Skyrim Fix

Similar game play as my beloved Skyrim. Very enjoyable!
Love love love

I only play blades cause it’s the only game from the series that interest me, but I absolutely love it!! Cannot live without this game!!
Very buggy
by Sand Consumer on 2019/11/14 00:11
The gameplay is great, but there have been just too many incidents of the game just quitting on me. The game just crashes for no reason. If Bethesda fixes this, then I’ll rate it 5 stars.
Love & LOVE butt...
by Tyty2141 on 2019/11/13 20:47
So close to perfection, it just needs more ways to connect & make friends & communicate as you both dive into the abyss! & either a bigger shield button for the iPad, or some kind of two finger press block system. It also doesn’t move to the left or right when I change the settings, & the joysticks aren’t appearing. Also...I’m not afraid to throw you my money, but don’t need limited time offers, I need a catalog! Please have mercy!
Started playing after first account erased?
by aliisuunn on 2019/11/13 19:43
✨✨My first go around I made it to level 21, without spending any real life money. Right now I’m on level 16, I have about 320 gems without spending real money. Levels get hard. But I’m still able to beat levels with 5 skulls and sneak around tougher enemies. The graphics are great, occasionally little glitchy. I’ve found if it glitches, maybe you’re stuck, it’s not letting you fight, idk, just exit out completely and open it up again. You’ll be back on your quest and you’ll be back a few steps, just proceed and hope it doesn’t happen again. I think it’s a little weird EVERY potion requires garlic and I know I’m not the only one. Really I can’t complain about hardly anything. Although I do wish there was armor that’s cute for girly girls like me. The jewels aren’t enough haha. Super great game. Generous daily rewards. Challenging and tests your patients, but for me that’s part of the fun✨✨
Lots of issues
by "The Room" Lover on 2019/11/13 19:24
I’ve spent a lot of time playing this game. I recently spent a bit buying gems to open some chests because I had too many. I was at level 58 when I opened the game one day and my character was gone. I reached out to tech support and now I’m waiting. They said a number of people are experiencing the same thing. The game is addicting but it is VERY repetitive. Level after level, job after job it’s the same scene, same enemies and same everything. I was playing to pass the time and see how far I got. The fact that I put money into the game and my character has been lost is a deal breaker for me.
What cannot retrieve character!
by The maad IT guy on 2019/11/13 19:01
Graphics are cool. Played for a few but started to feel very redundant. Same 3 dungeons played over and over ... huge let down from the maker of Skyrim and eso. Bethesda please stick to making elder scrolls 7 for pc and more content for ESO.
Waiting to play.
by Elcasserole202 on 2019/11/13 18:31
Stuck on the loading screen the whole time thinking that the specs are messed up or something bc i looked it up too. this has gotta be fixed
Fun, but repetitive & not balanced
by InfinityNYC on 2019/11/13 16:12
I’m enjoying this game, but it does feel a bit repetitive. The main quests are not, but the need to level up in order to do these quests relies primarily on “job” quests that often are too difficult to accomplish for my characters level. I was stuck for a bit, without knowing how to advance until I realized I could start “job” quests and then quit right away to get a new job. This is tedious and still the new jobs are too hard often times. Just slows gameplay down to needless levels. I should be able to quickly replace and renew jobs from the job board screen. Otherwise, it’s a decent game for Eldee Scrolls fans that can’t get enough.

Almost perfect
by Minoffin on 2019/11/13 08:41
Great game, good balance between building a town and slaying monsters. At times, however, the game becomes impossible which can be frustrating if not a total turnoff. Resurrection Scrolls can only be found not purchased. Health potions are sometimes overpriced or not available. And quests may all be too difficult. This all seems like obvious constraints to force players to shell out real cash to purchase premium game currency. This is a total turnoff. I’m willing to occasionally pay out real money to purchase premium game currency in order to speed up the game, To make that the ONLY way to play, however, is simple poor game design which pushes players, not to shell out money, but simply look elsewhere for entertainment.
Fun game
by Uncle Tammy on 2019/11/13 07:17
Great game to play and kill some time. You can pay to win but it doesn’t feel that way playing it. Moevment needs to be more responsive.
Great game
by Alamut of Ayuda on 2019/11/13 06:21
I’ve been playing this game since the first week it was released. I wanted to see if the game had a paywall, or if I could enjoy it completely even as a free to play player. I was able to max my town and shops and get a full set of dragon plate armor fully enchanted without hitting a paywall. That said, this game is worth putting your hard earned cash into, and after confirming no paywall, I’ve been happily supporting the dev team financially as I have enjoyed months of rewarding gameplay. Now the review: Graphics - 10/10 Absolutely stunning graphics and animations, comparable with many console games. Monsters of the same type are not just a different color but visually very distinct (e.g. a forest troll looks like it belongs in a forest and a berserker troll is nightmare fuel) Sound - 8/10 The environment is alive with sound, from the random greetings of the townsfolk to the varied noises of mobs in the dungeons, the sounds are everywhere and well done, bringing the game alive. Gameplay: 7/10 I love Bethesda Softworks for their open world sandbox style games. This is not one. You are in fixed dungeons with set corridors to go through. There is no wandering around the world as you wish. The quests are linear and very straightforward, select the quest/job and run through the set dungeon. Fights have massively improved since launch with mobs being much better balanced and more varied, although 99% will be the same repetitive motions and can get boring after a while. That said, a fight with any dragon or a lich will test you to your limits deep in the abyss. The game was fairly stable at launch but has become steadily more buggy over time with lag ,especially in fights, occasional game crashes, townspeople floating in the air, holes in dungeon walls, impassible spots on what looks like level floors, etc. They are not game breaking, but can be annoying. Bugthesda quality control is very evident at times. Overall I love this game despite its bugs. The quests have fun lore in them, watching the town grow from a ruin to something Solitude would be envious of is deeply rewarding, and late game gameplay is very rewarding.
Good but few things
by Rifle lord on 2019/11/13 05:14
I enjoy the game a lot. The main problem I have is that you can’t stack enchantments on gear that has it; for example I have a very excellent dwarf mace with no charms but it’s been highly upgraded into the levels you have to use upgrading points for and I have a lower damage one that has a fire enchantment but I definitely lack the materials or time to upgrade it as far. The elemental weakness system is a bit complex because everything is different and it’s mildly infuriating that skeletons and wights(the most common enemy types) are opposite resistances because lightning is near useless a damage type because it’s most appealing draw is to slow down the beefiest hits but it doesn’t do extra damage like literally almost anything else and magic isn’t even a skeleton trait so losing magic really doesn't affect them. Fire and poison are the only actually useful elements. That leads to my next point, it needs to be possible to dispel enemies using magic skills with a hit because when they use poison it ROTS health in seconds and I’m wearing dwarven and high orc gear so it’s not that I’m weak. There needs to be something done to either make enemies(NOT players) staggerable OR nerf their spells significantly. Finally chests. It should seriously be possible to open multiple at once because silver chests are cumbersome and pile up too quickly to only open 1 EVERY SINGLE HOUR. Most people don’t have the time to wait each second down to unlock the pile of silver chests. I propose making wood chests 30 seconds, silver 2 minutes, gold 6 minutes, and elder chests 12 minutes. Oh before I forget, when moving fast over the big maps the game sometimes spins me around a bit with a second pause which is disoriented disorganized and juts into the flow of the game.

Fun until the Bloodfall Queen quest!!!
by Jordan29690 on 2019/11/13 03:08
I loved this game a lot and I came across the Bloodfall Queen quest and it’s super hard to pass. Every time I would make it to talk to her the game would glitch and exit out of the app or I would lose internet connection when I had full bars and it would start me over. I’m very upset and I deleted the game. I hate when I try hard and finally pass something only for it to go to waste! FIX THIS!
Someone read this, please
by dhkajdjdka on 2019/11/13 02:48
I could have given this four stars, but this has been having some major issues that have gotten worse every time I play. The combat system is garbage. It needs an attack button or something. Looking around is a chore. Make a system more like Minecraft, which isn’t a very fun game, but at least controls are much better. Occasional crashes and glitches, nothing too bad. Yet. The worst part is that animals like Skeevers deal WAY too much damage. I have nearly died many times and that’s really annoying. Skeevers and Spiders should deal very little damage. Also, every time I level up my Stamina, nothing seems to change. Please fix. If you’re reading this, and you already own Skyrim on Switch, or Oblivion on GPD Win, then you don’t need another Elder Scrolls on a portable device. At least not until they fix this. And lastly, this should be Open World, not just walking down a path through the forest because that’s all you can do. Don’t waste your time until they fix these glaring issues.
Too many bugs
by ItzPoodle on 2019/11/13 01:30
I’m currently stuck in a mission where the quest is to kill all the skeletons. I’ve killed them all but the quest won’t end. Clairvoyance only leads me back to the skeletons i’ve already slain. Another problem is enemies attacking you and canceling your spells yet they can continuously cast spells even when hit, it’s unfair.

I am a little disappointed with the updates
by gadst2011 on 2019/11/12 15:42
I am at level 52 and steadily finding the game more difficult because you can’t continue to upgrade your character after level 50 but the levels continue to get more difficult. I have spent far more money on this game than I am willing to admit and it kinda feels like Bethesda forgets about you once you have spent your money. They also changed the recommended level for the abyss recently which has made it really difficult to even get the materials I need to upgrade my armor and weapons. So now I am stuck grinding through jobs and unable to upgrade my character or armor or weapons and the game just continues to gain in difficulty. I would love to keep playing but it feels like I have spent to much money on a broken game.
Great game, but....
by BloodyLaRk on 2019/11/12 07:40
This is a great game. I really enjoyed my time of playing it. However, I have no idea why my recommended abyss level change to 30 when I leveled up 23... Now I could only go down 2 levels and die... I could not even make enough gold to repair my gears. It is ridiculous! The recommended level for all my jobs are starting from lvl28... seriously? Why?! I would grind for a few days. If nothing changed, I will quit playing.
It’s ok but.... I’d fix a few things
by Enviousins on 2019/11/12 03:34
The games graphics are high quality, let’s start off with the huge main perk here. They are wonderful. But there is a few things I would like to point out. Often times playing the game I end up having to stop due to max limit of chests. I have legit been on top of opening chests today and setting new ones to unlock but let’s be real. They take waaaayyy to long. Just let me open my chests. Like don’t give me a reward and then make me wait for it. I get slowing down the game but you’ve already done that with the level of difficulty in some of the challenges. (Sort of stuck right now with my character level 9 and struggling to get enough gold while struggling against chest unlocks is tiresome. I want to play the game. But I can’t play right now. I’ve upgraded my armor but my health gets overwhelmed by the number of creatures and their max level of difficulty.) Also not being able to fight in third person kinda saddens me. I like to see my character, not personally a first person fan. But last but not least, it loses the feel of adventure when you lose an open world sim. I feel almost trapped between building the city, jobs, and dungeon crawlers. It’s lost a lot of the feel that makes it Skyrim. However, I do like the ability to rebuild my city and customize it. More buildings and features would be cool. Feels like I can only customize it so much and it’s mostly houses and simple statue or flag like decor. Has good aspects and potential. But the over all feel.... well I feel cheated out of that Skyrim adventure, MMO, open world feel. Especially with soooo many MMO Open world games on here. I’d be willing to buy a real version similar the original Skyrim on here. Flat rate with dlc. But this I feel I am rapidly losing interest. And it’s day 2.
AWESOME!

