Why is this game still garbage on iOS?
by DustyElbow on 2019/10/16 01:01
The game itself is good. I play in on my laptop. But it is completely and utter garbage in iOS. And no it cannot be my phone, I am running on iPhone 11 right now and it’s still as bad as it was back then. Lag every second. Whether on WiFi or LTE. Every move I make connection problem. Complete waste of storage space honestly, regardless of whether you’ll use all that storage space on your iPhone in your lifetime. It’s better of just sitting there have this junk on it. It’s a shame to see this happen on here for this game. I imagine it turns so many people away. I had to delete it after one or two games with the same problem. Can’t even complete a single turn correctly. Save yourself the time. Play on computer or not at all.
App doesn’t work.
by movinslo on 2019/10/14 16:36
Cannot get past intro, indefinite black loading screen.
Plagued by network issues
by jarebear989 on 2019/10/12 16:07
An otherwise great game riddled with network connection issues. I’ve yet to make it through a game in my first week without these issues ending my turn early or causing me to reboot the app and miss entire turns. This makes competitive play impossible and I don’t experience this with other games on my XS iPhone.
Steep learning curve
by TheBarmer on 2019/10/09 21:36
I agree with quite a few other reviews but felt like everyone was biased in one way or another. The game can be P2W but it doesn’t have to be. There are ways to earn lots of gold and card packs but you need to take the time to learn deeper strategies. I’ve been playing on and off since Beta and Jaws of oblivion is the first time I’ve spent money besides the founders pack. Some cards do require an insane amount of money to acquire through $20 story expansions but I have yet to buy any. The AI in this game is WAY to hard most of the time though. Especially in the arena. But maybe I’m just not good enough at making budget decks and understanding some of the strategies. It’s not perfect, but it can be played for free if you take the time to learn the game. And it will be quite a lot of time unless you aren’t new to most CCGs or are very casual like me.
You should be able to gift things
by gabe7712 on 2019/10/09 21:15
You should be able to gift things just like ESO because some people would like that idea
Rewards
by Finnly and Finnly2 on 2019/10/09 20:59
After every reward there is just no way for me to continue to the next level without exiting the app completely. I’m not trying to close game and re open after every game. Come on.
Great but
by viewtoo on 2019/10/09 14:36
Good game but there is no point in playing if you aren’t willing to spend 20 bucks right off the bat. Especially when there is a new update for cards. Even in the bottom 3 tiers I am put up against people that have clearly spent money to get certain cards because that’s the only way that you can have those cards. Good game all in all, but be prepared to spend your sweat equity on a video game.
Unbalanced Jaws of Oblivion
by Raiikken on 2019/10/09 03:40
Been a fan of this game for a couple of years now. However the new cards introduced in this expansion are so over powered that my previously good deck gets blown away day 1 of expansion release. Appears if you have the cash to invest in the new cards you have it made.

by MarkosIsAwesome on 2019/10/05 23:47
USED TO BE AWESOME. I loved this game and played it religiously.... Now for more than a month- it doesn’t work with new iOS.... What kind of morons wait so long to update or patch when there is a critical failure like this?
Great Card Game!

I really like the game and encourage others to get it! Only problem same as others is the new IOS update does not let you load the game. Please fix soon!
No joke best card game out of all of them
by Obanye on 2019/10/04 21:50
I’ve been a magic player, too much hearthstone , still have a love for gwent and like shadowverse but this game far surpasses them all. Deck building and class system is closer to magic but it has lanes and is more fast and simple like hearthstone. Really cool anti aggro counter measures in the system design but it’s still a valid archetype. Hope this game blows up!

Pay to win.
by yodimicyoderson on 2019/09/29 04:08
Title says it all. A game that is nearly impossible and does nothing but frustrate since it is based 50% on luck and 50% on whether or not you spent money to buy packs of cards you need to be successful. Story mode is playable up to leeniths house. At that point the pc gets every advantage, and with the cards you have at the time you either have to lose 20 times to level up enough to get more cards and hope they’re good ones, or pay to get them. If you have no life and nothing else to spend your money on I’m sure it’s enjoyable and playable. But for people who just want money sucking free strategy experience to play in waiting rooms or to pass the time, this is the wrong game for you.

A cut above the rest
by Edward Wagner on 2019/09/27 21:43
I’ve played other games like hearthstone gwent and magic. I love em! Legends stands out in my opinion as a game that stood against titans in the industry and withstood the test. It’s well balanced, the art is great, it’s two lane system adds an interesting level of depth, and the variety is excellent! Admittedly my bias for elder scrolls strongly influences this review but I believe my experience with other games is enough to validate my opinion of it! Try it out and see if you can get to legend! It was very rewarding for me.
Same mistakes
by Osmond40 on 2019/09/27 04:13
This game makes the same mistakes as hearthstone, certain cards are locked behind payed story packs which limits non paying players to what they can and cannot play.

Bull
by moxtra on 2019/09/20 18:33
Its no surprise that Bethesda made this game because it just screws you over. Another great one for Tod Howard ha! This game is bull. I’ve been playing it for ever since it’s been out and have been getting screwed on it ever since. I love elder scrolls but the game just screws you. Try it for yourself but the system isn’t random. I’ve beeen playing long enough to know what random is and it’s bull. I’m going to send this review out as many times as I’ve been screwed by this game.
Fantastic game
by Still the same guy on 2019/09/20 17:08
I am blown away by how addictive and great this game is, but it has stopped working since iOS update 13.0. Crashes upon loading screen. I will update my review to five stars once this is fixed.

Quick fix or next patch pls
by ltw4r on 2019/09/12 00:54
Love the game but since the last update I’ve experienced connectivity issues constantly. A minimum of 6 times PER MATCH. Some times it doesn’t even notify me of being disconnected & I will miss whole turns. Ive port forwarded my phone & there’s absolutely no service issues on my end. None. Not one.
Pay to Win
by Shaqle77 on 2019/09/07 18:26
This game is pay to win. Probably Bethesda’s strategy to recover from Fallout 76. Also some cards and pay to win decks need balancing and are almost impossible to beat with self-made decks.
Good game however there are a few flaws
by Molkin2019 on 2019/09/01 19:49
So far I think the game is awesome, great game play and diverse cards makes it very addicting to play. It reminds me in a sense of playing MTG. I love the nostalgia from all the cards and characters from the games. The love the ability to build your deck and how well cards play together to build a synergistic deck. The only thing is dislike and find to be quite bs is that the computer can use way more than 3 of a certain card. I’ve seen the same card played 6-8 different times in one battle, however we are only allowed to use a card 3 times. On top of that the computer always seems to get the right cards at the right time every time. I had a computer opponent down to 1 health and I was at 28, workin 3 turns he destroyed all of my creatures and due to the synergy of his deck, was able to get 8 creatures on the table and beat me. The computer just happened to get all the perfect cards.
New update unplayable
by NewbieTech56005 on 2019/09/01 03:14
Have been playing this for a while. New update makes game unplayable. Whether it is clicking on the ring of magicka or trying to draw a card to the board, network disconnects and reconnects, or tries to unsuccessfully 90% of the time. The game has suffered from minor bugs and modest network connectivity issues but this is unplayable.

