Description
Nurture a small pot of succulents that grow in real time. viridi is a safe haven, a place you can return to for a moment of peace and quiet whenever, and wherever you need it. While not fully realistic (they're very forgiving), your succulents will require some maintenance and can die from over- or under-watering. Name your favorite plants, give them special care and attention, and they might even flower for you. viridi is free to try and comes with your choice of plant assortment. If you think it has a place in your life, you can buy your favorite plants from the in-game nursery for just a few cents a piece. Remember to visit the nursery occasionally for your weekly free seeding! -- "Designed to be the ideal happy place game ... viridi is a primer, a simulation, and a love letter to this branch of botany, all rolled into one" - Fast Company "Yes, you do need an ultra-zen video game about growing succulents ... tending to these digital plants offers a seriously calming experience" - The Huffington Post "The most chilled out and peaceful game I've ever seen" - Upworthy "In addition to learning about real-life varieties of succulents, what you are learning when you play games of this type is how to create a quiet, mindful moment in your day using unusual tools" - National Geographic

PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIND THE INSTRUCTIONS- Figuring out how to play the game with instructions that don’t work is not a way to attract people to what looks like an interesting APP. IS IT A SECRET?
Thumbs up !!
by silent.eyes on 2019/10/15 07:59
This game is really peaceful. There isn’t many ads, it has soft colors, and the music is smooth and relaxing. Would recommend this!!!!
I love it
by Davolka on 2019/10/14 04:58
I've been playing this forever. I love tending plants and watching them grow and change. It's very relaxing and helps a lot with my anxiety by giving me something to focus on and keep me busy. I love plants and flowers and have tons of them irl. I wanted to know if you could develop, or if you could reach out to the creators about making app like this where you tend other kind of plants like flowers too. A flower garden app or something similar would be great.
Good, but short

I liked playing, but it felt like I hit a point where I’d done everything there was to do. Fun if this is really your thing!

wonderful ‘game’

great relaxing game for non gamers! but need more updates please and another free pot, a small pot maybe?.. more plants/succulents, different backgrounds, and maybe TWO free seedlings a week instead of one! this is my new favorite game, just wish there was more updates even though it’s an older game. highly highly recommend for non gamers!
Could be improved

Relaxing game
by SavorChan on 2019/08/07 22:26
I really like it It’s not exactly a game but more of a pet The graphics are really cute and the music is really pretty It’s a great app for when you’re bored or stressed and need a couple minutes to cool down.. and you get to learn about succulents while you’re at it :) Overall a great app
I Love it!!
by Zoe56892 on 2019/08/03 23:25
I don’t know how many times I can say it! I love this game! It is beautiful, relaxing, NOT time consuming, and fun! This app is beautiful. It is a plant game where you grow a pot of succulents in real time. The color scheme of the rest of the app follows the colors of succulents (one of the reasons I love succulents). It uses pale greens, blues, purples and earthy tones. Nothing is in your face or vibrant. It is great for relaxing, such as I check on my pot before I go to bed and when I wake up. This game is relaxing. There are NO ADS!! This game has not one ad. So, you don’t have to worry about some crazy music blasting out of your phone randomly, or anything of the sort. There is just you and your pot. As afore mentioned, the color scheme is relaxing, but so is the game play. This apps whole premise is to grow plants, but the creators of this app have so wonderfully executed the tranquil experience of actually growing plants I just cannot even explain it. You just tap away weeds and water your succulents and enjoy the little snail that slowly circles your pot (wow cute😉). This game is not time consuming! You just open it for a minute, make sure your plants are doing ok and then you can move on with your day. You don’t have to spend an hour a day. You just visit when it’s convenient. Since the plants grow in real time (the weeds, not so much) you don't even have to check it daily, which, for someone like me with a busy life, it is very appreciated. This app is fun! This app is the best app for all of the previously mentioned reasons. It is relaxing, easy to look at, easy to maintain, and simple to understand. The app doesn’t even have a tutorial or explanation. It is super simple. I enjoy the simplistic, tranquil way that this app was made. Thanks for reading this far. I am now going to move on to suggestions for the app developers, so if you want to know wether or not to get this app then you’ve got your answer. One suggestion I have is that you should make it a little easier to move around the pot. I would rather spin around the whole pot rather than just the selected plant. I would also really like it if we could change the angle that we look at the pot. Such as from above or level with the pot. Another thing is being able to zoom in. That feature would tramendously improve this app. My second suggestion is that we could have a list of the plants on the side of the screen or something, that has the stats of each plant. This way instead of turning the pot around three times to make sure we got all the plants, we could check the list. I would also really enjoy more stats for each plant, such as happiness or something. Thank you amazing app developers for creating Viridi. I enjoy this app and will always have it on my phone. Thank you again for all your amazing hard work. 5 stars ⭐️!

Very pretty but significant bug
by ncroom on 2019/06/27 16:14
It’s a very pretty relaxing game but it’s completely ruined by the fact that every few days all my progress gets completely lost :(. If this were fixed this game would be AMAZING!
Cute, flawed.
by Alex Werthauer on 2019/06/23 00:08
Controls are pretty abysmal. Most of the game is locked behind paywalls, but none of it’s actually worth paying for since it’s so frustrating to control. I like the snail.
Pretty but quickly becomes dull
by Write4u2mydear on 2019/06/12 03:02
I understand the concept is to present an app that is relaxing and thus, there won’t be any unnecessary “noise” or clutter included, but Viridi feels...lacking. Without making any purchases, the app is quiet limited. It is neat how the plants grow in real time but I wish more features were included to really help the user submerge in the feeling of relaxation. Even the addition of ambience or background sound effects (like rain or a fountain) would add to the overall appeal of the app but as it stands now, I feel the app is very limited in its function and ability to help the user relax.

i love this game so much. it was, at one point, one of the things that kept my life stable and on-schedule. plus, it’s incredibly cute and relaxing. i would love to see this app expanded upon; i love it so, so much. (i also want to be able to give the cute little snail a friend, please let us do that 😭)
So peaceful
by tigercait on 2019/05/18 02:25
I love how calm this app is. There's no pressure, no tapping, just lovely plants that slowly but surely grow for you. I often open this as the last iPad thing I do before bed and breath along with the gentle camera motion after watering them. (I do sometimes worry about losing my grown plants randomly as some of the older reviews describe, but that has never happened to me. Hopefully this means that whatever it was has been fixed!)
Great game
by :) trees need justice (: on 2019/05/13 00:14
I absolutely love this game! I enjoy the app but wish that plants did not cost money as well as new pots. Maybe have a way to collect coins, selling plants to collect more coins. The graphics are gorgeous and well done. I recommend that this game to all.

