Begs you to spend
by Nimdae on 2020/07/05 07:49
I played this a while back when I was an android user but forgot why I dropped it. And I realize after spending time with the game again why I left. Every time I start it up I have to dismiss a large number of dialogs begging me to spend money. Additionally there’s clutter on the empire screen also begging me to spend money. There’s a huge focus on trying to maximize this. I actually did spend a small amount to see if the begging was reduced at all and it seems like it actually got worse. It detracts from the game quite a lot and this style is done much better elsewhere.
No support
by Rayzgto on 2020/07/05 05:57
Terrible RnG...leans way to houses favor...constant cash or you fail...waste of time unless you have money money money They won’t even have in game support because they are too scared of all the back lash...I hope you are smart and avoid 1 of the worst games around
Fruitless endeavor
by shutyourpie on 2020/07/04 22:50
Yes it takes money but it’s not just that. The programming is not random so the logarithms keep you back when they want to (like when you’re not spending money) it’s simple as that. So that’s what a fruitless endeavor is. What’s the point if you don’t get anything out of the game not even the token wins.
Rigged!!!
by pnw82+ on 2020/07/04 05:57
This game is completely rigged and awful! 4.7 rating is an absolute lie, would give this crap game no star if I could.
Turn down the blatant rigging in the raid battles deserves a -10 but can only give 1 star
by ihavetoputsomething on 2020/07/04 02:13
Destroys anything good about the game because it is so painfully blatant in the rigging to make up for the lack of ai. Very easy pattern to see.
still broken
by Amenjava on 2020/07/04 00:03
raids do seem very slightly more balanced so far but still very broken, capricious. i wish there was a way to make you pay me for how frustrating and broken raids are
Very greedy
by hftchkgdr on 2020/07/03 23:09
This game has so much potential. The graphics are nice, the general aspect of the game is awesome, it’s just the constant yearn for money. The game seems to be rigged most times when I raid and do wars. The 5 star heroes are almost impossible to summon with tokens. The game purposely holds off on the valuable items because it wants you to pay money. Even when you do pay money it barely even helps.
Very fun, don't waste yo $
by yomammafat on 2020/07/03 20:22
I love playing this game, but it is not worth spending a dime on. Your progress will be slower, but it is better than spending a ton of money for the slim hope of getting something you need. I know people who have spent way too much and did not get anything useful. So enjoy the game and save your money for something else.
Great Game

Don’t let these reviews fool you . This is a great game and it’s so addictive! Get started and start collecting your hero’s , join a alliance and meet some new friends . Friends from all over the globe ! You don’t have to spend money to enjoy the never ending challenges . LOOK ME UP WHEN YOU GET THERE ...Tim.Katt
Don’t have to pay to advance
by SWhat75 on 2020/07/03 13:03
I’ve been playing for some time now and have yet to spend any money at all. Not one red cent or green dollar or digital transaction. I’ve made all the same progresses albeit at a slower pace than those who buy tools to make it go faster but I’m in no hurry. The game plays well. Gets a little routine but intake a break and come back.
For Patient Gamers
by Mydon on 2020/07/03 12:45
This game takes a little time investment here and there. Fit a session waiting in line at the store, etc. It’s a puzzle game but also a game for people who like to collect things. It’s mildly farm like. Big problem is too many pop up windows (Ads for microtransactions, not ads for other games). The recently added Become a VIP window doesn’t even have an ‘x’ to close it. You have to shut down the app and reopen it.
Money money money
by Your Magesty Sir on 2020/07/03 12:34
It’s a gamble. If you don’t want to lose money for nothing don’t start buying gems and items. The game itself is fun if you just want to complete the levels. This game will empty your bank account if you start chasing heroes. Most of the time you’ll get duplicates of one hero which is really stupid. Small Giant Game (SGG) needs to come up with a better way of helping players not summoning the same heroes so people won’t lose their money on useless heroes. I been playing this game for 3years now and I still can’t summon Drake Fong; Drake Fong is a season 1 hero. Don’t expect to get your money’s worth when trying to summon a hero you want, more likely you’ll be disappointed. SGG don’t care about their players they just want your money. Good luck and have fun...don’t spend your rent money on this game.

Annoyed
by d book bdehe on 2020/07/01 17:44
I’ve been playing this game for about a year and I’ve yet to get one of the monthly special characters. I just spent 300 tokens and still didn’t get one. The annoying thing is without these Monthly characters it’s almost impossible to move up I the game. I don’t think I will be playing the game anymore because it seems to me if you don’t spend money on the game the creators don’t want you to do well.

Mobile slot machine
by hamburgertrain on 2020/07/01 15:25
New players beware! It’s like a mobile slot machine with no chance of winning. You have to spend tons of money to be able to advance in the game. It’s a fun game, but it’s pretty much pay to play now. Play, but don’t pay!!
Very disappointing and unattractive
by nicolasusa on 2020/07/01 15:10
Over the past year or so, this game has totally lost its appeal. Hard to find items, specifically epic and rare ascension materials have gone significantly down. All types of chests, no longer give adequate loot, whether it’s a monster chest, hero, titan, war, or even the elemental chests, which are supposed to have much better loot than the other chests. The loot we get from chests have gotten to the point where it’s just worthless, or garbage, not to mention the loot from defeating titans and from winning wars, nothing seems to give any decent loot, it’s just practically the same stuff every time, and it is extremely disappointing considering how long things take to complete in this game. The Alchemy Lab, and hero Academy are overwhelmingly disappointing, because the Hero academy does not improve thing at all for players, and the Alchemy Lab does not give us enough for what we should be getting. Their needs to be a way for players to be able to do something significantly useful with all of their duplicate heroes, which are not doing them any good. How about a feature, which allows you to give up an old obsolete hero that has been maxed, and in return, the game returns to you all of the ascension materials which were used to fully max that hero. The hero will be gone, but the materials will still be returned, so the players can use them on a newer and more significant hero. Also, a feature that allows you to craft epic ascension material in a way similar to the Epic or Legendary hero training in the Training Camp. A player will spend a certain amount of food and/or iron in order to craft ascension material, with the possibility of receiving a rare or epic ascension material. The way the levels in the Alchemy lab are set up, are very unattractive and seem to give little or no rewarding items in return. The loot, simply needs to be improved significantly, and we need something much more attractive and rewarding than to simply change a season 1 Legendary hero, and get back in return another season 1 Legendary hero, It’s pointless. Please fix these issues, and please make so that Legendary heroes are more accessible.
Be wary
by Poo Flinger Jr on 2020/07/01 11:43
This is a very addictive Match-3 game that combines collecting along with social aspects. I enjoyed it a great deal to start but then the gacha got me. If you have any bit of gambler in you, avoid this game. There is a constant bombardment from the game in the form of purchase offers. These add up quickly. Unless you have no regard for money, don’t get hooked into chasing the latest hero of the month or the very hard to obtain Event Heroes. You will sink a ton of cash chasing them and wind up with expensive feeders or a roster so large that you will never obtain the ascension materials to make them useful. If you can play as free to play (f2p) or cheap to play (C2P), you might enjoy the game. Just be very aware of the summoning odds before you spend. Even if you end up with all the great heroes, the developers have a very tight grip on the ascension materials needed to fully level them. Good gaming.
Lying reviews about not costing money to advance.
by mythos.usa on 2020/07/01 11:18
I have been playing for over a year and this game will eventually demand money to advance. Or you can painfully gather and advance very very slowly over months time. I have played for months now and have NOT received the objects to level up my characters for 4 months. Even when I have bought to level up it barely advances any characters. I think the ratings defending this gaming app are probably from the developers so they continue making millions of dollars off there gamers. They haven’t given back for sure. If you make plenty of money or have a large allowance —— you should play.
Pay-to-Play
by YayP4254 on 2020/07/01 03:53
You will not be successful in this game without spending money. Reposting because the App Store allows devs to remove negative reviews when they update the game.

Addictive game but expensive
by A team mama on 2020/06/30 21:46
I’ve played this game about a year and have spent way more money than I anticipated. The micro “deals” are meant to entice you to purchase gems which is the in game currency, you spend them to summon new heroes. Unfortunately the odds to get 5* hero’s are terribly low...approximately 3%. The drop rate from chests for items needed to ascend the hero’s is very poor, you can wait for well over a year to finish ascending one 5* hero. It’s very disappointing that the developers just don’t listen to any feedback from the players and have essentially created a money tree out of this game. I enjoy playing the game, but highly recommend any new players not to spend any money on this game.

Misleading ads Lead to Disappointment in the Game
by Ibbillski on 2020/06/30 17:29
The ads show a very entertaining twist on the standard match three game by adding a fun battle element to it. If that’s all there was to the game I would enjoy it a whole lot more! The world building is long, tedious and boring! Give me a game using that element alone and I’ll give it five stars!

Disappointing...
by kingkarlito23 on 2020/06/30 07:29
This is a trap to make people spend money irresponsibly, on a chase for a hero that you have 0.3 or 1.5 percent of getting.... is the most cruel thing I’ve ever seen in a game! Awful!

Good game but
by Jetful11 on 2020/06/29 20:55
Greedy developers, it is slow to get good hero’s unless you want to spend a lot of money. Many older players leaving due to the lack of SGs willingness to listen to player feedback. The problem is, ascension items are rare for leveling up hero’s and unless you want to spend 100’s of dollars you will be waiting a long time to grow your hero roaster. Myth Wars is another duplicate game of this one and they do the same thing. Good luck if you start playing this game your going to need it.

