Update limits bonus words
by oneista on 2020/07/05 09:54
Used to Love this app and have been playing it for years. The recent update no longer recognizes half the bonus words one can create using the letters. The bonus words are the most fun because that’s how you can win extra points for hints when you need them. This is very annoying. Words I could play last week are no longer valid. Might delete the app. I’m at the 7000 level and it gets boring if I can’t use the bonus words.

Good; has flaws
by pluckmynerves on 2020/07/05 08:07
Wordscapes is an addictive game (which may or may not be good). The star tournament each weekend is particularly fun, especially if you’re somewhat bored and jaded with word games. They’ve added teams and chat, which are great improvements. The scenery keeps you interested, even though the game repeats the scenes, after some point in the game. I could go for an “all beach” version of it. The big flaw is the inconsistent dictionary. You never know if it will accept a word that it accepted last puzzle. Other flaws: One false move—if you accidentally hit one of the power ups—and you’ll have the game solve the puzzle for you. That’s frustrating; there should be a confirmation question, or those buttons should be moved. There’s no info about how the game determines “Brilliance.” What does it even mean? It’s a fun game, even if you’re tired of anagram games.

This app is entertaining. Parts of the puzzles are easy, other parts are challenging, but overall it fun. If I get stuck on a puzzle, I find that taking a day or two away from it usually allows my mind to find options I was previously unable “see.”

Ok so I had this app a while back but then deleted it. My dad has had it for quite a while so I decided to get it again. I’ve always loved the app all though I do not play it often, it is a great no-WiFi game. I love the levels (I’m on 41) and they are great. It is so fun to play when I have no WiFi. The levels can get hard sometimes but that just makes the game even better. I do HATE the ads but I don’t mind as some of my other games have them too. Overall, love the game keep up the hard work.

Background Issue
by Westfield Owl on 2020/07/04 15:13
I enjoy this puzzle very much and play it every day. However I take exception to the background of some. For example: many times I’ve been unable to complete a puzzle, then I finally see that a white empty square is located directly on top of a cloud! Or a square is on top of snow. The edges of the square are highlighted only when it is the last word. I have played this puzzle for years and intend to keep on, although I notice that I’m being presented with puzzles I have already done.

Been playing this game for up to 3 yrs & cannot get enough of it! It's so addicting, I play it every chance I can. If I get stuck I have hints to help me, which are easily obtainable. There's a new option of playing in team tournaments where we can help each other get a free hint, the game will combine all of our points & if in the top 3 we get tons of coins! It's an awesome game that you'll want to play every free time you get ;-)

As you increase the levels of play, the more difficult it gets to finding the right word within the jumble of five letters. I absolutely love this app because it keeps your brain focused and sharp, and as you continue playing the game in regards to the game’s difficulty, the easier it is to apply this concept in real life situations. Four instance, if you are faced with a difficult decision or not being able to find a solution when you’re a member of a team made up of several other people, playing this game actually allows you to see a solution whereas, previously, you would not have recognized such a solution or several solutions. As well as, t applying this same logic to other situations in your own life I do have one criticism, it’s not specifically about the game, but about the number of people who complain about the ads that are constantly running. Don’t these people realize that those ads allow Want to play this game and download the app both for free! In the early side of the game, I failed to see how the coins that are earned during play benefit you with in the game. It would also be nice to have the different types of hence defined and/or described.
Flawed but addicting
by Aslo White on 2020/02/21 21:24
I admit that I’ve become obsessed with this game despite its flaws. It’s a great way to spend some mindless time. It would be so much better if it had a better and expanded vocabulary. As it is, it doesn’t accept many perfectly legitimate words. One of them is “aqua,” which is particularly ironic given that one of the levels is called “AQUA.” Other non-starters are ware, garret, and fest, along with many more that I could name. And oh, someone needs to tell the developers that CHILE is a proper noun—the name of a country—but CHILI is not. And that LITE is NOT a word! The developers should consult a Scrabble dictionary — or any dictionary, for that matter. It would make for a MUCH better game if it just used Scrabble-approved words minus two-letter words. At least then there would be some rationale for why words are or are not accepted. The other thing that detracts from the game is the fact that levels start to repeat—the same combinations of letters show up multiple times. But hey, for a game with literally thousands of levels, I guess that’s to be expected. There are also a lot of annoying pop-ups asking you for in-app purchases, although these are not necessary to keep playing. One of them — the “piggy bank” — purports to be a reward but is actually nothing more than another opportunity to buy stuff. Despite all this, it’s a relaxing, not-too-challenging time-waster that can provide a pleasant break if you’re into word games.
Can’t Sync Between Devices
by Courtney4367732 on 2020/01/25 14:06
The concept of the game is easy enough... and if you have a decent vocabulary, the game itself is too easy. I’m nearly to level 300 and have barely had to pause to think about it. Definitely not challenging so far. My biggest issue is I can’t sync between my phone and iPad. I contacted customer support and was initially pleased by the quick response. Unfortunately, they keep forwarding my responses to another person, so I’ve spoken to 4 different people even though person 2 explained they’d just do a manual reset or something that never happened. Person 4 goes “Are you trying to sync them to the same FB account?” What??? Why would I be confused about it not going to the correct level if it wasn’t even the same account I was syncing them to?? I finally said never mind because no one from their support team has helped me over the past week and apparently they can’t bother to even read what my complaint was in the first place. Yes, they answer the same day, but every day it’s a new person and you’ll be explaining your problem over and over! And it’s emails! They can’t communicate? So all in all, pretty easy game and decent time killer... just can’t get the game to sync between my phone and iPad. 2 stars because the last two emails I got from them are utterly ridiculous. I paid to remove ads and regret the fact their company got my few dollars.
