Cox Internet has never been top notch. Got a new modem about a week ago and service has been hit or miss ever since and this is supposed to be the panoramic wifi. Do they give you credit when their service goes down? They know when there are outages. You shouldn’t have to call to request adjustments. I’d be calling every day

The app hasn’t worked in weeks. Keeps saying I need to sign out and try again. Half the time I’m always having to restart the modem to try and get WiFi to work. I’ve been with cox for over 14 years and I think I need a change. It goes out more than we have service .

We signed up for the panoramic WiFi and I spent 45 minutes on the phone only to be told this has never happened and it cannot be activated! Then she said my old modem wouldn’t work even tho it worked 45 minutes ago so she had to transfer me to downgrade my plan only to get HUNG UP on after 52 minutes! Use AT&T bcuz their customer service is terrible! Plus I always spend up to an hour on the phone every time I call them. I dread it each time I pick up the phone.

Since downloading a few months ago, I have gotten this app to work twice... by clicking repeatedly on “try again”. If you only need the app to work 3% of the time, this app is perfect for you! If you expect to be able to use it when you actually need it, don’t bother...

It’s good for sending reset to modem, and seeing devices on network. It will show online with no issue, after every device is booted off network. It has its use, but not a lot of them.

I find this really hard to navigate compared to the AT&T home manager app. It’s hard to see each device usage and you kinda have to create a profile to see things. Have to click on each device. Why don’t just have them mapped out. And the time is confusing too can’t really tell at what time it’s used that well. And then I have to go to the COX app just to see how much GB have already been used for the cycle. Or maybe there’s an option to see that in this app but I don’t see. In short, nice and works but really hard to navigate.

This Cox app does what it says...when it works. For some reason there are many times it does not function properly and you cannot access anything. I have had issues with this app on my phone and tablet. When I need to use it again, today no go. I Shut off devices relaunch and sign in and nothing but try again message. Frustrating.

I am not sure why, but assuming that it is possibly due to an upgrade, I cannot use this app anymore. I am still receiving notifications, but none of the app’s services are available. Just says “That didn’t go as planned.... Try again or Sign out”. Why can’t apps create updates that still include all customers regardless of the phone versions they have?

Sometimes only spot you can use it is in same room as router. Wish we had a better option! Going to try to move box to more central location but limited by very short coax cable and walls. Also have ordered some extenders/repeaters. Tried ones provided by Cox but they didn’t help. During pandemic, have not been able to get anyone to come out and assist. We’re on our own!

When I had my Internet speed increased from 100 Mb to one gigabit per second I expected lightning fast downloads just like they advertise. I was not impressed, in fact, I had a technician come out and prove that my computer actually did have a gigabyte of data speed. The price is good, but data speed improvement is hardly noticeable. Save the money and buy something nice for your wife.

After trying other IOS providers over the years, no doubt Cox out performs them all !! All aspects of the company are very good. From Sales to Service, they are professionals. Moved from an area that only offered dialup. Cox cable is more reliable in bad weather even though we loose connection occasionally. My previous experience with Cox cable my downloads seemed to jump into my system but this time they don’t seem much faster then the dialup most of the time.

5 times today out of nowhere we loose wifi. I upgraded my wifi and modem with working from home so this wouldn’t happen. The only way it works again is to reset the modem which takes time and prevents me from working.

Just replaced my modem to the Panoramic model. Works great. However, was told to download the Cox app to have more control of the network. Devices show up, but don’t say connected when they are and vice versa. Wife has a tablet connected and it doesn't even show up on the network. Cox techs claim there’s issues with the app.

What is wrong with your service, we have had nothing but problems with Cox. We loose connection constantly. I change out the router/modem and still have problems. The new equipment was dirty and had 43 different ibises connected to it. My neighbors have more divides then us and they have no problem and do not have the highest plan either.