I love the Elder scroll series Especially Skyrim. And this is taking the spot of Skyrim. This is a great PHONE game. And I don't say that ever. The controls are Phenomenal, the graphics are fantastic, the flow is amazing, the quest are just great. I honestly don't have a single complaint about this game. Its litterly Skyrim on my phone.

Scarcity Rules
by CrKhan09 on 2019/11/11 19:18
There is a lot to like about this game. However, in the end the scarcity of copper needed for town upgrades and the fact that you need either rare gems or hours to unlock the chests that contain the most copper ruined it for me. Especially bad is the fact that you can only unlock one chest at a time. It is just too much pay to play for my taste. What kind of rpg makes you wait to unlock a basic level chest? If you don’t mind spending lots of money on a small phone game versus getting a bigger and better experience with Skyrim (or even ESO) for less money then this game is for you.
Difficulty spike
by YayaBrown1 on 2019/11/11 19:05
So i love this game and have been playing it since it came out on and off. I’m level 46 now but every since around level 40, I’ve noticed that the difficulty has gotten insanely high. I got better armor and that some how means i can take this lich that says it’s ONE SKULL DIFFICULTY? It kills me in seconds! The game seems to think I’m a lot better and more prepared than i am and i am only ever given incredibly difficult quests. I never really complete quests anymore bc the difficulty is far beyond my actual armor and weapon rank. Is this a pagans problem or am i just bad at games?

This game is great but one problem
by Kevduit on 2019/11/11 16:46
This game is amazing I just wish there could be another mobile Elder Scroll game in the future that’s just like Skyrim or Oblivion or ESO but atleast we have this game BUT I’m using the iPad 2018 and it’s running the game quite well but in the new update I keep crashing every minute in my town and ever since I started playing the game around early September every ones in a while my game crashes when I try going to my town and I just really love the game but I just can’t play it anymore because of this issue so I was hoping if someone could take my complaint into consideration and deal with this and this is my first time writing a review and it isn’t really a review it’s more of a bug report or whatever you would call it this is pretty bad bye thank you!

Defibitely takes after their series in so many ways. Bugs included. No way for me to get certain gemstones to use for upgrading weapons - i keep getting ones I can’t use yet instead. I had a job not give me enough enemies to meet a quota. Another would not let me complete it when the requirements were met. Or maybe it did not give me enough townsfolk to meet the requirements but the whole map was cleared. Overall, this game transitions a little too slow for me. The lag makes gameplay difficult if not impossible. Entering combat when there are obstacles around can really affect your ability to see the enemy which is important in this game. Overall, this game transitions a little too slow for me. I have a love/hate relationship with it. A way of getting rid of chests without opening them would be nice so you can collect the ones you want. There is a lot of detail in the gane and they have something good. For now, I’m deleting it and probably never returning to it. Mobile games don’t seem to do it for me.
Very good game, could use some puzzles, riddles, and more NPC interaction
by rabbitshavefangs on 2019/11/10 21:46
password recovery, etc. just to get logged into Bethesda account, (why is this necessary?) I was told I was not able to play the game and had to wait to be allowed to play. So far, I am not impressed!
Meh
by Treefork on 2019/11/10 21:25
Just another IAP Laden cash machine. Nothing really to do different than the previous quest. Each quest consists of going into a dungeon and killing a certain number of bad guys. Build up your character for more difficult dungeons that are basically the same. No open world exploration you have to stay in your town and launch dungeon quests from there. Graphics are nice, but doesn’t make up for the lack of soul. Would much rather play a port of an older Bethesda game and pay $ for that, but the mobile formula is based on gambling. 5 stars for cash grab on addicted gamblers. 2 stars for game.

Problems: -Sun disappears when you don’t fully go behind something -Smoke moves with you when you look up and move the smoke also moves -You don’t have a shadow -Moving into npc’s results in them fast floating? You can push npc’s real fast -You can see sun behind a tree -sun doesn’t go away behind clouds -npc’s literally don’t do anything -the sky is a box looks like a box -water falls look sharp they look wierd -water is too too wavy everywere -The abyss next level rocks fall no noise when you finish a level in abyss rocks fall if you go back but you don’t hear it Should do: -Make repair costs cheaper -Add detail to faces -can walk anywhere in your town -Can go inside town-hall -Sneak button in quests or abyss with sneak attack -enhance town graphics (seems off) -make this co-op -be able to give your friends small amounts of cash Errors: -Reviving yourself then attacking an enemy did no damage -App closes on me sometimes -does not give me 24hr free gift on time sometimes to early or 6 hrs late

Gone. an support won’t fix it... I can’t believe it ... not cool .... I’m sticking to Xbox an never downloading another phone game made by them ever again.. I wish they’d get away from the pay to play crap .. an just focus back on creating a amazing game experience.. My Prior Negative Review Was Deleted For Some Reason. Goes with the Game
by DCmapa on 2019/11/08 15:33
This is an updated review. At one point the ratings for this game fell to about 2.9-3.0 then overnight jumped up over 4.0. I had a negative review just disappear. That is suspect. The positive reviews are not honest. Bethesda claims to be making a lot of money on this free game. That is only one of the issues. For $40 you can get the entire IOS Baldur’s Gate series. A real game with none of this pay to open chests and things. Shame on you Bethesda. UPDATE: Reloaded game - same. UPDATE: I was hoping to upgrade my rating with Patch 1.4. How lame can you make 4 quests? The nighttime is now annoying because nothing else is happening. 4.2 million gp and no reason to do anything but clear out chests, get my “free” dab of limestone each day and then maybe do the job of the day. Financially, can Bethesda make this game work when those with higher levels find nothing to do? Why on earth would we spend any more money on it? I have a set of dragon armor but with so little dragon bones and scales it will be up to two years and 17 million gp to bring to mythical. Two years of the same 4-5 scenes for jobs. I can’t stand it. I just deleted it finally. Update: Level 58 and a little 4 Million GP. The system has allowed for more gems to be earned without buying them so I am almost wanting to add a star. But in the end same issues as below. I have obtained all dragon armor. But at the base level (since I don’t want to spend more money on Legendary Chests hoping for something dragon made which has only happened once in 5 or 6 chests). To upgrade those items will cost between millions of gp. BUT, I need to acquire a ton of extremely rare minerals that don’t even appear in Elder Chests often. That means I could spend a year or more trying to upgrade these items to get a better character. Older Comments: First, this game is pretty. Nice graphics. But that isn’t enough is it. I played — level 57 with 3.8 million gp, level 10 town with double shops including two level 10 blacksmith shops — because I loved the PC Elder Scrolls games. I kept playing in hopes of something better. I may yet. But I can’t recommend. Why? Here’s a list: 1. Pay to Play. Seriously, those reviewers who deny this are either fake or they are low level. As you move up you have to upgrade your town. This costs thousands of pieces of limestone, marble and the like and the last levels can cost almost a million gold pieces. You cannot hope to seriously have a shot at this if you do not buy chests. Those who claim otherwise are not at a level to need to buy yet. And some vendors, like the Artisan, don’t actually give you anything substantive after level 7. Just very expensive trees. 2. Note all the “discounted chest” promos. They never discount the gems except when you first start. Then they offer a chest with stuff that if you don’t get you will add months of play to make up for, if ever. Gems are the key. You have to pay for gems. 3. If you pay $19.99 for 2,500 gems that gets you one Legendary chest. So you see the game here. As you go up you get offered discounts on chests. Early on the chests do help. But you need gems and they are hard to get unless you buy them. At level 57 these chests just give you stuff to sell because you already have better. 4. Repetition — there are only about 3-4 dungeons and 2-3 outdoor settings. All the major quests and jobs happen in the same settings with new names. Once you get through the major quests the jobs just repeat, over and over. 5. Arena — right now the characters are banal and easily beaten once you go to a certain level. Same characters over and over. PvP doesn’t sound exciting because the higher players will simply dominate the Arena. 6. Balance — until you get to over 20-30 levels you will struggle. All those critters they throw at you — same ones over and over — get tougher and you just have to get so high in level to beat them. How do you have that chance? Buy gems, upgrade your town and then maybe you will beat the higher creatures. Even so when the main quests are done it’s the same thing over and over. 7. The blacksmith is great for your gear. The others are mediocre. Once you hit level 10 town the artisan shop is useless. There is no real difference between level 7 and 10 in terms of artisan crafting. You are mainly paying thousands for trees or things you’d never use. Once you are at a certain level the shops are mainly to sell what you get from chests and arena fights. 8. Trapped — you can’t leave the town except for the small job settings. No roaming. Supposedly you’ll be able to soon visit other players cities. Why? The NPCs are Stepford Wives with no real dialogue. The shops will be the same as yours. The original Elder Scrolls Arena in 1994 was less than 9 MB (MB not GB) and had about 6 million miles of playable map. Six Million. This game is over 1 GB approaching 2 GB. This game has about half a mile to a mile of playable map, maybe. Wow. 9. Scarce items. Once you get to a certain level even things like Marble are scarce. You need marble to upgrade houses and buildings. The things you need for dragon armor and weapons, the highest, almost never appear. You have to get gold chests or better to have a chance. For Elder or higher chests you have to buy them (1% chance to get an Elder Chest so don’t count on it). For most times the chests do not have what you need so you have to keep buying. See the game. Pay to play. With Skyrim you paid $60 or so for a full fledged game. Huge. The download for this game isn’t really that much less in size and more than the early Elder Scrolls games but no where near in content. And this game is free but if you want to get to level 57 you need to pay money. Don’t waste your time with $5 purchases. Just get the $99 thing once or twice and you’ll finally start to move up. Why move up? Boredom mainly. What else is there to do while hoping Bethesda gets it better. I cannot recommend this game. DO NOT BELIEVE THE 5 Star reviews.
Great mobile game
by Zoeli56 on 2019/11/08 13:26
Want an ESO fix on your mobile? Play ESO Blades! The story arch and gameplay are awesome. I appreciate the ability to grind for extended periods of time, unlike many mobile games that have a time an energy/life timer to encourage you to spend real life money. There is p2p options, where you can buy gems, gold, chests, specialty items, etc. However, this isn’t necessary for an enjoyable gaming experience.
Hard to advance, always looking for money, but still playing it
by R0se110 on 2019/11/08 04:47
If you are serious about Elder Scrolls, this game came be seriously annoying. The give me gear to deconstruct that is 10 levels lower than me, so I never have materials to improve my current level gear. Last night I bought an Elder Chest and it crashed. It took my 750 crystals and gave me NOTHING in return. I can’t even figure out how I could report the error so there is no way to get it fixed. But I’m still playing it so I guess it’s not too bad for a mobile device.
Comments for the Developer
by soldsoul4$ on 2019/11/08 00:25
The game is based off the games we have all come to love growing up and the potential is there! needs to be the quest less endless exploration where you just Rome and gather. More custom skill choices and needs way more enchantment possibilities and options! Different spells to chose from! Quests the game sets for you can be at an ungodly impossible high level( I’m level 37 one of them recommended level was 49) there is some pay to win mentalities like all phone games too! ( needs to be more content for pay that they already have established) I get that free game play don’t cover cost to make or cover bills but give the player something worth contributing to!!!!! My hope is they expand the game make it worth while Bethesda is not new to the game industry and has made many amazing games my hope is they don’t drag that exemplary name thro the dirt by making this a profit machine that leaves the player hanging. This being said always end on a positive note the graphics are great combat set up is good and will look like morrowind or Skyrim graphically! Lots of potential I hope for great things!
Chests
by WRock251 on 2019/11/07 18:57
First and foremost: this is a great game that rewards skill and understanding. If you’re saying this is play to win, try understanding resistance, vulnerabilities, and combos including dodging and blocking. Second: for the developers, I really want y’all to add in the ability to pick the chests. Based on how well you do, the lower the wait time is to open them. This is one of my favorite tasks to do in the Elder Scrolls games. Third: make the secrets less standardized. Have more options to find them and increase the treasure you get in them. Make it harder to find by eliminating the glint that shows the triggers. Replace it with realistic out of place items like bookshelves with one book that is different from the others or vine like ropes trailing from a rock that seems out of place. Finally: kudos to the developers for releasing a great first product. Thank you!!
Great game
by kingtech13$ on 2019/11/07 18:38
But there are some little issues my town is a level 6 and I’m a level 29 I’m trying to build the founders statue and I can’t because to build it you need certain things and I sold them along time ago in the game they are crystals for decoration material to make the statues and now that I’m so far into the game I can’t find them anymore and it’s really frustrating and believe me I’ve tried going on countless jobs and even opened up a billion chests nothing so if your listing to this please fix that make all items available no matter the level that way you can still build stuff if you sell things for cash. Thanks for listening
Fun and addictive
by Tkerem on 2019/11/07 15:09
I really like this game.I am level 20 and I never feel forced to buy gems or other things to beat the game.
Game crashes? “NO” problem!
by jkinmsn on 2019/11/07 14:20
If the game crashes, that’s no trouble! Once you start the game again, you’ll continue your progress. Even in dungeons. Excellent development team!
Great mobile game