My app won’t open ??
by Home slice bread slice dawg 69 on 2019/04/19 17:05
I downloaded it a while ago and have been playing it just fine with no problems but out of nowhere any time I try to open the app it shuts off and won’t let me play it. I can’t even get past the first loading screen before it crashes. I don’t know how to submit a big complaint so I guess I’m leaving this review with small hopes that someone could get back to me ?? Thank you
I love but one thing
by cuteitemslover on 2019/04/19 02:34
Ok so like if you impatient this is NOT the app for you but I think it’s a great app and is good practice for anyone who actually wants succulents but like they slow growing so.......great app🌵🌵🌵🐩
Simple, but effective!
by Megadeaux on 2019/03/30 20:30
I wasn’t sure about this seemingly overly simple app. Yet, I find myself returning to it daily. When I need a quick mindful, meditative break and during the transitional moments switching from the day’s activities to slumber. Two things l have recently learned which have enhanced my experience: “singing” to each plant makes them flourish and flower and a free plant is offered every Friday. This little app is worth a try for sure. It may be just what you’re looking for.
Navigation: B, Everything else: A+
by HQNikki on 2019/03/10 20:20
The zoom feature and screen navigation are extremely sensitive and can make arranging plants in the pot unnecessarily difficult, but that is literally my only complaint with this app. I love the variety of seedlings, the weekly freebies that gently encourage you to spend $$ without demanding it, the atmospheric details with weather and time of day changes, the way the colors slowly fade from plants that need to be watered, the ability to name all of your plants and pots. Seriously a beautiful app all in all.
Very good!
by Crazyorangehead on 2019/03/01 18:12
Though it could use a little more. I'd love to have more than one snail, Jerry is so cute but he needs a friend! The succulents are amazing but moving them around the pot is a little hard. I love how they grow and it also reminds me to check on my succulents in real life!
It’s Unique and My Favorite Game
by Adifondra on 2019/03/01 14:24
Its simple, relaxing, repetitive, and rewarding. Not many games are like this. I’ve had it for years and I’m still happy when I open it to see my plants every time.
calm but confusing.
by Qficoskjjckskfkkvosofkckcck on 2019/02/24 00:06
this is a really nice, calming game. but it just kinda throws you into the game without giving you any instructions on how to really do anything. i don’t know how to sing to my plants or use my weekly free seedling, and i’ve had this game for a few months.
Awesome and relaxing
by Nocte Umbra on 2019/02/18 05:45
I just got it and I can say just sitting here I’m more relaxed than I have been in awhile. It’s the music and the simplicity of the game. It takes all the complex parts out and makes it fun to play.

by acoyne4521 on 2019/01/25 05:47
I’d rather buy an app than be forced to constantly weigh whether or not I want to spend anywhere from 99¢ to $4.99 every time I open it. I like the concept, but I don’t want to buy every little thing.

It's nice to have a pot of succulents, they're my favorite plants, but with moving it's hard to find time to go out and buy some, so this is a great substitute and it'll help me time my watering when I finally get my plant babies.

serious suggestion
by ShriekingXxSilence461 on 2018/12/07 01:46
overall, this game has really helped me with depression. it's just something to check in on every day and take care of and look forward to seeing growth. like a virtual pet but it doesn't require you 24/7. beautiful graphics, i love the idea of the weeds and the snail is super cute. makes me feel a lot better about myself being able to grow such a beautiful little leaf buddy. now for the suggestion part. your graphics are adorable and magnificent. there aren't any on the app store and you would be the perfect developer. make a virtual pet game, please. a snail. slug, snake, any pet without a lot of maintenance, just like the plants but it's a lil animal. i've been looking for a virtual snail app and there's literally none. i can't own a snail, and the ones i really want are illegal. all i'm saying is that you should make a virtual pet, preferably a snail. please. you could feed it and clean it's box and check in on it's growing shell. you could decorate it's habitat. you can create a human model (first person) and only design the arms and legs, let the snail crawl around your room and let it climb on you. it's a nice concept, i don't know. i like your style and i would seriously appreciate if you make a virtual pet. i love the plants, they're beautiful, thank you for this wonderful and adorable game. 5/5, 10/10, 100/100.

Possible upgrades
by Awesome shananagins on 2018/11/14 08:14
First and foremost, I love this app! It’s unique, I haven’t stumbled upon one like it. However; that being said, it could use some upgrades. Like the option to watch an advertisement and get a free random seed. One per week is going to result in me getting burnt out and deleting the app. There need to be options for getting more than one free seed per week. Also, possibly an option to earn a perk that speeds up the seed into a tiny sprout would be interesting. I love the idea of this app though. Very relaxing.

