No way back from ads
by Gr8 Tutu on 2020/11/21 21:08
There is no way to get back to the game after the ads your iPad gets stuck and there’s no waiting I had to uninstall it and I’m afraid to reinstall it because I’ve been locked out of my game. So don’t get this there’s a lot out there that might not be as “pretty” as this layout, but unless you go premium, you eventually get effed up

The good & not so good
by Sections User on 2020/11/21 09:12
It’s a good game and application only corrupted after time by higher and higher frequency advertisement driven Interrupts.
Classic Solitare filled with ads.
by JohnnyJerk2 on 2020/11/21 00:34
This app starts out being fun but after a while the ads come so fast and thick that trying to play a game is just frustrating! Since this was free ware with Microsoft Windows, shame these folks got to ruin it for iPhone and iPad with overwhelming advertising.
Consistently good, but...
by TeacherDRP on 2020/11/20 22:31
I have been playing for several years, and the developers seem to be trying to add new twists and make the game better. Bully for them. The free versions has ads which one should expect, but they seem to have upped the frequency and duration. As to the adds, I would love to have a relevance button since I am seventy-five and not likely to be Zynn (or Tik Tok) performer. That would, or should include an ad profile option to tailor ads to specific audiences, instead of using some algorithm. One other option I would love to see on the daily challenges (which I do, you guessed it, daily) is to have a “play through” button to allow one to finish the game even after having reached the required winning level.

Is highlight of my day. Keeps my mind active coming up with alternatives for solving a game when I am “stuck”. Am now at level 1000 with Free Cell at the expert level which admittedly represents a”few” hours of playing time.

Grandmaster Klondike and ads
by grandplaster on 2020/11/18 17:27
The inappropriate and intrusive ads are super irritating but what I also find frustrating is that they brag about all Grandmaster levels being solvable. However, I’ve encountered two games now in grandmaster where I can’t move or place a single card. Not that big of a deal but don’t promise that all the levels are solvable if they aren’t.
Too many ridiculous commercials
by kimchiajumma on 2020/11/18 07:03
I could have overlooked the idiot commercials. However, every time I want to play the game, it shows a commercial FIRST. That, I cannot tolerate. I am almost 70, and at my age, I do not like my time wasted. As much as I enjoy the game, I hate commercials even more. I have never in my life purchased anything because of a commercial. Commercials are made for, and watched, by idiots. I am deleting the game today.

Bad ad kade it unplayable
by lwyuan on 2020/11/17 18:37
Some ads are ok. But this one “Toon Blash” ad sticks, I.e. never go away. The ‘X’ leads only to the downloading/installing page. This bad ad makes the app unplayable.

The intrusive ads go on and on Making this unplayable. 😢. They were fine last year.
Airplane Mode Only
by REnlighten on 2020/11/16 14:21
I used to enjoy this app until the recent update where an ad page first appears before play can begin. The ads on the side were tolerable, this is now too annoying to use. Playing in airplane mode is the only way to prevent this.
My favorite game!! But...
by Kristinmw2323 on 2020/11/16 04:30
I love this game! It’s my favorite version of solitaire out there (and I’ve tried MANY different apps). I play this game just about every single day, and I love the daily challenges. HOWEVER, you really must upgrade to a paid version to make it worth playing, otherwise the ads are just too much. I wish there was a set fee of like $5 because even though the monthly fee is only a couple dollars, it’s really a lot of money for what you are getting. Also, EVERY MONTH, on the day that my account renews, it reverts back to an unpaid account and I have to deal with ads again all day until the account renews. This has happened EVERY MONTH since I’ve had the app (about 6 months I think). This is a bug that NEEDS to be fixed.
Fun games, but unreliable server and time clock
by ME RBRT on 2020/11/15 14:39
All five games are fun to play, but the Microsoft server is unreliable. For example, during a timed tournament, the result of a game may fail to upload to the Microsoft server. After trying for several minutes the app will ask you to retry. The Big Problem is that the clock on your game inexplicably continues to run during this delay (even though you finished that game), adding time to your result. The developers have known about this problem for over a year now, but haven’t fixed it.
Connection issues
by steenburgensteinstern on 2020/11/15 14:21
I’d give the app 4 stars if Microsoft didn’t constantly drop the connection to the server while, mysteriously, NEVER losing the ability to pop up ads! Seriously, can we give this ZERO stars? I once PAID for this and all they can do right is ads!
Used to be great, now just okay
by ricachica82 on 2020/11/15 05:31
Constant server issues plague the challenges lately, which resets the game and affects results. Fix it!

A subscription? Seriously?
by NordoftheRings on 2020/11/11 06:01
Pros : you can completely customize your deck. Super cool. Cons : You want me to sign up for a subscription for solitaire? For the love of god could we please go back to the days where we just simple buy things? I’m done with the ads being in my life. Seriously you let the obvious scam known as Skillz run their garbage ads on here? Clearly not watching out for the consumer. Only interested in money like everyone else. I would rather buy a deck a play with actual cards.
Good news, bad news
by pinot2me on 2020/11/10 05:49
This is a great app for the most part. If you enjoy solitaire-style games, and don’t want ads, the Premium subscription can be worth the price of admission, except... Sometimes after updates it gets in a loop about whether I have a subscription (to other reviewer: that is why you have to keep paying: you bought a subscription, not a forever deal. Buyer beware, read the small print, etc) Twice now the solution was to fully delete the app, then re-install. Banda-bing, Premium back, no more ads. A glitch MS folks should address... Another suggestion: allow users to turn of games they don’t play. I taught myself Pyramid and TriPeaks with your app, but will never take to Spider or FreeCell. Would love if they could simply be suppressed, and my gaming stats be adjusted accordingly. (o: Thanks for overall fun times, tho. Nice and chill.
Enough with these rdiculous ads.
by Awogbedo on 2020/11/10 05:02
No complaints about game play. It's solitaire. It works. Usually that's enough to get 5 stars from me but... The ads after games have made this unbearable. This is not what I'd expect from a Microsoft app. I understand selling ads, it's business in the end, but I have to imagine there's a way to include ads without them being the obnoxious time wasters the ads in this app are.
It takes 4 clicks to log in
by 1kulcat on 2020/11/08 16:27
I love playing all the solitaire games but for some reason it now takes 4 clicks to get signed on to the game. Not sure what happened there with signing in. I will change my rating once it is fixed. These games deserve a 5 star.

