Omg macro kart is an awesome game but leveling up and rubies are just too hard and over priced, but other than that I have a lot of fun playing
Game Crashing Problems
by Full Sends Only 💯 on 2019/11/19 10:59
I’ve been waiting for something like this since I was a little kid . It’s finally here Mario Kart at your fingertips. However, this app has a HUGE problem with crashing. I’ll try to start the app and it takes FOREVER to actually open. Sometimes I have to wait a couple days for it to work - no lie , literally days - It is a fantastic game. Very fun and entertaining, but the creators need to fix this problem !! 👍🏻
Would of gave it 5 stars BUT
by FlykiingJunior on 2019/11/19 10:07
bro i put a little bit of funds in here CAUSE I LIKE no I LOVE PLAYING but I never get anything out of the pipe for my rubies I either worked hard for or purchase pleaseeeee change this why the game unfair smh

by Kittymeow0764 on 2019/11/19 09:59
This gane was really fun in the beginning I’m on lever 12 and although it is addicting the more races you play the harder it is to earn stars the scores that you need to reach are ridiculous n it’s like impossible ik aim not alone on this it’s a good gane but it need to be improved majorly and listen to the reviews!! This game will die down real fast if this is how hard it’s gonna be and don’t even get me started on the prices it’s ridiculous
Love Love Love this game and have loved this always😏🧡

No complaints. I love Nintendo, been playing their games for 25 years!!😄
Would give it 5 stars but.......
by Booman4132 on 2019/11/19 08:52
I love Mario Kart. It reminds me of my childhood and all the good times I had growing up with it. But the RNG is broken. I spent over 120 rubies and pretty much got a bunch of useless stuff. In order to compete in your tier you need to have a least the driver and a cart or glider for that course. So needless to say, I will not be paying for the subscription anymore and I’m going to be deleting the game until they fix this. I’d rather pay 50 bucks for the game then to have to keep buying BS rubies and a 5 dollar monthly subscription to get a bunch of useless stuff. Nintendo board of directors, you bunch of greedy SOBs.
Who owns this EA?
by Mikey33358 on 2019/11/19 08:34
I remember the old days when $5/month got you an ad free experience AND seamless gameplay with no barrage for yet further payup gatchas. This is the new Oxycodone for youth.
Can’t steer
by KC1974 on 2019/11/19 08:23
The new controls are awful. Frenzy - I’m now sliding all over the place. Cancelled gold for now until there’s an update I can actually play.
The best!!!

Gambling for Children
by Matthew Hoinville on 2019/11/19 07:12
You spend real world money on rubies to spend on Lootboxes (pulling the pipe.) $69.99 gets you 30 lootboxes, which usually nets you about a 14% chance of getting the spotlight character for the current tour. So many mobile games deserve 1 star reviews, but this title is especially disgusting because Mario Kart's primary demographic is children. It is unacceptable that Nintendo is openly preying on children for their parent's money. The core gameplay is extremely fun. It's Mario Kart for your phone! It feels and plays exactly how you'd hope a Mario Kart game for your phone would play. But the gambling, coupled with the constant hounding to pay for the gold pass, coupled with the dishosnesty in regards to whether or not you're facing real players, makes me seriously regret installing this and telling my little cousin to install it.
Normally Fine
by NeverAgain2017! on 2019/11/19 06:56
I love the game, its great! BUT for the last 24 hrs I haven’t been able to play it because it just randomly crashes most of the time during a race!!! FIX PLEASE!
No longer fun
by what the.......? on 2019/11/19 06:18
Game was fun the first couple weeks. Despite paying $5 a month, you’ll still need to pay for gems to unlock certain carts and gliders to place well in the weekly tournaments. Outrageous and endless money pit.
Hate new steering
by Lollysakitty79 on 2019/11/19 05:58
I live this game so much but the steering update is the worst thing ever. I only use automatic because it does the drifting for you and I got used to it and now it’s way harder and confusing. Please please please change it back. Also, multiplayer would be cool to have at some point.
Motion Sickness after update 1.2.0
by ZeeZee11• on 2019/11/19 05:12
Many of us loved this game as it was so much addictive fun until the latest update 1.2.0. Apparently the controls were updated. Now the auto steering isn’t tight and drifts much more but harder to direct steering as accurately. Whatever the developers have done has made it impossible for most of our group to play without getting motion sickness. We used to play for hours and loved trying to gain higher scores and also had fun picking purchase deals and rubies to obtain better drivers, cars and flyers to help clear tours. Unfortunately we can no longer play this game because of dizzying effects in the game causing wooziness, upset stomach , headaches and vomiting. Therefore it is pointless for us to continue in app purchases or even continue having the app. If Nintendo Mario Karr Tour Developers do not fix the issues we will regretfully have to uninstall this app. Hope this review helps.
Drift button?!
by jasmyne.00 on 2019/11/19 03:42
This new drift button is horrible! Enough to make me delete the app and it was a good idea! Cmon.
Bad update
by Tim Reinke on 2019/11/19 03:24
Please get rid of the new “steer” button. The game was perfect, but is now annoying with the “steer” button on the bottom of the screen. Now I’m afraid they’ll make another random update to make the game worse.

SUPER AMAZING... But it needs something else
by Loco Taco 🌮🌮 on 2019/11/19 02:50
Ever since this game came out, I’ve been addicted to it, playing during class, when I’m bored, late in the night, really fun, but the robots getting pretty annoying, I don’t like that we can add friends but CANT EVEN PLAY WITH THEM. Like all my friends and I want to play each other but we can’t. That’s what really bothers me.... come on, you can do better Mario Kart
Great game but...
by CQ493 on 2019/11/19 02:35
The lag can be game breaking. When you’re drifting the game will sometimes freeze and not restart until you let go which give you the boost, often into an area of trouble. In a competitive game it can destroy your score. Other than that it’s a fun mobile distraction.
Change the controls back!!!!!
by Ndfoster on 2019/11/19 02:01
Had the game since day one and have loved it UNTIL today. The new control update is god awful! PLEASE CHANGE THE CONTROLS BACK or at least give users the option of “Classic” controls

by Juancx13 on 2019/11/19 01:52
cmon y the F is there a paywall can yoU guys do what animal Crossing is doing, it would be better off in the long run. Make a more profitable method that includes all featUres for free players like clash of clans. No one wants to buy a stupid subscription for a mobile Mario kart game. It’s absurd
1.2.0 ruined drift
by Cookie Markster on 2019/11/19 01:32
I like this game a lot. I started using manual drift from the beginning and was able to quickly master it. The latest release changed how it worked and it is much harder to control. Steering feels extremely sensitive. I play on a tablet was able to use both thumbs, one to drift and the other to steer. This gave me excellent control. The new mechanism seems limited to one-finger play. Before the update I was winning most races. After the update I’m finishing close to last. I’ll unsubscribe gold for now. Maybe a future update will bring me back.
Want to love it
by Chaddyc20 on 2019/11/19 01:03
Every time I play this game it pulls my driver to the right. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling but every time it will just pull to the right and it’s super frustrating. Help please cause I want to continue to play.
Please fix
by dnj1989 on 2019/11/19 00:18
How do you play the friends you add??? That’s my only problem and why does it only have two laps when it should be three laps? When is the IMBOUND gonna open??
Why change a good thing?
by Bruddy1353 on 2019/11/18 23:53
The recent update has ruined the game. You have a small drift button at the bottom of the screen that is annoying and if you don’t drift you just crash. So it’s either stop racing or crash. Nintendo made a mistake with this update
No

Super Boring without Multiplayer
by Xander7204 on 2019/11/18 23:06
This game used to be so popular but it has now died out. The only thing that could possibly bring it back is the multiplayer function. Me and my friends would wait for each new update waiting for multiplayer but now we just don’t even care. The game says multiplayer will be coming out on future updates, so when is that?
Hate the update
by amirica14 on 2019/11/18 22:59
This update made steering and drifting terrible
Single player only.
by Jackal on 2019/11/18 22:16
For all that don’t know there is no multiplayer yet and you are always playing against the computer. Check out your settings screen and see how it says multiplayer inbound. And look how quick games load with players. And how the race completely ends the moment you finish. Cmon Nintendo!
Great game, Just wants $$$
by asshat11 on 2019/11/18 22:15
The game is really fun and crazy addictive to play however some things need to be addressed. For starters rubies are crazy expensive and not worth the value. Secondly if I’m a gold pass member why is their still daily exp limits and waiting for “cup construction”? If I want to grind out playing the game and making myself better I should be able to. If money is the objective charge $7.99/month and give better ruby rates and no limits. Most people would see the better value and gladly give you more money.
Best game ever played

The new update
by Amandapanda321😎😎😎 on 2019/11/18 22:03
I love this game so much, I play it all the time. I don’t use manual drift mainly because it’s not my style for the game. With the new update, it feels like the manual drift is always on. If that makes sense. I don’t like the new controls at all. Having to press a button to drift is incredibly annoying and it seems that you have to turn the opposite way then really intended to get a drift. I get the idea behind the update but I hate it. I hope this isn’t permanent because if it is I probably won’t be playing a lot

Glitchy and freezes all the time
by Dsimonds on 2019/11/18 21:35
The game glitches out and shuts down constantly and makes the game very frustrating . When this happens it takes away a bunch of earned points and makes it very hard to level up ! Legit it’s a fun game but deff needs a lot of work
Good but needs help
by Thedude2345 on 2019/11/18 21:06
As someone who paid $5 for a month of gold pass, it’s definitely worth it. But this game needs work. Some of these challenges are literally not possible unless you put hours into the game and get lucky. Please fix things like this. Also, shop needs to be more diversified. Not sure how to unlock things that are never in the shop. Oh, and if you want people to buy things with real money, don’t advertise 3 gems for 5 bucks. That’s ridiculous. Please be realistic, and add that into the game. I still like the game, it’s fun, I like the maps and different tours.

