Cannot get it to play any music.

After several troubleshooting steps. I could not get the app to play any sound on any platform. Sonar works studio reference is incredible though 👌🏻
Almost...
by TheMajikMann on 2019/12/15 10:30
I love how the mids become more present with the AirPods. BUT.... when using Spotify as the source, I swear the stream sounds like 96kbs. Definitely a bummer, because there’s a lot of potential with this app.
Great when it works
by Christopher Karns on 2019/11/22 18:41
But all the songs in my iTunes library are playing at 3/4 speed. It used to work great. No recent updates have fixed this problem
Easy 5/5 just download it
by DD479994 on 2019/10/25 18:53
Idk how this doesn’t have 1,000 5-star reviews. It’s a great user experience and a phenomenal result. I am so impressed and happy. HUGE improvement even just with gen 1 AirPods!!
Great sound, when you can get it to work
by Lazarusdmx on 2019/10/10 16:15
This app is fantastic if you can actually get it to run. It appears to require wifi to run at all, otherwise it force quits. It absolutely does improve sound, but the improvement varies greatly head phone to headphone. I have the desktop version and it works well, this mobile version still has some iterations left before you can reliably think of it as a go to music experience.
Spotify artist page completely empty now
by mitchell_guitarguy on 2019/10/02 14:32
The artist page is displaying as empty in the last few updates
Closes Constantly
by Caveman 74 on 2019/09/25 08:42
Love the concept but the app closes too much at launch. I have to press the app 10 to 20 times before it will stay open. This issue needs to resolved quickly.
App Crashes Upon Startup
by dragonmaster942 on 2019/09/19 22:32
When I open the app, it crashes before I can even interact with it. Deleting it and reinstalling it didn’t work either.
Good when it works!!
by Shadowdane on 2019/09/18 19:14
This improves the sound of my headphones by leaps and bounds!!! BUT it won’t seem to even load the app unless your on WiFi?????? I have a strong LTE signal with 5 bars... why would it fail to launch on a wireless signal?? I can’t see any reason why this would only work if WiFi is enabled! The app is basically useless for travel if your in a car, plane or train!!
Very pleased
by #irate4u 1210 on 2019/08/31 00:02
I absolutely love this app. I am a sound snob and I absolutely cannot stand when an app is supposed to be for EQ adjusting and then it only gives you bassboost options. This app, on the other hand, is very helpful. I loved being able to choose what sounded better for me and it actually adjusts more than just the bass. The only problem with this app is that it buffers sometimes even though this is my purchased and downloaded music from iTunes. Sometimes it will also just randomly stop in the middle of a song (not sure what the reason is exactly), but once that is fixed, it will definitely be a strong 5 stars!
wont play anything without spotify

Company losing track of what’s important while playing with technology
by In apps we trust? on 2019/08/17 12:51
Update: Past issues not addressed. Now won’t even load library in a reasonable amount of time (30 minutes). Functionally useless. Will now reluctantly delete. Too bad. Basic profiles work well, but latest updates introduced additional personalization that is overly complicated and results in poorer sound profiles. Forced to use new personalization functions even though resulting in poorer profiles, and disabling extra “bad” personalization difficult to find. No wonder latest reviews say that profiles don’t work! Player still doesn’t display album art nor offer a search function, and there is no way to navigate back to album from what’s playing if you have navigated somewhere else while song is playing. Software must be usable and effective before users will accept additional functions, and additional functions must be easily disabled when they are being offered in a test mode.
Sound is inaccurate
by Brandonmbass on 2019/08/09 14:56
This app literally changed the keys of the songs I was listening to without letting me know. Garbage sound output. I played it back and forth with my iTunes sound and it was clearly way worse. The EQ graph was also incredibly inaccurate. Almost +10db of bass barely spoke through the headphones. Tried fiddling with the app to get different results, garbage sound quality. Overall not a good experience. Needs improvement.
Dig it
by kbabb06 on 2019/07/29 00:16
I like the tightened low end(for my ears) on apple earpods!
Sound?
by KaliosX on 2019/07/24 01:53
It sounds like all my songs are playing slow and sound wayyy too deep and slow. I messed around with the settings and couldn't fix it. I have ALACs