Garbage
by BogSeezy on 2019/08/22 03:29
Game is legit garbage. Bethesda literally only cares about ripping as much money as they can from you at this point. The AI battles are completely rigged and unplayable. Dumped four hours in to the game and deleted it. I’ll go back to hearthstone. I figured after you dumped on fans with fallout 76 you’d want to put out a good product. Guess not.
Incredible Balance and Intricate Deck Building
by Turtles__ on 2019/08/20 16:37
Not a perfect game, there’s obviously always going to be a “meta” and deck archetypes that are just better than others, but the game does an incredible job of being balanced across the hundreds of cards. No mechanic is TOO gimmicky to be used, nor TOO powerful. If hearthstone is your casual, RNG heavy gameplay, this game has you min/maxing and stacking odds in your favor skillfully. Very enjoyable
Used to be fun
by Davolka on 2019/08/19 18:51
Like the title says it used to be fun I used to play it all the time. I recently redownloaded it though and now half my cards are gone and there is no way for me to get gold to get new cards because I don't have enough to play at all and I'm not spending money on packs.
They ruined my decks
by Alaranzal2 on 2019/08/19 03:51
... by changing a card I used in most of them. Falkreath Defilers used to summon one of my dead creatures whenever they killed something, now they just put it in my hand which is useless to me. Why on earth would they dumb a card down to the point of uselessness instead of just giving the retrieved card a reduced casting cost?? And I have to say that although I like the game, not being a p2w is very frustrating at times. Game companies cannot get the simplest things rights even after all this time, not because they don’t know how but because they care a lot more about $ than quality.
Used to be ok now just garbage
by Killianrok on 2019/08/18 01:41
You no longer need any strategy to play this. Just throw some money in. Get a bunch of epic cards ( doesnt really matter which ones ) throw them in any random 100 card deck and you will draw them everytime and win.

Game is rigged to force monotonous pvp grind for gold
by Jre@&*12345 on 2019/08/10 12:37
Programmers seem to think the best solution for low player turnout in pvp is to crank difficulty meter for pve to impossible. It seems rather than improve the wildly imbalanced pvp to draw more people, they’d rather simply infuriate pve players with absurdly overpowering enemies. Opponent beating me in 3 turns with impossible card combinations that counter everything I have? Deck full of 1 and 2 drops that suddenly disappear from my opening hands? Must be the weekend… Ef you very much programmers. 🤬
Pay to win
by HolyCornPuffs on 2019/08/09 18:12
You get to play one story and you have to buy the rest, as far as the game goes it is very fun but if you want to win, and you want to get better cards, you have to buy things

Time Abusers
by cockbeer on 2019/08/08 10:41
This is a fun game and at all but as a mobile game this game fails. Nothing has been done to those users that abuse the timer waiting until the last second to make their plays. It is irritating and for nothing to has been done to combat this.
Free to play friendly
by Thatshow on 2019/08/05 00:07
I have not spent a penny on this game and have had months of enjoyment out of it by playing arena. Mechanics from similar card games translate well to this game and I was able to get max wins in arena very frequently, enough so that the arena awards with the daily quest rewards have continuously paid for my next arena tickets. I dig the fact that a pay to win game can have such fun balanced free to play mechanics for skilled players. If you want to pay to get an edge in constructed play, feel free, but if not you can always play arena (a more fun format in my opinion anyway) and experience every card in the game in a different free to play format while building your collection from rewards. Very satisfied!
Impossible
by gvg_300 on 2019/08/01 20:46
I love elder scrolls more than anything but this game is a disgrace. It’s impossible to play the enemy’s are way over powered they drop 5 cards every time it’s their turn while you can drop 1 or 2 cards if you’re lucky. The only way and I mean the only way to continue this game is to actually buy cards because they give you cards that can’t defeat any enemy. Now if you want to play a card game like this I HIGHLY SUGGEST HEARTHSTONE it’s way easier and you can get the hang of it fast.
Love!
by SexyBubblz on 2019/08/01 06:44

by unplxg on 2019/07/26 00:53
Is it just me or is Chapter 20 freakishly hard? I have tried multiple of my strongest colors but nothing seemed to budge. I can hardly attack with anything. If anyone could help me, that’d be great thanks.
Keeps glitching
by j80066Y on 2019/07/21 02:44
Subpar game play. No issues until recently updated. Keeps skipping my turns, significant in game lag time. No way to contact developer for fix. Do not waste money! If I could I would give lower rating.
The game is ruined with updates
by Thewcious on 2019/07/20 00:21
Unfair advantages to certain types of decks namely red or blue makes the game unenjoyable for those wishing to play the other 4 types of decks. It has become a smash and grab type game as they dismantle the strengths of the other 4 types via changing card values or card plays. The only decks I see get into the top 3 tiers of ranking and stay there are blue and red typically which tend to be a very annoying play type as it’s becomes less about what cards do and more about just hitting the opponent as hard and fast as you can. In a real physical card game when you have a physical card you get to keep it even if it’s amended later for other players for starting as a player early on. Congrats on making a bunch of new decks but don’t punish the elder players. Let’s see how life goes on with out this game, I just deleted it for these reasons.
This new release is terrible
by Blue_7187 on 2019/07/19 11:27
These new cards added to the game are too op. What kind of nonsense is it to make a creature card that has an ability to exalt itself in order for the player playing the card not lose the game no matter how low life points are. This wax and wane ability is stupid and flawed. The game released pre made decks that allow people to just play them and go far in ranked play. This is nonsense. If you’re going to release decks that are made to win in high ranked play then what’s the point of building a deck? This update ruined the game and made cards too op.
Amazing game
by BeerRules on 2019/07/18 23:24
This was my first card game. I’m usually a grind-it-out strategy RPG guy but I gave this a try almost two years ago. I legit have logged in every day since and play as often as I can. I’m an exclusively mobile player as well. I can’t say enough good things. After a content drought and developer switch, the game hasn’t been better. Can be 100% F2P if you put in time (not that much though). I’ve supported the game through various promotion or expansions but haven’t spent more than $25. It’s rewarding, challenging and just a blast to play. Community is welcoming and helpful plus the competitive scene is ramping up. Get into this game now!
Please fix!
by Enjoy128745 on 2019/07/15 03:09
Dudes! I love this game but when I’m making a deck I can’t hold my finger on a card to see what it is! This is killing me and if it doesn’t get fixed I know I will end up quitting out of frustration!
Pathetic joke of a game
by All Time Almond on 2019/07/14 20:35
Won’t ever support this company on any platform ever. Sparklypanties lol what an idiotic name! So many cheaters that have a deck full of guards, lethal etc. you will never get past level 8 unless you’re a cheater or pay tons of money. Haha and now there’s a way you can be guarded to go into the negative hit points and still be alive? What a complete joke this game has become. Only thing to know is that this game is complete trash. Unless you pay this shady developer tons of money you’ll get matched up with opponents with wayyyyyy superior decks that you’ll never win against. If you support this game you’re a sad person.
BS ring
by DrArubata on 2019/07/13 06:00
The ring of Mana should be removed, everytime my enemy gets it(100% solo arena games he gets it ) I lose the match
Pure crap
by Marovigian on 2019/07/04 00:15
Do not get this game for any reason !!! Just like everything from Bethesda these days it’s money making grind and as a matter a fact this game is pure BS. You will be thinking to yourself why am I playing this where there is so many games I can enjoy.
Terrible!
by olduser1987 on 2019/07/03 21:38
Not user friendly at all! Retardedly hard to even get going on the story line. How do opponents start with defense and I never do ? Cannot even get a decent powered card out before half my life is gone. This is a terrible spin of my favorite game. It has kind of ruined the memory of it even.
Greed over fun.
by Mechmuertos on 2019/07/03 02:29
Let’s be honest this is barely a game. Bare bones effort for a quick money grab from people willing to shill out an exuberance of cash for minor minor enjoyability. A quick play through of the F2P will make you delete this low ball effort almost as fast. Ignore the hired review bombers. Play something else.

Hot pile of garbage
by J199023 on 2019/07/02 01:22
Hot pile of garbage. Game has some connections issues as well, almost like it’s on purpose. Either that or just coincidentally everytime it’s my turn at a crucial point disconnects and magically reconnects on the other persons turn therefore skipping my turn.