Love game but it’s hard to earn rubies
by Lillian 💎 on 2019/11/18 19:13
I love this game, but I wish it could be easier to earn rubies, especially through completing challenges. For example, theres a challenge to “get first place 300 times” and the prize is only 3 rubies. The amount of time needed to complete that challenge simply isn’t worth it and it frustrates me when I use my hard-earned rubies only to get low-end items from the pipe. Please fix this :(
Honestly...
by Jenn New 19 on 2019/11/18 18:37
I loved the game when it first came out until recently. I tried playing today and it literally made me download it twice and still won’t work properly. It’s annoying so I uninstalled it.
Pipes is for sure a Scam!
by PSaltamontes90 on 2019/11/18 18:17

Used To Be Fun
by JasonAsher on 2019/11/18 17:22
This game used to be a lot of fun, but lately, it’s infuriating, and it’s gotten to the point I don’t want to play it anymore. For starters, I’m the kind of person who likes to achieve 5 stars before moving on. Well, the recent updates have made it absolutely impossible to get 5 stars on tracks unless you own the best stuff, which either takes some good luck, or actual cash; Nintendo did this on purpose to frustrate us into buying gems to buy the driver/cart/glider sets that will get us to 5 stars. No thank you, Nintendo; I see right through this scheme, and I’m not interested, especially because gems are EXPENSIVE, to an asinine degree. Add to this the annoying pop-ups when you first launch the game, the fact that you can no longer auto drift, and the fact that the game is just getting less appealing overall, and it makes me just hate the game as well as Nintendo.
Multiplayer

Amazing, but one thing
by Passpartout himself on 2019/11/18 13:11
I’ve had this game since launch, and I still love playing it today. There is however one bug that makes opening the app frustrating for me. Every time I open the game, it loads up around 12-16 percent and then stops. Then it tells me the game crashed and that I have to clear cache and download the data again. This takes a couple minutes, and I think I shouldn’t need to wait couple minutes almost every time I open this app. I just want it to be fixed soon.

Terrible choice to change the complete fundamentals of the game without even giving players an option to choose their preferred method.

Really fun app, but just a few things to be added
by WMcleaner256 on 2019/11/18 06:25
This is a really fun app and brings me back memories playing Mario Kart, but there is just a few things that you should guys add. The first thing you should put is a refresh button to refresh the items on the shop daily, since I been getting the same stuff on the shop instead of getting the high end stuff. Second, I was thinking that you should put rubies in the daily challenges so that it would be easier to get instead of challenges so that we can get it to shoot the pipes faster. Thank you for this awesome app though.
Disappointed in Nintendo
by JohnnyNorCal on 2019/11/18 05:52
Nintendo seems to be using mobile games as a way to wet your appetite with licensed games and characters but not deliver any kind of fun experience typical of a Nintendo game. I feel as though they really don’t care about their fans and customers and this game is only designed to make the shareholders happy. The game gets more difficult as you progress and it’s nearly impossible to compete unless you drop a lot of money. Even then you only have a “chance” to get what’s needed to proceed to a competitive level and achieve higher scores to get the stars you need to move on. Equally disappointing is the controls. No, just no. It’s not at all similar to a Mario Kart experience. It’s overly difficult and not very responsive. Completely revamp the controls and also allow controller support. Shame on Nintendo. Surprises you put your name on this stuff.
Grand stars
by Eza9136 on 2019/11/18 05:45
Let’s say I have to get 13 grand stars for the next cup to open. I get those stars and instead of the cup opening, I get a useless gift and a notice saying I have to get 13 more stars. I get those stars and then I have to wait 24 hours for cup construction and often times, when I leave the app for a few hours it restarts. Get 13 stars. Get gift. Get 13 more stars. Repeat. The gameplay is fun but not when you gotta do the same races over and over again to get the last star and finding out that you need 13 more and then having to wait.

Nope!
by tkukoc on 2019/11/18 04:58
1.2.0 update absolutely ruined this game. No longer can you drift automatically, now you have to push a drift button. But since drifting is overly exaggerated now you just plow into the wall. Don’t get me started on coin totals. Save up 3k to finally unlock a character you need, nope they take it away and make sure it doesn’t come back. Spend the coins and wow look there it comes back. Absolute scam to make you purchase items using real money. Nintendo is missing the point! Sell dlc packs, but this whole loot crate nonsense should be illegal! It’s skewed to make sure you spend money over and over. Do yourself a favor and delete this app before you get invested, it’s not worth it at all!

by Madie10000000 on 2019/11/18 04:28
Update: to get 4 and 5 stars on some of these levels is near impossible and what is up with having to wait hours or days to go to the next set of tracks?? Starting to like this game less and less. Love the game but not the perks. The pipe firing is basically a dud! It takes 5 rubies which are extremely hard to get and when you do fire it you have a little chance of getting character and major chances in getting duplicates of what you have. You can’t build your tool box up! Even if you purchase the rubies you have a slim chance of getting good items or the even getting a golden pipe! And the shopping options the cost of coins to get decent items is why too high! Basically to have any chances of getting good items and raise the levels of what you have is to pay for it. Be ready to spend money.
Fun but needs more...
by Ms.Correct on 2019/11/18 04:28
Very addictive but I feel like the daily set experience and coins you can gain is very low. Takes the fun out of leveling up all your characters. Also needs more levels to beat, I have beaten all of them and only have been playing for less than 3 days! Make more levels and ways to gain coins and experience, besides just buying them. And with that you cannot even gain coins to buy naturally with the *daily limit* always being in place! Unless you make more daily quests to complete? Like there should be a reset everyday of 4 or 5 quests at least to gain some more momentum & add to the building portion —if the creators Re going to keep the EXP and 300 coin daily intake that low. ONE OF THESE OPTIONS NEEDS TO CHANGE! Please consider this^ Thanks! :)

If you have the preferred items for a course you can place first without touching the phone. Items are significantly more important than skill, so the races feel pointless. I do like the levels that require you to hit all the items. I think those would be fun as a stand-alone game.

Now that Luigi is on the game I want to play it and get him. But the game is freezing up when I get in. I’m on an iPad mini 4 and I want to be able to play but I can’t.

I noticed last night when the timer ended for the daily items. The app didn’t refresh. I close the game and it still says the items are finished. Please fix.

Cash grab
by Nickname should be here on 2019/11/17 19:47
This game is nothing but a worthless cash grab. The gameplay is incredibly boring and pay to win. New characters can be won from a machine that gives you an extremely low chance of unlocking them and it costs four dollars just to use the machine once. If you want to get a character guaranteed, you can purchase one for FORTY DOLLARS. That’s completely insane! It costs forty dollars just to play as Mario in Mario kart tour. This game also has a membership that costs sixty dollars a year. That’s as much as Nintendo’s first party games on Nintendo Switch. The amount you have to spend for the full experience is something even an EA executive would frown upon. I hate this game and everything about it. If it wasn’t so pay to win, I would give it a pass, but this game is horrible. Don’t even waste your time playing it. All this game has done is showed me that even Nintendo can be a horrible company. I am never downloading another Nintendo mobile game again. I hope Nintendo never makes another mobile game again. This is sickening.

Enjoy the game not the crashes
by DonFelipe82 on 2019/11/17 18:59
Enjoy this game immensely. Using iOS 12.4.3 with iPad Air crashes at times. Seems like opposing players losing the race causing the game to crash. Still version 1 so we can’t complain. Can’t wait for multiplayer!
Decent
by mario kart is decent on 2019/11/17 18:48
So, I love this game don’t get me wrong, it’s just it gets really repetitive, and there’s an app problem. When ever I open the app, every time it says, “clear cache”. Now I’m not very patient, so when it does that, I clear the cache and play two or three games, I get out of the app, and reopen it, to see “clear cache” again. Again I’m not very patient so when I see it I log stop close the app, it does it every time and each time gets longer. The other thing is it’s so repetitive and it get boring, when you win each time. It’s not the apps fault, but it feels like your playing a bunch of bots, people, get better.

Why do I need a Nintendo account to play this game. And I do have a Nintendo Account but the game won’t let me play it. And the DLC cost more money then one month Nintendo Switch Online. Can the DLC be cheaper.can you fix this stuff please.