I’m not a gambler
by worship junky on 2020/06/29 05:22
I would give this game a higher rating. There’s so many good things about the game play and different ways to play. I’ve played it everyday since November 2018. I’m embarrassed to say how much I have spent on gems. I don’t mind spending money to get what I need. But I don’t like to gamble. In other games you spend money on gems and buy the hammer you want. Here you buy gems with a 1-3% chance to get that hammer. In this case a particular hero. At the height of my spending I spent over $600 trying to get a particular hero and didn’t even get it. I’m so far invested in the game now it’s hard to walk away. If I had it to do over I would not download this game. My opinion further degraded over recent decisions the developers made. We don’t have any rights after spending money time and resources on our teams. They can just change the hero at will. There’s many simple things they could do to make the game less like gambling. If the priced a hero at $200 and you knew you could get it for the money or you could pull for it at the summon gate that would be great. If they stopped messing with heroes after they’re released. Again simple fix that costs them nothing. I’ve stopped spending. I’m #nospend until the developers hear our pleas.
Play, But don’t spend
by This mad guy on 2020/06/29 02:58
This is one of the most fun games I have ever played and I’ve enjoyed it immensely. However it is also very abrogating and very stressful. In order to acquire the strongest hero’s you have to use gems from the game which are mostly acquired by in-app purchase. You come to learn you don’t get your money’s worth as the odds are so low to pull the strong hero’s and that the materials to max them out are acquired even fewer than the hero’s themselves. All this can be done without spending it just takes longer, it’s worth to play and can be enjoyed as long as you don’t put any money into it.

Fun game ruined by greed
by Eremela on 2020/06/28 21:08
I’ve played the game for almost 2 years. It’s just like all the other FTP games. Get you hooked with social aspects, fun game mechanics and nice design. My issue is that the developers keep putting out content designed for players to spend money. If you want a fun game that you don’t need to spend money on as the developers give away free pulls like candy at Halloween go play Dragalia Lost.
Too expensive
by Jtregulator on 2020/06/28 19:18
This game has its good qualities but you could spend a fortune and not get the Legendary Heroes you need to compete or even finish map stages.
Greedy Developers
by Dr.breezer on 2020/06/28 15:26
This is a money grab scheme. Be ready to spend your life savings if you want descent heroes. The developers don’t listen to the community as well. Getting tired of fighting the same green tank in the game. About to quit. Save money and time by not downloading this game. Wish I could give zero stars.
Cash Grab
by McBeard79 on 2020/06/28 11:03
The updates in the game has to to many new summons portals, many with below a 1.4% of a 5* hero. The voice in the forums has wanted ways to recycle old heroes and retire duplicates but after a 500 day rollout, Hero Academy failed to do so. 1.3% return and .1% Myztero are just money grabs, please take your money elsewhere.
Don’t waste your time
by Unbiased player on 2020/06/28 02:14
This isn’t a strategy game. It’s a game of chance and gambling. Strategy: have a healer, but the gem color to power up selected heale will be the rarest match Strategy: have two of the same colors because you have two strong characters. The game will make sure the color you don’t have is bountiful (useless) and the one you have two colors you won’t get Strategy. Save gems or buy them and draw ten characters with the hope of getting something decent. 10 draws got me EIGHT 3* heroes and TWO 4* stars. 0 five stars. That in addition to 3 other drawings that got me all 3 stars. Yet the description says “increased chance to get legendary”. What are the odd then? 1:1,000,000,000? 1:1,000? Not mention the still overpowered hero that everyone who is a top player and clan has even after an adjustment. Game is no longer fun.
Used to be fun
by scott frustrates on 2020/06/28 00:57
I have played this game for a year now and it is crazy. I have a F2P account and a P2P account. After 1 year of Free to play, I got 1 5 star. In the Pay 2 Play account I have noticed that the loot has gone down. Over the past year, I have see that this game has moved further away from being player friendly. I understand companies are in business to make money...no brained, but the difference between this and great companies is that great companies listen to their customers. This has become all about the money and so I will not be spending any more money. I would encourage you that if you download the game, do not spend money. It is entertaining, but not worth the headache you will get if you spend money on in-app-purchases.
Good game

Money grab and broken game
by JjDerrick on 2020/06/28 00:13
This game has gone straight down hill ever since one hero was introduced. Telluria. Ever since this hero was released this game has been broken to no end. Alliances won’t accept you if you don’t have her. Playing against her is the norm. Wars are all green tanks. This used to be a fun game with diversity and now it’s become a heavy game for pay to win. If that’s what you’re into then download this game. Otherwise save your money and steer away. 3 years into this game and I’m ready to call it quits.
The fun has dropped off
by Mu445 on 2020/06/27 22:01
The fun of this game has dropped off a cliff. The fun of the game was getting new stuff and there was a fair amount of events to acquire ascension materials for your heroes, they removed the 4* ascension materials out of the rewards for completion of the monthly events, but they have added a deal for picking your own ascension material for the low price of 19.00 keep in mind you will need 6 of a certain one to advance your heroes. They are releasing many new super powered heroes in the game that make the ones you can obtain for free almost obsolete. So you will have to spend if you want to acquire them, then you will have to spend to level them up. I’ve seen a lot of long time players who spent thousands on the game just up and quit out of disgust for what it has become the last few months. It was a fun game, but it hasn’t been for months.

Misuse of Psychology for Financial Gain
by cookie________ on 2020/06/27 14:13
This game is fun and the people who play are great. BUT the developers have misused the power of intermittent rewards to trigger gambling addiction in many players. Be forewarned and find a different game if you have any tendency to this. Spending several hundred a month is common for daily players and the top teams spend much more than this.
Getting too expensive!!!
by Apollo-the other one on 2020/06/27 13:58
The game is fun to play but overshadowed by the constant pressure to spend lots of money for unknown and questionable gains. Sure they warn you and provide probabilities but the hard core gambler in us always says not me, it’s the other guy that will get nothing.
Don’t Spend Your Money!!
by TamAndNat on 2020/06/27 13:49
I started a few months ago, I love the game and the community is wonderful, however Small Giants don’t respect or care for their players. The only goal they have is to bleed you dry financially. It’s incredibly addicting to spend on the game and honestly it’s cost me more than just money, my relationship with my wife and kids have also suffered. The developers need to listen to the community and make the game more fair to play, stop running a gambling rink, and just focus on making the game play fun. I love the game, it’s a lot of fun... we just shouldn’t have to spend tons of money...
Spend money and get no return
by pleiades96 on 2020/06/27 13:39
This would be the most awesome mobile game ever - EXCEPT for this. The developers continue to take your money and give you very little in return. The only way to advance heroes is to spend money in the hopes of getting what you need. The odds are so low in getting your materials, that you will spend months waiting. Every purchase is a gamble. Until the devs change this, the game is just a gambler’s addiction. Don’t do it!
Corporate Greed
by DP-AZ on 2020/06/27 07:19
Please, read other reviews describing how terrible this game is in regards to the greed by the developers. The developers have turned their backs on their customers, the players. Everything in this game is geared to making you spend to get anywhere. From pulling for heroes, RNG, ascension items, everything. My recommendation to those thinking about this game, run away as fast as you can.
Costs WAY too much to progress
by Ksup3 on 2020/06/27 04:58
I love this game - it’s crazy addictive, it offers a nice social component. Lately the amount you need to spend to succeed in the game has gotten out of control. There’s little that is actually randomized on how the game provides new valuable heroes or materials to ascend them. The developers have been caught on immoral and unethical manipulation of the game several times and they give the players a small token and move on. Enough is enough - don’t even start with this game, move on, save your money and thank players like me later.
Disappointed
by Raffery on 2020/06/27 03:51
First of all, I love this game. But you cannot imagine how much money I have spent and not getting what I wanted. The odds of getting a good heroes is laughable. I remember I’ve spent over $900 for the wonderland event, and I still don’t have white rabbit. Instead I got 11 Malosis. And now with this hero academy update, I can only say “are you kindling me?” Stop spending , they are not listening. It’s not worth it.
How the mighty have fallen
by Mcroberg on 2020/06/27 03:24
A once great game now reduced to a cash grab at every turn. Used to be a healthy balance of company profitability and player satisfaction, however has veered starkly towards greed. Prizes reduced, continued poor drop rates, refusing to listen to constructive feedback of beta tester to improve quality of life and much needed improvement for its player base of all levels. Every design choice seemingly made to part you with your money with more summoning portals. I would love nothing more to rate this as a 5 star game and would willingly do so with a shift towards player satisfaction and it’s once former glory. If you’re a new player stay away it will only end in dissatisfaction.
They need to make the odds better for 4* ascension items.
by Acesterchs on 2020/06/27 02:56
If you spend some money in the game you will end up with some good heroes. However, you end up with a bunch of good heroes that are not fully leveled, and you never use them. This is because they make the odds for the final ascension items so hard to get.
Will EMPTY your wallet it’s so fun.
by Cteegs on 2020/06/27 02:47
Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely LOVE this game. I’m even the Leader of an alliance. The problem is it literally forces you to spend $ to do better. Never had I spent $ on a game, but this one... I swear I must’ve spent $10,000 no joke. They get ya lil bit at a time but YOU TOO will get hooked. Please do not download unless you are prepared to lose that much. You’ve been warned!

