Unable to play
by thumper228 on 2019/12/12 08:17
I can’t even play the game. The first thing the game makes you do is put in your age and the buttons for it doesn’t even work. I can’t put in my age or skip that step so the game is literally unplayable
Beautiful Game
by tragedyx0 on 2019/12/12 07:13
I’m sick of scouting the same sync pairs over and over, despite having scouted over a hundred times. I have not received a featured sync pair since the very first I received shortly after downloading on the app’s release day. There’s nothing new and exciting about leveling the same sync pairs to their max potential and only battling to receive gems to scout the same sync pairs a million times. WHAT IS THE POINT????
New masters?
by Waste seedy on 2019/12/12 05:04
It’s been a few weeks and we haven’t really gotten anyone new... The impression this gave first have me was very similar to the Smash Brothers “Everyone Is Here” but at this point I’m not really getting that feel... Lucas? Dawn? Or what about Gold and Silver male trainer? Nate??? I would just like to see some new trainers AS WELL as an easier way to get gems. The only way you can really get a bunch is by logging in during events and getting the 300 which really isn’t enough...
Just end the game

Running out of contents
by 暗地里 on 2019/12/11 17:10
Need improvement with the AI of NPC and auto combat. Also this new legendary event, in order to get all limited exchange items, we need to collect at least 13100 normal voucher and 5050 super voucher within 14 days, which is about 936 normal voucher per day and 361 super voucher per day. Assuming we are lucky and get average 25 normal and 10 super from every super hard coop, and each run is successful and finish within 4 minutes, it still need to take 2.5 hours everyday for 14 days to grind all the vouchers. Come on, are the developers running out of ideas or they just think the players are either bunch of lifeless people or fools who enjoy grinding?

Awesome but...
by Jerry198405 on 2019/12/10 22:58
This game is awesome but I think that the story is way too quick. I mean, when it said I entered the PML, I thought, already?! It was way too quick I thought. It’s fine you can keep this but can you add more parts of us exploring Pasio after we entered the PML? And 300,000 coins for 1 evolution crystal!? Can you guys at least do something like, 5 evolution shard for an evolution crystal? I also want you to continue the main story. I’m already finished with it but I really want to know what’s going to happen next, so please hurry! Can we also get more diamonds? I know you guys did an event so we can get more diamonds but we spent 300 diamonds for a sync pair scout. Can you guys also add more sync pairs? But everything else is great. The trainers are fun to be with and you guys do a great job of making it feel I’m right there, experiencing it. The stories are fun and I like the sync pair stories and co-op battles. I totally think this game is amazing, just needs a few changes.
Add champions
by p0o0o0o on 2019/12/10 22:06
The game is very good, a little confusing at times but overall an outstanding spinoff. One thing in particular I find would be a good asset to the game. Champions I think the game would be a lot more fun if we could battle champions or they could offer advice. For example Steven Stone, the champion of the Hoenn region could help is in a challenge if we are struggling a lot.

There’s only one thing missing...
by Matsuyama Kitty on 2019/12/10 17:04
This game is so incredibly addicting, it’s fun and imaginative, and it’s an overall enjoyable game. I give it major props for every little bit of detail they added, and me being an extreme otaku makes it even better that the audio can be in Japanese hehe. But one thing I’m not satisfied with is that you can’t actually move your character around. Like, you can’t use controls to move your character or anything, and that I think is a major detail that would have added to the game greatly. That part, I’m not gonna lie, disappoints me about the game. But besides that, it’s a joy to play, and I even have my friends hooked so we play together sometimes.
Wish you could change your Pokémon
by Denwal66 on 2019/12/10 16:24
I eventually deleted this game after realizing there’s no way to change your Pikachu to a different Pokémon. I mean, Pikachu is AMAZING and all, but, what if someone wants a different Pokémon? Everyone has their own favorites, and what if their top favorite ISN’T Pikachu? My favorite Pokémon of all time is Zorua and I cannot have her. It’s unfair for everyone, really. I searched everywhere on Google to try and find a way to swap your Pokémon, but found nothing. I will replay when a “Change your Pokémon to any Pokémon you want” feature is added.

I love this app and I’ve never played Pokémon before. I always heard ppl talking about it, and saw poke cards but never played. I have gotten to the 4th chapter and Ik it’s not far. I have short hair and I’m a girl and I’m a little disappointed in how u can only have one hairstyle on ur character. I would love if y’all could add a little more designing that we could chose from for our character. Thank You. I hope I am not the only one who feels this way. Hope to hear back!

Fun Poke-App!
by AceBasil on 2019/12/09 06:29
I was a bit skeptical upon the initial download but found this mobile game to be very entertaining, vibrant and rich in story for many of the characters of the Pokémon lore. I would definitely recommend this app to any Pokémon enthusiast. You won’t catch them all but you’ll certainly have fun running through the adventure and the combat is great too. Happy hunting!
Major Bug Issue That’s Impeding Progress!
by Duxdog63 on 2019/12/08 20:51
I thought that Sync Pairs that are obtainable in the main story are supposed to have their Sync Moves at Max Level 5/5 instead of starting at 1/5 like ones you obtain from scouting on top of other issues this one that is affecting all of the Sync Pairs that I have gotten this way and it’s making it hard to progress right now towards anything when I’m trying to get done also the rewards you can get from the regular and super courses of the training are still ineffective in terms of progressing towards increasing the level caps of Sync Pairs among other issues with this game! Also if you’re looking to promote this franchise certain Sync Pairs that should be able to evolve should similarly other issues plague this game making things entirely annoying the super courses rewards need to be higher in terms of materials if you want to make any progress!
It’s good but
by Swiddles on 2019/12/08 20:42

Great game but after update today, it won’t stop crashing
by Harper0501 on 2019/12/08 09:08
So I am very new to this game so I’m not very far in the game, and I downloaded it a week ago and today I decided to go back on it. As soon as I get on it, it says that I need to update it so I did, and then when I loaded up a story mission and I got to a battle, as soon as I tried attacking my game crashed so I loaded the game up again and resumed my progress from the mission. I then tried attacking again and once again the game crashed, I went through that same cycle around 5 times and after the 5th time I decided to write this review so this could be seen and fixed because I really want to progress in this game as it is very enjoyable, it’s just not in a playable state for me personally with the way that it is currently.
Great game but.

Great game!
by Kiara311R on 2019/12/07 00:41
I recently downloaded this game, and to say the least, it’s very addictive. To the amazing, colorful graphics and to the wonderful and fun gameplay, this game is awesome! I love almost every aspect of it and I would definitely recommend it! Although, if I could recommend some things, they would be more options for character customization. As far as I know, YOUR personal character can only have pikachu and torchic at some point in the game, so that kind of makes our own character pointless if they aren't in a electric based fight or fire.(Which is the reason for our scouts, but I really enjoy having ‘myself’ in the game :[ )I think it would be nice if we could choose our Pokémon in the beginning? I know there were probably reasons pikachu was chosen as the automatic pokémon we are handled, but I feel it would be more personal and interesting to choose our own... Also, more physical customization? As in hairstyles and clothing? I would really love that. One of my favorite parts of video games is making my character my own and customizing them to my extents. BUT IGNORING MY RECOMMENDATIONS THE GAME IS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND I LOVE IT VERY MUCH!

by PldnBlues on 2019/12/06 08:04
The events aren't fun or engaging. It's just the same battles over and over. You also have to rely on randoms in co-op a lot and that's always a terrible experience since there's no effective way to communicate with them. Team variety is virtually non-existent, so you're forced to use very specific characters to clear content. I really hope the game gets better soon.

Suggestions
by Waleb333 on 2019/12/05 08:08
I love Pokémon and I love this app! I just have a couple suggestions to continue this game’s greatness. I strongly believe PVP should be added, 1v1 and 3v3 modes. I believe special/event login bonuses should continue and events should also continue, at least one at a time but two would be great! Also, adding more sync pairs would be really good and more available sync pair evolutions would be really nice. I would really like to see a history of when missions were completed and a battle log. Also, a BIG thing is to create more of the story!!! Please don’t rush to finish it, but rather extend it! Continue to the end of the PML, and also continue the story AFTER the PML too!!! Thank you so much to the creators of this game, and I hope you all continue to make Pokémon’s legacy amazing!!! Btw, I haven’t spent a single penny on this game, and I still love it so much!

by Pooppoppop on 2019/12/04 13:00
Great game, and I love it dearly. But, the evolution crystals cost wwwwwaaaaaaayyyyyy too much. Like really? 300,000 coins for ONE? That’s 900,000 to evolve ONE Sync Pair! Fix this, please. It’s only 10,000 coins for the first evolution, so why the big jump? I’ll be fine if you either reduce the price or up the amount you get for it. Thanks!