Please put more effort into making an awesome game that people are happy to pay for. it’s getting old already. I would happily pay for new awesome levels. I will not pay for rubies, and characters, and other digital nonsense. Not a chance. Nintendo needs less people in suits trying to make games profitable.

Love this game! My favorite part is how impossible it is to win unless you pay! I love how you have to have stars to move forward in the races. And if you don’t have enough stars....oh well! I love having to pay money A MONTH in order to do well. I love saving up 45 rubies so I can shoot a cannon and get all of the same characters and carts that I already had! It’s a great experience. Rest in “price” to all the parents who’s kids have their credit cards hooked up to their account and are having money drained from their accounts. I love it! I’m having fun! I love it! It’s great! I love it! Money!

Love the game! But...
by AlexandraReid on 2019/10/22 08:39
As much as I’m fully addicted to this game right now, I can’t help but feel like there’s more to be changed. I guess it’s not something that will get changed but the pipe firing. It frustrates me bc rubies aren’t all that easy to get (not to mention if you wanted to just buy some they’re crazy overpriced). And it’s 5 rubies per shot. But the problem I have is the prizes aren’t good? Like yeah you get a chance to win a special one but I’d say 9/10 I don’t get anything special. It might give me like 1 level ticket to a certain item but it’s usually something I don’t use/isn’t useful for any of the races in the tour. I just think your chances should be increased to get special characters/karts/gliders. ESPECIALLY when you need some of these characters to actually get all 5 stars on a race. It makes it virtually impossible to complete every race with 5 stars. I feel like Nintendo went straight for the money on this one. Most in-app purchases for apps of a similar caliber are way more affordable. If the rubies were more affordable, you’d actually make more money because more people would be inclined to buy them. And if you’re like me, you’ll spend $5 a bunch of times and end up giving way more money to the company than necessary. I just hate to waste rubies on a maybe. I guess that’s the gamble though. This was far too long anyways, but I just felt the need to voice my opinion on it.
I love this game but...
by Smoshgamesisawesome on 2019/11/03 04:31
Hello there, i downloaded this game when it first came out and found that it was an amazing game, however I have a few points for the developers. The first point is I know that as a company you need to make money but charging 2 bucks for 3 rubies it kind of ridiculous especially because we would be paying 5 a month for gold pass for your game. I would recommend that you could have an option to use your coins that you earned to purchase a few rubies and the more coins you have the more rubies you can purchase. My second point is that you need to come out with a online multiplayer so that everyone can play with there friends! I would love to be able to challenge my friends and see who can do the best instead of playing strangers all of the time, it needs to come soon instead of just “inbound”. I also would recommend that you add a few more maps for the weekly challenge because I know most of me and my friends outplay them in a day and it just leaves us to replay each map all week until the new ones are realized. I also think you should make it phone orientation directed, so that you can turn your phone side ways and race or have it vertical. Other than these few points of improvement this game is great, I love the tube aspect of how you receive your prizes and I just have always loved Mario cart.

When I first saw that nintendo was releasing Mario kart on mobile is the best news I’ve heard so far as in mobile games couldn’t get any better. Don’t get me wrong the gameplay of the game is really fun the best experience also with the main menu and the shop all those features are really nice for. Than when I come to find out I have to upgrade the karts and the gliders and characters It’s alright I don’t have a problem with it. On what I do is that it would be better if we where allowed to get a little more coins than we do same thing with the gems just feels like I’m not getting enough for the items in the shop. Another thing is I wish there weren’t that many limits to stuff and wish we could get a little more rewards in the game like items to upgrade and more coins, same with the gems. Just hope these things would happen in later updates oh and another thing that would make the game a little better don’t end up making the game be a “pay to win game” that would make the experience even better. Hopefully more characters are added in the game and karts, gliders, maps and the multiplayer hope it’s like the same experience like the Nintendo switch but besides that great game lots of fun something really new.!!!

by ssmvx on 2019/09/25 19:31
getting mario kart for mobile was a huge deal for me, as this was a game i played daily as a child. however, after playing it for a little bit i have found some things that i’m not very fond of. the first being the experience needed to level up your carts being limited on a daily basis. that disappointed me as i feel like i can’t level up and get better as quickly as i would like. also, the “gold pass” is another issue i had with the game. i wouldn’t of minded paying a one time fee, but $5 MONTHLY is a bit much for a game. i pay that amount for apple music, apple arcade, etc. another tiny issue i have are the controls, i feel like that could’ve been planned out better. i was expecting the game to be played sideways, but it’s played vertical which i found odd, but not a huge deal. finally, the multiplayer aspect of the game annoyed me. i thought multiplayer would’ve been available when i downloaded the game, but after downloading and doing some research i found out it won’t be available until saturday. in my opinion, i wouldn’t of released the game until saturday then. as i was looking forward to using that feature and now i have to wait longer to use it. i think everybody is overhyping this a bit too much, and while i’m glad nintendo brought mario kart to mobile, i just think there are some aspects of the game that aren’t great which really brings the gameplay experience down. i hope future updates will improve the quality of the game.
Decent 1st Version, Definitely Still Needs Work
by GameTommy on 2019/10/06 04:51
The initial released version of the game is decent, but there are several issues that make the game only 3 or 4 out of 5 stars. First, there is no way to allow you to decide if you want to steer regularly or to turn by drifting other than choosing Settings WHILE THE RACE IS STILL GOING and change the setting for manual steering and hope nothing happens while you do that. Second, when making very small changes in direction to straighten myself out I’ve frequently accidentally used items. Both of these issues could be resolved by changing the touch controls. I’d suggest having holding your finger on the screen should allow regular turning while a tap near the kart will allow drifting, and also having a tap away from the kart to use items. A third (minor) issue is not being able to slow down. I’ve had several cases where a Blue Shell is closing in when I’m barely in 1st and my only option to get in 2nd is to do a hard turn into a wall so the other kart gets hit instead. Good things about the game is the very low cellular data usage when no Wi-Fi is available, the ability to auto use current items when you go through an item box so you get new items, and the great courses. I look forward to seeing the issues fixed so there will be nothing bad holding the game back.
A couple changes could really improve game play
by Jmo666 on 2019/09/26 23:06
From start up app is completely user friendly, easy to navigate as well as get started even if you don’t have a Nintendo profile. Once in the game it looks amazing, all the great memories of childhood come flooding back and you are reunited with your inner child. My only complaint is game play, as it is streamless and easy to use I feel it is lacking in both immersion as well as accuracy. Immersion, I feel playing the game in wide screen and giving the player a true left and right as well as throttle and break controls, or keep auto throttle and move weapon usage and drift on buttons, could even set it up for double tap in the direction of the turn to initiated drift or put turning on joystick but swiping left and right. Swiping left and right seems to have the vehicle constantly needing a direction input due to a lack of getting back on center too slowly or something of that nature. Game play, I feel if the above is changed it will completely improve game play and bring competitiveness forefront as well as the want to continue to play and advance through the game. Just my two pennies. Those are the only reasons I give the game 4 out of 5. Everything else in the game is amazing but those areas are lacking, playing on wide screen and a change to driving controls would be highly encouraged.
Rant
by 674239 on 2019/10/19 21:23
Game doesn’t want you to win and even if you get first place, the game will base you off of your performance. This game will do anything in its power to help make the “other real players” win. Why quote on quote? Well because in the tour mode you are not actually playing with real player, they are just computer players generated with real player names and load outs. As I was playing this game I noticed something that was very annoying, I would click the button that allows me to view behind me and when I would let go, it would change my controls from Manuel drift to standard driving. Also, in a race when I was right next to a computer player, I was focused in on trying to get ahead of this computer BUT the computer player just TELEPORTS? Ahead of me? Haha wow if that’s how this game is going to be, I am better of playing a Mario kart game that is actually fair. Two more things, the prices and the gold pass. The prices to purchase rubies are just wow. You mean to tell me that I have to pay two dollars for 3 rubies, not even enough for a ONE SHOT PIPE. Now the Gold pass. Seriously? I have to pay 5 dollars A MONTH for: 200cc and bonus awards and display badges? And that’s basically it, 200 cc which will probably have the computer players act impossible to beat with the way they are programmed unless you have the top load out for the race, the bonus awards aren’t too bad but golden display badges? Really? They don’t even look that good.
Fun and addicting, but some sketchy moves by Nintendo
by Masuel9 on 2019/09/27 14:16
Few things I found wrong here after playing for awhile. The number of different maps is limited, as each cup just makes a random combination choosing from a selection of maybe 10-12 of them. Secondly, just the option to pay for a “gold pass” (5$ monthly) is annoying to me. I hate in game subscriptions that just make you better than other players, it takes the fun out of the grind. Plus, limiting the amount you can level up riders, carts, and gliders in one day makes it seem like a clear money grab as the game forces you to pay for extra coins, gems, gold pass, etc. lastly, the obvious attempt at deceiving the players making it seem like they’re playing online when in reality it’s bots with creative names is a bit sketchy. I’ve seen tons of reviewers on the App Store alone actually believing that they are playing against real players when they enter a cup. This is a big deal because once you find out everything is just computer AI, it gets repetitive and boring fast. I really enjoy the way they condensed the game-play to fit into the quick style of phone games, I appreciate the grind aspect even if it seems to be cornering me into paying, and I hope the multiplayer that comes out on Saturday can redeem the other poor qualities of Mario Kart Tour. For now though, 3/5 is about the most you can give it.
New York Minute Map Rant
by Kkkkkkaaaaaddddeee on 2019/10/01 06:09
The game is very fun, however I do find coin grinding to be a bit repetitive, only earning 50 gold per match. Also, New York is probably my least favorite map, making it very difficult for me to reach 5 stars, even though I play 150 cc every race or event I do. I don't have a driver that has more than 1 items slot,(there being only 4, all of which are above common[diddy kong, Bowser, Pauline, Mario with a suit])Before, I had a problem on this map in The Bowser cup, in which I grinded from level 4 to 12 on that map alone, taking me 3 days to eventually have rng side in my favor(I didn’t have the kart for x2-3 points, so being first on lap1 and 2, and reaching 1800 bonus points from random stuff to reach the 4,600 points I needed.) Overall, I am in a situation where 5 grand stars are half based on rng, hoping I get items instead of Mushrooms, and not getting hit AT ALL by other racers. I’ve got the drifting down, holding green shells and bananas for extra protection against red shells, and riding into other racers if they are riding me. Now its diddy kong cup, near situation except the goal is 5300 instead of 4600. And the characters this time are: Pauline, diddy kong, donkey kong, and mario with a suit. I have the highest tier cart for the level(x2 points) and a middle tier glider. However, I’m stuck with toad to chug through the race.
Amazing initial release
by Plexiuss on 2019/09/27 22:37
I have very high hopes for the game; though as I’ve seen the general amount of complaints and see them being mostly unfair. Many people complain about it playing vertical- but it’s honestly more accessible and something you can just quickly play with it being vertical- though it would be nice to see an option to flip your screen before the race, that’s no reason to completely disregard the game. Gameplay can be somewhat simplistic, but it’s fun and accessible to everyone: hardcore Mario kart fans and casual players alike, WHILE maintaining a competitive aspect and holding a skill gap as well. I’m looking forward to seeing multiplayer being released very soon, as in the menu there’s a button labeled “multiplayer” that says it’ll be added soon. Overall, this game is definitely worth your download, especially for a free app on your phone. Even though there’s a gold pass (which includes a two week free trial and is 5$/month) it doesn’t offer anything that would consider it pay2win, but supports Nintendo and also gives the player small benefits. Don’t go in expecting something like Mario kart from the switch translated straight to your phone, but it really feels at its core like a Mario kart game.
MARIO CART TOUR
by KBM SORA on 2019/09/26 16:33
This game is really fun their only a few things that need to be looked at. The first thing is this game crashes some time u expect stuff like that because it’s new and every one is trying to play so when that’s fixed that would help so we wouldn’t have to start over a race. My secound thing is the controls could be way better if they put two arrows so u can steer theirs a lot of understeer when u play this game u drift way to much or don’t turn right on sharp corners that would honestly make this game way better and more fun to race with this controls. My third thing is their are micro trans actions so if u want the best characters u do have to buy the gold pass to me it does make a huge difference it gives u things free to play players won’t have or get because it’s exclusive to the gold pass for $5.99 I mean I know their trying to get money but this isn’t the way to get it. The point of games it to earn ur stuff not buy ur way to it so if u we’re planning to get platinum Mario u can’t unless u get the gold pass sorry guys. Their also is an online mode coming in future updates I hope it’s real player real time. I want to be able to send my friends invites so we can play together in our own lobby we create not with otheir people make it 2 separate online modes pvp and friend pvp. That’s all
Has the potential to be waaaaay better
by ShawnaeN on 2019/09/25 11:41
I understand Nintendo wanted to go for the whole “play with one hand” type of thing but the game could be sooooo much better. For one I like the Wii version of mario kart a thousand times better...if its possible to create a controller for the wii on regular smart phones so that I can still play my Wii that would be nice so keep that into consideration. Anothee thing WHY IS THERE NO WIRELESS MULTIPLAYER!???!!!! I want to compete against my friends not against the computer and against some random players, thats what made mario kart, mario kart. You could play by yourself or compete against friends when needed. In reality I was being nice by giving it three stars, its not a bad game but it really could be better, the app really wont last long if you dont get the multiplayer option and then can the controls not be soooo simple because a landscape option for the phone would be ideal so that we can be in control of our speeds and even have a mobile device tilting option to steer because right now everything feels like its been figured out for us and takes away the players control over the game which is not the authetic mario kart because we chose our speed and we chose how to steer and we chose how to use items and this mobile app takes all of that away. Please please please please do better because we all know that you can.

