Dad is flying over seas via this airline. We go to sign him up via the website. When it came to the part of the application to select a password, there were no prompts or guidance. Every attempt at trying to type a password failed because when you’d go to type it would backspace. Turns out the password is a number only option. But because there is no prompt or note to tell you, it leaves the user thinking that there’s something wrong with the site. In addition when attempting to do this process from a desktop browser, the browsers password manager attempts to insert a password as any new and up to date browser does. If the developer of this site would have done their job, the browser would have taken the necessary steps to ensure this wouldn’t happen. Finally after figuring all this out and the account was created, we went to add his flight. Even after attempting to do this, his flight doesn’t show up under “my flights.” There’s a lot to fix here.
6 Digit Numeric Passwords only?

You signup on their webpage, enter your desired password which CAN be alphanumeric. Then try signing back in to your Miles&Smiles account on this App. You can only enter Numeric Digits. Also why multiple options for User ID; Email, Account#, Phone# or Airline ID#??? But, you can’t have but one 6 digit password. By the way, you cannot recover and reset your password either. They email you a link to guess what? Back to your sign-in page where you can’t sign-in because you must have only a 6 digit password which they don’t tell you at signup or restrict you from creating a password you cannot later use. What a joke. If you really need online access you must call their live people or go talk to them about your problem with their account passwords. You guys need to hire someone with some expertise who can really make this idea work for you. Otherwise I’m going elsewhere.

I spent an hour figuring out how to pay with Apple wallet as I didn’t have access to the physical card at the moment. It states here that Wallet is supported but in reality there’s no such option at the checkout 😠

This site is so buggy, you never know what’s going to happen, from denying your login to allowing the same login 10 minutes later. The worst part is 90% of their error messages have no content. Just “error message” so you have no idea what is wrong.

You should investigate on error handling! Better messages, exclamations, etc. For an example when my ticket is issued from an 3rd party service, i am not available to select seat or make changes on my booking... And there is no information/warning about it.

They have no respect for the passengers, they will over book and cancel anyone with no reason or warning. My flight was delayed, I still arrived 2 hours early for departure on time, but the manager lied and said I had to be 4 hours early for international flight and that I had missed my flight. ( despite their website saying do not come more than 2 hours early for international flight) The story goes on and on and on and the details gets worse and worse. Complaining to their website and headquarters didn’t do anything. My request kept getting pushed back or ignored like they never received it. It’s been 2 years. I WILL..... NEVER FLY TURKISH AIRLINES EVER!! I rather take a boat for 30 hours then fly with them.

The app is pretty useless and the website is not any better. I try to check in online for a flight but it keeps asking me to update my profile first. When I try to update my address in the profile and enter Washington state, where I live, a drop down list is populated among which to choose the city name from and Seattle is not even in the list! There are tiny little towns or even cities that may or may not be in WA state but the largest city of WA, i.e., Seattle is missing. One wonders what kind of database they pull their information from. The planes in your fleet (Boeing) are manufactured in Washington state and you don’t even have the largest city in WA listed! It’s also not possible to type in the city name manually so if it’s not in the drop down list, you’re out of luck and can’t update your profile (this is same regardless of you use the app or website). The app will still let you go through the check in process sometimes without having to update the profile info (hit and miss) but then will error out after entering in all the information. Sometimes you’ll have to complete check-in in the website (if it works) but that also fails most of the time. Even when it says the check-in was completed, it won’t let you download the mobile boarding pass. It’ll just wait and hang without even giving an error. They need to hire some serious/professional app and web developers and user experience team to write both the app and website from scratch. At their current state, one wonders whether these were developed by some THY manager’s teenage kid.

Developers working on this app are probably novices. Worst app experience, ground staff and customer desk is oblivious to what can go or is going wrong with the app. I paid for prime category flight and changed my flight via this horrible app which gave all confirmations and even a refund due to airfare difference ( which I still did not receive). If I had an alternative would not even come close to this airline.

Initial versions were clunky. I fly very very frequently, I used the app several hundred times so I am now used to it and know how to get around its quirks and make the best out of it. But yes, generic out of context error messages are very annoying (when you try to create a boarding pass, etc) and sometimes you need to enter the same data multiple times, some data you cannot enter and certain areas just exhibit bad software development. However overall the app is moving in the right direction. And by and large does it for me.

I lost a very important business for distributions and sales representative services, lost cost around 20K because Turkish Airlines just cancelled my flight, the Turkish Airlines flight number 1029 in April the 30th. from US to Bulgaria. After 5 hours spent in the phone calling several times for help we notice that some technical problem was facing T.A. However NO body at Turkish Airlines did care for us and just transferred my calls to different departments but no any real help. My wife and me were forced by the circumstances to accept a new traveling date but we lose 20K and the business anyway. Also we arranged for transportation to the Airport already for the original day and we lost that money too. We had to stay at hotel and spent money until finally get a flight. No body told me sorry for the inconvenience, or ways to be reimbursed or compensated. A rep from Turkish Airlines told me “no sense to claim back for it because Turkish Airlines will give you NO any compensation” to you not anyone. I understand now that there is a normal practice NOT to take care customers. Sorry but you are at your own when doing business with Turkish Airlines. not recommended this airline for you or anyone that look for serious and formal service. Your money in not valuable, not worth at TA. I will not recommend this company nor use anymore.