by DRockStarHippie on 2020/06/26 23:33
I love playing this game. And it’s the only game I’ve ever spent money on. But the creators don’t listen to the community about ways to improve the game and seem to only care about taking our money. I know I’m not alone in being consistently disappointed with their responsiveness, or lack there of.
Decent game until money is needed
by D0miniqu301 on 2020/06/26 21:51
I like the game strategy aspect since the match 3 games are so easy to learn but heroes and specials adds an interesting twist however you reach a point in the game where you need to spend money to progress. Rare summons % are a joke and unless you get lucky or spend money you will be stuck for a long time. This game was fun at some point but trust me once you realize you need money to keep up then there is no turning back
Costly Game
by hdjskfggjejwgigiff on 2020/06/26 21:26
Fun game, but only if you spend lots of money. Even if you spend money, actually, you are not guaranteed good players. There are better, less costly games out there.
Bad gamble
by Me123765 on 2020/06/26 21:06
The is a good game but in order to make any significant progress, you will have to spend money. 5 star heroes are few and far between with very little chance to obtain, less than 2%. recent additions make this game more of a money grab and less about the community and game play. You are best to look elsewhere, where similar games give you better value for your money and the developers respect your time.
Game is a shameless cash grab
by Silkenlor on 2020/06/26 20:53
It’s a real shame when a fairly well conceived game makes it impossible to be even remotely competitive without spending ungodly amounts of cash. Unfortunately, this perfectly describes Empires and Puzzles. The game is designed to force all players to hit insurmountable obstacles to advancement without spending money or waiting 10 years.. Shameless cash grab...
Fine for awhile...Then horrible greediness
by Goldi77 on 2020/06/26 20:42
When you start the drop rates seemed good enough. The farther you get and spend the less they give. I recently reported a bug because I am in the top 5 titan scorers and lower guys 25-28th place get all the 4 star ascension items. While I get string. Pointless to draw for more heroes if you cannot ascend them. You have to buy almost every good item you need. The drops for crafting have dried up. If you have addiction/gambling issues I do not recommend downloading. Sorry game runners, I reached out for help and you said works as designed. Welp, I no longer like the design. #NoMoreMoney #SorryNotSorry
The Game Is Broken And Devs Ignore Player Base
by Big Swinging Dick (BSD) on 2020/06/26 20:03
Let me start this review by stating I have played for almost two years now and 6 months ago I would have made this a 5* review. If you are thinking about starting to play this game, DO NOT DOWNLOAD! The current state of this game is broken and the developers now seem to care more about making money in the short term, rather than making this a long-term mobile franchise. They have recently released heroes that have essentially made all previous heroes obsolete. This has made the gap between free to play players and pay to win player tremendous. You can no longer compete unless you spend hundreds to obtain these new heroes, and the devs have ignored the beta testers warning them that these heroes were broken. The newest update was a slap in the face to the player base and they have acknowledged they failed to provide any situations the players have asked for.
Please Be Aware!!
by Queen scooter on 2020/06/26 19:47
I have been playing these game for almost two years. At first I was excited. But quickly learned to catch up on the hero’s. You had to spend. So you dump a few $100 into it and if your lucky you might get a few good hero’s. Less likely too. Then you get a 5* hero and it takes months to get the ascension items and months to feed hero’s to level it up. Months ago the came out with a Titan chest. They told the players that it would give better rewards. After 5 Titan kills you can open the chest. At first we received good items. But it wasn’t long before they change the rewards to trash. I suggest you be aware of the way they sucker you into spending on the game. I will gladly change this review. If they start to listen to their players. Which they have shown they really don’t care for or respect.
Shame on you small giant
by cxxxxxxihfe63)&9@!?!)(? on 2020/06/26 19:30
Originally I viewed this game as a five star . With the unfairness of heroes and ability to ascend you’re heroes. I now give this game a one star it has become a money pit free to play no longer exists .
Don’t download - Will make you cry
by Sunflowercat1 on 2020/06/26 18:08
I like this game but you have to spend money, and a lot of it if you want to be competitive, and still there’s no guarantee. You need the ultra rare heros to have a hope to advance, and you can easily blow thousands of dollars and still not get the hero you’re after. Also, the new feature we were promised by the developers, hero academy, is not addressing the problem that they said it would.
This game is NOT newbie friendly
by BloodRage4 on 2020/06/26 17:59
This game has been known to have some of the worst odds out of the gatcha games, but this company doubled down on the greed and kept pushing “deals” of crucial components for heroes that are already hard to get. If you want to spend hundreds or even thousands trying to MAYBE get ONE 5 star hero and waste your money, this game is for you. Otherwise I would avoid this game like the plague.
Save your money $
by Thankful C. Anderson on 2020/06/26 17:55
Right now I’m 8 months in and thousands and thousands of dollars. Anyway unless you have a lot of money to waste stay away. Everything in this game is about gems that you need to buy. If you go free to play it seriously takes away from the fun and you will start spending. But it is a fun game so up to you
Better options
by Michael0909040505 on 2020/06/26 17:47
This is a good game, but, the developers make it so difficult to achieve any of the top heroes. You have to spend a lot to get them. There are better options, ones that make your dollar go farther.
Cash grab
by allmusic&hockey on 2020/06/26 17:12
Excellent concept, great game until you get to a high level. Then it’s pay to play. Free players are getting screwed. Ascension items are too rare and no option for duplicate 5* heroes. If SG listens to the community and helps out their loyal player base, this review will be updated to 5. Until then... #nospend
Get your wallet out or be left in the dust!
by $Bull$ on 2020/06/26 16:35
I’ve been playing this game for over two years and it combines all of what I’m looking for in a game, HOWEVER, in order to progress and keep up with everyone you must spend money to get items needed to progress. I believe SG purposely makes the odds so difficult and at the same time they hang a carrot in front of you making it almost impossible not to purchase the item you need. Don’t even get me started on hero pulls! Really? 0-1.5% chance of getting a 5* hero? Better odds playing the lottery! I will continue playing this game as I have already invested the money to purchase a cheap car! However, I have decided I will not give another dime to this game until SG decides to give a little back to the community that has made their pockets overflow! Listening to the folks that put food on their table seems to be an easy thing to do but... their greed has caused them to look the other way and ignore the simple request of the E&P community. Anyways, play this game because it’s fun but if you’re competitive like me, bring your wallet!
Beware of a money pit
by The Deeg on 2020/06/26 16:04
New players beware. I love this game. It is very fun and I have met many friends from the community. However there is a huge problem with how this game works fundamentally. New players need to know that in the beginning you can’t realize or see the pay wall behind the way you get heroes and ascension materials. Small Giant has become to greedy.
DO NOT PLAY
by Season Open Flop on 2020/06/26 15:59
I have been playing this game for almost 2 years now. If you want a game that is slow to progress in, resources hidden behind pay wall and a game where you have to spend hundreds of dollars to enjoy... well this is for you. I would get sick if I knew how much I’ve spent. You gain heroes by entering gems in to a summons portal. You WILL end up with a bunch low star heroes you probably already have with no mechanisms to trade or return. Resources are used to level up your heroes but they drip them out during the game or you spend 30+ dollars to get them. This game IS a money trap with the developers greed shining through each “update” you have been warned!
Like the game but....
by Ex Member 3310 on 2020/06/26 15:58
The greediness nature that has saturated most seasoned and new players is now recognized. Newer players be very aware of what your getting into, I suggest keep your money in your wallet for now. If things change I will gladly change my rating. Hero academy is a joke. For now I’m happy with the heroes I have but I have no problem deleting the app if need be, my alliance feels the same way.
Way to expensive to be competitive.
by SyconInd. on 2020/06/26 15:41
This game is fun to play, but is way to expensive. $1000.00’s over time!!!!! Every part of this game revolves around spending money. Everyday I play the game it offers me deals to spend on the game and the $ amounts range from $1.99 to $99.00. You can play for free, but you will soon find out it takes years to be the least bit competitive. If you have any kind of addictive personality stay away from this game. Fortunately I have some restraint so haven’t spent to much money, but it still is way more than a game should cost to play. Be aware if you start to play this game everyday they will be trying to get into your wallet!!!! Beware!!!
Fun game, but don’t spend your money!
by Bakezori on 2020/06/26 15:21
I really enjoy this game. The mechanics are fun. Building up your base is fun. Meeting new people is great. But, don’t spend any money in the in game store. Small Giant has set their store up like a gambling casino and the house always wins. Being a free to play player is slow and can be frustrating because it’s extremely difficult to build a team of strong heroes. You need to build your base to lvl 20 (months of work) to get a low chance of pulling an outdated season one 5 star hero. Other ways to get five star heroes are: events which you will struggle with because your heroes are weak, season 2 & 3 which you will have trouble opening because of your heroes and length of time to get there, and spending money. Chances are you will spend money at some point. Small Giant has the game strongly tuned to encourage micro transactions and buying hero pulls. One attempt to get a 5 star hero will cost about $3 USD and chances are you will get a season one 3 star hero that you already have. The chance of getting a 5 star hero is less than 3% at best. That percentage is often much lower. Once you start spending money on heroes, the game can turn into a gambling addiction. Overtime, competitive players have spent thousands of dollars to get the heroes they need/want to be competitive. I am not a competitive player, but I have spent WAY more than I initially intended on this game. Download the game. Have fun with it. DONT SPEND ANY MONEY!
Please read before playing
by bean MC QEEN on 2020/06/26 15:20
I started this game over two years ago. This is the first game I have ever spent money on and more then I would like to say. Since Small Giant was sold this game has turned into money pot on the back of its gamers and enough is enough. They start you off with crap hero’s and then peak your interest to spend money to get better hero’s but then those hero’s are no longer relevant. Unless Small Giant changes its mentality to its players I would stay far away from this game. Beware!
Spending way too much money for so little.
by smart8of8 on 2020/06/26 14:36
Let me start by saying I enjoy this game very much, the problem is that you can get hooked on the game by spending money on pulls for new heroes and you don’t get what you really want. I still play this game every day and really enjoy it. I have spent time and money probably way too much money to increase my heroes, but then you look at your heroes and think oh wait so many heroes to work with but you still have to level them up just to make them affective in the game. Lots of work and play to get anywhere. My caution is if you want to spend money on this game set a budget first then use it wisely. In the past year or so I have spent about $700 maybe I’m not sure. One thing I would say is don’t go for a specific hero get what you can and enjoy it.
Save your time and money
by Humboldt1666 on 2020/06/26 13:55
Be prepared to spend several thousand dollars acquiring heroes and the items needed to advance them. As an example, it costs 300 gems ($3.00) to summon a new hero. For that $3.00, you have a 1% chance to pull something useful.
Good game but be careful
by lostdog1039 on 2020/06/26 13:17
It is an interesting and well designed game. It requires a lot of patience and luck. However, the lottery system in the summon portals is just a toxic casino. Do NOT fall for it! It could burn a big hole in your wallet and put a lot stress on it. There are also other nuanced designs in the game really nudging you to spend money but not giving anything back.
Save your time and money

This game is a cash grab and is near impossible to be free to play and progress. Been playing a year and spend monthly with little to show. Your welcome.
A game that takes your money!
by Hunt808John on 2020/06/26 12:34
This game puts deals in your face constantly to lure you to spend money and then they give you extremely low odds of getting anything you hope you are paying for. You could spend $100 and still not getting a character to play the game with.
Wish some things were better
by Grandpa Simpson's lost hair on 2020/06/26 12:19
I’ve been playing for 3 1/2 years and the game was very fun at first. I started out as free to play but after about 6 months realized that to get anywhere in a shorter period of time, or to get the better heroes I would need to spend. I understand they need to make money to survive but it’s gotten out of hand. Perhaps if I’m here in furture versions they will fix the duplicate 5* issue with a better solution and make the new buildings useable.
generally a good game
by no654 on 2020/06/26 08:38
i like this game for the most part. you definitely have to have patience because it takes a long time to level up and win certain levels. one big critique i have though is that the refill time for titan energy is kind of ridiculous.
CAUTION! Developers became extremely greedy!
by uniqueuntakennickname on 2020/06/26 06:18
This game used to be great and honestly still has the potential to be great, but it is being poisoned by greed of Zynga and/or Small Giant Games directly. They’ve completely stopped listening to player feedback, have indicated they don’t care if we’re happy or not, and still continue to grab at your wallet with all sorts of new summoning opportunities. The problem is, ascension items are so (intentionally) rare that you often can’t level the heroes you spend big money to get unless—yep, you guessed it— you buy ascension items! Additionally, there is no suitable system for duplicate heroes so even if you’re supremely lucky to summon a legendary 5*, it may be one you already have, and, therefore, a total waste. I will happily change this review to a better one once the developers realize that they need to care about the happiness of loyal players instead of just operating a revolving door where they milk you for all they can and then kick you in the butt on your way out.
Love it! But...
by jettgirl63 on 2020/06/25 21:50
This game is fantastic. I’ve played it for months with my friends and it’s a great game HOWEVER, You can join an alliance but can’t trade items with each other and that doesn’t make sense. If we could just trade with each other this game would be so much better! Plus better matchmaking when it comes to wars would be nice.
Game stopped working after an upgrade.

