Too soon to tell but promising.

I’m a few rounds into the game and I’ve been asked to rate. It’s a fun game, a decent amount of ads but gameplay is enjoyable thus far. Eager to play a bit more to find out of this is worth the cost to pay for ad free.

I don’t know what dictionary is used to "shake" off different words, but it is sadly lacking. It refuses perfectly acceptable words that anyone with a decent vocabulary would know. I understand that it may not be usable in that particular puzzle, but it should be acceptable for extra points. If the ads weren’t so expensive to get rid of and you used a decent dictionary I would definitely give this game 5 stars. It’s totally addictive!

These games should tell you more about them. I might would buy a package if I knew more of what they do. But, then again I’m addicted to this game.

Priced too high to remove adds
by Levans8371 on 2018/09/29 02:59
I have played the first 30 levels and have enjoyed the quick pace and distraction at lunch on my phone. Looking forward to harder challenges. However, there are too many ads and the cost is too high to get rid of them. The ads didn’t bother at first as most are short, but then they come so often it became annoying. Maybe if the levels get harder and take longer this won’t be a problem as they seem to come between every few levels. I realize the developer is trying to earn money and I can’t expect everything for free. Since I was enjoying the game, and there appear to be a lot of levels, I did not mind paying $2.99 to get rid of the ads. This was a sale price with the sale running for 24 hours. Here is where you went too far. I decided to play more on my iPad after work. My progress doesn’t transfer devices, but I’m Ok with repeating the levels. However, the money I paid to remove the ads also did not transfer. I went back into the store to discover the sale price was now $5.99, during the same 24 hour period! I will not pay more for a second device. Because you already have my money, I will continue the game on my phone. Here is a lesson for the developer. I probably would have paid a standard rate of $1.99 per device giving you $3.98 and a high rating without a thought. I’m guessing you would have more people willing to pay the smaller fee to eliminate ads and make more money than you currently get charging more.
Excellent game but 1 big issue...
by Cozy burger on 2017/09/12 03:59
Excellent game! It keeps my mind sharp and I love the daily challenges. In my opinion the ads are not bad at all! I get maybe 2 in 3 hours of playing. Unlike some games where there's 1 ad every 30 seconds, this one isn't bad at. The one BIG issue I have is that the game often won't recognize words that are real English words. The problem with that is you get a coin for every "extra" word you find that is not in the puzzle and you can then use the coins to get hints if you're ever stuck. Based on the amount of extra words I've found (that are real words and the game just didn't recognize them) I should easily have at least triple the amount of coins I actually have. Not to mention it starts to get frustrating when you find words that you've used in previous levels of this exact game, or in other word games and you're not getting the credit for it. Even more frustrating is when the game will recognize a plural/singular tense of a word, but not the opposite. For example, "urge" and "urges" the game recognized one, but not the other. The reason I stop playing every time is because I get so frustrated finding words that the game doesn't think count. If this issue were fixed, the game would be absolutely perfect in my opinion.
troubling advertisements
by The Masked Dolphin on 2017/12/29 23:06
hello, I downloaded this application in the hopes of finding some nice, calming mental stimulation over my Christmas holiday. The dew drops and mountain scenes in the background really add to that; this game is, overall, quite soothing. It's like beachfront yoga for the mind. HOWEVER, I was troubled to find two recurrent advertisements throughout the application. The first is for a game called "Toon Blast" with the caption "blast the cubes." Now, I understand how some children may find this entertaining; but I am quite appalled that the Wordscapes company found that an appropriate accompaniment to my soothing afternoon playing with word puzzles -- BLASTing??? My, this is troubling to say the least. The other advert is quite alarming, as it shows a scene of an elderly couple waking their adult child and saying, "quick! we must leave -- we sold the house!" Now, this is a lot of panic to set upon my calm mind. This boy now has to renovate a house??? On a moment's notice??? And why is he living with his elderly parents?? He looks quite old. I do not appreciate being reminded of the burden children have eternally on their parents lives while I'm playing Wordscapes. Overall, great game, however I may have to stop playing if these troubling adverts don't end soon because I cannot remain calm.
Overall, Great game.
by ExtraExtraReadAllAboutIt on 2018/11/11 06:30
It’s simple to play, but gradually increases in difficulty at a pleasant pace. Each tier will require several new words than the previous, as you fly through each word puzzle. And with over 4,000 levels, there’s enough variety in the required words, to keep the game interesting. All while allowing the player to expand their everyday vocabulary. There are options to help if you become stuck on a puzzle, but you will need to spend the in game currency for these boosts. You can earn the coin currency at a steady pace by completing the puzzles, and placing high in tournament ranks can help tremendously. There’s also an option to buy the in game currency through secured in app purchases if the player desires to do so. With this being a free to play and free downloadable app, there are a decent amount of advertisements within the app. However, there’s even an option to remove all advertisements with a one time, in app purchase that helps to support the development team. In conclusion, this is easily a 5 star game, in my opinion, and excellent for passing the time while allowing you to exercise your mind. Would recommend. 👍🏻
It’s okay...
by Foggyhat on 2019/01/01 16:06
It is an okay app so far. Starts off WAY to easy, but I guess that’s probably so that anyone can play, even young kids. It has far too many 3 letter words for my liking. It probably gets harder eventually, but till that point, it is a bit boring for me. I have two other qualms. The first is that there are legal words that the game doesn’t accept. If you do come up with a word that was not chosen for the crossword, it counts as a “bonus word” (which adds to your total to be able to later use for hints, which is a good idea). However, there are valid words that the game doesn’t accept. I can’t remember all of them right now, but some are “alee” and “luged”. They accepted “luge” just fine, so I have no idea why the past tense in “luged” would be an issue. The other main issue that annoys me is the frequency of the ads. I’ve played other games that have ads before, and I understand that’s how free games supplement their income in order to give us the content in the game. However, the frequency of the ads is the issue in this game. By far the most frequent ads I’ve ever seen. Sometimes have to deal with an ad every two minutes or less, if I finish the crossword quickly, which is ridiculous. At least you can X out of the ads fairly quickly. Still, having ads that often is annoying.