I agree with other reviews stating that the app interface looks nice, but the app is not useful, and Turkish Airlines’ customer service is deplorable. Basic functions like checking in and selecting seats are extremely difficult or impossible to arrange. If you call customer service, it is very difficult to reach an actual person, especially outside of the US. When we tried to use the app to check in for our international flights, we received a notice from TA that there was a problem and we needed to contact the TA “call center.” TA provided no information about how to reach the call center, and we couldn’t find any on the website. After several expensive international cell phone calls to random TA numbers, we couldn’t reach a person. We had to get to the airport extra early (as did everyone else on our flight who had the same problem) to make sure we were still booked on our flight. Then, on the flight, the flight attendants disappeared for many hours, never offering water or taking away trash. All around, a disappointing experience on TA. They need to improve their game considerably to be competitive.

First of all, this application is much better than previous version, but still impossible to add flights purchased through external agent, impossible to add flights to apple wallet, when I add flight using booking reference, the system can not associate it to my membership number or contact information and can not save it in application. Another thing is upgrade - I can not find upgrade future in the app. In general I do not like comparisons, but Lufthansa group or United apps are much useful in regards of flight details and customer options. Please, take a look at it and update the app accordingly. I also agree with majority of TK customers regarding awful ground stuff Also, I would like to mention TK behavior related to seat selection and WiFi service - Do you know how much profit you have from TK*G customers? Why can not you make seat selection and WIFI free for them? UA upgrades all their *G and upper tier members automatically to premium economy. Ok, TK abolished comfort class, there are some other perks you can motivate your customers with. Being good in the air is not enough any more, do not you think so? Anyway, wish my favorite TK all the best and hope sometimes your app will be best as well as your other services like IST TK lounge Best,

Turkish Airlines has proven to have the worst airline service in the entire world. Not only are the online check in portals and apps dysfunctional, but the issues I have had trying to do simple things like choosing seats are unending. Now the airline has moved my flight from Barcelona to Istanbul forward by 11 hours - a flight I booked five months in advance. The change causes me to miss my connection to Los Angeles by over 6 hours! These flights were all booked together as a single reservation. The fact that Turkish would move my flight forward without consideration of its impact on my missing my connection is unspeakable. I will never, ever book flights with this airline again. They have proven to be a nightmare through every segment of the purchase, check in, and costumer experience.

Once the passenger states that they are from a country, that should come up as the default for where they live, etc, without having to scroll through 192 countries. Also, if the flight is from one country to another, those two could appear in the list as first choices. The site is good but could be excellent with a bit of UX tuning.

Much improvement on previous versions but still has a few quirks and bugs. Doesn’t let me manage my booking without entering my ticket number. Each time I enter the app or navigate within and return to manage my booking. Quite frustrating. Need to enter it once and it should save for future use. Love the fact you can book rewards flights (although a couple of minor bugs) and love that you can request special assistance from the app. A little clunky on the navigation but an overall improvement on the main web site and what was on before.

TK customer service is so bad. My flight was canceled due to problem in the plane. When i tried to get the refund it was nightmare No one was knowing what to do. Starting from TK staff in my departure city, TK main office in Istanbul and TK phone customer service and TK Kuwait office. Now they have to email Istanbul office with my case to find a solution. Not sure why they have a manager in this office since he is not empowered to take decisions. One more thing, TK main phone no in Kuwait, no one picks up the phone. So we have to drive for the office

Flying a few times already with Turkish, the app refuses to generate mobile boarding passes. It just says “Due to operational reasons” or “Your flight is not suitable for mobile boarding pass”. How’s a flight to JFK or to Istanbul itself not suitable? Tried everything, through the website, got a new phone even, nothing. And good luck speaking to anyone at Turkish. The Facebook group chat just told me to get the paper pass at the airport and that’s it. Also the app refuses to remember that I have an upcoming flight. I have to manually input the reservation number each time I want to check my flight or when I have to check in, it never says I have upcoming flights. It’s a joke.

In flight, Turkish Air is fantastic. On the ground, not so hot. First example; check in in Houston, Tx IAH March 3, 2019. Business Class, the rudest person, female, handling the highest paying customers. She asked me if I was going to buy a visa on arrival. I looked at her and said I don’t need a visa for UAE, at that moment she became a jerk. I wasn’t treating her like she was stupid, I just pointed out a fact. I then Gave her my United Airlines Card and he said when I asked, “yes I applied your number”. For almost a month now I’ve been dealing with your incompetent 24 hour help personnel to get credit for the flight. In all it’s just not worth it. I may not like Emirates or Qatar Airlines as much but I don’t get a hassle from them.