An update
by DeltaRAIL on 2020/06/24 15:25
This game cheats. Plain and simple. The PvP is severely unbalanced leading to defending teams attacking 3-4 times with their specials before your team can even fire 1. The RNG is also heavily biased. Hard pass. How this game gets a 4.7 is beyond me. Review padding I’d assume. Don’t waste your time. SmallGiant and Zynga are the EA of mobile gaming. Except when EA makes a mobile game. They don’t care about their players. They care about making money. Oh, and the new update seems to have made everything I’ve mentioned before worse! I used to think this was the best Puzzle RPG out there, certainly better than Marvel Puzzlequest, but now it’s just as bad. They’ve changed the RNG algorithm and now it’s almost impossible to win a PVP fight the first time, if at all.

I’ve been playing for pretty much 2 years now and I finally got a 5 star. It takes a lot of time and effort I run my own alliance and they’ve stuck by me since day 1. I love that there are so many aspects just wish they dropped rare ascension items more often I’ve needed to ascend my 4 stars for quite a while now. Otherwise no complaints.

I just spent $for 1000 gems 💎 to get hopefully a new hero.. long behold I’ve been duped they gave me carver & 2 other 3 star & for the last summons I got a 3 ⭐️ bat Really, I was even vip before this & got nothing better. I don’t even have any 5 ⭐️ and the boards are 🤦🏽‍♀️ Just play at ease and don’t count on your money to help. Also after giving heartfelt reviews your game definitely suffers. I think this game is going to be like those games on Facebook when it gets its “wanted amount “ from players it will shut down, I just wish it will be fair but after almost a year of playing it’s still not. I wonder if there’s a board to talk about these things, if not I’m certain one will be created very soon. Whether an individual spends money or not they should have a decent game play.. OH AND FOR THE JERKS & CRUDE PEOPLE WHO IS TALKING BADLY ABOUT THOSE SAYING YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GET GOOD HEROES WHO THE HECK ARE YOU TO JUDGE? IN MANY EXPERIENCES IT HAS FELT LIKE IT, THE GRAPHICS ARE COOL BUT GETTING A HIGHER HERO (LEGENDARY)AND PUTTING TOGETHER A DECENT/GOOD TEAM IS BY CHANCE. DON’T HIDE BEHIND BASHING PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU WERE MORE FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET HIGHER HEROES & IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ALLIANCES FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!JUST LIKE YOU HAVE YOUR OPINION SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE MIND YOUR TYPING! EVERYONE OPINIONS COUNT NOT JUST YOURS OR MAYBE YOUR B🤖TS 😒.. Took Note how this game now has an almost perfect rating smh, Well aware of 🤖 doing work when things get shaky
Well designed long term mobile game
by applekat311 on 2019/01/11 21:25
I am a long time gamer of all varieties. I take my hat off to small giant for this game. The game play is just right for a mobile device. It’s got enough flavors of puzzle, rpg, and world building to keep you involved. The story is campy and silly, but that’s fine, he game never pretended not to be a little silly—and I like that. There’s little bits of humor everywhere if you look. I’ve been playing for going on a year and change now. Still have stuff to do and hero teams to build. You also don’t have to spend money to succeed, at all. It helps, sure, but there’s no gating with money, just increases your odds of getting good stuff if you have more chances at the hero lottery, so to speak. It’s also the only mobile game that does group team building right for the small screen. Prepping for wars and strategizing how to win as an alliance of 30 some people has been the best part for me. Reminds me of when I used to have more time for games like WoW. Sure you don’t get the full immersion, but still get some of the feels with this little game. My only beef is what a lot of folks complain about, the raid system seems super unbalanced and is downright annoying at times. But, it’s apparent small giant are always working their butts off to tweak it, so hats off to them again for that. Also, this game is not for the impatient. Strategy is the log game sometimes.
Fruitless complaints
by Howi--thelions.den on 2019/08/02 10:23
I just wanted to add my 2 certs here. There are so many people that are writing reviews and complaining about HAVING to spend money in order to advance your 4 and 5* heroes in this game. Maybe if you want to ascend them rapidly but if you want to actually get into the game then spending cash is not really needed. I've been playing this game for around 2 years now and i am a member in a fantastic alliance who plays together for FUN. Granted I do have a hero that I got in Feb of 2018 as my monthly free luck of the draw and haven't been able to fully ascend and for the longest time I wasn't having any luck with lvl 20 training and then BOOM I started getting 5* heroes from training alone. Multiple heroes. And I've been able to ascend them pretty rapidly. Would I like to see some ascension items easier to obtain for everyone, absolutely! Would I like to see it not cost as much for certain things like upgrading buildings or research? Sure. But I get it and I still enjoy the game and I will continue to play the game. As for the "pop-ups" that appear....those are just letting you know what's being offered in the game. Close them out and start playing. It's that simple. The BIGGEST THING ME AND MY ALLIANCE ARE HOPING FOR AND WOULD LOVE TO SEE IS INTER ALLIANCE TRADING!!that would be fantastic. Other than that keep up the excellent work. Empires and puzzles is a great mobile game.
Addictive
by Pretty stone face on 2018/10/20 13:15
I do like playing this game, I have been playing awhile and check on my empire frequently. Maybe too much. I especially like the match game twist, it’s a bit more engaging than an idle RPG. There is always a new mission or quest to complete. Titan to gang up on, Heroes to level up, or something to build or upgrade. It is very much a long term game, not for the impatient instant gratification types. I dare say you are better off not shelling out a lot of money for better heroes. If you take the slow steady approach you will have the ascension items before you need them most of the time. If you buy heroes you will end up having to wait for items to strengthen them far too often. If I were to make one complaint it would be how the raids are handled. Never mind your team power score, or even the multiple times they have revised how they are calculated, they have little bearing on your ability to win raids. It all comes down to how many special attacks you get off. Who ever makes the most special attacks, wins. Special attack energy is almost always slanted. The winner typical makes two to three attacks for the losers one. There will be seasons where it’s slanted in your favor, other times it will be slanted against you. Those rare times you are equally matched a raid can last upwards of 30 moves or more. If there were not rewards for engaging in raids, I wouldn’t bother doing raids. It’s that much of a nuisance.
Great game
by Slawguhy on 2020/01/16 12:35
The reviews on here that state you have to “pay to win” and “never guaranteed you do win when you spend x amount” are Bogus claims. Playing this game is a marathon, not a dAsh to the finish. It’s team building; material farming adventure that takes months to get every character and item your so desperately wanting. The Months it takes to lever characters, upgrade buildings, play through the story and quests takes time and patience. You can spend money to get the things your so desperately wanting now with odd/chances against you OR you can just play the game and wait for the quest and tournaments to give you the items your wanting(takes time) What your goals in the gameplay can also differ. So any reviews telling you about bad character/teams or not getting them. Those people know they spend money with odd slim and change with every season. and spending money is no guarantee to any item due to the lottery/change type of buying. They tell you the % of chance to get certain items/ If your looking for a game you can dig into, put in the time needed to make it the team and build it have patience because they give you gem to spend, they give you many items to build you characters. Give this game the your time it deserves before giving it a review. **Happy Adventures Slawguhy
There is no “endgame”
by SandSprite on 2019/04/04 02:10
Well there is, but when you reach it you still have things you can do. If it gets boring it means your alliance isn’t a committed one (leave and find a new one!) and you haven’t figured out how to make weaker (epic) heroes work as well as the super strong (legendary) ones. Which is possible. Definitely a game for the long term. I downloaded just because an Interactive app looked cool and I’ve been playing for almost a year it seems! tip: the game & team building is far more fun if you DO NOT drop cash. Atleast early on! You’ll be missing out on the early-type of fun of the game if you care about climbing the ranks and storing rare items too quickly. Don’t get fustrated with losses, just have fun! Level up atleast 2 heroes of every color that are 3 star heroes before moving on to 4 star heroes. Repeat the process with 4 star heroes before moving on to ANY 5 star heroes. 5 star heroes are of little to no value for younglings because the amount of resources and items you need to invest in leveling them up exceeds their value. You could have 4, 3 star heroes or 2, 4 star heroes done before your at the 5 star hero’s last level! As you level up, resources come quicker.
Infuriating, rewarding, frustratingly fun
by Billy digital on 2019/10/23 22:10
Been playing this game for about a year now. Partly because I’ve made some great friends in my alliance I’ve been a daily player. The game itself is a clever combination of elements built around a core match 3 setup. The defining gameplay feature centers on the placement of your matches on the board dictate what enemy you hit, it opens up a depth of strategy and fun not found in other rpg/match 3 mashups. As others have noted it is a looong term game. As far as requiring money to advance, It certainly helps, but there are many high level players in our alliance that have spent $0-$20 over a year span. Most frustrating element is drop rates on items needed to ascend your 5* heroes. Honestly if you play a lot you will be able to pick up the items you need to ascend 4* heroes regularly, but those dang top end materials are few and far between. It took me 10 months to get enough materials to max my first 5* hero. This game is a grind, the greed of developers can be a bit offensive, but the irony of spending money on gems to get better heroes is the better heroes are worthless until you play the game enough to get the items needed to make them stronger so it is really counterproductive to your game to do so. Better off being patient, finding a good alliance and letting your team grow organically.

