CRASHES SO MUCH!
by Moumoelf on 2019/08/25 19:04
This is a great game but it’s constantly crashing. I can’t even get some vital storyline’s done because it crashes every time I even try to go into the Lower East Floor or the Courtyard. It’s becoming a pain to keep playing due to this very reason. I tried to get in touch with app support and all they told me to do was to reset my RAM, which did not help even a little. This is a truly frustrating game to play especially because I want to keep playing but I literally can’t.

What happened to graphics ?!
by watchtan on 2019/08/25 18:24
Things are all blurry - pixelated - low res — why did you do this? It looks terrible.
its a good game but
by Knobsone on 2019/08/25 18:15
it keeps crashing when i try to go to the court yard
Upset😐😶
by livpotatocat on 2019/08/25 16:06
DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Overall this game is really fun and does not take up a lot of storage, but whenever i get to the part with expelliaramus and winning the first duel with Merula, I finish that part, I try to go to a lesson or a mission, or leave the courtyard or sometimes I just wait too long! Then it freezes and sends me back to my home screen and I have to load the game ALL OVER. Then it sends me back RIGHT WHERE I STARTED THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED. NO MATTER HOW FAR I GOT. IT IS AN ENDLESS LOOP AND I CANT PLAY THE GAME😡😡😡. PLEASE FIX THIS GLITCH. I DOUBT IT IS JUST MY IPOD. actually it might be because another app does something similar but a lot less aggravating. Also I think it is a little ridiculous that it takes FOUR MINUTES to refill one energy point but that is not so bad. Anyway thank you for taking the time to read this if you did.
Anticlimactic
by Jlao1991 on 2019/08/25 15:26
Constant crashes make this game an absolutely terrible experience. Move on, you'll thank yourself later.
Frustrating
by Random Guy 667 on 2019/08/25 15:06
Just What is Jam City thinking 4 minutes for one energy its like you cant even do anything without having to use like 40 energy like calm down make energy recharge faster maybe like 2 minutes or 1 minute and a half. This game is fun and dont get me wrong its really well made but you cant enjoy it with all the energy you need to finish basically anything
Fun game but not enough ways to progress
by Aln721 on 2019/08/25 14:49
Echoing most of the reviews. I agree that it’s a great game. However, it’s frustrating that challenges take so much energy! Even if I buy some, it’s gone rather quickly. And 55 gems for more energy? Gems are hard to come by and spending 55 sometimes doesn’t even come close to allowing me to finish a challenge. The hidden energy is cool, but it’s only available every few hours and there’s not all that many of them. Need more ways to earn gems, energy, and for the challenges to take a bit less energy to complete. Also, the challenges time out which is infuriating when I’ve potentially spent tons of energy on one and just had to wait for more energy to complete it and then have to start all over! I also hate that I have to waste energy doing remedial lessons several times to get a new lesson unlocked.
Love the Customize Character option
by slowcutiepie on 2019/08/25 14:49
I love that I can customize my character to look like me. Other games don’t think about African Americans wanting to play games, but don’t feel comfortable being a white character. I seriously appreciate that option from this game!! This game is so fun and addicting!!
Frustrated
by Salem3075 on 2019/08/25 13:49
Love this game. The graphics are great. Was having a blast at building my character and traveling through Hogwarts. Don’t mind spend money on the game because I know it helps the developers but am very frustrated when I am trying to finish a side story and I get kicked out of the game over and over and lose points and energy which has happened frequently since I began year three. Don’t want to quit but am having serious thoughts about deleting it before I throw my phone and break it due to frustration.
Bugs
by lablka on 2019/08/25 12:37
I like the game but there are too many bugs it takes to long to load and shuts down occasionally
Its great I’m in Lovvee
by Sabaiatgd on 2019/08/25 08:47
I love this game it’s so highly addictive. The story is amazing, I love how you give the players character a back story. The characters personalities from the original Harry Potter series.
Fun Game / Problems / Complaints
by RubthatVIXX on 2019/08/25 04:37
This game is really fun! I have a great time playing this. Problems: I have finished Year 1, but on the Gather in the Great Hall mission, the game keeps on crashing and keeps on bringing me back to Year 1 Chapter 10. This game needs fixings. Overall a great game!
It’s fun🙂
by Earlpearlpup on 2019/08/25 04:35
This game is amazing! It has everything I love—maybe make energy fill up a bit faster? Other than that, I love this game so much. I would definitely recommend this to Harry Potter fans!

by Tjlolli on 2019/08/25 04:30
I love playing this game but when I started year two I’m getting kicked off the app I tried deleting then downloading the game again but it didn’t work. Is there anything else I can do
Fun but takes time
by Philobetto on 2019/08/25 04:29
It’s a really fun game but after a while it gets to just buying gems to speed things up or to get more energy or just waiting for a while and if you wait too long, you fail the lesson 😤😤😤
Rowan
by 1Hawk2 on 2019/08/25 03:12
I’m on year 2 and I’m having a lot of fun, but having to wait for energy is very inconvenient for my schedule
Almost great
by Gilmour1516 on 2019/08/25 03:06
Good game, but you need the ability to leave a lesson if you don’t want to finish it. I clicked an 8 hour session accidentally and now I’m stuck for basically a whole day.
Some serious issues
by Vailord69 on 2019/08/25 02:58
I’m very disappointed because by far this has become my favorite game and it keeps crashing just finished my first year and when Dumbledore makes his speak it crashes please help me out so I can continue my Adventure 😠
Great Game! But Has a Few Flaws...
by Critique...😒 on 2019/08/25 01:27
First of all, I love this game! Harry Potter has always been one of my favorite things and I was SO happy when this game was made. The graphics are amazing, and the story is well thought out. However, in every great game, there are a few problems. The main problem for me is how long it takes to recharge energy. It literally takes FOUR minutes to get ONE energy! It would be a lot better if it took 2 minutes to charge energy instead of 4. This is especially annoying when you’re doing timed events and you need to finish them quickly. This also goes with waiting for the story to progress. You sometimes have to wait 2-3 hours to start a new chapter! Another one of the problems I’ve had is that whenever I am playing the game and it has too much to load, it glitches out. I’ve had to redo playing gobstones with Talbott so many times. I’ve also had to redo the end-of-the-year feast several times before it finally didn’t glitch out. I really hope the developers can fix this part of the game as well. The last thing isn’t really a complaint, it’s just something I would REALLY like to see. I would REALLY like it if you were able to ask Charlie Weasley out. I really hope you can add this because Charlie is one of my favorite characters, and I want more future interactions with him. I hope you can consider this! I’m sorry about my ranting of this game, but it’s just really good and I would like to see it made even better. Thank you to all of the developers who made this! I hope to see great updates in the future!😁
i just started this game. BUG FIX
by Tiffanyarr on 2019/08/25 01:14
i’d like to be able to play this game without it force closing at the spot i’m at every two minutes! thanks

Oh my god this game is so much fun I love it so much it is so addictive so I can’t stop playing this game it makes my life so much fun and I love it 😍 rate 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I u agree.
GAME CRASHES + CANT RESTART
by Aaliyah 🍓 on 2019/08/25 00:40
I would give this 5 stars but I am currently stuck at the end of year 2 and cannot go with bill and penny to “defeat the ice knight”. I will click start then cast incendio but then my game will crash. This game is absolutely wonderful but I can’t make any progress so what’s the point of even having the game on my phone? I believe the best thing that this game could add would be a restart button where you can restart your game.
Fun game , great graphics, but constantly crashes
by Rib2 on 2019/08/24 23:10
Game crashes in same places all the time and they don’t fix it. Makes it very hard to complete tasks. Not worth the frustration.
Fun But...
by TwinPowerSB on 2019/08/24 22:19
It’s very fun but it ever since the new update, the quality got worse and it’s almost blurry.
Great game but there’s a bug
by Suki Bhasker on 2019/08/24 20:52
Whenever I enter the courtyard it either kicks me out of the game or lags and then kicks me out of the game. This happens ONLY when I enter the courtyard. I love Harry Potter and this is overall a really fun game for people of all ages. P.S. Please tell me how to fix this!!!
Constant crashes
by Duodenums on 2019/08/24 20:22
Constantly crashes right after first duel with Rowan.
Loads of fun but lots of crashing
by MystyRoar on 2019/08/24 20:12
This game was super fun to play until about two weeks ago. I crash quite often during game play( mostly when going to the courtyard) and when I log back in I’m taken back to the end of the last quest I completed and have to wait again for the time limit to pass. When I contacted support they blame my phone being an older model(iPhone 6) saying the RAM memory can’t keep up with game play. I hope this is fixed soon because I really love playing .
Owners should be in jail for highway robbery
by jjake32 on 2019/08/24 19:34
You can’t get far in this game unless you’re willing to spend thousands of dollars. Although your total energy increases when you learn a new flying lesson, so does the amount of energy it takes to pass a level. It’s impossible to get the amount of books needed to get new pets or animals in the magical creature reserve. You can’t ever win challenges or duels because the game is rigged against you to pressure you to spend money. Save yourself a few dollars and find a different game.
Ehh
by GIVE US THE SONG on 2019/08/24 18:26
The app is always shutting down on me. It’s annoying not to have enough energy to do things and have to pay extra just to be able to function in the game. I’m just not into those types of games. Seems to be for young kids.
TOTALLY ADDICTIVE!!!!!

