I’ve used Motif multiple times to order books for my friends and family; I love the quality of the final products! This is the company that Apple used to partner with for their photo book offerings, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. The app is somewhat intuitive to use, and overall I was happy with the overall process. I will definitely be using them again for future projects!
For the developer: there are a few tweaks that could have also improved the experience, and turned the design process from “very functional but somewhat frustrating” to “amazing”!
-The app doesn’t “see” new favorited photos or albums on my ipad if I’m in the middle of a design session. For example, if I import some “favorited” photos to add to a page, and then in the middle of designing a page decide to “favorite” a new photo and add it to the app (since it’s easier to locate that way than sift through thousands of photos), it doesn’t see the photo, only a cached view of what was previously favorited. I have to restart the app in order to see that newly favorited photo. A “refresh” button or something could dramatically improve usability
-I have to constantly click back on “View Unplaced Images” every time I change between organizing the page layout and placing images. This becomes very arduous when I’m rapidly trying to play around with formatting, and ultimately have to re-select the option dozens or hundreds of times
-There’s no way to “remove” a picture when it’s on a page! I have to either replace it with another photo, or change the # of photos on the page so “push” it out. This makes designing the page flows sooo much harder
-Sometimes, individual pictures in my carousel get stuck on the “Remove this image” option and I have to finagle with other images to un-stick it
-I wish there were more layout options with a small text box; for example, there’s no way to show 3 medium sized photos with a narrow text box. Instead, the text box takes up half of the page, and the photos are tiny. I just want to label certain pages and don’t need the space to write multiple paragraphs. I would be fine with a text box taking up 10% of the space and the other pictures taking up a lot more

I used to use this company when they were Apple branded. When Apple decided to no longer offer print products I found this company through a review. I didn’t realize this was the same company Apple used. I have since ordered several books from them and they are exactly the same high level of quality when they were with Apple. Thanks Motif! So far I’ve made several photo books from this App.
The product quality is really good the binding on the hardcover books are supreme.
This latest version doesn’t allow you to remove an image from a page by tap and hold (iOS) Also, it seems like the photo editing options are now limited to applying filters and rising and moving the image around. What happened to these features?

They do not ship to Iceland? Whats up with that? The checkout process closed and I had to redoo it since my iphone locked during checkout process. Other than that it worked pretty good. If you add photos afterwards it would be convenient if the option to rearrange images in time order would be available

I have been using Motif on my MacBook for a few years now to make calendars and greeting cards and love it!
I may even like the app on my iPad even better! So easy to use and the app like the program for the desktop warns you if your photos are low-res so you won’t get a finished job back that looks bad.
After my great-granddaughter was born I decided to do a photo book of her first year for family members. I used Motif on my MacBook and it turned out beautifully. What wonderful memory for everyone to have!

Not a great experience building the book. I made a 100 page book and it seemed like there were many redundant steps to fill a page. Much easier done on a laptop on iPhoto with Motif extension.
Making a book

I have struggled with other apps/stores, etc. and then my son recommended Motif. It took my album of photos for this project and laid it out better than I could have. I like the less stressful road. The only thing I couldn’t do was rotate two of the photos. Otherwise, I will certainly use again! Thanks for making it so easy!

I was used the building books on Apple, and there is not a good tutorial to show you how to get the same features on this app. However, once I played with it a lot, I was able to build a decent book. The app loads all your photos into page formats, and I had to undo most of that to do what I wanted. Kind of a pain. And moving things around (photos, pages) is not easy.

I was determined to put my many travel photos into travel books. Tried two very popular formats and quickly got stuck. Someone mentioned Apple s photo book, and knowing how helpful Apple always is with their products, I decided to give it a try. I found it to be very user friendly. Any questions I had could be quickly solved by going back and reviewing the introductory video. I completed and sent off a book with photos of recent travel and when it arrived I was thrilled! So very pleased! Have now sent off my second book.

I completed my book. It was quite easy. I spent more time trying to order the book. The app would not let me sign up, sign in. They didn’t respond for help. Very disappointed. Now I can’t seem to post a review as they want a nickname

Why can’t I sign up from the sign in page? Maybe I’m brain challenged but I can’t figure out how to get back to where I first open the app and I’m asked for my name and email. I also was unable to put in my email there. The app should be more intuitive.