Great game but... some issues 😅😀
by XgameXcriticX on 2020/05/11 22:21
Here’s the thing this is an awesome game that keeps me occupied on long trips or even just when I’m bored. But eventually I play another game. NOW... don’t get me wrong this is an awesome game/app but... the ADS are super annoying. Every level I pass there is an AD anyone who has not bought the game yet and is reading these reviews take my word for it “ It’s a fun game if you want to get it go ahead but I MUST WARN YOU, be ready to pay like 6 dollars just to remove ads” So... basically it’s great no glitches whatsoever but the ADS are out if control. If you play any game they probably have ads. In This game the ads are out of hand. IT WOULD BE GREAT 😅 if the ads were not taken out because you need them to make $ and stuff but... at least get a developer to suppress them so there is not so many in doing this I see more people playing this game and buying things from the shop kind of like if you have a half off sale you profit less but more people come to buy it because it’s a “ good deal “ so if your a developer reading this great game, too many ads this is my personal opinion 😀😅.
It’s okay...
by Foggyhat on 2019/01/01 16:06
It is an okay app so far. Starts off WAY to easy, but I guess that’s probably so that anyone can play, even young kids. It has far too many 3 letter words for my liking. It probably gets harder eventually, but till that point, it is a bit boring for me. I have two other qualms. The first is that there are legal words that the game doesn’t accept. If you do come up with a word that was not chosen for the crossword, it counts as a “bonus word” (which adds to your total to be able to later use for hints, which is a good idea). However, there are valid words that the game doesn’t accept. I can’t remember all of them right now, but some are “alee” and “luged”. They accepted “luge” just fine, so I have no idea why the past tense in “luged” would be an issue. The other main issue that annoys me is the frequency of the ads. I’ve played other games that have ads before, and I understand that’s how free games supplement their income in order to give us the content in the game. However, the frequency of the ads is the issue in this game. By far the most frequent ads I’ve ever seen. Sometimes have to deal with an ad every two minutes or less, if I finish the crossword quickly, which is ridiculous. At least you can X out of the ads fairly quickly. Still, having ads that often is annoying.
Great, fun, awesome game!
by Cookie Kenna on 2019/01/15 01:17
Wordscapes is very fun and not too addicting, perfect for anytime of the day you might be bored at all, and can help a lot with learning new words! I personally play this game more than I probably should, but ever since I started playing, I haven’t been making many grammar mistakes, so I have indeed shown an improvement in my texts, emails, and essays. Although in this game there are ads, I mean, duh, but they aren’t in the way all the time and getting in the way of the game, so I congratulate the company for that. This game has a very unique design to it too. I love how there are different scenes in the background and they change as you level up. We need more games like that: more colorful, more creative, unique, and not too addictive. This world needs more games with less violence and more fun (I am not saying Fortnite isn’t fun, but I am saying we need to reduce on the violence). For future generations to come, for our kids, for our kids’ kids, we need better games as another option oppose to violent games, so this community can learn to grow and stop becoming “couch potatoes.” Anyway, I really enjoy playing this game, and thank you for not making it too ad-filled. Thanks! Cookie Kenna
Fun game
by Passnthru on 2018/10/28 03:26
Great game challenging, fun and addictive. I would give it more stars but feel it’s not evenly played. My wife has been playing for months and her hints are 50 coins, I’ve been playing a couple months and enjoy the game but the hints on mine are 100 coins, the target hints 200 and rocket blast 300 totally bogus pricing. Before you say she’s at higher score(she is) I have a daughter, granddaughter and soninlaw that all signed up after I did and 2 of them at my recommendation and wait for it...... their hints are 50,100,150 coins. I’m not the only one this has happened to in the support section there are other complaints of the same thing. I sent an email to them with questions about this and I will say they answered rather quickly but with a crazy response of “we’re trying different pricing to see which we decide on.” What I got out of the answer was we think we can gouge some folks on the pricing so when they buy coins they get less benefit for the money they pay. I started with 2 stars but as I wrote this I down graded it go 1. Get your act together and I’ll revisit this review!!!!! Have talked to them thru emails 3 different times and each time it’s the same, ”we’re trying different pricing to see where it levels out, hmmm I wonder if they’ll refund the folks that bought hints and removed ads at the higher prices when they level out, hmmm NOT!!!!!
Very fun, but one thing I want to give advice about...
by Pikachublue21 on 2018/10/02 23:17
So far, this was the best word game I ever played. You can make words to complete puzzles, get coins, or just fiddle around with the letters until you make some words. You can also use the video on the Earn Free Coins section to get 25 coins per vid if u get stuck, but there's one thing I want to advice about.....whatever you do, DO NOT use the surveys to get free coins. When I checked it out I found out that whoever runs this survey thing is really just trying to get a hold of your personal information. Even the 15 question survey is trying to get personal info from people. That's why I did not even complete the 15 question survey and I'm glad I did not summit it. If you want to get free coins, I would recommend you just do the videos for coins and not mess with the offers or the surveys. I don't know what company runs this game but they might have someone like hackers running this survey thing so don't use the survey thing whatever you do or they may get your personal information. Otherwise, this is a really great game.
Misleading
by Paultrgeist on 2019/10/31 19:44
So, in this post-fact world the advert says you’ll learn to read faster and improve your vocabulary. I haven’t seen any evidence that spelling words from a collection of letters helps one read faster. Logic tells me it doesn’t. Perhaps they could cite some studies. My bigger issue is that it’ll improve my vocabulary. That’s hogwash. Central to ALL vocabulary instruction, starting in kindergarten, is definitions. This game does nothing to promote improvement in my usage of the words contained in it. Moreover, the game is all about building words from letters THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW. How does recalling words I’ve seen and used many times before, then provide no definition or context in which said word is used, help my vocabulary skills? I’ve waisted too much time playing this thing, hoping that I’d eventually get to the “lexicon” level which would grant me the amazing fluency and word knowledge advertised. But alas, the game doesn’t appear to have that...it’s basically Boggle that can be played at a banana slug pace. This would be a four star review if they’d at least provide definitions (maybe they do with the paid upgrades?) and actually allow me to practice speed reading. Throw in the parts of speech and you’d have five star reviews all day long.