by kaylerific on 2019/08/24 15:15
Okay honestly I love the game but I’m.just.losing.my.patience! But apart from what happens when your energy runs out every Things great! Very colorful and creepy sometimes but also awesome
This game Crashes every time I start my second year. I can’t get past it!
by Ez O Ez on 2019/08/24 14:52
This games crashes at the start of the second year. No way around it. It dies when dumbledore finishes talking and we are about to eat.
Crashing :(
by Spotty0439 on 2019/08/24 14:17
I’ve had the game for about 3 days, short time yeah.. and I’ve crashed at least 15 times and I’ve been completely okay with just getting back on the game but now at this one part in year one, where you finish dueling Merula and Snape wants to see you after.. I have yet to pass that part because of the crashing 😭. It’s a really fun game and incredible for Harry Potter fans but it’s almost impossible to play :/
Crashing
by Rajas20 on 2019/08/24 13:22
The game keeps crashing as I've unlocked the OWLs side quest and I deleted and reinstalled the game and it still does the same thing. It refuses to even start up and always crashes during the loading screen. It's very annoying and now I may miss the OWLs quest which I was looking forward to doing. It only started as I unlocked it. Before the crashes weren't this bad.
Great, but...
by PizzaNinja101 on 2019/08/24 13:19
I love this game! It's so fun, and I actually feel like a Hogwarts student! It's a great game! The only problem is that it keeps kicking me out of the game every time I try to go to the courtyard. Can that be fixed? Anyway, I love it, it's great, I recommend it! 😁😆
Taking Away Points Now?
by BoogeryJoe on 2019/08/24 12:43
I really like this game! You used to get full points when you have a meal with a friend or drink Butter Beer. But now they’re deducting points for “courage” and I think that’s lame.
The magic of hogwarts
by Game are decoded on 2019/08/24 09:13
I love the game I like Rowan and Ben all teachers of hogwarts are little strict I like charms class the most I don’t like talking about the character’s brother I don’t like Merula and algerica

Fun but a tad glitchy
by lilymaiden on 2019/08/24 05:19
I play this constantly and love it. Could use a little improvement , namely the glitches and side quests that are nearly impossible to complete without purchasing energy. Frog choir quest I completed 4 times and never got credit for completing. Aside from that I do enjoy playing and would recommend
I love it,but...
by PumpkinJelly on 2019/08/24 02:58
I absolutely love the game, especially for Hp fans like me, it kind of makes my magic dream comes true. However, I think there’s a problem with it. I tried to link it with my Facebook account, so I can still play it on other devices. Ever since then, I had to log in via Facebook every time I entered the game, and that’s disturbing. Can you have automatic login please? I don’t know if it’s a rare case or not, but I’m definitely not enjoying login every 10 minutes.

Harry potter 4.5 review
by Falinmor on 2019/08/23 22:38
I love this game and harry potter but it has been glitchy at a duel and I don’t know how to fix it. But so far so good. .5 taken away from that one glitch and overpriced pets. It is a great app if you like harry potter and wanted your own Hogwarts story.
It’s a cool game
by Cladues2020 on 2019/08/23 22:37
I have been playing this game for awhile and I have loads of fun but now I am stuck unable to go forward with the game because it crashes every time.
One suggestion
by Daphadil42 on 2019/08/23 22:14
I love this game! The only thing is, I wish that you could sleep in the bed in your dormitory. It would speed up time limits by the hour suggested by the player, but the more time, the more energy you get in return! Other wise, great game! ‘Owl’ think about how you can make this game even more awesome if you add all of this!
Love!
by Writergurl101 on 2019/08/23 19:21
Although I wish it had Quidditch, they talk about players but you never get the option to try out

This game is good however...
by Netflix Is UGGHHHHHH on 2019/08/23 16:24
This game is very enjoyable and I do recommend trying it out. I know many complain about the energy issue, but as you progress through the story and reach (for example) Year 5, then you normally have enough and you can also use objects like Peeves to gain more, or watch an ad. If you are smart and plan your energy use and refill, you will get through. I did! The story is interesting, and I do like that you can interact with original characters. The Creature Menagerie is super cool as well! However there are a few things that could be improved. 1) The Special Events (side quests) are catered to those who spend money on this game, and as someone who doesn’t, I have never completed one because of the excessive amount of things required to do, and the too-short time limit. This is disappointing. 2) The game sometimes repeatedly kicks you out if you enter a certain place, and that can be frustrating. 3) You cannot join a Quidditch team. Very disappointed. 4) The friends you make in the game can be a little odd or dumb. They depend on you for everything, and can’t really do anything by themselves. That gets annoying. 5) The clothes are ugly. These are the main things for right now. Other than these, the game is pretty interesting. Worth getting!
blurry
by masquedbunny on 2019/08/23 16:09
Ok, I’m leaving five stars because I do love this game, but ever since the last update (installed 8/22/19), there’s been a strange loss of resolution for certain elements in the game. It’s not everything; characters still seem sharp; but some of the icons are really blurry now. I don’t know if this is intentional to help with the game’s stability. It’s just making me feel like I need reading glasses or something.
Please read!
by Person1,238,459 on 2019/08/23 14:37
First of all I really like this game. It is really fun, but not to addictive. But in year one when I try to duel Merula, it keeps freezing in the middle of the duel and exiting me out of the game. Please update soon and fix this bug.

I wanted to recreate the moment of the daughter of Harry Potter however it seems I cannot put that in the last name bar and it takes waaaaaaay too long to load so I had to keep on restarting my phone so please fix this and if I wanted to reset my data I couldn’t which is very sad overall the game is really good and it really feels like your in the book/movie and I hope you don’t end the journey there even though I am already at the beginning but I hope to see improvements for the future Thank you
Great game but...
by snakexgod on 2019/08/23 14:02
I love Harry Potter and now being able to go to hogwarts before Harry was there is amazing. This game is so much fun. But there could be a way to make it better.... first remove the energy bar because some people want to finish this game in one sitting and I feel like it would be better that way if you get to choose what pace you go at, and not rely on your energy bar being full or empty. Second PUT THIS GAME ON CONSOLE AND PC. That would be absolutely amazing and I would never leave my Xbox😂
OMG
by Belle 💝🐴😊🌹 on 2019/08/23 13:07
OMG THIS APP IS SO AMAZING! I can’t stop playing and the story line is so captivating. I love how your decisions can effect the story. I also love how you can throw in some romance into your story if you want. However, I have one question. WHY DOES YEAR FIVE HAVE TO HAVE 36 CHAPTERS! THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE! But other than that awesome game. Like I said, OMG! I would recommend this game to anyone!
Attention! Fix the crashes please!
by Poshdanielle on 2019/08/23 12:56
Okay honestly, I love this game and it deserves a 5 star, but recently I can’t even play the game! Keeps crashing not only at the courtyard or lower floor east, but even the storylines and the mini story lines aren’t budging! So frustrating! Just a few moment ago i tried to open the game just to notify customer service and it won’t even let me, it just closed the app! That’s hilarious! Which is even why I am here writing this hoping jam city sees it and comes to the rescue. I have tried deleting and updating... it didn’t work. It got worse when i started year 6 and after the current update. Please guys do something... I will review my rating when i see a change. Thanks!
Awesome Game, but one thing....

Tons of fun, but this bug is so annoying!
by E bug55 on 2019/08/23 02:21
I love this game so much, however, once I got to year 2 and the welcome back feast the game wouldn’t let me play. It will let me play to a certain point then shut off. It is really annoying! I even tried to wait til the game had another update, but it didn’t work. I highly recommend this game for Harry Potter fans!
Fun game
by Nite rage on 2019/08/22 23:45
I’ve had this game since it’s release and have found it fairly enjoyable and entertaining. The only things I’m not that fond of is sometimes I have to wait for the next chapter to be added before I can proceed with the storyline. I also wish as the characters get older (mines in year 6) they would make them look less child like, I mean mines like 16 and has the body and height of a 12 year old.
Energy
by puppy girl34 on 2019/08/22 23:18
You have to wait 4 minutes for more energy. What if you have a time limit and you don’t have four minutes, other than that I love this app and it’s so fun to play and I just love it!
Glitches
by Tailor-May on 2019/08/22 23:18
I would give this game five stars if it wasn’t for the glitches that occur when you go to the court yard. As of right now I can’t even complete the first year duel with merula since the game glitches and closes and during this scene the characters are In the wrong spaces and I can’t find a way around it.
I ❤️this app

by 💩🤡👾💀 on 2019/08/22 21:50
Love this game but I hate energy. You think this game is perfect when you see the adds. It is but the energy only fills up to 30 I’m on year 4 and the offers they hand out I don’t buy because I’m not spending money on any game But besides that the game is perfect 👌
Favorite game but very expensive

by 14hobbitperson on 2019/08/22 21:10
It’s a fun game, and I would give it five stars, but reloading just one energy part takes about five minutes and you have to just wait for it and do nothing. This is really annoying. I know it is just a game, but i also find it annoying that you don’t have much of a choice what to do, basically everything is planned out for you, even your friends. Also I can’t find a way to restart. Okay, I’ve said the major flaws so I guess I’ll also say my favorite things about it. I do like the whole idea, and that you can change your character's look. I think it’s fun doing all the different classes and stuff. Overall it’s an enjoyable game🙂.

by Moony✩ on 2019/08/22 20:38
i’m a big fan of this particular harry potter game, and the only reason why i’m rating it 4 stars is because the only issue that i have with this game is how quickly i run out of energy. i have to actually stop playing and wait a half hour (sometimes a hour) for it to fill up again... it’s very unfair, and quite frankly, annoying. please fix this, the game is a lot fun when i can actually play it. :( otherwise, the game is amazing. once the energy thing is fixed, i’ll definitely rate it 5 stars!

This game has wonderful graphics and a interesting plot, but it has a tendency to crash a good bit making the timed events very hard to accomplish.
I love this game but

I love this game but I think that the pets cost a lot and the I think that when you have special adventures that it doesn’t give you enough time but I still really like this game because it’s so realistic
liked the game but restarting should be optional
by 1003dalmatians on 2019/08/22 17:02
i really like the game and it was well made, but i think restarting the game should be an option in the settings menu because i thought that it was annoying to have to contact help for it, and even when they said they restarted it, i uninstalled and reinstalled the game to having the same game as before.

Didn’t even work!
by mysterysucks on 2019/08/22 14:57
I downloaded this app for my wife and I to play, because we love Harry Potter. We opened it up, tried to create a character but couldn’t. Nothing would come up, no hair, no faces, nothing to choose from. We even tried to randomize a character but that wouldn’t even work. We made sure we had all the updates but nothing would work. We were very disappointed and not impressed at all. Just deleted it after we couldn’t get it to work.
Dueling is rigged

Dueling is rigged so you play but can’t win unless you pay. I like the game mostly but I hate games that are set up to make you fail unless you pay money

The game is real fun but really glitchy. It won’t let me get past the feast on the second year. It has been doing this since the update a couple days ago. I want to keep playing but it won’t work. Does any one know what to do?