by Natałie:) on 2019/10/12 14:58
I’ve always loved MARIO cart so I want to make a few suggestions for this game. First you should add more of the old tracks like the raid now one railroad one the like snow one the penguin one all those good ones along with new ones as well. Also you should add that game on the wii where you have a team and you try to pop as many balloons as possible. Also you should add more games that you can play with friends as well. All I’m saying is if you add all the stuff you could possibly add to this game it will be literally the perfect game ever. Hopefully you read this and hopefully my suggestions were helpful! I feel that stuff you add to the app you should keep on it bc making the old tours go away is kinda stupid to me bc now you can’t do those races again and i like all the courses and I think you should just keep them on there and add things to it. I think you should make a button for the different tours so you don’t have to take them off the game. I also want to say if you were to make a game that was so much fun on the wii you should make it better than the old one not worse and I feel it’s not as good as the wii one. You should also add the motorcycles like the wii
Good looks, bad controls, and absurd micro transactions
by Glaglaglabblllllllah on 2019/10/03 04:05
Mario kart tour is an interesting game. It is a mobile version of Mario kart with beautiful looking graphics and similar gameplay to that of the console games. Despite this, the game has a ton of problems. The controls of the game feel inaccurate. For example, if you use drift mode, you can’t turn, if you don’t use drift mode, you go too slow since you can’t drift, and using gyro controls is extremely imprecise. In addition to the game feeling subpar, the game has many other problems. The biggest problem of all is the absurd micro transactions. Instead of unlocking characters through progression of the single player mode, you have to buy characters from the shop with Rubies, the premium currency of the game. These rubies don’t guarantee that you will have even get a character and the rubies are fairly difficult to get. On top of this, the price for the rubies if you choose to buy them is a bit crazy. For example, it costs $2 for 3 rubies, which isn’t even enough to gamble for a character. In addition to rubies, the game also has packs you can buy for upwards of $20 and a gold pass for $5 a month (more than Nintendo switch online) that unlocks 200cc and some cosmetics. Since the gameplay isn’t that great and the microtransactions are so intrusive that they ruin the experience, Mario Kart Tour is worth no more than 2 stars.
Needs improvement
by heyitzgenevieve on 2019/09/26 01:14
This game was super hyped up when it first got announced and I was excited to play it when it was originally supposed to come out over the summer. For a game that got delayed by several months, it definitely still has some issues and could use improvement. First of all, the controls are pretty horrible. In drift mode, you are practically forced to drift through the entire race because whenever you’re tapping on the screen you start to drift, which means you can’t go straight unless you’re not tapping the screen, making it extremely hard to control. On the other hand, in regular mode you can hardly make it around turns. I was excited to try out the gyro controls, only to find out that they’re even worse than the manual controls. The gyro mode is SUPER delayed and you have to turn your phone really far to get it to even move. The game as a whole is just really slow, especially when racing, which takes away the exhilarating factor of a racing game. I’m hope that they either fix the controls or just add an in-game circle pad altogether. Also, the graphics are great, but I’d assume that’s why the game is so slow, so hopefully that is sped up a bit in the future as well. As for now, the game isn’t all to entertaining considering its speed and serious lack of decent controls, but it’s Mario Kart mobile nonetheless so at least that’s a start.
Great game, but could be improved
by Vid lab customer on 2019/10/09 19:36
I enjoy the game greatly, it’s a fun way to kill time and the graphics are awesome to see on an iPhone and not on a Switch or Wii-U. The concept is fair and I enjoy the gameplay. However, there are some thing that should be changed in my opinion. For example, there is a daily limit on how much you can upgrade your items. And another one I would like to stress is that as you progress, each level gets increasingly difficult to rack up points, thus obtain more stars to unlock more cups. To me, that just doesn’t make sense. The average points received on a good game (considering you got 1st place, drifted, jump boosts, fought your way to 1st, etc.) you would probably get around 4 to maybe 6 thousand points. But in the later cups, 6 thousand points barely gets you three stars, while in the before cups, you’re easily getting five stars. I just don’t see how it’s possible to get ten thousand points in a single 2-lap race, when getting points is capped daily. So each item, and each character can’t be leveled to the full potential because of the max variety, and the daily caps. If these things were to be fixed or tweaked somehow, I would easily give this a five star rating. This is such a good, unique mobile game but these issues are just roadblocks for me and whoever else plays the game.
Game still broken even after bug fixes 🙄
by SHENANIGANS1356 on 2019/10/04 20:17
So I’m pretty annoyed rn. I really like this game and it’s super fun but when there’s a bug in a game that totally takes away the ability to play it, it’s annoying as hell. It’s even more annoying when there’s an update for the game that addresses the bug that your game has and somehow still doesn’t fix it. I have the bug where the game becomes unplayable after I start transitioning to the main game menu after loading up the game. I load it up and it turns black to transition but it just stays black and doesn’t do anything. It sucked when it first happened but I knew they’d eventually fix it so I waited. “Luckily” a day later an update for the game rolls out dealing with the problem so I immediately download it and load up the game again. To my disappointment however, the game still had the exact same bug. It did give me the option to clear my data cache to help restart the game and prevent the game from crashing again but that didn’t work. I even went and deleted the game and redownloaded it as a last resort and still, nothing changed. I’ve tried looking online to see if there’s anything else I could do and I didn’t find anything If any developers are reading this please fix this or let me know if this is possibly having to do with something on my side of things because I’m getting really annoyed. And if anyone else knows how to fix this please let me know
Pretty good game, but..
by Darrel C. on 2019/10/01 23:58
This game was exciting the least being able to play it on your phone. It’s pretty much the same basic game it was from me being a kid, but there’s a couple issues that I find very, VERY annoying. As it comes to skill, I’d say I’m pretty good at drifting but, as it turns out from my experience, attempting to turn in such a way can get the character to stay in a turning animation, which annoys the crap out of me, I look at the top left corner of my screen as my character is STILL stuck in the turning animation, reading the words “7th place”, you kidding me right? I was just in 1st..It only gets worse...I like being in first, you’d probably be too, it’s fun to get a challenge here and there, trying to keep your place in 1st, but..you get bumped behind from the person in 2nd, all of a sudden you’re here waiting for your character to move, and it’s just staying there??? Your suddenly NOT in 1st, no, you’re in 4th, now 6th, and now you’re in last, and wait? That was the last lap too?? Okay... I have to win now, no exceptions...yess I’m in first again, there’s no stopping me this time..finally the last lap, I got this one in the bag.. oh shoot, a shells about to hit me, my character isn’t moving again! It’s literally, taking, its time.. wait what happened?? I was just in first?? No wait..I’m in last, again.. and everyone has already crossed the finish line..
Great

