Pokémon GO
Description
Pokémon GO has now introduced the Trainer Battles feature. Enjoy one-on-one Pokémon battles with other Trainers nearby, or practice battling against team leaders Spark, Candela, and Blanche! Trainers can earn rewards for participating in battle and show off exciting Pokémon skills in one of three different Trainer Battle Leagues. Join Trainers across the globe who are discovering Pokémon as they explore the world around them. Pokémon GO is the global gaming sensation that has been downloaded over 850 million times and named "Best Mobile Game" by The Game Developers Choice Awards and "Best App of the Year" by TechCrunch. Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Pikachu, and many other Pokémon have been discovered! Pokémon are out there, and you need to find them. As you walk around a neighborhood, your smartphone will vibrate when there’s a Pokémon nearby. Take aim and throw a Poké Ball… You’ll have to stay alert, or it might get away! Search far and wide for Pokémon and items Certain Pokémon appear near their native environment—look for Water-type Pokémon by lakes and oceans. Visit PokéStops and Gyms—found at interesting places like museums, art installations, historical markers, and monuments—to stock up on Poké Balls and helpful items. Catching, hatching, evolving, and more As you level up, you’ll be able to catch more-powerful Pokémon to complete your Pokédex. You can add to your collection by hatching Pokémon Eggs based on the distances you walk. Help your Pokémon evolve by catching many of the same kind. Choose a Buddy Pokémon to walk with and earn Candy that will help you make your Pokémon stronger. Compete in epic Gym battles You’ll join one of three teams and battle for the ownership of Gyms with your Pokémon at your side. As your Charmander evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard, you can battle together to defeat a Gym and assign your Pokémon to defend it against all comers. Team up to defeat powerful Raid Bosses A Raid Battle is a cooperative gameplay experience that encourages you to work with up to 20 other Trainers to defeat an extremely powerful Pokémon known as the Raid Boss. If you succeed in defeating it in battle, you’ll have the chance to catch an extra powerful Pokémon of your own! It’s time to get moving—your real-life adventures await! Awesome game
by IzzyTheDeveloper on 2019/02/17 16:12
Game is one of the few that brings family together in a good way. Love it! Would be nice to have a suggestion box in the settings menu. I would really like to see bubble effects appear on lucky Pokemon background. Other types have their effects working, but water type effects get overwritten by golden backdrop.
Great game
by robloxFinatic on 2019/02/17 15:53
Always new updates and events happening. Won’t work well if you have less than an I phone 5 tho.
Error
by VinnyRules Gaming on 2019/02/17 15:18
I played Pokémon go before and I loved it, but I made a new account and whenI try to catch a Pokémon it will say “This item can’t be used right now 26” Please fix this! If it is because you stopped support for it I wish I could have it back. Thanks!
Okayish
by Divergent Hufflepuff on 2019/02/17 15:03
Whenever I open the app, there’s the intro an everything. But once I start to walk around and Pokémon, it goes immediately to a screen that says “Pokémon Go” in grey. I also don’t like how you have to go to poke stops to get the poke balls. Yes, I know you can buy them using the money, but I don’t know how to get the money in the app.
It’s good, but...
by mcorr_23 on 2019/02/17 14:32
This is actually a really good game, and I play it a lot on a daily basis. But, the game won’t let me buy coins. I’ve tried everything, logging out, deleting the game and re downloading it, restarting my iphone, hard booting my iphone, but nothing’s working. I just need more pokéballs!!!
This is great but has issues.
by unizap on 2019/02/17 14:11
This is a good game but it has a few issues. In the bag list, there is a yellow bag and an blue bag, but no red. Also, there is no free glasses. I think there should be one pair so the people that wear glasses can wear glasses. There is also almost no lures at all when you get to higher levels about LV 20 why? It is annoying. Also, sometimes I am like right next to a gym not moving, and it will not let me in. That is bad. So there are still lots of bugs. But on the other hand, we can battle and trade now. But the trading. Good for the most part, but what if I wanna trade multiple times? It does not ask you or anything. It just kicks you out. Also, the weather is not near accurate. It warns you it’s raining out when you are already outside and it is not raining. So just make things more fair for the team’s color choices, get some free glasses, and everything. Please consider this. Thank you.
1 problem
by Rhanashrite0 on 2019/02/17 14:01
Overall its a great game but i just opened a special reserch box and had to use 50 balls and run out just to try and catch a suicane. Its ridiculous.
Developers please read.
by GoalbusterZ1 on 2019/02/17 13:17
I cannot play. I downloaded the app and opened it. I created an avatar, but when the game told me to catch my starter, I couldn’t. I tapped Squirtle, and threw a Pokéball at him and it hit him. But instead of going inside of the ball, it took me to the previous screen and asked me to catch a starter. But a red banner came down and it said “item cannot be used at this time”. I shut down my iPad. I shut it down again. And again. Nope. I deleted the app and tried. Nope. And every time the same thing happened as before, with the red banner. I rate it five stars because it has amazing graphics. Beautiful. And somehow, I still enjoyed the game a lot. Although I would love it even more if you could fix this bug. Please do fix the problem, and I will update this review saying it is fixed. Thank you if you read this, developers. Bye!
Stats issue

Fix the login bug already!!!
by DingedDragon on 2019/02/17 08:01
UPDATE: So thanks to the ongoing login issues, I totally missed out on this month’s community day. I was finally able to login for about 10 minutes... two hours AFTER the event ended. It would be nice if you would do something for those of us who have been cheated out of our bonuses and events due to the problems caused by the recent update. Maybe have a special event or increase the number of items we get at pokestops. Granted that would have to be AFTER YOU FIX THE PROBLEMS. Otherwise it would be pointless. Your troubleshooting guide does nothing to fix the problem. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled seven times in the last week. Your last update totally screwed things up and now I’ve missed out on three days in a row of bonuses because when I do get logged in it kicks me out right when I spin a pokestop! You know it’s a problem, and now I see the obvious FAKE POSITIVE REVIEWS that you’re flooding the App Store with to try and bury the negative ones. I’m losing all respect for Niantic because of this. It’s been a week. FIX IT! Admit that there is a problem with the last update and stop trying to tell people to refer to the troubleshooting guide.

Accusation.
by GT:DabsRUs206 on 2019/02/17 06:31
Opened my Pokémon Go app just recently and was given a warning that they believe I am using a third party app. They gave a formal warning stating this is my first strike and another strike will cause suspension in my account but I don’t use those type of apps. Either there is a problem with the way that they double check and verify that stuff or it might have been a mistake. I don’t want to loose my hard earned Pokémon because of a mistake on their end!

Great Game! Some Food For Thought Below.
by Xenoaedriac on 2019/02/17 02:51
I love this game and I just wanted to ask for a few features through the app review to see if we can’t make it happen or at least get someone to read this message. 1) I’d really like an open feedback to Niantic for things like this. It’d make it easier to amass thoughts from the community as to what changes we’d like to see 2) Can we please get a search bar on the Pokédex?? It’s a pretty big pain trying to search the whole Pokédex to find the entry I’m looking for. 3) Drop physical event dates quite a bit before the event (at least 3 months in my head) so that we can adequately plan to travel to wherever they plan the event for. I’m all for event taking place in all kinds of different places, but more people should be made aware so that it can really drum up hype and more people can plan to visit whatever place it happens at next. And that’s all I really have time to say since I don’t want to type for an hour. Again, really enjoy the game. Hopefully this can lead to some future changes.
Worst app ever

Awesome game but...
by Abbiellegurlly on 2019/02/16 23:48
I love the game so much! But a suggestion is that to make generations go quicker. My sister and I REALLY want Glaceon and Leafeon to be here already. Another suggestion is that there is not many ways to get an Eevee. It is SO rare. I think the last one in existence was the one at Target. So here in Hawai’i, we have trouble getting Eevee. Those are 2 suggestions that I really want. Other than that, Plusle and Minun are cute! And keep up the good work!
Awesome but please read
by Exactly 30 characters on 2019/02/16 23:37
I think you should be able to switch your team at least once. Also, you can't get shinies from eggs without having friends and I am 12 so I can't get friends yet. Besides that, great game.
Amazing game but fix the button
by Blayer the player on 2019/02/16 23:30
The button to “teach a Pokémon a new move” is in an extremely inconvenient place and I, on multiple occasions, have accidentally spent my stardust and candies teaching a useless Pokémon a new move, please move the button back down
Fun but one thing.....
by Vixen Flare on 2019/02/16 23:26
I love playing this game a lot!!! But.....maybe when finding a Pokémon that has not been caught yet should require the location and how many steps away you are from the Pokémon?
Updates
by Derp_3 on 2019/02/16 22:55
Me and my son play Pokémon Go! Very casually, and we are very annoyed with the frequent mandatory updates. The updates would have been OK if it weren’t for the size; almost every update is over 150Mb.
Missing Feature
by Qwertyuiopqwerty on 2019/02/16 22:18
It would be better if you can make a chat option between your friends lists And on the gym where you left your Pokémon to communicate to the trainer who left their Pokémon at the gym. 🤔

All the new additions to this game make it no longer fun to play. It glitches there’s way too many facets to it to make it fun anymore and it has become stressful. Just keep the game fun but I guess they have to make money somehow.
It used to be good
by SousaGoose on 2019/02/16 21:52
The game was amazing 2016-17, but it’s really dropped off recently. They’ve come out with a whole new micro transaction crap and it’s just awful the way they try to scam you. Half the time it seems like you’re playing terrible AI. It was fun, it’s just not the same anymore.

