As long as you’re willing to pay for the features, this is the best way to go.

Loveee Squarespace! My blog/website is beautiful thanks to them 😍 I had the pleasure of being invited to come in to their NYC Headquarters for a lunch to discuss the new app a couple of months ago! THE best customer service 💕 I have had my website with them for many years since starting my business!! Feel free to check it out at seamsofasocialite.com

Unresponsive App
by BetseyvilleGirl on 2020/12/30 02:08
I’ve deleted other apps, closed out of everything, and still can’t get the app to respond. I can edit like 1 thing, and then all of a sudden none of the menus will respond. love Squarespace, but the app needs some work.
Awesome for mobile editing.
by TNTplantcity on 2020/12/27 10:22
Everything is awesome. Only bug that is annoying: is when I’m adding tags via my iPhone to my store products, it freezes the app entirely. Seams to happen when the tag is to long for the current line it’s on but only after you press enter.
This app is amazing
by ssuser1995 on 2020/12/22 19:26
Like my review says it’s amazing. Super easy to use, no glitches, in some ways even better than editing on desktop. Did not expect it to be so great for a mobile app
Absolutely Awful
by KenEdSee on 2020/12/22 15:15
I can’t write or edit email blasts to my subscribers. I’m so frustrated. It isn’t like it would be a complicated task to make that the process of writing, editing, and sending emails mirror the website. Ridiculous waste of time. I never write reviews. For this, I will. SS, get your act together. Fix this app. Giving me another reason to look elsewhere for my website...
Whyyyy
by britgo on 2020/12/22 02:27
Whyyyy cant we go offline so this can be used as a portfolio to present. Bring back the portfolio app!
Good basic functionality, bad add-ons, no customer service
by Kemptmilner on 2020/12/21 18:53
Handy for building a quick website. All the other add-ons are rather poor in comparison to their competition. Very minimal customer support.
Uploading images using app
by @Tam40 on 2020/12/21 02:42
Very frustrating how it doesn’t allow me to upload images using the app.
This app has improved immensely over time!
by lndsyydn on 2020/12/15 06:00
This app has improved immensely over time! Very easy to figure out quickly on iPad – especially if you're already familiar using the Desktop/browser version. Feels like an Adobe-Quality application. 🤙
Fantasticly easy to work with
by 55mt55 on 2020/12/08 00:26
I love how user friendly it is. How well it looks on all devices.
So useless
by desdata on 2020/12/04 01:24
Running this app on ipad pro. nothing works right. fields arent selectable, simple functions like editing text dont work. Seriously so useless without a desktop.
Too glitchy.
by 481292 on 2020/11/21 00:38
There are so many glitches in this app. I’ve sent countless emails to Squarespace about it and I get the same responses on a loop, restart the app, restart my phone, we’ll send this to the developers. But none of the issues have been fixed and there hasn’t even been an update for two months now. It’s really frustrating trying to use this app when you have work to do. I have to toggle between the mobile version on safari or chrome and the app and because they’re both pretty terrible, it’s almost impossible to get much work done without a computer, which can’t always be brought along. That’s the whole purpose of the app but it continues to let me down. It’s even more frustrating because this isn’t a free service, I pay a lot to be able to do my work and can’t. The time wasted writing this could be spent writing my content but I can’t edit my work on the app so here I am. One year later: same glitches, same work and progress being lost and wasted trying with this app. One MORE year later: now you can no longer use the mobile version to do edits. They force you to go to the app. This is BULLSH*T. Fix this app or give me my money back. I’m sick of it.
Yikes
by Acadia Acadia on 2020/11/19 03:06
From links not uploading properly to pages, to product categories never showing up. Now collaboration is a nightmare. The how to pages are full of click this and that, never tells you where those items are on the page. this site builder doesn’t even recognize I’ve upgraded my account. I can only link footer pages to blocks on my homepage, which is where my products should link up to. My “shop” button won’t hold any categories for products, so all of my items are on the same page and completely disorganized. Customer service is almost non existent. Having a really annoying experience.
Always a win
by Man in a White House on 2020/11/16 17:38
I’ve been working with Squarespace for years. I highly recommend their website building services because of ease and modern design. Thankful for them and how I can serve my clients well with their product.
Having problems
by Zitteraalnduennebier on 2020/11/16 14:51
All three Squarespace apps on IPad having been giving me trouble. Uploading images requires me to close-out the app completely multiple times for it to access my images again. Also renaming images has a weird lag, you need to type a word wait for it to register and then type another (don’t type too fast SS can’t handle it!).
Can’t do hardly anything from the app
by farrellenoble on 2020/11/14 18:46
I bought an iPad to make my life easier. Was psyched to try the SquareSpace app. To my surprise, I found you can’t really do anything from the app. Any time I try to edit anything on my website, the app tells me to go use the desktop version to edit the page. If I wanted to use my desktop, I’d use my desktop. Supposedly Wix is more user friendly on mobile devices, I’ll be taking my business there instead.
How do I get a refund?
by sorrybruhs on 2020/11/12 20:38
Not feeling the app at all. It’s not clear what functionality it has with what level of subscription you’re at. Couldn’t link my domain. Wish I hadn’t paid for this, would like a refund.
Everything is bugging
by kittenk97 on 2020/11/10 16:03
I’m really not sure how I’m supposed to set up my website when the only access I have is through my iPad and iPhone and on both mobile browser and app keeps bugging All of the columns move so far to the right that I can’t read what they say nor am I able to click on them to find out. Very laggy very buggy and time consuming to work around 🤦🏻‍♀️