I’ve seen a lot of rants on this, one saying it was made for bots to win. But playing the real Mario kart, it wasn’t made so you could win, it was made to be a fair, fun game. This game does just that, it’s fair and fun, it’s not super easy to win but it’s not all that difficult to win either. It really is fair and fun, just like the original game, and I adore that. For this being the first version, it’s great, I’ve had no bugs while playing the game, and it’s been super fun. Of course the characters are bots, but for bots they actually function very well. They aren’t buggy and glitching out which in a lot of games they do, so that’s great! I don’t understand all this controversy I see, it’s as if everyone takes this game like a true world racing tournament. You aren’t the Daytona 500, it’s a game where you have fun. Everyone that says it’s bad because it’s difficult, a good game shouldn’t be super easy, it should be hard and you should learn to play it. Also you can mess around in the settings to adjust it to your play style, which I like. I’m not much of a mobile gamer but this is fun and stays interesting, so I’ll be playing it for a good while. Keep up the good work.
Great Game

This is one of Nintendo’s best efforts on iOS. It’s a fun game and a lot of love went into making it. As other reviews have mentioned though, it’s hard to escape the feeling that it’s also a money grab. Despite your skill level, it’s impossible to collect 5 stars on the last races in each tour unless you have the right drivers, karts and gliders. Sometimes you’re lucky and you have these, but more often than not you don’t. It’s the same for the weekly ranking. I’ve worked hard to rank #1 among my opponents each week, but I don’t think I could’ve done it without having used the Gold Pass trial to get more rubies (and as luck would have it, the frenzy starting drivers). I’ve reached Tier 13 now, my trial has ended, and it seems the only way to rank #1 this time is to open up my wallet. What’s more, I just used 100 rubies in Halloween Pipe 1 (a roughly $50 value), and didn’t get any frenzy starting drivers, top karts or gliders for this week’s ranking! This is infuriating given the time I’ve invested in this game. Update: Per the weekly ranking, it seems easier to rank #1 without using the Gold Pass or having a frenzy stating driver for every race in the second Halloween Tour. I don’t know if Nintendo was listening, but I’m bumping up my rating in response.
Really Nintendo?
by ShadoWarrior29 on 2019/10/13 15:47
Don’t get me wrong with the title. I really enjoy this game. The controls are smooth (after getting used to them), the throwback tracks are super fun to play on, even the characters in the game are great picks (where’s waluigi and luigi tho?!). Anyways those aren’t why i gave this game 4 stars. The only reason i don’t enjoy this game as much is because there is no skill involved whatsoever. You can be great at past mario kart entry’s and beat every single cup on 150cc, mirror, 200cc, it really doesn’t matter the amount of skill you obtain when you start the game. The only thing that will get you a 1st place in this game is really really good RNG. Now, if you don’t know what RNG means, it stands for Random Number Generator. The gist of it is, (depending on what place you are in) you get a random item from the item boxes based on a random number picked by the game. When i said there is no skill involved, that’s not an understatement. The only thing that will win you races in this game is you depending on the games RNG to give you good items, and more importantly, you’re opponents getting bad items. Nintendo, if you are reading this, please in any way, shape, or form, PLEASE make this game not luck based and make it skill based in any way you possibly can. Over and out.
Great, but with a Glaring Problem
by Elkindle20 on 2019/09/25 22:49
I have uninstalled and reinstalled my game more than three times, and while I enjoyed a good while where my problem did not happen and I was racing joyously, the game has been continuously showing me a message at startup that I must update my game to continue playing. There are two buttons below this message. The first one, which says,”How to Update” takes me to what I’d assume would be an FAQ or tutorial if it didn’t display an error message in its place. The second, aptly named,”Check Store”, takes you to - you guessed it - the App Store. Here you would expect to find an update ready to be installed, however the button usually used as the update button only says,”open”, signaling that there is indeed no update available. My friends and colleagues have also confirmed that their copies of the game are working, leading me to continue to wonder why I cannot play a game I have been excited for since it’s announcement. I cannot stress enough how amazing this game is to play and how it is truly amazing to have this caliper of a title on my phone. However, this problem puts a damper on every aspect of the fun of this game, since I cannot even access the title screen. If this problem were to be fixed, my rating would no doubt raise to five stars, but as of right now my opinion and rating of this title sits at a lowly two out of five.
How???