In the Pokemon series ash has infinite pokèballs but in the game you start with 60. I get that it’s not going to be exact but you run out of Pokemon balls fairly quick
Better
by Wnderlust on 2019/02/16 16:35
Since the release this game has gotten so much better. Can you guys add in if you get a certain streak going you get poke balls. I’m spending too much money on them with the lack of poke stops around me or me unable to get to them.
Fun great game but...
by 十斤如心 quach on 2019/02/16 16:35
We should have unlimited poke balls. I live in an area that doesn’t have many poke stops, but there are places that have that I don’t usually go to. Just a suggestion 🙂 and there’s this restaurant named Eastern Palace in Ohio that has beautiful stone lions in the front. Can you make it a poke stop like other Chinese restaurants 😅

1 Star Until Rip-off Scheme is Corrected
by AronChad on 2019/02/16 14:56
The only in-app purchase that has a good deal on effective items also includes 10 premium raid passes. Premium raid passes are the only item that cannot be deleted, and clog up the inventory forcing you buy more storage space. Such an obvious scam.
AWESOME👍👍

Disappointing
by Fingitup on 2019/02/16 14:16
I have been playing for the last year or so, and at first everything was awesome. Catching tons of shineys on community day. Randomizes drops from weekly field research boxes. However since Beldum Day shiney rates are all but non existent. You get the same legendary dog from your weekly research. For me at least the last 6 weeks. Support is a joke. Talking about how random everything is. It doesn’t look random to me. It’s predictable. Anyways thanks for the 6 Entei. Looks like I need to make 6 accounts to use them all!
Gym battles and GPS

2/15/18 My carrier doesn’t have strong signal, but when I am in gauge to the gym and a show me I’m at a range I cannot close out of the gym battle by pressing ask and I have to restart the app. 2/5 Ditto is nowhere been found over the last six months, probably deleted and after you trade you only get candy for your previously owned Pokémon. Literally five minutes after posting this a Dirto showed up from Ratatat. He had a shiny skin town.
I have 21 Sinnoh Stones :/
by FelixTruvere on 2019/02/16 10:02
Please stop “awarding” me Sinnoh Stones in my tedious, boring battling of weak computer-bot trainers. I was just awarded 5 of them :( PLEASE take them back they’re filling up my space... yes you want me to purchase more space... got it 👍🏼 Look man... I’m level 40 and I sure hate to think I’ve come this far to see things become THIS boring now with not so much to look forward to. I’ll suppose I’ll ask for more stardust? Niantic, you owe us more. I’m not talking about owing anything to these new level 25ers, I’m talking about your REAL level 40 trainers with 50 Arcanines & 50 Vaporeons evolved from July, 2016. My satisfaction of pleasure in passing time with this game is now down to only being able to power up lesser Pokémon that aren’t powered up yet. I can’t show off my legendary Pokémon in gyms so.... where are my bragging rights? What are you giving your die-hard gamers? What respect can we show off now that we make level 40? Game over? Can you at least throw us a level 40 jacket for free in the shop??? Something to show off? No one knows or cares that my Mewtwo is powered all the way & maxed above 4000 CP because I CANT SHOW THAT OFF; SO WHATS THE POINT? Trainers like Ash (let’s face it), want bragging rights. Let me AT LEAST leave my legendary Pokémon at gyms. At LEAST give that thrill to your level 40ers. I need more.

Angry Mother
by Lunar is on 2019/02/16 08:46
I have played this game since day one of its release and my twins love to play it as well. All of us have accounts but do to financial restrictions we have to share my phone. Everyone takes turns playing with me playing daily and them playing more weekly. Due to people constantly that like to abuse the game I have to tell my children they can’t play anymore due to Niantic having to go to the extremes of registering accounts to devices. So now unless I can afford two more devices and have a internet plan to pay for their play they don’t get to be apart of the Pokémon community even though we have broken the rules. I love Pokémon Go and my kids love Pokémon but with account being put on lockdown to stop dishonest play for the first time in my life I’m a bomb of emotions that my 13 year old boys can’t have their accounts. Even if I sacrifice my own only one can play. If you can afford to have multiple devices and share this with your family then it’s amazing. For people like me who can’t it’s no longer fun.
iPhone Xs Max Display
by admirerden on 2019/02/16 08:43

This game is great
by Hdhdhehejeuiei899 on 2019/02/16 06:01
I played since 2016 stopped for a while because they were no near stops near me.When I went to college everyone was playing Pokémon go so I downloaded it again and liked it .There was a gym in the library that sometimes had raids also my math class was next to 2 pokestops that me and my friends would take turns putting a lure.Something that I have seen is that raid passes should be easier to get because it's hard really hard trying to catch 5 stat raids the Pokémon always escapes can you make it easier to get raids and also I have bought a lot of special big big box can you pick the items you want I don't really use eggs and stardust ,also encubators I'm fine with the basic ones you get I would rather have 17-25 raid passes for the price of 1500 coins. Can you make for community day easier to be part of instead of being only in some parts of the world. Please keep up the good work. :')

Needs a fix for rural areas
by _TechWizz_ on 2019/02/16 00:53
It’s pretty fun to play when I’m in a big city. With this it is the opposite of the actual games and tv shows. It would make more sense to find more or rarer Pokémon in rural areas. Even finding more water types near water ways and lakes. It’s a little hard but maybe even an offline mode to help in courage people to go out and explore rats then jumping from WiFi to WiFi when you’re data runs out. The main thing I want to fix is more Pokémon in rural areas. Living in Montana it’s hard to play because there’s nothing around but rural areas.
The over capacity egg problem
by usuehshs on 2019/02/16 00:21
Pokémon Go is a super awesome game, and I love exercising with it, but, I’m having problems with too many eggs than I can handle, and I can’t buy enough incubators to hatch them all. I know it sounds like I’m wining and complaining, but I had an idea, what if you could trash eggs? That way you don’t feel overwhelmed by all the eggs you keep getting from the gifts your friends keep sending you.

To much bugs
by Fairy Queen123 on 2019/02/15 22:32
Ok so after the update every time I would go to buy something for the shop and I would tap exchange something it always loads for more than 15 minutes. I will close application and open the app again and when ever I am on WiFi the game says that there isn’t and makes me sign in again. Also when you going into an area with no connection to any internet and you can’t use your data tans there is a Pokéstop and I gym you can’t get to them. Also when I was in a raid battle the game wouldn’t let me switch a Pokémon with another and I wouldn’t let me quite the battle and I had to close application and open the app again and it wouldn’t load all the way so I had to walk all the way back home and it still wouldn’t work and I have a ton of data in my phone not used yet. Also I feel like that some Pokémon need to appear more often because I have been playing from the day this game came out and I have yet to see some Pokémon at all never. Also the game is super glitchy and laggy. And I want that fixed as soon as possible. I don’t like giving bad reviews so please fix these problems. Thank you.

Deplorable
by whybotherright on 2019/02/15 21:10
The makers of this game must not know how to work since they can’t see the value in a lunch break. Why would I waste minutes and walk blocks for a pokemon that’s just going to flee? Why would I click on a pokestop right after I got items from it just to let a pokemon on the screen disappear for no reason? It is torturous trying to get candies for certain pokemon. This game really knows how to piss people off and that’s it

It’s an absolute pain to have to update the app just to play the game. Seriously, it’s a complete turn off to have to deal with this especially for folks who are not near WiFi or do not have unlimited data to update while out and about trying to enjoy the game.

This game is not that bad but the thing is , is that it’s impossible to get in , I can’t use my email cause it won’t let me apparently, and so I did a different way and I have to go threw so many things and it has to send me a message to even set the game up when I already created my password and my email and it says that the email 24 hours to be delivered and I have 2 days to set it up other wise it’s all gone and it’s impossible to get in but it looks like a fun app.

I really like this game, and I wish I could give it a better rating, but it has been super glitchy lately. It will constantly pull up a navy blue screen at random points. As much as I enjoy the content, I will be deleting it soon if the glitch is not fixed. It is just frustrating at this point.

Getting better with each update
by Dro P. on 2019/02/15 04:05
Events are now more frequent. Pokemon in area are cycled around. Gifting and Trainer Battles are now enabled. In need of the following updates for better player experience: 1. Ability to trade all friends (Global Trade). Local trade is ok but gets lame fast since only one special trade is allowed per day. 2. Increase gift count each player can open per day. 3. Add indicator for remaining gifts allowed for remainder of day in friend list. 4. Include indicator on friends list with unopened gifts. 5. Include indicator on friends list for friendship level already increasing for the day.

by Irene319 on 2019/02/15 00:17
I just think it’s really mess up how we throw these balls at excellents and greats and these rare Pokémon won’t stay. Like my kid was throwing 4 greats in a row and two excellents and it still got out. And he gave it all sorts of berries. Now my kids is sad and disappointed. Like are you guys intentionally trying to put their hopes up and then just BOOM! Squash it like it wasn’t no big deal. I’m seriously disappointed in this game. I have a 6 year old really sad that his raid pass was wasted on a battle he won but the Pokémon wouldn’t stay. This should be fix. Same with the coins. Just saying.