Worthless app
by HughGMurphy on 2020/10/28 01:58
Incredibly frustrating to try to make changes to my Squarespace website using the app. Most things require you to go to the web login on my desktop machine which is a total pain and definitely hampers my ability to run my small business website.
Lacks access to all parts of site on the app.
by Woman owned business on 2020/10/27 01:27
Squarespace is a great resource for those looking to design beautiful websites. But, the app could be more robust.
Useless
by D linn on 2020/10/22 02:27
Hopeless and unusable. Used to be a great platform
Awful
by rome4112 on 2020/10/17 11:26
Investing time and energy in Squarespace is a huge regret. Squarespace doesn’t offer very fundamental analytics and web hosting capabilities. It’s customer support is unprofessional and not useful. The new interface is convoluted and hard to use. The company in general, treats paying customers poorly and it’s marketing is dishonest. It’s competitors offer better features, and at better prices.
YOU CANNOT WRITE AN EMAIL WITH THIS APP
by Coliopsis on 2020/10/15 14:47
I can't begin to tell you the hours I've wasted trying to write email newsletters for my subscribers with this app. I switched to an ipad a few months ago and literally everything else I do (email, photo editing, writing, design) is totally easy, but Squarespace's apps are absolutely the worst I've encountered. Hello Squarespace, you need to fix this! If you're going to sell people websites and email services, they need to work across all your platforms!
Could’ve been great
by HP HARRY POTTER on 2020/10/08 19:01
Honestly this could be a great app but when I save my changes, it gets rid of them, I try to delete something, doesn’t work. There are many more issues. Also when I put in a link it just deletes it. This could’ve been an amazing app but it doesn’t work. You can’t even upload it as a website.

Outages costing me money
by Ruby192837465 on 2020/10/01 15:16
I discontinued using another company in hopes of improvement but this site is down so often, I don’t know if I made the right choice. Autumn is my money making time of year and if people can’t access my site and get errors because it won’t load, what’s the point of being with Squarespace??????
Trash
by RarianaGrariande on 2020/09/26 09:46
Nothing more frustrating than learning that the subscription you’ve paid for has been completely neutered by the fact that the website editor IS NOT COMPATIBLE with my Surface pro because of its touch screen. Insult to injury? The mobile site editor is broken too! Overlapping widgets and rigid scrolling with some content blocks being completely uneditable for no apparent reason. How are you allowed to charge for this? Support has not been able to help me with these issues on either device, and have refused to process a refund. Go use readymag instead.
Way too complicated
by squarewaste on 2020/09/25 01:50
Way too complicated and time consuming there is absolutely no telephone support.I just hope they do not charge me.
Not happy about having to use this app!
by LisaMCarey on 2020/09/24 00:51
I use to be able to get online (from my phone) and edit my events. Now I have to use this app and it won’t publish. FAQs and instructions state to “hover over Done.” Ummm? You can’t hover on a phone. And if there is an answer to this that I’m not seeing, why is it not easier to find and more intuitive (like on the same page when I’m editing)? Not happy about this app. My site renews next month and I’m thinking about closing it over this.

Lame and Ironic
by Gentrify01 on 2020/08/26 10:58
This app is constantly crashing, and barely ever loads fully. I only recommend it if your goal is to have a highly frustrating experience. The only thing you can do is edit text. No ability to add or delete videos or photos. I find it ironic that a company that has one job, to help people design websites, has one of the worst apps I’ve ever used.
New to web design
by md717 on 2020/08/25 22:14
I am new to any website making platform, and SS makes it relatively easy to learn. However, I cannot afford to fix my macbook right now and am depending on my iPad Air to get my done... So far the website is looking awesome. BUT, the app is very laggy— it will just stop responding or I can’t click to edit so I’ll have to clear the app and restart it. Not to mention there are countless things I am unable to do with the app which is incredibly frustrating. I’ll work on a block and go back later to edit only to see it is now an “unsupported block.” For how much money this costs, it would have been nice to know I can’t even use all of its features on my device.
Frustrating
by Wakingupowls on 2020/08/18 15:05
I love Squarespace, I recently started working from an iPad Pro, the app is okay but has a lot of bugs. From trying to load some of my sites to editing. It’s close, but still needs a lot of work especially in the site edit section. Can’t access important menus because of the UI like changing the background and such.
I hate Shaw Academy
by thissucksonice21 on 2020/08/15 11:32
They refuse to refund me after they took 69 dollars out of my account for a subscription I didn’t choose. And when I asked for a refund because they took every dime I had and overdrew my account, they still didn’t do anything. Never again. It’s a rip off. They say the course is free and then they take your money.
The best.
by xojamie on 2020/08/15 05:37

Regretted it once I purchased it
by Thegirlthatrocks on 2020/08/15 02:37
Once I purchased it, I completely regretted it, it’s so glitchy, it had hidden fees once I paid for a plan and I couldn’t get a refund, I cancelled on the same day and got robbed 28 dollars, complete garbage, squarespace likes to seem like its user friendly and easy with all the simple pictures and aesthetics but it’s not, things get confusing and frustrating, till you realized you spent an hour being confused, such a waste of time and MONEY, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY.
Beware of New Templates
by Dat boi00999 on 2020/08/13 17:42
Even though the app shows you new templates (version 7.1), you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FULLY EDIT your site from just the app. If plan on adding and removing pictures from the app, use older templates.
Links Cannot Be Edited
by Ya Yev on 2020/08/12 18:47
Just says unable to render component. There is literally no option to even type a link. Update: I already contacted support and they said this feature does not work. Also there is no way to insert buttons in general. This lacks so many basic features.
Editing Page Feature Not Working
by Jordaneric499 on 2020/08/10 15:49
I was planning to use square space to create a photography page but while I was editing, it kicked me off and wouldn’t letter me edit anymore after that. I’m just glad I was on the trail and didn’t purchase yet. Would love to continue to use but won’t until this is fixed.
Squarespace for the Win
by basham57 on 2020/08/07 13:13
Don’t tell anyone...I’m a senior designer at a WordPress agency, but off the clock I create all my personal and freelance websites with Squarespace. It’s fun for designers like me and all my clients love how easy it is!

