three days to sync - Forcing Sync is tedious and sometimes doesn’t work - Search on the iPad sometimes fails to find the desired note even though the search term matches what is in the note. - Search on the iMac fails to find anything in the last several months. It has been that way since at least Feb 2021 (I write this in Oct 2021) - It has often created duplicate notes, even though they were not edited on multiple devices. I have learned to not use Evernote in the evening. There are other quirks that I have learned to work around. Every application has quirks and we live with them. For example: I gave up on offline notebooks about a year ago when the work-around from technical support failed to work. Over the last 20 years I’ve noticed that software that has fundamental problems continues to have those problems even a decade later. Therefore, I will continue to look for a replacement.
Signs out too often
by Mega Congo on 2021/10/18 21:13
For some reason the app keeps signing me out on an almost daily basis, and sometimes it takes a while to sign back in. I want an app that i can use to access info on the fly, but this issue stops this app from being that. It’s very frustrating
App Is Dead
by tsd707 on 2021/10/18 07:50
The app won’t do anything but show the Evernote logo. Does anyone at Evernote actually test the software before releasing it and leaving it to the users to do the testing?
Forcing you into paid plan
by hahfjskBdfnakakz on 2021/10/17 14:52
I used to love Evernote and use it for work steadily, but their updates continue to restrict features in order to force users to buy their paid monthly subscription. Pop ups continuously interrupt work trying to get me to buy the plan causing the app to glitch and for me to lose work. Ungraded my phone and now it won’t let me login without buying the plan. It’s a huge disappointment
Long time user
by Louder Than Loud on 2021/10/17 12:22
One star. I used this since the beginning on the gen 1 iPhone and gen 1 iPad. The new paywall that only lets you switch devices twice is glitchy and kicks you out prematurely. You lose my business. Byeeee!
App is Dead
by Rooopert Pupkin on 2021/10/16 22:26
Evernote can’t seem to get their app to work. It just stays stuck on the opening screen. It’s a shame that Evernote keeps trying to add features when the core product doesn’t work. I have been a paying customer for years, I want Evernote to succeed, but they just don’t get it. Focus on making the core product work, then work well, before adding any new features.
Horrible interface !

Used to be good
by Dollarbill373 on 2021/10/13 04:54
this app was great for saving notes and being able to take them wherever you needed them, including other devices. The amount of paywalls was slowly increasing, but now it’s nearly unusable. Can’t even access old features without first upgrading. Considering no longer using this service

Good but lacking modern features
by Jack0x on 2021/10/12 16:32
Evernote is great for organizing, tagging, sorting and finding notes. But it’s really falling behind, especially on apple devices. - The Apple Watch app was removed and it does not seem like it will be added back anytime soon - Support for iPads is pretty limited, using an Apple Pencil is basically impossible since the sketches are so limited and lag to the point you can’t write a single word - After months the app is still too slow for quick notes. If you need to quickly jot a note down you will forget it before this is able to load and create a new note to type on. - Theres no clear direction for this app. They seem to be trying to make it a all in one productivity app. As a result the ability to take and store notes is hampered with more lag.
The best electronic organizer EEVER!
by DJ Falc. on 2021/10/12 09:18
I absolutely love this tool! I use it as an personal organizer. It contains my journal, my goals and my notes from my client sessions. It has made life so much easier and enjoyable foe me. The fact that it is web based and I can access contents from all of my iphone devices as well as via my laptop gives me peace of mind to know that my organizer efforts will be preserved.I also love the facts that notes and posts are shareable make the app that much more user friendly and practical. If you haven’t started using this app yet I have to wonder what you are waiting for. But don’t take my word for it. Find out for yourself! -j.w. Falcon
Garbage app but no real alternative
by listusertodo on 2021/10/11 15:50
Writing this review because Evernote’s app incessantly nags me to do so. Somehow the developers continue to make the interface worse year over year. Remarkable regression so far. What is most amazing is how slow the app still is after all these years and with better and better iPhones. Notes take an age to load. Cannot load at all unless you are online (a massive blunder they somehow continue to overlook). The only reason I use it because there is no alternative with adequate search functions.
Updates constantly break basic functionality
by znodd on 2021/10/11 12:54
It’s the tragedy of the Internet age. Someone comes out with an app. It’s decent. You start to use it. It’s reliable, the app does what it’s supposed to you’re happy. The app maker gets their subscription, they get some buzz and it’s a good little ecosystem. Time passes, some guy the founder knows started slack, or some new buzzy thing. They’re not getting buzz anymore but they have an app, they can shove slack, or Dropbox or zoom or whatever into their app. So they start larding it up with features. The old features are boring. Making them work is boring. Who cares about the old features. Who care about the old features? Your users. The stupid idiots who give you money and are stuck watching you destroy your ecosystem because you want to be slack. What is currently broken? Scanning documents via your camera. Which is a core feature of a note taking app and has worked fine for years. It just crashes now. It’s been broken for weeks. Who cares? Evernote doesn’t….

by Frog Grigson on 2021/10/11 01:21
Given that they’ve never fixed any of the issues introduced in the big UI rewrite a few years ago, I don’t expect them to bother looking at this one either. Authorization Error Error 403: disallowed_useragent You can’t sign in from this screen because this app doesn’t comply with Google’s embedded webview policy. If this app has a website, you can open a web browser and try signing in from there. You can let the app developer know that this app doesn’t comply with Google’s embedded webview policy.

Moving Forward
by cadetdusoleil on 2021/10/10 17:56
I rated Evernote at 5 not necessarily because of their features or usability (though they have many) It is because they listen to their users and actually make the effort to develop in the the right direction. Unless they change, I’ll be keeping up that 5 star Kudos

An app that needs your help to do its job
by review_man on 2021/10/09 23:30
Evernote is great for creating “note conflicts” and then asking me which of the two very long notes, which look the same unless you read them carefully, I want to keep. This problems pops up every time your note gets too long. It shouldn’t be my job to keep track a problem that wouldn’t be happening if I just write in google docs all the time.
$5.83 per month sticker shock🙁
by AndroidPrincess on 2021/10/09 15:29
To be fair, I downloaded EverNote and deleted it before actually trying it. Forced to switch to iPhone after many happy years as an Android user, I was looking for something similar to QuickMemo+, Android’s wonderful, robust, and FREE notes app. I have 400+ notes that need a home on this iPhone. I downloaded EverNote, then was greeted with a choice of $6.99 per month or $70.00 per year. The reviews for the latest version don’t inspire that much trust. I didn’t like the comments people made that their notes would close while going to a different app and having to re-search for the note that they were using.
Learn do become - April Perry introduced me to Evernote
by lleesa on 2021/10/09 13:18
It’s an amazing app. I always have my info with me - no more digging searching or leaving my list at home or the office or in car etc. Everything at my finger tips. I figured out quickly that basically anything I know I will want to reference, have accessible, or will want to share and be looking for needs to be saved to Evernote. Life changing app. I love love it!! Lisa
It's not a popular opinion, but...
by RoryBlyth on 2021/10/08 22:58
It's worse every time. Slow, bloated, cluttered: Evernote v.WhateverItIsRightNow. Keyboard support? None. For a writing app that's just stupid. ::shrug:: I've watched the Evernote car slowly crash ever sine the company went the unnecessarily complex Franklin Covey route ("productivity" tools - gimme a break). Evernote's former competitor was itself. Now it's joined a saturated market of notepads fronted by a useless home screen of widgets and plug-ins. Eventually your home screen will look like kids decorated it with fridge magnets. Using it, along with customizable buttons, will one day be punishment for jumping on the bandwagon and clapping for everything Evernote does. These tools just make people feel more productive. To *be* more productive, the app needs to give us room to work. In a text editor, that begins with shortcut support. Evernote has the most pathetic collection of shortcuts I've ever seen. There's no snark there. It's just true. I'm done.
A Writer’s Dream

I wrote my first book on the Evernote app and I’m in the process of writing my second. The platform is user friendly and easy to navigate, and is designed with many note-taking features, ultimately setting a writer up for success.