Issues with browsing Spotify
by JoeYouKnow19 on 2019/06/14 16:49
I like using this app to equalize my music, but when I want to use it to browse new songs on Spotify, the web connection is hit or miss. Sometimes I will enter an artist into the search bar and I will get results, but other times it doesn’t return any results and I have to restart the app by swiping it away. Other times, I will be scrolling through my songs list, but then I scroll so far down and I get the loading symbol where the songs never actually load. This also requires me to restart the app. I think this app would be much better if the web connections would work consistently.
Don’t bother.
by sordidlucidity on 2019/06/14 01:49
The new update cannot play songs at the correct sample rates, everything is either upsampled or down sampled
Needs refining and Tidal support
by Ozdude|a/c2 on 2019/06/05 02:25
Was looking forward to trying this app after reading about it in Sound and Vision magazine. First issue is complete lack of Tidal support. Given its a premium quality service, it should be a no-brainer. To begin with I've tried the app on Apple ear pods (and spotify hifi) as I have them with me to travel for compactness on a short trip. In their case, the customisation really doesn't add more than a tiny bass boast and I don't like the age adjusted treble, it's too tizzy - I must have young or still well calibrated ears after many years a stereophile lol. I would say I'd possibly try my Focal Spirit Classics with the app next time I travel on a longer trip but the app doesn't even support them, only the Pro version. Mind you I bought those headphones for their fantastic attributes, so I don't know why I'd want to mess around EQing them.
Good but Deceptive
by ATaylorTCA on 2019/05/10 21:36
Sound is better with correction than in iTunes, but the in-app comparison of corrected vs. uncorrected is misleading, if for no other reason than differing volume levels. The louder sound is usually the one perceived as better. Also, the EQ is pretty nasty on the uncorrected version compared to the sound from Apple Music, which leads me to believe they’re hobbling the uncorrected version to boost their correction. I’m noticing the same in the desktop app.
Awesome!

My headphones sounds better now! I have Bose QC35 II
Expensive
by mad snappy on 2019/05/05 03:57
Very expensive app and it doesn’t do much. I expect way more from a 70 dollar app every time I play music, it just skips to the next song and to the next until quit the app. But even after restarting the app still skips it pisses me off.
Really can’t believe I spent $75+ on this.
by ShawnVega.c on 2019/04/24 15:48
I was waiting for this app to come to the mobile platform for a long time. When I originally purchased the app on my MacBook, I wasn’t impressed since I mainly listen to music from my phone. I signed up and purchased the app to get the access to the mobile version. It’s unfortunate that they’ve been working on this all this time for it to turn out as bad as it did.
A little over-sold
by Mike6866 on 2019/03/24 13:47
Great idea for a software solution to fine-tuning mobile sound platform, but it just doesn’t do the trick. I tested it out on a set of Apple AirPods, which had a pre-defined profile in the app. The app goes through a basic setup that asked me to input the headphone make and model, my gender and my age. When I first started the app it also asked me where my music library was located. I pointed it to my AppleMusic library. Then, I went to song selection and had to wait for upwards of 30min to get it to load the song - understandable for a first time use. However, some songs remained inaccessible even after that period of time. I fired up a few songs to play and they sounded a little thin and tilted toward the high end, even though the fine tuning settings of the app indicated that Bass Boost was on. After listening to a couple of selections, I went back to listening songs directly in AppleMusic and, truthfully, they sounded richer, fuller and more satisfying than this app. Will have to much better in order to sell me on it.
Sounds great/needs a lot of work
by MarkJmusic on 2019/03/17 16:19
Love/hate this app. Sound quality 90% of the time is fantastic. Some songs distort however. The app crashes often and won’t load your play lists sometimes having to close and reopen. I know this is a new product and a great company so I look forward to new updates. These frustrations are worth the better sound quality if you are an audio file like me however.
Great concept, needs work
by ZForce72 on 2019/03/17 00:08
I love the idea of this app, and the clarity that it brings out in my apple earpods is amazing, but I think the interface could use a lot of work. Right now, none of my album covers show up, and I just feel like its a super basic-necessities interface; which is fine for now, but in the future, I would like to see presentation be a bit more prioritized. Before going into my big suggestion, one quality of life change I would reccomend is a distance scrubbing speed (when you move your finger farther away from the song time bar, the sensitivity of the time code dot drops and slows down, allowing for more accurate timestamp selection). A user interface that I really like is the one that the app "Tuneshell" uses. If this comment gets to the developers, I'd strongly encourage you to take a page out of that book. It was really easy to use, but it was simplicity done right. This app feels like simpicity done simply, if that makes any sense. Also, the app will sometimes randomly skip songs
Good, but useless everyday...
by Crackbene on 2019/02/20 17:37
...because it doesn’t properly update time stamps for Last Played, so my smart playlists don’t update properly. Audio is great, though.
I REALLY want to like this.
by DanStanley01 on 2019/02/10 03:57
I really want to like this. But I just can’t. I listen a lot with different headphones. AirPods to Shure SE535. The adjustments sound good in theory, but it just doesn’t sound right to me. The overall volume is lower through the app than through Spotify. I can’t find settings to see if they normalize the volume (not just the eq they do). Please can some smarter people look at this and see if this really does sound better.
Great Concept, Needs Apple Music
by JGils33 on 2019/01/29 18:41
The app works great. I mean great. It makes my headphones sound better than I could imagine. But this all means very little to me without a more stable and more appealing Apple Music integration. If that happens, this app would be perfect for me.
Sometimes nice, most of the time nothing but loud distortion
by Petrel48 on 2019/01/25 22:46
On iPhone, iOS 12.1.2. Downloaded AIFF and MP3 files that play fine in iTunes are nothing but noise. On those files where the app works, the sound can be nice. But 3/4 of the time app is useless. And as others have reported, crashes occasionally. And the interface is a mess. Great idea with some significant problems.
Reference 4 is amazing but this...
by Sgkitdcbkvc on 2019/01/25 03:11
Is way too limited and buggy. It won’t even recognize any songs in my library and I don’t have Spotify premium anymore cuz i got apple music so I can’t even try it :/. It needs to be baked into the os, then it would be the best app on the app store hands down. I know that’s apples fault for being so closed off smh
Needs further development
by Jodonny on 2019/01/24 20:34
Love the desktop app, but this needs multiple bugs fixed. Crashes and skips randomly, sometimes freezes, a bit slow, etc. I’m excited to see a more flushed out product because I love the difference in sound.
good but buggy