by New York Times! on 2020/08/01 20:28
Squarespace is amazing but mobile needs more editing tools.
Not great
by BonnieRue on 2020/07/26 05:13
With the update I lost the ability to insert links on my website. Never had an issue with it before but after contacting customer service it seems this is just an issue I will have to learn to live with. If you ever anticipate traveling and wanting to manage your website from the convenience of your iPad I would not choose Squarespace. You will not be able to fully edit it through your web browser or the app. Very frustrating.

Sooo faaarrrr soooo goood
by Midnight1001001 on 2020/07/08 23:33
So far so good. I saw a few comments saying te app wasn’t all that good when it came down to touching up your website on the fly. I’m using the iPhone X and so far I have no problem and have full functionality as if I was on the website. Although I am only doing Minsk thingslike changing text and what not.
Worst App
by sjtryon on 2020/07/05 17:54
Unbelievably annoying app. This app takes what should be a two minute process (adding a post to a blog) and turns it into an afternoon process. Tags, Categories, & other settings...good luck finding them without first saving as a draft and then pulling up the menu. Add tags...plan to scroll through the unsorted list to tap them off. Don’t even think about typing a few letters to find the tags you want. And on it goes. They provided wysiwyg, but in the process, complicated the entire process of working with your site. It’s far easier to just not use the app and do everything once you have the opportunity to get to your desktop computer. I really expected better from the Squarespace team. I would doubt any of them use this app.

Not tablet compatible
by Liv-G on 2020/06/16 22:57
I was just looking to adjust my workflow by downloading the app on my ipad so i wouldn't have to reupload images to my computer then on the sote, but editing what I already have seems impossible on there. I just wanted to rearrange my gallery but following the instructions on squarespace did nothing. I cant “tap and hold” bc it doesn't register im trying to move a block or in the block. It also puts a caption block on the top of my screen that follows me so i cant get around it which is visually annoying. The squarespace videos for moving images also only does the computer version, not mobile or tablet commands.
Can no longer make a blog post...
by chri5dub12 on 2020/06/15 01:36
Update: The typing issues seem to be related to the new Apple Magic Keyboard. You have to use your finger to tap in the text box to be able to start typing. Please optimize this app for the Magic Keyboard. I’ve been away from Squarespace for a while. I set up a new site via Squarespace for a tech blog and I noticed the old Blog app is no longer there. So I got directed to use this Squarespace app. Now, I cannot type within a new “post”, I can only create titles. Please give us the blog app back :( Chris presscross.com

It’s getting worse
by A Musician on 2020/06/01 18:26
A previous version of this app was cumbersome and glitchy, but I could use it to make cursory updates to my site. A new version renders it useless. I can’t even add new photos to existing galleries. Some of the buttons don’t even respond when I tap them. Device is an iPad pro. I contacted support last week and never heard back. Bummer. This is the only negative part of the Squarespace experience for me, but it’s a significant detractor.

Second review and it should be a half star
by shindoverse on 2020/05/26 15:28
I still can’t use the app to blog from my iOS devices (iPhone, iPad). I have written a review before addressing this issue and I had a few support tickets on Squarespace directly to address the complaint. None of the support personnel seem to really listen to the problems stated by their customers. If they do, whatever is said doesn’t seem to get passed on to the developers. The last time I went through the support line, the first support person gave me what can be found on the support page for web-based issues. After I mentioned he failed to give me an appropriate answer to my complaint, I was then given another person who tried to address the app issues. However, the problems still remain and no deleting and reinstalling the app will solve it. All I want from this complaint and the going directly to Squarespace’s support is for this issue to be fixed. I should not be forced to use my computer if you offer this app for my devices. Before you decided to streamline the Squarespace app, you had a perfectly good blogging app. Don’t tell me to go to support again. Please listen to this and fix your bugs. Because I am ready to cancel my account. I don’t want to do this because I do like the website I created with your tools. However, I will not want to continue using Squarespace if it is too hard to use. Especially if the tools you provide make it impossible.

Unfortunately, the current version won’t let me see chat conversations with the support team. I’m trying to fix something with my site and the support team responded (yay!) but I have no idea what they said. I’m finding the whole app experience completely frustrating. And... why can I see my help tickets on my website? If it’s an app only thing, it should work.

