App is not efficient

I appreciate being able to purchase tickets through an app. However, it takes about 7 or more clicks to purchase and activate a ticket, which isn’t the biggest deal, but it’s noticeable. Also, I’ve been trying update my payment info in the app for two days with no success. Once I enter my payment info into the app, it stays on a screen that says “Updating Payment Information” for hours...days! Oh, CATS really ought to accept AMEX as well.

This worked fine until October/November 2019 Suddenly the app crashes instantly when I open it. Please fix. Maybe it’s the app, maybe iOS update but I don’t have issues with other apps

The Cats Pass App The option for monthly tickets for purchasing is no longer an option. From the drop down there is, 1 day, 7 day or One way, but monthly is no longer an option. Please fix!! Suggestion, Apple Pay integration and tickets to appear Wallet App for easier access.

Good app for buying and storing cats tickets. I use a different app for train schedule. Unfortunately the app crashes immediately on iOS 13 and I am unable to use my tickets.

Was working well till yesterday. Phone got upgraded to iOS 13 and app would not open. Luckily i tried before boarding train. Bot being able to open app would have resulted in citations. This is service and payment app and must have been tested for iOS release.

Found out the hard way that limit is two cards only and even if your card expires you can not replace it for 6 months? Nice customer service but totally said it was the app developer’s rule. Seriously?

The app is unreliable opening up. There are times where I have to close all open apps, sometimes I need to restart my phone. The only positive is that the design of the app (once it opens) is pretty simple and intuitive.

This app has been unreliable and useless. I purchased a monthly pass on the 18th of the prior month. No pop up acknowledging the purchase was successful or not. I had to check with my credit card to verify the purchase went through. The pass did not show up until later during the first week of the month. Luckily I was on vacation that week and didn’t need the pass. I’m into my second month of using the app. It’s now the 22nd and the next month passes are not showing up for sale even though they’re supposed to be available for sale after the 20th. The paper passes are available online after the 16th. Go figure. I get conflicting information from technical support, depending on who assists you. I don’t trust this app or the expertise of those behind it.

I bought monthly pass for current month. Transaction is complete but it doesn’t reflect on app and I cannot use it. Ridiculous app. Raised issue and they gave me general CAT customer care number. Which opens only on mon-fri. 👎🏻👎🏻

I learned the hard way that you cannot add more than 2 credit/debit cards at a time, not only that, if you try to delete up to 2 forms of payment (I lost my wallet so I needed to get ALL my credit/debit cards replaced), that your account will be restricted for SIX MONTHS!!! This is ridiculous, and there is no reason that should happen. I had to call CATS and beg to please have them release my account so I could use it, because I use it to go to and from work every day, and they agreed to a ONE time courtesy release, but if I had to remove and replace cards again, it would be a SIX MONTH RESTRICTION once again. There should be no reason for this, security or no security excuse. This is 2018, almost 2019, what gives?! ALSO, how about a BUS PASS OPTION? That would be AWESOME!!!

The app worked great for a while but now it takes FOREVER to load or does not load at all. I have had cops checking tix who have become frustrated waiting for my app to load (or reopen if phone is off) and have been ready to write me up because I cannot prove that I have a valid ticket. Very frustrating. Loved it before this issue.

You can buy the tickets you need. However, there are several features that need to be added: -ApplePay not integrated into the app. -Multi-day/Monthly passes cannot be added to Apple Wallet after activation (only visible in-app). -This app is separate from the schedule app (different developer), so if the service is limited or closed, there’s no warning prior to purchase. -App is very fussy about allowing you to add a new payment method. Half the time it encounters an error & won’t let you add a new debit/credit card. -The English & Spanish ticket options are mixed together in the drop down menu, rather than selecting a particular language for the entire app. Overall: Functional, but clunky & unpolished.
No monthly pass option

Terrible app if you change your card more than twice. Mine was stolen several times. After the second time you get locked out the account and cannot add any new credit card information or even Apple Pay. It makes no sense to have an app that’s won’t allow changing payment information over time. It defeats the purpose. I called the transit office several time and was told that I have to wait 6 months to use the card with my new payment information.!!!

I love the app and it was working great but lost my card that was linked to it so I removed the card and tried to add another one and it won’t let me. I’ve tried four different cards and I keep getting an error message that network is not available and to try again. Does this whether I’m just on my cellular network or over WiFi. I’ve been doing this for two weeks and still nothing :-(

I almost got put off my bus home because this app takes forever to load. I had to the bus driver that I was waiting for the app to load. Please fix this ASAP. I prefer using this rather than cash or a bus card that I could lose if forget.