Good game but app has problems
by awh58 on 2020/11/05 04:45
I play on an IOS device, I have had uninstall and reinstall the app about a dozen times. The app after a fresh install has 4.3MB of data and documents. Over time this number grows and the app becomes unusable. One sign of the problem is it will say loading after a game 12 hours later it is still loading. This and other strange things happen. Beware in the hard and expert levels sometimes it offers an extra deal. All this does moves to the next board in the sequence and you will not be to complete the challenge eventually you will get an unsolvable board. Then there is the ads with no option to say not interested. Microsoft is more interested in ad revenue than customer enjoyment. These games should be ad free as they once were.
Is there a more irritating app?
by Midwest Ace on 2020/11/05 01:11
The mandatory screeching, intrusive ads inserted between games is infuriating. Too loud. Too long. Too difficult to skip. Why is Microsoft imposing this minor torture on us?

One of my favorites
by lemonblackbird on 2020/11/03 20:59
This is one of my favorite Solitaire apps. One thing I like is how pretty the card backs and themes are. I would like more choices, though. Also, the “Solve” button is way too tiny. I can barely see it. One more small improvement: most other apps allow you to move the Kings to a different row. It would be a lot more convenient if I could move them where I like, instead of wherever they randomly land. Thanks for creating such a fun and attractive app.

New Ads Ruin the Game
by jaydweiss on 2020/11/03 18:22
I prefer this version of Solitaire to almost every other one I have played. However, the increasing use of obnoxious, full screen ads have ruined this app for me. If there was a one time purchase to get rid of the ads I would buy the app or in-app purchase, but unfortunately that is not the case. Instead, Microshaft has only given us a subscription model to remove ads from the app. Sorry to say, but that isn’t happening.
Good games, very annoying adds
by Rrjunkmail on 2020/11/03 06:22
While I enjoyed the games, the adds were so annoying that I deleted the game. A lot of the adds are gambling sites/games. Frequently they are very loud and are difficult to silence. The mute button must be tapped exactly right and is not persistent (each noisy add has to be muted) Many require a full minute or more of watching before they can be closed/skipped.

by wiccallegan on 2020/11/03 00:16
Don’t download if you’re competitive unless you plan on purchasing subscription. Ads have become way too long and count against your time. Unfortunately, most of us can’t afford to purchase subscriptions for almost everything, which seems to be the current trend. I, too, have issues with app hang, which forces me to restart that app and replay what was lost in the process. And, imho, one should be able to pause timer when interrupted. People do have lives and simply aren’t able to get through events with having to put it down occasionally.
No political ads!
by Frannie2020 on 2020/11/02 19:36
I understand having ads. I play solitaire to get away from politics and ads.... now there’s political ads! Puke!!!!!
Good gameplay, BUT....
by ElleBee123 on 2020/11/02 14:36
I have had this app for years and play it for maybe 10 or 15 minutes almost every day just to take a break. It relaxes me and I like that. So why the three stars? Because of the misleading ads. I don't mind that the game HAS ads—it's a free app, after all, so that doesn't bother me. What DOES bother me is the absolutely INCESSANT, 100% misleading ads from apps like Homescapes or Gardenscapes, where the ads don't even show actual gameplay. The ads look like these are fun pull-the-pin type puzzle games, when in fact these apps are just stupid match 3 Bejewelled style knockoffs. Super annoying. C'mon, Microsoft. You own this Solitaire app. It's a good app. You have more money than God. You can afford to police the advertising you allow. Do it.
Fix the events timer.
by awulfclark on 2020/11/01 17:40
Events timer needs fixing. Time watching ads and waiting for the connection to finally "send" my complete result should not count against me. I had a challenge recently show up as it took six hours (!) because it refused to register with your server.

Eh. Ads are problematic
by Sendian82 on 2020/10/30 00:37
It’s a pretty straightforward solitaire game. The ads can get pretty intrusive, too. Surprisingly long videos of “demos” of games I’ll absolutely never be interested in trying. There is an option to remove the ads, but this particular app doesn’t really bring anything to justify spending $10-$24 a year for.

Was great. Ads with sound are ruining it
by Akiva96 on 2020/10/29 16:00
There is possibly nothing more irritating than quietly playing solitaire and then having an ad pop up between games THAT BLASTS SOUND. Particularly if you are in a public place. That is one of the “bug fixes” included in the latest update. This is ruining the game for me.
Microsoft Solitaire
by Readingcrazy on 2020/10/28 20:52
Fun, Daily Challenges make it different every day. No glitches thus far. There are ads occasionally, but they aren’t that bad.
The events are full of cheat bots
by Adventfire on 2020/10/27 03:21
Don’t care if you are mad about having pay to play this without ads or not but people are stupidly using speed bots to win events and MS does nothing. Not that you win anything they just want to be number one. 20 solitaire puzzles in 2 mins? I don’t think so.
Microsoft Solitaire used to be fun
by KSPowercat on 2020/10/26 23:52
Microsoft Solitaire used to be fun, but their new add system is so intrusive as to make the game completely unplayable. You used to be able to ignore the adds, but now the adds completely take over the game and you are forced to watch an annoying finger play a game until hell freezes and you are allowed to close that demo. Unfortunately, they do that to you at least one more time, making you loathe what was once a really good version of Solitaire. Their add free version is way too expensive, and is a monthly or yearly payment. I'd gladly pay a few bucks to get rid of adds, but not what they are charging. This is Solitaire after all. Fortunately there are many more versions available in the store so I will be taking my playing elsewhere. Way to go, Microsoft, you ran me off.

Inappropriate ads with no way to report them
by NicktheStick1014 on 2020/10/26 21:59
I love this app and all the games. However the ads that have been appearing in the past couple weeks have honestly shocked me. They are for adult toys and click bait with women with see through shirts on. I really hope Microsoft addresses this issue since the app is rated ages 4+. They need to do a better job at vetting their ads.