I have had so many issues with writing my blogs in this app. It’s slow, closes out of things, won’t allow me to upload with the grid. This app will not recognize my account and password. I recently HAD to change the password to a new one and now “they” tell me it’s NFG! I request a link to change it AGAIN and NO email is sent. I’ve been using it for years. Have the Russians or the GOP taken it over?
AMAZING

I love the convenience Squarespace has to offer! Would love to sponsor Squarespace on my photography account @sierrasphoto__ on Instagram!
LOVE ❤️ It but ...
by adv2k169 on 2020/03/11 16:22
I have been wanting a full scale Squarespace app for years and with this we finally we got it . I am on iPhone 8+ and it runs so smooth and fast and I can do essentially anything that I can do on desktop. It’s interface is simple and works well. The issues : 1) I cannot change picture file names . This is critical for SEO and it’s crappy that I can’t do it on the go. In early versions of this app I could but not now. I even used iPad version and it always gives a glitch . 2) I cannot make new tags / categories in the mobile app (iPhone or iPad) . This is also huge for SEO . I can select ones that I made before but I cannot make new ones from scratch .
Now I can edit my calendar!
by FaderCrusader on 2020/03/06 04:16
The main feature I was looking for in an app is finally here. It’s nice to be able to edit my entire site from my phone, but the only page I edit very regularly is the calendar. I’m so happy I no longer need to be using a desktop to add events!
Great when it works
by grhafer30 on 2020/03/06 02:57
But not when it doesn’t.
Really really slow,odd UI
by Jem Wong on 2020/03/05 20:03
I miss the old discontinued Squarespace Blog app, simple and easy to use. They now force you to use this one which provides so many features that I’d barely use or just find it easier to do on PC. I hate that the big title text box overlaps the main content text box, not to mention all the loading time you have to wait. It’s really a test for my patience. I’m sad how square space has become. Be simple, be simple, be simple.
Billing
by a-znope on 2020/03/01 15:01
Would like to be able to deal with billing on the fly rather than signing into the website. App doesn’t allow for billing updates/changes.
Terrible scam can’t cancel subscription

No customer support and can’t cancel subscription had to call my bank and black list them. Ridiculous I’m so angry. Don’t download
Where’s my offline portfolio?
by stylee on 2020/02/19 17:26
This is a horrible replacement for The SQUARESPACE portfolio app. How am I meant to show my book to people without WiFi now? This is lame.
I’m trying to get a sponsor
by DiscoloredWatermelon on 2020/02/19 02:23
I started my YouTube channel about half a year ago and Im still very small and I want to get into sponsoring and this application seems very intriguing so If you guys are down I’ll try to do it so tell me if you can can’t or don’t want to it will be fine.
Reviews made me do it
by Nothing to really do on 2020/02/17 08:38
I was going to use this for my business, but due to the amount of negative responses and a lack of responses from the developer, I decided to go somewhere else. I don’t want to put my time into something I’ll regret in the long run.
I’ve fallen in love with Squarespace again!
by Integrix on 2020/02/15 05:54
Very impressed. This app does everything one should expect—and more—when “on the go.” Thank you, Squarespace, for making this marketer’s life easier!
Underwhelming and buggy
by zzzsportsfan on 2020/02/12 05:58
I wish I could like this app because I would really love the ability to update my site from my phone. But every time I open the app I’m quickly reminded of its limitations. For example, you can’t edit an event from the app. Really? Another example, when I have a summary block, I cannot change what gallery it displays. It allows me to change it, but then the change never occurs. Similarly, it looks like I can alter the tag filtering the gallery, but that doesn’t work either. Both of these features work on the desktop product, but not from mobile. It looks like you can edit these things, but when you try to save them they NEVER SAVE! Super frustrating. Stop pretending to have functionality that doesn’t work!
Upload new images from the TOP
by IeiSekssmdksismsjsk on 2020/02/11 00:45
Using this app to update my website wouldn’t be such a pain in my rear if every new image I upload to my gallery appeared at the top and not the bottom. I have to drag each one to the top. How has this not been addressed yet?! People see most recent images first when they visit websites. For Christ’s sakes.
Love it, but do want cover page options back!
by Villaltayc on 2020/02/07 18:46
That’s just about it, love the ease of use and interface.
Buggy
by G3minike on 2020/02/01 14:13