YOU’LL BE HACKED! Not worth it.
by aa8552a on 2021/10/07 21:20
I’ve only been hacked knowingly 3 times before Evernote, an app that no one really needs considering there are hundreds of alternatives for free. Now, I’ve been hacked more than 10 times on Evernote from devices across the world. And even though I let Evernote know of the situation and removed all those devices and confirmed they’re not me, hackers still continue to log in my account. Ever since then, my other accounts on various apps and website have been hacked daily and I had to shut down my bank account as they now have access to my card info. My God just please update your cyber security, I’ve never seen such horrible security in an everyday app, especially one that I was paying for! So frustrating, disappointing, and honestly scary. Cheers for ruining my safety online!
You just ruined it
by Squack you on 2021/10/07 19:32
And I’m not talking about the subscription. The only reason I used this app for years was its design. I liked the way it was organized. I liked that when I opened it I saw all my notes right in line. And now — what in the world is that??? I don’t like the way it displays now and I can’t see how can I make the old way of viewing notes being a view by default. Now it always shows me the new way of notes and I found it pretty messy. I don’t like the way it changed the interface inside the notes ether. So sad. It was really inspiring to me for so many years. I guess it’s time to say goodbye

Critical
by Assaultan on 2021/10/06 08:41
I have been using this app for the better part of a year now. All my notes are migrated into this app, which allows me to access them through the cloud infrastructure anywhere I go. The app is just as convenient as the website, which allows me to perform work, record and recall thoughts and keep track of anything that I deem noteworthy. Overall, this app has empowered me and has now become an extension of my thought process. I feel safe storing my thoughts here as it was recommended to me by a high-school teacher 10 years ago, and he uses it to this day.
PC to Phone Sync Messed Up
by WolvEngr2012 on 2021/10/06 03:21
For many months now, the syncing between PC and iOS has been funky. Things go missing, formatting is screwy, notes get duplicated due to sync errors, etc. My biggest complaint is the formatting. It is not the same on PC and iOS. What I type on one platform and format correctly looks like junk on the other. There’s tons of issues with 2 users editing a note near the same time on iOS. My wife and I use Evernote for packing lists, but after many notes duplicating, we now only use one phone to check off the list.
Frustratingly unusable for writing on iPad
by CAV311 on 2021/10/06 03:18
I got this app for law school predominantly to write handwritten notes on my iPad and have access to them (and be able to search them) on my computer. This year, the app has proved practically unworkable. It’s slow. It will randomly fail to save my handwritten sketches—losing valuable notes forever. It is also responding poorly to the Apple Pencil. The writing registers on a delay, which makes it hard to write. This isn’t a problem with the pencil because it works perfectly in the Apple notes app. I used to really love Evernote, but now it is just a relentless source of frustration. Spending $60 to use such a nonfunctional app is ridiculous.

Really Old > Interim > Current Evernote Experience
by earcandy! on 2021/10/05 16:08
Evernote prompted me to review their app! So bear with me, please. This is a long saga. Lost my investment in my original paid version after Evernote blocked me from that account, as a result of a SNAFU involving multiple players: Evernote (which sold itself; stuff happened in “upgrades”); a 3rd party; me (frazzled, distracted, deeply involved in family member’s medical issues [still am]) — yeah, I’m inverting brackets & parens). Really Old (AKA Original) Evernote Experience: Happily used Evernote in its original, simple, free form for quite a while. 5-star experience. Started loading everything into Evernote, attempting to go paperless. Lauded Evernote to everyone. Then Evernote sold itself. Interim (latter part of 2018 forward to recent use) Evernote Experience: After being blocked from my original account due to the new owner upgrading Evernote to put its stamp on it, I set up a new account, then upgraded it to a paid subscription so I could manage a growing brood of devices, all the while arguing with Evernote’s tech staff about my inaccessible data housed in the original account. Thought I’d finally settled that: Evernote finally combined my original data from the really old/original account with those of the newer/paid account (AKA now, an interim account). After the combined/interim account rocked along for a few years, Evernote/new owner did a massive upgrade. It corrupted all of my data. Evernote never coughed up a stored version from pre-corruption days. After mourning that, & starting to edit the most critical notes first, I totally lost access to the original version’s data, corrupted or not. All I could/can see are the interim account’s data. Evernote didn’t recognize me. And, Evernote had tied my subscription to the original account’s email address, so I also got bumped down to free-version status, on my interim account. New Evernote Experience: Why’d I lose the combined data? Turned out that the original account’s 3rd party host of email address had blocked access to the original account’s email address. Background: 3rd party had announced a transition plan shortly after I’d gotten Evernote to combine the original and interim account’s data. The 3rd party stalled their transition for over a year. I was constantly making calls & emailing them. Until the pandemic struck. Somehow, the 3rd party did a transition in the middle of the pandemic. Upshot? I was once again shut off from the bulk of my data, which coincidentally includes my most critical notes. Finally began dealing with the very few notes that I’d actually set up under the interim account. Then, just recently, I upgraded the free account to a paid version. Evernote again acted like it didn’t know me, made me reverify, then threw me into an intro screen that had no visible exit. So I killed the app, rebooted. Finagled quite a while, & it finally acknowledged me & revealed my interim account’s paltry amount of docs. Still don’t have access to the voluminous docs/notes from the original account. Saga to continue. Am trying to work with my original account’s email address host (they’re pretty intransigent). And am trying to validate with Evernote who I am so they will fork over my missing, original-account data. Am also copying this & putting it into an email to myself, JIC the powers that be don’t post my saga.
Was awesome now useless
by Snook16365 on 2021/10/05 13:38
This app was great until they took away Siri integration. As I am on the road constantly I need hands-free ability to annotate my notes and Siri integration made that possible. Now Evernote is practically useless for me.
If you offer a free version, let it be free of nagging
by A.J.A.K. on 2021/10/05 11:11
Dear Evernote: So - you ignore your customers feedback asking you to stop with the upgrade offer pop ups in the app. Fine. I’m a writer, and when I have an idea, I need to quickly grab my iPad, open Evernote, and get that idea down while it’s fresh. Your frequent, annoying pop ups asking me to upgrade take me out of that flow. So - I’ll just do the only thing I can short of deleting the app, for now. Every time I get a pop up, I will leave a 1-star review in the App Store telling users why they should run screaming from your company. Have a good day.
Failing to provide paid services or credit when they don’t deliver
by Greg089 on 2021/10/05 02:57
I’ve paid for an offline plan and it does not work. Evernote support has confirmed that it does not work, has no ETA on a fix, and won’t provide any credit for the time during which I am unable to use the feature I am paying for. Classic example of a company that does not care about anything but the bottom line. While there are facets of the service I truly love, this rude support, several other bugs, and removal of some of the features I love most (like a map to display location data for notes where you’ve added GPS data) has left me very frustrated. Look for other options.
Issues between app and desktop
by Melana2000 on 2021/10/04 20:25
Formatting and checklists don’t sync up. Have to constantly redo checklists when going between the two. The checklist completed on app has a strikethrough. On desktop it does not. I can’t find the ability to put a strike through on the completed tasks on desktop, so now I format the strike through on the app. Annoying because I share a task list with my mom and she only uses the desktop version. Checklist boxes double up between desktop and app. Other formatting issues are font size differences between app and desktop. Also I end up with two, three, four dups of lists. Must be a bug. Annoying because then I have to manually delete the dups and I always worry I might delete the most recent one by mistake. Why are these simple bugs not fixed? It’s been like this for a couple years. Come on, Evernote!!
SNEAKY SUBSCRIPTION!
by sweetsilks on 2021/10/04 19:50
I downloaded this and when I went to use first time, had to create account with email and password (fine) andTHAT IS when they tell you it’s a subscription. Finally found that little tidbit at the very bottom of their app description. No thanks, I’ll use the Apple Notes which is free and awesomely made!

Got worse as years went by
by Commuter/Mt biker on 2021/10/03 09:49
I have used Evernote for many years. At some point however they got worse and the app in particular has gotten really bad. Lags, search is very slow, takes very long time to load notes sometimes.
Fairly good
by Prometheas on 2021/10/02 17:52
Evernote used to be the note-taking king. Unfortunately, it’s lost lots of ground as competitors caught up, as OCR image search is now increasingly common (including in Apple Notes). Evernote does do that but better a job at being cross-platform, however, so I continue to find value in contexts wherein I collaborate and share info with folks who use non-Apple platforms. To be fair, however, I haven’t dived deeply into the app’s whole new dashboard UI.
Frustrating Return to Evernote
by Dianne n Chris on 2021/10/02 16:44
I've heard about enhancements made to Evernote and reinstalled and paid for a 1 month pro subscription to try it out. I am running iOS 15 on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. Each and every time I attempt to link a Google calendar, Evernote shuts down. Rebooting app and my iPhone does not resolve the issue.
The prompts to rate the app are annoying