THE ONLY GAME ON MY PHONE
by Siramasagenav on 2018/10/20 11:45
As someone who has a history of downloading games, playing for hours, and then deleting the game, this game somehow has kept me entertained for 3 months now. It’s peaceful and cute and just makes me happy. The first thing I do each morning and the last thing i do each night is check my plants. I think its nice that you have to buy the seeds because it forces me to wait for the free weekly seedling. This game is amazing at slowing you down and it isn’t addictive at all. I hope it gets more updates like winter decorations. Oh btw for new users, don’t delete the game if it feels boring at first because soon you’ll get attached lol and you’ll love it too.
Wonderful anxiety relief
by RaevynReaper on 2018/10/12 20:35
This game is fantastic. The colors and artwork are beautiful and there are so many different succulent and pot options in the game! It’s very relaxing and if you’re having a tough day, great for anxiety relief. The developers and their team provide great support regardless of your questions and it shows that they truly care. I’m hoping there will be another update soon. I love seeing the new additions.
The app is good..
by Discipleshay on 2018/10/05 21:44
This app is a good app. The graphic is beautiful and it’s nice and calming. But one thing I don’t like is, you have to click the plants to check if their thirsty or not, and when I would click a plant, the plants growth would disappear. And it’s so annoying. You guys need to fix that quickly, I want to be able to check each plant and not worry about it reversing back to a seed. 🤦‍♀️
Relaxing game..
by hannahxzash on 2018/10/05 14:16
Just now learning a couple of new things on the game, very mindful and calming.. disappointed you have to use $5 to unlock the nursery :( Is there a way to have more than 1 pot? Lovely game.
great app for anxiety, a weird bug though
by Small Pastel Ghost on 2018/10/04 11:09
so I have been playing this app for a few months and my plants were growing just fine until a weird bug happened. my aloe ‘blue elf’ plant had started growing the sort of flowering bit in the top of it, and then when I checked on it today, that bit was gone. I took pictures of the flowering bit and what it looked like when it was gone. even before that, my sempervivium had another plant with a flower kind of thing on it but it was suddenly gone when I checked on it about a month ago. where did parts of my plants go? can you guys please fix this or let me know if it’s something weird i’m doing?

Relaxing fun I depend on
by Raantuva on 2018/09/18 13:23
Updated review as of 9/18/2018: I have a major gripe with this that wasn’t an issue in the steam version that I can recall. The rapid day/night cycling animation when away for a while is akin to flashing lights. It gives me a terrible headache and/or triggers a migraine. I need to be able to turn this off. It’s making me ill and I cannot even imagine what it’s doing to players with epilepsy. I don’t always have time time to look at this every day anymore and this s going to happen from time to time. Make an option to disengage the day/night cycle when you hit the start button on opening. Old review: I have been enjoying this app since it first came to Steam and was extremely pleased to find that I could use it on iOS when I switched mobile platforms. It’s been amazing for calming my anxiety. I have a few suggestions for your consideration: •make the bgm sensitive to other music generating apps, not just the silence toggle and volume rocker •provide opportunities to earn new bowls and plants by watching ads or completing actions; not everyone can afford the $4.99 to unlock more space •add more bgm; it gets boring hearing that same song and I’d love to have an option to set something else or just even have a few soothing sounds it cycles through instead of always hearing the same one every time I log in to spritz my plants I don’t think it needs much improvement but these would really enhance the experience imo
Help?
by Ruru822 on 2018/09/12 02:23
I love Viridi! It’s always relaxing I fell in love with the plants. A week ago, I kept trying to get on but it just crashes! It still does it today. I’m upset that my plants may have died while I was gone. I had just gotten a plant that I’ve been wanting for awhile. Please fix this problem. It only gets to the loading screen before I revert back to my home screen.
Could not be ruder.
by bubbamaru on 2018/09/05 14:23
If I could give this game no stars I would. The game itself is fine. You’re virtually watching plants grow something you could do in real life so I don’t see the point. Contacted support about a charge I received and wish I could post a screenshot of the response from the representative. Could not be more unprofessional or uncalled for. When you put something out for the public you need to have the self esteem to accept criticism.
Great!
by Kookie w on 2018/08/20 00:06
I have just started this game but it so relaxing and nice! I just bought my own succulent and so it’s nice to know what to do at some points. Of course I can’t forget the snail! The sail is so cute and I love how when I spray it with water it says “wet”. By the way, spraying the snail for a long time makes you start to sing to it! I don’t have any complains for this game yet but so far, it has been my zen and happy place. So, good job.

Relaxing but only one pot!?
by Julia_Cookie on 2018/08/11 23:44
I LOVE this game but if you had options like to be able to do multiple pots at once would be amazing, and also if you can pause the game for a while because every summer I go away for a week and a half and I can’t bring my viridi so my plants die 😢 please make this possible in an update THANKS!!
Love it!

I love Viridi. It’s so calming and peaceful, and it truly is a place to come to rest. I love my pot and its serenity, especially my little snail Cryptil! I have had no problems and I am very pleased to be growing a small virtual garden that has also taken root in my heart. I’ve always liked succulents...

by Cubiekitty on 2018/08/04 03:47
Fun but could be more interactive- I would love to be able to propagate the succulents or decorate the planter. Terrarium building could be cool too. Maybe tips on how to care for the species? Perhaps more little bug friends. Beautiful graphics:) music is nice & relaxing.

#1 game
by maynarddaenard on 2018/07/21 07:12
Let me begin by saying, I play on apps quite a bit and I have never before written a review. I feel very strongly about my succulent garden, this game is really somethin’. It teaches succulent species names, patience, appreciation for beauty, and so much more. I haven’t spent any cash money on it, the different pots and weekly free seedlings are enough for me :) I highly recommend a download, I think this app is really a gem in the web.
Beautiful and calming
by Btubdtudry on 2018/07/20 01:47
This game was so beautiful! After long days, I could sit down and water all of my plants. Every part of the graphics was beautifully rendered and well done. 5 stars!
Mixed Feelings
by TheFanFics on 2018/07/17 17:53
I love Viridi, I was introduced to it by a friend who loved it as well! But honestly I have some problems with it: Currently the app won’t open for me at all. I’ve tried everything with the exception of deleting and redownloading the app, for fear that I will lose all of the pots of succulents I’ve nurtured for so long. Other problems I’ve had have been fixed in the past and I hope that this one will be fixed soon as well. It’s a very soothing app and it helps me relax during stressful times.
Love this app!
by JustARandomCatlover on 2018/07/14 22:19
I really love this app. It’s very calming, and very pretty and simple. Some people complain about having to pay for seedlings but I don’t think it’s a very big deal. You get a bunch at the beginning, and get a free new one every week. There’s also a price to pay for no ads, but personally I’d rather have no ads and have these terms on new seedlings. But I like this game so much I’m considering buying a new pot so I can have more plants and so I can support the app and company! Someone had an idea about having the action “break” and the description “startled” which I absolutely love, I think they should consider think about incorporating this into the app. Overall, it’s a really amazing app and you should check it out and give it a chance.
No more free seedlings... becomes stagnant
by Unicorn 421 on 2018/07/12 19:23
I have been playing this game for several months now and have a beautiful pot growing, however the last month or so I have not received any free seedlings. I have rearranged to make more space and have even discarded some of my plants to make room for others in case that was the problem. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue and that’s why I am rating two stars. What’s the point of playing a game when you have no new options?? It has become very stagnant! There’s no where to go from here without $$$. Boo
Very relaxing but I need more space!
by FitzBose on 2018/07/11 07:16
I love this game! My sister introduced it to me a few weeks ago and I was expecting it to be not so good (I am usually a person who goes for a more thrilling game) but here I am! The only reason it is 4 stars and not 5 is because I wish the pot you start with is large enough to hold all the plants! I would by a second pot but my sister did that and lost all of her plants in her original one. So in conclusion this is an amazing game, but if the original pot was a tad larger and buying the second one wasn’t scary ( the second pot is also $5) then this would be 5 stars.
Great and relaxing just a few held up gripes.