Waaaay Better
by OnlyDavid on 2018/12/13 01:40
It is so ironic that SquareSpace works so hard to make sure webpages display correctly on any size display: phones, tablets, or desktops, yet, editing SquareSpace webpages in anything less than a desktop device with mouse or trackpad doesn’t work. Forget about trying to maintain a webpage from your cellphone. There have been a few SquareSpace iOS apps like “Blog”, but they were pretty rudimentary missing many features you depend upon. With this app, you can now create new pages, add entries and edit entries in events and blogs, and even rearrange your webpage and menu items. You still need the SquareSpace “Commerce” and “Analytics” app to see how your webpage is doing. And there’s still no way to see donations. Or export donations and orders to a spreadsheet. But, now when someone calls me and says I need to change something immediately, I don’t have to rush back to a desktop computer to make that change.
Why?
by AaronCobra on 2019/05/08 08:27
I’m happy for those that enjoy this app, but for the life of me I don’t understand why Squarespace thought this was going to be a replacement for the discontinued Portfolio App. That app was beautiful and served a function for us photographers, designers and whomever else that needed to show their work offline. Whenever I do get a response about why they decided to do this, it’s the same copy and paste answer that makes no sense. Basically saying the portfolio app was discontinued because this new app allows you to edit your website, like that has absolutely nothing to do with why the app is gone. If this app didn’t exist, I could still edit my website on my desktop, no problem, but with the portfolio app now gone I have to create a whole new way of showing off my work to potential clients. If I didn’t pay for this service, I wouldn’t care. I would just move on.. but this is something lots of us used and need and a lot of us only used Squarespace for that functionality. I really don’t understand. I wish someone from Squarespace would actually answer this like a human and not cut and paste a generic answer that gives us no hope on if the app will return.
From hmmm to wow
by Treasi on 2020/02/01 07:44
I remember when this app use to be ... not so useful (to be polite), so I stopped using using it - it was like an empty shell of an app. But after a few years break (I’ve been a long term squarespace customer), I tentatively re-downloaded it and have been so impressed by how it’s evolved and what I can do inside! The app is really well designed and easy to use. Considering its working on a small screen, it also doesn’t feel like a I’m going to make a mistake and accidentally bump a button that publishes it live when I’m. It ready. So it feels ‘safe’ to use over the desktop editing. Thanks team!
Does not Work with iPad Pro 3rd Gen.
by Kikyosdragon on 2019/01/31 02:53
So, I brought this New iPad Pro 3rd Gen to replace my old MacBook Pro. I found I don;t really need a laptop or even MacBook. This ipad does everything I need it to do except being able to edit my website’s footers which have my business hours on it. That being said. I have contacted apple and it is not on there end. I am not even able to edit my footers in Safari much less this joke of a website manager. I have also tried contacting Squarespace Support and all I get is an email back days later explaining that they built the app for iPhones not iPads. Okay not sure who made that call but alrighty then. May question is why can’t I even edit the footers though Safari at the vary least?? It wouldn’t even work when I click “Request Desktop Site”. It will not Scroll to the bottom of a page in Safari in the Squarespace website account and building pages... This is a real problem for me as I no longer have my old computer and now I must borrow a computer to be a edit my website. I will change the rating and delete this review once this is addressed and fixed.
Used to love it
by cimino521 on 2020/01/11 14:38
I feel taken advantage of and lied to by Squarespace. I used to love SS and so, I’ve been a loyal customer for many years. About a year ago or 2 I noticed they changed their pricing plans so I switched to a less expensive one. Only to find out that this included a sneaky new 3% (on top of the stripe fee!) fee for all commerce sales. When I attempted to switch back to my old plan that had no fee I was told I couldn’t, no exceptions and my once grandfathered in plan for being a loyal customer was now null and void. This is not how I would like to be treated being a long term client. I understand I made a mistake and will now read the fine print more slowly but I am a long term customer, I am an artist, please treat me as an individual and not as one in a heard of sheep. If they switch me back to my grandfathered in business plan without the 3% transaction fee I would be a happy camper. Until then, I’m very unhappy with them and plan on one day switching to another provider that doesn’t take a chunk of small artists’ earnings without stating in large print first.
Bug-infested with minimal functionality
by Cameron0208 on 2020/01/30 06:13
Squarespace is not good with mobile. Period. The mobile website is awful. The mobile app is awful. The number of m bugs that keep on piling up and make the app nearly unusable is ridiculous. For instance, when clicking to add, let’s say a page, that the pop-over that comes up is almost completely off the screen. The number of things you just CAN’T do in the app render it almost pointless. My personal favorite is the fact that the devs can’t seem to figure out how sliders work. Good lord. The bug has existed for months. Go to Design > Site Styles and try dragging a slider. Just TRY. Something so basic, yet these devs can’t figure it out. I would like the devs to inform me on how or why I’m supposed to trust SS - who can’t figure out mobile design AT ALL - for my site? Doesn’t give me a lot of faith for my mobile site when the site that it’s made on can’t figure out mobile sites themselves.
Read the offers before purchasing!
by SallyCheese on 2019/08/26 16:42
This is more a review of the site itself than the app. I’ve never started a site or purchased a domain, so I was really lost when I started this. When you purchase an annual plan you get a free domain, but that wasn’t clear to me so I purchased a domain up front and then a monthly plan when I realized that just buying a domain wouldn’t allow me to publish my website through Squarespace. So I asked customer service to give me a credit for the domain that I *just* purchased (because had I known, I would have just bought the annual plan). They would not allow me to upgrade to the annual plan and credit me for the domain. I’ve also clicked around the site extensively and it’s not easy to use for inexperienced website developers— I’ll need help from a friend to navigate starting my site, that is, if I continue with Squarespace after their unfair policy.
No iPad version?
by Antoni Deighton on 2019/01/11 18:10
Squarespace: I love your platform. I’ve been using it for years. The only limitation has been that sometimes I’ll need to wait till I’m back at my desktop before implementing a change that was discussed during a meeting. I’m thrilled that there is now an iOS version. But not optimized for iPad? Really? How likely is it that I will be making changes to my brand story via my phone? Many of us use iPad’s with external keyboards as much as our desktop/laptops if not as our primary work tool #iPadOnly. So even though we can open it on our iPads, it is positioned in portrait mode, while our keyboards are optimized for landscape mode. This is a problem for me, and I’m sure I’m not unique. What UX research did you do to that lead you to optimize for iPhone? Seems like I’ll still be waiting till I’m back at my desktop before implementing changes.
You can’t do ANYTHING with this app
by Brittanie D on 2019/07/27 17:36
I used to be able to at least add events to my calendar and posts to my blog via the iOS apps available through SquareSpace. Now they have this new app that literally does nothing... I can’t edit anything, I can’t add events, I can’t add photos to my gallery, I literally have to be at home on my computer to update my website in any capacity. I liked having 4 apps for SquareSpace before this was developed with the ability to DO SOMETHING as opposed to a single streamlined app that lets me do nothing to my website what so ever. Also, this has been a complaint of this app since it’s launch months ago and SquareSpace still has not addressed these issues. That’s a problem in itself. When you’re getting feedback about your product, do something about it, or be left in the dust by your competitors. Terrible app, fix SOON please.
Quite useful!
by Isha Chirimar on 2019/01/11 21:12
This app is super useful for running my blog - I often find myself opening my laptop to make small scheduling changes for posts, and edit typos out. This makes it easier to do small things like that on the go. However, it does take quite a few clicks to get to scheduling posts and stuff like that - if there was a way to make that process a little easier, and maybe customize what appears on the homepage (shortcuts for frequently accessed features?) that would be extremely helpful. Overall, really awesome app though!
Finally! I Can Edit My Website With My iPhone
by Shrugger in Cotati on 2018/12/26 01:12
I travel full-time, and the only reason that I’ve kept my Mac is that I couldn’t edit my Squarespace website on iOS. My Mac died last week, and I found this app while doing a hail-Mary search of the App Store in hopes of finding a way to move exclusively to iOS. And then I found THIS. I expected a poor implementation that involved pick lists and being forced to drill down for features, but instead, the interface mostly works like the website. I drag blocks onto a blank page, just as with the website. Accessing photos is a bit more complicated, but that’s iOS’s fault, not Squarespace’s. I don’t see an option to add different types of pages, such as a blog, and I hope that this functionality is coming soon. I suppose as a kludge I can duplicate my existing blog page to add another blog to my site, but that doesn’t help someone with an existing site who deleted a template’s blog page and wants to add it back. Your app has inspired me to write my first review. Thank you, and I look forward to an iPad app.