Awesomesauce
by Gouchik the Shadow on 2019/06/29 06:39
For everyone saying ‘it’s rigged’ or ‘you can’t win unless you dump money into it’ blah blah that’s rubbish. I haven’t spent a dime and can hit legend rank on the ladder any time I want. I’ve kept up with all the updates and have 90% of all the cards. Just grind arena and casual for gold and buy the updates. Buy all the pre-made decks with gold, too. IMO this is one of the most fair games for FTP vs PTW of all time. Have to say this game is the best phone game I’ve ever played hands-down. It’s incredibly FTP friendly, no ads, great solid game, fun and intense to play. I try to get all my friends to download it so we can fight in friend matches. If you like card games and don’t want to have to deal with binders full of cards years down the line, DOWNLOAD this game. You won’t have to spend a dime and eventually you’ll be at the same level as all the other players once you collect a bunch of cards. Deserves 5 stars all day — I rated 4 because I’m hoping Bethesda sees this and fixes The Crypt Raider title bug. I’ve beaten Alisanne at the Night Mother’s Crypt on normal and hard difficulties multiple times..still no title T.T HELP!! Warning — playing this game may cause you to want to buy an Xbox to play Skyrim on it lololol

Great game with one big flaw
by glach26 on 2019/06/17 06:19
First off, Bethesda did a great job with nearly every component of this game. Great gameplay, great mechanics, great cards. However, the one significant flaw in the user experience is the game timer. It’s so small and difficult to see or even notice that I’ve lost many a game because of it. Fix that, and I’m at 5 stars Bethesda.

High prices for pay 2 play
by JonSipsTea on 2019/06/14 03:08
Great game but after the first portion you need to purchase additional storylines and additional decks. Mechanics work well and there is an awesome streamlined Deck builder built. The only real issue I have is you won’t be able to progress or build a decent/competitive deck without dropping some $20s or playing for weeks Personal note: competitive -1/-1 counter decks are trash in any game and completely undermine a deck that tries strategy for ez removal Uninstalled until prices come down and when -1\-1 removal stops being a thing

Anyone who tells you this game is good is on Bethesda’s payroll or a moron.
LOVE IT!!!!
by OHMYGAUSS on 2019/06/12 20:04
Drawing similarities from games like Magic the gathering and hearthstone, Legends brings the vast world of The Elder Scrolls to a card game. Legends uses the entire series to inspire their cards, from Morrowind to the current Elder Scrolls Online, even creating their own canon stories, and blends them into a game rich with strategy and competition, that is constantly growing in cards size and loyal players. If you’re a fan of The Elder Scrolls or just enjoy card games, this is the game for you.
Love the game
by Ion1c0101 on 2019/06/09 20:31
I love everything about it but you should implement something so we could speak to our opponents while we play I think that would be a lot of fun.also to know if we are challenging Ai or an actual opponent. Other then that great game.
Good game but needs much simple work.
by xXx_UNHOLY_xXx on 2019/06/07 23:39
For starters... The tabs on my main action screen are invisible. Other things such as scrolling through menus to the far end will have you restarting the game. This game takes far to long to load but I must say it loads good between screens. Gameplay is a monster for connectivity. If you have bad internet the you will have a bad time. Action graphics and voiceovers are rather stale during battle but is very unique in its battle system. I mostly like it but I've found it to be less dynamic and boring in the beginning as the game has you very limited repetitive in the struggle to get things going to your own custom flavorful notch. But it is there but they share very greedy on experience. I'll be more than glad to write more about the gam and give it a 5 star rating when they iron out the kinks that shouldn't have ever been an issue and are proof enough to me that the play tested it just enough so they could publish it and start having it make them money... Shame on them for that btw. But the gam is colorful and entertaining enough to keep my attention. I'm sure this game will progress into something that I'll like even more. Too bad the didn't make an action adventure game... That would be nice to see next.
Was a great game, now it’s broken.
by Bad Tinder on 2019/06/06 08:05
They are on the P2W power creep and it’s not going well. There’s no skill left, just get the new better cards and win without any skill at all! The only way to save this game now is to add another 10 starting health to counter the power creep. Until they do that, it’s a worthless game to start and only decent if you’ve got a stockpile of good cards. I’ve been #1 multiple months, so I’m not just complaining. I know the game very well.
Good but needs to be fixed
by Sailordawg on 2019/06/05 22:39
Great game I love it. Except the last update screwed it all up. The title screen no longer has any buttons. It's just the background picture!

Glitch
by ac1492 on 2019/06/02 01:23
Game is fun but has glitches. Had a match that I won player had -357 I had 200+ health but the game keep going. Had nothing to do with cards he played either.
Wonderful on Fast Phones
by Brynlee1969 on 2019/05/30 18:06
This game used to work wonderfully on my iPhone 6s. As more and more updates rolled in (namely the one that changed the start menu interface and added textures/more 3d things) my phone couldn’t take it. I often experience random crashes whenever playing a card. It’s progressed and I scarcely am able to play a full match without disconnecting. Then it takes so long to reload that I’m lucky to see my opponent kill me or own the entire board.
Thanks Bugthesda
by Haiku Review on 2019/05/28 16:48
This game crashes on iOS almost every match I play. I’ve lost several games because I can’t reload fast enough and end up losing my turn. And what help does the support article offer? Uninstall and reinstall. Inspired, thanks for that.
Love the game, but...
by Schweddy_Bawls on 2019/05/27 18:13
I truly do love to play this game. This is similar but still way different to Gwent and I love that. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because every single story mode match that I complete or fail, crashes the app and I have to reload into it. VERY annoying. Sometimes crashes trying to open a card pack or right after opening the card pack before revealing the cards. Then you have to look through all your cards to see which ones are new to see what you got. It hasn’t ever ripped me off yet, always remembers where I was in story or the cards unlocked through opening the crashed packs but still very annoying. Other than that I love this game.
Game ruined by last update
by Xena-Warrior on 2019/05/27 12:29
On IPAD, crashes constantly to desktop—also on PC CRASHES OFTEN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF MATCHES. As of 5/27/19, still not fixed after thousands of complaints about this game-breaking bug! This WAS my favorite game, but the Sparkypants developer relaunch BROKE it utterly.
Incredible work!
by howard_duc on 2019/05/25 16:59
I got this game because of Gwent in the Witcher 3 and because of my love for the TES series, and this game does not let down, like many other mobile games people with massive bank accounts don’t get to completely rein supreme here, it takes time and practice. And the mechanics are incredible. Really good job!
It’s Hearthstone
by Aretisssssssssss on 2019/05/25 15:22
It’s basically a reskinned Hearthstone. Most Elder Scrolls products these days are ripoffs of other games made to get a quick buck. I just can’t buy anything from them anymore because the artistic integrity—all integrity—is gone. That said, this does get two stars instead of one for story mode. It’s not implemented well, but it’s a neat idea. Otherwise, just go with Hearthstone...
Good luck
by tatical meme maker on 2019/05/21 10:19
If you manage to get past the updating assets screen it maybe a good game. Can’t even let it update in the background. Seems to do it every time you try to play.
Unbalanced, Inconsistant, Jumbled trash.
by Nowlind on 2019/05/18 12:01
So many strats and so many broken cards that have been broken for years. Came back thinking they've been nerfed AS THEY'VE NERFED CARDS BEFORE, pfft nope. Dont play this game. RNG goes against you. You get top 500s within Tier 7 of ranked. The game is not only mildly dead. But it's also trash. Just like Elder Scrolls: Blades. Do not come back to this game.
Fun and addicting, but please fix
by MusiqMysfit on 2019/05/18 10:20
I really love this game and I think anyone who likes card games and Elder Scrolls would be head over heels for this app. But I’m really REALLY hoping if I write a review here, that it’ll be seen. My iPad cannot handle the app sometimes. It’ll crash after an amount of time or if too many things are going on. Could you developers please add an option to nix the special effects and/or add an option to lower the graphic quality? I think that would help it run more smoothly.
Used to be fun
by Mrlongbrow on 2019/05/15 17:04
Used to be a lot of fun. I loved the solo arena. It’s just like drafting, or was. Now it like having a limited deal vs a constructed deck. Literally impossible to win. Even when you have a good deck it gives random OP buffs to the opponent right from the start.
Why no sound when I play?
by KingWolf52514 on 2019/05/12 19:01
I just downloaded it because my roommate said it’s similar to HS and he enjoys the new style of play. I have no sound and went to my setting to turn everything up. 🤔

