by ooo ie goobie lm on 2019/05/18 22:04
Problem is that the app does not give the order of passes by satellites. It makes you click on each followed satellite to see the next pass. That is a pain in the neck. Another problem is that this app gives alerts about the next satellite pass but when you click into other satellites in the list you find one that is passing sooner and at a better viewing time - like when it is dark and easier to spot and observe the pass.
Only tracks ISS

I’m outside every night!
by Idaho horse lover on 2019/04/21 15:02
I am running outside every few hours watching for the ISS to come over the west coast. I also captured an object on my I phone that was unexplainable. It was solid red and I followed it for more than three minutes. IT THEN EXPELLED AN OBJECT. I have that on video. It’s on my Facebook page.
Paying
by 1davstar on 2019/04/18 17:10
I’m currently paying for an app that isn’t operating.. I’ve tried to “restore” several times.. even tried un-subscribing.. Nothing is working. I’ve tried support, haven’t gotten through or gotten any answers.. At one time this app worked.. Now I’m paying for it and it doesn’t???
Disappointed
by Prenscan on 2019/04/12 05:03
Why do I receive notifications and spend five minutes before and five minutes after the notification time and see nothing in the sky? Why do I see things flying to the sky clearly visible and they are not in your tracking app?
Download bugs
by wagodfrey on 2019/04/01 00:17
I paid but it will not download to iphone8. The ‘downloading’ status doesn’t clear - so every time I choose a particular satellite I am taken back to downloading. This now 48 hours - so I think it’s a buggy app

Super Cool App For Spotting Satellites!
by HiveSeeker on 2019/01/21 01:00
This app really works! I keep track of which satellites I’ve seen by taking a screenshot of the projected path when I’ve spotted it, as well as the “satellite’s view” of my location as it passes over. Note that sometimes satellites are in the earth’s shadow and can’t be seen, or may be too dim to view if you have a lot of light pollution in your area as I do. For the latter situation I find a bright star or planet near the projected path and then scan the area with binoculars as the satellite is supposed to be passing by. My favorites so far are ISS and Hubble which can both be quite bright!

I downloaded the app and decided although it seems like a very nice app that it was just not for me. The app is going to auto charge me in a few days (After the free seven day trial period) but without subscribing to it there is no way to cancel the subscription....or they have been very successful in hiding the “Turn off auto renew“ button. Two thumbs down.

I use this app a lot. It would be 5 star is it gave more information on satellites such as distance from Earth. Also so would be nice to turn off gyro.

This only tracks less than 20 satellite at this time. This No info on them. Flight path above the horizon back ground can’t be seen will. There is no zoom feature and and controls are limited. For a paid app expected a lot more than what you can get free from most free Astronomy apps.

I became interested in ISS. When I saw my Orlando meteorologist make an announcement you all were coming near me. I stay up that night, did not see immediately and had given up ,and then I saw the shuttle, I am scared of snake, I danced in my back yard. I phone everyone to tell the good news. Now I can’t wait to see you all a second time. Until then I will keep watching and waiting for you all to pass my way.

This is probably the best app for finding all the major satellites. Shows where it is on an earth map , has a rotatable 3D picture of the satellite picture above the earth and has an arrow to locate it it the sky. Worth the $4 a year cost.

Don’t bother unless you plan on upgrading
by Maowai on 2018/11/23 15:18
The free version is so riddled with ads that it’s almost unusable. I understand the need to monetize, but almost every button and tab change triggers a full screen ad that I have to wait 5 seconds to dismiss. I assume that the high score is the result of review manipulation. This could be a fun little app if they dialed back the ads.

Not worth it
by goodluckfindingapp on 2018/11/15 16:00
Several free apps will provide similar information. This app chirps alerts constantly and often the supposed satellites aren’t visible. Maybe a great app if you need to track satellite but most hobbyists can probably do better elsewhere
At 5:14am PAC time, watched ISS above San Diego
by Marybobr on 2018/11/15 13:18
But it was not alone! Another object, smaller satellite perhaps, was traveling in the opposite direction practically crossing paths with ISS. Does anyone know what this satellite was? Disappeared when it was straight overhead.