Tendency to lock up due to advertisements
by Links warrior on 2020/10/26 14:14
Supposedly, if you BUY the special version you won’t see adds. But I can put up with adds most time. What I find frustrating is during the competitions, the system has a tendency to lock up trying to load an add when you are going between game levels. This results in doubling sometimes tripling your time which lowers your standings on the leaderboard. When the lockup occurs the only way to stop it is to completely shutdown the game, all the while you are doing this, the timer for the game is running. And when you return to the game, you have to start at the beginning of the event.

In recent updates they added full screen ads that don’t allow you to dismiss for quite awhile, if you can even figure out how to do it. They come up too often and force you to wait. For over a decade I’ve enjoyed the game, but now Microsoft has killed the experience. I’ve deleted the app because my old friend turned greedy on me. Bummer.

I have played this for years but now it has turned into another ad centric game. You can’t even start playing without an ad. At $10.00 a year to turn off ads it is no fun to play and too expensive to keep using. Was good but greed got in the way.
The Ads are VERY inappropriate!
by TIGGAR00 on 2020/10/21 00:38
While the game is fun, there is an ad between every game and the content can be very inappropriate for children, and ME! They often contain sexual and violent content and sometimes you can’t even mute the sound. So if your kid is playing the game and you suddenly hear a man or woman moaning and groaning that’s why! They cut the violent Ads for a while when everyone in the US was on pandemic lockdown. I guess they figured everyone was stressed enough without seeing people getting hurt. But the nasty Ads came back...

by Venomous Pickle on 2020/10/20 23:09
Paid for ad free version (which I was happy to do) but just discovered that it’s only ad free for a year. Ads are back and MS wants another $9.99 to turn them off, just for another year. This is a rip-off. If you want ad-free, this is NOT the app for you.

Just did the most recent update with the bug fixes and I cannot open the app. I enjoy playing this version of solitaire. Please help. Will update my review once it’s fixed.
App won’t load

Don’t bother
by tsboling on 2020/10/20 15:00
So many times, I finish a board on hard or expert, only for it to freeze on loading and not register my finish. Tired of it. This has been a bug in this game for years. They won’t, or can’t, fix it.
Crashing
by Sttgirl on 2020/10/20 14:46
Love playing this game. Recently, at least once a week, the game crashes and I have to reinstall it. I’ve been trying to get into the game today and it still is crashing. I’m ready to uninstall and get another game elsewhere. Please fix the constant crashing.

What is going on with this app?. I can’t open it. It acts like it wants to open, but then it closes. I have shut down my phone many times and it still does not open. It’s to bad because I really, really enjoy this app. If this can’t be fixed then I will have no choice but to uninstall this app.
Great game

Great game, but hasn’t met me open it today, every-time I try to it crashes. I tried to delete and reinstall, still wouldn’t work
It was good then it wasn’t.

I like the variety of games and challenges in the app. I downloaded this app a few months ago but one day it wouldn’t launch. The app would keep crashing. I deleted and reloaded the app several times before it worked properly again. I lost all my game data in the process. It’s been a couple months since that issue, and now it’s doing it again. Not sure what the deal is. I keep up with the updates. Time to move on.