For one more time, after all the updates, even though I booked my ticket on the corporate website, the app doesn’t issue the boarding pass. Even when I checked in and received my boarding pass via the website, the app will not show it and it asks me to check in again. After trying to check in again via the app in hope that I will get the birding pass on my Apple wallet, the app shows a message that due to operational reasons I have to visit the check in kiosk at the airport in order to get my boarding pass... What is the point of having an app when it doesn’t do the basic? You are better off using the website.

Dad is flying over seas via this airline. We go to sign him up via the website. When it came to the part of the application to select a password, there were no prompts or guidance. Every attempt at trying to type a password failed because when you’d go to type it would backspace. Turns out the password is a number only option. But because there is no prompt or note to tell you, it leaves the user thinking that there’s something wrong with the site. In addition when attempting to do this process from a desktop browser, the browsers password manager attempts to insert a password as any new and up to date browser does. If the developer of this site would have done their job, the browser would have taken the necessary steps to ensure this wouldn’t happen. Finally after figuring all this out and the account was created, we went to add his flight. Even after attempting to do this, his flight doesn’t show up under “my flights.” There’s a lot to fix here.

Turkish Airlines is TERRIBLE. We have had the worst experience with them!! They cost me time, money and wasted my precious vacation time. Customer service is TERRIBLE! Staff is TERRIBLE and the fact that you have to submit and e mail or “feedback” and wait days for a response that doesn’t even answer questions is INSANE. Forget talking to a manager or anyone competent who can solve a problem. We had the worst experience and asked to be bumped up a class only on the way home only to be denied after “investigation” although all of their investigation was incorrect. I would never fly this airline again in my life and I will tell everyone I know to do the same.
Clunky and confusing

The app looks nice but the user experience is bad. It doesn’t follow the native swipe to go back iOS experience, when you check-in for a trip and want to go see that trip again you have to always provide your PNR and surname, when you use “My Trips” feature, it’s the same; the trip doesn’t persist and if you click done or navigate away you have to do it all over again. It didn’t allow me to create a boarding pass, and gave no reason as to why I can’t create one.

Bought ticket through Expedia and could only pull up travel information through ticket number. Would not retain ticketing information so had to enter it for myself and my husband every time. When it came to check in for flight, I would scan our passports and it would say information saved yet I could not continue the check in process via my phone. Had to handle all check in through airport. Ugh!

I flew with Turkish airlines last summer for the first time in my life. Over all it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! Amazing crew! Delicious food! Spectacular service! The cleanliness of the aircraft! Super clean bathroom! There was a hand lotion! - THANK YOU! and a flower in the bathroom! Did I mention how clean it was! I can’t stress that enough! DELTA, watch and learn! The crew was super attentive and on top of everything - with a pleasant smile on their faces! Did I mention the goody bag they give out that has a toothbrush, toothpaste, earplugs, sleeping shades, SOCKS and SLEEPERS (I’m still shocked)! I can go on and on but I need to go to sleep because I’m flying TURKISH AIRLINES again tomorrow! 😁 I wish one day I get to experience their first class flight! 1000 BRAVOS!!!

I’m a Chinese citizen residing in Finland traveling to Istanbul from Helsinki. When I try to check in online, I uploaded all the documents yet I still can’t be issued a boarding pass. This is indeed what I expect since the staff needs to check my visa and my EU Residence Permit and whatnot. But I just hope that the app could tell users what’s wrong or why you can’t be issued a boarding pass, instead of when you click on the “Boarding Pass” button, nothing happens.
Not respecting passengers

I have used Turkish Airlines few times . There cabin crew and boarding staff are not respecting passengers . They show to have quality service but in reality they are immoral and pay zero attention to customers . I have experienced this myself and also recently I saw a published video on social media that shows how badly a customer treated by boarding staff . He even starts to beat the customer . In addition, recently this airline is supporting military incursion and assault while many civilians got killed by the Turkish government during this process . Therefore, I have decided to not use their service anymore.

For price and quality Turkish airlines is the best. I have traveled extensively over the past decades and I have found only one airline that provides first class attention, service and courtesy to all passengers. It is my go to airline. I have great confidence in its safety and administrative excellence. I am thrilled that they now offer a direct non-stop flight from Washington, DC to Istanbul. Their VIP lounges are pretty neat as well.
6 Digit Numeric Passwords only?

You signup on their webpage, enter your desired password which CAN be alphanumeric. Then try signing back in to your Miles&Smiles account on this App. You can only enter Numeric Digits. Also why multiple options for User ID; Email, Account#, Phone# or Airline ID#??? But, you can’t have but one 6 digit password. By the way, you cannot recover and reset your password either. They email you a link to guess what? Back to your sign-in page where you can’t sign-in because you must have only a 6 digit password which they don’t tell you at signup or restrict you from creating a password you cannot later use. What a joke. If you really need online access you must call their live people or go talk to them about your problem with their account passwords. You guys need to hire someone with some expertise who can really make this idea work for you. Otherwise I’m going elsewhere.

