Get your act together

If you’re going to take my money, the least you could do is to design the app so that it actually does that. The app and the website both fail when I try to pay a citation. My account was debited and then instantly refunded. This isn’t 1995. E-commerce coding is so basic. Get your act together.

by dlove1 on 2019/06/02 19:44
It’s convenient but that’s about it. I had a wallet with a promo balance that disappeared when the app refreshed. And with the institution of the new app called the prices went up by about 50%. Yeah, the app is convenient, but the whole thing is a bit of a rip off
good but
by quasaar on 2019/05/26 21:45
This is a fine idea for a modern world but I feel if I pay a wallet amount in advance the incentive should be the convenience fee is waived. This whole idea is about convenience so that should be built into the cost.
What a joke
by HiHiDed on 2019/05/07 17:24
Forces me to refill my account with minimum $20 when account balance drops below $5. And there is absolutely no way you can alter this. Joke on you Evanston.
Guck off
by Uncle louie spinners on 2019/03/26 00:55
I meant funk off. I put 4 quarters for a hour in a meter only to get less time. I found out you asswipes raised the prices. I am so done with Evanston.
Slooow support
by chicgail on 2019/03/25 13:45
Took almost a week to fix what should have been a quick & easy fix. New iPhone is having problems finding and using this app so I contacted support. Email is the only option. No text chat. No phone. To make it more fun they respond to emailed concerns only once-a-day (weekdays only - good luck if problem happens on a Friday) and only first thing in the morning. Then nothing again until the next morning, no matter how much you beg.

Unfair Charges
by Evanston Citizen on 2019/02/27 22:40
So I have $6 left in my wallet and it’s making me refill my wallet (to $20) before I can use my $6. What a scam Evanston...this app is supposed to make it easier for your citizens to park, don’t steal our hard earned money. Also, you are charging a $1.00 if you pay less than the full time ($2)?? So basically I need to pay at least $1.25 to park every time??? Even for 15 minutes? I don’t know who voted on instituting this new parking system but you should have made this more user-friendly. The past few times I’be been at the Evanston gym all I hear in the locker rooms are people complaining about this app. Change it.
Convenience fee never mentioned
by jane-ev on 2019/02/14 14:36
This app seemed like a great idea but nowhere does it mention the 35 cents convenience fee you get charged every time. If you just need to park for 10 minutes that more than doubles the cost. It should be clearly stated so I knew before agreeing to all the terms.
No landscape orientation mode
by jonnda on 2018/12/09 18:28
Almost any app that forces me to look at a sideways image while I am typing with my ipad in it’s keyboard case gets one star. My other option is to type on a sideways keyboard, or take it out of the case and prop up my ipad in portrait mode while it’s case is in landscape. FIX THIS NOW!
Buggy and no clear way to contact for app support
by TwoBiteBowden on 2018/11/21 18:22
Whenever I go to use the app, it either shuts down or when I go to use my card on file, it says “authorization failure”. This happens even when I have funds in my bank, when I delete and re-type my card info, or when I use a different card. It hasn’t worked for the past few weeks and even when I uninstall and re-download the app. I’ve been trying to contact app support but when I go to their website, there is no page for app support or to report problems.

by I'm a B IM A B on 2018/10/05 22:13
I tried to add more time and the app didn’t ask if I wanted to add more time. I had to go get the space number off the meter again. Dumb!
Expensive!
by aglove on 2018/10/02 16:42
It charges you a $0.35 convenience fee, which you don’t have to pay if you’re paying at the station. That’s really annoying when you just want to park for 15 min to pick up some carry out. In that case, you pay more than twice as much. So all in all, convenient for longer parking, but expensive if you’re just trying to park momentarily.
Garbage
by chiefbigbox on 2018/09/27 01:51
Had to get the app because the kiosk was broken in the zone. Once I downloaded it and tried to pay it kept saying that the payment was invalid. Finally went through, I look at my bank statement later that night and find 6 charges for the app. No contact info in app. I want my money back!!!!! Never going to use the app again. Another example of a city outsourcing to unreliable 3rd parties.

by Mortified_dipthong on 2018/07/29 23:56
Charges a convenience fee that’s pretty large every time you park. This fee is not at the meters. If you use the meters mostly for short stops like carry out, could double your parking costs. This is true no matter which funding method you use in the app (including the wallet that you fund $20 at a time).