Meh. It’s an app

EVERNOTE
by D. Reviews on 2021/10/01 14:26
Evernote is one of a very few MUST HAVE apps that I use. It helps me keep all of my notes organized in a way that works for me and never disappoints! I VERY HIGHLY recommend!
Better, but still riddled with way too many problems
by Zack CF on 2021/09/30 17:37
We waited years for this new version of “the bug-ridden elephant” that was going to fix its issues. Now, a year after this new version, Evernote is still plagued with piles of problems: - It usually takes 20-40 seconds to sync even a one-character change in a note on iOS. Even switching to a different note can’t convince Evernote the previous note is ready for syncing. This leads to note conflicts and lost data. - Evernote now forces users to endure their new Home Screen every time you open the app, rather than going directly to your notes. This is just more taps, and more distractions between me and my notes, and there’s no setting to override this. - Search now requires many awkward taps for even the simplest search, makes combining search terms with tags and other filters confusing, and requires many button taps to clear a search and do a new one. The new Search is a mess. - Evernote forces users to start entering the body of the note before the title, requiring extra button pushes (and distractions) to create notes. Unlike the earlier version, there is no setting to override this. - Pressing the Tab button on the iPad’s keyboard while entering a bullet list reverses out the tab, instead of indenting, like every other app has done for 30+ years. - Migrating to a new iPad or iPhone is a disaster. Evernote crashes after about 100MB gets downloaded for offline access. The only way around this is to manually download each of your notebooks one by one. All this is a shame because there are actually many really wonderful improvements in this new Evernote, especially in managing bullet lists and the overall interface and stability. But, these get lost in piles of other problems. And, as someone who has been in software development for decades, it is mind-boggling to watch the slow pace of improvement and Evernote’s continuing inability to overcome its challenges.
Very inconsiderate and in appropriate
by rcborkert on 2021/09/30 12:56
I just paid my annual subscription on 9/21/2021 and now Evernote wants me to upgrade to a $8.99 a month subscription. They have limited my account to one device whereas I previously had all my devices linked (all two of them, my phone and my computer). What happened to the grandfather clause? I have been with Evernote almost since inception. Therefore helping them develop this app. Sure, Evernote has been advertising their “new” upgrade but I don’t recall then making any statements that they would be downgrading a previously upgraded account. Then to do this within 10 days of paying my annual subscription. I will not be upgrading my account and will most likely lose all my data. Once again this is inappropriate and inconsiderate. Let alone extremely disrespectful to a loyal customer.
Stop Insisting on Premium Upgrades!!
by LKMAROKIN on 2021/09/30 01:59
I’ve about have had it with Evernote insisting in upgrading to their paid premium service, triggered by just about any action you make navigating the app or adding a note. Some of these pop up upgrade offers don’t even allow you to close out. You basically have to close the app and restart to go back in, only to be presented with another upgrade page. This app is now horrible due to this.
PLEASE CHANGE IMMEDIATELY
by kelseyann18 on 2021/09/29 12:19
As of today, a page is popping up requiring me to consider upgraded plans as soon as I open the app and there is NO way for me to exit out without choosing and paying for a new plan. I have no way to access any of my notes! Please change this IMMEDIATELY.
Not safe as I like
by ~OO7 on 2021/09/28 23:13
While I love Evernote, I hate that my account has or can be compromised & hacked, several times now. I keep valuable info I don’t want released.. I do not want to keep changing my passwords. The Marketing affect of removing devices if we don’t upgrade sucks… especially when you get hacked & someone use all your turns.
Phone version does not work at all
by simon999999999 on 2021/09/28 18:58
The phone version simply does not work. Which makes the desktop version useless because if I wanted to just type things out on my computer I could use any program.
No features on free version
by Hyscbmlitz on 2021/09/28 05:21
I can’t even order my notes or delete the annoying scratchpad from my home screen without paying for premium? These are basic features and should be included with all versions.
Frustrating
by some reviewer dude on 2021/09/28 02:08
I liked Evernote on Android but iPhone giving me problems. Signs me out at least once a day and now it has problems connecting to Evernote servers. Plus, even more often pushing it’s paid version. Disappointment is rife.
Worse with every release
by Paco45-lk on 2021/09/27 21:17
I’ve been an Evernote user for years and the more bloated the app gets, the more frustrating it is to use. Every update creates beautiful features and makes the basic concept more complex. Things just don’t run smoothly, the lists jump as you scroll, or other annoying bugs turn up. Long gone the basic but functional note taking app. Instead it’s more and more bloated with bugs. Oh and should you want to change layout of the basic appearance, you gotta pay for it. For layout change? Too bad that a loved app is more of a frustration now.
Can’t log in
by EmilyEmily55 on 2021/09/25 16:30
The green “continue” button to log in with email literally doesn’t work. It’s like the button doesn’t even exist. No matter how many times you tap on it, nothing happens. I just paid for a subscription and now I can’t even use the iOS app.
Please fix it
by MonsterRui on 2021/09/25 13:12
I've been using evernote for years and recently there has been a severe issue with the app. When i opened the app on ipad, after 30 secs, the app tries to "paste from my iphone", and will take my screen to a loading page that will never load. Now I can’t use the app at all because of this stupid automatic paste!!!! First of all why would evernote paste from my phone when im using the app from my ipad? And second, if the app wants to paste, shouldn't it ask first? And third, if the app wants to paste, at least work instead of frezing my screen with the loading page??? This is the biggest dissappointment and please fix the app.
Limited Free Trial
by EmilyMichelle801 on 2021/09/25 03:19
I would like access to some of the other widgets and calendar sync before committing to a recurring payment. I don’t trust that it’ll be as user friendly as I’d hope. So far, the to-do lists don’t update per day, making “tomorrow” yesterday within 3 days of starting a new list. The layout is easy on the eyes. I haven’t experienced any glitches yet.
Doesn’t work with iOS
by Yeeter Mcyeetus on 2021/09/25 01:52
This app is not compatible with Siri, Spotlight, or Widgets. The extra friction this creates for someone who is constantly on the go is a total deal breaker. I was just about to buy the premium membership until I saw this. Truly is a shame.
How did it become such garbage!!
by Ayeshatellis on 2021/09/24 17:40
Been an active Evernote customer since 2010 and the last year I have seen a colossal decline in the apps ability to even just function. From lost notes, delayed response, inability to save needing you to redo your note taking and just so many crashes!!! Two people sharing a note and making edits one at a time and still require to completely quit the app so the other can edit is bonkers! I’m so so disappointed. If there are others facing major issues my only suggestion is 1. Desktop web app is a little better than the iPhone or iPad app 2. Get Notion!
Suggesting Dividers within Notebooks
by opalacios92 on 2021/09/24 15:09
I have been using Evernote for a while now and it has become my to go app for everything I do, but what I am noticing is that if I create a notebook let’s say for my yearly planning instead of having all notes it would be nice to have something visible to create a division between notes to sort by months. Just like you would have dividers on a physical notebook or binder. For now my only fix is to create different notebooks for each new division I would like to have and is making my Evernote look too crowded with notebooks.

🤮 a piece of junk app 🤮
by License Plate Three on 2021/09/24 08:29
This is beyond worse. It's actually losing information now (as well as the creation of multiple useless duplicate notes). I just typed in information about students only to find it gone when the app restarted itself. How does your company get away with this? What happened? This app went from a mediocre app to a piece of junk app that isn't working properly at all. I'm astonishingly a paying customer. 🤮 I'm adding puke icons when I contact support now 🤮
Stopped working completely