Who do I have to delete this and redownload Ed 3 times for it to work everyday. It opens for 2 seconds and then shuts down.
Why is my game crashing????
by Caitlin Boyd on 2020/10/20 08:52
I love this game and I’ve been playing it for years, however over the past few weeks for some reason my game keeps crashing. At first, it would just crash after I completed a challenge and said that I wasn’t connected to the internet when I was; but now it won’t even load the game. It just crashes on startup. I even tried re-installing it, making sure it had the most current update, and made sure I had enough storage space available, but nothing seems to work. This is one of my favorite games and I will gladly change my rating to 5 stars when this crashing issue is fixed and I’m able to actually play it again!
Won’t open sometimes
by Hebskkz bjejnznn on 2020/10/20 04:55
Love this app but there have been several times I’ve tried to open it and it starts to load then closes. But it’ll be running in the background so I’ll open it again, it starts to load, then closes. I’ve deleted the app and re-downloaded it and it just keeps doing it. When this happens it goes on for a few days to a week until it randomly decides to start working again. Happens about once a month to every other month. It’s very irritating.
Great game
by brian481516 on 2018/01/07 08:04
I play Klondike solitaire frequently, over 2,200 times. I play it different the most people. I like to use easy settings and just try to beat my time. My best time is 1:06. 3 things I’d really like to see in a future version: 1) I really wish the bar at the bottom at least had an option to always stay visible. A lot of times I’m reaching for a button on the bottom and accidentally close it. That can be annoying when I’m trying to play as fast as I can. 2) it would be a really interesting feature if you could re-play a deck at then end of the game... or even save a deck so it can be played again at a later date (possibly multiple times). 3) it would be fun to be able to see more stats, average game time, etc. ideally it would be awesome to see a graph with game time on the y axis and date played on the x axis (plots points would be red or green for win or loss). Then I could see how I’m doing over time.
These ads and the price
by donald duck girl on 2020/08/28 14:01
As of today, Aug 28, 2020 no answer from you. There’s another problem and if I get no reply I will uninstall it. My old IPad stop charging, I had already backed up everything. My new IPad all my game levels was transferred to the new IPad except your. My old IPad I was on level 87, my new IPad was at level 1. I don’t use Xbox at all and I’ve tried to contact you, and got message I had to sign in to Xbox live, no thank you. Everyone doesn’t always fall for a company being greedy. I'm about to uninstall this game, I love card games this one we was at an office appointment I pulled out my IPad to play got message that I could not play no internet, What? At first could not figure out why, my other card games I can play with no internet. Then it hit me, these ads they have on here and the price they want is crazy. I'm not buying anymore apps at this time. There one card game we bought to remove ads spite card game, I'm still dealing with ads and we paid for it, before we can get to next level we still have to watch an ad, for a game we paid for. I've also notice these crazy prices like this game where you can pay every year no way. Also we have paid then four months, six months down the road guess what no more updates and when Apple update there system that app does not work anymore, we are tried of being rip off. Apple needs to do something to quite letting these apps rip people off.
Great gameplay, buggy infrastructure
by Janunson on 2020/07/11 17:12
This is the best gameplay, most attractive and satisfying graphics and interaction of any solitaire game out there by far. That’s why I keep playing it. I just wish the Microsoft underneath didn’t cause so much suckage. The game is obsessed with your internet connection, even though it really shouldn’t need it to play a card game!! It takes forever uploading and downloading... nothing, before you can play it, and after each game, and if your connection has changed, like from WiFi to cell, or to a different WiFi, it doesn’t cache the data and try on the new connection - no, it freaks out and won’t save your score and won’t let you continue playing. It also downloads some unnamed “new content’ constantly, then forgets it the next time you open the app, and downloads it again! And the themes- apparently what it’s supposed to have downloaded (you get to dismiss two messages every time it tries!!) are still screwed up every time you play, and when you fix them (which usually only lasts 1 session) it wants to download then yet again! Wow. So after writing all this down it’s clear I need to play a less visually slick solitaire game that isn’t so annoying. Again, the gameplay is the best, but the annoying bugs ruin it.
Game memory
by ralexie2 on 2020/09/15 15:20
I love this application with the exception that when finishing a challenge, if you are disconnected from internet, the only way you can get back to the game is by closing the application and starting the challenge once again. You will be in a loop hole if playing the same game you finished but the sad story is that the challenge is timed and the clock does not stop till you finally get your score and can move on to the next challenge. Even after you close the application, the clock continues. Developers should develop a memory bank where the application can acknowledge it disconnected, save your progress and stop the clock. This is critical because every challenge is timed! It is weird that you never find out when it disconnects till you finish the challenge and are waiting for the score to appear so you can move on. Other than this, this application is the best I have ever played. Wish someone could look into making a patch to fix this. I don’t know if it just happens to me because I am using an iPad or it happens to any one on any other platform.
I have finally decided...
by 1stCeye on 2020/09/11 23:43
....the best way to play FREE CELL. ***Now understand that 2 months ago, free cell terrorized me! I would look at the board and freeze! There was just no way to organize that board. Put a card up in the cages and you lost the number of other cards you could move. I’d shake my head and find a Spider game. ( Now, I’m looking at 2 deck SPIDER Like I used to look at FREE CELL!...but I AM LOOKING....) I took the challenge one day...it took all the hints, and an hour, but I ALMOST got it. I was hooked! Easy game after easy game, I slowly saw strategies....ways around.... ***I still only play easy games (I actually won one medium game!), but I’m winning more....today, I decided in order to actually WIN; you line up LOGIC on one side of your brain....INTUITION on the other side; then. Take both hands (metaphorically) and SLAM THEM TOGETHER! Now, you are in the correct brain lane to win! (Sigh) ***MICROSOFT....PLEASE look into your HINTS helper. It has a frustratingly habit of REPEATING THE SAME HINT...BACK AND FORTH...I cannot learn that way....PLEASE!*** ***I will happily accept hints from players.....small cats, large dogs, a ferret, no porcupines, please! More later.... ***LATER.....great idea.....MICROSOFT, PLease consider creating a GIN RUMMY SET of games. It would be fantastic with the way you set up REAL games. There are no reasonable Gin games out here.....
Latest version ruined game
by Hannahbrian on 2018/09/21 12:13
I rarely review apps and up until the latest version released near the end of September 2018 I would have rated this 5 stars. But the latest version introduced ads in the middle of gameplay. I thought to myself “I play this game a lot, I’d be willing to pay $5 to get rid of ads.” I clicked the “premium” button in game and saw it was $10. Ouch - that’s a lot to pay for a solitaire game - but I do play it a lot so maybe it is worth it? But then I saw it was $10 ANNUALLY!!!!!! You want me to pay and keep paying EVERY YEAR for a game of solitaire? With all due respect: what are you smoking? Actually do not tell me what you are smoking because getting me to smoke the same stuff is the only way you will ever get me to pay for a subscription for a game of solitaire. You took a great thing and ruined it with greed. I hope for the sake of the players that your greed ruins this game and you fade into an occasional memory. I’m sure there are other solitaire games out there - time to start looking for one that is not greedy. Even if they charge a one-time fee I’ll gladly pay it over your greedy subscription.
Tournament Timekeeping
by Annavon on 2020/07/03 03:44