Great, fun, awesome game!
by Cookie Kenna on 2019/01/15 01:17
Wordscapes is very fun and not too addicting, perfect for anytime of the day you might be bored at all, and can help a lot with learning new words! I personally play this game more than I probably should, but ever since I started playing, I haven’t been making many grammar mistakes, so I have indeed shown an improvement in my texts, emails, and essays. Although in this game there are ads, I mean, duh, but they aren’t in the way all the time and getting in the way of the game, so I congratulate the company for that. This game has a very unique design to it too. I love how there are different scenes in the background and they change as you level up. We need more games like that: more colorful, more creative, unique, and not too addictive. This world needs more games with less violence and more fun (I am not saying Fortnite isn’t fun, but I am saying we need to reduce on the violence). For future generations to come, for our kids, for our kids’ kids, we need better games as another option oppose to violent games, so this community can learn to grow and stop becoming “couch potatoes.” Anyway, I really enjoy playing this game, and thank you for not making it too ad-filled. Thanks! Cookie Kenna
Fun game
by Passnthru on 2018/10/28 03:26
Great game challenging, fun and addictive. I would give it more stars but feel it’s not evenly played. My wife has been playing for months and her hints are 50 coins, I’ve been playing a couple months and enjoy the game but the hints on mine are 100 coins, the target hints 200 and rocket blast 300 totally bogus pricing. Before you say she’s at higher score(she is) I have a daughter, granddaughter and soninlaw that all signed up after I did and 2 of them at my recommendation and wait for it...... their hints are 50,100,150 coins. I’m not the only one this has happened to in the support section there are other complaints of the same thing. I sent an email to them with questions about this and I will say they answered rather quickly but with a crazy response of “we’re trying different pricing to see which we decide on.” What I got out of the answer was we think we can gouge some folks on the pricing so when they buy coins they get less benefit for the money they pay. I started with 2 stars but as I wrote this I down graded it go 1. Get your act together and I’ll revisit this review!!!!! Have talked to them thru emails 3 different times and each time it’s the same, ”we’re trying different pricing to see where it levels out, hmmm I wonder if they’ll refund the folks that bought hints and removed ads at the higher prices when they level out, hmmm NOT!!!!!
Kill Time, It’s fun minus a few things
by Ms_Marine09 on 2018/08/10 22:52
It’s a great word game to play, between this and Ruzzle (my favorite), I think the game is pretty fun. I enjoy learning new words and expanding my vocabulary so this helps. The game allows you to guess words without a limit or consequence no matter how many incorrect tries. It also has a built in dictionary so you can look up the definitions of any of the words you find. Cons: You don’t rack up many coins, so you have to be good at guessing or pay for more coins. The hints are so expensive for a game that doesn’t allow you to rake up many coins per round. To earn coins you have to play 16 round to get at most 75 coins. Each round you can earn coins by guessing words that aren’t in the puzzle using the letters given. You get one coin per word; ripoff. I guess it’s a money thing. The hints cost 100, 200, and 300 coins so be mindful of how often you ask for hints, unless you don’t mind buying coins. Some words that are real words, aren’t recognized by the system. Some words you’ve probably never heard of, are definitely a part of the game. So with all that being said, I recommend the game, but it could be better.
Best of all the word games
by AlectricZap on 2017/12/18 17:48
Great format. The way getting words ends up giving hints for remaining words keeps the momentum going, so the experience stays fun and is rarely frustrating. If you do ever get stuck, you can buy a hint for a reasonable number of coins, which you earn at a decent rate by playing through the game, as well as with daily gifts and puzzles. Speaking of which, the daily puzzles keep your interest fresh and provide a fun twist on the format. Best of all, this game doesn’t trip you up with obscure words you’ve never heard of. Almost all of the words you have to spell are commonly recognized, and if you do happen to find any words the puzzle doesn’t use, you’re rewarded with bonus coins. This game provides an incredible number of puzzles to progress through, along with daily puzzles, all for free, only having to bear an ad every couple of puzzles. This app was very well designed. There are a lot of similar games out there, and you probably wouldn’t enjoy the overlap of having more than one, so I recommend this being the one you go with, because I really believe it’s the best one.
Very fun, but one thing I want to give advice about...
by Pikachublue21 on 2018/10/02 23:17
So far, this was the best word game I ever played. You can make words to complete puzzles, get coins, or just fiddle around with the letters until you make some words. You can also use the video on the Earn Free Coins section to get 25 coins per vid if u get stuck, but there's one thing I want to advice about.....whatever you do, DO NOT use the surveys to get free coins. When I checked it out I found out that whoever runs this survey thing is really just trying to get a hold of your personal information. Even the 15 question survey is trying to get personal info from people. That's why I did not even complete the 15 question survey and I'm glad I did not summit it. If you want to get free coins, I would recommend you just do the videos for coins and not mess with the offers or the surveys. I don't know what company runs this game but they might have someone like hackers running this survey thing so don't use the survey thing whatever you do or they may get your personal information. Otherwise, this is a really great game.
Elegant and fun but could stand to be more rewarding
by Staticandbanal on 2017/09/20 05:11
Very lovely uncluttered layouts and short puzzle times make this a great app for de-stressing and passing time on short bus rides, standing in line, etc. My kids also love it and will beg to "help" me find words if they catch me playing it. A few critiques: you have to do seemingly endless easy puzzles before getting to any remotely challenging ones; I wish they increased the difficulty sooner, maybe based on your solve time. Also not sure what the "brilliance" is about, and there's nothing to use the coins for either. I finished with over 3700 coins, but when I press "shop" the only option is to buy even MORE coins using real money. It's also kind of annoying that it won't accept certain real words for no apparent reason (e.g. girt, purl, cote, hod, coir, trice, creel, cant... and the list goes on). Yet it DOES use a bunch of slang words like blog, pic, toon, etc. What dictionary are they using?! Overall an excellent app, I'll probably go back and redo the upper levels from time to time (fortunately it unsolves them again after you finish).
Great