I have been playing Mario kart since the wii (I’m 16) and I’m disappointed in the people playing around me, you can tell they don’t know what Mario kart is and this is there first go around that’s fine if it’s your first Mario kart what’s not fine it the devs making everything so in your face like the start boost timing they tell you what it is in Mario kart wii I had to find that crap out on my own also the drifting control setting is cancer the only way to turn normally is to move you whole phone this is ok in other racing games where you play on landscape but you have to play portrait (as of my understanding) and the game feels so heavy and floaty like a brick trying to figure skate that the one race I tired drift on I got 8th and found my self on multiple occasions having my phone at a 90 degree angle to the side I wanted to turn making follow up turns near impossible and smart steering while being a toggle should be on at all times to make the game even remotely fun or playable. Currently I am first on kuppa cup tier one my name is Jesus if you see me know I have problems with the game but will probably keep playing because despite my problems the game runs great and I am having fun playing. Also I have no idea how the hell I ranked so high on the kuppa cup.
Great game, but wait......
by Gunmanhammer on 2019/09/30 03:40
Great graphics, sounds, and gameplay during races (a couple tweaks to allow turning and drifting without using motion controls would be nice however). As of now this game is a cash grab (I’ll get to this later), with the only “online” feature is to compete for the highest score in the one ranked cup that is opened. In this game the score is calculated based on how well you place, what karts/characters/gliders you use on a level to level basis, tricks, and item use. Other than tricks and placement in races, everything is dependent on your collection of parts and characters which give you various buffs in race, which all happen to be locked behind a loot box system that is the entire progression system. If you want to unlock or level up your characters and parts you use the pipe each costing 5 rubies, which paid for costs $2 for 3 rubies (bonus thrown in for bulk). The other option is the gold pass, this costs $5 a month, giving you a few more awards and the fastest game mode, 200cc. If you do the math that’s triple Nintendo switch online for a year that now has a Mario kart game for free, and the same amount for the huge amount of games that come with Apple’s streaming service. If this game wasn’t pay to win, then it would get 5 stars, otherwise it’s stuck where it is.
Good, but needs improvement
by MilesTheGuy on 2019/09/27 22:08
I do enjoy this game quite a bit. I’d even go as far as to say this is my favorite mobile game. But there needs to be improvement. For 1, why are the races only two laps long when the tracks are already pretty short? Mario Kart has pretty much always had three lap races and I’m sure adding one extra lap would make this all the bit better. 2, how come we got three baby characters, 3 Mario’s, 2 Peaches, and 2 Bowsers, but not Waluigi, Rosalina, Wario, and (most importantly) LUIGI!? I know the series has already had this problem, and hey, instead of Pink Gold Peach and Baby Rosalina we got the return of Diddy Kong and Pauline making her first appearance in the series. But (instead of Waluigi being cut from Mario Kart 7) Nintendo has never taken out important characters like the ones I’ve mentioned and instead have more clones and Baby Characters. And 3, the one you’ve all been waiting for, the EA like micro transactions. You have to pay $5 per month for a membership. That’s more than a Nintendo Switch membership! However, this game is still kind of fun. The controls feel tight, the tracks are fun, and the game looks surprisingly good for mobile. It just had to be bogged down by the bad stuff. Overall, I like this game, it just needs improvements to make it better.
Don’t bother with the 1 star reviews
by Nutella Kid on 2019/09/28 21:01
Okay first of all, this is NOT A PAY TO WIN game. I repeat. This is NOT A PAY TO WIN game. The game DOES NOT ask you for any money nor do you need to spend anything to get further in the game. I actually respect Nintendo for making the micro-transactions pricey to discourage paying your way through the game. Those who are complaining haven’t even played for a couple days so their complaints about controls and how hard the game is shows the little effort they put in. Which isn’t much. So again no money is needed. Not even to make a Nintendo account, which only take like 5 minutes to make. So stop complaining about the small things. Second, the reason I gave it 4 stars instead 5 is because of the unplayable multiplayer. I have hope that the reason they are taking their time is because they are not just trying to make it against friends you add but other people around the world. I do have my worries though that the multiplayer will be asynchronous, meaning against AI but with multiplayer data. If that is so, then I’ll delete the game in a heartbeat because I’m tired of companies putting more thought into the money they want to make instead of making a quality multiplayer experience.
Mario Kart’s always fun, but this one’s the worst.
by Silicon FX on 2019/09/30 23:31
Why are all of Nintendo’s mobile games post-Super Mario Run so painful to play? You just want to play the game and have fun, but the game annoys you into wasting your money on what’s ultimately a garbage product. You just want to play as Mario, but you have to do this dumb gambling garbage that’s OUTLAWED IN CERTAIN COUNTRIES. Gee, I wonder why? You look at other games on the market and think “Sheesh, this game is not player friendly”, then you look at this game and wish you were playing something else instead. It’s the little things about this game that annoy me most, such as the way the music was sped up—done in such a way to which the pitch increases along with the speed, the horrendously high scores you need to get in order to get 5 stars in what’s ultimately a luck-based match, etc on top of etc. Online, TRUE online is the one thing that could’ve saved this game, and it’s coming, but why isn’t it just out now? Nintendo’s image isn’t looking too good. They were the good guys, the wholesome company. Now, the opposite is true. From the way they handled joycon drifting, to their mobile endeavors, this just isn’t right. It’s not the Nintendo I grew up with. This is EA levels of shady and detestable. If someone from Nintendo actual reads this message, GET SOME HELP. If any consumers are reading this, don’t waste your valuable time on this game. Play a legitimate Mario Kart, not this cheap knockoff.
Great game not executed well
by OhGab on 2019/11/09 00:42
I play this game EVERYDAY literally the only game that was respectable and honorable enough to be on my tablet and I'm dissapointed 😫. Nintendo had A GREAT MONEY Making game but idk if it's really making money lol why do I have to pay 2$ for 3 rubies #NotGoneHappen also after playing on the two week trial I was this close 👌🏽 to buying it until it said every month #NotGoneHappenAgain and I've never purchased ANYTHING in a game EVER... I say that to say this the prices are crackish and I'm sad because I love playing at 200cc!!! But playing at 200cc and having to go back to 150cc suuuuuuucks 😩 I was this close 👌🏽 to un-installing this game BUT I'm willing to give Nintendo a chance. I grew up on Mario Karts so I have high expectations for the 2019 version. Please put some respect on this game, give us an option to be able to play at 200cc when we reach a certain player level or have to purchase it with the rubies it takes a miracle to get, 5$ for 2 months gold pass, and please switch up the pipe prices because they are kind of crackish prizes too. Minor things! Oh and multilayer come on I thought this would have been on the game from the jump Fun Run even had that option. Hopefully this helps maybe it won't but hopefully something #Gonehappen. Signed, A Mario Kart addict 😁🤪
Off to an incredible start.
by J.Dia on 2019/09/26 02:43
Keeping in mind that it literally JUST came out and isn’t going to start off perfect, I think it’s off to a beautiful start. I have been waiting for Mario Kart to come out on IOS for a long time, and although some people have had their issues with it so far, I’m looking past simple things such as “the controls bother me” or “it should be in landscape rather than portrait” because those are simple things that can be fixed easily with a few updates as well as just getting used to the game being on a phone rather than a console. The overall game, however, with the characters, carts, coins, gliders, etc. is nothing short of a masterpiece and brings back a familiar wave of nostalgia not from the original Mario Kart on the Super Nintendo, but more so the Mario Kart on the Wii that I personally grew up with. So far (apart from the daily limitations on upgrades and points which I’m not necessarily a fan of) I am absolutely in love with everything about this game and am nothing short of excited to see the future of it, specifically in regards to the future multiplayer mode. To the creators: Thank you, and keep up the good work.
Lots of Fun, Only a few issues
by Osmodious1 on 2019/10/07 10:28
Gonna keep it short. This game is lots of fun. But the controls are a bit janky.. and I don’t think you need the gold pass to have fun.. I didn’t even know this was coming out and I saw all the videos ranting about it before I even played it. I figured I’d give it a try thinking Corporate Commander was sure to have his hands on this one but I found out that it’s not really like that. Yes, locking the 200 cc mode behind the gold pass is a bit much but I personally normally play on 150 cc so this doesn’t affect me much. Also, just from the daily log in bonuses, playing the ranked mode, and completing challenges I’ve gotten enough Rubies or whatever they’re called, to do plenty of summons in game and I may have just gotten lucky but I’ve gotten pretty good pulls just off of those. Another thing people complain about is them basically “charging money for Mario” but after just a few short days of playing a few minutes here and their, you know like, on the toilet, dosing off to bed, in the waiting room, I had enough in game currency to just buy Mario off of the store. Anyway, this wasn’t exactly a short review. But I enjoy the game. It just has a few problems it needs to Iron out.
Terrific game, just needs some tweaks
by Newfoundmass on 2019/10/02 01:36
The game is amazing, I've been playing a lot the past week. The graphics are terrific, the game plays very very smooth, it doesn't feel in any way pay-to-win, you have plenty of opportunities to level up, rank up, get new drivers and carts, and so on. Honestly if you spend money in game I'd say the 5$ monthly pass is the only way to do it. However I do have some tweaks that need to be addressed. First of all, how is there no landscape mode for this game? It seems wild to not have the ability to have wide screen here. And at 200cc speeds the game is going far too fast to now be able to have a full range of vision. Also, there should be a mode in which you can go off the edge of the track. Being unable to fall off feels accessible but cheap. Also, the 180 turn around is awful. Easily the most useless feature of the game. When you turn around the camera zooms in so close you can barely see anything behind you. Alms from my experience you tend to immediately go off course when using the 180, even if you aren't touching the screen. Other than the general "want more content" viewpoint (the game just came out so I can be patient) its a pretty fine game. Good job!
Hello Mario cart
by boy575 on 2019/11/10 08:35
I love this game tbh, I play everyday max my exp gain and my coin gain every time, but the game needs more you see my family plays too and they are getting bored because there’s not enough rewards to help them out. They are new and I want to help them but u guys just made it even harder for them with the all the tours needing to do 5000 points when they don’t even have anything to help them out. Plus for us loyal players we are getting the same rewards like the ultra rare character (or legendary character) was the same as the first tour really made me mad. I got gold for items that I don’t have, not for items that we all have... all I’m asking is for u guys to give us hope that something big is coming a light for me to keep playing this game because after two or three more tours I might stop playing and never look back because it seems that all the things everyone is saying is that all u guys just want money... please help me believe that, that’s not true. Help me believe that Nintendo wants loyal fans instead of money. For all the people that are thinking of playing I would say try it out this game is great but it will be hard for you to pick it up. And with that I say good luck.
Amazing but some nostalgia issues
by huneybea on 2019/09/27 18:14
I think the way the put it on mobile is absolutely amazing. However... some new characters and karts were added and that’s always fun. But there’s not as many secret passages, most players have auto steering on, and there’s not as many maps. Now hold on, so far I’ve passed 12 cups. With four levels per cup. So there’s 48 levels... but it’s the same few levels with slight variations. AND there’s no rainbow road yet. I would be more than happy if the producers decided to add a casual gameplay with some of the old maps from 3ds, wii, etc. Also multiplayer isn’t out yet. Which is a big bummer. I am still curious as to when that’s going to be added. “Future update” but doesn’t say when. It’s still a fun game nonetheless. It’s just way different compared to classic Mario kart. You need to unlock characters, karts, gliders, and maps. Which is okay but it takes too long to get those things and the game becomes boring after you can’t unlock anything more for the day. Now this is without me paying extra for rubies or coins. I’m sure if you purchased those things your time would be more fun for a short while.
They pulled it off
by DopeHomie on 2019/09/25 11:30
Only Nintendo could find a way to make a vertical, touch screen kart racer fun, challenging and intuitive. I’ve played every console iteration since SNES Mario Kart, and this finds a way to play true to the rest of the series. While it took a minute to pick up on and adapt to the new controls, I quickly got back in the familiar rhythm and flow that fans know so well. If your experienced with the console games like myself, do yourself a favor and turn on “gyro controls” right away in settings. It makes all the difference in the world, especially if you are using drift mode. I had to figure this out through frustrations on minor turns, and difficulty aiming for coins. As far as price point for in app purchases, they seem a bit steep from what I’ve seen so far, $20 racer packs, high rupee cost (the currency to unlock racers) and the $5 monthly subscription service which only gives you the opportunity to win rare gold items, as well as 200cc mode. However in Nintendo’s defense, the game is perfectly playable without any IAPs. It really feels like Nintendo put the time and development into this that it deserves.
The steering is horrible
by Collin WM on 2019/09/26 03:55
To start the game looks stunning and from the limited time I have played it seems to run fine on my 8plus however as soon as I hoped on the game and started to race I could instantly tell the steering mechanics were awful. There were numerous times when I would be pulling my thumb to right just to have my character not respond. I’m not sure if it’s a game issue or if I’m doing something wrong but the controls are not intuitive what so ever. Even after I turned on the tilt controls I still had trouble orienting my character the right way. The controls almost seem as if they were purposely made bad for some reason. I think they might be better if there was a button you could press with your other thumb to drift instead of the game just doing it automatically as it causes you to lose control consistently. Also I’m a bit lost as to why they decided to put the game in portrait mode instead of landscape, the choice just seems odd to me as I think that having the game in landscape would allow for much more such as an actually steering wheel, brakes and gas which would be a nice addition. Over I see there is potential in the game I’m just dumbfounded that this is the control scheme they decided to go with. Overall the game could be great they just need to fix the steering.
Mario kart tour has many problems
by Vincentw12345 on 2019/10/11 21:02