I wish there was a way to track the play time correctly. Sometimes during a tournament, I have to stop playing. When I return and replay the game, it counts the time that I was out of the app against my total time. For example, I played a game for 2 minutes, but I get a phone call and EXIT the game and the app completely, I come back 2 hours later and replay the game finish in 2 minutes and 40 seconds. My total time should be 4:40, but it shows as 2:04:40. Today, I was playing during my lunch break. I went back to work and went home and took a nap. I finished the last game of the tournament in around 4 minutes. My total time should have been around 35 minutes. However, it showed more than 7 hours!!! It should only show the time actually playing, not time when we are not in the game at all. One more thing, it would be nice if there was a “pause “ button, so if you are interrupted, you can pause the game.
Review of Microsoft Solitaire
by broadleafrock on 2019/09/30 08:18
Microsoft Solitaire is very addictive but also very fun. I have been playing it for about three years. I try to find ways to solve the puzzles quicker so I can consistently be in the top 25. I believe some people must have two accounts so they can practice each puzzle on a trash account and score big on the second account. I like to improve my times but I wish there was a way to see how I compare with the group for each of the five games and even by difficulty level. Overall the games are great and I enjoy the challenges almost every day. I know you have to make some money along the way but the long commercials are boring to watch after the 20th or 30th time! Thanks for making the games so fun though.
Excellent Game, Could Use a Few Tweaks
by 3WAgirl on 2019/04/06 16:10
I play this game almost every day. I love it, I love the daily challenges, and I love Spider most of all. Some things I would change: 1) When an impasse is reached in Spider, there’s no way to restart the game. In fact, there’s no way to restart any game in regular play. You can only start a new deck. What’s even weirder is that the warning sign says “quitting or restarting this game will count in your statistics” when you do it, so I feel like I’m missing a key option. 2) I have no option of playing a solvable deck if I choose Pyramid in regular mode. It’s always random, and that’s an option I’d like to change if I feel like it, just like all the other Solitaire games. 3) This is picky, but I liked the previous version of the “select game” window when beginning a new deck in regular play. The list is more straightforward, but somehow less classy-looking to me.
Classic Game with Flawed Mechanics
by fluffybunniesx on 2020/08/05 07:30
I love solitaire, and I’ve played this game on different platforms. I recently started playing it again and doing the events, but sometimes the connection to the server drops and I’m forced to cancel sending my completed challenge, and start over. The time that I’ve already logged on that challenge somehow gets saved but not my completion status? And to top it off even if you cancel sending the score, it counts all the time in between when you cancelled to when you try and complete it again. My latest challenge marked me down as taking 9 hours to complete when even the app hasn’t been open that long. I find the challenges to be some of the more interesting features this app has to offer so I’m disappointed that some of these flaws are here. Should be simple enough to locally store a variable that says the challenge was completed so that when there is server connectivity, the game can send the score.
So I LOVED this game then ADS ruined it
by USMCgirls on 2018/10/27 07:38
So this game WAS amazing. With minimum ads either at the bottom of the screen or a short AD... Now the ads are more frequent and one lasted a minute. This last time was the last straw. I was trying to do one of the daily challenges and when I clicked it an Ad popped up. When the X came up I clicked and got a warning saying I won’t receive my award if I end it early I continued and it went back to the daily challenge menu. So I clicked the challenge again and it played another ad, this time I let it complete and when it ended I clicked the X and it came up with the error. So I chose the option to let it keep going. It just stayed on the “download now” screen not changing so finally I quit the ad and it went back to the challenge menu ad. I am sick of games over doing ads. I get they need ads for money but overdoing it is another thing. Sacrificing user experience for money, loses you both users and eventually money.
Greed has ruined this game.
by CaptRonSolo on 2019/03/04 20:21
I, like many others here, don’t ever write reviews, but this latest update from Microsoft is the epitome of corporate greed. It was a free game, so as much as I loathed the addition of ads I somewhat understood. I put up with it for a bit, but then they just got too annoying, and so I thought “I really do enjoy playing this game from time to time, so I’ll just buy the premium version for whatever they want”. Come to find out, I can’t BUY it. I can only rent it for an annual fee. For solitaire. It is a card game that has been around for as long as cards have been around, and they want me to pay every year?!?! They have lost their minds!!!!! It is a digital deck of cards. The greed represented with this move is abhorrent. I’m done.
Microsoft missed the boat with the opportunity for cross platform capability.
by VonPadraig on 2019/03/04 04:49
Whoopi! Microsoft allows me to log into my Xbox live account. Bit Whoop! Doesn’t mean a dang thing. There is ZERO cross over to remember games from my iPad to my iPhone using the SAME Xbox Live account AND my SAME iCloud account. Oh yeah, it asks to recover from Xbox cloud, it it recovers NOTHING. Just as bad, there is no cross platform capability for, IOS to my XBox and Windows 10. REALLY? If I am logged into my Live account, you should be able to store my game information!!! Worse still, I have the Premium Subscription on my Windows10/Xbox side, but Microsoft doesn’t allow that to carry over to IOS. And visa versa. I was trying to switch to something that would sync. I wanted to pay ONCE for a subscription. Since I can’t sync, I’ll just go back to the competitor’s product that doesn’t barrage me with ads. You screwed up Microsoft.
Amazing but...
by Lagrima de Cristal on 2020/05/26 20:23
I am fascinated by this game, some challenges are really complicated, and I love that they make you think, the only but, is that although you have an excellent internet in your house, sometimes a half game Solitaire server, suffers from some interruption, this You can see it when after a game, it does not save that it is finished, and if you do not close it or practically disconnect, add all that disconnection time to the registry of your game, so if you finished a new one in 30 seconds, and you leave it like this Waiting for it to reconnect, it will appear that you were there all that time, that it can be 3, 5 or 12 hours, or until you resume it, and add it to your registration, that's why you lose positions.
Like the game...timing for challenges is wrong and frustrating
by LuluSD on 2020/04/15 16:59
UPDATE: I just started the Pyramid Adventure challenge and decided to check my time after each game in the challenge. I just completed the first challenge without stopping at easy level within 3 minutes at most...I checked the time and it said 55 min 42 seconds. This is most discouraging & disappointing...especially as a premium player paying the annual subscription fee! PREVIOUS: Usually when you are interrupted in the middle of a game, you close it and pick up where you left off. This is also true of me solitaire, except that when doing a challenge...the timer still keeps going. For example, It may show I played for 8 hrs, when I only had an hour or minutes of actual playtime, so it affects my score. They need to stop the time when you have to interrupt a game and continue it once you open the game again.
For the love of god do something about the buttons.
by Desiree M. Miller on 2019/05/09 08:21
I’d give this game a five but it most comfortable to hold the phone in landscape mode when playing. However in order to hold the phone securely you have to do so in a way that causes you to touch the buttons and interrupt your game countless times when you inevitability bum the wrong one. One of the developers should hold the phone in landscape mode and play for 10-20 minutes and see how often they hit the wrong button. I have small hands and I do it with an annoying frequency. I can’t imagine what it would be like for someone with big ones. Also move the hide the buttons slider up and away from the iPhone slide (bottom of screen) they’re far to close and you often can’t pull up the game buttons because it’s not registering that that’s what you’re trying to do.
This is getting annoying
by Sharon Donahue on 2020/04/23 16:10