It saves lot of hassle to get ticket befor riding. Sometime if a person needs ticket as train in about to start and someone already inline it get a miss. However now you can keep a ticket purchased by your cell and use it whenever needed. Perfect for commuters!!!

I wish this app provided a way to actually track the trains in real time. With GPS, I could actually see how far away the next train is... and decide if I should wait or not. There is an unofficial app for schedules, but I don’t find it to be accurate at all.

I can only purchase one ticket (I tried purchasing from individual phones as stated in the FAQs). I also tried purchasing multiple tickets at one time and was unsuccessful. The FAQs state that I have that option as well. No dice. I like the light rail and would really like to use the app but since I rarely travel alone I don’t see this being worth the trouble of using part app and part ticket machine. Bummer.

I like taking the train and all is good but the only bad thing it is sometimes late on the shedule and it is inconvenient since I do my shedule base on the fact that it is supposed to go every 10 minutes on week days and sometimes it is not doing this and it is taking sometimes 20 minutes to go in the afternoons most of the time. Example. It is shedule to go at 4:33 pm but it ain’t arrived until 4:43 which’s 20 minutes after 4:40

A few folks are evading train fare by not enabling the app and using the ticket. They purchase and show the ticket only when there is a check. To avoid this, the app needs to use geolocation or geotagging feature wheeein once you are in the train at a station and the app recognises that you have moved along the path of 2 stations then you are automatically charged for a ticket.

I already have an account with their site. Every other app I own lets you use the same account in your app that you have on their site. I don’t like that I have to create a different one when I have benefits already attached to my account. Not worth using.

6/11/2018: I usually purchase monthly pass and this time i bought it through app. I activated my monthly pass and after 5-7 days it doesn’t show in active directory. 6/12/2018: Reported bug issue and they reached out to me through email and solved the issue within 20-30 mins 4⭐️

It’s not the most user-friendly navigation and interface has room for improvement, but I love not having to worry about waiting in line to purchase ticket while the train is rollin up. Wish I could buy tickets for my friends.

Having pass available on a phone lowers the chance of it getting lost - value goes up with length of pass, so app&#39;s best value to me is monthly pass. I&#39;m a newer user of Lynx, but have been in CLT for years, and the longest line I&#39;ve seen at a kiosk has been &lt;5 people. I don&#39;t see this app as having value associated to reduced wait times. Please remedy this. But read the other comments, and I probably won&#39;t use it until you put an option to not save CC# in production.

This app is a major step up from relying on the ticket kiosks which barely work. The major issues I have are: -it takes no less than 10-12 taps to buy a singe ticket. (Seriously??) -no option to buy a adult round trip ticket - only one way. Also no weekly pass. -after purchase, the cart goes to default ticket selection (unlimited day pass) and payment selection goes blank. -no way to save a default ticket selection and payment for quick purchase. -allows you to assign a nickname to a credit card during setup but nickname does not show up during the actual Checkout process...kind of defies the purpose of proving a nickname. Hope you can distinguish your cards by the last 4 digits... This is a good start and I hope they make major improvements in the future.

Ticket machines rarely work correctly. When they do, there&#39;s a line. This is a definite need. It&#39;s a solid first draft. Pro: -buy a ticket ahead of time--at home or while you&#39;re on the platform -relatively easy to use -u can buy multiple tix (for family, etc) at a time Cons: -i don&#39;t like that the app saves my cc#; serious security concern; why no pay pal? -u can&#39;t activate a purchased ticket while on the train; you must be stationary; even when stopped at a station, the app didn&#39;t let me activate--what?!? -NINE CLICKS to buy and activate a ticket; that&#39;s even with a saved cc number; this needs to be trimmed down unless I can activate while sitting on train Overall: A good first app. Keep going and listen to feedback. I&#39;ll continue to use this and recommend to others.

I love that I can purchase tickets on the app now. A good feature would be to allow users to add passes to their Apple wallet. This would be especially helpful if your phone dies and need to show your ticket. You&#39;d be able to use your Apple Watch.

I almost got put off my bus home because this app takes forever to load. I had to the bus driver that I was waiting for the app to load. Please fix this ASAP. I prefer using this rather than cash or a bus card that I could lose if forget.