I really had great experience every time I fly with TK. My issue is with their application. Aren’t we rating here the application ?if so everything is wrong with the application. Just horrible, doesn’t function, doesn’t able to see if there is 2 seats available without giving all your PII. And wola ! You passed all steps no way you can sit with your wife! Check in not even need to talk about it. Their flight service is always good not great but good. Application, they need to make it more user friendly and stop collecting everything click on it.

This application saves time significantly, if you compare it with the previous option, which was a phone call and you had to wait at least 20 minutes and conversation took at least the same amount of time. I’m glad I downloaded it.

I have been flying frequently with summer with Turkish Airlines . It has been systematically terrible experience , bad service , poor management , incompetent staff, constantly problems with online services , problems with payment , delays . By all means I am trying to avoid now Turkish airlines as it has become so bad including when I fly business class. What on earth happened to you ? Has the company been sold to another owner or what ? How could he become so bad after being one of the best?

I have been trying to check my parents in using the app so that they can use their smart phones for the boarding pass. Turkish Airlines, take your time and review the apps offered by other major airlines and see how to do it RIGHT. We had to head to the good old kiosk for the paper copies. If you claim to be the best airline in Europe, pay attention to these details !!! I will say the look and feel is very good.

I have to type in my PNR number every time I open this app even after selecting the option to remember my itinerary locally. When I opened the app today to check in, the app was forced to update and I was hopeful but to my disappointment it didn’t work and I had type in the information again. In the age of digital this is very disappointing from a major airline.
Awkward app

The check in process is not great if you booked the flight with a third party vendor. You have to enter the long e-ticket number twice instead of the shorterTurkish Air reservation number. Also seemed to find a glitch. Initially couldn’t check in because one passenger had a “ special needs” designation and a few hours later this message disappeared and we were able to check in.

If I buy tickets from 3rd party, is there another app that I should use as this one doesn’t allow adding flights? 3. I’m trying to add companions but it’s not allowing me to add saying I should first delete at least one companion before I can add another. Developers working on this app are probably novices. Worst app experience, ground staff and customer desk is oblivious to what can go or is going wrong with the app. I paid for prime category flight and changed my flight via this horrible app which gave all confirmations and even a refund due to airfare difference ( which I still did not receive). If I had an alternative would not even come close to this airline.

The mobile app is quite easy to use and can handle most transactions from purchasing tickets, upgrades, changes etc. However it does crash frequently which can get frustrating after going thru all the “filling in all the passenger” details.

I have a flight with Turkish Airlines. The app does not recognize it . I paid in advance for seats only to NOT have them when I went online (by computer) to check in!!! In addition you have to go to the airport to get your boarding pass. After getting the boarding pass the app still doesn’t show me on the flight and I can’t track my bags!!!!!!!!!! I’m use to the Delta app which constantly sends me alerts in addition to the location of my bags!!!!

Tried to check in for myself and my wife. It only allowed me to check in for the IST to NUE flight, not my complete journey. Also, after I checked in and sent myself my boarding pass, I had to start the whole process over for my wife. Allow my to process both without starting over.
One of the worst customer service

TK ground customer service don’t care about customers al all. I was left next to the gate of my flight waiting for shuttle to take me to the plane and the customer service disappeared and closed the gate while I’m waiting next to the gate for the shuttle. I confronted them, even asked them to look at video of the incidence, emails back and forth... absolutely nothing , they could not care less and didn’t refund me anything or even found me replacement flights. I had to rebook everything on my own and paid 900 usd for that. Worst of all I was flying business class and I’m a gold star alliance member. With Turkish airline, always hope everything goes well because if it doesn’t no one at all will try to fix!!
Baggage delayed

On our way to Nairobi from San Francisco, our baggage’s were not loaded on the Istanbul to Nairobi flight. We are in a group of 12 people. Only 1 person got the luggage. Some one at Nairobi airport said that Turkish airline does it often prioritizing high paying commercial cargo. We had so much trouble without our in our safari trip. We finally got our luggage after 3days. It would be very hard to select Turkish Airline in the future travels which we do often
App does not display flights booked online

After I type in my PRN number I can access reservation; however, it won’t let me select seats or save the reservation under my flights. They have no respect for the passengers, they will over book and cancel anyone with no reason or warning. My flight was delayed, I still arrived 2 hours early for departure on time, but the manager lied and said I had to be 4 hours early for international flight and that I had missed my flight. ( despite their website saying do not come more than 2 hours early for international flight) The story goes on and on and on and the details gets worse and worse. Complaining to their website and headquarters didn’t do anything. My request kept getting pushed back or ignored like they never received it. It’s been 2 years. I WILL..... NEVER FLY TURKISH AIRLINES EVER!! I rather take a boat for 30 hours then fly with them.