DSP sounds great, App needs serious work!
by NeuAscension on 2019/01/14 21:34
The DSP Effect makes music sound fantastic, more dynamic, better instrument separation and clarity. I’ll never want to listen to music without this engaged again! ...the app is a nightmare however. Needs a serious UI overhaul and is really buggy, audio drop outs, playback stops, no lock screen functionality. This is definitely on my radar as a killer must have audio app...it’s just not there...yet. Hoping you guys put some serious work in to give this tech the app it deserves. Add Tidal support!!!
No difference
by WouldYouLike2know on 2019/01/13 17:41
The audio on my AirPods sound exactly the same as they do without the app.
Stuttering sound and no audible different
by dsayed on 2019/01/11 21:57
Tried on an iPhone XS, Spotify (with locally downloaded music) and BeatsX Bluetooth headphones. Started off playing ok but then the music started to stutter. I tried the same track in Spotify and that worked ok. As the music was downloaded locally the stutter is not due to the network connection. The personalization allows you to adjust for age, gender and bass enhancement. When I disabled all of these and toggled the processing on and off, I was unable to detect any change in sound. I did load a different headphone profile and noticed a sound change so it is doing something. One could say that the BeatsX are already optimized but looking at the response curve and my experience this is far from the case, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Disappointed
by HoodiesOn on 2019/01/10 09:20
I use Tidal for my music on my iPhone and everywhere else and to find out that you only support Spotify premium and iTunes instead of this being like the systemwide reference on my desktop is disappointing. If you add Tidal support or an overall systemwide audio optimization (if it’s even possible) I’ll be happy to give this a better rating. Until then, it’s pretty useless to me in its current state.
Wonderful but buggy
by Voyageman on 2019/01/10 08:54
Works wonders with V-Moda on desktop and iPhone using Spotify - but still literally shuts down on iPhone after playing a handful of songs. Hopefully will be fixed soo and then deserving of its rightful 5 stars .
This is incredible!
by Baskim on 2019/01/08 19:58
I never trust software modifications of the sound. But, even on my IPhone EarPods, the sound enhancement is so vivid and exciting. I started with an album that I have listened to a lot, Green Day’s American Idiot, and was immediately blown away by the perfectly added mass and the natural vibrancy of the bass.
Force Quits way too much...
by liljboi121490 on 2019/01/08 05:32
This app sounds awesome when it works properly. When I first started the early access to the app, it hardly loaded my downloaded music purchased from iTunes, which the site says it supports. It’s early access, so I didn’t expect a prefect finished product. But recently it will not load any music and if I try to click a song the app force quits and then I have to relaunch the app and wait 10-15 minutes for my library to maybe load 2-3 songs. I can not explain how awesome the sound quality is when it plays, but that’s just it, when it plays.
Love the payback, but the app plays the wrong track
by Mary0577 on 2019/01/07 22:21
I downloaded the app to try it out and it sounds real good. Unfortunately, whatever track I click on results in something else bring played. Also, the app will not find recently purchased find from iTunes.
No media
by joe_ba1 on 2019/01/04 06:37
So far I haven’t found any media available in app. I have iOS 12 iPhone X. It shows my artist and lists playlists and songs but they all say 0 albums or 0 songs. Spotify requires premium I don’t have that
App is broken
by Cyber Studios on 2019/01/01 17:57
App starts and says “trial is over please update”,(haven’t used it yet) then it freezes on that screen.
Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.
by Angry Asian on 2018/12/30 15:46