I appreciate being able to purchase tickets through an app. However, it takes about 7 or more clicks to purchase and activate a ticket, which isn’t the biggest deal, but it’s noticeable. Also, I’ve been trying update my payment info in the app for two days with no success. Once I enter my payment info into the app, it stays on a screen that says “Updating Payment Information” for hours...days! Oh, CATS really ought to accept AMEX as well.

It saves lot of hassle to get ticket befor riding. Sometime if a person needs ticket as train in about to start and someone already inline it get a miss. However now you can keep a ticket purchased by your cell and use it whenever needed. Perfect for commuters!!!

You can buy the tickets you need. However, there are several features that need to be added: -ApplePay not integrated into the app. -Multi-day/Monthly passes cannot be added to Apple Wallet after activation (only visible in-app). -This app is separate from the schedule app (different developer), so if the service is limited or closed, there’s no warning prior to purchase. -App is very fussy about allowing you to add a new payment method. Half the time it encounters an error &amp; won’t let you add a new debit/credit card. -The English &amp; Spanish ticket options are mixed together in the drop down menu, rather than selecting a particular language for the entire app. Overall: Functional, but clunky &amp; unpolished.

A few folks are evading train fare by not enabling the app and using the ticket. They purchase and show the ticket only when there is a check. To avoid this, the app needs to use geolocation or geotagging feature wheeein once you are in the train at a station and the app recognises that you have moved along the path of 2 stations then you are automatically charged for a ticket.

I wish this app provided a way to actually track the trains in real time. With GPS, I could actually see how far away the next train is... and decide if I should wait or not. There is an unofficial app for schedules, but I don’t find it to be accurate at all.

I can only purchase one ticket (I tried purchasing from individual phones as stated in the FAQs). I also tried purchasing multiple tickets at one time and was unsuccessful. The FAQs state that I have that option as well. No dice. I like the light rail and would really like to use the app but since I rarely travel alone I don’t see this being worth the trouble of using part app and part ticket machine. Bummer.

I love that I can purchase tickets on the app now. A good feature would be to allow users to add passes to their Apple wallet. This would be especially helpful if your phone dies and need to show your ticket. You&#39;d be able to use your Apple Watch.

I already have an account with their site. Every other app I own lets you use the same account in your app that you have on their site. I don’t like that I have to create a different one when I have benefits already attached to my account. Not worth using.

Was working well till yesterday. Phone got upgraded to iOS 13 and app would not open. Luckily i tried before boarding train. Bot being able to open app would have resulted in citations. This is service and payment app and must have been tested for iOS release.

This app has been unreliable and useless. I purchased a monthly pass on the 18th of the prior month. No pop up acknowledging the purchase was successful or not. I had to check with my credit card to verify the purchase went through. The pass did not show up until later during the first week of the month. Luckily I was on vacation that week and didn’t need the pass. I’m into my second month of using the app. It’s now the 22nd and the next month passes are not showing up for sale even though they’re supposed to be available for sale after the 20th. The paper passes are available online after the 16th. Go figure. I get conflicting information from technical support, depending on who assists you. I don’t trust this app or the expertise of those behind it.

I learned the hard way that you cannot add more than 2 credit/debit cards at a time, not only that, if you try to delete up to 2 forms of payment (I lost my wallet so I needed to get ALL my credit/debit cards replaced), that your account will be restricted for SIX MONTHS!!! This is ridiculous, and there is no reason that should happen. I had to call CATS and beg to please have them release my account so I could use it, because I use it to go to and from work every day, and they agreed to a ONE time courtesy release, but if I had to remove and replace cards again, it would be a SIX MONTH RESTRICTION once again. There should be no reason for this, security or no security excuse. This is 2018, almost 2019, what gives?! ALSO, how about a BUS PASS OPTION? That would be AWESOME!!!

Terrible app if you change your card more than twice. Mine was stolen several times. After the second time you get locked out the account and cannot add any new credit card information or even Apple Pay. It makes no sense to have an app that’s won’t allow changing payment information over time. It defeats the purpose. I called the transit office several time and was told that I have to wait 6 months to use the card with my new payment information.!!!