Issues Signing In
by ClipClopClack on 2019/02/14 23:44
Pokemon Go has added some positive benefits to my life, and would, probably rate it as 5-star. Until recently. As of lately, I continuously get logged out of the app. When I try to log back in through my Facebook account, it sometimes connects, and sometimes a message appears telling me it failed to authenticate and try again later. I have checked for updates, updated my phone, deleted the app and re-download the app, and I'm still experiencing issues. I did contact support, and they told me I should have version 133.1, but I don't so I'm certain that is the issue, but the app isn't updating. I have version 1.101.1. I've re-download the app again and still not fixed. Any help would be much appreciated.

by Gundring on 2019/02/14 22:21
At the start I was very excited for this game/ app.. As time has passed my excited has dwindled quite a bit. Overall, I still enjoy playing PoGo, don't get me wrong. However, I should think that after a year things would be better set up. As of now the game crashes quite a bit (mostly upon "entering" a gym). When the game loads, nearby Pokémon will show for a moment, completely disappear altogether (raids too) then reappear, and repeat once or twice more before staying. Also, the ability to feed gym-dwelling Pokémon from afar currently does not work at all for myself, or my friends. I have tried using the Apple Watch app many times.. It has no problem alerting me of nearby Pokémon, but very seldom alerts me of stops. I have even tried running the game on my phone at the same time and standing right beside the stop: and nothing... I also rarely get alerts for hatching eggs in the Watch app. Again, I do still enjoy playing, I love the idea.. However, the experience and execution leaves a lot to be desired at this point. I'm no developer, though as a consumer I would truly like to see some major performance improvements, please. -Timothy (iPhone 6 Plus + Apple Watch gen. 1 - 42mm) iOS 10.3.2 -posted 7/24/17
If they get rid of all the splash screens and weather warnings

If they get rid of all the splash screens and weather warnings I will change this to a 5 Star review. At least consider making it an option in settings. Including, "I am a passenger" (though I understand that one #lawyers) Some of just want to start playing the game when we turn it on, not click theough events and weather alerts and notices and other announcements; evenif you made it where they would not come on for a week or month after clicking "hide these messages for a month" Please and Thank You, Steve