Downtime doesn’t work like it should. My router must be set to a different time zone or something because none of the times actually line up to when I want or need things to go down. The last time I tried to mess around with it I couldn’t figure out what the heck time I needed to set it to so that downtime would begin at 8pm, cause no 8pm did not work. It use to turn off at 8pm if I set it to 10pm and back on the following day at 1pm if I set it to 3pm, but not anymore. Now it works for a night and then refuses to unpause, forcing me to delete the downtime schedule. And I REALLY wish that instead of only having a weekday and weekend option for active time, I could customize what days I want to have active time limits. Like possibly choosing which days of the week, instead of M-F...I include Friday in weekend time and have to remember every Friday to shut off the time limit pause and then remember to turn it back on on Monday. Seems trivial but when you are busy with life, it gets annoying. So basically the only thing I use the app for now is to see if my internet is down or if it’s just being unbelievably slow again.

What is the point of offering an affordable option when the speed doesn’t support even a few devices? The more expensive/faster option, which my family really doesn’t need, is almost $100 a month! Most phone plans come with unlimited data, which is the reason I opted for the basic WiFi plan that seems to work at certain times. The app is great! And I love how my apartment came prewired for Cox services. The troubleshooting capability on the app seems pointless when the internet is not connected to the network, it’s almost impossible to get customer service to help troubleshoot, they repeat exactly what the app suggests before actually sending useful help. Again...what’s the point of offering support if it doesn’t resolve a connection problem?
Substandard WIFI

Cox Cable has been to our home multi times and can not resolve the internet WIFI, latency, lag, speed or packet loss issue even using their internet premise WIFI equipment or added supplemental premise added WIFI extenders. The techs come out and seem to have the cable related knowledge but they all seem to fall short on their knowledge when it comes to the abilities of the Cox premise equipment or how to prove why the issues are happening. They also don’t have the ability to map the WIFI signal strength that runs through the house. Not one has shown any printout or live screen shot that shows how the WIFI reacts to the house, walls, ceilings or floors (2 story house). Even with Cox Cable management involved, that didn’t help. Thank goodness COVID-19 came. At least now they have a reason why they can’t do everything they can. The really sad part to this problem is that I’m not the only one having it.

I have been with Cox since March. My installation was hindered by COVID, but I was able to self install. Since then internet speeds have slowed and my ability to view TV has gotten worse. I was forced to watch the last three week of football without sound and with service interruptions. I have contacted support several times and received a refund, but no improvement. I was notified today that the ”construction” that was causing my problems had ended so I tested the speed. (19.3 upload and 4.46 upload since I downgraded to 50 mbps) I was told to reset the modem that didn't work. My radio is buffering. (will try the manual rest when I leave) Waited 7 minutes with o response from tech text support. They disconnected without a response. I’ve done all I can to stay with them and tolerate the horrible service. I would check to see if you havsother options.

A warning usually displays during a Zoom conference indicating “internet connection unstable”. Many times during the day I see an error note on my laptop stating that it cannot reach the desired website as there is no internet connection. A few minutes later the connection is made. Upload & download speeds are good when connection is solid. I usually have to reboot the router every 2-3 days. We have 3 pods to CTR do the WiFi range, but these work only a shot distance from the router. No signal at all in the lower home and thus a smart TV there has no internet connection, just cable tv. Cox tech could not resolve this limitation. Only 2 pods of 3 are functional.
When it works, it’s fine.

I’ve had this app for about a month now to help control my child’s internet access while my wife and are working. For about a week recently, the app wouldn’t work at all which was extremely frustrating because I needed to make some adjustments to internet access. I wish there was a way to allow access to only a few sites and block everything else. As far as I can tell, this app simply allows me to limit internet usage as I deem necessary for the users to whom I allow access to my WiFi. It’s a little interesting to be able to see who is using WiFi and how much but this app isn’t all I hoped it would be.

I like how user friendly this app is. I’m able to manage my devices, see what’s using the most data and I’m able to edit my WiFi so easily. I really like this app compared to when I had ATT and the nighthawk app. For the most part this modem does really well with getting my signal around the rooms in my house but sometimes my internet goes in and out but it’s only after being online for a while. Overall I like the modem and love the app.