I’ve loved playing Viridi since I found it on steam then the iPhone. I’ve loved nurturing my plants and having a peaceful moment to myself. My biggest complaint is that after a while you simply gain enough seeds to fill your main pot and eventually they all stop growing. I would much rather have each seedling gain it’s own small pot so I can observe individual growth of each of my succulents. This barrier makes me forget about my plants more and gives less incentive to come back and water them and keep them alive.

The game is so adorable and relaxing, and I love that there aren’t any ads. BUT, it keeps backtracking my progress. I check on them about twice a day and do everything I need to but then suddenly they’re back to where they were a week or two ago. I love the game but I will admit that’s frustrating
Beautiful and perfect

Best app I have ever downloaded in my life.

GET THIS APP. NOW. YOU NEED IT, SERIOUSLY. Literally the BEST app I have ever downloaded in my life. So fun. So incredibly relaxing. Low maintenance. Peaceful. Keeps me excited with my weekly seedling. THE ONLY APP I HAVE EVER CONSIDERED MAKING IN-APP PURCHASES IN. That's how fun and incredible it is. So adorable. No matter what kind of person you are, please just try this app. No ads, just pure joy.

Relaxing and refreshing app
by Wisteria2909 on 2018/05/11 23:32
While looking for a new relaxation app, I came across Viridi. Being a gardener in real life, I have a fondness for plants and watching them grow. Viridi allows me to have a portable garden wherever I go. The plants are all nicely colored and I appreciate the botanical names with them. The choice of pots and the three different backgrounds are nice for customizing. The music is soothing. And in an age of lootboxes and dlc, I truly appreciate that Viridi doesn’t push microtransactions on its players. Yes the additional two pots and any extra seedlings you may want do cost money, but the prices are fair. The game makes sure you have plenty of seedlings in your starter pack so your pot looks full even without additional purchases. Overall a breath of fresh air for those in need of a nature break.
Good
by Jkpars84 on 2018/05/08 20:47
It's very soothing and pretty, I just wish the pot in the apartment weren't floating in the air. Is there a way for the dev to make it on the table or something? It's just weird.
Very Relaxing!

Don't listen to all those one-star reviews, Viridi is truly a great game! I love the graphics, the music, and how you get a free seedling every week! There's also a very pretty variety of different succulents you can obtain too! I let out a little chuckle when I tapped on the snail, hit the spray button, and the text at the bottom that normally says "Wow Cute" described the snail being wet Lol. I also like how the succulents actually grow in real time too! And besides, even if you don't like the game, it's free, so you don't waste any money on it. I even showed this game to my mom and she then proceeded to download it as well, and now once in a while we'll show each other our succulents if we want to! Plus, I grow succulents irl too, so that kinda boosts my appreciation for this game! Overall, it's a wonderful and relaxing game, and I recommend it to anyone who needs some relaxation, and/or wants to take care of some plants. Edit: Please fix the bug where you lose progress in the game if you do certain things, such as the time I had beautiful vibrant flowers on all my succulents, but when I returned to the app after a split second, they were gone! This has also happened when I was getting my weekly seedling: I went to try to plant the seedling, and I couldn't put it anywhere, so I had to make room; but when I exited out of the seedling planting interface, most of my flowers were completely missing! Please fix this!!!
I love it, but I’d like to name my plants
by BobaBoop on 2018/04/30 13:43
I love watching my plants grow, it’s a very nice and calming game. May I suggest and update with the ability to name each plant in your pot? I’d love to name the little guys. Where it says what plant type it is there could be a line with the name of it Thank you! :)
Big 5 Stars!
by bangtan_bun on 2018/04/28 14:16
This is the most precious game I have ever played. The graphics are very nice and I personally think it's just so endearing that you can sing to the plants and even the snail! It's also very cute that the developer took time to add minute details as well, like you can spray some water on the snail and it will become 'wet'. So cute! I love this game so much, thank you for making this!

Don’t say we get free seedlings once a week if that’s not true. I hear it works for some people though and if that’s the case then fix it so that it’s that way for everyone. Other than that it’s a relaxing app
Too many in-app purchases!

I really love this app and I find it very enjoyable and I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes plants or just wants a cool app; however, I find it somewhat annoying that you have to buy almost every single item in the app. Although you have to pay for other items in the app, I still like all the plant options and I love this app.

i absolutely love this game to death i don't even remember how long i've had it but one thing that makes me a lil sad is that i tried to buy the key to the apartment and the fish skellie but it doesn't allow me to, every time i press the button it just scrolls me the other way instead of selecting it. glitch or somethin
love the game, hate the crashes
by Fiendish dockside on 2018/03/17 16:15
I've had this game for probably a year or two and for the past few weeks I've been entirely unable to use it anymore. It used to always glitch and kill any flowers that popped up, but now I can't use the app at all, it just crashes every time. The icewater logo shows up, and then I'm back on the home screen. I've gotten all the updates since all the issues started and I'm getting tired of waiting for it to be fixed. The blooms never stopped disappearing, until I couldn't even get to my pot anymore.
It's okay
by djjskskdksodofjdisiciciwiie on 2018/03/12 02:47
I like the idea of the app but I think it's just a little too simple. It also costs more money then I think it's worth, you can still play it for free but is more boring that way. And you can't change the background or pick a place where you put your pot. And also it would be cool if you could get another pot for free. I don’t like killing the old plants to make room for new ones.
:: UPDATED REVIEW 1 YEAR LATER ::