Can I make a request?
by Niana94 on 2019/08/21 21:33
Hi there! I must say that I really enjoy Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery, a very addictive game! Is it alright to make a request? Out of all of the fellow students in the same year as the MC you can be friends with and maybe have a relationship with, I really love Talbott Winger. Is there anyway to have more side quests with him? And maybe at the very end, when they all graduate, will there be an option to choose between being with a love interest like Talbott or not, depending on what other players think as well?
App crashes
by HeidiB899 on 2019/08/21 21:28
I absolutely love the game as I am a huge HP fan and currently re-reading the books but I am having a rather extremely annoying problem. A year ago I had the game and made it to year 2 but then I deleted it for some reason. I came back a couple days ago and I’m on level 5 of year one, but every time I go to the courtyard to duel Merula, the app crashes. I even deleted it and downloaded it again and the same thing happens over and over and over again. IOS user by the way.

I have truly enjoyed this game. With time, you can progress with little or no money spent. I no longer feel the need to win another costume contest. I do obtain books and whatever else I need, slowly but consistently. I’m in Year 6 and have had no glitches.

I honestly love this game. I just started playing it again (I started over). I’m in year one and at the part where I have to learn my first dueling spell. Every time I press the courtyard it starts loading then the game just closes out.
Spent money very quickly!
by tubiesock on 2019/08/21 17:21
No you do not have to spend money, but everything cost energy, and the energy takes a very long time to re-charge, so I spent money, ughhh... 10 dollars, with the hopes that would at least last a day or 2. Wrong! It lasted like 15 minutes because I am an impatient person, and not the type of person who plays all day, but periods of time a day. Also, if you start a task, and don’t complete it within the time frame given no matter how much energy you have, you have to start all over and wait for your energy to recharge. Pretty annoying! The graphics are decent, and but I think it would be neat to have actual games to play while waiting for energy to re-charge, or a way to load your energy quickly without having to pay a ton of money.
Awesome game, but...
by Giggkao on 2019/08/21 13:55
Well, I’m just gonna say, I am seriously enjoying this game, but I’m stuck at the feast for year 2, my game crashes EVERYTIME I do get there. 🤯. Please work on the game. That bug is starting to get annoying.