Every transaction seems to have challenges - whether it’s confirming a selected seat and then it disappearing during checking in online, to finding out whether there is an upgrade possible for my young sister, nothing is simple, just complicated. I can’t seem to ever use my United Airlines MP miles to upgrade, on my last trip or this one, so I was forced to pay. Shame.

You should investigate on error handling! Better messages, exclamations, etc. For an example when my ticket is issued from an 3rd party service, i am not available to select seat or make changes on my booking... And there is no information/warning about it.

They have no respect for the passengers, they will over book and cancel anyone with no reason or warning. My flight was delayed, I still arrived 2 hours early for departure on time, but the manager lied and said I had to be 4 hours early for international flight and that I had missed my flight. ( despite their website saying do not come more than 2 hours early for international flight) The story goes on and on and on and the details gets worse and worse. Complaining to their website and headquarters didn’t do anything. My request kept getting pushed back or ignored like they never received it. It’s been 2 years. I WILL..... NEVER FLY TURKISH AIRLINES EVER!! I rather take a boat for 30 hours then fly with them.

The app is pretty useless and the website is not any better. I try to check in online for a flight but it keeps asking me to update my profile first. When I try to update my address in the profile and enter Washington state, where I live, a drop down list is populated among which to choose the city name from and Seattle is not even in the list! There are tiny little towns or even cities that may or may not be in WA state but the largest city of WA, i.e., Seattle is missing. One wonders what kind of database they pull their information from. The planes in your fleet (Boeing) are manufactured in Washington state and you don’t even have the largest city in WA listed! It’s also not possible to type in the city name manually so if it’s not in the drop down list, you’re out of luck and can’t update your profile (this is same regardless of you use the app or website). The app will still let you go through the check in process sometimes without having to update the profile info (hit and miss) but then will error out after entering in all the information. Sometimes you’ll have to complete check-in in the website (if it works) but that also fails most of the time. Even when it says the check-in was completed, it won’t let you download the mobile boarding pass. It’ll just wait and hang without even giving an error. They need to hire some serious/professional app and web developers and user experience team to write both the app and website from scratch. At their current state, one wonders whether these were developed by some THY manager’s teenage kid.

Developers working on this app are probably novices. Worst app experience, ground staff and customer desk is oblivious to what can go or is going wrong with the app. I paid for prime category flight and changed my flight via this horrible app which gave all confirmations and even a refund due to airfare difference ( which I still did not receive). If I had an alternative would not even come close to this airline.

Initial versions were clunky. I fly very very frequently, I used the app several hundred times so I am now used to it and know how to get around its quirks and make the best out of it. But yes, generic out of context error messages are very annoying (when you try to create a boarding pass, etc) and sometimes you need to enter the same data multiple times, some data you cannot enter and certain areas just exhibit bad software development. However overall the app is moving in the right direction. And by and large does it for me.

I lost a very important business for distributions and sales representative services, lost cost around 20K because Turkish Airlines just cancelled my flight, the Turkish Airlines flight number 1029 in April the 30th. from US to Bulgaria. After 5 hours spent in the phone calling several times for help we notice that some technical problem was facing T.A. However NO body at Turkish Airlines did care for us and just transferred my calls to different departments but no any real help. My wife and me were forced by the circumstances to accept a new traveling date but we lose 20K and the business anyway. Also we arranged for transportation to the Airport already for the original day and we lost that money too. We had to stay at hotel and spent money until finally get a flight. No body told me sorry for the inconvenience, or ways to be reimbursed or compensated. A rep from Turkish Airlines told me “no sense to claim back for it because Turkish Airlines will give you NO any compensation” to you not anyone. I understand now that there is a normal practice NOT to take care customers. Sorry but you are at your own when doing business with Turkish Airlines. not recommended this airline for you or anyone that look for serious and formal service. Your money in not valuable, not worth at TA. I will not recommend this company nor use anymore.

I agree with other reviews stating that the app interface looks nice, but the app is not useful, and Turkish Airlines’ customer service is deplorable. Basic functions like checking in and selecting seats are extremely difficult or impossible to arrange. If you call customer service, it is very difficult to reach an actual person, especially outside of the US. When we tried to use the app to check in for our international flights, we received a notice from TA that there was a problem and we needed to contact the TA “call center.” TA provided no information about how to reach the call center, and we couldn’t find any on the website. After several expensive international cell phone calls to random TA numbers, we couldn’t reach a person. We had to get to the airport extra early (as did everyone else on our flight who had the same problem) to make sure we were still booked on our flight. Then, on the flight, the flight attendants disappeared for many hours, never offering water or taking away trash. All around, a disappointing experience on TA. They need to improve their game considerably to be competitive.