I love this game but... Please fix this problem
by dru215 on 2019/05/11 20:34
The only problem I have with this game and the reason I don't give it 5 is because this game crashes on me multiple times within 10 minutes and it takes about a minute to load back up so literally 1/3 of my playing time is watching the load screen😡 and it's not my phone because none of the other games I play crash at all so please fix this crashing problem. I know I have a iPhone 6 plus and it's older but there's no reason it should crash every few minutes...
Fun!
by Denzyend on 2019/05/10 00:25
Fun, competitive, not p2w. Strategy is key. Sure you can buy packs but only helps if you have good strategies to uses said cards.
It’s not Bethesda without randomly crashing
by werewolfinsandiego on 2019/05/09 05:30
As with all Bethesda games after Morrowind, this one is painfully fun and arbitrarily decides to crash to desktop. It also takes a very long time to load, especially considering how non graphic intensive it is. Fun game, many familiar voices, and interesting to play if it can stay running. Fix the crashes and I’ll change my stars, but im probably going to stop playing (and I’m a HUGE TES fan)

This game is AMAZING
by Vardartheman on 2019/05/08 03:31
After being seriously frustrated on MTG Arena for a moth or two, I switched to this game over a year ago. And I still play it almost every day. Being the sort of person who spends hours on games like AOE and Civ 5, I never thought I would like a card game this much. But this game never gets old. I have been playing since the legends of Skyrim set came out, and I’m not kidding at all when I say that every single card expansion since then(and there have been almost half a dozen of them) have not ruined the game or unbalanced anything. Bethesda has done a fantastic job of never introducing new cards that totally obsolete the old cards(which I would argue is not the case with MTG) and is quick to nerf cards that are ruining the meta. Yes, redoran conscription was annoying for a little while, and the nerfs to mastermind and skulk were a little overkill, overall the game is still amazing. In addition, most of the people on the game forums are totally decent people who honestly want to share their love of the game and help new or inexperienced players or even average players like me get better. So if you don’t like this game or couldn’t understand it or got frustrated and deleted it, just find a forum on legendsdecks.com or a YouTube Channel. This game is just way too good to not give a second chance. I’m Vardartheman, and I’ll see you on the ladder!
Very good, but flawed
by Siris111 on 2018/11/09 09:34
TESO: Legends is a very good game, very time consuming and a little tricky to get the hang of. The gameplay is fun and is very reminiscent of Card games such as MTG and little bit of hearthstone. The cards are super awesome and any of you who have play TESO: 3 Morrwind all the way to Online will see MANY references to previous games, he’ll you can even get some key characters from the aforementioned games as cards to play, Cicero, Vivec and Aela to name a few. Some pointers: Play through the main campaign! It will get you cards you will need to start out and will teach you how to play the game. Save soul gems, they will let you craft the legendary you want or maybe 2-3 epics that you want. Try not to focus on more than 1-2 decks your first couple hours of play, figure out what play style you have and stick to that. Complaints: this game HEAVILY relies on in app purchases, everything from $20 for the dark brother hood or clockwork city storylines to booster packs. The game is buggy but that’s to be expected as it’s fairly new, the morrowind House card backs are glitched and I have yet to receive 2 of the ones I have unlocked. Other than that this game is worth the time and maybe the money if you’re willing or capable to put either of those things into it.
A great entry for fans of CCG's and TES
by Samderr on 2017/08/26 14:45
At first I had thought this game was a knock-off of Blizzard's Hearthstone, but as I played and built my collection I found that it is a beautiful game with lots of great art and references to the Elder Scrolls universe as well as a CCG that introduces some great new mechanics to the mix. My first caveat is that I have not gotten around to Gwent, so I'm not sure if any similarities could be drawn. I do know that the game's color system will be immediately familiar to MtG players, and that most of the card's individual mechanics will be immediately recognizable to veterans of HS. My second caveat is that I am a huge Elder Scrolls nerd, but I feel that Legends provides all the nostalgia and excitement that Hearthstone did for Warcraft veterans, albeit that Blizzard's entry still feels a little more stylishly designed and smooth-running. That said, Legends plays smoothly and the mechanics that may seem familiar are still presented in new and surprising ways. The new lane, rune, and prophecy systems inject new considerations to the control of deck meta and can dramatically alter the pace of a game. All in all, I haven't been this excited about an app since HS and I was surprised and delighted to see such a strong competitor in the mobile CCG arena- I will definitely be playing this more over the coming months if only to see the direction it goes.
Great game and ideas for new games.
by RockuSan on 2018/12/10 03:01
Please read to the end it would mean alot. Great game I truly love this game I have restarted it many times just to eat the full experience it meets my expectations, I don't have anything to complain about in this game or any ideas for it but I have a great idea for another mobile game for you guys and the very vast fanbase. I would love to see a port of the original first 2 elder scrolls games Arena and Daggerfall. It has been done with RuneScape this year and seeing Sega put their classic games on the app store I think it would be do able. It would introduce many newer fans to the original games and show more people about the story of the elder scrolls universe since most of the elder scrolls fans started at Skyrim. I would love to see this become reality and not just a dream of mine I feel like not only me but others would truly enjoy. Please consider this game idea. To all of those who have read this far thank you it truly means the world to me if you like the idea of Arena and Daggerfall coming to mobile please find ways to get the word to others and Bethesda themselves I would greatly appreciate it. Again thank you it truly means the world to me thank you and have a great day or night or whatever time it is when you are reading this.
Try harder
by Aggrivating updates on 2018/02/12 23:54
This one thinks Bethesda could do better. They could come up with something that's not a knock off of every card game app out there, yes this game has amazing art, and clearly took a while to put this together, but that's all they did, piece together other games and fed it Elder scrolls lore, and put it together. There's no ground up feeling there was in Bethesda's fallout shelter. This is just like every other card game, but played off the style of Magic: the gathering system. Though it sounds like I'm complaining I'm a huge fan of the work Bethesda does and I plan on playing this game through and through for the credibility, but anyone who isn't already part of the elder scrolls community I see them having a few problems with being as hooked as I was. In the first 30 seconds I was playing his game I ran for my charger because I knew I was going to be addicted, playing for a few hours. I hope to see this game adapt and change as it grows but being that it already appears to copy most other card games I have little hopes it can grow much more.
Rigged
by R3Qu3rdo on 2018/08/08 10:14
First of all it is a great game except for a few things. The art is spectacular and the layout really addictive. But I just can’t help but feel like a lot of matches are rigged. For example, against the AI, only two or three rounds into it you get lucky and draw a high - power card with no other cards in play (you are set to do a lot of damage next turn when he is available to attack). Well it so happens that once it’s the opponent’s turn he so happens to draw a card that scraps yours immediately without you getting the chance to use your high-power card. It was the only one the opponent had in its deck and it so happens that he drew it then. This type of stuff happens in almost EVERY match against the AI. They just seem to have the card that counters yours. Kinda frustrating. Also, often you are set against opponents that you don’t stand a chance against. They have many of the cards you would have to pay to get and unless you pay you would not stand a chance. Of course, if you pay to get nice cards they would just match you against someone with even better cards so you still don’t stand a chance. This game would be great if card draws were really random and player matchups were more balanced. I unfortunately has to delete the game to stop myself from falling into the endless pay-to-win trap. It’s really too bad because other that that this game would be great.
I don’t write reviews but.....
by sensikid on 2018/09/30 16:00
I’ll try to keep this short and sweet.....to those with negative reviews-I’m sorry but ur just wrong. I neither have the time nor desire to explain why each is either full of sh%t or just plain not good at CCG’s. A lot of work and thought went into the mechanics so that this wouldn’t b another cookie cutter CCG. There is more than enuf in this game to satisfy someone wanting a serious option to MTG or HS. As in both afore mentioned games the AI is what it is so u can become a GOOD player. There is no AI imbalance that is out to get u-just get better, and if that means spending a couple bucks for expansion packs or even pre built decks( for those that just don’t get the concept of meta) then so be it. I mean geez u don’t really think the Devs made this game cause they felt like being nice do u? Anyone else remember the days of going to the store to buy packs of MTG cards? Cause I do.....and while on that point-PLEASE-I beg u all,if I’m wrong, someone intelligently point out why. Ok I’m done ranting,if u dig CCG’s and u already play MTG or HS or both and want another cool one to dive into then u won’t b disappointed with Bethesda’s entry.
Broken game
by Jaycrabtree83 on 2018/11/03 15:58
This used to be a great game. I used to play it every single day. For hours on end and into the night. After the Sparkpants update, many problems arose that I never had in the past. For one, you have to open the app after you “update” it from the AppStore, and let it “update” again? So, instead of the app completely updating in the background before, now you have to watch a loading screen for sometimes half an hour. And holy crap, if it gets interrupted for any reason whatsoever you have to start all over again. I guess hope no one tries to call you or text while you are doing it. Seems like a step into the past. The graphics are wonky now, they were fine before. Everything is jumpy and not fluid. I guess the only selling point for the upgrade is that it “takes up less space” on your phone now. But, if the lame backwards updates keep coming, it will end up taking zero space on my phone. I’ve just been logging in and collecting my rewards for each day, but until they get it fixed I see the game as unplayable. If they could go back to the way things were before SparkPants, I would play the game like I did before. I feel kind of ripped off, as I have quite a bit of real money tied up in this game. Maybe they will fix it, or maybe they will just let it die.
Too frustrating
by DragonflyMoon on 2018/11/25 10:14
As a new player, trying to figure out how to navigate this game when doing something like setting up a new deck, is just too frustrating. I deleted the app. When trying to set up the deck for the first time, all these pop up instructions come up and you can’t get rid of them or figure out how to set up your deck. I ended up accidentally deleting a deck and not even having enough cards to play with because I was trying to get the pop up instruction to move so that I could edit my deck and nothing on the page was working right. In fact, I couldn’t move the pop up instruction, it was in the way of reading some of the cards. I couldn’t figure out how to look at all of the cards because there was no way to flip through them so that I could choose the ones I wanted. If there was an over arrow to do this, I couldn’t get to it because of the pop up instruction. Game designers need to have a better idea for levels of frustration for new players when trying to set up or navigate the set up for the game and no new player should be able to delete their deck so they can’t play by accident in a way that they can’t be recovered. Some people pay for these decks. There should always be a way to recover them. I am just not going to play. It isn’t worth the headache.