Only 15 Sats & Unsubscribing Near Impossible
by CaseyLocke0047 on 2018/11/12 12:15
After trying the trial version and being disappointed that I could only evaluate it with the ISS, I purchased a subscription because the price seemed so reasonable. Once I saw the subscription had only 15 satellites, I immediately tried to unsubscribe. As many others have pointed out in negative reviews, unsubscribing is nearly impossible. I experienced the exact same thing others did which is that the "unsubscribe" link in the app is broken and takes you no where. While I do not believe this app is intended to be a scam, the broken unsubscribe link IMMEDIATELY makes me suspicious. I had to spend 10 minutes googling to figure out how to forcibly unsubscribe by going deep into the iPhone Settings app. This is really a shame because with one exception, the design and functionality of the app itself seems pretty good. The only annoying thing about functionality (other than only tracking 15 satellites) is that you cannot zoom in on the globe to see precisely where the satellite is passing over. You can only see the whole global from space and get a rough visual idea of where it passes over. If the app had warned me ahead of time that subscribing only gives me 15 satellites AND if the "unsubscribe" button worked so it didn't give the impression of being a scam, I would have rated this app 4 out of 5 stars. Those two things would have saved me and many others a great deal of frustration. I do not recommend this app at all.

This app lets you see the positions of stars in the sky at night and during the day. All you have to do is hold your phone up in the direction you want to see and planets, stars, and satellites all appear there before your eyes! It is so cool to find a certain planet or constellation on the virtual map and look up and be able to find it in the night sky. If you or your kids have an interest in astronomy, this app is totally worth a download!

No available capability in the free app
by JRAndrews on 2018/08/17 04:24
I was unable to evaluate this application, because the only satellite tracking capability it has in the free version is the ISS. If you want to actually determine the satellite that you’re seeing, you have to buy a recurring subscription. Given this limitation, it’s impossible to evaluate the quality of the application.

99 cents
by Jaketg1 on 2018/04/02 20:10
Most of us lose 99 cents in a couch cushion in a day. It's cheap. 99 cents for like 3 months I think and it's easy to cancel. This developer is doing us a solid. I also like that it's not complicated. It has to be simple so the average person can enjoy it. For the more advanced science nerds out there, there are bigger better more appropriate tools. This is for the novice. I don't want to be a rocket scientist, just a casual user to have simple fun with. There needs to be more satellites though. One new one per month or something. It's fun to see a satellite then open a tab and google and learn its history and stuff. What would be REALLY cool is to have a live forum for the ap users to chat with while seeing the satellite travel across the sky! Link users and satellites. It would be cool to know when a person "sees" what I'm seeing in real time 400 miles alway. More user interaction...more of a collective experience. Also, maybe integrate the live camera feeds for iss into the page so you can track and watch....I have a stupid powerful laser and I'm dying to see if I can see a tiny green dot on the camera if I shine it up there. Boy wouldn't that pizz off the flat earthers if you could see it live on camera in orbit!

The visuals are very nice. You get three views of the ISS position plus the ability to point your phone at some of the brightest stars and see their names. When ISS passes, center it on your screen and your phone will be pointing at where to look. I am disappointed that the app tracks satellites besides the ISS only if you subscribe. It’s there in the fine print; so, despite the fact that I’m going to immediately uninstall the app, I can’t ding it any stars for that in the rating. - - - I’ve retuned to deduct three stars. I’ve gone out to look for the ISS three times and not seen it. Perhaps it’s in earth’s shadow at 7:15 pm in December; but if it is, the app ought to have calculated the brightness and not alerted me.
Yes!!!

Had an app like this years ago and really was not impressed. But on a recent camping trip with the kids , I thought it might be worth another shot. Worth every penny!!! (It was free.) The first night we spent at least an hour playing with the app, handing it around to everyone, and generally enjoying it. I thought the fun would have worn off the second night, but it didn’t. Looking forward to the next time I’m somewhere at night and can pull this out to see and learn more about the night sky.
Incredible!
by LemonGloss23 on 2018/09/14 01:35
This app lets you see the positions of stars in the sky at night and during the day.

Cool, thought out and designed to easily use find satellites you want to see in real time
by YO-BRO-Y-SO-SLO on 2018/07/28 04:40
Voted best app off 2016 which tells me its three years old. But after using it around ten minutes I would of never known I was playing with a older app. It’s fresh. Good graphics if it was just out. Maybe major updates kept it so good. If all your looking for is to know where the important satellite’s are in real time. It’s going to be hard to find a better app.