Real fan of this game
by Flintlock James on 2019/11/07 05:24
Traditional story in elder scrolls fashion! Noticed a daedric prince sneaking around my city! ;) Graphics are phenomenal! Even in portrait mode which I actually prefer shockingly. Not an open world, the dungeons kind of remind me of ES1: Arena. They are fun procedurally generated places. Plenty of building materials and sometimes weapons and armor. Gameplay is fun and challenging! I like the way you get critical hits, brewing, smithing, fighting all done well. Overall this is a very well thought out mobile game with very impressive graphics, fluid gameplay, and fair purchases since the stuff you can buy are in game essentially if you are patient enough. Few are exclusives though and that’s fine.
Good game

Update: Horrible Money Grabbing Game
by Stquincy on 2019/11/06 23:11
Had to update this review again: worst game ever. At this stage it’s no longer playable. Completely unbalanced and money grabbing. This game should be removed from the App Store, and I’m filing a complaint (several, actually, to different agencies). You won’t see this, because the developers remove all negative reviews. Do not download this game and ESPECIALLY don’t spend real money on it. Unfortunately, I did. At Level 41 all of the jobs are recommended for a higher level, as well as the Abyss. Developers don’t respond and delete negative reviews. That’s why all you see are “great” reviews.
Absolutely Awesome !!’
by Vandenplas on 2019/11/06 21:10
Excellent graphics for this Dungeon Crawler. And the development to the town you preform make more than just a hack and slash. Thx Bethesda, hope you would but this out on PC
Can’t open the game

Useless.
by SirCoxsone on 2019/11/06 12:54
Finally able to smith dwarves gear. Now it crashes any time I try to equip. Absolutely worthless. Now with the 89mb update this morning, crashes constantly when in town.
way too hard without $$$
by soundfanatic on 2019/11/06 11:30
I just don’t see the point in this game anymore. It’s not even fun, it has become another chore to stress over and I don’t need that from a game. It is impossible to progress in this unless you have deep pockets to pay for those daedric artifact weapons. The “easy” quests are insanely hard to beat even with fairly good gear and upgraded skills because the enemies become so overpowered and way too fast at attacking. I firmly believe this is to force you to use your revives and spend all of your gems. I keep having to do easy jobs when they pop up to feel like I’m even getting anywhere in the game. It becomes really repetitive and extremely disheartening. (thanks for deleting my previous review! i’ll keep coming back tho!)
Waste of time
by fourfourfourfourfourfourfour on 2019/11/06 02:29
Beautiful game, engaging... but not worth the glitches. Logged on one day to find my character and progress gone.
Waste of time
by ODone321 on 2019/11/06 02:09
I made it to level 54 somehow playing on and off and hoping updates would make the game better. It’s so repetitive. The quests are cool but they are so very few and far between. The skull rating system for jobs and especially arena fights is so off a lot of times. I would definitely say it’s not worth investing your time. Once you get to this level there is no way to get dragon scales and bones to improve your gear so your pretty much done.
I can’t get in

Awesome Game Until it Erased My Character
by sushagluar on 2019/11/05 19:55
My review had been five stars but after some serious issues I decided to revise this. I would occasionally have issues with the game resetting. After reading the support I just had to play through the reset game and then log in to Bethesda.net and replace with my original character. It was a little inconvenient but I dealt with it. Then after quite a few times of having to do this over a month, one time I went to log in after this glitch. It didn’t give me the option to select my original character and completely overwrote it. I tried clearing cache, uninstalling and reinstalling all to no avail. I was at level 38 and was having a blast up to that point, but this wrecked it for me. I’d expect an early access game to have some bugs but this was a little too far. Maybe if I hear about this being fixed I’ll consider playing it again.
Completely Unplayable!
by Mishra's Shadow on 2019/11/05 19:39
UPDATE: Just downloaded a 90mb update and now the game can’t even get past the first loading screen! The app says it works with iPhone 7 but it obviously DOESN’T! DELETING! Bethesda needs to give up on these stupid online games - better yet, sell the Elder Scrolls and Fallout rights to a developer who will actually put effort into their games and treat their fans right! The most recent update made this game literally unplayable. Barely 10 seconds after the game loaded it crashed! Pretty sure I lost the contents of the gold chest I was in the middle of opening too! After wasting 5 mins waiting on loading screens, the game crashes so I don’t even have enough time to check my inventory to see if I did keep the items. I thought the point of updates was to IMPROVE the game, not make it WORSE! Anyone spending money on this game is just supporting their greed and laziness!
Fun to play but....
by captain boat sinker on 2019/11/05 18:10
It was fun to play when you start out but very quickly lost interest. Not enough ways to restore life and the merchants don’t seem to have money to purchase stuff from you. Plus having to wait to open a chest is just plain stupid.

Overpowered Necromancers
by Jsb2000 on 2019/11/05 13:42
The game is awesome, but magic-users are definitely overpowered. I have all sorts of magical defenses and they do not stop poison attacks at all. Definitely and oversight on the developer’s part.
This is normally five stars for me...
by Jdheuhdud on 2019/11/05 11:24
However, they need to release an update to fix the river snake quest line. It’s not been working for quite sometime for me. I’ve played since early release, and for the most part, this game is amazing. If you’re wondering whether or not to get it, do it. Start your game and by the time you reach where I’m stuck they might have a fix out. Seriously good game, minus the microtransactions they push.
Fun
by archephoto on 2019/11/05 11:20
It’s pretty good so far, but I would like to choose a class like mage, archer, and warrior. Not being able choose is weird, also the combat is abit easy you really don’t have to block and you can’t move while in combat so there not much difficulty, so a difficulty setting would be nice. Also a campaign or a progressive story would be nice, I been playing for a few days and beside the intro there not much to the story. For an early access game it’s not bad, can’t wait to see what it’s like after a few major updates.
I haven’t played long...
by Blodheift on 2019/11/05 09:54
I haven’t played long, I’m only level 9, but what I see I love. An interesting mix of dungeon crawl and build-your-own-town, it keeps things from getting stale. Decorate your town however you choose, and go out adventuring to find valuable resources to build your city, or build shops so your smiths, alchemists, and enchanters can help you on your quest. You can even build decorations for your town, or find valuable decorations on your adventures. It’s got the detail and graphics you would expect of an Elder Scrolls game, and I haven’t found any bugs yet. The combat is basic, and similar to some other apps like Blood and Glory, but with added systems to make it more complex. The whole game kind of gives off the Oblivion vibe, with the easy to navigate menus and the way they feel it definitely has the nostalgia factor. Definitely will be playing for a while.

Joyless grind
by krby2 on 2019/11/05 03:28
I have been an Elder Scrolls fan for a long time and was quite excited when this game was announced. The visuals are nice and the gameplay isn’t bad but I find the game virtually unplayable. It’s a miserable, joyless grind made intentionally this way so that you’ll spend real money on chests and whatnot to make the game actually fun. This is some of the worst monetization in a game I’ve ever seen and honestly nothing about this game really captured me or even began to justify spending anything on it.
Negative reviews of this game are SHAMEFUL!
by piecrustmaster on 2019/11/04 20:48
I’ve seen a lot of reviews toting this game as a “cash grab” and even “a vision of the dystopian future of games”. These people should hang their heads in shame and stop calling themselves serious gamers. You are not required to spend a dime in this game, and if you do, it’s because you’re so accustomed to the first world solution of buying what you want instead of earning it, that it is YOU and not game devs, who are ultimately responsible for any future dystopia. This game currently has no PVP elements, so don’t tell me it’s pay to win. I have been playing this game for roughly a month, and spent 10 dollars to support the devs. Once. I’m level 36, I have saved up 2 elder cheats, 22 golden, and have gear that makes 5 scull missions easy. WHERE is the “cash grab?” Are you spending money on revival scrolls? Just restart the mission and finish it, like we used to back in the arcade days (which cost a quarter, FYI). Are you spending money on chests? That’s on you! The loot you get from free chests is plenty, you don’t need to pay for legendary chests, which are only giving you loot scaled to your current level anyway. Wait a few levels and the loot you’re hoping to get from a legendary chest will show up in gold chests in abundance! This game may not be perfect, but the gaming community has become such a cesspool of whining, wealthy, “I can’t say no to a good sales pitch” babies. Grow a pair, play the game, don’t spend your money if you don’t want to, and keep your comments constructive, because we’re all embarrassed for you.

I would enjoy seeing more building options added; such as a tavern, guard post, temple, etc. I’m glad I gave this game a try! I’m truly hooked! I wonder if the game will expand with a dock since I can see one from the East side of the town!
Amazing game
by Shzdow$ on 2019/11/04 15:51
This game is completely amazing. I’ve been playing since it came out, and it’s one of the best mobile games I own. Only thing is I wish it had multiplayer, but hopefully that can be added in the future, but it isn’t a big requirement. Other than that, the leveling system is great, and the abundance of quests and jobs you can accept and accomplish is awesome. Definitely on my top 5. Thanks Bethesda! :$
I absolutely love this game. It’s really fun.