First of all, this application is much better than previous version, but still impossible to add flights purchased through external agent, impossible to add flights to apple wallet, when I add flight using booking reference, the system can not associate it to my membership number or contact information and can not save it in application. Another thing is upgrade - I can not find upgrade future in the app. In general I do not like comparisons, but Lufthansa group or United apps are much useful in regards of flight details and customer options. Please, take a look at it and update the app accordingly. I also agree with majority of TK customers regarding awful ground stuff Also, I would like to mention TK behavior related to seat selection and WiFi service - Do you know how much profit you have from TK*G customers? Why can not you make seat selection and WIFI free for them? UA upgrades all their *G and upper tier members automatically to premium economy. Ok, TK abolished comfort class, there are some other perks you can motivate your customers with. Being good in the air is not enough any more, do not you think so? Anyway, wish my favorite TK all the best and hope sometimes your app will be best as well as your other services like IST TK lounge Best,

Turkish Airlines has proven to have the worst airline service in the entire world. Not only are the online check in portals and apps dysfunctional, but the issues I have had trying to do simple things like choosing seats are unending. Now the airline has moved my flight from Barcelona to Istanbul forward by 11 hours - a flight I booked five months in advance. The change causes me to miss my connection to Los Angeles by over 6 hours! These flights were all booked together as a single reservation. The fact that Turkish would move my flight forward without consideration of its impact on my missing my connection is unspeakable. I will never, ever book flights with this airline again. They have proven to be a nightmare through every segment of the purchase, check in, and costumer experience.

Once the passenger states that they are from a country, that should come up as the default for where they live, etc, without having to scroll through 192 countries. Also, if the flight is from one country to another, those two could appear in the list as first choices. The site is good but could be excellent with a bit of UX tuning.

Much improvement on previous versions but still has a few quirks and bugs. Doesn’t let me manage my booking without entering my ticket number. Each time I enter the app or navigate within and return to manage my booking. Quite frustrating. Need to enter it once and it should save for future use. Love the fact you can book rewards flights (although a couple of minor bugs) and love that you can request special assistance from the app. A little clunky on the navigation but an overall improvement on the main web site and what was on before.

TK customer service is so bad. My flight was canceled due to problem in the plane. When i tried to get the refund it was nightmare No one was knowing what to do. Starting from TK staff in my departure city, TK main office in Istanbul and TK phone customer service and TK Kuwait office. Now they have to email Istanbul office with my case to find a solution. Not sure why they have a manager in this office since he is not empowered to take decisions. One more thing, TK main phone no in Kuwait, no one picks up the phone. So we have to drive for the office

Flying a few times already with Turkish, the app refuses to generate mobile boarding passes. It just says “Due to operational reasons” or “Your flight is not suitable for mobile boarding pass”. How’s a flight to JFK or to Istanbul itself not suitable? Tried everything, through the website, got a new phone even, nothing. And good luck speaking to anyone at Turkish. The Facebook group chat just told me to get the paper pass at the airport and that’s it. Also the app refuses to remember that I have an upcoming flight. I have to manually input the reservation number each time I want to check my flight or when I have to check in, it never says I have upcoming flights. It’s a joke.

In flight, Turkish Air is fantastic. On the ground, not so hot. First example; check in in Houston, Tx IAH March 3, 2019. Business Class, the rudest person, female, handling the highest paying customers. She asked me if I was going to buy a visa on arrival. I looked at her and said I don’t need a visa for UAE, at that moment she became a jerk. I wasn’t treating her like she was stupid, I just pointed out a fact. I then Gave her my United Airlines Card and he said when I asked, “yes I applied your number”. For almost a month now I’ve been dealing with your incompetent 24 hour help personnel to get credit for the flight. In all it’s just not worth it. I may not like Emirates or Qatar Airlines as much but I don’t get a hassle from them.

For one more time, after all the updates, even though I booked my ticket on the corporate website, the app doesn’t issue the boarding pass. Even when I checked in and received my boarding pass via the website, the app will not show it and it asks me to check in again. After trying to check in again via the app in hope that I will get the birding pass on my Apple wallet, the app shows a message that due to operational reasons I have to visit the check in kiosk at the airport in order to get my boarding pass... What is the point of having an app when it doesn’t do the basic? You are better off using the website.

Dad is flying over seas via this airline. We go to sign him up via the website. When it came to the part of the application to select a password, there were no prompts or guidance. Every attempt at trying to type a password failed because when you’d go to type it would backspace. Turns out the password is a number only option. But because there is no prompt or note to tell you, it leaves the user thinking that there’s something wrong with the site. In addition when attempting to do this process from a desktop browser, the browsers password manager attempts to insert a password as any new and up to date browser does. If the developer of this site would have done their job, the browser would have taken the necessary steps to ensure this wouldn’t happen. Finally after figuring all this out and the account was created, we went to add his flight. Even after attempting to do this, his flight doesn’t show up under “my flights.” There’s a lot to fix here.

Turkish Airlines is TERRIBLE. We have had the worst experience with them!! They cost me time, money and wasted my precious vacation time. Customer service is TERRIBLE! Staff is TERRIBLE and the fact that you have to submit and e mail or “feedback” and wait days for a response that doesn’t even answer questions is INSANE. Forget talking to a manager or anyone competent who can solve a problem. We had the worst experience and asked to be bumped up a class only on the way home only to be denied after “investigation” although all of their investigation was incorrect. I would never fly this airline again in my life and I will tell everyone I know to do the same.