Amazing Game! However...
by AnotherRandomPerson. on 2019/07/09 17:13
This game contains WONDERFUL graphic designs, character development, and story paths! I absolutely adore the fact that it’s such an accurate representation of what life would be like at Hogwarts before Harry Potter. The game is filled to the brim with adventure and mystery to entertain you, and a customizable character that can cast every spell (if you learn the spells, that is). The game also includes a dueling feature and several different events! However, the energy takes up 4:00 minutes of time to generate ONE portion of the energy bar, which I find INSANE! You can also collect energy when you click on certain spots in the castle. Contrary to several reviews I have read, the energy bar limit increases within and at the end of each year. You start out with being able to earn only 25 energy, but at Year 3 you can earn up to 30 energy! And sometimes even though you have a full bar you can go even higher, although I do not think you are supposed to be able to go higher. Many people have written in reviews that the prices for clothing are obserd, and, for the most part, I agree. You earn 100 gems at the end of each year, though, so saving up would not be too difficult. Overall, the game brought me into a world that I wanted to interact with ever since I was 8 years old, and in one of the best possible ways! The developers deserve a standing ovation! 🥳
Love the Game, but Having Problems..
by shannon gay on 2018/08/08 22:09
Okay I love this game. I really enjoy playing, discovering new places, and meeting the many different characters etc., but today this game is really challenging my patience. I am in year three and I have to finish the stinksap lesson in order to move on to the next chapter. I have played this lesson twice already today and I finished it both times, but after I collected the reward and left the classroom, it told me the lesson timed out and took away three house points both times..? Not to mention that it takes something close to fifty energy just to complete it once, which takes about an hour and a half to complete if I start out with a full energy bar of thirty. After I finished the lesson the first time, I was left with my energy bar completely drained and it took twenty minutes short of three hours to complete the second time. Now I have to start the lesson a third time with my energy drained AGAIN, and who knows if it will actually work this time. If it doesn’t work it will take three more house points away. I’m just imagining the different ways that I can smash my iPad because this is extremely frustrating..😖 Anyway, this is mostly a rant and I apologize for that. This really is a great game, and I love all little details and backstories that I’ve learnt throughout it. I recommend it 100%. ..Just know that it can be very frustrating at times.
Almost* Perfect 🧙🏻‍♀️
by Airfield munch on 2018/11/14 07:24
This game deserves a five star rating just because the creators did such an amazing job at making Hogwarts, the entire app, look so amazing and on point with how the school actually looks. I was immediately addicted to this game as soon as I downloaded it months ago. I love that you can make your own custom witch/wizard. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, being able to choose your House is a big deal. The story starts and you’re hooked. I’ve read the negative reviews and most people just don’t want to pay for anything extra. That’s fine. This game does not require you to buy anything for you to be able to move forward. But if you love the game, want to buy some extra gems on a sale for some extra energy, then don’t feel guilty about spending $5-$20! It supports the game, helps bring updates faster, and helps the creators expand the game further. All for FREE! People need to stop complaining about getting an amazing game for free and that they don’t want to spend money or wait for the energy to refill. Just support the game! If you love it, support it! If it was a popular Xbox game, you would be spending $65, plus whatever the season pass was, PLUS a monthly fee to play online. I’d rather spend $20 on Harry Potter and hope they expand the game or make a second game. Our money really does help bring us amazing entertainment with this particular team. They’re awesome!
Good Game- A couple of problems
by Hogwarts💙💙💙💙💙 on 2019/04/22 21:39
I love the Harry Potter game! Getting to experience the magical wizarding world is truly amazing! However the game does have a few problems... One would be that the energy only goes up to 25. I find myself in the middle of important lessons not being able to finish them because I am out of energy. The game should give us more energy or let us buy energy with our coins, not gems. Second would be that no matter what decision you make, the story ends up being the same. You can not take your own path. Third would have to be that the game restricts certain areas of Hogwarts until you can get into a different year in Hogwarts. Fourth is that after you have completed all 7 years, there is nothing more to play. The game ends just there. I would have liked it to continue with choosing a new career in the wizarding world. Finally, fifth would be you have to complete 10 long chapters in order to move on into the next year. It should be at least five chapters. I think this is one of the reasons why the game does not continue afterwards- because they ran out of space to add anything else. Overall though, I do like the game because it takes you on many different adventures around Hogwarts. I do recommend this game, but please be aware of the consequences! Also just a side note: I recently got glasses in the game- and I realized everything you do, Rowan does as well. Different outfits, accessories, and even pets.🙄
No way to go but up.
by Strikewillow on 2018/05/23 01:33
This game honestly has a strong base to build on, it has interesting side quests right along with the main quest. I like the inter house friendships. It’s pretty clear choice does matter in the game if only a little. It would be nice to see a bit of variation in every players story. It doesn’t make sense that Snape would hate on a slytherin or McGonagall would favor one for extra lessons. Both were pretty known for their own house favoritism, but I digress. The game itself is fun for the short while we get to play it at a time. I think before a new game decides to start panhandling so aggressively for money it should build its player loyalty first. First it would be cool to maybe do some extra activity to earn back some energy, the hidden energy tokens only go so far, maybe scrub some cauldrons for Snape to earn back 5 energy. Polish broomsticks for madam hooch, obviously you can’t do these tasks all day every day to earn free energy we all would have graduated long before now, maybe pay 200 gold for each task you can do something for each teacher related to their area of study. It would keep wait times down and players happy, and once the players run out of gold and energy then advertise a gem pack to them for a slightly decreased price. I’ve got several other ideas that would benefit both player and Jam City, but there isn’t enough space here for all that.
so much fun, but has it’s drawbacks
by one23dee on 2018/06/29 20:33
I really enjoy this game and have been playing it a ton since getting it. Having grown up reading the Harry Potter series I love being able to be apart of it in game form. Only things I wish is that the energy amount that you acquire was higher than it is. I find I go through it so quickly, right in the middle of lessons. I know it’s probably so that we either have to wait it out or buy more but still wanted to mention it. I also wish there was an option of buying gems or energy with the coins we earn in lessons. This game is very heavy in the micro transactions direction and thats it’s main drawback for me. Since it takes so long for your energy to replenish you’re put in a position to be more inclined to buy gems and use them for energy since storylines depend on finishing lessons so much. This adds up very quickly. I would think there could be a better middle ground for this. I also understand the developers have to make money but as a consumer I felt the need to bring it up. I rack up coins very quickly but would rather use them towards gems or energy rather than clothes. I also wish there were more options for creating your character. I hate to compare it to something else but for instance Bitmoji has added more hairstyles and colors since it first came out. Probably a bit harder for this since its animated but I wish there was a bit more variety. Otherwise love the game!
Uhhh... What?
by Problemed Person. on 2018/05/28 18:24
This game is good. But it is a cashgrab and a tap and wait for hours on end. Yeah the personalities of the teachers are accurate, and the graphics are great. But this game needs to chill on the money and the 200 gems FOR A HOUSE COLORED SCARF is INSANE. And 6000 coins for weirdo glasses, normal glasses 200 GEMS TOO. Some of us want our character to be like us! Like the customizable American girl doll thing. I myself want my character to be with glasses and not have to wait until I’m like on the sixth year. The game is great and all but behind the mystical greatness, the prices on things are too much to handle! Please put the prices on stuff down! I am begging you! The energy is crazy too, four minutes for a single energy. I am pretty sure that 25 is the whole bar, the amount of time to fill up the whole thing is 100 minutes. That’s just for the first year that I have not passed yet. But 100 minutes is, you guessed it, more than an hour! So while you’re waiting for the bar to fill, you have time to get distracted and forget about it. Your two hours of waiting on a lesson is over and you have to do it once all over again. I’ve had this happen three or four times with the Winguardium Leviosa lesson with Flitwick. It frustrates me every time. So I have to do it again and when I get to about the third or fourth star, it’s all gone. THEN THE WAITING GAME STARTS AGAIN. The energy and the pricing ranges are my problems. The rest of the game is fine with me.
PLEASE READ: Love this game but needs to change....
by SkittlesWolf12 on 2018/07/05 17:55
Okay so right now I’m a first year and everything is so amazing!!! I love everything about this game! The graphics are awesome! But.... this game needs some changes.... First the energy NEEDS to CHANGE ASAP! It’s horrible.... ONE ENERGY takes FOUR minutes REPLENISH?!?? Are you serious??? The full meter is 25 and in order to wait for 25 of the energies to replenish and that would be about 100 minutes of waiting which is hmm... about OVER an hour???!? That’s RIDICULOUS! Please get rid of the whole energy thing or at least reduce the time to wait for them to replenish! Besides the lessons or things to do uses energy only talking to people on there doesn’t. You should have something fun on the app to pass time or something that’ll give you energy. And if you have to “unlock” it in further years or chapters then that’s incredibly stupid. I think first years when you immediately first start out should be able to do quick mini games or activities or something to get energy. I understand that the pets can give you energy and I’m trying to save up but this is still ridiculous. Also I don’t know a lot about this app but if there’s only a few lessons and stuff for charms and potions then that’s very sad unless there’s more in year 2, year 3, etc. but if not plz add some more.... otherwise it doesn’t feel much like Hogwarts to me.
So fun! But... UPDATE
by catpapi on 2018/06/27 18:39
I love Harry Potter and was excited to play Hogwarts Mystery. It’s a fun game, but the excessive amount of micro transactions make it annoying. I don’t that menial tasks have 3h limits to complete. I prefer 1h, as I can complete a star or two and then wait out the time. I like that we now get to do other things like play gobstones but they take several hours to reload. I dislike that one task takes up an insane amount of energy. If I sit down during my busy day to play, I don’t want to constantly wait for my energy to reload in order to get one task or class done. That being said, if developers lessened the amount of energy that goes into one task and decreased the time limit for side quests to one hour again, it would be more enjoyable to play. Update: Okay developers I see these updates, I see y’all doing your thing and I appreciate it. You can now watch ad videos for 3 energy points and for gems, classes and tasks are a bit easier to get through, the dormitory, the attribute points with purchases and pets!! I like that you can interact with friends to earn gems and energy points. I don’t LOVE that they’re capped at level 10 and after awhile all you earn is a clothing item so I hope to see more friend options! Even some older book characters come up? I’m sure the game will get better with time and I’m looking forward to all the great updates!
Great game! 💯 would recommend.
by Smiles:)!!!!! on 2018/05/09 02:38
This game is super fun, the graphics are great, and the story is engaging. I love the characters and all the little details. If you are a Harry Potter fan, you will love this!! It’s perfect and is a truly magical game. (The rest of this review is a few suggestions for the creators of the game and contains a spoiler for year two of the game.) A few thing that you (as in the creators of the game) may want to consider is making people’s whereabouts match with the storyline. For example, when Ben is missing for a awhile he still appeared in the common room before I found him. Also, when Rowan got injured and was in the hospital wing she still appeared in potions class with me. Also, having more to interact with would be super fun! Like how certain objects can give you extra energy when you tap on them. I’m not asking for more object to give energy, but making all the paintings move or do something when you touch them and having the people around have short lines that they say when you touch them would add even more magic to the game. These aren’t problems, but adding those little things will really increase the experience. Also, I think you should think of more stories we can play though so that we can play this game again and again with different stories. Just a suggestion! Overall, well done! I love this game!! You guys did a great job!!
Addicting and Fun
by Jermor8 on 2018/08/09 12:52
I think this game is perfect! It tells you a story and you get to meet friends and increase your relationship level with them as well as your attribute points. You get to dress your character and buy pets. Many people complain about the energy, but I feel as though if there wasn’t energy, you would be done with the game too quick. I love that you can make choices to increase your attribute levels, which allows you to make special choices. I also love that by clicking on certain spots you get a point of energy. I also love that by buying a pet with in game money, you get a point of energy when they are sleeping and click on them. I love that these pets are helpful. The fact that you can increase your relationship with characters to get rewards and be able to bring them with you on quests is really cool, and to do that, you must answer Harry Potter trivia makes it even better. I like that you can duel with other characters, and the way to win is to have batter attribute levels, and know more stronger spells. I also like the special events that go on that allow you to get prizes, such as outfits, gems, and coins for getting a certain amount of stars in classes before the time runs out. The only thing I don’t like about this game is the glitches. It isn’t that bad though, it never got me frustrated, and I’m in my fourth year.
Alright
by TATPE3771 on 2018/04/30 01:08
Most of you’ll have seen the problem with the very limited energy system so I’ll just state some improvements that can be made that won’t throw away the concept of making money from these interactions. First off, you could add more quests early on that give the plus 1 energy capacity which I thought would be more frequent after the first given one :( . Or, you could speed up the energy reload timer just a bit. At the moment I believe it’s 3 minutes? I’m not entirely sure but it’s around there and that’s just for 1 energy. I can’t even finish 2 star missions with 28 energy and the timer for each mission is a bummer cause sometimes I just can’t get back on time with enough energy to finish and it resets leading to the grinding resetting. Story is intriguing. Gameplay is eh. The focus and spell casting is alright. The dueling sometimes feels weird[4 straight offensive for example(I kept choosing sneaky hoping for something else)]. I was kinda let down by not quiz to see where you fit in but I guess the internet has a bunch if I really wanted one. The competition for points was a bit disappointing for me because I’m at this moment have scored the most points for my team(ravenclaw) 2nd place atm and my team is still last ;(. Could you add something like top 10 contributors overall get something cause right now it feels like even if I continually get the most points my team will never make it due to less people.
Problems
by Me060381 on 2019/06/07 15:28
I like the game, don't get me wrong but there are a lot of problems, mainly because of the 'not enough' bravery or knowledge or whatever options, it's frustrating it truly is especially if you are just new and charge in it, I find a constant error with everything when trying to pick an option and not having enough for that option, not to mention the reset! Honestly, Pokemon games way of resetting there game is a 1000 times easier then this, I have to download apps and things I don't want, not to mention my poor little phone can handle it all! Not to mention because of the high quality there's a lot of lag, which can be a problem when doing the 'focus' part of a trial in a class, this is a large reason why I rate this a 3 star, because everything seems good, at least I hope for now it's all good from then on Well.... except the prices on everything and anything, and the energy!!!!! That's way to long for one energy!!! It's honestly annoying!!!!! Especially if someone I used up all there energy and went alone on that one event with the vines(keep forgetting what those thorny vines are called) not to mention it's a hassle, but then there's the gems, oh god the gems, there WAY to hard to get when doing this stuff! They should be easier since so much of it is used to get items!!!! VERY expensive items if I might add!!!!! It's really and truly annoying, please try and fix these things and give warnings before hand on such things
I love this but there are a few problems...
by Horselover4729 on 2018/07/23 15:35
This game is really good and I love it... but the are two problems I would like to mention. The first problem I have is the energy. I know there are plenty of reviews out there already mentioning the energy as a problem, but I want to mention it too. Four minutes is quite a long time to wait for just one energy... I think maybe one or two minutes would be better, or maybe one minute and thirty seconds. I am actually writing this review right now while I’m waiting for my energy to fill because I’m in the middle of learning a spell and I ran out of energy way to quickly and it takes too long to fill up again. You could also include maybe mini games that could earn you things like energy and coins or xp. The second problem I would like to mention is the spelling mistakes. Yes, I understand everybody spells things wrong every once in a while, I probably have some mistakes in this review, but the words that are spelled wrong are pretty much spelled wrong throughout the entire game. Some examples of the misspelled words are practice(in the game it is spelled as practise) and artifact(it is spelled as artefact in the game). I’m not a game maker or anything and I don’t know how hard it would be to go back and change the spelling, so I’m not going to ask for the spelling to be fixed unless it is too hard of a thing to fix. I really hope the energy gets changed though.
Review Must Read
by FriendlyReviewer1 on 2018/07/09 12:22
First off great game, great quality of work. Details are amazing and gameplay is great. Every feature in the game stands out well and goes a long way. It is unique to have the questing for stars to receive clothing items as they disappear after a few days which make them unique and rare to in-game items. The creators should add more items instead of just the typical clothing items. Maybe add new hairstyles or scarfs and hats, things like that. The energy consistency works fine because I play this game consistency. There are some good updates I like such as the new pet update. This would be useful in the game. The dorm looks very plain, graphics look good but there should be an option to customize your dorm and the character looks sad, so it would be good to change their expressions. An idea would be to expand the friendships past level 10 so people can experience new things. I appreciate the story plots as they get interesting every time you progress to the next cursed vaults. One thing to mention, the gem items don’t give much bonus points after buying your clothes and gold gives a lot more, considering gems are harder to receive (once every year). Keep with the updates, and I am looking forward to continuing my progress with the game. I recommend the game very much, and spread the word to people. Edit: The 8 hour quests are a bit too long in my opinion, I would say 5 hours is plenty.
Great and Does Not Have To Cost Anything
by natashaspy55 on 2018/07/01 23:29
First let me say this is a fun adventure game and I love it. But I get tired of hearing people say this is a pricey game. You only have to spend money if you want to. Many games require purchases to advance in the game. That is NOT the case with this game. About cost, as you progress in the game you actually receive gems and coins. I am a gamer and I know that is rare. You do not have to purchase energy. In a three or eight hour quest -- you get to choose the length -- I have always finished well in advance of the time. Yes, when you run out of energy you do have to wait four minutes per energy point. This is normal in all the games I play. I just set the time and still always finish well in advance of the finish time. An eight hour quest takes me five hours. Only the impatient ones purchase energy. The other cost mentioned is clothing which you do not need to purchase. I did make one purchase for an outfit I really wanted to have. Everyone else in the story is usually in their Hogwarts robe or a nondescript shirt and pants. You doing need clothes. So, the game is great fun and spending money is optional. I'm at a high level and my attribute scores are extremely high all without spending a cent. I have earned enough gems and coins to purchase anything I wanted except one outfit which I chose to buy. Just play and enjoy this wonderful game.
Awesome!
by BobDaPotterhead on 2018/07/07 17:08
I LOVE THIS GAME! It’s so much fun! I really like how we get to go to classes and everything, and I love how we get to have an enemy, because it’s not that fun without one. I love how we sometimes get to choose what our response is to some people! And the classrooms look so accurate! Also, I love the thing where you can press random things to get one extra energy; I often do that during classes. I also really like how you get to meet different people, and you actually get to meet Tonks, Bill Weasley, and Charlie Weasley! I have so many things that I like about the game, it’s so good! The only thing that I want to change is the energy system and the prices of things. I mean, 4 minutes for one energy bit?! And, some things that you accomplish raise the energy limit, so I’m at 29 right now, and the wait time for the whole thing to fill up is just way too much, so I try not to wait for it to fill completely during classes. But still, I would love to get energy faster. Also, the payment. Some things are just too expensive. For example, I really wanted this sweater, but I couldn’t get it because it was, what, 10,000 coins? And some other stuff cost more than 100 rubies! I really would like to get a pet faster! Anyway, the prices are really high, and I would like them to come down a bit. But other than that, this game is the best game I’ve ever played! 👍😂
Amazing but frustrating