I ordered my album # 4 because I really enjoyed go back and forth with my memories. I was looking for something that relax me during this difficult situation of the Covid-19 and also trying to do something nice for my Mom to give her in Mother’s Day! I really had a blast, good time and appreciate every moment spent with her and my baby girl !

I just completed my second Motif hardcover book. I found it very easy to use after watching the brief tutorial. The paper quality is great and the ability to edit photos right from my Mac is a big plus. It’s very easy to move photos in and out of the pages. I also like using the suggested arrangements of the photos I select. I will be starting another project soon!

I have made many photo books over the years and had used Apple Books until they stopped supporting that platform. Most of the Apps I looked at to use as a replacement limited the number of pages to under 50 and I didn’t like the way they made most of the decisions about placement of photos for you. I also am pretty fussy about how the photos look in the book. I don’t want to send in a clear crisp photo and then have a fuzzy one in the book! I tried making a book using this App on my computer and was very pleased with the results so when the App came out for my phone and iPad, I jumped! At first it took a bit to discover how to do all the things I wanted to with the App, like swapping photos that were placed automatically with ones I preferred in certain spots but it all came together and I am pleased with the results. I could even place photos and write commentary as the vacations unfold if I wanted to because this App is so portable! I really love it. Thanks for the App and I can’t wait to use it for making a calendar!

I began to use Motif after apple got rid of their book/calendar features for iPhoto. I have to say, motif has been easy to use and I’m quite impressed with the way my calendars have been turning out. The quality is great and the app is continually updated to add new features and optimize old ones.

I had done a dozen photo books on Apple when it discontinued printing books. I then tried Motif and have now done 6 books. It took a bit to adjust to a new system, but totally worth it. The print quality is first-rate...definitely as good as Apple’s. Highly recommend.

I had a few concerns with an earlier project. They contacted me, asked for input and pictures of what concerned me and offered a free redo. On the next effort all of my concerns had been addressed with some design changes and the book arrived exactly as I had hoped. We are delighted with their product, their responsiveness, and customer service. Five stars from us.

I was very disappointed that Apple discontinued their photo books in iPhoto. I had made many books to document our vacations. Then I discovered this app for the phone. I upgraded to the iPhone 11, which takes amazing pictures. Then I used this app to create a book of my most recent vacation, doing the entire project on my phone. The results were terrific. The printed book looks and feels as good as the old Apple Books. It was very easy to create the book on the app. I was very happy with the outcome. As a side note, I was thinking of upgrading my DSLR camera this holiday. Now, I cannot justify that purchase, when it is so easy to take great pictures and make a beautiful book, all from my phone

One book had a small tear in the cover jacket and the very last page wasn’t bound all the way. I had ordered 2 books but only one was damaged. They printed and mailed me 2 more books at no charge! Awesome. Memories for a lifetime! Thanks!

Not a great experience building the book. I made a 100 page book and it seemed like there were many redundant steps to fill a page. Much easier done on a laptop on iPhoto with Motif extension.

Why can’t I sign up from the sign in page? Maybe I’m brain challenged but I can’t figure out how to get back to where I first open the app and I’m asked for my name and email. I also was unable to put in my email there. The app should be more intuitive.

Numerous arbitrary decisions about image orientation, availability for inclusion and date masking - entirely un-fixable within app. Very frustrating

I’ve used Motif multiple times to order books for my friends and family; I love the quality of the final products! This is the company that Apple used to partner with for their photo book offerings, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. The app is somewhat intuitive to use, and overall I was happy with the overall process. I will definitely be using them again for future projects!
For the developer: there are a few tweaks that could have also improved the experience, and turned the design process from “very functional but somewhat frustrating” to “amazing”!
-The app doesn’t “see” new favorited photos or albums on my ipad if I’m in the middle of a design session. For example, if I import some “favorited” photos to add to a page, and then in the middle of designing a page decide to “favorite” a new photo and add it to the app (since it’s easier to locate that way than sift through thousands of photos), it doesn’t see the photo, only a cached view of what was previously favorited. I have to restart the app in order to see that newly favorited photo. A “refresh” button or something could dramatically improve usability
-I have to constantly click back on “View Unplaced Images” every time I change between organizing the page layout and placing images. This becomes very arduous when I’m rapidly trying to play around with formatting, and ultimately have to re-select the option dozens or hundreds of times
-There’s no way to “remove” a picture when it’s on a page! I have to either replace it with another photo, or change the # of photos on the page so “push” it out. This makes designing the page flows sooo much harder
-Sometimes, individual pictures in my carousel get stuck on the “Remove this image” option and I have to finagle with other images to un-stick it
-I wish there were more layout options with a small text box; for example, there’s no way to show 3 medium sized photos with a narrow text box. Instead, the text box takes up half of the page, and the photos are tiny. I just want to label certain pages and don’t need the space to write multiple paragraphs. I would be fine with a text box taking up 10% of the space and the other pictures taking up a lot more