Works well enough. Would be nice if it used location see to tell where I am and suggest the nearest space.
Terrible, horrible, very bad app.
by 86 That on 2018/04/11 03:55
This app should offer convenience. It only offers headaches. The interface is so ridiculously bad that you’ll revert to just carrying rolls of quarters. New Session: first, the app asks you what zone you’re in. On your internet-connected, GPS-enabled phone. It wants you to do this for it. There is also a typo and/or mangled English on the explanatory text on this screen. Enter the space: QR codes on the meters, maybe? Or even camera text recognition? A location-aware selection of the few nearest meters’ numbers? Nope, nope, and nope. Walk around the meter until you find the sticker. Copy in the number and don’t make any mistakes. If you are past the metered time — that is, if you are trying to pay when it’s actually FREE to park — you get the message “Parking Not Allowed.” This is the app LYING to you for its own nefarious reasons. Maybe it wants that space for itself. Now it’s time to enter the duration of your stay. Even though every permutation of hours and quarter hours could easily fit on the screen for you to easily choose from, you’ll get to use little scrolly controls just because it takes longer. Important: never, ever allow the app to lose your payment information. It is a brutal, frustrating experience trying to restore it. Just kidding. It’s not up to you — the app will simply jettison your payment info for no reason that it will ever reveal. I sure hope you remember your PIN. What’s that you say? You don’t, because why would a fingerprint-enabled device require use of a PIN? Well, I guess you think you’re more clever than every single developer at Passport. There’s more. You’ll find it. My city has chosen this abomination as its solution to coin-free meter payment. The only reasonable response is to start walking everywhere. So as a Health & Fitness app, I guess it gets five stars.

Change it.
Expensive!
by aglove on 2018/10/02 16:42
It charges you a $0.35 convenience fee, which you don’t have to pay if you’re paying at the station. That’s really annoying when you just want to park for 15 min to pick up some carry out. In that case, you pay more than twice as much. So all in all, convenient for longer parking, but expensive if you’re just trying to park momentarily.
“Spotty”, at best
by Kliebs61 on 2017/11/30 15:14
This app worked for precisely two days. When I went to use it the third day, it would neither permit me to log in nor create a new account, repeatedly giving me an error message that my phone number (used without issue the prior two days) was “invalid”. I tried it on my iPad, too, to rule out an issue with my cell. Same problem. Had to run to catch a train, so I am expecting a ticket when I return to my car.
Garbage
by chiefbigbox on 2018/09/27 01:51
Had to get the app because the kiosk was broken in the zone.
Convenient
by gprimosch on 2018/06/27 13:14
Works well enough. Would be nice if it used location see to tell where I am and suggest the nearest space.
Get your act together
by Viiv on 2019/07/14 15:56
If you’re going to take my money, the least you could do is to design the app so that it actually does that. The app and the website both fail when I try to pay a citation. My account was debited and then instantly refunded. This isn’t 1995. E-commerce coding is so basic. Get your act together.
More expensive than meter
by Mortified_dipthong on 2018/07/29 23:56
Charges a convenience fee that’s pretty large every time you park. This fee is not at the meters. If you use the meters mostly for short stops like carry out, could double your parking costs. This is true no matter which funding method you use in the app (including the wallet that you fund $20 at a time).
Meh
by dlove1 on 2019/06/02 19:44
It’s convenient but that’s about it. I had a wallet with a promo balance that disappeared when the app refreshed. And with the institution of the new app called the prices went up by about 50%. Yeah, the app is convenient, but the whole thing is a bit of a rip off
So convenient
by Pinkswhirled-g on 2017/12/09 01:41
Easy to use, easy to update.
Meters are cheaper
by Joana_IL on 2017/12/14 18:45
This app requires a 1 hour minimum for each session that doesn’t exist at the meters. Also adds a $0.35 convenience fee for each session which doesn’t exist at the meters, even though it charges your credit card in $20 increments. Using the meters is much cheaper :(
Works like a Charm

Very easy to use and fast.
Best parking app

Love this so convenient
Not thought through
by I'm a B IM A B on 2018/10/05 22:13
I tried to add more time and the app didn’t ask if I wanted to add more time. I had to go get the space number off the meter again. Dumb!
What a joke
by HiHiDed on 2019/05/07 17:24
Forces me to refill my account with minimum $20 when account balance drops below $5.
Great app!
by Stammmy on 2019/03/06 21:51
Works great!!
Charging a fee
by Dcies on 2018/07/31 20:50
Real shifty. Having to pay ever 2 hours isn’t convenient for anything
Can’t use remaining balance!
by JayMee07 on 2019/03/05 20:32
App will not let you ever use remaining balance under $5. Ripoff.
Not working
by Yellow groove on 2019/03/19 15:39
I put in valid space and it says invalid
Convenience fee
by J scoop on 2019/03/13 21:37
Convenience fee is a joke.