Missing key elements, and glitches
by asdfasdfasdgadfhg on 2019/08/30 20:01
I use the app for blogs on our website and there are things that I cannot do on the app, so I have to finish on a computer browser. I cannot add Tags, Categories, Title photos, etc. Placement of media on the blogs is difficult to customize. And I can only add 1 piece of media before having to click “Done - Save Draft - Edit” before adding another one. Every time after I’ve added a photo then click the + to add another, the menu to edit the photo I just added pops up. I should really be able to use this app as a replacement for the browser, especially considering the mobile browser doesn’t seem compatible (regardless of which browser I am using) and never works either.
FINALLY an iPad version...what took so long??
by Bad Kitty on 2019/05/07 14:41
Good thing I decided to update before writing this review! I’ve been pretty embarrassed while sitting at restaurants trying to edit my site with my iPad, turning my head sideways to look at the screen while trying to add blog posts. I’m not sure what took so long to do this...and like other users, I’ve switched almost entirely to my iPad and rarely carry my laptop, so this was a much needed update. Thank you! I still haven’t given it a serious run-through, but the fact that it’s here makes me happy.
Thank you! Super valuable app.
by wjjz13 on 2018/12/12 19:20
Works great for updating customer sites on the fly!!! Intuitive and effective. Overall very happy with app, it’s an answer to a very big pain point. This app will improve doing business on the go. 2 pieces of feedback: -Switching between different websites was not obvious. (It’s under the “account” tab for anyone who can’t find it). Would love to see the ability to quickly switch sites from the “home” tab. -On certain templates, navigation elements did not function properly/were not able to be edited through the app. Hopefully this will be addressed in future updates. Overall, strong 5 stars! This is a true game changer. With the launch of this app I can take a customer phone call, quickly make an edit from my phone, and immediately satisfy my customer. No need to wait for a laptop/WiFi. Something web developers have needed for years. Thank you!
Wow, nicely done!
by darkdriving on 2019/05/01 17:39
I absolutely love that I’m able to make changes and additions to my website from the palm of my hand. This is a huge step up from the previous Squarespace apps that were available and negates the need for them altogether. My one hope is that they’ll optimize it for use on iPad (my primary work device). It would be amazing to have this work on the larger screen in landscape mode! Update: they fixed my one issue by releasing a fantastic iPad app update. Thanks a mil, Squarespace team!
IPad Pro and app
by Chaotic Good Life on 2019/10/11 20:26
Verdict: Well, it’s better than Wix... Mostly functional but it doesn’t replace having an actual computer which is super annoying. Some blocks have to be edited, moved, added, or deleted from a browser and the ipad version of safari doesn’t cut it either. My main wish is that it would be fully functional from the app and capable of supporting all the features offered, which should be feasible with the ipad specific iOS being released. More for the wish list: - edit pictures in app, even just basic cropping would be quite helpful - ability to rearrange squares in blog posts. The text and the pictures don’t line up automatically when added and you can’t really move them around - pictures don’t load when you go back into a draft. This should be the most easily remedied but I can’t seem to get it to cooperate on my end. All said, it’s better than the Wix app, so if you haven’t committed to a host yet and working on iOS is a factor for you, then Squarespace wins.
Good app.
by Jaydilla on 2018/12/13 17:11
Just downloaded this today. Its a slick layout and a great idea. Makes it very easy to view your website and quickly make edits. Took me a while to figure out how to actually perform an edit to my one of my pages. There is a tutorial on the app on how to do it saying “tap on section to edit”, but it’s not that simple. After tapping around for a while, the edit bar came up all the way at the top of my scree and the options were partially cut off. It does work, however. You’ll just need to do some trial and error to get it to work. Other than that...excellent app.
Great UI for mobile.... but not iPad Compatible?!?!
by jmaz2013 on 2018/12/14 23:02
Overall I’m impressed with the app. They did a great job implementing the UI they have on desktop for mobile. As per usual with Squarespace, design is elegant and intuitive to use. I can’t help but dock a couple stars though for not being iPad compatible right out the gate. Seeing as how Squarespace is used by so many creative professionals, I would think an iPad version would be a must from the get go. Even though I am happy to have it on my phone, I would most definitely rather make changes to my site on my iPad than iPhone. It sort of feels like another “almost” for the company.
Working on the Go
by Megan7902 on 2019/11/10 08:18
I really enjoy being able to start and edit pages on the go. I can get my ideas down quickly and then work more in detail on the desktop. I haven’t been using the app for very long but it’s very easy to use especially if you learned Squarespace already on a browser. I’ve loved Squarespace for many years and will stick with them be a use of these type of features and improvements.
OMG Thank you Thank you Thank you