I’ve never put money towards a game ever in my life. Empires & Puzzles is the only game I’ve enjoyed playing. I admire the different deals you guys do with obtaining more gems. However, there are minor things that can be modified to make my rating jump to 5 stars. I just feel like you should be able to upgrade multiple buildings at once. Waiting 2 days for one building to finish is ridiculous. Either upgrading multiple buildings at once or changing the time frame would be suitable. Then, there’s the troops that can’t be upgraded. What’s the point in having all the same troops if I can’t add them to one another. I have 1 star troops just sitting there for no reason. I’m given literally the same troops every random draw. The algorithm for that should be fixed to where it’s not so rare to get 4 or 5 star troops/ heros. And if there is a button to level up your troops then that should be more apparent. Instead of searching high and low to figure out if it’s possible to do so. Also, how are you supposed to use the emblems without any since of direction? I’m over here stuck with 41 of the same emblem because I don’t know when I can use it nor how I can. Other than that, I really do enjoy the game but it would be better if my suggestions were carefully thought out.
I’d give it 4 but
by Walker bait 3xp on 2019/06/18 09:53
I’d give it 4 or even 5 stars, the graphics & game play are really good, but I have an issue with the drop rates of the items you need to level up your legendary hero’s. It’s almost non existent. Even if you spend the money on the “special” promos you don’t get the items you need to level up past 70. Example: I’ve needed spy glasses to level up one of my legendary heroes. I’ve got 3......in almost 6 months of daily playing. 3. I’ve needed shields for 2 of my other hero’s for just as long. 6 months and I still can’t get the needed ingredients to level anyone up. Also the drop rates for legendary characters is very low to begin with, so when you’re fortunate enough to get one you want to level them up. A lot of players drop out due to this frustration. Really need to look at these drop rates as it turns a fun game into a grind & then it’s no fun. Update: our group was chatting about this and our group leader has had 5 hero’s that he hasn’t been able to level up after over 500 days & a lot of money spent. All of them ice hero’s. Since my review I came back to drop it to 1 star. The drop rates have gotten worse. You pretty much have to spend big money in order to level up legendary hero’s. Our group has been slowly disintegrating due to this. So if you play be warned, you won’t ever get anywhere without spending a ton of money & then still sit there with hero’s not playable. Congrats to the developers on making a money tree.

Now, don’t get me wrong; I really do like this game. I enjoy the story behind it, the game is including while using strategy, and also has an option where the game plays for you. The heroes are clearly thought through, and each design is unique to the type of hero and the way they play their role in the game. The play is smooth, with little to no lag. However, not every diamond is cut perfectly. During the game, whenever a move is played on an enemy, the hits have a chance of missing the target. No big deal, that’s to be expected in a game like this. However, my last plays of recent levels (and this may just be me not quite being far enough into the game yet to get past this) have shown that the moves I play tend to miss the enemies on almost every hit without fail. The enemies, on the other hand, whether NPC or player, have a much higher chance of actually hitting their chosen targets. Again, this may just be a problem with my game or something that is just unlucky for me. This is my only real problem with this game, though. Gameplay is relaxing and fun, and the occasional Titan that pops up is fun to engage with your teammates. A very well thought through RPG, and certainly one to be respected for the work and creativity put into it.
New games, new names, same problems

A needlessly elaborate schematic designed to confuse you into thinking you can play for free. Quickly gets too hard to do so. But more than the standard and expected money grab is the baffling added difficulty thrown at you to actually *play* the basic puzzle game. Upgrade a web of buildings in a long linear series to Recruit heroes to train heroes up levels to ascend heroes of five different types. With taking days to move each step. Why stop your gamers from playing? 1 star not for the money grab but the inane thoughts in the "boardroom" that this style of play is likeable by those that play puzzle matching games. Speaking of money grabs though. This developers here are masterclass. You can (and will) pay hundreds of dollars (I have spent close to 1000 on this game) buying *chances* to get what you need. And the chances are (not surprisingly) near zero. Exact chances? Guess. And you won’t have to guess who figured out that in their boardroom? You will be laughed at in that boardroom. Key items are kept from you from fully ascending you heroes though which can’t be bought. Ascending them *if* you get lucky and pay money is amazingly difficult at higher levels with months of grinding (during which time you will be spending more money). Honestly this game makes you wonder why anyone would deal illegal drugs. Here the developers have found something more profitable, zero material cost and somehow legal.
Most rigged game I’ve ever downloaded.
by AKSLIMSHADY on 2019/07/20 08:36
Seriously, eff this game. So many popups from within the app, not even external ads, make the game borderline unplayable especially right after you open it. $30 sale here, $20 sale there, and they pop up right as you exit out of other windows, but they put the “purchase” button right by the exit button so it’s easy to accidentally buy in-game currency, “gems,” which you need an astronomical amount of to do anything. Expect to pay about $70 in real U.S. dollars PER HERO to level them up to max lvl. Also, the Raids option is absolute BS, automated teams deal twice to 4x as much damage as your own with no chance to parry/block attacks. You maybe get 3-4 turns to beat an opponents team before you’re dead, because their automated dmg is 3x as potent as yours. Titans are ridiculously hard to defeat especially by small alliances, the developers beg for and all but steal your money constantly, they keep saying “we fixed Raids to make them more fair” which really means “we made them even harder because %$&@ you, AND we gave bots and spoofers extra damage and defense.” I want to drive to the developers’ studio and shove Colen’s fire axe where the sun don’t shine, this game had such potential and it just does not deliver. Money-grubbing, cheesy, extremely difficult without pay-to-play, unless you want to throw your phone out of sheer frustration and then ragequit like the weeb you are then don’t download this game.
This game is straight pay-to-win
by Adam Sessler on 2019/09/18 14:42
P&E is fun & addictive, but is ABSOLUTELY pay-to-win. You can’t be a good team w/o having 5-star heroes on your roster, & it’s virtually impossible to get a single 5-star w/o paying. Anyone who has more than 1 or 2 5-star heroes in their deck has spent hundreds of dollars on this game. The top teams who have their entire deck stacked w/ 5-star heroes have undoubtedly spent over a thousand dollars. People may go into the game thinking they can just grind & get 5-star heroes slowly & patiently. It doesn’t happen. Earning gems w/o buying packs are too slow; you will legitimately spend a month to earn enough gem to summon 1 hero, & get a 3-star. You have save & grind for several months to earn enough gems to draw 10 at a time, & you will only gets 3 or 4 star heroes. Realistically, the only way to get a 5-star is to do a 3 or 4 10-draws in a row, & earning enough gems to do that many 10-draws will take months, if not a year of grinding. The other way to get a 5-star hero thru a level 20 Training Center. Well, it takes months to build a level 20 TC, & once you have it, it takes a lot of resources & 2 full days to try to train a 5-star, but even then the drop rates for 5-stars from a TC is basically non-existent. A guy on my team in this game was keeping a tally of how many heroes he was getting from his TCs, & he had done over 70 by last count & gotten only 3 & 4-stars. That’s literally months of effort for squat.
Addictive & Fun

I kept seeing ads for this game and at first I was annoyed and closed it because I wanted to go back to playing the Blackjack game which showed me this ad. Then it kept popping up and I finally interacted with it and fell into its trap. It’s a well designed game with beautiful graphics and elements of RPG and strategy that I enjoy with humor thrown in. The menu is easy and fun to interact with. It’s a game that requires patience and does not require you to spend real money to advance, although it does help but absolutely not required. I like the challenge of spending as little resource as possible to grow your empire. It’s a fun challenge to figure out what to upgrade and the order that needs to happen. I normally hate seeing ads but this game has cleverly weaved it into its gameplay that makes me look forward to seeing the ads. The only thing I hate about the game is the raids but overall it’s fun and addictive. And there’s a good chance I’ll splurge in the future and spend real money to support this company and developers for creating such an amazing game. It’s been a while since a game has caught and held my attention and makes me want to play it. Well done!
BEWARE!!!

To new players who will end up being suckers and spending money on a off chance you might, just mighty be lucky enough to get what you so desperately need for you to win just a bit more..... DON’T!! DON’T FALL FOR THIER TRICKS!!! There’s is nothing I can not stand more than a app like this who tempts poor unsuspecting sheep into slaughter giving up their hard earned money or allowance money for no and I mean NO GAIN! When you see other players with all the “top stuff” it is usually the game developers, betas or a friend of the app makers or they are fools and spent hundreds or sadly thousands $$$ so they will have all the stuff you dream about, that YOU will never be able to have! You’ll spend a small amount an might get a lil better then you will say yes i might be lucky and spend more and then before you know it you’ll be so deep in a hole with absolutely NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT! It’s so disgusting of these type of game developers! They are no different than a casino a scratch off addiction and the drug dealer down the block getting you hooked so you’ll spend more! I’ve worked with people like this that make apps like this and that’s the reason why I don’t anymore! There are better ways to make big bucks on this app but to take millions from poor unsuspecting sheep is gross! Please players spend your money elsewhere or save it or don’t listen to me but don’t say you were never warned!
DO NOT under any circumstances spend money on this game.
by E&P's on 2020/05/31 08:08
Been playing for years. Not a bad game and can be fun. Like so many others, eventually spent a little here and there to get better. Then spent more to get competitive. Then a lot more to be the best. So why the bad review? Because the developers refuse to make simple changes to improve the game and are now making huge changes that undo months and sometimes years worth of time, effort and money. It’s like spending and working on building a house only to be told after it’s done that a law is now passed making it illegal for people to live in houses. Sounds crazy, but that’s what you are dealing with here. You get suckered into spending money. Also, they now list odd for the paid gambling to get certain heroes - but the odds are complete bs and the outcomes are fixed. Nowhere else in life will you find the daily defiance of the odds to the extent of this ridiculousness. For example, the odds of getting something good (when you pay) may be listed at 30%. Yet you can go for it 20 times in a row and not get it even once. That’s a 1000 to 1 chance. Yet you will see this kind of thing over and over. And the odds of something bad may be 30% yet you will see it happen a 9 times in a row over and over. That’s a 1 in 50,000 chance. This game had a chance to be great and to be honest. It’s neither. Best to just stay away from this money pit.
Awesome
by CyndyML on 2019/02/08 14:17
As far as I’m concerned, this is the best game out there. It’s like they took the fun parts of other games, and put them all in one. Gem matching for the battles, town building for infrastructure, hero cards for strategy... PvE for basic fights, PvP for raids, team PvP for wars. Find the right alliance for yourself, whether you want chatty, intense, casual... it’s all out there. They even have auto play if you want to redo lower levels for rewards, so you can do real life and just tap and have it go! You can definitely play for free. I did for awhile, but my personal philosophy is that if I like a game and play it a lot, then I want to pay the game makers for the product. I do pay for this game (get a feel for the deals, and wait for a sale). But, I get a ton of fun from this, and play it a lot, and I love my alliance which has terrific people in it, so I am getting good value. If you spend money on games, then I suggest setting an annual limit, and looking for deals along the way. Like I said, just personal philosophy; you can play for free with no problem, just advancing slower than those who pay something.