I absolutely love this game. The detail behind the story and graphics and the accuracy is perfect. It’s so amazing seeing something I loved so much in my childhood and to this day come to life. That being said, I do wish there were more mini games that didn’t require energy. The amount of energy we receive is much too low for the amount needed to complete a task. By the time I’ve waited for my energy to refill my task has timed out and I have to start all over. I love the three mini games that allow you to gain a higher relationship with friends (the meal, gobstones, and butterbeer). I wish there were more opportunities like that, as it is fun if you know Harry Potter trivia, does not require energy, and high friendships is important later on in the game. If there is nowhere to put another game like this, then the time needed until you can have another meal with friends etc should be shorter. Right now it takes 9+ hours after playing once to play again. I also wish the tasks were more interactive as opposed to clicking on the screen until your energy runs out. I feel like it would be so much more fun if we could actually participate in the classes. I love the story and watching it progress, but I hate the energy system. Hopefully in future versions more mini games will be added or it will take less time for energy to replenish. Or ideally the energy will not be needed at all!
BEST GAME EVER!

This game is so amazing. It truly captures the experience of reading Harry Potter. I love how you can meet two of the Weasley kids and Tonks too! All the teacher look the same and have the same personality: Dumbledore is understanding and calm, Flitwick is kind, and Snape is horrible and hates everyone😆. No complaints at all but (remember: THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT) I just get frustrated waiting to get energy for the timed challenges and the time for the challenge runs out and I have to start over again. But I love how you can get extra energy around the castle by tapping painting and even Peeves. As you can tell I’m a huge Harry Potter geek and know everyone’s names by heart. The animals are cool too but I think just a rat is too expensive! It’s not like I want a rat but I want an owl or a cat and they are 10 time as expensive. But no complaints. What the heck would you use the pets for? I’m pretty sure they can give you extra energy. But that would be why they are so expensive. I love how you can customize you character to make it white or black, a redhead, blonde, or brunette. And I think the look of the clothes is spot on. I love the robes. My only wish is that I could have a cooler “bff”. No complaints but Rowan is kind of weird. Over all I love this game so so so so so so much. I would say way more but it would take you an hour to read it. Bye Bye!!
Cool initially but needs more ways to interact
by Alexander Ttt on 2018/05/31 18:48
I have a pretty good attention span but even I started loosing steam about halfway into the second year. I made it to the beginning of year three and I don’t know how much further I can go. The app has an interesting storyline and the settings are really detailed and absolutely beautiful, but pretty quickly into the game challenges start taking too much energy and you can’t complete anything in a reasonable amount of time. Since chapters now take me days to complete, the game desperately needs something like mini games you can play on the side - essentially something more interesting than just tapping the screen and the occasional swiping of a finger. Either that or more ways to increase your energy capacity so you can get more done in one sitting. Along those lines, another thing I wish you could do is quit a challenge. It’s a pain when you only need one star to pass but you still have to either complete all five stars or wait three hours before you can go do another task. Basically, your available energy limit, plus the hidden energies you can collect, only allow for about two minutes of game play. And last, I wish you could skip over your character’s reactions. They probably only take 5 seconds or so, but since they happen so often and you can’t skip past them, they begin to feel like an eternity. The amount of my life I’ve wasted staring at my character’s overly-proud-of-herself face is preposterous.
Please fix the energy
by 123432345654 on 2019/01/21 23:34
I have noticed a few problems. First there is wrong spelling all the time. Second there should be some other tasks that are quicker loading to get stuff done quicker. Third I can never get gems. I am not allowed to pay real money and I can not get more gems from anywhere. Fourth is the loading. The game takes about 5 seconds to load, and that does not seem like much, but for all the stuff it takes a lot of time away. Fifth is the fact that stuff like gobstones or pets or clothes is way overpriced. Also you should make it so when characters talk and you have the sound up, the just grunt and make noises. But the energy is the big problem. I would suggest that you either make so we can pay coins for energy, or make small tasks we do to win energy, or make the energy timer do that in 4 minutes you get 4. Not one per minute, but every four minutes you get four. If you look in all the other comments you have, nearly everybody who plays this game is complaining about the energy. You need to fix this! I put on a three hour challenge, use all my energy without even getting one star yet, wait an hour and a half, and then go back, get up to 2 1/2 stars, empty out all my energy, wait an hour and a half, and find out that it timed out and it says that I need to do the exact same thing over again without waiting for energy. That is practically just saying that you want us to fail or handover our money.
A fan that just wants to help
by Halfblooddork on 2018/05/11 12:47
I really love this game and I play it everyday, however, many people I talk to that already play the game are getting bored with it after the first week of playing. Were I not the dedicated HP fan that I am, I might have gone with them. You’re story is great and as someone that always wanted to have a mystery to solve at hogwarts, this game is sort of my dream come true but the energy wait kills it. I understand this game needs to make money, but don’t underestimate the Harry Potter fan, we will spend where we love. As it stands right now, it doesn’t seem worth it to spend money if it’s only going to earn us 5 more seconds of play. It breaks my heart that this game that I love is broken up into seconds at a time. It is frustrating and takes a lot of patience to work through one task, an amount of patience I don’t want to have use when playing a game that is supposed to be bringing me joy. Now, if the plot based adventures required energy but the side quests, bonus classes and relationship activities didn’t cost energy and were always available to play while I was waiting for energy, that would be great! I would be in the world of the game for longer than a couple seconds and would be more likely to invest in the plot aspect of the game. Great work but if you are looking for a way to make it a game that will last and that will make money, I suggest reworking the amount of playtime.
It’s the beginning of something magical
by Toshrocks98 on 2018/05/13 22:59
I’ve been a big Harry Potter nerd ever since I picked up the books back in middle school. So I would say that I have a decent amount of knowledge about the wizarding world and Iam glad that this game adapts things from the books and movies into it. Like certain spells or characters that you’ll most definitely recognize as you progress through you’re own years at Hogwarts. So far I think up to Year 3 has been set up since the game is relatively new, but I hope they take their time and continue keeping it original and packed with things to do like they have so far. My only gripe about this game would be the energy system and having to wait for certain parts of the story to open up. Which makes sense since time passes in real life and you can’t instantly do everything all in a row like that so it can be seen as realistic. But the energy limit kinda gets in the way sometimes and I wish that it would increase by 1 every time you level up or something additional to doing Broom training lessons. Because Iam currently on Year 2 and only have +3 more energy than I did when I started and it seems like lessons are going to require more stars from this point onwards. It’s not a major pain but it would make the game easier. Iam glad this exists though!
ALMOST Lived Up to the HYPE
by MrsKramit on 2018/05/02 03:18
I long awaited this release, as did many others. The graphics are good. And the game plays smooth on my device. It brings back all the HP nostalgia that I hoped for. BUT... One of the best things about HP is being able to get lost in the story and lose all track of time and place. If you expect that from this game, you will be disappointed. The biggest downfall in playing is that if you are a player who doesn’t buy in-game items, you will blow through your energy in five minutes and be left waiting for your energy meter to refill. Some might be okay with this. For me, it makes it difficult to get wrapped up in the story and I’m already starting to lose interest. I’m literally logging in, playing for five minutes, run out of energy, log out and find something else to play. I’ve barely begun to play and it is already feeling more like a chore to open the game and play than an excitement. With that said, if the energy were not an issue, I would probably be playing all day. As I said before, the graphics are good. Also, the tasks are good and somewhat interesting. The ability to customize your character is enjoyable, despite having to pay to change certain physical features or clothes. I just wish I could actually play long enough to feel some sort of attachment to the game other than the pre-existing HP characters that have been included in the app.
Not what we hoped for
by Merjenta on 2019/02/06 06:31
I, like many others, hoped that this game would truly allow you to explore Hogwarts. I understand that’s quite a bit for an app, but surely it isn’t impossible. Let’s go over all the bad stuff first.. You basically have no choice but to follow the story line. You cannot interact with other characters unless prompted to do so. You need to unlock your lessons as the game progresses just as you can unlock certain parts of the castle as you move years while we know that in the books/movies, most of these classes and places are available to us. There are many inaccuracies with the dialogue and where characters are in certain chapters and the graphics could really be a smidge better. Also, where are the voices?? This game would’ve been better if it was a little more like the Sims or even allowed other players to show up in your game. I dislike that I cannot make my own choices and that certain tasks take so long to become available. I would’ve paid for the game outright to avoid some of these things. I know you’re trying to make gameplay a little longer, but with the money that you could’ve made just asking us to purchase the game instead of making it free, would’ve made so much of a difference and allowed the developers more of an option to take on these tasks. Otherwise, this game isn’t awful. The story is interesting and I enjoy the side tasks and classes. But for the HP fandom, it just needs MORE.
It isn’t bad
by lesterlily49 on 2018/12/12 17:23
I’m only in Year One, but my experience so far is not wonderful. The “energy” element is frustrating. To get through a Five Star lesson you need around 30-something energy points, and after you spend what you have, you need to wait four minutes for a single point to recharge. If you don’t mind games where you have to put down your device for a couple hours in order to keep playing, it isn’t bad at all, but I was hoping for something more engaging. This game is hardly mentally engaging. There is barely a mystery, you just have to keep slowly following the plot. Not only is it difficult to get through a single lesson, you sometimes need even more energy just to unlock the lesson. The classes themselves involve no challenge. All you do is tap things, trace shapes occasionally, and answer pretty easy Wizarding World trivia questions. All in all my criticisms are really just “too based on the energy element and not enough plot”. However I’m still playing. It’s okay as a time killer. The graphics are very nice and I like that you can name your pets and magical creatures. The plot isn’t the best, but it isn’t terrible. I like how certain responses to questions need a certain level of Knowledge, Empathy, etc, and how you can make decisions that affect the course of the game. If you don’t mind prolonged gameplay and very simple interaction this game might be worth it for you. And maybe it gets better after Year One. I’ll keep playing.
2.8 stars. Sometimes fun, but the “tap the box and wait” approach is boring, and really uncreative
by Shooopylally on 2018/09/14 22:02
I am on Year 2 Chapter 7 and so far, it has been a great time. It’s wonderful to finally be a part of Hogwarts! My only problem is the waits. Many people deleted the app within the first few chapters, and I assure you, the vast majority of them did it because of having to wait hours to get out of devil snare. And if they didn’t delete it then, they probably did later because there’s tons more of waits like that and longer. 3 hour waits, 8 hour waits. You can hardly play for ten minutes before encountering something where you have to wait at least an hour. Plus with the style the game is in right now, there really isn’t much fun in hogwarts classes. HP fans have waited for YEARS to attend hogwarts classes, and now the best shot we have at that is this game, and frankly they are just kind of boring. You really just tap boxes, wait a couple hours, and tap more boxes . It’s really just not interactive or fun enough. The funnest parts are the duels, which are more interactive, and more challenging. And for classes i would really suggest stopping the “tap the box” approach. Maybe make students actually do work to brew a potion, grab the right ingredients, stir this amount of time. That’s way more fun than tapping boxes. Overall I find the game fun, but i also think there are lots of things that could make it WAY more fun. It’s just a little disappointing.