I only had given it two stars before because I just didn’t fully appreciate it then, but somehow I kept it on my phone. Every other day or so I open the app & *tend* my garden bowl for a few minutes... a nice little quiet moment all my own! I wouldn’t really call it a *game*, per se; just a lovely little app for a quick bit of prettiness. If you want action, there is a plethora of games out there.
super cute!
by exo did that on 2018/03/03 03:21
I love this app so much and I recommend fo anyone who use wants to take care of a plant! Although I love the app, I hope you could somehow save your process. For example, if I got a new phone, I could log into an account (e.g. facebook) and my plant would still be there.
i loved it a lot, now there are bats and i love it so much more
by lovelyraincoat on 2018/02/14 06:15
i liked this app for giving me an extra place to go when i'm anxious, and it's been super pleasant altogether, but today there were bats and it made me finally write a review. the app is easy to use, very calm colors and nice music (that will play under other sounds, i believe. i've been listening to podcasts with it open and it just adds nice background music). i love the snail that circles the pot, and i love the descriptions that come with seedlings. the modeling is simple but definitely not underdetailed, and i love the way your plants develop. sometimes there are leaves falling in the small space of the world your plants occupy, sometimes the colors change. but today there were bats flying around my plant and it completely made my day. there are tiny bats in my little calm world. i love it. edit: my plants are gone ! i suddenly have the same pot style but all of my grown up plants are replaced with random types of seedlings. i was trying to find a way to start a new or additional pot, regardless, but just that it wasn't my choice, just a bug, makes me sad. additionally, i would like some more explanation for the menu controls, since i have no idea what half the buttons do. either way, i still love the app, it just needs some bugs worked out !!

As a high school student I’m often really stressed by the amount of work I have. This game is a really awesome way to reduce stress and just relax. It’s rewarding to take care of your plants (and snail). From a visual standpoint it’s gorgeous, it’s so nice to look at. I really really enjoy it and I like how it doesn’t shove in-app purchases down your throat.

I was recommended this app by an acquaintance after a really rough time in my life and I can safely say that the calming music and atmosphere and very act of growing and mildly caring for virtual succulents helped keep me calm in otherwise heavily anxiety-riddled days. It still does. The only thing is, I wish we could have more pots! Or a “retirement” greenhouse (instead of a nursery) where we can put plants when we want to make room for new ones to grow (I haven’t uprooted any plants, actually. Can’t bring myself to do it). That, and the rest of the little plant blurbs in the seed selector! I just discovered those today and I would love to see them finished.

I love this game! It’s a very good game for taking your mind off the troubles of busy life and just relaxing with your little plants. Something I do wish was available was a sort of weeding mode, where you can pluck the weeds without selecting the plants. That makes it hard to maneuver around the pot. All in all, it’s an amazing game

Calming, not very addictive
by VintageNikes on 2018/01/24 02:51
I love this app. It's beautiful and simplistic, and it isn't too addictive because they grow in real time. It's actually helped me get off my phone because I'll sing to the plants and set my phone down so that they'll grow, and if I touch my phone it stops singing and they grow more slowly. I love the real-time weather feature as well. It's cute and pretty, a really awesome app. Wish there were more like it
Great! Until you killed my plants.

I had a very lovely two weeks with this app. My plants were growing at a very nice rate, I watered them, sang to them daily, and took pictures to track their growth. I became very attached to my pot and used it to help motivate me to draw and do other tasks. I loved the app and was ready to spend money to obtain more plants. But then you killed my plants. I opened it up today to suddenly have my ENTIRE pot replaced with a new brown pot that literally just flopped on to my screen. It had my starter plants, but they all reverted to stage one, and the two plants that I had accumulated for free were completely gone. I tried to revisit my original pot, but it didn’t work. My app still had photos of my old plants, but they were gone for good. I am very angry and upset about this, and deleted the app to get rid of those new plants. I’ll redownload and start over for now, but if this happens again, I am coming back to change my rating to 1 star. There’s no reason why all that time suddenly had to disappear.

I remember getting this game on Steam. A year later, I found out that this game was also mobile! So, when I downloaded it, it was pretty much the same. You plant succulents and watch them grow. That may seem like a boring idea on paper, but this game offers more than that. There’s a very calming soundtrack, a nice background that changes in real time, and an adorable snail. I also like the fact that you can rename your plants (and the snail!) which gets me more attached to them. A little flaw for me though is that when you try to spin the pot around, it seems to go too fast for me, but it’s not a big issue. Everything is very nice and I wish there were more games like this.

Relaxing! Some suggestions...
by Mage of Space on 2017/01/21 14:04
I love it. I've been growing real succulents for over a year now and this captures it perfectly. Some may complain about the seedlings needing to be bought but honestly I find it reasonable. This is a free app and instead of spamming us with ads in what's supposed to be a peaceful game, you make the seedlings require real money. That's pretty cool of you. Also I've seen some people say the colors were dull when actually that's the point. Dull, light colors are more relaxing than neon. I have a little suggestion for the future. For some real succulents, you can propagate them by leaf. You could have a "break" option on some of them which then gives it a new status that's "startled" that hinders it's growth and you have to sing to the plant to calm it down. Then the leaf can be in the "your seedlings" section. But that's for the future. For now, try and fix the bugs that you have. I haven't played this for too long, but I'm really enjoying this. Keep up the good work! I'm feeling relaxed every day by this.
Oasis
by Rutilus Taborri on 2016/11/22 04:27
This is a gorgeously relaxing app, the succulents are beautifully colored and modeled and the whole atmosphere is incredibly calming. It's always exciting when you first click on the app and watch the time lapse catch up to the current time, plants grow and weeds sprout. The music is throughly lovely and the ability to sing to the sproutlings and snails is incredibly adorable. I love the fact that the little plants can be named! I've named mine after virtues and am considering buying another pot as this one is almost full. The new versions have brought excellent new content and bug fixes, adored the bat that came for Halloween. The new weather changes add to the overall feel of the game. Just last night I clicked the app and was greeted by a little swarm of brightly glowing fireflies! This is one of the most beautiful things I've seen all week and I watched the little lights float around for a long time. This game is certainly a little oasis in the long busy days and I'm looking forward to coming new versions!