I’ve been playing this game since nearly its release. I’ve invested time and money into it for countless hours of entertainment. Game had its hiccups at first but the devs were good at updating and fixing them. It has a good social aspect as far as team play, given you find a good and active clan. However, in the past five months or so the game has been going downhill as far as gameplay. The loot system has been updated and now more difficult to win higher tier loot, so sad, and gaining 5* heroes. It’s a color matching puzzle game which you use to attack titans, monsters, as well as other players. On of the strategies in this game is using the color wheel in your favor, called stacking. Before the game felt a little more balanced giving you the colors you need, now it’s quite the opposite. The colors you need are ALWAYS far and few. The devs have indicated that Is not the case, but playing it will prove otherwise. So many people of posted this on the forums, however the devs (lying to their consumers) keep saying it’s not true. Posts have been locked and deleted. Although the game is free you can pay to hasten building, expanding, and pull heroes (random). As much time and money I put into this game I enjoyed it when the devs began seeing dollar signs instead of keeping their customers happy. No longer fun to play. So many other games out there that deserve my time.
Hm. Not so much fun.

I started this as a fun way to do a match-3 game during my free time. Somehow, it turned into more of a chore than a fun adventure. The part I dislike the most, as some have mentioned, is the match-up during raids. I know the parameters and what they use to determine who you match with, but it still seems like it’s not fair either way and definitely not consistent at all. The amount of resources it takes to get anywhere in the game is a joke, even if you spend money, which is not a guarantee that you’ll get something you actually need/want. It would be different if, like other games, the money you spent got you what you needed all the time. But in this game, it’s a huge gamble and not worth the risk. I’m getting pretty tired of the whole process. It’s not fun anymore. The only good thing I kind of enjoy is the alliance I belong to, which isn’t even a high-ranked one, but it seems to have some fun people so I like that aspect. Now with the wars added, plus raids (which I still hate because there is zero consistency and the matching makes absolutely no sense still), plus the usual gameplay progression, Titans, AND quests/events... it seems like there’s too much going on in one game. Things happen so fast I barely get a chance to participate and that’s disappointing. Plus I feel to get anywhere in this game and to be a competitor, you have to spend money. Not cool.

Customer Support is non existent. Been playing for well over a year. It takes a lot of time to play this game if you aren’t willing to spend money. So what is good, meeting other players and chatting. What’s bad, no trading post (the developers state they can’t provide this even though other games can) , the raids are a joke because the person can come back and get more points than you took, the challenges are fine until you get to the last level and then it’s so hard you can’t complete them unless you want to spend money. Saved all my gems for a ten hero grab, (where you have the chance for 3,4 and 5 star heros) and ALL ten were 3 star heros (statically impossible) not a single 4 or 5 star hero. When you complain to customer support, no help at all! But in the mean time they are upgrading things you don’t want or care about(like WAR which is another joke. I have tons of items I’ve won but it does nothing and is not useable. Oh and now my trading camp is fully loaded up, it takes food and iron for this. Now what can I use these massive levels of food and iron for? You can use some amounts for leveling players up but not this much! The rewards they give you are a joke. Now they have coins to earn but only on challenges (which you can’t complete) or chests (sometimes). Did I mention SUPPORT does NOT CARE, just a money grab.
Addicting

Definitely your candy crush alternative but with an interesting story to go with it (though the main characters seem to be a little under powered). I want to give this a higher rating but all of the pop ups you get whenever you open the app are ridiculous! It’s like opening a virus ridden website and the fact that the button you press to buy things is right where you’d put your finger to swipe is stupid and begging for cash. The wait times for things are crazy (a week for training and 15 hours for an item?!). The level system for tournaments and even raids can be all over the place (sometimes you’re matched with somebody waaay over powered for you in the tournaments and there is nothing you can do about it). The algorithm system has to be broken. There are way too many times I’ve lost battles because the enemy will be on one side of the screen but nothing will match until it’s too late. Besides all of that it’s fun and forces you to learn strategy. I appreciate all of the characters and how you can level them and their unique skills. Definitely something to fill your time until the really long wait times kick in. Have fun!
Once upon a time
by Robbs Review on 2019/09/24 18:39
Once upon a time this was a fantastic game. But since the December purchase this game has failed miserably. That was when corporate mogul Zynga purchased little giant. I have seen a game where you could find rare heroes and get decent in game drops decline into a game all about the almighty dollar. They say it’s free but unless you pay to play you will never advance. Case in point five star heroes. I have a few teams of them. However I have not picked up a single one since prior to last December. I have a moderately strong team as well (4100 power strong). Since the takeover the in game trophy count I have continues to fall. I cannot in any way shape or form even beat a team at 3500 power be it in war or raid mode. It’s not about my team mix for it is strong. It is about how utterly random the tiles lay out for an individual player. In conclusion unless a new player is willing to spend a lot of money on this game said new player has little to no room to truly ever grow and become powerful. As in most other Zynga platform games, what once was a fun game is now a ridiculous waste of time and energy for a player to have fun in a free game for the greedy corporation has decided it’s all about the money. A one time 5 star rating I have is changed to a 1 star rating. Avoid this game unless you are truly willing to spend heavy.
Great game... BUT...
by Trenthorne on 2020/01/06 15:14
Question for the developers - Will you come out and admit here that in order to progress much beyond medium levels, you must spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars to defeat the built in cheats? I mean there’s no shame in that, but I started playing this game because I thought it wouldn’t be that way. Once you reach a certain level (around 2500 team points) all of a sudden, raid matchups are never equal and you spend tens of thousands in food just to get a fair matchup. The gem colors in puzzles start tilting in favor of the opponent (ie you can’t build mana for your more powerful characters in matches) and finding the items you need to ascend your characters becomes nearly impossible - you can’t even buy them outright - you have to buy packs or “chances” at the option to win the items which, of course, never happens. Finally -and while this is fair it’s frustrating - the people who have spent thousands of dollars have all fully ascended, five star teams that are impossible to beat if you’re a lowly pauper like me. So c’mon developers - can you give us the confirmation or give us a hint of how to advance play if you’re going to try and say none of the above is the case?
Listen to everyone that is saying it’s a money grabber!
by dxplorah on 2019/02/21 14:57
This game started out being fun, unfortunately I didn’t read the reviews warning not to spend money. I have spent too much money trying to get top tier heroes. I got a few at first, then I noticed I had mysteriously lost about four of them. I got a quick warning that if I didn’t sign in, someone could steal your heroes but I thought they were talking about signing into Game Center. The warning would flash by really quick so I don’t know what I need to sign into. I joined the alliance so that i could play the wars, i think however if you win you should get more lives than just three. The timing is terrible because sometimes you play against alliances that have the opposite time zone so by the time you’re awake and free to play, you end up playing the players that are the top players and you don’t have equal power, you get creamed! Or worse, you never had a chance to play. I won’t be spending anymore money but because I spent an embarrassingly large amount of money already, I will continue to play.
My favorite mobile game ever!!!!
by Sharkbait5 on 2020/03/08 15:16
Please try this game. This game is so good. Makes me not want to play any other mobile games. The tutorial itself seems kind of lack luster but stick it out through that and you are going to have an enjoyable experience. I have been playing this game for two months and I liked it more and more everyday. It does offer pay options but it very balanced. I also think the V.I.P is such a great deal for $5 a month but again you don’t need that to succeed. I also love all of the heroes, excellent art work and very good attention to detail. One of my favorite parts is how much care goes into the design of each hero. The five star heroes really do feel like the best of the best and they have very unique attacks. I recommend joining an alliance, which is really easy to find on just go to the global chat and people are always looking for new recruits. This way you can have some friends who can give you advice, help you out and you will gain additional loot if you participate in the alliance activities which add more reply value to the game.
I just ragequit this game.
by Poopkis on 2020/03/15 15:00
I played for over a year and managed to level up an “okay” team of 4* heroes. After a year, I finally got a 5*, but her development stalled out at “level 70” for lack of the proper ascension material. This number is meaningless, though, because to get to “level 70” I actually had to ascend at 40, start back at 1, ascend to 50, start back at 1, ascend at 60, start back at 1, and then make it to the level 70 threshold FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF 220 LEVELS, and there are another 80 levels after that! But what really made me quit was the wholly improbable lack of matches during battles. The enemy can clobber you and gain mana every turn, yet your mana only grows when you make a match. The enemy can target your most important heroes first (looking at you, healers), but you can only play whatever will match, even if it means triggering an enemy special that will kill you. The game breaks its own rules in an effort to make you pay for gems that let you “continue the fight!” And during wars, the enemy gets even more buffs. My entire five-hero team was taken out by a single healer who literally couldn’t die because it received extra heals on top of its own. This game sucked me in for way too long, and in the end it gave me nothing but aggravation. I wanted to like it, but I just don’t need it in my life.
TL;DR: Get this game!
by sarawithout on 2018/04/06 15:53
I love this game. Are there issues? Of course! But the game is engaging and overall fun to play. You can raid other players for trophies and resources (food and iron, the in-game currencies). You can join alliances and battle titans every day, and with a recent add-on you can now battle other alliances in epic PvP Alliance Wars. The biggest complaint I have seen is that the loot isn’t always great. No, it’s not. But if you got everything you needed to be able to ascend every single hero from titan loot, you would be bored with the game and complain that it’s too easy. The point of the game is to grow slowly at a marathon pace, not finish it in two months at a sprint. Sure, you can buy gems and get those epic heroes quickly, but you still have to play the game to get the materials needed to level those legendary heroes. There’s always going to be someone who has better heroes, stronger teams, and more hams than you. That just gives you something to strive for in the game. In all, it’s a great long-term game with a great community. If you want instant gratification in a game, play Mario Kart.