Fun to experience but painful to play
by Triskept on 2018/05/12 20:28
As a major fan of both the books and movies of Harry Potter, I was very happy to find this game and experience Hogwarts for myself. What I found though shortly after the first few scenes was the game is predecided. I mean that as the game takes you where they’ve decided you’re going to go. You have some freedom to wander but the activities take you here and there and it’s not much fun. The major problem I have with the game is that while doing these predecided tasks, you have to perform actions that require “energy”. Energy recharges 1 per 4 minutes and you start with 25 energy. The problem is, ONE activity like this uses anywhere from 20-40 energy to complete. Meaning you can only do one activity at a time without having to exit the game and let your energy recharge. This completely ruins the experience and stops me from enjoying the game as I can’t do more than one thing without being prompted to buy “gems”. Now I know every game has some micro transaction system but this is ridiculous. You’re ruining the game singlehandedly by making it take a month to do 1 year of the game. My consumer opinion is that you either increase the amount of energy you get from the start or reduce the amount of time it takes to recharge/complete tasks. I know you may be trying to extend the lifetime of the game seeing as there is only 3 years but you’re killing the fun of it. I love Harry Potter and this game is cool but it needs work.
A Need for Energy
by ILoveHamilton on 2018/12/28 15:21
I downloaded this app fairly recently, probably somewhere in November of 2018. The graphics are really good, the storyline is promising- it's actually a really good game. It gave me the feeling that I was actually at Hogwarts! I could make friends, investigate suspicious things, and have fun with my house mates. And, the overall story arc is well thought out and intriguing. There is only one thing that made me uninstall it. Yes, it was that big of a problem for me. Every activity you do, you need energy to complete. And you only have 25 energies after a long recharge. Which means, it could take hours to complete a task and move on. And, what is even more pressuring, is that these tasks have time limits. Which means if you don't have enough energy to complete them at a single time, you have to wait and risk losing your progress if the time is up while you are waiting for the energy recharge. I'm not sure if it's able to be done, but once I got to a certain point, I was at a standstill. Every time I tried to get to a new level, I would miss the time limit. Even through I tried to love this game as much as I could, and even though this game is a very lovable game, I had to give up due to me not being able to get out of first year. I hope someday, someone is able to get past the first year level and have true fun with the game. It has serious potential, I'm just sad I couldn't get to it. Maybe I will try again in the future.
Good game, needs some improvements
by jewely julie on 2018/08/21 01:18
When I first saw that a Harry Potter game had arrived at the App Store, I immediately downloaded it without giving much of a second thought to it. I’ve always loved Harry Potter, and I couldn’t wait to experience the magic of Hogwarts. It’s certainly a fun game, but a bit lacking in magic. Overall, I have no technical concerns. Customer service was very helpful and got back to me quickly when I had issues, and the game works fine. I don’t have a problem with the energy itself. I understand the reasons for it, I just wish there was more you could do in between. The few mini games available at the moment aren’t fantastic. Dueling lacks any skill, gobstones is a little rude (you’re supposed to use your friends’ weaknesses), and classes are too often and too boring. I’m stuck going from one three hour thing to another where I just click and wait. And many characters are a little mean. I don’t understand why everyone got so mad at my character for losing points when I was still getting more points than anyone else in my house! Right now, I have twenty more points than the student with the second most points earned out of all of Hogwarts, yet my house is still third. Of course, I’m still on Year One, so maybe things will work out in the end? Overall, it’s fun enough and it’s the only Harry Potter app out there, so I recommend it.
Dueling Club EDITED
by Havefaith23 on 2018/07/14 01:03
Overall this game is amazing. I think that the loading time for energy is fair and with new ways to acquire energy it became a lot better. Very recently is the dueling club feature which I absolutely love. After 3 loses you have to wait 24 hours before being able to duel again which is fair. The only problem? It’s 24 hours of playing time. The app has to be open and running for the timer to run down and receive your tickets to duel. I’m on this app tops of 2 hours a day and with events like the ones that are running now there is absolutely no way for me to completely them. I don’t know if it’s a glitch or intentional but this is something that needs to be fixed. EDIT: The issue has been somewhat addressed. Now it’s only 15 minutes of playing time to get new tickets which is completely fair. However now when you duel, stamina levels are not the same with your opponent. Your player level is 40 while your opponent’s is doubled at 80! It makes being able to win a duel much harder and a lot more frustrating. If you make as little as 2 wrong moves the match is over. EDIT 2: You know how last time we just had to wait a certain amount of time to get dueling tickets? Not anymore! Because now you have to pay 120 diamonds just the get 3 more tickets! That’s utterly ridiculous! Can there please be some consistency??? I can’t complete the challenges for dueling club because I refuse to pay so much for for 3 tickets that can be used up in 2 minutes
Good but room for improvement
by OsmundsonM on 2018/10/03 02:04
I enjoy this game despite the energy system. It’s a stretch to call it an RPG as the roles and choices are limited and restrictive. But it is enjoyable. I have two suggestions for changes. The most annoying thing about the game is the inconsistent system during lessons and earning stars to complete the lesson and move forward in the story. Sometimes energy is used to its max, in that if you use five energy points and only needed one to get the next stars, the star meter will give you all five energy points, progressing past the star. This is the least common scenario. What usually happens is that in the same scenario, using five energy points when only one is needed, you’ll lose the other four, and there’s a hard stop at the star. I hope this makes sense. Yes, sometimes it’s possible to get the exact number you need to get the star, but more often than not, it is not possible. I would like to think that this isn’t the developers’ strategy to make more money by forcing people to buy gems. Maybe it works for some people. Imo, this is bad design. If you’re going to have an energy system, make it consistent and fair. Updated: I have noticed now that you get the unneeded energy back if you give five and only needed two to get another star. the other three will return to your energy queue. Very nice change, much appreciated. :)
A slow game of social role playing
by Auntie in 7th Heaven on 2018/09/07 17:45
If you are expecting a fast game of non-stop battles against the death eaters, this is quite the opposite. It focuses on pretending to make friends with npcs by answering trivia questions, going to classes, and very slowly traversing an entertaining mystery story. The slowness comes largely from gaining the necessary energy to proceed at the rate of one point every four minutes. Even if you buy energy to speed forward, many adventures specify that you cannot go to the next part for some period, often eight hours. All this means is that you should plan to play for a couple of minutes and then do other things until you can play for a few more minutes. The strength of the game is that it well delivers the atmosphere of the books and movies: riding a broomstick, learning magic, becoming an animagus, a healer, and a curse breaker. There is infrequent dueling (slightly more if you pay extra). Although the classes that you have to take over and over are usually as boring and repetitive as they seem to little children, the story is cute enough so I find myself laughing out loud at the jokes. Player choices have a significant effect on it, so that you may find yourself deeply involved, which could be frustrating while you are waiting for hours to see if you are strangled by a plant, caught sneaking into Filch”s office, or imprisoned forever in a cursed vault.
Great Game-but I need one more thing
by my_name_is: on 2018/11/20 01:37
This game is so much fun, besides that one annoying thing we always complain about: the energy. Maybe 1 energy every 1 min and 30 secs? Besides that, there is another thing that really annoys me. All this talk about quidditch, and yet I never get to play. The first year(I’m year four now) I was really looking forward to kicking Merula’s buttocks in a quidditch match when I realised they don’t actually play. The characters talk quite a bit about the annual game, and I don’t see any of it. Other than these two problems, I’m really enjoying the new update! The animals that’ve been added are soooo cool like the spider and kneazel. The magizoology concept is awesome too. Tbh though I don’t really understand why there are different colored notebooks(and it’s overwhelming)and it’s kinda difficult to get them. Maybe we could be able to get 1 notebook every class? I love how easy it is to get treat bags though! The grasslands, forests, lake, and volcanic area are so beautiful; those graphics were done amazingly well. Although, I still think the basic/original things like the main character walking, making different facial expressions, moving in any way, etc still need to be polished. All in all, the game is so much fun. However, I hope this seemed less of a “review” and more of like a suggestion’s box. Love most of what’s going on so far, though!!🐍💚💚
Fun, but needs improvement
by jewellangela on 2018/11/16 16:02
I used to play this a lot, but several updates ago I started losing interest after I noticed the energy refills for classes and quests had been tweaked. Before the update, I was able to complete an hour class with my energy at full (with a little help from my pets). And 3 hour classes I could finish with a full bar, by gathering all the extra energy hidden throughout the castle and by watching ads. Now, even with all that help I fall short and it takes me multiple logins to complete something I used to be able to do in one go. I’m not okay with this. The purpose of this game should be to make us WANT to stay logged in and playing. But it’s such an obvious money-grab, I just get frustrated and refuse to go back later. That means I’m playing my other games and giving money to THEM instead, because I actually have fun and feel like I’m accomplishing something. Here, I feel like I’m on a hamster wheel, and no matter how often I login and play, they won’t let me off until the greedy corporation’s pockets get filled. And although the animal update is adorable, I know the same flaws are going to be present when it comes to feeding/bonding, so I really see no reason to even bother. Which is sad, because I used to have fun and felt my time was well spent, and even gave a couple dollars here and there, but now I’m refusing on principle alone.
Happy Ravenclaw 😍 but not completely satisfied
by Hannality on 2018/04/29 22:41
I love HP so much and nearly fell to tears when I found out this came was out. The graphics and plot are really good and got me nearly hooked. Other reviews talked negatively about it just being a point and click game and that didn’t bother me much, I still get to see the beautiful parts of Hogwarts even if it it’s seconds between missions. The biggest reason I'm rating this 3 stars is first the customization of your character. I don’t mind paying for clothes other than my ropes but hairstyles? I’ve never seen a game charge for hairstyles. I’m a poc and I have dreads and that hair style is free but my sister has an afro and she’s pretty upset she has to wait till she hits level 15 to really look like herself in this game. The other issue is the whole energy situation. You only have 24 energy and once you use any of them, it takes 4 min to reload one (time in the game goes quiet slowly imo). The first few missions you can get through in one sitting but after that you run out of energy fast and for me I don’t have money to buy more so I usually just wait and play another game but the missions have a set time you’re supposed to complete them and I usually forget to check up on my energy before I’ve run out of time and have to start the mission all over again. This is very frustrating and I’m not sure how much longer I can play till I end up deleting this game. Please fix
I thought this game was amazing at first, but there are some issues.
by Potter/Dracolover on 2019/07/09 14:30
I generally love the idea that you get to make your own character and experience the wonders of Hogwarts in this game. I also love all the ideas and details that went into it. However, I am left a bit disappointed. It takes hours on end to complete classes and there is 10 chapters per year. I'm sorry, but I can only be patient for a little while and then I don't want to wait any longer. And I don't like the fact that the energy only fills to 25 or something. And it takes four minutes just for one energy. That means it takes an hour and 45 minutes to get full energy. I managed to complete all ten chapters of year one. But, when I got to the part where I won the House Cup the game kept crashing and exiting in the middle of a scene. So, I checked to make sure it wasn't an internet problem it wasn't. I finally managed to get past that scene and make it to year two, but now it gets frozen and exits the game every time I go to the feast at the beginning of year two. If the game company can fix these problems then I would give it 5 stars, but I'm giving it four because I'm a little mad. I do love the overall concept though. And they said they fixed this crashing problem with the latest update, but they are wrong I got the update and it fixed NOTHING!!! So FIX IT!!!!
Meh...