by UnbreakableLis on 2019/02/14 20:45
Please consider at least an option to change the aspect ratio on the iPad app. I hate the way it it is zoomed in and I’m not seeing half the screen. Why can’t it look like the opening niantic display page? This is my big little ask. Otherwise love the game and looking forward to community day.
Engaging and Enjoyable
by tunesmith82 on 2018/10/16 13:11
I’ve been playing since July of 2016, right after launch. I had never played the card game but was intrigued by the way the game seemed to be getting people of all ages excited. I play pretty much every day and, while it isn’t perfect, I have appreciated every update and enjoy the continuing expansion of the Pokeverse. The best thing about this game is the way it can appeal to all ages. I play with a group that includes children and retirees, men and women, gay and straight, cancer survivors, transplant recipients and a few with Autism. I love how the game gets people off their couch and out visiting different locations, and meeting new people. The Community Day events have been particularly spectacular for this. The game does have some flaws, especially if you live in rural areas where your options for play may be limited, but I think Niantic has done a good job of offering special events that help balance the game and give a boost periodically to those folks, and the addition of trading has given players a way to connect, somewhat, with players globally. It is not yet perfected, but a huge step forward. If you want a game that you can play alone, with family, or with friends, one that will help you meet new people and give you a way to make exercise fun, rather than boring, this is definitely one to try. If you played in the beginning but got bored, come back and give it a second look. Many things have changed and and you will enjoy the improvements.
Should be called PokemonGo 2.0
by Lu adjust on 2018/12/09 15:45
This game had a rocky start. It was super popular and the servers couldn’t handle it. Now the developers push a new event almost all the time. Getting mew was fun and challenging(Ditto). Celebi and Spiritomb were arduous to obtain but Meltan has been extremely challenging because I don’t have a Nintendo switch. They have also pulled off some very awesome community days once a month where you get a similar ambiance to when the game first came out. Tons of people playing! They also used one of them to introduce a new mythical Pokémon in a very creative way. I have enjoyed the new raid and research updates. We just need more ways to get silver pinaps. Trading has been introduced to the game in a way that doesn’t ruin it and trading rare Pokémon with strangers is costly but with people you interact with daily it’s cheap. The game is mostly free to play but I have personally spent some money on it. There was an egg event and I wanted more incubators. Anyways I wasn’t ever forced to buy anything and it isn’t like other apps where they throw sales in your face as pop ups every time you log in. You can earn 50 in game coins per day without paying a dime but that can be drastically easier or harder based on where you live. In the past year this game has drastically changed into something truly addictive and fun to play. I can’t wait to see what they bring to the game next year.
I’m always outside, thanks Niantic!
by vivalagloria! on 2018/08/09 15:22
I am loving all of the events and things we have to look forward to. Community days were a great idea. Friends and trading were wonderful updates that added a lot to the game, though I wish that there was an option to toggle off the exact location and map directions in the gift you send people. Even better if you could turn on/off per friend level or even individual friends as well as an all on/off. Also, if you could create a kind of lure for gyms where raids are happening, and nearby players could see that and head over because they know people are there to raid. Lure could last 5-10min so people can wait for it to run out (and if they don’t want to wait, they don’t use the lure). And nearby players can view the raid and leave like a thumbs up or thumbs down so others know someone is on their way. The GO community has really come together and made raid planning possible in a lot of places, but this would be more inclusive to those that haven’t joined their local community or that live rurally and have a hard time getting enough people. These are just suggestions for improvements to an already amazing game that I am pretty happy with, Pokémon GO has come a long way since those first several months of release where I always seemed to be annoyed at Niantic. So, well done :)
Great game but more content plz
by 5 STAR!!!!!!!!<3 on 2018/05/03 21:05
I love the game and its easy to use interface but I and all of my friends at school agree that your amazing game lacks some necissary content to be a truly great game. I belive you should add trading pokemon above all else and along with that casual battles with near by players. Now for my personal favorite addition is that some people have a daily struggle with living in a small town like mine where there is literaly 1 pokestop in all of town and you never go near it so that results in having a very limited supply of poke balls which is by far the most important item in the game because without them you cant catch anything which results in the lack of xp which means you cant level up. You cant get good cp pokemon (much less pokemon at all) which means no gyms or raids. To combat this major issue I propose you and some sort of daily spin or add more pokestops and gyms. Now I doubt you (the devs) will see this much less read it all but if you do I greatly appreciate it. Thank you as I hope this may help bring life back into this once amazing and well played game. P.S. ( I am saying this not only to make this game more fun for me but all of the friends I play this game with are compaining about a few of these issues and I would like to continue playing the game with the game with them as this is the only game I play and I fear they may quit playing if you do not add content. )
Suggestion
by marsyuu on 2018/11/27 19:50
I’ve played Pokémon games over 20 years. Pokémon Go is a great mobile game that combines entertainment and daily health keeping. However, as a Pokémon game, it needs more interactivity between people. Many people are waiting for PVP since the first day when the game has lunched. The current mechanics seems pretty simple (horizontal swipe, no special attack/defense, no Mega Evolution/form change, etc). For example, Deoxys and Giratina have multiple forms base on the original design, but not just catch them separately (without form change function). It looks like they are different Pokémon, but not the one who has ability to change form. Also, some Pokémon colors are weird after Niantic uses Unity 3D as game engine (e.g. Staryu). Also, Niantic should make more choices for the Style function. If people can change their in-game hair, face or add more item will be better. Finally, John Hanke has mention he is trying to bring all Niantic games to the mainland China, but it seems like not very easy. People can understand Chinese market has different policy, but it could corporate with big companies such us Tencent or NetEase to open the market. Hope people in the mainland China can play Pokémon Go as same as Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. This valuable IP made by Nintendo and Game Freak should allow everyone can join it before copy cats occupy the market. Thank you.
Great Game BUT........
by canine baker on 2018/07/17 13:28
This is a wonderful game, great to get people out and moving I definitely recommend it for people who live in populated areas and towns BUT if you live in the rural areas and the country sides of this country where service is spotty and where they placed most all the stops and gyms there is NO SERVICE then playing this game is almost worthless. As a player moving from the city to the country it almost leaves me no choice but to quit or almost forget about the game, sad because I’m a paying player. I read how Niantic was working hard at trying to come up with a resolution for RURAL players but every update and addition to the game benefits populated players. Even trying to contact help support and Niantic is a waste of time, all you will get is a return email where someone will just copy and paste the same answers over and over again, if you cared to do something about this critical issue then maybe taking a moment and conversing with the rural players may help. I hate to have to leave this game but Niantic does not seem to care if they lose their rural players and that is so sad as if you maybe took the time to work with rural players the issue could be resolved, I say to the populated players get out and have an awesome time playing this game and don’t complain about adding a couple bucks to the game it is a lot cheaper then a night out to the movies and a lot more fun with the family! Signed The forgotten rural players!
Rural players matter too!!
by ivel420 on 2017/11/05 03:11
I love this game and play everyday but some recent changes are really hurting rural players. I live in a town of >1500 people and we have a Pokémon base of maybe 50 players around town, many of us having full time jobs, kids, or school or any combination of the 3. Sometimes it gets really difficult to get a enough players together for raids especially legendary raids that require a group of 7-8 or more because most of the players in rural areas like this aren’t much higher level than 25.. even some of the most active players are still only 30-33. Now you’ve changed the raid timers down to 45 there will be even less raids happening in my area. Most of the raids we were able to complete have been in the last 10-15 minutes of the 1 hour raids. Also the raid boss switch is pretty lame in my opinion the level 4s aren’t even worth while anymore at least before every once in a while you could get a snorlax or t-tar. Now the best thing is golem and what avid players don’t already have an army of them from fighting the legendary birds? Sableye and porygon are the only decent changes but now there is nothing with the strength of alakazam or machamp that is worth while for tier 3 and lower. Your changes have been for the worse and you are just making your fan base angrier with these useless changes when you should be focused on giving us thing we all want like trading, pvp, mew, and the rest of gen 2!!
Good but could be better
by Ravenlunatyk on 2018/04/25 01:08
I’ve been playing almost since the beginning and am a daily player. Love the research tasks. I do however think niantic is a bit greedy. Let me start off by saying I buy coins at least once a month if not more during special events. With that said can you tell me why it takes me five balls to catch a 112 weedle? I’m level 38. I should catch them with the first ball. I don’t mind it head butting the ball away but it should not break free when I catch it at my level. What’s the point of golden raspberries or regular for that matter when they do nothing? Why am I 3 for 11 on latios raid? I throw great curveballs every time. I should have better odds at my level. What’s the point of the levels if you are not benefiting any where in the game? Just disappointed. Feel some thought should go in to how you do when catching either wild or raid bosses based on level otherwise it’s all meaningless. Don’t make me waste balls on crappy or low xp rats, it’s not challenging, it’s annoying. That’s why people quit or take breaks. Lures and incense are completely useless. Don’t do jack. Stop putting them in special boxes. Also sick of same ones everyday. The only time you mix it up is during special events. It’s just lazy computer script writing. Otherwise the game is fun and worth trying whether your a fan of the series or not. But have to give three stars because you work really hard to level up for NOTHING.
A LOT better than before, improvements still needed
by AIcoholic on 2018/09/21 16:33
I downloaded day one and like a vast amount of people stopped playing after 6 months. 5 months ago I got back into PoGo as a lot of my coworkers play it. The improvements are great. I still think though there are many many more simple additions that can make the game even better. Please cache the Pokédex pictures, I don’t even know why I have to suggest this. Seems like a no brainer. Raids - need a waiting room that is visible to people in your map area (not right on top of gym) that you can wait in BEFORE spending a gym pass. While in the waiting room you can ping your friends to join you (or even nearby players). I know PvP is in the works but additional gameplay is needed. The monotonous grind can definitely get old, and although new generations of Pokémon subdue this, it will eventually lead to decline in players. Mini games or additional tasks/achievements would be great. Legendary gyms is a great idea, having defensive legendaries like Regiice is almost pointless besides the dex entry. This gym could only house legendaries and you get good loot for batting legendaries. This would add another element of leveling your defensive legendaries that are non-existent in the meta. Having gyms with Pve gym leaders you need to defeat like a gauntlet (similar to the gameboy games) would be awesome!! These aren’t difficult additions, please listen to us Niantic!!!
Not gonna lie
by aahliegh on 2018/08/29 23:50
I’m not even going to lie, I’m 27 and absolutely love this game. I grew up with Pokémon and this is by far the best Pokémon game. I stopped playing for a year or so because I reached the top level and got bored with it; about 6 months ago my husband convinced me to redownload it because of the numerous new features and two more generations of Pokémon that had been added to the game. Unfortunately as of lately I’ve been having nothing but problems with getting it to load. This is now the third time in a week that I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the game and unfortunately this time it doesn’t appear to even be reinstalling. And yes the app and phone software are all up to date and everything like that. On top of that, on my other phone, if/when the game loads it no longer loads all of the way. It’s genuinely one of the most frustrating things I’ve been dealing with because playing this game keeps me out of trouble and out of my own head. It’s definitely become my biggest hobby and biggest outlet, so when I’m stressed out to the max and it doesn’t want to load - which seems to be every single time I’m excessively stressed lately- it just makes everything worse. I was praying that these last batch of updates they did would have fixed that but I haven’t even been able to get the game to load since it updated! That is literally the only downside to it and unfortunately it’s a major one.
After a lot of work...
by Martsthefarts on 2018/07/14 20:56
I got through the bad things about this app (Making an account took forever and I got stuck on loading) I have enjoyed the good stuff. I am on a roadtrip and as such I have been able to sit down, relax, then get exercising because the game has plenty of Poké Stops in cities, suburban areas have schools as Poké Stops sometimes, and basically, as long as you are near a Poké Stop you can enjoy this app to the fullest. Partly Cloudy weather has lead to me being able to catch so many different Pokémon and within a few minutes of playing I caught an Eevee and I love my Water Pokemon that I caught so far (Water is my favorite type) and I have enjoyed being able to play this game that has encouraged me to Pokémon GO outside and get exercise! At first the app seems blank, sure, but then you walk around and find a group of Plusle, Minun, Geodude, and so many more. And thankfully catching one doesn’t scare all the others away. I haven’t caught Pikachu, one of my favorite Pokémon, but on this road-trip I feel like I am destined to find one. I don’t care if I have to walk around the campground until 10:00 At Night. I will do what all my years of playing Pokémon has taught me. I will tell myself this everytime I feel tired and there is a nearby Poké Stop. Gotta Catch ‘em All! But seriously. Don’t put yourself in danger playing this app. Even if that shiny Magikarp (The King of Carp!) is right there. Don’t drown for it.
A really good game but some disappointments
by SUPER SANICCCCC MLG on 2018/04/17 10:36
Pokémon GO is a really good game. I like the fact that the game makes you go outside to catch Pokémon. The game makes you really excited about what you are going to catch next... but there are a few thing I want to talk about, like regional Pokémon. I think that you guys at Niantic should think of something to people is the USA can catch Pokémon like mr. mine and let the people in England catch Tauros with out needing to fly there just to catch ONE Pokémon. Another thing is the Field Research. I like it a lot and when you finish it and get the “Mystery Pokémon” you either get Moltres, Zapdose, or Articuno. But when you finish it a second time around, you get the same legendary Pokémon. I think that every time you get the field research mystery encounter should be a different bird Pokémon. And after you get all the three legendary bird Pokémon, It would give you The legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, then onto the GEN two legendary Pokémon, then to the GEN three Pokémon etc, etc. I think this would be a good idea for the people who missed out on the special raids like for Mewtwo and the other Legendary Pokémon. Please make this an update because I’m only a 12-year-old boy who has been in Pokémon GO since the beginning and the only 2 legendary Pokémon I have are Entei and Moltres, which I got from the Field Research. Thank you.
Love it but....
by kenketcham on 2018/07/30 02:14
I’m gonna keep this short and sweet I’ve recently picked up Pokémon go again after about 7 months of not playing this game I once was obsessed with now I can say that it definitely has grown in a lot of ways but still things need to be changed starting with people in rural areas have a tough time really playing this game because of the lack of poke stops and variety of Pokémon given to them. I myself live in the Suburbs and also once lived in the city and FYI it’s such a drastic difference in terms of pokestops and Pokemon in general the cities are obviously flooded with both while the suburbs yet not completely empty still lacks the ability to grow within this game, but back to my point I have friends who love this game who live in much more rural areas and they just can’t really grow or have much fun with this wonderful game and they become extremely frustrated with it because they really must travel such a distance to be able to play this game it was obviously meant to be played with gym battles galore, pokestop madness and obviously new Pokédex entries. So I conclude this with Niantic you guys have really made this game fun again but please show more of a distribution of Pokémon, gyms, and pokestops to all your players across the country because I want this game to do better then it has ever been. P.s. sorry for the lack of punctuation
Love this game so much, but some flaws cause it to be so frustrating
by Jaclynlou on 2018/01/18 19:42
There have been a few times where I’ve been in a very large raid group (10-20 people) and a few of us will get kicked out in the middle of the battle and we won’t be allowed back in (even when there’s time left on the clock) to catch the Pokemon. There have been times where after this glitch happens, I will still have my raid pass, but all of my Pokemon will be injured or knocked out. There are also times where I have lost my raid pass in this glitch and it causes me to have to buy another one on the spot. It’s very frustrating and embarrassing to commute far out to meet up with a raid group, only to have the game glitch out on me. I’ve been playing this game since the day it came out and glitches like this cause me to get very discouraged and flustered. That being said, I love this game so much; it truly makes my long walk into work better and more fun, AND it encourages me to go out for walks during my lunch break. I would say that it has been a very positive influence on my life and some of my friends lives. It makes my day more exciting, and it helps me feel a level of nostalgia considering I played all of the Pokemon games growing up. I hope this game is up and running forever, I just wish that some of the gym issues would get cleaned up a bit :)
Pokémon go is OK
by OldGamers01 on 2018/12/18 22:14
I like Pokémon GO it’s very simple now very hard to use and it takes you out of all of the house and help his people to walk about and explore but the one thing I have problems with is that when I logged on for the first time I was at level one and then also I had a glitch and also I became level six on the red team even though I never chose that team the problem with this Pokémon go is that the team that develop the And the support system there is terrible because when I tell him about my issue they won’t even respond to my problem I was trying to tell him that I did not pick my team and they were saying that we can’t do anything about it once you pick your team there’s nothing that you can do I also try to reset my account with my new email and I didn’t do any good like I had really had issue with the login is your for Pokémon go and the support staff on that game was terrible they need to learn to have some Consideration about their customers if there’s a problem they should take the time and look into issues instead of just sitting on the automated discussions about what we need to know stuff like that the support system was really terrible in my case I mean the game is fine not gonna lie but the support system is terrible though tech-support for their game is terrible I even went to the website and didn’t do anything about it
Best game ever

