So I can live with moving tools around (like undo button from bottom left to bottom right) but what happened to the web browser? I can search for an image, but I can’t search for web pages any more. Also app on iPhone and iPad crash and don’t connect as consistently. Finally I couldn’t open a Jam from my iPad to a Jamboard, but I could do it with my iPhone. It works amazingly well for what I need. As a designer I want to iterate on ideas and organize those ideas quickly and this allows me to do that. Without getting bogged down in things having to “look nice”. Sure there are some improvements that can be made. I love the multiple erase options, I can clear a whole board, section or just erase a single line/sketch. You wouldn’t think something like that would be a highlight but it really is. My only suggestions at this point would be to maybe add a quick toggle option to see the board only without all the tools. Even less distraction when jotting down ideas. And some sort of angle/rotation lock feature for the text, sometimes when I re-size a text it starts to rotate and I can’t quite get it straight again. Overall, love the app and really hope Google keeps it around for awhile.

If you are trying to do work in real time, like tutor someone who lives far away from you in math for example, use this app. It updates in real time, has a web application, and is free. The way I used it: I was collaborating on a math problem and I was writing on my iPad, while the other person was 400 miles away on their laptop following along using the web app. It worked out great!!! Best part? It’s free!!!
Amazing for remote team collaboration

With the right hardware, namely an iPad and Apple Pencil, this is a fantastic app that can be used for whiteboarding or note taking that syncs nicely with G Suite. I wish there was a way to add blobs of text other than through a sticky note.

Doesn’t integrate elegantly into the Google suite - can’t easily share to a meeting, I need to type in a meeting code. Kicker - doesn’t even support iPad keyboard for typing anything within the app.
My favorite quick sketching app
by bobryskamp on 2019/08/23 18:02
I don't have a physical Jamboard but this app works great on the iPad with Pencil. Best part is the automatic sync to the web so I can view and share designs from the desktop. Also can Airplay from the iPad to Zoom calls and external displays. Wishlist? More efficient tool and color switching and easier board naming.
Amazing for Education - Needs Sharing Fix
by BrianYearling on 2019/07/17 16:23
This app is another slam dunk application from Google and it is absolutely perfect for tablet users, except one clunky feature that needs a quick fix. In multi-domain G Suite districts like ours, sharing across domains is tricky. The JAM code is the perfect easy sharing solution, but it does not work across domains, and as a Google Admin I have no way to whitelist a domain to share with easily using the JAM Code. The trouble is that sharing a URL on iOS doesn’t work either as the Safari or Chrome browser will not open in Jamboard app. So the only option is sharing with a full list of students, which isn’t reasonable or efficient. And it isn’t even possible on iOS. Please fix... this is a new killer app for iOS but this fix needs immediate attention for educators to use it widely this fall.
So much potential
by pk223 on 2019/05/03 13:11
This can be so much more with the iPad and pencil. It is fairly unstable right now as it crashes infrequently. Connection to jamboard is there with WiFi delay. Please develop this app Google! Primary use may have been intended as a whiteboard space but there's a lot of untapped potential utility in that tablet form with pencil compatibility. Just for reference I also have a Pixelbook and Google pen, but the apple pencil 2nd generation works better overall. (Magnetic charging, thin profile, double tap)

App doesn’t work unless your team is on the same WiFi network
by Beefyjerk on 2018/08/23 08:54
You definitely can not share this “innovative whiteboard” with people anywhere in the world, unless they are on the same WiFi network. I tried this out with two of my iPads at home while they were both connected to the same network. It was working fine until I attempted switching one iPad from using the WiFi to my cellphone data, and then I got disconnected from the jamboard and the devices were no longer able to stay connected with each other. The second you get disconnected from the jamboard, getting back in is incredibly difficult. Especially if both devices continue drawing. The jamboards will not sync up when you reconnect. This is a cool concept, but it just doesn’t work. It is just way too glitchy.
Great potential, limiting screen space