The app looks nice but the user experience is bad. It doesn’t follow the native swipe to go back iOS experience, when you check-in for a trip and want to go see that trip again you have to always provide your PNR and surname, when you use “My Trips” feature, it’s the same; the trip doesn’t persist and if you click done or navigate away you have to do it all over again. It didn’t allow me to create a boarding pass, and gave no reason as to why I can’t create one.

Bought ticket through Expedia and could only pull up travel information through ticket number. Would not retain ticketing information so had to enter it for myself and my husband every time. I flew with Turkish airlines last summer for the first time in my life. Over all it was one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had! Amazing crew! Delicious food! Spectacular service! The cleanliness of the aircraft! Super clean bathroom! There was a hand lotion! - THANK YOU! and a flower in the bathroom! Did I mention how clean it was! I can’t stress that enough! DELTA, watch and learn! The crew was super attentive and on top of everything - with a pleasant smile on their faces! Did I mention the goody bag they give out that has a toothbrush, toothpaste, earplugs, sleeping shades, SOCKS and SLEEPERS (I’m still shocked)! I can go on and on but I need to go to sleep because I’m flying TURKISH AIRLINES again tomorrow! 😁 I wish one day I get to experience their first class flight! 1000 BRAVOS!!!

I’m a Chinese citizen residing in Finland traveling to Istanbul from Helsinki. When I try to check in online, I uploaded all the documents yet I still can’t be issued a boarding pass. This is indeed what I expect since the staff needs to check my visa and my EU Residence Permit and whatnot. But I just hope that the app could tell users what’s wrong or why you can’t be issued a boarding pass, instead of when you click on the “Boarding Pass” button, nothing happens.

I have used Turkish Airlines few times . There cabin crew and boarding staff are not respecting passengers . They show to have quality service but in reality they are immoral and pay zero attention to customers . I have experienced this myself and also recently I saw a published video on social media that shows how badly a customer treated by boarding staff . He even starts to beat the customer . In addition, recently this airline is supporting military incursion and assault while many civilians got killed by the Turkish government during this process . Therefore, I have decided to not use their service anymore.

For price and quality Turkish airlines is the best. I have traveled extensively over the past decades and I have found only one airline that provides first class attention, service and courtesy to all passengers. It is my go to airline. I have great confidence in its safety and administrative excellence. I am thrilled that they now offer a direct non-stop flight from Washington, DC to Istanbul. Their VIP lounges are pretty neat as well.
6 Digit Numeric Passwords only?

You signup on their webpage, enter your desired password which CAN be alphanumeric. Then try signing back in to your Miles&Smiles account on this App. You can only enter Numeric Digits. Also why multiple options for User ID; Email, Account#, Phone# or Airline ID#??? But, you can’t have but one 6 digit password. By the way, you cannot recover and reset your password either. They email you a link to guess what? Back to your sign-in page where you can’t sign-in because you must have only a 6 digit password which they don’t tell you at signup or restrict you from creating a password you cannot later use. What a joke. If you really need online access you must call their live people or go talk to them about your problem with their account passwords. You guys need to hire someone with some expertise who can really make this idea work for you. Otherwise I’m going elsewhere.

I really had great experience every time I fly with TK. My issue is with their application. Aren’t we rating here the application ?if so everything is wrong with the application. Just horrible, doesn’t function, doesn’t able to see if there is 2 seats available without giving all your PII. And wola ! You passed all steps no way you can sit with your wife! Check in not even need to talk about it. Their flight service is always good not great but good. Application, they need to make it more user friendly and stop collecting everything click on it.

By all means I am trying to avoid now Turkish airlines as it has become so bad including when I fly business class. What on earth happened to you ? Has the company been sold to another owner or what ? How could he become so bad after being one of the best?

Hi, the application is very user friendly just it is not very smart! As never remembers the flight that has been purchased by others from some where or some place else and also can not be added to my flights lists!

Sometimes only shows the booking done through the App , the web booking not only shows. The App is easy to used and become faster since the last update. It’s nice to check miles and smiles status directly.
Online Check-In is a disaster

I have been trying to check my parents in using the app so that they can use their smart phones for the boarding pass. Turkish Airlines, take your time and review the apps offered by other major airlines and see how to do it RIGHT. We had to head to the good old kiosk for the paper copies. If you claim to be the best airline in Europe, pay attention to these details !!! I will say the look and feel is very good.
One of the worst airline apps experience

I have to type in my PNR number every time I open this app even after selecting the option to remember my itinerary locally. When I opened the app today to check in, the app was forced to update and I was hopeful but to my disappointment it didn’t work and I had type in the information again. In the age of digital this is very disappointing from a major airline.
Awkward app

The check in process is not great if you booked the flight with a third party vendor. You have to enter the long e-ticket number twice instead of the shorterTurkish Air reservation number. Also seemed to find a glitch. Initially couldn’t check in because one passenger had a “ special needs” designation and a few hours later this message disappeared and we were able to check in.
Basic functionality seems missing!!!