Almost. I love the new trading and friend system, this has been one of my favorite games over the last couple years. But I think that you guys should add a chat system to organize raids better. It could be like a messaging system between friends only so that way there no trouble with stalking or anything negative like that but it would make it easier to organize raid parties without having to download a third party app like WhatsApp which requires you to let everyone know your phone number. Also it would be great to be able to buy great or ultra balls from the shop as well. I walked at a park near me for about 30 miles and caught every Pokémon that appeared. By the end of the walk I only received about 40 ultra balls and 50 great balls which sounds great until you consider that I walked for 9 hours. I received plenty of regular poke balls though(over 250 to be exact). One last note, I live in Miami and there are plenty of places to go play Pokémon go but sometimes I wish I could just walk around my area without having to travel to play. There’s plenty of things that could be pokestops near me but just aren’t. There are 2 churches on my corner that don’t have pokestops. Right across the street there is a building with a cool design that could be a pokestops but I refuse to download ingress just to request pokestops.
Similar to real game
by NOtaterJUSTtat on 2018/10/21 03:19
I started playing July 2016 but due to all the glitches and lack of Pokémon I stopped playing for a few years. The reason I started up again was because a friend recommended to try it. Now gifts can be exchanged, the Pokémon generations are mostly caught up, and there are a lot more stops and gyms to interact with. My main issue with this game is the lack of interaction with other players. I would like to be able to battle with nearby trainers like the real Pokémon game allows. Also during gym battles, there should be an option to switch Pokémon in between defeats. Those are the rules in a real Pokémon battle and this should be applied to this game. Pokémon should also gain experience after battles to help build them up. I understand the candy concept but those should be bonus experience/cp. I have lost a few great catches due to the glitches/network errors which is very frustrating! Other than that I enjoy catching Pokémon and spinning stops on my walk up to work through the downtown area. It’s a nice way to see the town. EDIT I forgot to mention: I’m not sure why but when I’m on the bus or in any vehicle as a passenger I should be able to spin stops for rewards not “try again later”. It doesn’t make sense to allow me the option to catch Pokémon but I can’t get stops or gain steps with my eggs or buddy.
Very good game!

Hi I am going to tell you about all the good things about this game to me. No offense to the people who don’t like this game. This is just my opinion. First of all, I think the leveling is great, it’s not too hard or easy to level up when you are playing constantly and doing easy things. Next, I really like the types of Pokémon, like Legendary and Mythical Pokémon. Also, trading, sending gifts and battling other trainers I think really helps the other player( and you of course )get to know each other in the game and personally better. There are not many things that are bad about this game but there are some that I really want you to change. First, getting to ultra friend or higher to battle. I think you should change this because it is very hard to get to ultra friend and I really want to battle my friend that lives in the Bay Area But I live 3hr far from him! I think you should lower the level. 2nd I think you should lower the price of stardust when trading for all players. Last, I think you should give more pokecoins when the Pokémon comes back defeated. I think in the end, this game can really get to be fun and give you exercise at the same time! To me, this game is more fun than bad. So why don’t go out and play Pokémon go!
Great, but still missing some stuff
by Tabarius Quan on 2018/06/14 17:58
I played this game on and off since it first came out in 2016. And while I think it’s a solid game, it’s still missing out on some things. There’s still really poor rural and suburban representation in Pokémon go, especially in regards to raids and pokestops. I understand if raids have to take place in towns, but it wouldn’t hurt to have at least some amount of pokestops near communities. I live near a local park and there are zero pokestops there. I understand that there’s an option to create pokestops indirectly through another Niantic game, Ingress, but from my experience that game isn’t properly optimized for newer iPhones, and the base-building system is clunky and tedious. It would make more sense for Pokémon GO players to create new pokestops in gardens and parks, so that they can more easily play the game away from the city or towns. Another minor complaint is the sound. What was the deal with the sudden degrade in sound quality? Was that for saving battery life? Another good thing to add would be to battle other players’ Pokémon directly, instead of going to a raid or a gym and battling their Pokémon there. Niantic still needs to realize that not all of their player base is willing to drive 10 miles to go catch and see Pokémon. If these issues would be fixed this game would be 5 stars.
New update is great but it might as well have totally killed the go plus device
by Holyman47201 on 2017/12/20 01:38
Update with the newest version. Really annoying bug I’m hoping it’s a bug at least. Every time you transfer or rename a Pokémon it always jumps back to the top of the list instead of staying where you were. Very annoying and time wasting change having to scroll all the time. I really like the changes in the new update. The weather pattern thing is great. The button push charge move in gym battles is a huge improvement. The spawn rates have improved. Overall a really great update. However, it has basically killed any usefulness the go plus device had. The catch rate wasn’t great before, but at least it was acceptable for what it was. That definitely changed with the update. With the weather feature causing affected Pokémon to be higher cp the plus is even worse. You just can’t catch an almost maxed out anything with a regular ball. I would suggest what I think would be a fairly easy fix. Maybe have the game automatically start a catch attempt with a suggested ball instead of a regular one every time. Ie... if it pops up and I see the circle yellow I switch to a great ball. Red goes to ultra balls. Have the game/go plus be smart enough to do the same thing. I have huge stockpiles of great and ultra balls so I’d rather the plus use those to improve the catch rate.
The game has really grown
by Claydol123 on 2018/09/23 03:10
I remember when the game came out 2 years ago. It was rough around the edges at best. It was the first of its kind and was revolutionary but crashed often, servers struggled, and to path to being the best wasn’t strait forward. The game was good at keeping you active but that was about it at the start. I remember a year ago it started getting better in terms of crashing, but still the encounter rate of certain Pokémon made it seem like they actually weren’t in the game. All you could find were pidgeys and rattatas. When the legendary raids came out a spark of life struck the game but there was still a lot of room for improvement. Now it’s September 2018 and the game has grown so much. There are a lot more Pokémon, and I encounter rare ones periodically rather than never. I enjoyed the Chikorita community day earlier today as well. A crowded university with hundreds of people all doing the same thing was really fun! I crashed a few times but overall the game is a lot sturdier than it used to be, at least on the iPhone. I feel like Niantic is actually taking our worries into consideration to a certain extent. I hope the game continues to go in the right direction. With all said and done I consider the current Pokémon go 5/5.
Love it, but needs improvement
by GamingWiizard on 2018/04/30 23:28
To start this off, I want to let you know that this is a great game. Even though it was the craze a year or two back, I’ve just started playing a week ago and love it! There’s only a couple things that I would like that might get other players back into it. First off, changing that battle system is a must. Players do not like the mad tapping and sliding you do when you battle a gym. Maybe switching it to the usual battle style will keep players happy. Secondly, I think adding battling and trading with other players will make it more enjoyable. I personally, don’t have the money to fly to another region and catch a Pokémon that is region specific. If we had trading, you could trade with someone elsewhere that might have the Pokémon. Also, the battling will keep players engaged to the point where they will try and beat their friends by catching more powerful Pokémon. Last but not least, I think you should add NPCs to the game. With the battle mechanics you could add trainers to battle against and earn rewards for winning! That would give players enough enthusiasm to go and battle trainers. Adding the evil organizations like Team Rocket could also add some spice to the game. That’s all I have, and thank you for reading!
Great Fun!!!
by YogiDBear on 2017/10/22 15:57
First let me say that I’m 53 years old, so I’m most likely not the average player of this game. I first became interested in the world of Pokémon back in 1998, when my older children discovered the TV show. Because of their heavy interest in all things Pokémon I took interest as well, trying to be a good dad. I invested HEAVILY in the card game, took the kids to weekend tournament each week, even became our local gym leader (because I was one of the rare adults who knew Pokémon as well as the children). Now we flash forward almost 20 years later an I’ve re-entered the world of Pokémon through Pokémon Go! The game is so well laid out, with quick and easy to learn game aspects, even for a newby to Pokémon. The best part of the game is that it’s design encourages the players to get out and move around. To walk and explore your town or city. Since every park, mall, restaurant, or store may be a hotspot for a new breed of Pokémon you’ve yet to catch. I’ve even been able to get my wife playing the game. Which says a lot since she almost totally avoided stuff back when our older children were heavily into the Pokémon world. This game is by far one of the best, most fun and addictive games I’ve ever played. Once you start you’ve “GOTTA CATCH EM ALL”!!!
Overall a fun game
by Chsgvfygshh on 2018/11/23 02:37
The catching system is charmingly simple yet not incredibly easy, and the game provides incentive to catch Pokémon in the form of the Pokédex. And while legendary Pokémon are obviously going to be sought after as status symbols, the gym system is painstakingly easy, but the Niantic does give pretty generous rewards for participating in gym battles, such as up to 50 premium currency a day to keep all content technically free, but I find it a chore to go out to an isolated gym or to a gym in the middle of the night just so I can make sure I cap out on 50 pokecoins a day. It is nearly impossible to fail a gym attack once you reach level 20, which isn’t a long time at all, and thus victories don’t feel fulfilling and rather tiresome. But, the game does put an emphasis on meeting up with people to battle a difficult enemy, also known as a raid, but that is the extent of difficult content, and even then you will never need more than 10 decently leveled people to breeze through a raid. I understand the combat system for raids, but I believe the gym combat system could benefit greatly from a more engaging overhaul that adds more depth. Overall, however, the charming and incredibly fun catching system compensated for the uninteresting combat system and still provides an enjoyable experience.
Not Right
by pinkdiva702 on 2018/10/25 02:39
I have been playing Pokémon go for several years now and about a year ago started getting into the raid. Until today I actually enjoyed playing Pokémon and doing the raids. I got the chance to do the new raid boss Giratina and actually had enough people to down the raid boss just before the time ran out. However I DIDNT GET Giratina because it would NOT stay in the White ball. I gave it berry’s but NOTHING WOULD HELP. I was not over throwing the balls and I didn’t miss 1 time but didn’t get the Pokémon because it would NOT stay in the ball AT ALL didn’t matter if I threw a berry or not. We do the raids to win the Pokémon and to do all that work and not win the Pokémon because it won’t stay in the ball is very wrong. It’s hard enough to actually find enough players to down a boss like Giratina where I live which is why I’m so very frustrated this happened. I’m sure some might think I’m just complaining but this is the 2nd time this has happened. I fully believe something needs to be done about this. If we are given these special white balls then it should be very hard for the Pokémon to brake out so we actually get the prize we are there for not break out as soon as it’s caught ever time. If that’s the case then why give us the special white balls .I don’t know if this has been happing to others I’m sure I’m not the only one but I can say if this happens again I will stop playing it Pokémon!!
Good, but limited now
by MoniMe2345 on 2018/10/18 04:51
This game is great. It is fun and does get you out, but some changes have occurred which have really made the game less fun. First, there is really no way to get coins, which allow you to play, without buying them (you can get some things you need within the game but it cripples your ability to play much). So now you have to pay to play more than just the minimum. Next, there is no longer any incentive to fight to capture a gym or to hold one. You can get 50 coins per day by holding a gym - but there isn’t anything you can buy for 50 coins in the game. For instance, an incubator, which lets you hatch an egg, costs 150 coins. And that’s it. You don’t get any points or experience beyond just practice fighting and you Pokémon’s are stuck in the gym until someone takes it over - which there isn’t much incentive to do. I’ve had Pokémons sit there for days waiting for someone to take the gym. I’ve noticed players now no longer support their pm’s in the gym if they are under attack and some players put in very week pm’s so they don’t have to waste resources to revive. As more players figure this out, fighting for and holding gyms will become a thing of the past. And people without money to spare will find the game frustrating and limited. So sad, because it really was a great, community game once.
Not pleased currently