Good game but I would like more features
by jennifer22009983 on 2019/12/04 04:43
I’ve always loved Pokémon and this game is the perfect cheap and convenient way to play it, however I would like more features. For starters I’m ADDICTED to the game, well I was, until the story ended on a cliff hanger, however I’m hoping they will update the game soon so that we get more levels. I would also like to see the option to catch Pokémon of your choice instead of using sink pair scout and getting sinc pairs throughout the game. But overall I love the game which is why it gets 5 stars
Great game will be by me at all times
by Pancake the cat on 2019/12/04 00:24
The game is great but the main story needs new chapters and there needs to be more supercorses because when I get out of school I only do 2 corses because the time limit is to long but the game is still great. Also make the co-op easier because it’s to hard to get level cap and grind but you don’t need to rush because I just want it to be easier that’s all.Sorry I type a lot for a 8 year old.

I LOVE IT
by khaosxchameleon on 2019/12/03 04:52
I was honestly skeptical at first because I don’t like mobile games and was worried it may just be another throw away pokemon app. But this game is really fun! Not only do I enjoy the battling and story, but the fact that the developers fix bugs so quickly is insane. It’s also incredibly easy to level up and gain new items. So many are given for ridiculously simple tasks, sometimes for nothing! If you’re unsure about it, and just need on review to convince you, I would 100% recommend atleast trying it.

Good game but missing something.... (CASH GRAB?)
by MasonMik81 on 2019/12/02 20:45
The game is fun and collecting trainers with their Pokémon is also exciting and new. To make it simple there are three types of Pokémon. Striker, support, and tech and each Pokémon has there class with various types of moves you can unlock. There are dailies that have specific times that reset, doing this give the most items to make your Pokémon stronger. The issue is once you finish the main story, (which isn’t even complete yet as of 12-04-19) it’s hard to get in game currency, which they call gems. GEMS YOU SAY?! Yes micro transactions are in this game, and will kill it over time. It costs 300 gems just to open a Pokémon ball, and you have the smallest percent of obtaining the one you want. Not to mention you can get duplicates so yea.... good luck. Play the campaign and move on. This game will kill itself soon enough. Pros: The combat style, the variety with Pokémon classes and trainers, story line, difficulty at end game and the grind is repetitive, but fun to see your Pokémon grow in levels and power. Cons: Evolutions, like what the heck!? Some can evolve and others can’t? Also why is it so expensive to buy shards to evolve them? The shards come only once a month and cost a lot so you always need to be grinding the currency when it shows up during the dailies. Next, THE end game. Once you get the option to put gear on for better stats, the game is impossible and you need level 100 Pokémon on your squad of three. The grind is for real and the reward is minimal. Another terrible feature is that this end game stuff is coop only..... Not everyone knows how to play this game at a high skill level. Lastly, where are the original Pokémon? Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Charmander? These three are iconic and need to be in this game!!!! Fix these cons, and how people can obtain Pokémon they don’t have and you might have the best app to date. Otherwise your just another sell out looking for a cash grab.
Good not great

by HammerHamil88 on 2019/11/30 01:28
Can we have more than 7 Pokémon evolve please?!? The game is great I wish that more content was pushed out faster. It would be nice if we got different type training events instead of the same ones over and over. I seriously need 900k coins to evolve (1) Pokemon?! It took 3 weeks to save 300k for only (1) evolution crystal.

I’ve been scouring the App Store for so long now. I can’t get a game boy right now but from I’ve seen of it the pokemon games on there are amazing. But this? Alright so good animation and graphics and the battles aren’t half bad but why do we have to have pikachu in literally very pokemon game that’s not in ROBLOX? Why not just a starter time? I still find myself looking for a non-ROBLOX pokemon game that the following: 1. Your own character you can walk around a map and actually travel 2. No side characters following you or characters from the anime 3. A poke center in your home town you go to in the beginning to get a starter type pokemon If I ever find anything even close to what the gameboy has on the App Store I will be so happy but until at least 1 and 3 are in place I will just have to keep looking.

Good amount of depth, needs some work
by Definitely_not_Nick on 2019/11/29 09:52
I’ll start off with the good. 1. The combat system is actually really fun, real time battles are so much fun, especially when you crank up the speed. And when you put some effort into finding a cool team, it’s so easy to get into it. 2. I love seeing all the old gen I and II trainers from my childhood, being greeted by Brock, Misty, crasher wake, lt. Surge, it’s awesome and really connects me back to when I played yellow version in elementary school and the anime. 3. I also love the Japanese voices. 4. Some of the fights are actually kind of challenging, it took me several tries to get past Iris, and it felt good to know that victory wasn’t guaranteed. However, there are a few things that are really annoying. 1. There’s not a lot of freedom or expression. When you log in for the first time, you choose you name, gender, hair and eye color, and that’s it. You don’t get to choose your Pokémon and you don’t get to choose your look. And when you get a “sync pair” you get whatever pair come out of the lotto and that’s it, you can’t teach that Pokémon new moves, give it a nickname, berries, gear takes until chapter 18 (still not there) and sometimes I like a trainer and not the Pokémon, or the other way around. It would be awesome to be able to mix and match the Pokémon and trainers (type dependent of course) 2. The paid portion makes no sense at all. It costs about $3.00 a sync pair and it’s completely random. There’s very little chance that you’ll get the trainer you want even with a ten summon (which costs $30.00) so the chances of you getting the trainer you want from a single summon, forget about it. Especially when you get like two free summons every day anyways, it makes no sense to spend a dime on this game. Which is a real shame because I’d love to support a game which obviously has a bunch of time and effort put into it. If it was me, I would put all the trainers, Pokémon, TMs, berries, gear, maybe emotes, and clothes for the trainers into a lotto and drop the price to like 50 cents a ticket, and you could probably squeeze 20-30 bucks out of me, probably more than 50 long term. But as of right now, there’s no chance I’m gonna spend another penny. 3. The story feels a little rinse and repeat sometimes, a bit like a chore really. I saw the gear button on the Pokédex and kept waiting for an option to change the color of my hat or something, so I kept playing, and playing, and playing. Until I looked it up, and realized that it takes until chapter 18 of co-op to unlock it, and it’s really just a stat booster item. So I was going through this story mode hoping to unlock some more content or get a really engaging story with difficult challenges or something, and I just didn’t. I beat Iris by using unlocking the level caps and using the training event to just overpower her. And although it was really really fun trying to find a team and trying new strategies to beat her, it felt really cheap in the end to know that all you have to do is just open the level cap on a pair, train em up, and steam roll your opponents with pretty much no skill required. So it’s a mixed bag for me with the story. I don’t like that you get the bulk of your XP from items or events. And I don’t like that even when you fight someone way above your skill level, you don’t get that much xp. So far, I’m enjoying Pokémon masters, and it’s actually got me back into Pokémon, but it could be so much better with just a couple tweaks.
UPDATE PLEASE!!! ^^
by Ahansi on 2019/11/29 02:41
I finished the entire main story and is eagerly waiting the next part. It is not a pay to win game! Read that Over again. I’ve gotten so many five star and more without paying anything. It is really worth getting this app. I just need an update so I can become the best Pokémon master in my school. (I sound like Cheren but ok)
Rigged
by Deathwalker32 on 2019/11/29 02:26
Your game is so rigged! I’ve taught Erika five times already and lost because everyone on that team keeps going for my Pokemon that’s strongest against her! You rig this game just to see people get mad, I swear. I love the gameplay but it’s hard to get a badge when the enemy keeps cheating!
Fun, but one thing..
by Oramoska on 2019/11/29 02:02
At some point, the game decided to crash every time o try to enter a battle, and I’m unable to progress in the story. I’m trying to battle Barry for the first time if that helps.

I give the game 2 stars because it started off fun and I liked it. But the people I battle in the game became so over powered so quick and even if I were to get close to winning a battle for reasons that made no sense I lost. I can’t have fun anymore. I like a challenge but when it comes to the point I can’t overcome that challenge it’s stupid.