Sometimes the app is unresponsive when pausing devices. Every so often I have high packet loss and random router restarts. I had 3 internet outages in the pas month that lasted over several hours each. The additional $50 for unlimited internet is crazy. While purchasing my internet package I never even asked for the rented panoramic Wifi. I specifically told the sales guy that I have a router already that I can use. Hard to use

I find this really hard to navigate compared to the AT&T home manager app. It’s hard to see each device usage and you kinda have to create a profile to see things. Have to click on each device. Why don’t just have them mapped out. And the time is confusing too can’t really tell at what time it’s used that well. And then I have to go to the COX app just to see how much GB have already been used for the cycle. Or maybe there’s an option to see that in this app but I don’t see. In short, nice and works but really hard to navigate.

I’ve had Cox for a couple years now. The cable tv is good but not great. I have screen freezes and other issues periodically. The phone service is great. The WiFi has always been sporadic. Originally I had the 300mbps package. At first I got great speeds and then it was all over the place, up and down. Recently Cox talked me into a new modem/router combo with the “Gigablast” speeds up to 960mbps. So far that’s been a no show. I had better speeds with the older router/modem. And my smart lights and plugs stopped working because of the upgraded equipment.

I’ve had my internet at home for a few months now and your service because of the installer is garbage. He came up with this story that bc ATT likes to cut lines in the house it was easier to set the internet up in a bedroom always from the central point of my house. The results kids? Daddy has horrible WiFi at home! I can’t step onto my back patio that is visible from my living room without losing connection or it’s super week. I am unhappy and I need your company to do all something about this trashy method to do what easy vs. what will bring good service to a home!
Another Non Concerning Business

I am finished my one year contract with Cox come January and I am going elsewhere. Thank goodness I have plenty of Internet companies to choose from. Cox has made me increase my spending by almost $100 since last December, I believe they intentionally slow down speeds to make me pay more for panoramic, data and other fees. We have had the same devices and over the last 3 months our data usage is through the roof, internet drops every hour and if you don’t pay $10 each month for support, they give you useless information.

After trying other IOS providers over the years, no doubt Cox out performs them all !! All aspects of the company are very good. From Sales to Service, they are professionals. An individual may pay slightly more per month but if you’re looking for total value then don’t humiliate yourself by engaging with the other outfits. Andy C

Ever since I was talked into the new “gigablast” WiFi I have had NOTHING but trouble with the service. Restart, freeze to stream every night, kids only get one hour of screen time which turns into complete frustration. Hopefully COX will see this and reach out to me, called 4-5 times with the same problem, down load the app, restart system, flush the toilet honestly please reactivate my old router and modem I used throughout most of the scamdemik when EVERYONE was home, during that time it worked just fine. OVER IT, so are the little ones!!!!!!

I am not sure why, but assuming that it is possibly due to an upgrade, I cannot use this app anymore. I am still receiving notifications, but none of the app’s services are available. Just says “That didn’t go as planned.... Try again or Sign out”. Why can’t apps create updates that still include all customers regardless of the phone versions they have?

I’ve been with Cox for years but the service now has got to be worse than ever!! The higher I pay, the more the connection drops it seems! Not only do we have to use phone data frequently but now the “usage” has skyrocketed in a time that we’ve used less internet than EVER. Kids at school, devices paused, we aren’t even gaming anymore!! Almost $200 a month and for what?? We don’t even have the bundle anymore, JUST a panoramic router. About to drop Cox just like I did DirecTv. FIX IT!!

We signed up for the panoramic WiFi and I spent 45 minutes on the phone only to be told this has never happened and it cannot be activated! Then she said my old modem wouldn’t work even tho it worked 45 minutes ago so she had to transfer me to downgrade my plan only to get HUNG UP on after 52 minutes! Use AT&T bcuz their customer service is terrible! Plus I always spend up to an hour on the phone every time I call them. I dread it each time I pick up the phone.
Internet Monopoly of my city

A month and a half after beginning this service, my router stopped working. 3 months in and 2 routers later, I can’t load anything on my computer while attempting to work from home (my plan is what was suggested as someone who lives alone). After returning the broken router, more than a month later, I’m getting messages telling me to return the equipment..... this is the only internet service provided in my area, and its absolute garbage.
Slowest internet

It doesn’t matter if you are purchasing the most expensive Internet package or the cheapest Internet package. All of them are slow. I pay for the 1 GB giga blast and only get the slowest speed possible. I’ve called numerous times, they’ve reset it numerous times, and still always slow and shuts off. Unfortunately between Cox and century link being the only two Internet providers right now in my area I don’t really have a choice.
Good when working

Very satisfied when everything is working how it’s supposed to. When I upgraded to the fifa last I figured I wouldn’t have any lag issues or dropped internet issues. But it seems to go out more now than it ever did. Guess I get through the pandemic and see if it’s any better. If not I ll switch.