Many words are overused for example you see words were used in multiple puzzles and far too many words that are good words- words that are not overused, are not included in the puzzles. Beautiful backgrounds and a very relaxing game. Kids should not be worse or cost 100 points but it takes 100 extra words not included the crosswords to come up with that many. To clarify what has to come back with 100 words that are not included in the puzzles just to be able to get want to hint at what hit is only one letter at a word either the entire ward that proportion is way off. Yes the same words are used over and over and over again that will be the reason that I stop playing this game. There are billions of words at the English language to use the same words over and over again completely deplete the purpose of the game. But it is a great relaxing way to enjoy a Phone game at all so I do find it addictive. It only needs slight revision. With the game finally finished is there a grand prize? it’s not clear on that.
Challenging and fun!

I love playing this game to be able to challenge my brain. I also love how if you put a word on the puzzle, you can click it to see the actual definition of the word. The only thing I don’t like is how getting a hint for just one letter in whole puzzle costs 100 coins. Yes, you can get a bunch of coins, and the hints are pretty easy to pay for, but I don’t like how they are so “overpriced” and the fact that you don’t even get to pick which spot to get a hint on makes it more overpriced. But despite this little issue, (which I would love to see changed in a possible next update,) this game is super fun and is just the right amount of challenging. A lot of the time when I am bored in the car, or traveling, or just ya going out in my room, I do use this game as a time killer, which does seem to be helpful to kill time, and it’s super soothing with all the calming slow music, and how the backgrounds on the puzzles are always really pretty pictures and they are really soothing to look at, too. I definitely love this game, and would love to see the one change made to it.
Fun Game but no Support
by Grandpa Joe A on 2018/11/13 15:26
First of all, the age to play is listed 4+. There is absolutely no way a child of even 10 can play. When almost every board (game) requires you to find a 7 letter word from 7 jumbled letters. In order to complete a level one must complete 16 boards. Upon completing a level you win 25 coins. But if you need a hint in one or more boards it costs you a minimum of 100 coins each. You can see yourself running out of coins quickly. That is when you have to buy coins from PeopleFun for real cash. I am sure the game is a real money maker for them. Secondly, there is no support. You can earn bonus coins by playing the daily board and winning butterflies. Win a certain amount of butterflies and get the bonus coins. However, in playing the game, no matter how many butterflies I win, I only get credit for 3. Needless to say, that makes it difficult if not impossible to collect bonus coins. The count resets every month so the most you can win is 93 butterflies. To collect some bonuses requires 120 or more. I have written to PeopleFun 2 times about this. Each time I have received a reply saying they received my complaint. Then nothing happens. To sum up, when I run out of coins I will delete this game. Mainly because of their lack of caring.
Money grab
by Mattislegend86 on 2018/11/18 16:13
The game is fun and free, so, it has that going for it. However, it's deeply flawed, at least in my opinion. Words like 'Asia' are not considered words - but 'dale' is considered a word? Okay, I can deal with that. But what I can't support is the obvious "give us your money" scheme. The game operates like a crossword puzzle, so, all of the words are connected to some degree - except the word at the very top that shows up every few levels. Since it's not connected (outside of the crossword), you have no guesses as to what any of the letters may be. So, once you've exhausted your vocabulary, you're still left with this one word before you can proceed to the next level. After spending 10+ minutes, you're tempted to use those valuable tokens you've earned just to get a hint. It's not as big of an issue in the earlier level tiers. However, once you've progressed far enough, it becomes ever more clear that this one word was placed here to convince you to buy more tokens. This breaks the game as you're compelled to use hints. If this were removed, the game would be a solid brain stimulant. But it creates an unfair advantage and the player is handicapped for the sake of greed. 2/5