I’ve been playing Pokémon go since it first came out. There have probably only been 2 game apps I’ve ever used for this long. There are two things I’m currently unhappy about. How difficult it is for rural players to get some action. It is at least 5 miles to the closest pokestop—-there’s no way of walking that far, which I thought was the main idea of PG (getting people more active). There is NO Pokemon spawning near my home. I can walk from one end of my road to the other end and there are 2 spots where they spawn. 2 lousy spots. Once I catch what’s there, it takes a while for a new one to spawn so what am I supposed to do? Turn around and walk the miles again for 2 more Pokemon? And the raid battles. There is no way on earth that a small town will ever get 17-20 people together to catch a legendary out here. It’s impossible even with social media. My second complaint is the lack of revives! I understand that you want to make money on the game but come on! Pokémon go is one of the few games I have spent money on. I have mainly bought lucky eggs and incubators. No way am I gonna sink money into revives. I guess when all my Pokémon faint I will just quit the game. It wouldn’t be as bad if there was a way to earn coins in the game. I used to earn a few coins by defending gyms but you hardly earn any coins currently.
Battery Drainer
by lolkitty21 on 2018/08/24 17:48
I really loved this game back in the beginning, and I forgot why I deleted it till I recently reinstalled it to my phone. It is a major battery killer. Ever since I downloaded it three days ago, I have been dealing with my phone randomly powering off, even when I made sure to completely close the app, or I turn off my phone at half power, then go to power it back on after a few hours, only to find that my previously charged phone is suddenly dead and won’t turn back on. I don’t know if it is just the app, or there is something more to it, but it is rather coincidental that I started having these problems shortly after downloading the app. Today, my battery life was stalled at 100% for over three hours, and I did everything I could to figure out how to fix it, including restarting the phone and meddling with the settings. The battery percentage only started going down after I deleted the app. Like I said, I doubt it was the only thing causing the power drain, but the app certainly wasn’t helping, and I hadn’t ever had these problems that I listed till the app was on my phone. Which is too bad, because I love this app, it’s cute, and I really would like to catch more Pokémon, but I don’t want to risk it. I don’t know if I am the only one who has this problem, but whatever it is, I hope it is resolved and I can download it again one day.
Great Concept, But It Could Use Polish
by RetroMarioGamer on 2017/12/23 17:34
So, Pokemon games are about getting Pokemon and pitting those Pokemon against other Pokemon, right? Well this game is just that, but without the second part. Sure, catching Pokémon in the real world with AR is genius, but it gets old after a while. And the only way to battle other Pokemon is going to gyms. Now, what’s smart about the gyms is that you need to be a certain level to enter certain gyms, which encourages you to level up more by, again, getting Pokemon. Now, what I mean by the battling part of the game not being there is this: it sort of feels like an afterthought. If your Pokemon faint in battle, you’re in for some SERIOUS grinding. First, you have to get potions from pokestops so you can use them to heal your Pokemon. But oh no! If your Pokemon aren’t leveled up enough, you can’t heal them! Wanna level them up? Sorry! Nope! YOU have to be a certain level in order to level up your Pokemon, AND THEN you can heal them. This is literally the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever experienced in a video game. Granted, gym battles are optional, but if the option is available, don’t make it so freaking tedious!! Although, I have hope that you will fix these problems, because this game used to have SEVERE internet issues, and you fixed that. So please, listen to my complaints and fix the grinding issues!!
I really love this game but I think it could use some features
by x.Hendrix.x on 2018/06/11 04:24
I genuinely love Pokémon Go. I have stuck with it since it came out. There are some things I think would be cool to add. Trading Pokémon would be great but I understand why they haven’t released it yet. There is no defeating the game or beating a final boss or anything there is just filling your Pokédex, which with trading would then be too easy. I feel like you should be able to see other players in game their like avatars I don’t see why battling other trainers in the game would be a bad feature to add I think it would be fun. Also in the other Pokémon games there were healing stations, I get we have revives and pokestops but I have found it very hard to get enough to actually do battles. I have to say rural areas should have more pokestops and more accessible Pokémon. When the game first came out I lived 7 miles from the nearest pokestop. I have to get a ride into the small town near my where I lived and even then there were like 5 pokestops throughout the town. Maybe a way to message other players would be nice because I only know like 4 people near me interested in playing this game so if I could like message people and tell them I’m going to this raid battle come join that would be cool.
Love this game. A few recommendations
by Buddy💡 on 2018/11/21 02:43
I love this game, I think it’s really fun and it was complicated at first, but now that I’ve been playing for a while (not even that long), and with the help of my mom an brother we’ve been able to figure it out. The only thing I have to say is about the avatar customizing. And it’s mostly on the hair. Ok it’s all about the hair. There aren’t that many colors to chose from, I mean I guess there’s enough for you to get a color close to yours (if you want your avatar to look like you of course). Like if you’re a red head and have more orangey hair the closest you get is a red that you can only get by dyeing your hair. Another part is the hairstyles. All there is, is medium length hair up in a ponytail. I mean it’s pretty accurate to my hair but not every girl has that length of hair and wears it up like that. I have a friend who has a pixie cut. I have a friend who has hair almost up to her chin. What about girls with curly hair? All they get is somewhat wavy hair put up in a ponytail. I know this is a long thing just about the hair, and I don’t even know what it’s like for the guys. Anyways. Sorry for this long thing about hair, but thought I should say something. Still love the game!
Niantic choosing fight against cheaters over legit players
by AndrewTre on 2018/06/22 17:42
With my account nearing 2 years of age, which will happen on the 7th of July, I have been waiting for trading since launch, and I have to say I’m disappointed, the IV reroll destroys any want for me to trade with my friends, I don’t have any interest in spending the stardust for a Pokémon I would otherwise transfer if I caught. Though I understand that it keeps cheaters and spoofers from acquiring perfect Accounts that much faster I believe it really screws the people that have been playing for 2 years now. Having played for two years, my Pokédex is pretty much full aside from regional exclusives and I looked forward to this as being an ability to fill these holes in my Pokédex with people I raid with a couple of times a week, knowing this is going to cost a million stardust, or make me wait 90 day’s for it to drop to a reasonable cost, has completely deterred me from trading all together. At the very least I would like to see the IV reroll be taken away. People are going to cheat, there’s no way around it, but I should be able to trade the High IV Pokemon that would make a much bigger impact on my friends teams then they would on mine .
Bug is preventing me from having fun
by gbunnyhop on 2018/12/01 06:12
Don’t get me wrong, I love this app to death. It gets me motivated to go on walks at my local park which has enough stops and gyms to keep me busy for hours. The problem I’m having as of recently is that every time I open the app and catch one pokemon, the surrounding pokemon disappear and then the screen has a loading icon for a bit. Sometimes the pokemon come back, but most times they don’t. It’s been frustrating because when I open the app and I have good pokemon around me that I want to catch I can never catch them all because they disappear somehow and never come back. I’m also having a problem where pokemon right now are requiring to many balls/berries for me to catch when there HP is like 400 or less (more around 250 HP) but it’s still low enough where I shouldn’t be using like ten balls and berries and then it runs away. It’s been to much lately between pokemon rates changing to where it’s not really fun anymore with all the disappearing pokemon and me having to waste so many balls on such low level pokemon. I’m sure I’m not the only one going through this with the app right now, I feel like there’s lots of bugs and there needs to be some changes I think. I just wanna get to the park and play more and enjoy myself with the app like I used to.
Great updates, but something’s really bugging me
by Lindzboots on 2018/07/05 02:44
I LOVE what you’ve done to improve the game, with friends and raids and research and everything! One thing I’m bothered by, though, is the gym/coin system. I understand needing to put a cap on how much coin can be earned from having a Pokémon in a gym, but a 50 limit per day across the board seems stilted. For example, I had a Pokémon in a gym for a little while (a day or so), and when she came home she brought 50 coins. Awesome! But then, that same day, another Pokémon from a different gym came home - one who’d been at the gym for four days - and didn’t bring anything, because I’d already reached my daily 50-coin max. I just feel like the system could be improved - maybe keep the coin-every-ten-minutes but move the 50-coin cap to be per day each Pokémon is gone? So, if a Pokémon is only gone 20 minutes he brings home 2 coins, but if he’s gone for 2 days he brings home 100, regardless of what any other Pokémon brought home that day? Just a thought. But my four-days-missed Pokémon bringing home nothing was really a bummer, and I don’t feel incentivized to keep my Pokémon in gyms for very long, with the system working the way it does....
Great game
by AncientSin606 on 2018/09/10 06:47
As far as this game could had gone, it did pretty well for itself. Niantic had some issues at the beginning, but up to now it seems that most of those issues have been solved. And about the rural players.I feel you, I live in a small town too. But there’s still a way to play the game. All you have to do is participate in community days or other big events that get players playing. You can even get some of your friends to play, making your own squad to take down those tough raids. I play with 9 of my friends and it seems to be working pretty well. Anyway, great game, loving the events, etc. the only problem that I can think of is the spoofing issue. TweakBox, tutu app and other apps are coming out with the latest spoofing hacks and Niantic seems to be falling a step behind. I hate the idea of spoofing because players like me who have been playing the game since day one now have to compete with spoofers who can grab a bunch of Pokémon and legendaries overnight. I’d like this issue to finally be solved soon, but if it can’t oh well I guess. Aside from that this game is a game that I’ll have for a looooooooong time. Keep up the great work Niantic!😁👌
Best mobile game in history
by unknownTOOL on 2018/06/20 04:55
Pokémon Go is a fantastic mobile game that models the Pokémon franchise that is Pokémon. The Pokémon and art in the game are one-hundred percent the originals and nothing looks off from previous Pokémon games. The game is completely legit. When I think of a Pokémon Game this the one that’s first in mind. If you where ever a fan of Pokémon like I am then you must agree that Pokémon Go is pretty close to being perfect and still has room to improve. By being a mobile game the game the app has to update in time and there is huge changes with the game since the day it started back in 2016. I give the game 5 starts for all the hard work that has been put forth to improve the game. It honestly is the best MOBILE game there is. You can take your device anywhere and now there is meaning why during the gameplay. You can meat people and learn about Pokémon in a way that I couldn’t before with the original game boy games I have grew up on. It’s Fantastic. The developers listen and reason with everybody they will explain why they do something the way they do. Niantic is a great developer and glad they took on the world of Pokémon with there Pokémon Go. Keep it up Niantic