Sometimes only spot you can use it is in same room as router. Wish we had a better option! Going to try to move box to more central location but limited by very short coax cable and walls. Also have ordered some extenders/repeaters. Tried ones provided by Cox but they didn’t help. During pandemic, have not been able to get anyone to come out and assist. We’re on our own!

The Google reviewer just above me stated my problems perfectly. I have same problem. I did increase to the supposedly faster better internet and it still does the same darn thing. At least it’s not 20-30 times a day now but almost every day a few times. I get so frustrated !!!
Reliability & Speed

Moved from an area that only offered dialup. Cox cable is more reliable in bad weather even though we loose connection occasionally. My previous experience with Cox cable my downloads seemed to jump into my system but this time they don’t seem much faster then the dialup most of the time.

This Cox app does what it says...when it works. For some reason there are many times it does not function properly and you cannot access anything. I have had issues with this app on my phone and tablet. When I need to use it again, today no go. I Shut off devices relaunch and sign in and nothing but try again message. Frustrating.
Outages

The internet/WiFi goes off several times a day. We upgraded to the panoramic WiFi because your troubleshooting person said that would fix the problem, it didn’t. Very disappointed with Cox internet/WiFi service. If this continues I will search for another provider that can give me reliable service.

WiFi service has been terrible the last couple months but really bad last two weeks. Wife is working from home and is depending on an undependable service. Called twice and got no real explanation. Upgraded for the best service and it isn’t worth it. Won’t have your service much longer. Shopping for a new provider with dependable service.
Issues with modem

5 times today out of nowhere we loose wifi. I upgraded my wifi and modem with working from home so this wouldn’t happen. The only way it works again is to reset the modem which takes time and prevents me from working.

Just replaced my modem to the Panoramic model. Works great. However, was told to download the Cox app to have more control of the network. Devices show up, but don’t say connected when they are and vice versa. Wife has a tablet connected and it doesn't even show up on the network. Cox techs claim there’s issues with the app.

I’m paying for Gigablast or whatever Cox’s highest speed connection is called and if I stream video on one device and open a web page on another, everything crashes for at least two minutes, or until I close the web browser. Embarrassing bad internet. Definitely canceling service.

What is wrong with your service, we have had nothing but problems with Cox. We loose connection constantly. I change out the router/modem and still have problems. The new equipment was dirty and had 43 different ibises connected to it. My neighbors have more divides then us and they have no problem and do not have the highest plan either.

The app hasn’t worked in weeks. Keeps saying I need to sign out and try again. Half the time I’m always having to restart the modem to try and get WiFi to work. I’ve been with cox for over 14 years and I think I need a change. It goes out more than we have service .

Cox Internet has never been top notch. Got a new modem about a week ago and service has been hit or miss ever since and this is supposed to be the panoramic wifi. Do they give you credit when their service goes down? They know when there are outages. You shouldn’t have to call to request adjustments. I’d be calling every day

If there was a better provider in the Santa Barbara County I would contract with them. I pay $85 a month my Internet is constantly interrupted, slowed down, or completely disconnected. Our second story upstairs I have zero connection with Wi-Fi and telephone!When I hardwire the connection is still poor. Supposedly I have 50 Mbps! Ursula Norby

I’ve been a customer for almost 20 years and the service has declined this year. I’ve upgraded to their top of the line as far as modems and speeds etc, but the speeds have slowed down to a crawl and there seems to be outrages monthly. They need to improve on the quality control or we will have to look elsewhere.

The worst possible internet service since high speed internet. Internet service which now means remote work, home security, tv service, phone has been out six times since last Friday. That makes more than once a day. And each time it is out for hours at a time

When I attempt to login using my Cox account it tells me the primary user needs to grant me access. I’ve tried to get help from Cox but they can’t seem to help. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app several times and changed passwords as well. How can I get it to work. Getting frustrated.