Kill Time, It’s fun minus a few things
by Ms_Marine09 on 2018/08/10 22:52
It’s a great word game to play, between this and Ruzzle (my favorite), I think the game is pretty fun. I enjoy learning new words and expanding my vocabulary so this helps. The game allows you to guess words without a limit or consequence no matter how many incorrect tries. It also has a built in dictionary so you can look up the definitions of any of the words you find. Cons: You don’t rack up many coins, so you have to be good at guessing or pay for more coins. The hints are so expensive for a game that doesn’t allow you to rake up many coins per round. To earn coins you have to play 16 round to get at most 75 coins. Each round you can earn coins by guessing words that aren’t in the puzzle using the letters given. You get one coin per word; ripoff. I guess it’s a money thing. The hints cost 100, 200, and 300 coins so be mindful of how often you ask for hints, unless you don’t mind buying coins. Some words that are real words, aren’t recognized by the system. Some words you’ve probably never heard of, are definitely a part of the game. So with all that being said, I recommend the game, but it could be better.
Missed Credits on Daily Challenges
by Lauraaapieee on 2019/05/28 12:10
I haven’t seen any other reviews on this so I’m not sure if I’m one of a few that has this problem. I love this game but the problem is with the daily challenges. I’ve played this game for months (possibly a couple years) and always, always do the daily challenges. It’s a ritual I do while eating breakfast. For every so many days you complete, you can get coins and it goes up in increments so that you should (on the months that have 31 days) be able to get the big prize of 500 coins. The problem is there are usually about 2 or 3 days out of the month that it doesn’t give me credit for that therefore insuring I will not get the 500 coins. It always happens!!! It goes to the next screen after I complete the challenge and goes through the sounds and motions but my number/count doesn’t go up one. Super annoying and it’s almost like it does it on purpose so that no one can get the 500 coins so we will be forced to pay for hints since they cost an exorbitant amount to begin with and always run out of money. It’s been bothering me for months so just wanted to complain.
Elegant and fun but could stand to be more rewarding

Very lovely uncluttered layouts and short puzzle times make this a great app for de-stressing and passing time on short bus rides, standing in line, etc. My kids also love it and will beg to "help" me find words if they catch me playing it. A few critiques: you have to do seemingly endless easy puzzles before getting to any remotely challenging ones; I wish they increased the difficulty sooner, maybe based on your solve time. Also not sure what the "brilliance" is about, and there's nothing to use the coins for either. I finished with over 3700 coins, but when I press "shop" the only option is to buy even MORE coins using real money. It's also kind of annoying that it won't accept certain real words for no apparent reason (e.g. girt, purl, cote, hod, coir, trice, creel, cant... and the list goes on). Yet it DOES use a bunch of slang words like blog, pic, toon, etc. What dictionary are they using?! Overall an excellent app, I'll probably go back and redo the upper levels from time to time (fortunately it unsolves them again after you finish).
Tournaments are a joke
by McHellarose on 2019/10/13 05:23
I love this game and play regularly and I had doubts when I read some reviews that said that the tournaments were mainly done by bots, but now I have clearly seen it first hand and those reviews are right!!! I decided to take about a 15-20 minute break from it to go to the store and relax my eyes. When I went back on to play, 2 people had passed me and one of them suddenly had over 2300 points. In the 15-20 minutes I was away from it, someone who wasn’t even in the top ten of players had passed us all with that many points. Now I play this game a lot and I would like to think I am pretty good, but this is complete crap and takes all of the competitive fun out of the game! I even paid to stop the ads and there is no way I could put up 2000 points in 15 minutes. I will not ever spend another dime on this game and feel this is cheating and just downright cheap to do to people that really want to compete and have fun. Not to mention that when you get to higher levels it becomes repetitive. I have done some of the same puzzles 4 times. Did they run out of words?!? Maybe the bots could come up with some to help the developers out! Complete joke competing in the tournaments... don’t even waste your time!
Umm...? Somethings not safe here...
by Maria (please consider) on 2019/11/08 21:49
This game is great!!!! I love it! It would totally be a 10/10 but... Something just is not quite right, if I need coins for a hint... and I don’t have any, I have to pay real money for the coins right? Makes TOTAL sense! But if you decide... “nah I’m not spending my money” the you tap the button to get out of the thingy because you don’t REALLY need coins blah blah blah! Anyway so the a thing pops up every time (just how the game works) and it list three was you can get more coins for FREE!!!!! Well... this is ware the UNSAFE business happens... the 3 ways you can get coins for free that are listed is, 1. Video (totally safe that’s no big deal) 2. Offers (just more videos, or downloading games witch is totally fine) And 3. surveys!!!!! DO NOT TAKE THE SURVEY!!!! It asked me for my age, name, and some other personal info!!! I stoped immediately and made sure it did not go through. Now I’m not saying don’t buy the game!!! It’s a GREAT game!!! The survey is the only bad thing about it. I’m just saying... it might not be bad... but I personally don’t trust that kinda stuff. Anyway this is a amazing game and I can’t stop playing!!! Thank you to anybody that has actually bothered to read this 😂😂😂
Great
by beautifullittlefool on 2018/05/26 10:02
Many words are overused for example you see words were used in multiple puzzles and far too many words that are good words- words that are not overused, are not included in the puzzles. Beautiful backgrounds and a very relaxing game. Kids should not be worse or cost 100 points but it takes 100 extra words not included the crosswords to come up with that many. To clarify what has to come back with 100 words that are not included in the puzzles just to be able to get want to hint at what hit is only one letter at a word either the entire ward that proportion is way off. Yes the same words are used over and over and over again that will be the reason that I stop playing this game. There are billions of words at the English language to use the same words over and over again completely deplete the purpose of the game. But it is a great relaxing way to enjoy a Phone game at all so I do find it addictive. It only needs slight revision. With the game finally finished is there a grand prize? it’s not clear on that.