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me. I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb In the shape of an "L" on her forehead. Well, the years start coming and they don't stop coming Fed to the rules and I hit the ground running. Didn't make sense not to live for fun. Your brain gets smart but your head gets dumb. So much to do, so much to see. So what's wrong with taking the backstreets? You'll never know if you don't go. You'll never shine if you don't glow. Hey now you're an All Star, get your game on, go play. Hey now you're a Rock Star, get the show on, get paid. And all that glitters is gold. Only shooting stars break the mold. It's a cool place, and they say it gets colder. You're bundled up now but wait 'til you get older. But the meteor men beg to differ. Judging by the hole in the satellite picture. The ice we skate is getting pretty thin. The water's getting warm so you might as well swim. My world's on fire, how about yours? That's the way I like it and I'll never get bored.
What is this app?
by BayGrace325 on 2018/09/03 21:56
I rate this app a 5. I haven’t gotten to the super difficult levels yet, but I thoroughly enjoy Wordscapes. This app has a lot of potential and is fun when you’re bored. I personally love these type of games, and look for good ones when I can. I recommend this game a lot, and hope you enjoy it too! One thing I hope to be added is some more depth to the game. It is very fun, but needs a new outfit every once and a while. If you wear a hat for too long, it gets dirty and weary. Soon it will be worn out and used less. Games are the same way, and it needs some new decoration. Maybe add more rewards, like creating and designing a character. Maybe this character could be used for mini games you win after every level. After every level you could get a ticket, and when you want you could spend the ticket on a mini game. It’s just a thought, not any force to have. Thanks for reading my review, and I hope you put it into consideration!
Best of its kind!
by MarieAnnet on 2017/09/28 13:42
There are several word formation games out there and I've tried quite a few. But this one stands out for me, in part for its ease of use when forming the words, and "backtracking" when you realize you're not spelling what you meant. Other apps don't let you undo the word as easily. The circular formation of the letters (rather than linear) also helps your eye find other word possibilities. I find this game to be very addictive, and I marched through the first 22 levels (over 2000 games) in just a few weeks before having to wait for the most recent levels to be released. It’s a good way for some folks to build their vocabulary, I suppose, though some might find it frustrating for that same reason. The only “complaint” I have is that the background scenery is sometimes too light to see the blank space for a letter. I’ve lost count of the times I was trying to make a three-letter word when it was actually four letters.
Limited word knowledge
by Racedandlost on 2018/12/05 00:59
Puzzles are decent. Adds are annoying, like any app. After playing this for a few weeks, reaching level 800+, I’ve noticed several times I enter a word that IS VALID, but the game won’t accept it - even as a bonus word. Yet, it will recognize odd words that are not common in the English language. Can’t recall any as an example, but when the word is clicked to see the definition, it is of foreign or ancient origin. Nice to learn new words, but it should know every word combination possible from the letters provided. Hence, my 4 star review. Should be 3.5 stars. Also, if you don’t know the meaning of a word, don’t make it the last word entered into the puzzle- Because, after the final word is entered, the screen clears and does not provide the player an opportunity to look up the meaning of the last word. Here’s a prime example. Take the letters. F H C I E Y L. It doesn’t know chiel, chyle, fiche ... ceil, elhi, fley, flic, fyce, heil, lech, lich, lief, lych, yech. ....... then there is TAU. 19th letter of Greek alphabet, is the first definition. Right
Great App, just one thing......
by luvpiccollage on 2018/12/25 01:42
First of all, if you are reading this review, thank you for reading it and I hope you find it helpful! Ok, so this app is really great. I’m still going to keep my review 5 stars despite the one flaw I have. The app is great. It’s soothing, especially with the background of dew drops on leaves. It also gets your mind to really think. It makes your mind grow. You’ll find yourself on Level 1 struggling. And then on Level 4 breezing through the Level. One flaw though, is the ads. I’m not saying the amount of ads, I’m saying the type of ads. I’ll be relaxing, exercising my mind on a Level, then, a loud add will pop up. There is a repetitive add of the game Toon Blasts. The game is not at all like soothing WordScapes. It is loud and violent where you have to pop cubes. I’m not critizing the game, it’s a great game, it’s just not at all like WordScapes. Well, that’s it. Overall, amazing game. I highly recommend it.
Highly addictive!
by Wordygirlie on 2018/02/06 20:57
I really enjoy this game, and have spent many hours playing. It’s beautifully designed and the crossword layout is an inspired addition for visual clues in finding the words. I also appreciate that the game isn’t timed, so I can do other things while I ponder my options. I do get frustrated, however, when words aren’t accepted that should be (among them: alar, alee, cant, coir, doge, ewer, fest, lei, lira, moa, nene, purl, roc, scree, steed, stet, tony, and trice). Sometimes the game accepts the singular but not the plural of a word (or vice versa)—isms but not ism, luge but not luges or luger. And I’ve occasionally had a word accepted that isn’t actually a word—baw, blar and poon—when I stopped in the middle of trying to spell something else. These aren’t terrible flaws, by any means, and I mention them only in hopes that the developer tweaks things to make an already great game even better. While they’re at it, maybe adding some explanation of “brilliance” points and other aspects of the game would also be beneficial. Enjoy!
Mrs. Sallie Martin Most friends call me Sassy!
by Sassy-S-T on 2018/08/12 03:40
I will be very sassy as I ask how will asI ever get any sleep with this app on my iPad? So far I have no real complaints. I’ve disagreed with a fair number of words you wouldn’t accept & I am a history-English summa c.l. BA. but that does worry me as I see the disagreements growing as I go on. Just be ready when I get my sass up! But for a very real “review” I must tell you that I think this is the best-organized, best-technical app I have ever tried. I do not understand those folks who complained about it going down, losing entries or whatever. That’s all I can say about them. To the people who are Wordscapes: just keep up the great work & increasing that vocabulary of seldom heard-of words. Thanks for something that might have been created just for me. (And my son, who is one of us, too!) Same still true! I lose a lot of millionaire-chasing time with you guys. But I’m not changing, wouldn’t win anyway!
What do you mean, “money grab”?
by neostryder on 2019/02/07 04:48
I have been playing this game for a few months now, and am pushing level 900. It boggles my mind to think that there are still easily 5 times that many levels ahead of me! Early on, I got sick of the ads and opted to shoot the developers a couple of bucks to remove the ads. To this day, that is all I have spent on it. For the price of an energy drink, which I buy and drink and it’s gone, I have been enjoying this almost daily for months. I can’t fathom the people who rate a game like this low, calling it a money grab! I rarely spend this much time with $60 console games! When you pick up your paycheck, does your boss think that it’s a money grab because you expect to be paid for your work? This game is very well-made, and very much deserving of the profit it generates for the people who spent thousands of hours developing something fun for you to play! Thank you, guys!
Addictive and frustrating
by KritterKLU on 2018/08/23 14:54
Players are given a set of letters with which they are supposed to fill in the crossword squares. There are multiple sets per level and each level gets more difficult as letters are added (level one starts with three letters, the next level four letters, and so on). It’s a good game for working your brain but at the same time is relaxing due to there not being a time limit on how long you take finishing the crossword. It’s quite addictive. My one complaint is about the “coins” rewarded. Coins are earned from creating bonus words that are not on the crossword and by finishing an entire level. They can be used to “purchase” hints, which cost 100 coins each. At the rate coins can be earned, that’s a pretty steep price. I’d like to see the coin value increase along with the difficulty level. As it is, I feel like I’m being pressured to actually spend money on virtual coins just so I can get a hint when I get stuck. I’d rather delete my “free” game than repeatedly spend real money for hints.
EDITED: Now 1 Star
by tamon14 on 2018/12/24 09:41
I loved this game when I first found it! It was one of the few games I have where I left the free version and chose to pay because it was so much fun. Then I updated to the latest version and it’s awful. It reminds me of the free, ad-laden one. Too many pop ups asking if you want to pay for bees, too many things that fill in letters for you, etc. It’s way too cluttered now. Give us the option to turn those off since we already paid for the game. I’m never going to pay for the bees, so at least let me disable that. It’s yet another example of them trying to “fix” something that wasn’t broken. EDIT: I came back to change my review to 1 star. It was a great game so after trying the demo I purchased it to get rid of the annoying popups. Well, after a few updates I’m getting popups again. The ads we’re just replaced with offers to buy “help”. A popup is a popup. I’m NEVER buying “Tips”, but I can’t disable that, even though it’s the PAID version. Move on to something that doesn’t keep asking for your money with popups AFTER you bought the paid version to get rid of them.