I used to use this company when they were Apple branded. When Apple decided to no longer offer print products I found this company through a review. I didn’t realize this was the same company Apple used. I have since ordered several books from them and they are exactly the same high level of quality when they were with Apple. Thanks Motif! So far I’ve made several photo books from this App.
The product quality is really good the binding on the hardcover books are supreme.
This latest version doesn’t allow you to remove an image from a page by tap and hold (iOS) Also, it seems like the photo editing options are now limited to applying filters and rising and moving the image around. What happened to these features?

They do not ship to Iceland? Whats up with that? The checkout process closed and I had to redoo it since my iphone locked during checkout process. Other than that it worked pretty good. If you add photos afterwards it would be convenient if the option to rearrange images in time order would be available

I have been using Motif on my MacBook for a few years now to make calendars and greeting cards and love it!
I may even like the app on my iPad even better! So easy to use and the app like the program for the desktop warns you if your photos are low-res so you won’t get a finished job back that looks bad.
After my great-granddaughter was born I decided to do a photo book of her first year for family members. I used Motif on my MacBook and it turned out beautifully. What wonderful memory for everyone to have!

Making a book

I have struggled with other apps/stores, etc. and then my son recommended Motif. It took my album of photos for this project and laid it out better than I could have. I like the less stressful road. The only thing I couldn’t do was rotate two of the photos. Otherwise, I will certainly use again! Thanks for making it so easy!

I was used the building books on Apple, and there is not a good tutorial to show you how to get the same features on this app. However, once I played with it a lot, I was able to build a decent book. The app loads all your photos into page formats, and I had to undo most of that to do what I wanted. Kind of a pain. And moving things around (photos, pages) is not easy.

I was determined to put my many travel photos into travel books. Tried two very popular formats and quickly got stuck. Someone mentioned Apple s photo book, and knowing how helpful Apple always is with their products, I decided to give it a try. I found it to be very user friendly. Any questions I had could be quickly solved by going back and reviewing the introductory video. I completed and sent off a book with photos of recent travel and when it arrived I was thrilled! So very pleased! Have now sent off my second book.

I ordered my album # 4 because I really enjoyed go back and forth with my memories. I was looking for something that relax me during this difficult situation of the Covid-19 and also trying to do something nice for my Mom to give her in Mother’s Day! I just completed my second Motif hardcover book. I found it very easy to use after watching the brief tutorial. The paper quality is great and the ability to edit photos right from my Mac is a big plus. It’s very easy to move photos in and out of the pages. I also like using the suggested arrangements of the photos I select. I will be starting another project soon!

I have made many photo books over the years and had used Apple Books until they stopped supporting that platform. Most of the Apps I looked at to use as a replacement limited the number of pages to under 50 and I didn’t like the way they made most of the decisions about placement of photos for you. I also am pretty fussy about how the photos look in the book. I don’t want to send in a clear crisp photo and then have a fuzzy one in the book! I tried making a book using this App on my computer and was very pleased with the results so when the App came out for my phone and iPad, I jumped! At first it took a bit to discover how to do all the things I wanted to with the App, like swapping photos that were placed automatically with ones I preferred in certain spots but it all came together and I am pleased with the results. I could even place photos and write commentary as the vacations unfold if I wanted to because this App is so portable! I really love it. Thanks for the App and I can’t wait to use it for making a calendar!

I began to use Motif after apple got rid of their book/calendar features for iPhoto. I have to say, motif has been easy to use and I’m quite impressed with the way my calendars have been turning out. The quality is great and the app is continually updated to add new features and optimize old ones.

I had done a dozen photo books on Apple when it discontinued printing books. I then tried Motif and have now done 6 books. It took a bit to adjust to a new system, but totally worth it. The print quality is first-rate...definitely as good as Apple’s. Highly recommend.