Love it! Just one little thing
by #PUGSrock on 2020/01/18 00:54
I love Wordscapes it is a great game. I play it for almost a while everyday. I like that there’s wide verities of hints like bees, rockets, normal hints, shuffle, and targets. I have heard some complaints about the ads but I disagree they are not interrupting the game because they only come after a round. I also enjoy getting a prize everyday weather it is a free hint or just coins, it is a great feature. I love that there’s a dictionary space because when I write,I haves wide selection of words to choose from. But there is two little problems. One: when you start the daily puzzle but don’t Finnish it you can’t start the next day. I know that the point of the daily puzzle is to do a new puzzle everyday but maybe you could make a “Resume” button or a “Start a new one” Two: there is a space for ads on the bottom of the word bank, so if my hand slips it brings me right to the App Store. I know that Wordscapes themselves don’t provide the ads but they can at least move the bar. Aside from those problems Wordscapes is a great game, thanks for reading. And a wonderful game!
Fun diversion with flaws
by nlg2642 on 2019/11/07 01:12
I’ve been playing this for some months now and enjoy it when I have a few minutes here and there. I do crosswords as well and it’s fun to look at 6 or 7 letters in any given puzzle and either see immediately the word that uses all of them—or to stare at it blankly wondering how any of those letters combine to make anything. The problem is that any words you make that aren’t in the grid should go into the bonus words. But the dictionary they use for the bonus words is so limited that I have long lists of valid words that are both in the dictionary and in common use that the game rejects. Added to that, they accept very few non-American spellings and non-American English words. I have emailed the developer about my frustration with the game, and they responded but didn’t seem to consider my concerns valid. They also have weekly contests, with point prizes for the top ten scorers. That was fine at first, but the game has so many users now that they should at least double the number of prizes. If the dictionary was improved, I would probably give the game 5 stars, but it’s too frustrating as it is to fully enjoy it.
Fun little game to help kill time, but one flaw
by mr_coldcutts on 2020/04/10 13:38
I’ve been playing this game for a couple months now. It’s a fun way to kill time and even exercise your brain a bit. I do like that it has a feature that lets you easily look up the definition of words that you might not recognize, so it has helped me expand my vocabulary a bit. This also, however, exposes one of the flaws of the game. The one frustrating thing about this game is with what words it will and will not recognize. This fault is not so much with the game itself, but with the dictionary source it uses. It allows a few slang and abbreviated words that I wouldn’t have thought to use. It even allows for some slightly more scientific terms but not others. Most notably, it doesn’t allow for certain words that connote a more recent understanding and sensitivity to LGBTQ populations. Once again, I point this not a flaw of the actual coding, but rather the dictionary base that it uses. Finally, the amount of ads within the game is a bit annoying, but such if the case fit just about any freemium game.
Scam so you are sucked into spending $$$
by Vivvie1 on 2019/07/24 03:11
This is potentially a terrific game which sadly hinges on a player spending tons of money. If you are a ‘wordie’ like I am, you are always looking for brain teasers. The game itself is a good brain teaser. HOWEVER, beware!! As you move up levels you will be enticed to spend money in order to move up in the game. I purchased the $2.99 option which removed adds, thinking I would be free to play the game. NOT SO! I am now stuck having to watch adds, or take a survey if I want to move forward in the game and cannot come up with a particular word. For each Ad or survey you watch, you earn 25 points. 100 points are needed for a letter clue. Another peeve, I know more words than the puzzle itself, so rather than give me the word I know, the puzzle either doesn’t know the word, or pushes it off to the side in a category box for ‘additional words’, where it just languishes. There is no extra win associated with knowing more. All-in-all, this is an extremely frustrating game if you don’t want to spend lots of money to purchase playing time. I hope the developers read this and take to heart that they can’t expect people to pay a fee ($2.99) and then continue to squeeze. For sheer frustration, I rate this game with one star.
A good game

You would think it would be a rip off but it’s not if you want your kid to learn this is the way to go if you want them to learn how to spell and read words download this game it is awesome it deserves a five star rating for do you know I’m helping your child learn stuff so if I think you if you think you’re ready to have your kid do that if they’re ready for half a challenge and the challenge is to download splash math these both will help you I am a kid speaking right now I use flash math and I use Wordscapes I love both of them they’re amazing they help thank you for listening to what I’m saying this is great please check out these two games give it a five star rating and you should like to see the difference The difference is great end it really helps my kid was learning was having so much trouble doing addition addition and she was learning how to do fifth grade mathShe learned how to do that in like five minutes do you want from kindergarten to fifth grade level it was phenomenal thank you
Challenging and fun!
by Savage_tootsie_roll✌️🤟🏻 on 2018/04/25 00:28
I love playing this game to be able to challenge my brain. I also love how if you put a word on the puzzle, you can click it to see the actual definition of the word. The only thing I don’t like is how getting a hint for just one letter in whole puzzle costs 100 coins. Yes, you can get a bunch of coins, and the hints are pretty easy to pay for, but I don’t like how they are so “overpriced” and the fact that you don’t even get to pick which spot to get a hint on makes it more overpriced. But despite this little issue, (which I would love to see changed in a possible next update,) this game is super fun and is just the right amount of challenging. A lot of the time when I am bored in the car, or traveling, or just ya going out in my room, I do use this game as a time killer, which does seem to be helpful to kill time, and it’s super soothing with all the calming slow music, and how the backgrounds on the puzzles are always really pretty pictures and they are really soothing to look at, too. I definitely love this game, and would love to see the one change made to it.
Fun While it Lasts
by Zach Knowledge on 2019/11/14 03:33
After seeing so many different ads for this game, I finally downloaded Wordscapes. The game was a lot more fun to start off than what I thought it would be. The early levels are easy and introduce the crossword mechanic to you so you get familiar with it. As you progress through the levels, the puzzles get harder. To help with the harder puzzles, the game gives you power ups, but I hardly found the need to use them and the money to buy hints was very easy to come across. The game offers a nice variety of backgrounds for all the different levels, so the game as a whole is a peaceful experience that also makes you feel like you are keeping your mind sharp. I do admit though that some charm is lost after 100 levels or so, and I found myself not feeling the urge to keep continuing on. This may be because it is still just the same game mechanic over and over. So the experience is still a fun one but it does lose a bit of appeal after some time. I see a lot of complaints on the ads of the game, but they didn’t bother me an they would only last for 5 seconds usually. A solid game overall.