Zero customer service
by big D mcvey on 2021/09/23 16:33
I have had this app for many years and it works as expected except when you have a question or a problem. Was unable to change my email on the account. Fine - kept my old obsolete email since no customer service to help. Then my account was hacked multiple times from Ukraine as I could see from the sign on page (I’m not technical sorry). Since the email they have for me is obsolete, I can’t change my password as it goes into space. Finally found a page where I can email my problem. Have done this several times and they are not responding. This is very concerning as one of my notes has all my passwords for various accounts (bank, mortgage, Venmo etc. ) and someone from Ukraine has them all. Thanks Evernote.
I’m tired of it 👎🏼
by typo_kign on 2021/09/22 05:14
I was an early adopter and the early iOS app was great: no feature bloat, and RESPONSIVE. Now…I have no idea what insanity reigns behind the scenes. The app seems to have a mind of its own and most views go into some perpetual refresh loop rendering basic navigation unusable 😠 The PDF indexing feature is the ONLY reason I keep going with this pig. Your days are numbered, Evernote ⏳
Overly pushy premium and lack of performance
by dzn379 on 2021/09/21 23:50
I’ve used Evernote for the last 5-8 years and loved it, but they recently started limiting how many devices you can unsync but still kept re-syncing old ghost devices until it locks you out on your daily allowed device. Notes sometimes take forever to load and load blank…finally exported it all to Apple notes.
Duplicate Notes
by Fortunaire on 2021/09/21 11:46
The notes duplicating every time I make an edit on a different device even after giving ample time to update is beyond inconvenient. Yet, Apple notes are able to update practically instantly. I hope this can be fixed in the near future. 5 stars otherwise.
Not What It Once Was
by wuzthefuzz on 2021/09/20 18:37
I have to agree with the recent complaints about Evernote. This app was once fast and user-friendly but those days have passed. I was really looking forward to tasks so that I could have notes, calendar and tasks in one place. But tasks has definitely bloated the app and it loads and syncs far slower than it did before their introduction. Additionally, the navigation is clunky. There is a vast amount of space for navigation links between the menu hamburger and the search magnifying glass but instead you have to click the menu then the navigation link. One extra click may seem small but what may be 100 clicks in a day is 200 because of the poor interface design. In all, a once great product that is no longer wven good. Very sad.
Longtime User Hates The Bloat
by A. Chadwick on 2021/09/20 17:50
Been a paying user for eight years. Use on Macs & iOS. Every year this app gets slower and slower. You guys keep adding crap we don’t care about. The only thing that matters is how fast can I get to my notes, and you’ve been losing that game for years now. Joplin almost does everything I need, and I am sure when it gets there I will be ditching Evernote. Evernote was 3x better in 2015.
Was Great
by MS1 2014 on 2021/09/19 11:57
Does not work once you complete the “mandatory” recent upgrade.
Useful but imperfect
by DonPablo21 on 2018/11/21 13:50
This is still the best app for my needs, but it has plenty of annoying quirks. I've used Evernote for many years, with over 100 notes covering everything from the grocery list to future work plans to my son's college search. I find it helpful having access to all of these notes from my Mac, iPad, and iPhone, and being able to share certain notes with specific family members or colleagues. None of its competitors offers the same combination of selective note sharing, table creation and editing, and text formatting. Yet there are still quirks. Newly edited notes take a surprising amount of time to be saved, or must be saved manually - if you aren't careful about this and the note is later edited in another device, new versions of the note are created or sometimes appended to the end of the current note without warning you. Evernote on the Mac can change the font in notes, but not on iOS, and sometimes routine copy/pasting on iOS results in text with bizarre fonts that can't be fixed on that device. The use of Apple Data Detectors also means that anything Evernote thinks might be a phone number or calendar event is highlighted like a clickable link - I wish this could be turned off.
Fantastic update
by Danny888 on 2021/07/28 02:25
I just don’t understand some of negative reviews of Evernote’s latest update, which is fantastic. I have been using the app for years and am thrilled to see the innovation that the new leadership team is bringing about a year in. It looks like it took about a year to stabilize, and now new features are a’comin’. Tasks is game changing, and Gmail and Google calendar sync has boosted my productivity tremendously. I have been mainly using the web app but earlier this week updated my iPhone to this version. Immediately following the update I was having all sorts of issues getting my notes to load in the app. So I sent a support ticket to Evernote, called it a day, and accidentally left the app running overnight on my iPhone. To my delight I awakened to see a notification in the app that I had been successfully upgraded to then latest personal version. All of my notes suddenly appeared, and I have had a phenomenal experience with the app ever since. IMO nothing comes close to Evernote. I love Google, but Drive is where notes go to die. Evernote is where they flourish. I cannot say enough good things about this app and what I’m seeing from the company. It is extremely difficult to satisfy all existing customers while innovating and expanding the base. As a longtime user, however, I personally feel that the team is doing a tremendous job. Kudos!
Lost photos I uploaded for recipes
by Turkey Sandwiches on 2018/01/06 19:23
I used to love Evernote until today. I bragged to all of my friends how great Evernote. I use it for many things including as a recipe storage. I am using Evernote basic. However, today the App lost 2 of my recipes. I’m very frustrated. I had a special pasta recipe I was going to make with my son. I saw the photo of the recipe on my phone and when I clicked on it and opened it up the photo disappeared. I can’t seem to get it back in any way. I think this is a terrible thing to have happened. I tried to organize my recipes electronically and pitched the hard copies. Now I have lost that recipe and another. I clicked on another recipe from the app and that photo disappeared as I opened it. I think I took these photos in 2015. The app worked fine for a recipe photo I took in 2017 this morning but it losing older photos. This is unacceptable. I stopped opening recipe notes and went to the webpage on my Mac to open other recipes and the browser version worked fine with the other pasta recipes I added the same day. But now I have wasted an hour trying to no avail to restore the image. Because I’m a basic user, I’m not even able to email customer support. The app appears to be garbage right now if it loses photos while the web browser does not. I’m so disappointed.
Amazing customer service and great study tool
by 3747282847363 on 2020/01/23 05:20
I love this app for taking notes for my classes. I’ve since used it as a weekly and monthly planner making organizing classes so much easier. I love that I can have all my class notes and planners all in one spot. It’s easy to navigate through as well. The formatting for taking notes makes it easy to follow along in class without having to worry about organizing my notes. I use the class notes template and there’s even a section for questions which I’ve found very helpful as I tend to think of things during lecture but usually at inappropriate times. This template allows me to quickly jot down thoughts so I can ask the professor after class. I’ve only just started to use this app but I’m sure I’ll be using this note taking app well into graduate school. I had to use cengage for one of my college classes and it offered a 6month free trial and after trying to redeem that I ended up being charged for the full annual price. I reached out to customer service and got a response almost immediately with a refund and they honored the free trial as well. I’m beyond happy with this fast service and doing the right thing, I fully expected to be charged the full amount. The only thing I’d love to see is different highlighter colors!
Terrible Update
by Djstep1 on 2020/11/19 20:47
I’m a long-time Evernote user, and I use the app across multiple devices. I rely on it to organize notes and recipes, and also to track bookmarked articles that I want to reference later. The most recent iOS update has made the app completely unusable. Every action is painfully slow. It crashes often. And then when I finally get a note open (like a recipe, for example), if I switch between Evernote and another app, then Evernote completely restarts and I lose my place and have to search for the note again. This happens even if I switch apps for less then a minute. On top of that, I use Evernote primarily to bookmark webpages, not to clip them. When I open up a note, it’s unclear how to force the app to take me to the original webpage. Sometimes if I tap the note to edit it, Evernote launches its embedded browser (which is ridiculously slow). But other times when I tap the note, it goes into editing mode and there aren’t any options to navigate to the original webpage. I use Evernote to reference recipes several times a week, and I had to stop using my phone for that task. Instead, I search for the recipe using Google on my laptop because it’s faster. Obviously that totally defeats the purpose of having an app on my phone. I’ve never written an App Store review before, but I’m so disappointed in this update that I felt compelled to post something. Evernote is a great product, but this is a terrible app.
Steadily getting worse
by rolfejr on 2020/12/03 19:25
I've been a paying Evernote customer for many years with a lot of my stuff in there but as time has gone on it's been more and more frustrating to use. Attachments won't download. Or you wait 5 minutes while it "says" it is downloading then gets done and nothing happens. Photos won't show. Try to bring up some reference document while you are working on something and every time your phone times out the app just can't seem to handle it and won't just leave the document/note open you were looking at - you start all over - search for the document AGAIN, wait for it to come up, etc. Search inexplicably can't find things where the title or tag has the exact word in it I'm searching for. And there have been times where I have REALLY needed to get to particular piece of information and just couldn't. That is extremely frustrating - that's the point of why I put stuff in there. This product started out awesome in the days when everyone was still using desktops. As we've progressed into to mobile era it just hasn't kept up. Trying to access my stuff in the phone app is a frustrating experience almost every time - and trying to use the site in a mobile browser is worse. I haven't put anything new in for quite some time because it just no longer fits well or just doesn't work simply with how I do things anymore in the mobile era, let alone the fact that the app in general just doesn't work well.
Extremely unreliable. Disregard for user habits
by FJH------- on 2020/11/20 03:29
I have been a loyal customer with 9000+ notes and 5+ years of premium subscription. The recent overhaul has introduced so many bugs and ridiculous design failures which are forcing me to consider alternative services. Sync has become extremely unreliable; I’ve had my edits wiped out by sync failures. As of now, Evernote isn’t letting me move my notes to different notebooks, due to some inexplicable bug. Very helpful features that provide flexibility to working on and organizing notes have been eliminated, I guess in the name of tidiness: opening multiple main windows, changing the created date (so helpful for arranging the notes in the order I want), magnifying the words in the editing window (which now cannot be done without magnifying everything else, making it unreasonably cumbersome to operate the sidebar). Then there are countless bugs throughout the software that keeps giving you frustrating surprises. The recent major upgrade demonstrates the team's disregard for the working habits of established users, and also raises concerns about quality control. In so many respects the new version simply isn't ready, and it's unclear to me why the company would be in a rush to release an update. An option for reverting to the older version would be much, much appreciated. Right now, I do not recommend Evernote to any new user. The company has demonstrated its inability to deliver a consistent and reliable product.