Thank you sooooo much for this app!!!! You have no idea how much easier you just made my life. I’ve been waiting for this forever!! I don’t have a computer or a car and often have to travel FAR just to edit my website but now that I can do it on my phone!!! Llfe has just gotten easier! I am a loyal Squarespace user and never use anything else so this is awesome and long over due. Thanks again guys <3
Much better than the Blog app, but needs iPad version ASAP
by Steve from the Ranch on 2018/12/18 00:55
I was a beta tester of this app and kinda went ballistic when I found that it wouldn’t run on my new iPad Pro. However, I decided to calm down and load it on my iPhone, and to be honest with you I’m pretty impressed. It does about everything I need to do, albeit on a smaller screen. I’m going to wait until the promised iPad edition appears to get really excited, but for those who need to do page or blog edits, update site settings, and so on, the new Squarespace app is pretty darned good.
Blogging on the go
by @OGthraxxed on 2019/07/23 14:30
Blogging was so much easier on the blog app ! Please bring it back. I have to get on my computer to blog now because it’s not as functional as the app was. On this app , editing is too hard in the format of the actual website. You can’t do everything you could when y’all had the blog app. The functionality was way better. The the blog section of this app like the blog app & we’ll be good to go !
Apprehensive at first, best decision ever!
by bmjfdt on 2019/09/30 12:59
I had been looking into many different platforms to see what would be best for my political blog and I couldn’t seem to make up my mind. There a many to choose from that are free to use but none like Squarespace that offer the flexibility, aesthetics, and peace of mind when starting a blog. I was apprehensive at first to start with Squarespace due to the annual fee but it so worth it! Best decision ever!
Love the app - suggestion to the developers
by RDBPhotoLLC on 2019/10/26 22:38
Love the app and the capabilities it has - only gripe is why can’t we have the ability to go landscape on iPhone?!? That is the one thing I miss about no longer having the portfolio app. When I want to show someone my photos on my phone I have to go to my website I order to get the full size image in landscape. I don’t want to keep having to do this multiple times a day... When can we expect this feature?
Not happy to be losing Squarespace Blog app
by Poet blogger on 2019/06/09 16:18
Just got the email that Squarespace is discontinuing its Blog App as of 1 July, and so I tried updating my blog via this App, as will be required. I am not impressed. Updating my blog seemed to require more steps, the process was much less intuitive, and even in the iPad view mode, the screen print was too small for my middle-aged eyes. The Blog App was so easy to work with and displayed so well on my iPad. Why get rid of a good thing, if you aren’t replacing it with something better? Very disappointed, as I appreciated so much being able to add a blog post even from my iPhone if need be.
Glad it’s available for iPad, still too many limitations
by blasto2236 on 2019/05/09 05:58
I use SquareSpace to host two different sites, one of which is a podcast. I’m still not able to upload files to an audio block using the iPad app. I thought maybe this limitation would be removed when they finally released an iPad specific app, but nope. I still have to log on to my Mac and upload the audio, then write my blog post/metadata specifics in the iPad app. PITA. Please get the app up to feature parity with your website and we’ll be in business.
Nice being able to edit / create blog pages
by corymccabe on 2019/09/29 06:48
I’m really hoping full capability is something being worked on, like being able to edit/add all Block types. We’re currently limited to not being able to add Newsletter blocks, Forms, and other things I believe (don’t have a list in front of me). Design styles on pages as well. Really hope it’s in the works to build everything out, or at least gradually release new features!
Please Access To Blog App
by HonestLabe on 2019/08/23 18:18
Hi, Please allow access to still utilize the Blog App even if it will no longer being updated. I’m experiencing difficulties with the Squarespace app. In regards to its blog post features toggling and not being as user friendly. For one, it’s harder to schedule post with the slider and you can’t post on specific times. Two, the inability to add new tags to a post you can only search for previously used tags. Is it possible to gain access to the blog app?
Needs a few Improvements
by JB516 on 2019/03/03 15:32
This App is cool to edit on the go but you have a really annoying Bug that doesn’t allow you to see what you’re typing after a certain amount of content is added to the page. Needs to be more seamless for editing so that I can blog. Meaning if I add a Picture and one paragraph, I am then no longer able to continue viewing what I type if I select another Text Block. It becomes obscured by the built in keyboard that only previews the letters you press.
Poor Support for Mobile Businesses
by Nursing Mama on 2019/10/15 04:43
I run a 100% mobile business - no brick and mortar here! My customers purchase product from me at various pop up locations or book classes at myriad locations. I run about 20 events a month and I cannot add the events on the website or app platforms. It must be on a desktop which is a total chore. I am rarely in front of a desktop computer - I don’t own a desk! My business is totally on-the-go! Please fix this. I love my website but maintaining it is so hard.
Great Site. Sometimes confusing.
by ShaggyManRogers on 2019/03/03 18:15
This is one of the easier and more professional lay outs I’ve seen for someone creating their own website, very rarely have I run into issues. My only complaint would be the SEO and social details that you can add to each individual page, it is confusing to follow the process there and with each tab on your site having its own info, it can get confusing very quickly.
Not great
by BonnieRue on 2020/07/26 05:13
With the update I lost the ability to insert links on my website.
Like it better than the site!
by LBCfromOKC on 2018/12/19 23:38
So far I’m liking the app better than the site! There have been some things I’ve wanted to change, but haven’t been able to find or have not stuck via the site. I’ve been able to do so on the app. I don’t really use my computer much so I’m loving the app! Really does everything I need it to (so far).
poor functionality
by Cass Evan on 2019/06/12 19:14
for a tech company, i’m really surprised at how glitchy this app is. when i click buttons they only work 75% of the time (i.e. tapping a photo album to upload to my gallery, and when i choose and tap the album i need to access, the button reacts but then the album list just retracts and takes me back to the general camera roll). another issue i have with uploading photos is that it doesn’t show my most recently created photo album as an option to upload from. i updated this app today hoping these bugs would be improved but now the “edit” button on my pages just remains grey and won’t allow me to tap. i was on business traveling this past weekend and my laptop was at home. i went to a convention and passed out about 20 business cards and so i would have loved the opportunity to update my website remotely.
So close
by SCGartworks on 2018/12/30 03:55
This app would be almost perfect if I could add and manage products to my website. That’s the only thing holding this back. You would think that this feature would have been one of the first ones they added when developing the app but I guess not. I was told maybe it will be added sooner than later and that I’m not the only one to complain about it. I suppose that’s encouraging.
Trash
by RarianaGrariande on 2020/09/26 09:46
Nothing more frustrating than learning that the subscription you’ve paid for has been completely neutered by the fact that the website editor IS NOT COMPATIBLE with my Surface pro because of its touch screen.
Squarespace no longer listens or cares about their customers
by Bill Moree on 2019/07/26 19:05
Squarespace introduces this app and killed off their “Portfolio” app. Many people have written Customer Service and have shared about it on SS’s own forums. Customer Service keeps responding that this new app replaces the “Portfolio” app, which is wrong. This app doesn’t do any of the things Portfolio did. They are completely different animals. Portfolio was a critical app that no other app or service has replaced. This app duplicates what we already can do. If that works for you, great. For Photographer’s and professional artist’s, few will ever use it. It simply easier to upload work from the desktop. Squarespace isn’t listening. I don’t know whether it is because they don’t understand how their service is being used, or because they no longer care about the professional artists, designers and photographers that used to be the core of their business.
Create, manage, and edit anywhere
by TannerC on 2019/06/17 17:07
Squarespace has built a superb mobile experience with this app. I can now manage all of my websites and blogs from anywhere. I’ve had no issues with the app since testing it back in their beta program trial and am extremely glad Squarespace has built this app.
From 5 stars to 1
by TVYLOR on 2019/07/25 03:32
This app was so conveniently wonderful since most of my photos are on my phone and it made updating my website so much easier. However, now the app will not allow me to edit any of my pages. The option to edit is there, but it is greyed out and I cannot click on it. I’ve tried to close and re-open the app, start my phone over, and all the basics— nothing has solved this issue. It defeats the purpose to have an app for editing a website if the edit option does not function, thus, one star from me until this is fixed.
Blog post issues
by scottreyes on 2019/08/05 09:50
I love Squarespace. I have 4 sites on the platform, and recommend it constantly. This review covers a problem with this app specifically. When I create a new blog post, and have to go back and manually change the URL from the randomly generated one. Both the online version and the old Squarespace blog app used the title to generate the URL. When I submitted this to the support email my request was closed without a response, so I am submitting this same question here. Is this something that you plan on fixing?
Still Big quirks with App.
by StoryboardC. on 2019/11/27 04:03
The Squarespace App finally did got better, but now has again slipped back.. Can’t add new categories or tags to blog posts nor file names without a error message. I also have been having problems logging in getting another error message as well. As a paying customer who uses the app to blog. I’m really disappointed with these bugs and now can’t even get on the desktop version via my phone.
Great for quick editing on the go
by Colinstarfish on 2019/09/01 15:12
I am not always home when I need to edit my website, so this is brilliant for quick edits and blog posts. Super easy to use as well, though any fancy editing is tricky on a phone screen (I’m looking at you spacers!!) Other than that, I love the app, love the website. Thanks.