Great game!!! Huge minuses is getting ancession material it takes a lot of time to get it! And also feeding heroes takes so much food. Last level 5* hero takes 5000 health it’s around 35 heroses in one level. That’s two huge minus of this game the other way it’s fine. In my opinion ancession material should be available to buy anytime in game store. Game is very disappointing because difficulty of maxed out your heroes that’s make players very frustrated. That’s the reason why people leave this game. Generally game is very interesting but small gigant should fix this two things. Feeding one her to max 80 level is taking a month it’s crazy who have nerve for that. Before you start play think about it. Hope so company will fix that problem and for the future process to feeding heroes will be much faster. And also players who spend money on this game should be treated better getting better lot and rewards. And also pull should be better for people who did second pull. Each pull should be better not worst. Thanks and have fun playing game

The age is 12+ but I never checked but I did check the reviews, I read more than five reviews so I downloaded it since people liked it. I am eight years old, second grade I still thought it was amazing, I love playing it for sure!. I like to play this game everyday every time I get back from school I play it because I think it’s amazing in my opinion. Sometimes I forget to play it, but still love it I’m super happy that this game was invented, not gonna lie. I love this game so much for the two times or so thanks for reading hope you could download it if you like it. Oh and let me say you have to match colors that’s the thing so you can beat the bad people it’s pretty easy if you say so, you just have to match the colors to beat them I’ve done so much levels that I love this game already and I downloaded it seven days ago!. Hope you could play sometime for the second time beacause it’s easy in my opinion everybody has an opinion, but here’s all my opinions, Enjoy the game.
Terrible design

As others have pointed out, it’s gonna cost an INSANE amount of money to EVEN HAVE A CHANCE to climb the ranks. You can drop $100 on the largest gem bundle and you are not guaranteed to get even one top tier item/hero/etc. The alternative is to spend literally months grinding out the same boring levels to build up resources in the hopes that you can get what you need to progress and upgrade a single hero. No exaggeration, expect 3-5 pop ups every single time you open the app trying to get you to buy stuff. Porn sites have fewer pop ups. I’ve played other games with in app purchases, but this is a whole new level of money sink. To give an example, clash of clans also offers gems for purchase. However, you can get exactly what you want upgraded if you choose to spend money. Here, not only do you get fewer gems per dollar, but this is basically buying pulls on the lever of a slot machine. I don’t even know how that’s legal while I cannot play online poker because that’s “gambling.” Absolutely everything in the game is luck based, skill is not even a factor. You’ll get a lot more for your time and (if you choose) money elsewhere. Unless you have a couple thousand dollars burning a hole in your pocket, or a couple hours a day for the next year or so, avoid this one.
Beware…
by cereal.killer6 on 2018/11/13 15:25
As many others before me have mentioned, this game is all about the money regardless of how it’s disguised. It will seem manageable to start off, but quickly becomes too difficult to progress unless you spend spend spend. The ironic part about it, is that spending guarantees you absolutely nothing! In fact, the more you spend, the more frustrated you will be that you did and got hardly anything, and nothing that you will feel is worth your money. The upper levels are even more difficult and the thing about this is you will need to upgrade your hero’s to even be competitive so you will feel the urge to keep trying for better hero’s but the odds are like .001 that you will receive one. Shameful money grab. You will read that you can play for free, but believe me, you can’t beat anyone or progress for free. This is ridiculous. Don’t fall for it...... I haven’t spent nearly as much as others and it’s apparent. My hero’s are stuck waiting endlessly to be upgraded, I don’t have a 5* hero and I get beat or loose all the time to those you do. This is no puzzle game either. The boards are controlled in some manner and you will lose in the end. Don’t take my word for it, read the reviews or better yet go to the actual community forum.
BEST GAME EVER