App going downhill
by Bernadette Minton on 2019/12/15 20:40
I’ve used Evernote for years, but lately thinking of switching. Major issues: (1) search function used to be awesome t has been getting worse and worse; lately it is missing simple matches such as plural vs singular, incorrect spellings etc. with all the text matching tech available today there is no excuse for this poor level of word matching. (2) I store all my recipes in the app and a super common use case is to create list from a recipe and or switch between 2 or more recipes that I am making at the same time; Evernote behavior for both of these is very time-wasting. On my phone c every time I switch away from Evernote (to add some items to the shopping list) when I return to the recipe it starts me back at the top of the recipe again. Since many of my recipes are clipped from the web the actual recipe text may be V long due to clipping issues- so I may have to scroll 4-5-6 or more screens to get back to the list of ingredients. There’s just no excuse for losing y view location when I switch to another app for less than a minute. And most other apps are able to keep my view with no problem- for example e-commerce sites with long pages of product lists. In short Evernote should get the basics right before advanced “recommended items “ features that I don’t find particularly useful.
Life-Saver for Schoolwork!
by Anxious&Obsessed on 2020/04/11 06:45
I absolutely LOVE Evernote and it has been a life-saver with my schoolwork, especially since everything is going remote. The ability to pair it with Scannable— another favorite— and then convert my homework directly to a PDF saves my teachers and me a ton of time! I was snapping a picture of each page of my math assignment and then submitting every JPEG. Not only was it time consuming and tedious, but it looked terrible. With Evernote, I can scan all of my pages into one PDF document that my teacher can grade much more quickly and that I can submit much more easily. I especially love the Google Classroom feature that allows me to import Evernote PDFs directly to my assignments. My few requests are: 1. Allow ‘tabs’ within the notebooks. I have separate notebooks for each of my classes, but the ability to break down those notebooks even further into units or subjects would be awesome! 2. Allow importing to Canvas, Schoology, or other school apps. It would only improve this already incredible system! Thank you, Evernote, for making my life as a student and the lives of my teachers so much easier! Every student needs this app on their iPad or even phone, and I know it will be staying on mine.
Desktop App Needs Better Security
by Mark Nosrati on 2019/09/23 06:46
I absolutely love Evernote. I’ve been a premium member since 2012. One of my biggest complaints that they still have not addressed is the security issues. Specifically relating to the desktop app. The mobile version allows you to set a time that it automatically logs you out. Unfortunately, the desktop doesn’t. That leaves your content vulnerable to people who wish to access your content without your permission should you step away from your computer and forget to log out. Yes I know I could use a screensaver to achieve a similar layer of security but that blocks me from everything on my computer. I don’t know why this is possible on the mobile app but not in the desktop. Also, Evernote does not allow you to set additional layers of security for notes or notebooks. You can encrypt text in a note but it doesn’t save that password in an admin settings area. So if you forget or lose the password you lose access to your content. These are sloppy and unrefined security issue if you ask me. I believe Evernote should address these issues and by doing so it can add tremendous value to their overall product.
Latest upgrade a total FAIL
by xray1000000 on 2021/01/11 01:04
I want to change my rating from one star to Zero. I CANNOT STRESS STRONGLY ENOUGH HOW THE LATEST UPDATE OF EVERNOTE HAS COMPLETELY FOULED UP WHAT USED TO BE A FAVORITE APP. DON’T YOU DEVELOPERS USE EVERNOTE? (BTW I never use all caps, but this app now makes me want to scream, and feel free to substitue another word that begins with F for ‘fouled’ in my above statement.) I have been a premium Evernote user for several years. I use it extensively, and have always found it easy to use. However, the new version just updated to my iPad and I am so unhappy. First of all, it is S-O-O-O S-L-O-W. It takes forever to open the app, and once open, forever to open a Note. I post a lot of articles from webpages or the Flipboard app, and in the previous version of Evernote, these appeared immediately to my list of notes. I just sent a short article to Evernote from Flipboard that took 22 minutes to load. Evernote just showed it in the Notes list with a spinning wheel of death. Man, I hate it when software engineers turn something that worked well and that I enjoyed using into something that just aggravates and annoys me. What a pity this has happened to Evernote. Afternote: in the tag list, the A-Z index has been removed, so to skip from Apple to Zebra tags requires scrolling through the entire tag list. Why do you redesign features to make them less user optimized? My former Evernote rating of 5 stars has been reduced to one.
Found a fix for issue below
by _nickname none on 2020/04/16 07:13
I’m not a paid user which means I’m allowed to have two devices connected to my account. I ONLY use my iPhone and MacBook. When I log into one and then try to log onto the second device, the second device says that I have to unsync a device to continue using it. If I’m logging in from my iPhone, Evernote will say that my MacBook and iPhone are already connected and that I need to remove one of them to use my iPhone.. Same thing happens when I log in from my MacBook. It’ll say my iPhone and MacBook are already connected and I’ll need to remove one of them to continue on my MacBook. I ONLY have two devices that I’ve ever connected to Evernote. For some reason, Evernote registers my devices as new ones every time I switch devices. I‘ve already used my two unsyncs this month and it’s only April 10th. Don’t be fooled — free users, you’re only allowed to use one device 🙄 I’ll be on the hunt for a replacement app. Edit: I found a fix! I logged onto Evernote through my web browser and revoked access to my “three” devices. Evernote will log you out of all devices and you’ll be able to sign in again. Not sure how how long this fix will last but for now, I’m able to use both my MacBook and phone. Edit 2: Evernote has confused my 2 devices as 3 again. I’ll be on the lookout for another app.
Customer Service
by Cocoleann on 2017/08/17 16:44
If you are looking for a company that has accessible customer service, look elsewhere. For many people, we don't realize how important customer service is until we are in a dire pickle, but, let me be the one to tell you, it is VERY important to have the option to speak with someone during those times of need. Evernote, on the other hand, doesn't seem to believe in customer accessibility or satisfaction. When having an issue with my billing account, I attempted to call the customer service number given on my bank statement only to be transferred to a voicemail telling me to leave my email address. The only form of communication they offer is through email or online chat. While that is great for younger people, there are other generations who would prefer speaking with an actual person to help deescalate the issue before it gets out of hand. It is also in their policy to not give refunds. My experience today was joining an online chat, being told there was nothing they could do for the extra $64 in charges they cost me, and to have a great day. I will be checking to make sure that the companies I choose to give my business to have a phone number I can call from now on to know they actually care about their customers. It also says something about a site that has almost as many 1 stars as 5 stars. Thanks for nothing, Evernote.
What were they thinking?
by Lehua10 on 2020/11/11 23:32
Premium user here. Tried to navigate around the new update and am so frustrated with it all. Cant customize the left hand menu - it always opens to all notes. Speaking of the search function! Didn’t they have any beta testers? The search is horrible! You put in a term and it gives suggestions, a few tags. It not a way to narrow to all notes with that term quickly. To search properly you have to use search language which requires a lot of extra typing. This version had made tags worthless as you either have to keep entering searches with each tag or you enter a keyword and a list of tags that include that keyword pops up but you can only select one tag at a time. Everything takes more clicks to find something, do something, or import something. They have also removed the ability to assign tags in the web clipper. Not sure of what they had in mind with this update, but this version is worthless for my purposes. I have over 2000 recipes in a notebook which are organized by tags. By removing the clipper ability to assign tags and the search filter by multiple tags this is pretty useless. Any suggestions on a replacement? Is there a way to restore to old version? If I wasn’t already invested with so many files I would definitely look for another note keeping app. They ruined it!
Don't pay for premium!
by miffedmusician on 2021/05/09 18:39
I have used Evernote premium for several years now. For the last few months this app has become so unstable that I find myself rarely using it anymore. I have already cancelled my subscription and have moved most of my collection to another software. The issues that I have had - and to this day I have not found a way to fix - are 1: Taking several minutes to load a note, no matter the size of the file, what the note contains, how long since last accessed, or which device I access from. Notes simply will not load. 2: I can no longer move notes to new notebooks. They are defaulting to my primary notebook but moving the note to another notebook simply will not work. 3: A few notebooks are shared with members of my work team for quickly sending information to each other. A few of my workers can't access the notebook anymore and I am unable to give them access again. No, I am not using an old device. I have the Iphone 12 pro Max and fully updated iOS. Internet at home and the office is at least 250Mb speeds, and there are no restrictions on the app through iOS settings. This app has become utterly useless and I'm annoyed that I stored so much data only to have Evernote fail for months now. Forums and other reviews tell me I not the only one having issues and apparently the devs don't seem to care.
Bring back native Dark Mode and fix time outs
by Deep derp dep on 2019/10/16 12:48
Longtime Pro user of Evernote and love it. It’s great for my dream journal and all the other notes I need to take as well. I just really wish you didn’t get rid of native dark mode in the app. I like using dark mode in Evernote regardless of what my iPhone is doing. It is just much easier on my eyes and I’ve been using it that way forever. I’ve seen similar requests in the reviews to bring it back, and it really doesn’t seem like a big deal to do. Please consider it, it was a great touch and details like that matter when you’ve been using them forever. Also the app times out MUCH quicker now. I have also seen many others annoyed about this in the reviews. I, too, will be doing research in another app or browser, and quickly move back and forth between that and Evernote to make notes. It used to be no problem, but after these last updates, it essentially times out immediately upon shifting from Evernote to a different app. Coming back to Evernote, it might not have even saved what I had just written and it’s back to the top. Please fix this! I’ll gladly change my rating to 5 stars once these bugs and features are fixed. Please listen to your customers or they’ll start moving to the competitors who do.