Very frustrating how it doesn’t allow me to upload images using the app.
This app has improved immensely over time!
by lndsyydn on 2020/12/15 06:00
This app has improved immensely over time! Very easy to figure out quickly on iPad – especially if you're already familiar using the Desktop/browser version. Feels like an Adobe-Quality application. 🤙
Fantasticly easy to work with

Awful
by rome4112 on 2020/10/17 11:26
Investing time and energy in Squarespace is a huge regret.

Worst App
by sjtryon on 2020/07/05 17:54
Unbelievably annoying app.

Will we be able to use this app to edit portfolios in the future? I love the idea of portfolios and use them on my website but I can’t edit them on my iOS devices which is very disappointing.
Please fix the bugs

I’ve been looking for a place to make websites and I thought well why not try square space? Everybody knows that square space is the best place to make websites, right? Well.. I’ve experienced a lot of glitches and bugs throughout this app and all though I want to try it out its so glitchy that I can’t do anything on it. Please fix these bugs! (Also I will not be emailing and places to talk to somebody about these problems so)
Please add cursor support
by Riley Bounds on 2020/06/07 19:50
Please add support for cursors, like the one in the Magic Keyboard. As of now, the only way to select and edit text is by finger or stylus.

by A Musician on 2020/06/01 18:26
A previous version of this app was cumbersome and glitchy, but I could use it to make cursory updates to my site.

Bring back the blog app
by CultiKerri on 2020/03/19 14:42
I have had so many issues with writing my blogs in this app. It’s slow, closes out of things, won’t allow me to upload with the grid. Considering how much I pay for my squarespace site, it would be great if the app could work better. It looks fancy but it’s not very functional. Please bring the simple blog app that was discontinued because this “new” app.

OMG Thank you Thank you Thank you
by Chels585 on 2019/05/08 14:08
Thank you sooooo much for this app!!!!
Thanks.