I really love this game but the fact that I cannot do a raid battle for a legendary Pokémon on my own is increasingly Aggravating unfortunately there are not many players that can come out during the time of legendary raiding I think it should be possible for any one person to take on a legendary Pokémon their self if they have the proper Pokémon to do so but that’s not the only thing I would like to say PVP is the most sensual part of the legacy of Pokémon GO and for it to not be included in the game is extremely unacceptable catching Pokémon is fun but to battle them with your friends and against your friends is the point of the game to be the best that no one ever was we will never be able to become Great trainers if we are not given the opportunity to put our hard work and time into The most important part of the game battling against Friends all the same I love the game but I am going to be taking a hiatus from the game until such time it is fair for a single trainer to take on a legendary Pokémon alone and we are able to battle against our friends I don’t really want to have to do this but the game is losing its point to play that is all goodbye for now

This is a great game. but the spawning of pokémon are lacking a bit. the insense are good but i have timed the pokémon and for a 30 min span it’s to far apart atleast out of 30 mins you should spawn 5 pokémon. another spawn problem is that there are so few pokémon to begin with. i say commons should be around a lot but nothing really around at all. another thing is as i quested to get a ditto i have realized that excellent is almost impossible. the ring size i have gotten to and still only get great is insane i have gotten where the ring is a fourth of the size of the ball and still only great. this should be fixed. i can not complete mission if i can get excellent. i have not seen many that have gotten this this pokémon with out the switchbeing involved in it. another thing is you should open the ring up to a bigger area for people to see more so they do not have to go into a home or hospital. this can make things fun for the fact the farther you are on the circle the farther the pokémon is away could me things fun and you could add a new medal for this. i hope the company sees this and will help out all of the trainers with this issue.
Do you WANT dedicated players gone?
by A Broken-Hearted Fool on 2018/09/10 15:40
The past month or so has been a giant crap-fest of screwing over the main consumers of the game. Like, sure, spend three months putting the legendary birds in raids with a shiny chance, let your players spend $20+ on raid passes under the impression that they'll never have a shot at one in at least the next year, and then at the end of all of it release all three for a month as a "bonus" to nullify their efforts and bank account emptying. Not only that; spend over a YEAR watching people rush from their homes to complete raids at ex-eligible gyms for a shot at getting an ex-raid pass, only to release mewtwo for everyone? I just took a 3 hour long trip to nashville yesterday to complete an ex-raid because they were really that rare. Now apparently in a few weeks they're going to start spawning everywhere. And don't even get me started on lucky pokemon. Everyone that's actually into the game traded all of their old pokemon off for a higher lucky chance immediately. And everyone that didn't, already received 10 luckies and missed their chance at guaranteed luckies permanently. It almost feels like a reward for those who broke the rules and made multiple accounts; because who else is going to trade someone a guaranteed lucky valuable pokemon in exchange for a 10 cp bulbasaur from 2016?
Sound design and quality
by TotalMiner_7 on 2018/12/01 05:56
i love the game and the gameplay can’t really get any better than it already is, however there is one glaring issue with the game. it has a few sound design issues. the sound effects that come out of my iPhone XS are so low resolution, it sounds like a Nintendo DS Lite. Every time i click a menu button there is an awful sound that sounds fuzzy, distant, and grainy. the game would be top notch if they simply added that. the music doesn't have the same problem, so why do sound effects which are equally (if not more important) hinder the experience of the game? i do have an issue with the music. why is it still this generic Pokémon GO song? why not remix some old route themes from all the different generations of Pokémon with Pokémon GO instruments? imagine running around your neighborhood catching Pokémon with a remix of route 209 from Sinnoh? that’d be so great, and its been 2 years and i’ve heard people argue for this in the past. I just cant justify five stars when the sound design is so effortless, and its been like that since launch. if they revamped the quality of sound effects this game would be perfect, i dont even need the music. fix those grainy sound effects!!!
App kept crashing on my new iPhone xs max
by gmzdrgnmastr on 2018/10/15 17:36
Here’s my story...about a week ago I decided to buy the new series 4 watch and the new iPhone xs max. I was excited about using this app on my new watch since I’ve never owned an Apple Watch till recently. Anyway I launched the app and was prompted like normal to sign in to my google account, which I did. When the app reached 100% load time it simply crashed and shut down. I know this was a problem in the early stages of when the app had launched, so I did all the basic troubleshooting....restarted my phone, uninstalled the app and reinstalled, cleared browsing history, deleted account associated with google..all of that didn’t work so of course I was starting to get frustrated and was ready to write a review with a one star rating. But I kept my composure and thought outside the box, turns out that the cause for the crashes was with my watch. So what I did was uninstalled the app associated with my watch, relaunched the app from my phone, signed on, waited till the app launched completely and then installed the app on my watch. Anyhow I just wanted to share this experience in case anyone else out there ends up going through the same issue.
Overall above average game
by Holly Ha on 2018/05/14 04:43
Pokémon go is pretty good if you live in an area with a lot of poke stops but if you don’t then you’re screwed. I live in a rural area and even though there are some stops and gyms there aren’t enough to sustain my supply of poke balls. If I go out and play I will end up catching a lot of Pokémon and run out of balls very quickly because there aren’t enough stops. So what I end up doing is I travel to the city where there are a lot of stops and it’s pretty fun playing there because there are a lot of gyms and stops but it’s very annoying to have to drive to the city every time I want to play. Also I know a lot of people have already said this but there should be trading and PVP it would make the game a lot better and more enjoyable. I also think there should be an easier way to get poke coins because the only way you can is to put your Pokémon in gyms and you only get 1 coin for every 10 minutes and it Maxs out at 50 coins. I feel like you should get 1 coin every 5 stops you spin or something similar to that because there should be another way to get coins. But even though there are a lot of negatives to Pokémon go it is very fun if you are in a good area.
I love it