I love word games and downloaded this game because of the high reviews. The game itself is a great game. Challenging, but not to the point where you want to give up. I love the backgrounds. They change with every level you advance. If I were to rate the game alone, it would probably get 4-5 stars. The developers did a great job with the game itself, but they allow way too many ads. Expect to see an ad every time you open the game and before playing a puzzle. Ads are so frequent that it is extremely difficult to keep your focus and concentration from one puzzle to the next. On the FAQ page, the developers say that it costs a lot of money to develop the game, which is why there are ads. I understand that, but I’ve never seen a game with so many ads. I could remove ads by paying $2.99, but why do that when there are other word games that have less ads and cost less to remove the ads? The developers need to come up with a better balance of game time and ads.
Absolutely beautiful game!
by KalosKagathos on 2018/09/30 17:31
I won’t repeat everything so many have said, except to say that, in terms of overall design and graphics, Wordscapes is truly the most aesthetically pleasing game to play. The background images are simply spectacular. I only wish—and this is my 1st suggestion—that we players could somehow copy or download them (even if it meant paying a small fee for them!). The only reason I give the game 4 stars is b/c—and this is my 2nd suggestion—I really wish the puzzles became significantly more challenging, say, at least when you reach the really high levels. (As of this writing, I’ve finished all levels.) In other words, there are some very dedicated players who will keep finishing all the levels fairly quickly as new levels are (slowly!) added, so it would help to add levels that take significantly longer to finish. Hope that makes sense. Fyi, I nonetheless see my rating as a 4.8. :-) This is a must-have word game for sure!
So far, I enjoy!
by LadyBereness (SUDAN) on 2018/11/19 07:40
I’m assuming as you level up each puzzle will become more challenging. Great for Great Grandmothers such as myself. I believe it’s great to keep our mind sharp and for younger players it will help them with correct spelling as wr as learning new vocabulary words! Please excuse any typos. I have Multiple Sclerosis and totally blind in my left eye. I play this on my phone so it’s been fun. Just worried as zi ho along if the letters become too small it may be hard for me to see. I’ll have to see if I can also play on my IPad without having to start over. My apologies for such a lengthy post. Have fun with this; keep your mind sharp, share with any little ones learning to spell & discovering new words! Even young adults can benefit as this is just another fun way to keeping your brain active. I’ve learned over the years, that old saying remains true: “If you don’t use it you’ll lose it” ❣️
What is with the coins that can not be used?
by Reader by flashlight on 2018/01/18 07:13
Were we looking for a relaxing word play and this seemed to fit the bill until they throw spinning wheels and coins across the screen as if at a casino. They add insult by not explaining the purpose of the coins or how they may be used and when we put the app down for an hour we found that 300 "coins" were removed from the cart and the depletion continued even when we started playing again as if being punished for having lunch. Apparently this app has some opinions. Developers, please loose the coins, as they have no real purpose and remove the 1-minute long ads after every puzzle, not the series of puzzles rather 1-minute ads after a each puzzle. You shouldn't be removing coins or adding coins when they can never be used. This cheapens who you are and you need to reconsider your motives. You appear as tricksters. Loose the coins, or explain their purpose and do not remove them even if someone has to go to work.
App by non-native English speaker
by Billy574 on 2018/06/14 05:46
It’s clear that the person that developed this app isn’t a native English speaker. Many real English words are omitted, sometimes plurals, singulars, or past participles of other words that ARE accepted, or standard British spellings of the same American English words. Also, they accept words that are proper nouns, which shouldn’t be accepted in a word puzzle. As others have said, once you get to higher levels, they use very similar letter combinations as earlier levels, so it’s no longer challenging. Also, they obviously gave up on naming the levels as they repeat level names over and over. Why not go to 8 letters with a minimum of 5 letter words for higher levels? Instead you’re perpetually stuck at 6/3 or 7/4. The ads are probably only overly obnoxious if you finish levels quickly, which after playing awhile you do, so you’re forced to watch an ad every few seconds (luckily they’ve recently cut the ad times so it doesn’t take 30 seconds to watch). Great concept, poor implementation.
Will NOT allow you to remove ads with in-game currency, as advertised
by natebrown11 on 2019/01/06 07:05
Upon starting the game, it is advertised that you can remove ads with 400 coins (in-game currency). These coins are rewarded to the player by completing the game’s puzzles. This offer is said to last for 24 hours. I accumulated 400 coins within 2 hours of downloading the app and after completing the puzzle that pushed my coin count over 400, the game rewarded me with an unskippable ad that would not go away on its own. This forced me to close out of the app and when I re-entered the app the ability to remove the ads with coins was removed and required a cash purchase to remove ads. The unskippable ad did not occur until the exact point that I was able to remove ads without purchase. This is obviously a pre-programmed response so players can not remove the ads without paying real money (which is fine if advertised that way, but this was not the case). This is textbook false advertising and everyone should be warned that this app producer will do the same to you. Don’t waste your time.
Annoying ads-real words not recognized
by wroxi on 2019/02/10 21:11