The first time I used the desktop equivalent of this app. I was listening back to a binaural recording (pair of DPA 4060 and ears) that I did of me playing random stuff on the piano. I remember switching on the profile and all of the sudden the Sony MDR disappeared and I was there in the room again (recording took place just an hour prior) The headphone sounded so transparent I was in shock. (Okay maybe there is some psychoacoustic involved... who knows 💁🏻‍♂️) Fast forward. Just impulse bought the Sony WH-1000x M3. (No profile yet but it looked similar to M2 based on the graph from rtings.com) The dip around 5k on this headphone meant Disappearing dialogue when watching movies and less intelligibility to vocals in music. And you can forget about transients... Never mind the excessive bass. It’s not something the parametric EQ built into the “headphone connect app” from Sony can fix. Then I remembered... I think Sonarworks makes an app for that......... duh! Anyways. Long story short. I love the sound after downloading this app. I might return the headphone and try out the “other” brand. Because you know, ideally you want to get the speaker right first before you try to fix it with EQ. Having said all that, there might be some issues with playback stopping on its own. I need to play with this app a bit more before I report back. iTunes problem is likely apple being difficult.
Unusable on iPad
by Dalianguy on 2018/12/30 12:29
I’m very interested in checking out how this app compares to similar ones I’ve used for years, but ... it crashes right away on every open. Oh, well.
Great Concept, but needs Apple Music
by Co676 on 2018/12/29 04:25
I love Reference 4 and was excited to see this port to iPhone! If the app was functional, I would be very happy with it. Figure out how to bypass the DRM protection for Apple Music and improve the user interface and this app will be great. The audio stuttering that was present upon my first using is now only evident while changing settings in the app. This is much more usable. It would be great if it could somehow be integrated as some sort of audio add-on in the music settings. This would bypass the need for DRM circumvention. That is probably not possible as of this iOS version, but you should lobby for that functionality in a future iOS update.
A bit too alpha, but improvements seem to come quick
by Connor Schwanke on 2018/12/23 20:09
QUIRKS/PROBLEMS • Will only shuffle through songs that start with “A” unless I scroll through the entire list of songs and restart shuffle. Same process needed every time app is rebooted. • Cannot control music via Control Center, Lock Screen, or Bluetooth headphones. • Doesn’t run in the background for long, so if playback is interrupted, you cannot start from where you left off and instead have to repeat the above process. • No Radio portion of Spotify REVIEW Very happy to see this service on the App Store, despite it seeming to be a bit early. They nailed all of the EQ curves for my various types of headphones, so the Sonarworks algorithm is very trustworthy. I recently bought some Sennheisers for bass monitoring despite typically hating the Sennheiser curve. This app easily corrected the severe cut in the 4kHz area and muddy low-mids. For my Grados, the app brought back some body while maintaining the high end detail. They do cheat a bit psychoacoustically by giving a gain increase switching from Bypassed to EQ On. However, A/B-ing between the app and the music app, I found that the EQ curve still seriously checks out. Age adjustment is just a slightly smarter High Shelf that you adjust yourself. Bass boost brought in some distortion, as it is in addition to the EQ curve. I found it unneeded. I’ll be sticking around and hopefully coming back to give 5 stars. Hopefully the devs address the above quirks/problems quickly, and I’ll be waiting patiently for Apple Music, Soundcloud, Tidal, and various radio support.
Earbuds not supported
by REVEL True Wireless on 2018/12/20 00:05
Downloaded the app and couldn’t find my earbuds. Sent several requests and nothing. I finally gave up and uninstalled it. I received an email from support stating that my earbuds had been added, so I tired again and couldn’t find them.
Great potential, needs a little work
by jaredsmithmusic on 2018/12/19 03:35
Have the software on my laptop and it’s incredible, I think if it can catch on and get some accessibility features working, it will be incredibly popular.
Needs some work
by Isaac Graves on 2018/12/17 05:41
First off, the the music doesn’t even shuffle. I’ve been using the software on my computer for a little bit now, and I’m a fan. It’s a good concept for people that want a good music experience with flawed audio devices. The music can stutter at times, there’s no lock screen controls, no control center controls, and the in-line buttons don’t control the music. Has good potential for people that need it, but needs a LOT of work.
I love it!
by scott_borel on 2018/12/15 07:56
Been using the desktop software for a while since I’m a musical artist, and I couldn’t be happier that it’s available on mobile now. Super surprised to find an Apple Earpods profile! Freaking awesome. Thank you guys for this.