Don’t get me wrong I absolutely LOVE Harry Potter, and this game! My first complaint, (of few) is that, it’s kind of a rip off. I chose Gryffindor thinking I would be able to enjoy my years art hogwarts with Ron, Hermione, and Harry Potter himself! If I had known ahead of time that Harry Potter wouldn’t have been in the game, I would’ve picked Ravenclaw and not Gryffindor!!! Adding on to that, you could’ve at least put in two or three questions before you asked what house we wanted so then it would seem mor like you’re putting us into the house we belong in. Which leads me to another complaint, LAZINESS! I mean graphics are good and it seems different than the movies/books but is it really? All of you reading this reflect on the storyline of this game and the storyline of the original work and you’ll see what I’m talking about. My last two complaints are: PRICE AND TIME!!!! Nothing that looks cool or would be useful is affordable! For a while anyways. And the waiting is like 89.9% of the game!!!! You have to wait for energy or pay for more. You have to wait for certain things to be available. You have to wait to duel again or pay!!! I like this game a lot, but it just doesn’t bring as much magic to me as the books and movies did!!! I hope you see this developers and on behalf of us HP lovers, and not insanely rich people, make some changes. Thank you very much.
Love this game but.......
by MsW0rld on 2018/07/08 14:24
I have been playing this game for awhile now and absolutely love it. I will even set timers so I know when to go back and finish my mission (when energy refills). It is a bit annoying that it takes 4 minutes per 1 energy but beggars can’t be choosers! I’m not big on spending money on games but I’m at a point where I’m stuck trying to duel the boggart Voldemort and my courage points are at level 17 (needs to be level 19) to beat him. I have tried dueling him but fail each time. I have spent most of my money buying clothes and I even purchased the $6.99 gems deal just now. Also spent all of those on clothes. I am now at level 18, tried a duel twice and lost both times, now I am out of money and gems! Problem is now that I’ve spent $6.99 on gems, spent all the gems and game money I am stuck! I can not get out of the duel screen to go do a class to earn courage points and or money. It will not let me out no matter what I do. I want to keep playing but at this point I can’t go any further at all. I am stuck. The only option I have is to spend more real money, which I really don’t want to do. Before I spent the $6.99 on gems I was able to come and go. As I was doing flying classes to build up my courage points, which is what I was going to do today. Is there anything you can do to help me? If we get this fixed I will change my rating and review to a 5 star! Please help! Thank you....
Bad Energy Usage Setup, amazing otherwise
by Mastiff19 on 2018/06/13 09:44
For a free mobile game this is stunningly beautiful and involved so I’m grateful for that. Also getting to explore Hogwarts as “my own” experience. However like many of the reviews mention the energy system is a cash grab and honestly takes almost all of the fun out of the game. I’ll be finishing out of principal and my obsession with HP, but that’s the only reason why. I’m only on year two and it takes all of my energy to do half a lesson, then you wait almost two hours for it to refill. I wouldn’t mind waiting a day if I could actually play for an hour or so straight. Also the game could’ve had more creativity with the story line and maybe extracurricular activities. Instead you just click to accomplish things, do classroom time not learning to unlock lessons, and basically do whatever the game wants you to do. Most of the choices given to you only affect what rewards you get but not the storyline or what you do, and now in Year 2 I cant even pick most of the choices because my levels aren’t adequate. That is pretty irritating since the game is so structured. The only real change you can make is in your friend choice and the game gives you 3 and lets you focus more on certain ones so it doesn’t matter much. Most of the creativity and choosing is early on then it levels out and you just click and wait and click and wait. I hope a better, updated game from the HP universe comes out soon. This was a disappointment

This is a wonderful app for hp fans. In it, you get to be a made-up character at hogwarts, make friends, go to class, use spells, do activities, and go on adventures. You make choices to make the story custom. I disagree with reviews that say choices don’t change the plot. Not every choice effects the game but there are some make a difference to the plot for sure. I do not think there is a problem with the energy, either. It doesn’t take THAT long to refill and because it has a limit it stops you from playing excessively. I also think it’s cool that aside from the plot you can build friendships and do fun hp activities on the side like playing gobstones. Not many of these interactive story games have many things aside from the main plot like that. I have two suggestions for the app, so if you write a review and agree with them than please consider putting it in your review so maybe the creators will add it to the app. 1. Could you add an option to play with your pets or train your pets in the game? It was disappointing, in my opinion, to see that they only gave you energy, no being able to interact with the pets. 2. Please add some more hairstyles and outfits. There is not a lot of variety. In the end, I highly recommend this app for adults and kids who like hp.
Amazing game, but still has a few minor drawbacks.
by theboywholived7 on 2018/07/02 17:35
It’s a really great game, this HP fangirl is very pleased. I love the story, and most things about the game. However: the energy situation. Anyone who has played this game would understand what I’m talking about. I’m sure you developer people have heard plenty about it, so I’ll save you some grief. Just please at least TRY to do SOMETHING about it. 2: Pets. The pets in Harry Potter are one thing all true fans have dreamed of having. Owls especially. So why do they have to cost so many gems? I mean, I know part of it is marketing strategy, but it seriously disappoints me and I’m sure it disappoints others who love the series as much as I do. Owls are such an important part in Harry Potter, it disappoints me that it will probably take me months to save up that much gems. Show your game players that your game isn’t JUST to make money off of. Help their dreams of getting an owl come true, instead of placing 300 some gems in their way. Please. Other than those two things, I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH!!! I would recommend it to all Harry Potter fans, EVERYWHERE!!! It is truly an amazing game. Sure, it has it’s downfalls, just like everything else, but it is a truly incredible game that has made a lot of my Harry Potter dreams come true!! Thank you for hearing my opinion. I truly appreciate your time.
5 star! Big Harry Potter fan!