Intrusive cash grab
by Mattsbud on 2019/11/04 04:21
I can get over the fact that this game really isn't an Elder Scrolls game. It has no open world exploration, no sneak attacks, no guilds, no ranged attacks, no stealth, etc. That's frustrating but not game breaking. What I can't get over is the fact that this game is nothing but an aggressive cash grab. You're constantly bombarded with "special offers" and you need premium currency to do almost anything. Developers have a right to be compensated for their work but this is a weak game that is little more than a cash grab.
Compatibility issue
by Riddick McNip on 2019/11/04 03:27
I have an IPhone 7 running IOS version 12.6.2 and yet upon opening it tells me my device is not compatible. I’ve had this issue with another app so it may be my phone but it does in fact say that it requires only IOS 11 to run so if it is in fact something just on my end I’d like to know but from what I know and have seen I can only assume it is an issue with the app. I can give 3 stars even if I figure out it is just on my end because the game looks phenomenal but it is a shame that this is an issue. Thanks for reading the Review if you do.
Fun But Saving Issue
by Rqaw on 2019/11/04 02:16
This game has been very fun, brings me back to playing older elder scrolls games. Really my only gripe is that sometimes I open the app and I’ve lost progress and have to redo part of a quest.

Lousy
by Saga rash on 2019/11/03 02:08
I love the Elder Scroll series. The games are always unique and entertaining, but this is the most annoying and constantly crashing game Bethesda has ever created. I could barely get a character created, and good luck actually finishing a quest.
Frustrated 😡👎
by Chikwitch on 2019/11/03 00:33
Like the game, but I’ve been in this quest that I have completed, gotten the chests, saved the townsfolk, killed all the bands, the blue trail mist to follow is gone, yet it keeps telling me I have a townsfolk to save. I guess s/he glitched when running back to town and didn’t compute that they were saved. If I “quit to town” I am I going to lose that quest? It says I can’t redo it if I leave. I’ve tried Bethesda support over and over and have gotten ZERO response. I HATE COMPANIES THAT EXPECT YOU TO RELY ON THE EXPERIENCE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS ON A “Community Help” rather than actually helping their customers themselves. Getting ready to delete app if they can’t give me the time of day. This might be a free app, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t spent a LOT of money on your games on another platform.

A Loot Box Grind
by Aurans on 2019/11/02 16:51
Tried this game when it was first released and was so frustrated by the technical issues, I deleted it. Recently, I decided to try it again and very much enjoyed it up until Level 12. At that point, I hit a wall. I could finish missions because I needed health potions. I couldn’t craft health potions because I couldn’t get the required ingredients. The in-game vendor who sells potions and ingredients had only a few at very high prices. There was never enough of anything I needed to inch towards success. The game just became increasingly less than fun until I eventually deleted it again. It’s beautiful, but I’d rather play a less quality game with micro transactions.
Love this series
by GainGreeen on 2019/10/01 03:09
I have loved and played this series for a while now. They are notoriously detailed and isn’t the kind of game you can rush through in a Ref Bull binge on Saturday night. That’s actually the cool part to me. I’ve spent like 10 bucks and really didn’t have to but I was so impatient and excited to play that I just pulled the trigger on it. I’m level 11 now and it absolutely got a lot harder on me quickly and suddenly. My town is level 5 because I only recently started concentrating on upgrading it. It changes a lot of the game up and provides more options for quests. I’ve got okay armor, green shield with fire resist, a legendary sword that is pretty sweet and a green pendant. It’s a little harder to find premium gems than I’d like on quests but as you level up they award you with decent bags of them. Graphically it looks identical to the console version of the game. Only request I have for developers is to make the 3rd person zoom out option available like on the console version of the game. I’m just WAY more of a third person RPG’er than first person. I’m an older gamer and first person makes me dizzy sometimes. JS. Please keep working on this because I’m hooked and can’t wait to see where this goes. I played Order n Chaos for 3 years and would grind for hours to get what I needed to upgrade stuff. I also spent about 2,000 bucks on stuff but felt that every dollar was worth it. Don’t regret any of it. This could be my next “every free second” RPG.
Perfect for mobile
by inkdupskin on 2019/06/20 12:23
I've played this for awhile now. I also read all the reviews where people are saying is boring or hard around level 9. Here's the deal, this game is awesome if played correctly I'm currently level 24, with my town about level 7 ( just a bit under ), I don't know if people are not building their towns up, but that actually expands the game, brings in new missions, upgrading shops gives better options to craft or buy with in game currency. Early on when things are easy upgrade your inventory slots and chest capacity with the free premium gems they give you ( I get a lot free fighting in the dungeons) I have over 700 now, never bought anything. Time your chest timers around your work day, open gold while you sleep, never run into waiting issues. As far as combat and complaining about dying, here's a tip get the healing dodge and upgrade it, choose your talents and perks wisely, craft health absorbing armor and jewelry, with the right loadout, and proper potion planning, no quest is too difficult, the challenging ones are harder because they're supposed to be, you'll have a wonderful feeling of accomplishment when they drop a free legendary chest on you. I'm level 24, all eleven gear, rings and necklace, usually have 15-20 various chests to cycle through, over 700 premium gems saved up from free drops, haven't spent a dime of real life currency. Play smart play often, this is an unbelievable free offering from the elder scrolls franchise!!!!
Fantastic, fantastic!!!
by Johnny Johnny Sykes on 2019/08/01 16:38
I played for a month before writing this review because I understand it is still a beta release, Blades, in my opinion is by far the best game on a cellphone and trust me that I should be a critic I have played and deleted thousands of games. With all that being said Blades has amazing graphics that I would expect on a console, the gameplay is amazingly polished especially because you can tell they are improving it daily, when I first started Blades would shut down or freeze every so often (once a day) and now I cannot remember the last time that has happened. The pace of the game seems perfect to me as some days I don’t have as much time I will open the treasure chests and construct new buildings in my city and on the days I want to grind for gold, material or weapons etc etc... Blades surely lets me decide my own pace. I believe Bethesda is by far the best game developing company ever to make games so this is not a impartial review, I already knew I would love this game as I have from everything they have ever released. So far the only thing I would like added to Blades is the ability to change between first person and third person as so many of Bethesda games have done in the past, it is amazing that this game is free because I dropped many other games off of my phone, Blades is all I need. Thank you Bethesda and also a thanks goes out to whoever read this book I just wrote.
Entertaining
by Tug Boat Builder on 2019/06/21 02:00
The game is entertaining and can easily be finished with f2p. P2P will obviously have a massive advantage, but this is almost completely mitigated late game. The game becomes repetitive and a grind after level 35ish, which is fine for me and many other players, but may not be your ideal game. As a higher level it will take hours of gameplay for a single level with the game only currently having a few different maps and job types; maybe 40 different jobs in total. The mission difficulty is currently far to easy as once you can make the top gear you can stand still against the hardest enemies in a job for a full minute before they will kill you; add in abilities that heal/mitigate damage and they can't harm you. The developers are actively updating, but are sadly making the game easier and easier. Overall I am happy giving it a 5 star since it has entertained me and will continue to entertain me for many hours. I would suggest to the developers to make the game harder, and perhaps add in kill stats to know how many kills you have and damage you have done. Perhaps in in-game dossier to see enemy stats. My biggest issue is that the level-up rewards are completely unbalanced and worthless. 300,000 experience for a level and 5 grand soul gems was rather disappointing and should either be converted to far higher amounts or simply give us gems.
Strong Start
by Supahfly90 on 2019/06/19 04:30
Currently this game is in Early Access as I write this review. As a long time fan of the Elder Scrolls series I had my guard up when starting this game. It’s not an open-world as you might expect. It’s quite linear where you have to upgrade your town after it’s been destroyed and you do this by completing quests and jobs to collect gold, materials, and equipment for your character. So it has all of the basic RPG elements. The reason why I have given it five stars is because of how well the system works on a mobile game. Most mobile games are terrible in my opinion and this one has quality. There are the options to open up chests quicker and have more inventory slots and gold by paying real money, but you don’t feel as if you have to pay real money to actually progress and enjoy the game. Just be patient. The graphics are truly incredible for a mobile game and the ability to seamlessly switch from portrait to landscape mode and have the game keep up is impressive. I do wish there was more variety to the dungeon layouts as well as to the settings for the dungeons. Such as having open layouts where you don’t feel like you’re going in such a linear path and I think it would give it more of an “open world” feel.
Beautiful money pit
by Brindlehund on 2019/10/13 20:12
I am at level 36, so have spent time and money on this game. It is fun and frustrating. Game play is good, I like the way you can combine spells and weapons play. Graphics are beautiful. It is worth just looking around in the game. The money pit is subtle. It is hard to find or buy the ingredients for health potions and they are rare in chests. Healing skills are not easy to use, and unless you only do easy quests and jobs, you will need health potions, lots of them. Many jobs are over your level. With health potions you can tackle them, but without them you can only handle the lower level jobs. At this point, I have spent serious money on the game and still have a stack of jobs too difficult for my character. You can buy missing ingredients with gems and you can buy gems with real money. You will eventually have to spend money, lots of it, to challenge yourself. A smaller frustration is you cannot use even high level two handed weapons on enemies near your level. Neither the two handed weapon, nor your spells will offer sufficient defense. Another frustration is the merchants never seem to have enough gold to buy the loot you don’t need, and if you sell low level supplies, you will have a really tough time finding them later on. This means you need a large pack. You can increase your pack size with skill points or gems. You will get a few gems in the game, but not as many as you need. Best phone game around, but expensive.
Great start

I think its fun and it's got potential. Obviously right now there's not a lot of variety and some parts are pretty unbalanced, but it looks beautiful and reminds me of the console games without just trying to copy them (although i was a little sad the bears weren't tougher). I think y'all did a great job so far, and here's just a few more specific suggestions I hope y'all consider: 1. Quick weapon/shield swap button in combat. Considering the dungeons currently consist entirely of walking up to enemies and fighting them one on one, the fact that in challenging missions you often need to open up the menu to optimize your loadout for every other battle is kind of a pain. Eg, the way most crypt levels are all wights and skeletons, which have the exact opposite resistance/weakness. Does it remind me of the console games? Yeah. Is it still annoying? Yeah. A button in the corner to quick swap your loadout would be awesome. 2. Library or something. I'm sure y'all are working on lots more buildings already, but i'd just like to suggest that one hold the information on enemy weaknesses, resistances, abilities etc. It's just confusing to try to remember the tips. You could even make it quest based, like the researcher guy says go kill 10 wights and he'll add them to the library or whatever. Just an idea to add more variety to the town and help the player keep track of all the game elements.
Fix it