Good but adds show better please respond to this
by S.Couzens on 2019/03/08 22:19
This is a very nice game with MANY ups and few downs. Though that is why I’m writing this, because of the downs. So first, I don’t see why there is not an easier way to get money besides finding extra words, which tray don’t give you very much money. A second reason I’m writing this is because in the adds it kinda says in different words that this game is a stress reliever, but of course, again, in different words. That’s the problem because sometimes you spend FOREVER trying to figure out JUST ONE word and have no money for a hint which can make you stressed. The third and final flaw to the game is how the adds say how this game makes you smarter but I really don’t see how it does that. So basically, in all, this is a fun game that I play slightly more than a lot of my others and I think it’s good for all ages!(Well, not ages 5 and under because they are kinda stupid and don’t know very many words lol😏)Thank you for this wonderful experience and I hope you make a few improvements. -Sam
Love it, but..... 😬⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love WordScapes but I have some issues, that I would you guys can fix in the next update. I play on an IPad and a IPhone. I have no problems on my IPhone, but instead my IPad. When I got on WordScapes on my IPad, my screen freezes and powers off, but that only happens on WordScapes. I tried almost everything I could think of, such as turning off and on, deleting the app, and restarting my IPad. It still does this problem. My friend plays on her IPad as well, and she doesn’t have a problem with it at all. Please fix this, I’m giving it a 5 star review because I love this game, when I’m on my iPhone, but please fix this problem for the next update, and please decrease the number of ads per minute. Oh and one more thing.... The game board can’t understand some English words that are English, and it’s really frustrating, and can you please fix some bugs and glitches for the next update? Thank you so much, and please text me back if you guys can! Thanks a lot! -

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me. I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb In the shape of an "L" on her forehead. Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running. Didn't make sense not to live for fun. Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb. So much to do, so much to see. So what's wrong with taking the backstreets? You'll never know if you don't go. You'll never shine if you don't glow. Hey now you're an All Star, get your game on, go play. Hey now you're a Rock Star, get the show on, get paid. And all that glitters is gold. Only shooting stars break the mold. It's a cool place, and they say it gets colder. You're bundled up now but wait 'til you get older. But the meteor men beg to differ. Judging by the hole in the satellite picture. The ice we skate is getting pretty thin. The water's getting warm so you might as well swim. My world's on fire, how about yours? That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored.
It’s fine

I really think this game is addictive. It’s a great game but not the best. Honestly I like doing these crossword puzzle stuff. I don’t want to be rude but, there are some bad things about this game. One, too many bonus words. I think it makes the game more challenging because I would have to make a new word. I’m 11 and I don’t know every word in the world! I am on at least level 100. Mostly, when I find a simple word it’s a bonus word! I am not the best at finding new words. Sometimes there are words that I have to find which are words that I don’t know the meaning to. I even have to get my mom to do some of the levels for me! I feel like I am too old for that. All the words I know are just stupid bonus words! Two, when I watch an ad to get more coins, it advertises the same game! It keeps advertising Toon Blast! I feel like I am too old for that game! Please stop advertising Toon Blast all the time. I’m sure there are other great addictive games you can advertise. To be honest, I can get addicted to this game. Overall, great game. 🙂
Soo amazing but...
by peypeypuppylover22 on 2019/07/29 23:51
This game is AMAZING!!! Great game. When I first got this game I didn’t use it often.I didn't give it a chance. But soon I started using it more and let me tell you, I got ADDICTED. There are very few big adds and a bunch of fun levels! Now I got my mom and dad hooked on it too! 😂 I think this app is great but some improvements could be made. First of all there should be more ways to get coins because if you loose all of them it takes weeks to get more. Secondly there are so many little adds at the bottom of the screen that can sometime block off parts of the game but I do understand that putting adds can help make more money for the app. Thirdly (this one isn’t a big one but here we go) I personally wish the background would change every level. Sometimes it gets boring looking at the same background all the time. Other than those few things app is amazing and I would like to thank the creator for making such an amazing app👍❤️🙂
Best of its kind!
by MarieAnnet on 2017/09/28 13:42
There are several word formation games out there and I've tried quite a few. But this one stands out for me, in part for its ease of use when forming the words, and "backtracking" when you realize you're not spelling what you meant. Other apps don't let you undo the word as easily. The circular formation of the letters (rather than linear) also helps your eye find other word possibilities. I find this game to be very addictive, and I marched through the first 22 levels (over 2000 games) in just a few weeks before having to wait for the most recent levels to be released. It’s a good way for some folks to build their vocabulary, I suppose, though some might find it frustrating for that same reason. The only “complaint” I have is that the background scenery is sometimes too light to see the blank space for a letter. I’ve lost count of the times I was trying to make a three-letter word when it was actually four letters.
Fun but...
by ZambotTheShadow on 2019/06/27 19:21
Update: This game was uninstalled at 7am. It is now 2:20pm and the game is STILL using my battery even though it is uninstalled. I haven’t been on my phone other than texting and somehow my phone dropped down to 54% when it was fully charged. So, naturally I look at my battery to see what’s causing to drop so low so fast and it says “uninstalled apps 54%”. I’ve only uninstalled one app today and that was this game this morning. Just warning everyone. DO NOT get this game if you want to save the battery life on your phone. This is a really fun game but in ten minutes my battery dropped from 60% to 32% and my phone got extremely hot. I looked at how much of my battery the app was using and it said 92%!!!! This morning, when I haven’t been on it for over 8 hours, it is still somehow using 62% of my battery. All because I was on it TEN MINUTES last night. This game is obviously meant for iPads or tablets - not phones. It was fun but it shouldn’t do that to my phone in just ten minutes. Also, there were words that they said weren’t really words. Their dictionary needs to be expanded big time. How can this game be about dictionary words and you don’t even have half of them?