Great for tracking the International Space Station. To track other satellites, they want a subscription of .99 cents every three months. That sounds odd. Why not $3.99 a year instead of every 3 months? Otherwise no complaints. I like the app but the subscription should be yearly, NOT every 3 months. Hopefully Vito Technology will change it to a yearly subscription. They make excellent astronomy apps.
App review in short
by Roo440 on 2017/11/01 03:46
This app is really fun. The timing is pretty spot on for when satellites are flying over. Even thought the only one I have been able to track and actually observe is the ISS. The app is stuck in constant still downloading limbo for the others. The other views the app has about the satellites is pretty remarkable giving you a view of several different angles.

by Dash riproc on 2017/12/12 16:02
Amazing tech that allows so many perspectives to view our wonderful planet. The ability to rotate the image and see the planet in darkness and then rotate back again is amazing. The aurora is spectacular in that the process that causes it is invisible to the naked eye. Truly entertaining and wondrous that it can be viewed from a handheld battery powered computer.
App rating
by Pmadren on 2018/04/11 10:00
Could be a little more information on how the app works. Would only want to be notified when a satellite is passing over my location that I could see. Price is a little high for what your getting and there are several free or lower priced that does the same. Maybe not as nice in the graphics but your just wanting to find a satellite then try some free ones first.
So Cool!!
by Louisiana_Lady_ on 2018/03/01 02:17
This app allows you to track a satellite all around the world, providing second by second accuracy and coordinates so you know where exactly it is. The display is beautiful and pretty easy to use. Only downside is that you have to pay a small monthly fee to view more than the one satellite they give you. Still really neat!
Absolutely astonishing.
by Mycroft704 on 2017/10/26 00:45
Of all the things I do not regret that the world has become, I do not regret certain advances of technology which address and satisfy at least my own deep curiosity as to what it is that’s going on up there. This is fantastic. To display the aurora borealis? Unimaginable 30 years ago.
No telemetry, no coordinates of any kind
by jbmz on 2017/10/14 05:01
This app looks pretty but that’s about it. You will not learn anything particularly interesting about the different types of orbits satellites are deployed in today. Oh and you only get to view satellite IIS unless you fork over a subscription fee every three months. Starwalk is much better and provides much more detail and about everything there is in the universe. Does what it says, just thought there was more.
Incredible!
by D Jean R on 2018/05/11 18:22
Beautiful & educational with the ability to track the ISS as it makes its course around our planet & also to see where it passes each planet & known star in our solar system is just spectacular. Thank you for something so beautiful!
This is awesome
by JustMatthew82 on 2018/10/10 04:45
I don’t usually give reviews but I must say this app really does what it should. Tonight I saw the ISS right on time and they said it would Apex and generally you can look at any star with within reason and find out what it is I incurred you to get it

This is probably the best app for finding all the major satellites. Shows where it is on an earth map , has a rotatable 3D picture of the satellite picture above the earth and has an arrow to locate it it the sky. Worth the $4 a year cost.
Fabulous viewing

Decent app but tracks objects that no longer exist.
by Yoga Supernova on 2018/04/03 02:29
I got this app to track Tiangong-1. Tiangong-1 fell and burnt up in the atmosphere 20 hours ago, yet the app still says it is active and is tracking it as though it still exists. Really makes me wonder about the accuracy. Are the other space objects this app is “tracking” really there?

I paid the subscription, but the app continued to only show the ISS, no other satellites were available on the menu. So, within 30 minutes of my purchase, I clicked on the app's Cancel function, but my browser said the link was invalid. I sent Support an email, so far no response. This looks fishy.... Guess I need to contact my credit card company to make sure I don't get charged.

by Jess Amaris on 2018/08/23 03:40
If you want to view or track other satellites, you get a 1-week trial before having to pay 99 cents every three months. Just FYI. The price itself is reasonable but I don’t like the idea of a recurring charge, I’d rather pay a flat fee.

by Aaronisnothappy on 2017/10/13 02:20
Sky Walk is great so I thought I would give this a try. The interface is passable but not great. What earned the one star was the subscription process. I appreciate that I'm given a week free trial. The app tells you you can manage it in settings but if you dismiss the window it's impossible to find settings. I'm deleting the app with the hope I don't get charged after the trial period expires.

Nice App but...
by Fish'n at Work on 2018/09/11 02:57
It's cool for about a month and then you realize that you're seeing way more satellites up there than are on this app. What's more.. this app lists satellites that will never appear in your visible horizon. Some satellites are are defunct and out of control. Not worth it. .99 cents for 3 months. Yeah about right. You could look online for free.