I love the app and it was working great but lost my card that was linked to it so I removed the card and tried to add another one and it won’t let me. I’ve tried four different cards and I keep getting an error message that network is not available and to try again. Does this whether I’m just on my cellular network or over WiFi. I’ve been doing this for two weeks and still nothing :-(

I like taking the train and all is good but the only bad thing it is sometimes late on the shedule and it is inconvenient since I do my shedule base on the fact that it is supposed to go every 10 minutes on week days and sometimes it is not doing this and it is taking sometimes 20 minutes to go in the afternoons most of the time. Example. It is shedule to go at 4:33 pm but it ain’t arrived until 4:43 which’s 20 minutes after 4:40

6/11/2018: I usually purchase monthly pass and this time i bought it through app. I activated my monthly pass and after 5-7 days it doesn’t show in active directory. 6/12/2018: Reported bug issue and they reached out to me through email and solved the issue within 20-30 mins 4⭐️

Everytime i try to get into this app it says I have no internet connection, which isn’t true. I even uninstalled and installed and it’s giving me the same issue. Totally worthless. If anyone knows a fix please let me know.

It’s not the most user-friendly navigation and interface has room for improvement, but I love not having to worry about waiting in line to purchase ticket while the train is rollin up. Wish I could buy tickets for my friends.

Having pass available on a phone lowers the chance of it getting lost - value goes up with length of pass, so app&#39;s best value to me is monthly pass. I&#39;m a newer user of Lynx, but have been in CLT for years, and the longest line I&#39;ve seen at a kiosk has been &lt;5 people. I don&#39;t see this app as having value associated to reduced wait times. Please remedy this. But read the other comments, and I probably won&#39;t use it until you put an option to not save CC# in production.

This app is a major step up from relying on the ticket kiosks which barely work. The major issues I have are: -it takes no less than 10-12 taps to buy a singe ticket. (Seriously??) -no option to buy a adult round trip ticket - only one way. Also no weekly pass. -after purchase, the cart goes to default ticket selection (unlimited day pass) and payment selection goes blank. -no way to save a default ticket selection and payment for quick purchase. -allows you to assign a nickname to a credit card during setup but nickname does not show up during the actual Checkout process...kind of defies the purpose of proving a nickname. Hope you can distinguish your cards by the last 4 digits... This is a good start and I hope they make major improvements in the future.

I love that I can purchase tickets on the app now. A good feature would be to allow users to add passes to their Apple wallet. This would be especially helpful if your phone dies and need to show your ticket. You&#39;d be able to use your Apple Watch.

Not ready for prime time

This app has been unreliable and useless. I purchased a monthly pass on the 18th of the prior month. No pop up acknowledging the purchase was successful or not. I had to check with my credit card to verify the purchase went through. The pass did not show up until later during the first week of the month. Luckily I was on vacation that week and didn’t need the pass. I’m into my second month of using the app. It’s now the 22nd and the next month passes are not showing up for sale even though they’re supposed to be available for sale after the 20th. The paper passes are available online after the 16th. Go figure. I get conflicting information from technical support, depending on who assists you. I don’t trust this app or the expertise of those behind it.
Shedule

I like taking the train and all is good but the only bad thing it is sometimes late on the shedule and it is inconvenient since I do my shedule base on the fact that it is supposed to go every 10 minutes on week days and sometimes it is not doing this and it is taking sometimes 20 minutes to go in the afternoons most of the time. Example. It is shedule to go at 4:33 pm but it ain’t arrived until 4:43 which’s 20 minutes after 4:40

I learned the hard way that you cannot add more than 2 credit/debit cards at a time, not only that, if you try to delete up to 2 forms of payment (I lost my wallet so I needed to get ALL my credit/debit cards replaced), that your account will be restricted for SIX MONTHS!!! This is ridiculous, and there is no reason that should happen. I had to call CATS and beg to please have them release my account so I could use it, because I use it to go to and from work every day, and they agreed to a ONE time courtesy release, but if I had to remove and replace cards again, it would be a SIX MONTH RESTRICTION once again. There should be no reason for this, security or no security excuse. This is 2018, almost 2019, what gives?! ALSO, how about a BUS PASS OPTION? That would be AWESOME!!!

The app worked great for a while but now it takes FOREVER to load or does not load at all. I have had cops checking tix who have become frustrated waiting for my app to load (or reopen if phone is off) and have been ready to write me up because I cannot prove that I have a valid ticket. Very frustrating. Loved it before this issue.

At first it was working with no problems at all with me and now that I’m trying to add my cards back to the payment method and it keeps saying that there is a connect issue and i have been trying since yesterday. Please fix cause I’m am getting aggravated. Other than that that app is very helpful in all ways especially for the people that takes the bus like I.
Not working on iOS 13

Was working well till yesterday. Phone got upgraded to iOS 13 and app would not open. Luckily i tried before boarding train. Bot being able to open app would have resulted in citations. This is service and payment app and must have been tested for iOS release.