Individual quests??
by Npo1234 on 2017/10/24 20:56
The game could use some individual quests where specific targets and goals need to be reached in order to capture a particular type of Pokémon. While the camaraderie that the raids bring out is fantastic, it also brings out certain drawbacks where trainers don’t utilize their stardust (many have saved up but relatively untapped because there’s really no reason to) to properly power up their Pokémon to assist with defeating Raid bosses leaving the burden to the rest of the trainers. While in a larger settings with 10+ trainers it really doesn’t matter but the underlying issues are that these raids are simply hand outs. The raids are often too easily won without much of a challenge. Experiences are too easily achieved, rewards are overwhelmingly abundant. There isn’t much that needs to be done from a strategic point of view. Perhaps individual goals or making the Raid bosses more difficult to actually defeat or returning the old gym system with highest CP on top. Currently as it stands, rare candies are in no shortage for the most part for those who participate in many raids; for some-stardust may be the limiting agent but that can be solved by catching more over time. For others, they keep storing their stardust and don’t necessarily use them because there hasn’t been any compelling reasons to.
Personal goals system
by Greg_Cohen on 2018/01/11 16:05
So I love playing this game and have been with them since the beginning. Niantic has put in systems that have helped the game grow and stay in the top charts. I loved it when they added the 7 day streaks system. It gave me more XP and Stardust on a regular basis and I really needed it. I was thinking that they should add personal goals in Pokémon Go. For example, there could be daily and weekly challenges that could grant you Poké Coins, super incubators, and other bundles of items. In addition to personal goals, I believe that Niantic should scrap the EX Raids and make it so that you need to complete your own goals in order to attempt to catch Mewtwo. This way you won’t have to rely on luck as much and you don’t need to rely on other players. Another idea is that there should be a “Sell” option in he shop. Just like in the Pokémon games, you can sell items that either are worth a lot or don’t have any use for you. I have so 300+ total potions that’s I have to just discard to make more room for Poké balls. It would be awesome if I could sell the items I don’t want and receive Poké coins. It’s just a thought. I love this game so much and I hope the updates keep on rolling in!
Recently returned and want to play more, but..
by Siege2 on 2017/11/28 12:46
I was one of those players who played at launch for a month, and was driven away by how hollow the game was. There has been a lot of improvement since then. I’ve recently moved to Florida from the far north and am motivated to spend more time outside. Enter my Pokémon GO revival: The game itself is fun and engaging now that there has been a lot of content added. You can read that in any review. The criticisms I’d like to contribute outweigh the benefits I’ve been enjoying lately. Niantic has a bad reputation when it comes to app support and listening to customer feedback. The notable exception being during in game events that they need to continually host in order to sustain a player base. iPhone X users had been waiting for an update to support their device for quite some time, despite developers having more than adequate time to provide it. Niantic’s solution, nearly a full month after the iPhone X release, was to zoom everything in and make everything look and feel wonky. The edges are also cut off so they could stretch the UI vertically. Lazy and sloppy. There’s no excuse for this, and my rating will remain at 1 star until this is addressed. iPhone X users now have a smaller usable map on a larger display. The game was more playable before they “supported the iPhone X.” Get your stuff together, Niantic.
I’m getting fed up with this game!
by Cheryl 7777 on 2018/06/13 03:40
I have been playing this game for almost 2 years. I have one account leveled up to 40. I’m working on another account and have it leveled up to 38. I don’t know if it’s Niantic’s issue, Verizon’s issue, or Apples issue, but I’m having constant problems with my gps and my avatar wandering way off. I was at an ex raid this afternoon and couldn’t play at all. I was sitting practically right on top of the gym and my avatar was wondering a few miles off somewhere. This is happening several times a day. On numerous occasions I will actually get into the gym and use my raid pass and my lucky egg, only to have my avatar take off for parts unknown. So I’m out my raid pass, my lucky egg, and the 20,000 xp for the raid. These inventory items cost me money. Another big issue is when I try to sign into the game. At least 1 out of every 3 times I attempt to sign in, the loading screen gets stuck right under the “Y” in the word “your”. That’s where it stays stuck no matter how long I wait. I always have to sign out and completely sign back in. I have played this game for a long time, and when it was working it was fabulous and fun. At this point I’m fed up with wasting money and being frustrated. I’m about ready to look for a new game to waste my hard earned dollars on.
Best App I have, but...
by CyoteSlayer on 2018/01/25 03:03
Pokémon in general are awesome to me. Pokémon go makes it a reality of being able to interact with Pokémon, not fully. Pokémon go is a great way to help me start walking around when there is a new Pokémon nearby. (however I’m never successful. 😂) But however, as amazing as this game is, I still wish you were able to interact with the Pokémon on a new level. In the Nintendo Pokémon games, you have the ability to play games, feed it, pet it, and raise its happiness. However this isn’t the case for Pokémon go. Giving players the experience to get to know their Pokémon and grow closer to them makes the game a lot more enjoyable, and gives perks in the actual game. Such as raising its happiness level, (which makes certain Pokémon evolve), raises its accuracy when it has higher happiness levels, and makes the Pokémon a lot more friendly, and more obedient. If the creators of Pokémon go just added this feature, I would be playing Pokemon go NON STOP. Literally, I would probably not stop playing. 😂 I’m sorry for rambling about, I’m done preaching. Thanks for listening to my wishes and my sincere gratitude for the creators, of Pokémon Go.

Game is one of the few that brings family together in a good way. Love it! Would be nice to have a suggestion box in the settings menu. I would really like to see bubble effects appear on lucky Pokemon background. Other types have their effects working, but water type effects get overwritten by golden backdrop.

Thank you.

Overall its a great game but i just opened a special reserch box and had to use 50 balls and run out just to try and catch a suicane. Its ridiculous.
Developers please read.

Bye!

Just keep the game fun but I guess they have to make money somehow.

by SousaGoose on 2019/02/16 21:52
The game was amazing 2016-17, but it’s really dropped off recently. They’ve come out with a whole new micro transaction crap and it’s just awful the way they try to scam you. Half the time it seems like you’re playing terrible AI. It was fun, it’s just not the same anymore.

by 十斤如心 quach on 2019/02/16 16:35
We should have unlimited poke balls.

I need more.

by Lunar is on 2019/02/16 08:46
I have played this game since day one of its release and my twins love to play it as well.

Honestly.. a bit frustrated.
by Gundring on 2019/02/14 22:21
At the start I was very excited for this game/ app..
If they get rid of all the splash screens and weather warnings
by coachsteved1 on 2019/02/14 21:27
If they get rid of all the splash screens and weather warnings I will change this to a 5 Star review.

P.S. ( I am saying this not only to make this game more fun for me but all of the friends I play this game with are compaining about a few of these issues and I would like to continue playing the game with the game with them as this is the only game I play and I fear they may quit playing if you do not add content. )
Suggestion

Pokémon go is OK
by OldGamers01 on 2018/12/18 22:14
I like Pokémon GO it’s very simple now very hard to use and it takes you out of all of the house and help his people to walk about and explore but the one thing I have problems with is that when I logged on for the first time I was at level one and then also I had a glitch and also I became level six on the red team even though I never chose that team the problem with this Pokémon go is that the team that develop the And the support system there is terrible because when I tell him about my issue they won’t even respond to my problem I was trying to tell him that I did not pick my team and they were saying that we can’t do anything about it once you pick your team there’s nothing that you can do I also try to reset my account with my new email and I didn’t do any good like I had really had issue with the login is your for Pokémon go and the support staff on that game was terrible they need to learn to have some Consideration about their customers if there’s a problem they should take the time and look into issues instead of just sitting on the automated discussions about what we need to know stuff like that the support system was really terrible in my case I mean the game is fine not gonna lie but the support system is terrible though tech-support for their game is terrible I even went to the website and didn’t do anything about it
Best game ever
by Ugfiyxjydthfdh on 2018/07/16 16:46
Very good game!
by epicivan on 2019/01/11 01:45
Hi I am going to tell you about all the good things about this game to me.

I really love this game but the fact that I cannot do a raid battle for a legendary Pokémon on my own is increasingly Aggravating unfortunately there are not many players that can come out during the time of legendary raiding I think it should be possible for any one person to take on a legendary Pokémon their self if they have the proper Pokémon to do so but that’s not the only thing I would like to say PVP is the most sensual part of the legacy of Pokémon GO and for it to not be included in the game is extremely unacceptable catching Pokémon is fun but to battle them with your friends and against your friends is the point of the game to be the best that no one ever was we will never be able to become Great trainers if we are not given the opportunity to put our hard work and time into The most important part of the game battling against Friends all the same I love the game but I am going to be taking a hiatus from the game until such time it is fair for a single trainer to take on a legendary Pokémon alone and we are able to battle against our friends I don’t really want to have to do this but the game is losing its point to play that is all goodbye for now
Great game Few cons tho
by datbookend on 2019/01/22 05:21
This is a great game. but the spawning of pokémon are lacking a bit. the insense are good but i have timed the pokémon and for a 30 min span it’s to far apart atleast out of 30 mins you should spawn 5 pokémon. another spawn problem is that there are so few pokémon to begin with. i say commons should be around a lot but nothing really around at all. another thing is as i quested to get a ditto i have realized that excellent is almost impossible. the ring size i have gotten to and still only get great is insane i have gotten where the ring is a fourth of the size of the ball and still only great. this should be fixed. i can not complete mission if i can get excellent. i have not seen many that have gotten this this pokémon with out the switchbeing involved in it. another thing is you should open the ring up to a bigger area for people to see more so they do not have to go into a home or hospital. this can make things fun for the fact the farther you are on the circle the farther the pokémon is away could me things fun and you could add a new medal for this. i hope the company sees this and will help out all of the trainers with this issue.