This game has great potential but it’s not there yet , I have been playing a couple of days now and I’ve noticed that it’s very hard to continue with out paying money as far as graphics go it’s wonderful but it still lags and glitches a lot , the thing that bothers me is that I was on a level that 4/5 skill and that’s not that hard but I killed 4 troll who had hit/attacked a lot more than the last but even though I have a full bar of health I some how die from two hits?, not to mention almost every time I tried to hit a button to use my magic or my abilities it wouldn’t let me , the game has so much potential but what bothers me is you have to pay to win . The features I wish they would add are some of the simple ones that I think would make a really big difference and let the player enjoy the game more , like being able to carry around food that would be awesome one level I only had two things to eat and ultimately ended up losing , I wish you could find more building materials sometimes if I’m luck I could get like 3 maybe 4 on a quest or job , I also feel they could maybe allow followers that would be cool but this game has a lot of potential. Thanks for making a game like this for the phone but I hope to see you improve it in the future I wouldn’t mind if you had to pay like 10 bucks for a full game like Skyrim kinda rather than pay like 100+ to get what I need to complete a level then ultimately pay more plus some in the future.
Huge potential

So far, I’m really enjoying this game. The combat is unique, way different from what I would have ever expected. It’s a really good surprise. I like the combat a lot, and since this is a mobile game, it makes it easy to use, so it’s not overwhelming you just trying to get one hit in like some other games I have played. Story isn’t too engaging just yet, but I’m only level 9 as of writing this. The chest unlocking feature, I’ve seen this a lot and I quite frankly enjoy opening silver chests, since they’re worth they hour long wait. Gold chests are also exciting to open. Wooden chests almost always have resources I badly need to build up my town. When I get new items, I’m actually just constantly checking if stuff gets easier so I can have more of a challenge, and progress in this good game. Building up a town to unlock missions is a way to make you prepared for other missions and an easy way to add new characters into the story, so as you develop your city, so does the story. This is a great idea, glad you did it. Great mobile game, easy to learn how to play and what you do, and it’s really fun. Okay, a big thing that I think can change is the quest system. So far it’s just repeating the same thing, but in different areas for slightly different reasons, over and over for progress in the game. I guess that’s not so bad, so keep up the good work.
A little disappointed
by Defcon106 on 2019/05/21 16:26
This game is actually pretty good and very pretty. The combat is actually a little less clunky than Skyrim somehow, but also really slow. I know it’s a mobile game so I’m willing to forgive that, but you can’t move while you fight, which I don’t fully understand. The reason I’m only giving this 3 stars is the network issues. You’d think that Bethesda would have learned from fallout 76 that a always connected game is garbage, but it is mobile and therefore a cash grab. They always want to offer you things in the store, even during single player quests, so you always have to be connected. I have a few spots I like to play games that don’t have the best connection, like the subway and I can’t play this one at all. I miss my gameboy, where the whole game was right there to play and enjoy, we just don’t get that anymore because of online shops. It’s just sad because this could be a really fun game, but I’ll probably get bored with all the waiting for loading so I’m probably not going to bother spending anything on it. All the stuff you buy is just for materials and gear that you could get from rewards for the quests, but you can’t do the quests unless you have a great connection. I even got dropped from a quest because of a weak connection and lost 5 gems (the premium currency). Give me an offline mode and I’ll probably continue playing. At least there are no ads.
A pretty money pit
by Agamemnerd on 2019/08/02 13:42
Without spending money, you’ll progress slowly in this game. My typical experience is dungeons will give you about 1500 gold and cost 2000 gold in repairs on your armor and weapons – logging in daily for free handouts will offset this if you were happy only actually play once a week., Materials are rarely available at vendors – upgrading vendors upgrades their materials but they stop selling the ‘older/common’ stuff when in fact they should have more of that stuff - which you need for tempering/enhancing your armor and weapons... The game will actually punish you if you upgrade your town past what your current level is in terms of the armor and weapons you would like to forge or upgrade. I hope this gets fixed. The other option is spending gems for materials you can’t really farm, can’t buy from vendors, and only drop rarely during play – pay to win(ish). It’s a beta game; I hope they rebalance it so that paying to win is an option but not a requirement; right now it pretty much is a requirement. Biggest gripe: vendors that are upgraded offer better stuff in terms of weapons, armor, potions, materials; they need to continue to offer even more of the older stuff that they originally sold. Having to use gems to pay for Dwarven ingots because my blacksmith only sells ebony is ridiculous.
Amazing game
by Ho Really? on 2019/06/22 02:58
Being a person who really enjoys dungeon crawler games, I find this to be an awesome game. A lot of people are complaining about level 10+ being too hard, but the game isn’t hard AT ALL. If you need gold or building resources go to the ‘job’ tab under the quests section and you will typically get 1 star or two star difficulty jobs that reward equipment and other goodies. Don’t try and win quests that are 5 star because they were made to be difficult to lower level players. Upgrading gear can help make fights a lot easier as well. Consider crafting gear with better stats, or temper your weapon/armor piece for increased stats. If it is possible, upgrade your blacksmith to unlock better items in the shop and under the craft section. Another frequent complaint is that chests take too long to open. Don’t ever open golden/silver chests as soon as you start playing the game, because you will be unable to open other chests until the timer expires. You can always increase your storage space for gems by pressing the plus button. This game is a really great game with good gameplay and amazing graphics. I would definitely suggest this to anyone who is looking for something fun to play.
Unenjoyable reward structure
by Quartz Collector on 2019/05/06 20:29
While Blades provides some level of satisfying dungeon crawler gameplay with the combat, earning the rewards is not at all a fun experience. Being unable to open any of the chests I find during a dungeon run because I have a 1 or 6 hour timer running on opening a better chest is disappointing. The changes to silver chests have helped with the bloat on chest capacity, minorly, but requires that I spend more time worrying about timers. Collecting the variety of materials needed to construct buildings, craft weapons and armor, or potions is dull as it is either through chests or jobs, the repeatable grind of side-missions. The main quest does provide needed materials early on, but is hardly a reliable source later. Blades feels most like a lootbox collector, and the result is that the moderately enjoyable gameplay lost its value once I felt like I was stuck in a pointless loop. Do a quest or a job, collect chests and sparse materials, open chests and/or spend materials on crafting or building, repair and repeat. The ultimate goal of that cycle is to... enable the continuation of that cycle, but with better gear and buildings to provide you with the game’s RPG mechanics. Many games do this, Blades has done it poorly if it has made me so painfully aware of its gameplay loop without offering something of substance. Perhaps its a limitation of conventional mobile game design, which is a shame, because the hardware can handle much more than the standard.
Solid for early access. I hate pay to play
by "Darius" on 2019/05/05 21:55
This is a wonderful mobile version of elder scrolls. Pretty, entertaining, and just plain fun. It’s simple, but something you can thoughtlessly sink a few hours into. Which is fortunate because if you’re not willing to sit through some clash of clans style build times, you’re gunna have yourself a bad time. The biggest problem is everything in the game past level 5 is a half an hour or more to accomplish anything, and buildings feel useless and meaningless more often than not. The quests are a little repetitive, but nothing we haven’t seen before. The biggest problem is that after gearing up after 20 hours of blacksmithing decent armor, you find yourself at a wall. At around level 9 i found the most severe difficulty spike of any game in recent memory. Every fight in the game went from “yeah if you swing enough they’ll die and you take no damage” to “if you don’t have at least 1 potion per enemy you’re gunna die even if you perfect shield everything” I’ve tried grinding and leveling up, but honestly the armor and quest differential is insignificant compared to the jump in power of enemies. While i seriously enjoyed the first few mindless hours of gameplay, i wish there either was no difficulty spike, or it came in late game. Not when it feels like you’ve barely gotten anything done after 7 hours.
Limited
by hftvdjffg on 2019/05/17 02:16
I’ve been a fan of the Elder Scrolls since the 90’s, and i am so sorry that I don’t have better things to say about this game. The graphics are beautiful, but the game play is limited. Movement is limited. You can’t run, jump, climb, fly, swim, or go outside the limited fixed paths. You must fix up a town that no one will ever see. The town is small and there is only one. You can’t leave your town and explore the world. You never journey anywhere. There are no maps. You can’t make your own house or go inside any buildings. There is little to no freedom or creativity. The players still don’t talk. The dialog is prescribed. The quests are limited. My battles the first day are just like my battles after 21 levels. The same monsters are just harder to fight, so all my extra armor, better skills, magic weapons are all nullified. It does offer some variety in the way you can fight an opponent and you can develop a little more skill when fighting. But you can’t run away from an opponent, use any of the environment to your advantage, use any sort of missile weapon, sneak up on an opponent, or have any other outcome than either you die or they die. I’m saddened that I game isn’t more fun to play; I really wanted it to be great. It’s a fraction of the same old game and not as fun.
Game review a plus
by Jay D B on 2019/09/13 00:14
I didn’t see a lot of marketing for this game but over all the graphics are great. Combat wise it general but the different things you can do make it interesting. Spells, different weapons, different armor, abilities, and 3 a skills trees (spells, perks, and abilities). I haven’t gone through a lot of the story but so fare it seems interesting and holds me into the game. My only dislike is the time it takes for treasure chests to open. 5seconds for wood chest, 1hr for silver, 6hrs for gold. There are 2 more chests that I have yet to get but I can assure you it’s a much longer time frame. I’m used to games where the vendor has unlimited money to buy my vendor trash but these don’t. They have a limited amount that increases when you purchase items, over time, or an upgrade. I enjoy building my own town in addition to the customizing with added features. It just gets more expensive and material needy the higher your town prestige gets. This is of course a free to play game with in-app purchases but it is not a pay to win. I’m currently at level 23 and have yet to spend a dime of real-world currency. I would enjoy this game even more if they would just change the vendor buys and the timer on the chests.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Bethesda!
by ust00pid on 2019/06/13 21:15
As it turns out, this really is the best mobile game in history! I was one of the few folks lucky enough to play early access and I love EVERYTHING about the game. Having a reason to put it down once you reach a chest cap, having to grind 10x as hard as paying players for a chance at the good loot/items and you guys making grinding seem like something worth picking up the phone and opening the app. I wrote a 4 star review before, after the E3 update, but as it turns out I misunderstood an in game mechanic. I was ready weeks ago to write a 5 star beaming review and didn't have time. I got time today! If you don’t love this game, I respect your opinion. Don’t mind me, I’ll be over here with my dragon plate armor and lvl 10 buildings 🙌🏾. If you can’t see yourself competing with pay to win players, this is not for you. If all you want is a mainstream video game company to give their all to make the best mobile version of their catalog then you are welcome!!! Thank you Bethesda and everyone involved. Not just for letting me play early, but for getting this sooo right. You can’t please everyone, but you sure did right by me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Very well done.
Entertaining and fun, but money grab
by M1key-_- on 2019/09/08 13:45
This is a fun RPG for mobile but this game will just about force the player into spending actual money to continue your positive experience. I’m level 25 and I have had no issues, up until this point. After playing for about 2 weeks, I’ve noticed my chest stash is continuously building up. I cannot keep up with the gold chests and silver chest, to the point where I no long have room for more chest that I find in quests. I have even spent premium gems to increase chest stash size, but the amount of chests continue to grow. I have 16 golden chests and 14 silver chests. How am I supposed to open all the gold chests and open up slots for new chests? Each gold chests requires 6 hours to open: 14 x 6 = 84 hours. That’s over 3 days folks, and that’s assuming one would begin unlocking a chest immediately after one has been open, but that is unreasonable. Add in the silver chests and it’s over 4 days. If I continue playing, I will consistently have to stop playing quests and completely focus on opening chests for 3 to 4 days at a time to clear my chest cache... watching a timer is not fun. Why can’t we choose to delete chests? Deleting a chest should be a no-brainer and should be a decision that the player makes. It would be even better if we could sell them but again, this is a strategic money grab to force the player into opening these.
Has promise but...
by OldManGenX on 2019/05/16 13:19
The good: Graphically this game doesn't disappoint. Controls are finally customizable, but incomplete. There needs to be additional options to hot swap weapons and quick use of poisons/potions. The initial story line is decent enough to keep you interested until ~level 30. I do like the town building feature, but I would also like some option for switching building positions. Overall game play fighting is fluid, even when playing in portrait or landscape. The bad: Does require a stable internet connection. If your phone switches to different wifi signals automatically, you'll need to re-sync. Typical P2W options, but not necessary for initial and mid game. The ugly: End game design needs thorough vetting. Gear repair costs escalate significantly, but gold accumulation from mobs or jobs falls well short of what's required to maintain gear. No option to disenchant gear to recoup some materials and try to re-enchant gear. High end materials for enchanting and crafting are only achievable by opening chests. Gear rewards for chests do not align with character level, especially for the top two chest options. As a result, the grind for decent end game gear is out of reach. End game design warrants skill tree focus on health management as a requirement, and therefore limits flexibility with how gear should be enchanted to maintain survivability.
Good game with some small flaws
by ktamb on 2019/09/18 11:33
I was pleasantly surprised by how much you can do on this game. It has quests and a bit of a story and crafting. It’s not completely open world but it is a mobile game not a console. I’ve spent a lot of time enjoying this game and I will continue to. There are two flaws that I have noticed from the beginning. There is one flaw that I think can be fixed and one that probably can’t. It won’t stop me from playing though. The first flaw is in combat. The way the combat is designed there are too many ways for spells to not work. I like being a spell caster and I feel like spells have been pretty useless especially at low levels. Better to have an enchanted weapon. Spells can be interrupted by you being hit but also if you do something like block or swing a weapon it interrupts the spell too. And you can’t attack something from a distance like a squishy spell caster would do. Weapons are much faster and do more damage with combos. The combat could be fixed though. The bigger problem may not be fixable. Because the game requires a constant link to WiFi I keep getting booted off. Every time I go into the game it takes forever to load and if the WiFi has a hiccup I end up watching the loading screen again.
Elder scrolls on the go
by A.B.Money on 2019/05/05 02:22
First I have played this game since early release , I have not spent a dime of real money and have made it to level 13. The latest update gives gems that you could purchase for easy jobs to complete. This game is simple and fun to play. The controls are easy , one hand tap to go or landscape mode with virtual joysticks. The combat is a simple tap and release timing mechanic that still makes the fights challenging and fun. The quest are a bit repetitive in the job section with easy collecting missions and the enemies seem to be a bit tougher then the mission rates. You are punished for missing a block with low health. However once you access the alchemy shop you can brew potions at a cheap rate. The update made jobs more worthy with bigger rewards for completing. Weapons and armor offer different enchantments and stats that affect enemies differently depending on the type. If you have played any elder scrolls games this is exactly what you could expect for a mobile version. There is even a hometown that you rebuild and add different shops and housing for population growth. The game overall is simple and easy, it picks up wherever you left off after you close your phone and definitely gets you through a bored moment. Worth the download
Repetitive dungeon looting, slow advancement
by Ggggggg3344 on 2019/05/02 05:01
Let’s start positive. The game looks great and plays well on my phone. The enemies are diverse and their resistances/weaknesses make them interesting. Fighting is pretty smooth as well. I liked what I have seen of the storyline. But...I found this game underwhelming. I was hoping for another Morrowind or Skyrim experience, but this is not it. I am a longtime Elder scrolls fan and would gladly pay for another RPG, but the freemium model gets very frustrating, very quickly. I soon hit a point where I was too weak to continue the main quest, and my chest allotment was full. Looting without gaining chests costs more in item repairs than you gain. My options were put the game down or pay. I put it down... for a month. I just got back in out of boredom, but I’m in the same boring spot. Other complaints: the dungeons are very, very repetitive, you have to complete quests in one go and they often backload the difficult enemies. It’s frustrating to spend 10 minutes on a quest and have to repeat it from the start. After a few attempts, it makes you wonder if you’re spending your time wisely. You can sell items to vendors for one-fifteenth of what you buy them for. Basically, my interest ran out of steam because I was not advancing my character enough. I’m still an Elder Scrolls fan and eagerly await their next non-freemium game.
Lots of Potential, but needs some work.
by Trearel on 2019/05/19 03:54
I’ve been playing for a while now (level 22) and I can say that I’ve enjoyed the game. However somewhere around level 15 the game came to an absolute crawl it was like going from 100 to 1 in a matter of 1 level. After crossing that threshold doing the main quests was replaced with having to do a large amount of jobs and Abyss runs in order to get the gear and material needed to progress. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing but there needs to be some balancing done to the story and quest, because there is a lot of time in between the story you kind of forget what was going on. In short it just gets super grindy, like Destiny 1 grindy. I wish I was smart enough to come up with the solution for this, but I’m not one to be the expert on how all that works out. Maybe tone down the difficulty on the quests and creatures. For instance trolls are so bad right now. Their regen is manageable but extremely excessive. And because the game is gear dependent, leveling isn’t really that amazing. That’s just my thoughts over all game is good especially for early access, but I think we have a little ways to go before we are there.
Love this game but something about potions needs to change.
by Power Pringle on 2019/10/16 23:21
Love this game and I’m going to keep this review short, everything is amazing in this game it doesn’t blow anything up for micro transactions and if you ask me you can get a lot of gems with spending money on this game and it makes it fun that it’s now blowing up micro transactions all in your face. But let me talk about potions. Health potions to be clear. Garlic is an common item yet so hard to get. That or lavender. Yeah you have to grind to get items but even the alchemist over prices her stuff and it has mad the game well let’s just say unenjoyable from this part. It’s hard to complete some quests or missions without health potions granted that some of the maps have food lying around the other maps don’t. And it’s extremely hard to grind out missions just so I can make health potions. Chests will sometimes give you garlic or the alchemist ingredients you need which is amazing but I just feel that there should be a constant stock on ingredients at the alchemist and it would be easier to get money and buy ingredients off her instead of sometimes finding key ingredients that are suppose to be “common” to get. Other than that this game is FANTASTIC KEEP IT GOING PLEASE ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kim’s review of Blades
by Persian Leopard on 2019/09/12 12:44
Even though the game is still in the development stage, it’s incredibly well made. The game gives you character customization choices in which you can choose from the ten Elder Scrolls races and have customization choices that mirror those in Skyrim. The game takes place after the Empire has been defeated by the Thalmor, and the player character is the last surviving member of the Blades, who has escaped back to his/her home town only to find it has been razed. These events kickstart the adventure as you work to rebuild your home town and investigate the attack. The graphics are quite good considering that this is a cell phone game. I found myself enjoying both the storyline and the characters with whom you interact. The game isn’t complete yet, so there are lines which are not yet voiced, no map, no 3rd person view available, and in combat your weapons sort of float in that there is no visible hand gripping them. Even though this game is still being developed, I highly recommend it, and despite the above issues, the game is still incredibly complete with both character and town leveling systems.
Only playing because I don’t have Skyrim anymore.
by aeros.mommy on 2019/09/16 06:38
This app is alright, it’s kinda nice to have something similar to Skyrim right on my phone. (I don’t have a ps4 anymore) However I think they need to add a few things to make it perfect. First of all, I get so irritated because of how hard it is to acquire health potions. I only have one alchemist’s shop right now and it’s annoying that they only carry one potion at a time. It takes way too long to get missions done b/c of this, cause you literally struggle to survive. And your gems run out so fast, it’s hard to even buy some that way. (I don’t have actual money to spend on this app) Second, I was really disappointed when I figured out that you can explore outside of the town like in other games. You can only do that if you’re on a mission and I can’t stand it. You feel so confined. I get that it’s mobile so you won’t get much but that’s really limiting the apps potential. And lastly, again, the exploration is so limited. You can’t even go into buildings that are within your city! I’m not extremely far in the game and I know there’s a lot to unlock but the fact that I can’t go into the buildings I create is pretty dumb. Don’t get me wrong this is a fun pastime, but don’t get your expectations too high.
Fine but needs work
by Aurora Roarer on 2019/06/15 23:07
The game so far is enjoyable, though it is annoying how my chest inventory is filled with silver chests that stop me from playing nonstop but I understand why it is that way (make it a litter more time consuming to get the better stuff out of them). I would really appreciate a quicker way to switch weapons out in the middle of battle rather than navigate through 4 screens. I would also appreciate being able to easily choose the order the abilities and spells show on the combat screen, as once I grow use to it being one way if I switch out a skill it will completely mess up the order so instead of healing I use poison on the skeletons. I understand that it is an early access so I do not expect everything to be perfect. I would also appreciate a way to figure out the enemies weaknesses more easily even if it is just navigating through the help log to find it in the middle of combat (instead of learning about them in the quick screen transitions). I would also appreciate some of the smaller things explained in the help log, like when you enchant something you may get a bonus or two abilities. Just some ideas to help the experience.
High potential wasted by timers and bottlenecks
by NickerPL on 2019/06/29 18:39
The game has potential but the way it is designed to bottleneck players with egregious timers is insane... imagine Skyrim with a less compelling world, very basic and boring story, basic combat, very basic and repetitive level design, and most importantly TIMERS that are all over the game and ruin the experience (e.g. you got a good chest reward from a quest and want to open it? Good luck waiting hours until the chest opening timer finishes so you can finally be rewarded with the chest’s contents; you asked the blacksmith to craft you a piece of armor? Good luck waiting until the timer finishes; you want to build a building to improve your city? TIMERS; You want to craft potions? TIMERS; Enchant gear? TIMERS. Et cetera). The way I see it, Bethesda puts the gamer between a rock and a hard place because you can either NOT purchase their expensive currency and suffer, OR you buy the overpriced currency and speed up the timers. Those timers ultimately left me with a feeling of "I’m not willing to invest a year of my time to get through all of this content due to the bottlenecking timers that are delaying me; it would just make me feel like I wasted a year of my life for a very unrewarding experience". Give it a try if you want but personally, I said "hard pass” after a little over a week.
Blades by Bethesda