The ads were so frequent that I did decide to pay the $2.99 to get rid of them, as I was enjoying the game. As I neared level 700, I noticed that the same letters have been used in multiple levels which isn’t very challenging. I have also noticed that there are NUMEROUS VERY COMMON English words which are not recognized by the game. Clearly, developers, you need to go back to the drawing board. It’s very easy to find word unscrambler resources on the Internet. Why not use those to help build a larger database of words that the game will recognize? It’s VERY frustrating when you know the word is a real English word and you are not rewarded for it! Here are some examples: Ware, coir, creel, rebar, barer, scry, quire, torc, terce, lee, purl, farfel etc. etc etc.. I would not recommend this game for somebody who has a large vocabulary to begin with as it is more frustrating than challenging. Probably better for someone whose vocabulary could use strengthening.
Fun, easy, challenging
by Momma~B on 2018/11/01 15:02
This game is relaxing, fun and just challenging enough sometimes to get your brain thinking! I like being able to keep my mind active and still relax. The challenge is nice, I figure out a new word once in a while, and really have to think about a few of these! Haha I have 5 kids, two of which are 4 years old! So, I feel like this helps keep my brain from turning into a pool of toddler words and alphabets! 5 mins here, a quick game there and I feel like I get to exercise my brain a little. I need to find more of these, maybe a nice math one too! Thanks to the person who thought of this game. Also, I love the relaxing background pictures nice touch! Sorry if there are type Os, I am writing this while trying to drink morning coffee with toddlers trying to scare me because it was Halloween last night... haha mom life!
Fun but BATTERY HOG
by D Frey on 2018/01/31 12:42
Updated Review: the further you progress in this game, the more you realize that they use the same words over and over and over in these puzzles. It gets to where the puzzles that should be challenging really aren’t that hard, because you’ve memorized the whole population of words they’ve used. And they still haven’t fixed the issue with bonus/extra words. These are words that aren’t in the puzzle, but you get credit (coins) for them because they’re real words that can be formed from the given group of letters. Problem is, some real words count, and some don’t. That’s STUPID and ANNOYING. Either give credit for real words or don’t. Clearly, the reason for this is that if they give you too many coins, you won’t buy as many coins through in-app purchases. So they’ve made the game stupid in order to maximize revenue. That’s lame. ————— The game itself is great. Challenging after the early levels. It’s pretty frustrating that a lot of actual words aren’t allowed as extra words. That needs to get fixed pronto. But the biggest irritation is the battery drain this game causes. Get on that, devs. I see a lot of griping about ads. If you don’t like them, just pay for the ad free version. I did. It’s not expensive. Less than a latte or a beer, and will last you a thousand times longer.
Ugh!!! Terrible
by redrider17 on 2019/01/14 18:05
This is the only crossword puzzle type game that I am aware of that uses abbreviations and does not let the player know that an abbreviation is acceptable. This game also uses slang terms! For those of us older than 16, we may have a little difficulty with the current terminology. This game also uses the singular and plural forms of the same root word in the same game! Talk about frustrating! Some of my other complaints: this game draws your battery down very quickly due to the excessive length of the advertisements. Also, this game has a tournament format— and you have no choice whether you want to play it or not! I played a tournament last weekend (7th out of 50)to get 100 measly coins! It definitely was not worth it since one single hint will cost you 100 coins, and the tournament lasted all weekend! Hello developers, how about rewarding your loyal players! The developers of this game need to go back to the drawing board and refine it. There is a lot of potential here for a great game, but you have to put up with a lot of BS to enjoy this game.
Amazing and addictive!
by ✨GLITZ💖GIRL✨ on 2018/09/01 19:37
This game is so so so much fun! It’s super addicting and I can’t stop playing! I love how there are different ways to get help and not just a regular hint. I just have one part of the game I would like to have fixed- so the game has a bonus word section which is very cool and in my opinion a wonderful idea. The purpose I believe is that if you found a word that’s not on the puzzle, so it goes to the bonus word section. Once you finish the puzzle, each bonus word you find you get a coin for so not only is it an extra word section but it is a great way to earn coins without watching a video. Anyways, I think that all words that are found in the dictionary and not part of the puzzle should be accepted into the bonus word section, not just specific words. If that is already how the bonus word system already works, then it doesn’t work for me.
Too many ads!
by abrashoffs on 2017/09/07 08:48
I would rate this a heck of a lot more stars if I didn't get an ad every time I finish solving a puzzle. I understand this is how they are making money, but this is getting ridiculous. I would understand having a couple of commercials after the end or middle of every section, but having a commercial or ad at every other or every three is really making me consider whether I should keep this app, despite the fact that it is soooo awesome! Please tone down the occurrence of these ads developers, so that I will want to keep this! I like the way the game is laid out and the gameplay itself, I just get frustrated when an app like this is awesome and the only downside to playing with an app like this is the copious amount of ads that disrupt my gameplay. I know you are trying to do this to force users to buy something that would get rid of the ads, but it just makes me want to delete this app!
Pleasure to play