Very sad bug

I loved this game, this was probably the most time & effort I've ever put into an app on my phone, it's the end of December at this time and I think I downloaded it in March or April? It's lovely and so calming, but after so many months of cultivating plants, planting new seedlings, and checking on them literally every day all my plants reset. Like, to the beginning completely. I didn't delete the app and redownload, and the last time I updated was in November, so it can't be that. I was in the middle of watering them and suddenly most of my plants disappeared and reset to the very beginning configuration (like 6 or 7 seedlings, not adult plants) I'd had them arranged so that I had 2 aloes and an agave all together, and a couple of the hanging down guys - it was a ton of plants - and now all of them are gone :( I don't even think there's an option to restart the game with new seedlings, so I've no idea how this could've happened (it was even a different pot, which is weird, but that's changeable so it didn't bother me nearly so much)
Beautiful app, but a few suggestions
by ParamoreFanEmilie on 2017/06/29 17:00
This app is very calming and the graphics are super nice. I've had it for a year and really enjoy tending to my plants. However, I think the app would be better if you could have multiple pots growing at once. I've collected many daily free plants, but ran out of space a long time ago and don't really want to change my setup. Even if another pot was an in-app purchase, I think I would pay for it. I also think it would be better if plants died just a ~bit~ more easily (I don't know if they can even die at all)! I've probably gone weeks without opening it and never lost a plant. This would give me more of a reason to keep checking back as well as a reason to use my stored plants, if I had no choice but to remove a dead one and replant something new! Overall, I'm glad to have this app and I certainly enjoy it.
Overall, it’s a really amazing app and you should check it out and give it a chance.

by Siramasagenav on 2018/10/20 11:45
As someone who has a history of downloading games, playing for hours, and then deleting the game, this game somehow has kept me entertained for 3 months now.
Lovely, great for bedtime
by tigerdawn4748 on 2017/09/19 05:01
I got this app on my phone a couple weeks ago. It took me some trial and error to figure everything out because there aren't any labels or tutorial. Some kind of explanation of all the buttons would be nice. But once I got the hang of it and my plants started to grow, I fell in love with the app. Now I have to open it before bed and sing to my plants. I love how you can set the pot gently spinning and it moves up and down like breath while it's singing. I do wish you could adjust the breathing rate because my breathing rate is slower than the app and so I can't relax as much as I'd like to because I'm trying to breathe faster. If we could adjust that, this app would be pretty close to perfect. I have to make sure I've played all my other games and done everything I want to get done before I open my pot of succulents, because afterward I'm ready for sleep and don't want to experience the overstimulation of any other apps. It's so wonderful to relax my mind at the end of the day. Thank you so much to the developers.

I never knew I could feel emotional after overwatering a plant named "Fred". I give you five stars just for that, nothing else. Update (Pt. 1) (I'll update this review as I see fit) One thing I really wish was in the game is little mini games that you can play to earn in game currency. With that currency, you can buy new plants or another pot (or to upgrade your current pot). Mandy you can have packages with different pots and plants you have to pay for with real money, or packages where you buy a certain amount of coins so you guys are still getting money. I just thought it was a good idea, but I dunno.
great app for anxiety, a weird bug though
by Small Pastel Ghost on 2018/10/04 11:09
so I have been playing this app for a few months and my plants were growing just fine until a weird bug happened. my aloe ‘blue elf’ plant had started growing the sort of flowering bit in the top of it, and then when I checked on it today, that bit was gone.