I have spent no money on this game so far and am already at level 20. There were times when I thought there was nothing to do and jobs were above what I could do but I could always grind it out in the abyss. I’ve swapped out to Orchish equipment and keep a supply of heal potions in case I run in to trouble in the quests. One thing they do not have is dual wielding, but hoping for that later. It’s not as open world as Skyrim but what do you expect for a phone app. I have gone to playing this the most on my phone and have mostly dropped the other apps and maybe will play them if I am tempering or opening a chest. Those that are spending money on this game I think are just impatient. I can wait for things to come available as long as there is something to do. You can jump in and out of the Abyss to go after what you really need and sometimes the quests will give you what you are looking for. Sometimes you can get around the monsters to get the quest done. They will chase after you and sometime you run into another monster down a hall and end up fighting both of them. Great game!
Reviews lie
by CookedbyCarma on 2019/08/23 16:53
This is not for the impatient teenager or middle schooler who wants to play a sword fighting game. This is for the teenager or young adult or even adults in general who enjoy real in depth RPG games. It’s not as in depth as a computer RPG or a console elder scrolls but it is magnificent still. Although one thing I would recommend is a more broad approach to areas you do quests in. It’s pretty much the same dungeons with different or stronger monsters as you progress with the subtle extension during main quests. But still I’ve been playing a week now and I’m level 25 with matching armor, town level 6. You can progress if you take the time to play the game how it’s made to be played. I haven’t spent any real money either, open your gold chests when you sleep, your silver chests whenever you aren’t on the game and your wood chests when you’re playing. Pay attention to the race of your character and the bonuses that come with it. Pay attention to the weaknesses of your enemy. Use your poisons and sometimes take a chance on missions that are max difficulty as they prove to be quite easy sometimes.