I previously wrote a bad review on this game, but I had to update it. This game is amazing. I truly must say this is the best, and most rewarding game I’ve ever played. All I can recommend is patience. Yes there are quirks to this game, sometimes the raids aren’t fair, sometimes the summoning isn’t fair, but trust me when I say it will all even out. They’ve really upped there customer service also. If your writing in to ask a question and not asking for your gems or money back, you will be taken care of. Again I must stress that on this game you win some and you lose some. I’ve spent alotta money on this game. And that is 100% by choice. This is NOT a pay to play game. It’s just gonna take longer to get the hero’s you want and level up etc. Give this game a chance and I promise it will reward you, and give you unbelievable satisfaction. GET THIS GAME NOW!!! There isn’t a better one in this genre, period. Thank you to the amazing staff, and for being a game that actually listens to its players. THANK YOU GIANT GAMES!!!!
Blatant money grabber
by Gammer579 on 2018/11/17 08:15
These developers are master class. It’s fun and addictive...at first. Honestly you won’t be able to put it down. It’s a well thought out rouse to get you hooked and then you’ll eventually reach a point where you can’t advance without paying. I’m not jaded and venting because I’ve spent a bunch of money and now regretting it. I’m actually impressed with how they did this. Listen folks. I have spent hundreds of dollars on this game. And I know what your thinking. But no, I’m not just venting. I don’t mind spending the money. It was entertaining and I had my fun. But really people, there’s no end to it. The money only buys you so much game play ability and then you’ll have to pay more to advance again. I was heart broken to read reviews about people who finally got a 4 star warrior. I have 5 teams all made up of 4 and 5 star warriors and I literally can’t finish the first story. I invite any developers reading this to look at my game profile and tell me And everyone else that I’m lying. If you are a person of means and can afford to spend the money, than feel free to do so. But be warned, spending that money will only get you to the next step. Rest assured, you’ll need to spend more to see what comes next.
Pay LOTS to win
by The Elven Minstril on 2018/10/17 14:34
The game itself is fun at the start. There is a lot to do and it keeps you busy. The cost of the main resource, gems, is reasonable and you can subscribe for benefits. But after a few months you realize that the rate of reward is a borderline scam. I have spent hundreds of gems in an attempt to get the best heroes, or the limited time heroes, and inevitably, you end up with low ranked rewards or duplicates. I have gotten my most powerful hero 4 times. And when there is a special event, you spend extra gems to try to get the new heroes, but get the same duplicates you paid much less for before. And the rare items needed to advance your hero into the highest power levels are so rare that my characters have been capped for months. Of course, you can spend hundreds of gems on “deals” that give you a chance to win them, but in all likelihood will give you a lesser item you already have little use for. I went from believing this was the most cost effective game to realizing it is a total money grubbing scam. Of course, you don’t have to spend money. Just don’t expect to compete or get cool stuff if you don’t. My wife and I realized this after several months of subscribing. Guess we got suckered.
Great game
by Glmpoo on 2018/10/13 01:34
In response to mycastle4acloud, this person doesn't get it. In order for game developers to make money and continue to make great games they cannot just let people have everything for free. This game is FREE to download and play. Do you not get all the best hero's? Do you actually have to be patient and work at something to get what you want? Might you have to shell out a little dough if you want better? Yes. This is how these guys/gals make money in this industry. And hey do games have some bugs, absolutely. Boo hoo that the matchmaking isn't exactly how you want it. Aside from all that, this game is wonderful. I was being bugged by the ads for this game for quite some time. Finally said screw it im gonna check this game out. As far as puzzle rpgs go this is by far the best one out there. You can easily play this game and not spend any money. I like the challenge events, titan battles, wars, and story. All of it. Very excited to see whats in store for the future of this game.
Addicted - However, I’m with the majority
by Mrs. Hott on 2019/01/17 18:40
Love the game; however, the fact that you can only upgrade one building at a time, unless you invest cash (and then it’s only 2 at a time with no time or cost difference), the tremendous amount of resources and time required to advance anything and everything, and then the ridiculously hard challenges that you will never pass if you don’t have special items crafted for (& plenty of them) - it all makes it seem as though the game was designed to get you to spend and keep spending money. Because trust me, just investing a few dollars here and there would not help you in this one. I’ve played games where it would/did; this is not one of those games; this is spend, and continue to spend if you want to continue to advance at a decent pace. If you don’t mind playing the same boards over and over to earn the required supplies, while building up your base and heroes, which I’m fine with, then settle in. Make sure you choose a great alliance like I did, chatting with your family can help pass the time and if it’s a good one, they will give you pointers. Sorry mine is all full :) Good luck
Good game but...
by Laurapow76 on 2019/08/03 00:11
I’ve been playing for well over a year. I don’t spend much on the game other than the vip pass which is like $4.99 a month. I get daily gems and 2 daily summons. The daily summons is laughable due to 99.9% of the time I get 2 one star heroes. 3 times in the year I got a three star that I have already. It took almost a year for me to draw my first five star hero. I have 3 now. I drew 2 and one came from my level 20 training camp. I have a pretty strong team now and am excited to keep growing stronger. I am busy and work crazy hours and I usually play daily but, I do have a life and I don’t always have time to log in and do much of anything. That does make it an issue with alliances. I decided to start my own and play by myself because I don’t care for the hardcore players giving me ultimatums. I enjoy playing at my own pace and learning as I go. I have had many enjoyable hours building my teams and my home base. I like that the game is growing. I hope for some new levels soon! I recommend the game if you have patience.
A few problems
by rhryrc on 2018/07/01 15:48
1.) first of all and probably the biggest is not being able to destroy or delete your buildings for the fortress 1 misclick and that spot is taken forever 2.) I’m pretty sure y’all do this in purpose, but the thing is, is that the multiplayer system is pretty bad. I’ll be a level 7(which I am at the moment i think) and when other to fight other people I’ll only find people who have troops who are all super high level with the troops being at least 3 star(note most of my troops are 2 star and the highest level I have on one is 13 not even ascended, so yeah I don’t know what y’all are doing, but fix it, and the next thing isn’t really a problem a fact, this game is a bit to much pay to win(by a bit I mean a lot) it you had enough money you could have a max level fortress with max level hero’s and troops within a hour or day, but what’s good is that this isn’t a game that sets a limiter of how far you can go without money(I don’t spend money) but this is a four star on a gameplay standpoint
Played since the beginning.
by Preakness1765 on 2018/10/28 03:44
I have been playing since the second month of this games release. I can say that it is fun, but absolutely ridiculous how low your chances are at getting five star heroes and even worse your chances are to get the items needed to ascend your heroes to the final levels. This game becomes boring, waiting day after day, month after month, for one good item to appear. You can pay $100 for a 30 hero summons and you get only 3* heroes, which you can get for free at the higher level training camps. These developers know how to milk their players. I constantly have full iron and food, and nothing to spend it on. What’s the point in having it if I never get the items I need to use my iron and food? Seriously, it’s addictive at first but after almost two solid years of playing, I’ve finally decided to write my review. I’m seasoned, so I know how this game works in and out. I will still play, but I think you should know what you’re in for. Don’t expect anything to happen fast, don’t expect anything for free, and be resourceful with your spending.
Sure, I’ll leave a review.
by Three Octaves on 2018/08/26 16:08
This Atlantis thing you’ve got going on, brilliant. You made sure that you can get 97 of those coins so that you’d have to beat at least 1 level on hard to get a character. Cool. Except for the moth on the last wave of the FIRST level. He’s OP. And unless I’ve already spent a bunch of money getting other characters there’s no way on Earth I’m beating this fella. I spent 175 gems to keep fighting, thinking that maybe it would be enough. It wasn’t. He can take out an entire crew. Just 5 turns. Unfortunately he had about 25% health. Which meant he could wreck twice in a row and still have 20% health. It’s a nice mix between “very clever way of getting people to spend money” and “good lord I have to delete this because I’m not adding it to my list of bills”. Thanks for the short ride. My dreams of having at least one character that wasn’t run-of-the-mill have been shattered and I’d rather just play sudoku now anyways. Sustainability is key. But by all means, swipe as much money from the people who can afford it and just start a new game once this one’s done. - Average person
This game is rigged
by okdokiegamer on 2018/12/04 02:26
So i’ve been paying attention for a long time now, this game encourage people to buy and spend more money unnecessary, they will match you with weak people but then “randomly” place your element jewels that other team is strong against, even if you reroll and pick the weaker ones, you still lose since you will end up building mana for weaker team to wipe out one by one. The stronger elements barely appear. Most people are competitive, and think their teams are weak but the truth is the game makes you lose against AI so you can buy more. Have you ever seen that randomly you can win much stronger team by oooh combo with matching jewels everywhere, and then boom lost 50 points where you find no jewels to match at all and keep building their mana the entire match. This is only happens in raid and not war. There is a time you can see damage increase or decrease, even your mana gain becomes faster if the game wants you to win, if not the other team just again “randomly” target your main character (when points win are around 40ish). This is not random, this is pre coded to make you become competitive and spend more. This has been my observation and experiences so far.
Money wasted
by Khaleesi1! on 2019/05/23 10:38
I give this a 1 star because I don’t understand how I can spend so much money just for you to keep summoning Ganju and Firar Tuck. That’s ridiculous. If I spend money I deserve better players but no matter how many gems I buy I don’t get good summons. So I won’t spend my money on gems for summons. I’ll just use it for world energy since this game doesn’t use a fair algorithm for players. And I’ve been playin for over a year so it’s really not fair I’m spending and getting stuck with wack people over and over and over. I left the game for a few months because of this and I’m debating doing this again. I’ve never spent so much money just got the game to screw me and continuously show me its a waste. I get it’s random but you have to see that I’m spending money to get the same people. I wanted a good Holy a month ago summoned Ganju 4 times in a row. Come on. And right after spending $10 on gems. My friend on the other hand summons Thorne and great characters and he spends less and has been playing less time. But it’s screw me right? And today I summon for a good yellow, after spending, and what do I get? Ganju! One star for being a game that doesn’t make me spending money here worth it.
Read the reviews but ignore the stars.
by pmn759 on 2019/01/08 05:53
This is not a good game for someone with a game addiction like myself. lol I’ve been playing Castle Siege & like building type games. If you’re a f2p (free to play) player, understand it will take time to progress as you juggle spending resources (esp hams) on leveling up, training, & making battle items. The puzzle part has become more fun after I realized you don’t have to rush to make your moves (except for the Titans). The monsters will wait for you to take your turn (or maybe even two) before they strike. Also, ghosting helps (i.e., shooting into a blank area) because you can build up your mana to use your hero’s special power. So, there is some strategy involved. Alliance membership allows you to chat we teammates which is nice. I haven’t been in an alliance v alliance war yet so can’t comment about how the AI selects your opponents. We’ll see how long I keep playing. If I could only train myself to play a few minutes every couple of hours I could keep up with my real work. lol.
Awesome Game
by Karatekid218 on 2019/10/01 16:17
I have been playing this game for almost a year and a half. In that timespan, this game has continued to evolve - Raid tournaments, season 2 (Atlantis),more quests and heroes, more stronghold levels and corresponding buildings. The game constantly keeps you entertained. It can be difficult and requires trial and error with the composition of your team. However, anyone that says you NEED to pay to win is mistaken. Changing the combinations of your teams makes all the difference. This will help you defeat stronger titans, do better in raid tournaments and wars, and advance through the story mode faster. These events is directly responsible for your ability to collect ascension items. Ascension items are not common and can be challenging - but that’s how it should be. If it was easy to get items needed the game would get quite boring. It’s not and I don’t intend on stopping any time soon, especially with teasers about a season 3 coming soon!
It is what is but can be fun at s risk
by C from the bay area on 2019/02/09 10:17
Let’s face it, the reviews you see about people complaining about all the money spent are 100% true!!! You can play this game without spending tons of money but it might get tedious and boring. You can also drop loads of cash and still hit s brick wall because you don’t have rare items to level your heroes with. The money complaint is ridiculous because most of the interactive games cost money to play now. Yes, we’re all fools for paying so much to play the same games o we and over. I’ve been playing this game for almost 300 days now and I like it. It isn’t as stressful as games like GOW where it’s all about spending. As I stated earlier, you can play with small amounts spent or none at all but it might bore you. Join an alliance and play twice a day and you will level up but not as fast as some who spend. The big complaint is that you can’t trade items in your alliance to other, you can’t trade or buy needed items (which I understand the buying part because that can make the game turn into a pay to play), but at least you should be able to trade the awarded items for ones you need. I have 20 worm capes and need 1 hidden dagger. I’ll give up 10 of those capes for this item but I can’t. That is fair so players can grow. You also can’t do some of the basic chat groups or copy and paste as in other games. Overall, fun game that takes time but it won’t cost you an arm and a leg unless you want to spend it.
No good loot after a certain point
by Silky112 on 2019/03/22 14:02
I been playing this game for a while now. I thought it was the coolest game ever when I first started. A puzzle game combined with an RPG fighting game is brilliant. How now that I reached a certain level in the game I am really stuck at this level because I can’t Ascend my hero’s to the next level so I may keep upgrading them due to lack of resources. The same says these resources can be found by doing certain events however I had participated in many of those events for months now and all I get is the same loot drops. I understand the developers don’t want to be an easy game however it shouldn’t be completely impossible as well. Oh and like many other views on here I found the game offers a small fraction of the resources required as a bundle with other items you can get easily for a hefty price of real world cash. So maybe that’s their angle. I would give this game 4 or 5 stars once they correct the lack of resources drop in the game, or just make an happy hour weekly or daily that you have a guarantee chance of getting the resources need to upgrade hero and troops.
PvP system is frustrating
by JH116 on 2017/11/28 00:33
The game overall is decent. I like the building and collecting resources and progressing through the campaign world. The system is set up so you have team power that should be a gauge to how easy or hard fighting another player will be or certain quests should be in relation to your team. This is where it falls short and is terrible and frustrating. In PvP you can see what your opponents team power is in relation to yours and combat should be based on that. It isn’t!!. The developers decided to make team power irrelevant. When combating another player who should be relatively easy because their power is significantly lower then yours still somehow destroys you. Even the team you have for some reason doesn’t increase in their special abilities like I. The campaign by your opponent seems to always get their special abilities. It’s incredibly frustrating and it’s like the developers just made it this way to make you want to buy things in game to get stronger part members. So even if you have a higher team power you can still be totally annihilated by a much weaker player. It’s ridiculous. I deleted the game!! Don’t bother with this game.

Good luck and have fun...don’t spend your rent money on this game.

by d book bdehe on 2020/07/01 17:44
I’ve been playing this game for about a year and I’ve yet to get one of the monthly special characters.

Don’t spend your money!

Great game but they only reward you-tubers with Legendary hero's! I’ve spent an embarrassing amount on this stupid game and have 0 Legendary hero’s awarded to me. It’s a rip off!

Give me a game using that element alone and I’ll give it five stars!

by kingkarlito23 on 2020/06/30 07:29
This is a trap to make people spend money irresponsibly, on a chase for a hero that you have 0.3 or 1.5 percent of getting.... is the most cruel thing I’ve ever seen in a game!

All this can be done without spending it just takes longer, it’s worth to play and can be enjoyed as long as you don’t put any money into it.

by Eremela on 2020/06/28 21:08
I’ve played the game for almost 2 years.

Loyal customers getting screwed
by DRockStarHippie on 2020/06/26 23:33
I love playing this game.

Love it! But...

An update
by DeltaRAIL on 2020/06/24 15:25
This game cheats.

Adjustments

Hit to miss ratio
by Ashfoot01 on 2019/04/12 04:15
Now, don’t get me wrong; I really do like this game.
New games, new names, same problems
by Al1223 on 2018/03/08 11:37
A needlessly elaborate schematic designed to confuse you into thinking you can play for free.

Awesome

Terrible design
by Glazed Ham on 2018/12/22 21:21
As others have pointed out, it’s gonna cost an INSANE amount of money to EVEN HAVE A CHANCE to climb the ranks.
BEST GAME EVER
by the801legend on 2018/09/25 03:39
I previously wrote a bad review on this game, but I had to update it.