This app shouldn't be in the App Store yet. No Apple Music support and crashes.
No Lock Screen Playback Controls. Missing basic functions
by Elvehornacek on 2018/12/13 23:00
Great app! Love that I can now calibrate my in ears in iOS for music listening, but it’s quite hard to use this app specially when driving since there’s no controls when the phone is locked. I have to unlock the iPhone and then go inside the app to access the Spotify library every time. Please improve this and it would make it a better experience for every one.
It won’t load my music library
by iDaddy003 on 2018/12/11 02:30
I’m giving it 1 star because the app simply does not work. I have given it permission to access my Apple Music library and I can see all of the playlist and albums but it says that there is not one single song in my library. The only other option is to sign up for a Spotify premium account which I do not want to do. Completely worthless app. I read some of the other reviews and gave it a day to try and load my library but that did not work either.
Great start
by NerdGuitarist502 on 2018/12/09 13:51
I love the idea of this app, and when it works it’s fantastic. My biggest issue right now is that the sound cuts out every few seconds for any time from just a fraction of a second to a few seconds at a time. When this is happening frequently it’s unlistenable. Fix this and this app is gold.
Impressive
by MSerwin1 on 2018/12/08 23:51
Read an article about this app and was really interested if it could live up to its claims. I was incredibly, pleasantly surprised. I pulled up a song that I know very well and used my Bose QC35II. I compared within the app and then listened in iTunes and the difference was dramatic. Very cool use of tech to unlock the power of different headphone types!