When I first started this game, I almost quit because it was not challenging enough for me. Fortunately, I stuck with it, and it's now one of my favorite games. The game is beautiful to look at, and the varied sounds add pleasing confirmations or warnings as you enter letters in the puzzle. I did find the ads distracting enough to pay to remove them, though they are not as intrusive as ads in other games, and now the game-playing experience is an absolute pleasure. If I had to offer one suggestion to the developers, it would be to allow extra credit for ALL real words not in the crosswords at EVERY level — not just at the higher levels. And even there, many words are not accepted. But this is a minor point. It's a wonderful game. [And the new firefly challenge is a great addition.]
Superb game could use improvements
by KareninStLouis on 2018/03/27 13:05
This game is great with a couple of irritations. It’s great because it’s different, increasingly challenging, and downright fun. I had to upgrade to the version without ads very quickly. Ads were way too frustrating. Two problems: one is the failure to recognize valid words. I can’t imagine what dictionary this app is using. Sometimes it will even recognize a word in one puzzle, but not recognize it in others, as if it is limiting the number of points scored. Is using puzzle-specific dictionaries? The other irritation is repetition. Similar combinations of letters are used in multiple puzzles so you’re creating the same words over and over. It’s very refreshing when a totally new word comes around. Overall this game is so great that it’s currently the only one I’m playing.
Fun and relaxing
by tigerdawn4748 on 2017/10/15 04:49
I'm enjoying this game. There's no time limits, no limits on guesses, no limits on reshuffling. The music is nice too and I love all the backgrounds. Every so often I'll make a real word but the game doesn't recognize it and that's a little frustrating but not a huge deal. It's nice to find a game I feel like I'm good at. I'm not good with timing games or strategy games, but I have a decent vocabulary so this is a perfect way to entertain myself. The one thing I would add is a way to tap on a word you made in the puzzle and read the definition. Then I could expand my vocabulary and it would be a great learning tool for kids as well. Maybe at the end of a puzzle, instead of immediately going to the next one, have it stay there and give the opportunity to tap on the words before going to the next puzzle.