New Client
by Sjekebendl on 2018/09/29 19:21
Why did you change the interface? The older one looked so much better in so many ways. It looked a lot simpler but was still visually impressive, the buttons were big so I could actually see what I was pressing on my iphone se, gameplay was incredibly snappy, when I press and hold a card it zoomed in so I could actually read it, the board was brighter and simpler so everything was easy to identify, and the animations were smooth. The new client is not smoother, animations are awkward and clunky, the board looks “too” fancy, everything looks more complicated, I can’t read the card descriptions cuz it’s so freaking small and I can’t zoom in, buttons got smaller, there’s so much lag now, lots of bugs and glitches, gameplay is a LOT slower because the animations are so long now. Before, I could play the cards quickly, but now I have to wait for a card’s clunky animation to finish in order to play the next card. The only good thing about the new client is that things are a lot snappier when viewing my collection. Other than that, this was a horrible update. Please change all asthetics back to the original. The game lost it’s charm. Thanks for reading my rant.
Great Game... Was Outstanding
by T4ct1cs on 2018/11/20 20:26
Before I get in to it to deep below, this is an awesome card game and the mechanics and cards are a ton of fun. Also Bethesda you earned a lot of credit with Skyrim, Oblivion, Fallout 3, NV, 4. I would give it 5 stars prior to the big UI update. See why below. Me and my friends played the crap out of this game and thoroughly enjoyed it, then our fun was cut short after the update to the beautiful new UI. See this new shiny interface update works fine if you have the latest iPhone but if you or your friends have older iPads, iPhones, or droids it basically wouldn’t download the update or would run INCREDIBLY slow to the point of freezing during matches entirely. I ended up getting a new phone and it works great again still runs poorly on my iPad Mini which I would prefer to play on though. 😓 And my friends haven’t played since the update making it unplayable on their devices so I’ve lost a ton of interest as playing with friends who also played Skyrim and had a shared interest was sort of 70% of the experience. 😭
There is no future for this game
by High5iver on 2018/11/14 22:14
Update: I am no longer able to even download the game thinking the new set of cards would be interesting. Nope. All I get now is a message “sparkyloginfailed”. How long has the new client been released and you are still having so many login bugs. A game can’t be successful if people can’t even play. It’s sad to watch such a wonderfully made game crash and burn because of a new client/developer. There is no future for this game. Turn back traveler. Original: I have tried to be hopeful. As someone who genuinely loved this game on its old client, spent real hard earned money, and streamed, the new client has turned me away from the game entirely. The mobile client does not even let me play the game after downloading and continues to load assets. And mobile was my primary method to play. And don’t even start on the glitches and game crashes when the game plays on PC. To add salt to the wound removing twitch drops, temporarily for an unforeseen time, at such a pivotal moment for the game was also damaging. Yes the game is flashy and pretty, but no longer has the Elder Scrolls feel that drew me to it initially (and kept me playing since launch). Maybe there’s a future for TESL, but that is not today or any day soon.
Definitely worth it
by WildGadget on 2017/11/03 06:02
It's worth a download and a play. The story is very fun, the cards are entertaining and the builds are understandable. It's easy to branch off and build your own thing. Any Elder Scrolls fan will enjoy the art and references. But seriously, a LOT of it is just a rip of Hearthstone. BUT, it's like Hearthstone 2.0 Your magic doesn't cap at 10, you get to keep building it which makes mana gain decks way more worthwhile. Prophecies are an interesting addition. The person going second gets to use a one man's boost once per turn THREE times instead of one, it's insane. The introduction of lanes stops the issue of one creature with taunt ruining everything. Does the enemy creature have taunt? Then use the other lane, he can't block there. I'm mainly giving this a four because the gold gain is slow and the items are priced pretty high. Quests can be tough and make it much harder to get your gold per day. It's not very properly balanced as yet but I have hope for it
Devs need to learn bs isn't difficulty
by ihavetoputsomething on 2017/08/31 16:41
I love card games but I always hate computer card games because the developers think bs is difficulty. Sorry but bs is bs spend more time on the ai and less time on the graphics that no one is impressed by after the first time. The solo match is one of the best parts of the game but to make up for bad ai. They use bs. So your gonna beat the computer. Oh well I just too decked the three cards I need to stop you. Does it happen in real life yes. Does it happen as much as when your playing this game. Not even close. Oh your winning too much. Then your gonna get every high cost card you can cast and put up against a speed deck. If you can put up with this maybe it'll be fun for you. I on the other hand don't believe bs is a win sorry devs. Also in the regular match same thing happens you are getting close to leveling or you won too many times in a row. Guess what massive fail for your deck. Also too many broken cards that you can only buy. So you get demolished by them speed deck. 2 for a 4/4 whatever. Then somehow the person gets to have two out by turn three. Yeah like you aren't being forced to loose there. Just ended up deleting the game. Waste of time.
Regrettable last update, hoping game can be improved in promised future patches...
by Taz_Orlando on 2018/09/29 15:01
Bethesda moved this beloved game to a new client/platform, and in so doing infuriated the vast majority of the games long-term players/fans. Prior to the last update, this was easily the BEST game of its class that I have EVER played. Unfortunately the new client/platform (Sparkypants) was not able to capture any of the aesthetic quality of the prior version. Bethesda has acknowledged the negative feedback they have received for this update in online forums, and has promised to address SOME of the issues in future patches to correct bugs and glitches. It’s unfortunate that this happened, and many of the old version players/fans have left or are threatening to leave the game. Out of intense love for the old (Direwolf) version, I’m going to keep the game on my iPad and hope/pray that Bethesda can get this game “back on track”, and restore some of their “lost glory” in future patches/updates. 😥
I hope developers read this.
by An Non-y-moose on 2018/07/13 22:24
Dear developers, great game. I love this game. However, there are certain cards that make this game no longer fun. Case and point, Your legendary god cards are far too OP for fairness of play. Specifically, the Vivec card. I just got done with a match that I had a player at -25 health. I still lost because he had a single card that literally prevented him from loosing. In combination with Sothla sil, it was literally impossible to overcome, even though I had more life, more creatures, it didn’t matter what I through on the field. I have played a number of users with decks consisting of almost exclusively legendary cards. I have even played against a user who had multiple copies of the same legendary. Which means the mechanics on which you designed the game in the first place aren’t working. This is definitively imbalanced and unfair and highly and immensely frustrating. Please for the love of god and all that is holy. Fix this mechanic!
Do you like MTG?
by I played the game (9hrs) on 2017/09/25 18:06
Pretty similar, but card archetypes limited to 2 per deck (Don't know yet if dual typed cards let you use types outside deck construct). For a card game, story mode works amazingly as a tutorial/practice gauntlet. If you do pick this up, finish story mode to level cards (each level up lets you evolve specific cards tied to that level and they remain the same magicka cost while gaining or losing effects) as well as get free cards from story decks you can use in a custom deck. Only downside is that at 50 card mininum for decks, I REALLY need to rely on the heart of the cards to get me out of certain situations. Runes and prophecies help a ton (when they proc with each other) since they give you cards at certain damage threshholds. Of course, with the variety of cards in the game, this is almost a non problem (the many AI's I've faced who constantly swarm both lanes can attest to this). All in all, a great game to scratch that Magic itch on mobile (Talking to you Duels)