Works Fine With My iOS
by Wacojoe on 2018/12/06 08:02
Meshes my Audio-Technica M50x’s with my once golden ears with my 75 year-old ones. Snares actually sound like snares. The only “but” I’ve found so far are tracks I copied from vinyl in high bit-rate, which were produced in defining static and ones I had monkeyed with in GarageBand.
Doesn’t work

Cannot access my downloaded Apple Music or downloaded iTunes music.
Revised review
by Dr. B1104 on 2018/12/05 21:00
When I select my iTunes library as the music source, it shows the names of playlists, artists, albums, and songs but they appear as empty files. ........ Revised review. It must take time for the app to collect the information it needs from the iTunes library. After going away for 15 minutes retrying , it found my music and working as advertised. I’m using Bose QC 35 with noise reduction enabled. The sound is better with a nice boost in my age related frequencies.
Can work, but still very beta right now
by Deimo on 2018/12/05 18:58
I appreciate what Sonarworks is trying to do here, the Audio-Technica M70x profile alone makes these normally shrill, bass-less cans useful for picking out mix elements based on the actual mix instead of the headphone’s build quirks. When it works, it’s great. That said, the player side of things need a LOT of work for performance. The browsers for apple and Spotify are slow and buggy. I’ve only been using it for an hour, and I’ve had to re-launch the app twice, once when searching for an artist on Spotify while playing another artist, another time I started searching for another artist and got sent to the app permissions page to reconnect Spotify. Once I did, I was sent to a blank page where I couldn’t do anything but quit the app again. Neither browser path (Music or Spotify) properly fetches info inside. Say for music, I can play my music by going through the directory as normal, but according to the browser at the start, none of these folders contain any music. Songs only appear in the list when you physically play a song inside that folder. Until then it displays “0 albums • 0 songs” for each folder. The Spotify side eventually populated the song amounts for playlists, but playing songs on the stream can cause the songs to play with no artwork. It would be a good idea to write some code that prioritizes fetching the artwork of a currently playing song over any any artwork being fetched in the background. Currently 6m30s into a 8m30s deadmau5 and still no artwork fetched. I don’t know why the artwork is never fetched in the iTunes media folder, but that one I assume is Apple being stingy with developer access. There’s also an issue where you try to open an iTunes playlist and run into a blank page, with no notification of if this is an error or not. Another frustration is the non-unified feel of the browser, there’s no standardized way to move between the two libraries(local/streaming), you have to remember which tab is the right one to return to the local/streaming. In the time I’ve typed this review up, the music on Spotify has ran without issue, so I really think this succeeding or not is getting all the UX issues ironed out. If no one in-house knows how to do it in a timely manner, hiring a UX designer programmer with solid UX skills most of the gripes I noted. I’d really like to see this succeed, so I hope the bugs get consistently squashed the longer this is out. 12-5-2018

by Zakibudek on 2018/12/05 15:19
No songs listed in local iTunes library. Their support says that they don’t support songs bought through iTunes, only songs manually downloaded to the device. With all the streaming services available, who manually manages their music these days? Skip it.
Not worth the download

Honestly not worth the download. Does not work with either of the two music choices, you simply can’t play any music. Which defeats the purpose
Reference Sound
by JatcHatc on 2018/12/05 14:11
So the limited apps this works with is a negative. However the app does apply a neutral sound quality to reference quality headphones and I would assume to entry level cans and buds as well. Most people are acclimated to a V tuned sound field for their listening pleasure so I’m guessing most will not like this app. That being said the app is definitely in beta stage.

A fresh perspective on mobile audio fidelity
by Wellreadflud on 2018/12/05 04:08
The experience parallels wearing prescription glasses for the first time. Headphone sound signatures are unique. Select your headphone model in the app and it will apply a tailored EQ to your audio signal. 4/5 because the interface is occasionally buggy, but delivers on its primary purpose.
So far so good.
by Octoberskyy on 2018/12/05 03:19
At first I wasn’t sure this app was going to work because it wasn’t connecting to my Spotify account properly. The feature to connect is buggy. I had to copy the link and open it in another browser that wasn’t Safari to get it to work properly. Once I connected to my Spotify premium account it worked great. So far my experience is great with this app. The sound quality seems really nice. I’m excited to see what it brings.
Failure
by Die_Fledermaus on 2018/12/05 02:58
While it finds my headphones and builds a profile. It sort of finds my iTunes and can find some of my downloaded music. Also I can find no way to search for music you seem to have to scroll through your entire library. This is true beta software.

by Kendal0 on 2018/12/05 01:13
Using this with AirPods and it does makes them sound better after tweaking the bass down a bit. Since it changes the mix in your ears well known music sounds different and somewhat better. The bass setting on the personalize pages gets lots of us as some albums need it and others don’t. Give it a try, you may like it! Note, still a bit buggy and in need of further updates. It shows that my albums are empty one one screen them shows and plays all tracks on the next.

Initial Impressions Positive
by MadisonWisc on 2018/12/04 19:30
My initial impressions are positive. I have hearing loss and it’s difficult to create a good sound with the iPhone. This app allows for age adjustment which I can tune to my hearing abilities to increase the high frequencies while optimizing the sound for my Bose headphones. I look forward to further development with this app.

by Awesome app 554472 on 2018/12/04 19:03
I rate the app 4 stars because I know how amazing Sonarworks is, but the app has a major flaw, which is importing music. I was impressed to see that it bypassed DRM protection and actually let you see your Apple Music library, but I can’t play any songs! The songs just don’t show up. I cannot rate the rest of the app unfortunately because I haven’t been able to use it.