Once again I am forced to shut down the app after finishing a challenge and potentially having to replay it if the data is lost. Plus the timer will add the time spent waiting for the app to reload plus the time spent replaying the challenge so that it will look like I spent half an hour trying to finish the challenge instead of having done it in under three minutes. I get that you probably have thousands of people logging in at the same time and it’s a drag on the system but this is getting ridiculous. Please fix this issue, as the app is great otherwise. (Still wondering about being able to pause challenges and request hints during a game.)
Great App, Varied and Challenging
by Oahu1965 on 2020/06/11 20:38
I love that there are multiple Solitaire games in one app and that each game has several difficulty levels. It’s really easy to play a simple or challenging game in one place. The daily and special challenges add another level of fun and competition. If I could ask for one improvement it would be....Give the option to clear the board when doing the challenges. Sometimes I get really into the game, am doing really well when suddenly I meet the score or play the card needed and the game closes. How about a message like “Challenge achieved. Finish board?” and let the player decide. Other than that this free app is great and keeps me playing sometimes for hours
“Put” the Soli’ in “Solitaire”
by Toopienator on 2018/11/16 20:54
I have a history of having been made fun of a lot. But, I have no one to play much with, so I play Solitaire. Okay, does anyone else love this? I know people do, but as much as I do? No, that’s not actually possible, is it? No. That’d be stupid to think that. This game is solid all the way around. People love it, but not as much as me. I think that Solitaire is classic any way you put it. The joy of playing a classic card game on the iPhone, iPad, Windows Phone, Mac OS, or Microsoft Windows Operating System is more than you’d think. It’s amazing. No matter how you put it. No matter how much change you make. It’s always great. I love it. It sure does put the Soli’ in Solitaire.
UTTERLY PATHETIC!!
by MicrosoftSucksMonkeyBrains on 2018/09/29 01:08
All these years of having solitaire on regular PC and now these lazy morons can’t even get a simple reproduction of the same game to work properly on a phone. This update is even worse than the last one. Now, at least it can keep up to the speed of the player— but now when you’re playing and you get to the end of the deck, you can sit and tap the spot (where the deck was sourced from) to restart the deck from the beginning... over and over and over indefinitely and it will keep registering your tap on the position to the left, on the final card displayed. In other words, they literally programmed it wrong to where it registers a tap - not where your finger is - but on the adjacent card. IDIOTS!!!! On the last update, it did this sometimes. Now, it does it every single game. I wish all these lazy complacent morons at Microsoft would just pack it in and go home and let somebody else do the job the right way.
Best Solitaire App But Key Features Still Missing
by Heather_Dianne on 2018/07/26 21:05
This is probably the best solitaire app available yet in the App Store. I play almost every day and try to complete every event. I love that we get all five of the traditional solitaire games in one. It’s easy to lose time playing. The one thing that is disappointing is that we are missing key features even after the app has been around for a couple years now. Even though the Windows PC app has them, the mobile app is still missing the “star club” and themes features. I have been waiting for months, hoping we’d get a new update with this feature but it has yet to come. Hopefully we can get it before the end of the year but we’ll see. That’s the only issue I’ve faced with the app.
Timer glitched
by mmmaggimmmae on 2020/06/21 05:51
Need to fix timer in events. Timer doesn’t always stop at game finish, constantly adds time while system is acknowledging that it has an issue. A problem that never occurs when I’m doing daily challenges or just playing. Why when the amount of time is crucial for ranking won’t the timer stop. Sometimes I even have to close the app and replay the level while the timer is still running usually after watching an ad. Today I didn’t even start the level because I needed to get off game for a bit & when I finished next level at least 30 minutes was added to my time. Please fix this as it ruins my enjoyment of the events which is my favorite part of your app.
Help MEEE 😔
by Emily Serratooo on 2020/07/11 09:42
I love this app!! It is realllyyyy goood and if it wasn’t for my current issue I’d rate it 5 stars but I can’t fix the problem! I had previously downloaded the app and created an Xbox account through my gmail a long time ago and have recently re-downloaded it. When I tried signing back into my account, I put in my email and misspelled it 🤦🏽‍♀️ There is an option that says, “Typo in your email? Fix it here” but every time I try to click on it, it turns darker and gets a underline but it doesn’t take me anywhere!! No matter how long I wait it stays on the same page. I’ve tried deleting the app and re-downloading it but it doesn’t help it stays the same!! I just want my old progress 😖 Can someone help mee?
The latest update is not good
by PapaMikey on 2018/09/27 13:36
I’ve been playing these solitaire games for quite awhile but with this latest update, promotions for other games are a hinderance to my playing pleasure. The promos pop up at the beginning of various games and also in the Daily Challenge and the other challenges. It’s irritating to me and I hope they’ll change it back. Two stars but that may change. It depends on Microsoft. Microsoft could have just asked for a one time upgrade fee but instead decided to charge a HIGH monthly fee to bypass those irritating game ads that pop up and make this game less enjoyable. I’m sure a lot of people including myself are going to be playing it less now. Dropping stars to one now.
Great Games Annoying Execution
by Over60techbabe on 2019/10/30 00:44
I really enjoy playing multiple solitaire games and if could would give this 5stars. However there is bug when playing the tournament games. Lately after winning a game I get the chasing white balls from hell and a error message that the internet is not on. Mind you I can go the the daily challenges and play without an issue. It’s the same app! Why can’t the tournament portion of the app not recognize the internet connection? Of course this means that my winning game is lost (and must be replayed) and the game time longer than it should be (faster finish time higher ranking). I’m seriously considering tossing this app.
With OS 12 update, Microsoft went to the dark side with this
by MaryEstock on 2019/08/28 15:01
First, I REALLY LIKE the games, and up until last week tolerated the long, repetitive demos of the stupid candy-crush-alike games. Recently, the ads went to the dark side, showing 18+ pornographic images for a trashy game called “Scatter Shots” that I find highly offensive (and I’m WAY over 18), but my 12 year old granddaughter also uses my iPad and enjoys the solitaire games. Now I can’t let her use my iPad unless I uninstall the solitaire games. I feel like the push of such off-color images is an attempt to force me to pay to play the games. I’m already paying hugely to use Microsoft Office 365. Not willing to pay to play solitaire. Shame on you ad sellers for trashing up your games. UPDATE: Now you’ve added ad picturing a lesbian kiss—totally NOT family friendly. Come on, Microsoft. Please keep sex out of Solitaire. It’s ubiquitous in so many other areas.
I love it. There is room for improvement.
by Xantharius on 2019/12/18 06:26
This is everything you love about solitaire. The card action and sounds are great; the graphics look good; it’s a good solitaire experience. But— If I have just one stack of cards that’s unturned (everything is else is Kings or is turned) the app should just complete the rest for me—do I have to go through the motions of making every single card in the deck move into its correct place before “Solve” appears? I know I’m done! Just finish it for me! And when there are no remaining moves possible, the app should know that, and not make me ask for hint after hint just to verify that fact. I know that I can’t make any more moves—why would the app not just work that out and tell me right away? This point is definitely the one that needs the most attention, as it’s a pain to have to not just cycle through every card in the remaining deck, but also have to request a hint on each occasion to provoke the app to report that no further moves are possible. I appreciate the work that goes into app-making. Sorting out these two points would improve things considerably. Thanks for the work you’ve put into the app.