This is my first time ever actually playing and getting into a card game like this. Tried it with magic the gathering but I just couldn’t get into it. I’m not sure if this is pay to win, I haven’t went up against other players just yet. So far I am still getting the hang of it so I’ll update this review as I progress. Biggest thing I would see as a needed improvement would be to allow offline gameplay. Also, I get disconnected from the app every single time my screen goes dark. I have to restart the app and lose all progress when that happens so it’s very annoying. Some of us have lives and need to it the tablets and phones down while we run off and tend to our kids, pets, etc. I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds that extremely annoying. Good game. The way they set up the story is a little weird because at times you’ll find yourself having a card battle with a wolf.. lol
Bethesda should be ashamed of this game!!!
by Glaive84 on 2017/12/24 05:18
If I could give this game negative stars I would. I’ve played a few other card games like this on my phone and this is the absolute worse. The mechanics for shuffling and drawing cards is a piece of junk. At the start of every game you get to chance to throw back and redraw any or all of the the starting cards and I’ve literally watched myself redraw all of the same ones after choosing to redraw all three. It doesn’t seem to actually shuffle any decks before a fight. Some fights I get the same card almost back to back. Most pvp games feel like the someone’s deck was stack to make sure they one. Sometimes this is you and sometimes this is your opponent. They say you can only have 3 of one card in each deck but I’ve watched the computer and other players draw a card 4 or more times without playing some type of spell card to draw from the graveyard. The story lines themselves are good but all the computer fights have their decks stacked perfectly. I regret ever downloading this game and I’m just thankful I didn’t spend money on it. Bethesda really screwed up with this one!!!
Used to be amazing
by frogman90 on 2018/09/28 23:32
When I first downloaded this game a few months back it was amazing. The art, the animations and the online multiplayer. I got to a point where I logged in at least once every day for the benefits. Now after this upgrade (which took 3 days to get running) the new art and extra time consuming animations and the INABILITY to re-enter a match you were disconnected from is what made me uninstall. The new design makes it look like a free2PAY mobile game. You had it right the first time, what happened? Everything is bubbly and thick outlines like they’ve abandoned their core audience and are only looking for young children who will spend their parents money. The change in the art is for this very purpose and why this game now looks like every other game on the market. You’ve really done an amazing job at ruining a once great product, and even if I could get this version to run properly on my barely used 6+ I still wouldn’t play. Call me when you make legacy skins so I can get the old version back. Until then 2 stars.
Skyrim
by UlmoPhinster on 2017/12/05 07:22
I like this game a lot. However, it is a fixed deck game, you are either going to win or lose depending on whether you are supposed to win or not. If your the type of person whose ego can’t handle losing you don’t want this game. The game will allow you to win or lose depending on how many times you have won or lost consecutively. So if you’ve won three games in a row, you’re going to lose five before you win again. Even if you’re playing someone who is a lower level than you, with a weaker deck, you won’t get a playable card until the fourth, maybe fifth round. By then it’s to late to have a chance to win. You can try to use a speed deck, but they’ll just get the exact cards they need at the most opportune moments, it’s very frustrating! It is a great game, though if you’re just trying to pass the time, and it looks great!
Sad day
by PuffpuffPANDA on 2018/10/18 13:45
This game was one of my favorite games to play on my 6+ . Ran so smooth and never had a single problem whatsoever. After their huge update, with no option to stay with the old system. There’s been nothing but problems... even with all their recent updates. I don’t know why they don’t leave an option to stick with the old graphics. My phone can barely run the game now. It ALWAYS lags and freezes. I had to write this review after losing another ranked match due to these freezes. It’s pretty frustrating to experience right before winning a ranked game... I don’t know what they were thinking, especially since the older version ran flawlessly. I like this game, so I’m going to buy a newer phone... hopefully it’ll run with no problems. Overall, a flawless game is now filled with choppy overly animated gameplay, that is full of lag and game stopping freezes... I hope this type of bs isn’t done to fallout 76... please fix and allow an option to stay with the old flawless version of the game. Thanks.
Currently the best or second best card battler out there.
by bruindevil on 2018/04/07 04:17
Great mechanics. Games take a little longer and require more attention than hearthstone (due to prophecy and ETB effects). So depending on what you are looking for, your opinion will be swayed. The biggest drawback for me is the tiered lengendary: normal or unique. It costs way too much dust to fill a deck with a play set of non unique lengendaries. Update: if I had consistent time to play, I would easily rank this as the best digital card game on the market (games are on average much longer than a HS game for me). The meta doesn’t go stale, and the developers put a lot of thought into mechanics and fun ways for players to engage in different play styles. Houses of Morrowind is so far excellent. Best of all, you really can get far via free to play, as they release a number of pre-con decks that you can get with gold earned via quests.
Wonderful game for CCG lovers and fans of Elder Scrolls!
by Meldrak on 2019/03/30 02:57
This is an excellent CCG. I have played CCG’s including MTG, Babylon 5, Star Trek, Eve and many others. I still have a massive MTG collection. I wish Legends had physical cards as the game and mechanics are awesome. The artwork is great and the game is rewarding to play. I have only spent a few dollars on in game purchases and do excellent in casual and ranked play. I earn enough gold coins completing daily quests and through winning games that I can “buy” all of the story missions with earned gold. I only spent money on one decent deck after a few weeks of play, and that was enough to get me started. I like free to play games as long as they let me earn most of the things I could spend real money on and it doesn’t feel like I have to grind to do it. Give this game a chance and you won’t be disappointed.
Definitely Worth a Try
by Stwrsclnwrs on 2019/01/26 17:36
Im skeptical about card games but this one is honestly really fun. Ive also seen several 1-star reviews saying the game seems “loaded” like the opponent has the perfect card to play every time. THIS IS STRATEGY! You start with three cards. Each turn you gain one power to play stronger cards, and you draw one new card. Ive noticed the opponents will often skip the first two turns or so. While you play your weakest cards first and do minimal damage to them they are stockpiling an arsenal and a deep bench to play whatever they need when they need it. I also think they stock more “action” cards while I personally stock lots of monsters. You can customize your deck (with some minor limits) to fit your play-style. That said, one thing that really annoys me is that one opponent had cards that cost very little to play, but do alot of damage. Cards that I don’t have. Compared to my cards they cost about half AND do about double the damage. Keep in mind this was the final boss of the campaign, and its a given he should be hard. Took me about 7 tries to beat him. Frustrating but challenging too. My opinion is that this game is alot of fun and its worth giving it a shot. Myabe you’ll love it like I do.
Cheating computer
by ItsMePickles on 2019/01/23 05:49
This is a very addictive game and rightfully so, very user friendly and easy to learn. Having said that, I’ve noticed that sometimes (usually when on a good winning streak) the opponent computer played deck will ignore some of the rules that were put forth at the beginning of the game, such as playing cards even though all of the mana is spent, having more than the max number of any one card in the deck, or having one or more creatures attacking more than once in an attack phase, all of which with no card effect or anything else giving those cheat-like abilities an explanation. Those are the only things I’ve seen happen and it’s not all the time, but I would really appreciate it if that could be fixed because I really like Bethesda as a company all together and letting these small things through make me lose some faith in them, so please fix, thanks!
Elder Scrolls Period
by Mr. Bosmer on 2017/09/20 22:27
Let me start off by saying that I have been a die hard Elder Scrolls fan since I was the age of 9. My first Elder Scrolls game was Morrowind, and it by no means was the last Elder Scrolls game for me. When I heard about TES: Legends releasing my heart raced with happiness. After playing TES: Legends I absolutely fell in love with the game. The only con I see in this game is the fact that it is similar to Hearthstone, mind you I am a huge fan of Blizzard as well. It's not necessarily a con depending on how you look at it. Both games have their own specific features that makes them both unique. Moral of the story is that this game has hours of fun and takes tons of strategy like most card games. The Elder Scrolls will always be my number 1 game series, and I have yet to have a negative experience with an Elder Scrolls game.
Total failure
by GrumpyKaspar on 2018/10/04 01:21
This was the best game I had ever played on mobile. After the client switch to Sparkypants I had to leave my phone unlocked for over an hour while hooked up to WiFi to get a successful download. Was met with oversaturated colors ala Hearthstone instead of the graphics appropriate for the Elder Scrolls IP. Then all of the bugs kept the game from being reliably playable. Then they patched it. Since the patch even while hooked to WiFi and with unlimited data on LTE in Seoul I have not been able to install the game again. I’ve left my Apple 8+ unlocked on a charger overnight and still can’t download the assets. Five days now. Can’t express my disappointment as I had spent a good deal of money on this game in recognition of the quality the prior client DireWolf had delivered. Someone at Bethesda ought to be held accountable. The ESL twitter feed, the Bethesda ESL forums, and the recent reviews on this App Store should inform the stakeholders of the incompetence of the people charged with managing the customer retention of this precious beloved game.
Updated to developer!
by FluffyD22 on 2018/11/18 12:39
You won’t be disappointed at all with this game if you love either MTG, hearthstone, or even Shadow Era. A lot of chapters and puzzles to play and you get a lot of cards, decks, and coins to unlock more. You don’t have to spend a cent to play and have a great deck. I’ve never played Elder Scrolls (games) but I wish I’ve had. But to tell you the truth you don’t need too. The devs did a great job on this game. Artwork and flow of this game is beautiful. You honestly won’t be disappointed and if you are just go play Yu-Gi-Oh! or Pokémon........ Updated to developers. Please fix the screen resolution for the new iPhones x series. I’m pushing the buttons while playing on the black part of the screen and sometimes push out the wrong cards to play. Simple fix thank you.