The game bird is a place to be free... until you run out of space. Then I presume they want you to create and name a new file? For each new page? Granted I'm testing it alone, but the fact I can't increase my space without leaving my board is irritating. Maybe the control is so obvious I missed it, but the online documentation makes no mention of adding boards or space to your existing jam.

by CamargoBP on 2017/06/06 14:43
I'm disappointed at the experience I'm having with jamboard. We can not connect to the board (both android and iOS) with the share code or through "Nearby Boards". The app discovers the board and that's all. Compared with Microsoft Surface (55") and Cisco SparkBoard (55"), jamboard ranks #2. Cisco still takes the cake on overall experience quality and operability. We'll keep the jamboard around, hopefully it will receive updates that make it better. We're a G-Suite shop, we want this to work.

I don’t get update changes
by pwyu1969 on 2019/10/18 18:07
So I can live with moving tools around (like undo button from bottom left to bottom right) but what happened to the web browser? I can search for an image, but I can’t search for web pages any more. Also app on iPhone and iPad crash and don’t connect as consistently. Finally I couldn’t open a Jam from my iPad to a Jamboard, but I could do it with my iPhone. Used to be 5 stars, but functionality and
Amazing for remote team collaboration

With the right hardware, namely an iPad and Apple Pencil, this is a fantastic app that can be used for whiteboarding or note taking that syncs nicely with G Suite. I wish there was a way to add blobs of text other than through a sticky note.
Going Backwards
by Sourcejockey on 2019/11/20 00:01
I love using this app as a virtual whiteboard for meetings—but now that Google has removed the Meet integration, I can no longer share the Jamboard in a Meet like I was previously able. That’s a bit frustrating.
Not quite there...
by josey4628 on 2019/11/20 16:24
Great idea, but some of the tools are too simple. The inking is not on par with other apps using Apple Pencil.
My favorite quick sketching app

I don't have a physical Jamboard but this app works great on the iPad with Pencil. Best part is the automatic sync to the web so I can view and share designs from the desktop. Also can Airplay from the iPad to Zoom calls and external displays. Wishlist? More efficient tool and color switching and easier board naming.
Great potential, limiting screen space
by Jayznzjdjd on 2018/08/21 15:24
The game bird is a place to be free... until you run out of space. Then I presume they want you to create and name a new file? For each new page? Granted I'm testing it alone, but the fact I can't increase my space without leaving my board is irritating. Maybe the control is so obvious I missed it, but the online documentation makes no mention of adding boards or space to your existing jam.
Great Application

It’s a whiteboard reimagined for the Cloud. Truly innovative and intuitive to use. Allows you to be a part of the whiteboard from anywhere in the world.
Unusable
by Leftquark on 2017/06/26 20:19
The app crashes every time I try to join a board. If I haven't been invited to a board but it's "nearby", i request access but nothing shows up on the Jamboard to give me access. This app is unusable. Hoping for a quick update
Is this google!!
by ahsant99 on 2018/04/11 15:44
I am surprised to see such a poor app like this one comes out of Google's labs! There is no handwriting annotations using mobile app nor does it support non-Latin alphabet (Arabic & Hebrew) It needs lots of work to compete with other professionals in the business :-(
Work in progress
by Starrcourt on 2018/01/30 14:46
When it works it’s cool, but it often crashes and jamboards are frequently out of sync between devices.
Terrible app
by A guy who knows things on 2019/05/01 17:12
Just download notability instead. This is app is a waste. I would rate 0 stars if I could. Only has 6 colors. Everything you draw is blurry. Auto draw is complete trash

OMG best app ever
OK
by Rechnergott on 2019/09/06 22:23
Doesn’t integrate elegantly into the Google suite - can’t easily share to a meeting, I need to type in a meeting code. Kicker - doesn’t even support iPad keyboard for typing anything within the app.
Cannot connect to jamboard
by CamargoBP on 2017/06/06 14:43
I'm disappointed at the experience I'm having with jamboard.