Fun and challenging
by DO NOT DOWNLOAD‼️ on 2019/02/21 21:57
I like the simplicity of the game. Make words out of given letters. Words are simple everyday used words, not words that are hardly heard of. It allows you to use coins you earned to help you out if you are stuck. Every so often there’s tournament you can join and enjoy. It is not bombarded by different multiple activities that get you sidetracked from the original game; just enough to allow you opportunities to earn more money that you can use later to help you out. It beats the purpose of sharpening your brain by cheating and you really won’t need to if you play the way it should be played. It’s a “make you feel good” game as you level up. It makes you see how good you really are with words and along the way learn how to actually spell words by trying. Love that it’s not timed either (except for some tournaments you can opt out of playing). Kudos to the developer of the game. It was worth for me paying to take ads out!
What is this app?
by BayGrace325 on 2018/09/03 21:56
I rate this app a 5. I haven’t gotten to the super difficult levels yet, but I thoroughly enjoy Wordscapes. This app has a lot of potential and is fun when you’re bored. I personally love these type of games, and look for good ones when I can. I recommend this game a lot, and hope you enjoy it too! One thing I hope to be added is some more depth to the game. It is very fun, but needs a new outfit every once and a while. If you wear a hat for too long, it gets dirty and weary. Soon it will be worn out and used less. Games are the same way, and it needs some new decoration. Maybe add more rewards, like creating and designing a character. Maybe this character could be used for mini games you win after every level. After every level you could get a ticket, and when you want you could spend the ticket on a mini game. It’s just a thought, not any force to have. Thanks for reading my review, and I hope you put it into consideration!
Great App, just one thing......
by luvpiccollage on 2018/12/25 01:42
First of all, if you are reading this review, thank you for reading it and I hope you find it helpful! Ok, so this app is really great. I’m still going to keep my review 5 stars despite the one flaw I have. The app is great. It’s soothing, especially with the background of dew drops on leaves. It also gets your mind to really think. It makes your mind grow. You’ll find yourself on Level 1 struggling. And then on Level 4 breezing through the Level. One flaw though, is the ads. I’m not saying the amount of ads, I’m saying the type of ads. I’ll be relaxing, exercising my mind on a Level, then, a loud add will pop up. There is a repetitive add of the game Toon Blasts. The game is not at all like soothing WordScapes. It is loud and violent where you have to pop cubes. I’m not critizing the game, it’s a great game, it’s just not at all like WordScapes. Well, that’s it. Overall, amazing game. I highly recommend it.
Money grab
by Mattislegend86 on 2019/11/05 16:06
The game is fun and free, so, it has that going for it. However, it's deeply flawed, at least in my opinion. Words like 'Asia' are not considered words - but 'dale' is considered a word? Okay, I can deal with that. But what I can't support is the obvious "give us your money" scheme. The game operates like a crossword puzzle, so, all of the words are connected to some degree - except the word at the very top that shows up every few levels. Since it's not connected (outside of the crossword), you have no guesses as to what any of the letters may be. So, once you've exhausted your vocabulary, you're still left with this one word before you can proceed to the next level. After spending 10+ minutes, you're tempted to use those valuable tokens you've earned just to get a hint. It's not as big of an issue in the earlier level tiers. However, once you've progressed far enough, it becomes ever more clear that this one word was placed here to convince you to buy more tokens. This breaks the game as you're compelled to use hints. If this were removed, the game would be a solid brain stimulant. But it creates an unfair advantage and the player is handicapped for the sake of greed. 1/5
oddly calming
by emma_loves_cows on 2020/05/13 06:18
I don’t usually write reviews. In fact, anytime an app tells me to rate it I hit that X button so fast. But when the notification popped up on Wordscapes, I clicked it and here we are. It’s really fun and calming. I like to use it to relax before bed so I can sleep. It’s the perfect game for someone like me who can’t seem to shut their brain off. I like that this app takes my overthinking brain and uses it to ruminate over word options instead of daily anxieties. It helps me sleep better and I’m on level four hundred something. My friends make fun of me because I’m like 20 years old and playing vocab games instead of social media lol but I dont care; My whole family plays now too! There’s very few apps on my phone I use daily but I really like this one. I really like the weekend tourneys and the daily puzzles, it’s nice to have the variation and a little competition ya know? So Thanks! Imma go play the daily puzzle now
Great game
by you nicknam wil on 2020/04/26 17:38
I have been playing this game for a while now And I absolutely love it. The new team option lets me play with family members and all the puzzles help me expand my vocabulary but there is something I want to point out. Sometimes for the bonus words I find an extra word that uses 6 letters or 5 but still get the same 1 star that I get for a 3 letter word. It is kind of annoying so in my opinion I think that you should give a certain amount of stars depending on the amount of letters you used on your bonus word because I know it is not easy to win a tournament and you guys know that. I like challenges but it is still a little frustrating to get 1 star for each word you find. I also wouldn’t mind different ads because the same two ads are always popping up after almost every match. Still I am so glad I started playing this game. I totally recommend it.
Battery Drain
by phoebe_buffay on 2019/07/12 03:29
This game is super fun. They use a terrible dictionary, know that before going down this rabbit hole. Very addicting game, such a blast to play. Also, sort of relaxing. HOWEVER——this is the WORST battery drain I have literally ever seen! Plus data sucker! A lot of the other poor reviews state the ads, which do become frequent, depending on the speed you play. There is an ad after Every. Single. Game. So, if you breeze through the game, there is an ad. You spend 30 seconds on the game then watch a 30 second commercial. And there are about 5 different ads they cycle through, that’s it. My biggest gripe, though, is how quickly this will drain your battery. It gets very warm, very fast. 20 minutes of playing (if you have a full battery) and it is hot! There is a tournament on the weekends, but you cannot play as often as you would like because of the instadrain. I can play this once or twice a day for a few minutes. I don’t like having to constantly watch the time and battery level while playing. So, so sad because I will most likely end up deleting.
