Doesn’t work needs to be updated

I’m trying to use the app (Feb 2021) with my ML Verse sound bar and iPhone 12 pro max. The app initializes but fails when taking the first reading giving the message “excessive noise.” There’s no noise. Just an old app that doesn’t work.
Time to get back to my receiver
by klammekut on 2020/08/07 20:39
What a absolute disappointment this anthem ordeal has been to me. They clearly are baby stepping it into the world of avr. The app is a hit and miss, my mic worked 2 times on my laptop. Then stopped recognizing the mic, so used the app on my phone. Which is “so so “ but did the trick Now half way in measuring .. drops a error and pops me out of the app. I will steer away from anthem products hence forward, it’s not worth all the hassles I’ve been through.
Will not connect
by dp3531 on 2020/06/08 03:18
Why can’t anthem just license apps from denon or Sony along with equipment firmware and features software. You guys are trying but not succeeding. The arc should be be simple on the app and using a mic but that’s not the case. Please contact denon to make life easier for your customers. Anthem should stick what they do best is sound and outsource all wifi, streaming, usb input flexibility and the rest. As a longtime customer I would appreciate that you catch up to the modern WiFi and internet age.
Works great for me. Used several times.
by AustinDan on 2019/02/22 06:08
Since I don’t have a Windows PC, I borrowed a friends to use the ARC software initially. It worked great after we figured out some network issues. Now that the iOS app is available, it has worked great for me on the iPhone X. I just plug a live Ethernet cable into my MRX receiver, turn it on, and run the app. Had some issues originally (excesses background noise message) but these went away after I cleaned some debris from the Mic port on the iPhone. Probably not as accurate as using the calibrated mic, but seems to give me good results. Used after changing my sub and adding audio panels. Worked flawlessly each time.
Worked first time no issues, but accurate?
by Bulletwisdom on 2019/02/20 23:58
Hooked up my new 1120 and had no issues getting the ARC app to sync and go through calibration functions. This was a must because like many we don’t have any Windows computers laying about. Two issues: I can’t figure out how to view the corrected graph for my room (probably isn’t in the app) and second, I’m not entirely sure my phones microphone is the most accuracy device in the world for this job. The kit didn’t come with an adapter to plug into my phone (an adapter would be a lot cheaper than the included tripod), and almost everyone has a smartphone. Maybe that’s what comes next. I’m looking forward to Genesis in April so I can rerun this with the calibrated microphone from my Mac.

The fact that nothing comes in this box for an iso makes me mad for $2500 no one should half to buy anything to make this product work correctly.... I will be returning this product tomorrow.. I drove along way to pick up this receiver to get home to fine out ARC wont work because you as a company are to cheap to proved the right products... I haven’t used windows in 15years... thanks for making this app easy for you first time and last time customer.. I new I should of got the ARCAM...
Ok!
by Frannie-B on 2019/01/28 07:45
Worked fine once I had the home wired internet connected to receiver. Found receiver and ran all the tests for 5 positions. Can’t find anywhere whether it is supposed to be specific where each seating position in room should be or simply most often.
Another “critical error”
by FasterWarHorse on 2019/01/23 22:24
The test tone players through the first 4 speakers and will not play through the 5th. Useless. I spent $2500 on an amp with the promise that this would work as I don’t have windows to run the included software. It will go back. I’m sure I can find better support from someone else at this price point.
Another dissatisfied customer..

I,too, can’t get through a setup without fatal problems. It will get through the front three speakers, then ask to point the device toward the right rear, it starts that measurement, but fails every time. Excessive background noise and low volume are the reasons it gives, even when I’m sitting in a quiet room, and the test tones are very loud. Anthem receivers are quite expensive, it’s a shame that this software is the best that they can offer for room correction, and they won’t make an app for Apple computers.
Excellent!!!