Best Pokémon Game I’ve Ever Played
by Swagman_28 on 2019/09/14 02:18
This game is so much fun. I’ve been playing Pokémon games on Nintendo handhelds for the past 10 years, along with watching the anime, and this is the closest I’ve seen to the battling style shown throughout the anime. And it works EXCELLENTLY!!! I rarely give out 5-star reviews, but this game is a masterpiece. As a fan of the anime, I’m very glad that a Pokémon game finally reflects the battling style shown in the anime. Everything about this game makes me keep coming back to it. The sound effects in most Pokémon games are not the best, but the sound effects in this rendition are especially great. The music is also very catchy, something every Pokémon game has. This game has everything the normal Pokémon games have, but then adds a special twist. It was (at first) challenging to learn the new mechanics, but I pressed the “auto” button in the top right corner during battles to understand how to use it better. I recommend doing the same, whether you are a newcomer or an experienced Pokémon enthusiast. It makes it so much easier. If there was anything to criticize, I would probably have to say that I wish the fonts were a little bit bigger. Other than that, this game is nothing short of a masterpiece. 5-star game without question.
Great Pokémon game CONCEPT
by elijio7521 on 2019/09/04 15:15
The idea is nice, the battle format is actually good, and the animations and graphics are definitely nothing to laugh at. I’m having a huge bug issue right now where I have about 3,600 gems yet I cannot even buy anything from the in game Market with them and keeps telling me I have no gems to spend and directs me to purchase some. Yeah I’m not buying any gems if I clearly have enough to buy the 10 sync pack. The story feels really short and rushed, and I wish you could battle other people instead of with someone against the cpu otherwise there’s no point in me investing time or money into building a solid team. The characters are loveable and memorable. Honestly the game concept itself is great but it still needs more. I don’t understand why we can’t battle against other people but we can battle with them. There’s no issue connecting with other people already so why not just make some kind of rank system to play in. A lot of games have it and it would be pretty cool to see Pokémon have one. Pokémon is all about battling with your favorite teams so why wouldn’t it have some kind of battle system. Please don’t give us whatever abomination Pokémon Go battling is... if the market was fixed and I could actually use my gems I would not mind spending money for more characters to level up. There’s just no reason to even build a team because aside from the story, there’s no one to use the team against making it a waste.
Amazing!!! Buuuut
by Avonette on 2019/09/06 15:53
Is it just me? Or after a while does the game feel like the same thing and same people over and over? I love love love this app the animation is incredible and all the characters design is definitely my all time favorite! Sometimes I wish it had more to do with me and my Pokémon or maybe went along more with the episodes. After a few chapters it feels like we’re doing the same thing over and over but with harder and harder battles each time. It must be very hard making everything they have in the game but I really do wish you could maybe have a bit more adventure idk maybe go in a different direction then the tv show? Like you know how you can go into different stories sometimes? It would be cool to be able to choose what kind of different side story you want to play. Like maybe the choices of romance or one where there’s someone after you and so on? Idk but it would really be cool to have that kind of side stories with your character or whoever you’d like to be. I love when you do a sync move with your Pokémon! Every persons sync is so cool and different to match their personality and climate they live in! So if you were wanting to get this app but not sure... yes! Get it! I’m barely a fan of Pokémon and it’s still good! It for fans and nonfans! But if side stories or any cool things were updated to this game it would just make it ten time more amazing!!!
Great Start, but needs a couple balances and add-ons
by Kiritatsu on 2019/09/08 06:44
This game is pretty great, but there are a couple things I think should be addressed. In my opinion, it’s a little difficult to get enough currency to roll due to how expensive each roll is and how little rewards are provided in relation to the story line that is available even with the starting login bonus. Additionally, I think a PVP option is necessary as well for this game. Progressing through the story line forces one to focus on a core set of units that work well together in a single player mentality while the coop stages revolve around a different type of playstyle that makes a lot of units invalid or significantly worse. While it is understandable that the focus of this game is to try and facilitate interaction and cooperation with others, this lack of PVP will hurt the game more as time passes. It would fundamentally eliminate the importance of or desire for rolls in this gacha format and basically wastes the grand idea of the “PML” based in the storyline. I believe it’s perfect setup for pvp, and it may very well be in the works, but it is just a little strange that it’s not implemented from the start. Other than that, I do like the battle system, the way Pokémon and trainer moves are integrated, and how these moves and level caps work with the farming material. I look forward to seeing how this game develops in the future!
Don’t rage F2P players
by Duckyduxkysuxltnd on 2019/08/30 11:32
Pokemon will forever be one of those things that always smacks nostalgia right into my face. Now this game itself brings the “feels” of every single Pokémon game in one, I can’t really put my fingers on it but let’s say it gives me the same “feels” of the gameboy Pokémon games and the 3DS Pokémon games which is such a nostalgic bonus! Now I know that since this game has JUST been released, it can seem like you have to grind if you’re a free to play player; making it kind of annoying as you have to finish the entire story to just collect roughly 3000 gems to spend on new trainers+ Pokémon. Now listen, cuz of this problem, I would have given it a 3-4 star but I won’t because I feel it’s something that the developers can work on and it would be a little unfair since they have just released the game, so I have faith that they can still add more ways to enjoy the game to earn more gems even as a free to play player. I do recommend this game! please stay calm if you are a free to play player like me, there’s still a lot more things they can add to the game to make it fair and fun at the same time so just have some faith in the developers and give them time to improve :) Also, just a side note: developers please add pvp! ಥʖ̯ಥ
A pleasant surprise