I’ll start simple. Paywalls, this game is not just an app, it’s a filthy cash grab that blocks every necessity behind a paywall. Sure you can play the game for free but as a Nintendo fan my whole life I don’t think this is what they SHOULD be doing. I’m all for calling out a company when they really need and now is definitely a good time too. The only reason this game is popular now is because everyone has a phone and no one wants to waste money on a system just to play Mariokart on it. Online play isn’t even online play, it just randomly generates names and puts you up against them. And I love the Mario franchise and would love to see it expanded even more than it is now, but this game didn’t do that for me. Also, Luigi isn’t playable yet(this might be outdated in a couple updates but I still wanted to mention it)? The starting roster has FOUR Marios, it has three peaches and two bowsers, six characters that could’ve been used on Luigi or any other character that hasn’t had a Mariokart debut yet. And finally, I want to mention that giving Nintendo support on this game is giving them reason to make more of these games where everything is blocked via paywalls and that is not how I would expect Nintendo to do things with a Mariokart game on the phone, though dr Mario did the same exact thing and Mario run was average. So Mario kart tour was a disappointment.
Strange nuances of a complete game
by Oman531 on 2019/09/27 04:59
I remember buying the original Mario Kart for the wii when it came out over a decade ago. It was my favorite game for several years and still ranks in my top ten to this day. Unfortunately, this game makes me feel like I’m playing a pirated version of that one. I understand that the mobile experience will never be the same, but the mechanics of the game, as well as the currency system, make it much less enjoyable than it could be. The major problem I have is that the point system is disproportionately luck based, whether it’s RNG determining whether you get hit with 5 shells in a row or not, or it’s the collection system that doesn’t give you the item and point advantage that you essentially need to get 5 stars, unless you buy more gems to have more options, of course. I could see how this game is designed to encourage the player to come back to previous cups after collecting more characters, but that seems pointless. The collection system and ruby micro-transactions borderline pay to win gameplay. The races themselves create the odd illusion that you’re playing against real people by assigning random usernames to AIs. Overall, the game is fun, but doesn’t reward the player for skill nearly as much as it should, which makes it frustrating and sometimes not worth it to play.
Disappointing
by AnubisElite on 2019/10/10 14:55
I will say that the game can be really fun. The graphics are nice, though they are a serious drain on my battery. And it has all the fun aspects of Mario Kart. Except, of course, for the multiplayer aspect. None of the people you race are your friends or others online. So it’s always just AI that you are up against. Not as fun. The biggest drawback is, your scores don’t reflect your actual performance so much as the unit, car and glider you use. The problem with this is, it’s all reliant upon a gatcha system. Between the NY and the beginning of the Tokyo tours I think I have done 5 of the multi summons. In those summons I have only received one high end driver, and to my extreme disappointment it was a copy of the Metal Mario I got as a reward from the two week free subscription. So not only are e drop rates awful, there’s nothing to help elevate your chances of getting a unit or car or glider that you want. Which brings me to the subscription. Nintendo wants us to pay $5 every month, the same as an Apple Arcade price, just for this one game? I don’t think so. I got the two week free part for the rewards and then cancelled it. That’s the other thing, if you want the best rewards from the races you need this subscription. This is an awful cash grab with no way to actually enjoy it with your friends, the way Mario Kart is supposed to be. I expected more from Nintendo.
Few Key Features Missing
by Avise22 on 2019/10/17 20:11
Overall this is a great game and I enjoy playing it. I look forward to new cups and tours and enjoy the challenges that come with them. That being said, I still think there are two key features this app is missing: 1) Why is there no storage/ inventory to view all the items I currently have? If I want to see how many item boxes I have, I need to start a race. If I want to see how many quick tickets I have, I need to click on a cup under construction (which isn’t possible if you have all of them unlocked). An inventory or storage tab would be a simple fix to this problem. 2) (FIXED) Why are the badges earned from the first tour no longer available to use for display? Unless you kept a badge from a preceding tour as your displayed badge, you no longer have access to them. This is really unfortunate as I really liked a badge from the first tour that I simply don’t have access to anymore even though I earned it by completing the challenge. This could also be fixed by possibly putting it in the inventory/ storage tab. Or even making a “Badges” tab where players can scroll through all the Badges they’ve earned and build their collection.
The people you play against are disguised as real players. Disappointed.
by Jenuvial on 2019/09/26 15:20
The fact that they really made the AI look like real people is stupid. At least let us know we are going against bots and name them by the character name instead of fooling people into believing they are having real races with real people. If the game was already online I would be more proud of the game but so far I am not. I personally like the Rubies and the Gold because it is a mobile game and people need something to strive for in game, but for kids this is NOT a good game to be playing. But still, on the other hand, I love Mario Cart and I have been playing since I was a baby, so I am definitely still going to play it. Everything in the game is as it should be, there are levels from all different versions of the game and even some updated versions of older levels. The game looks beautiful and its is easy to learn. What I hope to see in the future is a wide screen mode, different controls to where you can use a joy stick, or to be able to touch the screen on different sides to go left and right and then continue to slide the screen to drift, which would be easier than the controls now. They are weird at first but when u get used to it, its pretty fun.
Amazing but ruined
by charles42396 on 2019/10/22 23:53
Such a great game and once you get used to the controls is actually tons of fun. The way the cups are set up to it’s like you never beat it, it just keeps adding levels for you. And so many characters carts and gliders to collect. But here’s where it got ruined; micro transactions. I understand in today’s day and age we need mtx or the games can’t continue and won’t make their money. But there’s a difference between pay to play and pay to win. In the beginning you get 5 stars on everything regardless of your gear. Then it gets harder but with the gear you roll you should have a decent chance on each track for 5 stars. Then it gets harder. Currently I’m at the point where I can get first in every race but only get 2 stars. Basically I’m at a point where I can move on to the next cup because I don’t have enough stars but I got FIRST in EVERY race.. so I’m at a point where I’m either forced to buy better gear for more bonus points to get more stars or just not play the game/continuously redo races I already won just for giggles. You can do challenges for rubies and stars but I’ve done most of them already. They truly did well on this game but just ruined it. I can’t even watch adds for stars or rubies? like come on give us an option to move on besides paying you money.. I’m stuck and can’t continue without $$$
Great game but needs some improvements
by Hlywood33 on 2019/09/30 19:40
Ok so don’t get me wrong, I love this game. When I heard that Nintendo was releasing Mario kart to mobile devices I was stoked! So let’s get into the issues. First off, the multiplayer aspect. I was honestly looking forward to multiplayer when I got the game. But I was surprised that it wasn’t released yet since the game was delayed a bit ago. I would like to think that multiplayer would be released by now but it isn’t. Another thing is the fact that we have to wait a certain amount of time for tours to be unlocked. I just find that kinda annoying because as of right now I can’t play any new tours because the next tour has two days until it’s accessible to be played. I understand that you guys are doing your best but I mean the game was delayed by a few months and in that time stamp I would think at least multiplayer would be released. I just hope that it’s released soon. Other than the current issues I love the game. This really brings a new aspect to mobile games and I look forward to the near future of this game. And maybe you guys could look into releasing some other Nintendo related games. Hope this review gets a reply.
A truly fun game
by Hillgrovelb45 on 2019/09/26 02:34
For a day one experience I personally do enjoy the game as it is at the moment. For my 6s, the game runs smoothly and I encounter very little to no lag while playing. The gameplay is a unique blend of the Mario Kart formula with a spin on it. The spin is the customizable karts and characters being locked by a pay wall. Now this would be a major problem if the majorly effected gameplay but at this current time it can make getting stars a bit easier. How it works is certain characters, karts, and gliders give certain boosts to your game. I have made it past the daisy cup and have collected all stars, meaning it is possible and not super challenging to obtain these stars. The “battle pass” is an ok addition which gives some extra content. For five dollars a month it is the only reasonable piece of in app purchase. However the gems are STUPID expensive. When you have to pay roughly 25 dollars for a multi you will not run into pay to win players at all due to these steep prices. My overall experience with this game has been a blast and I personally can’t wait for further updates in the game and it is definitely worth your time because the entry fee to the game is FREE!
Nostalgia to an Extent
by Anonymoist on 2019/09/26 00:25
I love the fact they made Mario Kart for iOS. However, there is no online multiplayer (yet). They claim to be adding online multiplayer racing in a later version but that’s what I initially thought I was downloading. Don’t get me wrong, I love the game, but they better introduce that soon to keep the game alive. With how the “storyline” goes, it makes you stop naturally progressing and wait for “tracks to be built.” Kind of annoying so far but that’s kinda my point with the online multiplayer aspect. You won’t need to stall players from beating the game in 4 hours with online multiplayer activities, games, and tournaments. The microtransactions hopefully will stay under control. They’re equalized by being able to earn the purchaseable content through ranking up. As soon as that changes, this game will plummet. But that’s everything I can find wrong with this game at the moment. This game is a flash back to the past and is just as amazing. Just like every game starting out, it’s gonna have some bugs and the devs are gonna need to see reviews from its player-base, but this game has potential to be something amazing for this next generation to enjoy just as much as mine did!!
Game crashes instead of giving rewards and customer service calls you a liar
by Mobleyyyyyyyy on 2019/10/28 06:06
Now on my third issue where the game has crashed on completion of a task causing the reward to not be given was rudely told by customer service that i was pretty much lying about 3 rubies when i told them i had screenshots of proof that it wasnt awarded they told me they went through my game data and was able to see the completion and the reward given and when i counted all awarded rubies and those spent already the variant was 3 rubies meaning i was never awarded them. Customer service again didnt care when i completed a race given me the flatten three racers in a single race where they completely ignored me after i said they should do as they claimed before and check my game data on my phone to see and i found my customer service link downed for exactly 24hrs after with no response i asked then to cancel my paid subscription if they choose to not respond and be so rude to me over 3rubies then against over 2stars which is literally such small amounts if not the smallest amount compared to their transactions to fix fix my issue wouldve cost them $1.99 when i pay $5 a month so they decided that i wasnt worth fixing the issue and now im on a third issue where im not even gonna try and get it fixed ive cancels paid subscription and deleted game
Fun but many problems
by Deadpool123654 on 2019/09/30 15:09
Gold pass costs to much money for little to no value. The only thing you’re getting is 200cc, bonus challenges and items but it quickly runs out if you play daily and finish everything fast. The limit towards how many points you can get from races to upgrade your cars and characters is ridiculous. Just don’t have that, why is it there in the first place? It finishes in no more than 10 races which can be finished in less that 15 minutes. That’s terribly low and boring. You play afterwards for no reward and have nothing to look forward to other than try to 5 star all the races. Some of them are either extremely easy or extremely difficult. You need to have legendary characters and karts to get all the stars but that’s impossible to begin with because the chances of you unlocking one of those characters or items are so low. Let alone they need to have a bunch of points to even come close to 4 stars. But how can you do that with a low point limit? Overall it’s a very fun game but this decisions make the game extremely boring in a one hour play time. If these things were removed or fixed for the better, this game would easily be 5 stars
Great but stingy with gems and coins
by Kattie P. on 2019/10/15 01:22
I really enjoy this game and it brings back so many memories from my childhood. However it really irks me that there a limit on EXP and coins daily. If I spend more time on the game, shouldn’t I be able to advance more quickly? That’s not even the reason I’m writing this review. The main problem is how stingy they are with the gems and the prices of the gems. I’ve spent a lot of money on games that have gems and summoning just like this (like brave frontier or the tokyo ghoul game), but it’s because it’s reasonably priced and doesn’t make me feel like it’s a waste of money.. of course I’m going to keep playing this daily because I do love the game so I just hope they make it more reasonable. Majority of the players are like me, college students who are broke, who can barely survive as it is. Nintendo, if you’re reading this, I promise you’ll make a lot more money if you lower the prices even just a little!! Other than that this game is addicting, has great graphics and keeps it interesting with their creative summons (I love Kimono Princess Peach)!! Download this game if you love yourself!!
pretty good but needs some improvements
by Tomshehu09 on 2019/10/19 13:41
Overall i feel that this is a really good starting point for the game but could use some quality of life improvements per say. First of the controls, now the current variety of controls is fine and all but one new control could change everything for this game and really get a new player base; horizontal tilt controls. Sort of like how the original mario kart had on the old wii with the steering wheel but now instead of the buttons for gas or for using an item you could have the gas on one side of the screen as just a press(or swipe up and down for reverse and forwards) and then have the other side swipe up and down for which way the item is thrown. This change will most likely bring in a lot of old players who wish for that nostalgic feel and new players who want to try out this new controls. It honestly it a far better steering system than what you have now. Other than the steering controls i feel the game is a pretty good and can’t wait for multiplayer! (it better be free or this rating is dropping very far down: or at least a small one time fee like 0.99 cents)
My New Favorite Game!
by SuperKawaii133 on 2019/09/27 19:37
Hello! I love this game so much; after only a day of playing, it’s my new favorite game EVER! I always play Mario Kart on my switch and Wii U, but now I can play it on my phone whenever and wherever! I just have 2 suggestions that I would LOVE to have in the game in future updates: 1. I love all the current characters in the game, but I would love if you could add Rosalina and/or Luma as one of them. I would always play as Rosalina on the Wii U, and I would love if she could be added later on. Luma would also be an amazing character in the game as well! 2. I love this game already, but sometimes it’s very difficult to steer, especially on 150cc and above. If possible, I would love if there were more steering options to make steering easier. One options I thought of are a little steering wheel in the bottom right (or left) corner. Please do not feel rushed to add these into the game. These are just some minor suggestions that I feel would make the game even better than it already is! Thank you for reading this review, and I hope you have an amazing day after reading this. 💕