I found myself playing this game for many hours. It definitely a great way to kill time. It’s fairly easy once you figure out their parameters of which words are accepted and not accepted. Eventually it becomes more challenging with the number of letters added and letter limit minimums. Once you do figure out the words they accept, you’ll find a lot of the levels to be very similar if not the same as previous levels. I recommend having an unscrambler website handy to save coins on the hints if you’re really stuck. The Ads can take you by surprise if you have headphones in on a high volume so just a heads up. After playing over 700 levels I had to uninstall the game because I was spending too much of my free time on it. So all in all the game does its job of entertainment, but be careful if you have an addictive personality or you’ll be on it constantly saying,”Just one more level”.
excellent game, but...
by karma.kahana on 2018/10/30 07:06
i just completed the game, all 4400 levels. it’s a great word puzzle, and i obviously enjoyed it. however, a few things could have been improved upon. the dictionary needs words added, as it sometimes accepts a word in one tense but not another, and also because eventually words are used redundantly. more importantly: i finished with 199,242 brilliance that was never actually for anything, which is disappointing. and i finished with 37,185 coins that were good for nothing except hints (i earned all, none purchased). if your goal is to figure out words without using hints, there should be something else you can use coins for. BIG ONE: there should be another app (WS2) with a continuation of levels at 4401, because starting one of the other apps at level 1 is way too easy. last, i wanted fireworks at the end. 😕
Too many ads
by So..95268 on 2018/09/07 06:00
Was contemplating even writing this review but I’ve had enough. Now I seriously love this game its just enough of a challenge for me that I feel like my brain id actually doing something other than stare at a phone and not too challenging where I get frustrated and never want to play the game again. Unfortunately the ads are getting me to that point. There id an ad literally after every. single. level. This is just ridiculous. Especially since I’ve reached level 600 already I feel like after a certain point of levels.. just don’t ply ads anymore. And its not just after every level if I even leave the app for longer than two minutes... surprise once you open the app, theres an ad. I would be more than happy to purchase a .99 cent no ad in app purchase but the only thing remotely offered is bundles that cost 3-4 dollars. STOP I just want a no ad purchase PLEASE.
Too many lengthy ads
by not just kidding on 2019/02/04 15:13
I love this game but can barely tolerate the intrusive and overly long advertising. The graphics are wonderful and I love the beautiful scenic backgrounds. Obviously, a lot of thought was given to keeping the game moving along with the various chapters featuring new backgrounds. But I spend as much time waiting for the ads to finish as I do playing the game. I’m not sure where my fed up point is but I will tell you I no longer watch TV because of the ridiculous ads showing over and over during the same program. What are you people thinking? And, no, I will not pay for this game to keep the ads out. Figure out some other way to present this game with just minimal advertising and I will continue to play and promote the game to my friends.
The game design is nice, but...
by Thund999 on 2018/11/18 00:38
This design is simple anagram crosswords, and if the anagram you have come up with, isn't in the main puzzle, it probably isn't even a bonus word either. On level 1939, the 7 letter anagram is "UNCOUTH" however, the word "COUTH" isn't even a bonus word. Bonus words give you stars, and stars allow you to buy various kinds of hints. Most words that one will come up with should be bonus words, but they aren't "allowed" words. This makes the game frustrating. Then there are an allowed bonus word from one puzzle that aren't an allowed bonus word in the next puzzle. The big error in programming comes when you spell a word correctly that the puzzle doesn't recognize and that word is in the puzzle. On these I have a hint, yes I really have to buy a hint so I can complete the puzzle. If you can live with the bad programming frustrations, then this game is for you.
Fun but flawed
by J._E._J. on 2018/10/16 15:36
This game is quite fun and really holds my attention. I think it is mostly the right amount of challenge. However there are some definite flaws. With thousands of levels, it gets repetitive (I swear I have played the same words over again). Also, the dictionary is flawed: very inconsistent over what words recognized or not. There are many “obscure” words throughout that make completing levels difficult. There are too many abbreviations and jargon/slang words like “lite, tech, info” that trip me up. In some puzzles, too many common words are not in the crossword and end up in the extra word section at the bottom left. More words should be squeezed into the crossword. Finally, the weekend challenges are fun, except the results are glitchy as I just won 1000 coins on Sunday only to have them taken away in Tuesday. Updates to this app would certainly improve the rating!
It’s great but...........
by cutecorrine222😙😙 on 2018/10/11 01:38
Now I done reviews on a lot of games. Doesn’t that make me a professional😂? I love this game but to me it’s so aggravating how I just keep on thinking of words but yet they keep going in the BONUS WORDS box! To me that just keeps on getting aggravating and aggravating and aggravating. Now I’m only ten years old but this is my go to game. The good things about this game is that they help you learn new words so to me it’s really like a learning game. Also it’s super addicting. I basically LOVE this game but to make things easier I sometimes look up the answers( sometimes I could just look at the list of words and not even see the word I’m thinking of so I make things easier) Sometimes people are like “It’s to many ads”,but their is like one ad every time your done with it. I definitely recommend you should get this game!
Casual player
by johnnyBlaze561 on 2018/09/20 09:03
I am a casual player, and I am not afraid to say I am into word games like this. It has its entertaining value, however I have few drawbacks with this game. First, the ads force you to watch a video periodically and after the video ends the ads lasts for another minute or so... it becomes redundant and tedious. I am all for free games making money, and I’m ok with that, although it becomes a bit much when it’s a double dose of ads.. second, there are times, albeit very few times, I enter words and they aren’t recognized... it’s a flaw in the app, not the game. I can say I am hooked on this game for now due to the entertaining/brain activity element. I do see this game using obscure words from time to time and at times they aren’t recognized on one level then on the next... I will play it to the end if it doesn’t continue to become more and more obscure. This is my opinion. Hope it helps
Why are there so many ads?
by Sick of Ads 2: Ad Boogaloo on 2018/06/05 01:34
The game in of itself is fun and quick. The major problem is the religion and multitudes of ads; they have an ad at the bottom of the screen while playing and an ad for some overly colorful game after each round. Now, most of these will play for a few seconds when you’ll have an “x” pop up in the top right corner that lets you exit out...right into a repeat, if not slightly put together differently, of the previous ad. Then, there’s the biggest bastard of them all: some awful remake of the classic Bejeweled where instead of having an “x” pop up in the top right corner, they have the sound on/off option which makes you sit through the whole 30-seconds of the ad. The ad redundancy is just awful and makes the game slightly unbearable. It’s a shame that games have come to this but I would highly recommend just going to a bookstore or a newsstand and getting a class black-and-white crossword puzzle or any of the other puzzle books.

If this issue were fixed, the game would be absolutely perfect in my opinion.

hello, I downloaded this application in the hopes of finding some nice, calming mental stimulation over my Christmas holiday.

Fun game

Challenging and fun!
by Savage_tootsie_roll✌️🤟🏻 on 2018/04/25 00:28
I love playing this game to be able to challenge my brain.

Pleasure to play
by not-a-lady-of-leisure on 2018/12/20 15:56
When I first started this game, I almost quit because it was not challenging enough for me.
Addictive
by 420_EggBoi_69 on 2019/01/13 10:33
I found myself playing this game for many hours.