I was very disillusioned with the mobile videogame market, with all the games out there that are just blatant cash grabs with a massive paywall, especially the pay-to-win multiplayer games where the person with the thickest wallet wins through a myriad of buffs, items, and specials only obtainable through straight hard cash. Then i stumbled onto this hidden masterpiece. I picked it up and was thinking “great, lets see how many minutes it takes before i have to spend money in order to go anywhere” i spent a few minutes on the app. Then later a few more. Then i started spending hours and days and still i was able to progress just fine without busting out a single cent. Soon i realized, Pokémon actually mostly stuck to its old school roots! Gameplay is fun and engaging, all the trainers and Pokémon are obtainable without spending any money, although i probably will spend a few bucks at this point just to show my appreciation to the developers, and for when they release some special event Pokémon. Seeing as this game is still in its early stages im sure pvp and more trainers will be added in the future. In the meantime, go and complete all the great content that’s already here! Awesome game! Good job developers!
An amazing game!
by Eidolon Odin on 2019/09/03 08:04
If you told me 5 years ago that there was gonna be a Pokémon gacha game in the future, I would’ve laughed at you. Yet here we are... First off, every trainer seems to be in the game. EVERY TRAINER. From all generations. Rivals, Gym Leaders, Elite Four even Frontier Brains! The way they made summoning Trainers with their partner Pokémon and evolve them, was likely the best way to go about it. I like the 3 v 3 battles and that Pokémon are weak to one type not multiple like the main games. Keeps the game simple, even with current moves. Love the story too and I REALLY love the fact they put so much depth in each character’s background. I learned more about an unpopular Gym Leader than the anime and games put together. That’s some hard work. If you don’t like gacha games, they at least give you really good/cool F2P units. Whether you play this for your favorite trainer, the story or the sync battles, this is a must for anyone, ESPECIALLY if you’re a Pokémon fan. The tutorial is rough, but past it it’s amazing. Also the main games will never have you use Cynthia, Sabrina and Flannery on the same team...that’s how fanservice this game is and I can’t get enough of how perfect that is. Idk yet, but I wonder if Evil Teams are/will be playable...
Fun but limited
by Nathaniel Kenney on 2019/08/31 22:08
Before I go into this I just want to say that the game is fun and I love the concept, and is worth the download. There is co-op with friends which makes sense for a 3v3 style game. Now as for the negatives, there are a few big ones. My biggest one is no pvp. Pvp has always been a big part of Pokémon for me cuz me and my friends always loved battling each other, and hearing the devs say that it wasn’t going be in the game made me very sad that I couldn’t get that experience. I think it’s a little dumb that just because “It’s about cooperation” that you shouldn’t give the returning Pokémon fans the same experience. The gems are another thing. They shouldn’t have made paid gems and free gems a different thing. Your pushing micro transactions too hard for a franchise that already makes enough as is, and giving you 1 five star for paying 30 dollars is dumb because I got one on my first rng trainer. Lastly, grinding is too big of a thing if you don’t pay. Around chapter 4 and 5, I was too under leveled and on chapter 6, I was at max level (level 30 for 3 star characters) and was still too weak to do it, making me grind for 4 star or above of the right type trainers, and then grind for the levels for them. Like I said it’s still fun, but very limited to most players and I probably won’t stay on it for long unless they make changes.
Overall pretty Unique gameplay
by Cutie pretty girls on 2019/09/02 10:49
Ives seen similar games using energy bars and stuff but with the moves in the this you could literally combo a huge attack and not let the enemy take a shot at you. I don’t know if this is true or not but if you can trigger a move before your opponent then it counts as the first moves then the next moves. But the thing is ppl could just spam the “buff” and all three at once while the ai triggers maybe one or two moves. I feel that this should be removed since if I had a fully connected thought out team I would be able to not even let the ai or enemy take a turn in using attack. Finally my biggest issue with this game as a Pokémon fan The leveling system I mean if you can at first lvl the living crap out of the first level 5 stat sync trainer you get then you can grind the level training room. I understand it says training room meaning it’s meant to help you grow but there should be a limit to it I mean I got my Pokémon’s that I mainly use up to lvl 85max and 80max and that was only in a day. I found my self with flowing right through the campaign and the pml league. Very sad I didn’t have a challenge. Biggest thing you should do right now though is nerf all training rooms to 10/10 try’s and put a 1 hour cool down for each try.
Just stop... don’t... get this game.
by Delaney303 on 2019/11/06 05:41
Typical grinder, get your mats level up beat next level, rinse, wash, repeat. Here’s the kicker, the potential system which is based on a star rating system 3 - 5 stars, is hugely flawed, you need 20 potential tickets to go from 3 stars to 4. Cool I’ll farm em’. Negative ghost rider you can only get those during events and three at a time. This is a problem because the lower the toons star rating the lower their lvl cap. Also the weird paywall they have, it’s kinda like a paywall but not really, because currently they hand out in game currency pretty regularly, but if you spend bucks for gems and do the sync pair scout x 10 there is absolutely no guarantee that you will get the toon you need or want so it’s a weird RNG paywall. Boring story, insane difficulty on the EX matches online to the point I can’t be matched with anyone for co-op, the auto play feature is pretty bad just let us steam roll those training matches without having to constantly hit the fight button, no way to farm Pokémon that aren’t gotten through story other then RNG, can’t join gyms and compete in PVP, the graphics are nice we get it can we speed the gameplay up? Combat is agonizingly slow. It’s almost like the Devs said to themselves “can we make a bad Pokémon game that people will spend money on? Yeah, yeah we can.” And that’s kinda what they did. So either wait a year and see if the devs get their act together or just don’t play.
No since
by We are the body on 2019/10/14 12:31
I liked the game at first but once I worked my way through the story line and got to Ex raids and stuff this game is stupid hard at the higher levels. It was way easy at first then got so hard it’s more frustrating now than even fun. You can have three maxed out Pokémon and still don’t have a chance. Very aggravating grinding to max out what you think should be a great combo of Pokémon you need just to find out all that work for nothing. It’s even like that on the very hard training stages. At least with the real game you had a chance without the #1 Pokémon in each group if you was willing to grind and level it up. In this game it is too one dimensional it’s crazy. Only one way to win at upper levels or you just stuck playing the same old crap over and over. Another thing that I hate is they give your opponent a lot better moves and stats with the same exact Pokémon you have. Also in regular play why can the opponents sync move hit and knock out all three of your and your sync move only hits one at a time and usually very less effectively. Don’t waste your time unless you want to spend a lot of money and time trying to get the exact combo of Pokémon for all the various matches. If it was more like the real deal it would not matter. I could knock out anything as long as I had a strong enough Pokémon. In here level 100 doesn’t mean anything!
Still a 5 star game
by Flash/arrow/legends/fan on 2019/09/02 01:34
I have a few subtle issues with the game. Their are certain things that just don’t make sense and a few bugs. Like every time you open the game it spams the important message for news when it reality it is only new maybe once a day atm. Then I don’t really like the energy bar in the sense that one Pokémon takes from the others energy it’s a combined bar. Which to me is just kind of nonsense. It makes the game play much slower and less rewarding as far as damage goes and it makes the game require more turns or basically spamming single bar moves to moves the needle. Also I think it’s stupid some random moves hit all targets and then some special moves hit all targets. Doesn’t really make sense in the game logic. Other than that I still love it 5 start game just please balance the game a little better so it’s worth saving for 2 bar moves. Also please add more sync pairs!!! 65 pairs to start is not a lot when their are +800 Pokémon and we’ve seen and met hundreds if not thousands of trainers and leaders. It wouldn't be that hard to make an algorithm to randomize trainer styles like pokefan and poke ranger with different matching sync pairs.
Honest Review
by KidChaor1 on 2019/08/31 19:02
I have played many pokemon games over the years, on many different systems and this one fell short of my expectations. First of all the game is way to easy, and within less than 2 hours of gameplay time I beat every single story mission, and had three level 5 star characters all at level 85, and the ending or continuation is lacking as it just says this is as far as the game goes in a message. although i could have kept playing and maxed my characters out at 100, i did not see the point. The game istelf is too linear and the attempt to add on any free roam is pointless and linear as well. The replay value is pointless because you can get anything you need in training rooms within seconds. I find is tedious to play mission just for story thats two sentences the its complete....just add the to the next misison so it isnt a waste of time. P.s. pokemon games now with the internet are about being the strongest and playing online. either focus on the story and go big on that or go big on multiplayer, but this game fails in both regards. the multiplayer is basically you sharing attack turns with other players against a computer, and it isnt even a stronger player thay you couldnt beat yourself. thats all, no communicating with anyone or actually battling. The only beight side is seeing characters from other games all in one and the fact that in only took 2 hours of gameplay and didnt waste a lot of my time.
Some things I like, some I don’t
by Hannah Joestar on 2019/08/30 19:13
I won’t lie, this is a pretty fun game. However there are two particular things I’m disgruntled about. 1. Why are daily summons hidden behind a paywall? This is the first gacha game I’ve heard of that has done something like that. I am not planning on spending my money on this game and that fact that you have decided to do that is pretty dumb. I’m not the only one upset about this. 2. This is about the voice actors. Now, I’m a fan of and know of the majority of actors that were cast for the characters in this game, heck my friend Alejandro is one of them(he’s Roark), but wouldn’t it be possible to get the original or current anime voices of the pre-existing characters? One the voice actors in the anime, who’s name I won’t mention for privacy, expressed his sadness when he wasn’t even contacted about this game. He is one of the voices I grew up with but knowing you didn’t even bother to contact the current anime actors is a horrible move. I am absolutely sure that they would have LOVED to be in this game. In fact, in the credits, you don’t even list which actor plays who, just the actor’s name. Think about the other actors too. Please, you need to realize that they love what they do and the suddenly be replaced by someone else without their knowledge until they learn about it out of nowhere.
Fun Game but huge error in direction.
by Orphennnn2 on 2019/08/29 22:19
Honestly I will give the game 3/5 because the animations are cool and the storyline is neat, and it’s unique to Pokémon. Honestly though in making this game they made a massive mistake. You took a franchise that’s all about collecting, leveling, evolution, and mainly battling and turned it into a fully focused PvE game. It’s 2019 and even during red, and blue back in the day after you beat the game all there was to do was collect, trade to evolve, and link up to battle. You took the main aspect out of Pokémon which is to be the best and battle it’s literally in the original song. It’s so sad there is nothing competitive about this game I really wanted to like it, and was prepared to put some money into it to get the trainers I liked, but honestly there’s no point in spending a dime on this game you can beat the whole game without spending any money and it’s super easy. PLEASE LISTEN TO ME DO NOT SOEND YOUR MONEY ON THIS GAME. If you want to Kill time best the story there is no end game. There is no competitiveness. I was hoping this would make up for how Sword and Shield was looking but honestly at least sword and shield has PvE and PvP and end game battling with other players. I wish this company the best of luck with this game but without end game and a reason to spend money you won’t succeed and pvp is a reason a story line isn’t.
One of the bettter Gacha games.
by Skelterfelk on 2019/08/30 15:29
I’m a massive Pokémon fan and this was my first experience with a gacha game. It seems to be alright for a Gacha, but that’s not saying much. It doesn’t have a rich story to back up your time like Fate Grand Order apparently does, but it also doesn’t have an annoying energy system like many mobile games do. One less thing to sink money on is always appreciated. The micro transaction split makes me sad; there are certain transactions you can only purchase if you use currency you paid for. On principle, I am disappointed in this; greed of this sort is seeping into so many of mainstream games thanks to mobile. Still, the game gives you the best character both game wise and character wise for free anyway, so there isn’t too much of a push to use the microtransactions. Don’t really see why people say this game is pay to win though; game seems just as easy paid as free. In summary, for a Gacha game, it’s beautifully animated, has simplistic gameplay without an energy system in addition to a mediocre story, and microtransactions that aren’t too obtrusive but are ridiculous if you actually decide to pay. One of the better Gacha games especially if you like Pokémon characters, but still definitely a Gacha game with not too much to it gameplay wise.
It’s alright but...
by WesterBeaster on 2019/08/29 10:49
Before I get into negatives, I will say that I am having fun with the game so far. The concept is very interesting and I might like it more as I play. As for the negatives, I only have two gripes. 1) the battling. The Sync Bar on the bottom of the screen is a little slower than I expected. And the fact that there are moves that cost two sync points while doesn’t seem bad at first, you really have to wait a bit for it to fill back up to utilize your party’s moves and that can really halt the gameplay. The passive moves don’t really help that much either in regards to wait time. And then there’s 2) the gems. It’s no secret that micro transitions are becoming the social norm. But the way this game handles it is just dumb. Apparently there are two kinds of gems, the ones you earn while playing and the ones you pay for with real world money. As of writing this, there’s an event going on that would let you get a 5 Star character for 3000 PAID gems, and that is going to cost around $20-$30 dollars. FOR ONE CHARACTER. Why is the currency for this game like this? If the gems were used like in every other mobile game with micro transactions, then I wouldn’t complain as much. But this is just insulting. Especially for a franchise that has enough money as is.
Great game!