This would be the best solitaire game I’ve ever played, but there’s definitely some things that puts me off that I wish they would fix. First off is that you can’t start a new game. Once you start a game, the only way to restart it is either to press the undo button dozens of times until you’re back to the beginning-which eats up time as well- or finish playing until it says you are out of moves- which counts as a loss. It puts me off that there’s no way to actually restart the game. Also, the hint button can sometimes loop back and fourth between two moves not actually helping when you’re stuck, even though it’s not unsolvable and there’s a move you could do. If it weren’t for these things I would stick with this app.
Best solitaire app
by LsLg Fire on 2017/10/04 22:53
The first time I played solitaire was the Microsoft Windows XP game. And now Microsoft has this app. I love the classic winning animation I wish you could turn off the new ones so I see the nostalgia inducing one only. Also the old fireworks from Spider Solitaire would be awesome the didn’t have a shine or glow they were just a blast of circles with a black outline and the color would fade to another color. I love the use of Xbox live gamerscore and I’m using this app to get mine higher. I really want to see star club. I hate that there are those achievements for it and you guys haven’t added it yet. I hope it will come eventually thanks for making the app
Almost perfect
by crochetin on 2019/04/01 19:37
I play daily and they offer enough choices and levels of difficulty plus challenges to make it worth paying the yearly premium to skip the ads. My only frustration is that the premium payment is PER DEVICE! Had I known that, I would have waited before paying. I started playing on my laptop but now find it easier and more convenient to play on my tablet. Unfortunately my premium payment was on my laptop. I suffer thru relentless ads while my premium payment goes to waste. Seems to me, as I can play on only one device at a time, the premium mode should sync across devices. Disgruntled user ...
Show “Time”
by Deebbpc on 2019/11/03 18:57
I do like this app much more than any other. I appreciate the updates, when we get them, I also feel the designers are interested in providing a great game to provide contentment for the users (players). I would so love it if, no matter how I play, tournaments, daily challenges, or just out there on my own, etc., I could ALWAYS see my time for each game. When I play, I frequently personally challenge myself. It would be so convenient if the time for each game showed up as it does in the tournaments. At this time, that is really the only concern I have with this app. I really love to play.
Do it.
Needs one fix
by Col313 on 2020/08/12 16:56
I really love the app and went premium as a treat, but the ads are not too annoying if you don’t want to pay. However, there is one bug I would LOVE to see fixed. Every now and then the app freezes, says “Loading,” just after finishing a game. When that happens you lose credit for the game BUT IT STILL COUNTS YOUR TIME. So you have to play that round again, but it counts your time double. Could you please have the game stop timing as soon as it says, “Completed?” I think the problem is space, and I need to close apps before playing - if so, could you program in a warning so I could make space before the app crashes? Thanks.
Great Game, Almost
by The Objective Chipmunk on 2020/05/09 14:23
First off, this is absolutely the classic solitaire game you’re looking for. It brings back memories of computer class in high school where we wasted all our time playing solitaire and minesweeper. That said, the ads here, though not terribly intrusive, are still annoying. And to remove them, Microsoft has apparently had a stroke in deciding what to charge. Rather than a simple “remove ads” option for a few dollars (like most other apps), you need to pay a subscription. A subscription? Seriously? You want me to pay monthly or annually for a game that was free on every Windows computer two decades ago? Nope. So if you can put up with the ads, or don’t mind overpaying for a game to get rid of those ads, go for it. Great solitaire experience.
All apps in one
by Isgoodapptowaist time on 2017/08/11 22:34
You get 5 different type of card games to play with levels to them. Get bored of one game just play a different type of game. I don't have to download different apps to play different types of games because this app has them all. You get 5 daily challenge for the day. All different levels as well to earn coins. The app does crash after an add, the screen goes black when the add ends. Just press the home button to exit the screen, Go back into the app again and you'll be back to the game you choice to play, ready to play without the add again.
Spider Solitaire is Great!
by DennyO- StAugustine on 2019/12/01 02:04
This game is super in that you can pick different challenge levels and if you initially fail to solve the challenge you can continue to work to massage your solution till you are successful! Some games can be solved in 10 minutes while others take hours over days to find the solution. As I start a game I don’t know which type of game I’ll get. It is always wonderful to come up with a quick solution, but longer games can be very satisfying after you solve them. Having a 99.5 +% success rate after playing over 1000 games is very satisfying.
Good game, but the ads are out of control
by JC SV on 2020/02/01 03:43
Since I last updated, the ads have increased dramatically. Previously, they didn’t show up much of you played games in random mode. Now, it seems like there’s an ad almost every other play. To make matters worse, there’s a bug with the ad feature. If the app displays an ad and starts playing it, then the user switches to another app and comes back to the solitaire app, the ad will still be displayed, but it will be paused. No controls are available to either continue playing the ad or close it. The only workaround is to close and reopen the solitaire app. I’m deleting the app and finding a good solitaire app that I can pay for once. There’s no way I’m paying Microsoft for a subscription for a solitaire game.
Why?
by Felinegrl on 2019/02/03 09:00
Why all the ads and why are so many apps subscriptions? I am on a limited income and can't afford too many. I generally hate Microsoft. Way too many bugs. And crashes. That is why I want to Apple. I love their products. No viruses etc, no crashes. I started on pcs and learned on Microsoft. Great game except for ads! I don't mind small ones and get the need for them. Have paid up to 5.00 dollars to get rid of ads. They take away from games and slow my devices down. As this is an old mini with IOS 9.1.5 or so the ads really gum it up. Please rethink them. Thank you.
Keeps the brain active!
by snelson600 on 2018/11/18 17:39
I use the free version and just deal with the ads. (My cat likes to watch them because they are so active 😺). I am pretty much happy with it. My only complaint is that some of the random decks are unsolvable and although they tell you that, you end up trying to solve it many times before you give up, still not knowing if it was solvable or not. Although you can choose the complexity of your games, you cannot choose a range, like " medium or harder" or something like that. Perhaps you can on the paid version. I like the graphics.
Keeps updating “New” Content
by Craftingdiane on 2020/01/02 18:43
For the past month every time I open the app to play, which I do several times a day, It makes me download new content. I download it even though there is no new content, I have all the new content. But I have to do it or I can’t choose the card theme I like playing with. It must be a glitch but I’m afraid to delete the app and reinstall for fear I’ll lose all my progress and have to start all over. I’ve finished everything in the star club collection. Anyways I wrote a complaint to them and got no response. So annoying!
LENGTHY ADS ARE DEFEATING THE PURPOSE OF GAME
by orangewebbedfeet on 2020/04/14 00:03
This game is used for fun and a mental escape. But the VERY lengthy ads are making more anxiety and is disrespectful. The ads used to be shorter, they kept growing longer for vendors that paid more, but it’s taking advantage of the game’s players. The ads were always annoying, but sometimes I liked them. I, as most people, dont need a long time to decide we are interested or not. Beating us bloody with ads for which there are no exits and once there is, the exit “x” is often so tangled with the ad that pressing the “x” takes you to the app’s ad repeatedly and finally back to playing the game, in general is an abuse. IN THE TIME OF A PANDEMIC IS DISGUSTING. PEOPLE NEED TOOLS TO COPE. WHEN THE TOOLS ARE TRYING TO MAKE MORE MONEY AT THE COST OF THE SUPPOSED PURPOSE OF THE GAME, ITS APPALLING. WE ARE WILLING TO VIEW ADS, BUT THIS IS OUT OF BALANCE, PLEASE RECONSIDER YOUR BUSINESS MODEL WITH THESE GAMES MICROSOFT.
Loading during competition
by frustratedirish on 2020/09/05 14:36
Unfortunately sometimes the game server is unable to load your game that you just finished during a timed competition so you are given a choice to cancel or retry. Or sometimes it will just give you the cancel and spin as it tries to load your data. The outcome is that your time for the competition event is much more than the actual time you spent playing because it is adding all the time trying to access the server. It is extremely disappointing and frustrating to play the games and then discover your time is 7 hours more than it should be!!!
Still pretty good but many problems too
by Steve8pi on 2020/01/30 12:47
-Removing another star because now most ads are using secret 1-pixel hotspots for the close X. It's almost impossible to close the ad when it is done playing. Carefully trying to hit the X results in taking you to the page to buy the product 85% of the time. -Downgrading my rating again. Now getting an ad for every game and half the ads have loud annoying audio that always defaults to on. -Came back to edit my review. I'm downgrading it to by a star due to the constant 30-second ads before each game. -Overall a pretty good solitaire collection but recent updates have turned on 30-second ads that can't be skipped. 😖 Also the new graphics are hard on the eyes. Smaller fonts, fuzzier card graphics. Not so pleasant to look at anymore.
Super Fun Game...when it works
by CMP spinner on 2018/06/25 10:50
I like this app because it has all the different solitaire games, daily challenges and other competitions. However most of the time when I open the app, I get error messages that it can’t connect to the cloud, so I can’t play the competitions or daily challenges. This can be very frustrating. I think maybe it is because I am playing on an Apple device and Microsoft isn’t exactly compatible like Apple is with Microsoft apps (Word, Excel, etc.) So if that would ever get fixed, it could definitely be a 5 star app.
The Ads Ruined It
by Girlierider on 2018/10/02 15:51
This was, by far, my favorite game to play. However, the latest update forces you to watch full 30 second ads before playing each game. That’s ridiculous. There are at least five other Solitaire games that don’t play ads. I’ll go play those and I highly recommend anyone thinking about downloading this game do the same. Don’t waste your time on this game. It is so not worth the time you waste waiting for each ad to end. Also, there is a new, really horrible delay between when you tap a card and when it actually moves. The last update turned this game into absolute trash. Seriously, do not waste your time on this game. Go find almost any other solitaire game in the App Store; chances are, it’ll be a better game than this one has turned into.