So I’ve been waiting well over the 24 hour time period most people say it takes them to get early access. I understand they can’t let everyone on at once, but a little communication on how long I’ll have to wait would be great. Seems like Bethesda is struggling in that department, especially with the confusion about the iPhone 6. I know people say it was on the website, but it really should’ve been on the App Store as well. If they only cater to hardcore fans who crawl on their website every day, they are going to have a hard time staying relevant. Add the fact that it was already released late...you just expect a little better from a major publisher, although that seems to be the the way Bethesda is headed lately. Hope I can change my star rating when I actually get to play the game 🙄 Finally playing game. It’s very fun. Can’t wait for full version to come out. I do hate how there seems to be a response delay after clicking to unlock chests, that makes you accidentally use gems to open them immediately. Seems a little too convenient for that not to be happening by design...either way, they need to fix it.
Repetitive and unbalanced.
by worried4theusa on 2019/06/01 15:23
Having hit lvl 42, the game becomes and endless grind of two things. Dungeon and caves. The same creatures pounding on them till dead. While that may ok if there significant growth in the game after that but the gold reward cost is very low and the armor/weapon repair cost high. It will take over 300k gold to upgrade the smithy to the last level 10 but yet by the time I have completed 3-4 jobs, I would have only made a few hundred in gold. We can choose to not repair anything and go through the game with broken armor but then getting through a 3-5 * job becomes very difficult to survive. Reduce the repair cost significantly and open the game up to new undiscovered lands and then the rating would go up. It could be a fun game but right now it is not living up to its reputation as the Elderscrolls fame we’ve come to enjoy and support. Right now, the only thing I do is check in, get the free daily item and maybe do a challenge. After that, it’s not interesting anymore. Lastly, don’t let these rating fool you. Someone at Bethesda or somewhere else deleted a massive amount of 1* comments to make it appear that this game has overwhelming favor. It does not. Someone is hiding the fact that the game in its present form is boring and badly designed. It has potential but they have been slow to make it interesting.
Love it

My 5 favorite games are Oblivion, Skyrim, Morrowind, Witcher 3 and Dragon Age Origins; so I was so excited to see Blades. I’m not a big fan of games that have in app purchases but so far this is not bad. I have played for about two days. I did purchase one bundle for 4.99 but I don’t feel like I had to to be able to play, and I felt it was worth how much fun I was having. You arrive at your town of birth to find it recently raided and sacked by mercenaries. You get to help find and rescue scattered villagers and help rebuild. Building takes time, sometimes a few hours, opening a chest takes time (5sec for a would expect chest, up to 6hrs real time for a gold chest) or you can use gems that you’ve either found or purchased with real money. If you have the time it’s no big deal. I can see push notifications would be handy to let you know the chest is open. I miss that there is no map feature (unless I just didn’t see it) and no bow. Otherwise I like the combat for it being on my phone. For exploring I like it wide screen and combat I like it tall screen. Great graphics!
Awesome, but keeps crashing
by Moonseeker-the-Cat on 2019/08/14 00:56
This game is truly great, it’s like a pocket Skyrim, which I think was the aim. One of the problems, though, is it ends up being slightly restrictive in gameplay options, due to the health being kinda low compared to damage output by enemies in quests above the easiest rank. It requires you to maximize health in skills, spells, and armor, which can be difficult to do early on. It’s tough to find renewable resources as they change every quest, and the shops don’t always have what you need. (For example, I went on several difficult quests and after a while, finished my health potions. I went to buy and brew some more, and promptly realized I only had enough for two tiny health potions, and there were only three at the shop. It made out for five, and not enough left over for poison resistance.) I might just be doing it wrong, though... The other thing, that I KNOW I’m not doing wrong, is that the app keeps crashing on me. I’ve lost my progress on several quests after crashes. Connectivity doesn’t seem to be a problem, as I have a stable one that doesn’t usually fluctuate. I hope this gets fixed in a future update.
Milking the Franchise
by Chronocyst on 2019/07/28 17:16
I love Elder Scrolls games, and I like Blades, but everything costs way too much for even the simplest things. I understand that app games are designed to make money, but there is a point when the greed of the developer takes all the fun out of the game. You have to work way too hard for very little advance or loot. Example: Why are gems needed to temper equipment? It seems just an excuse to buy more things that don’t seem relevant to what is being done, and even ridiculous items like decorations cost as much as buildings do in the beginning. Everything hyper-inflates in cost as you gain town prestige also. Why? The sheer cost of everything makes me only interested in this game, as a once-in-a-while game to play, as compared to Skyrim... the game I couldn’t put down, and still play to this day. I am disappointed that this franchise is going downhill because of greed. Strike one was making new Elder Scrolls games mmo’s. Playing with idiots online is not fun for me, and takes away from the feeling of being immersed in the fantasy. I feel that Blades is strike two. Skyrim and Oblivion were works of art. Graphics and animations are stunning, but gameplay is being sacrificed. Why ruin the recipe?
This game “should” be a 10 but...
by Guataguano on 2019/05/05 23:23
Blades is an amazing looking game. It’s gameplay is very smooth on my iPhone XS MAX. I preordered this game the day it was announced and have been waiting patiently. I’m in the early access and I was so excited until I needed gems. I’ve been playing a lil game called Star Wars galaxy of heroes for the last 3 years. People complain about their micro transaction but you can still progress. I’m no stranger to dropping a couple of dollars in a game I like but in ESB it’s out of control. Changes need to be made. In Blades, My one “BIG” and only complaint is the micro transactions. CHEESE AND RICE AND ALL THATS HOLY! It’s ridiculous. Just about everything is behind a gem or time wall that cost gems to get through. It’s pretty depressing. I am currently level 22 and I have spent ($40) money since I was granted access. I don’t regret it but it’s at a point now that to progress I have to pay in some way shape or form. That’s not fun. It’s a well made and beautiful game but the micro transactions is ruining my experience. **Update** I’m level 43 now. The game is beautiful. Content has gone pretty dry and the developers seem to have poor communication with the ESB community. Small updates and shadow updates. It’s in a weird place.
Terrible grab and your money!!!
by Maxious1972 on 2019/07/23 17:44
This is the most up front game I’ve seen that is designed to only allow you to continue by dumping more money into the game after original purchase. You literally cannot proceed without buying more from the online store. For starters, you can’t self heal in any real fashion. There’s food but your not allowed to keep any spares you find and don’t need at that time. Never have I seen any RPG that won’t allow you to heal. Therefore, you’re required to use extremely light healings “abilities” and those only work if “timed” right. Your gear will NEVER come for free meaning all the “treasure chest” give is gold, materials for crafting gear, and ALWAYS gear that’s too low for you to use so you sell them...o.O Also, you can level past 50 but there’s point because NOTHING INCREASES. Your health, stamina, magic, and skill points all stay the same. How’s that for further screwing you over. So all in all, it’s a P2P game unless you have no life and spend 10 hours/day playing to collect the materials necessary to craft gear. Have you ever played a game where you’ll never ever find a weapon that’s powerful enough to actually be useful? How about a game that takes weeks to gain the materials for enchanting just to realize your enchant bonus is random. STAY AWAY FROM THE MOST WORTHLESS GAME EVER!!!!
It’s ok
by BlakeBaten619 on 2019/10/24 01:40
It’s a fun game, but why do you have to build stuff and everyone has to do everything for you? You are pretty much useless... you can’t make potions yourself, can’t smelt/craft, can’t enchant; everyone does it for you and you have to spend a bunch of materials from chests that take forever to open (but you can empty your wallet to make it go faster). Oh and if you want to reset your skills/attributes you don’t need to grind for some gold or anything, just give them all your irl money and it’ll be no problem. Also, the liches are sooooo over powered. They regenerate pretty much as fast as you can damage them, making them near invincible, and they do by far the most damage from any other enemy. Balance the game a bit... every time I see a lich, I either leave or try to run around it. Also make something to be able to delete/get rid of chests... I don’t want a ton of silver and gold chests at a time because then I don’t have any room for a lot of wooden chests to open between the longer ones. If you made the game online, you wouldn’t have to make it so pay to play, because people will buy cosmetic stuff (especially if they know that means the game will not be pay to play).
Great Elder Scrolls Fix!
by aph313 on 2019/07/01 21:59
I still play Skyrim frequently, but as only who has played that game knows, one thing leads to another which leads to another which leads to another... Before you know it you’ve sunk 6 hours into the game. Well this is a great pick up and play game where you can play in 10-20 minute intervals without getting completely sucked in (which is fine in moderation). Also it is very convenient to have it on my iPad so I can carry the Elder Scrolls with me anywhere! There are plenty of references to the main Elder Scrolls franchise which is a huge plus as well (look out for Sheogorath). My only complaint is that it is pretty unapologetic in its approach to cutting a profit. I understand, this is a free-to-play app that obviously had many people working on it, but I guess the old fashioned man in me still can’t get used to micro transactions. I will be sure to invest in this game as needed, because the team at Bethesda really does deserve a pat on the back for this one, but I just wish it wasn’t as blatant. I can’t wait to see how the game continues to expand!
Great mobile adaptation of an Elder Scrolls game
by Celebilove on 2019/07/23 01:29
I am relatively new to TES series of games. I just started playing Skyrim last year when a friend gave me her old xbox and a copy of the game, and since then I have learned about and thoroughly enjoyed the expansive gameplay and universe created by the folks at Bathesda. So, when I saw they had come out with a mobile game, I was so pumped! So far, I am a huge fan of this game. The gameplay is great, I love the graphics and the story lines are interesting and I like the added components of building up your town and things like that. I think that, with the limitations of it being a mobile game, it is a wonderful representation of the Elder Scrolls franchise and I really enjoy it! If you are smart with your timing on opening chests and spend your resources wisely, you won’t have to pay any real world money for gems or coins. I haven’t paid a cent, and my character is Lv 26 and I have progressed significantly in several quest lines. Basically, I love this game and I have been suggesting it to everyone I know who likes the Elder Scrolls games!
A game that shows promise
by Ignissus Firebrand on 2019/07/07 00:34
Blades is pretty much as good as TES could get, at this point on mobile, with a few exceptions. I gave the gave 4 stars, nonetheless, due to the immersion the game brings to the table, the graphical detail that pushes current hardware to the max, in some cases, and the sheer joy of the combat and character development functions of the game...but the combat can be bittersweet, at times, due to a current flaw that absolutely must be fixed by devs in order for this to be completely worthy of bearing the name The Elder Scrolls. The touch screen function occasionally and annoyingly detects an attempted weapon swing in the lower right corner of the screen while disabling the ability for you to use your skills and spells!!! This is unacceptable. Also, Elder Scrolls without Lorebooks is not Elder Scrolls at all. This is essential and must be added. Log July 6th 2019: Game is improving, with increased addition of new NPC voices. Still no lorebooks as of yet that I can find. I may not be far enough in though. Game lacks story depth IMO. This may be fixed upon future patches
Good to kill some time
by Houstone on 2019/05/07 20:06
Enjoying it more than I thought. Open the 5sec chests while playing, and save the hour+ ones to click open before logging out. Don’t spend any gems especially during early game. They seem to come pretty regularly, and you’ll have enough for purple or blue legendary chests with amazing equipment. I’ve bought 2 already playing free for a week, and the gear is amazing. You can upgrade all the gear in game from white(worst) to purple(best) Try to save your revive spells for Abyss which unlocks early. Don’t push your luck if you aren’t leveled & geared. I accidentally used all mine early reviving & dying to the same enemy. Go to Abyss once you have an alchemist who can make you more healing potions. Each level deeper gives you XP & Gold modifier. While every 4 or 5 enemies killed gives you better & better chests, and crafting items. I’ve had no need to spend money on it, but if I’m still playing in a month I’ll drop $5 just to pay for the game if i continue to enjoy it. 1 star off as I have only seen a few interior assets, and only 1 tile sets. More could be further in though.
Can’t give it five stars yet.
by mythran on 2019/05/01 21:08
This game has beautiful graphics and an intuitive movement system that seems easy to get used to. Ive been playing for about a month on early access and have enjoyed the game for the most part. Micro transaction games are the unfortunate norm and this is no exception. My main gripe is the real dollar cost of items offered. 10$ for an epic weapon that you will have to replace quickly is a bit excessive even for an adult such as myself. The other annoying bit is the skull difficulty rating. Getting suckered into a daily job where a cave troll is the first creature you are challenged with is not cool. I can kill most things with my character but not the cave trolls. They seem a bit too tough to show up against a level 20 character wearing exquisite dwarves plate armor and easily kill that that character while it carries a nice shield. I do not enjoy a challenge but that is frustrating. Maybe some adjustments are still needed. I play ESO and loved Skyrim. I had high hopes for this game and preordered it. I’m not thinking this one will be one I play for very long due to the cost.
Good game and getting better
by Aaron233rd on 2019/06/15 20:13
So far, every update is improving the game, keeping it balanced, and keeping my attention. The most recent update with jewelry has been great. I appreciate the way the game structured so you are not forced to purchase anything to enjoy all parts of the game. The last update did motivate me to make a purchase just out of appreciation. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because it’s still in ‘Early Access’ but I’m looking forward to more improvements and the Arena being unlocked. If I can make a suggestion: expand the Challenges to include one Dailey and one Weekly challenge to mirror the daily and weekly quests. These challenges could reward a level appropriate item or materials instead of gold just to make it different. The challenges could be as simple as completing a certain number of regular challenges, a certain number of jobs, or it could be the same as the current challenges but with higher much requirements. I think that might be an easy way to improve the game. I love what you’re doing with it to date, keep it up!
Difficulty Spikes
by sonofdog55 on 2019/05/07 19:07
I should preface this by saying I’m a huge fan of other Elder Scrolls titles, so I went into this with open eyes. I was excited by the idea of being able to explore this universe, even if it was abridged, on my phone, and at first I enjoyed it; quests and jobs were satisfying if a little repetitive, real-world time delays got a little annoying, but overall it was a fun little game to play for a few hours. Now though, I’ve hit an absolutely insane difficulty spike, after playing for maybe two days (level 12). In what seems to be some sort of overcorrection, where in earlier levels enemies were quite easy or at least not absurdly challenging, once you get to the Bloodgaurd story line the quests become insane. Even the jobs are impossible, including those ranked very low in difficulty. It gets to the point were after two enemies I’ve either got to spend all of my health potions or I’ve essentially resigned myself to an early exit. This won’t work, it doesn’t keep people coming back to the game, it’s unduly frustrating, and it takes away from actually engaging with the plot and in tinkering with your town.
Excellent Elder Scrolls app!!!
by Bacon Juice on Toast on 2019/09/13 12:22
If you liked Skyrim, and wish you could play from your phone, this one’s for you. The game uses many meshes, items, and even voice actors from the popular Skyrim game. That makes this feel like a well-made Skyrim mod. The major difference is that this is NOT an open-world game. iPhone apps juuust can’t handle that. So instead imagine being trapped in Helgen. You can only leave to complete repetitive “dungeons”, and you must rebuild the burnt-up town. Dungeons seem to be a randomly generated series of sections that may repeat and two dungeons may be very alike, but they ARE beautifully detailed. Enemies are also repetitive. Finding chests is like a gift/curse combo because yay stuff, but you have to wait a very VERY long time to open some chests, and they pile up. I guess the app wants to make some money which is the purpose of most apps, it I think this will shortly become unplayable if I don’t pay because of the limited space for chests. Anyway for now it’s just awesome to have some fun, well-made Elder Scrolls content! So over all, despite my impending chest problem, I LOVE IT!!!
Has great potential, great game
by Stud Muffin707 on 2019/10/04 22:36
Been hooked for a month like everyone else before I wrote a review and graphics are amazing on the XR Max. Controls are stiff at first but usually depends on the weapon style you use. Currently level 22 and town level 7. Defeated my first dragon even with a 5 skull difficulty, I choose to rebuild my town and upgrade my Smitty first. High armory rating helps along with enchantments make fighting easier, magic helps and I do have about 3 spells I use frequently but I’m more of a hand to hand combat style and use perks literally got my first spell st lvl 20 in which it started getting a little challenging but very fun. The game literally gives you so much to begin with without ever needing to buy in app purchases. It does help but save those gems they are very useful when you need them. Upgrade your chest inventory it’ll only help you, upgrade shops and they’ll carry a lot more coin to sell & salvage. Open elder and golden chest when you sleep. All in all great game for a beta early release keep up the great work!
Completely unbalanced
by Finger witch on 2019/06/10 03:22
Ok guys- to begin the game looks great in places-is fun to play- and will keep you busy for a few days. HOWEVER——once you reach a point - maybe level 12 or 13- everything changes. The difficulty ramps up so quickly that you will soon burn up all your resources to just get through a couple quests !! You will need a health potion for just about each enemy you face- your weapons won’t do enough consistent damage- and you cannot upgrade any armor or weapon past a certain a certain level because you cannot farm any resources. Also - your magic is worthless because you cannot cast quick enough to get it off in time...so forget that option. The game seems to skip the middle ground and goes straight to forcing you to pay for advanced gear. And also- the gold it takes to repair your gear is completely unbalanced compared to what you can find along the way. I wonder if the developers have even played this game - much less listened to the reviews of actual players who have attempted this game. Here’s you bottom line——wait for diablo to hit the mobile devices- or maybe FROMSOFTWARE will throw us a bone.... i wanted this game to be rewarding- but it fails for me.
Did not disappoint
by Quentroll Laughlin on 2019/07/10 03:08
Before I tried this game, I had a lot of prejudice. Bringing amazing console franchises to mobile has never really gone good. Plus, I heard of all the things that would be changed, and I thought this game would be like a tiny, boring, non-canonical spin-off of the Elder Scrolls series. After trying it, however, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did it do justice to ES, have a great plot, and have an amazing combat system, it was one of the most immersive fantasy games I’ve ever played. Saying FO76 had 16 times the detail as FO4 was clearly a lie, but this game might. I say this not only as a huge Elder Scrolls fan, but as a general medieval fantasy fan: this is a great game. Sure, a lot of it seems pretty lazily thrown together, especially the dialogue. It’s repetitive, and on very rare occasions, random lines will be voiced, which kinda ruins the immersion, but its still not a bad Elder Scrolls game. The convenience of it makes it much better, too. You can play with just one hand and stop playing at any moment in time. Good job, Bethesda. 👏🙂