Not quite there, but hopefully in a future update.

Impressive
by MSerwin1 on 2018/12/08 23:51
Read an article about this app and was really interested if it could live up to its claims. I was incredibly, pleasantly surprised. I pulled up a song that I know very well and used my Bose QC35II. I compared within the app and then listened in iTunes and the difference was dramatic. Very cool use of tech to unlock the power of different headphone types!
Great start
by NerdGuitarist502 on 2018/12/09 13:51
I love the idea of this app, and when it works it’s fantastic. My biggest issue right now is that the sound cuts out every few seconds for any time from just a fraction of a second to a few seconds at a time. When this is happening frequently it’s unlistenable. Fix this and this app is gold.

I love how the mids become more present with the AirPods. BUT.... when using Spotify as the source, I swear the stream sounds like 96kbs. Definitely a bummer, because there’s a lot of potential with this app.
Great when it works

Awesome!

Expensive
by mad snappy on 2019/05/05 03:57
Very expensive app and it doesn’t do much.

Needs some work
by Isaac Graves on 2018/12/17 05:41
First off, the the music doesn’t even shuffle. I’ve been using the software on my computer for a little bit now, and I’m a fan. It’s a good concept for people that want a good music experience with flawed audio devices. The music can stutter at times, there’s no lock screen controls, no control center controls, and the in-line buttons don’t control the music. Has good potential for people that need it, but needs a LOT of work.
I love it!
by scott_borel on 2018/12/15 07:56

Meshes my Audio-Technica M50x’s with my once golden ears with my 75 year-old ones. Snares actually sound like snares. The only “but” I’ve found so far are tracks I copied from vinyl in high bit-rate, which were produced in defining static and ones I had monkeyed with in GarageBand.

Reference Sound

So the limited apps this works with is a negative. However the app does apply a neutral sound quality to reference quality headphones and I would assume to entry level cans and buds as well. Most people are acclimated to a V tuned sound field for their listening pleasure so I’m guessing most will not like this app. That being said the app is definitely in beta stage.
No way to play music

Off that bat, my music sounds worse in the app with processing disabled than in the Music app! It’s adding it’s EQ to pre-worsened audio. Turned on, my vocally bright Sennheiser 598 CS’ didn’t magically become flat, they became brighter, even with age compensation off. Why can’t you turn the treble boost into negative range?

Makes a difference!
by Kendal0 on 2018/12/05 01:13
Using this with AirPods and it does makes them sound better after tweaking the bass down a bit.

Not quite there, but hopefully in a future update.
by Awesome app 554472 on 2018/12/04 19:03
I rate the app 4 stars because I know how amazing Sonarworks is, but the app has a major flaw, which is importing music. I was impressed to see that it bypassed DRM protection and actually let you see your Apple Music library, but I can’t play any songs! The songs just don’t show up. I cannot rate the rest of the app unfortunately because I haven’t been able to use it.

Not quite there, but hopefully in a future update.

Impressive
by MSerwin1 on 2018/12/08 23:51
Read an article about this app and was really interested if it could live up to its claims. I was incredibly, pleasantly surprised. I pulled up a song that I know very well and used my Bose QC35II. I compared within the app and then listened in iTunes and the difference was dramatic. Very cool use of tech to unlock the power of different headphone types!
Great start
by NerdGuitarist502 on 2018/12/09 13:51
I love the idea of this app, and when it works it’s fantastic. My biggest issue right now is that the sound cuts out every few seconds for any time from just a fraction of a second to a few seconds at a time. When this is happening frequently it’s unlistenable. Fix this and this app is gold.

Reference Sound
by JatcHatc on 2018/12/05 14:11
So the limited apps this works with is a negative. However the app does apply a neutral sound quality to reference quality headphones and I would assume to entry level cans and buds as well. by Jodonny on 2019/01/24 20:34

I was waiting for this app to come to the mobile platform for a long time. When I originally purchased the app on my MacBook, I wasn’t impressed since I mainly listen to music from my phone. I signed up and purchased the app to get the access to the mobile version. It’s unfortunate that they’ve been working on this all this time for it to turn out as bad as it did.

by Petrel48 on 2019/01/25 22:46

And as others have reported, crashes occasionally. And the interface is a mess. Great idea with some significant problems.