I really wanted to like this. Really tried. The fact the people behind this f-ed up a game is beyond me. Without the name “Pokemon” this would have flopped so hard. The grinding for little reward is too much. I pretty much leave my phone on auto to get awards. This isn’t a game... why can’t we just have a normal Pokémon game. Everything else besides gems is basically useless after a while. And 300 gems for each sync unless you want to pay... and pay? Wow that is so much money. How greedy can you be? I’m over this. Was playing Pokémon duel before this, which was okay... better than this. But this is awful. The fact the creator of this has publicly apologized... okay. So fix it? Your fix is adding more levels? More grinding? No dude! Add more Pokémon! Add way more Pokémon and make them more accurate to what they are useful for. HOW IS ARCANINE NOT A STRIKER!? You’ve really messed up Pokémon. Please stop, and give the job to someone else to salvage. Or better yet, remove this from the App Store and create a real Pokémon game. I hope people read this and stay clear instead of wasting time like I did. I’ll give this 2 stars because it still takes a lot to create a game and I do see the people behind this making updates and trying to fix it. But unfortunately, I don’t see myself coming back to this. Cheers.
Good concept, poor execution
by Spira Lethe on 2019/10/08 14:52
If you have a gambling addiction stay away! This game is set up to be very predatory. Endgame coop games are impossible without specific premium summons and this game is very stingy when it comes to free ones. Unless you had very good luck with your free pulls, you’re going to hit a hard road block. Towards the end, this game also gets super tedious and repetitive. Drop chances for certain items you need are low and it requires repeated grinding to gather enough for upgrades. What’s worse is that certain items are only available via coop play and those bosses are incredibly difficult to defeat. The random people you’re connected with might not have the right team and might not know the very specific method to use to win. With some of the bosses there’s no margin for error so you end up losing or quitting the vast majority of battles. Not to mention endgame bosses are basically immune to every disruption so a third of the characters are essentially useless. The game can be really fun but the developer needs to make some serious changes for it to last. It’s currently bleeding players. There’s barely any new content and the stuff that has come out has been lackluster. At the moment it just feels like a quick cash that will be abandoned after the player base has been sucked dry.
THE BEST
by ACPC_MaryJane on 2019/11/06 13:46
Ever since playing games through apps on smartphones became a “thing”, all I’ve wanted was to be able to play Pokemon on my smartphone. And there was never a good, original Pokemon game for free until now. Sure there was Pokemon Go later on and others like Magikarp Jump but none of these really captured the ‘feeling’ of playing Pokemon like I used to on Nintendo consoles. I was disheartened at the idea that the only way was to have to play using emulators. Which felt more like wasting my time anyway because there would never be new content, just replaying games is not enough! But the way this game incorporates all our favorite characters from past games while still bringing in new content through regular updates is the best aspect of it I think. And the way you battle and level up each sync pair is similar enough to the original gameplay that you get that same feeling of playing the original Pokemon games I grew up with and I absolutely love it. Thank you so much Nintendo for making this game and making it available for free!
No incentive
by CDCount on 2019/09/07 08:23
No incentive to play or even log in. To elaborate your daily challenge rewards only reward pitiful manuals that you can get by easily doing a training mission. Level a mon to 100? Enjoy your pitiful manual as a reward, maybe get that other new mon to level 6 with this bad boy. Incredibly greedy, even by gacha standards. Expect any celebration or give aways for 10 million downloads? Nope sorry. Not even going to acknowledge in game besides a nicely worded letter. Once the launch bonus daily rewards are gone good luck even doing one summon a day if you’re f2p. Oh and did I mention two different types of currency? Wouldn’t want you f2p-ers thinking you’re in the same tier as whale and dolphin-kun. Actually there is no reason to dolphin because you need 400 summons to get the pity selective summon. Oh btw this 400 countdown resets as soon as the next banner hits. So it’s pretty much worthless. Game has great personality in its characters and is a joy to look at but if you peel apart the beautiful wrapping you’ll find a game plagued with unnecessary greed from its devs that cripple the experience entirely. If you are dead set on playing it I recommend waiting a year and checking in to see if they’ve made any significant changes when it comes to their business model. If you have a gacha itch there are plenty out there that are much more generous without this level of avarice.
As a Longtime Pokemon Fan
by NexusMHX on 2019/09/06 22:22
Liking the game as it feels like the traditional Pokemon game when it comes to dialogue and corniness of how people act (which is a nice reminiscent). The Gacha system seems a bit weird at first but tbf, all games from Japan are like that. The gameplay is alright though I have a massive problem with that. Type matchups are inconsistent. It feels like each Pokemon have their primary typing (dual type Pokemon have a Primary and sub type) as their main attacking and each Pokemon is weak too only one type. This feels so lacking and such because Pokemon types have different weaknesses and resistances which is annoying when a primary grass pokemon isn’t weak to fire but rather flying (Rosa is an example). For some long time fans who know proper match typing for certain Pokemon will get thrown off by this system. Second Problem is the lack of a choice of a Pokemon for your trainer (the player) being limited by a Pikachu. Let me say that Pikachu is aight but far from my favorite Pokemon. It would be better if we could choose our Pokemon (within reason) would lead us to use them (the player’s character) more often instead of replacing them with a Pokemon trainer with a different Pokemon that they might like or for usefulness.
Fun game but
by DS*eevee on 2019/09/06 17:38
This game is really fun but there’s still a lot that needs to be fixed. The game sometimes freezes or takes forever to load when I want to load the battles. I know it’s not my internet because it works for all my consoles and laptop with no issues. I would rather have a team of 6 Pokémon, not 3. And the fact you can’t pick your starter is a let down. It would also be nice have more options to make my character unique(clothes, hairstyles etc.) Another recommendation I have is for the exchange and to be able to mass exchange the same item if you have more than ten. It’s annoying have to go back and click on the same item if you have more than 10 of it. Loving the game so far and I’ve hooked on it but I wish summoning was cheaper. And also make it so that a Pokémon has more than one weakness. Not just that water is weak against grass but also electric. I can’t wait to see how this game improves! I have a few more recommendations for the game that is to make the evolution stones cheaper since for the 3rd evolution is overpriced and there’s much of an option to earn coins. I can see 300, 000 for all 3 stones but not just one. And grinding for items to release the level cap is annoying and takes too long. Especially to get the gym notes. I don’t want to uninstall this game but for the moment, it’s not an enjoyable experience.
Okay for a little while...
by PotatoGuy13 on 2019/11/28 04:00
I’m just going to get straight to the point, the game is really fun, but only up to the late storyline. After that you either spend tons of money and still have to grind for a while to progress, or for F2P people you almost need to grind indefinitely. There’s no PVP or catching Pokémon, you can’t swap your own sync Pokémon (no more forced pikachu partners anymore PLEASE) and the storyline isn’t even finished yet. The plot isn’t that unique, even with tons of characters from all the regions. It’s just the same old “Pokémon are partners not servants” theme that’s been used in Pokémon countless times. Some sync pairs are completely overshadowed by stronger ones, and have little to no use due to the fact that the only effective strategy against the bots is to boost up and spam. The game does have its good points, the graphics and designs are awesome and the sync pairs all act the same way they were represented in the anime or the games. There’s tons of side stories you can do too that are pretty well made. The game could be a lot better and I’m hoping it will improve in the future by reducing the grind and balancing sync pairs to shake up the meta. It’s definitely at least worth a run through the main storyline if nothing else.
Worth trying
by Nekomi012 on 2019/09/21 14:39
I loved this pokemon game at the start. The main story was amusing, it was great to see old characters and the battle system is simple, but interesting, however after clearing the main story there isn’t much to do right now. I did manage to get through the story with F2P pokemon after leveling them up enough so that was a plus, but I wish I had more reason to use my own character more as they get outclasses by a certain other lighting trainer later on so you”ll probably rarely see your own character in your team again unless you’re just dedicated to using them. I also wish there were more evolutions. It might not with certain characters, but I love seeing pokemon evolve. The events are nice for collecting items, but they are not interesting in the slightest and I stopped bothering with them as soon as I got what I needed, daily mission rewards and log in bonus are mainly rewards that you could get multiples of from a single training quest run and they are the lowest rarity of the training items. The only real worth in daily is the gems rewarded. I’m sure I’ll get back into when more story is unlocked or when funner events start up, but as of now I just log in to get the weekly gems.
Pay2Win
by Kiss-Shot Snail on 2019/09/08 00:14
The game is tons of fun, and I truly enjoy it. However, DeNA is being horribly stingy with Gems. 10 Gems for uncapping 20 characters, 10 Gems for meeting 100 sync pairs, nothing for the 10 Million Players milestone. Once you complete every quest once, you’re only getting Gems by either buying them or logging in every day. Which means you get one 10 scout every week and a half. “Trainer Points” are earned by scouting with your hard-saved Gems, and they allow you to choose any sync pair you want! Great, that’s a good idea!.. except you need to do either 5 or 10 10xScouts (I can’t recall exactly atm), and they EXPIRE when the current banner expires. So even if you pay $100 and get 9 10xPulls, if you can’t scrounge up another 3k gems you’ve lost out on your Trainer Points. There’s not enough content to keep ANYONE playing for any longer than three months, and only that long if the next two events are better than the current Blue event. This type of game thrives if there’s a ton of content, or if it’s generous enough with its freemium currency that players can pull frequently. I really enjoy this game, but right now it has neither. And don’t tell me DeNA/GameFreak/Nintendo needs to make money off this, the Pokemon brand alone makes more money than God every year
Surprisingly Fun!
by Manic Crux on 2019/08/30 08:12
I really doubted this game upon hearing about it. Another mobile game with in-app purchases with Pokemon slapped on it? I had doubts. The gameplay is refreshing compared to past Pokemon titles simply because they tried something new and I think it really paid off. The quick strategy of matches really makes for a new exciting experience for anyone even veteran players of other Pokemon titles. As for the Pay-to-win aspects.. They seem barely present. This game requires grinding, as all other Pokemon titles did. Just in a different fashion. For instance they offer a 5 star trainer guarantee if you buy ten thingys, and I have used no real life currency, and gotten 3 Five Star thingys simply by saving in game currency. I give this a 4/5 for the sole reason that it feels slightly unfinished due to seemingly random errors that occasionally pop up. I’ve been booted out bc “my phones time isn’t accurate.” also a few errors with just no explanation. Once the game has been out a few more weeks and things become patched up, I think this game will be a must-play for any fan of Pokemon looking for a new way to enjoy an old system of battling.