The gameplay is great, but there have been just too many incidents of the game just quitting on me. The game just crashes for no reason. If Bethesda fixes this, then I’ll rate it 5 stars.
Love & LOVE butt...

Fun game

I can’t even make my character. Every time I try making my guy the game crashes. If tried at least 30 times. I give up trying :(
Fun until the Bloodfall Queen quest!!!
by Jordan29690 on 2019/11/13 03:08
I loved this game a lot and I came across the Bloodfall Queen quest and it’s super hard to pass.

The combat system isn’t that good you really can’t move around and not die from an enemy but it is still a good game

Is this a pagans problem or am i just bad at games?

by Kevduit on 2019/11/11 16:46
This game is amazing I just wish there could be another mobile Elder Scroll game in the future that’s just like Skyrim or Oblivion or ESO but atleast we have this game BUT I’m using the iPad 2018 and it’s running the game quite well but in the new update I keep crashing every minute in my town and ever since I started playing the game around early September every ones in a while my game crashes when I try going to my town and I just really love the game but I just can’t play it anymore because of this issue so I was hoping if someone could take my complaint into consideration and deal with this and this is my first time writing a review and it isn’t really a review it’s more of a bug report or whatever you would call it this is pretty bad bye thank you!

It’s fun until you realize everything costs too much game currency and real world time when opening chests, building structures, and crafting. The music is great but the worlds (or in this case, towns) don’t feel alive and bustling or lives in even!

Thanks for listening

by Flintlock James on 2019/11/07 05:24
Traditional story in elder scrolls fashion!

Excellent graphics for this Dungeon Crawler. And the development to the town you preform make more than just a hack and slash. Thx Bethesda, hope you would but this out on PC

Useless.

Excited

I just now got this game and a big fan of the elder scrolls games. My phone overheats which makes it hard to play this game but it’s not the games fault.
Woohoo!! Day time!
by Vasya0882 on 2019/11/05 16:52
Thank you for the wonderful update! I’m so excited to play this game. Haven’t had any crashing or any bugs yet. Even though the quests could be repetitive, but the constant updates and changes to the npcs make the game neverendless fun

Great start
by the kid with the hat on 2019/05/08 17:43
I think its fun and it's got potential.
Fix it
by 41029110000 on 2019/05/03 06:01
This game has great potential but it’s not there yet , I have been playing a couple of days now and I’ve noticed that it’s very hard to continue with out paying money as far as graphics go it’s wonderful but it still lags and glitches a lot , the thing that bothers me is that I was on a level that 4/5 skill and that’s not that hard but I killed 4 troll who had hit/attacked a lot more than the last but even though I have a full bar of health I some how die from two hits?, not to mention almost every time I tried to hit a button to use my magic or my abilities it wouldn’t let me , the game has so much potential but what bothers me is you have to pay to win .
Huge potential
by CptSteampunk on 2019/06/16 18:44
So far, I’m really enjoying this game.

Blades by Bethesda
by Scottagain on 2019/06/11 19:32
I have spent no money on this game so far and am already at level 20.