The latest “improvements” are not improvements
by ODGeek on 2021/05/04 18:16
I have used Evernote for many years and will continue to do so because it is the best way I’ve found to keep and organize notes of all kinds. But like many apps, the latest “improvements” are not improvements. For example, the default appearance, called “Home” is a mess. Before the default appearance was what now is found under “Notes.” It now requires two clicks to get to “Notes.” Before, when I wanted to add key words to a note, I selected the word, “keyword” and started typing the keyword in the text box provided. After each keyword, I typed a comma, and the keyword was added to the article, whether the keyword had been previously used or not. Now when I intend to add a keyword, I wait until the list of keywords pops up, and have to wait for it to find the keyword if it exists, or go through additional steps to add it if it does not. Adding more steps to get a job done is not an improvement. But it’s still the best app I’ve found for organizing notes - so I will continue to use it. I’ll just be more irritated about it while I do.
The new interface is everything I’ve always wanted!
by LizStAug on 2021/05/10 01:45
I’ve had Evernote since forever, and I have tons of stuff stored there. Occasionally I can actually find my things..but the chaos is my fault, because I’ve just dumped stuff in there and never organized it well. But the new home page interface does it all. I am truly impressed. It appears to work well cross-platform so I’m going to have at least one of my devices to open to the Evernote home page. It’s logical, visual, lets you look at and rationalize the information you have collected or uploaded, and lets you make notes on the fly that can help you understand exactly why you put that mysterious document there and if you really had anything in mind when you did it... Reading about the new Evernote, I found that some people make a journal entry or note a day and file it on Evernote, along with any relevant photos, etc. So I’m going to try that next...in the meantime, congratulations to the Evernote folks on taking a good program and making it great! They have really followed up and realized the potential of Evernote.
They broke it!
by Skippinder on 2021/03/03 16:31
Ok, so I’ve been a premium user with thousands of notes, and have been for years, and have recommended Evernote to everyone I know (to the extent that everyone at my last two workplaces is convinced that they pay me for marketing—or should, at any rate). But the iPhone app really has become quite unusable since the update a few months ago. Not only does it take eons to sync across devices (which it somehow suddenly can’t seem to be able to do anymore, despite having been able to for years), my biggest problem is the scanning. I used to use it extensively for scanning physical copies of documents i was working on. But not only have I not been able to do that (whatever they have done to tweak that, i now have to take ten photographs of a page to get something that is not blurred beyond legibility), what is infinitely worse is that there is only a 50% chance that any pictures you might have scanned will make it to Evernote. I.e. you can spend 30 minutes trying to take unblurred pictures of a few physical documents you are working with, Press ok, and half the time, find that the pictures have simply disappeared. I have stopped using the app on my iPhone altogether (because it is literally unusable), and am waiting for the day that developers decide to break the desktop app too.
Missing basic features
by Starsigma on 2021/03/15 20:36
I used to use Evernote as it had a system for my notes both personal and work related. I could store information that I needed to reference later, etc. However it is not what I consider to be a well rounded app. As no app that makes you have to use another is considered all that great. Not being able to create reoccurring reminders is just ridiculous. This is a very basic feature for a task app to have. I simply stopped using the app altogether because I had to use other sources to make tasks and be reminded of especially when they are monthly or weekly repeating. I even periodically login just to see if this feature has been added, it hasn’t. The app really needs updated to meet this basic need, and no emailing repeating tasks to the user is not sufficient at all. As not every one is on their email constantly some only check certain times a day based on their schedules. The whole point of having an app that features task or to do items is to have push notifications for you to get reminded of the task or even projects you need to get done. No one should have to go in and manually set them up for every single day when they are repeating.
Used to Praise this app
by azulpacifica🐚 on 2020/04/09 19:50
This app has been a well loved staple, it’s been an easy to use and search place to create multiple lists. I’ve amassed an extensive restaurant guide for the greater Phoenix and Tucson areas. It’s my go to assist for passwords, copy and paste text for my work. Suddenly, it logs me off. Every time I exit. Irritating, but not enough to change this well ingrained habit and love for the functionality of this app. It literally is a cornerstone of information I’ve stored for things I want to remember but don’t. When I log in, I have an iPad and the iPhone 6s Plus. Haven’t upgraded or changed devices, yet now my phone is being recognized as a different device. Only one phone. Don’t want to unsync the iPad because it has a keyboard attached. So I’ve been unsyncing the same ONE iPhone and yet the next day it saw it as a different iPhone, after the app installed a thing where you cannot unsync more than two times was enforced. Couple months later, and I am LOCKED out. It won’t let me even sign in with the previously approved devices. So now, I’m not allowed to access my personal notes because you want a fee from me? Maybe I can log in on the iPad next month and transfer all of my notes to an app which won’t my data hostage for a few dollars. You’ve lost a loving user of over 6 years.
Crucial to my lifestyle. One issue
by ChrisLee_38 on 2020/02/22 13:31
I love this app. The organization of notebooks is essential to my lifestyle. I use notebooks for school, work, and my writing hobby, as well as my songwriting. If evernote randomly vanished one day, I’d be in trouble. I absolutely love the app. I have it on my iPhone 6 and my Macbook. It works great on both, with one reoccurring bug. On the iPhone, the app crashes every time I lock my phone. Even if I lock it for 2 seconds just to test this theory, it will crash without fail. Fortunately, it ALWAYS saves the note before closing the app (props to you, devs). But because the app does use a hefty amount of battery while using it, I like to lock my phone between writing things down. But every time I do that, I have to launch the app again and load up the note. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but to no avail. That’s my only complaint. I encourage everyone in my circle to use the app. I’ve never paid a cent to use it, and I’m nowhere near where I need to be to require premium. So I find it’s well worth the app space and little glitches.
Wonderful app—watch consistency limited and spotty.
by gvmanderson7 on 2020/02/27 01:33
Love the app. Interface is amazing. Connectivity superb. However, there are only 20 spaces for notes available on the watch, and when you have 200 or so, that’s just not convenient. Also, though I have not submitted a customer service request and that may negate many individuals opinions and the value they place in this review, this is something that has manifested through multiple Apple Watch updates: the app on the watch will simply open up and show no notes. None whatsoever. I have tried syncing the app, I have tried updating the app, closing the app on the watch and phone and restarting both the watch and the phone...no dice. Definitely a minute bug that could be fixed and bring the Evernote app up to full potential. That and expand the number of notes available on the watch and make the search feature more effective as it has never found a note I was looking for when I used the voice command. But again, love the app, LOVE the app, just a few tweaks and we’re golden.
Daily Staple, but has issues - 2nd Opinion
by icotteng on 2020/06/24 08:33
I concur with the reviewer who has a similar review title to my own. I use Evernote for literally all my writing and have for over 4 years. The desktop versions work beautifully for both Mac and Windows, but the iOS version is buggy and has been for the past year. These bugs seem like minor issues that should’ve been taken care of awhile ago, for such a popular, premium app. In addition to the app closing each time you switch to another app or you put your phone to sleep (as mentioned by the previous reviewer), the app also has major issues with bulletpoint/numbered lists, especially when you use nested lists, as I do literally all the time. It fails to number consecutive items after you’ve hit “return”, sometimes it deletes a number associated with a previous item, and it also shifts entire blocks of text left or right when no such justification should occur. Overall, I love the app, I just would like to see these persistent headaches solved in future versions.
Maybe time to switch
by riverwind91 on 2021/01/17 17:39
I have been using Evernote for probably ten years. A couple years ago when it started to limit two devices, I tolerated since two devices are mostly enough. Once in a long while when I need to use a third device just to take a random note, I’d go to website and do it there. Unfortunately yesterday when attempted to do so, I found web version is counting as a device and being limited as well. I don’t really want to complain since I’ve used the free service for that many years. I understand the need to monetize otherwise the company will just die. However, there are so many alternatives which do exact the same in slightly different ways, but free and probably better performance. I think Evernote have missed the best time to grow revenue. Or has it ever figured out the best way to make money? Ads, selling goods, anybody remember Evernotes selling socks? Forcing users to buy or harassing users with premium upgrades are suboptimal business practice. Maybe it’s time for me to explore other options and start to switch. I’m afraid that one day Evernote is going to limit users to one device, and eventually die to competition. Sad but this is a brutal market.
“Improvements” aren’t always improvements
by LoriNeis on 2021/05/15 00:16
I’m an Evernote long-hauler. User since 2012. I will say that i have wished i could easily switch to another note taking app for the past 18 months or so. SO MANY ISSUES. I used to be able to record meetings, take pictures of documents along the way and type notes seamlessly and without issue. Not anymore. The document scanner has a mind of it’s own so I’m having to take a number of scans before i get something useable. The recording tends to crash the whole app, so I’ve given up on even using that about 6 months ago. App crashing creating duplicate notes is a very common occurrence. When I reach out for help the hoops they make you jump through like “recreate the problem then send us a usage report” is NOT a good uses of my time since the problems are sporadic, so again, i give up and just work around the issue. Searching for a document has become so cumbersome and at times inaccurate, so i just give up and go through about 5 clicks to search through the directory. The new home screen is NOT at all useful or appealing to me. I should point out that i have a premium membership and primarily use Evernote on my iPad -occasionally accessing records on my iPhone and MacBook.
No customer service
by SoonerAce on 2017/10/05 15:47