Love Love Love this game and have loved this always😏🧡
by VAISPAI on 2019/11/19 08:55
No complaints.

Don’t be D’s Nintendo, (I love this company)
by Juancx13 on 2019/11/19 01:52
cmon y the F is there a paywall can yoU guys do what animal Crossing is doing, it would be better off in the long run.

I hope this isn’t permanent because if it is I probably won’t be playing a lot

by Dsimonds on 2019/11/18 21:35
The game glitches out and shuts down constantly and makes the game very frustrating .

Add to this the annoying pop-ups when you first launch the game, the fact that you can no longer auto drift, and the fact that the game is just getting less appealing overall, and it makes me just hate the game as well as Nintendo.

by Passpartout himself on 2019/11/18 13:11
I’ve had this game since launch, and I still love playing it today.

I really enjoy this game but at times when I’m in first place, I get real weak goodies from the boxes. Mostly when I am in 6th or last place I get the good stuff. Can it all be the same throughout. Great game though.

Change the controls back !!!
by •Platinum Reviews on 2019/11/18 10:08
I loved this game played every day since release. This newest update ruined the game. How are you supposed to control the driver now with two hands and 8 fingers???

Cash grab
by Nickname should be here on 2019/11/17 19:47
This game is nothing but a worthless cash grab.

I love it! It’s great! by AlexandraReid on 2019/10/22 08:39
As much as I’m fully addicted to this game right now, I can’t help but feel like there’s more to be changed.

Great
by Bonkabeane on 2019/10/21 11:58
I’ve seen a lot of rants on this, one saying it was made for bots to win.
Great Game
by appnyellow on 2019/11/04 01:08
This is one of Nintendo’s best efforts on iOS.