Terrible app if you change your card more than twice. Mine was stolen several times. After the second time you get locked out the account and cannot add any new credit card information or even Apple Pay. It makes no sense to have an app that’s won’t allow changing payment information over time. It defeats the purpose. I called the transit office several time and was told that I have to wait 6 months to use the card with my new payment information.!!!

Won’t let me add a new card

I love the app and it was working great but lost my card that was linked to it so I removed the card and tried to add another one and it won’t let me. I’ve tried four different cards and I keep getting an error message that network is not available and to try again. Does this whether I’m just on my cellular network or over WiFi. I’ve been doing this for two weeks and still nothing :-(

Takes forever to load

I almost got put off my bus home because this app takes forever to load. I had to the bus driver that I was waiting for the app to load. Please fix this ASAP. I prefer using this rather than cash or a bus card that I could lose if forget.
App is not efficient

I appreciate being able to purchase tickets through an app. However, it takes about 7 or more clicks to purchase and activate a ticket, which isn’t the biggest deal, but it’s noticeable. Also, I’ve been trying update my payment info in the app for two days with no success. Once I enter my payment info into the app, it stays on a screen that says “Updating Payment Information” for hours...days! Oh, CATS really ought to accept AMEX as well.

It saves lot of hassle to get ticket befor riding. Sometime if a person needs ticket as train in about to start and someone already inline it get a miss. However now you can keep a ticket purchased by your cell and use it whenever needed. Perfect for commuters!!!

You can buy the tickets you need. However, there are several features that need to be added: -ApplePay not integrated into the app. -Multi-day/Monthly passes cannot be added to Apple Wallet after activation (only visible in-app). -This app is separate from the schedule app (different developer), so if the service is limited or closed, there’s no warning prior to purchase. -App is very fussy about allowing you to add a new payment method. Half the time it encounters an error &amp; won’t let you add a new debit/credit card. -The English &amp; Spanish ticket options are mixed together in the drop down menu, rather than selecting a particular language for the entire app. Overall: Functional, but clunky &amp; unpolished.

A few folks are evading train fare by not enabling the app and using the ticket. They purchase and show the ticket only when there is a check. To avoid this, the app needs to use geolocation or geotagging feature wheeein once you are in the train at a station and the app recognises that you have moved along the path of 2 stations then you are automatically charged for a ticket.

I wish this app provided a way to actually track the trains in real time. With GPS, I could actually see how far away the next train is... and decide if I should wait or not. There is an unofficial app for schedules, but I don’t find it to be accurate at all.

I can only purchase one ticket (I tried purchasing from individual phones as stated in the FAQs). I also tried purchasing multiple tickets at one time and was unsuccessful. The FAQs state that I have that option as well. No dice. I like the light rail and would really like to use the app but since I rarely travel alone I don’t see this being worth the trouble of using part app and part ticket machine. Bummer.

I bought monthly pass for current month. Transaction is complete but it doesn’t reflect on app and I cannot use it. Ridiculous app. Raised issue and they gave me general CAT customer care number. Which opens only on mon-fri. 👎🏻👎🏻

This worked fine until October/November 2019 Suddenly the app crashes instantly when I open it. Please fix. Maybe it’s the app, maybe iOS update but I don’t have issues with other apps

The trains and the buses are always on time. Everything is perfect and everyone is so friendly! I love Charlotte and the public transit transportation is Wonderful and Outstanding!!!

The Cats Pass App The option for monthly tickets for purchasing is no longer an option. From the drop down there is, 1 day, 7 day or One way, but monthly is no longer an option. Please fix!! Suggestion, Apple Pay integration and tickets to appear Wallet App for easier access.

I already have an account with their site. Every other app I own lets you use the same account in your app that you have on their site. I don’t like that I have to create a different one when I have benefits already attached to my account. Not worth using.

The app is unreliable opening up. There are times where I have to close all open apps, sometimes I need to restart my phone. The only positive is that the design of the app (once it opens) is pretty simple and intuitive.

Found out the hard way that limit is two cards only and even if your card expires you can not replace it for 6 months? Nice customer service but totally said it was the app developer’s rule. Seriously?

Good app for buying and storing cats tickets. I use a different app for train schedule. Unfortunately the app crashes immediately on iOS 13 and I am unable to use my tickets.