Lots of errors and worst AI imaginable
by PureAppIsSexist on 2019/09/01 23:23
The game is decently fun, and it is new so it is somewhat expected to have some errors. But I think this game has way more errors than it should considering it is a Nintendo game. I feel if this was not a Pokémon game, it would not be getting such positive reviews considering other annoyances such as a really bad layout in my opinion. Finding out where to join a co-op room was hard to find. Lastly the auto is horrendous. I truly feel they created the AI with the intent to purposely try to lose the more you win. When I was doing auto mode to grind the level-up area, my team was fantastic. They would buff up, and then start attacking. After doing a couple of rounds, the AI stopped buffing which resulted me in dying half the time. Fast forward to me unlocking co-op, I was grinding at the Brock stage to gather gear, and my Lucario would just buff up and attack. After a while, my AI decides to switch out Lucario, who is a fighter and strong to rock type while doing 600 damage, to changing to my Gengar who was doing 60 damage with Lick. The only reasonable explanation is that the AI tries to find a way to lose. But for some reason, it sticks to that strategy half the time after it finds it.
Needs PVP like peanut butter needs jelly
by Scott T.1 on 2019/10/23 09:57
So, first off, it’s a great game. It’s cute and it’s simple, and it lets you rest as you play, but it’s also challenging enough to get you excited when you win. But this game needs PVP like Trump needs someone to manage his Twitter account. Devs, if you want a model for how it could work, check out Madden Ultimate Team, the Overdrive part of the game. Imagine this with me: There’s a random pairing process to stick you with an opponent in the same ‘arena’ as you. You don’t know what they’re bringing, they don’t know what you’re bringing. You two duke it out, and the winner wins ‘Fans’. The ‘fans’ are used to increase the level of your Arena, meaning that at the end of each two-week season, you get better rewards if you win more battles and make it to a higher arena. Then another two-week season starts and everyone is back at Arena 1, the bottom of the totem pole. That would be pretty sweet. At that point, I would be willing to declare the glory of the original Game Boy Color Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow had returned, in a mobile format. But as it is now, with only a single player/co-op shape, it’s a smidge empty.
Great fun game, but waaaaaaaay too little gems and so much grinding
by MudkipBestStarter on 2019/09/02 20:47
I love the story and characters of this game, and the gameplay itself is a fun twist on the traditional turn based formula, but the grind and microtransactions are ridiculous. You can get 30 free gems daily and it takes 3,000 gems to roll for 10 characters. It is only compounded by the minuscule rewards you get for completing story levels (10-30 gems), which is equally laughable . I am not paying nearly 30$ for the gems for a ten-roll. Also the shop prices are crazy. 300,000 gold for some evolve stones when it takes FOREVER just to grind them up, and 100,000 gold for a 3star level up manual when they are some of the easiest things to farm. Too much grind, not enough payoff. Also the reward/achievement system doesn’t really give you anything of worth for doing them, just basic items that you can easily farm in a single minute or 10 gems. Dragalia lost does it much better even with an energy system. They give you a good amount of free gems (100 per day for doing the daily missions, tenfold summon costs 1200), better rewards for achievements, and easier ways to get resources. It just feels like they’re banking on the Pokémon brand to sell the crappy microtransactions.
OMG RHIS IS A MUSTHAVE FOR FANS OF THE OLDER GAMES
by Frustrated runner2209 on 2019/10/07 23:45
I have loved Pokémon since I played Pokémon Y and then got obsessed with it, and I LOVE THIS GAME. My few complaints are CAN YOU ADD AN EVENT TO GET A DIFFERENT POKÉMON PARTNER? Because yes I know that Pikachu is a remembered classic, but it feels a teensy bit overused. Also, will you add pvp at some point? I like that you can battle alongside your friends but pvp would be a nice refresh from cpu battles. Other than those, I LOVE IT!!! You successfully captured (hahaha puns, sorry) all of the amazing feel of older games and added a new feel and style as well as new and classic characters. In short I love it and I hope you make more to come! I’m saying this as a person who started in gen six and loves all generations, so my opinion may not be worth much, but I hope it is to you! Also, guys, it just came out, and it’s a game, not a ditto. It’s going to have flaws, and the developers can’t change them that quickly. SAYONARA AND THANKS FOR ALL THE POKEDOLLARS (anyone know what the currency in the Nintendo Pokémon games is called? I think it’s called pokedollars but I’m not sure.)
BEST GAME EVER!!
by Schultz07 on 2019/08/31 17:09
So I have been really dissapointed since Gamefreak launched new pokemon game and not all generations can be transfered- annoying for those that have invested 7 yrs of their time To not be able to create their favorite team😒; all aside this game has magnificent potential, sure is Nostalgic, one thing I would like to see changed soon though would be the option to Provide your custom character to select their favorite pokemon instead of a pikachu, i have always hated pikachu, also: bring us Alakazam personally my fav or use the nintendo website as an idea for, introducing more leaders and pokemon that are the majorities overused there will be the demand, and please give us a MegaBlaziken i will be looking forward to see this additions. One thing i can say for now I am enjoying the game i hope this thing may come with more story mode, new stuff, there is alot of potential, amazing i love it, will be looking forward to future updates. Oh and could it be possible to introduce villains as Maxi or maybe Giovanni, that would be awesome too!
80% able to play without paying. But the 20% really gets ya.
by SonnyDaGinger on 2019/09/13 16:31
Pros: A pretty well made game with a pretty interesting battle mechanic. Very nice visuals. You can generally level up pretty easily and get up to pretty high levels within a good amount of time. Pretty organic gameplay Cons: You hit a certain point and you grind to a halt. There’s no real way to grind for gems after you have played through the basic levels and all of the super courses (they no longer give you gems after you have played it prior). You get to a point where it’s a ridiculous amount of time and items to up your level cap of your sync pairs and you can’t move on in the game until you can up those level caps. I know there are parts of this that are obviously just part of making a game so that you can make a certain amount of money. But basically my only goal or accomplishment in the game is for me to try my best to bring all of my sync pairs up to as high as I can get them. But I have had no ability to finish the last chapter with my current roster and with little to no ability to level them up any longer. Rather unfortunate turn of events.
Few changes can be made
by Lucky GreenBean on 2019/11/25 06:16
Let me start by saying I love this game. I mean I currently have 62 out of the 74 sync pairs, all moves and passives unlocked, and only 19 are not max level, I’ve farmed gear out, and I have a handful of sync move lvl 5’s on my 3 stars. Everything is done except grinds lol, there is a handful of complaints I have (none of which deter me from playing at all) but the only one I will mention and ask for is an easier way to view your sync move lvl! I mean in some cases you have to go as far as Team -> Edit Team -> Select Someone -> Pick who you’re wondering about -> Press the plus next to their picture -> Press the sync move button -> THEN view the sync move lvl on the top left of the frame. That’s a bit much. Other than that, make non paid multi summons more rewarding, if someone is willing so save up 3k gems they deserve a guaranteed 5 star in my opinion. Not necessarily a banner 5 star, but one nonetheless! I love this game, I know it’s only going up from the start! 5 stars from me
Why? Just, why?
by Dragon City Problem?! on 2019/09/16 00:41
Pokémon was such a great thing! Earlier side games were great! Pokémon Rumble and Conquest brought new ways to battle and collect Pokémon, but still held true to Pokémon’s basic concepts. These newer games though... Pokémon GO removes the 4-move concept and randomly brings two types of moves that make no sense in the Pokémon universe (referring to the quick moves and charged moves concept). It also takes away the battle-to-catch gameplay we all know and love. Instead, we can feed wild Pokémon berries and make them our friends! What happened to traditional Pokémon games; would it kill to have a normal Pokémon game for mobile? Then Masters comes and reworks the type effectiveness mechanism, sticks with the “quick move, charge move” concept, and somehow wants us to use paid gems instead of free gems for character packs. Not to mention the strange introduction of “sync pairs”. What happened to trainers? Also, what’s a “Grass Sync Beam”? Why not just incorporate Z-Moves so we can use Bloom Doom. I understand that final form partner Pokémon can have new “sync moves”, but can’t we just have these as signature Z-Moves like in the Gen 7 games? I hope we can get an actual Pokémon game for mobile soon; even another Gen 1 remake won’t hurt! Please take this review into consideration! Thanks.
Can wait for content but game feels over monetized early
by Guickdiclcjlb on 2019/09/03 19:13
First, yes, the game is lacking in content and today’s event is pretty lackluster, but it’s less than a week from launch and I’m always willing to give the devs a chance to listen to feedback and ideas and add more content. What is going to run players off, though, is the extremely non-f2p friendly gacha system and upgrade economy. Yes, the 5-star drop rates are solid, but completing the entire story gets you enough premium currency for about 20 pulls. After that, you’ll be waiting about 2 months for each 10 pull. The better pull rates are entirely offset by the sheer lack of pulls you’ll get. Even more offensive is the fact that upgrade materials have a shelf life. There are certain materials used to upgrade 5 star mons that have to be used in 60 days or they get deleted meaning you can’t save for future units. This is unheard of in gacha gaming. The gameplay is fun and the art is solid, but beware of the lack of content and, more importantly, the inability to clear end game without spending early and often. I expect the content to improve, but the monetization is worse than most other premium gachas and could kill the game early.
I love this game, but...
by Sombody who likes to rap on 2019/09/17 05:02
Ok, so let me first start by saying I was a little skeptical going into this game. After seeing the preview trailers I thought the idea of only being limited to a select few Pokémon seemed odd, but this game has me hooked. Don’t ask me about the main story I skipped through it and to my surprise I was not punished for this. You do have to grind a bit on this game but as with all Pokémon games that’s how it goes. I look forward to what future updates hold. Now to the negative. I debated long and hard if I should spend money on this game. I already had three 5 star sync pairs that you can’t acquire through the main story so I was pretty set. However I noticed a one time deal in the shop promising what I thought at the time was a guarantee 5 star sync pair promo where each of the ten sync pairs would be a 5 star, however this is not the case. After spending $20 on this mobile game I received just one 5 star sync, if I knew this to be the true nature of the offer I wouldn’t have spent a dime. Don’t waste your money like I did, just play for free.
Adjust evolving
by z0Gunner0z on 2019/09/08 23:54