I had a few concerns with an earlier project. They contacted me, asked for input and pictures of what concerned me and offered a free redo. On the next effort all of my concerns had been addressed with some design changes and the book arrived exactly as I had hoped. We are delighted with their product, their responsiveness, and customer service. Five stars from us.

I was very disappointed that Apple discontinued their photo books in iPhoto. I had made many books to document our vacations. Then I discovered this app for the phone. I upgraded to the iPhone 11, which takes amazing pictures. Then I used this app to create a book of my most recent vacation, doing the entire project on my phone. The results were terrific. The printed book looks and feels as good as the old Apple Books. It was very easy to create the book on the app. I was very happy with the outcome. As a side note, I was thinking of upgrading my DSLR camera this holiday. Now, I cannot justify that purchase, when it is so easy to take great pictures and make a beautiful book, all from my phone

Two projects completed so far (ITALY Vacation and National Parks)—both are over-the-top... wonderful. I’ve now used Motif for two projects. The first was a hardcover album that turned out excellent, the quality was top notch. I thought I would try the large calendar for gifts to family. Again the quality was excellent. I’m now working on two additional photo books.

First time user of Motif. Loved how I could do it all from my iPad! Loved the finished product! Awesome customer service! One book had a small tear in the cover jacket and the very last page wasn’t bound all the way. I had ordered 2 books but only one was damaged. They printed and mailed me 2 more books at no charge! Awesome. Memories for a lifetime! Thanks!

If you missed Apple photo pint service this is the next best apps to it as of now. The only thing lacking is large individual prints for customers who wants them. As a result, 4 stars.

I have made many photo books over the years and had used Apple Books until they stopped supporting that platform. Most of the Apps I looked at to use as a replacement limited the number of pages to under 50 and I didn’t like the way they made most of the decisions about placement of photos for you. I also am pretty fussy about how the photos look in the book. I don’t want to send in a clear crisp photo and then have a fuzzy one in the book! I tried making a book using this App on my computer and was very pleased with the results so when the App came out for my phone and iPad, I jumped! At first it took a bit to discover how to do all the things I wanted to with the App, like swapping photos that were placed automatically with ones I preferred in certain spots but it all came together and I am pleased with the results. I could even place photos and write commentary as the vacations unfold if I wanted to because this App is so portable! I really love it. Thanks for the App and I can’t wait to use it for making a calendar!

I was very disappointed that Apple discontinued their photo books in iPhoto. I had made many books to document our vacations. Then I discovered this app for the phone. I upgraded to the iPhone 11, which takes amazing pictures. Then I used this app to create a book of my most recent vacation, doing the entire project on my phone. The results were terrific. The printed book looks and feels as good as the old Apple Books. It was very easy to create the book on the app. I was very happy with the outcome. As a side note, I was thinking of upgrading my DSLR camera this holiday. Now, I cannot justify that purchase, when it is so easy to take great pictures and make a beautiful book, all from my phone

I was determined to put my many travel photos into travel books. Tried two very popular formats and quickly got stuck. Someone mentioned Apple s photo book, and knowing how helpful Apple always is with their products, I decided to give it a try. I found it to be very user friendly. Any questions I had could be quickly solved by going back and reviewing the introductory video. I completed and sent off a book with photos of recent travel and when it arrived I was thrilled! So very pleased! Have now sent off my second book.

I have been using Motif on my MacBook for a few years now to make calendars and greeting cards and love it!
I may even like the app on my iPad even better! So easy to use and the app like the program for the desktop warns you if your photos are low-res so you won’t get a finished job back that looks bad.
After my great-granddaughter was born I decided to do a photo book of her first year for family members. I used Motif on my MacBook and it turned out beautifully. What wonderful memory for everyone to have!

I used to use this company when they were Apple branded. When Apple decided to no longer offer print products I found this company through a review. I didn’t realize this was the same company Apple used. I have since ordered several books from them and they are exactly the same high level of quality when they were with Apple. Thanks Motif! I was used the building books on Apple, and there is not a good tutorial to show you how to get the same features on this app. However, once I played with it a lot, I was able to build a decent book. The app loads all your photos into page formats, and I had to undo most of that to do what I wanted. Kind of a pain. And moving things around (photos, pages) is not easy.

I just completed my second Motif hardcover book. I found it very easy to use after watching the brief tutorial. The paper quality is great and the ability to edit photos right from my Mac is a big plus. It’s very easy to move photos in and out of the pages. I also like using the suggested arrangements of the photos I select. I will be starting another project soon!