1. Why do I need to enter E-Ticket number again and again to check flight status etc? 2. If I buy tickets from 3rd party, is there another app that I should use as this one doesn’t allow adding flights? 3. I’m trying to add companions but it’s not allowing me to add saying I should first delete at least one companion before I can add another. (how can I delete while it’s not allowing me to add? and to add, I need to delete one? chicken or egg, I’m confused)

The amiunt has been taken from my credit card however the flight detail does not appear on your system. It loks like a system bug

MY FLIGHTS tab should include either “flight number” and/or “ticket number” readily available. Those 2 pieces of info is what we use the most, and they should be far more easy to reach on the app.
Terrible app, even worse customer service

Developers working on this app are probably novices. Worst app experience, ground staff and customer desk is oblivious to what can go or is going wrong with the app. I paid for prime category flight and changed my flight via this horrible app which gave all confirmations and even a refund due to airfare difference ( which I still did not receive). If I had an alternative would not even come close to this airline.

The mobile app is quite easy to use and can handle most transactions from purchasing tickets, upgrades, changes etc. However it does crash frequently which can get frustrating after going thru all the “filling in all the passenger” details.

I have a flight with Turkish Airlines. The app does not recognize it . I paid in advance for seats only to NOT have them when I went online (by computer) to check in!!! In addition you have to go to the airport to get your boarding pass. After getting the boarding pass the app still doesn’t show me on the flight and I can’t track my bags!!!!!!!!!! I’m use to the Delta app which constantly sends me alerts in addition to the location of my bags!!!!

Tried to check in for myself and my wife. It only allowed me to check in for the IST to NUE flight, not my complete journey. Also, after I checked in and sent myself my boarding pass, I had to start the whole process over for my wife. Allow my to process both without starting over.
One of the worst customer service

TK ground customer service don’t care about customers al all. I was left next to the gate of my flight waiting for shuttle to take me to the plane and the customer service disappeared and closed the gate while I’m waiting next to the gate for the shuttle. I confronted them, even asked them to look at video of the incidence, emails back and forth... absolutely nothing , they could not care less and didn’t refund me anything or even found me replacement flights. I had to rebook everything on my own and paid 900 usd for that. Worst of all I was flying business class and I’m a gold star alliance member. With Turkish airline, always hope everything goes well because if it doesn’t no one at all will try to fix!!
Baggage delayed

On our way to Nairobi from San Francisco, our baggage’s were not loaded on the Istanbul to Nairobi flight. We are in a group of 12 people. Only 1 person got the luggage. Some one at Nairobi airport said that Turkish airline does it often prioritizing high paying commercial cargo. We had so much trouble without our in our safari trip. We finally got our luggage after 3days. It would be very hard to select Turkish Airline in the future travels which we do often
App does not display flights booked online

App is easy to navigate; however I recently made a reservation on the airline website and the app say there is no booking. After I type in my PRN number I can access reservation; however, it won’t let me select seats or save the reservation under my flights. App is easy to navigate but it needs to sync up with website reservation
I can’t update or install new version

I was trying to update my app in my Iphone but I couldn’t so I removed my old version and try to install app but still is just hanging and not installing.

They have no respect for the passengers, they will over book and cancel anyone with no reason or warning. My flight was delayed, I still arrived 2 hours early for departure on time, but the manager lied and said I had to be 4 hours early for international flight and that I had missed my flight. ( despite their website saying do not come more than 2 hours early for international flight) The story goes on and on and on and the details gets worse and worse. Complaining to their website and headquarters didn’t do anything. My request kept getting pushed back or ignored like they never received it. It’s been 2 years. I WILL..... NEVER FLY TURKISH AIRLINES EVER!! I rather take a boat for 30 hours then fly with them.

Flight was comfortable and with wifi and u can use all apps including social media. And full internet services on international flights.

Airport, Service, food, lounge is excellent except miles&Smiles program ,, opening account, adding miles to app you can’t handle it in one day needs to be done old style I don’t know why ??? hoping they will hire some professional international Technology Chef person they can handle all this hassle easily . I Gave up to add my old miles etc I don’t want to waist my time anymore

I like the new app features especially the one I can associate my flights bought by an external agent. TK is the best in the inflight service. Flight attendants are always friendly and solution oriented.
No Standard Meal Selection

In Turkish Airlines membership section in profile section Meal Preferences, there is no Standard Meal Selection. It’s different listing from web-site Meal Preferences. I want to change to Standard Meal but can’t. Please fix it. Preferred cities selection they kept lost after sign off. Please fix it.

Challenges

Every transaction seems to have challenges - whether it’s confirming a selected seat and then it disappearing during checking in online, to finding out whether there is an upgrade possible for my young sister, nothing is simple, just complicated. I can’t seem to ever use my United Airlines MP miles to upgrade, on my last trip or this one, so I was forced to pay. Shame.