Why do I receive notifications and spend five minutes before and five minutes after the notification time and see nothing in the sky? Why do I see things flying to the sky clearly visible and they are not in your tracking app?
Needs improvement
by Jim O.37031 on 2017/10/01 05:29
Pros: The display on this app is delightful! Cons: Only the ISS is included free. It appears other satellites will be unlocked with app purchase. The other disappointment is it shows all passes without giving you the option to select visible passes only.
Nice!
by KC2CQD on 2018/03/01 01:28
This is a great app and is visually amazing! I’d give it one more star if you offered more satellites. I’m a licensed Amateur Radio operator and would like to track just about anything with a NORAD number, maybe an information panel on the satellites would be cool.

The amount of satellites one can view is extremely limited. There are better apps than this. I’ve tracked about 5-6 so far with a gen-1 night scope and this didn’t list anything. And sorry - American Company? Forget business in Russia and China, I want to see where their cool(military) sats are.

Fantastic app!

While the handful of popular and most searched for satellites are preloaded in the app is convenient. It would be a nice bonus to search for the thousands of other satellites by name or NORAD ID. Just a thought but otherwise interesting to use.

I’ve asked creators. Most space apps give too much extra junk (like cartoons over constellations which i hate.) Finding a simple app is hard.

Several free apps will provide similar information. This app chirps alerts constantly and often the supposed satellites aren’t visible. Maybe a great app if you need to track satellite but most hobbyists can probably do better elsewhere

I am only interested in ISS (the Space Station) & Hubble, NOT every satellite that comes within 400 mi. of my residence but (& I am not tech savvy at all, I’m 70) but I get the same “notification” (sound + drop-down notice) for EVERY single satellite, which interrupts whatever I’m doing & I cannot figure out how to block all the others! I’ve asked creators. Most space apps give too much extra junk (like cartoons over constellations which i hate.) Finding a simple app is hard. Used to be app called ‘star junk’ point phone @ star & get name & designation (blue super-giant). Period. Many fans. Quick, easy CS
Alerts you tho ISS is in shadow?
by Alphadogtucker on 2017/12/13 03:46
The visuals are very nice.

Maybe not as nice in the graphics but your just wanting to find a satellite then try some free ones first.

by Louisiana_Lady_ on 2018/03/01 02:17
This app allows you to track a satellite all around the world, providing second by second accuracy and coordinates so you know where exactly it is.

Sky Walk is great so I thought I would give this a try. The interface is passable but not great. What earned the one star was the subscription process. I appreciate that I'm given a week free trial. The amount of satellites one can view is extremely limited. There are better apps than this. I’ve tracked about 5-6 so far with a gen-1 night scope and this didn’t list anything. And sorry - American Company? Forget business in Russia and China, I want to see where their cool(military) sats are.
Amazing!!

All that is happening right under our nose and so few people really know about it (or care) ... are we not the human race after all?
Don’t bother unless you plan on upgrading

The free version is so riddled with ads that it’s almost unusable. I understand the need to monetize, but almost every button and tab change triggers a full screen ad that I have to wait 5 seconds to dismiss. I assume that the high score is the result of review manipulation. This could be a fun little app if they dialed back the ads.
Fantastic app!

We’re camping and I downloaded the app just 5 minutes before the ISS passed overhead. If not for the app, we would never have seen it.
Awesome and accurate!!

Saw a light traveling across the sky last night, looked at the app and sure enough it was the ISS. Showed exactly where it was.
Cool App!

Great little app for free, gives you a chance to use your mind for something that’s real other than Facebook, which is not real!! 😬

Can the flat map be brightened up, it rather dark. Also, can I toggle the world map from day night mode, to off. Hard to see cities in night mode. Thanks

Great program! Love the different viewing modes! Nice pictures of the various satellites, as well. Would like more information on various satellites. Thanks
Needs improvement

It’s a great app for tracking the ISS! I just viewed the ISS pass buy my neighborhood. Unfortunately, the tracking of the satellite was a bit off. It came a little later than what the app was showing me.
Regrets purchasing this!

This product is over price for what it does. I expected a lot more

I use satellites every day in my line of work just nice to see where they are!
Novel but limited

While the handful of popular and most searched for satellites are preloaded in the app is convenient. It would be a nice bonus to search for the thousands of other satellites by name or NORAD ID. Just a thought but otherwise interesting to use.