The person who said this is a "plant nanny" knock off obviously has no idea what they're talking about. Plant nanny is a water tracker. This app is a simulation. You're growing succulents. You log in every now and then just to weed the plants and water them. You can even sing to them if you want to. Really, the app isn't much of a game. It's more of a quick de-stresser. It's nice to check in every now and then when I have time and find that my plants have grown. Going through the process of weeding them, watering them, and interacting with them a bit is actually quite soothing. It's great.
No way to restore a purchase
by JesusofSuburbiaaa on 2017/03/06 02:07
I recently installed the app because somebody I know recommended it to help with anxiety. As soon as I set up my plant, I started tapping around because I had no idea what each button meant and intended to figure out the use of each one. I accidentally made a purchase because the button wasn't labeled clearly enough and my thumb had been resting on the home button so the purchase immediately went through. To make things worse, I deleted the app out of frustration, reinstalled it to attempt to find a way to restore my purchase, and the thing I had bought wasn't even there. All of this has resulted in an anxiety attack, the thing I wished to prevent. Label! The! Buttons! and Get! A Restore! Purchases! Button!
Great and relaxing just a few held up gripes.
by Atriious on 2018/07/03 15:55
I’ve loved playing Viridi since I found it on steam then the iPhone.
I love it
by Davolka on 2019/10/14 04:58
I've been playing this forever.
So peaceful
by tigercait on 2019/05/18 02:25
I love how calm this app is. Hopefully this means that whatever it was has been fixed!)
love the game, hate the crashes
by Fiendish dockside on 2018/03/17 16:15
I've had this game for probably a year or two and for the past few weeks I've been entirely unable to use it anymore.
It’s a very soothing app and it helps me relax during stressful times.
wonderful, amazing
by crashtopher on 2016/12/21 09:31
i've had multiple breakdowns before and this app's lovingly calm music was what helped calm me down each time. viridi is an awesome app if you want a nice, relaxing experience taking care of a cute pot of plants if u can't have that responsibility irl like me. P.S. to name a plant (or snail!) tap on its name, and to sing to a plant, zoom all the way in on that plant and leave it zoomed in. after ~30seconds, music bars will appear and your plant will grow a little bit faster!
Calming & wonderful, but
by britt.s2 on 2017/03/13 02:46
I love this app. It's a very calming past-time with it's soothing art style and music, and simple mechanics. However, my phone, which I used this app on, got dropped in water and is ruined. I don't remember if this app offers a way to create an external account to save your plants & progress, but it would be the best if it did so I don't have to start all over again. I've gotten very attached to my plants, so it'd be very sad if all of that progress and photos are gone :(
Calming, not very addictive
by VintageNikes on 2018/01/24 02:51
I love this app. Wish there were more like it
Great!
by Kookie w on 2018/08/20 00:06
I have just started this game but it so relaxing and nice!
Anxiety-Relief
by Mubaidianshang on 2017/10/06 04:54
This is one of the few games I actually want to write a review about. I use viridi purely for relaxation purpose because I recently got diagnosed with anxiety. I was first frustrated by how slowly the plants grow, but this game teaches you how to be patient: stop watering too much, stop hoping to see some growth every time I check this app, etc. I recommend this game for anyone who's tired of the fast-food culture of game apps!
Where's my free seedling?
by Snookerbear on 2017/07/26 16:14
My oldest kid introduced me to this game, and I love it, but my other child killed one of the plants by overwatering it. No biggie, you can replace it with your free seedling from this week my oldest tells me. So we remove the dead plant, and tap on the button to replace the seedling. It says we don't have any seedlings to replace it with, and asks us to check the nursery. How do I get my free seedling? Other than that, Great game, great graphics, super fun.
Boo
#1 game
by maynarddaenard on 2018/07/21 07:12
Let me begin by saying, I play on apps quite a bit and I have never before written a review.
So cute! I love this game so much, thank you for making this!
wonderful ‘game’
by I'm asleep! on 2019/09/25 16:31
great relaxing game for non gamers! but need more updates please and another free pot, a small pot maybe?.. more plants/succulents, different backgrounds, and maybe TWO free seedlings a week instead of one! this is my new favorite game, just wish there was more updates even though it’s an older game. highly highly recommend for non gamers!
:: UPDATED REVIEW 1 YEAR LATER ::
by the original elfarran on 2018/03/04 05:00
I only had given it two stars before because I just didn’t fully appreciate it then, but somehow I kept it on my phone. Every other day or so I open the app & *tend* my garden bowl for a few minutes... a nice little quiet moment all my own! I wouldn’t really call it a *game*, per se; just a lovely little app for a quick bit of prettiness. If you want action, there is a plethora of games out there.
nice app, had a bad glitch though..
by reishortmeyer on 2016/12/20 18:37
It's a very beautiful and relaxing app. I had a good time checking up on my plants and watering them, watching them grow.. but then it glitched and just as some flowers were really blossoming on my succulents, they got reset. I figured it was a one time glitch and kept playing but then it happened again so I'll have to delete.. This app takes a lot of time and patience and it's not worth it to me if my progress gets set back...
Too many in-app purchases!
by Greyson373 on 2018/04/23 22:45
I really love this app and I find it very enjoyable and I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes plants or just wants a cool app; however, I find it somewhat annoying that you have to buy almost every single item in the app. Although you have to pay for other items in the app, I still like all the plant options and I love this app.
Enlarged my world
by Aga Black on 2017/04/25 20:44
This tiny, lovely game has caused me to notice succulents all around me in real life. I notice their sizes and shapes and their blossoms in a way I wouldn't have if I hadn't played the game first. Now I see them and even know their names. As for the game, it's the gentlest of simulators and like any good simulator it gives you some of the feelings that the real objects it's based on do.
Thank you
So calming!!!
by soraismycat on 2017/10/29 20:34
I love this app so much!!! It is really calming and I wish my phone would stay on all night so I could listen to the music all night. The only problem I have with the plants is sometimes, the flowers on the end of my plants just disappear and it makes me sad :( other than that, this app is great!
Help?
by Ruru822 on 2018/09/12 02:23
I love Viridi!
Wow cute! :)
by Shazmari on 2017/01/04 06:30
This game has helped me so much. Sometimes, I have PTSD-induced panic attacks, and this game has already helped me calm down from them with its serene music and adorable art style. I love this app and plan to keep it on my phone. The sound that the water bottle makes is also one of my favourite noises in the whole world-all of the sounds in this game are great.
Kind of annoyed I cared so much
by kitlit135 on 2016/11/29 23:24
This game is really slow but really pretty - it's honestly worth sticking with and taking care of if you're interested in that sort of thing. Unfortunately I had to delete it after about 4 days of my progress being slowly but surely undone. I opened it to find all of my plants looking the way they had weeks ago. It's honestly not worth doing again because of this flaw, so be careful investing too much of your interest in it.

I Love it!!
by Zoe56892 on 2019/08/03 23:25
I don’t know how many times I can say it! 5 stars ⭐️!

Truly Amazing!

I normally don’t write reviews, but I just wanted to spread the word that Viridi is an amazing stress relief game! Viridi is a very soothing, relaxing game that can help you escape reality. This app lets you nurture a plant of your choice. Please, download this app! 💐🌷🌺

by acoyne4521 on 2019/01/25 05:47
I’d rather buy an app than be forced to constantly weigh whether or not I want to spend anywhere from 99¢ to $4.99 every time I open it. I like the concept, but I don’t want to buy every little thing.
Calming and easy to use

It's nice to have a pot of succulents, they're my favorite plants, but with moving it's hard to find time to go out and buy some, so this is a great substitute and it'll help me time my watering when I finally get my plant babies.
Cute game

serious suggestion
by ShriekingXxSilence461 on 2018/12/07 01:46
overall, this game has really helped me with depression. it's just something to check in on every day and take care of and look forward to seeing growth. like a virtual pet but it doesn't require you 24/7. beautiful graphics, i love the idea of the weeds and the snail is super cute. makes me feel a lot better about myself being able to grow such a beautiful little leaf buddy. now for the suggestion part. your graphics are adorable and magnificent. there aren't any on the app store and you would be the perfect developer. make a virtual pet game, please. a snail. slug, snake, any pet without a lot of maintenance, just like the plants but it's a lil animal. i've been looking for a virtual snail app and there's literally none. i can't own a snail, and the ones i really want are illegal. all i'm saying is that you should make a virtual pet, preferably a snail. please. you could feed it and clean it's box and check in on it's growing shell. you could decorate it's habitat. you can create a human model (first person) and only design the arms and legs, let the snail crawl around your room and let it climb on you. it's a nice concept, i don't know. i like your style and i would seriously appreciate if you make a virtual pet. i love the plants, they're beautiful, thank you for this wonderful and adorable game.