I do not know what the other reviewers are talking about! This app worked like a charm. I was finished in less then 5 minutes. My Martin Logan dynamo600X is only 3 days old so I’m not sure whether the room correction makes an audible difference but as far as ease of use it was smooth as butter.

App seems to work fine, but while measuring the third listening position, always has an error for me, loses connection to the MRX, and the test time just keeps going until I restart the ARC or shut the unit off. The Windows desktop app worked fine, but not everyone has a Windows machine/laptop laying around to use. Still enjoying getting to know the MRX, but this app, as reviewed by others, is a good idea but was worthless to me.

by fisheresque on 2018/02/07 12:35
It’s 2018. Anthem is advertising iOS features on its products while at the same time not ACTUALLY offering apple support. There is no cable provided in the ARC kit that allows you to plug the calibrated microphone into your iOS device as the app instructs you to do. Go ahead and try to use your internal mic and the app crashes every time! “Critical Error” Arc could not complete measuring due to a critical audio problem. This is top of the line equipment! Someone over there is dropping the ball in a major way!

Doesn't work
by Jasper Weinberger on 2017/08/23 05:07
And no support from Anthem. Says it connects at the beginning, runs all the tests, then says it's optimizing and uploading, then back to the home screen. The AVM 60 says that ARC is in process during that time, then goes back to idle. But there is no date or ARC file created. No error messages saying that it didn't complete on the AVM or iPhone. Should be removed from the App Store if they aren't going to properly support it or fix it. I generally have a good view of Anthem as a company, but ARC Mobile is a failure and an embarrassment.
Buggy, poor functionality
by Baggins55 on 2017/03/15 18:31
I wrote a long detailed review but the App Store advised me the username was taken and deleted the whole thing. So the short version is I've tried 6 times (AVM 60) and never gotten past the 4th position. It locks and says lost connection but the AVM is fine so maybe the phone? App does not offer quick sweeps of single speakers and doesn't ask for your phone model (mine is 7plus) so it doesn't know anything about your microphone. My advice is do it right, dig out the stand and microphone and laptop and you'll be much happier.
Don't waste your time.
by !Just Kurt! on 2016/12/03 00:08
App connects to Anthem hardware ok, but here's the thing. You spend all the time running the ARC test only to have the app crash upon completion. Garbage.

by fisheresque on 2018/02/07 12:35
Someone over there is dropping the ball in a major way!

doesn’t even connect.
Garbage.
Ok!
by Frannie-B on 2019/01/28 07:45
Worked fine once I had the home wired internet connected to receiver. Found receiver and ran all the tests for 5 positions. Can’t find anywhere whether it is supposed to be specific where each seating position in room should be or simply most often.

Another dissatisfied customer..
by RichFo1 on 2018/10/22 23:53
I,too, can’t get through a setup without fatal problems.
I bough the mrx720 4 hrs ago

The fact that nothing comes in this box for an iso makes me mad for $2500 no one should half to buy anything to make this product work correctly.... I will be returning this product tomorrow.. Started to work, never made it through.

App works fine on my iPhone 6S

Another “critical error”
by FasterWarHorse on 2019/01/23 22:24
The test tone players through the first 4 speakers and will not play through the 5th. Useless. I spent $2500 on an amp with the promise that this would work as I don’t have windows to run the included software. It will go back. I’m sure I can find better support from someone else at this price point.
Worked perfect on 1120

No issues. Instantly synced! Perfect.
Doesn’t work needs to be updated
by ShovelFLH on 2021/02/21 03:47
I’m trying to use the app (Feb 2021) with my ML Verse sound bar and iPhone 12 pro max.
Doesn't work

Tried this app with multiple iOS devices (iPhone 6 & 7 and iPad) and it just will not work. Contacted Anthem support and they. Told me to get a Windows computer. Go figure.
Doesn't work!

What a piece of crap! Don't waste you time on this. I'm alone in the house; nothing else running, yet I get an error saying "excessive background noise". Seriously?