Expectations way too high
by Tsau-bemo on 2018/11/02 20:55
This game is really good, like probably the best CCG on mobile right now. When Sparkypants took over from Direwolf, there was like a week where the game was more buggy than normal. The audience of this game had way too high of expectations when the developers switched over. Most of the recent bad reviews are coming from players who had their feelings hurt because it wasn’t a perfect transition. Sure some things could be better, and I wish they hadn’t removed twitch drops, but I’m sure if you give Sparkypants time, they will continue to improve the game. I think the new interface is great and the game is much faster. Don’t listen to the impatient community that complained about the transition, try the game for yourself.
Beautiful game
by Starmanetee on 2017/10/02 19:11
As a longtime Hearthstone player, I find Elder Scrolls Legends to be far superior for a number reasons. Incredible artwork, voiceovers, good music, a story mode they gives you free packs, and - last but not least - The game is simply about strategy and not pay to win. I could actually get into it and also get my friends into it without asking them to drop money to catch up because they are seasons behind and don't have the legendary cards that most need to win in Hearthstone. As a result, it's also a lot more fun to experiment with decks rather than having to go to a "winning" deck that someone on Reddit made. Great adaptation to the phone with this one. Yes, it kills your battery, but it's a great game with some nuance to it due to the differences in lanes.
Terrible Update
by eibortan on 2018/10/28 16:47
This game was amazing. I loved it. I still love it, but every time I play it now I’m gravely disappointed. This is because although the gameplay still works after the update which reworked the entire game, the rewards don’t. I practically never receive my daily rewards, even though I “claim” them, which means I’ve missed out on many card packs and special cards. Even the game rewards that I’m supposed to gain after each win are now mostly nonexistent. And there’s no consistency with this glitch. I win one match and I’ll get game rewards, try a new game, win, and no rewards. This means that my primary motivation for playing this game (earning rewards such as cards and card packs to upgrade my deck) has been taken away by the update. It’s a great game, despite the update, but I need my rewards! I need validation of my achievements!
It is a good game
by Luv2Pull on 2018/04/23 12:41
This game has great graphics and it is easy to pick up and put down. It is frustrating at times due to the randomness of the card draws. I have to admit, though, that it is probably the best app available for f2p with no real need to buy unless you are wanting to enjoy the game content a little faster than if you were to scrimp and save in-game currency. Everything is purchasable with in-game currency and it is available consistently through regular daily play. A little advice to new players. Avoid wasting gold on arena and stick to ranked play and the story until you save enough to unlock another story or purchase a custom deck. It will most likely take you a week to save 1000 gold unless you are hardcore. Then it will take you a few days.
Great Elder Scrolls Card Game
by MyGooses2 on 2018/02/02 03:11
Not gonna lie, this is probably my favorite online card game. It is very similar to Magic The Gathering. The forgotten hero story is fun, but we end up not having that many interesting fights (the bosses and most battles are fun but the assassins and bandits are pointless.) The Dark Brotherhood campaign vastly improves, but it is so over priced. I got ESO for less than I would pay for the Dark Brotherhood story line. So I ended up playing a ton of competitive to get the coins I need so I can buy the campaign for free. The actual competitive battling is almost perfect. Making decks and fighting others is so much fun! I do think they should add land to fight on, for example willpower would be Cyrodill, and intelligence would be High a Rock or the Summerset Isles.
For Skyrim!
by A dunsparce on 2019/04/03 03:06
This addictive card game is crazy fun, especially when you have friends to play with, and how much thought comes into what should have been a simple card game. With its online prowess, cards can be updated for fair play, and different combinations, you can really find your own creativity. Matches can be occasionally swift, but it’s the long, stressful matches that really get to you. Also, you can rudimentary communicate to the other player, thanking them, being cheeky, or just a respectful player. Either way, I think it’s really fun when you’re reassured that your opponent is not a bot. It makes every battle exhilarating! Can’t wait to play more! The Nords must take back Skyrim! (Stormcloak Deck is the coolest! Haha!)
I love it! But please read!!
by Rodessa point on 2018/12/01 19:39
I love the art! The gameplay! The characters! Better than any card game! But all I ask of you, is to make this a physical card game!!! Or just get somebody else to make it and you claim the money!!! We all are begging for it! Go look at the discussions that are happening online! You could have your game played at tournaments!! I believe that it would also earn you extra money!!! Bethesda please!! I’m not trying to rush you to do what I’m asking! But at least try to do it later on or after you finish the elder scrolls blades! It could also be for collecting the cards! And please, if you do make this, make it playable. That’s what makes a card game, a card game! Please reply and tell me if you will!!!
Awesome game for free
by BarakielOfTamriel on 2017/10/07 02:14
I've never been a Magic-card-playing type but am a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series dating back to Morrowind. At first I was skeptical but the game has got me playing on my work breaks. For those complaining about having to pay for better stuff, well it's not something this polished is done for free. People have to make money and pay bills, you know. When you move out of your parents' house you may understand this. That having been said, I'm only playing for free and this is the most fun mobile game I've played yet. The graphics are especially slick and everything seems to keep in tune with ES lore as much as a silly card game can do. Bravo, Bethesda and an arrow to your knees for stealing even more of my time lol
Great game, requires good WiFi
by Shroudedbob on 2018/06/29 17:40
I picked up this game on my phone to play casually, and I really enjoyed the single player campaign and deck building. I found it tough but fair, a good difficulty balance. The only problem I have, and this problem is enough for me to only give 3 stars, is that the game requires a constant internet connection. My WiFi is kinda spotty so depending on where I am in my house I will just get kicked out every 2 minutes to every 30 minutes. Is this really necessary? It gets really annoying when I am trying to craft a deck... get about half way through then a disconnect error forces me to start over again and again. Is a constant connection needed during deck building or single player games? Anyway if your internet is better then my potato internet you should try this out it is a lot of fun.
May not run on older mobile devices as the old client did...
by haverai on 2018/10/31 00:45
I’m a longtime fan of ESL and have been playing it for quite some time now. Sadly, with the introduction of Sparkypants’ new client, ESL no longer runs seamlessly on my phone like it used to before the client switchover, quite the opposite actually. This 2-Star review is specifically for the mobile app version, as I’m still a fan of the game. I’m using an iPhone 6 Plus, which I do understand is dated for today’s industry standards, since the majority swap out their phones yearly or every other year (I’ll be replacing this one soon, but I fail to see the need to switch phones as often as most do). My phone now severely struggles to run the game client, and the lag makes it near unplayable unfortunately. This wouldn’t irk me much, as an understand the limitations of the older technology (I work in IT), but for the fact that it worked so well before the client was rewritten. It seems that the new client has a much heavier footprint in terms of what it demands of local system resources and GPU processing. I still play ESL on PC from them to time, but I loved the portability of being able to play it on mobile when I was out and had downtime to kill. It saddens me that Sparkpants disregarded support of semi-older mobile devices when they rewrote this game.
For everyone saying it’s fixed deck for fixed game
by Rinzler223 on 2017/12/15 01:43
You all need to learn to build better decks. I haven’t spend a dime on this game and I’ve built two decks that each have different mana skews and both decks win a decent amount. I can usually determine the weaknesses in my decks after a couple rounds and tweak them accordingly or overhaul them when I obtain lots of good new cards, and I’m constantly making my decks better. There are a lot of card options that allows for a good amount of different playing strategies, and figuring out good strategy with weak cards still got me far in the beginning. This is a super solid game, and you don’t need to spend any $$ to get good cards, just time and skill.
Fully functional version of the PC game
by Bucolicism on 2017/11/26 18:38
Started playing this game on PC and the game is fantastic. The game is certainly grindy as there are so many high level cards but Bethesda offers a lot of ways to gain resources. They offer Twitch drops, daily login bonuses and daily quests as ways to rack up resources. Not to mention a few excellent story modes that give you cards as bonuses. You are certainly in a better position if you spend money early on but that strategy becomes less effective after you accumulate all of the low end cards. The app version of the game works just as well as the PC version showing that they spent a lot of time creating this. Definitely worth checking out!
Awesome Game.
by SaxGui on 2018/10/21 01:05
This game is addicting and it's very different than other card games. I like this game being mobile and so far I haven't had any issues. Plus you link your Bethesda account to twitch and get drops, i.e. epic/legendary cards, coins, gems etc. recommend tying this game out you will definitely have fun. I only wish I would've played when it first started. Update: I still enjoy the despite the issues with the cards and the game lag. I will not play as much (will login for the daily prizes) due to the changes and almost nonexistent twitch drops which were nice. The graphics are still great but all the bells and whistles that were updated slow down the game I think. I will still give 4 stars.
CCG All Star - A must play
by Liebemond on 2018/05/06 01:52
This is an exciting and well executed addition to The Elder Scrolls franchise as well as a gorgeous and extremely developed CCG entry. The mechanics are fantastic - I have not been this engaged, or this obsessed, since MtG. There are so many options with pacing and deck building - truly skill/strategy focused. Players will also find lots to enjoy without being hamstrung by a burdensome pay-to-play system that blocks meaningful to progress, but can also rest easy knowing there is real value in any decision to spend - it’s that good. Being able to move across platforms to play with your free account is another bonus. Bethesda has hit the mark once again.
My Cup of Ale.