So, good job.

by Julia_Cookie on 2018/08/11 23:44
I LOVE this game but if you had options like to be able to do multiple pots at once would be amazing, and also if you can pause the game for a while because every summer I go away for a week and a half and I can’t bring my viridi so my plants die 😢 please make this possible in an update THANKS!!

Cute but...
by Cubiekitty on 2018/08/04 03:47
Fun but could be more interactive- I would love to be able to propagate the succulents or decorate the planter.

Great and relaxing just a few held up gripes.
by Atriious on 2018/07/03 15:55
I’ve loved playing Viridi since I found it on steam then the iPhone.

Very Relaxing!
by By: xXx Ghost-Rider xXx on 2018/05/04 20:34
Don't listen to all those one-star reviews, Viridi is truly a great game!

:: UPDATED REVIEW 1 YEAR LATER ::
by the original elfarran on 2018/03/04 05:00
I only had given it two stars before because I just didn’t fully appreciate it then, but somehow I kept it on my phone. Every other day or so I open the app & *tend* my garden bowl for a few minutes... a nice little quiet moment all my own! I wouldn’t really call it a *game*, per se; just a lovely little app for a quick bit of prettiness. If you want action, there is a plethora of games out there.
super cute!
by exo did that on 2018/03/03 03:21
I love this app so much and I recommend fo anyone who use wants to take care of a plant!

So Much Fun!

I have played this game for a long time, and I think I may have become emotionally attached to my succulents... It a great game if you can’t have your own plants or don’t want the stress!

Weeding

I love this game! It’s a very good game for taking your mind off the troubles of busy life and just relaxing with your little plants. Something I do wish was available was a sort of weeding mode, where you can pluck the weeds without selecting the plants. That makes it hard to maneuver around the pot. All in all, it’s an amazing game
good but...

Relaxing and aesthetically pleasing

This game is certainly a little oasis in the long busy days and I'm looking forward to coming new versions!
i loved it a lot, now there are bats and i love it so much more
by lovelyraincoat on 2018/02/14 06:15
i liked this app for giving me an extra place to go when i'm anxious, and it's been super pleasant altogether, but today there were bats and it made me finally write a review. the app is easy to use, very calm colors and nice music (that will play under other sounds, i believe. i've been listening to podcasts with it open and it just adds nice background music). i love the snail that circles the pot, and i love the descriptions that come with seedlings. the modeling is simple but definitely not underdetailed, and i love the way your plants develop. sometimes there are leaves falling in the small space of the world your plants occupy, sometimes the colors change. but today there were bats flying around my plant and it completely made my day. there are tiny bats in my little calm world. i love it. edit: my plants are gone ! i suddenly have the same pot style but all of my grown up plants are replaced with random types of seedlings. i was trying to find a way to start a new or additional pot, regardless, but just that it wasn't my choice, just a bug, makes me sad. additionally, i would like some more explanation for the menu controls, since i have no idea what half the buttons do. either way, i still love the app, it just needs some bugs worked out !!

Very sad bug
by grumpyglasses on 2016/12/26 20:01
I loved this game, this was probably the most time & effort I've ever put into an app on my phone, it's the end of December at this time and I think I downloaded it in March or April?

Great App
by XombieZeenuh on 2017/01/31 14:27
The person who said this is a "plant nanny" knock off obviously has no idea what they're talking about. It's great.
I love it
by Davolka on 2019/10/14 04:58
I've been playing this forever.
So peaceful
by tigercait on 2019/05/18 02:25
I love how calm this app is. Hopefully this means that whatever it was has been fixed!)
love the game, hate the crashes
by Fiendish dockside on 2018/03/17 16:15
I've had this game for probably a year or two and for the past few weeks I've been entirely unable to use it anymore.
Mixed Feelings

I love Viridi, I was introduced to it by a friend who loved it as well! But honestly I have some problems with it: Currently the app won’t open for me at all. I’ve tried everything with the exception of deleting and redownloading the app, for fear that I will lose all of the pots of succulents I’ve nurtured for so long. Other problems I’ve had have been fixed in the past and I hope that this one will be fixed soon as well. It’s a very soothing app and it helps me relax during stressful times.
wonderful, amazing
by crashtopher on 2016/12/21 09:31
i've had multiple breakdowns before and this app's lovingly calm music was what helped calm me down each time. viridi is an awesome app if you want a nice, relaxing experience taking care of a cute pot of plants if u can't have that responsibility irl like me. P.S. to name a plant (or snail!) tap on its name, and to sing to a plant, zoom all the way in on that plant and leave it zoomed in. after ~30seconds, music bars will appear and your plant will grow a little bit faster!
Wish there were more like it
Great!

Boo
#1 game
by maynarddaenard on 2018/07/21 07:12
Let me begin by saying, I play on apps quite a bit and I have never before written a review.
Big 5 Stars!

This is the most precious game I have ever played. The graphics are very nice and I personally think it's just so endearing that you can sing to the plants and even the snail! It's also very cute that the developer took time to add minute details as well, like you can spray some water on the snail and it will become 'wet'. So cute! I love this game so much, thank you for making this!
wonderful ‘game’

great relaxing game for non gamers! but need more updates please and another free pot, a small pot maybe?.. more plants/succulents, different backgrounds, and maybe TWO free seedlings a week instead of one! this is my new favorite game, just wish there was more updates even though it’s an older game. highly highly recommend for non gamers!

I really love this app and I find it very enjoyable and I would highly recommend it for anyone who likes plants or just wants a cool app; however, I find it somewhat annoying that you have to buy almost every single item in the app. Although you have to pay for other items in the app, I still like all the plant options and I love this app.
Enlarged my world

This tiny, lovely game has caused me to notice succulents all around me in real life. I notice their sizes and shapes and their blossoms in a way I wouldn't have if I hadn't played the game first. Now I see them and even know their names. As for the game, it's the gentlest of simulators and like any good simulator it gives you some of the feelings that the real objects it's based on do.
Thank you
So calming!!!
by soraismycat on 2017/10/29 20:34
I love this app so much!!!
Wow cute! :)