The rate of 300,000 coins for one fragment to evolve a pokemon is absolutely ridiculous. Unless the developers have plans to increase the rate at which coins are earned, you are out of your minds thinking that this return rate is acceptable. I do enjoy playing this game quite a lot. However, it deserves one star right now. There are quite a few elements in this game that are poorly designed. The evolving portion is just one aspect. You’ve designed the game for very fast progression in the early stages, however I think due to the games short story you decided that making certain elements (such as evolving) take longer as an incentive to keep playing. Unfortunately that creates frustration as 300,000 coins (realistically 900,000 coins if the rate stays that way) to evolve one pokemon is again mind-boggling. This is further repeated when it comes to increasing the potential of each pokemon, moves, etc. The game feels very complete but also half-baked. It was pushed out too fast with little rewarding incentives to return and play once you’ve made significant progress (in light of what’s available in-game). I will hopefully be coming back to review it should changes be made to the current exchange rate of items for rewards (like evolving).
Such a great game & so much potential!
by ShaunForrest on 2019/09/22 11:47
This game is highly addictive and plays so well. The mechanics are easy to learn if you pay attention, and the graphics are top notch. The events and new Pokémon being added show that the team is working hard to push out new content. Overall, the game is just so much fun and I don’t see myself getting off any time soon. But, there is just one thing I’d like to suggest to the devs and that’s to finish the Pokémon you’ve all ready had in the game. There are so many evolutions and mega evolutions we don’t have for Pokémon that were in the game since launch. Sceptile is a huge favorite that hasn’t been able to acquire from evolving Treecko. Also hoping he will get his Mega Evolution, as well as Tyranitar needing his. I can go on and on but I know the team behind this knows their Pokémon and what’s missing from the launch day Pokémon. Thank you for making such a great game though and bringing me back to those days when I was grinding 24/7 in all the Pokémon games on my game boy.
How mobile Pokemon SHOULD be!
by AJ Zed on 2019/09/08 23:40
To all of you who are fans of the core series Pokémon games like me, this is definitely not a game you should pass up! An astonishing amount of characters from the core series are here with a decent amount of voice acting to boot! Character lore is fleshed out in Sync Stories which include even obscure characters such as Barry the rival from Diamond & Pearl and Roxanne the Hoenn Gym Leader. The battle system is somewhat simplified but honors the established mechanics of the core series games enough that it won’t be a bother to those used to core series game battle mechanics. The game looks great and you can tell Studio DeNA put in a great effort when it comes to the game’s presentation. The pay to win factor is low and no energy system means that how long you want to play isn’t tied to how much you want to pay. This is a great direction for Pokemon Company to take with their Pokemon mobile games. Whether you’re a newcomer; casual; or hardcore core series fanatic, this Pokemon game is worth a try and should not disappoint!
Amazing but Two Main Flaws
by psycogamer204 on 2019/09/02 00:43
What attracted me to this game was the style, All Pokémon games rolled into an app. When I started playing I pulled Brendan and Treecko. Treecko is my favorite starter and RSE is my favorite game trilogy. Then I got Rosa/Snivy which is my second favorite starter. The characters hooked me more. Until I realized, I can evolve Snivy to Serperior, but I can’t evolve Treecko to Sceptile. The missing evolutions did make me a little upset. But I hope in a future update we will get big evolutions like that. Also, Some big Characters that I thought would appear, May/Torchic, X/Y Starters, and Sun/Moon Starters. Even Villans like Giovanni, Lysandre, N (favorite Villan), and Jessie/James. Adding Villans would add so much to making it “your PML team” Maybe add a Side Story where the Villans team up to be the best PML Team, and you have to stop each villan. After you beat the Villans you can fight them again to get them on your team. The final villan could be Giovanni with his Persian of course N/Zoroark, Jessie/James would be one character with Meowth. But overall the game is amazing, only missing Villans/Starter Pokémon and Evolutions.
Gameplay
by Yurlex on 2019/09/12 10:48
Totally love this game! This game just barely came out but a few additions and this game will be great! Rare currency increase would be nice as the only way to summon new trainers is with crystals. An auto-run feature would be nice so if I’m grinding I don’t have to re-select the same stage etc. maybe an arena feature would be nice. Also maybe an explanation on items so you can see where they are located etc. for instance Gym Notes. I have no clue where to get them other then trading 100 skill capsules for one. And finally maybe allow players to “learn” new skills like the game where you can pick to keep old moves or learn new ones. All in all a wonderful game so far! :) The other thing is that maybe they need to tweak some of the end game stages. I’m totally baffled by some trainers that are weak to my type of Pokémon and then they one shot my entire team! Doesn’t make sense or maybe weakness doesn’t matter? And if at lvl 100 your Pokémon only has 400 HP then why can an enemy Pokémon -that is weak to your type- be able to hit you for 1000 HP? Perhaps I’m playing wrong but it doesn’t seem that weakness or type advantages really matter. The buffs your team can do don’t really matter either as I can buff my defense up and still get blasted for 1000 HP. All in all still worth checking out. Pre game is easy and fun and post game is a bit unrealistic and unfair at times. I know the game just came out so I’m sure they will get it all balanced. :)
minor but noticeable issues
by triggsters420 on 2019/09/03 04:25
Overall the fame is great, but the micro transactions are a major flaw especially since gems are divided in paid and unpaid categories. The co-op aspect is interesting, but as someone who prefers to play games alone don’t force us to go through the co-op basics, instead give us the option to run through them or not. I hated that i had to waste 20-30 mins playing an aspect of a game that i don’t need or want to. The materials needed to upgrade pokemon seems a little high and maybe could be lowered by just a little, or at least make the training missions drop more of the materials. Pokemon has always been about a fun environment, but this game seems more like a cash grab, grinding multiplayer game. Don’t pull away from what the series has been about and stick to fad of online games. This is Pokemon, not fortnite. Will gladly give 5 stars once some of these issues get solved and i’ll even be willing to spend a little bit of money on the game if I didn’t feel like i was forced to in order to have a better team. Good game, but still has a ways to go before being great.
You won’t use your own player much
by GuitarmanTommy on 2019/09/06 19:16
First and least important critique: I’m so sick of the “unevolvable Pikachu” gimmick. It’s really old, it’s NOT nostalgic, and Raichu is a REALLY cool pokemon. Not being able to evolve Pikachu gives me NO incentive to use my own Player. REVIEW: Play to win doesn’t actually seem obvious in this game. No crashing for me. I have two big gripes. First of all, the movesets and abilities each pokemon has are ridiculously unbalanced. For example, Snivy has some of the most useful skills in the game to the point that not using him severely hurts your combat effectiveness. Weaknesses don’t appear to be dynamic either, so each pokemon only has one weakness even if they traditionally have more water: grass/electric. I don’t have numbers but it seems to be the case. Last and most importantly, growth is a major theme in Pokemon games, but only specific pokemon are allowed to evolve at cost, they have pay to unlock level caps which makes evolving even more complicated and unnecessary, and have a star system which is completely unpredictable. I actually like the gameplay but there is very little incentive to play as long as progress is hindered in all these ways.
My review
by sam podwa on 2019/09/03 00:28
I love the game. It’s really cool and does have fascinating art, and graphic design. That’s more captivating than a lot of other mobile games. It has a more saturated art style if you can’t tell. Which the graphics is prob my favorite thing about the game. Other than that the 2nd favorite thing in my opinion is the characters. They really all have a lot of personality and flare to them especially the voice acting. The dialogue seems very cheerful and kiddish just like in the anime. And is very fun to read into but some parts are of the dialogue is boring, but it’s weather your interested in dialogue anyway. Now the battle system, the battle system is very simple and not complexed and is prob my lest favorite thing about it. It’s fun at first but after a while it’s gets very repetitive and shallow. It’s fun for a casual player, but if your more of a competitive and more strategical gameplay than a Rock Paper Scissors game strat than it can be a total turn off. But if they game did have a more complex and rewarding leveling up system I would prob give it a 5 star but other than that it’s a very fun game.
Fix The Pokémon Types Balance
by DominosEmployeeTNM on 2019/09/07 17:47
Pretty stoked about this game in general, the mechanics take a few matches to get used to be overall really a good mobile Pokémon game (which honestly, we’ve all been waiting for). What really gets me though, I wish the effectiveness between Pokémon types wasn’t so balanced. I had an electric Pokémon nearly one shot a ground Pokémon (that’s lvl 55) and honesty it’s pretty frustrating. It’s almost like when they made this game they threw the effectiveness concept out the window. I got rock Pokémon doing hard hits against grass Pokémon- yet, every other match a different “type” is more effective against rock, for example, one match its fighting that’ll beat rock type, the next it’s only water, after that grass... like, that needs to be fixed, or something needs to be done. It defeats the purpose of some of the Pokémon in the game. Ultimately, at least put a “not very effective” type thing in. Otherwise, what’s the point of having types in general??? Nonetheless, I’m enjoying it and will play it through until I can’t anymore, but- I wish it made more sense 🤷‍♂️
Buyer Beware
by Clamstew on 2019/10/02 12:12
This review is mainly regarding the gem purchasing portion of the app. First off, I stinkin’ love Pokémon. I started on red and blue 20 years ago and have never looked back. Pokémon Masters is a super fun game and really is addictive, as most of these reviews say. I’ve really enjoyed playing, but feeing a bit cheated right now as I decided to invest in trying to unlock the 5 star sync pairs. There were a few offers for discounted gems and I purchased a few sets to start unlocking. I maybe got one five star pair on my first go around. I’m in over $100 in purchased gems now and just feel so bummed as I’ve only acquired three 5 star sync pairs. One of these sync pairs came from 12,000 or more of non-paid gems you receive in game over time. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I’ve also been using the “daily discount” paid gem feature which gives you a higher rate of unlocking a five star sync pair. To date I have not unlocked one with this feature. Again, it’s a super fun game, but I feel a bit cheated because of my monetary investment. The risk greatly outweighs the reward. I wouldn’t even consider spending $100 on a console game and should not have spent on this app.
Lacks elements of pokemon, but is still decent
by clarkhunter001 on 2019/09/07 04:19
First lets talk about cons. Pokemon is a game where you battle with creatures called pokemon. Most of these creatures can evolve at least once to become more powerful. For a game about pokemon, I find it unfiiting to only have around six pokemon that can elvolve, despite the game contianing numerous pokemon that have no access to their evolutions. For instance, Duskcloos cannot evolve into Dusknior. Instead having a team if six, you have three sync pairs. Sync pairs are a gym leader, elite four, or main character from previous games along with one of their pokemon. You do not catch pokemon, instead you summon sync pairs. In order to progress you must level up, increase level max, and learn new abilities. Now lets talk about the pros. This game is free, but requires little grinding. Combat is simple and doesn't take long to get the hang of. It is sasy to level up. You can play co-op with your freinds. (After chapter 10) The animations look good. In conclusion this is far from a traditional pokemon game. If you get this game, do not expect it to allign with original pokemon games.