First of all, there were a few bugs after I downloaded it like it would take forever to load or get stuck on the load screen or even shut off on me. I was very upset in that regard because I’ve been waiting ad waiting for this game to come out. After restarting the app a few times though it all seemed to work itself out and doesn’t glitch anymore. Which I’m thankful for because I was beginning to think I couldn’t play the game and I became very upset over that fact. Anyway, after getting it to work itself out and able to work, I am very pleased with the story line and the way it interacts with the player. I am a very huge harry potter fan. I grew up on Harry Potter. I’ve been waiting for a game like this to come out and the day it came out I downloaded it. The only question I have is do you actually get to go through all 7 years?? That would be ideal if we could! I like the fact you can choose your own story path basically and the spells are so much fun to learn. It kind of reminds me of a sims game just by the graphics. Which the graphics are indeed amazing! Couldn’t have done a better job with that! All in all I’m very impressed with the developers and I hope to see more updates on the game in the future (Watch it grow type thing).
Have just a few things
by Someone!~ on 2019/06/26 00:46
Ok I absolutely love this game. Sure there are a few things that are annoying but overall the story and characters you meet in this game are just simply amazing. When Bill graduated I felt like I was back in HS seeing my senior friends leaving, which is when you know you have an awesome game. Alright but here are some of the things that I really wish were fixed. BOOKS. Ok you guys introduced the Mythological creatures and they take books. That’s fine. But. There are literally no opinions to get books other than school pride things (which are horrible and super irritating) or once in a blue moon receiving one as a level up gift. Either get rid of them (instead maybe buy creatures for coins?), or find more ways to give them out please!! Another thing is the romance options- don’t get me wrong I love them! Let us romance more people please! For example I have always loved Charlie, even though there wasn’t a lot on his character in the books I found myself totally fascinated as a kid reading about him- because I also love dragons- let us romance a Weasley please please please. I understand Bill because we know his character gets married in the end but characters like Charlie we know have never had other relationships! (I just want to be a Weasley please)
Almost perfect game.
by Rommel9087 on 2018/04/28 02:18
The energy system is the only thing keeping me from giving this 5/5. This is an excellent game with a clearly well thought out story, good graphics, and is generally fun and exciting to play. However the wait period and the energy system get on my nerves. I tried doing a mission that gave me a limit of 3 hours. I just missed the amount of stars I needed to win, thought for a moment about buying some energy, but decided against it. So that was a lot of energy and 3 hours wasted. It is impossible to expect everyone playing this game to be able to check and use the energy whenever they get it, after all most people have school or work where you might not be able to play, so a 3 hour + time requirement to finish a quest seems almost absurd. I understand why you included the energy system, but honestly for this quality of game if you had just made it cost money, and even in the $5-$10 range, and eliminated the energy system, I would have still bought it. I bet many people feel similarly. At the very least increase the amount of energy you can store to around 50 or so, or maybe reduce the time for the energy to reload. Great job on the game guys, and if I recommend this game, even if the energy system, to anyone who loves the wizard world of Harry Potter.
Fun but a major drawback
by ScottBytes on 2019/04/08 22:52
The game has a Harry Potter feel to it (though this is a prequel)....familiar locations and characters, recognizable spells and stories. It’s easy to enjoy the deceptively simple mechanics. But word of warning: this game has two primary issues and one is a major drawback. Issue: Your natural instinct will be to race through the primary story. DON’T. The mechanics are set up where you’re only really rewarded for repeating the same classes and tasks over and over to get house points and improved traits or build friendships. Ignore the main story quest log and repeat classes A LOT or you’ll lose the house cup and have stats too low for an acceptable second year (everything is much harder as a result). This will absolutely help you - do NOT finish your first year with low traits. Repeat ad nauseum and raise them. Drawback: Energy. It’s that simple. They’ve engineered the refill clock to be one point per four minutes. But that can seriously stifle the fun and is the main reason people delete the game. One simple activity that only offers a fraction of progress within an objective can cost 5 energy. You’ll be waiting 100 minutes for enough energy to do more tasks. This will force you to log in at specific times in an 8 hour period to complete an objective (or have it fail / lose house points). This is slow even by Freemium standards and is designed to create an artificial pay wall.
ENERGY
by NoahFireSword on 2018/08/22 19:28
The game is very fun I’ve been playing it for about 5 days now the concept is great the characters are fun and it would be an amazing 5 star game...if it wasn’t for the energy problem my first day I turned on the game and though”Oh wow a Harry Potter game that actually looks fun” and it was fun for 5 minutes then I had to turn the game off and wait for 1.6 hours yes I calculated it 5 minutes of gameplay then you have to wait for more than an hour and a half. Some people argue that slowing the game down makes it more fun and while that is true they WAY overdue that. There have been times where I pick up the game push a button a couple of times make a gesture then turn the game off an amazing 20 seconds of gameplay if the energy problem wasn’t there I would legitimately pay money to download the game but with the energy problem it gets 3 stars I think to improve the game they should make it either shorten the timer from 4 minutes per single ball of energy to 30 seconds or make it so you can do one mission or quest every half hour because there have been times where I start a quest and it takes four play sessions to finish it it’s ridiculously please shorten the timer If the energy thing went away or was even shortened this would easily be my number one mobile game huge fan of the series read all the books and watched all the movies k my rant is over take consideration to this 👌
I love the story but...
by GamesAreIncredible on 2018/07/30 15:58
I really enjoy the story aspect, it's really intriguing and fun to play through. The side quests are super fun and interesting and they add more depth to the characters that you meet throughout your journey. My main issue is that the limited-time Dueling Club events are horribly balanced and seem to be a money grab, in my opinion. Tickets don't regenerate over time and you have to pay 120 gems to get more once you've lost three times to the bot-controlled player avatars with twice your health. I, as a player who doesn't want to spend money on this game, spent the majority of the event collecting gems from side quests, friend interactions (i.e. meal with a friend), and watching videos until I had saved enough gems to fight again, only to lose while on my last battle to the final reward in three turns. If any developers are reading this, know that I will continue to enjoy the story but will continue to refuse to pay money for the ridiculously balanced dueling club tickets unless the ticket cost is lowered significantly (or, preferably, a timer to recharge tickets is added, but I understand that money needs to be made) and the enemies become more of an equal opponent, especially if our courage, intellect, and empathy are the same levels. If you want to continue using bots as opponents, perhaps add gear that increases our own characters health, resistance to other attacks, stun chance, etc. Thanks for the read!’
Fun but not as Interactive as Expected
by Barnneey on 2018/05/02 00:52
I love the Harry Potter franchise very much as it has played a huge role in my childhood, and I love this game. However, there are a few things I don’t like: I am a Ravenclaw so I should be a class with Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs based on the stories, but instead I am a class of Gryffindors and Slytherins; there are only three classes available at the beginning of the game, and you don’t even get to do much, the game consists of tapping the screen over and over until you run out of energy and have to wait forever to get more unless you want to spend tons of money to buy more; the game automatically assigned me a girl best friend who I actually find annoying whereas most of my best friends in real life are boys who act a lot different, but the game has no quiz or anything to learn more about my preferences, so it wouldn’t know any of that; I also feel like there should be more free choice, I want to have my own adventure at Hogwarts where I can choose to be good or evil or smart or stupid, and I know that requires a lot but I thought this would be more like the game Episode where your choices change your experience as opposed to this game where your choices are so limited they don’t really matter; in certain scenarios I am not allowed to respond as myself, instead I lose points for not lying about how I would feel because the game wants me to be confined to its definition of a good friend

Upset😐😶
by livpotatocat on 2019/08/25 16:06
DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ!!!🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻Overall this game is really fun and does not take up a lot of storage, but whenever i get to the part with expelliaramus and winning the first duel with Merula, I finish that part, I try to go to a lesson or a mission, or leave the courtyard or sometimes I just wait too long!
Anticlimactic

by Random Guy 667 on 2019/08/25 15:06
Just What is Jam City thinking 4 minutes for one energy its like you cant even do anything without having to use like 40 energy like calm down make energy recharge faster maybe like 2 minutes or 1 minute and a half.
This game is so fun and addicting!!

by Salem3075 on 2019/08/25 13:49
Love this game.

Fun Game / Problems / Complaints

This game is really fun! I have a great time playing this. Problems: I have finished Year 1, but on the Gather in the Great Hall mission, the game keeps on crashing and keeps on bringing me back to Year 1 Chapter 10. This game needs fixings. Overall a great game!
It’s fun🙂
by Earlpearlpup on 2019/08/25 04:35

by Philobetto on 2019/08/25 04:29

The app is always shutting down on me. It’s annoying not to have enough energy to do things and have to pay extra just to be able to function in the game. I’m just not into those types of games. Seems to be for young kids.

I love this game and harry potter but it has been glitchy at a duel and I don’t know how to fix it. But so far so good. .5 taken away from that one glitch and overpriced pets. It is a great app if you like harry potter and wanted your own Hogwarts story.

Love!

It’s just making me feel like I need reading glasses or something.

by snakexgod on 2019/08/23 14:02
I love Harry Potter and now being able to go to hogwarts before Harry was there is amazing.

Thanks!

Glitches
by Tailor-May on 2019/08/22 23:18
I would give this game five stars if it wasn’t for the glitches that occur when you go to the court yard. As of right now I can’t even complete the first year duel with merula since the game glitches and closes and during this scene the characters are In the wrong spaces and I can’t find a way around it.

:( otherwise, the game is amazing. once the energy thing is fixed, i’ll definitely rate it 5 stars!

by 1003dalmatians on 2019/08/22 17:02
i really like the game and it was well made, but i think restarting the game should be an option in the settings menu because i thought that it was annoying to have to contact help for it, and even when they said they restarted it, i uninstalled and reinstalled the game to having the same game as before.

Amazing but frustrating
by KEde01 on 2019/07/18 20:01
I absolutely love this game.
BEST GAME EVER!
by hanhandoggurls on 2019/02/25 17:49
This game is so amazing.

5 star! Big Harry Potter fan!
by jessalynn2009 on 2018/04/27 07:01
First of all, there were a few bugs after I downloaded it like it would take forever to load or get stuck on the load screen or even shut off on me.