Highly addictive!
by Wordygirlie on 2018/02/06 20:57
I really enjoy this game, and have spent many hours playing. It’s beautifully designed and the crossword layout is an inspired addition for visual clues in finding the words. I also appreciate that the game isn’t timed, so I can do other things while I ponder my options. I do get frustrated, however, when words aren’t accepted that should be (among them: alar, alee, cant, coir, doge, ewer, fest, lei, lira, moa, nene, purl, roc, scree, steed, stet, tony, and trice). Sometimes the game accepts the singular but not the plural of a word (or vice versa)—isms but not ism, luge but not luges or luger. And I’ve occasionally had a word accepted that isn’t actually a word—baw, blar and poon—when I stopped in the middle of trying to spell something else. These aren’t terrible flaws, by any means, and I mention them only in hopes that the developer tweaks things to make an already great game even better. While they’re at it, maybe adding some explanation of “brilliance” points and other aspects of the game would also be beneficial. Enjoy!
What do you mean, “money grab”?
by neostryder on 2019/02/07 04:48
I have been playing this game for a few months now, and am pushing level 900. It boggles my mind to think that there are still easily 5 times that many levels ahead of me! Early on, I got sick of the ads and opted to shoot the developers a couple of bucks to remove the ads. To this day, that is all I have spent on it. For the price of an energy drink, which I buy and drink and it’s gone, I have been enjoying this almost daily for months. I can’t fathom the people who rate a game like this low, calling it a money grab! I rarely spend this much time with $60 console games! When you pick up your paycheck, does your boss think that it’s a money grab because you expect to be paid for your work? This game is very well-made, and very much deserving of the profit it generates for the people who spent thousands of hours developing something fun for you to play! Thank you, guys!
Love this game!
by Exinanition on 2020/06/22 15:10
I’ve been playing this game now for about a year. I play at random during the week just to keep in practice for the tournaments. I am not trying to brag, however, I’ve won every tournament I’ve had the time to play. Some tournaments I have not had a lot of competition. And in some tournaments I have been in the race for my life! There are some pretty brilliant people out there. Two weeks ago I hit my highest score ever with over 18,000 points. The lady who was competing against me for first place also ended the tournament with over 18,000 points! It was the most amazing thing I have seen in any of their tournaments so far. I do not know who the lady was, however, she gave me the most wonderful tournament I have ever played! Congratulations to her. I have read a lot of the reviews on here and I have read a lot of complaints. I honestly have to say I have no complaints whatsoever.
Good concept
by Writerinfact on 2019/10/27 20:52
Not so great execution. It’s bad enough that the “videos” one must watch in order to get points (coins?) to buy hints are anything but random (when I hit 20 consecutive views of the same obnoxious game, I quit counting), but to sit through one and tap to get another only to be told that there are no videos available is, well, adding insult to injury. I also question the validity of some of the words; I have played Scrabble for years and am accustomed to stricter rules than Wordscapes apparently applies. Fix the video issues and I may update the review. Update: Video issues are, well, different. More instances of “no video available” and (new one) after video, screen freezes BEFORE awarding coins, and game must be exited in order to unfreeze, losing earned coins. Plus, you have to open a different app before coming back to try again to earn coins. Sometimes you get a video before getting “no video available” and sometimes you don’t. Sorry, the issues outweigh the “pleasure” of playing this game. At level 512, I will not be playing any more.
Addictive, But Buggy and a Power Hog
by OkiFedora on 2019/07/18 17:45
Well designed from a game-play aspect. I enjoy word puzzles and this one is great. Good tutorial to introduce you to the game and new additions as you play through levels. Two issues I have with it... First, it’s a bit buggy. I get crashes once in a while that take me out of the game. Twice (over a few hours of play) it locked up and I had to close and restart the app. It’s not too often and it recovers quickly with no loss of play. Secondly, it eats battery. Not a good app on the go if you don’t have constant power. My battery lasts all day with normal use, but while playing this game, I’m losing about 30% an hour. It might help to have an option to shut off game animations and background scenery animations, but there’s not an option currently. The ads do get annoying, but the full cost of $2.99 solves that and I’m certainly not against an app maker getting paid. If you don’t like the ads, buy the game. (Tip: wait for a pop up during the game offering a special deal to get rid of the ads and get coins. It’s a pretty good deal.) Overall, very fun and addictive game. If you’re ok with a few minor crashes once in a while, and you have a charger nearby, you’ll enjoy this. Update: after paying to remove ads, the crashing has stopped and the battery draining is a bit less. I’m assuming the ads account for both. Changing from 3 to 4 stars.
Increase Rewards
by Erameline on 2019/03/28 05:18
Look, I know you guys want people to buy coins, but as long as there are websites that solve anagrams you’re not getting any money from me (aside from the $3 or whatever to never show ads again— that was well worth it for my sanity). But sometimes I’m too lazy to flip over to a new browser tab, right, so I want to use some coins. The problem is that the way you earn said coins is impossibly slow, and the items you use them on are way too expensive. The solution? Add more weight to harder words. If a word announces “great!” or “excellent!” when I get it, maybe it should be worth two or three stars. Or maybe the higher the level, the more weight to the words. Not even just for the sake of coins, but maybe to let me feel like I’ve accomplished something after being 1000+ games in. Other than that, relentlessly addicting and great at making me feel like a dang idiot when my brain just refuses to cooperate. Four stars.
Addictive and frustrating
by KritterKLU on 2018/08/23 14:54
Players are given a set of letters with which they are supposed to fill in the crossword squares. There are multiple sets per level and each level gets more difficult as letters are added (level one starts with three letters, the next level four letters, and so on). It’s a good game for working your brain but at the same time is relaxing due to there not being a time limit on how long you take finishing the crossword. It’s quite addictive. My one complaint is about the “coins” rewarded. Coins are earned from creating bonus words that are not on the crossword and by finishing an entire level. They can be used to “purchase” hints, which cost 100 coins each. At the rate coins can be earned, that’s a pretty steep price. I’d like to see the coin value increase along with the difficulty level. As it is, I feel like I’m being pressured to actually spend money on virtual coins just so I can get a hint when I get stuck. I’d rather delete my “free” game than repeatedly spend real money for hints.