Saddened when Apple stopped doing photo books. Extremely excited and happy now that Motif is in the business. Two projects completed so far (ITALY Vacation and National Parks)—both are over-the-top... wonderful. From customer service to product quality, Motif helped me capture those special moments; mountaintops, wildlife treasures, dear friends, Italian treasures...that will last a lifetime. Already working on my next project👍

So far I’ve made several photo books from this App.
The product quality is really good the binding on the hardcover books are supreme.
This latest version doesn’t allow you to remove an image from a page by tap and hold (iOS) Also, it seems like the photo editing options are now limited to applying filters and rising and moving the image around. What happened to these features?

I have struggled with other apps/stores, etc. and then my son recommended Motif. It took my album of photos for this project and laid it out better than I could have. I like the less stressful road. The only thing I couldn’t do was rotate two of the photos. Otherwise, I will certainly use again! Thanks for making it so easy!

I had a few concerns with an earlier project. They contacted me, asked for input and pictures of what concerned me and offered a free redo. On the next effort all of my concerns had been addressed with some design changes and the book arrived exactly as I had hoped. We are delighted with their product, their responsiveness, and customer service. Five stars from us.

I ordered my album # 4 because I really enjoyed go back and forth with my memories. I was looking for something that relax me during this difficult situation of the Covid-19 and also trying to do something nice for my Mom to give her in Mother’s Day! I really had a blast, good time and appreciate every moment spent with her and my baby girl !

I had done a dozen photo books on Apple when it discontinued printing books. I then tried Motif and have now done 6 books. It took a bit to adjust to a new system, but totally worth it. The print quality is first-rate...definitely as good as Apple’s. Highly recommend.

I began to use Motif after apple got rid of their book/calendar features for iPhoto. I have to say, motif has been easy to use and I’m quite impressed with the way my calendars have been turning out. The quality is great and the app is continually updated to add new features and optimize old ones.

They do not ship to Iceland? Whats up with that? The checkout process closed and I had to redoo it since my iphone locked during checkout process. Other than that it worked pretty good. If you add photos afterwards it would be convenient if the option to rearrange images in time order would be available

Not a great experience building the book. I made a 100 page book and it seemed like there were many redundant steps to fill a page. Much easier done on a laptop on iPhoto with Motif extension.

Why can’t I sign up from the sign in page? Maybe I’m brain challenged but I can’t figure out how to get back to where I first open the app and I’m asked for my name and email. I also was unable to put in my email there. The app should be more intuitive.

I completed my book. It was quite easy. I spent more time trying to order the book. The app would not let me sign up, sign in. They didn’t respond for help. Very disappointed. Now I can’t seem to post a review as they want a nickname

I’ve used Motif multiple times to order books for my friends and family; I love the quality of the final products! This is the company that Apple used to partner with for their photo book offerings, and I’ve been a loyal customer ever since. The app is somewhat intuitive to use, and overall I was happy with the overall process. I will definitely be using them again for future projects!
For the developer: there are a few tweaks that could have also improved the experience, and turned the design process from “very functional but somewhat frustrating” to “amazing”!
-The app doesn’t “see” new favorited photos or albums on my ipad if I’m in the middle of a design session. For example, if I import some “favorited” photos to add to a page, and then in the middle of designing a page decide to “favorite” a new photo and add it to the app (since it’s easier to locate that way than sift through thousands of photos), it doesn’t see the photo, only a cached view of what was previously favorited. I have to restart the app in order to see that newly favorited photo. A “refresh” button or something could dramatically improve usability
-I have to constantly click back on “View Unplaced Images” every time I change between organizing the page layout and placing images. This becomes very arduous when I’m rapidly trying to play around with formatting, and ultimately have to re-select the option dozens or hundreds of times
-There’s no way to “remove” a picture when it’s on a page! I have to either replace it with another photo, or change the # of photos on the page so “push” it out. This makes designing the page flows sooo much harder
-Sometimes, individual pictures in my carousel get stuck on the “Remove this image” option and I have to finagle with other images to un-stick it
-I wish there were more layout options with a small text box; for example, there’s no way to show 3 medium sized photos with a narrow text box. Instead, the text box takes up half of the page, and the photos are tiny. I just want to label certain pages and don’t need the space to write multiple paragraphs. I would be fine with a text box taking up 10% of the space and the other pictures taking up a lot more