I have short hair and I’m a girl and I’m a little disappointed in how u can only have one hairstyle on ur character.

Thanks!

by jennifer22009983 on 2019/12/04 04:43
I’ve always loved Pokémon and this game is the perfect cheap and convenient way to play it, however I would like more features. But overall I love the game which is why it gets 5 stars

by Pancake the cat on 2019/12/04 00:24
The game is great but the main story needs new chapters and there needs to be more supercorses because when I get out of school I only do 2 corses because the time limit is to long but the game is still great. Also make the co-op easier because it’s to hard to get level cap and grind but you don’t need to rush because I just want it to be easier that’s all.Sorry I type a lot for a 8 year old.

Great Graphics and Story
I think this game is great
by 69+420 on 2019/12/03 19:20
This game is great but the only thing that I hate is that there is almost no way to get the evolution items really fast and it is really slow just to get 300,000 witch is only 1 evo stone.

Pokémon Masters Short Review

Do not waste your time playing this dumpster fire crap games. Awful character scout rates, small amounts of gems for mission rewards, and finally limited content.

I LOVE IT
by khaosxchameleon on 2019/12/03 04:52
I was honestly skeptical at first because I don’t like mobile games and was worried it may just be another throw away pokemon app.
Great but could use an update
by unigirl502 on 2019/12/02 21:16
I was playing and I wanted to update my team but then it makes me have to reload in the game as well as do a data load it’s been about three weeks and it still has not uploaded and I have to check on it every five minutes if I don’t it won’t update

Cons: every time you open the game it makes you use up all of your data. Pros: love this game and it’s really fun

It’s “ok”
by chsltsktktdsktldyyldyldlyd on 2019/12/02 16:35
The app is “ok” I am giving this review because pokémon is all about catching Pokémon and battling other trainers not collecting trainers and adding them to your team.
It’s ok but....
by acornpie on 2019/12/02 09:50
It’s a very fun game but it feels like I’m just doing the same level over and over, I wish there were some events where we can defeat difficult quests to get powerful 5 star Pokémon. (Not only Rosa)
Thanks, Dena!

Can you maybe add Elio (From Sun and Moon) into the game? With his Incineroar? And Selene as his twin sister with Primarina? Along with a new chapter? That would be great thanks! Also love the game!

Recently in the event, I got 3000 gems and then, I went to the shop and did the sync pair scout x10, then, poof. The game crashed and when I went back to the game I saw my gem count and I had 0 gems. Like, WHAT?! Please fix this Issue and give players who lost their gems in the event their gems back.

The game wouldn’t let me go in because it said the time on the device was different from real time so, I went to change the time I was like a second of from getting it exactly and it said it wasn’t the same.😡🤬
Needs some work
by HammerHamil88 on 2019/11/30 01:28
Can we have more than 7 Pokémon evolve please?!?

Your game is so rigged! I’ve taught Erika five times already and lost because everyone on that team keeps going for my Pokemon that’s strongest against her! You rig this game just to see people get mad, I swear. I love the gameplay but it’s hard to get a badge when the enemy keeps cheating!

ಥʖ̯ಥ
A pleasant surprise
by shadowhawk96 on 2019/09/11 07:14
I was very disillusioned with the mobile videogame market, with all the games out there that are just blatant cash grabs with a massive paywall, especially the pay-to-win multiplayer games where the person with the thickest wallet wins through a myriad of buffs, items, and specials only obtainable through straight hard cash.

Great game!

Gameplay