Could be addicting if...
by Cputz on 2018/07/22 11:52
I love word games and downloaded this game because of the high reviews. The game itself is a great game. Challenging, but not to the point where you want to give up. I love the backgrounds. They change with every level you advance. If I were to rate the game alone, it would probably get 4-5 stars. The developers did a great job with the game itself, but they allow way too many ads. Expect to see an ad every time you open the game and before playing a puzzle. Ads are so frequent that it is extremely difficult to keep your focus and concentration from one puzzle to the next. On the FAQ page, the developers say that it costs a lot of money to develop the game, which is why there are ads. I understand that, but I’ve never seen a game with so many ads. I could remove ads by paying $2.99, but why do that when there are other word games that have less ads and cost less to remove the ads? The developers need to come up with a better balance of game time and ads.
A connection with my family
by Hawk ❤️ #1 on 2019/10/05 02:43
My mom isn’t vulnerable, she rarely EVER visits the App Store. But she’s really good at finding words and stuff with words. She found this game, it somehow bonded our family..she had me on it and we were figuring out these together, of course now she’s on lvl 400+ lol not joking. Then my dad started playing, now we can relate to something!!! And it doesn’t end there!! I can also relate to friends that secretly play it(eh not the bast move to tell the whole school that you play a word game) all of us have something to relate to. But I think that if the devs of this game would make a word search out of it like Wordscapes then my fam and friends would have a lot more to talk about..Let’s just say that my friend and mom is OBSESSED with word searches it get annoying after a time =.= Just consider it, I know making an app is hard but it’s totally worth it - Hawklover
Nice With Faults
by notrich63 on 2020/02/16 14:12
Really enjoyed this game so I purchased to get rid of the ads (not cheap as game apps go). However there are still pop-up in-game ads to buy tokens and such. An ad is an ad, so you’re not getting an entirely ad free game here. Also, they’ve not kept up the supply of games (ie. ran out of puzzles, tiles, etc.) so until they decide to replenish with more this app is just taking up space. If this were a .99 cent game there wouldn’t be much to complain about because the game works fine and is crash free. UPDATE Feb 2020 The developers fixed the issue with running out of games/tiles, but now it has a bug that burns a 300 point rocket clue sporadically and unprompted. I’ve had this occur several times, and have contacted the developer about it. First they said they were working on it. When it happened again several updates later they ignored my inquiry altogether. It takes many hours to accumulate 300 points and for those of us who are power players those 300 points are valuable. If losing hard earned points doesn’t matter then buy the game.
EDITED: Now 1 Star
by tamon14 on 2018/12/24 09:41
I loved this game when I first found it! It was one of the few games I have where I left the free version and chose to pay because it was so much fun. Then I updated to the latest version and it’s awful. It reminds me of the free, ad-laden one. Too many pop ups asking if you want to pay for bees, too many things that fill in letters for you, etc. It’s way too cluttered now. Give us the option to turn those off since we already paid for the game. I’m never going to pay for the bees, so at least let me disable that. It’s yet another example of them trying to “fix” something that wasn’t broken. EDIT: I came back to change my review to 1 star. It was a great game so after trying the demo I purchased it to get rid of the annoying popups. Well, after a few updates I’m getting popups again. The ads we’re just replaced with offers to buy “help”. A popup is a popup. I’m NEVER buying “Tips”, but I can’t disable that, even though it’s the PAID version. Move on to something that doesn’t keep asking for your money with popups AFTER you bought the paid version to get rid of them.
Absolutely beautiful game!
by KalosKagathos on 2018/09/30 17:31
I won’t repeat everything so many have said, except to say that, in terms of overall design and graphics, Wordscapes is truly the most aesthetically pleasing game to play. The background images are simply spectacular. I only wish—and this is my 1st suggestion—that we players could somehow copy or download them (even if it meant paying a small fee for them!). The only reason I give the game 4 stars is b/c—and this is my 2nd suggestion—I really wish the puzzles became significantly more challenging, say, at least when you reach the really high levels. (As of this writing, I’ve finished all levels.) In other words, there are some very dedicated players who will keep finishing all the levels fairly quickly as new levels are (slowly!) added, so it would help to add levels that take significantly longer to finish. Hope that makes sense. Fyi, I nonetheless see my rating as a 4.8. :-) This is a must-have word game for sure!
So far, I enjoy!
by LadyBereness (SUDAN) on 2018/11/19 07:40
I’m assuming as you level up each puzzle will become more challenging. Great for Great Grandmothers such as myself. I believe it’s great to keep our mind sharp and for younger players it will help them with correct spelling as wr as learning new vocabulary words! Please excuse any typos. I have Multiple Sclerosis and totally blind in my left eye. I play this on my phone so it’s been fun. Just worried as zi ho along if the letters become too small it may be hard for me to see. I’ll have to see if I can also play on my IPad without having to start over. My apologies for such a lengthy post. Have fun with this; keep your mind sharp, share with any little ones learning to spell & discovering new words! Even young adults can benefit as this is just another fun way to keeping your brain active. I’ve learned over the years, that old saying remains true: “If you don’t use it you’ll lose it” ❣️

I really enjoy this game. But the pig needs to go he's full and bouncing all my coins into space.also it's repeating the same words over and over .Im at 5000 something and I thought the higher you got it would be more challenging. But my BIG complaint is I haven't been able to play since yesterday. Every time I open to play it shuts down I keep trying and it keeps shutting down please fix this ASAP I need to play it keeps me occupied. Especially now with having to stay home to keep from getting Corvid19. So please fix it. Sincerely Terilou

Fun game

Elegant and fun but could stand to be more rewarding
by Staticandbanal on 2017/09/20 05:11
Very lovely uncluttered layouts and short puzzle times make this a great app for de-stressing and passing time on short bus rides, standing in line, etc.