So I've been using Evernote for over three years now and I really do love some of its features. However, two things really grind my gears. 1) When they changed to basic free accounts vs. paid upgrade accounts, we lost the ability to access on all devices as they limited basic users to two devices. I have it on my phone & laptop, so I can't have the app on my tablet. So I tried to access through the browser on my tablet and it wasn't "formatted" for that kind of access. Now it just forces you to the app store. Beyond irritating. 2) There's ZERO customer service. As a basic user, your only option is the user forum which has too many posts to read, and it's just users - not Evernote help desk. So how some rando user is supposed to answer my account-specific issue is beyond me. Not only that, but from what I see in the forums from paid users, Evernote takes weeks to respond to inquiries, if at all. So what's the point of upgrading to paid service? I don't understand how they run a successful user-based business without supporting the users. It's really disappointing because when functioning properly, it's a great product.
It’s a great tool
by doxzero on 2018/10/15 09:11
It’s a great tool for various different reasons. I think an interesting set of features would be a kind of automation, e.g., the ability to set up conditions so if I write certain words the note is added to certain folders or has certain reminders set to it or maybe even triggers a notification to specific people, etc. Also, something I think should be implemented is title caps in .… well, the TITLES of notes. Why is that not a thing? Or at least a toggleable setting? Lastly, why is it that the icon badge notification number is not at all connected to the actual trigger of the notification. I should open the app and it should be totally clear what the notification number is referring to, whether it’s reminders or updates or whatever. The user is just left adrift once he taps on the icon and then has no clue what triggered the notification. It’s just plain bad UX and your UX folks should really be talked to about that because it’s rather fundamental stuff they are missing.
IOS Version 10.0.3. Is it Me?
by hmmn2 on 2020/10/10 23:01
I’ve used Evernote since March 2014. I updated to 10.0.3 a day ago & I regret it. I use Evernote on my IOS iphone & I use it a lot. Evernote on my phone was good before the update. One day after the update I learn that Evernote does not have PRINTING / ADOBE PDF feature as was in the version before the update. Also, the “Find in note” does not work in the notes created before the update but work in newly created notes. Printing & Find A Note are two features that I can’t do without. Evernote states in their documentation that PRINTING is not available yet in the IOS version. The new updated version does have some nice editing features such as undo & more highlight & font colors & font sizing capabilities. The inability to PRINT and the inability to make Adobe PDF’s is a game changer. I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I have almost 12,000 notes & for that reason, I’m hesitant to move on to something else. I’m disappointed in the latest update.
Great idea, great app, a number of annoying things
by amanante on 2019/06/21 04:04
It’s a great app. I would easily put 5/5 if not only for annoying little nuances that make it more difficult to use. I went online to see if any of the issues I experienced were already addressed in the past. Turns out, many of them were addressed a long time ago (like 5-6 years back) - and the Evernote team simply does not seem to care to fix them. For instance, tables are not mobile friendly. Like at all. You have to swipe back and forth to navigate. You can’t change the size of pictures. You can’t create a table on the app. There are only 3 font sizes. You can’t select thumbnail for your notebooks and notes, it selects it for you - which is pretty irritating. The size of annotations are not uniform which means they may appear smaller or bigger depending on the size of your picture.. Etcetera, etcetera... Evernote team! Is it that difficult to fix all of this?!? It’s been taking you guys years now. Maybe you should hire new developers?
Evernote still the best for organizing and searching
by MikeInCarrolltonTexas on 2018/09/07 02:36
I have tried OneNote a few times to see if it was as good as Evernote. OneNote has good editing tools within a note, but seems to be lacking when comes to FINDING your notes. I like Evernote’s search ability - select one ore more tags or a notebook - and then search within that context. I like that you can see Evernote’s list of tags at a glance on the left - and then quickly see a list of those notes that have that tag. And when you put in a search string, Evernote instantly shows you a list of notes that match, along with the first few lines of the note - even if what you’re searching for is within an embedded image (or PDF file since I have Premium). This ability to quickly find what you’re looking for within a thousand notes is critical for me. I don’t think ON is a replacement for Evernote for me - because of this alone. I hope Evernote stays afloat for a long time to come!
Security Breach - Please Read!
by JN896059 on 2020/07/24 21:53
This is a long review, but please read it before considering using Evernote. I have used Evernote for several years under the impression that information was secure. However, I received an email today telling me that someone had accessed my account in Brazil. After changing my password and looking into it, it shows a list of applications and ways that my account has been accessed since I opened the account in 2013. It shows that individuals from several different countries have been able to access and have accessed my account via phone as well as through the web. My account had been accessed several times within the last two months. I have never received a notification prior to today letting me know that my account was logged into in from an unfamiliar location or device. I have had several other apps/accounts that have been hacked over the last few months and many of the passwords to these accounts were listed in Evernote. Evernote is NOT secure. They do not monitor activity on your account nor do they alert you of potential hacking. I have chosen to delete my account and reset all information that was located in.
NEVERnote - Almost
by DaManahjah on 2021/02/16 07:56
Another update and AGAIN the Reminder App Badge is STILL broken. Listen guys, I get it, you’re too stupid to have this work the first time, but after 4 updates it’s still as if you’re unable to find your own rear ends with both hands and a flashlight? This isn’t difficult guys - your app ALWAYS did this before the latest “let’s destroy our company” app update: 1. An App Badge shouldn’t appear until the date AND time have been broached. If I want to be Reminded at 10am I shouldn’t have a badge before then (12:00am, which your lazy design currently does EVERY time). If that’s too “over your heads” just check out EVERY OTHER Reminder-type software ever created. I believe it’s possible that you’ll figure it out at some point. 2. The Reminder setting menu needs a day of the week reference in it, NOT JUST the month, date and time. Is it POSSIBLE that I might not know off the top of my head what date is a Monday 3 months from now? And is it POSSIBLE that my Reminders might have more to do with certain days of the week than they do with dates? Hmmm. Yeah, I bet that’s (again) why all other programs built for this kind of thing do that. Get a clue Evernote. You’re so close to becoming NEVERnote to me.
My most useful—and most flawed—app
by spcorcor on 2019/10/30 21:52
I have used Evernote as a paid user for almost its entire lifespan (>10 years). I use its desktop and iOS apps for nearly everything in my work and personal life. It is a wonderful tool. That said, Evernote is falling further and further behind its competition. The app is incredibly buggy and is in desperate need of a modernization and overhaul. Evernote has been promising this for years, but I wonder if that day will ever come. The current version in iOS 13.2 has one major bug that makes it *incredibly* difficult to use. If you are working in/on a note and move away from it for any amount of time—say to read an email, copy content from a web browser, or your auto-lock kicks in—you lose your place when you return to Evernote. At best, EN reloads your note and takes you to the top of the note when you return to it. At worst, EN takes you back to the “all notes” list where you have you navigate back to the note you were working in and find your place. This goes against all principles of basic multi-tasking and is a major productivity killer. My rating will be stuck at one star until this serious issue is resolved.
Font size issue.
by 1 & only bagel boy on 2018/09/30 19:18
Got this app after friends recommended it and I’m loving it. I’m more organized and productive already. Love the notebook layout and the cross platform from Windows to iPhone. But there’s an issue that reallllly bothers me. Font sizes aren’t consistent across the app on Windows 10 and the iPhone app. I ran a test to see what font sizes corresponds to small, medium, and large. Small on iPhone is 10 on Windows app. Medium is 14. Large is 18. Except something written in “small” on an iPhone, when viewed on a PC and compared to something written in 10 on the Windows app, the text originally written on Windows is larger than the text written on iPhone, despite them both being “10”. If I highlight the text from the iPhone and then select 10 again, it will grow ever so slightly to match the PC font size of 10. The opposite happens if I write something in 10 on PC and then view it on an iPhone and compare it to something written in “small.” What is written in “small” is larger than what was written in 10 on the PC. This is really frustrating because it results in inconsistencies throughout your notes. I know you guys care about organization, design, and consistency. So please fix this issue. Other than that, the app is great, would be 5 stars, but this is really frustrating. You can’t have an app meant for organization have something as basic as font size be inconsistent like this. Thanks for reading this feedback.
Two problems to fix
by BlindInsight on 2018/08/26 20:12
When taking a note, there are many problems with Voiceover. First, when swiping to the right, sometimes it skips over the title field & other times it skips over the multi-line text field. When typing in the field, you can’t move by letter or word & have it affect where the cursor is located. When The keyboard is brought up from simply looking at a note, the cursor is somewhere in the middle of the text already in it. Unlike most text fields, double tapping on it does not move the cursor to the start or the end of the text field. You also cannot listen to the entire note when the keyboard is available. This makes creating & editing notes inaccessible to Voiceover. Sharing to Evernote takes a long time after entering text & choosing the folder. Once I hit save, a loading icon is shown while I have to wait for a long time to share it. If these problems are solved, I will be satisfied with Evernote. Until Evernote is Voiceover accessible, I will use another note taking app that is accessible.
Full of bugs; subscription not worth it.
by mark58929 on 2020/12/18 22:02
I’ve been using Evernote for about a year, but recently I got fed up with suffering the multiple bugs and functionality issues. I use this app primarily for keeping a grocery list and jotting down notes, but it seems like every other time I open my grocery checklist there is a sync error and I need to manually reconcile the two copies that Evernote saved. Additionally, the app “reloads” the page every time I switch away or lock/unlock the phone, which makes entering or editing notes incredibly painstaking. I use Evernote on two devices and occasionally access the web app on my laptop. The web app access was not previously counted as a “synced” device, but after a recent update Evernote has been forcing me to either subscribe to their premium service or unsync one of my devices. After this experience, I’m done dealing with this app. Why would I pay a monthly subscription for Evernote when my iPhone comes with two perfectly functional reminders/notes apps? Sure, they don’t have quite as many features, but at least they WORK!
Staple app! Must have.
by R Shelley on 2020/03/02 19:42