After countless hours of playing Skyrim on my console I didn't think a silly app game would live up to the real thing. Was I wrong. This themed may have the same gameplay as others, but it has all the elements that make Skyrim great. Starting with the selection of your race with different benefits and emotes each, to stacking Shouts that debilitate your opponent. After getting through the short campaign you will be ready to enter the arena for Pelagius' entertainment or battle opponents in casual play. There are many formats to play, all with different rewards. If you have played Skyrim before you will appreciate the sounds of this game. These are legitimate console in-game sounds. From the roar of the Graybeards shouts, to the quotes of player emotes "Well met, marsh friend" will bring you back to Skyrim. Every Card has a unique sound, every time it's played. Now get this game and prepare your deck for battle. Stack up on guards, poisons, shouts, elixirs, dragons, weapons, actions or creatures. But beware when you face me, Miraak and I are waiting to enslave your best.
Complete mess after update
by ipoptires on 2018/09/29 12:20
I really did love this game, but after Bethesda decided to drop Dire Wolf in favor of Sparkypants as the developer, the so called “refresh” of the game became a complete downgrade. The game now drains my battery extremely fast and my phone gets hot. The game is slow and laggy. Constant crashes. Animations choppy. Daily rewards and quests may not give you an award upon completion, and that’s if the quest even shows up in the first place. Many cards abilities just don’t work now. Text on cards is so small you need a magnifying glass to read it. I could go on. The only reason I’m not giving this 1 star is because the core mechanics of the game are still there. It’s just that this update took a beautiful game that had little to no problems aside from maybe a few card balances, and completely made trash out of it.

You should be able to gift things just like ESO because some people would like that idea
Rewards
by Finnly and Finnly2 on 2019/10/09 20:59

Great but
by viewtoo on 2019/10/09 14:36
Good game but there is no point in playing if you aren’t willing to spend 20 bucks right off the bat.

I’m going to send this review out as many times as I’ve been screwed by this game.

by ltw4r on 2019/09/12 00:54
Love the game but since the last update I’ve experienced connectivity issues constantly.

by cockbeer on 2019/08/08 10:41
This is a fun game and at all but as a mobile game this game fails.
Love!

Keeps glitching
by j80066Y on 2019/07/21 02:44

If you support this game you’re a sad person.

by olduser1987 on 2019/07/03 21:38
Not user friendly at all!
Play something else.

by Gouchik the Shadow on 2019/06/29 06:39
For everyone saying ‘it’s rigged’ or ‘you can’t win unless you dump money into it’ blah blah that’s rubbish.

Terrible since update

Good game however there are a few flaws