I understand selling ads, it's business in the end, but I have to imagine there's a way to include ads without them being the obnoxious time wasters the ads in this app are.

by awh58 on 2020/11/05 04:45
I play on an IOS device, I have had uninstall and reinstall the app about a dozen times.

The amount, and duration of ads has gotten way out of hand in my opinion.

And when you return to the game, you have to start at the beginning of the event.

by bornover on 2020/10/23 10:50
In recent updates they added full screen ads that don’t allow you to dismiss for quite awhile, if you can even figure out how to do it. They come up too often and force you to wait. For over a decade I’ve enjoyed the game, but now Microsoft has killed the experience. I’ve deleted the app because my old friend turned greedy on me. Bummer.

by Pythonfan on 2020/10/21 02:23
I have played this for years but now it has turned into another ad centric game.

DO NOT PAY
by Venomous Pickle on 2020/10/20 23:09
Paid for ad free version (which I was happy to do) but just discovered that it’s only ad free for a year. Ads are back and MS wants another $9.99 to turn them off, just for another year. This is a rip-off. If you want ad-free, this is NOT the app for you.

Time to move on.

by Caitlin Boyd on 2020/10/20 08:52
I love this game and I’ve been playing it for years, however over the past few weeks for some reason my game keeps crashing.

Ehhh
by Bella090303 on 2019/08/27 15:26
This would be the best solitaire game I’ve ever played, but there’s definitely some things that puts me off that I wish they would fix.
Do it.