I’ve had this app for years. I mean yeeears. I’ve used it across platforms and devices and it is seamless. I’ve never had it glitch or not work on each new phone I’ve purchased. At first, I only got it to take notes on the go when I was in military aviation. It helped me keep all unclassified tidbits in one safe space, but then I watched it and my need for it grow both over time and after I left the military for new professional endeavors. Other apps have tried to do something similar with their own novel touches, like Trello which I think is a decent app, but nothing has yet truly rivaled Evernote. Its easy to use and helps busy minds like mine to braindump everything into a tidy new entry while allowing me to build on it and reprioritize the contents along the way. I haven’t tried linking individuals for a shared group experience, like teams yet, but I am sure it would be a synch. It’s got pretty much everything you need from simple notes both with text and finger writing to scanning, audio, and video to checklists and more. Now that I am writing a book, it has become my writing research hub both on the go and while sitting at my computer. I open up a new web browser tab on my desktop and do everything I need to do right there with a click of the mouse. That way, I don’t need to transpose everything I am researching onto my phone a second time. Great app! Probably my favorite.
Revolutionized my leadership
by JETBatt on 2019/12/08 00:26
John Maxwell says that you should read, write, and file EVERYDAY. This unquestionably is the app which allows you to do just that. And best of all, it's free! Add copied text right into a new note. All your data is available on any device that you have Evernote installed. Move seamlessly between iPhone and multiple computers which are instantly synced. Just plain AWESOME!! As a pastor, this is an invaluable tool allowing me to keep a daily prayer journal, sermon ideas, prayer requests, and note taking all in the same program!!! As an adult with ADHD, Evernote is a place I can offload my brain, and get all those random thoughts, things I’m supposed to remember, and stuff I don’t want to forget, a place to land and be organized. It also provides for me a stable platform to GTD (Get Things Done) using available GTD templates which greatly aid in my focus and organization. I cannot write anything negative for Evernote. So I won't even try! Get it!
Great app but they don’t know who they want
by @davessuccess on 2018/03/17 13:32
I keep getting ads about using Evernote business but I don’t want their service for business. I do use it for business but I don’t think they understand what I want as a business owner. I use it for myself, I don’t have a team, although I imagine I will at some point, I don’t think that this would even serve my team if I had one. there’s only one thing I want out of the premium service and that is being able to use the app on all my devices. That really should be a free service. It’s stupid the way you guys do it. It’s incredibly frustrating. I’ll make this easy for you Evernote. The only way I would pay a higher price for what you offer is if you provided mind mapping or flow charting in my note taking. There isn’t really a great option out there and it would allow me to see everything all at once. You guys should consider all the ways people can take notes and I think this would be the next frontier. You guys also could make it easier to make charts and graphs. I think those two things would be worth the price.
Could be better
by Wrobl1bn on 2020/09/16 11:51
So, as of this year I decided to take a swing at Evernote. At this point I've been using it for about 2 months and I have serval gripes. For starters there is only one color for highlighting, which is awful. There also isn't any intuitive way to insert tables that I've been able to find, luckily I've been able to get around this by pasting snips of them in from word but it's far from optimal. I'd also like to have sub-folders within groups. It'd be nice to have a general folder for a class and then subfolders for in-person lectures, online lectures, and notes from readings. Upsides are the tagging system, that's been rather nice to have in the absence of subfolders, the UI is also decent and I haven't had any issues with creating folders or navigating between them. Overall more downsides then upsides, and that's with the premium version. I'm likely going to return to simply using Onenote like I used to in a month or so at this rate. I'll hop back over again in a year to two to see if there were any changes.
90% of What I Need
by Suz tunes on 2020/01/15 20:38
I love this app! Downloaded in 2013, it sat unused for a couple years but I realized the scope and detail it can hold in a way that's easy to collect. I'm a researcher of all things and I wanted to like Timepage and Agenda. While those are far better looking apps, it's clunky going between the two. Outlook is my email client so I use Evernote to capture thoughts on the fly with sync, it's great. As I'm filling in web info, I can save to EN, browsing a good article to reverence - I just use the web clip function to keep organized. I'm always adding pics so I can recall the content of what and why I wanted to sabe a clip. In my job search, I created several notebooks, one called Career. In Career I have job descriptions, wording for keywords, LinkedIn for links, and Resume for well, resume summaries etc. The only feature I wish was prominent is the calendar. And ability to change the obnoxious green default color. This app is my default app. Wanted not to like it but I keep going back!
Great app, but...
by Prsdc on 2021/08/18 02:04
This is one of the few apps I pay for, and use almost daily, but I certainly like the functionality of the laptop version better. One thing I use this for is shopping lists. I have standard items that I purchase from certain stores I frequent. So I created lists of those items with check boxes. I wish I could turn off the newer feature developers decided was an improvement: to cross out items that are checked off. This may be helpful in task completion but it is not helpful for shopping lists that one will be rereading periodically if one has to read thru all the cross off lines of the list. Another reviewer mentioned the inconvenience, while following a recipe stored on the phone, of the screen blacking out AND reverting to the main page of the app if it is not touched in a short time while you are prepping food. Maybe you could add a "lock on" option to the app that one could select when following recipes.
Overall still the Best Note App
by Heath.Rumble on 2018/06/12 19:52
As someone who has been using Evernote for years, despite many hiccups, I still love this app overall. There are still a few annoying glitches for the iPad functionality though. For instance, when you’re typing in a note, and switch to another app and back to Evernote, the cursor often gets locked at the bottom of the note, and you have to click into another note and back into the one you were working on to get the cursor working correctly—Super annoying. The only other thing is that as you type a note, while you have ‘Show Body Text’ selected in ‘Note List Options,’ as you type in a note, the tile in the Notes List continues resizing as it syncs, even if the text you’re editing is far past what’s previewed in said tile. This can be solved by putting the note into full screen or turning off ‘Show Body Text’ but I prefer the settings that cause this glitch.
Supposedly Better, But Worse in Ways
by Alexander Hendrickson on 2021/02/02 03:36
Even though there have been a lot of upgrades and optimizations, one of the most frequent and pervasive issues in the official online support system and elsewhere is the CRITICAL fault of recent edits not being saved and being completely lost. This impacts the usability in a huge way, because whole edits and work done is frequently lost if you aren’t doing a constant backup tango that the previous version never required. And even when you do, sometimes it still loses it, especially when multitasking and switching between apps. Before the new upgrades, I never had to think to manually sync after every important change I made to a document, now I am hitting the check mark to close editing on a document (something the old version never had, and did fine without) and swiping down on the note list in order to force a sync to the web version sometimes every half paragraph or so, just to make sure I don’t lose a critical thought.
It’s ok
by hARTzteacher on 2021/04/23 10:53
I have ADHD. I’m also a teacher. I need lots of lists for various school and home tasks, easy ways to organize thoughts, places to put ideas for future lessons, and I need reminders, with due dates and times. This app seems to take a while to load. My adhd brain doesn’t have the patience or the focus to wait long when I have an idea. By the time it opens, I’ve often forgot what I was going to input! I’m not a fan of the layout and organization of the notes. I don’t find it easy to find the one I need quickly. I thought I’d like the quick scratch pad but then those notes get lost easy unless I delete the automated title and rename it. Then I have to click through menus in order to move it to the correct list because it automatically chooses for you. It’s an ok app but not meant for someone with quick ideas and many different lists to organize. The act of writing the notes in the correct spot is too cumbersome for someone busy and needing to work quickly and efficiently.
Essential tool for my small business and life
by Ben Forest on 2019/05/10 19:22
Been using Evernote for five years plus now. Subscribe to the premium edition for the encryption and privacy protections. Use it to keep detailed information about clients. As well as my own life/hobbies. Photos. Audio. But mostly written records that are usually dictate. Powerful search abilities even if I don’t bother with tagging etc. I have always found it when I am needed. Use it on multi platform. Desktop computer, iPhone, iPad and it even logged in remotely via the web. Do you like Evernote apps for the platforms; add speed and I’m able to store key files locally (do not need Internet access). Have needed their tech-support a couple of times. Resolve the issue quickly. If I had it suggested to improve, I’d like to see better Apple Pen support have an apple pen capabilities in the iPad app. My guess is; they are probably working on that
Used to love it but after most recent update HATE IT
by Dee Anders on 2020/09/24 20:01
I am veterinary resident. I have read a lot of journal articles, all of which come in the form a pdf. I am paying the annual subscription fee specifically for the pdf reading and annotation features. Evernote used to pretty good at this. I could upload the pdf into a note. If I opened the pdf, I could read, zoom, navigate and select and copy text. Now when I open the pdf, I can only zoom. With the old Evernote annotation function, I could zoom and navigate easily, then use the highlight function to highlight important text. Now in the annotation function I can not zoom making it harder to read and nearly impossible to highlight text. Additionally, in the old version a little summary of annotations and highlighted text would be generate, so the next time I opened that pdf I have a lovely little summary of the stuff that was important to me. None of this is available in the most recent update and I hate it. I gave feedback to the Evernote team during beta testing and recently after the new release, but they clearly aren’t listening.

What kind of an app is this….? Nothing works. Nothing happens when I click on any of the buttons. Had to delete it. Unbelievable

Task feature has serious bug

BYEEEE!!

App Is Dead

Forcing you into paid plan
by hahfjskBdfnakakz on 2021/10/17 14:52
I used to love Evernote and use it for work steadily, but their updates continue to restrict features in order to force users to buy their paid monthly subscription. Pop ups continuously interrupt work trying to get me to buy the plan causing the app to glitch and for me to lose work. Ungraded my phone and now it won’t let me login without buying the plan. It’s a huge disappointment

I'm done.

I guess it’s time to say goodbye

by Assaultan on 2021/10/06 08:41
I have been using this app for the better part of a year now.

Come on, Evernote!!

by Commuter/Mt biker on 2021/10/03 09:49
I have used Evernote for many years.

Please change this IMMEDIATELY.

by ~OO7 on 2021/09/28 23:13
While I love Evernote, I hate that my account has or can be compromised & hacked, several times now. I keep valuable info I don’t want released.. I do not want to keep changing my passwords. The Marketing affect of removing devices if we don’t upgrade sucks… especially when you get hacked & someone use all your turns.

Was Great
